i’m doing this for haikyuu on my kagehina blog and after reading Onee-chan by @patamon, i’ve been inspired to do it for my chosen bbys so here it goes:

daisuke teaches ken how to cook; you’d think it’d be the other way around, but if his mother isn’t around, ken resorts to depression meals. this becomes daisuke teaching the rest of the 02 kids cos hikari can barely boil water, miyako relies on her family’s convenience store snacks, takeru’s diet consists of mainly tv dinners unless he goes to yamato’s, and iori just wants to learn to help out his family

takeru starts calling sora Nee-san at like 12—it’s an accident at first but then he just continues to call her that and sora’s secretly warmed by it

you can’t tell me koushiro doesn’t game on like Steam or something, he really enjoys puzzle games. he’s secretly competitive and loves online play.

the chosen share acct info for many active subscriptions/streaming services and it’s kind of the perfect set up:

youtube? somebody has premium, there’s only 5 or 6 profiles available so they share

taichi prbly pays for crunchyroll

amazon prime? hahah yep many addresses are saved

netflix? hulu? mimi prbly pays for that

if someone is having trouble financially or they’re like “hey guys sorry we’re gonna have to skip this month for [x subscription], money’s tight” someone else is like “nah fam i gotchu, don’t worry abt it” 

food delivery services for groceries and/or dining?? yamato prbly pays for that specifically to ensure his little bro gets some nutrients when he’s not available to cook 💙💛 (also he supports daisuke teaching takeru learning how to cook but requests frequent updates and pictures so he knows takeru isn’t getting hurt)

nintendo switch online? xbox game pass? someone has something; takeru prbly spends a lot of time gaming with hikari and taichi/yamato like to make bets on mario kart

the chosen have a discord server that started for digital world-related things but evolved into a chaotic mess of digimon/pet pics, tv show/book/anime/manga/music recs, memes, school/homework help, advice, and other random shenanigans

koushiro gets a dog. yes i know i wrote abt this already but i can’t stop thinking abt koushiro being a lonely kiddo and his mom knows

food is a great way to bribe someone—jou with coffee, takeru & hikari with sweets, koushiro with tea, etc.

hikari has a massive sticker collection, she hoards them the way taichi hoards video games

miyako is not above commissioning fanfics from takeru; she writes them herself too but gets a lot of writing pointers from takeru

mimi has a big following on social media and she pulls a lot of the other chosen into it, including an exasperated jou, a very confused koushiro, and ofc famous rock icon Ishida Yamato

after (prbly accidentally) learning that ken suffers from depression, the older chosen create a separate chat for mental health <333 they’re always finding ways to spend time together so nobody is lonely (lookin at you, takeru)

HAIKYUU SEXUALITY HEADCANONS

🐦‍⬛ Karasuno Editon 🐦‍⬛

Sawamura Daichi: Bisexual with the slightest female preference. Obviously he somewhat likes girls already in canon (The Kiyoko hand holding scene anyone???) And he just seems like the kind of man who could fall in love with another man if he found the right one. (cough*KUROO*cough). I could also see him being a straight but supportive ally as well.

Sugawara Koushi: Pansexual. He just gives off the vibe of not caring at all about the gender of his partner. He just wants to give love and receive just as much love right back.

Azumane Asahi: Pansexual. I am honestly not quite sure why I headcanon him as such, it just feels RIGHT for some reason.

Nishinoya Yuu: Pansexual. Similarly to Sugawara, I feel like Nishinoya cares little about the gender of his partner, my man just trying to be in a relationship without blowing a fuse from embarrassment every five seconds.

Tanaka Ryuunosuke: Bisexual with a heavy female preference. Obviously Tanaka likes girls, crush and eventual relationship with Kiyoko notwithstanding, he'll take any girl that gives him the time of day. But Tanaka/Noya and Ennoshita/Tanaka have my heart in a headlock so yeah self explanatory.

Ennoshita Chikara: Bisexual with no preference. He's definitely had crushes on girls, hell he's had a tiny puppy crush on Kiyoko at one point. But then he sees Kinoshita Hisashi for the first time and goes "huh so this is what going to heaven feels like–"

Kinoshita Hisashi: Gay. Look my Kinoshita Hisashi profile picture in the eyes and tell me you think he would like anything but men. Narita unintentionally has his heart in a death grip.

Narita Kazuhito: Bisexual with a slight male preference. I feel like Narita has had crushes on and even dated girls when he was younger. Then he met Ennoshita and Kinoshita in his first year and his brain took a swan dive into LGBT territory. He's had a small crush on Ennoshita that lasted like a week, then he saw Kinoshita laughing without restraint for the first time, and he hasn't had another crush since.

Kageyama Tobio: Bisexual with no preference. Contrary to popular belief, I think that Kageyama has the capacity to crush on girls. Not even his "volleyball is life" brain can deny Kiyoko's beauty. But his relationship with Hinata is where the capacity to love boys come from.

