i. zhongli

what better role than that of the young new professor everyone is fussing over?

he carries himself like someone well beyond his years and speaks as if he’s walked the earth for a millennia. his knowledge is extensive and doesn’t just revolve around the subject he teaches, history. he is well-versed in ancient literature, poetry, and is fluent in several languages. it’s no wonder everyone is dying to meet him and have a profound conversation with him.

even you find him intriguing and can’t help but gravitate towards him when you’re both in the breakroom, but you’re determined to find the one thing you know better than him. so far you’ve failed in brewing a better cup of tea than him, knowing how to bind a book (even making the pages from scratch), knowing calligraphy, and picking a lock faster (why does he even need that skill? you’re sure anyone would let him into their home even on a first meeting, probably even give him the codes to all their safes)

ii. childe

surprisingly he’s the insufferable TA that zhongli handpicked himself. how he thought that guy was the best option when there’s obviously thoma that everyone loves is beyond you. but you have to admit he has a way with words, which is probably why the professor picked him. he could get anyone interested in just about any subject, even a “boring” one like history. and that’s not just a personal opinion either, many students have admitted that the only reason they decided to take the class was because he convinced them.

however, there’s also this weird aura about him. it feels intimidating for some reason, but you can’t quite put your finger on why... and some of your classmates have mentioned being afraid of missing an assignment cause of him. but he seems like a cool guy from your experience, just a little annoying if anything

iii. diluc

the first time you saw the redhead wasn’t in class, even though a couple of days later you realized he sat right behind you. in your defense, it’s not like you’re looking behind you during class, but you figure you would have seen him walk into class at least once before. but no, you first saw him at the local bar, he was standing behind the counter with his hair up in a high ponytail. if you were being completely honest, that’s probably why you noticed him there and not in class. in class he wears it in a low and lose ponytail. it doesn’t compliment him at all, but who were you to judge his morning routine.

he’s also a completely different person when he’s not at the bar. in class he’s so serious and keeps to himself, another reason why you probably never noticed him. even at the bar he’s somewhat serious, but at least he offers more than a dry “good morning” there. you’ve even gotten a smile

iv. kazuha

you’d heard word of that cute boy that performed with his band at the local bar and had caught a glimpse of him once or twice there when visiting your friend diluc. but you never imagined he was the boy you stared at in class, and not cause you thought he was cute or anything you did, it’s just that you always saw him staring out the window, like he longed to be a bird so he could ride the wind and travel to some far off land. other times you’d catch him flipping through a notebook quickly jotting something down, probably lyrics now that you thought about it, and you found it intriguing.

now that you knew he was in a band maybe you could approach him and ask him about it, he seemed friendly enough

v. thoma

thoma is the perfect student. every professor is always speaking highly of him and using him as an example for those that comes after. and yet it’s hard to hate or envy, someone who is willing to let you borrow his notes. in fact, he offers them to you when he notices you’re struggling with a topic. they’re so neat too, color coded and everything. never in your life had notes made more sense to you than the actual professor.

if you weren’t aware of his culinary arts major, you’d have assumed he was studying to be a professor of some kind. helping others came so naturally to him, but so did cooking. there had been plenty of time when he’d brought snacks for the class just cause he felt like it and they were delicious. no wonder the professors loved him, he motivated the class for them

vi. xiao

if it wasn’t because he is literally the quietest person you’ve ever met, you probably would have never noticed xiao in his corner. at first you thought it was because he hated being around people, one of those extremely anti-social people, but you’ve come to realize he is just shy. not the type to fumble over his words, just not the type to initiate a conversation. once you get him talking he’s alright though. still a little awkward with his one word replies, but he’s not a bad guy.

it took you a while to get him to warm up to you, but now it’s like you took in an injured puppy. he even stopped sitting at the very back corner and now comes to sit next to you. the others took it as a free invitation to start talking to him, but he just gives them polite nods and glances their way occasionally. you wonder if it’s because it takes him a while to trust other people

tags + notes: mututal pining, special treatment (you’re the only one that gets to see the talkative side of him and vulnerable), angst (because he’d still have a sad backstory in this au), but it would eventually have lots of fluff

vii. itto

he’s the completely opposite of xiao. while xiao stand outs because he’s so quiet and mysterious, itto stands out cause it’s impossible for him not to. no ones needs to ask him what he’s doing for the day cause everyone can hear him talking about it in the halls. it’s actually surprising just how loud he can be, but that’s the best part of him. he isn’t afraid of putting himself out there. he’s also an overall great guy, whenever he spots someone being left out he’ll include them in the conversation. he does the same for his football games too, invites everyone and gets them cheering even if they don’t care for the sport and makes friends with the opposing team. there have been plenty of time when both teams go out to eat together after the game because of him, regardless of who won or lost.

but his one fault is that he’s not exactly the brightest. everyone loves him, but the professors can only let him off the hook so many times before his grades start suffering...

any good logan headcanons?

I mean I hope these are good :3 (tbh this is just me projecting but shhh)

- Used to be really excitable when he/Thomas was younger. It started to fade out when the others would get upset when he got too loud or infodump-y.

