Destino: Let's begin, peasants!
@ask-guardian-gallade
*Destino takes one look at Romeo and makes a disgusted face.*
Oh great. The walking stick over here decided to make an appearance. Your face reminds me of something. A Stunky's backside. Nobody wants to see it but it keep rearing it anyway. And you lost your arm too? How did that happen? Wait, let me guess. Your battling skills were so bad that you lost it to the first Pokémon you saw? I wouldn't be surprised if you lost it to a Sunkern. I've heard how pathetic they are. Perhaps you're a Sunkern in disguise, considering how weak you look. I could probably knock you over with a single breath. Snap you like a twig too. You should probably be more careful around other Pokémon. I wouldn't want you to loose your other arm because they gently bumped into you.
@spikyegg
*Destino laughs as soon as they see Derek.* You think that ensemble looks good on you? Haha! That's probably the funniest thing I've seen all day. You look like if a Trubbish decided to take a shit and proudly display it on themselves. And that head piece? That's probably the most flattering part about you. Then again, you're not anything special to look at. Main character? Of what novel? Because I doubt anyone would want to read a book with you as the protagonist. I think you probably misunderstood your role. You're one of those character who would appear for a second and get easily forgotten because of how little impact you more than likely have in this world.
@team-pokefriends
*Destino looks at Sophie, shit-eating grin on their face.* You know, I love it when other Pokémon create impossible dreams for themselves. Like you. Dreaming of being cool looking like that? How truly inspiring. The cape certainly doesn't help. Did you really think putting that ridiculous cloth on you would suddenly make everyone think you're cool? Perhaps you should change your dream to being the world's most deluded Slowking. At least that's achievable. And you're one of two leaders of a Pokémon team? However did your team mate allow that to happen? I mean, sorry to say this but it's clearly some elaborate prank they thought of to make you look stupid. I doubt I'd ever want you to lead a team if I made one. That's sending so many red flags. I'm surprised you haven't failed miserably yet.
@nobetternamethanthat2
*Looks towards Daniel, feigning surprise * Wow. I'm speechless. I truly am. I didn't think I'd find someone so ugly but here we are. I should give you a medal for going around looking like that. And the outfit too? Oh man, I feel sorry for anyone who decides to hang around with you. Then again, I imagine they're doing it for pity. And come on. At least style your hair a bit. Put a bit of effort into your appearance. I know not everyone can look as magnificent as me but at least try to have some dignity. I would offer to make you at least look somewhat decent but I doubt even my skills could help out in that department. How could you ever make yourself look presentable when each mirror you come across cracks at the sight of you?
@neverlandfaerai
*Destino looks at Agatha with a mock surprised face* The god of creation decided to make you look like that? I wouldn't be surprised if you were one of the idea they threw away and ended up accidently being created. I imagine they regretted that decision. I mean, who would even care for a decrepit creature like you? Do you even have any friends? Family? I highly doubt it. Why would anyone want to be around some washed up old crone? And please don't speak. It makes it much easier to maintain my illusions of your intelligence that way.
@ask-suicune
*Destino takes one glance at Zantzu and smugly smiles.* Well well well. If it isn't the water type who decided a scarf would be a good thing to wear. Perhaps you should get a bigger scarf to cover more of yourself up. And what is up with those ribbons? Born with ribbons coming out of your ass? Damn, I almost feel sorry about how ridiculous you look with those. And that hair. Purple. Did you dye it that colour to make yourself look a shred bit presentable? No? You were born with it? What a disaster for you. I'm surprised you wake up everyday telling yourself you look ok. Your scent is also incredibly interesting too. Did you attack a Stunky or did one just sneeze on you? I thought water types were supposed to be clean but the whiff I got of your stench makes me doubt what I've heard.
@askpokemoncrossover
Sai. You know, you amaze me. Being some mad scientist's fucked up creation must be so hard for you. That's not the case? How on earth would you explain your looks? I have the belief that every Pokémon can be strong. Looking at you though, I can see I was wrong. Those noodly arms would barely be able to get a single hit on an opponent. I guarantee that if I used my weakest attack on you, you'd flop to the ground in an instant.
And I doubt anyone would come running over to aid you. You look like the type of Pokémon not even a mother could love. Does anyone love you? If you said yes, that'd be the funniest thing I'd have heard in a long time.
@ask-lu-two-and-mew
Now, help me out Lucario because I'm really struggling to understand how you could ever think that face mask could work. That's natural? What an absolute shame that is. Perhaps you should cover up. At least then your friends wouldn't be embarrassed being around you. And a fighting type too? I thought fighting types were supposed to be these strong looking Pokémon that could hold their own against any opponent. I doubt you could even put a dent in a geodude. I imagine everyone else probably fights your battles as they would see how pathetic your attempt at fighting was and take pity on you.
Destino: Don't worry, I'll come at the rest of you later. I know you all crave my attention. I understand. Who wouldn't?

Platonic!Sidemen x Autistic!Reader
Tw: panic, upset reader, oversimplified, overwhelmed and I believe that’s it.
Sorry if this isn’t what this situation may actually look like. I don’t really know exactly everything I have done a bit of research hopefully this is ok.
Text messages are green.
–—–
Tonight you were celebrating, celebrating your friendship with the Sidemen. You had been with the boys for ten years, you started the channel from nothing to amazing things. And tonight you were going to party and celebrate!
You were dressed in your outfit of choice, you had gone out with Talia, Faith, Freya and Ellie to get your outfits and having a little girls day for yourselves. Your outfit suited you very well, it matched your personality and showed your true colours. You were excited, you were excited to see the boys and everyone there.
You were currently just arriving to the event, you had a lift from Tobi as he didn’t live too far from you. So he offered and you accepted, you had your arm around Tobi’s as you both entered the large room. Decorated in xix and sidemen theme items. You were amazed, you and the boys never thought your channel would come this far; so it was a blessing.
You spotted Ethan and Faith, not too far from the bar. So you walked over to them, “Hey guys!” You waved and gave them a hug each. Ethan spoke “you excited, Y/n?” You nodded “yeah, can’t believe it’s ten years!” He too nodded. Faith put her hand out and said “let’s go and get some drinks, darling.” You smiled and took her hand as you both made your way to the bar. You both got some drinks and started up a conversation.
As time passed more people would arrive and start to fill up the place. You really didn’t expect it to be this many people but you were managing for the time being. You were currently standing with Harry, Calfreezy, Chip and Callux. The boys were chewing your ears off as they drank more and more. But it did help you a little as it was more like a distraction from the amount of people there. You were holding onto Harry’s arm as you felt it was a comforting thing to do.
But as time moved on, you grew more and more anxious. The lights started to become brighter, the smells of different cologne and perfume started to fill your lungs, the more people that were there made you feel like your were trapped and it was getting better.
Although you were feeling more anxious time did continue to fly by, not that it felt like it at all but it did.
You felt awful, everything started to make you feel overwhelmed and overstimulated. You knew you couldn’t handle anymore, so you did what you needed to do. You tapped Harry and spoke “I’m gonna go for some fresh air.” He nodded and said “text me if you need anything, ok?” You nodded and quickly left the overcrowded area.
To be honest with you Harry was planning on joining you anytime soon, he couldn’t take it much longer as he too doesn’t like events like this. But he was able to manage it far better than you did. Deep down he knew something was up, he wanted to give you a minute or two alone so you could get some peace and he promised himself that if you were gone for more than five minutes then he’s coming to check on you.
You stumbled out of the area, you weren’t drunk, just overstimulated. You sat down trying to catch your breath, you started to panic. Tears started to form you felt weak like a sick person with no appetite. You couldn’t bear it no more, Tobi was first to notice you weren’t glued to Harry as you usually were. So he went over and asked were you were “Harry, where’s Y/n/n?” He said “gone for some fresh air but I think it might be more than that.” Tobi nodded. Tobi said “I’ll text Y/n, could you go to the bar and ask for a water?” Harry said “yeah, do you want me to text the boys?” Tobi gave him a thumbs up as he started to text you.
–—–
Tobi: Hey, you ok?
Y/n: kinda…
Tobi: where are you?
Y/n: I’m outside by that balcony area
Tobi: omw stay there, ok?
Y/n: 👍
–—–
You were sat on a bench, phone in your lap as tears fell down your cheeks. You felt like you had been drained of all emotions. You heard the door click then open, you looked over to see Tobi and the boys. They closed the door behind them, Ethan and Tobi sat besides you and the rest sat or stood around you. The boys who stood made sure they gave you enough space that didn’t make you feel more uncomfortable. Tobi spoke “here, Harry got you some water for you.” You gave a small smiled and thanked him. Ethan placed an arm on the back of the bench “would you like us to stay out here with you for a bit?” You nodded as you leaned against him. The boys knew that you were overstimulated so they never mentioned it as it was like a unspoken promise that they’d look after you till you felt better.
So what they usually do is ask you things, like what your plans are tomorrow or what video are you going to film next. The boys knew that they would have to take there time. But they knew that no matter the situation you were in or what was happening around you; they’d always be there and stop what they were doing. This was one of many reasons you loved them. You may not be family, but you friends. But this friendship between the eight of you was just like family.
You fidgeted with Ethan’s rings while the boys were in conversation. You slowly became yourself again, knowing you’d probably ruined their fun you spoke “I’m sorry I probably just ruined your night.” The boys were quick to defend Simon said “no you didn’t, honestly your our main priority over a party.” Harry spoke “I couldn’t of lasted any longer either.” JJ said “Y/n, if you need our help we’ll do whatever it takes, even if this party was for us, we don’t care as long as your alright.” The boys agreed. Ethan looked at his phone and told you “Faith has just texted me and said that there isn’t much people there now. Only close friends and family.” You asked “really?” He nodded and showed a little video Faith made showing the people there. You said “I can deal with that.” You smiled more now.
The boys all gave you a hug each and a kiss on your forehead, a thing they have always down for you, no matter if their in a relationship or not.
You walked back in with the boys and you all enjoyed the rest of the party. The boys enjoyed it way more as there was less people and more people that they knew well. Which made your night a lot better than before. You were glad you had them as friends. The boys always have your back no matter the circumstances. They love you and you loved them.
–—–
Hi! Hope this is what you wanted, sorry if it wasn’t what you had in mind. If you would like to ask for more thing your more than welcome. Anyone is welcome to ask ideas for me to post I’m more than happy to do that. Have a good day/night! 🫶

fire within.
Tumblr media
pairing — San x reader (f).
genre — fluff, smut (first time).
word count — 3k
warnings & tags — established relationship, reader is a virgin, San isn’t, a lot of making out, some parts are hella cheesy (sorry), San has a vertical labret piercing and a habit of holding reader’s neck while kissing, grinding, San gets hard just by kissing uwu, handjob (not really), spanking (?), sub! reader, soft dom! San, brief mention of blood, explicit protected sex (positions: missionary & face off), you have every right to criticise me for failing to put an actual plot in this, i deserve it.
synopsis — y/n had never imagined she’d lose her virginity on a snowy night, right next to the fireplace.
Tumblr media
The snow had covered the city like a white silky veil. It was freezing cold, the degrees certainly being under zero and the streets were all empty. In contrast to the real temperature, seeing such view made y/n feel so warm inside...or maybe it was the fireplace that burnt for a couple hours now, that made her feel this warmth.
It was the first time, since the moment she rented this apartment, that she actually felt good for it being on such a high floor. The view of the snow-covered city looked like a picture taken by a talented photographer and not by her own two eyes.
San was outstretched on the bed next to the big window, limbs covering more than half of the double mattress, and his head was tilted to the side to look at the darkness outside that got dissipated by thick snowflakes that had started falling again.
San and y/n don’t live together but he got snowbound in her apartment since last night when the heavy snow-falling started. Everything has been immobile since then, no one can ride their cars and the public transportation has stopped too, that’s why San didn’t leave but, to be honest, he didn’t complain and neither did y/n.
The oversized hoodie he was wearing covered his body till his thighs, hiding the black boxers and making him look more comfortable than ever. y/n was lying on her stomach next to him, her head was resting on his outstretched arm, and she was looking outside just like he did.
Suddenly, she propped herself on her elbows to take a look at the street, and when San felt the movement beside him, he turned to face her. She stretched her neck and squinted her eyes.
“what is it?”, San asked.
“someone’s walking down there”, she stated and he only let out a snort at her comment.
“and what if they do?”
“they’re gonna catch a cold if they stay outside for long”
She stated, as if it was a fact, and San let out a louder laugh this time, finding both funny and heart-warming how much y/n worried about a random stranger’s health. He stayed looking at her as she stared at the person who was probably just taking a healing walk on the snow, until a gentle hand got wrapped around her neck. He moved it upwards, on her jaw, and ran his index finger across her lower lip “some people like the snow, you know”.
“says you...who begged me to light the fireplace so you can stay in your underwear”, she rolled her eyes.
San gasped, acting offended by the talk back, and y/n snickered. He held himself up on his elbows, meeting her face.
“come on, i’m waiting for a good one”
She commented cheekily but as much as San tried to think of a good comeback, the sight of her mocking smile got the best of him. The metal bar on his lower lip got between his teeth in an attempt to hold back any urges he had to kiss her... but the corners of his mouth curled up when she cocked a brow at him and a second later, his lips were on hers. y/n was more than glad he couldn’t think of anything good to talk back with because she really needed this softness against her.
She kissed him back gently and if it wasn’t for her trying to part, San wouldn’t have placed his hand around her throat again. She couldn’t lie, she lost her mind every time he did that and that’s exactly what happened now too. He kept her in place before lying down and bringing her with him. y/n simply held herself up on her elbows before bringing one hand up to the pink hair and tangling it in between the locks. They kissed slowly, San’s hand remaining around her throat and occasionally moving her head the way he wanted, and when he slightly added pressure on his hold, her eyes fluttered the most pleasurable way possible.
“so?”, y/n finally broke the kiss. San let go of her and ran a hand through his hair, sliding back the hot pink locks on his forehead, before speaking up.
“i’m kinda slow, i need more time to think”
“...right”
“if you kiss me again, I might think of something”, he said, his expression taking a skeptical turn and making a dimple appear on his cheek.
“your flirting skills are so bad, how did i even fall for you?”, y/n tsk-ed.
“you actually fell for my piercing, not me”
“you...did not lie”
“that’s why i’m putting it to good use”
San puckered up his lips, displaying the -so attractive- piercing and y/n only meant to peck it but, a moment later, she was found on top of him with a single push on her side. She didn’t hesitate to straddle his waist comfortably and once he deepened the kiss, the cute make out took a completely different turn.
His arms traveled southern until he groped her ass and squeezed it nonchalantly. As much as this surprised her, double the amount she liked it because he’s never touched her like that. San kneaded the soft flesh, occasionally pulling it so much that it stung, but she didn’t mind it, she actually liked that more.
Her tongue dominated his and the more she guided him, the more bothered San was getting until she felt it.
“are you hard just by kissing?”, she asked not, actually, breaking the kiss.
“yeah”
“that’s cute”
Since she, now, was aware of it, San didn’t hesitate to guide her hips against his crotch. He grinded her on him and y/n could feel nothing but his hard on even above the warm hoodie.
Her hands moved downwards and to the hem of the oversized clothing San was wearing and with slow hands she gripped it, subconsciously using it as support, and started grinding her crotch against his without San’s help.
He moaned against her lips and y/n decided, at that moment, that his moans were turning her on more than any other sound he’s ever made while making out.
As if he wanted her to know that he liked where this was going, San slipped his hands under the shorts she had on and squeezed her now bare ass in his hands, definitely leaving his nail marks on it. She let her first moan out at that, only for San to let a low ‘fuck’ fan her lips. Her mouth found his neck and as San played with the soft flesh, she left wet kisses on him, occasionally biting down when she needed to hold back a moan.
At some point, San’s left hand pushed her hips up making them both lose the friction they had created. y/n whined but didn’t separate from his neck. He pushed his hoodie up, till his belly button, and the boxers down, enough to let his hard on out and with a slow hand he grabbed it. With her knees pushing on the mattress, y/n held herself above his body. San pumped himself for a moment before pressing two fingers against her clothed core, making her widen her eyes and bring her head up to face him.
She hadn’t noticed what was going on down there, until his fingers left the sensitive area between her legs and went to his dick. That’s when she glanced between their bodies, only to see San’s hand wrapped around his length, moving up and down gently.
She had never seen his lower half naked before, let alone his dick being hard. Her lips fell agape and she raised her body to get a better view. She thought it twice before deciding to reach for it and San took his own hand away. He couldn’t believe the effect a single touch had on him, it felt like he needed instant release when he felt her hand on his tip.
It was rather cute seeing her experimenting with her touches, finding out how an erection feels like. She wrapped her hand around the upper part and it was more than obvious how small it looked around him. She squeezed it a little and San’s breath got caught in his throat.
“San-”, she caressed the soft skin on the tip “i have some condoms on the nightstand”, she said and moved to sit between his legs.
San didn’t expect to hear that but he definitely loved the way it sounded.
“want me to make you feel good, baby?”
y/n nodded and he sat up. He took her cheeks in his hands and pecked her before switching their positions, making her lay down on her back.
As soon as she was against the warm mattress, the eagerness took over her and so she reached for the shorts and slid them off along with her underwear, fast. She tagged on San’s hoodie, making him take it off and, now, the only remaining piece of clothing between their bodies was her sweater which was taken off too with a single nod from San.
Being bare under him was new but not that uncomfortable. Maybe the reason why she didn’t feel bad was because he glanced on her nude form and licked his lips or because he remained hard. Deep down though, she knew she didn’t feel uncomfortable because she was sure about him.
He licked two fingers and as if y/n knew, she pushed her legs open displaying where she needed San to make her feel good.
“i didn’t think you’d be so straightforward on your first time baby but i’m loving it”
He pressed the digits on her clit and her knees, immediately, trembled but he kept dragging them down, over her folds until he stopped on the most glistening area.
“you’re so wet”
...and the moment he said that, y/n momentarily pictured him slipping in and out of her with zero effort. She sighed and closed her eyes all the while her legs trapped San’s hand between them.
He pushed them open fast and placed his right knee on one of them, to keep it from closing.
“don’t do that again”, a slap landed on her clit. y/n gasped, the feeling was so new and so overwhelming already...if that felt so good, how was she supposed to act once he was inside her?
“oh-ohmygod”
Her fingers found her breast and started playing with her nipple, making the stimulation even sweeter and San...he wanted to push her hand away but the scene brought him thoughts he had never had before...the idea of her moaning for him, the idea of her feeling good because of him and, especially, the brief thought of her touching herself to the thought of him, like he had before, got him insane.
“I need you, San-”, she suddenly whined, breaking his train of thought.
“gotta make sure you’re ready, baby”
“i am...pplease”
His next ministration got her eyes rolling back and they hadn’t even done anything proper yet. San held her legs down and brought his face against her core. He gave a quick suck on her clit, humming as he did so, and left her bothered to get the so needed condom.
The cold metal against her pussy had her in shambles. Her body had given up already and when San was back between her legs, the sudden realisation that she was about to lose her virginity hit her like a truck. She was so worked up though and so in need to have him, that her mind was only filled with nothing but the upcoming pleasure.
His body was above her when he positioned himself on her entrance and y/n stuck her knees on the mattress as much as possible when she felt him dragging his tip along the folds. She sighed once again and tried to relax her muscles and San was met with a squeal when he pushed his tip in.
y/n panicked. The pain was more than what she had expected and the feeling way too uncomfortable but San held her down.
“it’s okay”, he whispered and kept pushing ever so slowly. Her walls were way too tight around him, it almost felt like she sucked him in but held his sounds back just for now.
“h-hurts”
“only for a bit”
He glanced down when he was halfway in and withdrew even slower, momentarily noticing a minimum amount of blood around his condom.
“we just broke your hymen, angel”, he looked at her.
y/n’s eyes were on his but it felt like she didn’t hear a word. Thus, San pushed in and pulled out again and again and again just as slow as the first time and it must had been the fifth or sixth thrust when she, finally, moaned.
“that’s right baby, it feels good now right?”
“San-”
He kept being careful, thrusting only halfway in until her arms went around his neck and on his hair. She kept him close and wiggled her hips once he was inside her and San hissed.
“you got confident so fast?”, he groaned and y/n pouted.
“more”
“more?”
He felt his body relaxing, now that she seemed to enjoy it “are you sure?”
“i want all of you”
He granted her wish with a single thrust and he loved her reaction more than he’s ever loved anything. Agape lips, raised brows, hands pulling on his locks, that’s what he needed to let himself free. He thrusted faster and y/n lost her mind.
“San!”
She sucked him in like she needed him the most. She felt him in places foreign to her and she couldn’t control her sounds anymore, even if she tried.
The snow was falling in bigger snowflakes now but they hadn’t noticed, and the degrees outside decreased even more, contrasting the hotness of the inside of the apartment which had reached a different extent.
y/n was wetter than before and the momentary fantasy she had a while ago, was slowly coming into life. San was snapping his hips against hers with little, if not zero, effort and the sounds her pussy produced got her flustered. The ardor she felt, though, for more didn’t give her the time to feel embarrassed.
“ohmygodd-”, she writhed spreading her legs without much thought now “harder”.
Her nails pulled his hair violently when he snapped his hips faster and as if it wasn’t even her first time having a dick inside her, she took it well.
Suddenly, San wrapped his arms around her waist and brought her on his lap as he sat on his heels on the bed.
She went dizzy but when she felt what was happening her needy cries were back, louder and more pathetic. San bounced her on his dick. She held on him for dear life, he groaned against her lips non-stop both from the pleasure and the effort and his hold on her back was too tight but she couldn’t notice as her mind was everywhere but her head... and as their breaths resounded in the small apartment and the fire kept burning on the fireside, the two fucked for the first time as if it wasn’t the first time.
If someone was to walk into this exact apartment, the first thing they’d see once inside is a young couple making love with the whole dark, yet white-covered, city as their background. The lights on, almost, all apartments on the neighboring buildings were on...their owners doing all sorts of things, from watching tv to working on their laptops, as the weather outside their cozy homes was getting colder and colder. The owner of this one just lost her virginity to the person she wanted the most and she did it on her favourite weather just next to the warmth of the fireplace.
y/n captured San’s lips in a messy kiss, spit and moans being its main contents. She took his piercing between her teeth but he didn’t let her stay to that. A moan filled her mouth before his lips got the best of hers, the metallic sound of the labret hitting their teeth was loud but so was the slapping of her ass against his thighs. Her insides felt like exploding from the way she was repeatedly getting penetrated and San felt almost the same, the only difference being that he felt like exploding from the pressure she offered him.
She suddenly felt an immense amount of pleasure building up and taking over her entire upper body “g-god yesyesyes”, she cried in every bounce.
“-gonna cum, baby”
San mumbled breathless but y/n was too lost in the overwhelming senses of her first orgasm to even respond to him. She stilled, cries getting the best of her, and as he thrusted a couple more times, her silky release covered the entirety of his condom.
San’s quick spurts got stopped by the thin silicon around him and, as he came, needy moans left him, moans that got mixed with low curses and his tired head resting on her shoulder.
They breathed loudly, chests heaving and bodies sticking from the sweat. He felt so good inside her, almost as if he belonged there but after some moments, the feeling of her own silk staying inside her felt weird.
However, y/n cupped San’s jaw and lifted his head from her shoulder. She took the time to observe the, now wet, hair and the drowsy eyes and she didn’t fail to feel his arms holding her back tighter, yet more lovingly now.
“I can assure you I didn’t fall just for your piercing”.

