Regression Isaac Lahey 30 Days Agere
Tumblr media
He likes Pooh's Heffalump movie!! I definitely think hed like the bright colours and the friendship aspect!!!
Bluey and Bear in the big blue house!!!
Yes. Yes. Yessss!!! He loves sleeping with stuffies, it makes him feel safe!!!
He LOVESS dogs!!!
I think he wasn't really allowed to have lots of colours when a kid :( so I think he'd really like lots of pastel colours!!! <33
Derek!!! (And Melissa) 😌
He's slowly getting a collection. Once again I feel like he wasn't allowed loads as a kid and that stuck with him, his friends and caregivers are constantly trying to let him know it's okay to have safety items! 🥹
He prefers colouring over drawing as he prefers having a set space to keep his creativity to.
SYLVANIAN FAMILIESSSS!! 🥹 I will live and die on this hill!! He loves them! 😌 (And dinosaurs!!!)
Depends. Sometimes he likes neither. It really depends on how small he's gone.
Little gear wise he has; small baby blanket, box of fidget toys, a few sippy cups and baby bottles, some pacifiers, chewalry & teethers, few toy cars, dinosaurs, dolls and Sylvanian families and a few stuffies!!! (A blue and brown dog, wolf plush and a little pink teddy)
Animal Jam!!! Animal crossing and any hello kitty game!!!
His favourite play date would be with Stiles, Scott and Erica. (maybe some of the other regressors.) At the animal clinic with the doggies! And Deaton and Derek watching over them!!!
He loves both but he's a sucker for a build a bear!!!
Halloween!!! He loves the spooky season!!!
Watching TV and playing with toys!!!
He hates both for reasons... but can be coaxed into baths with enough toys and bath bombs.
Chicken nuggiesssssss!!!!!
He regresses anywhere between 2-5!!!
Stiles and Scott are his brothers!!! Erica is his sister!!!! 🥹❤️
Sweet!! He likes super sweet snacks!!!! (Derek has to make sure Isaac watches his sugar intake 🥰)
Rapunzel and Belle!!!
He loves stickers!! He stickersss anything within his reach!! (Even people) Derek has been victim to this multiple times. 😂😂
Loves all animals but Dogs are his favourite!!!
Colourful!!!
Disney songs and music box versions of songs he likes!!!

7 Shows To Stream This Fall For A Cozy, Fun, Or Spooky Night In
It’s that time of year again when the weather has cooled and a night snuggled up on the couch sounds more appealing than ever. Maybe you want to enjoy a nice glass of wine, or something hot to drink or perhaps you are looking for viewing options on one of your many streaming services.
There are never-ending options of movies and series to watch if you have the time but if you want some help narrowing down where to start this fall, I have my picks for you. A few are family and others not so much, but all are entertaining and worth a watch. So here’s my list of shows to stream this fall.
7 Shows To Stream This Fall
Bodies
Four detectives in four different time periods of London find themselves investigating the same murder. - IMDB
You will be intrigued by the mystery and the how and why but you need to pay attention to keep track of timelines and investigations. Categorized as crime, drama, and history, Bodies, a limited series, is now streaming on Netflix.
The Fall of The House of Usher
To secure their fortune (and future) two ruthless siblings build a family dynasty that begins to crumble when their heirs mysteriously die, one by one. - IMDB
This Edgar Allan Poe-inspired series is dark, spooky, and sexy. With a strong supernatural element, each episode is named after and closely aligns with a Poe tale. For Poe fans, like myself, you will be intrigued by how each story is woven and connected to his classic work. Categorized as drama, horror, and mystery, you can watch all ten episodes of The Fall of the House of Usher on Netflix.
The Morning Show
An inside look at the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning, exploring the unique challenges faced by the team. - IMDB
Season 3 just dropped on Apple TV and it does not disappoint. This show is binge-worthy, fun, and completely over the top in some of the best ways. The Morning Show is streaming now on Apple TV.
Goosebumps
A group of five high schoolers unleash supernatural forces upon their town. Now, they must work together in order to save it. - IMDB
Based on R.L. Steins work, this family-friendly spooky viewing. Categorized as adventure, comedy, and fantasy, Goosebumps can be watched on both Hulu and Disney Plus.
The Wheel of Time
Set in a high fantasy world where magic exists, but only some can access it, a woman named Moiraine crosses paths with five young men and women. This sparks a dangerous, world-spanning journey. Based on the book series by Robert Jordan. - IMDB
Season 2 recently premiered after a nearly two-year wait, and it was worth it. It is beautifully shot, and action-packed. We meet new characters, both heroes and villains, and learn more about the world created by Jordan. Seasons one and two are available to watch on Amazon Prime.
The Golden Bachelor
Follow a new kind of love for the golden years, when a hopeless romantic is given a second chance at love in the search for a partner with whom to share the sunset years of life. - IMDB
Yes, I know, this seems like an odd choice to be on this list but I just really enjoyed this show. It’s fun and sweet, and quite surprising. I highly recommend you give it a watch on Hulu.
The Midnight Club
The Midnight Club follows an octet of terminally ill teenage patients at Brightcliffe Hospice as they gather at midnight to share scary stories. - IMDB
Created by Mike Flanagan, the writer behind the Tha Haunting of Hill House and Black Mass. This is a dark show, for several reasons, and full of jump scares. You can watch all 10 episodes on Netflix.
I hope you enjoy my recommendations. Happy Fall watching!

Hiii. Ok idk how I wasn’t following the other blog already.
