Kenshi tries to not let it get to him, but he is saddened by the fact he cannot read properly anymore. Johnny tries to support him by buying him every audiobook in every language he understands. Kenshi will sometimes ask Johnny to read to him mostly because he loves the sound of his voice.
At first, Kenshi tried to get Sento to help him with daily tasks (cooking, cleaning, etc.), but after talking to Kuai Liang he tries not to rely on Sento on anything non-kombat related.

Kenshi will only drink milky coffee (lattes, cappuccinos, etc.) and prefers tea. Johnny hates coffee and tea and pounds red bull in the morning.
Kenshi used to care a lot about his personal style and mostly only wore suits and dress attire. After losing his eyesight, he didn't care as much anymore and just focused on wearing things that were comfortable (sweatpants, sweaters)
Johnny buys Kenshi soft fluffy things to wear all the time. Kenshi always says it's unnecessary but ends up wearing it anyway.
In MK1 Johnny is 32, and Kenshi is 39 (I like the idea of Kenshi being old it just makes sense to me). It both amuses and horrifies Kenshi that he's dating a white man 7 yrs his junior.

But the other thing we get is a situation where Aziraphale is in trouble. And even though he's in trouble, he knows he can count on Crowley.

And so it got me thinking, there is such an emphasis on sleight of hand throughout the series, and the idea of the audience being distracted while there are background details going unnoticed has been discussed a lot in the many wonderful theory and meta posts.
However, the other aspect of magic is Aziraphale's love of it. And so, if we're going to consider that the kiss was actually a way for Crowley to pass something to Aziraphale, it seems important to at least consider that Aziraphale knows magicians and that he studies magicians. And to therefore consider Harry Houdini, arguably the greatest (or at least the most famous) magician.
It's believed that during his Metamorphosis trick (I think it's called a trick? I'm not a magician but I do love magic so if anyone is a magician and that's wrong, I'm sorry), Houdini worked with his wife in order to successfully perform the routine:

I want to be really clear here that sources that confirm this are limited and not overly credible, however Kate Bush's song, "Houdini", was also allegedly inspired by this particular version of the story:

What's most interesting about this version is that Houdini's wife, Bess, comes onstage to kiss him at a moment of struggle or, given the nature of the tricks Houdini was renowned for, danger.
Whether the tale of Houdini's wife passing him the key with a kiss is true or not, it certainly seems like the kind of story that would capture the imagination of Aziraphale (and Neil) and no doubt even Crowley would've known Houdini and his antics.
And so, this is really to say that if there was the passing of an object with the kiss, at that vital moment when Aziraphale is "struggling onstage", could it be that Crowley* draws on one of the things he knows his Angel knows and loves and understands, and does something inspired by arguably the most famous magician of all?
I mean after all, Aziraphale knows he can always count on him.

My 2023 art summary. I've finished some works this month, but I tend to not put commissions on these sheets LOL.
I wrote a bit of a longer retrospective under the read more. Thank you for sticking with me this year and I hope to see you on the next one!
This year overall was really rough on me and I think it reflected on the art I made. While I think everything looks nice and that I did improve, it still all feels very uninteresting, stiff, boring. I love my character design, but I think my art heavily relies on the character design to actually look visually interesting. If the character design falters or if I'm not creating one in the first place, my art doesn't have anything captivating about it.
It's frustrating! I see and follow artists who draw gorgeous compositions, backgrounds, cool poses and collages. Their graphics catch your eye, and there is a message to their art, even if it's just "look at this beautiful sky with me". I cannot say the same for my art, it's all just eye candy with no substance to it.
I try to not be so emo bout myself in public like this, and at the end of the day all you can do is pick up what you improved (and i did improve!), and take it with you on your future lessons, but its annoying to feel like you haven't meaningfully improved in the things you want to be good at!
Sorry about the soap opera LOL. It's good to write down your feelings and shake it off I think. There's so much ahead of me, it's not like this is the end LOL. I'll see if next year I learn more about backgrounds and create pieces I really feel proud of :)

Could I hear more of your thoughts on Doc Savage and the archetype he created? How does it relate to modern superheroes more specifically Reed Richards? (I know that you dislike Doc Savage, so sorry if this bothers you.)
Sorta like this, if we take a look at how Doc's archetype was formed and consolidated, and how that affected the Superheroes and Reed Richards specifically. (also please don't apologize, you all can ask me questions about whatever, seriously)

