Let's Talk About How Book 3 Ruined Aang

If you've seen any of my prior ATLA posts, you know that I don't hate Aang. In fact, I quite liked him in Books 1 and 2. He was flawed, as all characters should be, but the show didn't shy away from those flaws or justify them. He was called out for burning Katara and rushing his firebending, Sokka and Katara were rightfully upset when he hid Hakoda's letter, he willingly owns up to the fact that his actions helped drive Toph away, and his entire arc after losing Appa and finding hope again in The Serpent's Path was beautifully done.

(Hell, even in The Great Divide Katara says what Aang did was wrong and he agrees. It's played for comedy, but the show still makes the effort to point out that what he did wasn't the right thing to do. You're just meant to understand that he was fed up and acted off of that)

Those flaws and mistakes were addressed and improved upon and helped Aang to grow as a character.

But for some reason, that aspect of Aang's character was completely flipped in Book 3.

The best examples of this are in both TDBS and EIP. Both the show and the fandom are too quick to brush off that Aang kissed Katara twice without her consent, one of which after she explicitly said she was confused about her feelings.

(And yes, she is angry in response and Aang calls himself an idiot. But after this, it isn't really addressed. They go on like nothing happened for the rest of the episode. Aang's lamentation comes from screwing things up with her romantically, not that he violated boundaries)

The show never really addressed why what he did was wrong. Not only because he wasn't given consent, but also because both times he isn't thinking about what Katara wants. In both instances, Aang is only thinking about himself and his feelings. This is something that persists through a lot of the third book. And by Sozin's Comet it ultimately ruins any character development he had built up in the second book.

One thing I feel was completely disregarded was the concept of having to let go of Katara in order to master the Avatar State.

For me, the implication wasn't that he had to give up love or happiness necessarily. He was emotionally attached to and reliant on Katara, to the point where she was needed to stop him from hurting everyone around him and himself. This is obviously detrimental to his functionality as the Avatar. And the point of him "letting her go" wasn't that he had to stop caring about her, it was that his emotional dependency on her was stopping him from being the Avatar he needed to be and that was what needed to be fixed. I don't even think it's about the Avatar State itself, it's about being able to keep your emotions and duty as the Avatar separate.

(If you look at Roku, he loved and had a wife. It wasn't his love for her that messed everything up, it was his attachment to Sozin. He wasn't able to let Sozin go and not only did he lose his life for it, the world suffered for it. It's the unhealthy attachments that seem to be detrimental, not love itself)

And Aang realizes that in the catacombs, which is how he's able to easily enter the Avatar State and seemingly control it. He let Katara go.

So then why does it seem like his attachment to Katara is not only stronger, but worse in mannerism? He liked Katara in Books 1 and 2- obviously- but he was never overly jealous of Jet or Haru. He only makes one harmless comment in Book 2 when Sokka suggests Katara kiss Jet.

But suddenly he's insanely jealous of Zuko (to the point of getting frustrated with Katara over it), off the basis of the actions of actors in a clearly misrepresentative play. Katara showed a lot more interest in Jet and Aang was completely fine with it.

(Speaking of EIP, Aang's reaction to being played by a woman was interesting. He wore a flower crown in The Cave of Two Lovers. He wove Katara a flower necklace. He wore Kyoshi's clothes and makeup and made a funny girl voice. He willingly responded to Twinkle Toes and had no issue being called that. And for some reason he's genuinely upset about being played by a woman? Aang in Books 1 and 2 would have laughed and enjoyed the show like Toph did. His aversion to feminity felt vastly out of character)

I guess my point is, why did that change? Why was Aang letting go of Katara suddenly irrelevant to the Avatar State? It felt like him letting go was supposed to be a major part of his development. Why did that stop?

Myself and many others have talked about The Southern Raiders. The jist of my thought process about it is his assumption that he knew what was best for Katara. And the episode doesn't really call out why he was wrong. Maybe sparing Yon Rha was better for Katara, maybe it wasn't (the only one who's allowed to make that choice is her). Pushing forgiveness? That was wrong. But the episode has Zuko say that Aang was right when the course of action Katara took wasn't what Aang suggested.

Katara's lesson here was that killing him wouldn't bring back her mother or mend the pain she was going through and that Yon Rha wasn't worth the effort. That's what she realizes. Not that she needed to embrace forgiveness. How could she ever forgive that? The episode saying Aang was right wasn't true. Yes she forgives Zuko, but that wasn't what Aang was talking about. He was specifically talking about Yon Rha.

And that was wrong. Aang can choose the path of forgiveness, that's fine. That's his choice. But dismissing Katara's trauma in favor of his morals and upbringing wasn't okay.

I know it sounds like this is just bashing Kataang. But it's not simply because I don't like Kataang, in my opinion it brings down Aang's character too, not just Katara's. But let's steer away from Kataang and Katara for a minute.

The one thing that solidifies Aang's character being ruined in Book 3 for me is the fact that he- at the end of the story- does the same thing he did in the beginning.

He runs away when things get hard.

Aang couldn't make the choice between his duty and his morals. So he ran. Maybe it wasn't intentional, but subconsciously he wanted an out. And this is really disappointing when one of the things he was firm about in Book 2 was not running anymore. His character went backwards here and that's not even getting into the real issue in Sozin's Comet.

There's been contention about the Lion Turtle intervention. For many- including myself- it's very deus ex machina to save Aang from having to make a hard decision. And that in turn doesn't reflect kindly on his character.

Everyone- Sokka, Zuko, Roku, Kyoshi, Kuruk, and Yangchen (who was another Airbender and was raised with the same beliefs he was and would understand which was the whole point of him talking to her)- told him he had to kill Ozai. They all told him it was the only way. And he refused to listen to any of them, rotating through his past lives until he was given the answer he wanted.

And before anyone says that I'm bashing Aang for following his culture, I'm not. Ending the war peacefully, in my opinion, wasn't the problem. In a way, I think it allowed the world to heal properly. However, that doesn't make up for the fact that Aang refused to make a choice and face the consequences of that choice. Instead, he's given an out at the very last second.

Even if he couldn't kill Ozai and someone else had to deliver the final blow, that would have been better than the Lion Turtle showing up and giving him a power no one's ever had before. It would have been a good compromise, he doesn't have to have blood directly on his hands but what needs to be done needs to still get done. It would also show that being the Avatar isn't a burden he has to bear alone. That when things get hard, he can't run away but he can rely on the people closest to him to help him through hard decisions.

All these issues aren't necessarily a problem with Aang. Aang prior to Book 3 didn't have most of these problems. This is a problem with the way he was handled

Note(s): Hated Lae'zel in the beginning but she very much grew on me. Tolerated Astarion in the beginning and he also grew on me. I fucking love Karlach though.

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Astarion is very affectionate once in an actual relationship with feelings. Before it was flirty looks and teasing words. Now it's his hand lingering on yours, him standing close by to be able to protect you immediately if needed (and because he enjoys you being close to him). Still flirty, but there are actual feelings behind it.

Lae'zel isn't really affectionate at all. She mostly stares, not really engaging in physical or emotional affection. If anything, her words are "Your shoulders look strong, your waist is very supportive" things like complimenting your appearance based on how good certain aspects of you are in a fight.

Karlach is constantly giving you puppy dog eyes because she wants nothing more than to be a big teddy bear and hug and kiss you all day. But she can't. So it's a lot of pouting and telling you what she wants to do to you.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Well Astarion can really be whatever you want him to be. So if you would prefer him to be more gentle with his kisses and with pulling you into hugs then he will. When it comes to emotions, he's always gentle. You don't need to ask because his default is being gentle and treating you well (when he's not being a jerk and teasing you, that is).

