PICK A CARD - 10 things you should do to become the person you want to be in 2023.
Tumblr media
PILE 1 //
You can explore your sensual energy.
Remimance on your pain in order to understand how much you have grown.
Enjoy your own star power (writing, singing etc.)
Moses Sumney has a song that says "Think about who gave them their definitions and rewrite those definitions for themselves". Sometimes what you think of yourself comes from someone else's wrong opinion of you - do the work to define you.
Learn more languages, interact with people from different cultures etc. (Make sure you're engaging with people outside of your bubble.
Be more direct, especially with your romantic interests and partners. I see more of "do you want this to be something more?", "how do you feel about me?"
FLIRT (check my flirting PAC on my master list).
Budget in such a way that you have some extra savings that will go toward life's pleasures; get that bag you want, go on a trip etc.
Say NO more - stand your ground and speak up for yourself. Your inner child deserves it. You deserve it.
Attend more live shows and concerts.
PILE 2 //
Take care of building your finances, school or work career - a major focus of the year.
Trust in your own feelings and instincts about other people instead of going with whatever people have to say.
Identify the bad habits you may have, compassionately release them and practice a new helpful habit.
You might struggle with your emotions, and to help you stabilize them, you need some tools. Whether that's having emergency affirmations, meditation, eft tapping, sleeping etc.
A lot of you are transitioning from youth into adulthood and I'm seeing that you need to focus on pushing yourself into the adult role. It'll help you with your responsibilities and socially.
Remain hopeful in love but take care of your feelings.
Instead of asking people for advice and validation, try to tap into your own inner power for the answers.
Prompt more conversations with other people. Get to know other people more. Be more curious - it's good for your own social growth.
Very specific but you may carry spiritual/religious trauma, release the resentment - PLEASE. It gets in the way of how you perceive yourself.
Give yourself credit often. Celebrate your wins. Don't just let life pass you by.
PILE 3 //
You're doing so well. Make some room for some fun - blast music, dance more etc.
You've been alone for too long - you need a kiss or two. Make the effort to date or manifest more romantic opportunities. You deserve it.
Shake off regrets and move forward owning your life and your power. This is your life.
Put more effort into your body and health. Walk more, yoga, weights etc,
Your doubts and fears are just a shadow of your old self. Do everything to maintain the new you. The ideal version of yourself. Stop falling for that trap.
Avoid your ex relationships (family or friendships) and if you can't, take care of yourself as you interact with them. It might set you back a lot. If you're with someone new (romantically or not), do not compare them to those ex relationships.
Doors are opening. Walk through them all.
This needs to be emphasized, you keep replaying bad memories with people from your past, please do the work to overcome this. Let it go. Cut those cords. It keeps you stagnant.
Latto says "Money talks and I speak fluent". Heal your relationship with money. Make space for more money.
Increase your productivity and do the projects, goals etc. you've always had in mind.

Reasons Why Your Characters Don't Feel Real
Even if you love your characters, they might not seem like real people when you’re writing them. When you can’t pinpoint the problem, consider these potential factors hold your characters back from their full potential.
1. They Don’t Have Goals
Imagine yourself on vacation. You don’t have any plans or expectations other than to relax. If you stayed like that for too long, you’d eventually feel bored. Your mind would wander.
Characters can have the same problem when they don’t have at least one goal.
Typically, the goal gets established at the beginning of a story. Especially in the first chapter if you’re writing a book. The goal could be a quest or a question. It also doesn’t have to be the primary plot driver for your entire story. It just has to get your character started.
Their goal could be to solve a mystery, make a new friend, protect someone they love, or make a specific change in their world.
Need more inspiration? This blog post has over 100 potential goals to jumpstart your creativity.
2. They Don’t Have Any Specific Motivation
Let’s say you have a real life goal: you’re going to buy your first car.
That’s great, but what’s your motivation? What made you set that goal?
You might consciously want to have a car so you can join a travel sports team or get your own place. The subconscious motivator would be a desire for change or freedom.
Once you know your character’s primary or initial goal, figure out what their motivation is. They should have some inner drive to achieve that goal even when things get hard.
Motivations also add emotional depth to flat characters, which might be why your protagonist or supporting characters feel not as well-rounded as you’d like. As you’re developing your characters or writing your story, keep their motivation central to the decisions they make to achieve their goal. (Or not—it depends on your planned arc for their growth.)
3. Their Dialogue Doesn’t Feel Right
We’ve all read bad dialogue and we’ve all written it. Conversations might feel too tight or robotic. How do you fix it?
First, I highly recommend reading it out loud. Act the lines out by yourself. You’ll notice the emotional weight and might write body language more accurately. You’ll also hear the unnatural phrasing or whatever’s specifically the problem, making it much easier to edit.
It’s also possible that your dialogue contains too many long sentences. It might feel natural to write them that way, but people don’t always speak at length. Sometimes sentences are short. Or incomplete. People hesitate on words, catch their breath, rush through thoughts.
You can also check out the great tips over here for more dialogue-specific work.
Remember, how people speak shows what they mean as much as your dialogue tags or body language descriptors. Give your dialogue room to be more human and your characters will be too.
4. They Don’t Have Flaws
You probably wouldn’t be friends with someone who was perfect. I definitely wouldn’t be. People who are perfect (or pretend to be) are irritating. They can also leave us feeling depressed or held at arm’s length.
Characters can create the same problems for readers when they don’t have flaws. Create those incredible characters you adore so much—then make them realistic.
Make people who have different morals than you. People who push themselves to be smart to ignore their emotions. People who love so immensely that it’s their fatal flaw.
Flaws can be physical, but they should also be internal. This site is a great resource if you want a list of flaws for inspiration.
5. They Aren’t Growing
All great characters start their story with a worldview, a perspective, or a personality that hooks readers. By the end of the story, one or more of those things change.
Stories are about learning. Characters and readers learn things or experience things together. Characters are much less interesting if the plot doesn’t affect them in some way.
Double-check your plot outline or ideas to make sure they create a character arc. Flat characters can be useful, but they shouldn’t be your protagonist. This could be the reason why your characters don’t feel real. Make sure something challenges them so they feel like a real human growing through ups and downs.