dabi ▪︎ ✝️
Despite being a murderous villain Dabi is extremely accepting of people’s differences,
He doesn’t bat an eye when you stammer, and despite his impulsive nature he hasn’t an ounce of impatience when it comes to you. He’s decidedly respectful to you, which to the rest of the League is more unexpected than Twice training his sanity. To be honest Shigaraki is almost insulted by how pleasant Dabi is to you in comparison to how he treats his boss.
Dabi doesn’t care enough to know what the League thinks though. He’s more focused on you. This pretty girl who’s willingly hanging around with the likes of him. You’re cute and you can actually stand being close to him without being repulsed by his appearance (he nearly thinks you find him kinda hot which only fuels the smug bastard’s ego),
He also feels lowkey protective of you. It’s no secret that in the past you’ve been the punchline of mockery and jokes and the thought of it quite literally makes his blood boil. If he so much as heard a whisper from anyone ridiculing you they’d be a crisp instantly. While he’s known to find glee in the deaths of his victims, Dabi will take a much higher sense of satisfaction from murdering anyone who dares to mock you.
Given he hasn’t felt that strong about anybody before he knows almost instantly that he likes you. He also knows that he’s not one to shy away from things, and his typically straight-forward mindset doesn’t fail him here.
If he’s honest with himself he’s been flirting with you since you met. Any chance he gets it’s a sly comment purred into your ear or a hand pinching your waist lighting. And given that you haven’t yet told him to “back off” you aren’t opposed to his advances.
In fact if he remembers correctly you’d been engaging with the same energy, except you were much more subtle about it, snorting at his jokes and holding his eye contact as well as complimenting his villainous efforts. If he didn’t know better he’d have thought you were sucking up to him.
But now he knows that there’s mutual feelings and while he isn’t a big ‘feelings’ kinda guy this is something entirely different. But he does know better and he also knows better than to just sit around waiting for you to confess your overwhelming adoration of him.
Now, as already discussed, Dabi shows the human decency of respecting you but there’s one occasion where he takes advantage of your impediment. He’s kinda a terrible person and although relationships are built on trust and respect and he does respect you, he takes the smallest amount of glee in that you won’t be able to interrupt him like he’ll interrupt you.
You’re probably in the middle of a conversation with Toga or Twice, talking about whatever, and while Dabi would normally wait for you to finish instead of interrupting, that time he didn’t. With your mouth open as you struggle to find the right words, he slid onto the couch next to you, an arm swung around your shoulders.
“How ‘bout we stop playing this little game of ours?”
Now you really have no words. He could see it in your eyes that you had no idea what he’s talking about. He’s almost disheartened by that but his overconfident ass and overt ego won’t let that happen.
“Oh, c’mon doll. You and I. We’re a match made in hell.”
You blink a couple of times before you grin at him. You can be your ass he kisses you right then and there.
Tumblr media
shigaraki tomura ▪︎ 🌌
When he first meets you he probably has no idea that a speech impediment is something a person can have, in my eyes he just doesn’t know much about, or considers what goes on in the other 7.8 billion people’s lives unless they directly affect him and his actions. Because of this I’m sorry to say but he’s not going to be extremely sympathetic or understanding.
Almost certainly tells you to “spit it out” the first time he has a conversation with you. He just doesn’t understand why you don’t just make your point. Given that he’s definitely the most ignorant out of the League, Compress or Spinner probably inform him afterwards that you have a speech impediment and that you’re not just scared of him.
The next time he engages with you it’s almost like he’s a different person. Although his patience isn’t exactly his greatest virtue, out of the few he possesses, he tries incredibly hard to be patient with you and (probably out of Kurogiri’s wishes) he begrudgingly offers you a “my… apologies… for the last time we interacted.” It’s almost a sneer but something about the fact that he said any semblance of an apology makes you think it’s not lacking in sincerity.
The man may be a villain and may not be overly fond of his fellow humans as a collective but he’s loyal to his allies, so long as they obey him. The League is his ‘family’, or the closest thing to it, and his pride is not too big to allow a measly little apology to damage it. Plus he was only apologising to you, it wasn’t like Dabi or Toga were the ones on the receiving end.
To tell you the truth, ever since your arrival in his field of vision he’s found something fascinating about you. It might be the fact that instead of being terrified you’ll face some grizzly death at the League’s hands, you’re more nervous that it’s members won’t like you. It might also be that for the first time in his life he actually likes looking at someone.
He almost certainly doesn’t really comprehend that there’s a term for what he’s feeling but you can be sure that he’s going to act on it. When it comes to planning a big mission or the like, Tomura is calculating beyond belief but when it comes down to his ‘personal’ life (if you could call it that) he’s as impulsive as they come.
He might not know exactly what he’s doing but you can bet your ass that he’s gonna flirt with you like crazy. Except instead of trying to make you like him he borders on trying to make you squirm. (He has no idea about how to make you like him back mostly because he hasn’t realised he likes you)
“Hiya there, princess.”
The pet names are the first thing you notice. The first time he addressed you as ‘sweetheart’ you blushed so hard it took half an hour for your face to cool down. Although it’s sorta(?) endearing, he can’t help but flush with pride when you struggle to respond (he’s a sadistic bastard who doesn’t quite understand his own feelings), almost as if he delights in being able to ‘take your breath away’.
The compliments that come after are almost more disconcerting.
“With eyes like those you could lure sailors to their deaths.” He’d just finished reading one of the books lying around about sirens and mermaids.
You’re sure to utter a soft, “Thanks,” anytime he ‘compliments’ you.
It’s all about control for him and although the idea that he likes you hasn’t been breached to either of you, he becomes highly possessive of you. Not in the sense that he’s taking control of your life or you but if anyone so much as looks at you funny it’s an insult to him. He’s childishly prideful and he now takes pride in you.
“Do you… do you… do you like… me?” you ask him.
He probably stares at you for a long time, mind churning away. You’d asked to talk to him in private and he’d be lying if he said a flash of excitement didn’t enter him. But he also couldn’t deny that your question didn’t stump him a little. He hadn’t thought about it like that till now.
“Yes…”
The smile that graces your lips after his answer is something he didn’t realise he’d been looking for but now that he’d had it once he wanted it again and again.
The change was instant. To say that he’d claimed you would be the most accurate response. You’re never further than an arm’s reach from him.
The longer your relationship stretches on for the more patient he’d become. He knows that you’re capable of getting your point across in a conversation regardless of how long it takes or if you stammer or anything else. He’ll happily wait for you to get your words out on your own whereas others might grow impatient and try to finish your sentence for you.
He might be patient with you but if anyone else disrespects or mocks you there is no second chance. His lack of remorse only makes it ten times easily to turn any offenders into dust.
He’s an awkward and slightly obsessive s/o if we’re honest but for the first time in his life he cares about someone and I’ll be damned if he isn’t going to treat you like an angel and anyone who doesn’t do the same better wish they’d never been born.

The Demon Brothers when Discovering they’re in Love
Spoilers: Mentions the end of the first season of the game in Belphie’s. If you haven’t read that far yet, you’ve been warned.
Lucifer:
Feels rather torn when he comes to this realization.
On one hand, he feels that the object of his affection has become too much of a distraction.
The amount of times he finds himself spacing out while doing paperwork because thoughts of you plague his mind is truly appalling to him
But still, he gets lost in the care that you give him and finds your reliability refreshing.
All the nights he stayed up to get his work done and you came in with some coffee to help him along, sometimes unprompted; it’s like you just know when he needs a little boost.
You even remember that he likes his coffee with a shot of poison. It’s truly the little things like that where he gets lost in your consideration.
Then there are the nights where even some small part of him realizes that pushed himself too far.
It would have been his fourth consecutive night without sleep if it weren’t for you.
“Luce?”
The man didn’t look up from his paperwork. Instead, he finished signing the document before switching papers and starting to skim through it.
“Thank you, MC. Just set it on the desk.” He said, assuming you had just brought him coffee as usual.
“I’m sorry.” You say as you step in. “That’s not it.”
The Avatar of Pride finally looked up and sighed as he saw your empty hands.
“Then what is it? I’m afraid I have neither the time nor energy to chat right now.”
“That’s the point, Lucifer.” You say, approaching his desk. “You need sleep.”
He scoffed at your words. “I can assure you that I am more than capable of doing my work without a few nights of rest.”
“That doesn’t change the fact that you shouldn’t, Lucifer.” You lay your hand on his forearm. “I know you are capable, but still. Please, just sleep.”
He looked up into your eyes and sighed. They held no hint of deceit or trickery. He had grown so used to looking for such signs in people, most commonly in his brothers, but in this moment, he only saw genuine worry in those beautiful orbs.
When was the last time he had seen such? When was the last time someone had shown real concern for him?
The man couldn’t recall.
“Alright.” He relented. “I’ll put the papers away for now, but I expect you to head to bed as well. It’s nearing 3am.”
It was that night, as he laid in bed, that he tried to decipher the feelings within him, floating around in his chest.
When he realized it was love, the man could only shake his head at the thought. After all, he had no time for such feelings, he told himself.
But the more he dismissed them, the stronger they seemed to be within him.
The man even spaced out during a conversation with Diavolo one morning and was mortified with himself.
Obviously, Diavolo was more curious than upset though.
After some pressing from the prince, Lucifer sighed and explained the issue that plagued him.
I don’t think it would be possible for Lord Diavolo to have a bigger grin on his face than he did in that moment.
The prince congratulates his friend on finding someone that inspires such feelings within him and asks about when he’s gonna ask you out.
Lucifer waves away his friend’s words, but the thought stays with him throughout the day.
It would be a lie to say that he doesn’t want to date you, but the man’s pride has always told him that he doesn’t need such a relationship with others, most especially a human.
However, you were no ordinary human. To him, you were special; he could admit that much to himself.
When he finally does ask you out, he’s as calm and collected as he is with anything else
…except for the hint of a blush on his cheeks, seen by only the most observant of people.
This boy is not as in denial about his feelings as you might think.
Mammon:
Mammon recognizes his feelings for you fairly quickly and is pretty honest about it.
At least, he’s pretty honest with himself with the subject, just not with other people.
He knew he had feelings for you since day one. What he should do about them, however, was the questions.
Yeah, he spent a lot of time denying it to his brothers, but that was mostly because he didn’t want you to know until he got himself sorted out.
That and he didn’t wanna risk his brothers ruining things for him. I mean yeah, he’s had some small crushes, but they never lasted long and none involved feelings this strong.
He just really, really didn’t want to fuck this up.
So he spent a long time keeping his feelings to himself; months easily passing.
Every time he saw you smile or when he heard you speak in defense of him with his brothers, he could feel his face go hot and chest tighten.
You really felt like his human when you did stuff like that. Still, no matter how many times he said it or felt it, it didn’t make it true; not officially at least.
One day, you both were hanging out in his room, studying together.
Well, you were studying. Mammon was just kinda half-assing it. He only agreed to this so he could spend more time with you after all.
Boy was getting all fidgety as he thought…maybe now was a good time to tell you?
You both were alone together, which made things easier. He definitely didn’t want to actually sit here and study either.
Not to mention, if he had to hide his feelings any longer, the poor boy felt as if he’d just burst.
“Oi, MC! I got something to say so you better listen up!”
Your eyes flickered up at him and then back down to your notes, searching for a specific section.
“I’m listening.” You say as you go back to skimming through the page.
Nervous boy looks away from you.
“So…the Great Mammon likes you, alright!” He told you, booming with fake confidence.
“I know.” You tell him, not even looking up from your notebook.
That’s…that’s it? You must not get it. His tone starts to falter.
“I…no! I don’t mean just like!” He leaned in closer to you. “I… I meant I love you!”
You lift your head and smile at him.
“I know.” You tell him before leaning in and kissing his cheek.
The Avatar of Greed’s brain starts to short circuit. Was it really that easy all along?
You laugh at how red his face gets and find it cute. You always had feelings for Mammon and honestly, as much as he tries to be otherwise, he is an open book. Not just you, but everyone knew he had feelings for you. It was just a question of when he would admit it and you had waited patiently for him.
Leviathan:
This boy struggles to even identify the feelings within him for the longest time.
When the feelings do form inside him, he starts becoming a lot more red in the face over the simplest things.
Blushy boy is overwhelmed by basically any compliment you give him.
“Holy–Levi, I was stuck on that level for past month!” You tell him, practically buzzing from excitement. “You’re amazing!”
Levi.exe has stopped working.
It’s not just what you say that makes his brain freeze up. It’s your sweet, excited tone, your smile. The fuzzy feeling in him that tells him he did good. All of it is too much for his brain.
Honestly thinks something is wrong with him when you fixed his tie for him one morning because it was messy and all he could think about for the next ten minutes was the fact that you touched him.
Wait, why did you fix his tie? He always wears it loose like that and you never commented on it before...
Otaku boy is very upset with himself right now.
Tries to avoid you for a while, but after a couple days of this, he heard you asking his brothers if you did something wrong and what you could do to apologize to him.
Poor boy felt bad that he was making you feel guilty when you didn’t even do anything wrong.
Invites you to watch anime with him so you can stop worrying.
He tries his best to act like his usual self with you and honestly, it was pretty easy with him getting so absorbed with the show.
At one point, he had to pause it to rant about something the protagonist just said.
“I can’t believe it! They completely contradicted part of her character progression from season two! And have the gall to completely ignore that they did it!”
Boy was so annoyed until you stopped him. You pointed out a couple moments from mid-season three and one from season 4 that actually make the protagonist’s words very in character for them.
In the back of his mind, he’s really beating himself up for forgetting that one scene between Tsusaki and Momo
If it had been anyone else or if it was you, but at a different point in your friendship, he honestly would be livid to hear you make such a contradiction.
Levi has bonded with you for so long at this point though that he’s just impressed with your memory and character analysis ability.
I mean, he shouldn’t expect anything less from his Henry, but still, the boy is still loving this.
He’s found someone that not only enjoys the same nerdy stuff that he likes, but can actually have discussions about at the same level. You understand him just like you understand the anime on the screen and it’s characters.
At some point, he kinda got lost in his thoughts about you, checking out in favor of such thoughts instead of your words.
A smile slowly formed on his face as he thought about just how great it was that he found you. Or like, that you came to him, I guess.
He got so lost in all the good things about your friendship that he didn’t even realize at first when his thoughts were becoming words off his lips and had no time to censor himself.
“Man, this is great. This is why I love you.”
Silence.
Levi started panicking, realizing what he just said.
You sat in your seat, confused and a bit flustered.
After all, he interrupted you mid-sentence to blurt that out.
“Gaaah, I didn’t mean that!” He shouted. “Okay, maybe I did; I don’t really know, I just–aaaah I’m such a stupid, no-good–”
His words are stopped by your kiss. It only lasted for a second though because the boy quickly bounced back and covered his mouth with his hand.
You give a small chuckle at his reaction.
“Don’t worry so much.” You tell him. “I’m glad you told me.”
“H…Huh??”
“I…” You blush. “I actually have feelings for you too. I’m glad you said something first or I would have never been able to do… that.”
Levi is stuck wondering what the heck just happened, but as he starts to settle down, he decides he doesn’t really care; he likes how things have ended up.
Satan:
Is another brother that is not really good with his emotions.
Instead of panicking or getting overwhelmed with this new feeling inside of him though, he faces it with calm curiosity instead.
It’s hard for him to fully understand any emotion that is not anger, but he’s always trying to expand his knowledge on such things.
So when he starts noticing how small things you do cause his heart to race or a blush creep onto his cheeks, he’s not shying away; on the contrary, he seeks you out even more, wanting to spend time with you so he can analyze these feelings as they come.
He starts asking if you need some help studying more often since the answer is almost always yes. Study sessions with Satan are always very productive.
He starts lending books out to you even when you don’t ask. He brings you books that made him think of you as he read them, but doesn’t tell you that and presents them as a simple recommendation.
Always feels a sense of satisfaction when you accept them and come to his room later on to discuss them.
Starts reading more books on interactions between people to understand his seemingly strong awareness of you.
Like, why your finger tips brushing his when he hands you something or your shoulder touching his when you both read next to each other just sends an an almost electrifying feeling within him or when even the softest expressions on your face can make him smile.
Starts with mainly nonfiction books and slowly finds himself searching within the realm of fiction as well.
Despite what some people might think, he doesn’t really read fiction books much. When he does, it’s usually horror stories or the occasional sci-fi story (he finds how human picture the future to be fascinating, but also a bit silly).
He has very little experience with romance novels; he finds them to be pretty repetitive and predictable.
Still decides to read some since they do in fact focus on interactions between two people.
Finds that a lot of his experiences are mentioned in these books.
….he also finds his mind imagining similar situations with you.
This is…not the answer he thought he would get. ‘Love’.
So it was love that he felt for you? He honestly never gave any thought to loving someone in this way before. It simply was never a priority of his
But if that is truly what he is feeling…he wants to feel it to its full extent like the characters in his books.
Isn’t actually all that nervous when he decides to tell you. Like always, curiosity leads him through.
Not to say that he wouldn’t be hurt if you rejected him; merely that he wastes no energy worrying about such an outcome.
The day he decided tell you about this conclusion, you were sitting with him on his bed, backs against the wall, reading books.
He heard a little gasp to his right and glanced over to see you staring at your book, eyes wide, and whispering things to the page.
‘Oh my god’, ‘Why would you do that?’, and ‘Nonononononono’ were just some of the words you spoke into your book.
Satan chuckled, finding he scene to be cute.
You let out a groan, mildly annoyed with him.
“It’s not funny.” You whined. “He just walked away from her. Walked away! Right when she tried to kiss him! I can’t believe this!”
“Oh really?”
“Yes really! He–”
The blonde cut you off with a kiss, brief, but a bit fervent.
As soon he pulled away, you dropped your book and covered your red face. He quietly picked up your book and read the page that originally upset you.
“This is the same story I read yesterday.” He told you, hiding his own red cheeks within the pages. “The one that made me realize I wanted to kiss you.”
You lowered your hands and stared at the blonde, eyes wide.
“R-Really?”
“Yes.” He lowered the book to look you in your eyes. “Our protagonist may have failed you, but I’d like think that I just came through for you where he did not. Am I wrong?”
“N..No.” You mumbled, eyes darting away from him and to a stack of books. After a moment, you added. “C-Can you do that again?”
Satan chuckled softly and took his chin in his hand, guiding her face to look at him. He stared into your eyes for a minute with a teasing smile before doing just as he was asked.
The boy never actually said the words like he planned to, but it was obvious that his meaning got across to you.
Asmodeus:
As the Avatar of Lust, Asmo is no stranger to feelings.
He had so many crushes during his time in the Devildom that he probably couldn’t even count them all.
They were always simple feelings though, flights of fancy that came and went, holding no real long term significance to him.
Don’t get him wrong; he finds a lot of fun/cute/sexy/beautiful people that he enjoys spending time with, but he sees them all as just temporary beings, coming in and out of his life without a second thought.
It’s still new for him to develop strong feelings for a person to the point that he actually thinks 'I never want them to leave’.
But with you, he does just that. Doesn’t realize he feels that strongly for you till you actually leave though.
It wasn’t anything unpredictable; the school year had simply ended. Everyone knew it was coming, but Asmo gave it almost no thought till it was here.
Your absence hit him harder than he let any of his brothers know. Still, he did he did usual activities; shopping, partying, spa days (though he noticed that he needed those more often than before).
He called you as often as he could. Would have probably spammed you with texts and calls if Lucifer hadn’t set a limit on all the brothers with when they can talk to you.
There really wasn’t an ‘Aha!’ moment for him discovering that he loved you. The question for him wasn’t if he loved you; it was more like how much he loved you that he questioned.
After dealing with your absence, he got his answer: a lot.
When you finally came back for another year at RAD, the boy was ecstatic.
Immediately jumps into hugging you, giving you little kisses on the cheek, and coming up with different reasons to keep you close.
Really clingy, but in a cute way.
Boy drops the ‘love’ word on you like it’s nothing.
Absolutely adores your blushy face after.
Is nothing but smiles when you said it back to him and wasn’t worried about it all.
I mean it is him we are talking about so of course you love him back.
Beelzebub:
Is slightly slow with the realization, but not the slowest of the brothers.
There was kinda already signs floating around about his feelings before he even knew it.
The other brothers suspected it, but unlike with Mammon, they just kinda left the big boy to handle it on his own and didn’t tease him about it.
Though he’s commonly helping all his brothers out with one thing or another, without even realizing it, he started treating you with the same level of care he usually only gives to Belphie.
He shares his foods with you and is always checking on you to make sure you feel okay (physically and emotional). Sweet boy knows how stressful it can be in House of Lamentation with all the arguing and his brothers’ shenanigans so he tries to makes sure it doesn’t bring you down.
He even once carried you to bed after you fell asleep on the couch after school. He felt bad you were so worn out from the day and didn’t want you to wake up with a sore neck from sleeping wrong on the couch.
Then there was one day when he managed to make you laugh--not on purpose, mind you, and the poor boy is still confused about what he did to this day, but the sound of your laugh filled with his cheeks red and the sweet boy couldn’t help smiling at it.
But once the moment ended and your laugh was gone, all Beel could think about was wanting to hear it again. He really wished he knew what he did the first time so he could replicate it.
He started asking around with his brothers about the moment that made him feel so warm inside and why he couldn’t stop thinking about you or that moment. They all waved him off with small smiles, telling him that he’ll figure it out on his own. Except for one.
Asmo was way to excited to follow the other brothers’ lead.
“That’s because you love her, silly!” He grinned at the redhead. “Now! When are you asking them out? I’ve been waiting foreeever to give you dating advice!”
Cue Beel’s brain buffering. And buffering. And buffering.
Ding.
Wait..love?
The boy smiled a sweet smile and walked away from his brother mid-sentence.
He kept walking till he found you in your room working on homework.
You lifted you head and smiled at him, mid-greeting when he wrapped his arms around you in a hug. You blinked in confusion, but hugged back.
“What’s this about?” You laugh from in his arms and the good boy loved the sound of it. In fact...
“I love you.” He said, smiling down at you.
It was a cute albeit random and unexpected moment for you, but also one of your favorite memories with him.
Belphegor:
Belphie was surprisingly quick with discovering his feelings for you.
He knew it was love, but tried pushing the feeling down inside of himself out of guilt.
Yes, you forgave him for using and killing you, but the boy hadn’t forgiven himself for doing it, which made his feelings for you just hurt him worse.
Sleepy boy tries his best to take care of you to make up for it, but feels like it’s not enough.
He’s always the first person to realize when you’re starting to stress out and pulls you to him for nap. Naps always help him take a break from stress and various other emotions that he doesn’t want to deal with and knew it’d probably help you too.
Nap buddy. That’s what you’d call him, causing him to blush and turn away from you.
With the poor boy feeling so complicated, it was actually you who confessed your feelings to him instead.
It was during one of your nap sessions, unsurprisingly. Belphie just stared at you, eyes wide in disbelief, before switching to a glare.
“You stupid--how can you say that after what I did to you?”
“Belphie...that’s in the past and you’re different now.” You tell him. “I love the person that lays next to me; he’s different than the man who killed me.”
Oh Lord Diavolo, the way your human mind works is so ridiculous to him.
Ends up rejecting you and finds a new place to take a nap. His anger quickly turns to sadness as he falls asleep.
Feels awful the next few days. He didn’t mean to hurt you; he just wants you to understand that he doesn’t deserve you after what happened.
Eventually approaches you to explain himself, hoping you’ll understand and let go of your feelings for him.
Instead, you launch into trying to reassure him that it’s not like that and regardless of what happened in the past, your feelings still stand.
He still thinks you’re idiot and tells you as much...but admits that he feels the same.
During the first two weeks of your relationship, the boy is surprisingly tense, but eventually accepts where you both have ended up and just lets himself enjoy it.