Lae'zel isn't really gentle at all. She's blunt with her affections and upfront about them. She wants you and that's all you need to know. She's not going to sit and compliment your eyes or hold your hand.

When Karlach is able to finally hold you then she throws gentleness out the window. She's just so happy to pick you up and spin you around and pepper your face with kisses. Will be more careful if you remind her since she still runs hotter than normal. But god is she so happy to just throw herself at you.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Astarion isn't that protective of you. Sure he'll flash his fangs or play with his dagger a bit if someone seems to be getting too close for comfort or is talking a lot of shit to you. As for if you try protecting him, he might get frustrated just because he can deal with whatever pain. You don't need to go through that for him. So he'd prefer if you didn't physically protect him. Now, if you decided to throw some sass or verbally protect him then he's very appreciative.

Oh you are Lae'zel's and she's not letting a single person harm what's hers. Will be there to immediately get her weapon out for a fight at the slightest insult that someone gives you. As for defending her, she'll say that she can take care of herself, but she finds it so hot that you'd step in and want to defend her. She'll gladly enjoy the show of dominance you give off towards whoever was insulting her and then she'll take you back to her tent.

Karlach tries to use words to get whoever to piss off if they threaten or upset you. But if push comes to shove, then she'll gladly push and shove them off a cliff. If you want to defend her then she's standing behind you and acting extra intimidating while admiring all the sweet things you say about her while making whoever you're talking to shit themselves.

Y - Yearning (how do they cope when they are missing you? are they alright with being without you for an extended period of time or would they prefer to be with you every day of their life without exception?)

Oh Astarion is just fine without you. He's gone most of his shitty life without you so if you're gone and he's stuck at camp or you're at camp and he's stuck talking to boring people then he's fine. And he isn't pouting more than usual, that's a ridiculous notion.

Lae'zel doesn't mind if you're gone for an extended period of time. She can throw her focus on her own goals because she knows you'll come back to her. She threatens you to come back to her. So until then, she'll wait for your return while making sure that she can be stronger for you.

Karlach doesn't like being away from you for too long. She can tolerate a couple days, but after that she has to see you again. She'll still be happy and cheerful if you two are separated but there's just an aching in her heart as she waits to see you again. Has definitely looked around camp or glanced around during her travels and kept an eye out for things to tell you about when she does reunite with you.

Creepypasta Fluff Headcanons for Trans!Male Reader Pt. 1 (Being a boy on his Period)

Because it's nearing that time again and being a boy on his period sucks ass. I'm making this to provide some comfort! For myself as a trans man and hopefully you too. This takes place with established and healthy relationships. Or as healthy as relationships with these characters come.

Tw: Possessive behavior, not necessarily wanted affection, rough contact, references to slight verbal abuse.

Eyeless Jack

• Run. Run right in the opposite direction if he hasn't eaten in a bit/is agitated. You will make him hungry due to his blood lusting demonic nature and he's not very friendly when he's hungry.

• You already aren't feeling great so if you go to him in that state anyways expect to be more uncomfortable albeit supported as a half-apology.

• If he has been satiated and is calm you may proceed to tell your demonic boyfriend that your cycle has begun and you are distressed and dysphoric about it.

• Cuddle bug. Like sits you directly into his lap and burries his face in your neck. Telling you words of encouragement. Think "I'm so sorry Baby boy." and "You're so strong y/n. One of the strongest men I know, I mean other men can't live through bleeding for 4-7 days on average."

• He's a med student so he knows the best ways to help with cramps and the physical pains that come with a menstrual cycle.

• He also gives you high testosterone foods and encourages you to wear one of his shirts and your boxers over your underwear to help with the dysphoria aspect. But he won't let you bind if your chest area gets sensitive.

• Tries to distract you and keep you as comfortable as possible

• Extremely protective during this time. He has a lot of self control but his instincts are still spiking under the surface screaming at him to lock you up/protect you. His emotional attachment to you paired with his constant hunger leave him clinging to your side and glaring at anyone else who approaches/gives you a weird look. Attacking anyone who hurts you emotionally or otherwise.

• Honestly a bit feral in a way akin to nesting.

• Insists on taking walks together once a day.

Laughing Jack

• A bit confused at first in his eyes he has erased any of your perceived biological imperfections.

• Hits you with the "But you are a boy" when you tell him you're feeling dysphoric and crying. "One who's very very important to me as well so please don't cry."

• Gives you your favorite candies and sweets

• Rubs your back when you're curled over in pain and sings you songs to help you calm down.

• Takes you to his amusement park and takes you on all your favorite rides and shows you all your favorite shows

•Always introducing the act as "Dedicated to the best boy in the world/my Favorite boy."

• Essentially his mentality is "I'm going to make sure this boy has so much fun he forgets the torment of having his brain stuck in the wrong body."

• And it fucking works. He has you laughing so hard that you can't tell where the stomach ache ends and the cramps begin.

• He likes to play "dress-up" in the sense where he has an array of gender affirming costumes and each day he insists you choose from the extensive array because even if you don't feel well at the moment doesn't mean you have to be reduced to a puddle of stained oversized clothes. He was always one for theatrics.

• If you say you really aren't up to dressing up he'll bring out an array of hoodies, baggy tees, shorts, sweats, or jeans instead.

• Genuinely just trying to distract and cheer you up

Ben Drowned

• Pretends to not know what you're talking about or why you're so upset. "Bro I assure you no one cares?" Followed by a long silence as he stares at you followed with "We all still view you the same, man."

• Then promptly refuses to leave your side

• Think anything from lurking in nearby electronics to straight up following you around everywhere.

• If a mission comes up he'll take you with him and make up some sort of excuse like he needs your help and your avatar is better abled than you physically. Alternatively if you have a mission he'll grab you and say he's coming with, before dragging you with him.

• Makes sure everyone is careful around you. No roughhousing or insults. Not at this time even if you protest.

• You had to break up a fight with the intent to maim once because Jeff had called you a "Pussy" in an attempt to agrivate you to change your mind about not being up for training today. Ben who had been lurking nearby lunged at him and you had to break the two apart.

• So much Gatorade. This boy makes you drink so much Gatorade.

• He also has a collection of snacks you normally crave and hoodies specifically for you in his closet.

• Let's you bind during your period until you don't take it off on time or act like you're in pain then he will take and hide it until it's passed.

• if you complain about dysphoria he'll roll his eyes as he drags you to his realm where your avatar already matches your gender and have you hang out there.

• Naptimes are mandatory once a day during this week because he knows it takes a lot out of you.

• Reminds you to take showers despite how much you hate having that reminder because you'll feel better afterwards and it helps with the cramps.

Jeff the Killer

• I promise he's trying. He's trying to keep things as normal as possible by being a jokey asshole dick like usual.

• Mans has your cycle engraved in his memory so on the first and worst day when you're at your grumpiest without fail he'll go "Can't you just give me a bloody smile god damn it?"

• You know he's joking and he knows he's joking but without fail you'll mock laugh at him, sock him in the nose, and walk away.

• One time you ran out of products and Jeff went to get them for you he called from the store and went, "Hey man, what size cunt do you have?" You shook your head, called him an asshole, and hung up.