But
autumn - what’s your favorite part of the spooky season?
ghost - do you have any paranormal experiences?
nighttime - favorite halloween movie?
Thank you Grecy 🥰 literally the only reason for that other blog was bc when I made my tumblr about 434342354241 years ago, I didn't realise that you couldn't reply from a sideblog so now my "main" is just a reply blog/shit post blog for all of my dark academia goblin hoarding tendencies 😂 Anyway, thank you for sending these in!!
Autumn - what’s your favorite part of the spooky season? Is everything a good answer?? Lmao no I'll answer properly - decorating for the season is a definite favourite. Also it's rainy season where I live, like it rains the rest of the year too but a LOT in autumn so the rain and the temperature drop and the changing leaves are a big thing for me. It's also the time of year where I can get out my soup machine, I make pies constantly and feel like I can be a human again after summer 😂 I hate summer with my entire being
Nighttime - favorite halloween movie? Oooh I'm not a fan of horror movies, so I usually reach for the old school disney movies - Halloween Town is perfection. I'm also a fan of watching Harry Potter in the autumn, especially the third one because there are so many autumnal vibes.
Ooooh (not so) spooky ghost stories below!! Aka me just rambling about really dumb experiences I've had that can probably be explained easily.
Ghost - do you have any paranormal experiences? Ooh I definitely have a few weird stories from when I was younger, the only one from recent years was very weird but I'll share. In my old house that I lived in England before I moved to mainland Europe, it was a 70s build I think that was one in one of those classic townhouse rows in an industrial city - it was a super shitty neighbourhood but the house was nice. Anyway, apparently our landlord at the time had inherited this house from his mother who had passed away in the house and while we lived there for months on end, I had this super weird thing happening at least once a week, if not more. But in our bedroom, I would wake up in the middle of the night to this weird glow at the side of my bedroom, like white light glow. Now this was weird because: 1. I had blackout curtains and blinds on my window, so no light was getting in 2. It always happened in the middle of the night when the street lights were off 3. The light was white and it was physically in my bedroom, not a light that would come in like a passing car 4. no electronics were charging or glowing over on that side of the room because there were no outlets near there I swear I SWEAR on a few occasions in my sleep haze that I saw a woman in that light but idk. I also have had a history with sleep paralysis and nightmares that merge with real life so you can't tell real from imaginary which I was on and off going through at the time so the chances that my brain did that is pretty big but?? Who knows. Other people in my family have had absolutely fucking bone chilling stories and mine is of a disembodied woman's face floating in a white light at night lmao
Another "encounter" I had which could totally have an explanation was when I visited the tunnels below Edinburgh in Scotland. They were used by thieves and killers as well as the poor in the past. There's a witches coven down there now which is allowed by the association that runs the tourist visits and stuff. But I went down into those tunnels and there's tons of stories of them being haunted. I took a photo in a pitch black room, no windows, no light source, no one using flash and when I looked back at the photo there was this lovely little puff of white spooky smoke in the middle of the room. Oh - just to mention, the witches coven had put a ward on that room because of a demonic power and when I mentioned it later, they were like "yeah, that's the demon x" like BRO EXCUSE ME?? Idk if I believe in ghosts, but it's fun to think they might exist. I have no way of proving either way so I just sit on the fence with that one lmao.

Percy Jackson Let’s Go Ghouls Ghost Retro Funny Party Spooky Season Pumpkin Halloween shirt . and the Olympians fans are living well, as a brand-new adaptation of the series is currently in the works for Disney+. From what the author has been touting and the current general entertainment landscape, it seems the story will finally be getting the respect it’s due. With the series being five books long, hopefully, the show will be around for a while. As of now, the first season is set to adapt The Lightning Thief, Percy’s first big quest. While the casting of the story’s main trio did draw some controversy, the book’s author, Rick Riordan, has publicly defended them more than once. He’s very confident in who they’ve chosen to bring the franchise to a new generation of viewers. Now, thanks to some set photos, fans can get their first look at the three best friends in action.Let’s Go Ghouls Ghost Retro Funny Party Spooky Season Pumpkin Halloween shirt, hoodie, sweater, longsleeve and ladies t-shirt Classic Women's Long Sleeved Unisex Sweatshirt

Classic Men's One of the first things of note in the photos is the taxi cab with a Hades advertisement Let’s Go Ghouls Ghost Retro Funny Party Spooky Season Pumpkin Halloween shirt . For those who have read the books, the bright yellow car likely brought to mind the group’s interaction with The Fates and The Eye. Of course, there’s every chance that the car is simply set decoration, and the important scene happens somewhere different. Another of the photos shows the front of the Empire State Building, aka one of the most important locations in the entire series. This is where modern-day Olympus is and where the group will be visiting more than once. When it comes to the scenes at Mount Olympus itself, that will probably be filmed elsewhere on the sound stages alongside The Volume tech. Hopefully, when Percy Jackson and the Olympians hits Disney+ in 2023 or 2024, it’ll live up to the exceedingly high expectations being set for it. Cinderella Pumpkin Wreaths Have RETURNED to Magic Kingdom!
Cinderella Pumpkin Wreaths Have RETURNED to Magic Kingdom!