- Extremely critical of himself, though he won’t stand for it if the others are of themselves.

- Will talk until his voice is hoarse if you give him the chance to.

- Complete shit at cooking. Excellent at baking. This is because in cooking, it’s all “do whatever, measure with your heart!” whereas baking is precise and scientific. (Also Patton is the exact opposite. They assist in making dinners and meals; Patton does the dinner, Logan will do desserts).

- Gets overstimulated easily, especially with Patton and Roman. They're always... a lot, to say the least. Thankfully, Virgil knows how to deal with it. (I've had analogical on the brain, okay?!)

- Writes poetry to relieve himself of certain emotions. It’s very… robotic? Not in an ai generated way, just in the Logan way. Very technical and acute.

- He wouldn't describe himself as creative, but he is, just in ways that aren't "typical". (This one's less of a headcanon and more an observation)

- Prefers classical music to other genres, but if any of the other sides ask him to listen to music with them, he will. Virgil tends to ask him more than the others, leading to him having an acute knowledge of music from bands like MCR, FOB, and the like. When Roman asks him it often ends with Logan (begrudingly) watching a one man performance starring Prince Roman of a musical of said prince's choosing.

- He's the type of guy to get accused of being a bot when responding to an email. He's not. He's just like that.

- He has a fireplace in his room.

- He doesn't often think of some of the bickering with others as actual bickering or fighting, more so as their way of debate. Until things get out of hand. Then even he can admit that it isn't just "civil debate".

- I feel like he'd know German, Latin, French (though he's not entirely fluent), a bit of ASL (in accordance with a Virgil headcanon of mine), and, while it isn't a language, he'd understand floriography (the "language" of flowers) quite well.

- Actually respects Remus and Janus. Another one that’s less headcanon and more observation.

- Holds a festering emotional rage that dates back years. No one else remembers why. He’ll make them remember.

- Really likes sciences! Astronomy especially, but ecology and biology fascinate him, along with social sciences.

today i am thinking about... being kept company by favs while in a low spoons/introverted kind of mode..

(Just some general hcs and such, g/n reader, referred to as 'you'! not explicitly shippy)

Characters: Ayato, Capitano, Childe, Dottore, Pantalone, Pierro, Thoma, Zhongli

Ayato would be more than happy to keep you company - he probably quite likes having someone else nearby that isn't a retainer or something while he's doing his paperwork - I'd imagine he struggles a bit with social burnout on occasion too with how often he has to take charge of conversations, and thus sometimes he will request some 'chill time', especially once he's realised that you both benefit from it. He's often left to his own devices when he's doing his paperwork (apart from Thoma coming up to bring him snacks and drinks) so his study is kind of a safe haven away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world (and even when it's not, Ayato would definitely find you somewhere quiet to sit if you need it <3)

Honestly almost any time with Capitano would be some kind of 'quiet time', I headcanon him to be a very quiet individual, a man who lets his actions do all of the talking. It's actually more of a struggle to get him to engage in a normal conversation (especially if it isn't to do with a subject he's interested in), so hangouts with him often end up with silently watching a movie together or engaging in some form of parallel play (he likes to read -- though I can also see him engaging in some low-key, quiet exercises like tai chi, maybe yoga). I may be projecting here (which I think I'm allowed to because we know next to nothing about him and ive latched onto him like a remora fish), but i imagine that he actually struggles a lot with speaking aloud and socialising and will occasionally go non-verbal when he's had a particularly long or overwhelming day, so sitting quietly doing your own things works great for him.

I'm sorry but Childe can NOT stay still for long enough for either party to benefit from some sit-down quiet time, he's a high-key sensory seeker and is never quiet, he needs to be in the centre of attention or doing at least 3 things at once or he'll explode - he fidgets and wanders and asks annoying/insensitive questions like "hey are you done being quiet now?" he can be really draining to be around but if you tell him you're having a bad day or something he can be super sweet, bringing you treats and gifts and letting you snuggle up to him!

Chill time with Dottore is... unnerving, to say the least. After a mini questionnaire about your day and what led up to you feeling like this, he finally lets up and allows you to sit with him as he goes about whatever business, but eventually you find that he keeps glancing up at you with increasing frequency, his head tilted to the side as he just... observes you.

Pantalone probably chuckles and teases a bit, something along the lines of "oh, you couldn't even go a whole day without me? How sweet." He's another one who doesn't fully understand why someone might want what is essentially 'alone time' in tandem with another person, but he's fine with it as long as you aren't in the way or being distracting, though I feel like he could be kind of strict about it, especially when he's highly stressed, it feels more like being in detention than anything else.

Pierro probably enjoys it (but would never admit it), he probably won't even acknowledge someone walking into the room unless they speak to him directly, so it's really easy just to walk in and sit on a chair near him and just enjoy his presence (though he totally has that old man throat clear/sneeze). Bonus points if you bring him a coffee - he'll tell anyone who walks in looking for you that you're working on something for him and should be left alone.