"Doc Savage" is recognizable in lots of other characters but there is a difference between specific pastiches or tributes or parodies of Doc (Doc Samson, Edison Rex, Jonas Venture), and characters who are evoking Doc Savage as his own archetype to draw initial inspiration from (Tom Strong, Bane, Clark Kent), and if we pull at Doc's roots we're gonna get to prior characters like Tarzan and Sherlock who were the ones to introduce or codify much of what are now commonplace superhero traits or the ones to introduce much of what Doc was originally pulling from.
I wanna draw some lines in the sand separating what is it that these characters brought to the table, in the road to get to Reed Richards and what exactly is it that Reed and Doc have in common vs things they have that are mainly taken from characters before them/grandfathered in their respective mediums. So let's go over the Archetypes here:
The Sci-Fi Superman: Coined by Peter Coogan. Through some strange birth or scientific intervention, these characters have superhuman powers and abilities that set them irrevocably apart from humanity, nearly forcing them to usually fall into the roles of saviors, rulers, destroyers, or ostracized/self-imposed hermits. Unless they find a purpose requiring said abilites, they cannot be permitted to exist and usually meet a tragic demise or is stripped of said power. Formative example is The Creature from Frankenstein (Mary Shelley), and others include Hugo Danner from Gladiator (Phillip Wylie) and Bill Dunn from The Reign of The Superman (Jerry Siegel). Coogan considers John Carter the first wholly positive and heroic SF superman, which is disputable, but more on Carter later.
Pulp Ubermensch: The Great Man turned do-gooding adventurer with a prosocial agenda. A human who is physically, mentally, and/or morally superior to those around him as a result of training/upbringing, skilled at everything the story requires him to, who applies his talents and abilities near-exclusively to fight evil. Formative example is Nick Carter (created by John R. Coryell and penned by Frederick Van Rensselaer Dey), who established much of what would eventually become pulp hero and superhero convention consequently.
The Great Adventurer: I'm naming these as a counterpoint to The Great Detective, the fantastical globetrotting adventurer/explorer hero who can go anywhere and do anything, who takes to the world as the detective takes to the city. The idea of a wealthy, offbeat, yet good-natured pulp hero who goes around righting wrongs with like-minded assistants. Formative example here is Rocambole (Ponson du Terrail), in most ways a definitive early Pulp Ubermensch, and arguably the first proto-superhero to assemble a gang of odd companions with a variety of talents and backgrounds to aid him, which is what both the Fabulous Five and the Fantastic Four can trace roots back to.
Pulp Supermen: Offshoots of the Sci-Fi Superman as adventure protagonists in serialized stories, where their superhuman natures and status are alleviated and redirected by the need of their capabilities somewhere or in service of something, and thus they get around the ruler/savior/destroyer fate by being heroes with a social calling akin to the Pulp Ubermensch, dedicated to use their powers near-exclusively to fight injustice without rocking the boat of society by their presence (or if necessary, assert dominion ONLY in a setting outside of human society, such as the jungle or Martian civilization). Distinguished from the Pulp Ubermensch by their greater larger-than-life explicitly superhuman abilities, that they don't need to be morally/mentally superior to the extent of a Pulp Ubermensch, and by the fantastical settings and tone of their adventures. Formative examples are John Carter of Mars and Tarzan of the Apes (both created by Edgar Rice Burroughs), with Tarzan quoted by Lester Dent as a specific influence on Doc (there are others but we're skipping most of those not relevant here)
The Science Adventurer: A frequently-used name to describe Doc Savage and Doc Savage-alikes. Doc Savage can be described, in archetype word salad terms, as a Pulp Superman who calls upon the Pulp Ubermensch's great man-ness and urban social calling, and who combines a Sci-Fi Superman origin and physical traits with The Great Adventurer's explorer disposition, righteousness and band of companions. The main thing that sets him apart from the characters listed prior is his focus on scientific prowess, technology, reasoning and polymathic skills, the importance of the "Doc" part of his name as it where.
The Superhero: you already know what these are and how they relate to the above. I've written a couple of things about the differences between pulp heroes and superheroes and it's a subject I'm of constantly mixed opinions on even regarding stuff I wrote, so I'm linking these two written a year apart if you want an idea of where those differences are.