Make Your Characters More Realistic
We’ve all found ourselves bored with our own characters. That doesn’t mean you’re a bad writer—it means you have room to work on your character development skills. Use these tips to get started and you’ll feel more confident about your story in no time.

my tips for restricting: notes from my intake log from october when i lost 10 lbs without trying:
1. aim for 0 calories, all the time, in any situation.
if this is going to be your absolute #1 goal, you need to think like it is. restriction and motivation need to be on your mind 24/7. this way you can never be caught off guard when tempted by food, or lose focus. i remember repeating "food is the enemy" in my head when i was about to get a snack.
2. keep your eating habits SIMPLE! do not complicate things. do not make decisions that depend on future you.
never say, "well, i'll still be under my limit" or "i'd have enough time to burn it off so might as well" because then you end up getting a ride instead of walking or being offered a snack and then suddenly you're completely off track and ready to lose control and binge.
3. make 1/3 of the food you eat "comfort food"
a decent part of the food i ate was some form of comfort food because my family are all fat americans. (i dont mean junk food, like cheeseburgers milkshakes poptarts etc) i think this helped me out because it gets rid of emotional hunger which is something i struggle with now. living off the stereotypical ana diet of almonds, black coffee, rice cakes, cucumber, cream cheese, dark chocolate and hardboiled eggs is only going to make you crave "bad" foods more. plus only eating cold foods makes you feel sad and bored. there's plenty of them, but my fav warm low cal comfort foods are:
campbells chunky chicken noodle soup (110 per cup, 220 per whole can) v filling and delicious, heat it up
bibigo (i think?) chicken and cilantro dumplings (i dont remember but theyre really low for dumplings)
4. weigh yourself every few days. don't get fixated on the number going down by specific increments, just make sure the general slope is downwards.
if you want to lose faster, restrict harder. getting fixated on numbers instead of eating habits is a great way to stop losing weight. i know it's exciting to calculate how much you'll lose eating 400 a day for a week but you are so much better off limiting your math to cal counting and unit conversion.
5. don't switch up your mindset!
only recently have i started losing my motivation often and switching between cal limits and diets and high res to low res. this leads me to binging and feeling out of control. i would recommend not dieting but always trying to get lower and lower "scores". don't worry about the abc diet or the get worse diet etc etc, just starve on your own and listen to your body (not too often though)
remember, discipline means sticking to what your plan says, not what your brain says!

How do you keep up the motivation for working out? Or the planning of what exercises to do and go for? Asking cause I’ve been interested in weight training and tried it before but ya know- after 3 months, took a break, and now it’s hard to get back into it. Hope you don’t mind the questions! Congrats on your progress too!
I don't mind questions at all, no worries! :)
So I guess my answer to the question is to really evaluate why you're trying to get into weight training: What are your goals? Is it for the aesthetics? Is it because you wanna be strong, athletic? Is it a lifestyle you're willing to commit to?
I say ask yourself these questions and really evaluate what you want out of it, because I'll be honest: motivation is what got me started, but it isn't why I'm still at it. The bottom line to getting into weight training at any level in my opinion is to view it as a lifestyle commitment. Because it is; anyone can lift weights, for sure, but if you wanna make any meaningful progress in the gym you have to take it seriously.
As such, my one of my biggest tips in the motivation department: make weight training a non-negotiable component to your lifestyle. More than that, make your health a non-negotiable component to your lifestyle. Because fitness is a long game, one you will play for the rest of your life, so it must become a regular part of your life, however way you choose to make it so.
SO with all that said, some tips that could help you to stay consistent:
1.) Make a training plan. Figure out exactly what you're aiming for with your training program (are you training for strength or hypertrophy? Conditioning?), then select the training split (Fullbody | Upper Lower | Push Pull Legs | Bro Split) and exercises you're going to utilize to reach that goal (I recommend only selecting 4-6 exercises per workout. If you're doing more than that, unless you're an experienced and/or professional lifter, you're building unnecessary fatigue). Do your research here.
2.) Decide your training frequency. An extension to 1: once you've decided your training's purpose and the exercises that'll help you reach it, choose for how long this block will last. At minimum to see any sort of progress I recommend 4 weeks, but ideally something around 6-16 weeks for your training program to see substantial results is best. This is including the deloads (premeditated active rest periods), which is another thing entirely so I won't go into detail here.
Once you figure out how many weeks you're gonna go, plan how many days a week you're gonna go. Select specific days and times and treat it like it's mandatory. No matter how you're feeling or the weather or whatever, you're fuckin goin to that gym and getting the workout in. Be mindful of what your body is saying, but hold yourself accountable; don't make excuses.
3.) Have contingency plans. Let's say you've planned a training block for 5 days a week and you're going strong. But something at work comes up and it cuts your time much shorter. Instead of shrugging and going "Welp, can't go anymore I guess :/" try thinking "if I can't go 5 days, I'll go at least 4 days a week." Can't go 4 days? Go 3 days, so on. Backup plans for your backup plans. Learn to adapt to the challenges every day life brings you.
4.) Treat it like riding a bike. Weight training regardless of your goals is a long term game, and there are always gonna be ups and downs. There are gonna be times where it's hard to get back into it. Well, like falling off a bike, the best thing you can do to continue riding the bike is to get back on it. So get back on it. If you need to start slow again, then do it, because any step is still a step more than before. You'll gain momentum again, just give yourself some grace and patience.
