#like the jedi temple seems like a BIG PLACE

“Am I even allowed to be here?” Cody asked as they walked through the temple. The war room, other parts that were now used for military purposes, sure. But the depths of the temple, the Jedi´s home?
“You´re here on my invite,” Obi-Wan chuckled. “But even if I hadn´t, you´re always welcome in the temple. You all are.”
When they finally reached the door to Obi-Wan´s quarters and quick fingers flew over the datapad by the door, it opened with a quiet hiss. Cody waited until Obi-Wan had fully stepped into the room before carefully leaned forward, taking a look around what he could see of the room. He was waiting for Obi-Wan´s OK to step in, but instead was pulled inside by his arm. Now seeing the full extent of the quarters, his mouth almost fell open.
“This is nice,” he said. The room was bigger than any single person´s room he´d ever seen, with a big window spanning almost an entire wall. Which Obi-Wan now walked towards, shutting the blinds partly.
“Well, I suppose it is more room than I really need,” Obi-Wan said, something in his tone of voice almost apologetic. But it was probably true. There wasn´t much in the room. A simple table to work and to eat from. Two cushions in the middle of the room, likely for meditation or whatever Jedi did in their free time. A wardrobe. Cody couldn´t help but to wonder how many identical robes it housed, and the thought almost made him chuckle.
The other side of the room held a small counter, though the only thing on it was a kettle and a handful of mismatched mugs. A narrow bed was standing against the wall, surrounded by wooden boards that served as shelves, overfilled with… Stuff. Most of it seemed so random. He looked at it all for a moment, unable to decide what to really look at first, fascinated.
“What is all this?” Obi-Wan smiled, passing Cody to take a little wooden cube off one shelf.
“Little trinkets from places, planets I´ve visited. Some I didn´t visit. A lot of them used to belong to my Master.”
His small smile remained the same, but his eyes betrayed him. “This particular one was a gift from a little girl I met on a mission. Her name was Da’laa,” he said before placing the cube back in its place, already moving on to the next. Cody wanted to ask him about it, but he felt it wasn´t his place. He´d have to do that some other time, some day in the future when they´d gotten to know each other better.
This time, he motioned for Cody to put out his hand, and Obi-Wan placed the next object inside. Cody almost jerked back when he felt its warmth, but Obi-Wan held his hand in place, closing Cody´s fingers around it.
“What is this?” Cody asked, aware that he wasn´t able to hide his surprise. Obi-Wan chuckled, letting go of his hand, allowing him to take a look at it. A small rock was lying in his palm, seemingly burning from the inside, its bright orange glow cracking through the otherwise dark surface. Cody had never seen anything like it.
“It´s a bahryn meteorite. Well, a small piece of one,” he explained, looking at it in Cody´s hand, smiling. “It´s like a tiny sun, isn´t it? Keeping you warm, lighting up the darkness. Quite ironically, it´s an ice moon they are found on.”
“It´s beautiful,” Cody said. He inspected it for a moment longer before he handed it back to Obi-Wan and watched him as he carefully put it back in its place. “Even on a moon made of ice there has to be some warmth. Almost like a reward. You probably appreciate it a lot more after almost freezing to death.” From the corner of his eye he saw Obi-Wan watching him curiously.
“I didn´t know you were so poetic,” Obi-Wan said, something that could so easily sound mocking. But it was genuine. Embarrassed, Cody turned.
“You know all there is to know about me,” he countered. Obi-Wan hummed, passing him to put on the kettle.
“I doubt that,” he said, and something about his certainty made Cody want to argue. Before he could, though, Obi-Wan continued. “What´s your favorite color?” The question took him aback.
“What?” No one had ever asked him that, and yet he found that he didn´t have to think about the answer. Obi-Wan started to repeat the question, but Cody interrupted him. “Green.” Obi-Wan nodded.
“Why?” Cody hesitated. Obi-Wan poured two cups of tea, and even while setting them down, he never stopped looking at Cody for longer than a moment, expectantly. He gestured for him to sit.
“Thank you,” he took the cup Obi-Wan pushed towards him. He hesitated for a moment longer. “Growing up on Kamino…” he began, fumbling with the cup´s handle. “Well, you know what Kamino looks like. I´d never seen trees or grass or anything like that before we left to continue our training here. I´d heard descriptions, variations of what General Ti must have told some of my brothers when we were kids, and they modified it with each telling until it sounded mystical, with glowing leaves and shimmering meadows, whispering in the wind. So before I first saw any of that, I loved the idea of it.” Obi-Wan listened intently, a small smile on his lips.
“Did it look the way you expected it to?” he asked, and Cody huffed.
“Absolutely not. I was disappointed, to be honest. It was just green. But I think it was experiencing it for the first time that made me love the color anyway.” Obi-Wan smiled fondly.
“See? That´s two things I didn´t know about you.” Cody averted his gaze, trying to keep their eyes from meeting. He really hadn´t intended to discuss private matters like that with anyone, so why was it so easy with Obi-Wan? Something about his presence made him want to open up, tell him everything about his past, his thoughts and dreams. It sounded so good, so easy, that for a second, it outweighed the ridiculousness of it and he felt his heartrate rise, a strange feeling spreading through his stomach.
“So what is yours, then?” he asked, ignoring the feeling. Obi-Wan smiled, closing his eyes for a moment.
“I love the colors of the sunrise. Its changing hues and the promise of a new day…” Cody smiled as he watched Obi-Wan get caught up in the thought.
“I didn´t know you were so poetic,” Cody said through a grin.
“Are you teasing me, Commander?” Obi-Wan asked, his tone serious, and Cody felt heat rise in his cheeks.
“I wouldn´t dare to.” There was that feeling in his stomach again. In his chest now, too. Obi-Wan´s serious face fell and his smile returned, growing bigger the longer he looked at Cody. And Cody´s heart was racing, the sound in his ears muffling everything around him. If he wasn´t already sitting, he´d be sure that he was going to faint. It would be so easy now to give in to his feelings, to lean across the table and kiss Obi-Wan. To walk him backwards towards his bed until they stumble onto it, to— Cody wrapped his fingers tightly around the hot mug in his hands, trying to ground himself in reality. It didn´t help much, though. He tried to force the thought out of his mind. Could Obi-Wan sense what he was feeling? Did the Force work like that? Cody hoped not.
“So, Abrion Bridge,” he changed the topic, watching as the smile faded from Obi-Wan´s face.
The next hour or so was a painful one, talking about their failure. It was hard to think of it as anything but. They´d gotten what they went there for, but at a cost so high that it felt pointless. They concluded that there was nothing they could´ve done to change a second of it. Obi-Wan gathered the papers that were spread over the entire desk between them. He´d insisted on making notes and drawing alternative plans on paper, saying that it would help them get a better overview rather than their datapads. And Cody had been amazed at the simple fact that he had paper. Though it made sense for the temple, for the Jedi. It almost had something spiritual, compared to the cold, soulless feeling of the technology and its cold, blue light. Obi-Wan rolled them up now and placed them in the bin, sighing. He headed towards his bed, sitting on the edge and letting himself fall back. Cody had risen too, and was now looking at him, unsure of what to do. Without looking up, Obi-Wan patted the empty space beside him, and Cody hesitated. Could he do that? His feet decided he could before his mind had processed the thought, and he was sitting on the edge beside him.
“I want this all to be over,” Obi-Wan suddenly said. “This war, the endless battles, being told that another person you grew up with has been killed. This endless pain.” Cody wasn´t sure what to say. He turned to him, but Obi-Wan still wasn´t looking.
“I never knew anything else,” he tried, carefully. Finally, Obi-Wan took a deep breath, turning his head to face him.