And so we get to Reed, who I'm naming a Science-Adventurer Superhero as a merger of the last two. Both Stan Lee and Jack Kirby mentioned several times that they read Doc Savage aplenty during the Depression and it shows in elements such as the Baxter Building (an expansion of Doc's headquarters in the Empire State Building - instead of just the 86th floor, The Four get the entire skyscraper), the specialized aircraft and vehicles, the fights and antagonism between the cantankerous and anti-social Ben Grimm and the smart-mouthed Johnny Storm mirroring the bickering spats between the bestial Monk and the silver-tongued Ham, and of course Beast from X-Men being more closeled modeled on Monk's ape-ish traits and scientific expertise (there's a fairly large argument to be made, that I think accounts for some of why Beast is, like that, in recent comics, that Ben Grimm and Hank McCoy both divided Monk Mayfair's every trait between themselves and ultimately flipped the script in the long run before taking it to the farthest extremes possible as polarized opposites of each other, with Ben initially getting most of the bad parts and making them the best ones, and Hank initially getting all the good ones and making them into the worst ones)
As far as I know, Reed Richards was not consciously modeled after Doc Savage (although Jack Kirby and Joe Simon's Private Strong used the origin story of a professor raising his son in a lab to be perfect in total isolation of other humans, which Lester likely may have pulled from Phillip Wylie's The Savage Gentleman to begin with), although it's commonly said that the direct precursors of the Four, the Challengers of the Unknown, were modeled after Doc Savage and the Fabulous Five's make-up. The members of the Fantastic Four are all based on 50s sci-fi archetypes, with Reed as the quintessential scientist, the grey-templed pipe-smoking patriarch frontman of the expeditions, and some creators over the years seem to have drawn upon Doc Savage as a model Reed. I'm thinking specifically of Mark Waid here, who openly named Doc Savage in his pitch bible:
The eternal problem with Scientifically Inclined Genius Adventures, the reason they don't ring true, is because in real life scientists spend all their damn time in the lab. Not Reed.
F'r pete's sake, we know he undertook all sorts of Indiana Jones missions as a younger man, we've seen that he actively enlisted in a war, and oh yeah, he stole a rocketship and tried to take it to the moon."
Tommy B put his finger on it when he suggested I stop thinking of Reed as the Professor from Gilligan's Island and instead think of him more like Doc Savage. When Reed encounters mental or logistic obstacles in his quest for knowledge, he thinks through them.
Doc Savage, of course, isn't the perfect model - he's a little more blood-and-gristle than Reed, more invested in the search for justice than for knowledge, and a little more "in the moment" as a general rule. Reed's more like Peter Weller as Buckaroo Banzai, they have the same aloof, detached nature. Unless active danger is staring him right in the face, Reed often seems a bit distant and not completely here because his mind is ten minutes in the future.
That addresses the Science-Adventurer aspect, which leaves us with the Superhero side of the equation.

With Doc Savage you of course have one of the, if not the, main archetypal pulp heroes, a character that both Superman and Batman would take a great deal from, and "pulp hero" in itself is a term that exists to define these characters more so in relation to superheroes than what they were actually like in their own stories, time periods and mediums. The superhero as a concept is founded on Superman and Batman and their dychotomy. Costumed Avenger vs Ubermensch, mortal and immortal, light and dark, Dayman and Nightman (AHH-ahhh-AAHHHHH!), and that dynamic is specifically a result of Superman and Batman being direct descendants from Doc Savage and The Shadow respectively, who were Street & Smith's (and by extension the American pulps) Big Two, the top dogs of 1930s hero pulps, and direct opposites to each other.
Doc Savage was created in response to The Phantom Detective (who was the first successful Shadow imitator and thus defined it as the thing everyone was gonna have to do or respond to) and was in many ways a modernized revamp-almost-copy of Street & Smith's Nick Carter during his heyday, in origin and first case and super strength and omnicapable skills and general Great Man-ness and gadgetry and mission statement and so on. Doc was co-created by the editor of Nick Carter Magazine, John Nanovic, and the first response to the Phantom Detective that S&S planned was a reboot of Nick Carter as a generic hardboiled detective, published on March 1933, the same month as Doc's debut, and obviously Doc would go on to achieve much greater success and thus would popularize those traits again with himself as the figurehead archetype of them (not unlike what Superman and Batman would later do).