YUNGBLUD G/t One-Shot #1 (Dom x Borrower!Reader)
So, here’s the one-shot I was talking about! Again I am a bit shy about posting this but I hope everyone likes it!
Content Warnings: There is some strong language, but other than that this is entirely SFW ^^
Word-Count: 2082
Using your makeshift grappling-hook, you easily made your way to the top of the kitchen counter. All you had to do was grab some food and go back into the walls, a simple task that you only needed to do a few times a week. Although the few human's routines had changed a LOT (they used to go out on tours all the time, but nowadays they couldn't do that...) you still had a pretty solid borrowing routine.
While they watched TV in another room you grabbed a few scraps of bread and other crumbs that you knew they wouldn't care about. Normally that would be where you stopped and went home, but you noticed one of your favourite snacks on top of the breadbin... Surely it wouldn't be too dangerous to take some of that, right? You hadn't eaten it in ages and it was right in front of you!
With your bag on one shoulder, you used your grappling-hook to easily make your way to the top of the breadbin. You dropped your bag as you took a moment to look around the room, as you'd never seen it from this perspective before and it always fascinated you to look at how vast human's homes were. A room that they could easily walk across in seconds was a giant landscape to you and (although you'd always been told to fear and avoid them) you found humans so interesting! Not only were they so much bigger than you, but they also built the houses that you hid in the walls of and had such complex lives that you wished you could be a part of... to be honest, it made you feel really lonely and lost sometimes. You wished that you could live like them or let them know that you existed, but that would be far too dangerous.
You tried to push those thoughts to the back of your mind as you swiftly approached the food. It wasn't like you needed this particular snack, but it was one of your favourites and you figured that you may as well get some while you had the chance.
Little did you know that while you were grabbing food, your trusty bag had fallen into a glass that was by the breadbin! You dropped the food and rushed over, groaning to yourself when you saw your bag laying uselessly at the bottom of the glass.
"Shit..." You mumbled as you grabbed the string of your grappling-hook lowered yourself down. The last place you wanted to be was in a glass, but you couldn't exactly leave your bag behind! It was easy enough to grab your bag, but difficulty arose when you attempted to hoist yourself back upwards. Due to the length of the string, you somehow tripped up and got yourself tangled in it! As you attempted to untangle yourself the part of the string that was tied to your hook snapped, leaving you completely trapped.
And to make matters even fucking WORSE, you heard one of the humans entering the kitchen! In your panicked state you got yourself even more tangled up and could only pray that he somehow wouldn't see you, even though you were in plain sight.
You instantly knew that it was the human called Dom, as the first thing you saw was his fluffy, bright-red hair. No matter where you were in the house you always heard his voice, as he was really loud in comparison to other humans you'd lived with! You weren't exactly scared by his seemingly endless amounts of energy (like most borrowers would be) but there was no way in hell you wanted to be seen and caught by him!
"What the fook-" He muttered as he spotted you. All you could do was let out a terrified squeak as he effortlessly picked up the glass and tipped you out into his hand. You squirmed anxiously, but being tangled up in the string meant that you couldn't do much.
"Holy fookin shit-" He gasped as he stared at you in awe. You fit perfectly into the palm of his hand and the warmth radiating from it made you realise just how cold the kitchen actually was. After a second he glanced down at the string and realised your predicament. You instinctively flinched as he reached towards you with his free hand, but all he did was start to untangle you.
You were really taken aback by this gesture; Didn't humans normally like to keep borrowers trapped? Why was he trying to help you?
Within seconds he'd freed you, and you stared at him in bewilderment.
"Are you alright?" He asked as he dropped the string onto the counter.
You nodded, "Yeah- thanks-" Were the only two words you could muster up, as you hadn't spoken to anyone in such a long time and you'd definitely never even been this close to a human! It was such a strange experience to be held like this and it was a scary reminder of how tiny and vulnerable you really were.
"Um- What are ya exactly? And how are you so tiny? Are you even real or am I just goin mad?" He asked suddenly. Your stomach dropped as he lifted you until your vision was almost entirely filled by his twinkling green eyes staring at you with immense curiosity.
"I'm... uh..." You had no idea how to respond, your heart was absolutely racing and you were completely flustered. Of course you knew what you were real and that you weren't just a figment of his imagination, but actually being asked those questions (and being unable to avoid his gaze) was pretty overwhelming!
"Oh wait! Are ya like a borrower or somethin? I remember seein a film about tiny people like you, but I didn't think you were actually real!"
You simply nodded in response again, still at a loss for words.
"You're so fookin cute!" He beamed, "I can't believe this-"
"Dom, are you talking to yourself in there?" He was cut off by one of the other humans approaching the kitchen.
"Nah, I-" He began, but paused when he felt how you immediately flinched and curled into a ball at the sound. The last thing you wanted was for even more humans to know you existed! He seemed to understand this, as he gave you an apologetic look before adjusting his grip on you so that he held you in a loose fist and swiftly putting you and his hands in the pocket of his hoodie, "I mean yeah, I was!"
It was cramped in the pocket but surprisingly comfortable. The combination of warmth, his hands being wrapped around you and the slightly muffled conversation between him and the other human (where he explained away the situation) made you feel calmer than you'd expected it to. He absentmindedly stroked the top of your head with his thumb, which you weren't at all used to but didn't dislike. You overheard him say something about going up to his room before the motion of him walking made the pocket sway slightly.
He shut the door and sat on the bed before pulling you out of his pocket and holding you in his palm again. The fast motion was unexpected and left you feeling dizzy for a few seconds.
"Sorry about that- it didn't seem like ya wanted anyone else to see ya and I didn't know what else to do."
"It's fine, it's fine!" You replied. You tried not to sound too nervous, but the tone of your voice (and how much you were now shaking) made you seem anything but confident, "Th-thanks."
He couldn't stop himself from smiling as he looked at you. With his free hand he reached over and began stroking your back with the tip of his index finger and, although his touch made you flinch at first, you realised that it was his way of trying to comfort you.
"You're just too fookin cute! I can't believe I didn't even know you was livin here- Are there more tiny people like you?"
Your shoulders tensed up when he asked that and you shook your head sadly, "No, it's just me... I haven't seen another borrower in- in years-"
"Fook, that must get lonely," He said sympathetically.
You simply nodded in response.
He averted his gaze for a second as he tried to think of a way to change the subject, "How did you end up all tangled up in that glass, anyway?"
You felt an embarrassed blush creep onto your cheeks and you chuckled awkwardly before you told him, "I- let's just say I'm really clumsy and leave it at that!" You bit your lip before saying, "Thanks for saving me, by the way... But, why did you do it?"
"Why?" He tilted his head in confusion at your question, "Well, I couldn't exactly leave ya stuck like that! Why wouldn't I have helped ya?"
"Sorry- it's just- other borrowers always told me that being seen, let alone HELD, by a human was a death sentence..." You sighed.
"I guess that makes sense, some humans are fookin horrible," He replied, "But I'm not gonna hurt ya or anything like that, I promise. When I saw you stuck in that glass, well, I grabbed ya cause I had no idea what ya were at first-" He chuckled mid-sentence, "But then I just wanted to help and protect ya."
"I- thanks," You smiled softly and spoke shyly as you could feel yourself blushing even more, "It's been so long since I've last spoken to anyone, it's been nice."
"I'm glad I got to speak to you too!" He said enthusiastically, before asking you, "Where exactly do ya hide normally? Do you have, like, a hideout in the walls or something like that?"
"Yeah, in the walls-" You blurted out before remembering that you should probably keep the location of your hideout a secret.
"That's so fookin cool! What's it like in there?"
"I- it's kinda cold sometimes but it's okay, I guess..." You mumbled, not wanting to admit how bad it really was. Admittedly you had nice trinkets in your hideout and a comfortable enough bed, but it was such a confined space. Plus when you hid in the walls and heard the muffled sounds of the humans all talking and having fun together it made you feel extra lonely...
"You don't have to keep hiding in the walls anymore if you don't wanna."
You looked up at him curiously, unsure of exactly what he meant.
"Like, if you wanted you could come live in this room maybe? I could being you food and stuff, help ya out so you don't need to sneak around all the time..." He trailed off, wondering if he was even saying the right things.
You could feel yourself blushing even more when he said that, and you weren't quite sure what to say in response... You had been feeling really lonely (and he was really sweet) so his offer honestly seemed ideal... Plus, it wasn't like there were any other borrowers to stop you! After a moment you looked up at him with a smile, "Alright, fuck it. Just- promise you won't tell anyone else about me yet, please? I know you'll have to eventually but right now I'm not ready for it."
"Deal!" He grinned excitedly, moving the tip of the index finger of his free hand in front of you. The gesture confused you for a second until you realised that he wanted to do a handshake. You chuckled softly as you reached out and held his fingertip.
"Deal," you repeated the word, and as you looked up at him your heart fluttered. It was hard to believe that you'd actually sort of befriended a human!
"So, do ya wanna hang out for a bit longer now or are ya sick of me?" He giggled.
You thought about it for a minute before replying, "I- I wanna stay with you for longer, if that's okay?"
"Fook yes! This is so sick, man, you're so fookin cute!" He seemed endlessly excited about talking to you and getting to know you, and his words kept making your heart flutter even more. One thing you hadn't expected to happen today (or ever) was that you'd end up talking to a human, but it felt like one of the best things that had happened to you in a long time!