In case you haven’t already noticed, we’re a little bit obsessed with the Halloween season in Disney World. Halloween decor in Disney World From spooky snacks and souvenirs to frightful fun at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, there’s so much to experience during the fall season in the parks. Our first sign came in the form of pumpkins and jack-o’-lanterns lining a few of the buildings…

The cast of Only Murders in the Building
Forget who killed Tim Kono (Julian Cihi), the biggest twist in Hulu's murder mystery comedy was the criminally delightful chemistry between veteran comedic partners Martin Short and Steve Martin and their unexpected third amigo, Selena Gomez. Surrounded by game supporting suspects like Amy Ryan and Nathan Lane, the big three are so good together as aspiring podcast sleuths, Charles-Haden Savage, Oliver Putnam, and Mabel Mora, that they might have even been able to make Splash! The Musical work. —Derek Lawrence
~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
The cast of Ted Lasso
Jason Sudeikis' mustache-wearing, whistle-blowing Kansas transplant would be the first person to remind us that a team is only as strong as its weakest link. Fortunately for Ted Lasso, every single actor on the roster delivered a pitch-perfect performance in season 2, from Hannah Waddingham's steely Rebecca and Toheeb Jimoh's idealistic Sam, to the gut-wrenching slow-build of Nate's villain arc (executed masterfully by Nick Mohammed). Plus, we have to give a special shoutout to the swoon-worthy romance between Juno Temple's bubbly Keeley and Brett Goldstein's growling Roy Kent. (Hell, Goldstein's eyebrows almost deserve a "best performance" nod of their own.) And we haven't even mentioned standouts like Cristo Fernández as the endlessly energetic Dani Rojas, or James Lance as the silver-haired Trent Crimm (The Independent)! This is one team that's worth believing in. —D.C.
~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
Kathryn Hahn, WandaVision
The superhero genre is littered with forgettable, power-hungry villains — which is part of what makes Kathryn Hahn's WandaVision performance such a revelation. As nosy neighbor Agatha Harkness (a.k.a. Agnes), Hahn hits the perfect balance of comedic camp and malice, whether she's peeping over white-picket fences or belting out Grammy-nominated earworm "Agatha All Along." It's no wonder that she's getting her own Disney+ spin-off series. —D.C.
~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
Katja Herbers, Evil
The Devil works hard, but Katja Herbers worked even harder in the spooky Paramount+ thriller's second season as she explored the many ways Kristen's guilt over killing a man manifested itself  — from committing adultery to beating up a man in a grocery store for cutting in line and her dramatic confession to the police. The entire time she kept the audience wondering if she was actually possessed or dealing with a psychological issue. On top of that, Herbers also showed off her physical comedy chops in the show's excellent silent episode. That being said, Kristen's harrowing and full body breakdown in the finale was her best scene of the season, especially because of how convincingly she went from crying to making out with David in the wake of her confession. —Chancellor Agard
~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
Bowen Yang, Saturday Night Live
Bowen Yang has been a standout on Saturday Night Live since his freshman season, but 2021 felt like SNL was fully in its Bowen Era. The first Chinese American cast member and the first out gay man to survive beyond one season, Yang made history again as the first featured player to score an Emmy nomination. He was a highlight in sketches alongside even his most seasoned castmates, but really stole the show during stints on Weekend Update with a powerful — yet howlingly funny — commentary on the rise of anti-Asian hate crimes, a Fran Lebowitz impression that even the humorist was compelled to weigh in on, and a takedown of twink Willy Wonka by a proud gay Oompa Loompa, but it was his instant classic Iceberg That Sank the Titanic character, who just wanted to promote his album called simply Music, that melted away any doubt that Yang is the show's MVP. —Jillian Sederholm

Spooky Season!
Here’s some stuff for littles/cgs
Movie Nights
What a great way to start october. For littles I suggest asking your CG to watch movies and telling them your favorite movies.
Here’s a list of some great spooky but not too spooky movies:
Spookley the square pumpkin(A great movie overall)
Any of the disney mini series(There’s a toy story one and others) Every year disney releases or re-releases spooky season movies/shorts that are great for younglings!
Depending on the age: Hocus Pocus(Is a tiny bit scary not good for 3-4 year old little spacers but 5 and up is ok. If they get sacred ask them if they want to switch movies. Just be careful
Trick or Treating before halloween
Impatient little or busy on halloween. This is a great way to get your little engaged in Halloween activities. Just get a couple close friends that know your that your little regresses and put together a mini trick or treat. You could even make fake houses out of cardboard or line up on the street with bowls of candy. Either way a great way to have fun with your little!
Spooky themed coloring pages/crafting activites
If you live in america you can go to Michaels and get halloween crafts perfect for your littles. I also bet there’s a bunch of pumpkin, spider, ect. coloring pages that any little would love!
Decorating the house together
This could mean whatever whether you are building a cardboard house and then decorating it to decorating their house(If they are an adult) this is an awesome way to bond.
Spooky bath!
Set up a bath for your little! Put candles(Or fakes if it’s not safe enough), mini pumpkins, little spider webs, and halloween decorations around the tub. Maybe turn off the lights and rely on the candles. Maybe a pumpkin/halloween themed bath bomb. Some orange, purple, and black bath crayons. The creativity is endless. I know I would like this!
Thank you for reading my long list. I don’t have any dni banners yet, but no k!nk, nsfw, and don’t creepy message me.

