Una delle serie che più mi ha lasciato un segno è

13 reasons why.

Una serie che tratta argomenti di bullismo,problemi adolescenziali,suicidio e omicidio in maniera molto diretta.

Nelle 4 stagioni tutto è incentrato sul suicidio di Hanna Baker(che avviene nella prima stagione) che prima di togliersi la vita lascia,via posta,un pacco con 13 cassette dove in ognuna di loro c'è descritto un motivo e una persona per cui lei ha deciso di suicidarsi.Il pacco con le cassette gira tra il gruppo di amici che Hanna accusa della sua morte senza che però loro si dicano nulla.Ognuno di loro è un tassello rilevante nella storia della studentessa del Liberty High il college che frequentava prima di morire.

Tra i 13 ragazzi c'è anche Clay,che è uno dei pochi amici di Hanna a cui si era legata sinceramente.Lui a differenza di tutti gli altri ragazzi cerca in ogni stagione il vero motivo per cui Hanna abbia deciso di morire e cercare di capire cosa centrano tutti gli altri.

Nelle 4 stagioni tutti e 13 ragazzi affrontano diverse situazioni complicate per le loro vite e alcuni di loro muoiono in circostanze gravi.Ma ognuno di loro è legato in modo sia positivo che negativo a Hanna.

Questa serie è una delle poche che ha ricevuto la mia attenzione dalla prima all'ultima stagione anche se è una serie molto drammatica in alcuni episodi c'è un senso di legame forte tra tutti i 13 ragazzi che messi davanti alle difficoltà dell'adolescenza cercano di affrontare i loro drammi.

Since I had suicide thoughts I never really got rid of them. Sometimes I’m better and sometimes I can barely remember how it was having suicidal thoughts. But then something happens. And it doesn’t have to be a big deal. Seems like a teeny tiny bit of depression or a wrong word or a stressful day are enough for me to absolutely lose control. And when I fall I drown. I drown. I drown again on these thoughts. Sometimes there’s a little problem and in the next second I am like „Well, okay. That’s it. You’re gotta kill yourself now. Sooo which death do you prefer? Jump off a bridge, take pills, cut your wrists..?“. And the moment I let the thoughts in is exactly the moment I can’t think of anything else anymore. But sometimes it seems like the thoughts are also kinda calming for my soul because they are like a safe port. Whenever something seems to go wrong or when I am hurt I immediately think of killing myself and that gives me a feeling of having the control. It comforts me because I know I could end it all anytime and that I don’t have to do this any longer. Funny thing. Because I always decide to go on a little more just to see what happens next and afterwards I go and Hanna Baker myself. But then I fall in love with something. The way a person smells, my dogs, the feeling after a long day at work where you feel all your bones and know you did something, the way someone looks at another person who they secretly love, the moon and the stars, flowers when they wake up and follow the sun, kind people, the way a voice can comfort you, animals, someone trusting me even though they know I am ill, paws, petrichor, plants, discovering a new smell you absolutely love, observing water when it flows, idk. Just small details but I see them and I don’t wanna die anymore. And then I go on. And the next second something dramatic happens. Not dramatic at all. But for me it is. For me everything is dramatic. And the circle goes on. Please take me out of this carrousel.

So I made a favorite list of all the g/t-themed stories I have found and enjoyed over the years. I've been meaning to organize it into a list for some time now, so it's easier for me to find them again. (they get lost in my favorite folder, just a pain to go through it all.) This story’s main character is a human teenager named River; she has to navigate being human in her new family of giants. Their way of life is similarly built around their trades, which are the lifeblood of their communities. ( I just took some of the authors summary to describe this one, it’s a good read!)
