Something I find really interesting about BNHA/MHA is how Hirokoshi takes common ideas/tropes and changes them drastically with a single unique detail.

For example: Superheroes. Super common. But what if they were ranked? What if their income and perceived value was based on this ranking? This system gives rise to people like Enji and Katsuki, who have to be the quantifiable best. In a sense, I think it gives these otherwise uninspired people a purpose. For early Katsuki and Enji, it wasn't about the saving. It was about the score. The win. Beyond the egoists, that ranking system has quite a few other repercussions. All Might and how Japan became dependent on him is another deep topic.

The ranking system pops up in quite a bit of the MHA fic I've read; it seems as though many fans buy into the idea of the ranking system being meaningful and adding intrinsic worth. There's a kind of tip-toeing around the fact that Izuku is obviously stronger than Katsuki at this point. But because Katsuki wants it more than anything...

Another twist on a common superhero trope: The whole concept of heroes living as accessible celebrities, and not necessarily deigning to be that, but pursuing that because it helps their rankings... it's very interesting and very clever.

BNHA Chapter 403: Review by Birdbros

First let me just say that baby Toshinori is so cute I can't breathe. Now, to the actual review. I love that his childhood was good and beautiful. That he didn't grow up in tragedy and had a loving mother and potentially the reason why he's so invested in being a hero. Because she didn't discourage him and instead fostered his dream so he could be proud of who'd he become one day. Also may I just say that this entire All Might arc has been giving. It has given so much and I've loved every second off it because honestly some people needed to be reminded why this man was the number 1 hero. Still though, just the thought of his mother dying and All Might having to take on the world and fix it without here breaks me in a way I can't fully explain.

Yeah no, nop, no. I won't let you do this. He's not gonna die. Not All Might. Not after everything. I refuse to accept it. He has so many other steps to take Okay! Stop it. What do you mean and end of an era?! AFO you absolute fucking clown, do not hurt him! I mean it!!!!!!!

Damn..... he really cut off Toshinori's backstory just like that. Wtf man. We rarely get this man reflecting about himself and you had to go and do that!!!! The fuck is wrong with you!!!!! I take that back. I'm hanging this up. Me and Best Jeanist sobbing over this right now. Our baby is alive!!!!!!! But look at him, he's so tired and haggered and back from the dead. He deserves a nap, not to fight a psycho who can't just quietly go into ground and never come back. Also theory: now that Bakugou has essentially come back from the dead, might his quirk have evolved to the extreme edge like we've seen for many before him such as Touya and Uraraka? And since Katsuki literally died maybe his evolved even more? My biggest hope. Beat his ass Katsuki. Make him regret that he was ever born.

Not a bakudeku shipper but I'm 100% a bakudeku friendship apologist so this, seeing Midoriya look up, tears flooding from his eyes because he's so fucking terrified he'll lose his mentor just like he lost his childhood friend only to then look up and see Bakugou is doing something to me I cannot explain. And Katsuki.... Katsuki with the ancient All Might card he's still holding onto for dear life. Katsuki remembering their baby selves. Katsuki being so out of it but standing up to fight for All Might like All Might stood up to fight for him at Kamino..... *sobs hysterically in a corner* Also the symbolism of All Might always having looked back at his past because all the steps felt so important just to now look forward because the steps his kids are gonna take are the important thing for him now..... yeah I'm not okay.

This is truly the beginning of a new era huh. Bakugou and Midoriya, carrying on All Might's dreams and hopes..... Hirokoshi you bastard. How can you do this to me. WTF MAN WTF!!!!!! And look at Katsuki's eyes. The explosion within them. It's so beautiful. I love it so much. And now him and Izuku's feelings are one; they'll save All Might and redefine hero society.

*stands up and applauds like crazy* There has been several misses for me in this manga but moments like this is why I'm happy I never gave up on it.

So you create art using AI and call it your own?

No I draw out my own work and use a tool for shading and coloring. It boggles the mind how this is such a hard concept. That using technology is NOT inherently evil.

I also am basing it off others people's work so it could never be mine in the first place. I draw Dabi or Shigaraki because I like to. I'm not asking for compensation. I'm sharing it, but they are not my characters. Unlike others on here. So yeah, I put my name on what I spent hours on, like EVERYONE ELSE HERE, but there's no surprise it's not original in any sense of the word. It's 100% art plagiarism and if Hirokoshi said take it down, I think a huge portion of the community that do profit off of his work would have a problem on there hands.

Not to mention the people who do nothing but color and shade his original work and put their name on it...I'm pretty sure most people here understand that they only colored it. But what if they are new? Are you going to go around and be the art police?

I have bad news for you ...people are going to look at art and duplicate it because we taught it that way. It's exactly how humans learned and do it.

An AI is going to look at what I wrote and use it somewhere in a story or a paper for someone else. As someone who helps program these things I'm not scared or worried. AI won't replace you or me anytime soon. Words are not exclusively mine. Just like how shading and color are not exclusively to one artist.

There's a difference from using a tool to enhance something and using it to entirely create something. Just because there's bad faith actors out there doesn't mean it's something that should be banned when it can improve our lifestyle. I use grammerly too, it's an AI editor. I have to, because the person who helped me, killed herself.

Are you going to say that any story edited by an AI is stolen work? Are you going to demand anyone using a spell check should go to school and do it themselves? Or Maybe...just maybe it's being used like how it's meant to be used. The problem is everyone thinks they are special and they are not. I know I'm not the only person out there that paired Shigaraki with a big girl. I'm not the only one who writes about Mothmen. What I do with the unoriginal concept and someone else's character is the only thing I can claim is mine and I do. Everyone that writes or draws fan stuff does.

I would understand your position if you actually cared about plagiarism or if I said I created an original character, but that's not what you're doing. I know it's not because you more likely found me by looking for fanfiction which means you enjoy seeing seeing fan art and fanfiction.