hi eris! i also really connected with the depiction of anxiety in im3 and really appreciated it at the time, but tbh i feel like they kind of dropped it in the following movies, not just for tony but for like. everyone lol. but anyway! i also read a lot of embarrassing books but i'm trying to stop because i don't like them lol i just keep picking them up because they're the most accessible. trying to break the habit though. i just finished the starless sea and really enjoyed it, but based on the goodreads reviews it is not for everyone (not for any triggering or offensive reasons - it's just more of a words-on-a-page book than a plot-and-characters book. if that makes sense.) since we've already talked about fave existing holiday media, what's something you'd want to see a holiday short/episode for? personally i think the mcu spiderman has christmas special potential but they would've had to do it like three years ago. (answer does not have to be disney channel related)
no you’re so right!! it drives me crazy! whenever i rewatch the movies after im3 it’s like y’all really didn’t learn… anything and didn’t want to build on those characterizations which is why as much as i hate civil war and j*ss whedon i love civil war and age of ultron cause i feel like they actually touch on those like you cannot TELL me that tony stark didn’t have a single panic attack in infinity war or endgame like that was literally the source of his anxiety and greatest fears and it just ugh it makes me so mad and i could go on so many rants but alkakajsjsjsjd anyway yes i agree thank you for indulging me
also that makes perfect sense re: books, and i feel like sometimes you just need words on page, like i’ll read the WORST books in terms of plot and whatnot but as long as it’s not bad in a moral way i’ll read it because sometimes reading is truly a hobby and i think people put too much stock in analyzing all text to death
mcu spiderman would have worked really well for a christmas special though nothing will top andrew garfield spider-man with snow in his hair in the amazing spider-man 2 😔 i think a barbie (shock) holiday special with shorts featuring princess and the pauper, magic of pegasus, nutcracker (for christie) , ect it would be cute to just have them all not have full out sequels but a cute cozy wintery short. i also would like a proper little mermaid short WITHOUT king triton, and it’s like eric and ariel telling younger melody stories about holidays they celebrate and traditions in like the format those dreamworks spooky stories.
and since of course this is a disney channel server i will say that (not that i’ve thought about it) BUT i firmly believe jessica olson and christopher wilde in the future tm would break up around the holidays and it would be this whole thing and if i had bigger brain power that’d be a short prequel to my fic and then i can really be obnoxious about tis the damn season literally being about them but also a recreation of the second beauty and the beast movie with ben and mal 🥰

horror trope talk! best locations for spoopy stuff to happen?
Horror tropes!!! The location of the horror setting is so important!! It sets the tone!
My personal favorite horror locations (as you may have noticed in horror fics I've written) are 1. the woods and 2. big houses, often in the middle of nowhere. These aren't very original, but I've always found the woods as a place that can act as either a very serene, peaceful location or the worst setting alive (in the same scene, even!) depending on the dialogue that is happening or one (1) little comment drop. So I like that a lot! (see: The Witch (2015), Blair Witch (1999), The Ritual (2017) etc.) And big houses in the middle of nowhere! Tons of places to hide inside or find hidden things (See: Ready or Not (2019), Haunting of Hill House (2018), Haunting of Bly Manor (2020), Resident Evil 7 (2017), Amnesia the Dark Descent (2010) 👀 But if you try to leave, you really have nowhere to go with nothing around (or at least neighbors very far away). So I'm personally partial to those settings, even if they're not overly original! They're classic for a reason!
But also, as a general list of good horror locations besides these:
theme parks (Jurassic Park's scary moments are good. Also, imagine running from a killer in an empty Disney World or something? Very dynamic. Lots of items to make use of + the dissonance of being in a place where there Should Be many people but Isn't)
cruise ships late at night (Big, lots of places to go or checkovs guns to use, the ocean is very scary at night, you can't leave, there is a morgue on board, etc)
space (I am not personally partial to science fiction but like. Space is scary as hell for a reason. The emptiness. The darkness. The unknown.)
traditional theaters (In high school, I worked in my local community theater for several Halloween seasons building and then performing in a haunted house setting. And while wandering around the top and bottom floors of an old as shit theater in the dark with all those building materials laying around can be spooky, an empty theater can feel so isolating and alone even with 1 or 2 other people there, so long as they're on the other side of the stage or on another floor. The stage is build for sound projection but you're not getting across the building very fast and there's little to no lighting in certain parts. Plus, those catwalks are dangerous!)
big empty commercial stores (like theme parks, it's the spooky feeling of being a place where there should be Many People and where there is Only You. Plus, not being able to leave the building/playing cat & mouse in the aisles)
big libraries (locked in like commercial stores, only less lighting & even less visibility)
c a v e s (Too Scary 4 Me)
Many of these locations are expanded upon in this list!

‘The Owl House’: It’s a Hoot!
You would never think that the dark art of 15th century Dutch artist Hieronymus Bosch would serve as the inspiration for a children’s cartoon. Well, thanks to Dana Terrace and her wild imagination, the strange creatures conjured by the European painter have found their way in the new Disney Channel series The Owl House. The show, which debuts in January, and is already in production of its second season, follows the adventures of a young teenage girl named Luz who decides to pursue her dreams of becoming a witch after she stumbles into a strange realm, inhabited by feisty witch Eda and her tiny warrior friend King.
Terrace, a former director on DuckTales and storyboard artist on Gravity Falls, recalls starting to collect her notes and images and putting together her pitch for the story back in 2015. Then, she finally began pitching her story about a young girl who becomes a witch’s apprentice only a few months after she started directing DuckTales.
“Many of the characters have barely changed since then,” recalls Terrace. “I knew I wanted an older witch mentor figure and a young optimistic girl who was the main character, who learns and grows throughout the show. There’s also this trickster little jerk character named King (voiced by Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch).”
The setting for The Owl House changed a little bit since its early days. Terrace says for a brief time, she was toying with the idea of the whole show being set after the young character dies, so that the Owl House is all set in the afterlife. What really had a clear impact on her work is the work of artists such as Bosch, John Bauer, Remedios Varos and the puppetry of Jim Henson.