5.) Trust the process. Because weight training is a long game, it's also a game of waiting. Visible progress is gonna take some time, so take inventory on other things to gauge it. Instead of looking at the scale or at the mirror, ask yourself how you feel. Do you feel more energized? How has your mood been lately? Do you feel a little more confident? Do you move easier? In the gym, are your numbers going up? Do the weights move easier? Do you feel focused and in the zone when in the pocket? Take inventory with yourself often and trust that you're making progress, even on days where it feels like you've stagnated.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand that's all I got! I hope that answers your questions! :)

I haven’t read the books but I do know what they have done with Moiraine and Siuan’s relationship is way more than it was in the books. On the one hand they developed it fully, have given them a very clear and deep 20 year relationship. And on the other hand, they also destroyed it fully by the end of season 2. Where do you think they are taking this? Will they stick to the books and give them their other relationships or will they weave them back together. It’s anyone’s guess but am interested to hear what yours is. I like the theory that their fallout was preplanned and part of the reason the episode was called daes daemar. But me liking something does not equal logic and fact to be sure
imo there's 0 chance that either of them will have their book relationships, that's just not happening and i find it a little silly when people (not you! but i've seen others doing it) immediately panic and think the show broke them up for that purpose haha of course i can understand why people are worried and upset! but it feels so SO unlikely that either character would ever have a romance with anyone but each other in the show, so that is one worry i think it's pretty safe to set aside altogether. (for time constraint reasons if nothing else; giving moiraine and/or siuan a brand-new love interest and having to develop that relationship would be far from the best use of the show's limited time. plus, i remember rafe outright called moiraine a lesbian in an interview once, so i highly doubt he's got plans for her, at least, to have a male love interest at any point.)
this got a little long so putting a read more!
personally i don't buy the preplanned fallout theory because i think the waygate scene doesn't work with it. if their goal was to make rand trust moiraine, then they accomplished that with their scene in the throne room; there was no need for siuan to chase them down to the waygate, she could've just let them leave if she was in on moiraine's plan here. the only time this theory felt plausible to me is when someone suggested they were in on it together UP UNTIL siuan saw moiraine channeling after moiraine had told her she was stilled, and so everything before that point was an act but everything after was genuine. but even then, it's tricky to explain why siuan would have even chased them to the waygate in the first place - unless she just wanted to make sure they got away successfully and/or wanted leane & co to think she made an effort to stop them, but then catching moiraine in an apparent lie made her change her mind and actually try to stop them? but yeah, imo there's no way the waygate scene was not genuine, but it's possible (but still unlikely; again imo) that the scenes before it were part of a scheme.
and to me, that's okay! to me, as a queer person myself (but ofc i'm just speaking for myself, not for All Queer People), giving queer characters and queer relationships the same narrative weight as het ones also means letting them be flawed and have conflict, rather than keeping them up on a pedestal of perfection and ultimately relegating them to the background of the story because you won't let them face obstacles or develop. i understand why others don't feel that way and were upset by the way things went down in 2x07, but that's just my personal feeling and that's why i personally wasn't bothered to see siuan and moiraine have major conflict here (especially since, unlike the Queer Traumaporn in so much media, this conflict had nothing to do with them being queer - it just felt like a natural conflict that arose from the two characters' specific personalities and life circumstances, as opposed to feeling like they were being punished by their world or by the narrative for being queer, you know?)
duty is a huge theme of WOT and here we saw how moiraine and siuan are both so committed to duty above absolutely everything else. they are both willing to sacrifice anything for what they each see as the greater good, and here, when they realize they have different ideas* about what best serves the greater good, they sacrifice even their relationship with each other because they feel they have no other choice, because they've spent 20 years training themselves to think that the greater good is more important than their personal happiness. to me it's so beautifully tragic! and to me it felt like the best kind of tragedy, one that's rooted in the specific characterization of the individuals involved and on all the previous choices they've made that built up to make the moment of tragedy an inevitable outcome.
*and both are reasonable and in-character ideas that were set up last season. we saw how in their discussion of "can the prophecies be trusted?" in 1x06 that moiraine is skeptical of tower tradition/protocol because she's been out in the world and largely cut off from the tower for 20 years, whereas siuan tends to trust tower tradition/protocol because she's been in the tower leading it for 20 years. and now in s2, from moiraine's perspective they need to break with tower protocol because the tower is too fractured and they have too many enemies within it, but from siuan's perspective they need to return to tower protocol because they tried going rogue and doing so freed the forsaken and was a huge mistake.
all this being said, i do not by any means think the relationship is 100% dead and over for good. like you say, the show put in work to make their relationship much deeper than it was in the books, and i don't think that was for nothing! i think that siuan in particular has been set up for a really meaty character development arc and that this is only the very beginning for her, and that by the end of the show we'll see the two of them reconcile and come back together. maybe i'm totally wrong and maybe it'll turn out that i shouldn't have given the benefit of the doubt, but as of now i don't feel there's reason to worry the show has completely trashed their relationship for good. but season 3 will be a make-or-break season, so by the end of that, depending on how certain book events play out, we should have a much clearer idea of their long-term plans for siuan and siuaraine!

i know this seems lengthy, but please give it a read! this blog has one goal in mind - to make tumblr a safer space for the 'scary' side of neurodivergence. for some, this might act as a resource blog, for others it might be inflammatory and for hopefully the majority a place of safety and respect. i will be exploring and discussing the mental health disorders and conditions that don't fit into society's 'acceptable and appropriate' boxes, the ones that can't so easily be romanticised or that are too often fetishised, that face extensive, harmful and isolating stigma and ableism and that often suffer tremendously at the hands of misplaced blame and unaddressed trauma.
please approach this blog with an open mind and show the same respect you'd want to receive. i know it's easy to forget we're all people behind a screen but we are. anon is off, because i want to avoid hate speech where possible. this is for all corners of tumblr, including the roleplay community. i appreciate some of the things you might see may make you feel invalidated or might trigger you, but be patient and try to remain unbiased. at no point do i want or intend to offend or criticise you. if anything does, let me know and we can talk about it.
i personally face the daily stigma and ableism that comes with my own mental health - such as narcissistic personality disorder and antisocial personality disorder. i'm not about to make a list, but as someone that's experienced and witnessed this stigma and ableism an unbearable amount within the roleplay community and tumblr generally, as well as outside of my own home in the real world ( because as much as some would like to argue that being 'chronically online' is the root cause of facing mental health ableism, it isn't. ) i am as vulnerable and exposed to it offline as i am online. i do not condone generalising mental health and will treat every disorder and condition mentioned as a spectrum.
i am not the gospel, i am not the know all, but i've reached a place where i can't sit by and say nothing anymore while strangers demonise and villainise people like me without a second thought. often while insisting on receiving empathy, kindness, respect and compassion from those around them. mental health support doesn't stop at depression and anxiety. if you want to call yourself a supporter, and certainly if you want to use the title of 'empath', do the right thing and support everyone - yes, even society's 'scary' illnesses.
