disaster strikes and you and Spencer try to take custody of your younger sister
who? spencer reid x fem!reader category: angst content warnings: actually might be gn! but i'm too scared to say it is. death, orphan-ing, funerals, child custody issues, blood, general cm violence, like actually an abhorrent amount of death. sorry i killed your parents for the sake of my fanfiction can we still be friends? word count: 3.33k a/n: this is the fic that this post is about. i am in fact my own worst enemy. i hope y'all like it actually genuinely i am most definitely overthinking this. if your name is maya im sorry that sucks.
Tumblr media
“What did your parents say?” Spencer asked, walking into the conference room that the local precinct had offered to you.
You had been staring blankly at your phone since you got off the call with your mother, “Uh, they said thanks, but no thanks.”
The uneasy feeling had settled in your stomach as soon as you found out the team was being called to your hometown, and you had been nauseous ever since you found out the UnSub’s pattern.
Married couples with an older child who had moved out and a younger child who was still at home.
Your little sister was a surprise, you had incorrectly assumed your parents were done having kids.
Until today, you wouldn’t have traded Maya for the world, but now you sat in fear of your family being targeted by a serial killer. Hotch had offered them a protective detail, but they declined. Self-righteous as they were, they told you it wouldn’t feel right for them to accept help that couldn’t be offered to everyone.
Clenching your jaw, you stood at the table, “I’ll go by later and check in on them.”
Spencer had met your family twice by now. Last Christmas he had tagged along to meet them and celebrate with your family before the two of you spent New Year’s with his mom. Then, while your sister was on Spring Break, they flew out to Virginia, and you and Spencer had shown your family around Quantico and the District.
Maya had loved Spencer, partially because you loved him, but mostly because of his magic tricks.
“Do you want me to go with you?” He asked, stepping up next to you and placing a hand on the small of your back.
You sighed and shook your head, “No, not if you’re needed here.” You reached up and cupped his cheek, smiling softly, “Thank you for offering, Spence.”
He nodded affirmatively, “If you change your mind,” he offered. Gently, he pressed a soft kiss to your forehead before the two of you returned to the rest of the team.
The fact that your parents lived only five minutes from the police station gave you some relief, but you still felt tightly wound. Everyone had noticed. You just needed this case to be over.
The porch lights were on when you got there, and you used your house key – which you had never taken off of your keychain - to open the front door. “Hey, kiddo,” your dad greeted from the couch. A peek into the kitchen showed you that your mom was wiping down the counters. It all felt so eerily normal.
It was dark by the time you had gotten there. Maya was already asleep, but you tip-toed into her room anyway and kissed her goodnight before going back downstairs. Once you had hugged both of your parents and told them you loved them, you made your way back to the police precinct.
By nearly three in the morning, there was no new information, and the team was starting to consider calling it a night until the police chief got a call.
“We just got a call. Lady reported shouts coming from her neighbor’s house at 86 Meadowbrook,” he informed you, putting his hands on his hips and looking around at the team.
None of them even spared him a returning glance, everyone’s eyes were on you.
Blinking rapidly, you nodded assuredly, “I have to go get Maya.” You didn’t even recognize your voice even as you said it. It couldn’t have been your voice. That was the rasp of someone far away from you.
All of the other voices around you were muffled, you couldn’t hear what people were telling you, let alone understand them.
Maya. Maya. Maya.
Brown eyes. There they were, right in front of your face. “Let’s go get her,” Spencer whispered.
You had been speaking out loud. Repeating your sister’s name like a prayer without even realizing it.
Hotch let you go with them, but he made it abundantly clear to you – and the rest of the team – that you weren’t working this case anymore.
Surrounded by reverent voices in an SUV, JJ drove while Spencer stayed in the back with you. He held your hand tightly in his.
The house was closed off with police tape. Bright yellow plastic fluttered in the wind as you watched your team and other emergency personnel enter and exit. At your insistence, Spencer went in to get Maya, it felt like it had been hours before he walked out, carrying her in his arms.
Carefully, he brought her to you, and you pulled her close to your chest, blocking her eyesight as two body bags were brought out of the house.
You didn’t hear anything after that. You just let yourself be moved to wherever you needed to be, holding your kid sister as she cried for your parents.
They had to take their bodies to the hospital even though they were already gone, and you needed to be the one to confirm their identities. Spencer stayed with Maya while you were busy. She had cried herself to the point of exhaustion, you were grateful that she was sleeping, and then you felt cruel.
By sunrise, she was still asleep, and you had been set up in that same conference room from earlier. Sitting across from you was a social worker, a representative of the state. Your lips had parted in shock as you looked at her, “What do you mean they denied my request?”
In an attempt to be helpful, JJ worked with you to file an emergency request for custody of Maya, and the case worker had just told you that the request was denied. “The state doesn’t believe your request is valid,” she told you.
Your mouth went dry, “I don’t…” you glanced over at your little sister. “Our parents were murdered last night, and they won’t let me take custody of my sister?” You asked indignantly, peering at the social worker. It wasn’t her fault, somewhere in your grief-ridden brain you knew that, but you couldn’t help the feeling that she was somehow your enemy.
“They don’t believe you can provide her with a stable living environment,” the social worker, Brittany, explained.
Narrowing your eyes, you responded, “A stable living environment like a foster home? I’m her sister. We’re family – the only family each other has left.” You stood up, excusing yourself for a moment before walking out of the precinct. Once you were outside, you promptly hurled into the bushes.
That was how he found you, to the side of the building with your hair haphazardly moved out of your face, dry heaving into the shrubbery. Gently, Spencer placed a hand on your back before starting to rub small circles on your back, “You should eat something, love.”
You just shook your head in response, you weren’t hungry. “They won’t let me take her,” you whispered morosely, straightening up, you kept your back facing him.
“What?” He asked, his hand abruptly stopping its movement on your back.
Taking a deep breath and sitting on the curb, you looked up at Spencer. “The state thinks I’m not stable enough to take her in,” you said, resting your chin in your hands.
Your boyfriend crouched down so that he could sit next to you, “Are you going to challenge it?”
“Of course I am,” you cried. “But what happens to her in the interim, Spence? She gets placed with whatever foster home here and I go back to Virginia? I see her when the family court resolves this in two years?”
Treading carefully, Spencer cleared his throat, “What are you going to do?”
Defeated, you shrugged. “I don’t know. I’m…” your voice trailed off. “My parents are dead, Spencer,” you murmured softly, tears welling in your eyes.
He reached out and wrapped his arms around you, “I know, darling. I know. I’m so sorry.”
“I don’t think I can do this alone,” you whispered, leaning gently into him.
Spencer turned to kiss your temple, “It’s a good thing you’re not alone then. I’m not going anywhere.” He waited for a moment before continuing, “Give me something to do. Give me a job to take off of your shoulders.”
In the end, you let Spencer take over funeral planning. He thanked you for trusting him before the both of you went back into the precinct.
Tumblr media
You had just hung up with a family lawyer who had offered to take your case, letting your phone drop to the floor, you let your arms hang at your side. Someone had taken Maya to get breakfast while you spoke with the lawyer.