• He tried to apologize by calling and texting and when you wouldn't answer he made you a care basket with hot wheels and various manly items such as boxers and button-ups/baggy tees. He also covered the pads wrapping in dinosaurs. And replacing "girl" with "boss" on the labels

• He's made a habit of getting you one of these everytime your supplies run out.

• Insists on more training and fighting because what better way to blow off steam and frustrations than a good ol fashioned fight.

• One time it went too far and the two of you ended up being patched up by EJ who scolded the two of you and said "If I catch you boys doing this again I will make sure Slender needs two new proxies."

• Always carrying ibuprofen and water. Always.

• Rubs your back if it hurts too much and treats you more gently.

•Will attack and maim anyone who misgenders you.

Homicidal Liu

• Liu is already constantly holding your hand as if he's scared you'll disappear, like the rest of good in his life, so you two are fairly well synced and sometimes you swear he can read your mind.

• You keep him calm, in a way that reminds him of before the incident because of this he knows all of you, obsessed over it and memorized it, including when your cycle is, it's linked in his internal clock.

• You'll often wake up to a warm bath and clean comfortable clothes if your cycle started during the night. While you bathe he'd change and wash the sheets then bring you breakfast to eat together after you finish.

• Tells you he's sorry that your body doesn't match your mind as he nuzzles into your neck. Snaking his arms around your waist and engulfing you in his weight. Sometimes uncomfortable but you know by now if you try to pry him off he'll only tighten his grip and agressively albeit incoherently mumble

•calm and supportive/protective and possessive are how his alters have always treated you. Both affectionate sometimes overly so. Heightened during your cycle due to you being in a more easily hurt and in a distressed mood.

• Think overlap of Liu and Sully's voices, "What did you just say to my boyfriend?" Followed by "You'll pay for that." should anyone so much as look at you funny in a way that'll make you feel worse about your current state of being.

• Said anyone would be carried away in a body bag. <333

• Gets you trinkets as well as anything you may be craving.

• Owns heating pads as well as cold pads at his disposal to help with cramps.

• Water/Gatorade and a variety of pain meds on hand. Always.

• Doesn't want to leave your side out of fear of you running into a less than kind individual without him there to support you and maim your instigator.

Ticci Toby

• You'd have to go to him about it because his ass doesn't know. His brain is on fifteen different topics at any given time. You occupy at least five but he doesn't have much memorized.

• He'll know that something is bothering you but won't know what unless you blatantly tell him.

• Once you do he'll probably try his best to limit his roughness/aggression and increase softer touches/tones.

• Much more pet names a lot less insults. IE: Instead of calling you a dumbass he'll call you pretty boy.

• If he gets frustrated expect said pet name to be said with aggression.

• He owns several weighted blankets he'd offer you to use on top of his own body weight when he flops onto you, should you want that affection. Though he still will with a piss-poor excuse of an apology if you don't and he does. Which he does frequently because you're one of the only people whose touch is gentle with him.

• Bad about carrying liquid. Good about carrying meds. So if you need an ibuprofen he will give you one but you'll need to either dry swallow or find liquid elsewhere.

• Also not the best at comforting you through your pain seeing as he doesn't experience that kind of thing himself. At least not in the same way, so he doesn't know what to do nor what you expect from him.

• He'll pick you up something he thinks you'll like when he goes out during this time but that ranges from "really sweet" to "the thought is what counts." Because sometimes his thoughts cross paths one too many times and he accidentally got you cleaning supplies instead of menstrual or edible treats.

• Think: "This rock made me think of you. Do you like [insert candy], because I grabbed some on my last mission. I meant to grab you strawberry mentos, because of a song I heard that made me think of you but accidentally grabbed menthol instead, I don't know how you'd use it but here."

• Essentially when you tell him he'll say "Okay, don't push yourself too hard." And then continue fairly normally while attempting to be nice.

Brian/Hoodie

• Initial reaction depends entirely on where/how you tell him. If you tell him in public in front of others he will simply look at you and say, "...okay".

• If you tell him in private he'll stare at you for a moment and then he'll give you a few well-thought-out sentences on how he'll be there to help and how you aren't any less of a man.

• If you give him a note or written thing however he will build you a cathedral out of paragraphs telling you that he'll do what he can to make you feel as good as you can, how this aspect doesn't change who you are not how you're received, and everything masculine and in general he adores about you.

• Always has water, meds, and a spare hoodie for you in close proximity.

• Doesn't treat you any differently in public or private.

• Very sweet most of the time, including this, minus his aggressive outbursts.

• It's very much the same old same old. He'll still melt into you and expect the same he'll still yell and throw things when he's having a n outburst.

• He'll still treat you as softly and as roughly as he does the rest of the time.

• Will get you your cravings if you ask but he won't really if he's unprompted.

• He may ask for your hand more often if he notices your distress/squeeze your hand more often.

• Though most of the time he won't he's too busy in his head or in what he's doing.

• Or alternatively trying to figure out what is in your head and what you're doing but not necessarily how you're feeling.

• He cares about you he's just not the possessive type in the way that leads to outwardly or intense displays of affection. Though if you even hinted to not wanting to be around people on your cycle you wouldn't be. He would hole up.with you until its over and be reluctant to let you go.

Tim/Masky

• Throws his reeking bomber jacket at you with a raised eyebrow. "Things like this provide some comfort right?"

• Cocky Bastard knows it's in his god-damn calendar and he likes to inadvertently let you know he knows.

• IE: throwing one of your favorite snacks at your head while you train or work.

• Bringing you water, Gatorade, and medicine to you when all you did is hold your head in your hands for five seconds.

• It's become almost a game of whether or not you can get away without him knowing.

• Mocking you lightly if you ask for help with anything. If you need supplies, or would like one of your cravings, or would like a heating pad anything. And you say, "Hey could you get me [blank] if you don't mind?" Or anything along those lines you will be met with an, "Ah ah ah pretty boy, say pretty please." When he returns with what you asked for dangling it out of reach.

• Also always asks for a kiss as payment for being your knight in shiny armor. When he gets you anything. One time he bought you a bag of chocolate kisses you were craving and when he asked you threw a chocolate at him and he chased and tackled you until you gave him an actual one.

• Deliberately and as a rule of thumb, Masky shows you a playful and cocky side he's created because you respond to it best.

• He rarely gets angry at you but when he does that anger translates to avoiding you and not speaking to you should he be in this state he will give you nothing, not even a hug during this.

• If you tend to be touch-starved during he'll be less likely to fall into that angry rut but if you're touch-adverse he's more likely to get into angry ruts because he'll take it as the front he crafted for you not being enough or attractive to you.

• Despite the fact it has nothing to do him and has everything to do with you being in physical and psychological pain.

Let's say you're around the age range with the third years and was in the Kyoto Goodwill event festival also, he wouldn't care based on how you approach him the first time. You were adored by Satoru and other students looking up at you, probably because of your brotherly behavior you do towards people.

During the event, you were still humble and caring despite having to go against him. You weren't the strongest but you weren't the weakest when it comes to using your techniques. During the event, you would approach Megumi with humble and caring attitude. You would recognize his strength and skill, but also that he isn't an invincible demon. You would treat him like you would anyone else, that's what keeps him on wanting to get to know you better. but you with a bit more caution due to his impressive skill. You would compliment him and encourage him, showing respect and admiration for his abilities. When it comes time to fight him, you would give it your all, but you would also recognize when you are outmatched and need to retreat or find a way to exploit a weakness.