Salt Bridges (pt. 1) || Nicole & Evelyn
TIMING: A couple weeks before Christmas LOCATION: Al’s Diner PARTIES: @nicsalazar and @thronesofshadows SUMMARY: Nicole and Evelyn go out for dinner and find out they might have a little more in common than they previously realized.
Seated in the most secluded spot she could find, Nicole’s fingers picked at the extra hair tie on her wrist, looking up every time the door opened and the wrong person walked inside the diner. She was never early to any kind of appointments. Being early meant second guessing everything she thought she  knew. Questioning whether she had made it to the right place, on the right day or at the right time. Worrying about plans getting cancelled and not getting the corresponding text. Going back to recheck the information multiple times, though she had done it a hundred times before. She was always five minutes late to everything, perfectly calculated, to avoid that. She had to be early for this one, however. Against her better judgement she had invited Evelyn to a diner. A very loud one, it seemed. She couldn’t shake the feeling that food had been a bad idea. The worst kind of activity to do with someone she had only met once. The pauses, awkward silences, the sounds, the mess. Terrible, just terrible. She breathed out, forcing herself to not go there. Pointless to dwell on it when she was already sitting there, fifteen minutes earlier than they had agreed on, going over the menu for the tenth time. Besides, Evelyn had to be the nicest person she had met so far, she probably wouldn’t care. She wanted to spend time with her, right? No? She had never been to Al’s diner before, but she quickly understood the popularity. The smell was driving her insane. When Evelyn walked through the door, her frown finally relaxed. She sighed and offered a shy smile, keeping her gaze on the woman until she spotted her. She averted her eyes down to the menu as she approached.
Nicole was unlike anyone Evelyn had ever met. She didn’t usually eat, and Al’s was certainly not her usual sort of place, but if that was where Nicole felt most at home, she would agree. Though it seemed a bit contrary to what she knew about Nicole. She hardly minded. She could easily get a salad here and pick at it, let Nicole talk about whatever she needed to - or wanted to. She’d arrived a couple minutes early. The buzzing of the diner would have been overwhelming if she concentrated too much on it, and she was more than a bit puzzled about why Nicole had chosen such a place. Perhaps she had a certain craving for a burger. Regardless, Evelyn adjusted the skirt of her dress and tucked a stray strand of hair behind her head before she pushed the door open. Nicole was already there, she realized, gaze focusing in on the other woman. She made her way over to the booth, one in a far back corner that wasn’t right in the middle of everything. Okay, that made more sense given what she knew about Nicole. “Apologies for keeping you waiting.” Evelyn raised an eyebrow, nodding at the menu. “What looks good?”
She shook her head dismissively, eyes darting to the clock behind the register when Evelyn apologized. “Hey...uh, think you’re right on time, I just— ” she trailed off, unsure where she was going with that sentence. She just needed some extra preparation. Her fingers drummed on the menu, waiting for Evelyn to get comfortable in her seat. Fortunately for Nicole, the table provided enough space between them. She would’ve hated having to worry over the woman stepping into her personal space for the entire evening. Her biggest concern was the eye contact, almost impossible to avoid when Evelyn was sitting in front of her. Out in a diner, really? Bad idea. Terrible idea. Should’ve asked her for a walk instead. She cleared her throat to keep those thoughts at bay, giving the other woman a strained smile. “What looks...good?”, the repetition only served to buy herself more time to think. She lifted her eyebrows, seemingly forgetting everything she had read a minute ago. “I’ve...never been here before—first time” she couldn't recall who had recommended the diner to her, but they had clearly made a lasting impression for her to come up with it on the spot. By the smell of it, the burgers definitely won. And the fries. The chicken too. She couldn’t hate the waffles either, despite the milk. “Gonna take a wild guess here...but I think the burgers are kinda their thing” she let out a chuckle and pointed at a particular picture hanging on the wall, displaying a monstrous looking burger. “Would you eat that one?”
“I am often early, but it pleases me to see that you are, too.” Evelyn couldn’t help but smile again. There was something about being around Nicole that made her feel calm and at peace with herself. Evelyn often considered herself a fairly calm person, but there were people, whether she wished to admit it or not, who brought about a feeling of even greater calm, and Nicole already seemed to be one of those people. Even if she was human, she was a delightful partner in conversation, even if Evelyn could tell that this didn’t always come so easily for her. Furthermore, despite the fact that it had taken a good amount of persuasion, she was willing to let Evelyn dote on her and purchase things for her, which was always a plus in Evelyn’s book. “I cannot say that I am an expert on any of this,” she flipped through the menu, glossy painted nails tapping against the plastic. “Well, it is a popular place in town, or so the rumors say - it is often filled up from what I can tell.” She crossed her legs. “Well, I do think that is how diners go. I - well, no, not unless it is vegetarian, but I fully endorse you trying it. After all, is there not the cliché of when in Rome - and I am well-aware that we are not in Rome, and that I explain my jokes too much but I say go for it. I think I may get a salad.”
“About that…” her laugh was strained and nervous, but felt the need to explain. “I just— had to make sure I got a booth I wouldn’t...” pick up too many things. “Get overwhelmed by—  Sorry to disappoint but, I’m not— I’m not usually...this punctual” it felt strange being honest about it, and though her eyes darted everywhere in the room to avoid looking at Evelyn, she preferred it. Nicole was sure the other woman didn’t need the explanation, but seemed to be the way things were meant to flow between them. She glanced down at the menu again, but her brain was fixed on Evelyn’s tapping, distracting her. Most of the time she was capable of tuning out things like that, anxious thoughts occupying her brain enough to ignore sensory stimuli. Being so out of her comfort zone appeared to be affecting her in different ways. She tried her best not to pay close attention to Evelyn. Felt like intruding. The words pulled her back to focus. She assumed vegetarian options existed, but Al’s wouldn’t be the place to get them. “No, it’s...salad might be the better option”. Could she eat that burger? Yes, she was certainly capable of finishing that. Wouldn’t be pretty at all, however. She had a healthy appetite, and blamed it on being part-animal. “The…” she glanced at her with narrowed eyes, repeating some words under her breath. Cliché of Rome? What was she talking about? Sounded familiar, but she couldn’t recall what the saying meant. “I— I don’t…” Her smile was sheepish, but she was saved by the waiter approaching to take their order. She nodded to Evelyn. “I think she’s...her mind’s made up.”
“Of course. Do not worry, even if you are only punctual this time, that is still more than enough.” Evelyn grinned. “Remember, this is all about whatever works best as a distraction for you, and if this is working, then I shall certainly not fault you for that.” Had she been a more tactile person, and had she assumed Nicole was, too, Evelyn might have reached out to offer a hand to the other woman, but things being what they were, she instead held back. Not yet, and maybe not ever, but she enjoyed Nicole’s company regardless of anything else, and for now, that was what mattered most of all. “Salads are usually nice, and even if it is not of the highest quality, I did not come here for the food, solely.” Especially because I do not actually need human food in order to survive, though it was not as though she could tell that to Nicole. Not now, at least - perhaps, if they continued to get along as well as they had thus far, she would be able to be more open, but not yet. “Sorry, it is a cliché. When you are somewhere, you might as well do what is customary. Or something to that degree.” She shrugged, glancing up at the waiter. “I have. I would love a Greek salad and just water to drink.” She flipped her menu shut and let Nicole order, watching as the waiter walked away before focusing back on the other woman. “So, how is this for a distraction so far?”
“Right, yeah—“ Nicole let out a nervous breath, a thankful half-smile reached her lips. It was slightly overwhelming that Evelyn always knew the right thing to say. Almost too understanding. She wondered if that had come with all the training she experienced as a kid. A fleeting, less logical thought followed. Could she—? Maybe she was capable of reading minds. Crazy, sure. She had seen weirder things in her life, though. Shaking her head, she frowned at the absurdity. People just happened to be good sometimes, she reminded herself. “Yeah—- wouldn’t pay for a restaurant salad, really…” Maybe being an ex model had something to do with her concern for healthy eating, but if Evelyn wanted salad, then she’d pay for it. “Good thing you aren’t though… cause this one’s on me, okay?” quirking an eyebrow, she raised a finger at her. She had to remind her, just in case. Yes, she had invited Evelyn for more than food. It was strange. When they talked online, she knew exactly why she had needed her company. But now, everything seemed incredibly hazy. Something about...bones and pens? Why would she need to talk to Evelyn about that? She watched in silence as the woman placed her order, her pulse racing at the thought of going next. She asked for a beer first. That would put her into a chattier mood. Then she tripped over her words to order a chicken sandwich, after she was assured it came with a portion of fries. Would she eat that? She wasn’t sure, but at least the hard part was done. “I— uh...never been more distracted in my life” it was the truth, at least. Whether it was a good thing or not it remained to be seen. How long could the food take to be ready, 15-20 minutes? That was a lot of time to fill with conversation. She could get through it. “Thank you, by the way—for coming,” she lifted her eyebrows as she met the other woman’s gaze, surprised by her own voice. “Gonna owe you...a couple guitar shows.”
Everything with Nicole felt strange and new, even if the overall pattern of their conversation was hardly anything abnormal. Evelyn shrugged. “Some are good, maybe this will be one of those cases.” Not that she entirely minded either way. Human food was human food in the end, and though she certainly preferred that which tasted better, it never served to nourish her in the way that nightmares did. “Okay. Only because you did permit me to purchase that guitar for you and because I find myself rather fond of your company.” Evelyn raised an eyebrow. She enjoyed the time she had spent with Nicole so far as well as the conversations that they had, and so she saw no reason to do anything other than agree to spend more time with the other woman. “It is okay. Sometimes we find ourselves more keen to be distracted than others, and this is no fault of yours. There was a time a bit ago when I found myself unable to sleep for a long while and I know my focus was less than ideal.” She offered a shrug at the other woman’s remark. “Of course. I find your company enjoyable, and I have been looking forward to spending more time with you ever since we have met.”
Nicole nodded, despite being suspicious of the diner’s ability to deliver a decent salad. Though if Evelyn wanted to order something else after, she wouldn’t have a problem with that. “Good” her hand tapped the table with finality, as if her words settled their agreement. Her eyes stayed fixed on the table, struggling to shake the awkwardness off. She didn’t understand why Evelyn liked her company. A woman like her was likely to know people far more interesting than her. Better conversationalists too. But she was trying not to second guess herself too much. Unable to find the right words, she moved onto the next topic. “Was that— were you under stress or…?” She understood the connection between lack of sleep and lack of focus, but it was often triggered by something. “Never been too good at sleeping” her gaze lifted slightly at the admission, focusing on Evelyn’s shoulder. Her leg bounced under the table. For the longest time, she was haunted by the thought of going to bed and not waking up again, her body transforming in her sleep. “Guess... I was bound to end up with issues” it would’ve been easier to see a specialist, she reminded herself, though that would imply she was willing to get better. Her nerves caused her to laugh again, as Evelyn repeated she was good company. She was genuinely puzzled as to why. What had she offered that one time that seemed to go over well with Evelyn? Maybe she could keep doing that, with other people. Did people give each other feedback like that? Deep down she knew there was no magic formula. Maybe Evelyn was just trying to be nice. Embarrassed, heat rose to her cheek. “That’s...yeah— I think I...I do good with...bossy people. Not that— you’re...” she noticed the waiter approach, and she breathed out in relief “it’s not...not a bad thing”.
Evelyn sighed for a small moment, though it was evident that it was not out of frustration but merely out of relief in the comfort and ease that Nicole’s company provided. “Of course.” She watched Nicole’s fingers drumming against the table. “In a manner of speaking.” She didn’t wish to go into it with too much detail; didn’t want to risk explaining seeing giant eyes - Nicole didn’t deserve having to deal with that. “Luckily I was able to work through it, and that is all behind me.” Other things weren’t, other odd sleep behaviors weighed heavily on her mind - because she wasn’t supposed to have faults with her sleep, if anything she was supposed to be the one in control, particularly the negative ones that had seemingly overrun the town. “Oh? That is the case with a number of people. Even when you were a child?” She looked over to Nicole, though there was not a speck of judgement present on her face.  “Well, I do not think this guarantees issues. Sleep is incredibly complex, you should not fault yourself for anything.” She bit her lip to hold back a laugh at Nicole’s next comment. “You can call my bossy. I am well-aware I can be, though I think that the tutors I had as a child preferred strong-willed.” She fought away the urge to roll her eyes. Evelyn watched the waiter come back over, dropping off their drinks and a few tabletop condiments - including salt. Evelyn grabbed her drink quickly. Salt wasn’t even a proper condiment, though she supposed many people liked to have it on top of their dishes. “Well, so far so good, I think.” She nodded. “How are you finding it?”
“I’m glad it’s in the past,” she nodded. The fact that Evelyn had managed to work through her sleeping issues gave Nicole some sort of comfort. Maybe it would pass, maybe she just had to be patient. “Light sleeper” she raised her hand, as if she was taking the blame on something. “Noises and...I’m—sensitive to it,” she shrugged, debating whether to continue or not. “It got worse after…” no, she should’ve stopped. Being a light sleeper was one thing, nightmares were something entirely different. “Bad stuff happened” the tight smile she gave after her words felt odd, but she didn’t Evelyn to feel uncomfortable. She was used to bad sleep anyway. Wasn’t so bad. “Strong-willed, huh?” she repeated, her eyebrows rising as she broke into a smile. “Yeah, you terrorized those tutors, I bet” she pressed her lips together, trying to suppress her grin. Although she felt for the adults in charge, she found the thought of a spoiled little girl bossing tutors around very entertaining. Why did a kid need so much tutoring anyway? She should’ve been playing free outside. Regardless, bossy was good in her mind. She needed bossy in her life. She was never inclined to take the lead on anything.  Someone willing to push a little was a change she welcomed. She leaned back in her seat, letting the waiter place the condiments and the drinks. She shook her head when he offered to pour it in a glass. The bottle was fine. Without even realizing, her hand ghosted over the table before reaching for the salt shaker. Instinctively, she slid it to the end of the table, towards Evelyn. Then she rearranged the rest of the containers. She often had salt in her meals, she even favored that type of food, but she didn’t want to risk the chance of an accident in public. Her distraction meant she had lost track of their conversation. She looked up at the question, eyes widening. “How am I— finding what? oh...” she glanced down at the beer in her hand. She lifted it, sending Evelyn a questioning look.
“I am as well, as the case may be.” Evelyn looked over at Nicole with a kind expression. She didn’t wish to lie to someone who may well have been human, but explaining that her sleep expertise went beyond just being a childhood (and still) bookworm with too much time on her hands. Anything beyond that was too much, she knew that - even though she also knew that keeping the truth of what she was hidden away could only serve to cause trouble. She chose not to focus on that right now, and instead focused onto the woman across from her. She found that Nicole was someone incredibly grounding to be around, and she didn’t know why. Instead of getting all done up about it, she’d decided to ignore that and focus on how pleasant it felt. Even though the idea of having friends was still a relatively foreign and odd concept to Evelyn, she didn’t think to question it with a select few people - not Nicole, and certainly not Miriam - to a degree. Others too - Deirdre for one, even Lydia, before everything (and she chose to not think about all the what ifs) - things she never would have expected years ago when she’d been shut into her home, accompanied only by her nannies, tutors, and housekeepers. “You are permitted to be sensitive to noises - not that, well, obviously I am unable to control that - not that I would, if I could, I think people controlling whatever it is someone is dealing with is unjust, but I am sorry that you have that. It is no bad thing, we are all different.” Her gaze softened again. “Bad things? You do not have to expand, but should you wish to, I am able to listen. I am even quite alright at it, most times.” She sucked on her lip for a moment. “I think they used that in lieu of any number of other words they might have preferred to use were my father not their main source of income.” She scrunched up her face. She watched Nicole play with - rearrange - the salt and felt her shoulders tense up just slightly as she pushed it over towards her. Evelyn took it, careful not to touch any of it too much, and pushed it with the tip of one nail away from them, back to where the waiter had first placed it down. “Yes, that.” She nodded. “Though it may not be the quality that you could have if you came to my bar, I hope it suffices.”
Nicole’s eyebrows rose again, surprised to see the woman string a sentence with less eloquence than usual. Rambling didn’t seem to be her thing, but she had definitely over explained something that seemed obvious. Her eyes narrowed, finally looking at her face. “I know,” she said simply with a subtle smile, her voice small but calm. Had she been braver, she would’ve asked if she had issues with control. But she didn’t want to risk upsetting her if that was the case. Her eyes darted outside, a break she needed from the current conversation. When Evelyn offered an ear, she almost smiled. Her kindness wasn’t surprising. Or the way Nicole’s eyes began to tear up. She got rid of them, blinking quickly. God that was embarrassing. For once, the idea of sharing part of her story wasn’t terrifying. Time. It was the one thing she needed. The one thing stopping her from speaking to her. It seemed unquestionable that with time, Evelyn would be able to coax the truth out of her.
“I know” even smaller the second time. Nicole shook her head. “We all got baggage, no?” she said instead. She doubted anyone living in a town like White Crest was completely normal. The way she spoke about her tutoring sounded a lot less amusing than what she had pictured first. She frowned. “Was that… did you rebel against them? Or just— you being a kid”. With an apprehensive look, she noticed the way Evelyn moved the salt again. Maybe she was very particular about condiment placement? It was a little too close to the edge for her liking, though. If anyone were to run and— No. She was too paranoid, what were the chances of that even happening? She let the saltshaker where it was. They would be fine. Moving it again would look odd. “I’ve had a lot worse, trust me” the taste had never mattered much to her. Not when it used to be about getting drunk above everything. Tilting the bottle, she took a gulp. Yes, not great, she confirmed with a grimace. “I think I’d like some of that quality alcohol, though” She’d have to save for that. “How’s your...water? Sure it’s fancier at your place too”.
Nicole’s response remained simple - which was to be expected, it was how she was, Evelyn had learned. Though not for any sort of negative reason, nor any lessening respect. She did respect and care for Nicole a great deal, regardless of whether or not that was something typical of her. “I know - and yes, I suppose that we do. Though it is all different, and I sometimes do not see any point in focusing on such things.” She figured that she could leave things be for now, but if they talked again, she might poke a bit more - as she was rather curious but she knew that Nicole was someone who seemed to be a bit shy, at least when compared to Evelyn. She liked her too, and so she didn’t want to stress her out, at least not more than she already did. It was one thing to persuade Nicole to permit her to purchase a guitar, but this was something else entirely. “No, not especially, I simply did my own thing sometimes and so I think mostly being a child, but I also do not know quite what is typical for children, given that I grew up mostly on my own.” She took another sip of her water. She watched Nicole eye the salt and for a moment she wanted to ask her if she, too, was a mara. She didn’t, because maybe she wasn’t and was just curious about Evelyn’s constant movements. “Well that is good. You should come by sometime, and perhaps I will find nice beer and we can enjoy that.” She grinned. “I can make exceptions for those whose company I enjoy. Especially if it is at my place and not my bar, though I do not feel bad about giving you a more reasonable price than I do for most of my clients.” She grinned. “It is fancier, but I have always loved the fancier things in life.”
A half grin reached Nicole’s lips. She had to admire Evelyn’s uncomplicated mindset. She would’ve achieved a lot more had she moved on from all her traumas, she mused. “Not much of a dweller?” She wanted to make sure she was understanding her words right. She took another swig of her beer. “What’s your secret? Cause I’ve...I’ve tried telling myself— shit’s in the past and all that...” she frowned, unsure whether she wanted to go down that road or not. “Can’t get it through my skull, though” she shook her head, her fingers tracing the bottle before drinking again. She probably should’ve waited until the food had arrived, but the anxiety wanted her to keep her hands busy. Her expression turned serious as Evelyn expanded more on her childhood. “Typical children stuff, like...just— not behaving the way adults want cause...cause— they’re not wired that way yet. That’s pretty typical, I think” there was a lot of wrong in the way kids were treated, but she wasn’t sure how to put her thought into words. “As an older sister— I’m allowed to say, kids are really annoying, though” she quipped to lighten the mood, but didn’t feel right. Joking rarely did. “Don’t think there was anything wrong with you, trust me” she added calmly, offering a sympathetic smile. She entertained herself holding the beer by its neck and swinging it idly, an inch over the table. “Now that I’m...officially invited, yes. Booze is one way to lure me in” tasting actual decent alcohol did sound like something she’d enjoy. “Uh, isn’t— the bar your place?” She let out a chuckle, eyebrows furrowed. “C’mon, all water’s the same!” she knew it wasn’t true, but she was curious about what counted as fancy water. Looking past Evelyn’s shoulder, the waiter came into view. She wondered if the plates he was carrying belonged to them.
“Not if it is something I wish to not dwell upon, yes.” Evelyn paused for a moment. “I mean - yes, you are correct. If something is unsavory, I do not wish to put my focus into it. I see little reason to.” Which she knew made her seem overly detached sometimes, but that was better than letting emotions overwhelm her completely. “Years of practice?” She shrugged. “I do not know, I think being alone much of my childhood allowed me to be alone with my thoughts, and I have never thought that getting too done up does anyone any good.” She took another sip of her water - she didn’t know why she kept telling Nicole so many things, but she also found that she didn’t always mind. “I guess so. It may be typical, but I have no proper experience with children outside of reading about them - I can imagine you might find them annoying.” She pressed her tongue against the roof of her mouth. “I do trust you, though I do not know. That remains to be seen, for some.” She gave an off-handed shrug. “Yes, please come, and I have found that alcohol is the way to get many people interested. I can promise my selection is some of the best you’ll find here.” She giggled, the sound causing her to blink a few times extra. Perhaps there was something particularly special about Nicole. “You may say that, but there is a difference, sometimes.” She turned to see what Nicole was looking at, the waiter making their way over with the plates of food, and Evelyn watched as they placed them on the table, though as they turned to go, their elbow knocked against the salt, causing it to fall onto the ground and break, salt spreading out in front of their booth. Shoot. The waiter hadn’t noticed and before Evelyn could call out they’d disappeared back into the kitchen. Evelyn eyed the salt warily, scooting further away from it. “What a mess, right?” She bit her lip. “I - I have - I am unsure if I am able to clean this up.”
Nicole managed to conceal her disappointment when Evelyn mentioned the years of practice. If it were up to her, she’d want to be done dwelling right in that moment. It was up to her, she reminded herself. Getting out of her head seemed to be a theme in her life lately. Like Evelyn, she had been alone with her own thoughts for too long, but it had the opposite effect. She let out a tired sigh at that, but didn’t say anything. From the first time they had met, it was obvious there was more to Evelyn than what she presented. The things she said always left her more curious. Confused too. She was about to ask what remained to be seen according to her, but it was all interrupted by the waiter bringing their plates. She was surprised at how quick the food had come. The conversation hadn’t been torture at all. At her alcohol comment, she raised an eyebrow. “Alright, I’m sure that’s not biased at all”. She smiled, eyeing her salad with amusement. Before she could say a word, things went awry.
She tried to reach for the saltshaker, fingertips barely missing the container. Despite her quick reflexes, it slipped from her fingers all the same, shattering on the floor. Nicole winced at the sound, her heart rate jumping immediately. She could sense the heads turning in their direction. “Fu—Shit!” shit, shit, shit. That’s why she had moved it in the first place. Shifting slightly, she checked under the table if the salt had extended to their shoes. Despite the initial scare, there was a minor relief when she saw her boots were clean. Had it fallen differently, she would’ve had to give Evelyn an extremely awkward explanation as to why she couldn’t move or get up. If only her chest could get the message that there was no imminent danger, though. “It’s— it’s fine. I’m...I’m sure we can get the—” she trailed off, eyes fixed on the salt. She tried to think for a moment, but everything around her was distracting her. Was it her own scared heart racing in her ears, or— she glanced at Evelyn then, noticing her shying away. She frowned. Was she worried about the mess? It was bad sure, but they’d get someone to clean, no? Her own worries slipped to the back of her mind, concerned eyes focusing on the woman. Maybe, like her, noises freaked Evelyn out too. “What’s… are you— did the sound freak you out?” It’s okay, it’s just—” she worried her bottom lip between her teeth. It wasn’t just salt. Not to her, at least. But why would Evelyn share the same worries? “You’re unsure if...what?”
Evelyn couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at Nicole’s comment, finding herself glad that Nicole was smiling - whether or not it was entirely due to her remark or something else she wasn’t entirely sure, but she did know that she liked when Nicole was happy - which was odd, given that they hardly knew one another but it was also an unavoidable fact. Before they could say anything more, the salt had broken and she looked curiously at Nicole, regarding her reaction with a certain level of confusion. Maybe she was just very into things being clean and orderly, which this was distinctly… not. Nicole was panicking though - although Evelyn couldn’t directly sense it, she knew enough about how people behaved when they panicked that she could understand what was going on. “A bit?” Evelyn pursed her lips. “I mean, I like music for ballet to be loud sometimes, but suddenly…” her voice trailed off. “A bit startling. I suppose.” Nicole was still asking her things and she knew that she needed to come up with a further explanation, and soon. “If I can clean this up.” She repeated. “I mean, I am plenty able to clean just … not this. I have sensitive skin and it sometimes acts up.” Even she knew that that sounded ridiculous. “Could you walk over and get the waiter, maybe?”
Nicole was hardly an expert on human emotions, but for a second their eyes met she believed her own fear was mirrored in Evelyn’s eyes. It made everything much more confusing. What were the odds of— no, she put that thought to rest when the woman confirmed she had been scared by the sound, that made sense. Glass breaking was never nice to hear. “It’s fine...it’s okay” she repeated, shaking her head. Evelyn didn’t look like something who did extreme emotions. Even startled, she seemed to try and keep it together. On the edge of the table, her hand opened and closed a few times while she hesitated over reaching out to comfort her or not. “Yeah, yes— it was kinda loud but…” her fingers dug into her palm as her hand clenched into a fist. The moment had passed. Her eyes landed on the food they had both clearly forgotten about. Didn’t matter, she wasn’t hungry anymore. “What, you’re allergic to... salt?” eyes narrowed, tilting her head. Her chest stirred again. There was a sensation inside her, heavy and uncomfortable in the pit of her stomach. And when her eyes met Evelyn's again, something in her told her she couldn’t trust her. She leaned back, attempting to put some distance between them. She clenched her jaw. Whatever she was feeling, it didn’t belong to her. She liked Evelyn, she was nice. She had to forget about that cold distrust building within her because she heard a question. “Can I— ” she licked her lips nervously, eyes back on the salt. She could, technically. But Evelyn would find it incredibly odd if she circled around the pile instead of just skipping through it like any normal person unaffected by salt would. “But you— you’re closer to the… you’re closer to the kitchen” she reasoned.
She’d never run into this sort of problem in public before. Of course, there had been the time - when she was little - when one of her cooks (sillyannoyingridiculousawful she remembered thinking, after the fact) had spilled some while making some sort of dish for a party. Evelyn had been sat up on a stool, eyes wide, hair spilling over her shoulders when it had happened and she’d hopped off, eager to find a way to help the cook clean up, finding herself unable to move. She hadn’t truly understood what was going on, except that she’d started screaming at such a high pitch that one of her nannies had come running - and her father too, eventually. He’d brushed away the salt and all of a sudden she’d been able to move again. She’d grown up a great deal since then, a great deal that meant she didn’t react in such an extreme way any more but it didn’t mean that she couldn’t feel her body tense up, at least slightly - at least as much as she’d found herself able to. “I - yes.” She blinked rapidly -- too much for what was normal, but all of this was a reminder of how very much not normal she was and she took in a breath, because Nicole was good and there was no way she was a hunter (though she’d been so very wrong about that before, hadn’t she?). She looked over to Nicole for a moment, watching the other woman push herself away. She didn’t know what she was planning and she could feel her own throat growing dry. “I - no. I cannot. It - you spend time outdoors,” she began, knowing that that excuse was certainly unimpressive. “I -” she began again, pulling her lower lip in. “I cannot go past it.” She finally settled on, not daring to look at Nicole. “I will not be able to move.” If she was out to hurt her, then she would already have figured it out. “It - I have been this way for as long as I can remember.” If Nicole was completely normal, then she might think Evelyn was losing her mind, but some small part of her hoped that Nicole would just understand it all without any undesirable consequences. If not - well, the small amount of time that they had known one another had been lovely.
“What?” Nicole had to laugh at the excuse Evelyn gave. It was nervous and out of place, but in any other moment she would’ve found the humor in it. Her laugh died in her throat only a moment later. The woman’s next words didn’t sound real. Her expression morphed from nervous to puzzled in a beat, before registering the meaning. She had never been too bright, but there was no other way to interpret what Evelyn was saying, right? Ghost, spirits, they couldn’t move through salt, she recalled an exorcist’s words a few months back. But Evelyn didn’t look like a ghost. Her heart was drumming so loudly in her ears it was hard to form coherent thoughts. There was so much she didn’t know. There was another explanation, right? Something she was missing. Instead, she was jumping to conclusions. Because— It couldn’t be. Was that the reason they had connected so quickly? Her chest heaved, eyebrows furrowed so tightly, she believed the lines would stay there forever. Just briefly, she allowed herself to consider— After years by herself, had she finally found someone like her? No. She was grasping at straws. There was nothing else to draw that conclusion from, except for the salt. That could mean anything. It seemed a waiter had walked past the table and spotted the mess, muttering something about cleaning it in a second, but she couldn’t tear her gaze away from the woman. The salt was forgotten. She didn’t care about it anymore. It was nothing. Just a catalyst for something much bigger. She leaned forward, eyes studying her intensely. She wasn’t sure what she was looking for, a clue, a tell, anything from the woman to would give away that they were more alike than she had initially thought.
“Evelyn,” Nicole called gently, despite how uncomfortable she felt using people’s names. Too personal. There was so much she wanted to ask, so many thoughts jumbled together. She was on the brink of possibly finding someone like her. The first one since— really? Was she gonna cry already? She let out a shaky breath. “I’m— what do you mean you can’t cross salt. Look— look at me,” she kept her voice as even as possible, but the words rushed out of her mouth, pushing and demanding. She didn’t want to sound angry — far from it, she only needed confirmation— but she doubted she had the nuance in her tone to not startle Evelyn. “You’re not...are you— are... are you—” she clenched her fist, frustrated. And when she thought she wouldn’t let it out, it came a whisper. Hopeful, curious, charged. “Are you not... human?”
Nicole was laughing and it didn’t seem to be right at Evelyn, at least not as far as she could tell. Except she wasn’t reacting to what Evelyn had said - at least not entirely, and she took a sip of water -- too much, filling up her mouth so much so that she could just focus on that and not whatever was going on with Nicole. Don’tbeahunterdon’tbea - she forced those thoughts out of her mind, because if she were one, Evelyn would have to find a way to deal with that but she didn’t believe that Nicole was. Her disposition was far too gentle, too nervous, too kind to be one. “What?” Evelyn’s eyes grew wide, jolted entirely out of her thoughts, though she found that she didn’t mind Nicole actually using her name - was this was it was like to have would-be friends? - she shook her head. “I - I -” Look at me. She did. Looked over to Nicole, avoiding direct eye contact but taking in her kind eyes, the way that her hair flowed over her shoulders. “I - no. Not human.” Her voice was barely above a whisper as she tried to process everything. Her tone had changed and Evelyn could feel her own expression shift to one that was far more calm than it had been just moments ago -- the waiter not returning the furthest thing from her mind right now. “Are - are you not, either?” Was she a mara? That could have explained while Evelyn found herself drawn to her - she knew that Nicole wasn’t a ghost - Evelyn knew that she couldn't see ghosts, no matter how much she might have wished to (but then again, with what Nadia and Deirdre had told her she wasn’t quite as sold on those any longer). That didn’t mean there wasn’t another species out there that had some of the same difficulties as Evelyn did. “I - can - I  - I am a mara.” She bit her lip, sighed gently. “I hope that is okay.” Her voice got quieter then, nails tapping on the side of her water glass.
Silence hung over them as Nicole took everything in. For once, she couldn’t tell whether it was uncomfortable or not. It was just silence, she had too much to process to care about social cues. She had rehearsed for the evening dozens of times in her mind. Prepared as much as one could. Went over every scenario she could create, from decent, to bad, to terrible to disaster. Evelyn revealing she was not human due to a broken salt shaker hadn’t been in the cards. It was a struggle to figure out how to take the revelation. They should’ve learned about one another with time, when they had trusted each other enough to say the words without fear. Not in a loud dinner because of a preventable accident. She wasn’t human, Evelyn’s words confirmed. Her heart skipped a beat. Excitement? Was she like her, then? She didn't get the chance to ask. “I— am I? Uh...I—” she held her breath at the question. That was new, had she been too obvious? It had always been easy to conceal her otherness from the world, pass for human, stifle the animal so it was nothing but a dull ache in her chest. She had never told anyone before. Then again, no one had asked so plainly either. She didn’t fancy her chances lying, not when she never had a good poker face. It all showed in her eyes, she had been told. And Evelyn didn't deserve lies anyway, not after her unprompted honesty. Maybe she’d read her mind, somehow. Maybe she wouldn’t have to say it.
The woman continued talking, and the pressure in Nicole’s chest was too heavy to ignore. Was it disappointment? A Mara. She didn’t know that word. They weren't the same, then. She was something else entirely. A different creature? She had new questions. “I don’t—I’m not sure what...what’s that”. Evelyn’s last words made her throat tighten. She swallowed hard against the knot, blinking away the tears she knew had to be gathering in her eyes already. Was it okay? How many times had the woman asked that and gotten a negative response? How many times would Nicole have to do that if she ever felt brave enough to be honest? Unsure on what to say, she settled for what she would’ve liked to hear instead. “That’s— that’s okay. Of course, why wouldn’t—” she mumbled, lingering on the hand tapping against the glass before her eyes flicked back up, bright and understanding. She wanted to reach out and offer some comfort, but her limbs didn’t receive the message. “You’re good, please don’t think— I’m not scared, or anything”.
She let the moment hang between them, quiet and though Evelyn liked to consider herself someone who knew how to use her words well, she felt at a loss for them - for just now, she hoped, though she was not entirely sure. She certainly knew that she hadn’t gone into this evening expecting for her friend - for whatever Nicole was - to find out that she wasn’t human. This was supposed to have just been a nice outing. Something normal for Nicole, something that made her feel comfortable. She couldn’t help but feel her mind flash back to the night with Alain, when something else entirely normal and supposedly benign had outed her as not-human. Thankfully, Nicole hadn’t left her yet and Evelyn breathed a small sigh of relief.
She was stammering though and Evelyn pressed her hands against her thighs for a moment, willing any calm energy to concentrate then and now - to focus and not freak out about whatever Nicole’s eventual response would be once she was able form complete sentences. She’d give her time though - that much she more than deserved, having something like this just suddenly dropped on her.  “I - it is okay. I do not expect you to know.” She pressed her thighs against one another, taking in another deep breath. “I - I feed on fear.” Her voice was so quiet now, she wondered if Nicole could hear. “I - I promise I do not feed on fr - those I - people I like. Trust. You. I have not and shall not ever do that. I am a living nightmare, I suppose. That is likely the best manner of phrasing.” She shook her head. “You do not have to be scared of me. I - I am not bad.” She didn’t know why she felt such a desperate need to insist upon this, rather than to just leave things as they were - to state it more assuredly. “Thank you. Not everyone responds well, is all.”
If Nicole thought further explanation would clear things out, she was wrong. Evelyn’s words didn't make sense. “What is—” What exactly did she mean by feeding? How could anyone feed on fear? Impossible. She eyed the untouched salad then, swallowing all the questions she wanted to ask. “What...” referring to herself as a living nightmare didn’t help either. Knowing she wouldn’t be able to understand, she focused instead on how the woman acted. Someone who was trying her best to stay calm, whose words weren’t exactly the most coherent. Too familiar. Despite learning she was a creature who fed on fear —whatever that meant—, Evelyn had never looked more human to her. Her breath grew shallow as her throat tightened. How could she judge her for something she didn’t ask for? It wasn’t right. They lived in a cruel world, scared, persecuted, ashamed —in her case— of what they were. None of it was right. It hurt to hear Evelyn defend her nature to her. She looked down to hide her face, tears were threatening to spill. Great, had she upgraded to crying for others too? Worst of all, she didn’t know the right thing to say. Evelyn was baring secrets and she didn’t have the emotional capacity to deal with it. There were more barriers between them than just the table.
“I’m not scared of you” Nicole repeated, voice low but firm. “I don’t understand…I don’t get anything of what you’re saying, but listen—” she licked her lips as her mind went blank. Where was she going with that? She was about to find out. “You’re—” she looked at Evelyn again, heat rising to her cheeks as it often did when she was ashamed of being honest. “For some reason, the first person I thought of when I needed to talk... was you,” the reason they were at the diner, the catalyst for all the events that led Evelyn to reveal she wasn't human. New information could change opinions, sure, but she was talking to the woman who bought a guitar for her the first hour they met. There was hardly anything that could change her mind about the kind of person she was. “And you came. You said yes! To meet a— You don’t think I already know you’re not bad?”. She swallowed, getting her thoughts together. She had a lot of questions. Some that could wait until Evelyn felt safe enough with her, but there was one she couldn’t keep inside. “What did you mean by...how can anyone feed on fear? that’s not—it’s...it’s not— you can’t eat that”.
Nicole was doing a number of false starts and reformulations and Evelyn wished, if for only just a moment, to take back everything that she’d said. It was too much, maybe. Even if Nicole wasn’t getting up and leaving it could just as easily be all too much to expect her to understand. As much as it frustrated Evelyn when people didn’t seem to understand, she also couldn’t expect them to - though she figured that was more her father’s words getting to her - they often stayed away but seemed to have a tendency to reappear in moments of doubt - they had, shortly after she’d broken up with Alain and she found that they were reappearing now, much to what would have been her dismay if she’d let it.
Instead, she refocused on Nicole, who seemed to have found her own voice again and Evelyn let out her breath. “Good.” She replied. “You needn’t be scared.” Since when am I supposed to sound like my tutors from when I was a child? She mused for a moment. Nicole’s next words made her bite her lip softly, gaze growing soft, and she wasn’t quite sure what to make of the stirring of emotions that ran through her body, then. She imagined for a moment that this must have been what it would have been like to have had a friend (that word was alright to use, she figured, because that was the only way she could describe Nicole) as a child, having someone who wanted to come and talk to her and not because of her money. At least, she figured as much, given how much Nicole seemed to actively push away her offers of aid for any number of things. “I know, but I just - some see those who are not human - and they push away, they think that this changes things, even though it was not. I know of plenty of proper humans who have done more harm than anyone who is not human has ever done.” Her hands found her glass of water again and she took in another sip, Nicole’s next question not a surprise. “It - well, it is the way my body processes things. Truly, there are times when I do not understand it myself, but I just know that I - well, I can touch someone and create nightmares and that provides sustenance. Perhaps it is like how plants can take in sunlight and change it to nutrients?” She shrugged. “I am able to eat normal food too, I just need to feed on nightmares in order to survive.” Another sip of water - “I can explain further, best as I can, if you would like.”
Nicole considered the woman’s words for a second. She didn’t agree with it, but it made sense. She understood Evelyn because she wasn’t human either. She could relate. But had she been human, with no knowledge of the strange creatures that walked among them, she would have reacted differently to the revelation. She would’ve thought the woman was crazy. “That’s pretty dumb of them” to push away someone because they were different. Though, if she was being understanding with Evelyn, who could be dangerous to others, why couldn’t ignorant humans receive the same treatment? Maybe with more knowledge, their minds could be changed. The moral dilemma gave her a headache. “But I guess— guess we can’t be too hard on—on...people ” she shot a quick glance at the woman, catching herself before she could say humans.
Nicole’s eyes narrowed at the way Evelyn explained feeding, the plant analogy helping to better visualize it. It sounded terrifying and fascinating at the same time. To have the ability to unleash that sort of terror at her fingertips. It brought on more questions, but it was hard to articulate any. More than anything, it helped her understand why Evelyn had tried to reassure her she wasn’t bad. How scary were those nightmares? Could people die because of the distress? After what felt like eternity for Nicole, the waiter rushed to their side, endless apologies spilling out of his mouth. She didn’t care, she understood. The diner was full and busy, the staff not big enough to cover it. She eyed him briefly as he swept the remains of glass and salt. Only then, the pressure in her chest eased, her heart slowing down. It had to be a relief for Evelyn as well. “Yes, please—” a shy smile pulled at the side of her face. She glanced down to Evelyn’s hands, following every unintentional move. “So just… you touch someone and— does it depend on…” she paused, grabbing her beer again. She toyed with it instead of drinking.“The worse the nightmare is, the— your meal is it….meatier? or—” she cringed at her wording. She had to sound stupid.
“It may be dumb, but it also cannot be helped, sometimes.” She knew that was why, despite everything, she still felt some level of sympathy toward her father. He should have acted better with everything, but in the end he was just scared. Evelyn knew his position and title meant nearly everything to him. So much so that he stayed married to her mother even when he knew what she was. So much so that he kept aspects of his life - so many aspects - secret. Made Evelyn play human - because being anything other than perfectly normal was frowned upon. Nicole’s words were a breath of fresh air and it made things feel at least a little bit okay. She shrugged. “I guess not.” Try living with this for years, try finding out what you are and having answers and being shut down. Try being so alone in the middle of a party thrown just for you. Though she knew that there was no way that Nicole meant any of what she’d say in any sort of negative way, Evelyn couldn’t help the desperate and uncomfortable feelings that rolled throughout her whole body.
The waiter arrived finally and had Evelyn been younger, more prone to her snobbery (though she knew that she certainly held a good bit of that now, still), she would have scoffed, asked why they had taken so long. She didn’t, now. She offered them a small smile, as if to say It does not matter. As if to entirely avoid that something so simple could so easily render her helpless. Turn her into a child again, too-long hair and bright eyes, melting down in the house’s kitchen. At least this hadn’t turned into that. At least she was safe. “I have to concentrate.” She murmured, fingers brushing along the tabletop. “I - well, they are fulfilling on different levels. I am unsure entirely, but I do find a certain satisfaction in ones that are worse, I suppose. It creates more fear which is - well, that is the essence of what I need.” Thankfully nobody else was paying them any attention. “How about we get out of here? My bar is open whenever I please, and I can tell you more there.”
“That is…” Nicole should’ve been scared, right? A person was telling her she was capable of causing people nightmares at will in order to survive. That was unlike anything she had seen in town. She should’ve been scared, because she generally had common sense. But each new bit of information she learned, only made her more curious. Only made her wonder what else was out there, hiding in plain sight. “That’s kinda cool. Shit— I mean I wouldn’t like to be the...but—” she had believed Evelyn when she said she wasn’t bad, but that sort of power in different hands—it had to be dangerous. “Oh” she was surprised by Evelyn’s suggestion to leave. Neither of them had even touched the food yet, but she couldn’t blame the woman for wanting to get as far away as possible from the diner. She looked down at her plate as she pondered. They weren’t exactly in the right place to have that sort of personal conversation, she figured. As loud as the diner was, she had to assume there were others like her among them, with keen ears. Who might not take Evelyn’s revelation as well as she had. For their safety, it was probably the best idea to follow the woman’s suggestion.
Nicole found that she didn’t mind going either.  She was drained already from being surrounded by so many people. Trying to tune out noises and smells was a struggle. She still couldn’t figure out why she had chosen Al’s to meet in the first place. Bad idea from beginning to end. She glanced at the now clean floor. They were allowed to leave now, so why not? She tried to push down the guilt over the disastrous evening. She couldn’t have known. It wasn’t her fault. “Uh— sure. Yeah, that sounds— why not?” it took everything in her to fight the urge to call it a day, and just go home, avoiding more social interaction. Deep down is what she wanted, but what she wanted wasn’t always what she needed. “Let me just...” she bit the inside of her cheek, awkwardly waiting to be noticed by the waiter to ask for the check. “I could really use a drink— a real one, after all...this. So, let’s— let’s  go”.