At the sound of the phone falling to the floor, Spencer stepped into the conference room, letting the door click shut before him. “Hey, what did he say?”
Pressing the heels of your palms into your eyes, you took in a deep breath, “Um, he said he’d be willing to take the case if I could put together a case plan to present before the judge.”
Before that phone call, you didn’t know what a case plan was, you could’ve gone your whole life without knowing what a case plan was.
“I need a year-long plan for how I’m going to prepare to have Maya in my custody, but he said a year is the best he can do,” you said, staring blankly at the wall ahead of you. “A year?” You whispered aimlessly, “I’m not waiting a fucking year to take custody of her. I have to take her home, Spence. I have to.” It wasn’t your intention to snipe at him, but you felt like you couldn’t help yourself.
The events of the last twelve hours threatened to take you down, but you had to stay strong for Maya.
Taking a shaky breath, you looked up at Spencer, “Why is it that every time I convince myself that it’s going to be okay, I get tossed to the ground again?” You asked him.
Maybe because you weren’t fully convinced. Maybe it was because it had only been seven hours. You needed to remind yourself of that.
“She’s a ward of the state?” Spencer asked for clarification, holding you tightly.
Nodding absentmindedly, you rested your head on his shoulder as he swayed gently. “She can stay with me until after the funeral, and after that, she has to go with the social worker.”
The sad look on Spencer’s face told you that he was running out of ideas, and you were coming to the very same conclusion. “We could get married,” he offered.
“Stop, Spence,” you said, shaking your head. You couldn’t believe this was where he was going.
He shrugged helplessly, “I’m serious, Y/N. If we get married, they might think we’re stable, as a couple. They might give us custody.”
Your shoulders slumped, “I don’t want to get married just to get custody of my sister.” It certainly wasn’t that you didn’t want to marry Spencer, just not like this.
He nodded understandingly, “I know, but I’m just saying. If that’s what it takes, then I’ll do it.” Placing a comforting hand on your knee, the two of you sat in silence for a moment. “Do you have any ideas?” He asked you carefully.
Looking through the blinds of the conference room, you saw the rest of the team coming back to the precinct. Setting your jaw, you nodded, “I might.”
Opening the door, you had Maya go in with Spencer while you approached your Unit Chief. “Hey,” Hotch said, a glint of sympathy in his eyes. “How are you holding up?” He pulled you away from the people, wanting to give you privacy.
This wasn’t fair, they were still working on an active case. A case that was disturbingly close to you, and yet, you felt you were out of options. “I need a favor,” you blurted to him, wringing your hands. Your nervous energy made it impossible for you to stay still.
Hotch nodded, “What do you need?” He asked, studying your composure with the eye of a profiler.
You took a deep breath, “I was… I need you to call in a favor with someone. Anyone, really. The state won’t let me take custody of Maya, but I can’t let her become a ward of the state. Not when I’m right here, ready, willing, and able to take her.”
“Okay,” he responded, not even pausing to think about it.
Taken aback, you looked at him curiously, “I- that’s it? I had groveling prepared.”
He nodded almost imperceptibly as if he was trying to tell you it wasn’t necessary. “You’ve been a part of this team for years and not once have you ever asked for anything in return for everything you do for everyone else. This is the least I can do,” he told you.
You couldn’t help it. Overwhelmed, you tackled Hotch in a bear hug, “Thank you.” Your voice was low, “Thank you so much.”
Succinctly, Hotch hugged you back before you pulled away, “I’ll go make some calls.”
Tumblr media
It was the smell.
The smell that you’d sensed countless times before on the job, the metallic tang of the blood. It should’ve been mostly dried by now – you supposed you were more susceptible to the scent, considering it was your parent’s blood, but it put you on high alert.
Emily had brought you by so that you could pack a bag for Maya, but you found yourself stuck on the landing. To one side, there was your childhood bedroom and Maya’s room. On the other side, there was your parent’s room.
“Y/N?” Emily called your name from downstairs, “Are you alright?”
No, you wanted to say, but you bit your tongue, scanning the house you had grown up in. “This doesn’t belong here,” you told her, glancing behind you as she made her way up the staircase.
You didn’t have gloves, so instead you pointed at the figurine that was resting on the bookshelves, a little bear facing in the direction of your parent’s bedroom door. “This is in the wrong spot?”
Nodding, your eyes followed the ceramic bear as Emily picked it up with a gloved hand. “It’s mine, it should be in my room,” you informed her. Your parents never changed anything about your childhood bedroom, not since you moved out. “It was like it was watching them,” you thought aloud.
“Do you think the UnSub did it?” She asked you gently, her voice was low but steady.
Blinking rapidly, you kept your eyes focused on the figurine, “Little Bear,” you murmured, “They called her Little Bear.”
Emily shook her head in confusion, dark hair swaying as her head moved. “Who was called Little Bear?”
Dropping the bag you had packed to the floor, you buried your face in your hands, “I should’ve seen it sooner.” The victimology, it all suddenly made sense to you. “When I was a kid, there was a family like mine. A brother who was in his twenties when his parents had another baby, a girl. They called her Little Bear.”
Realization dawned on Emily’s dark features, “Like this bear?”
You picked up the bag and started making your way back down the stairs. “Their mother made those figurines. The parents died in a fire two weeks ago – they left everything to the younger sister. It was all over the news. God, I should’ve figured it out sooner.”
“Hey,” Emily said sympathetically, “You had other things going on. None of this was your fault.” Her voice was stern, harsher than you’d ever heard her, as she pulled out her phone and called the team.
Your teammate drove, passing the police station on the way to drop you off. They left for the takedown, and you felt yourself floating into the precinct. Maya was waiting in the conference room for you, watching cartoons on someone’s laptop.
Kneeling in front of your little sister, you tapped the space bar, pausing the video. “Hey, kiddo,” you whispered, reaching over, and smoothing her hair away from her face. “How are you feeling?”
She had cried herself to sleep earlier, and you felt like you hadn’t been around enough. Maya sat up on the couch and rubbed her eyes, they were red, but not teary. “I miss mommy,” she told you, pouting slightly.
You nodded gently, moving to sit next to her before you pulled her into your lap. At six years old, she was all gangly limbs, just starting to grow into her own person. Just old enough to understand death, “I know, baby. I miss them too.”
“They wouldn’t lemme go home,” she continued, leaning her head on your shoulder. “I wanted Thumper,” she whined, sounding younger than she was.
Looking up at the light, you silently begged for your tears to go away. “I got him for you,” you told her, reaching into your bag and producing the small stuffed bunny that you had given her as a baby.
You savored the way her eyes lit up as she grabbed the stuffed animal from you.
“So, you and Thumper are gonna come to stay with me in Virginia. Do you remember going there? You said you liked it?” You kept smoothing her hair back as she held her toy.
She was silent for a moment, “Will Spencer be there?” She asked quietly.
Smiling slightly, you nodded, “He and I live together, so he’ll be there with us.” Slowly, you started rocking back and forth, trying to soothe the both of you simultaneously.
“As long as he doesn’t pull money out of my ear,” she answered succinctly, shutting her eyes as she leaned up against you.