Thoma is in a similar situation to Childe but he actually knows how to regulate himself well enough to not disturb or bother you - if he has some kind of quiet chore to sit down and do (like folding laundry, sewing or knitting) then he's more than set to keep you company for a while - he'll also offer to make you food and drinks, just like he does when you're sad or upset. I think he struggles to differentiate between upset/just needing some quiet time, but he really does mean well!

I think Zhongli would kind of struggle with the idea at first, it's kind of a non-traditional way of hanging out that he's not used to, he's such a talkative person and will just infodump about the first things that come to his mind because he likes to share things with you, but once he's warmed up to the idea he's more than happy to just sit in the same room while he works on some paperwork for the funeral parlor or reads, only occasionally breaking the silence to tell you something he's deemed to be very interesting or important.

Graves sighed as Jason, Mila and Oz sat with him. "I don't like this. I don't like this at all. I appreciate you guys trying to make feel pretty on my special day and all, but I uh... I don't think I want to wear a dress."

Oz gasped. "But you look so nice!" And he did. Graves really did think he looked pretty. But it wasn't him. The dress was tight around his waist and looser around the shoulders. It did look lovely.

Mila nodded. "Yeah, but it's his special day. What do you think would fit you best, Boss?"

Graves frowned and actually thought about it. He never really thought he'd get a day like this. When he was a kid, he was told weddings were for women. Then, once it became more accepted for men to care about it, he had started to realize he was gay which definitely meant he could never have this. His family would've never tolerated it.

Now, he had a new family. Family that liked him. That didn't mind.

Still, he struggled sometimes. He sometimes wished he could approach being gay the way his younger friends did. That he could take eyeliner and put it on and makeup.

But that stuff didn't spark the same feelings in him that it did them. It was not freeing. It just...sparked nothing.

Graves put the white suit on and felt... Well. It was better. The pants were so much more comfortable at least. He didn't like having his bare legs out. But it still didn't feel quite right. Definitely closer though.

Jason got the idea for the veil and once Graves put it over his face, he was pretty sure this was the closest he'd get to what brides felt on their wedding day. It was a nice mix of femininity and masculinity that just felt nice. Good even.

Graves found he liked a lot of things about wedding planning. The flowers. The tasting a bunch of cakes. Price looking at him fondly every chance he got. It made him forget about the returned invitations from his family.

Price was a saint. Always was. Better than he deserved anyway.

So the day came. Price and Graves went back and forth about who should walk down the aisle and they eventually settled on Graves because Price didn't want to risk his knee giving him problems and they had to rush to adjust for him. It didn't happen often, but his knee could have him almost bedridden on bad days and Graves had agreed with him at the time.

But all the attention would be on him.

It hit him hard as he walked down the stupid aisle.

The flowers were a mix of buttercups and peonies. The florist had tried her best to get him to change his mind and pick flowers that looked better together or at least matched, but Graves had wanted peonies and Price wanted buttercups and neither wanted to tell the other person no.

There were only a handful of people. The 141, Jason, Mila, Oz, Laswell, Farah and Alex. Not too many people.

Graves didn't understand why something ached in his chest. Why the suit felt stifling. The veil a giant arrow pointing towards him for ridicule.

Too feminine, not feminine enough.

Price looked at him and smiled.

Just right.

Graves was... just right. He was fine. Because Price loved him as he was.

Price gently lifted the veil and let it drape across his back.

"Beautiful."

Graves started to cry. Price grabbed Graves's hands and kissed them, while the priest spoke. He had insisted that there be a priest even though Price didn't care. But Graves wanted there to be, so they made it happen.

Price almost kissed him before the "I do"s.

"John Michael Price. Do you take him to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

"I do."

"Phillip Thomas Graves. Do you take him to be your lawfully wedding husband?"

Graves had so many emotions. They almost choked him up until he couldn't say it, but he took a deep breath. "I do."

"You may now salute the groom."

They kissed. Soft and sweet. His arm went around Graves, holding him carefully. Graves went on his tippy toes to keep the kiss going, not for the first time hating the height gap.

A few of their friends clapped excitedly or whistled. Price pulled him away and smiled at him.

"Now, lets eat that cake, yeah, my love?"

Graves nodded and they held hands, cutting the cake. It was a vanilla bean flavor with a chocolate layer on top. They took their pieces and left everyone else to eat it. Graves remembered seeing videos of couples and offered a bite to Price on a fork. He made eye contact with him as he took his bite for mimicking him.

"You really do look beautiful. Even teary eyed. What happened?"

"I'm just really happy I got this day. With you."

I think what really makes The Patriot such a great movie for Jason Isaacs in spite of being such a shitty movie for just about everyone else involved just comes down to laziness in the writing. Robert Rodat wrote a protagonist who is allegedly, somehow, a badass Rambo-style war hero and haunted by his past AND a good father, and the filmmakers planned from the beginning to rely on Mel Gibson's charisma to sell him. Roland Emmerich admits they never really considered anyone else for the role. Meanwhile, Tavington on paper is a cardboard cutout Evil English Snob. The original plan was to cast Jude Law, a solid Evil English Snob choice, but when he took too long to officially accept, they offered the part to an actor with little experience in American film who had not played a major antagonist before. And they let him implement some of his own ideas because his character wasn't the one they really cared about.

