Interfering with a Love Life
The pub was cramped, every corner, every table filled with people as chatter and laughter deafened the music playing through the speakers. Drunk old men sat at the bar and bothered the poor, exhausted barkeep who had half an hour left in his shift, his eyes flicking to the clock every 5 minutes as the old men roared with laughter.
Remus was staring at you, sneaky with his gaze as he watched you smile, giggle, joke and talk; he only looked away when you glanced at him briefly, sipping his beer as he pretended to listen to James rambling to Peter about just how difficult Quidditch could be.
Sirius was at the bar himself, flirting with the man next to him to get free drinks (Remus always rolled his eyes, but Sirius always ended up walking away with free drinks for everyone at the table).
Lily was talking to you about wedding dress shopping, Remus quite invested into the conversation as he listened to you gush about how a sweetheart neckline (whatever that was) and perhaps a mermaid dress (he wondered if that was even a thing) would look amazing on the red-haired girl.
A couple minutes later, Sirius finally walked over with a round of drinks in his hands, passing them out to everyone.
"God, that bloke was such a creep." He murmured, digging into Marlene's bag for a cigarette pack.
"Uh, Sirius, you got me a cider." Remus complained, lifting the bottle so Sirius could see the lable.
"So?"
"So I don't like ciders."
"You don't like ciders?" You asked, bewildered at his taste.
"Yeah, I think they're too sweet." He shrugged.
You took the cider bottle away from him and smiled as you drank a sip.
"More for me, then."
Remus rolled his eyes, smiling as he did so, and he stood up from his chair, taking his jacket off and placing it on the chair, establishing his claim as he checked his jeans' pockets for money.
"Right, I'm going to the bar. Does anyone want anything?"
Everyone shook their heads and said no, Remus walking over to the bar as Sirius lit up his cigarette, ignoring Marlene's scolds as James gagged at his 'disgusting' habit.
Remus ordered a beer, to which the barmaid had to run down to change the keg, leaving the man standing there as he leaned against the wooden counter.
Another man had walked up next to him, same age as Remus, maybe a tad bit older, as he ordered an old-fashioned from the other barkeep, leaning in the same way Remus did against the bar.
"Oi," The man had attempted to get Remus' attention, quite rudely, but nevertheless Remus turned to face him.
"You having a good night?" The man attempted to make small talk, tapping his fingers against the wood as he grinned at Remus.
"Yeah." He replied, just wanting to be left alone.
"Oh, good. Listen, that girl you're with, over there?" The man had pointed to you over his shoulder.
"Yeah?"
"I was wondering if she's single."
The barmaid had replaced the keg, it seemed, as she handed Remus his cold glass of beer. He gripped onto it strongly, sighing as he reminded himself to be calm and tell the truth. You weren't dating, much to his dismay. Why should he interfere with your love life?
"No, she isn't."
Apparently, Remus decided to interfere with your love life that night.
"Oh. Who's she with?"
"This really strong guy, he's also got insane anger issues."
"Oh yeah?" The man tilted his head.
"Yeah."
"Well, I don't see him anywhere." The man grinned, taking a sip of his whiskey whilst Remus' jaw clenched.
"Well he's here."
"Really?"
"Yeah, and if he knew that you were talking like this, he wouldn't hesitate to punch you across your face and kick the living shit out of you."
The man chuckled. "Trust me, he wouldn't get a chance to try."
It was as if the stars aligned when you walked up to Remus and wrapped your hands around his arm.
"Remmy, why are you taking so long?" You whined, clearly a bit tipsy as you rested your head on his shoulder.
"Are you missing me?" He grinned, finding humour in the man's suddenly afraid expression.
"Yeah, Siri and James are being stupid and the girls are talking about going to Vegas, and I just wanna go to bed." You yawned, closing your eyes against Remus' arm as he chuckled and shifted his arm around your shoulder so you could rest your head against his chest.
"Okay, I'm coming back now." He grabbed his beer and smirked at the man who gulped and looked away from his intimidating stare whilst the two of you walked away.
"I heard you by the way." You mumbled.
"You did?
"Yeah," You looked up at him and grinned.
"It's nice having such a protective boyfriend."
Remus repricated your grin, and ruffled your hair.
"It's nice having such a beautiful girlfriend."
You blushed, though you hid your face in his chest.
The next morning, you woke up with your head on Remus' bare chest as he twirled your hair between his fingers, staring at you with tired eyes and a smile on his face.

Clashing Teeth- Wolfstar
~~~♤~~~
Remus and Sirius have been fighting, a lot.
It started when Remus had called Sirius a slut after he had snogged Emmaline Vance at a party. Sirius openly and proudly admits to being one but he didn't think Remus needed to say it like it was such a terrible word.
So Sirius, ever the petty revenge queen that he was, decided to fight back. And they have been, nonstop, for two weeks.
Eventually the others had had enough, they couldn't watch this go on any longer. James forced them both into the common room, surrounded by all of their friends,
"The two of you have been at each other's throats for two weeks now, what the hell is going on?" He demanded.
Sirius snorted, "Well, Prongs. I think Moons and I have been 'at each other's throats' because he's too afraid to admit something."
Remus glared at him, "And what might that be, Pads?" He scowled.
Sirius sighed, "Well there's multiple things." He gave Remus a meaningful look, "But the one I'm referring to now would be that you're secretly jealous of all the girls I'm pulling."
"I am not."
"That isn't what I gathered from you last night when we got into that fight about-"
Remus jumped up from the couch, pulling out his wand, "I will hex you right now!" He threatened,
Peter stepped between them, holding out his hands, "Woah! Guys, come on! What is this? You two have never acted like this before!"
"You want to tell them what's changed, Pads?" Remus called, still furious, "Cause I think everyone in here would like to know what's got you acting like an arsehole."
"Oh, I'm the arsehole here? I'm not the one who's jealous! If it's really that big of a deal, why don't you go out there and snog someone yourself?" Sirius shouted back. Remus' glare was cold enough to kill a man,
"Is that really what you think the solution is here? I should just go snog a bunch of people?"
"Well it's not like you're fucking dating anyone is it?" Sirius' voice suddenly broke. He turned to James, "I'm done with this conversation." He stood and stormed out of the room.
Everyone was silent, Dorcas cleared her throat after a few minutes had past, "Rem, I'm gonna be honest, I don't think any of us understood any of that." She told him. Remus groaned and sunk back down onto the couch, his head in his hands.
"Look, Remus, whatever is going on between you two can be worked out, but I don't think you're really listening to each other." Lily sat down beside him, her voice kind, "Maybe just try to hear what he's telling you."