There was approximately an hour before you watched the team return to the precinct, slowly, you laid Maya down on the couch before walking out. “It was a clean shoot,” you heard Rossi tell Morgan, and one look at the rest of them told you everything you needed to know.
The team went back to the hotel, and Spencer filled you in on the funeral arrangements he had made on your behalf. You were about to try to get some sleep when Hotch approached you and told you he needed to speak to you.
“I called a good friend of mine on your behalf, and he gave me some information. We were able to work out a plan,” he told you, sitting across from you in the hotel lobby.
You were about to tell him that a case plan wouldn’t work, but he held his hand out, telling you to wait.
He nodded before he kept going, “He was able to file an emergency request to grant you temporary custody of Maya, and it was granted.”
You felt sick to your stomach, “She’s mine?”
“Temporarily, you’ll have to take care of some formalities back in Virginia, but you have full custody of her,” he informed you. “You’re being granted family leave, and I’ve encouraged Reid to apply for it as well,” Hotch told you, reaching out and placing a hand on your shoulder. “I am… I’m sorry that you’ve had to go through this but thank you for coming to me when you needed the help.”
You nodded absentmindedly, your head still whirling with the information that you had just been given. Stumbling, you walked back to your hotel room that you were sharing with Spencer and Maya.
The funeral was planned, the custody issue was solved, all there was left to do was…
“Baby?” Spencer said softly as you swung open the door, “Everyone else took Maya to get ice cream, I figured it couldn’t-“ his voice broke off at your first sob.
Everything you had held in came bursting out, all of the grief and stress and exhaustion nearly knocked your legs out from underneath you.
But Spencer was there to catch you.

Three Cycles Later
Din
Din sinks into his kitchen chair late at night, the exhaustion of the day hitting him all at once. He takes off his helmet and rests his head in his hands. This house is a skeleton of what it once was; a safe haven for you and him. Now it’s just empty and cold, all of the joy sucked out of it. He never bothered to properly furnish it. He just assumed that you’d help him with that, but of course, you never got the opportunity. So his house is stuck in the past, a mirror image of what it was like when you first stepped foot inside.
Ever since he and May separated he’s been living at his house on Nevarro full time. He works for the Bounty Hunters Guild to support himself, and also Grogu whom he has partial custody of. But… he’s struggling. He’s struggling with addiction, drinking away the pain late at night. It never fully works. The pain of losing you and his creed never disappears, it’s always in the back of his mind. So he drinks more and more, hoping that one day he’ll finally drink enough to chase away how he feels inside. He’s chasing a high that he’s never even had. It doesn’t help that his choice of beverage, Kowakian rum, causes the worst hangovers. He wakes up every morning practically unable to move from his bed, the bed that smelled like you when he got back here after your breakup. It’s wearing down his body to the point where he’s not what he used to be. He’s slower and stiffer, his body aching with every move he makes. It’s affected everything in his life, which isn’t much to begin with. It’s harder for him to go after bounties with the same speed and determination he used to have. when he comes home, it takes twice as long for his body to recover. When he has Grogu, he finds himself unable to keep up with him, the young child’s energy wearing down his father’s body more so than it already is. The truth is… Din’s in pain at every single waking moment, mentally and physically.
This physical toll on his body affects his performance at the Guild too. He’s unable to take as many jobs back to back, needing more and more recovery between them. And if a job seems like it’ll be too strenuous for him, he can’t take it, making the jobs he can choose from slim pickings. So on top of struggling mentally and physically, he’s struggling financially, too. He never thought for a second he would end up like this.
Does he regret it? Does he regret cheating on May with you? It’s hard to tell. You were the greatest love he’s ever known and part of him finds solace in the fact that he got to know that love for a fleeting moment. But on the other hand that same love cost him everything and sent him on a downward spiral though.
He is the only person to blame for all this.
-
“This is the only job I have and… I think you need to take it. Rent is due on your house and you’re behind,” Karga says, sliding a tracking fob across the table toward Din.
He takes a deep breath, grabbing the tracking fob with a gloved hand. He squeezes it and says, “Fine.”
“It’s on Naboo and I know for some reason you won’t go there but… I think it’s in your best interest.”
“Right,” Din says, choking back a gulp.
He rises from the booth, his joints stiff and achy. It takes him a second to situate himself before he can walk again. Karga notices and looks at him with concerned eyes, noticing how his friend used to be so strong and capable but has turned into a shell of who he once was. Din walks away, a limp in his step, and once he’s gone Karga lets out a sigh, as if he was holding his breath. Karga’s eyes are fixed on Din as he walks out of the Guild, feeling nothing but pity deep in his gut.
Din decides he’ll go to Naboo in the morning. He needs a good night's rest. This bounty is located in Theed and he’s feeling a weird mix of dread and hopefulness about going there. Part of him wants to see you. Maker, thinks about you all the time, what you’re doing now, and who you’re with. He wonders if you finally left Naboo and moved somewhere else like you always wanted.
But if he does see you he wonders what you’ll think of him, if you’ll see his weathered stare and think he’s pathetic. The rational part of him knows you wouldn’t, you’re too kind, too caring. But the mean, self-conscious part of him tells him that you’ll be disgusted with how he’s let himself go.
He’ll decide if he wants to see you or not in the morning.
-
He takes off on Nevarro and sends a transmission to May, letting her know that he’ll be picking up Grogu after he collects the bounty he’s going after. As for May, she doesn’t know whether or not to believe him. She just associates every bounty he’s gone after was code for seeing you. To this day, she’s never asked Din about you. She’s never inquired for a single detail about who you are or what you’re like. To be honest, she couldn’t care less. To her, it doesn’t matter if you’re the most perfect person in the galaxy because in her eyes Din is the only person to blame for what he did.
Din makes the journey to Naboo, parking on the outskirts of Theed like he did all those cycles ago. He’s flooded with déjà vu and for a split second he thinks he’s here to pick you up for another adventure but the limp in his step is a harsh reminder that those times are long gone. The walk into Theed takes him twice as long as usual, and the entire time dread and anticipation swirl in his stomach. He follows the direction of the tracking fob but to be completely honest, his find is focused on anything but the bounty right now.
And because his luck is terrible as always the first thing he sees as he steps onto the streets of Theed is none other than you, staring at him with an astounded expression on your face.
You
Standing before you is Din. You never thought this day would come, not after how you left him three cycles ago, running away from the Crest parked in the field. And yet here he is, walking towards you like he used to. Except he’s… different this time. You notice right away. He doesn’t have the same saunter in his step, instead, he’s slower, his body moving in a way that looks painful. What happened to him when you left?
Your heart hurts for him seeing him like this but there’s also a part of you that’s angry he never fought for you, that he never chased you. He just accepted his terrible fate and disappeared to wherever in the galaxy, probably his house on Nevarro you assumed. Maybe he knew deep down you’d never take him back, not after he messed up so badly.
“Hello, Din,” you say, putting on a fake smile.
“Hi, ca’tra,” he says, almost wincing at his words. You both remember the last time he called you that and how you told him to never do it again.