And he stole their movie!

I would argue that the main reason for this, the reason all the others stem from, is Issacs' idea for Tavington's backstory. Not only does it explain why he is in the Army and so desperate for a British victory, but also, in part, why he has such particular beef with a father.

The backstory itself is certainly more tragic than Martin's. For all the movie's criticism of "gentlemen," growing up in the expectation of a certain kind of life and having that torn away through someone else's irresponsibility would traumatize anyone. While the movie tells us nothing about Tavington's age when his father died or what happened to him in the immediate aftermath, it is abundantly clear that he has not gotten over it. Martin has not gotten over Fort Wilderness, but by every other account we hear it was 1, Martin's accomplishment and 2, an absolute Roman triumph from the British Colonial perspective. It did nothing to hurt Martin's fortune or prospects, quite the opposite. The only drawback for Martin is that when you commit war crimes, it has an unfortunate way of making you feel like you might be a war criminal. Annoying that.

That Tavington has a saber to grind with fathers is also far more consistent than Martin's approach to fathering, as we see in Tavington's first scene. He points his pistol at Martin's children to get the rise out of him that pointing it at him failed to stir. He never speaks to Gabriel or even looks at him upon discovering the dispatches he carried, but when Gabriel calls Martin "father," suddenly Tavington is invested: "Oh, I see. He's your son. Well, perhaps you should have taught him something of loyalty." Every problem Tavington sees in this scene of performed neutrality he lays at Martin's door, even Gabriel's service in the Continental Army. Could it be projection? If there is one outcome that is not Martin's fault, it is Gabriel joining up against his explicit wishes. Meanwhile, Martin's concern for Gabriel shifts from his endangering five of his remaining children's lives to save him to paying so little attention to him immediately after his new wife's murder that he is able to ride for revenge with no inconsequential number of Martin's men behind him. And he is at least as shocked by Gabriel's death as he was by Thomas's.

The first exchange between Tavington and Martin is mostly unchanged from the script to the theatrical release, but the two following it are dramatically different thanks to Isaacs. He argued successfully that not only would Tavington not be afraid of Martin after the prisoner exchange but that he would do well in the final fight between them (a fight that does not exist in the original screenplay). That fight in particular creates problems for the filmmakers' vision of Martin. In the unaltered first scene, Tavington has all of the power, sitting on his horse while Martin is on foot. In the second, Tavington draws his sword to kill Martin while he is unarmed. Both of these are classic dastardly villain moves. In the last exchange, though, it is Martin who has the advantage of having wounded Tavington twice before they get in sword's reach of each other, and Tavington still kicks his ass. On Tavington's side, this is not representative of a one-dimensional villain but of a man who has clawed his way to being a colonel in the British Army after losing everything with his father's death. The only reason Tavington does not kill Martin, either after the punch Martin does not take like a champ or after he has literally beaten Martin to his knees, is that he is still seeking a connection with a father.

The problem with the changes Jason Isaacs brought about is that they make Tavington a badass fighter with a sad backstory, which also happen to be the only aspects of Martin that get any real development. His onscreen violence evokes Fort Wilderness from first to last, but the third aspect of Martin's character, that he is a good father, is told rather than shown. Had changes been made to Martin that corresponded to Isaacs' for Tavington, then he could have had a stronger ending, perhaps saving Gabriel as he failed to save Thomas. But, no. Instead he just gets out-badassed in his own movie and then handed a giftwrapped victory anyway.

Unburied - He’s got this. Never had stage fright, so he just gets up there, does his thing, and knocks socks off. Gives a bow at the end and waits for applause. If he doesn’t get any, he tells the audience to go fuck themselves and leaves.

ZY - He has so many unnecessary charts and graphs, and the only reason they are there is to make you feel stupid. I’ve listened to plenty of presentations where this was the case, and there is nothing worse. Literally mic drops at the end of his presentation.

okay i'm adding nuance to my sanders sides take because i feel like it needs to be said.

i don't think having sanders sides episodes be ad reads are a bad thing. it's important to remember that this is thomas' livelihood and he has people to pay.

i also don't think fluff is a bad thing, and i genuinely miss when episodes were light and breezy. (which, reminder: that's what the Aside videos were meant to be.)

i don't think having a fluff, time-filling video for an ad read is bad.

but i DO think that doing an ad read for a series that has not had a main plot-centric episode uploaded in roughly 2 years while the fanbase is held in update-less limbo isn't exactly a good look.

i've seen several people try to play the "gotcha!" card of: "well the crofters video was an ad too!"

firstly, as i said: it's not a bad thing for a sanders sides episode to be an ad.

secondly, the crofters video was uploaded April 19th, 2018. the next video, Learning New Things About Ourselves (the puppet episode) was uploaded October 29th, 2018.

roughly six months. LNTAO was a high-production video, and the delay was more than understandable. however, six months compared to two years isn't exactly a fair comparison.