"I know what he's telling me. That's the problem." He muttered, rubbing at his temples, "It's him who's not listening every time I tell him that I just don't think it's possible to work things out his way."
"What even started this?" Alice asked. Peter gave a nervous laugh,
"He, uh... He called Sirius a slut." He explained. Alice stared blanky,
"I thought Sirius calls himself that too?"
Peter nodded, "He does, but... well-"
"But I meant it." Remus spat, the muscles in his jaw tight, "I said it to hurt him."
"Oh." Alice looked down, stepping back next to Frank again.
"Why don't you go talk to him, Moons, maybe you can figure out a compromise." James offered. Remus laughed,
"This is the compromise." He shook his head, "He gets to do his fucking random people thing and..." He looked away, "Well, we're both compromising, okay? Neither of us is willing to give in."
"What are your options?" Dorcas asked, "Maybe we can help you both decide?"
Remus shook his head again, "No, this is between Sirius and I." He stood, turning to the stairs, "I'm going to bed, I'll see you all in the morning."
He closed the curtains around his four poster, not wanting James or Peter to bug him like they inevitably will. He understood they all don't like seeing him and Sirius fight, but this just wasn't something they could help with.
Remus thought back to the look on Sirius' face, the hurt in his eyes when he'd brought up the dating thing.
The issue they'd been having was they were secretly sleeping together... a lot. They had sex even more than they fought. It was amazing, probably one of the greatest things Remus had ever experienced, even better than chocolate after the full moon.
But Sirius wanted more than that, he wanted a relationship, a fully exclusive, everyone knowing about them, holding hands in the corridor kind of relationship. And Remus didn't think he was ready for that.
Sirius was understanding, of course, he'd never want to out Remus to their friends if Remus wasn't comfortable. But Remus kept denying he was gay at all, just that Sirius happened to be really good at sex.
After that, Sirius made the decision that if they weren't exclusive, he'd start seeing other people too. Remus was pretty sure he was just hurt that Remus didn't want to be with him, but he didn't say that. They continued this way for the last two weeks, taking out their frustrations on each other through loud arguments and lots of sex.
Neither of them were willing to let up, but neither of them wanted the sex to stop either, so they just kept fighting. Sirius refused to stop sleeping with other people if Remus didn't want to be with him, even just in secret, and Remus refused to be in a relationship because he wasn't gay.
The night of the party he'd snapped in front of everyone, calling Sirius a slut. He'd been angry, furious at the thought other people's lips on him, other people holding him the way that Remus was meant to hold him.
The door swung open, slamming into the wall. He knew immediately who it was, it was the same way Sirius had been walking into the room for the last two weeks, full of pent up rage and hunger.
"Remus." His voice was low, dangerous.
Remus opened the curtains and got out of bed, standing in front of him and drawing himself to his full height. He looked down at Sirius, his eyes searching his face.
He knew what he would usually find there, an expression that mimicked his own swirling emotions. But Sirius wasn't like that this time, his anger was gone, he looked up at Remus with eyes filled with so much hurt,
"Why don't you want me?" He asked quietly.
Remus faltered, he'd forgotten during this short time they'd spent like this that Sirius was still his best friend, before their relationship turned so physical, Sirius was Sirius. He felt his heart soften immediately,
"Pads-" He whispered, pulling him into a hug. Sirius sniffed, burying his face into Remus' shoulder,
"I know you aren't looking for a relationship and- and I've been trying to accept that... But it feels like everytime we do this I'm losing you. Like it's not us anymore."
Remus sighed and pulled back just enough to get him to look up, "I love you." He whispered, "You're my best friend and you always will be. I'm sorry I've been so cold recently."
"I'm sorry too." Sirius shook his head, "I knew how angry it made you to see me with them, I should have never tired to hurt you that way."
Remus swallowed. He glanced down at the floor, "Sirius-" He whispered, his voice breaking, "I was angry because I don't want you to be with any of those people. I-" He took a deep breath, "I want you to be with me. Just me. I want to be your... your boyfriend."
Sirius' eyes widened, a flicker of hope Remus hadn't seen for two weeks reigniting, "What?"
"I think I'm in love with you. I'm sorry I've been too scared to say it, I didn't know what I wanted and it terrified me. But I know that I love you, and that I always have. And I want to spend every minute of my day loving you."
"Really?" He whispered. Remus nodded,
"Really."
Sirius leaned up and kissed him, and for the first time it wasn't gripping shirts and clashing teeth, it was soft, careful and full of love. Remus melted into it, he didn't want to hate himself for wanting this anymore. Sirius Black loved him, and that was the best thing he could ever ask for.
"So... you really want this?" He gestured between them, "You want to be my boyfriend?"
Remus nodded, "I do." He smiled and kissed him again, "I want to kiss you like this and not care who sees us."
Sirius beamed up at him, "I thought you didn't want other people to know?"
Remus lifted a shoulder, "I was scared, but I don't want to hide the part of me that loves you anymore."
Sirius intertwined their fingers, "So... we can tell the others sometime?" He asked. Remus nodded towards the door,
"We can tell them now, if you want." He saw the look on Sirius' face and knew he was dying to share the news with them.
Sirius immediatley tugged his hand, pulling him down the stairs and into the common room.
"Oh, thank Merlin you're both okay. I thought Pads went up there to kill you." James sighed, wiping a hand over his forehead.
"So you guys really are okay now?" Peter asked, glancing between them skeptically as though he was waiting for them to break into a fight any second now. Sirius nodded, his smile bright enough to light up the room,
"Better then okay."
Marlene shot a glance down at their hands, then at Remus' own shy smile. She gasped dramatically, "No way!" She shouted, "And you never even told us?!"
Remus cleared his throat, "Well, it's a little complicated." He laughed.
Peter raised an eyebrow, "What are you talking about?"
"The fighting, the slamming doors, the glaring, it all makes so much sense now!" She rambled on. Dorcas placed a hand on her arm,
"Marls, in english please?" She laughed.
"They've been secretly having sex! I knew it was sexual tension I was sensing between you two!"
The rest of the group gasped and turned back to them, most eyeing their hands with new eyes,
"Is that true?" James asked. Sirius smiled brightly again,
"Everyone, I'd like you to meet Remus John Lupin..." He glanced at him, his eyes filled with awe, "My boyfriend."
Gasps and cheers erupted from their friends. Lily immediatley stood up to throw her arms around them both,
"I'm so happy for you!" She laughed, hugging them tightly. Frank held up his hands,
"Wait, wait, wait. Remus is gay?" He asked incredolously.
Sirius nervously looked at him again. Remus took in a deep breath and nodded,
"Yeah." He tried to sound confident, "I am."