The reaction was really interesting. I agreed with a lot of Bright’s point and it was nice to see a different perspective. I really wish they had showed it in the show. You can tell Bright is really attached to Sarawat and it hurts his heart to see the pain. It also showed me that the finale could have been loads better with a few cute scenes and a proper discussion. This is what Bright was talking about. At the end of the day it was the lack of communication.
Ahh I loved that reaction video and I loved seeing Bright talking about Sarawat’s point of view. I’m sure one of the reasons they bought him was the amount of shit he was getting from some people. This however also showed me what the show lacked. Though I loved 2gether.. most of the time we saw things were Tine’s perspective. It would have really been good to see it from Sarawat’s perspective in the last episode. You can also see Bright’s frustration at times with how they portrayed Sarawat.
I assume you watching the reaction video atm! Let me say this boy gives me heart attacks like how thoughtful he is and wants to explain sarawat’s every move since episode 12 and why he acted the way he acted. I felt like he kept it inside for so long that it needed to be spoken out like when he wanted to see a reaction from P’Jennie how he looked away and then right back at her. He was so stressed and on the edge the whole time! How he repeatedly said he’s sorry for Sarawat cause he knows that everyone was sorry for Tine but didn’t get to see/understand his side of version. He also zoned out in a couple of scenes like this boy has sooo many emotions and it feels it’s too overwhelming for him(I feel that at least). I’m so grateful that Bright exists and talk about loving a man and to feel love so freely!! He could’ve said so much in the end but instead it was more like an apology for hurting Tine and how his character works. He understands Sarawat so much. I’ll cry. I didn’t thought my opinion would be that long... he’s speaking so enthusiastically about Sarawat and what his character taught him. This boy is really a blessing for the 2gether + lgbt+ community I love him he’s a child like a babie :((
Bright just wants to smooch his co-star but the universe won’t let him.
hiii anons!!! i’m gonna combine all of your asks into one bc we’re all essentially talking about the same thing.
yeah. so. the ep 13 reaction video. lets talk about it.
firstly, i ... it will never cease to astound me just how much bright loves sarawat? he knows him with every fibre of himself. he knows sarawat right down to the tendon and bone of him. like. bright’s taken so much time out to character study sarawat, get into his psyche and mind and heart. and. i hate novel! sarawat, but, bright’s taken that character, and made it his own, completely transforming him. and that takes so much understanding and commitment and passion. truly, we don’t deserve bright. we really don’t. and i am so thankful we got bright to play sarawat. no body else could have done sarawat better than bright. so much so that like .... they both overlap, bright and sarawat. sometimes its hard to distinguish where sarawat ends and bright begins.
and like some of yall said, i think it was a very clever ... move (?) ... to star bright to react to ep 13, solo, without win. bc, like yall mentioned, and like im gonna dwell on now: 2gether was entirely from tine’s perspective. it reminds me a bit of skam, in that way, that ... ya know even tho i’ve watched skam and i should KNOW this, but i still forget just how POWERFUL perspectives are. and how much they influence your way of thinking. i touched upon this after ep 12, but now after watching bright react to the whole of ep 13, like, it comes back to that. we saw everything through tine’s eyes. and so, it felt like, sarawat’s side needed to be justified. but it could never be done on the show bc the show was about tine’s perspective. and the only way it could have been done, is if they both would have talked.
which brings me onto my next point, that bright mentions - the biggest barrier and fault was they both don’t know how to talk. i touched upon this just yday actually, how sarawat is someone who doesn’t know how to talk, he’s more of a do-er (like bright said), whereas tine is someone who overthinks himself to the point of sickness and anxiety and so he doesn’t know how to voice that out, and like bright said, tine is someone who is EXTREMELY obedient - if someone says something to him to do, tine will go along and do that and won’t say no to them. which means that tine himself has had very little experience of going with his gut and how he feels, and when he comes face to face in a situation like that, it becomes Very overwhelming for him.
so, it was really clever to have bright on, solo, to explain everything from his and sarawat’s perspective. especially the bit where bright was like “everytime someone flirted with tine, wat never once questioned his trust for tine or their love, he would go directly to the person in question and deal with them.” and ... ya know, that’s more easier for sarawat to do, than it is for tine, who isn’t like that at all - like bright said, tine is the more obedient one who just follows along everybody else’s suggestions and has never really used his agency to decision make for himself.
and so ... yeaah. like. people sent a LOT of verbal abuse to bright after ep 12. and bright even said he knew it would happen, bc the entire series is from tine’s perspective, he understood that from well before. so he says he was prepared, but he still didn’t come on social media that often bc he got so much verbal abuse over it.
and like, i’ve said before, just like how jennie and go said in the reaction video, that we should have got less flashbacks in the finale, and instead, we could have had a more sweeter scene. that could have been and should have been a proper, open and honest conversation between tine and sarawat, or, as bright suggested, a kiss. so, ya know, as some people were saying that maybe bright was just uncomfortable about kissng win??? no. no he wouldnt be AT ALL. it just ... never occured in the script. but yeah. i think .......... it really did get to bright - that sarawat never on the show got a chance to explain.
which honestly makes me feel like thats why half the time he would improvise as sarawat? and add in things he KNOWS sarawat would/should do bc he KNOWS the depths of his love for tine so he used those moments so smartly to show that (a sign of v v v good acting!!!). like a marriage proposal, or putting tine’s hand over his shoulder, or adding in cheek kisses. like. bright’s really gone over and beyond for sarawat and tried to show just how intensely in love wat is with tine, with the little space and room for manoeuvre that he got granted.
idk if the some of scripts were written in a rush? i mean, 2gether was the FIRST show from gmmtv to air in 2020 - if i’m correct???? - so, between november to february, the had to get everything shooted and done, but they MUST have started script writing earlier than that. idk ...
personally, i do wish we did get some more of the novel scenes in the show. like, sarawat and tine coming out to sarawat’s dad was SUCH a BEAUTIFUL scene in the novel but we never got it on the show. why? bc it was from sarawat’s perspective, not tine’s. another really nice scene, is the cinema scene where they held hands, but on the show we got a different version of it, where instead, they talked about a happy or tragic ending before tine decides to accept being wat’s boyfriend and they hug (i like that scene though, purely bc we got to see win’s crying which was !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AMAZING! and the hug was SUPER sweet!).
but yeah, it .... idk. seeing bright in that reaction video in some moments Hurt. bc .... there was so much he wanted to say but he kept it in. and he’d just glance and sigh and look down or away bc he GETS sarawat in a way i think nobody else does. and so ..... had the show had more time, or was able to cut out some scenes and replace them with other and rewrite bits, we could have gotten sarawat’s perspective, and not had the show completely butcher sarawat’s image in ep 12 the way they did, only for them to then have less than one episode, a finale no less, to save his face again, whilst also tying up every other plot at the same time.
like, bright has SO MUCH to offer as sarawat. and bright says he doesnt know about a season 2 (yet), but, ya know, if we ever got to see tine and sarawat again, i kinda wish they allow bright more freedom - bc he understands his character a lot more better than the writers do, i feel. he gets sarawat on soul deep level. so i just wish they’d give bright more freedom to be sarawat. and i have no doubt that, if that had been the case, we would have gotten a LOT more physical intimacy between tine and sarawat. i’m not mad about the lack of it, but, i’m assuming that bright would have really made sarawat be a lot more physical with tine. but at the same time, i agree with bright when he said that tine and wat are people who show their affections to one another in private - which is why i am SO ...... upset that we never got to see tine and wat ALONE in the one year later scene, bc, like i said, they WOULD have been a LOT LOT LOT more intimate then. but they weren’t alone. so they weren’t intimate. which. yeah.
but at the same time, ya know, bright’s so .... like. he gets where the hurt for tine stems from. just like how he gets sarawat’s character, he gets tine’s too. but like he said, he’s lived and breathed wat since day one - and so, i think he just really wanted a chance to explain everything from sarawat’s point of view. he really didn’t need to apologise at all, and yet he did, on behalf of wat hurting tine.
so whilst i know its just said that oh ya know bright should just write the whole of s2, i kinda wish, if we were to get one, that they writers would sit down and LISTEN to bright and win and take some input of theirs in, since, they’re the ones who KNOW their characters and play them.
but yeah, bright’s mind. his intellect. his knowing of sarawat ............. it will never cease to amaze to me just how dedicated he was at an emotional and psychological level to play sarawat.

"Aha! Gotcha! Any last words?" Reggie holds his hands up in defense, cornered, unable to escape. He stares his enemy down, not wanting to give up his guard.
"No need for last words when I won!" Reggie shouts. He immediately reaches into his back pocket and forms his fingers into a fake gun. He proceeds to shoot at his enemy in front of him, throwing a pillow in place of a bullet. The enemy is hit, flying backward onto the ground, crying out in surrender.
"Ah! Mijo! I told you to stop playing dead and throwing pillows around the house! Someone could get hurt and the ghost could take it as an opportunity to haunt you!" Tía shouts, almost tripping over Carlos on the floor. Reggie felt his jaw drop slightly in hurt, he would never haunt anyone and the fact that Tía even felt like he could, showed how much she didn't know him. That's because she doesn't know you. Reggie heard Alex's annoying sarcasm in the back of his head. He chose to ignore it; it's what he does when Alex is there anyway. He would never haunt anyone, especially Carlos. Carlos stands up with a sigh.
"Tía I told you-pillows are harmless! And there is no ghost! I never thought this day would come, but as the man of the house, I have to be honest. I was wrong and ghosts don't exist," Carlos explains, winking in Reggie's direction. Oh good, he's faking it. I really thought I was losing him there for a second.
"Man of the house? Mijo what are you-" Carlos takes the opportunity to stop her from lecturing.
"Uh you know, why don't you go ask dad? I think he was in the kitchen when I saw him!" Carlos guides Tía towards the kitchen. She protests, but goes with it nonetheless and leaves Carlos and Reggie to their own devices. Reggie makes himself visible to Carlos then. Yeah, they could do that now, well, sometimes. Reggie was still having trouble figuring out this newfound power of visibility. He couldn't do it all the time and when he id able to do it, it's not for very long. But, it's long enough to talk to Carlos.
"Good save, little man. But, Why'd you have to go and put Ray in that position? Tía's gonna be lecturing him for awhile now and I wanted to stop by and see him before rehearsal!" Reggie explains.
"Well it was either have us go through Tía's lecture or have it be dad and that was an easy decision. And I don't really get why you like hanging out with my dad so much. I mean he is a pretty cool dad, despite the times he tries to use modern slang like 'lit' and 'yeet', but otherwise he just kinda sits there and sifts through mail or whatever it is dads do. Besides, you can't even be visible in front of him because Julie hasn't told him about you being a ghost yet," Carlos responds.
Reggie suddenly feels like an anchor just tethered him to the bottom of the ocean. His feet feeling as though they were glued to the floor beneath him and he couldn't go anywhere, he couldn't even poof out if he tried. And suddenly, he could hear the echoing yells. The ones that fifteen and sixteen and seventeen-year-old Reggie knew oh so well. His parents.
"Regg, you okay?" Carlos snaps him out of wherever he was. He blinks to get rid of the remnants of his memories.
"Uh, yeah. Yeah, I'm good. But, I gotta go get to practice! Sheriffs and Cowboys round 3 tomorrow though, right?" Reggie finger guns in Carlos' direction and Carlos' face lights up again.
"Yeah, totally! But I'm the cowboy this time!" Carlos adds, a stern look on his face. Reggie frowns.
"What? Come on! You know cowboys are my thing!" He protests. Carlos raises an eyebrow and crosses his arms in defense.
"Aren't you late for practice?" He interrogates. Reggie drops his jaw slightly, almost forgetting about practice completely. He poofs out quickly, but realizes that he hasn't fully solidified his accustomed position as cowboy. He poofs back into the living room briefly and adds
"We're not done here!"
~*~
Later that night, after practice seemed to have end, Carlos heads towards Julie's room. He may not know Reggie all that well and he might only be 12, but he knew something was bothering Reggie and he wanted to change that. Reggie's kinda become a big brother to Carlos. Julie is cool and all, for an older sister Carlos couldn't have asked for a better one, but it was nice having another guy in the house. Julie doesn't play Cowboys and Sheriffs with him or watch all the Star Wars movies or show the same enthusiasm over the third French Dip. Besides, if Reggie is all mopey or spaced-out or whatever, then he wouldn't play Cowboy and Sheriff with the amount of energy that it requires!
Julie claims that the guys don't talk about their past that often, so she didn't know much about Reggie, but Luke had told her after an argument had erupted during practice one day and Reggie poofed out, that his parents used to argue a lot. They were close to divorcing apparently. She thinks that's why he likes hanging out with their dad all the time even though it can appear to be boring.
"So then why haven't you told dad about them yet? That's what Reggie needs! The ability to talk to dad!" Carlos shouts.
"It's not that simple, Carlos. I mean yeah, dad's pretty cool, but do you think he'd be cool with three teenage boys living in our studio?!" Julie responds. Carlos stopped. He hated to admit it, but she was right. As much as he wanted Reggie to be able to talk to him, he didn't think that'd go over so well.
"Fine, you got a point. But, there's gotta be some way Reggie can talk to dad. Please, how are we supposed to watch Star Wars if he keeps spacing out all the time?" Carlos pouts. Julie looks at her little brother. Her first instinct is to say "no". Reggie isn't that subtle at being a ghost, Tía still won't be in the living room by herself. But, She can't help, but think about how proud their mom would've been at how caring Carlos is. And because of this she says
"Ok, alright, I think I have a way,"
~*~
"Carlos! Little man! Where are you!" Reggie calls, searching the house for Carlos. He's been everywhere and he hasn't seen him, which is odd because it's 3:30 and Carlos should be home from school by now. Plus, they were supposed to meet at the usual spot to play their round of Cowboys and Sheriffs.
"If this is because you have to be Sheriff again, I'm sorry! You can be the Cowboy this time!" He tries again. Suddenly, he feels all tingly and warped and that can only mean one thing.
"Oh hey, Julie! Have you seen Carlos? We're supposed to play Cowboys and Sheriffs," He explains. Julie shakes her head and decides to keep the fact that Carlos can't actually hear him  unless he's visible to herself.
"Yeah! He's in the kitchen," Julie motions Reggie to follow her and she leads him to the kitchen. When he enters, he sees Carlos sitting at the dinner table with Ray. They're chatting about something, but Reggie can't follow the conversation. Carlos and Julie exchange a look then and Julie motions him to follow her towards the table.
"Hey, daaaad. Remember when you said you wanted to meet the band?" Julie questions. Reggie raises his eyebrow.
"I do, but I think I recall you saying that they don't like to be seen or something along those lines," He answers, sitting back in his chair. Julie's jaw drops a bit from an unexpected answer.
"Uh yeah, yeah I did say that didn't I? But, but, I think we may have figured out a way for you to meet them! Well, one of them anyway, Carlos!" Julie nods in Carlos' direction and Reggie has never felt more confused in his entire afterlife. Except, maybe when he, you know, brought back as a ghost. Because that was pretty confusing. Carlos stands up with a smile and hands Ray a pen.
"Julie and I found this cool app that allows you to link this very pen to another. We sent one to the guys so whatever you write on your page, will show up on their page and what they write, will show up on yours," Carlos explains. Ray shakes his head, his eyebrows furrowed; Reggie does the same and Julie rolls her eyes with a smile.
"You kids and your technology. I will never understand it. But, I'll try it," He responds. Reggies stops. Was he-supposed to go write to Ray? And if he is--what was he supposed to say? Hey I've been hanging out with you and you're a cool dad, I wish you were my dad? Even Reggie knew that wouldn't work! He turns to Julie for some kind of reaction; she nods and Reggie makes his way towards Ray and his notebook. Ray finishes writing his sentence and Reggie peers at the notebook.
Hey Phantoms, this is Julie's dad. Can you read this?
Reggie let out a small chuckle and picks up the pen.
Loud and clear, Ray-Reggie
"This technology is amazing it looks like it's writing itself! You kids are incredible!" Ray shouts, dramatically motioning towards the pen. Carlos walks towards his sister, exchanging a knowing smile. She puts her hand on his shoulder and he leans into her side. He watches Reggie and sees his smile widen every time her dad writes something. He sees him looking like a kid who has just opened the gift on Christmas Morning that they had been asking for all year. He sees him jump up in excitement at their dad's answers.
"He likes Country music!" Reggie couldn't be happier.
"I told you guys he'd like Country! I have to play him some of my Country stuff!" Carlos shakes his head and looks up at his sister.
"I'm gonna have to find another Cowboy, aren't I?"