this starts with things such as altering your vocabulary. i'm not telling you to tip-toe around every word, but every word on that list holds weight and impacts those around you. it's very telling if this doesn't matter to you. be mindful that everyone deserves a safe support system, and everyone deserves compassion - even if they're not capable of reciprocating it themselves. everyone deserves to feel welcome. you can't expect individuals exhibiting harmful or negative behaviours, due to a background of trauma forcing them to develop in a specific way to survive, to seek help and healing while continuing to demonise and villainise them. this only serves to make us hide, bottling everything up until we can no longer cope, because we feel therapists are compromised by stigma and no one will be supportive or sympathetic to our situation. we cannot heal, despite ableists demanding it from us, because of them creating harmful media, stories, characters, assumptions and lies about us. this costs lives.
please note this isn't written in accusatory tone. nobody is perfect. i, myself, have experienced internalised ableism - due to society teaching me to project my own confusion, frustration, trauma and discomfort onto others instead of picking it apart, breaking it down and accepting myself. this is also frequent within the community, where individuals have been brainwashed to believe there's something 'wrong' with them, that they require 'fixing', dooming them to fail. that the only way to heal is to contribute to the ableism and stigma, to label themselves as evil and accept what a nuisance they are to society. it's just not true, and i refuse to believe we can't facilitate spaces for these 'scary' individuals, myself included, to heal and take responsibility in a positive way that benefits everyone, where blame isn't misplaced and trauma doesn't go undervalued. where people can learn that we're not so scary, but vastly misunderstood and misrepresented.
this blog does not support the ideology of 'narcissistic abuse', nor the placing of any disorder in front of 'abuse'. this is ableism. please read this short, non-accusatory, self-helping article to understand why. this is also another article, written by a professional, to help understand. emotional abuse, or just 'abuse' is adequate enough; i do not condone the besmirching and generalisation of an entire community in favour of misplaced and unaddressed trauma. hopefully you'll give this blog a chance, maybe even help me add to it. if not? that's okay. i'm not here to tell you what you can and can't do, but if you decide to follow the resources posted here i can promise that you'll be helping make a corner of the world safer for us. change really does start with you. and if you're asking why bother? does it even matter? read this post again.

lore of psychopomp?
Tumblr media
(what this doesn't show is that, because I used plexicon, I also got all pearls from vanilla and all those modded regions. and all echoes!) (don't mind that kill count too much either. that only counts survived cycles; I killed way more than this)
tl;dr; despite trying to separate itself from the world entirely, enough to kill indiscriminately without even thinking about it, having one single driving goal is Bad For Your Karma. tl;dr;tl;dr; reach heaven through violence, but fuck it up anyway.
The long version is kind of a hard tale to talk about, though, because it's been looping over itself for a long while. Psychopomp was originally just a fun skin I used for playing hunter, when I was first getting into modded hunter. It was a merge of echocat and the vordt, actually, the former of which ended up influencing a lot of the plot thoughts I had going forward. Vulture masks, especially king vulture masks, for the bonus lizard fear time, quickly become my favourite item. I carry them everywhere.
Tumblr media
Time passes. I don't play modded for a while, I wipe my game and re-mod it from the ground up. I want to play modded hunter--but, specifically, I want to play through a lot of regions, especially some that I'd never played before, like Aether Ridge. And that's when the Psychopomp run begins. The goal I set for the run was to get all echoes and all pearls, to force myself to thoroughly explore regions instead of just running through. For smaller regions, I'd even try to fully light up the map. Psychopomp is as much of a wanderer as any slugcat can get, and obtaining the full passage--to see everything the world has to offer--is their main goal. Meeting echoes (hence the name) and reading pearls are bonuses. For this run, instead of using Fancy Slugcats, I used Colourfoot. It was mostly because I didn't want to deal with sprites, but it had the effect of, instead of being an echoed, warped thing, Psychopomp was still a living breathing slugcat.
Tumblr media
Time passes. I play off and on for months. A single slugcat, no matter how good at travelling and obliterating lizards, can only go so fast. Despite killing so often, it's detached from the action. Violence weighs on a person, and that weight will tie you to the Cycle--but if it doesn't weigh on you, you could kill anything and have no burden. It's about the thought that goes into the action just as much as the action itself. Every other passage goes the same way. I take my regions from easiest to hardest, and depending on what's nearby. This leaves the two largest regions, Aether Ridge and Oceanic Aqueducts, which are both in Sky Islands, for last.
Time passes. I spend a small lifetime tracking down every pearl, and figuring out unique ways of getting white pearls. A region, Scrapped Peaks, utterly broke every white pearl in the game. Any white pearl not newly spawned in (so ones placed manually, as opposed to treasury and dropwig pearls) will be transformed into one of Scrapped Peaks' pearls. Psychopomp is haunted by this awful cursed "fluora pearl". Aether Ridge and Aqueducts take several years off of my lifespan. Psychopomp's too, because these regions should be the last pips needed for Wanderer--there is still one pip left. I wander around the map more, checking regions I wasn't sure if I remembered visiting or not. The pip remains. I visit Subterranean; the pip remains. I give up. Psychopomp decides that the last pip must be from the Void Sea itself, and makes the trek down.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I carry the vulture mask with me into the Sea anyway, because even though it was a burden throughout Filtration System, I am deeply attached to it. I never use my left hand slot for anything else, because I never put down the mask. It's as much a part of Psychopomp as their face is. It was not, in fact, the last pip. It wasn't the end of my bugs, either, because after Taxi (the worm) drags me down to the last section of the Sea, where the clones spawn and you swim towards the slight, my game freezes entirely. Psychopomp sits motionless in the empty black void. I restart the cycle, and ascend again. Same bug. Every time the other slugcats try to spawn in, it freezes. Even though Psychopomp had already been decided to be echoed before this run even started, this solidified it for me. I felt like I had actually been echoed, stuck right at the very teetering edge of Ascension. That one single pip, that uncompleted passage wheel, preventing me from finishing the run--its existence. (I only got that end screen screenshot because I installed devtools, and dragged myself to the light before any other slugcats could spawn in and freeze the game. It's entirely unlegit, unlike the rest of the run, where I didn't even have it installed)
An ancient's echo is forced into one place, stuck monologuing to themselves--literally echoing. A slugcat wouldn't monologue, though, and the echo of their actions wouldn't be only in one place. Instead, Psychopomp's ghost, the restless remnants of what the Void Sea couldn't dissolve, spends eternity wandering after that final pip. No pearl will be enough, no region mapped completely. But, maybe, just past that gate--or over that building, or up past that tower, or

Hello!!