“But how do you take it? Those men are your brothers. How do you deal with losing hundreds, thousands of them at a time?” His voice sounded so close to breaking, desperate for answers. Answers Cody couldn´t give him. None that would change a thing.
“Well, we were trained from early on, to—we were taught that we were expendable. Where ten of us are killed, they will send ten new ones. They´ll send hundred new ones, a thousand if necessary. I´m not sure if we´re not physically capable of processing it too deeply or for too long, or if we were just trained to pretend that we are fine with it. It is painful every time. But there´s nothing we can do. If we don´t believe we´re expendable ourselves, we might just go insane realizing what´s happening.” Cody huffed, and Obi-Wan stared at him, eyes wide. Cody shrugged. “This is the only purpose we have. We were made for war. They would probably prefer if we couldn´t think on our own at all.”
“You´re awfully aware of something you say you´re not supposed to be aware of.” Obi-Wan´s voice was quiet, sad. “Why is that?” Cody had never thought about why. It just was.
“I´m not sure,” he admitted. “I have just always felt it. Deep down I always knew what was happening.” Obi-Wan hummed, turning back to stare at the ceiling once again, seemingly unsure of what to say.
“I wish we could´ve met under different circumstances.” Cody smiled.
“Under different circumstances, we wouldn´t have met at all,” Cody reminded him and Obi-Wan sighed.
“I know. I just wish we could have a normal friendship, one that isn´t centered around death and destruction and loss.” Cody´s breath stocked for a moment. Obi-Wan considered him a friend. Of course he knew they´d gotten close, but Obi-Wan calling him a friend? Cody knew brotherhood, he´d experienced it thousands of times, but friendship? Was this what friendship felt like? The tingling in his chest when he looked at Obi-Wan lying there, his face contorted in frustration, told him that what he felt was more, even with no prior experience to compare it to.
“It doesn´t have to be,” he said, feeling brave. Obi-Wan glanced at him from the corner of his eye. “It can also be moments like this. Quiet. Where you ask me to tell you things I´ve never told anyone before, and you show me things from all the places you´ve visited. You tell me about your life before this war started.” Obi-Wan smiled.
“I would like that very much.”
“Me too.” Cody´s heart was beating fast. It would´ve been so easy to lean down and kiss Obi-Wan. To caress his cheek, thread his fingers through his hair, and to kiss him. To be pulled against him and held on tightly. Sighing, Obi-Wan sat up straight, pulling Cody out of his thoughts.
“I suppose that will have to wait, though,” he said, mild annoyance in his voice. “I have a meeting with the council this evening.”
“Anything important?” Cody chuckled at his exasperation, and Obi-Wan looked at him with something in his eyes that Cody couldn´t place, something that softened his entire face.
“Yes, quite so,” he sighed. “There have been talks about a mission, and this morning it has been assigned to Anakin and me. We haven´t gotten many details yet, I´m hoping that will change tonight. I´m not a big fan of this secrecy.” Cody smiled. He knew how much Obi-Wan liked to be prepared, they were so similar in that way. Being left without details for so long was excruciating.
“I should get going then,” Cody suggested. “Will you tell me about the plan and let me know before you leave?” Obi-Wan nodded.
“Of course I will,” he said. “I won´t go anywhere without telling you.” Obi-Wan sighed. “And you´re probably right, we don´t want your brothers to start worrying.” There was a twinkle in his eye as he said this, the slightest evidence of a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips, and Cody felt himself getting nervous again.
“Alright.” Cody rose, almost frantically he realized. “I´ll see you then.” He could swear he felt Obi-Wan´s amused look at the back of his neck as he made for the door, desperate to hide the blush he knew Obi-Wan wouldn´t even see. The amusement was there in his voice when he spoke, too.
“I´ll see you, Commander.”

Attachment of a Child [part 1]
Pairings: Obi-Wan Kenobi x child!reader (includes Kit Fisto)
Imagine: one of the children in the Jedi temple seems to have formed an attachment to Obi-Wan and follows him around all over the temple whenever he’s there
Warnings: fluff, Obi-Wan hugs, Obi-Wan taking care of a child (that needs a warning for real), Obi accidentally adopted you, otherwise none, I think, it’s just fluff, Not proofread
A/N I couldn’t stop myself from writing this, it just came to me randomly and I had to write it, I don’t even know if it’s good or not I just had to write it bc just imagine Obi-Wan being followed by a child who copies his movements, that’s so adorable 🥰 <3
If you have any ideas for Obi-Wan x padawan!reader (platonic obviously) please feel free to send them to me, I love writing Obi-Wan x padawan
Tumblr media
The first time Obi-Wan had stepped into the room filled with younglings after “defeating” Darth Maul, he wasn’t too surprised when he saw all of the children’s eyes light up. Big eyes stared at him with amazement and wonder, as well as curiosity and excitement.
The now Jedi master had gained some kind of fame with the younglings ever since he became a master and defeated a Sith Lord. Not to say that the children didn’t love him before (they sure did), but now they all seemed to look up to him as some sort of war hero. Look at him for wisdom more so than the other masters, Yoda being the exception.
One youngling in particular had taken a shine to the newly made master. You. Obi-Wan had nothing against you, he quite liked taking care of you from time to time, it was a distraction from all the chaos in the galaxy at the moment. He found it rather calming and he would never say no to teaching anyone something new, especially younglings who had the curiosity that could go on for forever. You were no different from those younglings except you didn’t ask your questions (too shy to do it) but rather listened intently to any information Obi-Wan would tell the class. It was one of the reasons why you loved classes with Master Kenobi. He was calm and could talk for hours and had most of the answers to all of your classmates questions (therefore your questions were answered as well, for the most part).
Nights were often spent with the younglings as he told them one of his many stories from another planet. He lulled them to sleep with his calm voice as he talked about facts he picked up from his reading about the planet, or missions he had with Anakin or his former master. Obi-Wan hadn’t stopped you when you crawled up onto his lap, nor did he stop any other of the younglings as they cuddled into the warmth he radiated to their sleepy forms.
More than one time you had been the child to sit on his lap, for some reason the Master nearly always picked you up and placed you on his lap, or he just let you plant yourself on his lap without a single complaint. He knew he made your anxieties calm down as he let you cuddle into his side. If he could help the younglings in any way, he would to the best of his abilities. He was once one himself after all and knew how the life of a youngling could be. The anxiety that could be brought to any of them at any moment if they failed, the strict rules or the doubt they felt, the rumors of danger. Especially with what everyone knew was an upcoming war and the betrayal of Dooku and the death of Darth Maul. Along with those rumors and facts they were supposed to study and become a future Jedi while not forming attachments and nor were they allowed to act on their emotions, especially the fear and anger that they felt. So yes, Obi-Wan would gladly let you sit on his lap if it helped you calm down while he told you and the other children a story before they were supposed to sleep.
It’s safe to say that it wasn’t uncommon for any one in the temple to see any of the younglings run up to Obi-Wan for help, especially if something troubled them. Nor was it uncommon to see you walking beside the master. Which was what happened today.
Obi-Wan had just walked past the room in which you and your classmates had just finished up your first lesson of the day. Some of the younglings had already rushed out of the room before Master Yoda could even finish his sentence, you were one among them. You had felt Obi-Wan’s force signature and you saw him through the slightly opened door walk past the room and you had sprinted out of the room not willing to lose him in the many halls of the temple. Luckily for you the temple was relatively empty at this time in the morning so it didn’t take you too long to find the brown cloak and his auburn hair among those walking the corridors.
The Jedi Master heard small feet sprint towards him but he made no indication of turning around towards the person or to wait for the child to catch up, he already knew it was you, how could he not, he was way too familiar with your force signature. He knew where you were at any time of the day, your force signature rather strong for a child.