The group congratulated them, James immediatley gushing to Lily about all the double date possibilities.
Marlene and Dorcas hugged them, letting them know they were proud to have them in the club.
The rest of the night was spent just like old times, talking and laughing until it was really late and everyone was yawning.
The only difference now was Remus was allowed to touch Sirius and not feel guilty for it, he ran his fingers through his hair, kissing his cheek every once in a while.
They went to sleep in Remus' bed that night, not needing to keep it a secret or worry about being caught.
Remus had never been happier.
the end of sixth year swung in with the looming promise of n.e.w.ts the upcoming year. in the opinion of the marauders, that was the perfect time to throw a party in the room of requirement, mixing all houses, and eventually all of the upper years too. word spread like wildfire when it came to a marauder blow out.
remus scanned the room for you, not worried about being obvious. sirius was making out with some seventh year guy in the corner, james and lily were still in that sickening honeymoon phase where nothing exists but the other, and peter was running an elaborate gambling scheme - with chocolate frog cards.
then his eyes found you. and they couldn't leave. you were still the most awe inspiring person he'd ever seen. his jaw still dropped after the best part of seven months.
it took every single ounce of energy from every bone in his body to not walk up to you and shower you with the millions of compliments springing to his mind, some not as pure as others.
he was readying himself to keep control and greet you regularly, like a friend. and this his eye caught the boy approaching you for a conversation. he decided to wait until you were done talking.
the drink he was holding almost spilled in his grip when he realised the boy was not just talking. he was touching. not a friendly shoulder nudge, not a drunken knock, not a brotherly poke.
no, the guy was attempting to slip an arm around your shoulder, trying to make you laugh and lean into him. instead you stood stiffly, gripping your drink as tight as remus was gripping his. you gave the boy a restrained smile, eyes searching the room.
you swept your gaze across the crowd, desperately trying to locate remus as you shifted away from the other guy. the lipstick that matched your outfit was starting to stretch with the smile you forced. you didn't want to upset the guy, there was nothing wrong with him, but you simply weren't interested.
"look, i erm, i'm seeing someone."
you craned your neck to the right and locked stares with remus, silently pleading for him to come over.
the boy chuckled, "and he left you all alone at this party? don't you wanna dance with someone?"
you laughed awkwardly, relieved to see remus appear in front you.
"i didn't leave her alone. off you go."
the guy spluttered, "er- sorry mate, i didn't-"
remus smirked, looping his own arm around you as the other removed his. he didn't reply to the stammering, leading you away instead as you leaned into his side.
"thanks rem. where we going?"
"just out for a breather."
as it turned out, the breather didn't involve breathing so much as fast paced making out that left your lips tingling and parted with the gloss smeared on the side. with a giggle, your realised there was a shiny pink tinge to remus' as well.
he smiled down at you, "think we blew our cover?"
you laughed breathlessly, "probably."
Remus had fancied Sirius Black since he was 10 years old. Back then, his crush seemed simple. Remus had the illusion that Sirius would one day feel the same and they would confess their feelings and ride a horse into the sunset. To be fair, every reference he had of romance were novels and Disney Movies.
Since Sirius was home schooled the only friend in his life was Remus. So Remus had no one to compare himself to. But now it was different.
Teenage Sirius had conquered the hearts of mostly every student at his school. Sirius was popular. He had a solid group of friends which were amazing. And he was no longer the boy that thought girls were gross and never wanted to have a girlfriend.
Sirius was a true Casanova now. Of course. The wanker was gorgeous. He attracted every girl at Hogwarts.
Having a crush on Sirius now was the worst. It was totally a nightmare. Remus wasn't innocent anymore. He had changed. Ever since he came out as trans, he had less chance with a very heterosexual Sirius.
Remus and Sirius were close as before. And oh how much Remus adored him. But he had to endure with Sirius' multiple girls.
The first time they saw each other after five years, Sirius' girlfriend Julie made a scene in front of Remus.
"You promised you were going to spend the day with me and you stood me up, Sirius! Do you think that's fair?"
"Remus came to visit me, Juls... He... He is a special friend for me. I haven't see him ages!"
Julie was not necessarily annoying. For what Remus heard, she had the right to be angry. Sirius didn't take their relationship seriously. And it seemed like it wasn't the first time he stood her up.
"Come on... Don't be angry with me" Sirius made his classic puppy eyes that worked on Julie.
"You are so immature" she was smiling.
God, Remus hated how Julie was naturally beautiful. She was older than Sirius. She wasn’t wearing any makeup. Her hair looked amazing in that ponytail. At that time, Remus was barely starting his T treatment and he was very insecure.
When they kissed, Remus looked away because it hurt. It broke Remus' heart how he realized he still have feelings for his friend and how it was very impossible for them to be together.
He had to bury this crush deep into his heart. Even if he had to take it to the grave.
When Remus got to Hogwarts, Sirius had broken up with Julie. But his relationship with an older girl had given him a reputation. Sirius was even more desirable. But the thing was that he didn't want to have a serious relationship anymore.
"Having a girlfriend is slaving, Moony" he used to say "I am a free spirit. I want to have fun and do what I want without a girl nagging me about it"
But that didn’t stop Sirius from snogging girls once in a while at parties. The first times, watching those scenes, made Remus' chest ache. All of them were pretty and confident. Something Remus would never be during his transition. But the thought that comforted him as he got used to it was that those flings never lasted long.
Besides, it was Remus who Sirius looked for comfort, for a serious talk, for a cigarette. Sirius may have many girls, but Remus would always be constant in his life. Remus was the good friend. He knew Sirius' secrets. He loved to know what to say to make Sirius laugh. He loved that Sirius drew things on his arms during class. Or that Sirius took care of him. That they had a special connection. That Sirius called him Moony. It made him feel special. It differentiated him from all those girls.
There were times that Sirius was so close, that said certain things that made Remus think: "Wow, what if he loves me?". It gave Remus the illusion that something beautiful could happen between them. Until Sirius kissed another girl and Remus' bubble was crushed.
There were sometimes when Remus couldn't hide his jealousy. Like when those girls were so clingy of Sirius and flirted with him on Remus' face. He would mock their stupid giggles and then cleared his throat pretending to be coughing when he was caught.
"Sorry... Got something on my throat"
Sirius always smiled amused. As he knew. That fucking bastard.
It wasn't until Marlene that Remus felt threatened. Marlene was one of the coolest girls Remus had ever met. She was outgoing, funny, said what she wanted when she wanted. Like she wasn’t afraid of anything. Besides, Remus had gotten closer with her. Remus hadn't had girl friends before but with Lily, Mary and Marlene, it was easy. They had become Remus' friends.