I had a quick art question if you don’t mind! So, I notice that your really good at drawing full bodies! They always look really flowy and the way you draw body language is so amazing! I was wondering if you had any tips for making drawings look not so stiff and also what you studied to get better at anatomy?
Thank you so much! I love your page and your art so much ♥️
hello!!! thank you so much for your message and i'll try to answer this to the best of my ability-- i don't consider anatomy my strong suit at all, but i'm very flattered you think the way i draw full bodies is nice T__T!
this got a little long so i'll leave it below the read more.
i'm not very good at studying For art in general, but i do use reference whenever i can't figure out a pose properly, usually through the 3d model that csp offers. if not csp, there's always online 3d models too that can be moved around and stuff to help pinpoint the joints and general look of a body. i also just google hyper specific phrasing and usually a stockphoto exists out there of what i'm looking for. when i get the reference once down, it usually helps me learn the pose better so i'll be able to draw it without reference in the future!
i've done my fair share of figure studies also, it helps train instincts when drawing the body and help giving a sense of what feels right in the anatomy. and when doing figure studies, it's good to have a goal in mind of what one might want to focus on; if you want to get better at drawing arms, then you focus on drawing arms! if you want to get better at gesture, then full body figure studies by looking at the curves of the body! imo, getting it down to specifics and taking it a step at a time makes it easier to learn. i think it's helpful especially when you are in the middle of a piece and is trying to get the anatomy down accurately. it's a pain in the ass because it can feel like a detour from your piece, but it's also motivation and a good way of applying what you learn immediately!
it's been AWHILE since i last done a figure study though, but i highly recommend it if improvement feels static in the anatomy department! if anything, it's good for loosening up too, which helps makes poses not stiff.
i think the way i compensate with not being super accurate with anatomy/lose stiffness also is by focusing on what kind of feeling i want to deliver through a person's pose? i try to consider why a person is posed a certain way; thinking why their arm might be slack on their side instead of lifted, why their legs are straight instead of bent, why their head might be tilted, and stuff like that... and to consider the emotions of the person behind the body and the overall piece too, whether they're happy or bored or tired or energetic; whether it's intimate, hateful, fear, etc, it can all lend itself to the body language and give a more emotional push to what's drawn. fear to me is tightness, restrained, and strong so the pose itself ends up reflecting that. intimate is curves, loops, flowy to me. so i think it's something to consider when drawing bodies, just thinking about what the pose itself is meant to accomplish aside from just posing!
Tumblr media
i haven't posted this one on tumblr yet but i think this is one of my better latest examples??? my main goal was just to get the teether in and have weight to wolfwood's body against vash's via the head against shoulder and stumble. clumsy vs surprised and i wanted the hold around vash's body to have a light grip to it too and the overall atmosphere to feel confused and intimate. those were the main things i want to get out in that piece in terms of body language and anatomical accuracy ends up being a forethought. once i have the gestures and intent out through sketch, then i focus on the anatomy and try to figure out what looks off. looking at refs or using a 3d model or even acting out the pose yourself tends to help a lot at this step, as i mentioned prior!
that's just the kind of stuff that i tend to consider when i'm drawing bodies!! in the end, when i do art, i just try to go by feeling after a certain point of learning some technical stuff DGMKSDGM what Feels right may end up being right, even if it isn't accurate... but doing studies is unfortunately the best way of learning to hone those instincts so that you could convey the feelings better and in a more concrete, sensible way, that could be empathetic to those who see it.
i'm sorry if this was just a blabber of nonsense or maybe i was just pointing out some Very blatant things--- i'm still learning lots about anatomy myself right now, so i'm not the best teacher but nonetheless, i hope it was resourceful or helpful in one way or another!

Omg !! Thank you thank you thank you!! For answering! You are such an Angel!😭🩷🩷! When I ask most girls, they don’t reply 😭! So thank you so much!
I have an okay butt! But only due to genetics too🥲(thank you family 🫶🏾) ! But lately, it’s been looking a little less firm. So I’ve been working out since august of last year! And finally! I’m seeing some progress! Barely you know. It’s taken me on such a roller coaster of emotions and self doubt if I should even go to the gym 😭 but thank goodness I did not give up! I’ve been waking up at 5 am to go!! Changing my eating habits, and eating less processed foods/ incorporating a bit of protein! And it’s finally paying off 😭!
So! When I stumbled upon your blog and absolutely wow! You are beyond inspiring! You are so pretty!😭🩷. (Please I’m not a creep, I swear they’re compliments 😭) like your cake is so firm and perky, and lifted! And the shape is just wow! Like my mouth dropped when I saw your pictures! You are so so beautiful! ✨.
My upper body isn’t the best either 😅🥲. But i prioritize it just because I have too😭. But I’ll incorporate more of the hip abduction/adduction, and hyperextension!! I usually avoid those because I’m so shy to use the machines 😭😂. Like I usually grab my weights and bar and go into a little corner of a room! But I’ll give them a try!💪🏼.
Same here I don’t have a fixed workout plan either! And you are absolutely so right about not seeing how far we’ve come with seeing what our body can endure. Or do workouts that used to be difficult at the beginning, but know they’ve become easier🩷 Like it just made sense to me, that I’ve been working out since august of 2023! And barely this month is where I have felt at my happiest and lightest emotionally. My body can finally keep up 😭. My body is looking different and I love how I’m changing physically 🥹.