If he had turned around he would have seen that you had mimicked his actions. You put your hand behind your back like he had done, you tried to walk in his pace as well as in the same way he walked. This proved quite hard even if the master had slowed down a tad bit for you as he felt you walking beside him, but the long strides were still too fast for a child to catch up entirely to. Any Jedi master that walked past the two of you thought they saw a mini kenobi as you mimicked his every action, even when he rubbed against his beard (even though you didn’t have beard yourself you still did it)
“Hello Master Kenobi” In watching Obi-Wan and trying to mimic him you had completely forgotten to look at where you were going and so you didn’t notice when Obi-Wan stopped in front of Kit Fisto.
“Hello Master Fisto” Kenobi answered politely, giving a smile back towards Master Fisto who gave his signature charming smile. By the time Obi-Wan said that you had looked up and the Nautolan turned towards you as he noticed you standing next to the jedi master you were still mimicking. He studied you for a second, a puzzled look grazed his future before his smile was back.
“And hello to you too youngling, I see you’ve taken a shine to Master Kenobi” A blush spread itself over your cheeks as you got called out by the Jedi in front of you.
The words stumbled out of you as you quietly said “Hello Master Fisto”.
After the words left you, you hid away behind Kenobi's robes not wanting anyone to see your embarrassed state. To this Obi-Wan, like a natural instinct, put his left arm to shield you. Kit Fisto’s reaction to this was what every jedi had told you and Obi-Wan a lot of times before.
“Be careful with the young one Obi-Wan, they might become a bit too attached to you otherwise”
The master like everyone else knew you were already attached towards the master that you hid behind. He could have stopped it all, right there and then, so could Obi-Wan and the rest of the order, but somehow they allowed it, they let it slide by them, if they didn’t see anything then it wasn’t their problem, and if they saw they opted to ignore it. You were like a bright shining cyber crystal in the temple as you cutely followed the auburn haired master around. And it seemed like everyone needed something bright at the moment, with the darker times that were approaching. No, Kit Fisto wouldn’t be the one to stop your attachment towards the newest member of the council, but what he could do was give a warning. He did not want an innocent child or Obi-Wan to fall, not that either of you would, but he could still give the occasional reminders, like Master Windu seemed to give away way too many times.
You were attached, and nothing would stop that. Obi-Wan noticed when he looked down at you, that you were still mimicking his movements. He gave you a fond smile as he studied your stance. You stood in the same posture as him and frankly you looked like a mini him, not that he complained about it, Obi-Wan found it quite amusing how you seemed to want to act like him any chance you got. Not only was it amusing to him but he found it adorable. But so was the thought of every other person in the Jedi temple who had seen you walk after the Jedi master any chance you got since you got old enough to walk.

cal kestis x reader
Tumblr media
summary: despite being close for years, you and cal go your separate ways after a particularly harsh argument. cal doesn’t see or hear of you for a long time, but stumbles across an old jacket of yours that reveals something to him
warnings: angsttttt, yelling/arguing, injuries, death, perhaps ooc!mean cal
a/n: i’m so sorry to the reqs sitting in my drafts ive had no motivation😭 specifically to the person who requested modern!anakin @ a halloween party it’s a little late for that now i feel like…. but anyways y’all might not know this but i’m obsessed w our boy cal and UGH. this prompt from @fallen-vic just struck me right and i had to get writing right away
Tumblr media
the last four months had been a blur.
one second you were stripping an old star destroyer on bracca with cal, and the next he was fighting an imperial inquisitor while you cowered away in the corner. then you had boarded a ship with a lanky woman and abrasive latero. they had taken you to a planet hidden from the empire, a place where you thought you and cal could live safely. you couldn’t have been more wrong.
cal returned from the temple on bogano that first day talking about restoring the jedi order and a holocron? from there, it was all downhill. back and forth between kashyyyk, zeffo, and dathomir, all the while cal was forced to face strong enemies that left him on the brink of death every day. and you were tasked with patching him up at the end of every mission.
too many times have you entered his rooms while he was preparing to leave again and begged him to stay. it was always the same answer- i’ll be back before you know it. he couldn’t know, though, the feelings you harbored for him. he couldn’t understand how it pained you physically to watch him leave and come back beaten and bruised. but you stayed, because you loved him, and because you believed he wanted you with him.
it was all too much for you today. it seemed insane; they were planning to infiltrate the fortress inquisitorius and retrieve the holocron. you had stopped on a small planet to stock up on supplies before the big mission, and you were in your usual position: pleading with cal.
“cal, please,” you begged, tears welling up in your eyes. “this is just- it’s too dangerous cal! i mean, an imperial fort, for fucks sake! cal, if you didn’t come back from this… i don’t know-“
he cut you off with a reassuring hand on your arm. “y/n, i’ll be alright. i’ll have cere with me, and i’m stronger than ever. trust me.”
“you say that every time, you know. and every time, without fail, you come back closer to death than i’ve ever seen you. cal, we’ve found you passed out in the mud on kashyyyk. we’ve found you slumped against a generator on zeffo with a blaster wound in your stomach. no one will be there to find you if things go wrong this time, cal.” you say numbly, vaguely aware that there’s nothing you can say to make him stay.
“you’re being dramatic.” he says plainly. “you have no reason to be worried. i always come back, y/n. this time will be no different. you need to calm down.”
you groan in frustration, at his naïveté. “no, cal! you don’t understand… how much it hurts to watch you go. and who knows where you would be without me to put your pieces back together.”
you hear him scoff and look down at your hands as tears finally fall down your cheeks. you can tell he’s stressed by the tension in his shoulders.
“without you? y/n, i don’t need you to do this.” his words hurt, but you try to tell yourself the mission is getting to his head, that he doesn’t mean what he’s saying.
“y/n,” he says, waving a hand in front of your face, “did you hear me? i. don’t. need. you. if you’re so worried about me, maybe you should just leave. then i wouldn’t be bothering you so much.” he stood up angrily and marched off.
was he being honest? did he really want you to leave? all these years you had told yourself that he needed you with him, but maybe you had been mistaken.
you didn’t give yourself time to think. cere and greez had both made it clear that your presence on the mantis was unnecessary, and now that cal had said the same you had to go. you only packed the bare essentials: a canister of water, a couple weeks of rations, and a thick jacket for cold nights. you left through the front entrance without a word to anyone. cal simply watched you go.
Tumblr media
a year later - cal's pov
there was no use in trying to hide it, it had been a hard year for cal. a year made much harder by your absence. he had tried to tell himself that you leaving was your decision, that it wasn't his fault. but as he played the argument over in his mind he found himself regretting everything he'd said. cal had been nervous, scared even, of the upcoming mission in the fortress. he'd let trilla and the empire get in his head, and it had cost him everything.
even after he'd retrieved the holocron - and ultimately destroyed it - he never searched for you. he didn't know why. the urge had struck him many times, but he never knew where to begin looking or what he would say to get you back.
it hurt even now, as cal lay in his bunk on the mantis weeping silently to himself. the mantis was empty, the engine humming softly as it flew through hyperspace. all the lights were out and cal's pillow was damp with tears. he hesitantly rose from his bed, staggering to the navigation panel in a sleep-deprived stupor. his cheeks are stained and his hair is tousled as he falls back into the pilot's chair, and he plugs the coordinates to a forgotten outer rim planet into the navigation system.
cal was exhausted, hungry, and mentally drained, but he managed to make it back to his bunk before he passed out.