And Marlene wasn't one of the other girls that flirted with Sirius like an idiot. On the contrary, she was constantly making fun of him, putting him on his place. There was no sign of her fancying him. But that was not what James thought.
"Come on, Pads" he said "Someone who is giving this constant attention has to fancy you. That's why Marly is constantly bothering you, to hide her inner feelings"
Remus had been relieved when Sirius laughed his butt out.
"If Marlene fancies me, then Professor McGonagall is utterly in love with you, Prongsie"
James raised his hands "It could be"
Sirius shook his head "You're crazy"
Remus was content that Sirius was a free spirit, that he would never be serious with a girl (at least for now). Maybe one day, Sirius would fall in love and get married. But wishfully until then Remus had managed to get over him.
Remus didn't expect for Sirius to be interested in Marlene though. It was Remus' seventeenth birthday and the Marauders organized a huge party for him and James. The idea was sell tickets for the party to help Remus save money for his top surgery. By this point, Remus had been very grateful towards his friends. He knew he was lucky. And yes, finding that all of it had been Sirius' idea, made Remus love him more. But he decided to put those feelings aside. Because he was just content to have a good friend like that. He couldn't ask for more.
But on that party, Marlene showed up with a beautiful tight dress with a neckline. And Marlene was always pretty. But she was more attractive than ever.
Sirius was staring.
"You look really nice, Marly"
She looked pretty nice.
Marlene blushed for some reason.
"I feel really stupid" Marlene murmured.
"Nice job" Remus heard James whispering on Mary's ear. And they hit palms in conspiracy. It was obvious what they were trying to do. They were trying to pair them up. It was okay. James didn’t know about Remus' feelings. And that his throat had gone dry.
As the party carried on, Sirius wanted to spend time with Remus and only Remus. Following him around like a puppy. Although Remus caught him throwing glances at Marlene once in a while.
They hid in the kitchen of the Shrieking Shack, smoking weed and chatting for hours. And for a second, Remus forgot about everything. He could pretend Sirius was only his.
"You're amazing, Moony" Sirius said after Remus had said something stupid to make him laugh.
"You are amazing too" Remus swallowed.
"Oh I know that already, Moons" Sirius joked.
Remus rolled his eyes.
"Well I will shut up now"
As Sirius laughed, Remus wondered if he could kiss him now and then pretend it had been the weed or something.
But Marlene came into the kitchen in that second.
"What's up, fuckers?"
"Hey Marly" Remus smiled.
She went directly to serve herself a drink. She was dancing and singing to the music. And Remus noticed Sirius couldn't take his eyes away from her.
"Marlene looks pretty hot with that dress, don't you think Moony?" Sirius whispered in Remus' ear.
Remus felt suddenly very cold and nauseated.
"It is not her style" Remus commented, taking a drag of the joint.
"Exactly! I've always seen Marlene as Marlene... Not like a girl, you know?"
"But she is a girl, Pads"
"Yeah but you know what I mean... A girl girl..." his eyes fixed on how Marlene swallowed her drink in one gulp. And proceeded to serve another. What was this girl trying to do, get herself drunk?
"Do you actually think she fancies me?" Sirius continued whispering. Remus wished he would just shut up.
"I don't know..."
Sirius nodded, taking a sip of his own drink.
"I mean maybe she wore that dress for me"
Remus wanted to punch Sirius.
"What's the difference?" he asked a little annoyed "You don't fancy her anyway, Pads... Right?"
Remus hated how his voice trembled at the end. Sirius didn't answer. He just shrugged and smiled.
"Right, Pads?"
"I mean we are always bickering and bothering each other..." Sirius answered "I haven't even thought about flirting with her..."
Remus was going to be sick.
"What are you whispering about?" Marlene interrupted them "Have something to say, Black?"
Sirius smiled at her the way he always did with other girls. With Marlene he was always rolling his eyes or making stupid jokes. But not anymore.
"I was telling Moony that you haven't drank with me"
Marlene rolled her eyes.
"Well... Keep up dickhead... You are too sober"
As Marlene drank more, Sirius whispered in Remus' ear again.
"Would you leave us alone, Moony?"
Remus was panicking. What the hell was going on? This surely was a nightmare. He had to wake up.
"What are you going to do?" Remus asked, trying to sound casual "She is tipsy, Sirius"
"Still whispering about me, idiots?" Marlene tutted "I am gonna go..."
"No wait!" Sirius stoop up "Let's have a drink together... Remus was just leaving. Right?"
Remus was frozen on the cold floor.
"Why are you leaving?" Marlene asked clueless. She definitely didn't sound sober.
Sirius was pleading with his eyes. And in that second, Remus lost hope. Marlene wasn't a girl to fool around. If Sirius tried something with her, it had to be serious. He would have to treat her like a gentleman. Because Marlene didn't deserver nothing less. And Marlene was Remus' friend. He couldn't hate her. It would only complicate things.
Remus didn't want to leave. But he didn't have an excuse not to. Unless he would confess his feelings for Sirius now. Which was inappropriate because it was obvious Sirius didn't feel the same.
"I..." Remus stood up as well "I have to supervise the music... People won't like this"
Remus looked between the two and his heart broke into a million pieces.
"Yeah go do that, Moony" Sirius winked clueless of how much he had hurt Remus.
And Marlene was still very confused.
"Okay see ya, Remus" she shrugged.
"You are actually attractive tonight" Sirius said as Remus walked away in a very slow pace. "Who are you and what have you done with my friend Marly?"
Marlene snorted "First off all, I am not your friend and second of all go fuck yourself, asshole!"
Sirius laughed amused.
"So if we are not friends, what are we?"
"Barely acquienteces..." Marlene said.
"Or maybe something else..."
"Like what?"
Remus couldn't listen anymore. He grabbed the first bottle of alcohol he encountered and gulped its insides trying to swallow the pain he was feeling. So this was what it felt like to have his heart broken. It hurt. It hurt like nothing else.
Remus drank until he managed to get numb. He didn't know how much time had passed. But he had been sitting on that couch for ages. With his eyes puffed and red. He had cried at some point. But he didn't even remember it. He was really dizzy. He was sure if he moved just a little everything would start to spin around again.
"Jesus, Remus" James was saying in front of him "How much did you drink?"
Remus didn't know how he got there or how much time James had been talking to him.
"How are we going to get him to the castle?"
Lily was also there. Remus smiled at her but she just looked worried.
"I really tried to give him water but he just kept yelling at me"
Peter was next to him as well. Apparently he had been there for a long time.
"Peetee... Peetee...." Remus chanted before buring his face on Peter's shoulder.
