Sorry for radio silence
I've noticed the blog slowing down, notes wise, so less reason to post more frequently unless I'm feeling it.
Currently just working on my Kelsier essay. Had a fictional conversation with Brandon today while driving to work about asking him to include some people with a cluster-B personality disorder.
I feel us Cluster-Bs have a very raw deal with life. So many people think we're evil, horrible people because we have a disorder that involves manipulation and other toxic behaviors. Like yes. I can be toxic. Hell, I was incredibly toxic when I was younger. But now? I know what is the result of my borderline. I recognize it. I can stop it in its tracks, uno reverse, and hell, I've improved immensely. Same can be said for Narcisstic Personality Disorder, Histrionic and Anti-Social.
I think Brandon should include a morally GOOD character who suffers from one of these disorders, as a way to open the way for people to understand we're not bad people just because we have an incurable illness of the brain.

"Wow, you're so self-aware! It takes most people years of therapy and dedication to get to that point." Thanks, I constantly feel completely disconnected from my physical being and the material sensation of my body, brain, and spirit/soul is so overwhelming that I often have to see myself as an objective third-party instead of an integrated entity. Father son holy spirit and all that.

That chronic illness feeling where you don't want to die soon, but the idea of spending another 60 or so years in this body makes you want to scream.

one thing that i'll never understand is that when like autistic people mask they're not trying to deceive anyone and it's sad they've been forced to mask because of social pressures (obviously) but when people with personality disorders mask they're automatically trying to "manipulate" everyone around them so that they can "abuse" them and "trick" them ??? like what

you know. i wish more people were open about PDs. i wish more people joked about it and just popped it into a convo all casually. i wish it was accepted, i wish i could just mention it and then keep going without people never looking at me the same way again. i wish PDs were treated like how anxiety is. how, for the most part, i can casually mention it and people would laugh and relate, i wish all my disorders were treated like that

Hi! Someone with ASPD here! Just wanted to say: having ASPD is not synonymous with being a villain! I can function as a nice, normal member of society, although it does take a lot of effort and therapy. Having a personality disorder is not a bad thing! It does not stop you from being a good person! And also psychopathy and sociopathy are different aspects of ASPD. Just wanted to let you know! <3 I'm always available if you wanted to talk more on this subject <3
Hi! I know. Check my other posts. I'm not at all trying to say that people with ASPD are bad people, moreover, I'm trying to refute Brandon's words, along with other people who are nasty towards him because of Brandon's 2013 WoB.
Because Kelsier does NOT have an ASPD, so Brandon labeling him a psychopath is wrong, regardless if it makes him a good or bad person.
I also have a personality disorder; I have BPD, and I'm labeled as a horrible person, and have been labeled, all my life. I'm beginning to believe them all.

list of symptoms for personality disorders (many disorders in general) are the absolute worst because, since PDs are so stigmatized, they're almost always like
signs you have x personality disorder😊 :
you are satan himself
you have killed 23 people
god doesn't love you

"I'm fascinated with people's comments about Helen, too. Everyone talks about, 'Oh, she's dramatic, she's a mess, she's this,' and I'm like, 'Naaah'. There's a little bit more going on, but it's the 80s, so no one's gonna talk about that either. No one's gonna help, no one's gonna protect, no one's gonna save." Anna Torv [x]