So I finished Age of Calamity
[spoilers]
Thanks to the beauty of holiday time off I have logged in 40 plus hours into this game and just beaten it, so naturally I’m gonna talk about it a bit. I’ll save the spoiler stuff for a little later though.
The game
This game might be my favorite game of 2020, or at least top three. Not just because of the world, but because everything is over the top! So far I’ve done 131 missions and 90% has the consistent energy of “we are fucking under attack” and it’s almost overwhelming in the best way possible. It really felt like you were on a battlefield field. Your map is just a sea of red and it’s your job to clean it up. What kept me engaged in the fights was all of the character’s different uses runes. I found myself constantly ordering my teammates to face certain enemy types that match best with how they fight.
Originally, I really wanted to be fair and rotate between characters. That didn’t last long. Mipha and Link in my opinion don’t have a single bad move. The bias only got worse whenever the master sword is obtained. Before that, my Link had a spear most of the time but that sword is just handy. Especially with item drop rate and attack range on it. In the end, my strongest characters were Link 74, Mipha 70, Impa 60, and Zelda 60. It’s been awhile since I played the first hyrule warriors so I can’t remember if they had the level up system were you can pay for experience but or definitely came in handy. Combine that with how many guardians were in this game and I quickly found out I needed Link with a shield on a regular bases. I also learned I didn’t forget how to time a vase amount of blocks and dodges.
The amount of characters you get to play quickly became too massive for me to juggle, but they all had their own merits for the most part, though I did find a few of the gimmick characters a bit of a hassle. My opinion on who was viable was constantly changing as I unlocked more combos. Originally, wasn’t the biggest fan of Urbosa. That second and fifth combo modifier changed everything.
The real portion of the game that really kept me wanting to play more was not only the ability to order other people, but seeing them fight along side you. I’m a softie for things like this, but genuinely felt relieved or hyped whenever I was fighting something crazy and I can see Impa rushing over towards me while text from soldiers scream “Just keep pushing!!!!” The AI wasn’t dumb either! There’s plenty of moments that controllable and NPC characters will just go where they’re supposed to, or kill targeted enemies. I remember not wanting to switch over to Link because he had low health, so as I’m running over to him as Mipha to heal him, the madman kills the Lynel. Ran all the way over there to watch him flex. That combined with elemental reactions you can cause in a fight, and the entire spectacle just felt elevated. The feeling of fighting three Lynel’s at once becomes a little less scary when you have a lightning rod and puddles everywhere.
The only negative I found in a gameplay perspective is some of the resource gathering. Gaining the trophy notes for killing a type of enemy isn’t too much of a hassle, but I found getting the materials they drop to be a bit harder, even with increased drop rate statuses. Most of this I find irritating for two reasons. One, specialized enemies show up in relatively small groups in a majority of missions, so getting things from them could be a flop altogether. Number two, a fair amount of these missions take a decent chunk of time if you’re being thorough and killing as much as possible. So grinding is a pain. Fortunately most missions a majority of what you need . If the game wanted chu chu jelly, I knew one of the missions coming up had chu chu as an enemy. You could also keep track of what you needed with material sensor that told you when you had enough.
The story
I’ll be honest, I was upset with this game for a hot second. It was advertised as a prequel to BoTW and while sad, I was truly invested to playing the events that lead to the fall of the champions. What this game didn’t tell you is it’s like most LoZ games, on its own separate part of the timeline. This isn’t the story of they lost. It’s the story of how they win, thanks to the little adorable robot mascot that has the ability to not only show the future, but bring people from the future; the champion’s descendants. At first I was upset with this. Mainly because I’m a little tired of time travel plots and it felt really out of place here. However, time travel gave way more to this game than what I expected this game to have in the first place. It allowed at least six more playable characters that wouldn’t have been possible in the other timeline, and a wellspring of interactions through missions. Every time Mipha was with Sidon, I smiled. Having Urbosa being this super encouraging role model to Riju was so nice since BoTW had expressed just how much those two admired and missed those people. Revali was nice to Teba! They were vibing. Even the soldier commentary on the new champions were a treat. So I got over the time travel issue pretty quick. It made things sad as well when the new generation leaves because they’re going back to a time where they lost it all. There was no great union that took place across hyrule to fight Ganon and their beloved champions failed. I do appreciate that the diverge in the timeline really takes place on the day they’re supposed to die, moments before the final blow. It still lets the player see the definitive moment where good was supposed to lose.
The “new” villain is meh. I wouldn’t really say he stands out. His entire thing is thinking he’s gonna win because he doesn’t realize that he isn’t seeing hyrule’s future. He’s seeing another hyrule’s future. What comes out of his character is cool though because it gives a different, yet same finale boss. I wasn’t expecting to basically fight a giant Ganondorf. Honestly, you can kinda say you fought Demise. At least aesthetically speaking. Or Yuga. This game has also made me care about robot. Something I haven’t done in awhile. A few scenes near the end felt hammy, but also amazingly realistic to how a lot of people would feel when someone breaks your favorite thing. The war was already personal, but now it’s really personal. Quests open up after the game that plays on those emotions too. It’s very clever.
Overall, Age of Calamities story felt like a love letter to everyone who loves this rendition of hyrule and the characters in it. They even another one named Sooga, who just might be my favorite. That man has no choice but to be the brain and muscle of the Yiga. It kinda makes me sad he’s introduced here because you can assume he didn’t make it in the other timeline, so he has no descendents. The amount of serotonin I felt just seeing all of these characters fighting together as the absolutely conquer the battlefield was more than satisfying. Definitely worth the money. I don’t know if they can, but Nintendo might wanna consider some sort of audio patch. The mixing is bad in certain parts. Voice lines get really quiet. Other than that, this game is real solid. I’d give it an 8.5/10
Side note
The music is really good. Especially the Zoe’s demain track. Also, I never noticed frame rate dropping or lag, except on two occasions. Both of these happened to be me pushing the game to its limits. The first is being surrounded by enemies in a small space as Mipha. Creating the water vortex and raining down bombs makes the game wanna cry a little. The second one is a similar case. Sidon’s fifth or sixth combo made the made the game drop frames because it’s incredibly fast, involves timing, makes a vortex, and i was in a small space with tons of enemies. Other than that, not even Urbosa’s or Riju’s lightning made the game freak out from what I noticed. That may have something to do with me never using them in a place where there’s constant rain. That might actually be the cause of the drop in combination of everything else.

hey lover, won’t you treat me right
you can read this here or on AO3. Enjoy!
---
“Hey, are you still going out tonight with that guy you’ve been talking to?”
Cas looked up from his book. He had been pointedly told that he wasn’t allowed to help with dinner and was sent to read in the living room to ‘stay out of the way and keep Dean company’. Dean was referring to the latest guy Cas had met through online dating, and the latest reason for Cas feeling vaguely guilty about not reciprocating feelings. “Oh, no. I told him I just wanted to be friends.” He frowned, “Don’t put too much tomato in it!”
Dean huffed and waved him off. No one told Dean how to cook, especially something that he’d made a thousand times from scratch. “You didn’t even give him a chance, Cas.”
Cas shrugged,” He was... annoying to say the least. He texted too much. The happiest I was with him was when he was ignoring me or busy.”
“Well, did you tell him that?”
“No, but I know the worst thing is feeling like you’re annoying someone you like, and I didn’t want to put him through that. I texted him last night.” Cas went back to his book. It was one thing to talk about his love life with his best friend and roommate. It was quite another to dive deep into his deep-rooted issue with finding a suitable replacement for... someone he actually wanted.
Especially when that person was currently making spaghetti four feet from him.
“And how did he respond?” Dean asked, staring hard at the vegetable he was dicing.
Cas lowered the book again. “Well, he... hasn’t answered yet.”
Dean looked up from where he was cutting a final tomato with a universal ‘yikes’ expression. It was an unfortunate end to his brief relationship with Patrick, but it had to be said. He’d rather Patrick think he was a bastard now, than lead him on and have Patrick assume they were headed towards mutual love and affection.
“So anyway, I have to assume that he doesn’t really want to be friends then.”
“Hey, Cas, don’t take it too hard. He’s missing out.”
Cas considered, looking up at the ceiling. “I’m not... sad, or anything.”
Dean chuckled. “Heh. Ouch. Tough break for him.”
Cas shrugged, turning back to watch Dean work.
Dean gathered all his chopped vegetables together in a neat pile on the cutting board and transferred them to the pot where he was making sauce in a neat flourish, evident of all the times Dean had been in charge of home-cooked meals. “What was so bad about this guy? Did he smell? Ask you to make a blood pact?
Cas looked away from the tantalizing sight of Dean’s hands. “No, he... wanted to cook me dinner.”
Dean looked up from the pot of spaghetti noodles he was now stirring.
“Oh, you’re right,” Dean said, gesturing with the pasta spoon. “Definitely a good thing you curved him. Absolute lunatic.” He bent over to take a taste of the now-simmering sauce, a soft smile on his face.
“Well! It just... makes me uncomfortable. I mean, he could be a serial killer.” Cas grinned playfully, finally giving up on reading and marking his page to step away.
“Don’t you think if he was going to serial kill you, he’d have done it by now? He’s got a lotta ground to cover. This is LA. He’s gotta move quick if he wants to make even the slightest impression on the LAPD.” Dean nodded towards the fridge where their salad sat. Cas had insisted on a salad to go with the carbo-load that was Dean’s favorite and famous Spaghetti Night. It was a rare thing for Dean to allow so much green at a meal, but Cas was always somehow able to convince him.
“I dunno,” Cas pulled out the salad and turned to the cupboard to start gathering plates. He placed a healthy amount of salad on each, making sure to push it to the side to leave ample room for the absolute heap of pasta Dean would place on each. “He just... he texted me all the time, and he always wanted to know how I’m doing and what I’m up to, and it gets old telling him I’m doing the same old things every time. I don’t do much during the day.”
“Sure you do, yesterday you made that cool greenhouse thing out in the backyard.” Dean was referring to the monstrosity built out of thrifted window panes in the far corner of the yard. Cas had seen the idea online on Friday, and by Saturday was cruising through every yard sale and thrift store in the county looking for windows. The frame was easy to put together once Dean had gotten the drill sorted out. It wasn’t much, but now Cas had a great place to put some of the many plants they had around the house.
Cas shrugged. “Right, but I can’t tell him that. He wouldn’t care, and then I’d have to explain every piece of why we needed one and he wouldn’t want to hear that story.”
“Look, I’m not saying you didn’t do the right thing by being honest with him, but it just sounds like maybe you didn’t like him all that much in the first place if you’re able to be so casual about it.”
“I know,” Cas sighed. “I’ve gotta stop doing this to guys. Before him it was Nate, and Collin. I’m a mess.”
Dean spooned a frankly frightening amount of pasta on a plate. “Nah, you’re not a mess, just a bit careless with your dirty socks. You wanna try some sauce or just butter?”
“No, I’ll try it. You worked so hard on it. A little bit of sauce, please. Not too much.”
Dean smiled and rolled his eyes, dripping the perfect amount of homemade marinara on top of the pile of spaghetti. They sat down to eat and Cas twirled his fork in the noodles. The sauce was great. While the base was tomato, it wasn’t overwhelming or acidic like tomato can get in inexperienced hands. Garlic and mushroom had space in the sauce as well, making it perfectly well-balanced.
Cas stood up. “I’m getting some more sauce, this is really good, Dean.”
“Thank you, pickiest eater in the world. That is a compliment far greater than you know.”
They ate in silence for a few minutes.
Dean piped up with his mouth full. “So, like, what—are you just gonna chalk it up as a loss and move on or what?”
Cas shook his head. “I’m deleting the app, I can’t keep doing this to people when it only serves to piss me off and disappoint other people.”
Silence fell again for a brief moment. “Have you considered maybe it’s not you?”
“Thank you, Dean, but scientifically speaking, it has to be me. I’m the only constant in this string of nearly identical outcomes.” Not much else could explain it. Cas was just... bad at love. Bad at being in a relationship. Bad at getting on with his life.
“Maybe you just need to date better people. Maybe... people you already know?”
Snorting, Cas scooped up the last on his pasta. “Come on, everyone we know that’d be even sort of willing to put with me are already married, have kids, or both.”
“Well, not everyone...” Dean muttered, mostly to himself.
Cas chewed thoughtfully. “I think I just gotta face facts. I’m not built for relationships.”
“Kinda lonely outlook.” Dean wasn’t wrong. They were renting the house together, but that could easily change once Dean found a nice girl or boy or... person to settle down with. He was a good looking guy, good with his hands, nice laugh—it wouldn’t be hard for him at all. Cas could very easily be alone, very easily.
Cas shrugged. “A fact’s a fact. It happens. People grow up and just... never find love. I mean, it’s kinda sad but... I’ve got other things in my life.” That was less true. For all that Dean and Cas got along and had in common, he never understood why Dean was alone and chose to hang out with him so often.
Dean snorted. “I don’t know how much a roommate in a shitty starter home counts for, Cas.
“Well, maybe my purpose here is to make sure that roommate is happy then, yeah?” Cas picked up his dish and set it in the sink. He kept his attention towards the sink, concentrating on filling it with soap and water so he didn’t have to see Dean’s face of pity. He wasn’t sad about it. Not really.
Well, he would probably end up being okay.
Dean pushed back from the table to set his dish in the water by Cas’s hand. He busied himself with the leftover pasta on the stove, pulling a plastic container from the cupboard above the range. Dean would probably insist Cas take it for lunch tomorrow.
“Well, what if the roommate wants something specific to make him happy?” Dean asked, sounding strangely formal.
Cas blinked and turned towards Dean, surprised to see him flushed to the tips of his ears. He squinted.
“What does the roommate want?”
If possible, Dean blushed even harder and ducked his head. How curious. Cas felt a strange tingle in his palms. He had a sudden vision of pressing in close and watching Dean take a surprised breath. He shook his head slightly.
“He—I— uh, heh. A beer is what he wants.” Dean said, face brightening in a way that made Cas squint harder on suspicion. Pasta container in hand, Dean switched around Cas, hiding the fridge for a second. He emerged having swapped the plastic container for two beers, one of which he offered to Cas. Hands still wet, Cas gestured for Dean to sit the bottle down to the side of the sink. Dean popped his open, took a swig, and set it down next to Cas’s beer. He picked up a dish towel and got to drying. Together, they steadily and silently cleared the table and counter of all the dishes, leaving their little kitchen tidy once again.
Afterwards, Dean plucked his beer from the counter and took another sip. Cas cracked the lid off of his and did the same. He leaned against the sink and tilted his head as he considered Dean. He was still a bit pink and he wasn’t looking at Cas... or anything really in particular.
“Dean... are you feeling alright?” He almost looked nervous.
Dean blinked. “Huh? Oh yeah, just... thinkin’.”
“Careful with that.” Cas teased.
Deans mouth quirked up in a half smile before falling back to his thoughtful expression.
“Cas, you really think you’re gonna end up alone?”
Oh. Dean was worried he’d have to be saddled with Cas forever. “I dunno. I’m mostly over-dramatic. It’s not looking good right now, though. Kind of a downer.”
“But I mean, you’re young still. Plenty of time to settle down with someone.” Shit, he really did look worried. Maybe he was worried about his own prospects, being single at their age as well.
“Dean, if you’re secretly worried about yourself we can go to a bar or something. I’m not overly concerned about it—“
Dean wasn’t done and talked over him. “And you’re a great guy, you’re smart and funny and... you’ve got nice hair,” Dean finished haltingly. “I just think you’re selling yourself a bit short is all.”
Cas blinked, feeling a slight flush on his cheeks. “Well, thanks but I think the real issue is more with my shockingly horrendous commitment issues and all that.”
They drank in silence, steadily ignoring the other. All this silence tonight was starting to get deafening in Cas’s professional opinion. He was about to open his mouth and change the subject when Dean did just that. “Did this guy... what’s his name?”
“Patrick.”
“Did Patrick ever kiss you?” This question caused Cas to pause. It was an innocent enough question, but the way Dean asked—anxious eyes, and twitchy fingers—like he didn’t really want to ask but was dying to know.
Cas had to tread carefully here, as to not pull too quickly. He might be unsure with guys he met online, but it there was one man he’d climb like a tree with no second thoughts or regrets, it was the one standing in front of him, distractedly shredding the artisanal label off his beer bottle.
“Oh I’d never let him get the chance. Too weird.” He silently dared Dean to call his bluff.
Dean sighed and looked up at Cas, expression guarded. He set his beer down on the table behind him and took a step towards Cas. The tingle in his palms kicked up, spreading up his arms and across his chest, flooding up his neck and to his ears.
“And you know, right away? Who you’d like to kiss?” Dean asked like there was any possible way Cas would turn him down.
“I—definitely. I know within the first half hour of meeting someone if I’d like to—like to kiss them.” Even Cas was stumbling now. He didn’t dare move and shatter this strange, wonderful moment.
Dean was close now. Close enough to see the apprehension in his eyes and catch the subtle tremble in his fingers, hanging loose by his sides.
“Does that feeling ever change?”
“No, once it’s there, it’s all I can think about.” Cas’s gaze tripped between Dean’s mouth and his eyes. Everything was buzzing now. He still wasn’t entirely sure what was happening, but he knew things weren’t like this with Patrick. Or Nate. Or anyone else he had been on a date with.
It was special for Dean.
Their chests were nearly touching now. Dean was so close. The heat coming off him was incredible, and Cas wanted nothing more than to get closer.
“Me too,” Dean murmured. “Once I want to kiss someone, it’s all I can think about, too.”
Cas often though about how green Dean’s eyes were, sometimes annoyingly and distractedly often, but now that they were boring into his, it was hard to think about anything else.
Except maybe his mouth. Or his hands, slowly coming up. Shit, this was going exactly where he thought it was. Right here in their shared kitchen.
“I’m gonna kiss you, Cas,” Dean said, drawing in a breath. “And if it’s not what you want, we can pretend it never happened. I won’t make it weird, I promise. I just have to—“
Cas pushed up to press his mouth against Dean’s, hands coming up to fit along his jaw. He watched Dean’s eyes flutter shut before closing his own. Dean gripped his t-shirt before sliding his hands around and up his back. Their lips moved together, pulling and giving back, wet heat between them. He pulled back after a second, an audible smack when they parted.
“I don’t want to push too far—“
“Dean Winchester, kiss me again. Please. It’s good.”
Dean grinned and yanked him back in by his collar, pressing him back into the counter. Cas felt the frenzy build, and he pushed his tongue into Dean’s mouth. Dean sucked on the tip of it, before reaching up to press thumbs to the bolt of Cas’s jaw, opening it further. Cas reached down and slipped his fingers back down into Dean’s back pockets, hauling him closer.
When they finally had to surface for air, they were both grinning.
“That wasn’t weird, right?” Dean had the audacity to ask, breathlessly.
“Definitely weird.” Cas answered, cheekily.
“You’re not gonna ask to be just friends later, right?” Dean sounded like he was mostly kidding but with a touch of real anxiety behind it.
“No, but suddenly it makes sense why everyone else didn’t compare.” Cas said, pressing a smooch to the side of Dean’s jaw. “You’re not just doing this because you feel bad for me?”
Dean rolled his eyes and smacked Cas on the ass. “Been wanting to do that since I met you, dummy. I’m glad we had this chance to finally straighten out that I’m the only one for you.”
“Yeah, probably.” Cas whispered. “Wanna go make out on the couch?”
Dean smiled.