“I’m sorry. That was wrong. I-” he rambles but you cut him off.
“Don’t worry about it. How have you been?”
“I’m doing great. I’ve been super busy with jobs and taking care of my son.”
He’s lying. You know he is. But you let him continue his lie anyway.
“That’s so nice to hear, Din. How’s he doing?”
“He’s good. Still getting into trouble, of course.”
“That’s what sons do,” you say. It’s funny to share small talk with someone you once shared your hopes and desires with. It’s strange how life works like that.
“How are you? Are you still at the inn?”
“Mhm. I own it now. Del retired two cycles ago.”
“I’m proud of you, ca’tra.”
“Thanks, Din…”
The conversation hits a lull, neither of you knowing what to say. After a beat Din says, “Do you ever think about what it would be like if we were still together?”
You knew it was coming.
“Yes,” you admit because you do often think about the way things could’ve been.
“Me, too,” he says.
“But… Everything happens for a reason. And what we had… wasn’t realistic.”
“Oh,” he says defeatedly.
You’re hit with the same feeling like you had in the Razor Crest all those cycles ago where you feel like you need to flee, now. Being with him feels like drowning.
“It was nice to see you, Din. But I have to run to the inn now. You here for a bounty?”
“Yes,” he says awkwardly.
“Good luck,” you smile, reaching for his hand and squeezing it.
“Goodbye, ca’tra.”
“Goodbye, Din.”
You let go and walk down the street, feeling the glare of his visor practically burning a hole into you. You don’t dare to turn around to look and see if he’s still watching you, though. You blink back tears, trying desperately to hold yourself together. You can’t deny that you miss him, but the way things ended between you two was for the better.
The end

End note: We've made it to end for these two! Thank you all for following along and special thank you's to @wannab-urs, @ramblers-lets-get-ramblin, @noxturnalpascal, and @catchallfangirl for listening to me drone on and on about this series for the past three months. I first conceptualized this series back in the beginning of October when @wannab-urs made a typo on a fic rec post. And the rest was history. This is the first long term series (long for me okay😭) that I’ve ever completed and I’m so proud of myself for sticking with this. Thank you to whoever made it this far. I’m extremely grateful for you. 🤍🤍
But of course I’m never done with the tin can man, so if you’d like read another Din series from me click here to learn up my upcoming fic Was it all a dream? which is coming 1/22/24!

Sorry to ramble in your ask box but
I sometimes doubt It wouldn't matter if Jason came back a murderer; even if Jason returned totally normal, I believe Bruce would view it as the universe punishing him.
I'm not saying Bruce doesn't miss or love Jason, but I think Bruce has personified his grief and sense of failure in Jason.
I was recently looking at "came back relatively intact" Jason au's and thought to myself, "I don't think Jason could ever stop being a ghost, at least not to Bruce."
What do you think?
i mean, this is the whole story, isn't it! i believe that the reason why jason becomes a murderer at all* is that he is believed to be a ghost; by most of the other characters (although rarely stated outright), but also himself equally (annual 25!). jason's death had been too important (and one of the deaths that were supposed to be irreversible as a rule) and hence even post-res he remains a mere haunting. this became a defining trait of his in the contemporary rendition of his character, for better or for worse. the primary issue with it is, of course, that no one wants to meaningfully engage with this at all.
and jason was not merely killed; he was fridged, for bruce specifically. what you said "i think bruce has personified his grief and sense of failure in jason" is a very apt description of what fridging is on a meta level in storytelling! my tag #cemeteries are for the living is actually specifically about it. there's no autonomy in death; the dead you keep become your own story. it is partially natural (although when it comes to bruce, it seems that he personally just sucks at grief work tbh.) except in jason's case, since jason comes back to life, it has even more dire consequences.
but i digress. i'm not sure if bruce would perceive jason coming back as he was to be a punishment, but i definitely agree he would not be entirely... normal about it; and it's not like there is a normal reaction to your child coming back from the dead. but if we assume there is some range of more appropriate ways of dealing with it, i do not think bruce would necessarily manage to fit into it anyway. i believe first of all there would be this terrible fear there that he can fail jason again; if jason is alive, it is possible for him to get hurt again (yes, i'm thinking about this poem again.)
i actually talked (maybe it was in dms with a friend and not here?) about a scenario in which jason gets back to bruce right after his resurrection (for some reason in this vision the resurrection takes place a bit later however) and so he's still a kid that he once was (i don't remember the exact setting we conceived but for clarity: he is not catatonic). we came to the conclusion bruce would not be able to parent him anymore. he would, of course, love him and express it, but there would be something off about the whole setting still. i think we even somehow arrived at dick taking over the custody (not in a formal sense but in every way that matters) for the most part (and that being, mind you, a situation that was not really desirable. it was supposed to be painful for everyone.)
oh and just to throw it here. jason's death changed bruce the most. he is, to an extent, also dead. that creates a barrier in communication from both sides.
*despite of how some like to use garzonas' story to argue otherwise, i don't think there is any good and valid in-context evidence for a claim jason would turn to this modus operandi if the timeline actually followed his 80s characterisation and development.

what do you think would realistically edelgerd's fate post AG?
We know Doylist wise she was Supreme Puppet'd to have her, somehow, survive (when we know how she reacts to military defeat in AM!) and removing all of her agency - Supreme Puppet was Puppet'd, so she cannot be hold accountable for what she did as Lobotogard, or with her regressed state, cannot be accountable the things she did with her mind intact.
I've already ranted about this special plot device to make sure the waifu escapes the axe and its sexist undertones, but damn if thinking about it to this day pisses me to no ends.
Faced with Regressed!Leader, Dimitri dgaf and moves on (or rather, away from her, reminiscing of AM - he has other things to do than to linger on his relationship with Supreme Leader).
I'd say -
Dimtri dgaf and leaves her to her own devices (which would be a nod to the "parley"? Now that Supreme Leader became one of the "weaks" what is she going to do? Bootstraps or rely on a support system she so much decried?) and move to Enbarr to put an end to the War.
But thinking in more serious terms?
His bannermen, friends and people wouldn't settle for anything else than Supreme Leader's death (maybe not on the gates on Enbarr?). She's the one who started this war and had so many people killed in her imperialist bid, so the only way Supreme Leader escapes death is with the Church.
Now, Supreme Puppet'd by Thales and maybe acknowledging Supreme Leader's second crust, Rhea might be more partial to her - she had been used as a plaything by Agarthans (hopefully she developped her racist tendencies after the experiments?) - and could see her as a victim.
On the other hand, she did start this war, and had more agency than expected given how she petitionned the CoS to war against the Agarthans who infiltrated her Empire - and yet, she still launched her attack on the monastery of her own free will.
Rhea is a compassionate person (Yuri still exists even after killing her knights!) so I think, with all things considered - Supreme Leader's status as a victim of Agarthans, Supreme Puppet and Lobotogard, but also, the war she declared and planned, sacking Garreg Mach, attacking the CoS both spiritually (the Southern Church thing was meant to be a direct "contradiction?" to what she preaches?) and martially, and MAGA > Peace - I'd say Rhea'd agree on not killing Supreme Leader, but at the only condition that she remains with the CoS, in something like her sentence will be to rebuild what she destroyed and mend the wounds she caused so that she might have a different outlook on Fodlan and its people (aka, not going all "i don't mind sacrificing them to reach my goals") when she will remember what she did/who she was, and/or will not become the same "tyrant" she was when she will "grow up" (mentally speaking?).