Unlike The Shadow, Doc Savage does not operate under a secret identity or mask. He is not the hidden master of the city and has no division between his alter egos, and because he performs in broad daylight as a celebrity, is theorically held to social scrutiny, and is fully sanctioned and approved by law enforcement and works with the authorities with public transparency (minus the crime college but let's just, not, for now), it greatly upends and affects the approach he takes to fighting crime. He only has one identity, the greatest man of all time as the stories will remind you at every turn, by his author's own words he "manifests Christliness", and while not much separates Doc Savage's skills from Nick Carter's, he is explicitly and textually framed as superhuman (even a "superman", that term was deployed a few times), and he operates in a contemporary, urban setting that most Pulp Supermen cannot touch without veering into Sci-Fi Superman territory.
Within the hero pulp format that S&S started with Nick Carter and renewed with The Shadow, with the scientific explorer angle, you could argue Doc Savage, in almost exactly the same way as he does in his stories, worked out the solution to an unfixable problem: Turns out you can be as over-the-top super as you want, so long as you have a procession of equivalent super menaces to fight, don't upset society (and if you do it, not where the public where can see, keep it a secret that you can be blackmailed over by crooks you will inevitably silence okay look I'll stop now), have whatever incredible miracle cures and achievements and charity you do work on take place off screen where you never have to deal with them too seriously, and know how to pick your fights.
His service to others resolves the ruler/savior/destroyer conundrum. Savage aids individuals who face problems beyond their control, does great work in advancing medicine and science, and alleviates suffering through charity work, but he leaves the institutions of society in place.
He faces a never-ending succession of villains threatening society, an eternal frontier of gangsters and super-scientific menaces who play the role that Indians take in frontier narratives. The unresolvable nature of crime makes this frontier eternal, so Savage can place his superiority in service to the community and never risk turning into a ruler, savior, or destroyer because he can find challenges sufficient to absorb his energies.
The Savage solution—the hero position would be adopted by the creators of other prosocial supermen to come, including Superman, although only the adventures of Superman would be set in contemporary America.
Thus instead of marking an end to the bourgeois domination of society, as Nietzsche foresaw, the superman serves to protect that domination through myth-narratives. - Superhero: The Secret Origin of a Genre, by Peter Coogan

Reed Richards, in turn, is defined (INCORRECTLY, I say, feeling a plasma crackle barely miss my skull) as the smartest man on the planet, a mental superhuman who operates on a level above and beyond that of everyone around him, and a freak accident during a space travel grants him physical superhumanity to match, with his body able to morph and bend under his will. He alleviates the ruler/savior/destroyer conundrum Coogan described in much of the exact same way described above, kept busy with an endless procession of strange dimensions and aliens and supervillain challenges, and Mark Waid's famous confession scene in Fantastic Four #489 addresses the fate that looms over the Sci-Fi Superman directly, with the "very arrogant man who did something very stupid" pointificating to his toddler child just how necessary it was to ensure that the world would not fear and destroy the people he'd irreversibly mutated as a result of hubris, what is even the point of his grandstanding title and colorful outfit and public adventures and all that.

The life of superpowered adventurer celebrities was a necessity, and his superhero persona, Mr Fantastic, is a tabloid-catching act of penitence to mask his ultimate shame and to compensate the people he loves most. He lives for science, he craves discovery above all, but as far back as the Lee/Kirby stories, he still drags the team into awful intrusive press conferences none of them want to go but must, he sits through meetings with hardass generals to buy his team more leeway and trust, he takes the time to stretch across the city to visit sick children in hospitals and say hello to passing helicopters, he has to be the stick-in-the-mud dad who stretches himself thin to keep Johnny and Ben from ditching the team or seriously hurting each other (those first Johnny and Ben spats get way more violent than you'd expect), and he has to make difficult and even manipulative and harsh decisions even then to save the most lives he can. He carries a responsability to his family and loved ones first and foremost, and fashioning himself and them into superheroes is how he lives up to that responsability. It's what allows them to exist and thrive in-universe as much as out of it.
(We're not gonna play catch-up to the "why doesn't Reed Richards cure cancer" conversation but even that, in itself, is an extension of a thread that we can trace back to Doc and the Sci-Fi Supermen before him, when seams in the fantasy start showing with the introduction of consequence, a trend that particularly catches up to these scientist superhero characters who followed in Doc Savage's wake, and obviously caught up to Doc himself several times by now, for reasons @artbyblastweave describes as "a consequence of contemporary writers being Allowed To Notice And Unpack Things" and elaborates on very neatly here)
As a superhero, Reed Richards exists in conversation with Superman and Batman, same as every other character within the superhero "genre", which means he also exists in conversation with those traits borrowed from Doc Savage, and The Shadow, and all these other guys listed who were crucial in their development and a lot of others I'm leaving out of the conversation for now. A crucial part of that conversation and where the Fantastic Four figure into it is the fact that they were designed to not be traditional superheroes but to flip most if not all the conventions established on it's head, a part of that being their initial lack of uniforms (and when they did get uniforms they were just that, uniforms, rather than costumes), the lack of a secret identity, and the fact that the Four are scientists and explorers first, and crimefighting superheroes a distant second they're forced to frequently make a close second or first priority. Marvel made it's big defining pop culture splash with the Fantastic Four by turning superhero convention on it's head and doing as much as they could to do the opposite of what Brand Echh was doing.