But thank you so much for answering my ask! It means so much to me! I’m so sorry I’m like spilling my emotions here 😅. It just means a lot. And you are absolutely so nice and sweet and you look good!😁🩷
By any chance,(sorry to bother 🥲) would you mind sharing what your protein intake? 🩷 is it mostly through foods, or are you also taking a specific protein powder? 😯
No worries! I'm happy to help in any way I can 🤗
Congrats on those 8 months going to the gym!!!!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉 You should be proud of yourself for sticking with it 😊😊😊 I'm a newbie too, I've started going to the gym on September 23' 💪
I know it's hard to keep going because I felt so anxious and dumb and out of place at the beginning of this journey 🫣 so I'm happy for you and myself haha creating a habit is difficult!!!!!! 😤
I'm glad you are finally seeing progress and it's a big part of staying motivated to keep working out and eat more home cooked meals and all the healthy stuff we try to do even if we don't succeed all the time 😂
Thank you for the compliments I appreciate them 💖
Today I did some upper body workout and ugh 😩 it's always like 'am I doing enough?' because I don't feel that strong haha my goal is to do pull ups one day 🙌🙌🙌🙌
You should try those exercises, I know I'm shy too and sometimes I don't want to be in front of everyone but I suck it up and do it and to be honest I've been saying to myself that I'll try squats on the Smith machine for ages and I haven't had the courage to do it yet just to not make a fool of myself 🫣🥲 so I get it
About the protein intake I couldn't tell because the only thing I do is to be more mindful of what I eat and I try to eat a good amount of protein with every meal. But yes, I use protein powder too, sometimes I have a protein shake with some fruit or baked oats with the protein powder or with yogurt but mostly when I think that I haven't eaten that much protein or if I have had workout that day. What I've been told is that if you're trying to gain muscle you should eat around 2 grams per kilo of protein depending on your weight 🤓
(I take myprotein whey powder)
Thank you for sharing your gym story with me ☺️

How can I set long term goals when I don't know what I want to do with my life?
I'm quite good at setting short term/yearly and monthly goals, but I struggle with long term goals. I mean, it's difficult to understand what I need to do to reach my goals if I don't have any (long term) goals... if I don't know where I want to be in 2/5/10 years...
Any tips?
Hi love! Consider this perception of what it means to set a long-term goal: Long-term goals are a string of short-term goals that work together to culminate in a more nuanced or lofty outcome.
In my opinion, I believe that long-term goals should be determined based on how they positively support a certain aspect of your lifestyle, rather than designed with a strict plan in mind (at least for 5-10 year goals). As we know from the past few years, our long-term plans can easily fall through due to factors out of our control.
So, with these variables in mind, I would say you need to split your long-term goals into 2 main categories:
Evergreen Goals: These goals are fairly straightforward and rely more on an input-output method to achieve them vs. many external variables or contextual success attached to them. Examples of evergreen goals would be saving for retirement or maintaining a healthy body/weight loss/getting a certain certificate training or degree (not in a specific program, but in a general field), and acquiring items like a designer bag. You're in control of whether you put a certain amount of money into an investment portfolio, how much energy you consume in a day, and how much time you spend filling out applications/studying material. While external factors play a role, the success of these goals heavily depends on your determination, consistency, and focus. You just have to play the long game vs. the short-term game to see the results you desire.
Dynamic Goals: These goals take a lot of external factors into account and can heavily rely on many different parties to ensure you succeed. These long-term goals can be to work in a certain type of position or company, graduate with a specific degree or from a specific university/program, live in your dream home, become a successful business owner/author, etc, find a specific type of partner, etc. While self-betterment paired with consistent, strategic, and focused effort play a significant (majority) factor in these goals, you still need the stars to align for these goals to actualize in the way you currently envision them in your mind.
So, when creating long-term goals (especially dynamic goals), set these 5-10-year goals with the intention to be unrelenting about the outcome and flexible about the path to achieving them. Envision the result you desire and why that would improve your life/happiness. Then, work your way backward to the smaller milestone goals you would need to achieve. Once you get to the first major "milestone" that needs to be completed, devise creative and strategic solutions to begin working on this shorter-term goal. Make your 5-year goal into a series of 5 1-year plans. Reverse engineer to embrace the endless possibilities and potential for your success.
Hope this helps xx

Topic 3... Real vampires
For starters, vampires aren't actually called "vampires". They're called vampru and they come from a demonic past. The first man to ever summon what we now call vampires, was a man named Molach(Mo-lock). He was a warrior who soon wanted to ramble in the dark arts, specifically demon summoning and demonology. After years of studying demons and taking the necessary "precautions" to summon one, he soon brought about a spirit called a vampru. He let it go into his own body and tested the limits of what one can do. He was just like a shifter, but his power was dulled down. One ability in particular that stood out among everything else was an ability called compulsion. Btw, this isn't like the vampire diaries and you can just mind compel anyone you wish. You have to dominate their mind first in order to dominate their body and control it. Days after it resided in his body, he started to notice he wasn't himself and he couldn't control his actions. So, one night while his family was asleep, he slaughtered his wife, let other vampru spirits go into his children who later died, then killed himself when it was over. The vampru left and went into other bodies. One thing that I forgot to mention is that when a spirit leaves a host, it can leave a piece of it in you and the majority of it can still go to another body. Kind of like venom left a piece of himself and went to another body, which later become carnage. As mentioned in my last post about shape shifters, once you and the spirit become one, it'll be able to share some of its abilities with you. I.E supernatural strength, speed, healing, durability, etc. The only thing that's different from them is that their cunning and they don't just have to feed on human flesh/blood. They can feed off of any energy they come in contact with. By cunning, I mean they're able to "sweep you off your feet" and get you to do their will without you even knowing it. The end goal is always the same. Either feed on your energy which leaves you tired in the end, but you'll be alive. Or they use all of their abilities on you and eat you bit by bit. Their appearance is also different from humans and shifters alike. When they use their version of "shifting", their skin becomes lighter like a dead body, their eyes change colors, they have fangs, and they can roar. Yes, they can be in the sun, garlic makes no difference, holy water doesn't do much, and no they don't move so fast that they become a blur. Most importantly..... THEY'RE NOT IMMORTAL. Everything lives, everything dies. And if some of you are asking, yes. Shifters do beat vampru almost everytime only because of body weight and specifically on what type of beast shifter their fighting. As for their true form (as a spirit), they look more like a bald, demonic monster with very large fangs and a skinny body.