But that's at the only condition that she never gets to rule anything ever again or hold any kind of political power returning to Adrestia/Enbarr - if those conditions aren't met, she will be executed.
(and maybe to appease the people she's now supposed to work with, Rhea will lend her some old bottle of hairdye, maybe people will not see her as the former emperor who bled the continent for her whims, but as someone who is living a new life)
Rhea might thus "request custody" of Supreme Puppet and while the Kingdom might want her dead, the Church, as the main victim of the war, can have the last say (besides Dimitri might be relieved that Supreme Leader will not be executed), however, the Church asks to everyone present to tell their people that the "Supreme Leader who declared this war of unification died and is no more", maybe taking her crown and Aymr away, as proof she's "dead".
It sounds a bit too merciful coming from Rhea, when we see her in Tru Piss and with her history as Seiros the Warrior - but post!AG!Rhea imo is in a different mood, first of all, with Thales gone there are no people who will target Nabateans because of their race (so no genocide PTSD anymore?) and/or try to make new relics, and unlike the events of FE16, Rhea spent the last few years living with humans who demonstrated they could be trustworthy and actually helped her when she was in need (tfw Rhea doesn't know about Dimitro).
I can see her having more faith in humans and a future in Fodlan for everyone post!AG, as Dimitri and the Kingdom people seem to be trustworthy, than in FE16 when all of the events we play through in WC are basically triggering her genocide trauma (people hunting bones and crest stones, killing Jerry, turning her beloved wards in demonic beasts, some people targeting her for no plausible reason (unless the Western Church knew she had pointy ears?), Hresvelg becoming the new Nemesis, etc...)
That being said...
If Clout tries, during the epilogue, to take a shot at Rhea - when people are celebrating the end of the war - I cannot see things not turning sour for him.
Granted, if you want realism, Clout and GW cannot function because they expect the people involved to be completely stupid, but for this AU's sake, let's say Clout and Dimitro had their heart to heart in Zahrofl, he holds her at Failnaught range and demands her death/resignation/removal of her church.
If he shots and kills her (because Rhea would have dropped her guard, thinking she is surrounded by allies!), I cannot see anyone/anything preventing Claude from being dismembered/slaughtered in the seconds after Rhea's death - not even Dimitro because, hey, Clout said he will accept the consequences of his actions to "change" Fodlan, right? - by Church forces, Kingdom forces and, if we want to push the realism card, even Alliance forces (why the fuck did he do that? Maybe it's a weird doppelganger like those dark mages use! Or Erwin will behead him himself - sure this guy did that, but he doesn't represent the Alliance!).
In the chaos and confusion following Rhea's death, Supreme Leader is executed ("if she never started her war, nothing like this would have ever happened") and Fodlan is fucked when Sothis eventually pops up.
If Clout only holds Rhea at "Failnaught range" and she wonders wtf and asks him to explain - while the entire host of people from, again, the Kingdom, the CoS and KoS, the former BL and maybe some peeps from the GD and Leicester are there - Clout gives his bonker
"Who steals your freedom and gives you an endless list of duties and obligations simply because you have a Crest? Who forces you and your friends into a bunch of unwanted marriages and positions of power? The church even forbids any official contact with outside regions! Not exactly great for Faerghus, right? Being as close to Sreng and Albinea as you are."
reasons, Rhea's first reaction might be to crush him (because now she's on guard!) but if Dimitro says this is not a matter partaining to Faerghus and would rather stay aside (which would throw a wrench in Rhea's previous belief that humanity can be trusted again!) the CoS/Kos, Kingdom and Alliance people might just call crap and bullshit and debunk his baseless accusations (rekindling Rhea's faith in people and Fodlan?) from Annette telling him that they already trade with Albinea, Duscur generals and even Dedue telling him they witnessed the Church helping them regardless of their place of birth, Ingrid saying that her marriage to Glenn had not be organised or planned by the Church, but out of the affection they both had for each other and Ashe telling him those obligations and duties he seems to resent don't exist because he has a crest, but out of a genuine desire to help people.
Maybe we can add Judith wondering wtf is going on with Clout-boy, has he forgotten people get responsabilities and duties because they want them or because Nobility exists well beyond Fodlan's borders? "And I thought you had more common sense than this!"
A Goneril bannerman/loldier might add that the Archbishop asked them to treat Almyran as something else than nuisances and parasites when she came to visit and left with an Almyran kid in tow, but hey - they always attack them for no reason and create strife in Goneril for no reason, haven't they attacked just before the Academy closed?
Basically everyone debunking his claims, Clout realising that said claims were sprouted from his ass so he gets some tissue and wipes it clean.
Clout then relents (tfw no allies to support him) and the Alliance's roundtable finally vote to elect a branch member of the Riegan fam as head of the House - Clout leaves Failnaught and departs "somewhere far away".
(maybe he returns as Almyra's King later on, or as a crown prince, with a treaty/offer of peace, wishing for prosperity between the two lands).
-> all jokes aside and in a more serious setting, even with Dimitro not outwardly condemning him, Clout's course of action would be frowned upon by every party - Alliance included - and depending on his involvment, Dimitro himself might be challenged by his vassals/friends "Sure it's not about Faerghus' safety, but are we really going to let this guy target and ice and bring more chaos by eliminating our ally - who repaid our hospitality with kindness and supported our war efforts - when the Alliance refused to assist us when the Empire swore to Make Adrestia Great Again and warred against us?"
Granted, in this more serious setting, Dimitro doesn't exist because the plot doesn't bend backwards to accomodate Clout so...
Even if Clout doesn't try to ice Rhea asap and waits maybe 8 months after GM's recovery and the end of the war, I cannot see the Lords of the Alliance - when they can try to do "business as usual" with the former Adrestia lands - endorse a military campaing against the Church to, uh, decalcify Fodlan's current order to put YOLO in place. Clout suggesting this is basically handing to Erwin/anyone reason enough to depose him from his seat as Riegan's representative (the alliance has more to win with rebuilding Adrestia/Fodlan than to wage a pointless war that will alienate everyone and leave their backs open to an Almyran attack), and he either runs away to Almyra or dies in a pointless attempt to start a civil war/rebellion to garner troops to target the Church.
For sure this looks like an ideal "and everything ends good AU!" but in a more serious setting, where people have common sense and don't suddenly hold idiot plot balls to make sure Clout seems to have a point... his POV doesn't hold under scrutiny and no one can normally follow him, unless they have another agenda (Make Leicester Great Again?)

OFMD S1E5: Izzy, Lucius, & The Command Problem: Or, How Izzy Hands Helped Take The Revenge And All He Got Was Insubordination Due To Unclear Command Structure
Intro
In which I incoherently ramble (you’ve been warned) my way towards making the case that both Lucius and Izzy (but Izzy more so) were justified under their understanding of the chain-of-command and that Izzy was absolutely not bullying Lucius, but that it doesn’t matter because the writers only really cared about setting up a character dynamic.