"Please don't vomit on me, Remus"
Remus just hummed in response.
Remus heard voices after that. Mary was there too. Remus heard her voice and smelled her perfume.
"We are going now, Peter!" another voice said "I am not going to get in trouble for your drunk friend"
"Susy... I cannot leave him like that..."
"Nobody forced him to drink like that, didn't they?" Susan buffed "He did that on himself"
Remus heard people discussing until he felt Peter's shoulder being replaced by Lily's or maybe Mary's. It was a girly shoulder.
"What happened?"
Sirius' voice made Remus opened his eyes.
"Remus drank like a wanker, that's what happened"
Sirius was kneeling in front of Remus with a worried expression. Remus hated him. He hated him with all his heart.
"Moony..."
"Remus has a high tolerance for alcohol. He must've drank a lot"
Marlene was speaking. And Remus didn't want to hate her but shit he did at the moment. It was not her fault.
"I don't know..." James said "Peter found him this way"
"Where is Peter?" Sirius asked
"Susan dragged him into the castle" Lily sighed.
"He left? He abandoned us? We were supposed to clean everything together... Bloody wanker!"
"I think it was the bitch of his girlfriend, mate" James added.
"Where were you two?" Mary asked.
Remus saw how Sirius and Marlene smiled at each other. And he felt strong nauseas.
"Oh my God!" Mary squealed "You were together, weren't you?" she smirked "What happened?"
"Nothing!" Marlene blushed.
"Let's not talk about this now..." Sirius said "We have to sober Moony up"
Remus felt Sirius' hands on his knees but he couldn't do anything else. He was too dizzy to move.
"You definitely snogged, didn't you?" James' intention was to tease.
But that was the last drop that made Remus puke on Sirius' shinny shoes.
Everyone gasped and yelled in disgust.
Sirius' expression made Remus giggle afterwards. The perfect revenge. Sirius deserved it.
"Gotcha, pretty boy"
Remus' giggles broke up the tension and everyone started laughing, except for Sirius.
"It is not funny!" he shinned "These were my favorite shoes!"
Remus sobered up as they got to the castle. But I the process of keeping Remus steady and sneaking in undetected, they were spotted by Filch. McGonagall gave the group of Gryffindors detention. It wasn't that bad since she thought they had been drinking out in and had not organized a big party with half the school in an abandoned house in the middle of the woods and worse charge the entrance. They surely would've been expelled.
The worst of all was that Sirius blamed Remus for getting caught. Sirius wasn't Remus' favorite person right now, so he was bottling up his anger.
"Why did you have to drink like that, Remus?" Sirius asked as they got to their dorm. Remus was craving his bed.
"It was my birthday party and I wanted to bloody drink, what is your problem?"
"That was irresponsable! You could've been poisoned by too much alcohol!"
Remus snorted "Everyone else was drinking..."
"Not like a bloody animal!"
"Fuck you, Sirius" Remus murmured.
"What?"
"Let's go to bed, shall we?" James intervened "It's been a long night and we are going to wake up Peter..."
"Let's wake the fucking traitor up!" Sirius yelled.
"Sorry lads..." Peter murmured from his bed "Susan is graduating this year and she wants a clean record..."
"We don't give a shit about what your stupid girlfriend wants, Wormtai!"
"Oh fuck yourself, Sirius!"
"Why is everyone against me?"
Sirius looked at James and the latter shrugged.
"Maybe because you are a twat, Sirius"
"What did I ever do to you, Remus?"
"Nothing! You are just bloody perfect with your perfect hair and your perfect face and everything about you is perfect!" Remus was pushing Sirius away with his finger "You have to have everyone wanting you, right?"
"Remus, what..." It was James trying to intervene but Remus stopped him.
"Why Marlene, Sirius?" Remus continued "I won't let you hurt her, okay? She is my friend as well"
"Padfoot!" Peter exclaimed "You and Marlene?"
"Yes, Peter!" Remus answered "But Sirius doesn't give shit about her, just like every other girls are he fucks up with"
Sirius was angry now. He pushed Remus.
"Why do you have to assume that? I would never hurt Marlene, idiot!"
James sighed "Lads... Please... We are going to wake up everyone in the Gryffindor Tower..."
Remus ignored him. To be fair, he was still slightly drunk, tired and with vomit flavor on his mouth. But above all he was jealous. Really jealous.
"Are you gonna date her then? Are you going to be the perfect boyfriend she deserves?"
Remus knew it would hurt if he said yes but he didn't want Marlene to suffer.
Sirius didn't answer.
"Padfoot... Marly is like my sister" James added "You are not going to hurt her, right?"
Sirius looked furious.
"Why do I have to be the one to hurt her? Why do you think that of me?"
"Because you are fucking selfish womanizer!" Remus spat.
'And I bloody love you'
Sirius shook his head.
"Fuck you, Remus"
"Pads..." James sighed "We just want to know if you actually fancy Marly"
"We are just friends that's all, okay?" Sirius walked to his bed. But Remus was shaking his head. That twat. Maybe he had already become bored of Marlene.
"And leave me the fuck alone!" Sirius added "All of you!"
James tried to apologize and be nice. The gentleman he was. But Remus didn't care anymore. He dropped into bed without caring about changing or brushing his teeth and he fell asleep fast.
A week later, Marlene came out to the whole friend group as a lesbian. Turned out that she had a crush on Dorcas Meadowes. And she made the stupid mistake of trying to make her jealous with Sirius.
"You are gay, Marly?" Remus couldn't avoid smiling. It was selfish to think that way but Remus was relieved Marlene was out of the market.
"Yes, Lupin. That's what I said"
"Here, have a muffin" Remus giggled happily.
Marlene raised an eyebrow.
"Cheers, love" she took a bite of the muffin.
Then Remus felt immensely guilty for behaving like a jealous possessive wanker. He had been horrible to Sirius, thinking he had always snogged Marlene for one night and then pretended he wasn't interested. Remus had been so unfair.
"I am sorry for calling you a wanker and being angry at you...." Remus told Sirius later that day "It's just that... Just that..."
He was out of his mind in love with Sirius and got jealous?
"I really like Marlene..." which was also true.
"Did it really upset you, Moony?"
Remus shrugged "Sorry. I was a twat... And sorry for ruining your shoes"
Sirius smiled.
"You were partially right" he sighed "I mean... James had been nagging my head with the idea that Marlene fancied me that I saw her in that dress, looking so pretty, and I tried to convince myself to fancy her as well.... You know? That at least she didn't fancy me for being handsome and being a Black, like the rest of girls. But because of me... "
If only Sirius knew that Remus would die for him. He would love Sirius even if he was ugly and poor, like himself.