And that's kinda the main reason they end up inviting similarities with Doc Savage and other pulp heroes, because they're going out of their way to imitate and subvert traits and tropes that Superman and Batman were already imitating and subverting from those guys in the first place, that they in turn were imitating and subverting from guys that came before them, and etc.
Archetypes are breakthroughs, and no breakthrough happens in a vacuum. In the end, a lot of these strands and connections between these characters are less specifically the result of writers consciously following in the footsteps of Doc Savage and those that came before or alongside him, and more so with the fact that there's only so many left turns you can take before you just end up in a circle, or reinventing the wheel as it were.

Penny Benjamin's name flashes across the screen of your vibrating cell phone, rousing you from an otherwise heavy slumber and you answer it, frowning at the late hour.
“Penny, is everything alright?”
Because everyone knows that bad news has a terrible habit of following two-AM phone calls.
Penny hesitates on the other end while someone in the background hollers something. “Everything's fine, Sass. I'm sorry for waking you, but would you mind swinging over here to pick Rooster up?”
You blanch at the question. “He’s back on American soil?”
“Oh, he sure is.” She confirms.
Swinging your feet over the side of the bed, you ask, “What about Mav?”
Penny sighs heavily. “Maverick is currently as indisposed as Rooster is.”
“Penny, m’darlin’! Is that her? May I talk to her?”
Penny pulls the phone from her ear to hiss something at someone in the background and then she’s back a second later to tell you that he’s asking for you personally.
Lucky me.
“Yeah Penny- give me twenty minutes.”
In the short amount of time that it takes to drive to the Hard Deck you nearly turn back twice; the last words you ever uttered to Rooster play on like a broken record in your mind and causes unease to prick at you. You’re about to make a final run for it when the familiar neon sign catches your eye through the early morning light and it’s entirely too late now. Parking your car, you notice that the bar is closed for the evening, and you glance around in mild confusion. You are mere seconds from calling Penny back when you spot three lone figures standing on the beach a couple yards away. Drawing nearer, you notice both Penny and Maverick with their arms around Rooster’s impossibly broad shoulders- and they’re telling him something, but you lose their words to the white noise of the waves breaking on the shore before you.
“Hi guys.” You announce your presence and Maverick turns to face you, his smile wide and begrudgingly infectious.
“Well, aren’t you a sight for sore eyes. It’s good to see you, Sass.”
Penny turns to you, her expression grateful. “Thank you for coming, Sass.”
“Bit of a rowdy night for a Wednesday, huh?”
Penny tugs her bottom lip between her teeth and nods her head, her sky-blue orbs glitter brilliantly in the low morning light. “It sure was.” She pecks Rooster’s cheek goodbye and tugs on the sleeve of Maverick’s worn leather jacket. “Hate to cut a party early Mav, but eight o’clock comes fast.”
Maverick guffaws and thumps Rooster on the back twice. “You owe me a beer, kid.” He ruffles a palm through the mop of Rooster’s unruly auburn hair- something about the gesture tells you it’s a remnant from his childhood, and it makes you smile. “You remember what I told you, hm?”
Rooster nods, once.
“Thanks again for coming, Sass. I’m sorry for waking you.” Penny whispers as she walks past.
“It’s no problem, really. I had just closed my eyes.”
She caresses a warm palm to your cheek, her gaze knowing. “His plane hit the tarmac a week ago and he hasn’t stopped talking about you since.”
You watch them retreat from sight and sidle up next to Rooster. “So. This is how I find out you’re stateside?”
He sways a little on the spot, a byproduct of the alcohol consumed, no doubt. “You made your position about our future communication adamantly clear the last time we spoke.”
You certainly can’t begrudge him that because it’s true. “And yet here we are.”  
“Here we are.” His soft, wrecked voice echoes.
Silence settles like fine dust between the pair of you, and despite everything that transpired in the past, you cannot deny that you missed him with every fiber of your being. A multitude of questions dance just shy of your reach- Where have you been? And- Why did you listen when I told you never to call again? But all you can manage is a quiet, “Talk to me, Rooster.”
“It’s his birthday today.” He murmurs. His gaze is distant- lost to the vast ocean before him. “He would have been sixty.” His admission weighs heavier than you thought it might, and your arms ache to hold him. “Is it fucked up that I come here sometimes to feel closer to him?”