(side tangent: i've seen some people talking about a supposed bonus episode made that was locked to patreon; i don't have patreon nor am i fully informed about the situation or if it's even real so i have no opinion no the matter.)

i have not seen the newest video yet, but i am excited to do so. i have missed these characters greatly and they hold a special place in my heart. but that does not negate my frustrations with thomas + co. about how disjointed this series has become.

in no way am i demanding new content. in this age of the push for endless content consumption, i am not asking nor expecting an indie team such as them to create new episodes every week as it used to be. that would be ridiculous.

i'm asking for clarity. that thomas would occasionally tweet "scripting is 1/2 done!" or "we're slowing sanders sides production to focus on other projects/ensure that the finale product is up to our stands/take a break."

if the thomas and/or team were to say "hey, we're going radio-silent for the next few months to really focus on the finale, don't expect any new content for a while", i would scream for joy. because then at least we would know to wait, and roughly for how long.

it's the fact that we sort of get new unrelated videos at the same time that this really high-production finale is getting workshopped that concerns me. this is not healthy time-management.

it feels disingenuous to keep fans in the dark about a very high-production (and fan-funded given patreon,) end-of-season 4-parter, and announce more merchandise for a series that has felt as though it were abandoned.

i'm certain it's difficult behind the scenes, and i wish the team would let off some of that pressure to release smaller, low-production videos that are slice-of-life and less taxing to create. (probably once a month at best.) or at bare minimum, the fans are better informed on the timeline of production, so that the waiting feels less infinite.

i'm not expecting anything to change. and while i joke about being angry with the team, i'm not. i'm not even disappointed, really.

in truth, i fear for the future of the series if things continue at this rate. and i hope the team takes the time to acknowledge this stagnant feeling within the fandom and take measures to counter it. that's all i can hope for.

tl;dr people have a right to be frustrated with the new video, people have a right to be happy with the new video, and updates on production would be nice, though it shouldn't be expected as much as i hope for it.

Thanks for the question! I'm going to answer for each pairing because it's a little different for each.

Bryce and Olivia: They both took leave when Malia was born so they spent a lot of time together and they loved it. They both did miss work because they know what they do literally saves lives and makes a difference, but they loved their family time. Once they return to the hospital, things pick up as you can imagine, and their schedules were very busy. Olivia particularly felt she didn't get as much consistent time with Malia and Bryce as she wanted, so starts thinking about other options. When she is pregnant with Makoa (their second child), a local pediatrician is retiring and selling their practice, so Olivia buys it and takes it over, rebranding it as Sunshine Pediatrics of Boston. Having her own practice allows her to still practice medicine and help kids, but gives her more consistent scheduling and allows her to choose her own vacation days. Olivia still retains privilages at Edenbrook and will always come back when requested or if a current patient ends up needing hospital care but she enjoys having more time with her kids. It also gives her more time with Bryce which she enjoys too.

Thomas Hunt x Alex: Due to the nature of their careers, when they decided to have children, they discussed what their options were. They didn't want to be on opposite sides of the globe with their children stuck with nannies and tutors. They decided that they would alternate projects and avoid overlapping projects. So Thomas will do a film, while Alex stays with him and takes care of the kids. Then Alex will do a project and Thomas will stay wherever she is filming and watch the kids so they still get to be a family.

Mal and Daenarya: Their whole lives are about their children and the ones around them. They start the orphanage in both my main universe and the Blades 2 AU. Daenarya ends up pregnant in both universes, it's honestly shocking it didn't happen mid book one... anyway... their children are their entire world, and caring for the orphans is their greatest adventure and they would never change it for a minute, even if they have to be quieter and sneakier when enjoying more adult activities. But thankfully the have Threep... he's an excellent distraction, especially once his litter is born.

Troy and Astraea (WTD): I don't know if they have children. They both want them, but they have a hard time justifying bringing a kid into the world they live in. They know the hardships of that world, even if things look better now.

Trystan and Lilah (COP): They both have a lot of baggage. They both have a lot of family issues. I'm not sure if they're going to have children. If they do, it won't be for a long time. I could see them waiting until Lilah's in her mid to late 30s before having kids, or maybe they even end up adopting. But I really am not sure yet. Having kids is not what they prioritize most at least where they are in their relationship now.

Ethan and Ellie: I don't really write these two much (or ever) anymore but they adore their two sons. Both Ethan and Ellie are very good at scheduling and multi tasking. They definitely make time for their children, but also rely on the grandparents to babysit so they can have time alone.

Short Summary: Thomas is a defense attorney working at the public defender's office. Gally is a prosecutor working for the district attorney. They're often against each other in the courtroom and at each other's throats, but in the spirit of "leaving work at work", they find new ways to come together.

How could this not be a fav? It was my child, my passion project, and I adore how it turned out. If there was any one fic I’m glad I put in the fandom, this one would be it.

Of All My Crimes, Teen Wolf, Derek & Allison (gen)

Short Summary: Allison and Derek become fugitives after Allison’s plot to kill Kate takes an even worse turn.