Even when the enemies invade the event, you're focused on keeping others safe and sound. Putting Megumi beside you at all cost, making the younger male become awkward yet feeling touched. He still have his guard on around you after the festival although you'll noticed he would not go away, would not want to let you out of his sight. You would notice that he becomes possessive whenever you interact with the other students. You would need to be careful not to show a certain level of closeness with any other students, as it would make Megumi jealous.

As time went by, you see him coming by to see you. Sometimes doing things just for your attention, he liked being praised by you, it gives him a sense of calmness whenever you approve of what he does. Of course his behavior changes when you act the same towards Nobara or Yuji, he wanted you all to himself.

I would imagine that Megumi would act very protective and doting around his older brother figure. He would be very clingy and probably not want his brother figure to leave his side. He might even go as far as to keep his brother figure from interacting with other people out of fear that he might lose him.

Megumi may also become extremely attached to his older brother figure, to the point of becoming emotionally dependent upon him. This can lead to an unbalanced and unhealthy relationship, where Megumi's happiness and self-worth are solely dependent on his older brother figure's love and approval. You noticed this behavior and you don't approve of it, yes it's adorable to watch but you don't want Megumi dependent on you but Megumi doesn't find it any less weird because he have never experienced this kind of affection.

Megumi would have a strong attachment and obsession with you, protecting you at all costs while also being possessive and jealous of others who interact with them. He would be protective and aggressive, and would likely go to extreme lengths to protect you and ensure they are safe from any outside threats. He may be prone to lashing out in jealousy and violence.

He tends to be easily paranoid, his life is already shit as it can be with all of these life threatening situations. Being stressed around people before and now with you in his life, he have gotten much worse. Please makes sure to reassure him in any chance you get. Of course he wouldn't abduct you, since well.. You have more brains than he have. Megumi can sometimes be extremely self-critical, even when his friend is trying to reassure him that you are doing fine. Often feels that he have to prove himself constantly to keep his older friend's affection, which can create a lot of pressure and potentially lead to emotional and mental burnout.

So the next best thing for him is being by your side, oh how would you find this suffocating? shouldn't you be grateful you have someone looking up to you to the point he would want to know your every move even all of the things you eat and used?

Protecting you and becoming jealous over the others who interact with you, taking your attention away from him. I wouldn't say he would do violence on you but he'll get aggressive, lashing out to the point he'll cry out of frustration on why you would want to talk to other people when you have him.

Megumi is very attached to his friend. He's protective and possessive of him, and becomes jealous if you gets close with anyone else. He's also very overprotective and will get extremely defensive if anyone badmouths you, even if it's not towards him directly. You're his number one priority, and he'll do anything to keep you safe.

Sometimes he would act emotionally distant and detached, keeping his emotions bottled up and suppressed until you give up on reassuring him and comforting him, once you'll stop and sigh on him. He would change drastically, asking you why would you stop? He may experience extreme mood swings and changes in behavior. Having obsessive habits related to you.

Megumi have some obsessive or possessive habits that manifest in non-violent ways. For example, he may keep a photo of his beloved on them, or write them letters, or keep a lock of their hair in a jar.

If you caught Megumi stealing your stuff, he'll get guilty and ashamed of it especially when you scold him like a little child. He will get all sulky til you let him off the hook. Next day you'll see him having the same thing that you were trying to find, acting as if he didn't steal it.

His older brother figure may need to tread carefully so as not to upset or anger him. You need to be understanding and respectful of his feelings, and try not to do anything that could provoke his jealousy and protectiveness.

Megumi would likely be very attentive to his needs, but also prone to overreacting or acting irrationally if he feel you are being slighted in any way. He might also be prone to expressing his affection with grand gestures or gifts, but also potentially be controlling or even manipulative at times.

Megumi is not physically violent, but he can be emotionally coercive when he feel like his love isn't being reciprocated. This blue haired male will also do anything in his power to keep his love away from others who might try to take you from him. Megumi often shows affection by being attentive and caring, making sure his love is comfortable and taken care of.

He wouldn't try to hurt someone else in order for you to stop talking to them, he would think about it though. Megumi would try different ways like manipulating you into thinking that the person is much worse.. If it's someone like Maki or Yuta, he'll just suffer by listening to your conversations. He hates people warning you about his behavior, you wouldn't leave him because of some silly rumors.. Right?

And if he upsets you based on how he acts around you? Megumi would likely feel immense guilt and regret if he upset his older brother figure. He'll become clingy or desperate for forgiveness, and may try to make it up to his friend by going to extreme lengths to make you happy. He might also become very emotional and unstable.

If you're uncomfortable yet maybe even be disappointed by his behavior, it could potentially lead to conflict and a difficult relationship. Megumi does not understand why you're not accepting of his behavior, and may feel hurt and rejected as a result. He have lost so many people already, why wouldn't you understand that this is for your safety? He doesn't find anything disturbing on what he does so maybe you should look through his own perspective. This could potentially lead to further emotional and psychological issues for him. He would become distant for the past few days, even if you try to reason with him, it would take days or weeks for him.

he is always on the watch for anyone trying to steal you away from him. He's very territorial, and can't stand the thought of losing his important person. He will go as far as using physical or emotional manipulation to keep his older brother figure in his grasp.

Yesterday episode with Gemini and Lunar 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠ho boy on one hand I agree with alot about what Gemini said about Lunar being he doesn't try to solve his problem of trama and out right avoids trying to get help for so long now the consequences of that has now put him in danger because I have a very good feeling Taurus is pretty muder but I do feel Gemini lack of truly understanding emotions also adds to the problem like saying he a child but screaming and a child will somehow fix it but after everything that happens Gemini WILL STILL try and defend Lunar to the best of their ability and I really appreciate that about them

Honestly yeah.

Gemini feels completely betrayed, and feels as if they failed Lunar.

Gemini has actually repeated a lot of analysis and words that I have said about Lunar in the public server, which could be a coincidence, but I like to think that the actors saw what I said and yoinked it for later.

Gemini is THIS upset because they are emotionally attached to Lunar. Right now, they feel like that's a mistake.

Who knows if Lunar will actually listen and take what Gemini says to heart.

Because Lunar is really childish and a complete hypocrite of a character. Earth and Lunar were having a conversation moments before on how Lunar can approach this.

Moon even told Lunar that Eclipse might approach and antagonize him and he had to be ready for that.

Lunar held a grudge over Moon for weeks because he said "Trust your family"

What does he do?

Not trust Earth. At all. And gives into his emotions and listen to Eclipse who was bullying him.

He should have shocked Eclipse to show him his place. Maybe punched him to get some feelings out....... But continuously electrocuting him until he was nothing but ash?

Honestly... in the latest TSAMS episode, Moon does exactly what Lunar should have done to work on his issues.

NewMoon isn't letting Eclipse occupy any of his time or head space cus it's not helping him. And I think Moon feels a relief that this is the big bad Eclipse he built in his head in the one year he's been alive.

Lunar thought he would be "Free" if he killed Eclipse, not true, he had to learn how to be free in the mental sense, in just... not letting Eclipse rule over his mind anymore.

It's a tragic case of Lunar had the cards stacked in his favor with people who would help and protect him, but refused them at every oppertunity.

Gemini's call out of Lunar was well deserved, and they're doing it, because they know they are too deeply emotionally invested in Lunar and care about him.

They feel hurt, and betrayed by his actions. Which they wouldn't, if they "don't feel anything" like Lunar claimed.

And judging by how Lunar reacted after they left... Who knows if he can even process or understand what Gemini tried to tell him.