. . .
something in the cockpit beeped quite loudly, waking cal from his sleep and alerting him that they were nearing their destination. the royal blue color of nez peron was pleasing to the eye, but brought back painful memories for cal. this was where they had made their last supply run before heading toward the fortress. this was the last place he saw the love of his life.
landing the mantis was the easy part; finding you, not so much. cal started in the sparse cities, scanning cantinas and shops, asking about a y/n l/n at every apartment complex and inn. he began to lose hope as he neared the edge of the latest city. just then he remembered you talking absentmindedly as he worked on his lightsaber, saying how it was your dream to live in the forest and live off the lands. it sounded crazy at the time, but now it made sense.
with a newfound passion, cal began searching the forests and plains for you. each dead end made him want to find you more and more, but there were no signs of life anywhere he looked.
one day, he was scanning the ground for any human tracks when a piece of fabric caught his eye. it was dusty, black, and oddly familiar. there were pieces of the same fabric just a little further up the trail he was following. up ahead, cal could just make out the shape of your thick winter coat on the ground.
his steps picked up into a light jog as he neared the jacket. as he examined it closer, he saw a dark stain had dried down on the stomach, and when he bent over to pick it up he was flooded with a powerful force echo.
_______
you had misjudged how hard life in the wild would be. the coat you wore did almost nothing to keep you warm, the water you brought only lasted for a few days, and the rations you thought would last had gone bad within the month. you were cold and hungry, and had only a pairing knife to ward off any threats in the forest. this would be a crucial mistake.
it was a particularly cold day and you were resting against a tree when you heard the crunch of leaves and the distinct mechanical whirring of an electrostaff. raiders. well, just one this time. it was a difficult feat, but you managed to ward off the raider not without sustaining many injuries. you had garnered a deep wound in your thigh and a large gash in your shoulder, luckily most of your vital organs were intact.
you hardly had time to catch your breath before a large mammal had sprung up from a ditch and pinned you to the ground. you screamed and struggled for your knife. your wounds had impaired your fighting skills, and you didn’t last long before the predator had beaten you into the floor. it was so, so cold. you must have lost your jacket at some point. you supposed the animal had lost interest, as it wandered off back into the trees, leaving you in a pool of your own blood.
the sun set behind the trees and you were still laying there, unable to move, slowly succumbing to the cold embrace of death. you could form only one coherent thought in your adrenaline crazed mind, and thus it became your last word.
“cal”
_______
the memory was like a knife to the heart for cal. he was helpless as he watched you draw your last breath, only to utter his name before closing your eyes for the final time. it finally dawned on him.
you were dead.
cal fell to his knees beside your tattered coat, a broken cry escaping his lips. it was all his fault. if’s and should’ves ran circles around his mind, but he understood the depth of this. you were gone, stolen from this world far to soon. cal mourned. he sobbed into his hands for hours on end, cursing you for leaving, cursing cere and greez for letting you leave, and cursing himself for letting his love for you blind him. of course he needed you. he always would. but he couldn’t have you any more.
his mind was blurry as he frantically followed the path he was on, searching for your body. he tripped and stumbled down a leaf covered hill, where he saw you. you were exactly as you were in the force echo, but your cheeks were hollow and your skin was sickly green. you had been dead for a long time. cal ran to your body, crying your name. he hoisted you into his arms and wept into your dirty hair.
“i love you” he muttered softly, hoping that perhaps you could hear the words he was to cowardly to speak when you were alive.

SO WHAT ARE JEDI HEALERS LIKE IN CANON? The subtitle of this project was literally, “Started making it.  Had a breakdown.  Bon appetite.” because Star Wars lore is a mess of about five distinctly separate continuities and hardly anything has been devoted to this particular niche of Jedi worldbuilding.  I spent a few hours hunting down sources, most of which were just one or two lines, at most a whole entire single paragraph! of information, and not much on how Force healing actually works. This is fair, primarily the Force is about the emotions the user puts into it, that’s the core, central theme of what the Force means to Star Wars worldbuilding, rather than nitpicking details about hard rules of how it works.  Further, the Force isn’t full of hard and fast rules on a bigger scale, it depends on the person, it depends on their mood, it depends on whether it’s a Tuesday or a Friday, because it’s about serving core themes, not about serving a system of magical rules. That said, here’s what we know of Jedi Healers specifically in canon, both as a group within the Jedi Order and as an ability of the Force.  This post will mix together Legends and Disney/Lucasfilm canon, as well as include RPG books that are not meant to be sources of canon, because the whole point of this is to give worldbuilders some tools to start with, should you want!  HAVE SOME FUN WITH IT, PICK OUT WHAT YOU LIKE, AND BUILD UP FROM THERE.  \o/ KNOWN JEDI HEALERS: - Rig Nema (Lucas canon, Disney/Lucasfilm canon) - Stass Allie (Disney/Lucasfilm canon, as a healer) - Barriss Offee (Legends canon as a healer, Disney/Lucasfilm canon as working with healers) - Mill Alibeth (Disney/Lucasfilm canon) - Nahdar Vebb (Fantasy Flight Games canon, as a healer) - Vokara Che (Legends continuity) JEDI HEALERS ROLE IN THE JEDI ORDER: Jedi healers seem to be fairly rare and they were regarded as fairly precious:

(Jedi vs Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force / Legends canon) Note:  In this instance “Old Republic” = prequels era, and while this snippet is Legends, Rhinnal has been mentioned in Disney/Lucasfilm canon in The Rising Storm.  In the FFG books, the Jedi established a chapter house on Rhinnal for many patients that was still in use and had been expanded during the prequels’ Jedi Order’s time.  So, the Jedi have Halls-of-healing-esque houses on other places beyond Coruscant. Jedi Healers were regarded as the most sensitive Jedi of all:
Tumblr media
(Wild Space / Legends Canon) JEDI HEALERS’ STRUCTURE: Rig Nema was a Consular Jedi, which was a Jedi that devoted themselves to the study of a science or diplomacy, where she was a dedicated doctor.  Jedi specializing in healing seem to often withdraw from any combat duties, as well as they fall under this specialized role within Jedi career paths.
Tumblr media
(The Visual Encyclopedia / Disney/Lucasfilm canon) In Legends, the Jedi Healers worked with the MedCorps Jedi, as well as the were in leadership roles in the Temple’s infirmary and on worlds like Rhinnal and H’ratth.
Tumblr media
(The Jedi Path / Legends canon) Note:  The Service Corps are tricky, because Legends established them just after The Phantom Menace came out, before even the second movie of the prequels had arrived, much less TCW or anything.  Which means much of the content that came later had a tendency to contradict itself, as well as they do not exist at all in Lucas’ canon, and they are only mentioned in deeply obscure reference guides in Disney/Lucasfilm canon (and no mention of aging out--which further cannot work the same way, as TCW and Dooku: Jedi Lost establish that 14 year olds are young for Padawans and that 17+ isn’t rare for Padawans), but have never appeared in any book or comic yet.  All of which means:  Feel free to use them!  Source material is a buffet that you get to pick and choose from!  But be aware that some things are fundamentally incompatible from one continuity to another, and the Service Corps is a big one of those. Within the Jedi Order, there was a sub-order of the Knights who practiced healing arts, called the Circle of Jedi Healers:
Tumblr media
(The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia / Legends canon)      “Seated on the Jedi High Council due to her invaluable role as a Jedi Consular, Master Stass Allie is gifted not only in diplomacy and Lightsaber combat, but also Force healing. As a member of the Circle of Jedi Healers and overseer of the Medical Corps, she continues to hone her healing abilities even while deployed as a general for the Galactic Republic in the Clone Wars.” (Complete list of Force Collection cards / Continuity status unknown, probably Legends as it started in 2013) Not all Jedi had to be dedicated healers to work with the medical clinic.  In Disney/Lucasfilm canon, Barriss Offee often spent time helping injured Jedi, because she found healing to give her solace.