I’m thanking Clod ( @hamartian-cathexis ) for this because she was part of the initial sound boarding for this fic. It’s kind of a story I always wanted to write in some way, I just couldn’t find the right vehicle. I’m really proud of how it turned out. It’s a sad story, but kind of a fun one too.

Red Lights, They Blink Your Name, The Maze Runner, Gally/Minho

Short Summary: Gally’s going to follow that signal, even if it leads him into the dark.

It’s dark, and filled with the yearning of missing someone who you’ve never been without for so long before. It was an alternate/early on concept for Tmrss22 that got pushed aside for Aphelion, so credit to gel ( @singt0me ) for the prompt because without her I wouldn’t have made it and it is one of my favs.

Something Like Sentiment, The Maze Runner, Gally/Thomas

Short Summary: They didn't start out as endearments, but somewhere along the way, Thomas realizes there's more heart in the names Gally calls him than anything else.

I feel so bad for complaining on this one so much — I think I put on WAY too much pressure and was in a stressful time of my life, so I’m sorry clod because your prompt was beautiful and I was being angsty 😅. But now, re-reading this fic? It’s one of my fav thomally modern aus I’ve written and it’s really quite a fun read. It’s also fairly lighthearted which is rare for me lol.

Something Out of Nothing, The Flash + Legends of Tomorrow, Coldflash

Short Summary: Snart may have the cold gun pointed at Barry’s head, but Barry can see that between the two of them, Snart’s the one who’s in trouble.

I loved writing this fic. For me this is kind of like that meme “having two cakes” because the concept is not all that dissimilar to my first coldflash fic ‘getting back to fine’ but the vibe and relationship here is entirely different. Writing Len in this fic was so fun, and Barry’s mounting panic at his loose-tongued vulnerability — it is definitely one of my favs, and as a reader, I tend to re-read this one of mine for pure enjoyment purposes.

Bubba’s gonna be the most excited because he has someone who can sew with him and help him make pretty dresses and fun clothes. 

They have a lot of old fabric, thread and an old sewing machine. 

Nubbins and Chop Top will constantly have holes in their clothes so get ready to stitch those up for them. 

Once it’s confirmed that you’re staying with the Sawyer’s you’ll have to make your own clothes because the only ones you have are the ones on your back and you probably don’t wanna share clothes with the brothers. 

If you’re a similar size to Nubbins or Bubba they’ll let you use them as models for your clothes. 

Drayton will probably end up asking you to make a new suit jacket for him at least once. 

If you’re really good at it he might try to make a profit off of it and sell some of the things you make. 

Billy Lenz

Billy’s super excited you make clothes. He wears the same sweater and pants every day so it’ll be nice to have some new ones. 

If you knit clothes get ready for a lot of requests for sweaters.

 There’s probably an old sewing machine in the attic you can use. You’ll either keep it up there because Billy want’s you to or you’ll keep it in your room. 

I feel like if you knit with him he’ll play with a ball of yarn like a cat would. 

He’s picky about the textures of his clothes and well textures in general this may or may not be because I have issues with textures too so you’ll have to get it approved by him before you start making things. 

He loves seeing you in the clothes you make, especially if it’s tight because well he’s a perv. But he also like more flowy and wider things like bell bottoms which he also wears. If you wear dresses he loves seeing you in sun dresses and flowy dresses. 

Knit him a scarf and some gloves because it can get cold in the attic. You don’t want him catching a cold. 

Otis Driftwood

When he first finds out he’ll probably have you just make things for Baby and their mom. 

He’ll give you old curtins and clothes from victims to use and an old sewing machine. He’ll give you thread from his projects to use too. 

Once he sees how good you are at this he might ask you to make some things for him to wear too. 

His clothes get torn a lot so get ready to patch things up for him. 

If you knit he’ll tease you about being an old woman or something but might end up having you knit clothes for art he’s made or stuff for Baby. 

You might catch him watching you sew or knit from time to time because well. You are his s/o. 

He likes when you make things for yourself too that kinda fit into what the rest of the family wears. He likes seeing you blend into the family and kinda accept that.

- should he ever get a taste of freedom, be it a particularly good experience with some strangers or seeing some pretty scenery on the road, he will chase that high Forever. he craves normalcy in its most wholesome form; saying hello to coworkers, picking up groceries, maybe taking his dog out for a walk and getting take out when hes tired. Hoyt knows this somewhat and makes sure tommy doesnt persue that desire with some nasty words and manipulation. (Personality-wise) - she can be both, which feels a little like a compromise, but it's the truth. she learned to have a very thick skin when she was living in nyc and trying to make a living with her photography, but she's also incredibly empathetic and affectionate with those she's close to & cares about.

2) Which Muse would blow through $1000 quickly? / what would emilia blow $1000 on - camera equipment, and it would be painfully easy to blow the whole 1K not just in one go, but on one piece of tech. lenses are so unfathomly expensive i wonder sometimes how emmy was even able to pay her nyc rent on a regular basis.