In addition to the crazy creatures of Bosch and religious illuminated manuscripts, Terrace found inspiration in some of the familiar elements in her life as well. “I have always wanted to tell a story about a rough-around-the-edges mother figure, based off of my aunt, nana and mother who raised me,” she recalls.
Terrace says the show’s central character Luz evolved from late-night conversations she used to have with her former roommate roommate and close college friend. “We were both dorks together,” she recalls. “We tried to cut our own hair and it never worked out. We didn’t have many friends. So, in a way, Luz bubbled out of our conversations. When I told her that I was going to base the main character on her, she said, ‘Yes , but you’ll have to make her Dominican.’ So that’s what happened. Luz now also works on the show as a storyboard artist and consultant, and I get to work with my best friend every day.”
As a young girl, Terrace used sneak into the living room to watch cartoons and copy what she liked in her flip books. Her love for shows such as The Simpsons, Pokémon, The PowerPuff Girls and Studio Ghibli movies finally lead her to study animation at School of Visual Arts in New York and make her way out to L.A. to pursue a career in the animation business. Her first big break happened when someone discovered her art blog and sent her a storyboarding test, which led to her landing a job at Gravity Falls and opened other doors as well.
During her big pitch to Disney, Terrace says she was a bit worried to mention Bosch and his odd, evil creatures, but to her surprise, one of the executive’s response was, “Heck, yeah!” “They have been nothing more than enthusiastic and helpful from day one,” she notes.
After spending a good year writing and making the pilot, Terrace began building her production team in 2018. Art director Ricky Cometa and supervising producer Stephen Sandoval also joined the Disney TV Animation production. At capacity, the show has about 50 staffers as part of its pre-production crew, and an overall count of 120 including the overseas teams at Sunwoo, Rough Draft and Sugarcube in Korea. We’ve been very fortunate to work with all of them,” says Terrace. “They’ve made the show really, really spark.”
The Owl House has attracted a top-notch list of vocal talent as well, including Wendie Malick as Eda, Hirsch as King and Sarah-Nicole Robles as Luz. Among the guest star lineup for the show’s first season are Matthew Rhys, Isabella Rossellini, Tati Gabrielle, Issac Ryan Brown, Mae Whitman, Bumper Robinson and Parvesh Cheena. Terrace points out that having a sterling class led by Malick has been a real treat. “Our witch could have been a very hard character to cast, because we wanted to have sass and energy, and Wendie was absolutely perfect. She came in with all her talent and experience, and my first instinct was ‘You don’t need any direction. Do whatever you want to do because you are amazing!”
She also mentions that she knew Alex Hirsch was going to end up playing the little sidekick King. “I used to hear him pitch when I worked on Gravity Falls. I knew that he can bring a lot to the characters he plays. He would also give me some helpful advice about running his own show and working at Disney.”
Art director Ricky Cometa (Steven Universe, Costume Quest) says he was swept away by Terrace’s wild ideas and spectacular imagery, things that were not usually seen in children’s animation. “The second she came in and said, ‘I want you to read this show bible. The first thing that caught my eye was ‘Bosch and the demon world?’ I very much needed help to figure out what this world looks like. We had this blank canvas and there was a lot of religious iconography. I knew we were going to push the boundaries. I mean we are doing the demon realm on the Disney Channel? You bet I’m in!”
Cometa points out that it was clear that they needed to balance the darker aspects of the witch’s world with the more light-hearted and fun components of Luz’s comical adventures. “At first, I wasn’t sure how dark we could have made the world this world that Luz jumps into initially. We had to make clear decisions about when the story needed to be scary— when do we highlight the darker moments versus when the story is lighthearted and welcoming. It was all about finding that right balance of warmth and spookiness.”
Terrace agrees. “If we made everything super scary and spooky — which is something I’m not afraid of, scaring my audience — but if we made everything the same color, then the scary parts and the day-to-day light-hearted parts wouldn’t have popped. We needed that contrast for writing purposes.”
Amazingly enough, Terrace is only the fourth woman to solely create and run an animated series for Disney — following in the footsteps of Sue Rose (Pepper Ann), Chris Nee (Doc McStuffins) and Daron Nefcy (Star vs. The Forces of Evil). She says one of her biggest challenges on the show was going through the learning process to run a writer’s room, which includes four other writers and a writer’s assistant. “Before this show I had always written and drawn my own comics and cartoons, but this was the first time I had written scripts professionally. Learning the process of writing scripts and learning to run a writers’ room was probably the biggest challenge for me. Luckily, I was with a team of talented writers, and we all kind of learned together. Most of that team has carried on to the second season, and we’re very excited to keep writing together.
As the show begins its run on Disney Channel, Terrace says that ultimately she hopes audiences will be entertained by Luz’s world and her off-the-wall adventures. “There are so many different kinds of animated shows out there and so many traditional and streaming services, that I don’t think it’s possible to have a gigantic blowout hit anymore. At the end of the day, no matter how much stuff is out there, stories with interesting core characters and relatable, understandable stories will shine through.”

Susz's Halloween Recommendations Part 1: Movies, specials and TV shows.
Movies/specials
Girl Vs. Monster (2012)
Skylar, a teenage girl who discovers on Halloween she's a fifth generation monster hunter. When Skylar accidentally releases some monsters from a containment chamber she must recapture them before they wreak vengeance on her parents.
Notes: I've been watching this since it came out and it's always been a favorite of mine! Has a great message about facing your fears and not letting them control you with the backdrop of monster hunting!