"Handsome? You?"
"Oh shut up! You know it's true"
Remus laughed then he smiled at him.
"I think you will find someone who loves you truly, Sirius. Despite your beauty and family"
"You think so?"
If Remus had managed to fall in love with him, another girl would. A girl that was worthy and would drive Sirius mad. Sirius deserved that after all.
"Yes, I know so"
Sirius smiled and looked away.
"Oh Moony, I am done with girls and dating for now" Sirius said "Let's enjoy the rest of the term single..." then he rubbed his hair "Marauders before hoes, right Moony?"
Remus smiled "Peter still is dating Susan"
Sirius groaned "God, I know! I hope they break up"
"Me too" Peter didn't deserve that bitch.
"But honestly, Moony" Sirius sighed "No girl is going to replace my friends. Especially you, okay? You are my best friend"
Remus promised himself not to act like a maniac when he got jealous of Sirius. Not ever again.
"What about Prongs?"
Sirius smirked "What he doesn't know doesn't kill him"
Remus laughed. Then he said:
"You are my best friend too"
Jealous
It had been eating at him. Consuming his every thought. Keeping him up and weighing him down with guilt. The shame was literally making him nauseous. He had to say something. He had to confess.
"I think I'm homophobic," James muttered into the still morning air, knowing that his friends would hear.
Sirius's pale hand curled around the curtains of Remus's bed, revealing both of their shocked faces. "Erm...what?" Sirius asked, sitting up and pulling Remus up with him.
"I...I think I'm homophobic," James repeated, looking down with embarrassment. Gods, how had this happened?
"Mate..." Remus started, gesturing at himself and Sirius, "....are you....what?"
"No, I know," James agreed, nodding. He had no problem with Remus and Sirius and their obnoxiously physical relationship. In fact, he thought they were cute! It was sweet, to see them so happy.
But Regulus on the other hand..."It's just...I see them kissing and I want to throw up," he murmured, half to himself.
Sirius and Remus exchanged a glance, looking worried, and James' heart sank. He was horrible. Terrible.
"Erm. Them, who?" Peter piped up from his own bed.
"R-Regulus. And the bloke he's with," James admitted, dropping his head in his hands. "I'm so sorry, Sirius, I'm horrible, I don't know what's wrong with me, I-"
But Remus interrupted, looking thoughtful. "Let me get this straight," he said slowly. "You don't mind seeing Sirius and I kiss?"
"Of course not!" James exclaimed, throwing his hands up exasperatedly. "You're my best friends! I think it's just people I don't know well, maybe? Or-"
"But when it's Regulus, you get upset?" Remus continued, a smile spreading across his face.
"Yes! Yes, I want to- to punch something, it's-"
"What about McKinnon and Meadowes?" Sirius asked, a peculiar expression spreading on his own face. Like he'd been hit over the head with a hammer.
James contemplated that. "No...no, that's..." A horrifying thought occurred to him. "D'you think I just hate gay boys? Oh, Merlin, d'you think I'm like...sexualizing lesbians?"
"You're an idiot," Sirius replied, rolling his eyes and laying back on the bed. "Actually, you're more than an idiot. Gods, how the hell d'you even have a crush on Reggie?"
"I don't have a crush-" James started arguing after stunned silence, but cut himself off as he began to think about it.
And oh.
It made much more sense.
He was jealous.
"Sorted, then?" Peter asked, getting up from his bed. "Because I want breakfast."
Sirius: You may be mother and father's favourite child but I'm Remus and James's favourite person.
Regulus, smirking: Is that so?
Remus: You know I might switch brothers.
Sirius, shocked and horrified: Moony, how could you?! At least I have James that will never betray me!
James, sweating nervously: I plead the fith?
Sirius: At least I'm for sure Peter's favourite person.
Peter, always down to help create chaos: Well your brother is better looking.
Sirius: You're all traitors. So mean, all of you.
Regulus: You know, Remus, if you ever did want to see what it's like to date the better looking brother...
Sirius: *throws a pillow at Regulus's head*
James, definitely not jealous: Now, wait a second!
Pointless jealousy | Remus Lupin x reader
summary: a guy is flirting with you and Remus has to do something about it.
tw: alcohol consumption.
word count: 766
Tumblr media
Remus had his eyes on you since each one went their own way in the party. He understood you two spent majority of time together, and that he wasn't the only person you could have fun and talk with, but there was something about that guy that he didn't like. He could smell his intentions of seducing you from afar, and it was getting on his nerves.
He had you laughing and giggling like crazy, the sight of you covering your mouth and cleaning tears from your eyes infuriated Remus; he couldn't remember you ever cleaning tears from your eyes from his jokes.
The open back door welcomed a soft breeze that raised your skirt occasionally, forcing you to pull it down. 'If he dares to look down, that's it', he told himself. The air pushed your perfume to the living room, making Remus hyperaware of your distance and reminding him you were there, talking to that loser, instead of being with him, doting him with kisses and secret head scratches.
Every time Remus turned around to check on the two of you, he would notice how the man's body got closer to yours; he crouched down to hear your replies and try to maintain eye contact. 'The music isn't so loud in the kitchen, he could back up a little bit’, the werewolf puffed.
Remus knew it wasn't your fault, you probably weren't even aware of this guy's look, or that he was flirting with you. Your head was always somewhere else, and Remus had taken the capacity of looking at someone else romantically from you, so probably you weren’t thinking something beyond a friendly interaction. If you could notice or not was not what bothered Remus, it was the audacity of that guy to look at you the way he was doing, like he was about to eat you for dinner.
Time passed and you stood there innocently talking to the guy. His hands were now holding his weight in the counter and his body was fully turned to you. Remus kept repeating himself that you only had eyes for him and having beer after beer in the hopes of relaxing a bit; he didn't want to make a scene in front of everyone, he was not like that.
Unfortunately, the alcohol did the contrary to relax him. His mind turned dizzy, and his ears shut down to James’ story about how he tricked Sirius into eating a frog alive to try to read your lips. His hands were craving the touch of your hips and the situation was starting to become frustrating. The more his rival made you laugh, the more uneasy Remus would get.
He tried to stop his feet from going over there and pushing the guy far from your face, but sooner than he could realize, he found himself getting up from the sofa abruptly. Looks from his friends were redirected to him, but he payed no attention to that, his mind was focused on your silky hair framing your smile. Each step towards the kitchen made Remus’ blood pump harsh through his body, his breathing was deep, and the sound of your laugh made him shudder with pleasure.
“And so, I told him: no, we don’t make br—” the adrenaline planted Remus sharply in front of you making the guy stop his sentence. You turned to see him with hazy eyes and a dumb smile.