3) Do any of them have nicknames? Is there a meaning behind them? - emmy, em, melly are all pretty common. her middle name is rose, so several members of her immediate family would call her rosie. ( which she actually misses, considering who would be the ones to use it. but since her middle name isn't common knowledge / she isn't often asked what her middle name is, there aren't a lot of opportunities for it to come back up. )

4) Are any of them up-to-speed on the latest trends? Anyone more old school? - social media was never her thing ( which is a shame because her instagram probably would have been lovely ), and she was always a fan of vinyl over cds when it came to listening to music. her cameras of choice for recreational photos tended to be older models while saving digital for her professional work for ease of use with clients. fashion was never a huge deal for her ----- she is/was very much a black & neutral color type. and still loves a good jumper.

5) Who has the best relationship with their siblings? - she had a good relationship with both her brothers ( charlie & thomas ). being the youngest and the only girl meant she had two very protective older brothers watching out for her growing up, but they were both able to let her fight ( sometimes literally ) her own battles when she needed to.

6) Karaoke night! Who is likely to grab the mic first and bust out a tune? - it'll take some convincing, but she'll eventually get up there and sing. yes, she has done a spice girls song, and yes, she would do a spice girls song again if given the chance.

7) Who is least likely to enter a beauty pageant/model? - she did some modeling as a favor for a few classmates while she was at NYU for projects and the like, but never anything serious because absolutely not.

8) If your Muses visited a haunted house where actors scare you, who would panic and who would be unfazed? - she doesn't scare easily, ( especially in settings like this where she knows it's all fake ) and surprisingly, she's typically more of a fight over flight type of girl -- but she's still capable of falling prey to a jump scare like anyone else. she'll probably scream-squeak and drop a substantial line of 'fuck!?!?'s.

9) Are any of your Muses particular about taking certain modes of transportation? - she's taken both the tube in london and the nyc subway in her lifetime so she's certainly seen some things ... that being said, she's not really thrilled about heights, so flying was always a bit tricky for her. at least now that's not something she has to be concerned about.

10) Share a little-known fact about any Muse. - emilia has a very keen sense of smell ( which is .... a lot of fun in a post - apocalyptic setting ), and memories for her can be / will be very scent - forward ( which considering her talent for photography / documenting moments visually, i guess would make her a double threat? ). she will ultimately assign a scent to your muse probably without even realizing she's doing it.

i mostly wanna talk about when he DOES talk about his family bc as cute as him being in aknitting club with tawney judy courtney barry and belle is thats like the cute stuff i wanna bite into the LORE because its like idk about y'all but its like the more thomas talks about robert and crystaline and how the dynamics are changing and all its like a part of me cant help but wonder how much of an unreliable narrator he really is. like he talks about how the only times him and robert properly interact/talk is only for business stuff and otherwise they dont talk at all and he blames it all on Crystaline but its like ok. i feel like theres a chance that Crystaline gen not having Robert + Bobby's best interests at heart exists AND at the same time it feels like everything about Thomas' family is changing and he blames Crystaline for all of it. because like. you can TELL he loves his brother, there's literally no denying that, he literally outright says he left his parents to join robert in making the company and he was ok that he was the 2nd best. and in like the "who is?" podcast its said that he left the inheritance position for Saggs Corp bc he knew he couldnt lead that company for shit hes not a leader like his brother. but its like he also outright says that robert is his only connection to the suit world and that without him he'd only have his plants (even though hes able to make friends thru the knitting club and i guess there IS jennifer but she also works under robert so perhaps she doesnt count. smae with the knitting club too maybe since theyre all under COGS inc which again was founded by robert) and its like HOLY FUCKING SHIT HE PUTS SO MUCH OF HIS OWN VALUE INTO THAT GUY. LIKE OR SOMETHING ALONG THOSE LINES. LIKE HE DEADASS THINKS WITHOUT HIM HE'D BE ALL ALONE. AND adding onto that there's also the line about how thomas talks about hwo he loves his plants but he lets robert take and tear up the toons land because its good for the company, which his brother cares about, so he cares about it too. and he says something about how it'd be best for mary to keep her opinions down or something like that for the future or something like that and its like idk about you but that FEELS like projection on his part it really REALLY does because in that one treasure trove zip file in the phone call between him and robert he DID bring up worries about the toons fighting back and robert was like "nah its gonna be fine they'll stay in their lane" and thomas was like "ok i believe you because you are my brother" ITS LIKE. HE WILL FOLLOW ROBERT TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH. AND AT THE SAME TIME HE FEELS LIKE HES BECOME 5TH BEST TO ROBERT. AND ITS LIKE. Its clearly not ALL crystaline, i mean robert is the one running the company and hes just getting more and more pissed off at the toons and according to a twitter comic its gotten to the point where the company is on the verge of going bankrupt because they spend so much on anti-toon security its like. sure we don't see all of it but its like i get the impression that robert himself is digging a deeper hole for himself (metaphorically) and hes changing for the worst, at least in thomas' eyes. but like he can't accept that. so he's blaming all of it on crystaline. and he thinks that if she was just gone, that everything would be ok again, and he'd have his brother and even nephew back (i mean the fact that last year he said bobby jr was being more distant towards him and he was like "eh its ok its all a part of growing up" and now this year he LITERALLY MADE A SWEATER FOR BOBBY and bobby rejected it because it wasn't a "good financial decision" its like bobby jr is a kid so idk he probs learned it from somewhere who knows but its like either way AUGH) but unless something really big changes it might not. and i think he probs knows that, in a way, but he cant accept that. after all, again, he literally thinks that without robert all he has are his plants. he feels like he depends on his family, his brother, to that extent.