Lunar just can't cope. He can't cope with anything. He has to be the victim forever cause that's all he wants to be. Am I victim blaming Lunar? Absolutely not. But he is not the only one who suffered under Eclipse. Yet he always acts like he did. With a "Oh I'm sorry, did you blow up?"

He parades his trauma like a badge of honor. That he has trauma. That he's the most traumatized so only his feelings mater above anything else that's logical or anyone else's feelings.

People compare what Lunar did to what Sun did. And while I do think Sun can offer Lunar comfort, there is a few things missing here.

Sun killed Bloodmoon because he was antagonized, but he was also thinking of self-defense. The protection of himself and his family.

Lunar.... Was not thinking about that.

Ironic that Eclipse joked he wasn't Bloodmoon and died in a very similar mater.

Eclipse taunted Lunar. But Eclipse had a chip that prevented him from hurting anyone in the family. Lunar was told this and Earth knew this.

Lunar killed Eclipse, not out of a desire to protect himself, or his family. He killed Eclipse in revenge, in hatred. In no single instant did he think how his actions would affect Earth (WHO WAS RIGHT THERE AND WAS IGNORED AND PROBABLY FEELS HORRIBLE LIKE SHE FAILED LUNAR AND THIS IS HER FAULT THIS HAPPENED.)

Lunar didn't think about Earth, Sun, Moon, Solar. He thought of NO ONE but himself and his own satisfaction.

That's the difference.

That's what makes him a child.

And that's why he needs help.

And that's why Gemini is so furious.

And I swear to god I hope Lunar can actually understand what Gemini said to him... otherwise things will just get way harder for Lunar.

y’all i know what i’m about to say is actually delusional but this kid simultaneously brings me so much happiness and sadness every time i see him.

Imagine your soul being taken over by the evilest being in jujutsu history, watching through your own eyes as “you” kill your own sister, the person you loved and would protect with your life.

THEN. Your dad comes, you’re watching sukuna fight gojo as you slowly sink further and further into the abyss. Then boom. dead.

Now you’ve killed the two people closest to you, there’s nothing left but to sink and allow your body to be taken advantage of. There’s nothing you can do

there’s nothing you can do…

One thing i need to stop is getting emotionally attached to characters, i can’t help but imagine myself in a situation like megumi’s and i completely understand why he wouldnt have the will to live. I physically feel pressure in my chest and stomach whenever i think about him and how sad his character is. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON AKI i’m gonna make a separate post for him.

But still, he’s only 16 at the time of this, which makes me even more upset.

I wish there was a way to comfort him, i constantly hope itadori can knock some sense into him so he can make the choice to come back, but i hate little faith because why?

Random HC:

The first years (+Ortho) playing DnD in Ramshackle Dorm

Yuu/MC is DMing of course

Player characters (I won't go too deep into their character details tho)

I feel like Ace'd be a Human Rogue, it kinda fits his personality imo. I personally don't see him as someone who uses brute force or blast magic, so Rogue it is. Specifically, I feel like he'd be an arcane trickster.

Deuce's character would be a Monk 100%. As for the race I can sorta see him being a Tiefling. Now you might be asking, "why a Monk and not a Barbarian?", While I do acknowledge his tendency to go apeshit at times, he actively tries to grow and change from his past habits. Perhaps his character could be an ex-barbarian who is training hard to be a Monk (multiclass)?

Jack's character'd be a Goliath Fighter, the only justification I have for this is that I feel like the competitive nature of a Goliath and their desire to push beyond new limits fits him like a glove, also the fighter class suits him just fine imo.

Given his background, I feel like Epel would be a Druid (they're basically magic farmers/gardeners). However, he'd give his character cantrips like Poison Spray, various spells but no healing spells (yea this party is pretty much fucked). You can fight me on this but post-character arc Epel would be a Halfling, he'd use his size as an advantage in combat.

As for Sebek, I can't see him being anything other than a Paladin. He'd most likely be an Aasimar... or maybe a half-elf? No? Too on the nose? Anyways, he'd give his character enchantment spells, and maybe some healing spells like Cure Wounds.

Ortho is the party's main support, with him being a tiny fairy bard (now you see why I had to bring Ortho in this otherwise the party won't even survive the winter). He's just a little lad who loves berries and cream :). He also provides bgm and sfx for the campaign.

I'm sorry but I have very little to no faith for this party. But I'm sure they'll somehow survive.

Together, the fate of the world somehow lies in the hands of these murder hobos.

Random shenanigans

Ace attempting to steal a treasure/sacred item from a monster's lair, only to miserably fail a stealth roll. Everyone had to haul ass out of there.

Deuce getting emotionally attached to an Npc with tragic backstories and/or noble goal, and then stubbornly tried to save that npc and getting upset at the DM for killing them.

something tragic happens and someone just says "this is so sad, Ortho play the acoustic rendition of Piece of My World"

Ace, to every barmaid bc he's broke: "hey (with rizz)" *rolls a Nat 1 Charisma*

With how hotheaded the NRC kids are it's only a matter of time until an npc taunted or look at them the wrong way and they'd be like "oh that's it, now you're gonna get it! I ROLL FOR INITIATIVE!" completely unprompted (like in the second half of the Halloween event bc I still find it insane how everyone immediately resorts to violence, even some of the more levelheaded students).

The one time Ortho and/or Sebek can't make it to a session, Jack gets knocked out by an enemy and the gang tried to heal him. Ace: "ok but can we try slapping him awake?" Deuce:"oh that's a good idea! Can we, Yuu/MC?" Yuu/MC:"...roll me a strength check" (they forgot that they have a healing potion)

The DM sitting there horrified while watching the party using the "power of friendship" on an NPC

I feel like half of them would brute force puzzles in a dungeon and it works like one out of three times or something.

"why do I hear boss music?"

Yuu, the DM, puts their hands together in front of them, a strange smile plastered on their face as they calmly said; "everyone, I want you to roll for initiative 🙂"

I kind of believe Ace will play at least somewhat of a role on episode 7. Maybe the fact they set him up to be Malleus’ birthday interviewer this year is an indicator of that, but I could be reaching.

Ace’s relationship with his friend group is interesting because he acts like he’s just nonchalantly there. Like “What? No, I don’t really care about those people, I’m around just because!” — but as we can see, he really does care. He cares about Deuce, MC, and Grim (I believe some of his vignettes hint to that?). He’s the only one who isn’t visibly upset (as in, not letting it show) at the prospect of MC leaving, choosing to deflect the subject when the mood is souring because of Deuce and Grim saying it’ll get lonely without MC.

Also, I think the friend group just came together beautifully and will be relevant in episode 7. Coincidentally, the friend group has 7 people: Ace, Deuce, Grim, MC, Jack, Epel, Ortho and Sebek. I say Sebek because it’s heavily hinted he’ll join the friend group(what stands out is the 1 year official art and anthology comic cover featuring everyone + Sebek even though at there wasn’t much to justify his presence there). The way Ace, Deuce, MC and Grim initially formed a quartet of people begrudgingly brought together by complete chance then developed into a group of friends is very precious to me, and I believe that’ll at least play a part in this episode, considering this is the one Sebek will (apparently) join our group. Which also makes sense for them to be able to explore Sebek as a character, since this is the Diasomnia episode.

Idk if I’m being a clown and pointing out the obvious but anyways!!! I think Ace might have his moment to shine in the next updates, depending on how the story goes. Or idk, he might be hit by the sleeping spell and stay out of the story the whole time, but since Deuce got his spotlight in Glorious Masquerade, it would be only fair.