(no warnings)
-
“Never?”
“Never.”
“...As in never?”
“Fuckin’ never, Cyclops, jeez, how many times do I gotta say it?” Scout blustered, curling up a bit in his embarrassment, starting to pick at some loose stitch of the worn quilt he had as his blanket.
“I... I’m just surprised is all, lad,” Demo admitted, blinking, settling back as he processed the new information. “Thought... the way you tend to talk and all—“
“Fuckin’ duh, if any of the guys knew I was... not, y’know, experienced or whatever, they’d poke fun even more than they already do. I’d get eaten alive out there,” he mumbled, eyes falling.
Demo considered that. To be honest, he’d thought that Scout was probably exaggerating the number of people he tended to sleep with. That was what Scout did with so many other things—he talked a big game and tried to act more confident than he really was in a sort of “fake it ’til you make it” kind of way. That, combined with the way Scout immediately stumbled over his words when asked for any amount of detail, and the way he went red and flustered at the more raunchy jokes Demo and some of the rest of the team tended to make during the rowdier hours of the weekend, made Demo think maybe Scout was all lime, no tequila.
But Scout was also a fairly handsome young man in his prime. He figured at least someone would’ve fallen for that before him.
“Well…” Demo trailed hesitantly when the silence stretched a second too long and Scout started fidgeting. “…what all have you done?”
Scout’s face was going a bit red. He fiddled with his dog tags. “Dated some girls in high school, and, y’know, holding’ hands and bein’ cute and all, I… I’ve gotten little pecks on the cheek or whatever, but, but I barely count that as anything, y’know?”
Demo stared at him. “…Doll, you’re telling me you’d never kissed anyone before me?” he asked, shocked. He ran some mental math, scoured his memory. That meant that Scout had kissed someone four times in his entire life total, including a few moments previously. All chaste and quick and sweet.
Scout hid in his hat.
Demo considered that. “…Why? Why haven’t you?” he asked next.
“I just… I dunno, I, I put way too much stock in that kinda romantic bullshit and I just, I never had the balls to make the first move with anyone, and with kissin’ and—and anything else—I just…” Scout was red up to his ears. “…I wanted it to be special or whatever which is the girliest horseshit—“
Demo cut him off by taking and squeezing his hand, thinking hard on what to say. When he spoke, he worked hard to keep his tone gentle. “…So you want to do all that with me?” he asked, just for clarification.
Scout nodded.
Demo squeezed his hand again, laughing a little. “Well I’d be bloody honored,” he said, flicked the brim of the hat out of Scout’s face to get a look at him, to give him a reassuring smile. “Any idea what you’d…?”
“I… I dunno,” Scout murmured, visibly embarrassed by it, not quite able to hold eye contact. “I… what do people… usually do?”
“Well, you’d bloody, er, start with kissing usually, aye?” Demo suggested, pulling gently on Scout’s hand and guiding him forward, practically into his lap, and let Scout be the one to lean forward and close the distance.
He situated his back comfortably against the wall, and Scout did end up settling into his lap, relaxing slowly but surely over the course of long, unhurried minutes of kissing. Demo largely took control of things—partially because Scout was so nervous about making a fool of himself, he was sure. And he guided Scout through it as gently as he could, coaxed him into opening his mouth—minty, enough that Demo was sure he’d brushed his teeth just before Demo arrived, which was oddly flattering—and into letting Demo play with him. Nipping gently as his lip, making Scout’s breath hitch.
And when Scout had to pull back for air, starting to get overwhelmed, Demo shifted his focus, tilting his head to nip at Scout’s neck, light enough that it surely didn’t hurt in the slightest, just a new sensation that Scout had apparently never tried before. And his breath continued to hitch, and he started choking back little noises as Demo found a nice place further down his neck near his shoulder that would be covered by his uniform shirt and gave him a hickey.
Scout whimpered, and it felt so very incredibly good, the sound washing through him as satisfyingly as a cool breeze on a hot and humid day.
He tried to keep in mind that nobody had ever done these things with Scout before, and tried to show him all sorts of tricks he probably didn’t know. He showed Scout all sorts of sensitive places to kiss and nibble at—his neck, his earlobes, his wrists and the inside of his elbow—and drank in the noises he made, reveled in each reaction and tried to commit them to memory. His kisses were joined soon enough by touches, slipping his hands up beneath Scout’s shirt to meet bare skin, tracing slow lines against the very lean muscle of his lower back and stomach, one questing so far as to reach his chest to tweak at either nipple.
Scout jolted outright, gasped, moaned softly when he did it a second time, and lord, he was gorgeous.
And Tavish DeGroot had not been raised to keep quiet about exactly what he was thinking, so he said so, murmured against his cheek how gorgeous he was, how lovely he looked like this. And Scout practically trembled with it, clinging to Demo’s shoulders, eyes pressed shut tight and face bright red, flustered beyond bravado. And Demo couldn’t help but kiss him again, and again, and Scout kissed back, sloppy and unpracticed but earnest in every way, desperate, and it was as lovely as it was clumsy—more, even.
And when he pulled back he caught Scout by the chin before he could try and hide again, stroking down his hip to grip at his thigh like a promise. And he started to talk—oh, how he started to talk.
“Lovely, doll,” he murmured, eyes lingering on every detail of Scout’s face. “You’re a damn sight, ya ken. Lovely, lovely thing. Like getting pampered a bit, aye? Getting kissed at?”
Scout seemed torn between desperate and nervous, between leaning in and looking away, slightly overwhelmed but needy all the same. “Yeah,” he admitted anyways.
Demo shifted his hold on Scout’s thigh, thumb migrating nearly to his inseam, pressing gently and making a muscle in Scout’s thigh jump beneath his palm. “Ought to let me make a night of it, one of these days,” he mused, stroking at the underside of Scout’s chin and absorbing the way his lashes fluttered. “Just let me lie you out and kiss you all over. See how flustered I can get you before you beg for more. Won’t take much, I think. Haven’t even gotten your shirt off and you’re practically there.”
Scout’s expression shifted towards embarrassment, and he made an earnest attempt to look away, but Demo stopped him with a deep, long kiss, only pulled back when he’d coaxed out another little whimper.
“And that’s lovely too,” he said, hardly above a whisper, and Scout practically sobbed, leaning in towards him, grip tightening.
“Demo, please, fuck, how long are you gonna tease me?” he asked, distressed.
“You want me to touch you, doll?” he asked, direct and outright.
“Yes, fuck, yes, I want you to fucking touch me, c’mon—“ was as far as Scout could get before Demo had worked the button of his pants open and slipped a hand inside.
“Och,” Demo tutted, even as Scout’s hips jerked. “Look at you, you’re all atwitter.”
It really did surprise him a little how riled up Scout already was, but he reminded himself that he tended to have a considerable impact on people who weren’t virgins, and that it really wasn’t that surprising. And he realized within a moment’s thought that Scout surely wouldn’t last all that long, but that was alright—they’d have time to do more later.
And he was right—he didn’t even properly have time to get Scout’s pants down before his hips were jerking more insistently into Demo’s hand and he was yelping, spilling, throbbing under his palm and making sweet little whimpery noises as he returned to earth.
And then he was hiding, choking out apologies, because fuck, they barely did anything, he hadn’t even gotten to really touch Demo yet, and no time was wasted to start shushing him, showering him in assurances that it was alright, it was fine, he’d have plenty of time to learn, to build up endurance, all of that. They could take things slow. And hey, maybe they could talk more about it in the shower—Scout should really change his pants.
And they did talk in the shower, alongside other things. And Demo looked forward to making good on all his promises.

Grieving & My Grieving Journey...So Far...
February 2nd, 2021: When I was growing up the only grief I truly felt was the loss of grandparents and pets. The only grief I experienced firsthand all made sense to me, people who followed the order of life you get older, you get sicker, and then die.  At that point and in those instances it wasn't hard for me to utilize logic and reason to understand their lives were lived and their time here had expired.
In high school I witnessed the school, my friends, and my classmates just in shambles after two boys died in two separate car accidents. These deaths caused me to feel an overwhelming amount of empathy and sympathy for my sad friends, but I wasn't close enough to these two to grieve really. I felt bad for everyone feeling so bad and knew a generic "I'm sorry" simply would not suffice.  I still knew there was nothing on this planet that I could say or do to heal that wound. I knew there was no making sense of these tragic deaths. Two happy, smiling, kind, young souls were gone. There is no making that okay.
Since high school this area is cursed with so many young deaths. We've lost people to suicides, accidents, overdoses, the list goes on. Still, I remained in the helpful, supportive friend role. I was not the one with my world upside down, and truthfully at the time I was grateful. Watching people so sad from grieving was heart breaking enough.
When I was 20 and pregnant with my first son we had a gender reveal party, we were ecstatic, my family never had boys. We had people stay the night in a tent in my mom's backyard because we in no way wanted anyone to drive home drunk. My friends at the time partied until morning, then all four went to sleep in a little four person tent.
I woke up at tenish, my mom made French toast for breakfast for everyone, then left for a matinee with her friend. One by one my hungover friends started coming in for breakfast. My son's soon to be God Father came in and said "Nate snored so loud, he shook my pillow" I replied, "He was cocked, and passed out" and giggled at the thought of their shenanigans. My step-dad and sister and his best friend were just watching the Sunday Giants game, casually cracking their first beer around noon.
My friends were about ready to go, trying to figure out how to make the six people fit in a five person car. Nate wasn't up yet, not shocked, it was only 1:00 pm. He was sleeping on his tummy, using his arm as a pillow. I started to wake him up saying "Nate...Nate...Nate..." giggly and patient. I tickled his feet and he didn't move, he was just sleeping heavy. "Nate...Nate...Nate..." I pushed my fingertips into the soles of his feet and they stayed. I instantly said "He's dehydrated, and retaining fluid, get him water." Still not panicking...I stared at his back looking for breath movement before I thought "I'll just yank him by the ankles, that'd wake anyone up." So, I did just that...nothing. I went to look at him and saw purple skin through his red hairline and ran to get an adultier adult, my step-dad.
I ran into the house, where they were all watching a seemingly compelling play during the game, bursted in and yelled "Nate's blue, he won't wake up, I don't think he's breathing!" I've never seen my 6' 8" step-dad move so fast. He ran outside, ducked in and looked in the tent for about .1 seconds before he said "Steph, you need to call 911 now!" at 1:06 pm I picked up Nate's phone (it was the closest in reach) and tried to give a bunch of information to a dispatcher. I made little to no sense, because my step-dad didn't tell me why I was calling 911, combined with anxiety, I wasn't able to give them my mom's address. My younger sister tried to take the phone from me but the dispatcher asked "Can anyone there do CPR?" We all could, why didn't I think of that? I handed the phone off to my sister, and ran back to my step-dad and all my friends just shaking their heads and said "WE CAN DO CPR!" My step-dad as calmly and level as he could said "We can't save him, Steph, he's gone."
My. Soul. Left. My. Body.
My legs just stopped working.
Draped in my step-dads arms.
He's 6' 8" standing next to him I'm chest height.
I was down to his stomach.
Sobbing.
Drooling.
Quickly I ran away from his embrace screaming "NO. NO. NO. NO", into the road screaming up it "WHATS TAKING THEM SO LONG?!"
In that instant for the first time, it was me. I was the one with the dead best friend. Begging cops "Let me go with you to his Mom, her whole world is upside down here, and you're gonna tell her that with a straight face, just take me to tell her." Of course, I was informed protocol exists, and that couldn't happen. The second Nate's death hit social media I was the one flooded with "Oh my god, what happened?" "I'm so sorry" "My condolences" blah blah fucking blah.
My best friend's heart stopped to due to a lethal combination of Xanax and alcohol. Nothing about life or death made sense anymore. My best friend died from partying too hard? How do you make sense of that? When we all went to his services we stood in a circle together. Everyone stared, everyone, we were the last ones with him. We were trying to process what was about to happen at the viewing and we heard "That's them." The services were a nightmare. My friend Bryan and I were first to walk in, and the second we saw his bright red hair in that white casket we both couldn't stand. We stopped the line, and I sobbed and said "We can't do this." We went in the room with his twin sister and mom, we offered his sister his aviator sunglasses that were left in the tent, and we offered his mom to go to her favorite local ice cream parlor on Mothers Day every year, a tradition Nate followed with her. I asked Nate's mom permission to name my son Nathan when we went to see her the day after he died, so I tucked an ultrasound of his namesake in his pocket, and a pack of cigarettes with his lucky flipped. We stayed through the whole viewing, saw all those sad broken faces, got all the sad and sorry hugs, at the end we all walked up together I kissed his forehead, and we left.
I spent the first threeish years of my new life without Nate crying occasionally or at appropriate times, like when I gave birth to my Nathan. The rest of the time I kinda carried on like mentally him and I were taking a break from eachother, like I myself was choosing not to message or call. I got into therapy after hearing countless "You need helps" from family and friends. In therapy, I was cautioned that this event gave me Complex PTSD and Complex Grieving. Still, I just kept going with the flashbacks, nightmares, and the stages of grief over and over. Three years in, I had a startling realization using a butt fuck of psychedelics of "Oh my God, my person is gone, I can't get him back, we can't talk, and that really happened." Instantly, I was grieving his death like new again. Oh no. I had less than understanding from most people. Most people honestly seemed perplexed how it could feel so fresh after "so many years" *eyeroll to my spine*. Solely because me being pained and honest with it is/was uncomfortable. OOOF.
I knew Nate taught me so much in his life and in his death. He also was the first to teach me how to help people in early grief, because of how many conversations I had that were text book This Is Not What You Say To Someone Grieving. Then again, we're all different.
Just before the 4 year mark with Nate's death, death found me again and again, it followed the people I loved. My honest theory is I saw death up close and personal, I know what that type of empty feels like, I was the one sobbing pounding the ground, mad at the world, so I noticed the devastation easier. I became the support system for my grieving friends, all by just being honest from the get, "Welcome to the club you don't want to be in, you still have to try to eat, you're never gonna be the same and there is nothing you can say to me that sounds crazy coming from the girl who has screamed in the cemetery at 2:00 AM "OVER A FUCKING XANAX?!" and unfortunately this club doesn't come with t-shirts it comes with trauma." It's simple to me, really. Act like they have a cancer on their brain with out being so in-your-face-it-feels-fake. Easy. I've helped countless freshly grieving people in the years after Nate's death.
In October of 2020 I was talking to Zack, my middle school best friend on the phone, I needed help. He couldn't help me, as he was in legal trouble and needed to lay low. We caught up for a while, aside from what I needed help with. At one point he said "I wish Squid was here, he would've been down in a heartbeat." Squid passed in February of 2020. We talked at length about being more careful with ourselves, the worries we had about our other friends, and what grieving is like. Then he said, "I don't know how much closer death can get to me than Squid, he was my boy, it broke me." I just said  "I miss that boy so much, he was so warm." Zack went on to say "I don't wanna know which one of us is gonna go first, I don't wanna be the one left." We gave eachother all of our love, and hung up.
On November 19th, 2020 Zack and another friend of ours from middle school, Alex, were headed home from Alex's band practice late at night. Alex was driving when he lost control of the vehicle. They both died on impact, together. It killed me. They died just riding home? The messages flooded in again. "I'm so sorry" "If you need anything, I'm here" as disingenuous as you could be really be. Again, I'm the one with the dead friends. Feeling emptiness in my finger tips. I hated everything, again.
"If everything happens for a reason, than what the fuck?"
"Why them? Why me?"
Despair
When I laid in my boyfriend's bed staring at where the white ceiling met the lavender walls with silent tears streaming down my face I felt empty in my bones. I went outside, lit a cigarette, and called my soul brother, Alec. Al is traditionally a goof ball, but in sad times he has a way with comforting people. He's an absolute doll. I knew I needed to hear his voice and his words. When we spoke I cried and said all the awful initial thoughts, "How am I the one left? I didn't wanna do that. What do I do?" After I got those thoughts out we had a talk that would forever change my views on loss and grief. He said "All of these losses teach us something. Losing Squid taught me that I needed, wanted, and could have a healthy supportive friendship with Alison (his ex-wife, my best friend)." Alison drove up from Georgia to support me, Alec, all of our people, and grieve herself with her people. The hug they shared outside of the funeral home looked cathartic on a soulful level to me. They were who eachother needed to have in that sad and vulnerable time, even after their separation. To that I said, "I still don't get the fucking point."
That's when Alec said something I'll never forget. First, he quoted Carl Sagan in Cosmos, "We're all just a blue dot." Made zero sense, as I had yet to read all of Cosmos, and Alec already had (more than once). He then said, "People's love for you is eternal, regardless of when their physical being dies. Every lesson they taught someone will permanently imprint them, transferring person to person, generation to generation. Zack's love, Squid's Love, Alex's love, Nate's love, everyone's love is eternal as long as your soul learned things from them." I started crying hard. We gradually caught up and got ready to hang up and he said "Stephanie, you will have my love eternally, in this life and in the next, even if my physical being dies you will always have love from an Al"
I had to process those words for weeks, thinking of every act of love, every admirable thing, every moment I witnessed that all my seemingly lost humans gave me, and what changed in me because of those moments. All of these souls filled up books in my mind, heart, and soul. They taught me how to be a happier better me, and they all loved me so much. These acts of love transferred onto my family, my friends, my kids, my relationship, hell, even strangers. Alec was right, my humans didn't die at all, and the more I looked the more I found glimpses of their love here, with me, no matter where they are. They literally cannot die, and there's no choice in the matter, it just happens.
I still have sad days and moments, but I know the saddest moments for me are also the most loving acts they gave me coming to surface...They are still with me to make those moments possible. You cannot change grief. It is a wild bull you just got onto, and you have to hold on tight and dig your spurs in for the rest of your life. The only thing that has calmed the immense pain I've felt was allowing these amazing humans to permanently imprint their best moments onto me. I'm forever grateful I had the privilege to be imprinted by so many angelic souls. All these seemingly small, miniscule moments created the most love in my soul. I'm here to learn, and I've been taught by the best of the best. Their deaths were not in vein, their deaths have all changed me. I sincerely hope this makes you consider how many souls have imprinted on you in life and in death, allowing seemingly impossible eternal love into your heart and soul.
XOXO

white lace -> pjm (m)
↳ pairing: jimin x reader ↳ genre: smut ↳ word count: 2.0k ↳ warnings: dom!jimin, sub!reader, daddy kink (sorry lol), handcuffs, cunnilingus, mild breathplay, begging, fwb!jimin, dirty talk — synopsis: It was your birthday, and just something about that white lace on your body really does some things to Jimin.
Yay! I’m back! I now present you all a little Jimin smut just ‘cause I feel the need to write you guys something.
An announcement though, sad to say but I won’t be accepting requests for prompts anymore. Requests for oneshots are still fine, though. Hope you all understand :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You and Jimin’s relationship was...kinda different than others. Friends with benefits - that’s what you two call it. Both of you were just so comfortable with each other and you agreed to take things in another level of ‘friendship’.
Today was your birthday, and Jimin texted you to come over for a little present. You didn’t have any huge celebration whatsoever because it just wasn’t your type. “Here, open this,” Jimin smirked, handing you a deep red box with a silk ribbon around it.
“To be honest, Jimin, you didn’t have to give me a present,” you smiled up at him, holding the box in your hands. He chuckles, “You always say that every time, ____, but you love every single one of my gifts.”
“True,” you shrugged. You removed the ribbon and opened the box carefully and your jaw drops when your eyes saw what it was.
“Are you kidding me, Jimin,” your free hand touched the lacey fabric, your stomach turning in different directions. You looked back at Jimin and saw that he wore this knee-dropping smirk on his face, his arms crossed in front of him. “Is this...lingerie?”
He shrugs cooly as if it was the most normal thing in the world, “Looks like it, baby girl,”
“Oh no no no, don’t talk to me like that now.” You raised your voice slightly as you removed the clothing from the box, holding it up. You gasped as you saw how skimpy and how it there was little to no fabric at all. It was white lace, see-through set that probably costs more than your rent.
“Why is it white, though?” You asked him, blushing when he bites his lip as he pulled you closer to him by the waist, his face now mere inches away from yours. His hands caressed your back before a hand was placed on top of your ass, giving it a little squeeze.
“White is a color of pureness, baby. You know how much it will turn me on when I see you wearing this as I fuck you, still reminding me of how innocent you really are how you let me corrupt yourself, all just for me.”
This guy was absurd, but you couldn’t help but feel aroused by his words. “Will you wear them on for me tonight, baby girl?” His voice dropped deeper and it became huskier, knowing how much you love it when he speaks to you like that. You gulp, nodding your head, “I will.”
“That’s a good girl,” he smirked, planting a kiss on your lips. “I want you to wear this and wait for me in the bedroom, okay?”
You nod your head and he immediately releases you from his grip, instantly scurrying to the bedroom as you held onto the lingerie. You quickly strip away from your clothes and tried the fabric on, and much to your surprise, it actually looked good on you. Yes, it was a bit uncomfortable, but you can’t stop looking at yourself in the mirror. Jimin was right, the white lace really made you look young and raw. The set made your boobs and ass look really good, and you couldn’t help but snap a little photo of yourself from your phone.
You removed your hair tie and let your hair fall down, knowing how much Jimin likes it that way. You laid down on the bed and waited for him to come. After a few moments, the door swung open and Jimin entered the room without his shirt. Your mouth instantly waters when you see his beautifully toned body, his sweatpants hanging loosely around his hips, his v-line visible to your eyes. He smirks when he sees you all laid out, ready for him. Jimin growls underneath his breath, getting hard at the sight he has in front of him. You teasingly bring up your index finger up to your mouth, sucking on it seductively as you maintained eye contact. Jimin couldn’t hold it in as he quickly hovered above your body, his hands traveling all over your soft skin.
He bites his lip when his hand comes in contact with your lace-covered breast, squeezing it firmly, earning a moan from your lips. “You look so pretty for me, baby.”
“Only for you, daddy,” Jimin raised a brow at your words, licking his lips. His lips made contact with the skin on your neck, placing tender kisses, immediately finding your sweet spot. You close your eyes as you indulge yourself in the feeling of his lips moving along your skin. He sucks on the spot under your ear, leaving a little mark for the people to see.
He loves to leave hickeys all over your skin, making you his. You whimper when he licks a bold stripe on the fresh mark, causing you to throw your head back. You can feel him buck his hips into you, feeling his hard member through all of the clothing. You can also feel how hard he was, making you want him even more.
Your hand flies down to grab his cock through his sweats, giving it a firm squeeze. Jimin’s eyes close for a moment and he bucks his hips into your hand, grinding on it for a couple of seconds before he reopens his eyes. His irises turn even dark than it already was. He firmly grabs your wrist away from him and pins both of your hands above your head. “You naughty little girl,” he snarls, “touching daddy without permission.”
He keeps your wrists in place with one hand and the other grabs something from your bedside table. He opens the drawer and brings out a little paper bag and your eyes widen when he pulls out handcuffs. Jimin chuckles at your reaction, cuffing your wrists to the headboard. “What the fuck, you’re so kinky,” you giggled, secretly loving the feeling. He snarls, “Aren’t you a little late to notice that, baby girl?”
He suddenly pulls your underwear down, making you shriek. You close your legs together but he was quicker to part your legs away. He groans when he sees your wet slick and wastes no time in diving his head in between your thighs. He licks a stripe from your entrance and up to your clit, sucking on the sensitive bud right after. You tugged on his hair as you thrashed beneath him, already feeling so much pleasure. His tongue would teasingly flick your clit constantly, sending you into a state of euphoria. He continuously sucked and licked your pussy until you felt that your high was coming close. “J-Jimin, I’m gonna--”
He instantly pulls away right before you were about to cum, making you groan in frustration. He roughly slaps your thigh, “That wasn’t my name, was it, baby girl?”
You whimpered, feeling hornier than ever, “I’m sorry, daddy.”
Jimin chuckles as he pulls his sweats down, his hard dick springing out. The tip was angry and red, precum leaking down his shaft. Your hands instinctively reached out to touch him but the constraints refrained you from doing so. He strokes his length a couple of times as he eye-fucks you, biting his lip. Your bra was still on and he wanted to keep it that way. “Daddy please, please just--” you couldn’t finish your sentence when he rubs his shaft over your wet slick, coating it with your juices. “Please what, baby? What does my good girl want?”
“I-I want you inside me, daddy.”
Jimin mumbles a quiet ‘fuck’ from your words, obviously turning him on. He smirks when he aligns himself in front of your entrance, “I haven’t fucked you in weeks, baby. You’re probably so tight, hmm?”
“Why don't you find out yourself, daddy?”
In a swift motion, he shoves his cock inside your pussy without a warning. You moan out loud as you threw your head back into the pillows, your arms tugging from the complete pleasure. He didn’t give you any time to adjust as he instantly pounds himself in and out, his cock hitting all the right places. “S-shit, baby,” he chuckles, his eyebrows crease as he tries to focus on fucking you as the pleasure tries to overwhelm him, “you feel so good, I missed your pussy so fucking much.”
His mouth flies down on one of your hardened nipples and bites on it through the fabric. You shut your eyes when he wraps his mouth around it, gently sucking on the bud. “I love these so much,” he chuckles as he fucks you even harder and rougher, his hips smacking against yours.
Suddenly, he brings his right hand up and wraps it around your neck, applying just the right amount of pressure to it. You moan as you roll your eyes back from the feeling. Jimin just knows what to do to send you to your high, he knows your every kink and every dirty fantasy that you have. He knows your body better than you do.
“Daddy p-please, let me cum,” you whimpered as you clenched around his shaft. Jimin growls when you did so, fucking you even deeper, “How about you beg for it, baby girl? You wanna cum so bad, huh?” You can tell that he was close as well, his moans getting louder.
“Please, please daddy. I wanna cum so bad,” you spoke through gritted teeth, trying your best to hold it in. His sharp and hard thrusts making it even difficult for you.
“Is that all you can do, birthday girl?” he snarls, smirking as he choked you a bit tighter, “Beg like you mean it.”
You whined, “Please please please, daddy. Please let me cum, I’ve been a good girl. Let me cum around your cock,” these filthy words came out of your mouth like it was nothing. You loved begging for him, it was all so dirty, yes - but you loved it. You loved the feeling of just being so submissive for him, and he liked it as much as you do.
Jimin always craved for control. He loved how he can just make you feel a certain way in the simplest of things. He controls your body in numerous ways. His past lovers weren’t like you, they weren’t up to try different and new things. And it was such a relief that he found someone like you who had the same interest as him. It was a massive turn on for him to see you obeying his commands, being such a good girl for her daddy.
“Good girl, baby,” he smirked, “Now, cum for me now.”
It was the hardest that you came in a while, your body was shaking and you were clenching vigorously around his length. “A-ahh, daddy!”
Jimin kept thrusting to catch his high until he spills his seed, hot and long spurs of cum inside of you. Jimin was a panting mess, burying his head on the crook of your neck as he kept his dick inside you. “Fuck, you came so hard baby,” he breathed, worn out. You instantly blushed but when you tried to run your hands through his hair, you remembered the restraints that were cuffed around your wrist.
“Jimin...umm, the cuffs--”
“O-oh, right,” he laughed as he sat up and removed the cuffs from your wrist. The skin was slightly red from all of the tuggings, but you didn’t mind it. Jimin smirk when he saw your bruised skin, knowing how much you enjoyed it either way. He pressed a gentle kiss on your forehead, smiling down at you.
“Happy birthday, ____.”