Just adding my 2 cents no one asked for into the debate but what I find so sad about your last "insecure" anons is their lack of belief in love :/ which I kinda understand because it seems that it’s getting more and more challenging for people nowadays to be in a successful long term relationship, and there’s many reasons to that that I won’t dig into but, wow… seriously guys, love is hard, and love can be deceiving at times, but I swear if you commit to it and you found a good match for you it can work! People give up on love so easily nowadays in my opinion, and they don’t believe in it anymore, I really find it so sad… And just an example from my own experience: I’ve been with my partner for a decade now. Recently he’s been super busy because he got a promotion at work and he’s really focused on making a good impression to his superiors. In the meantime my work is pretty chill, I have some good time on my hands, so I’ve been doing a lot of stuff on my own (I’m an introvert so it’s a blessing lol), and I’ve also been going out with my friends when I feel like I need to get out of our home. My situation could potentially be compared to jikook’s right now (from what we suppose about it at least). When my boyfriend has some time off he would rather spend some quality time with me at home rather than going out because he’s quite tired. We still spend most of our evenings together, having a good meal while watching a series, and our relationship is doing good! My partner is happy he got the promotion he wanted, I’m super proud of him, the fact that we don’t go out a lot these days says nothing about the quality of our relationship right now… Sorry I’m literally talking about my uninteresting life lol but for real, don’t presume you know people’s life when you’re not part of it, especially when it comes to celebrities. I have no idea if jikook do live together or not, I think they’re a couple though and I don’t worry about them they seem like a strong couple, so if you don’t think they’re together it’s okay, but if you do I’d say don’t panic lol. In any case it’s their lives, they know what they’re doing.

I think Thomas needs a dedicated community manager or something if he doesn't want to face criticism directly or is too busy to give updates on what he's working on every week. One thing I particularly don't like is how it feels like he schedules the livestreams almost last minute, especially for weekdays in the evening for him, but at incredibly awkward times for other zones, often falling in the middle of the workday or late at night. This is particularly egregious for the writer's rooms, which aren't archived for people who can't attend live and makes me wonder why I am paying him $25 a month for a "bonus" that I can't participate in or even see what I missed, and that occurs less than monthly. I understand that he's busy and things slip through the cracks, but this is a pattern now and it seems so haphazardly slapped together that it feels like the Patreon is no longer a priority for him. I definitely feel like he was much more consistent about doing monthly livestreams when he was doing them for the YouTube members for $5 a month with no bonuses, and at least those were archived for months until he switched to Patreon.

Sorry for the rant but these frustrations have been building up more and more. It's been two years since the Patreon started, Thomas and his crew should have had things better organized by now, or at least give the Patreon patrons some actual updates instead of spending all of his time on Twitter.

I understand your frustration and it makes sense that, after two years, you expect some more organization.

There could be a lot of reasons why Thomas' Patreon is still so disorganized: maybe Mr. Sanders doesn't have the actual time to work on it, he's too busy with other projects or he just doesn't feel like doing it.

And it's a real shame, because a lot of people use Patreon in great ways. I am not an expert, but as far as I know, some creators use it regularly and make it worth every cent people are paying. Some give updates about the progress of their works, including the most technical aspects (materials, softwares, editing, hiring process etc). Others show a lot of behind-the-scenes or post small previews of their projects before the full thing comes out. Others use it to talk with their followers and develop a stronger relationship.

There are a lot of possibilities and it’s very sad Mr. Sanders doesn't want to make the most of them. His Patreon doesn't give me the idea of a place regularly checked or fully exploited, but rather of a big room simply used as storage, in which sometimes Thomas puts a new box, then leaves again.

Don't get me wrong: if he doesn't want to spend too much time on it, he's free to do so. However, it would also look very unprofessional, because Patreon's purpose is exactly  to interact with people, give them something and make their money worth. Leaving something once in a while isn't exactly professional. And just like the other big problem of the series (the lack of a full outline), could be solved by hiring a professional who deals with it on Thomas’ behalf.

Speaking of leaving stuff, there is the mistery behind the livestreams. I tried so, so hard to understand why Thomas decided to keep the livestreams around for a very short time, then delete them. I am still searching for a reason and I still cannot find it. Why deleting them? What about the people who cannot watch them because of plans/personal problems/different timezones and want to watch them days later? What if they’re busy and cannot watch them days, but weeks later? They lose the chance, because the livestream disappeared.

Really, I have no explanation for this, so if someone knows something and can give me an explanation that makes sense, I would really appreciate it.
