I think it's fascinating that the quotes:

came from the same series whose standard fare is lines like:

"What in the hell are you two doing?" / "We're being executed by our own men, sir." / "Cut it out."

...and both categories manage to be a poignant statement about the nature of war and what it does to the people in it.

#everyone always talks about the more dramatic bits of rvb with the speeches and the 8+ seasons of plot development as the anti-war part #but the comedicization of the violence and death that the characters go through. the tongue-in-cheek gung-ho attitudes.#the way that they're so desensitized to the idea of death or gruesome injury to the point that it's!!! a comedy show!!!#all of that is just as much a statement of the fucked up nature of war!!!#it's like Col. Flagg and Frank Burns in M*A*S*H. they're so simultaneously into and detached from the war and it's a STATEMENT #idk I'm just. thinking about my favourite anti-war media. drawing mash-rvb parallels. and suddenly had to scream about it #might reread the paper on rvb being anti-war media. for enrichment.#not video games #late nights with ali #ali watches rvb #rvb #red vs blue

One day I'll get there.#The irony is that I was planning on drawing something to celebrate tempo finishing season 1 of their series only to find this DTIYS!#*and* it was their birthday recently. I am compelled to lift them into the air and shout their praises.#What a genuinely kind person with an art style I want to bite into like a crunchy apple!!! The *range* is incredible!#Also their xie lian is probably one of my favourite interpretations. by the end of heartstopper season 2, isaac picked up the ACE book from his library and openly read it and held it around his friends - as a representation of coming to terms with being aroace and even being/ready to be open about being so.

so if this is the case, the books that isaac reads in this season seem to represent the current state that his self-discovery journey is in.

for example, isaac is seen reading ‘boy erased’ briefly in one scene - a book about conversion therapy. suggesting that isaac is rejecting the idea of being aroace at this point in time.

as he gets closer to understanding his identity, he reads ‘summer bird blue’, which has an aroace mc but isn’t the entire focus of the book. this suggests he’s much more open to the idea of aroace and is looking into it, but discreetly.

and then, of course, he picks up the ACE book from the library.

but if this is the case, back in episode 3 when james and isaac were setting up the display, james says this:

as he picks up the book with ‘bi’ written in front. and isaac responds:

if the books he has read in this season represent his labels and self-discovery journey, the suggestion that he has read a book about bisexuality but disliked it, suggests that he has, in fact:

experienced the bisexual to aroace pipeline.

One of the most underrated jokes from Game Changer has to be Zach Reino's improvised newsie joke of "Extra, extra, read all about it! The fish are gone."

It knocks me out laughing every time I watch the episode. I cannot imagine a funnier headline to come up with for a local newspaper.

And the fact that he somehow managed to tee up the next joke for Zeke by cosmic coincidence is just *chef's kiss*.