I think the birthday interviewers are arbitrary to the main story 🤔 There doesn’t seem to be a clear pattern to the interviewers assigned for the Broomquet series of cards (whereas Birthday Boy and Union definitely did have their own patterns). If there's some significance to Ace interviewing Malleus, then wouldn't the logic hold that the other Broomquet interviewers also have some kind of big tie to the birthday boy...? There doesn't seem to be this importance reflected in all of them, at least as far as I can tell.

Of the main trio (Ace, Deuce, and Grim), Ace seems to be the least emotionally vulnerable. He’s not totally honest about his feelings (despite, ironically, being the one to tell others how it is without any sugarcoating) and uses jokes/humor to deflect from confrontational or difficult situations he doesn’t want to get entangled in. Ace claims to not care, but his actions tell very different stories than his words do (see: the worry he displays in episodes 4 and 6, as well as some vignettes and events). I guess this could be called “tsundere” behavior, but rather than being his entire identity, it’s only a single aspect of Ace and lends to his overall cheeky yet bright character.

Ace doesn’t want to linger on things he considers boring or sad; he lives in the moment and wants to quickly move on to the next thing that may be more fun or happy than the current moment. The same does not hold true for Deuce or Grim, and for very good but also very different reasons. Deuce fixates on his past and his failures due to wanting to reform from his delinquency, and Grim is attached to Yuu because of their close bond as partners, roommates, and master-minion. Given this, of course Deuce and Grim would feel more sad and make remarks about the things they cannot do together anymore once Yuu leaves.

I think it’s possible that Ace has multiple intentions behind not sulking with Deuce and Grim 🤔 For one, yeah, it’s not in Ace’s nature to; he’s just more cheerful than the other two—but I think this speaks to other aspects of his character. He’s the only one of the group to point out that Mickey may not actually be Yuu’s ticket home, yet everyone is treating it like it’s already the end. I wonder if this is Ace lying to himself too—making up some excuse to avoid looking at the truth, or maybe genuinely hoping he’s actually right. Alternatively, maybe Ace is saying these things because he doesn’t want to see his friends sad—or even to alleviate everyone’s pain when Yuu ultimately has to leave (in kind of a “don’t cry now, save your tears for when the time finally comes” way) 🫠

I appreciate that the first years assemble in 7, but it felt a little clunky to me since we didn’t previously see them unite or act as a big group of friends. It was usually just Adeuce + the first year for that particular episode like Epel or isolated incidents (ie checking in with Jack and Savanaclaw pre-VDC in 5). I’m still under the impression that Adeuce and Grim are the close friends of Yuu and the other first years are friends in a looser sense of the word—but narratively speaking, it makes sense to bring the group together for what is meant to be the “last chapter” of their story. It emphasizes how far everyone has come, how they’ve grown so much closer than the circumstances which initially forced them together. It feels more bittersweet seeing the friends made along the way and realizing that Yuu has to say goodbye to them all.

It’s interesting that we end up with 7 people (excluding Yuu from this count), one for each dorm (even if there is no one representing Octavinelle and Scarabia + two representing Heartslabyul). I don’t know if that means anything right now other than being a recurring number, but it would be cool if it does! The promotional materials of the game really seem to market the first years as a group of close knit friends, which is reflected in the fandom works but not super deeply in the main story 🤔 so it’d be nice to see more of the group together and such. I wonder how Sebek will be integrated with them, seeing as he’s so opposed to befriending humans and those outside of the Briar Valley. He’ll certainly complicate the group’s dynamics and add a lot of flair to episode 7!

Oh, I’m sure Ace will have his fun at his own Glorious Masquerade (the Halloween 2023 event will probably be Masquerade Part II with the other half of the NRC cast). I just hope Ace also gets to play a big role in episode 7 😌 and earns his unique magic along the way~

Okay, time for my mixed feelings on Scam Likely and how nobody can escape the repetitive cycle of being an imperfect father. I’ll try to be objective as I break down the scene in Goofs Realm, but I’m in my Scam hater era.

THIS IS LONG, SORRYYYYYY

No father will be perfect in fiction or reality, and it’s a running theme of the show. The mistakes of your past define the present and the families have been constantly doomed to repeat them, but in new, fresh, fucked up ways. There are varying levels of mistakes all of them have made in the story, especially compared to Willy, but he’s his own special case.

Scam’s sin is ignorance. To the world around him and individuals’ feelings. Consistently he is shown to not realize outside of his Goofs that they can heavily affect other people in ways they do not like. That actions have consequences. His entire relationship with Jodie was a joke to him, while Jodie was left without his romantic partner a second time and was scammed out of a son (and in more ways than one since Hermie was spawned as a teenager instead of a baby). It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt, and now that someone is his son and he’s dead.

“He tries to hide the fact that he is actually emotionally affect by this, but he only got a 6, so you can see that he is genuinely upset.”

In his own way, Hermie does matter to him. I think Scam is a very hard being to compare to the rest of the cast because of his Goofs realm nature. He has an entirely different set of morals and ground rules of existence. For christ sake you die forever into nothingness in Goofs Realm if you stop being funny. But now Scam is confronted with a harsh truth and he can’t deny an emotional mode outside of Silly and Laughter.

“I didn’t even think of him as something that could die. He was just a goof. Goofs never die. It’s like- all jokes are always funny forever.”

We truly see Scam’s mindset here. Be it as a Goofs native or just who he is individually, he only thinks of The Big Joke of it all. Hermie was not an individual with feelings to be loved and raised (not that he even raised him at all), Hermie was just a joke to him. And it wasn’t even in any personal way. Everything is a joke to him.

“Where is he? Is he in Hell? Is he in Heaven?”

“I don’t know! He doesn’t have a soul! He’s not like you or me. Well, not like you.

And here it’s cemented in just how irregular Hermie is. Neither him nor Scam have a soul. As much as we’ve visited dead characters on this podcast, there’s nowhere that Hermie can be reached. This incarnation of him is gone forever.

“Do you forgive me for whatever is about to happen? I’m truly going to try.”

Try as he might to make things right — in his own insane way of ‘farting and it’ll be so funny that he’ll come back’ — that’s not something that’s been allowed lately on this show. And what could he even do to make things right anyways? There’s no joke to be made when someone has passed, and no joke can bring them back.

“I’m so sorry, I didn’t think it would happen like this. I didn’t think he would actually develop a personality; he was just supposed to be a Goof machine. Nobody was supposed to be sad if something happened to him.”

Again, Hermie’s existence was just a part of one big goof and scam for him. Meta and Story, Hermie is and was a joke. He was just supposed to be this silly little guy, but then as time marched on he developed into something of a person. Something a lot of us got attached to and something Normal held onto dearly. “Nobody was supposed to be sad if something happened to him”, but he became too much of a Person for that to stay true.

“I could make you another one.”

And then there’s this line. It kills me in a very specific way. Scam is just so disconnected from human nature that he doesn’t know fully realize the value an individual life holds. Yes, he could just make another Hermie, but that’s not the Hermie. To use the first metaphor that comes to mind, it’s like making a mastercopy. In a previous painting class, we studied a singular painting for one project and recreated it to the best of our abilities. As skilled as one can be in painting, you cannot truly recreate the original. There’s history imbued in the original, and it’s lived a lifetime before your own version was created. Even if you create a version indistinguishable from the original, it is still not the same.