Halloweentown (1998)
When a young girl living with her good-witch grandmother learns she too is a witch, she must help her grandmother save Halloweentown from evil forces.
Notes: I watched this for the first time last year, and I was pleasantly surprised even as an 18 year old!
Hocus Pocus (1993)
A curious youngster moves to Salem, where he struggles to fit in before awakening a trio of diabolical witches that were executed in the 17th century.
Notes: another movie I watched last year, and so surprisingly dark for Disney, especially in the 90s.
The Haunted Mansion (2003)
A realtor and his wife and children are summoned to a mansion, which they soon discover is haunted, and while they attempt to escape, he learns an important lesson about the family he has neglected.
Notes: Eddie Murphy trying to keep his family safe in this haunted house? It's one of my favorites!
Scooby Doo (2002)
The Mystery Inc. gang have gone their separate ways and have been apart for two years, until they each receive an invitation to Spooky Island. Not knowing that the others have also been invited, they show up and discover an amusement park that affects young visitors in very strange ways. Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby soon realize that they cannot solve this mystery without help from each other.
Notes: this is a childhood movie of mine, and the sequel is so good as well. Definitely a good mix of spooky and fun!
Scooby Doo: The Mystery Begins (2009)
A made for TV movie about the origins of the Mystery Incorporated gang.
Notes: a high school/Disney Channel style movie with horror elements starring Robbie Ammel and Hayley Kiyoko. This one is one I've been watching since it came out and it's one of my favorites.
Coraline (2009)
An adventurous 11-year-old girl finds another world that is a strangely idealized version of her frustrating home, but it has sinister secrets.
Notes: watched this one last year and I absolutely adore it! It's so terrifying and I highly recommend.
The Boy (2016)
An American nanny is shocked that her new English family's boy is actually a life-sized doll. After she violates a list of strict rules, disturbing events make her believe that the doll is really alive.
Notes: the movie is suspenseful the whole time, and the last 15 minutes are absolutely horrifying.
Flashback (2020)
After a chance encounter with a man forgotten from his youth, Fred literally and metaphorically journeys into his past.
Notes: I watched this psychological thriller a few months ago and it has it's scary elements, but it's really interesting to see the main character descend into madness and obsession due to something in his personal life.
Edge of Winter (2016)
When two brothers are stranded by a brutal winter storm with an unpredictable father they barely know, the boys begin to suspect their supposed protector may be their biggest threat.
Notes: pretty sure this movie was filmed around the same time Captain America: Civil War, so it's very young Tom Holland, but this is a movie he is so good in. Definitely makes you wonder just how far parents are willing to go.
Hubie Halloween (2020)
Despite his devotion to his hometown of Salem (and its Halloween celebration), Hubie Dubois is a figure of mockery for kids and adults alike. But this year, something is going bump in the night, and it's up to Hubie to save Halloween.
Notes: Don't take this one seriously and you're more likely to enjoy it. Definitely more of a comedy than anything scary. Adam Sandler is very polarizing but I enjoyed this.
Hotel Transylvania (2012)
Dracula, who operates a high-end resort away from the human world, goes into overprotective mode when a boy discovers the resort and falls for the count's teenaged daughter.
Notes: a family Halloween movie that really is just a fun time.
Ninjago: Day of the Departed (2016)
On the Ninjago holiday: Day of the Departed, the ninja remeber those who have departed.
Notes: Takes place in between season 6 and 7 and really explores grief as well as the concept of being forgotten. Obviously you have to watch the seasons before to understand this, but it's really interesting to watch for sure.
My Friend Dahmer (2017)
Jeffrey Dahmer murdered 17 men and boys in the Midwest United States between 1978 and 1991 before being captured and incarcerated. He would become one of America's most infamous serial killers. This is the story before that story.
Notes: a fascinating look into an infamous serial killer, both parts fiction and non fiction and suspenseful the whole time.
TV shows
Teen Wolf (2011-2017)
Scott becomes the eponymous teenage werewolf of the series after he is bitten by an alpha werewolf the night before his second year of high school, drastically changing his once-ordinary life.
Notes: one of my absolute favorite TV shows, and perfect for the Halloween season! Especially since the movie is coming out next year!
Only Murders in the Building (2021-)
Only Murders in the Building follows three strangers, played by Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez, who share an obsession with a true crime podcast. After a murder in their building, the three neighbors decide to start their own show that covers their investigation of the murder.
Notes: Already fantastic and season 1 is still coming out on Hulu! The blend of comedy and horror is always one of my favorites!
Cruel Summer (2021-)
The series follows two teenage girls in the 1990s and the repercussions on everyone's lives after one disappears and the other seemingly takes her place.
Notes: this has huge triggers for domestic violence, grooming and sexual assault. If you're not triggered by that, I HIGHLY recommend this, and I'm so excited for season 2! It also has some great LGBT+ rep!
Nancy Drew (2019-)
Nancy Drew (Kennedy McMann) is a brilliant teenaged detective whose sense of self had come from solving mysteries in her hometown of Horseshoe Bay, Maine – until her mother’s untimely death derails Nancy’s college plans.
Notes: I've been watching this since it came out and season 3 is about to start airing! The first season is so wonderful and full of twists and turns (season 2 isn't as good, but it's the CW) and I highly recommend!
Ninjago Season 5, Possession (2015)
The spirit of the evil Morro is released from the cursed realm and the Ninjas have to unite in the battle against an evil foe.