Every so often I see floating about, the argument that Izzy was bullying Lucius by trying to make him do physical labor in episode 5, or somehow out of line and acting without any legitimate reason to believe he had authority to give orders. I reject that view due to my conviction the show just didn’t care, and this is supported by how no clear command structure is established by S1E5.
The captain goes down with the ship. & A ship can only have one captain.
At the end of episode 4, Ed’s line about the captain going down with the ship suggests that he sees the Revenge as his. Earlier in the episode we get lines from both Izzy and the crew, specifically Frenchie, Oluwande, and Jim that indicate an expectation that the Revenge, and its crew, are now in the custody of Ed. In E7, Ed further hints at considering the Revenge under his command when, as a partial explanation for his decision to leave, he says a ship can only have one captain.
Izzy has reason to believe they’re still doing a hostile takeover of the Revenge, albeit covertly when it comes to the hostile part, and are to bring it line with Ed’s expectations of how a pirate crew and ship should function. Even if they’re all to be executed, in the meantime they’re still a ship and crew that is under Ed’s command & tutorage, and therefore reflect on his reputation.
Whereas Lucius, in his capacity as That Man’s scribe, is mostly seeing things from the angle of Ed working with That Man as a consultant.
Fang backs Izzy up.
Until he doesn’t, of course.
Given how quick Fang is to abandon his task to supervise Lucius and how little he cares that Izzy’s about to find out he’s posing nude for the guy who’s work he’s supposed to be supervising, I doubt he would’ve followed Izzy around enforcing orders he knew Izzy didn’t have the authority to give.
Fang backed Izzy up and was ready to enforce his orders, until he dropped that responsibility for a bit of portraiture and flirtation. We’ve seen that Fang will acquiesce to Izzy’s commands when Izzy is acting on Blackbeard’s orders. We see how little regard Fang has for Izzy’s authority, absent the backing of Blackbeard. I’d argue that we also can see that Fang was apologetic about not pulling Lucius up when Lucius first asked him to, which suggests Fang considered supervising Lucius’s work something he had to reluctantly do.
I think Fang’s actions of initially backing Izzy up and enforcing his orders, only to later abandon his post and flagrantly disregard Izzy’s orders, make the most sense if they don’t need to make sense. There need not be rhyme or reason to how Fang engages Izzy’s authority when it’s bestowed by Blackbeard vs. when it’s not, if all that matters is using him to escalate the absurdity of the situation and the conflict between Lucius and Izzy.
Buttons
Buttons is That Man’s First Mate, and didn’t attend the party. If Lucius was 100% certain in the rightness of his argument, he could’ve directed Izzy to Buttons so the two first mates could sort it out between themselves.
If chain-of-command mattered and had been laid out in-universe, it means Lucius passed up a chance to use Izzy’s adherence to structure and hierarchy against him and make dealing with Izzy someone else’s problem. But he didn’t. Am I really to believe Lucius would pass up such an opportunity?
Conclusion
So, if the reasoning behind Lucius’s refusal to follow Izzy’s orders and Izzy’s authority to give those orders doesn’t matter, why do I think it happened?
As a convenient way to facilitate a conflict between Lucius and Izzy that would come down not to an appeal to rules of chain-of-command and rights of conquest/boarding, but snipping and personal attacks.
I don’t think the show cared about anything else, least of all who was “right.” Lucius and Izzy needed to be set up to butt heads, and the confrontation needed to be between them and not something either could address by appealing to That Man or Ed to make a decision.
All that said, Lucius was clearly in the wrong.

Some of my Queer as Folk hot takes:
The show absolutely did Emmett dirty with his love life. He deserved so much better. The show's romantic ending for him will infuriate me until the day I die. We get, what, 4 sentences from the guy Emmett winds up with?
The show making Hunter straight was stupid. Hunter is bisexual. Why else would he be so pursuant of Brian? Hunter even offered to pay Brian to sleep with him, which makes zero sense if Hunter was legitimately straight. I feel similarly about Lindsay. I think she's bisexual, not a lesbian.
Ted and Blake should not have ended up together. Their relationship has waaayyyyy too much baggage. It was built on trauma and continued to grow on unhealthy power dynamics. Granted, it is slightly better than Ted and Emmett winding up together (they were a billion times better as friends), but that's an incredibly low bar.
I love Justin, but Justin was kind of a prick during a lot of season 2. He enters into a relationship with Brian (an enormous step on Brian's part that Justin should have appreciated more). What does Justin do mere weeks later? Break their agreement with some random guy at a party. True, it must've been beyond frustrating for Justin that Brian refused to tell Justin that he loved him. Still, Justin's resentment that they weren't monogamous or romantic enough annoys me to no end. Justin agreed to Brian's suggested relationship, and Justin set the majority of the parameters for it himself. Justin was the only one who violated their boundaries as a couple, and he did so very quickly. Yes, him cheating and eventually leaving was kind of understandable because he was young, and Ethan fed him a lot of bullshit that got Justin's hopes up. But it remains terrible. Brian was often a shithead, but he deserved better.
THE HOTTEST TAKE: Brian and Justin not getting married was the right thing to do, and (here's the hot take part) they should not get back together. That is, unless Justin changes his mind about monogamy, he and Brian get a new place together where they can both be successful, and they take partial custody of Gus. I see the last 2 things potentially happening, but if Justin continues to be dead set on monogamy, his and Brian's relationship will always be doomed like Brian says.
I have more unpopular opinions if anyone wants to hear them. What are your QAF hot takes?
EDIT: I posted a part 2 as well.

I'm seeing a lot of pessimistic reactions to the article, which was my initial reaction as well. Especially when it comes to what "Charmie" means for us now.
But now all I see is Armie preparing to fight for what he truly lost as a result of this scandal: his career.
Divorce and custody were unavoidable prior to all of this, and let's not forget he got partial custody and the divorce will be finalized soon. He still has the support of his friends and family on his side, he has his freedom, and one day his reputation will be fully recover and people will love him even more than before, is the day when the whole truth will eventually be revealed, and that on his terms, he already revealed more than he wanted on the article and that was necessary for his comeback, but anything else will be on his terms, their terms.
And I'm glad he didn't give up on his career; that's the true revenge against the scumbags and his ex-wife. Even seeing that he still wants to return to the spotlight must be terribly painful for them, and having an A-list celebrity like Robert Downey Jr. help him is a slap in their faces.
Luca supporting Armie in 2023, and Timmy putting Luca on his profile picture.
Timmy taking a neutral position when asked about Armie in 2021 (that's all a well known public figure can afford these days without getting slammed into oblivion) the reaction of Effie and the people who despise Armie after the Times interview, were enough to know where Timmy's heart is, and I'm sure Tim will give us his full response when the time comes.
Armie and Timmy were and continue to be brave in showing us how special their bond is over the years.
Timmy in 2020 commented on Armie's post with "🥵🥵" when he doesn't comment on anyone's posts let alone put this sort of emoji.