Tumblr media
(Stories of Jedi and Sith / Disney/Lucasfilm canon) Though, in Legends, Barriss was more directly a healer, working under Stass Allie in the Circle of Jedi Healers, where she specialized in disease rather than surgery.
Tumblr media
(Star Wars Databank / Legends canon) Similarly, when Mill Alibeth finds her place within the Jedi Order, at Yoda’s suggestion that she use her abilities for specialized medical and spiritual assistance for war-wounded Jedi, she’s not necessarily Master Nema’s Padawan, it’s not so formalized as that, showing that there’s a lot of flexibility within the Jedi Order’s studies and paths.
Tumblr media
(Brotherhood / Disney/Lucasfilm canon) JEDI HEALERS’ ABILITIES: While Jedi healers focus on medical training, they also train Jedi in the main components of Jedi philosophy, like greater control and insight.  When Mill Alibeth begins training with Rig Nema, she gains greater mastery over herself and the insight she has into Anakin in their meditation together:
Tumblr media
(Brotherhood / Disney/Lucasfilm canon) In addition to Jedi healers being rare, it seems like it was taxing for them to directly use Force healing, because it drained them personally.  While much of Kylo’s ability to revive Rey seems to come from that they were a dyad (and this would not be possible with other types of Force Healing, so other Jedi could not do that particular thing), Rey does do some Force Healing, where she must calm herself and center herself to do it properly, and it takes energy from her to accelerate healing. It’s not much here, she doesn’t need to recover from it, but anything more significant and likely she would have.  So, Jedi healers have to be careful about how much they give of themselves when healing others.  This is also why Grogu collapses after healing Greef in The Mandalorian.
Tumblr media
(The Rise of Skywalker novelization / Disney/Lucasfilm canon) Another Jedi healing ability is the Healing Trance, which would accelerate their natural healing process.  While in this trance, because their heartbeat and breathing slow, they can appear to be dead to others, and they’re unaware of the world around them.  Depending on the climate, they can last anywhere from a week to a month within this trance, without outside hydration being given to them.
Tumblr media
(Jedi vs Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force / Legends canon) JEDI HEALERS WITH THE FORCE VS TECHNOLOGY: The Jedi Order of the prequels seems to balance between technology and the Force, that both have their place in healing.  In the episode “Voices”, Rig Nema relies on medical scans to show Yoda’s physiology, as well as a tank of dark liquid (either a bacta tank or a sensory deprivation tank, both would be useful for Jedi who need calm and no distractions to connect to the Force) to help him, but it’s balanced with his connection to the Force being plumbed, it’s not focused only on technological means.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
JEDI HEALERS HAVE TO WATCH OUT FOR: In addition to being extra sensitive, Jedi Healers would be spending time in places that were soaked in pain and suffering, just by the nature of injured people’s anguish.  Not only would they face the difficulty of dealing with a patient’s pain directly, Force-sensitive means being psychic, as in that pain literally soaks into the walls around them.
Tumblr media
(”The Jedi Who Knew Too Much” / Lucas canon / Disney/Lucasfilm canon) It’s intense enough in places that have a bad accident and those feelings linger, it’s a hundred times worse in places where people are always in pain or dying.  Jedi Healers aren’t just subjected to the person’s suffering that’s right in front of them, but the thousand patients before them that have left their emotional imprint on the walls, the floor, the ceiling, the pillows, the bed, the very air around them. HALLS OF HEALING/MEDICAL WINGS:
The Medical Center and Infirmary seem to be located about halfway up the left-hand side of the main ziggurat: "Medical center and infirmary, staffed by Jedi Medical Corps.” (Complete Locations | Disney/Lucasfilm canon)
“The Jedi Temple's Halls of Healing were beautiful. They had lofty ceilings and enormous windows that spilled golden light over the blue and green and rose-pink walls and floor. Imbued with the Force's most gentle aspects, with love and nurturing and peace, they were full of perfumed flowers and green growing things, with the music of running water and the vibrancy of life renewed. They were the perfect retreat for those who were broken in body and mind, a place where the ugliness of suffering was washed away.” (Wild Space | Legends canon)
It’s difficult to get a sense of the size of it in The Clone Wars, but it seems to be fairly big, given the diversity of what we see of it, there may be more hard scientific areas and more gentle healing areas, both:    - Obi-Wan’s transformation into Rako Hardeen is in an area with multiple cordoned off areas with doors that can be fogged over. (The Clone Wars | Lucas canon , Disney/Lucasfilm canon )
Tumblr media
Likely the same area in the episode “Voices”, it seems like it’s in an area of the Temple that’s a hallway away from windows facing the outside. (The Clone Wars | Lucas canon, Disney/Lucasfilm canon)
Tumblr media
Anakin and Mace share a recovery room, which has a different style from the other infirmary rooms, done in different colors and with softer lighting, indicating that they have gentler recovery rooms versus the active medical problem areas It has a window looking out over Coruscant, indicating that it’s near the edge of the ziggurat, likely an area for less critical patients and meant to promote healing. (The Clone Wars | Lucas canon, Disney/Lucasfilm canon)
Tumblr media
Yoda is put in the infirmary in an area that looks to be the same area, but also has a separate area for a bacta tank, which seems to be at least possibly similar to the same area Depa was in when she was submerged in bacta. When Anakin walks into the room (and later he and Yoda walk out), we see what looks like sky through a window in the background of the outside hallway, possibly indicating this was near the edge of the ziggurat as well.  (The Clone Wars | Lucas canon, Disney/Lucasfilm canon)(Kanan: The Last Padawan | Disney/Lucasfilm canon)

“Alright, that should be everything,” Sas said to herself as she inspected the neat stacks of disguises she had put together for Anakin’s most recent “just crazy enough to work” idea for the mission to Kadavo. She placed her hands on her hips, whether with satisfaction with her handiwork, or an attempt to keep from fussing with her back brace, she wouldn’t admit to either. She would however admit that she was proud of the effort she put into putting the disguises together. Scrounging around for oddly specific helmets on the black market, or going through the trouble of buying a dress, taking it apart and making something completely new, weren’t exactly the skills she was pulled into the Grand Army of the Republic for, but she found she did enjoy the change. At least it was better than sitting around the Jedi Temple training halls or the clone barracks and running through her monotonous physical therapy routine.
“As our resident shapeshifter, recon consultant, and biggest critic of armor functionality I’m putting you in charge of our disguises,” Anakin had said. Sas had rolled her eyes at the time, but now as she rubbed the soft but stretchy teal fabric of the captive disguise, she felt really pleased with herself. She really did try to keep it simple, almost all functional, the dress being the exception. Well, Sas made it as functional as she could, with as little fabric as she had.
Anakin, Obi-Wan and Rex would be getting to her ship soon to try on their Zygerrian slaver disguises. Heat creeped its way up the back of her neck at the thought. She didn’t want to dwell much on why.  These were just mission things that had to be taken care of, and this time the mission included her shifting into a Togruta woman and being barely dressed. No big deal.
Sas took one quick breath to shake off the pre-mission jitters, and went to change.
Okay so Sas actually did like the way the disguise fit her. She turned in the mirror, grinning as teal color complimented her green skin and dark hair. The fabric had some give at the top, so it was form fitting, though not tight. She had even managed to leave enough space that she could wear her back brace under it. With the gold necklace and the belt, all she would need to do is ask Anakin or maybe Boil if they could paint her brace the same gold color. She could make it look like the necklace, and the long spinal support was connected to the belt at her waist. She might need a second opinion on it, but truthfully the thought of heading back into the field after being out so long filled her with a nervous excitement.
At least that was what she told herself when she heard the ramp to her ship lower itself. It really shouldn’t have surprised Sas that Obi-Wan and Anakin were early, or that they came onto her ship without knocking, and yet she felt warmth inch its way up her neck again.