I feel like having an ED (4n0r3x14 specifically) is sort of a personality silencer...
And what I mean by that is the fact that whenever I'm reminded of why I'm losing weight, I almost view myself as an inanimate object; something to please others. I'm putting all my energy into superficial things to appeal to others while doing the bare minimum for myself. And, honestly, my personal motives for my goals cloud my judgment in those areas, and make me completely numb to anything that could be seen as controversial, or "wrong." I'm simply a tool--not something that should have its own mind.
"He doesn't like it when I..."
"He wouldn't approve of..."
"He thinks..."
"What would he do if..."
"I'm not supposed to...
"...because he doesn't like it."
"I'm not good enough for him."
"I don't deserve him."
"I'll do whatever he wants."
He wouldn't like someone who isn't perfect in the eyes of society, right? Why would someone that I adore so much and view as perfect feel the same about someone who isn't those things? He would think less of me if I weren't underweight, right? He would want to pick me up, hold me, overpower me. I need to be as fragile and perfect as possible to keep whatever affection he could possibly give someone like me, right? I'm not supposed to disobey him. If he wants me a certain way, he'll make certain that I adhere to that standard. Watching my eating habits, how much I sleep, what clothing I wear, etc. I just have to let his ideals become my existence. I'm not meant to have my own opinions. His happiness is the only thing leading me forwards in everything I do. If it pleases him, I'll do it. I don't care how inconvenient it might be for me, or others. I just want the person I love the most to receive as much care and affection as possible, even at the expense of my personality, body, life, mind, health, ect. He is the driving force. And, the funny thing is, he isn't even in my life yet. I'm preparing for someone I haven't met, and to such a drastic degree. I just feel as though aspects my soul are being slowly stripped away, and replaced with this wholehearted drive to be as perfect for him as possible. In the end, I'll most likely feel like a vague, empty shell of what I once was. Yet, I don't believe I would regret a thing...

LOVE when the girls (Batman and Superman) start to tussle. Like yes, the Bruce/Clark friends dynamic is cute and fun and they're totally a power couple, but the tension when they disagree is so good. Anyway some other commentary no one asked for: 1. Superman TAS should not have ended like that lol. We never even got to see Lois figure out who Clark was, never got to even see them together. The episodes were fine, but the show had at least another season in it. 2. The music in Justice League (animated) is so bland, I don't think it's live. I do appreciate when they play character themes though :) 3. JL S2 definitely improved over S1. The stories are more interesting, the writing is snappier, overall more fun. 4. In love w Shayera. Like actually. Like to the point where I would even get back into comics just to read her stuff fr.
The apology from Keyleth to Laudna in c3e81!!! "For... everything." I mean that's not particularly specific, but 1. it certainly sounded like it carried the weight of the Sun Tree and 2. if anyone out of VM was going to apologize for what happened to Laudna even if it technically wasn't quite their fault it was going to be Keyleth for sure. I don't know if she'd gotten a heartfelt apology from any of them before that. (Of course, this could just be me being hopeful. Keyleth/Matt totally could've not been insinuating that at all and I was just reading into things too deeply. I don't watch Talks Machina so I guess I'll never know for sure lol.)
Found a steampunk playlist on spotify and it's really just driving orchestral in peculiar time signatures, sometimes with the classic Hans Zimmer flair, but I do kind of adore it. Makes me feel very powerful. It's been several years since I was into the "epic"/"scorecore" genre and I'm enjoying it!
Really only a week left of break (how???). Still a few things I want to get done, but I've made decent progress on the goals.
Today I'm thankful that, on clear nights, I can see stars from my bedroom window. Not many of them (light pollution probably), but I can pick out Orion :) A bonus feature, along with the sunset views, I lucked into here which I've never had before.
Re:Dressing Up to Walk About -- sometimes it's more important to just get out and walk, and if putting a coat over some house clothes and a scarf around an unwashed face is the answer then so be it. Beats spending a full day inside a single room by a mile. [edit, next day: upvote, just got caught in a cute little snow flurry!]
Last thing: halfway through The Winter King. I still think the romance was rushed, but there's been a bit of sweetness added which did make me feel warm and fuzzy inside so, points for that. I think I prefer more of a.. tender loving care romance with dashes of angst rather than an angsty romance with dashes of TLC (but I also don't read much true romance at all, so (and I think that's the crux of it, this is a fantasy-romance, a romantasy if you will, and I think I'm learning that this is just not my genre? I don't mind romance (Geralt/Yennifer, Kaz/Inej, even Tress/whatshisface), but I think I prefer when it's kind of secondary to a more driving plotline (or maybe there are better romantasies out there idk))).
Lots of media talk today hehe

Just gonna give Gravity Falls' characters from the Bill Cipher wheel a soul color like in Undertale. If you don't know what the colors mean, here it is:
Red: Determination ❤️
Orange: Bravery 🧡
Yellow: Justice 💛
Green: Kindness 💚
Light blue: Patience 💙
Deep blue: Integrity 💙💜
Purple: Perseverance 💜
Okay let's get started.
• Dipper: Purple for perseverance 💜
Tumblr media
Perseverance, here, is to keep going besides whatever obstacles could get in your way. Even if your goals change, your pace doesn't. Dipper always has some kind of objective in mind, clear stuff like finding the author or more abstract things like impressing his crush or getting manlier. The truth is that, even if Dipper might doubt himself sometimes, he's always working for what he (thinks he) wants. Another considerable color in his soul could be orange, for bravery.
• Mabel: Green for kindness 💚
Tumblr media
The good old kindness, no need to explain. Mabel cares so much about everyone around her, wants them to smile and does her best for them to be happy, even if sometimes does it wrong (she's still a child after all), her intentions are nothing but the best and the kindest and she always ends up rectifying the moment she realizes she made anyone sad. A secondary color to mention might be orange as well.
• Stan: Light blue for patience 💙
Tumblr media
The needed patience, the ability to wait. Stanley has waited a lot through his life, that's no secret for anyone. Even if it took him ages, he waited and step by step worked as best as he could taking the needed time and never gave up. Even if it might not seem like it, he has an easy character towards those he cares about (that was lost when Ford came back and Stan got his last straw, but let's ignore that) and... he's just actually very patient with them, specially the kids but Soos and Wendy too since he rarely gets really annoyed by any of them, something I didn't realize until I tried to align him with any of the soul colors and found out that this... is the one trait that fits him; I literally couldn't fit him under any other color.