Timmy in 2019 goes to the fans and tells them that Armie is supposed to be here with him, he doesn't talk about anyone like that.
Timmy always did something special for Armie in public, and 2021 the Times was no exception.
We will always have their friendship on display; it is in the smallest details but speaks louder than a simple photograph of them together.
"And I'm glad he didn't give up on his career; that's the true revenge against the scumbags and his ex-wife. Even seeing that he still wants to return to the spotlight must be terribly painful for them, and having an A-list celebrity like Robert Downey Jr. help him is a slap in their faces."
💯💯💯☝️ I hope he wants to return , yes my first desire

Stumbling across blogs like @tobladewithlove and @master0fpuppetz reawakened my enjoyment of the Puppet Master franchise, and in doing so, reminded me of a fic I created - and even partially wrote - back in high school. There was also a sequel in development (i.e. merely floating around in my head).
I never properly gave the main character a face, so I had to rectify that and finally draw her. *Her hair is light brown and her eyes are green.
This is Layla Blackmore, the distant niece of André Toulon on her mom's side of the family. She's a sweet girl who keeps to herself and hides her tough school life from her parents, believing they have enough to worry about due to the family's financial struggles. She's understandably frazzled after being given custody of the puppets, but she soon warms up to them. Given the fact that she's a teenager, the puppets are very protective of her. And of course, because this is a P.M. story, freaky shit inevitably happens. All of it amounts to a bittersweet ending.
By the time the sequel occurs (as mentioned in the drawing, it's a little over a year later), she's... changed. She's still sweet and loves the puppets dearly (and they love her, too), but she starts taking less crap from people, her dry wit is amplified, and she is seeing a therapist after the events of part 1. Also, she's now living with an aunt (because spoiler alert: her parents got killed during the first story) who she's having trouble connecting with.
But anyway, the general plot of part 2 is her and the puppets going to the Bodega Bay Inn where they meet a young psychic and - shock of all shocks - more freaky shit happens. Yeah, I'm talkin' the return of a classic series villain in zombie form.
There are other details pertaining to the plot of these fics, but I didn't want this post to become bloated.

Got some questions for today :)
1: do the duo like kid friendly horror? Like monster house, coraline, Casper etc…
2: what was the duos first day as superheroes together?
3: would mar’i dye her hair?
4: saw a post saying that Jake is a fan of Star Wars, what’s his favorite movie, game, and character? I can see him and Chris playing Lego Star Wars the skywalker saga in couch co-op.
5: what are they gonna dress up as this upcoming Halloween?
6: what’s their favorite candy?
1. They partially grew up on that stuff if anything. It’s a Halloween tradition for Chris and Jake to marathon those movies (mainly Coraline, Nightmare before Christmas, Paranorman, Frakenweenie and if their parents allow it, Beetlejuice) after a night out Trick or treating.
2. The Duo’s first ever joint mission came when classic alien villain Brainiac once successfully captured the Justice League, the Titans along with most of both the Kents and Graysons in both Metropolis and Bludhaven, leaving it up to Chris and Jake after the two are the only ones who safely evaded being shrunk along with their respective cities. While they started separate on different parts of Brianiac’s ship, they met up at the storage room for all those cities the Coluan had collected. While Chris faced a one and one battle against the cyborg, Jake frantically searched for any button or wire he can to free the cities while also making sure Brainiac didn’t launch a probe into the Sun which could’ve created a planet destroying supernova.
After trial, error, getting roughly pounded and various other issues, the two realize that by working side by side, combining their strengths and tactics, only then was Brainiac beaten down, granting Jake the codes needed to stop the supernova probe while Chris flew the bottled cities back to their rightful places, twisting off the caps allowing them to grow back to normal size (for a bonus he even did the same the long lost Kryptonian city of Kandor at the South Pole, a vital part for Thara Ak Var’s story later). Soon, Brainiac was turned over to Project Cadmus’ custody, the day was saved.
It’ll be about a week or two later when Jake was investigating stolen Kryptonian and Tamaranean tech from the aforementioned Cadmus along with other high tech places, which leads to him calling up Chris if he’d like to join on his secret investigation, an offer Chris happily accepts. This was the first official mission together after the small taste of it they got with Brianiac’s invasion.
Thus, the Starburst Duo was born.
3. Highly doubt it. Her hair already leaves sparkly purple streaks when in flight and as far as she’s concerned, that’s good enough for her. She knows how to dye hair but that doesn’t mean she’ll do it on herself. Lol
4. He adores and favors The Force Awakens as it was his first Star Wars film. It’s the one film out of the Sequel Trilogy that everyone he knows likes as well so there’s that working out. His favorite characters are many by the ones that pop to his mind include Luke, Finn, Ezra, Vader, Dooku, Mace, Rex and of course the Ewoks. Both The LEGO games and Republic Commando are his games of choice and yes Chris and him absolutely have a blast with it together. It’s common for them to fool around Dexter’s Diner swinging their lightsabers all over the place.
5. Chris - Probably as Son Gohan (Cell Games Saga) from Dragon Ball
Jake - Most likely as the Eleventh Doctor from Doctor Who since his Uncle Tim in turn is going as the Tenth (or Fourteenth) Doc.
6. You will be surprised how many Red Vines packs and other licorice flavors Jake has stored away inside the back corner of the fridge. Even Black licorice doesn’t taste bad to him at all
Meanwhile, Chris favors Twix, both bars. He’s bipartisan in the debate over Left Side or Right Side
As for them both, they of course would take their team’s namesake, Starbursts, any day.
I swear, these questions are getting more interesting with every single ask my friend. @gothicghost2000

Part 2 of road trip au, post road trip. Also un checked and unedited.
They don't spend the next few days together on purpose.
So, as I said, Chloe offers a ride to Juleka, but once they get to the boat, Juleka asks Chloe if she wants to hang out. She says yes and the first day they just hangout on the boat, talking for hours, watching movies and laughing at Luka's reaction to the jumpscares. By the time they realized how long its been it is midnight and Chloe ends up spending the night. In the morning they get dressed and get ready. They take a detour on the way to the hotel and go shopping till they get hungry, then go eat. They get to the hotel and Chloe asks her if she wants to come up for a bit. They do and they just lay on the bed and talk. "So, you're dad has partial custody?" "Yeah, which sucks cause he lives in America." "Is anything gonna happen since you just up and left?" "Probably not, he's pretty laid back. Maybe even a little too laid back." "I guess it has its perks." "Yep." "You wanna get out of here?" Chloe sat up with a smile. "It'll be fun."
They end up going around Paris, to the park and then up to the observation deck on arc de triomphe in time for the sunset. They're not alone but they kindof get lost in eachother, almost missing golden hour. When golden hour does happen Juleka can't look away. Chloe can't look away from her. Chloe realizes she may or may not have feelings for her. After the sunset they walk around for a few hours then head back to the hotel, laughing about the fact that they've spent the last like 9 nights together and were about to spent 1 more. They couldn't sleep so they went up to the roof, keep in mind it is now the middle of the night. No one is there and there is no event so the lights are all off. Chloe looked around for the power box and flicked on the lights. She dragged Juleka to the railing where she new they'd get the best view.