“You seem to know your way around here,” Anakin’s voice echoed down the metal halls.
“Only about as well as you know Senator Amidala’s apartment,” Obi-Wan replied. Sas could practically hear the smile in his voice.
“You two are early,” she called down the small corridor as she walked to the ramp, “For once.”
“If we were going to be late, it would have been Anakin’s fault,” Obi-Wan called back, punching in the code to close up the ramp again. “Lucky for us I know how to keep to a schedule.”
“How would it be my fault? We came from the same place.”
Obi-Wan just ignored the question, “Rex will be here soon. I believe he was having lunch with Pyrrha-” He stopped for a moment as Sas met them in the main storage hold.
Sas watched the two jedi for a moment, Anakin averting his eyes to Obi-Wan, and the latter taking a moment to fuss with his beard under his chin. She wasn’t a jedi; she couldn’t read their emotions, but she could tell Obi-Wan was trying to figure out something to say.  “That's fine,” she started, “Pyrrha knows the code, they can just drop in when they’re ready to. I’ve got your gear sets on the table. Let me just walk you  both through everything. It’s not going to be nearly as comfortable as the duraplast you wear with your robes, but it gives more coverage so that should be good.” Sas was acutely aware of how cold her legs felt as the teal fabric swished with each step. Neither Obi-Wan nor Anakin were the kind to keep their judgements to themselves, so their silence felt heavier and awkward as she continued to ramble on. “So I also needed your opinion on this,” Sas continued, as she gestured to her back brace. “It fits well enough under it, but I thought if we spray painted it gold or something it might look like part of the costume or something-”
“Sas, what are you talking about?” Obi-Wan said at last.
By now the trio was standing in her small mess chamber, Sas leaned against the table as she turned to Obi-Wan, his brows furrowed low over his blue eyes. To anyone else, he might have looked frustrated, but Sas had found over the years it was a face he really made when he was more concerned.
“I just thought it would be better to work my brace into the costume, Anakin or maybe Boil could help me paint it. It wouldn’t take long,” she said. “Figured that would be better than me going without it. I’d be fine to go without it-”
“Sas, you’re not going on this mission,” Obi-Wan interrupted again.
“What are you talking about Kenobi?” She challenged. “If I’m not going, what was the point of having me put all of this together? Having me put together the disguises?” She looked between the two jedi in confusion.
“So you could feel involved again-” Anakin quickly answered. “You have the best eye for things like this. I didn’t think you would take it to mean you were coming with us.”
“Regardless, Anakin, you could have done her the courtesy of telling her,” Obi-Wan said.
“Honestly, Sas, you’re still my first pick for this mission.”
“Anakin-”
“What? Sas has done plenty of undercover missions for us before. She’s perfect for this!”
“She was undercover as Padme, not being sent to a prison camp. What makes you think those two missions are comparable?”
Sas just crossed her arms and let them bicker back and forth. That was how these sort of things usually went. Truthfully, Sas thought she would have been medically cleared to return to the field by now. She wasn’t surprised though that Anakin hadn’t bothered to check or clear any of it with anyone. While she could say that her physical therapy had been going well, and she was infinitely stronger than she had been a few weeks ago, the implications of getting wounded or looking weak at prison camp, in the event she was rejected as a “gift,” didn’t give her much confidence in making it through the mission in one piece.
“Do I get a say in any of this?” She sighed. Both jedi stopped and looked at her. “Its fine, alright. I misunderstood. It’s fine. I don’t know who you got to fill in, I can see if I can make adjustments for Shaak Ti, I’m assuming you asked her-”
“Eh, Ahsoka is only a little shorter than you, she can make it work,” Anakin said with a shrug. “These my things?” he added as he picked up a stack of gear.
Sas blinked, once, then twice, then looked to Obi-Wan who seemingly turned to stone as he stared at Anakin before speaking again. “Anakin, am I to understand that in your eyes, the next best person to pretend to sell into slavery is Ahsoka, not just your padawan, but a child?”
“She’s a tough kid, and we’ll be there to keep an eye on her. She’ll pick up on the plan quickly. Ahsoka is used to our improvised plans. At least more than Shaak Ti or anyone else would be.”
Sas pressed her palms together, took a deep breath as she brought her hands up to her face before slowly letting out the breath and dropping them. She opened her mouth to call Anakin a few choice words, but stopped abruptly as Obi-Wan reached for his pile of gear with one arm, and with the other guided Sas away from the table by her waist.
Sas told herself her stuttering was because she was abruptly cut off as Obi-Wan led her away. It definitely was not a reaction to the way his war worn hand sent a shiver of warmth through her when his fingers brushed over the sensitive skin of her exposed waist. It wasn’t like he hadn’t touched her before, and yet she felt her heart fluttering with each step she took as he led her back to her cabin. There was no reason for her to feel so worked up. There was absolutely no reason for her heart to race as he adjusted his hand to the small of her back, just where her brace ended.
“My dear, I should apologize for the confusion,” Obi-Wan said as they stopped outside her door.
Sas furrowed her brows. Her mind was still ringing with him calling her ‘my dear’. She felt more warmth creep into her face, He had done it plenty of times before, but something about the way he said it coupled with his hand once again adjusting its position on her waist, left her brain buzzing.
His own blue eyes widened for a moment as he realized what he had done and abruptly pulled his hand away. “For the miscommunication,” he clarified as if he didn’t know he set every nerve ending across her skin ablaze.
“Oh that,” She said, giving a tired roll of her eyes. “It's just Anakin being stubborn. I should have known better than to try to squeeze my way onto the mission so soon.” Outwardly she gave a small teasing smile, “You know its probably for the best I sit this one out. You seemed so distracted when you walked in. I’d hate to mess up the mission because you couldn’t take your eyes off me.”
To her surprise she heard Obi-Wan chuckle to himself  as she walked into her room. She looked back at him only to see a small smile of his own tugging at his lips from under his beard. “Yes, well fortunately for me, if you were going you would have shifted into someone else. Someone not nearly as distracting as you claim to be now.”
“I’m not claiming anything. Your silence spoke volumes Pretty Boy,” Sas teased. “It's fine, I understand. I’m just too hot for this mission. I get it.”
Obi-Wan just shook his head, but she could still see the small curve to his lips. He looked down the corridor for a moment before letting her door close behind him as he stepped further into her room. “Sas, it's alright if you’re upset.”
“I’m not upset.”
He raised a brow in answer.
“Using the force to read my emotions is cheating,” Sas countered sitting on the edge of her bed. “I know I’m just too gorgeous for you to handle right now, but you could pretend to misread my body language like anyone else would.”
Obi-Wan let out a breath as he moved to sit next to her. “I know you’re deflecting by making jokes about how hot you are-.” “Its not a joke, I’m a legit snack.”
Sas hadn’t even realized she moved, until she felt Obi-Wan shift next to her and wrap his arm around her shoulders. Her throat closed up around half formed words as she tried to protest that she wasn’t upset. That she wasn’t disappointed, that she wasn’t worried about him.
“Sas, its okay. You don’t have anything to prove by going, or trying to hide that you’re upset.” She felt his chin rest on top of her head. “While I agree, you made a disguise that accentuates your beauty, I would prefer to have you well rested and in one piece. There will always be another mission-”
Closing her eyes and leaning into his hold, Sas let his words sink in for a moment. Of course she knew there would always be a next time. Even if she wasn’t serving on republic funded missions, there were always supply runs  that needed to be made for her home planet. Part of the problem was that there was always another mission and it had taken more than a few tolls on Obi-Wan and Sas. Physically and mentally they were drained, even if they tried not to show it.