Notes: one of my favorite seasons of the show, and definitely one of the darkest ones! Deals with grief, depression and high expectations and it's so good!
Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated (2010-2013)
Scooby-Doo and the gang attempt to solve creepy mysteries in the town of Crystal Cove, a place with a history of eerie supernatural events.
Notes: this starts off similar to the original Scooby Doo show from the early 70's, but as the overarching plot gets deeper and deeper, you really spend your time just wondering "what the heck is going on".
I'm not going to put specific episodes of TV shows on here, because that'll get daunting, but part 2 is books and fics!

OCTOBER 5th: Brenten
“It’s Spooky Season Bitches!” Jasmin yelled at us walking into the school building toward us.
“Too early,” Harry muttered, his head in his locker.
“What’s with him?” She asked me.
“I couldn’t sleep. I was worried about something,” He told us.
“At this point, you have to change your code for Cat. We’ve broken it,” I told him.
“I don’t care if you’ve figured it out,” Harry muttered.
“Is that a hickey?” Jasmin asked him, looking at the purple-blue mark on his shoulder.
“No, I hung out with Cat and she was watching over one of Ellie’s play dates and Ellie now has a suction cup bow and arrow that leaves hickey looking marks,” He told me.
“That’s either the best or worst thing I’ve ever heard,” I laughed.
“Fuck you mate,” He said.
“How’s Cat handling everything? I feel so sorry for her, it’s just getting worse and worse the more time that goes by,” I asked.
“She’s doing alright, she’s trying to protect Dot and Ellie from it all,” He said.
“It’s taking up most of her time and energy. With Alice on tour, Bea on set and her mum working hard, she’s the only one between them and the media. Her cousins are busy too,” Jasmin said.
“It’s like a nightmare come to life. Do you guys even know what happened?” I asked.
“Her dad was a dick and he reportedly killed someone,” Jasmin said. “But she doesn’t like to talk about it.”
“Why was he released?” Harry asked, “All she told me was that he was released because of reasons.”
“The main witness to the murder charge was in a coma and the trail wasn’t fair for the victims. He was only put away for abuse, only a few years and good behaviour but the murder trial is restarting,” Jasmin told us.
“Fuck, Cat. She needs a lot of help,” Harry complained.
“And you’re going to have to help her. She needs you, she needs all of us but she needs you to stop being a dick at any point in time. Ever wonder why she hates you being a dick so much?” Jasmin said.
“Wait, Cat needs him?” I asked.
“Oh right you don’t know,” Jasmin said, getting a look from Harry, “Mark,” She simply said to me.
“Oh my god,” I said realizing the reason Harry started wearing make-up on his neck. “You and Cat?”
“Shut up man. I just want to live my life and we came to an agreement,” He said.
“That you’d broken before you came up with it,” Jasmin said.
“Don’t tell that to Cat, please. She doesn’t need that on her plate as well as everything else,” Harry begged.
“Too late,” Jasmin muttered.
“It’s going to be a long day,” I muttered as the pair glared at each other.
OCTOBER 12th: Jasmin
“Ready, Jas?” Mum asked me from my doorway.
“As I’ll ever be,” I said grabbing my suitcase.
“The first of many, I hope,” She said, “Your uncle will pick you up at the airport and if he’s not there call me and I will kill him.”
“Why do I have to go to the airport with Bea?” I asked her.
“Because I have to get to work and she’s on the same flight as you,” Mum told me.
“Alright. I’ll miss you,” I said giving her a hug.
“We’ll miss you too. I’ll make sure no one goes into your room while you’re away,” She said, “Love you, make sure your uncle’s nice to you and don’t get caught up in a scandal like Caitlyn and her sisters.”
“I’ll try but that wasn’t her fault,” I said, stepping through the front door.
“I know. Now go, go toward your future,” She smiled as a car pulled up. Perfect timing as always Watsons.
“Bye,” I waved going to the car.
“Bye,” She yelled back as I got in next to Bea.
“How’s it leaving your sisters when your all back together?” I asked her.
“Scary. I’m the only one not there and they’re going to make a statement on the whole thing next week and I’m going to be in LA,” She said.
“It sucks, everything about it sucks,” I told her.
“It does but we have to keep marching forward rule 23,” Bea smiled.
“How would have thought your grandmother’s rule book would come in handy?” I laughed.
“I know. All that time spent memorizing them, thinking they applied to a long-dead world and in fact, they help us with fame,” She smiled.
“She knows her stuff,” I said.
“That she does. How are you? With all the stuff going on at home I hadn’t thought to ask for a while,” She asked.
“I’m good. Not going the best but not nearly as bad as you guys. I just feel for Cat and you guys, none of this is your fault and yet they blame you for it all.”
“They need a villain and sadly for years, they’ve decided that Alice is one and that any side she’s on is the bad side, even if she is truly the victim. She’s accepted it, we all have. Sadly the media hates women and sure she’s not always the victim but she is this time,” She said.
“Well, as long as I live I’ll defend Cat and you guys,” I said.
“Thank you,” She said, “I’m sure she’d love to hear it.”
OCTOBER 19th: Harrison
“I’m here,” I said running through the Watsons’ backyard and into the house.
“Yay, my saviour,” Cat said sarcastically.
“Everyone ready?” Cat’s mum asked.
“Why do we have to do this mum?” Ellie asked.
“Because the people with Cameras are being mean about your older sisters and you,” I told her, getting a smile from Cat.
“Everyone?” Her mum asked again.
“Yup,” Four of the five sisters said.
“We’re here,” Arya said, referring to her sisters and parents, “With Grandmother.”