You shake your head. “Grief is a fickle thing, Rooster. You do what you can to cope. No one can fault you for that.”
“I miss them so much.”
His despair is suddenly palpable; it washes over you like warm rain and all you can do is be near to him. “The grief means that there’s love, Rooster. It means that there is so much unexpressed love still. And it’ll stay with you- it’s supposed to stay with you. But it doesn’t have to be a bad thing.” A tear slips from his closed eye and cascades down his flushed cheek, and you reach up to brush it away with the pad of your thumb. “Let’s get you home, hm?”
Rooster relents and stumbles through the sand to your car. The ride is silent, your eyelids heavy with the weight of interrupted sleep. “Will you wait around a little while?” Rooster asks, upon arrival. And because you’ve always had a particularly hard time with saying no to him, you smile softly and nod your head.
“Sure, Rooster.”
It’s been six months since you’ve been inside of his house and stepping into the front hallway brings the memories back in roiling waves.
Rooster taking you up against the wall after an evening out at a military gala, the kitchen where scrambled eggs and bacon were made on Sunday mornings. The living room where he used to slow dance with you to Otis Redding. The photographs adorning the walls that the two of you purchased together.
“May I put a record on?” The hour is late and wearing on, but you’re not sure when you’ll get this opportunity again, so you take full advantage of it.
“Of course.” Rooster murmurs.
Making your way over to the record player beneath the bay window, you search through the case next to you until you find the one that you want. Slipping Giant from Buddy Holly out of its cover, you place it into the player, position the needle, and step back. It takes a few moments before the riff to Love Is Strange sounds through the speakers and transports the otherwise quiet room to the late sixties.
“A good choice.” Rooster approves from the doorway.
“It’s nostalgic for me.” You shrug.
“Me too.” He pushes himself from the doorframe to walk over to you. “May I?” He asks, in reference to a dance.
“You may.”
He takes you into his arms, and the achingly familiar feeling they bring you is so intense, you have no choice but to drop your chin to his shoulder blade to keep from sighing in utter satisfaction. He sways slowly with you on the spot, his large warm hands cradle the small of your back- and they hold you like you’re the most fragile thing in the universe. Like if he’s not careful, you’ll shatter into a million magnificent pieces before his eyes.
“Most of my memories are thread bare, but when I listen to music like this, I can still see them together.” He clears his throat. “He’d put on a record- like you just did, and he’d dance her around the living room until it ended. And the next night, they’d do it all over again.”
The needle ticks and the record finishes and your eyelids threaten close of their own volition when Rooster leads you by the hand to his bedroom down the hall. He makes no move to remove your clothing, and sleep is so heavy on your mind that you fall into bed without another thought. He sidles in beside you, brushes the hair back from your ear and says, “I never got to thank you before I left.”
“Thank me for what?” You mumble, sleepily.
Rooster traces a fingertip down the bridge of your nose. “I packed ice around my heart after my parents passed. Howdy guys!
I'm opening a Instagram store for LPS and MLP commissions, adopts, pfps, and more! It's still a wip so nothing is for sale yet. And because I don't have too many MLP drawings to show for example, I thought I would open a few FREE commissions!

I can draw an original character of yours, whether that be a random MLP OC or I can draw your pony sona/self insert. I can also draw any of the canon/fandom ponies from the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic series.
Or if you'd rather, I can make/design an adopt for you! You can give me some details/ideas you'd like included, or I can make the character from scratch and completely surprise you! I can also make a pony sona for you if you don't have one already. You can give me some details about you (things you like, fave colors, etc). And again, I can surprise you or you can tell me what/how you want to look like and I can draw it for you! (coat color, mane and tail color, length and style, cutie mark, whether you want to be a pegasus, unicorn, or Earth pony).
And if you don't know, I can choose for you on which I think best suits you out of the three! Whichever you'd like. We can go over and discuss more details if you want as well.