“Maybe the next mission will be for us to take a vacation,” she whispered.
“That would be nice,” he hummed.
They sat in silence for a while, neither in much of a hurry to change their clothes. It was comfortable and Sas was in no rush to disrupt the small moment of peace.
Anakin however, was eager. “Rex and Pyrrha are picking up Ahsoka, they’ll be here soon,” he called from down the corridor again.
Obi-Wan stiffened next to her. “He just doesn’t want to ask anyone else.” With his free hand, Obi-Wan pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Okay but how many Jedi do you both actually know that would put themselves in that situation with you guys?” Sas asked as she slowly sat up.
“You’re not seriously defending him?”
“No, no I’m not.” Sas said quickly. “I just…understand only wanting to work with people who get your- uh preparation methods. That's why I was contracted through you and really only your unit for the GAR.”
Obi-Wan turned to her fully then. His blue eyes scanned her face, for what though Sas couldn’t say. She always understood those little extra moments of staring as Jedi things, that Obi-Wan just sometimes did. “Darling, you’ve just given me an idea. Take off the dress-”
“Excuse me there should be a please sprinkled in either before or after ‘take off the dress.’” Sas said.
Obi-Wan just blinked at her.
“I just mean, I’m not sure now is a good time for that- We can do that but i don’t think right this second is a good time-”
“Sas-”
“I get it, I look good in this disguise,” Sas was grinning at this point, as she thought she saw some red creeping around the edges of his ears.
“Sas, you know that's not what I meant.”
“No, I know, but it did get you to laugh.”
***
“How do I look?” Obi-Wan said at last. He held out his arms as Sas circled and inspected him in his new disguise.
“Honestly you look better than I did-” Sas said quickly as she adjusted the teal material stretched over his shoulder. She had added some fabric to the metal belt and necklace so that it would fit him. She hadn’t anticipated just exactly how the disguise would fit him. Truthfully she didn’t think the teal disguise would fit him at all. “There's a part of me that says I should be offended but,” she stood in front of him and reached out to adjust the top over his shoulder, “it makes your tits look better than mine.”
“Sas-”
“Fine, your pectorals, is that better?”
“Yes, thank you.”
“This is barely going to cover your nipple-” Sas thought out loud as she reached to adjust the fabric but then quickly pulled her hands away. Fixing it over his shoulder was one thing, something about this felt different. This wasn't a necessity like when they trained together, or occasionally had to put and check each other's bacta pads. She took a step back studying the way the fabric clung to him, accentuating his muscle definition that usually hid under his robes.
“So we’re leaving it out? I suppose that would add to the appeal,” Obi-Wan said looking down at himself and then to Sas with a small grin. “But you would be the best person to speak on that, right Darling?”
Sas had to look away for a moment. She needed air. She felt warmth flood her face as she tried to look back to him to attempt to counter his teasing. All it took was a glimpse of his little teasing grin and the mischievous glint in those pretty blue eyes to make her heart flutter wildly in her chest. She had to look away again. He was only saying that because she was in charge of the disguises. That was all. Any flirting or comments before, even now, were just both of them being silly. That was all. Her ears burned. She spotted the last of the matching jewelry on her dresser, and took her chance to escape.
“I would be, if I was the one you were supposed to be charming and distracting,” She said once she could clear her head of his grin. She gathered up the head piece and the few rings she had found to match the belt.
“I suppose this would be good practice for me then?”
“The day you need to practice being charming, is the day Tatooine floods.” Sas held up the jewelry. “Besides, you need the finishing touches.”
She offered him the rings and waited for him to slide them onto his fingers before holding up the head piece. She had expected him to just take it from her hands but instead he tilted his head down and leaned in toward her. Sas stopped breathing.
“Would you do the honors?”
Sas blinked. For half a second she thought he was going to kiss her cheek. He was close enough. She let out a breath and gave him a grin. He was just messing with her that was all. It wasn’t often that she got flustered and he was just taking advantage of that. Maybe even trying to get her mind off the disappointment of not going with them.
“Of course, Love,” she finally answered as she set the crown on his head. She did her best to set the small combs on the edge in his hair without making it look silly. Once it was securely in place she dropped her hands to her sides and looked up at him. “All done. Are you sure you want to do this? Rex, Pyrrha and Ahsoka could show up at any second.”
“Anakin only wanted people he knew well on this mission. Who better to take this role, but me?”
Sas just laughed. “Well if you change your mind, at least we know your other disguise fits too.”
“You did a wonderful job with both Sas,” Obi-Wan assured her as he clasped her shoulder.
“You want me to go ahead of you, make it more dramatic?” “If you would be so kind.”
“He’s going to be so mad.”
“Maybe he should have done what we agreed on then.”
Sas let out another laugh before composing herself and stepping back to the mess table. Anakin had apparently just decided to try to fit the armor over his robes, which worked, but anyone who knew Jedi robes would be able to see through the disguise. Sas felt less bad for him as she watched him slide the helmet over his head.
“What was the point in having me put together actual disguises if you were just going to put the armor on over your robes?” Sas asked as she plopped down on the bench and propped her head on her arms on the table. “It would have saved me a lot of time, you know.”
“Well its about time you’re back. What happened, the old man couldn’t dress himself?” Anakin said, turning to look down the hall waiting for his former master still.
“Well…something like that- You laced up the shoulder piece wrong by the way.”
“Can you fix it for me then?” Anakin asked, turning his back to the hallway again.
“I don’t know, last I heard only old men couldn’t dress themselves.”
“Sas, come on-”
“Fine, stop your fussing. Come here.” Sas shifted so she was kneeling on the couch and motioned for Anakin to stand in front of her facing the hallway again. “Just sit still, this will only take a second.”
“Then what’s taking Obi-Wan so long?”
“Well he’s wearing everything exactly the way I said to so-”
“Obi-Wan, what are you wearing?” Anakin exclaimed.
Obi-Wan stood at the edge of the room, standing a little taller and straighter, really attempting to test how well the fabric of the disguise would hold together. Now that Sas had a moment to catch her breath and clear her head, she took a moment to fully appreciate the lengths Obi-Wan went through to get back at Anakin. Revenge may not be the Jedi way, but Sas thought she was starting to understand why.
“Anakin stop moving-” Sas tried not to laugh as she yanked on the armor making him face Obi-Wan as he tried to look away from the Jedi Master.
“My disguise Anakin, I thought it was obvious,” Obi-Wan answered.
“Why are you wearing Ahsoka’s-”
“Oh no, Sas and I agreed this disguise was much too big for Ahsoka. We’ll just let her know she won’t be accompanying us on this mission.”
Anakin tried to lift one of his arms to shield his eyes, but Sas just pulled on another one of the ties in the shoulder armor to get him to lower his hand. “Fine I’ll send holo to Shaak Ti, I’m sure-”
“Are you kidding?” Sas started, “You think she has time to make it all the way from Kamino? You leave tomorrow and you can’t pick her up on the way.”
“After all Anakin,” Obi-Wan cut in, “You did say you would prefer to work with someone who was familiar with- how did you describe it- your preparation style?”
“Fine, I’ll find someone else!”
“Frankly Anakin there's no one in the Order who knows you better than I do. It only makes sense that I should take this role.”
“I think it's a bit late for that, Ani-'' Sas said, finally letting go of the armor straps and letting him step away.
“Come on, Obi-Wan take it off. You’re not posing as the slave,” Anakin said, though he still wouldn’t look directly at Obi-Wan.
“Oh no, I believe I fit your requirements better than Ahsoka could.”
“I’ll find someone else, it won’t take me long.”
“No, you said you wanted someone with more experience following your plans, and these are the consequences for not making a proper plan.”