All of this is to say that I cannot truly judge Scam, at least from a certain standpoint. I have very mixed feelings about him, but he’s a unique case of a character that’s very different than judging one of the human dads. Am I rambling here? Am I spouting nonsense? I don’t know, I’m still in distress over crying multiple times from this episode. I’m not proof reading this lol

while typing this out i have another question, which of the dreamers are still alive in your AU, and what are their relationships with fpk, if any? since holly is alive id assume you branched off of the embrace the void ending, and i dont believe you need to kill any dreamers for that end (if I'm wrong, do correct me!), and quirrel in your AU doesn't have monomons mask, so i can only assume ghost at least got to her.

it was... not the best, admittedly. granted, they weren't hostile towards each other, i actually think that herrah warmed up to him a little bit, mostly seeing how attached he got to hornet. they certainly had a common reason to bond over, the problem is that fpk was afraid of her. among his species, it's quite common for the larger female to kill and eat the male after mating, so it's coded in his brain to expect that possibility. with wl, it was a bit different - she's more plant-like, and so her behavior is very different to that of a wyrm, or any other carnivorous species, and that comforts his mind a little bit. but with herrah, he sadly couldn't have that assurance, so he was very stressed out about it and expecting the worst

their affair was part of a bargain, so he knew it was his obligation to fullfil his side, but he was terrified throughout all of it. on top of that, since he's gay in the au, he had another reason not to enjoy it very much, though he didn't realize at the time. so all in all, it was a very unpleasant experience, and it greatly impacted his perception of herrah. i do think he have liked for it to be different, after all, she was hornet's mother and i'm sure he would love to have a more pleasant relationship with her, if only for the sake of their daughter. but his fear was too strong and so he rarely visited deepnest aside from seeing hornet (probably for the better since deepnest wasn't particularly fond of him. too bright of a light, for one haha)

as for grimm, you said herrah, but judging by the rest of that sentence i'm assuming you meant hornet, so just in case i'll go over both. i don't think he interacted with herrah much, perhaps he knew her before the whole bargain deal, but nothing more than just being aware of her existence. and with hornet, like you said, she's basically his daughter now and he most certainly sees her as such. definitely more than wl did, but her being emotionally distant is basically a given - she didn't dislike hornet but to call their relationship a mother-daughter one would be an exaggeration. grimm, however, absolutely sees her as his own child. he did that even before him and fpk became a thing - he always liked to imagine himself and fpk raising her together, but since it wasn't meant to be at the time, he instead brought her gifts and entertained her with his powers whenever he visited. these days it's a tad more complicated with hornet's refusal to admit that she sees him as a father figure and her overall bitterness, but his attitude hasn't changed at all. of course, he doesn't pamper her with gifts anymore, but he enjoys spending time with her and bonding over shared interests. their relationship is fun, they have the generally laid back, joking type dynamic of close friends, but it's clear that grimm does thinks of her as his child, meanwhile hornet seems to get upset at that idea, but secretly really cares about him

the dreamers are something i thought about before and i'm considering leaving one of them alive, since i think they're interesting characters and i'd love to explore at least one of them post-ending. as you said, monomon is a goner, and so is herrah, as hornet in the au finds there to be no reason to visit deepnest unless she has to, so it's a natural assumption that her mother is dead. that leaves lurien, and with the city of tears slowly returning to its prime over the course of the au, he would be a pretty good fit for an important figure that watches over its development. but i haven't decided yet. if i choose to keep him dead, then i think it would be a fun idea for his butler to be "promoted" to lurien's previous role, since he was his most trusted bug. we'll see, i like both of those options, and i'll have to see what i decide on

What are the relationships between Cian and the other Hellcrew characters?

Oh oh oh! This is a great question to start with! I mainly just covered Cian's side of the relationships but I can elaborate more on things if specifically asked!

Killian Lynch

Complicated isn't a strong enough word and "eugh," is how I feel when I get into the nitty gritty of it. Cian is... extremely obsessive towards Killian. He idolizes Killian and holds him on a pedestal. Cian is obsessed with, to quote him, "living up to my father's legacy." Cian is obsessed with getting Killian's approval. Cian is obsessed with the idea of being incredibly close with Killian emotionally. He's obsessed with the idea of a version of his life where Killian was always there. Cian is obsessed with impressing Killian. Cian is obsessed with-- I think you get the idea.

Devlin is Cian's boyfriend, and Cian's Ultimate Favorite Person™ (Cian has BPD & NPD). Cian is beyond attached to Devlin, and has accidentally broken Devlin's hand on multiple occasions because he held it too tightly. Cian is very faithful to Devlin, he loves him and has since they first met in their 20s. Cian is 100% a malewife lol. Ultimately, Devlin and Cian have a very healthy and happy relationship. They don't really fight ever, though they do lightheartedly bicker a lot lol. Scarfaxia says that Devlin will try to pretend to be annoyed by Cian being so attached but Devlin actually loves it and would be upset if Cian wasn't.

Julius Doherty

Cian is about as close as one is able to get to Julius. They always have had a friend type of relationship, even though Cian was only 13 when he first met a then 23 year old Julius. Because Julius is emotionally stunted in a teenage mindset in many ways, he wound up forming a (genuinely) platonic friendship of sort with Cian off the bat. They're still incredibly close.

Octavian Doherty

Cian and Octavian have gotten to know each other over the years due to Octavian being Devlin's older brother. Octavian is protective of Devlin ("hurt me bwatha an' I'll fawkin kill yaw!") but Cian actually is appreciative of that, because Cian is also protective towards Devlin. They get along.

Sullivan Sweeney

Sullivan hates Cian because Cian reminds him so much of Killian, and Sullivan hates Killian.

Duvessa Doyle

Mother of one of Cian's (many) children. They got up to the bowchickawowow when Cian was still human, 19 at the time. He only was in her life to be involved with their child when the child was growing up. Now he acts like she doesn't exist.

Cian keeps his distance from her. He's plenty smart enough to know that she's got his issues figured out to a pretty damn good extent and knows she'll call him on bullshit. He doesn't want to risk the trigger.

Similar to Killian, Cian likes a lot of Seamus' s...uh.. photography but doesn't see it as the magnificent art Seamus thinks it to be. Like Killian, Cian just sees it as jerk it material. He isn't particularly close to Seamus, especially given that because Killian doesn't like Seamus, then Cian also doesn't.

Kelly Duffy

Not all that close, but video gaming bros. Cian is the only person who Kelly has a chance on making go WASTED™ in GTA

Oh god how do I even start I don't know where to begin. Uh. Nothing good. Very very very bad.

Shows that were canned too early that deserved better (imo)

We all hate it when we get wayy too invested into a show with good characters, an interesting plot, and a solid setup right? Well it seems that the networks for these shows didn’t really see it that way sadly, some of these shows are known, others aren’t, but this is just gonna be me rambling about how we didn’t get more of these said shows 😭

The Owl House

Now this one I wont dig deep into too long? We did get a solid ending in the end, but we were definitely robbed of a full season 3

The fact that this was Disneys next big thing, (like Gravity Falls) and still got axed kinda baffles me a bit because executives love big ratings

I heard they cancelled it because of it ‘not fitting the disney brand’ (mostly because there were two main gay characters in it) which I thought was super unfair, because they really were that homophobic 💀

All in all, I enjoyed this show and wanted a full season 3

Close Enough

From Regular Show creator J.G Quintel, this show was definitely more for an older audience, and let me say they did amazing at it.