The commission will be done digitally by me on procreate. It'll probably take me a week or a few to complete as I can be busy irl and I'll have multiple comms to do. So I ask you for your patience as I make this for you. Thank you.
I will be taking a total of 3 FREE commissions for now. But I may take more in the future. I'll make an edit on here and on my profile once all of the slots are taken. It is first come first serve, to make it fair.
Now for commission rules:
You can post it anywhere you want, but you MUST give me credit.
You cannot remove or alter my watermark/signature in anyway. This includes if you're using it as a pfp.
You cannot claim the drawing as your own creation, even if it is your OC, as I was the one who created it. Especially because the drawing is free, I think it's only fair that I receive credit in exchange.
I have every right to decline your comm for whatever reason.
I will only draw one character per commission. And it will be with a plain background only, as I don't have the time to draw backgrounds for everyone.
Please give me everything you have on your character that you want me to have in mind when drawing them.
You can print the artwork, but you cannot claim the drawing itself as your own creation. Again, please give me credit.
I reserve full rights to the image and it's use unless otherwise agreed upon.

Let me preface this: I'm an architecture major
I used to be a big LO fan but obviously fell out of love of it like a lot of us did, and I know LO uses SketchUp for backgrounds. That is not an issue I have with the comic or any comic, I want artists to have an easier time in any way they can. I was always under the impression Rachel imported the models into Photoshop and drew over them like you can see in the early episodes with the sketchy lines. Well, school just started recently for me and I now have access to SketchUp for my coursework, and I made a few discoveries: 1. Photoshop cannot read SketchUp files, and while you can import them into Clip Studio through some configuring, they can be finicky and will lose parts in the importing process, so they are best used into the original SketchUp program to export as PNGs. 2. Many of the models Rachel uses are incredibly easy to find, especially if you put "modern", "luxury", or "classy" before the main part of the search. Many of the houses and rooms for example are first page results. 3. The biggest discovery: You know how we all assumed Rachel was hand-drawing all the lines over the SketchUp models and how she gave up the longer LO went on? Well, it's actually worse. It turns out SketchUp has a thing called "Styles" in it, which means you can mess with the lines and look of the model, such as making it look more like a blueprint or playing with the colors. Well, they have a lot of styles on SketchUp known as "sketchy lines", which are the exact ones Rachel used early in the comic to fit with her style, and it takes a literal click of a button to do. All she would do is pose the model, click the sketchy line style, and export the PNG. That's it. So, yeah, Rachel is so checked out of the comic that she can't even bother to click a single button to make the models fit into the comic's style anymore. Use that information however you like.
Ouhhh sorry OP, I'm about to like, undo all the work you just put into that ask. We've already known about the 3D background problem for a long while now.
First off, it's more likely LO doesn't use SketchUp but actually Acon3D, which is a website that offers 3D models both for free and at cost, which are actually compatible with software like Clip Studio. As soon as you open it up you'll likely see a lot of very familiar backgrounds that are often used in romances, isekais, and period pieces. It's literally the go-to spot for Webtoon Originals creators. Like, to the point that I wouldn't be surprised if Naver was partnered with them because of how many of their creators use it.
Second, there's plenty of up-to-date evidence to support the fact that Rachel doesn't exclusively stick to one software, sometimes she's drawing in Photoshop, sometimes she's drawing in Clip Studio Paint, sometimes she's drawing in Procreate. She's undoubtedly using Clip Studio for her paneling, speech bubbles, and backgrounds, as there are built in tools to utilize and convert 3D materials into lineart, among other features that are recognizable as coming from CSP because they're not available in PS or Procreate.
Third, yes, she just uses filters to turn her backgrounds into lineart, this has been apparent since S1. The only backgrounds she's ever 'hand drawn' were the ones involving lots of nature and even those are mostly just Photoshop brushes stamped on.

Like I realize I'm probably bursting your bubble here and I apologize for that lmao but these buildings were never hand-drawn, this is not new information ( ̄﹏ ̄;) I appreciate you mentioning your own experiences with it as you're learning it though, I find once you start to learn the process yourself you really start to notice what others are doing. Even I've gone through that over the past couple years as I started to use 3D models and more advanced tools specifically for drawing webtoons.
I will mention btw, there's nothing wrong with using 3D models for your character drawing and backgrounds. The only time it tends to get frustrating is when you're reading a comic that isn't making any attempts to blend the background in with the art style.
Like, The Kiss Bet probably uses 3D models to help with perspective and laying out scenes quickly without second-guessing, but you can tell they still hand-draw over the models because they look natural and like they belong to the comic's stylization. The characters don't look out of place sitting in a living room and the living room doesn't look distracting.