“Oh! hey Remmy, this is—”
Remus grabbed your arm and pulled you near him so his lips could catch yours swiftly. A little surprised scream emanated from your throat, but Remus’ tongue silenced it; you got out of your initial shock, relaxed in his arms and dwelled into his passionate, warm kiss.
You were so immersed in your boyfriend that you didn’t even hear the guy’s uncomfortable cough; Remus smiled to himself and surrounded your shoulders with his arms in response. Provocative 'oohs' came from outside the kitchen, probably from Sirius and Marlene, but Remus turned a deaf ear and opted to slightly support your back on the counter.
The sound of steps getting further away announced the retirement of the man talking to you minutes before. Remus slowly separated from you to look into your eyes, they were shiny and semi-closed, a reflection of your drunk state.
"You are coming with me now, miss. No more laughing at other guy's jokes" he kissed the tip of her nose.
You rolled your eyes and giggled because you had no idea what he was talking about, you were just making fun of this guy's ridiculous stories!
Jealousy Jealousy
Just a little short thing I wrote because I wanted jealous James. It's really just a bunch of dialogue but enjoy!
Words: 955
Barty Crouch Junior was a problem.
A big problem.
The biggest problem James had ever had.
He kind of wanted to kill the guy.
James had never felt so violent as he did watching Barty lean in and whisper into Regulus’ ear.
He wanted to rip out Barty’s throat when Regulus laughed at whatever Barty whispered into his ear.
James knew he had no right to feel that way. He had no reason to want Regulus to not go near Barty. They were friends and James didn’t have any claim to Regulus. It wasn’t like Regulus was his boyfriend. And if he was James’ boyfriend, James wouldn’t have the right to tell him how to act with his friends.
He was out of his seat in seconds when Barty's hand settled on Regulus’ waist, like it belonged there or something. James wanted to cut his fucking hand off. Maybe then he would quit touching Regulus. Maybe then he would leave Regulus the fuck alone.
“Something wrong, pretty boy?” Barty smirked when James reached them.
What was he gonna do? Tell Barty to stop talking to his friend? Really why did he even walk over? What could he do other than observe violently.
“I need to talk to Regulus,” James said shortly, not giving Barty any attention.
Barty smirked. Of course he did. When was he not smirking at James? Like he knew something that James didn’t. It pissed him off.
“We’re busy,” Barty smiled at James and waved him off like some sort of child.
James wanted Barty to never talk again. Maybe he just wanted to rip out the boys vocal chords so he couldn’t whisper things in Regulus’ ear. Speaking of, that is what Barty was doing now, once more.
“Do you have a problem, Potter?” Evan chimed in as he watched James silently seethe over Barty and Regulus’ closeness.
Evan Rosier was also a problem. He was always talking to Regulus. He was always with Regulus. Why did everyone always have to be with Regulus? Why couldn’t they just leave him alone.
“No, of course not,” James muttered and stormed off to go find Sirius. Sirius needed to get Regulus away from those fucking Slytherins or James was going to rip their heads off. He couldn’t risk getting expelled.
Sirius was found lounging in Remus’ lap, talking to Marlene about something that James didn’t care about. Right now he needed his best friends.
“You okay, Prongs? You look pissed,” Remus asked, then looked behind James and laughed. “Oh, I see. Sirius, you're needed for Regulus retrieval.”
“Oh my god, just tell him you're jealous and quit bringing me into this shit!” Sirius groaned.
James may have done this more than once. But Regulus’ friends were just so handsy. Sirius was always able to get Regulus away, so James just went to him.
“Pads, please!” James whined.
“No, figure it out. Moony time,” Sirius denied as he leaned forward to place kisses on Remus’ neck.
James grumbled but walked away and sat back in his old spot. Silently seething as he watched Regulus lean into Evan, while Barty talked about something.
He lasted longer than he thought he would.
Maybe five minutes. (thirty seconds)
But then Barty Crouch Junior leaned in and kissed Regulus’ cheek and James lost it.
James stormed over, definitely shoving people as he did so. He ripped Barty away and grabbed Regulus’ arm.
“Sirius needs you,” James spoke sharply, glaring at Barty.
“Does he? I don’t see him around,” Regulus smirked up at James, his eyes twinkling with something akin to mischief.
“He does, come on,” James tugged Regulus’ arm a little, trying to get the younger boy to stand.
“I’ll wait for him to come get me. You can go tell him that. I’ll just hang out here with my friends,” Regulus retorted, shoving James’ hand off him.
“No! You can’t stay with them,” James replied.
“Why's that?” Regulus asked.
James froze. He looked at Regulus, really looked at him and saw it. Regulus was going this on purpose. He was definitely doing this on purpose. There was no way he was just being this antagonizing and mischievous for no reason. How many times had he made James jealous on purpose.
James spun to Barty and saw that he was also smirking at James. Evan too. So they all knew what they were doing. They just didn’t care.
“You were doing it on purpose?” James asked.
“Doing what on purpose, Jaime?” Regulus tilted his head in mock confusion.
“I wanted to cut your buddies hand off. What would you have done if I had done it? Would you have felt guilty? Would you feel remorse?” James questioned, leaning close enough that his breath could probably be felt on Regulus’ cheek.
“I’d probably feel turned on, actually,” Regulus challenged
“Oh yeah?” James taunted.
“What can I say? You’re hot when you’re jealous. So are you going to act now or keep seething in your little chair? Because I’ve been waiting for you to do something. I'm tired of waiting for Jamie. I have other options, Barty for example," Regulus gestured vaguely in Barty’s direction.
“Hell yeah!” Barty agreed moving towards Regulus.
“No.” James snarled, turning to him furiously.
“I told you it was hot,” Regulus chimes. James is sure if he was talking to him or Barty but he doesn’t care.
“Come on, let me show you how hot jealousy can be,” James pulled Regulus a little gesturing toward his dorm room with his head.
“Jealousy sex! Jealousy sex! Jealousy sex!” Barty cheered in the background.
“Shut up Barty,” Evan groaned.
James may hate Barty Crouch Junior, but that was some of the best sex he had had.
He’d been looking at Sirius since he walked in. Eyes from across the dance floor scanning him up and down hungrily, a predator watching his prey, and a smirk playing at the corner of his mouth. He’d been eye fucking him all night, honestly.
And god did Remus want to kill him.
Sirius had told him countless times he never cared that people looked at him because he would never give anyone a chance. He had Remus, who else would he go for? But sometimes it got under Remus’ skin, and that’s when it became a problem.