• Ford: Red for determination ❤️
Tumblr media
Determination (sigh). Undertale players can feel this word's weight. You have an objective in mind for the long run and you won't let it go until you reach it. That's literally Ford Pines, the guy who worked half of his life to accomplish a successful scientific career and fame, and the other half to destroy a specific yellow triangle. Ford's eyes will focus on a goal and he won't stop until he makes it. A secondary color might be orange, cause he is almost too brave. Also maybe yellow, for his strong-but-not-always-accurate sense of justice, but I wouldn't consider that one as much.
• Soos: Deep blue for integrity 💜💙
Tumblr media
He has a moral conscience, and stays loyal to the truth and to himself. Soos might seem a green type of person, but he won't hesitate when telling you a hurtful truth, but still a truth that needs to be said. He won't be anything but himself even if he's not perfect, without ever needing to perjudicate anyone. He is sincere, trustworthy, and a great person, who stayed loyal to Stan but then to the kids the moment they showed him he was hiding something to all of them. Definitely a soul of integrity. Another color to be considered might be light blue, for patience, or orange again. These guys are really brave, let me tell ya.
• Wendy: Orange for bravery 🧡
Tumblr media
Could I make it more obvious? Wendy doesn't really try to get in dangerous places, but she never runs away from them. It is revealed in the Society of the Blind Eye episode that she is always stressed inside, which is a poorexcuseforcharacterdevelopment but anyway, she lives with a deep fear but is able and willing to get over it and face situations without letting it control her, and that is actually what bravery is rather than jumping to danger like an idiot. Another color to be considered might be green, since she's actually pretty kind as shown in the series.
• Gideon: Purple for perseverance 💜
Tumblr media
An interesting aspect of the show is all the parallelisms between Gideon and Dipper, like both having a crush on an older girl or both getting a journal and more stuff I don't remember but I read that analysis somewhere, and you get me. It was also interesting for both to have the same soul color along with the possibility of orange. Gideon... keeps it going. He's always planning something to get away with his whims, doesn't matter if it's stealing the Mistery Shack or a deck chair. Gideon's vision and wantings might change, but like Dipper, his pace never does.
• Fiddleford: Green for kindness 💚
Tumblr media
At first, i put Fiddleford here just because he couldn't fit any other color, but I realized green is actually perfect for him. I'm talking mostly about when he was sane since I don't think his attitude during most of the series should be considered to judge his real personality. He seemed a nice person and dedicated to others with things like writing a whole tesis for Ford, giving him a laptop or a pumpkin that "looked like him", and the way Ford described him talking about family and stuff, also he seems to love children by the end of Gravity Falls when he recovered his memories, his vibe just seems very kind by nature. I haven't read the journal for a while so I don't remember a lot, but definitely, green is his color. Mostly because he literally just can't fit under any other and I'm not joking this time.
• Pacifica: Yellow for justice 💛 (Why is there not a yellow text option?)
Tumblr media
Am I judging her whole character because of one scene? Yes. Do I think I'm right? ... not really. The first time she stopped her parents' influence, she did it with an act of justice. She let the town people into the party, she did what was fair. Yes, it was because there was a ghost threatening to kill everyone if not, but I think there's a meaning behind her first... true action being something fair. Well, she cheated in the singing contest, but honestly, I'm having trouble here giving Pacifica a color. Her parents' bad influence made her a completely different person than what she really is inside, so her soul color might be actually anything, but I personally believe yellow is the one.
• Robbie:
Tumblr media
....
....
Who is Robbie?
No, really. I have no idea what to give him. Maybe perseverance? Because of his search for ✨love✨? Idk man. Not kindness, nor patience, nor bravery (maybe? Nahh... Maybe? Naahhh), nor justice (i mean what justice yk), nor integrity, and I laugh at the idea of giving him a determination soul. Could you imagine? (Probably only Undetale fans will get me here but come on).
Though that would actually be hilarious.
Anyway I hope you liked this... something. I love Undertale and a crossover with Gravity Falls would be SO fun and I couldn't get this out of my head, so... yeah. Tell me if you think I'm wrong about any of these and why, I'd like it tho probably no one will read this but I will be happy anyway.
Also I forgot but Bill's is Determination, if he even has a soul, much less a human soul. His magic could be red tho, like the monsters with colored magic instead of colored souls.

Here is a question I have: when people criticize an aspect of your appearance (specifically something less under your control, like body weight, shape of boobs, acne or hair texture) what is their goal? Like what do they expect the follow up to be?
You could argue that somewhere inside they have a fucked up perception of the world wherein they believe they are helping you notice something you may not have noticed yourself so that you can try to correct it. Anyone with a normal brain knows that this is not helpful at all, but MAYBE they believe it, right?
Well, the only aspect of my appearance I ever perceived negatively was my acne prone skin. So all my adult life I wore heavy makeup to cover it. However many times the acne was so inflamed it was still noticeable through the makeup. And STILL, many times people commented on it to me. If we actually take to heart that these people do it to help, what the fuck else can I do about it when I'm already wearing heavy layers of foundation? That was when it became clear to me that was never their goal at all. What is the goal then? What the fuck can they possibly expect to achieve from it? The only conclusion I can ever reach is that they do so maliciously, they want to make sure You know They noticed an aspect they perceive negatively. Maybe in an attempt to gain some psychological power over you? I don't know, back on the day I used to swallow a sob and say "yes I know" and then sit as far from them as possible in the situation trying to hide my face as much as possible from everyone.
Now a days my skin is not a problem anymore (thanks isotretinoin). So people comment on other things that I myself don't perceive negatively at all, like my graying hair, small boobs and unshaved armpits. So when any of it is pointed out to me I get to say "thanks for noticing, it's really cute and I love it!" Which turns it against them, now it's they who don't know how to respond and look silly.
Anyway, I still wonder what goes through their mind, how do they justify it internally, to themselves that this is appropriate social behaviour?