The shows humor didn’t revolve around cussing or sex jokes, (which is what I see all the time now in modern adult animation) and the show was definitely funny!

Unfortunately though, Max cancelled it after 3 seasons due to the merge of Discovery + and HBO Max, with Max canning alot of shows during that time, this being one of them

We kinda sorta got left on a cliffhanger of sorts?? At least imo. Liked the show and wish we had more

Wander Over Yonder

For a show made by Craig McCracken (Powerpuff Girls, Fosters Home) you’d think it would be popular and have a bunch of seasons right?

Well no, with this show only having two seasons after Disney cancelled it because ‘80 episodes were enough for this show’ which is kinda dumb?? I dunno I just don’t like executives and rules and stuff

I remember this show from my childhood, it was really good in my opinion, I feel like we could’ve had more if Disney didn’t cancel it as early as it did

Inside Job

The fact that this show left on a cliffhanger too made me even more upset that Netflix cancelled it as early as they did

Not only was this another adult animated show that didn’t rely on cussing or sex jokes, the story was actually really interesting too and if the show did continue, we would’ve had a happy ending

Screw Netflix actually I will never forgive them for this one

Grojband

I CANNOT stress enough about how this show deserved so much more than what it got, I actually would’ve put it at number one, but the next one is kinda justifiable so ._.

From Todd Kauffman and Mark Thornton (Total Drama Island) this show featured a kid and his friends that were in a band, and used lead singers sisters diary as lyric ideas, bc they suck at writing them

And I loved it

I swear I don’t think I’ve ever been heavily interested in and emotionally attached to the characters in a show before, it was so good

The songs in this show were also heavenly, I suggest you give them a listen, theyre really good!

Also another reason I really liked the show was because it was a Canadian toon that didn’t revolve around gross out humor (I applaud them for that)

Unfortunately this was a show Cartoon Network screwed over BIG time, with when it came out during the summer it was airing, kids were mostly outside playing, never really gaining an audience, and then after the first half of the season aired, it was on a 2 YEAR hiatus. With fans questioning if the show would ever come back

Fortunately it did! Except Cartoon Network shoved it on their app, and a year later shoved it onto their sister channel, Boomerang. Then, after the show FINALLY ended their first season, the show was immediately cancelled, with Cartoon Network never really giving it a chance

The whole way Cartoon Network handled this show frustrated me immensely, with it having a decent fanbase, and people wanted more (me being one of them:()

The creators even had alot of plans for next said season, but I guess we will never get to see them (unless a Clone High situation happens but that’s doubtful)

Show was very underrated and deserved SO much more, Cartoon Network fumbled this one and the last show Im about to mention

Sym Bionic Titan

This sci fi animated series by Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack, Dexters Lab) only lasted one season with 20 episodes

With Cartoon Network cancelling it because of the failure to produce a TOY LINE

The fact this show got axed because of toys just makes me so upset

This was one of those shows that also left on a cliffhanger sadly, so we never really got to see how this show properly ended

With Genndy even saying that he wrote 10 more episodes, but now we will never get to see them

ALSO THE SHOWS SOUNDTRACK WAS SO GOOD?! Love when shows put banger songs in the bg, reminded me so much of Clone High

Anyways thats pretty much it? These are just my opinion tho, everyone is entirely different

Swap AU Cassie is SO BABY……. would love more of her and your beautiful human Roxy.

Although - and forgive me if I ramble a bit here - this takes place in a Ruin equivalent time yeah? Wouldn’t Cassie be more banged up? It’d be sad but she probably would be right? :[

It’s okay, I’m sure Roxy could fix her up. She probably does her own car maintenance ‘cause she’s a badass.

Ooh, now I’m also wondering what a base-game Swap would be like…

Lol, it should take place during the day and Freddy’s trying to smuggle Gregory out, and shenanigans ensue! (Possibly Gregory is due to be scrapped, so Freddy wants to keep the clearly sentient, slightly feral-acting child-like robot from that fate. He got emotionally attached <3)

Of course, if Roxy and Freddy are visiting there then there is prolly some attraction attracting lone adult patrons.. idk what that means for changes to the theme of the Megaplex.. But that’s not important right now!

Also, the main obstacle for Freddy would just generally be that he is trying to steal a child-sized robot in broad daylight while the place is possibly open/at least has workers there that he has to dodge. Good luck to the big guy.

Actually, the now-humans could be workers at the Plex. Like say instead of having tons of bots all over, they only had a few (like Cassie, Gregory, and possibly Vanny?) that were designed specifically to seem/be completely harmless, and more childlike. Cassie and Gregory could’ve been made to attend birthday parties (especially of lonely/upset kids), and Vanny could be a playful and friendly older figure who helps lost kids and cheers up anyone who’s feeling down. (I’d probably include Vanessa as a security program assigned to Vanny because. Security guard. Plus we’ve already seen that with Moon.)

In this case Gregory would probably still be messed up and act weird and get retired and shut down to be scrapped for parts, leading to Freddy finding him and rebooting him and then deciding to take him home once he figures out what’s up.

That kinda begs the question of what everyone’s jobs would be in the Plex, ‘cause how would Freddy find Gregory? And why would Cassie and Roxy be close in this version?

Well I have some answers to that!! ….I have no idea what Freddy’s job would be! He has. Very little by way of interesting character traits. Same with Monty. Why are the men so uninteresting in this game. Maybe Freddy’s a manager, since he was the leader of the band? Maybe he was taking inventory when he found Gregory? Idk!

Chica is definitely easier to pick for because she actually has distinct traits, and gets the obvious choice of working in the kitchen/bakery. (On that note, this kind of feels like a lower tech AU with less automated jobs, so managerial work/cooking/other tasks that are automated in SB I’ll give to people lol)

Would it be a dick move to make Monty a janitor? Lmao I swear I don’t hate him but idk what to give him at this point. Night guard? He could be a night guard.

….do I need to assign Bonnie a job? Wouldn’t he technically be dead? (He’s associated with the wet floor bots right? He could be a janitor.)

Who I REALLY have ideas for is everybody’s favorite, Roxy!! Saved her for last cause I knew I’d go on about her. She would totally be the maintenance gal for the race track - keeping the karts in working order, making sure the track is safe to drive on, etc. I imagine she could also do general maintenance, but her main area she works in is the racetrack.

As for how she and Cassie met. Well. Roxy is shown to be a very insecure person in the games. So what if the people she knew were busy and forgot/missed her birthday? And a little bunny, built for accompanying lonely and upset folks on their birthday, sees how upset she is, and overhears Roxy talking to herself and mention her birthday?

Well, I’m just saying, that little bun might just go hunt down a spare small cake from the bakery to put some candles in, and saunter her way into the nearly empty room to place it right in front of her new friend, smile, and say “Happy birthday, Roxy!”

The thems <3 I hope any of this makes sense I am just Thinking About Them…..

OMG THESE ARE SUCH GOOD IDEAS ANON. BIG BRAINED !!! I love the job choices for the gang (Monty being a janitor/nightguard is so funny 😭) and Vanny being along with animatronic Cassie and Gregory is rlly good, it's something I definitely I thought of! (She would be a rabbit ofc)

And that last part IS SO CUUTE !! I need to draw young Roxy with Cassie.....

And to answer your first question: Yes, it takes place in ruin and she would be banged up. But!! I decided not to draw her ruined version because I wanted to show off her design, if that makes sense?? :0 when I do expand on this au, I'll change it in the future which will be PAINFUL :(