“Love, you’re ignoring me.” Sirius pouted, leaning back against the bar as Remus stood beside him, body half twisted around to glare at the guy who still couldn’t look away. Sirius did look amazing, of course he did, in his leather pants and oversized shirt—it was Remus’—but that didn’t give anyone the right to stare.
“I’m not.”
“Now whose staring when they shouldn’t be?” Sirius’ finger curved against his chin and tugged Remus’ head to face him, and he smiled. “Down boy, I’m not going anywhere.” Remus huffed, but ran his large hand across the expanse of Sirius’ back and around his waist, gripping it firmly. Sirius looked over the moon.
Mine, Remus thought.
Yours, Sirius moaned against his skin later that night.
Hey!! Hope you are doing well) I saw that you are taking in requests for marauders fics and I was wondering if you could possibly write a Regulus Black x reader fic with numbers 4,14. (She/her pronouns) but the name can be blank or whatever you like, or if you really need one I can come up with something ❤️ Perhaps the story could be something on the lines of Reg getting jealous over his best girl friend who he is in love with, maybe Sirius is hitting on her or something like that. But honestly anything would be amazing to read ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you so much in advance, even if you just read this and not write anything. Hope you have a lovely evening)
Tumblr media
Hello, love. Thank you for the request! I am doing well yes, thanks for asking. I have to say I already like your energy just from this request lmao. I really like the request actually, so this is what I managed to make of it.
Tumblr media
Looking for his best friend, Regulus glanced around the corridor. He found her, but he wasn’t happy when he did. She was leaning against the wall with her back and Sirius was talking to her, obviously flirting and acting cool.
Y/n didn’t mind the flirting really. She didn’t like Sirius, having more interest in his brother, but she let him talk, not wanting to come of as rude.
“You look rather beautiful, might I say, I don’t know why we never talk actually, it’s a shame really.” He winked and she smiled.
Someone cleared their throat and they looked up to find Regulus with an unamused look on his face. “Ah, little brother, good to see you.” He said with a grin and Y/n gave her best friend a happy smile and he gave her the ghost of a smile back, which went unnoticed by Sirius.
“Y/n, may I introduce you to my younger brother, Regulus. Regulus, this is Y/n, you might have her in a few classes.” He spoke and the two exchanged glances.
“Yeah, I know her, she’s my best friend, not like you’d ever notice.” Regulus snarled and Sirius raised his eyebrows slightly. “Oh, don’t be acting mad now, I didn’t know, I never see you two together, are you sure you want to hang out with him, love?” Sirius grinned at the girl who gave him a now irritated look.
“Hey, don’t call her that, only I can call her that.” Regulus said with warning in his voice and and a wicked grin spread across Sirius’ face. “Oh, getting possessive now, Reggie?” Sirius asked. “I didn’t know she was your girlfriend.” He winked at the girl who rolled her eyes.
“She’s not my girlfriend.” Regulus said narrowing his eyes at his brother. “Oh, she’s not? I have a chance then?” He put an arm around the girls shoulder, making Regulus see red with anger but she just shoved him off and walked over to Regulus.
“You think you can run that pretty mouth of yours whenever you want?” She asked bitterly. “You really think every girl will just fall for you like a love struck puppy?” She continued and Sirius seemed surprised and didn’t answer.
“Oh, so now you have nothing to say? Have you never been told no?” She asked and he mumbled something, tripping over his words and and she let out a huff. “Pathetic really.” She said and then grabbed Regs hand and walked past the boy.
“He is such a dick.” Regulus said when they where in his dorm. “Though you did humble him really fast.” He said and she smirked. “That’s my specialty.”
“You did seem to enjoy yourself before I came, though.” Regulus said, jealousy lacing his voice. “Well be was really nice before you came.” Y/n said, not noticing the jealousy at all.
“He was?” Regulus asked and she nodded. “Yeah, asking me about my favourite subject and suggesting to study together sometime.” She babbled and Regulus’ features hardened, knowing Sirius was not planning for homework at all.
“And what did you say?” He asked. “Oh I told him I’d like to do homework with him sometime, he then told me I was beautiful and then you came.” She explained further. “You actually planned on doing homework with him?” Regulus asked bitterly and she grinned slightly.
“Obviously not,” she said. “I just thought it’d be hilarious when he’d ask again in front of his friends to show off and I refused.” She said and Regulus huffed out an amused laugh.
“Besides, while would I go do ‘homework’ with Sirius, when you are much more interesting.” She said and Regulus’ face flushed. “I’m sorry?” He asked bewildered.
“You heard me.” She grinned and he spluttered a bit. “You are easy to fluster, just like your brother.” She laughed and he raised his eyebrows. “Are you making fun of me?” He asked and a grin formed on her face.
He walked over to her, as she still sat on the bed. He proceeded to tilt her chin with his fingers, making her look up at him and her face heated up as she quickly looked away. “Who’s flustered now, love?” He teased and she cursed under her breath.
“Hey, look at me.” He said and she did, her cheeks tinted with red as she looked up at him with doe eyes. He then leaned down and kissed her. She was surprised but kissed him back anyway, having waited for over a year to do that.
About a week later, the two walked trough the halls together when they saw Sirius coming their way with his friends. Regulus grinned, snaked an arm around his girlfriends waist and pressed a kiss on her temple, just out of spite.
Hc that instead of merlin's beard/Godric Gryffindor Sirius starts using variations of Lupin's name as exclamations in his everyday language like
"Lupin's furry tail, that was close"
"By Lupin's name, I will hex you"
"Remoony's baggy Y-fronts, Minnie's going to kill us!!"
"Lupin's most luxurious pelt, those dungbombs did a number, huh?"
"Moony's pants, what have we done"
It drives Remus up the wall but it catches up with James, Pete and the girls and by extension, the whole Gryffindor tower and soon there are several variations going around and almost on every corner you can hear someone go
"Acting the Lupin"
"Buggering Lupin"
"Gobsmacked Remus"
"In the name of Lupin"
"By the power invested in me by Remus Lupin"
It's hilarious and by the end of their time at Hogwarts, Remus doesn't even notice it anymore to the extent that it goes from blushing profusely and dropping whatever he's holding in surprise to blushing mildly and stuttering.
Jealous Remus is quiet. He stares. He swallows his tears. He doesn't say anything. He might clench his nails on his palm or destroy whatever he is holding. But he is sad. He knows Sirius deserves better so he doesn't say anything. He might cry when he is alone. But he never shows it.
Jealous Sirius is aggressive. He gets in between. He doesn't conceal. He is mean with whoever flirts with or dates Remus. He tries to show how better he knows Remus, how he is better for him. Then he feels awful because he has been acting like an idiot and thinks Remus doesn't deserve him. He is better off without him.