Hinata Shoyo: Pansexual. Loves anyone and anything that gives him the time of day. His heart is very big.

Tsukishima Kei: Aromantic Asexual. I just don't see him liking anyone at all. He just wants to survive high school and play volleyball that's literally it. The only person on the team who is immune to Kiyoko's beauty.

Yamaguchi Tadashi: Pansexual. Similarly to Hinata, I see him as having a lot of love to give.

Already regretting because how dare you make me choose ?

1. Bokuto Kotarou : I'm literally Him IRL, like the dumb of the ass and insufferable energy and the loud voice- 100% Me. I love him.

2. Kozume Kenma : Do I even need to say it ? Just look at my profile picture. He's so pretty. Also he's a nerd. He's a baby with social anxiety. I love him.

3. Nishinoya Yuu : He's also Me lmaooo I love him so much!! He's 100% the reason why I started volleyball. I wanted to be a libero because he's so fucking cool. When I put a Rolling Thunder during matches, people are impressed because this isn't the usual way of recep (they often believe I hurt myself)

4. Tsukishima Kei : he's such a bullyyyyyy !!! Tall Blonde and Gorgeous, our favorite french fry a bit too salty aasshfkxkkslsl that boy roasted the entire public with just a stare pleaaaase no one does it like him (except maybe Kuroo and Daishou). I love him.

5. Oikawa Tooru : So Pretty So Precious So Savage he deserves the world like really why didn't he went to the Nationals ? That was fucking homophobic I've never accepted it (/j) He's also an idiot but it's okay I love him that way.

Now. Given the profile picture for this blog. I feel the need to make a Strong Case for Hinata and Kageyama. So I will be doing just that!

I know Michaelangelo is some Strong ADHD Energy, but I am determined to sway the vote. Hinata doesn't just have ADHD habits and vibes. He Visibly Displays Nearly All The Symptoms. He funnels all his hyperactivity into his sport of choice, he goes into Such Hyperfocus mid-game like we constantly have moments where his entire body is struggling to keep up with his passion It's Fucking Amazing, he gets So Emotional and he physically flails and jumps or slumps or twists in on himself every single emotion is just too big for his tiny tiny body, he has difficulties studying and concentrating on anything that isn't of constant interest (read: anything that is not volleyball), He Uses!!!! Sound Effects!!!!!! Instead Of Words!!!!!!!!! That's not like. A specific symptom, but you look me in the fucking eye and tell me that's not an ADHD Trait. The ADHD is So Tangible with him, right down to the difficulty forming and maintaining interpersonal relationships; he had friends in middle school in the first episode/few chapters and then they went to different high schools and they Did Not Speak until the others went to one of his volleyball games and he went ':0!!!!! Friends!!!!! Friends Who I Have Not Seen!!!!!! :D!!!!!!!' And he essentially has no friends outside of his volleyball club, the people he spends nigh all of his free time training with. Also volume control issues.

(I have ADHD and not Autism, so this half is the part where I'm not quite as refined, BUT!) We all know. Donatello Hamato of AutismSwagSummit fame. However, have you considered: Kageyama who is introduced as a character who speaks with a level of bluntness and intensity that offputs people very easily. Part of his Entire Initial Character Arc is learning how to relate to and smoothly communicate with others and you can see how legitimately fucking difficult that shit is for him even though he wants to be good at it, he wants to understand the people around him and make himself properly understood because not understanding and not being understood is so hard and so lonely. I would like to add motor control issues to the list of Kageyama symptoms and you might think 'Wait, but he play sport, and part of his whole thing is Being Really Really Good At Sport, a thing you would need good motor control for' and to THAT I say: he is so square. All of the time he is a rekt dangle. During games he is so so precise and exact and efficient, and in all otger contexts, he walks like he has placed himself on rails. Volleyball Sepecial Interest? Volleyball Special Interest. Volume control issues but again.

Not only that, but Hinata and Kageyama put the vs in ADHD vs Autism. They are soulmates in the sense that they latch onto one another and are rendered incapable of extricating themselves from one another. They are soulmates in the sense of being sworn rivals. They are soulmates in the sense of needing one another deeply. Canonically Hinata is the reason Kageyama was ever able to crack out of his old lonely self, canonically Kageyama is the reason Hinata is well and truly empowered in the way he craves for the first time in his life. They feed off of and give to one another in that way only ADHD-to-Autism Brainmelding can truly accomplish. They Are The ADHD vs Autism Of All Time!!

I love Haikyuu!! and I do have autism so I 100% know what you're saying about Kageyama. I would also like to add his difficulty with matching his face to his emotions, his most comfortable state is the 😑 it's an active effort for him to mirror other people's expressions. Which leads to his genuine smiles looking intense/creepy to other people.
