I’m two days late from when this was supposed to be posted, but was busy this week, hence the delay 🙈 Oh well, better late than never 😅

In my head canon, when Korra was missing/roaming the other nations, Asami and Naga grew closer (after Tonraq brought her back to Republic City) because of their mutual yearning for Korra. Asami probably felt like she couldn’t really confide in anyone about her secret feelings for Korra, so the next best option (aside from redesigning her roadster to match the colours of her secret crush 😏) would have been Naga. With how calming and sweet Naga is, I think talking freely to the big polar bear dog would have helped Asami feel lighter, less anxious, and more connected to Korra 💙 Plus who wouldn’t want to hangout and cuddle with Naga 🐻‍❄️🐾

Here's my humble entry for Korrasami week 2022. It's fluff. ♡

The notebook flew across the porch, grazed Korra’s chest as she dodged the flying object with just enough grace to prevent their coffee from spilling, and crash landed on the rocky shore in a pungent little pool of algae and water. Three cloud urchins kept existing there, unbothered by the rippling paper and exquisitely fine leather soaking in their midst. “I give up,” pouted Asami, in that space between anger and guilt.

“May I interest you in coffee?” smirked Korra.

Asami left her funk just enough to stare at the two mugs Korra was holding. “Legs be valentines?” she read, deciphering what the adorably creepy centipede on the mug was saying.

“This rental cottage has the worst mugs! It’s great!” Korra burst out laughing. “I think I’ll steal this one! ‘Rise, shine and kick some ass?’ Is that a bunch of Kyoshi Warrior fans, you think? It’s so tacky it’s blinding!”

Asami joined in on the laughter. But the anger-guilt remained there, just beneath the ripples of her throat, just behind the soft crinkles at the corner of her eyes; it remained, quiet, stalking.

Korra leaned back and stretched a leg over the balcony ramp. Naga ran past the cottage, proudly carrying a piece of driftwood as large as a person, scaring a flock of seagull snails away from their twisted shells. Asami held her face in both hands, hunched, defeated.

“Hey…” Korra tentatively called. “Um, mind telling me what’s in that notebook you just threw at the urchins over there?”

Asami's secret unsent letter

Dear Korra,

I never realized how much you meant to me until you left. I miss you so much. I know you’ll be back on your feet in no time. You’re the strongest person I know.

When I first met you, I didn’t know what to make of you. On the one hand, you were loud and aggressive and obviously jealous of my relationship with Mako. But on the other hand, you were funny and cute gorgeous beautiful hot cool and I really enjoyed hanging out with you.

Our little quarrel over Mako only confused me more. I was jealous, that’s for sure, but I never thought badly of you. I think at some point during that whole nightmare, I lost track of who I was jealous of. Does that make sense? Sorry.

I’m glad that Mako didn’t come between us. That drive we took together is a cherished special memory to me. When you called me your “girlfriend”, I started feeling things I’ve never felt before. I think that was the moment I started thinking of you as more than a friend.

What I’m trying to say is that I love you. I am hopelessly in love with you, Avatar Korra. It’s crushing me that I can’t be with, that I have to tell you this over letter, but if I wait, I’ll lose my nerve. You probably don’t feel the same way, but I needed to tell you.