But then you get stuff like Lore Olympus, Let's Play, and Midnight Poppy Land, and it becomes a bit more obvious they're not giving a shit about backgrounds lmao

I get it, WT's deadlines are cutthroat as fuck, but if it's getting to the point that you have an entire team behind you and you're literally just copy pasting video game models from Phantom Hourglass, then it's probably time to re-focus your priorities a bit. There are comics with as few as 1-2 assistants (and even in some cases no assistants at all!!) pulling off backgrounds better than this, even when they're taking shortcuts.

But a lot of that does come down to how WT manages its expectations as well as support for their creators. The deadlines and requirements WT puts their creators under are insane and awful in the long-term, and they're not acting with the amount of professionalism they ought to be for a platform that's trying to breakout as a major publisher here in the West. I feel like it comes down to WT loosening the choke chain around their creators, but also creating a standardized level of quality to ensure it's not suffering for the sake of quantity. The traditional literature industry has real editors and stages of quality control for a reason, whereas WT is more interested in just throwing as many series at the wall and dumping all their stock into the ones that stick.

Let's start with the background characters!
I think Lizzy would be lesbian. Ofc, crushing on V. I also think she'd have an extreme soft spot for anyone who treated her with respect out of hey, Lizzy's actually pretty cool and not heck, if I don't be nice she'll spread a petty rumor- (she has and will do it again)
Thad.. Thad's gay. He is.. SO GAY. I know he's a 'jock' and all that, but the way he act is kinda soft, I wouldn't be surprised if he fell for the rival school's quarterback-
Now for the main 3 Disassembly Drones!
I don't have any actual headcanons for J because A, I don't like her.. at all- and B, she barely shows up-
But I think J would be one of those extremely straight, extremely Christian people. She's okay with LGBTQ+ people, but she's never held hands with any woman other than her mother. Do Murder Drones have mothers like Worker Drones? N is straight! I love him to death and I think him and Uzi's relationship in the series is adorable, though I don't see him being attracted to any other gender.
I have a feeling that N may have had some cheap programming for him to be so soft on Worker Drones. Perhaps he was made fast using any part available, or maybe repaired, and they used some Worker Drone parts to fix him?
V is such a damn lesbian and you cannot tell me that she doesn't has a crush on Lizzy-
I don't know what it is about the Vizzy ship, but I love it. It might just be my love for gay, interspecies romance, but... gimme all of it!
Now for the others!
Tessa is straight, though that.. doesn't really matter anymore considering she's like the only human left-
Tessa has been both verbally and physically abused from just being overly scolded in her childhood, to being locked/chained in the library/basement/wherever V and her were in Ep. 5, Home-
Uzi is pansexual- she'll take anyone as long as it's genuine love, since she's been starved of affection for so long (Khan I'm gonna beat you up for this)
Uzi bit Rebecca once when she was mocking her. It's canon now.
Doll.. I think she'd be extremely against love and she'd think she's asexual, but then she has love at first sight with someone and she panics.
I have a feeling she has a Gacha 2019 backstory- her mom loved her and her dad couldn't care, and oh no, here comes V killing them both, and now she's the quiet kid
Nori has no clue what her sexuality is. That was an arranged marriage between Khan and her; I don't think she'd actually fall for someone that interested in doors and doors only- but then again, Khan got more adventurous in Ep. 7, so that could show how he was before Nori 'died', which in that case she would have happily indulged in her crazy drawings with him.
"ACCORDING TO MY WIFE'S CLOSET, THE PLANET IS GOING TO START EATING US SOON."
Khan is doorsexual straight. He's a simple man, despite his... affection for doors. I don't have anything on him other than he has an overwhelming guilt for having to 'put Nori out of her misery' and being a horrible dad to Uzi.
Yeva doesn't get much screentime, so.. I don't have any real headcanons for her.. I got nothing :P
Scenarios:
Once V gets regrown or respawned or whatever, I think she'd get immediately hug-tackled by Uzi. She's definitely shown some growth in personality in a good way.
N would let Uzi shove herself down his throat because A, is this an act of love? B, he's too shy to stop her, and C, oh hey she tastes nice
Nori could shrink and then eat Uzi like the mother she is
or vice/versa, Uzi finds Nori and eats her to keep her safe
I is kinda drained so uh yeah that's all the stuff I can spew, thank you for asking this and sorry-
