the thing about these guys is that no matter how mundane you make it, they can make anything into a situation. that's just the guys they are. so we put them in a Walmart.

Marn is an employee with a great customer service voice. She's keeping it together in the face of some truly wild statements and requests. One man keeps asking for frootie hooties, a brand of cereal that he insists is real and everyone is just refusing to sell to him, and she's spent twenty minutes trying to tell him that they just don't have it in stock

Lye and Es are having an animated conversation in the clothing area, where she is examining various colorful dresses and he is distractedly picking things off of nearby shelves and putting them back down. The conversation started at how they got kicked out of dayward yve's novelty store and is now about whether stealing should be more or less of a crime than manslaughter, because it's not as bad as killing but it is on purpose. People are trying not to pay attention to them. Eventually they are asked to leave, at which point it is revealed that lye has about two hundred dollars worth of items in his pockets and es has some candles she liked and a new pair of shoes in hers. They are both barred from Walmart.

Duvall hates it here. It's loud, he hates the lights, the aisles make no sense, he can't find anything he's looking for, and people keep coming up to him to ask him where things are. He doesn't even work here. Why do people assume he works here? He's not even wearing any Walmart merchandise. Is that what it's called when you're an employee? Merchandise? Well, it's what it would be called if he wears it, which he never will, because he doesn't work here and never wants to. Have a nice day ma'am.

Pickman is slowly marching her way through the aisles one at a time, peering at her shopping list and holding a tiny shopping basket in one hand. She has to be very careful not to knock the shelves over sometimes. Just trying to get groceries. People are nervously avoiding her. Says "Hey, you" to some poor employee to ask where the milk and cigarettes are. Just grunts at everything else. When she's at the checkout, the guy there asks "Did you find everything you're looking for?", and she just says "No." and leaves

Chine comes out of the bathroom with a live rat in his hand. People scream. The manager finally comes up to him like "Sir, you can't have rats in here." They say "Oh, she's not mine. She was just having trouble opening the door." Gets a big meat on the bone at the deli and nothing else. When he asks how much it costs, they just say it's on the house and try to get him to leave as soon as possible. They go like "Oh, really? Are you sure? I have some money." and sound surprised but pleased, like they're being done a personal favor. The employees insist. He's like "Alright, thanks!" and then asks the rat if she wants anything

#the manager tells an employee to get the rat some cheese. chine says that cheese is actually bad for rats and some seeds would be better #the manager tells the employee to get the rat some seeds and for chine to get the fuck out of their establishment #chine is a little taken aback by the rudeness but leaves without further issue #runs into lye and es outside and is like “hey look they just gave me some free stuff” #Lyke is like “what???? I got kicked out because I wanted free stuff!” #chine says “I think I just got kicked out too. Maybe that's just what happens?" #lyke says “yeah but you got to keep the stuff!” #“Did you not get to keep your stuff?” #“I mean. quinlan vos in the playmaker au who went undercover early on in his career before obi-wan ever even graduated the academy -- he's been put under ventress' mob and has worked his way up pretty far when he gets the shock of his life seeing jinn's kid obi sitting pretty right next to mob boss vader's chair when vader stops by ventress' town for a chat

he can't believe jinn would send his own kid undercover, especially not when the kid is obi-wan, who isn't built for this kind of work, anyone could see that -- and what the hell is he doing, so close to vader? that's dangerous, vader is unpredictable! yeah obi-wan is only five years younger than quin, but he watched the kid grow up you know? helped him with his homework when he was sitting around the station waiting for his father to finish up and take him home, kept him entertained.....

what happens of course is that during a break in the meeting, vos gets obi-wan alone to interrogate him about what he thinks he's doing, and obi-wan tells him he has it under control (he doesn't), no one suspects a thing (they do), and he's the one leading vader around by his nose (literally just a lie, obi-wan spent most of the previous night tied up in vader's bed)

vos probaby accidentally says something that implies obi-wan can't do this or jinn was out of his mind giving him to vader (out of concern for obi-wan), and it steps on all of obi-wan's self-worth issues, leading him to be very angry and loud and for them to be discovered

two rats in a dark corner together is suspicious, they both know that, so quinlan pushes obi-wan up against a wall to make it look like they're in the middle of something much dirtier

it's only when he registers the look of terrified horror on obi-wan's face that he realizes he's done something awful.

when the meeting comes together again, vader's man that found them goes to vader and whispers something in his ear. his eyes snap to quin's down the table, and he only looks away when obi-wan slides from his chair into vader's lap.

two days later, vos is made as a rat in ventress' mob. ventress reluctantly outsources the kill to vader for a favor later. astonishingly, all of vader's pre-kill interrogations have nothing to do with ventress, her mob workings, or even the police department. he wants to know about captain jinn and obi-wan kenobi.

(vos dies silent.)

I think it’s hilarious just how many abilities/apps Chase has in his roster, mostly ‘cause there’s a lot of them that just leave me wondering why you’d give that to him?

Going through the wiki, it's like almost anything that was needed for plot got thrown onto Chase. And there are a few of them that I think would’ve been better suited for Adam or Bree, considering the skill sets

Imagine if Adam had magnetism instead, and it overlapped with his blastwave ability as an EMP, making the umbrella ability electro-magnetism

Bree’s abilities are about stealth and scouting, so give her the fingerprint and facial recognition to compliment her vocal manipulation

And for things you don’t have to take from Chase, but just give all 3 of them: the senses to a minor degree. Give Bree the hearing for eavesdropping, give Adam the sight for accuracy, while Chase has both at max

‘Cause the thing is, doing this doesn’t devalue Chase at all. His intelligence, and everything that comes with that, makes him immensely valuable to the team

They were designed as a unit of weapons, so I can’t help but think of their abilities divided as such

Adam’s not the muscle, he’s the combatant. Defense and offense are his specialty, and his passives give him the ability to incapacitate at close and long range

Bree isn’t the hustle, she’s the recon. She can get in and out of secure locations undetected with the utmost efficiency and safely bring the intel home

Chase is more than the brains, he’s the support. He can process the gathered information and strategize accordingly. His ability to link with and override his siblings’ bionics can be a game changer in dire situations and makes him versatile