The city was still so alive with lights everywhere. Again, they just talked. "It's sad." "Hmm?" "That we trade the lights in the sky for the ones on the ground." "Oh." "Sorry, that was probably a little to dreary." "Juleka?" "Yeah?" "We have been trading trama stories for the past week." "I know." "Your cute concern about light pollution is not too dreary." "Oh." "If anything it's kindof endearing." "How?" "Even when you see something this beautiful, you still think about what it costs. Then again you did grow up with Rose." "She might've affected my view of the world a teensy bit." "You two are close?" "Have been for years. Oh, shit. She doesn't even know I'm back."
"Yeah she does." "What?" "She's been asking in the group chat. The others messaged about the details of the road on the plane ride home." "Oh." "What?" "Nothing." "Trouble in paradise?" "No, nothing like that. It just hit me that this has to end eventually." "What does?" "This-" she motioned between the two of them "-I've just really enjoyed hanging out." "It's not ending now, is it?" There was a mini desperation in her tone that only seemed to ring in the seconds of silence. "I don't think so." Filled with relief, Chloe suggested they go back inside and they did after almost falling in the pool and cutting out the lights. They watched another movie and fell asleep. Chloe woke up first to butler guy knocking on her door. He just told her that Andre is glad she got home safe and would like to schedule a dinner sometime this week. She said yeah, sure and went back to bed. She couldn't get back to sleep so she stared at Juleka until she realized she was staring at Juleka. Then she just got up and sat on her balcony with the door open. Juleka woke up and silently joined her. They mumbled their goodmornings and just enjoyed the morning air in silence. 30ish minutes later, another knock on the door as butler dude came to tell Chloe they're about to stop serving breakfast.
He is a little surprised when Juleka is standing behind Chloe but continues to tell them both about the breakfast ending. Chloe asks if Juleka wants to get this or go out. They get hotel breakfast, joking as they ate in the dining area. Butler guy comes to tell Chloe about the dinner scheduled in three days. She nodded and he left. They finished eating and went back up to Chloe's room. They just chilled out in there for a few hours until they got hungry again. They raided the kitchen and then Chloe got a text from Adrien. A: "wana hng ut" C: "with who?" A: "me n alya" C: "can juleka come?" A: "👀" A: "sur" They went to Adrien's and played some video games, watched a movie, and played some bored games. They ended up staying the night there and sleeping on a pallet while. Chloe woke up to Adrien and Alya talking from the bed. When they saw her up they laughed and said goodmorning. "Whats so funny?" "Nothing." "You and Juleka seem close." "We've been hanging out." "For how long?" "Did you even drop her off?" She got flustered at that and glared at Alya. "I was going to! Really, I was, but she asked if I wanted to hang out." "And you just haven't left?" "Did you even want to?" She was silent, her face getting more flushed. "Chloe..." "You're down bad, girl." She looked back to make sure Juleka was still asleep. "...I know." Alya laughed at and teased her and Adrien tried to console her. Eventually Juleka woke up and they ate breakfast. Chloe focused on her food and aladrien kept glancing at everyone. Juleka pretended she didn't notice. Afterwards aladrien say they are gonna go mess around and record at the park. Chloleka just went back to the hotel to get Juleka's stuff that she left because they weren't planning on spending the night at Adrien's. They watched another movie, then another, and another. Juleka said she should probably go home after one more. They start the movie but Chloe kinda just falls asleep.
The movie ends and Juleka is about to leave but she doesn't want to leave without good bye. She lays there for a minute and pulls out her phone to text Luka. J: 'Probably not gonna make it home tonight.' L: 'This is a very long date' J: '>-<' J: 'Its not a date.' L: 'Sure its not' J: 'Shush' L: ':P' J: 'ur gae' L: 'Says the one on week long date' J: 'Its not a date.' L: 'Sure' J: 'I'm going to ignore that and go to sleep.' L: 'Really? Its a little early don't you think?' J: 'Its 10?' L: 'I'm guessing she's already asleep?' J: 'Yep. Gn.' L: 'Lol night ig' She lays there for a while before putting on another movie and getting comfy under the covers.
This is where it ends for now cause I've hit a mental block

Got any HC's today that you have thought up recently?
Ooooh yes! I love rambling about random headcanons that I feel are too small for a post!
Unlike Al, Mattie never got to the point where he felt he was too "old" for affection from his family. In fact, he openly welcomed it and sought it. Because for a moment, a hug or a kiss chased away his ever constant fear of being left behind, not being good enough.
This is partially borrowed from Canon but like... an extension of a Canon point. Though I'm still not quite sure why Austria was once in a wheelchair, but whatever caused it, I headcanon it's left him with a condition where his legs are weak or are in pain regularly. Though he can walk around without any aid on good days, sometimes he needs a cane, and on bad days he has to go back to the wheelchair.
Getting big into projection territory here, but it feels fitting for Matthew. Matthew not really knowing whether he has social anxiety or autism. For example he struggles in social situations feeling like he never knows what to do, fidgets quite a bit (possibly stimming or maybe just a nervous tic), only comfortable in sweaters and jogging pants (possibly texture sensitivity, possibly just a comfort thing). He doesn't know and he's too nervous to seek out a proper diagnosis. So he just kind of...tries to deal with it on his own.
Ludwig got one of his dogs certified as his service dog. Like, it was not purposeful, but he and those around him started to notice how Aster had learned ways she could ground Ludwig when he got overstimulated or when he had bad nightmares. So they made it official so he could take her everywhere when needed.
Matthew does drag in his free time
Matthew keeps chickens because Arthur always had a few chickens when Matthew was growing up. Caring for those chickens were some of Matthew’s favourite memories with him.
Peter has visitation with Arthur every weekend or every other week (I can't decide). Peter seemed like the first child Arthur could possibly not screw up. But Peter pops up at a time when Arthur isn't doing well. His body is exhausted from two world wars, his empire is crumbling along with his sense of purpose. He's not in a good headspace. As much as he wants to care for Peter, get this second chance at being a father, he knows that this will not be a good environment for a child. So he looks else where. I'm not sure how Ber is the one who he gives custody to, but Ber gets custody while Arthur gets visitation. Peter and Arthur's relationship becomes more like brothers annoying each other and they call each other such. Though Arthur nowadays is in a much better place, Peter seems happy with his parents, and Arthur is much more confident in the role of brother, at least when it comes to Peter. And he still gets to be there for Peter on the weekends. And whenever Sufin is too busy and needs someone to watch Peter.

YOUR TAGS????!? IM HOWLING
I know we r having a Laff but I'm also so serious about this. the comment section of every youtube news video about a woman who was murdered by her bf or husband is full of men saying she must have pushed him to it (I have a post in my drafts with literally 100s of comments defending a man who tortured raped and killed his wife for only "giving" him partial custody of the kids due to his abuse, and saying it was justified bc "taking a mans kids from him is just as evil") so I am in fact going to continue to victim blame Travis in 100% seriousness for leading on a woman he knew was mentally ill for sexual access while mocking her behind her back .