a/n: yet another got7 drabble!! this is going to be a bit angsty, so i apologize in advance and honestly this banner is probably one of my favorites hehe and also this drabble took me a while to type up but it was worth it! and this is very much unedited so if you see any grammatical errors then that’s on me lmao
genre: fluff, angst, college/university au, friends to lovers
rating: pg (for mild swearing)
warnings: light swearing, mild angst,a bit cheesy/cliche (jinyoung’s a huge dork in this hehe think wmylb jinyoung, but like a much tamer and softer version. wmylb jinyoung is uh, very passionate in voicing his opinions, and we love that, its just not fitting for the image that i have for him in this drabble)
pairing: literature major jinyoung x arts major reader
word count: 2.3k
you stared at the glowing laptop screen in front of you, eyes struggling to stay open, lashes fluttering, sleep threatening to take over. you couldn’t help but let out a small yawn, forcing yourself to keep your eyes open. the hardest exam of your life, and one that would have a major effect on your grade, was less than a week away, and you had barely looked at any of the review material. you had been so caught up in finishing your arts project and focusing on raising your grade that the anatomy exam had slipped your mind. and now, here you were, at three o clock in the morning, fighting sleep, trying to cram in information. you couldn’t believe you had been so foolish and careless. anatomy had always been a subject that you struggled in, and because you were stubborn and didn’t want people to think you were pathetic or lazy, you refused your professor’s suggestion to enlist the help of a tutor. you were so confident and sure that you could improve on your own, and well, you had never felt so idiotic in your life.
despite looking over the review material and pouring over pages of the dictionary sized textbook you had to lug around nearly every day, not a single ounce of information seemed to be sticking. the last few days had been spent relentlessly studying countless websites, books, review material, and just about anything that could potentially help you. you were beginning to get a bit stressed out, but you supposed that all of this was because of you. after all, you were the one who had decided to neglect studying for an exam all to work on some stupid art project instead. “just a day in the life.” you mumbled, eyes focusing on the laptop screen in front of you, the blue light illuminating the darkness of your dorm, casting dark shadows onto the white carpeted floor.
sighing, you shut your laptop closed and flopped back onto your bed in defeat, head softly hitting your pillow. there was no use in fighting sleep, after all, you could barely focus and dawn was drawing near, and soon you would have to trek across campus at exactly six a.m. for your early morning history lecture. sleep soon took over and all thoughts of studying and the exam faded away as you drifted off into dreamland.
the next morning, you awoke to a soft knock on your door. groaning, you reluctantly got out of bed and went to answer it. to your surprise, it was jinyoung, dressed in an oversized white turtleneck, dark jeans, and loafers, holding two cups of warm coffee and a light blue paper bag.  his soft black hair was adorably rumpled, and despite it being five a.m., jinyoung still looked as gorgeous as ever, which you envied. “oh, hi jinyoung. what are you doing here?” you asked, rubbing the sleep from your eyes. “well, i figured you were up late last night again and i dropped by the cafe down the street, and i thought i’d just come by and give you some coffee. hopefully it’ll give you some energy. oh, and i brought some sandwiches that my roommate made last night. trust me, it’s not poisonous. jaebeom hyung’s a lot of things, and one of them is the ability to make a great sandwich.” you chuckled as he handed over your cup of coffee and the paper bag. “thanks for the coffee and the food. i’ll see you later?” “i-i was wondering if you wanted to walk to class together? “i’d love to. oh, please come inside. it’s a bit messy, so don’t mind all the clutter. i haven’t had time to clean lately.” jinyoung shook his head. “it’s fine. jaebeom hyung’s the same. he doesn’t have time to clean because he’s always so busy with writing music and classes, so i do all the cleaning in the dorm.” you gestured for jinyoung to sit on the couch, to make himself feel comfortable, and then disappeared into your room to take a quick shower and put on a decent outfit.
as you and jinyoung walked across campus, he told you all about the song that jaebeom was working on for the upcoming showcase that your university put on every month. “wait, so he composes his own songs?” jinyoung nodded. “he does, its pretty impressive, if i’m being honest. he’s been writing songs ever since he could walk. jaebeom hyung wants to become a singer one day.” “ i wouldn’t be surprised if he does, he’s really talented.” you had seen jaebeom peforrm a few times, and his voice was smooth and angelic and unique, and you had no doubt that he would get recognized for his singing one day. “so, what’s been going on with you? haven’t seen you in a while.” “ah, well, my professors are bombarding me with assignments and i have an essay due next week, but it’s tolerable, i guess. been trying to take a breather every now and then, get my shit together, the usual. anwyays, enough about me, how have you been doing?”
you grimaced. “well, i haven’t been getting much sleep lately.  i kinda got too preoccupied in finishing an art project that i forgot all the about the anatomy exam i’m supposed to take, and it may or may not be less than a week away. so, i’ve been cramming.” jinyoung sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration. “are you kdiding me, y/n?” you laughed nervously. “uh, oops?” jinyoung shook his head, letting out a defeated sigh. “how long has this been going on for?” “u-uh a f-few days?” you looked away, not wanting to see the frustrated and worried expression on jinyoung’s face, fighting back tears. ever since you had met jinyoung on a particular sunny day last summer, the two of you had gone through a lot together, from comforting each other after breakups to taking care of each other when one of you was drunk. you hated making jinyoung worry, as he had enough to deal with, and you didn’t want to burden him. “why didn’t you tell me you were having a hard time?” he asked, and you forced yourself to look at him, instantly regretting it. his gorgeous brown eyes were filled with concern and a worried frown was set upon his perfect lips, and you immediately felt as if you had been stabbed in the gut. “i-im sorry,i just didn’t want to be a burden.” you mumbled, trying to hold back tears. before you knew it, you were engulfed in a hug, strong arms wrapping around you, holding you tight. you felt jinyoung rub comforting circles on your back, and that alone was enough for you to break down, crying into the soft fabric of his sweater. all the pent up stress you had been holding in was finally let out, and jinyoung just held you, not uttering a single word, listening to your soft sobs. after your tears had subsided, you pulled away, wiping your eyes with the back of your hand, sniffling. “s-sorry about your sweater.” jinyoung waved away your apology. “don’t worry about it, i’m not gonna freeze to death just because you got tears on it.”
“anyways, i’m sorry for not telling you.” “it’s ok, but y/n, please know that i’m always here for you and that you’re never a burden.” you felt your heart ache at how sincere he sounded, and despite his reassurances, you still felt extremely guilty for keeping your feelings locked away.
“i’m a phonecall or a text away, remember that. i’m always here for you, you know that, right?” you nodded. “thank you, jinyoung.” “no need to thank me, y/n.”
after class, you were feeling a bit better, as you had finally sought help from your classmates on the upcoming exam, and they had given you an overwhelming amount of notes, all of which were extremely detailed and well-written. and, as you were walking towards your dorm, you heard a familiar voice call out to you. turning, you saw im jaebeom, music major and jinyoung’s roommate, running towards you, a white envelope in his hand. “hey, you’re y/n, right?” he asked once he caught up to you, a bit breathless. “yeah, why?” jaebeom seemed to brighten at this, eyes turning into crescents as he smiled, gently placing the envelope in your hand. “jinyoung wanted me to give this to you. he’s in the library, working on an essay if you want to see him.” before you could say anything, jaebeom gave you a small wave before walking off to the other side of campus, leaving you speechless. what just happened? you thought as you opened the envelope, careful not to rip it. inside was a delicate piece of paper, with jinyoung’s familiar looping script written all over it.
“dear y/n, ever since we met, i’ve always thought you were bright. for example, your smile. your smile practically lights up your face and makes my heartbeat a little faster. i’m aware this is quite cheesy, but its true. ever since we met, you have been the brightest person in my world, and the one girl who has managed to break down these walls i’ve kept around me for so long. before i met you, i didn’t know what love was, or rather, why people bothered with it. but, that all changed when i laid eyes on you. you were the most stunning girl i had ever seen, let alone meet, and when you said”hi, my name’s y/n”, i felt my world turn upside down, but, in a good way. you were the person who showed me that it’s ok to love. you also showed me how beautiful love can be. it doesn’t have to be destructive or painful or terrifying. love can be exciting and thrilling and life-changing. even though i’m a literature major and have written more essays than i can count, i seem to struggle with words whenever i’m around you, thus why i’m putting my feelings on paper. i like you, a lot. i’ve liked you ever since you bumped into me on that fateful day, you were the one who has managed to sweep me off my feet, quite literally, i might add, and though i am awkward and clumsy and not as mysterious and alluring as jaebeom hyung, i do have some worth. anyways, please meet me in the library after you read this, and if you don’t, then i know that you don’t feel the same. it’s ok if you don’t, but i just wanted to get this off my chest.
sincerely,
park jinyoung
you felt tears prick the back of your eyes as you practically ran to the library, your heart aching. you didn’t know jinyoung felt that way about you, and you were so happy that he felt the same. you had liked him since the beginning, and you had fallen in love with his smile and all of his quirks. jinyoung was easily one of the most attractive guys on campus, with perfect eyebrows, a cute nose, perfectly sculpted cheekbones, gorgeous brown eyes, and one ot the prettiest smiles you had ever seen. his smile was stunning and never failed to take your breath away, eyes crinkling at the corners, perfect white teeth on display. his laugh was endearing and a sound that you would never get tired of hearing. on top of all that, he had a heart of gold, and was unfailingly kind and polite towards anyone, and also very selfless and humble.
as soon as you arrived in the library, you looked around for jinyoung, and immediately spotted him at a table near the back, typing on his laptop, eyebrows furrowed in concentration. you rushed over to him, heart beating wildly in your chest, and cleared your throat, causing him to look up from his laptop in surprise. “y/n?” he asked, practically scrambling off the chair he’d been sitting on, gently grabbing ahold of your wrist. “what’s wrong? did something happen?” you took a deep breath and grabbed ahold of his sweater, the fabric bunching up in your hands, pulling him towards you and kissing him. you felt him jump a bit in surprise, but he quickly reciprocated the kiss, wrapping his arms around you. the kiss was short and sweet, but you enjoyed every minute of it. when you pulled away, a faint shade of pink had settled across jinyoung’s face. “i-i never knew you were so bold, y/n.” he teased, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he smiled. “i didn’t either, but i had to do it before i chickened out.” “so, does that mean you like me?” you fought the urge to roll your eyes. “yes, of course, jinyoung. i don’t just go up to random guys on campus and kiss them you know.” “i-i just wanted to make sure.” “ah, you’re so cute, jinyoung.” “s-shut up. i’m not cute.” “hmm, yes you are.” “anyways, will you be my girlfriend, then?” “well, considering that i just kissed the hell out of you in the middle of a library, i think it’d be foolish if we weren’t dating after that, so yes, yes i will.”
a/n: hehe jinyoung drabble done!! i hope you all enjoyed this lengthy drabble!! i have two more got7 drabbles to write/post and then i will go back to my planned bts ones :) again, this drabble is dedicated to cara, aka @yongcherie one of my favorite humans ever (sends kisses and hugs) ily angel 💞💞and this is also dedicated to my sister issy aka @taeramisu bc i love her and she’s the one of the loveliest angels ever💖

oc facts: charlie
no one tagged me i just love her a lot
Tumblr media
PLACE IN SOCIETY
✖ FINANCIAL – wealthy / moderate / poor / in poverty
like all of my oc/canon girls, charlie is filthy rich - and all of it came from her parents, a politician/university professor and a med school lecturer/a highly respected surgeon. some of those money her parents got from their families; but the point is - charlie never had to worry about money. (until she met her soon-to-be husband who robbed her blind.) charlie has no problems with sharing her wealth with those in need - she frequently donates to various fundraising campaigns.
✖ MEDICAL – fit / moderate / sickly / disabled / disadvantaged
she’s bit of a couch potato, and a bit clumsy too; she certainly wouldn’t run in a marathon, and finds herself out of breath after a short, intense jog - but it’s nothing too severe. what she lacks in shape, she makes up with agility - she practices yoga, which renders her a tad more agile than an average person. she still can’t do a lot of things though.
✖ CLASS OR CASTE – upper / lower / middle / working / unsure
charlie is, whether she likes it or not, a member of the social elite. her father spent two terms as a mayor of metropolis when she was a kid, and is an active politician, and a college professor. her mother is a globally renowned as a surgeon and comes from european nobility. charlie grew up with children of ceos, leaders, celebrities - and even after the untimely demise of her parents at the hands of her husband and moving to metropolis, she still finds herself amount the elite, quickly befriending bruce wayne himself, as well as getting cautious attention of the maroni crime family, one of gotham’s assistant district attorneys and thomas elliot - one of gotham’s golden boys, a highly esteemed surgeon and her mother’s pet student. and whether all of this is good... that is a different matter entirely.
✖ EDUCATION – qualified / unqualified / studying
charlie has a master’s degree in english literature - nothing more, and nothing less.
FAMILY
✖ MARITAL STATUS – married, happily / married, unhappily / engaged  / partnered / divorced / widow or widower / separated / single / it’s complicated
she’s a widow - because she killed her husband. it was an ugly mess of a situation - he killed her parents, stole her fortune (in the canon verse - in various aus this changes, depending on what I have in mind) and ran away, prompting her to go on a wild goose chase across the globe, culminating in her finally tracking him down and stabbing him to death with an ice pick. one thing she hadn’t expected though was ending up in a long-term, happy, loving relationship with oz: gotham’s prodigal son, a failed revolutionary and a loyal friend to his (at times unwilling) loved ones.
✖ CHILDREN – has children / no children / wants children / adopted children
the idea of motherhood is kinda scary to her - she’s not opposed to being a cool aunt to someone else’s kid though. (in chasing echoes oswald is eventually going to pull jason todd to his side, and charlie’s gonna develop a fun, unexpectedly satisfying relationship with bruce’s troubled ex-errand boy.)
✖ FAMILY – close with sibling / not close with siblings / has no siblings / siblings are deceased / it’s complicated
✖ AFFILIATION – orphaned / adopted / disowned / raised by both parents / it’s complicated
even though charlie - painfully aware of her own personal mediocrity - sometimes felt like she doesn’t quite fit in with her social, accomplished parents - they still made a happy family. for various reasons, her relationship with her mother - eleanor - was always just a bit strained and tense; but it was still, above everything else, loving.
TRAITS & TENDENCIES
✖ disorganized / organised / in between
if left to her own devices, charlie’s going to inevitably scatter her belongings everywhere, forget about doing the dishes and start getting late to things. due to unfortunate depression - time simply flows differently for her.
✖ close-minded / open-minded / in between
charlie is very open-minded, thanks to her father being an outspoken leftist - perhaps even a bit too open-minded. after the split-second of initial confusion, she’d be willing to accept everything - even a violent “revolution”. even an unjust revenge. some may call it open-mindedness; others - naivete.
✖ cautious / reckless / in between
in general, she’s rather cautious - mostly thanks to overwhelming depression and anxiety that make her doubt her every move.
✖ patient / impatient / in between
most of the time, she’s patient - but then come those times when she’s waiting for oz to hurry up and pay attention to her. then, suddenly, she’s the most impatient, almost nagging person you’ve ever met. it has a lot of charm though, because she’s well-aware of being a pain in the ass.
✖ outspoken / reserved / in between
this is something her parents taught her - have your opinion, but know a time and place for it. don’t reveal too much to people you don’t trust, or to people you want to see gone. after all, her mother did come from a noble family, and her father did have a political career. even if he kept challenging his rivals to fistfights.
✖ leader / follower / in between
charlie has absolutely NO desire to lead, or to be in the spotlight - and to be honest... she kind of doesn’t understand people who do. it’s just too responsible, too difficult, too stressful.
✖ sympathetic / unsympathetic / in between
charlie has a lot of sympathy for other people - and that’s why her short-lived marriage with a con artist struggling to pay off his debt to the mafia was so tragic: she would’ve helped him if he asked, no questions asked.
✖ optimistic / pessimistic / in between
though she might appear to be an optimistic ray of sunshine - she’s actually very, very pessimistic. she actually did go through her fair share of feeling deeply let down by people in her life; so she tends to look at every relationship - and every possible scenario - without a glimmer of hope.
✖ hardworking / lazy / in between
you know how i said she inherited a fortune from her parents?
yeah.
(to be fair, she did work hard for her degree, so it’s not like she doesn’t know how to put effort into things. she simply never really had to put that effort into anything, thanks to her financial stability.)
✖ cultured / uncultured / in between
despite appearing as a ditzy socialite only interested in fashion and gossip - charlie is actually very cultured. she knows quite a lot about many topics, from french cuisine to religious traditions of indigenous cultures; her parents made sure she knows as much about the world as possible.
the problem is - she’s painfully disinterested in most of those topics, instead pretending to stick to things she’s actually into: fashion, games, literature.
✖ loyal / disloyal / in between
all it takes to earn her loyalty is to give her affection and attention; and she’ll be yours forever. she’s also not above being loyal to two people whose causes clash; she can be loyal to her lover, who wishes to kill harvey dent - but also to her friend, who wants to see dent flourish.
✖ faithful / unfaithful / in between
she’s faithful, she’s monogamous, she’s not afraid to wrap herself around her partner in public to make sure everyone sees how much in a relationship they are with each other.
(she might sometimes fantasize about doing the deed with someone other than her partner though. like fish mooney, because have you SEEN fish mooney? charlie had.)
SEXUALITY & ROMANTIC INCLINATION
✖ SEXUALITY – heterosexual / homosexual / bisexual / asexual / pansexual / omnisexual / demisexual
charlie is bi, without any actual preference for her partner’s gender. fate (me, it was me, it wasn’t fate) caused her to mostly end up getting intimate with guys - but her first partner was a girl, she’s very into fish mooney and selina kyle and she did once have a massive crush on lex luthor’s sister.
✖ SEX – sex repulsed / sex neutral /sex favorable
charlie LOVES sex - but only with the right person. she’s definitely not against talking about it with people she’s only platonically involved with, and has nothing against having others go at it in appropriate semi-public spaces, assuming it doesn’t go too far.
but yeah. she likes sex. it makes her feel good, plain and simple - and she likes the sense of connection between her and her partner, as well as feeling comfortably vulnerable and excited.
✖ ROMANCE – romance repulsed / romance neutral / romance favorable
charlie really craves romance. she wants - needs - to both feel the butterflies in her stomach, and to be a source of someone else’s butterflies. she craves the casual intimacy, tender words, affectionate gestures... it’s all like water to her: an absolute necessity.
✖ SEXUALLY – sexually adventurous / sex experienced / naive / inexperienced / curious / uninterested
while she’s not actually very experienced - she has a lot of fantasies and ideas she’d love to try out one day. she’s also not averse to toys and porn; even if she tends to not watch a lot of porn, for various reasons.
(such as: various fundamental problems rooted in modern-day porn industry, like incessant violence, name-calling and really bad camera work.)
ABILITIES
✖ COMBAT SKILLS – excellent / good / moderate / poor / none
to be honest, she only knows Woman’s Self Defense 101: the heel-stomp, the deadly elbow, the nails.
oh, and she also knows how to stab people. and oz taught her to shoot.
✖ LITERACY SKILLS – excellent / good / moderate / poor / none
she has a master’s degree in english literature.
except we all know this doesn’t mean SHIT, since there are people with actual degrees claiming kylo ren is queer and femme coded out there, so: she’s actually damn good at reading and understanding things and picking up subtexts and nuanced aspects. her father was a college professor, remember? he was a good teacher, and she was a good student.
✖ ARTISTIC SKILLS – excellent / good / moderate / poor / none
she has, and i can’t emphasize this enough, negative artistic skills, both verbal and visual.
(”but she has a master’s degr-” have you ever read anyone’s master’s thesis? because i did.)
this is one of the core roots of her depressive thoughts also.
✖ TECHNICAL SKILLS – excellent / good / moderate / poor / none
give this girl a piece of paper and tell her to fold it in half and moments later the paper’s gonna be torn and on fire and she’s gonna be having a depressive meltdown.
she is... not very good at using her hands to make things happen. this is actually one of those few things her parents did wrong; they kind of overlooked this part of their kid’s development, and as a result - charlie is a clumsy mess.
and, by the gods, don’t give her a hammer. unless you really hate all of your kitchenware, that is.