“Let’s do this,” Cat’s mum said.
Cat grabbed my hand and squeezed it whispering in my ear, “Thanks for coming and standing with us.”
“Brenten wanted to come but his parents wouldn’t let him,” I said as we walked out of their front door to the sea of press.
“Hello everyone,” Cat’s mum started as everyone stood behind her, Cat let go of my hand before anyone could notice that we’d been holding each other’s hands. “Thank you for coming today. I just want to start off by saying to every member of our family, by blood or not, that’s here with us. I also want to say that Florence wanted to be here but couldn’t due to work.
“I also want to say that the way you’ve all been covering this is shameful. You blaming my darling daughters for what they had to endure is just another show of the way the media victim blames women. My daughters had to put up with that monster for years, so for them to try to pretend that he doesn’t exist anymore is an entirely rational response to the trauma they went through.
“They shouldn’t have to explain themselves for protecting their images to the public. They didn’t want to be seen as victims, not because that is inherently bad but because they don’t see themselves as such.” She breathed trying not to raise her voice, another of the rules Cat talked about. “I know want to pass this over to my eldest daughter to talk about her experience.”
“Hello everyone,” Alice said, “I don’t want to comment on whether, or not my father hurt me but I have to not for me but for others. He did hurt me. He hurt all of us. Not just physically but mentally. Ever wonder why I can’t keep a boyfriend, now you know,” She joked getting a few laughs from her family and the media. “He is and has always been (Dot, Ellie cover your ears) an asshole. For as long as I can remember my mother has done her best to protect us and I’ve seen that some of you blame her and that’s wrong. She is a survivor and a badass single mother of five who looks out for her daughters and family, encourages them to follow their dreams and supports them. I’ve never met someone that I’m so glad to be related to. Liv,” She said handing it to Cat.
“Screw all of you for what you’ve said about us. We never said that he died like many of you have reported. And for any of you who claim that I’ve been fired from Disney, I’ve got news for you I haven’t and I’ll be around for a long time, so get used to this face. I can’t put it as well as my older sister, words are her job, not mine. But I can tell all of you the truth. I love my family and I’ll do anything to protect them, their the real world not you. I don’t give a damn about my reputation or what you write about me as long as I have them. So I’m sorry if I’m not your darling anymore but I don’t care,” She said keeping a smile on her face the entire time. When she turned around her grandmother gave her one in return, showing some sort of emotion and I’m not sure it was happiness.
“We will not answer questions or anything. Now please politely get off my property,” Cat’s mum smiled as she said it.
“You did good Cat,” I told her.
“I think I just shot myself in the foot,” She said back making me and Alice laugh.
“Better the foot than the head,” Her grandmother spoke coming to stand near us, “That was good Caitlyn but next time, less foul language.”
“Alright,” Cat said as we walked into the house to celebrate.
OCTOBER 31st: Caitlyn
“Ready to go trick or treating mini-me?” I asked Ellie, popping my head into her room.
“I’m ready!” She smiled, “Lola and Willa are coming too?”
“Yup and Kenna, she wants candy,” I laughed.
“Space Cowboys unite!” Lola yelled from the bottom of the stairs.
“Space cowboys!” Ellie yelled, running down the stairs. While her and Ella started talking about school I walked down the stairs toward Lola and Kenna.
“So Cat, how are you?” Lola signed.
“Better but I worry about Ellie and tonight,” I signed back, knowing that if we were going to talk to this we had to do it in sign language if we didn’t want Ellie and Willa to hear what we were talking about.
“Can we go?” Willa asked us.
“Sure,” Lola said to her little sister. “Let’s go!”
“CANDY!” Kenna signed rapidly.
“CANDY!” Lola and I yelled.
“CANDY!” Our younger sisters yelled.
“I’ll drive,” Lola said trying to grab my keys.
“My car, I’ll drive,” I said keeping my keys out of her reach easily.
“Trick or Treat!” The two six-year-olds shouted at one of the doors.
“How lovely, two cowboys,” An old lady said from the other side of the door. “And three older cowboys.” She smiled at us. “Are these your sisters?” She whispered to Willa and Ellie.
“Yes,” They whispered back.
“Well, would you all like a candy?” She asked.
“Yes!” The two of them said.
“Well here you go,” She said handing them each a chocolate bar and then handing us one each. “It’s nice to see your generation taking care of your younger siblings. It’s a good skill to have.”
“Thank you,” Lola and I said, while Kenna signed, “They’re not my sisters but thank you.”
“You sign?” The lady asked both aloud and in sign.
“Yes,” Kenna signed back.
“My husband’s deaf, since the war and he was a boy,” The lady explained again in both sign and spoken.
“It’s nice to know others are out there, I’m the only deaf person at school and only one teacher speaks sign language. So, Lola and Cat here have to translate the classes,” Kenna signed.
“I’m sorry about that,” The lady signed.
“It’s alright. I can hear some but I like going to normal school,” Kenna signed.
“I bet you do.” She signed to Kenna before turning to Ellie and Willa. “Take care kids, it’s a full blue moon on halloween. There could be creatures out there,” She told Ellie and Willa.
“What does she mean creatures?” Willa asked.
“She means that there are werewolves, vampires and witches are out under the full moon!” I told them spookily as we walked to the next house.
“Ahh!” They said, not at my voice but at the two boys approaching us.
“Happy halloween!” A jester/christmas tree clad Harrison said.
“Back off demon!” Willa yelled.
“Hello to you to Willa,” He responded with a laugh.