Anakin pinched the bridge of his nose. “There's gotta be someone else-”
“Someone else for what-” Ahsoka’s voice trailed off as she stopped in the opposite entrance.
Sas kept her grin contained as Rex, Ahsoka, and Pyrrha stood in the main hall staring in shock at Obi-Wan. Even though they were all struck differently, it was nice to know she wasn’t the one. Rex and Ahsoka shared similar wide eyed expressions of complete shock, Anakin still wouldn’t look directly at his former Master, and Pyrrha, clutching her helmet, was trembling as she tried to contain her laughter.
“Oh nothing,” Obi-Wan answered the padawan as he crossed over to lean against the couch next to Sas. “Anakin was just thinking I should be replaced. He should know better than that though.”
“Besides, General Kenobi here would get a much better deal than anyone else  we would pretend to sell,” Sas chimed in, as she shifted to give him a high five, only to have him clasp her hand in his. Her heart stopped for just a second, but she kept her hand in his.
“It’s not going to make any sense- we need a Togruta to get into the camp,” Anakin complained.
“Well, you do like to improvise, so we’ll improvise,” Obi-Wan answered calmly.
Ahsoka’s brows knitted together as if she were finally starting to make the connection. “I’m definitely not going to wear that,” she muttered, eyeing Obi-Wan skeptically.
“No, you’re not,” Obi-Wan said firmly. “It was already settled. I will be sold off, Anakin and Rex will be the ones to do that. Pyrrha, you may need to take Sas’ place as the third guard since she’s not medically cleared for the mission.”
Pyrrha finally wheezed out the giggles she had been trying to contain. “Wait, I thought the plan was to have four keepers.”
“I mean I have extra gear but that's going to be up to Anakin and if he can stick to the plan this time,” Sas teased.
Anakin sighed, “Yeah sure let's have four, Pyrrha you can switch with Obi-Wan, or maybe Jankari will do it-”
Before Pyrrha could answer, Obi-Wan spoke up again, “No, you just said he had to have a Togruta to get in the prison camps. A human woman isn’t going to get us any closer. I’m your best chance.”
“Master Jedi, Republic High General, makes him a valuable catch, on top of you know the look he has going for him,” Sas added, earning an eye roll from her friend across the room.
“Unless of course you’d like to volunteer to be the captive,” Obi-Wan continued looking pointedly at Anakin. “I’m sure Sas could make some last minute modifications-”
Anakin threw his hands up, “NO.”
“Then it’s settled,” Obi-Wan said, his grin growing wide under his beard.
“Wait one more thing,” Pyrrha started. Rex just tensed up next to her. Clearly the captain just wanted to grab his gear and go. “We gotta get a receipt for Kenobi when we sell him. They might try to get a refund for him after having him around for a while.”
“Oh no, there's no exchanges or returns for this sale,” Obi-Wan said with a small head shake.
“ Is that why Sas hasn’t been able to get rid of you yet?” Pyrrha added with a snicker.
Sas looked up at Obi-Wan, who was looking back down at her, and their hands still clasped together. She couldn’t get rid of him even if she wanted to, is what she wanted to say and she even offered him a small smile. He could probably tell what she was thinking anyway, nothing she said out loud would really matter. So instead she turned back to the group, Anakin had already disappeared down another hall to remove his armor, and said, “Hey Ahsoka, you wanna take Pyrrha’s place as a guard?”
“Does it mean I have to deal with more of,” Ahsoka gestured to the general area between where Anakin walked off and where Obi-Wan was still standing, “this?”
“Probably.”
“I think I’d rather deal with the younglings all week.”

Today's request is for @isaspell who requested 'Childhood' and that somehow led to...
Cal’s clan is off to the aquarium for a field trip. He’s excited to see the fish, but mostly he’s excited for lunch, because Master Entola promised everyone could have a sweet treat and he’s already chosen a milkshake because those sound amazing. They’ve all packed into the air coach, and he’s taken a window seat, Aster at his side. She’s a little bit older than him, quiet and shy around those who don’t know her, but imaginative and cheerful with Cal.
And she’s got a great idea: they’re going to sneak off and swim with the rabbit sharks.
Cal’s all for it; he’s even packed a dry set of clothes so no one finds out, except Master Entola’s apprentice, Padawan Midi, keeps staring at them like he knows they’re up to something. Aster wants to try though because she’s older than Cal – twelve already – and she’s going to begin training as a healer soon, which means she’ll be leaving the clan and they won’t have a chance to travel into the city together.
It's a long trip to the aquarium. At first, Cal looks out the window, marvelling at how big and busy Coruscant is. So many people flying around doing all kinds of things in all kinds of buildings. After ten minutes though, it all starts to get a bit repetitive. So many skyscrapers, so many vehicles, and so many tunnels into the undercity where they’ve been told they’re never, ever, to go, even though Cal found an echo on Padawan Midi’s teacup that showed he had been to the undercity with many of his friends. It all starts to blur, and even though Aster’s making plans and dishing out orders, Cal falls asleep. By the time he wakes up, the bus has docked and it’s time to go. Aster grabs his hand, chatting excitedly about her plan. Cal hushes her. Padawan Midi stares at them again, especially at Cal. Maybe he can read minds already; some Jedi are really good at that. Cal isn’t. Aster always knows what other people are feeling, which is why she’s going to be such a good healer. If Cal ever needs a healer again, he hopes Aster can be the one to help him.
The children are split into smaller groups. Cal wants to go with Master Entola, but he’s placed with Padawan Midi. At least he’s got Aster with him, and Yumi and Caster. They’ll cover for them when he and Aster make a break for it. They’re Jedi, so there’s no way they’ll fail in their mission.
As they walk through the aquarium, looking at different sea creatures from across the galaxy, bubbly, ambient music plays. The lighting is dim and tinted blue, shimmering to make it seem like they’re under the sea, and there are lots of other people around. There are other children too, probably on trips from the local Coruscant schools. Most of them stare open-mouthed as Cal and his friends go by. Cal remembers to block out other people’s thoughts and feelings, although he does catch a few stray emotions. One grown-up is amazed because they didn’t think Jedi children were allowed out of the Temple. Another swells with jealousy, wishing he too could use the Force and solve all his problems. Cal can’t imagine life without the Force, so he just feels sorry for him.
Eventually, they reach the massive tank where the rabbit-sharks of Pia VI live. Cal’s never seen such a huge tank, and it’s designed to look like the depths of an ocean, complete with a sunken ship for all the fish to swim through. There’s plenty of seating available so everyone can sit while they stare. Padawan Miri reminds them they’re all here to learn about the different life forms to be found in the galaxy and suggests everyone start filling out their worksheets on their datapads. Cal pulls his out of his backpack and pretends to write, but really he’s looking for the doorway Aster says will take them to the top of the tank so they can jump in.
“You are very distracted today, Cal.”
Padawan Miri’s voice makes Cal leap out of his skin. “S-sorry,” he says. Blushing, he looks down at his datapad. “I’ll do my work now.”
“Good boy,” says Padawan Miri, and he moves on to see what Caster’s doing, probably because she’s drawing a lot, pointy tongue sticking out of her mouth. Caster’s the best artist in their clan even though she’s the youngest. It’s how the Force expresses itself through her, and how she deals with the strange dreams she sometimes has. Cal knows, because he picked up one of her drawings once (flames and smoke, coming from a tower) and he felt her fear.
With Padawan Miri distracted, and the rabbit-shark chamber filling up with people, including lots of other children, Cal knows this is their chance. Aster nudges him, grinning, and she slides her datapad away. Cal does the same, heart pounding in his chest. He’s so excited – they’re really going to swim with a rabbit-shark! They make a careful break for it, slipping through the crowd. Aster’s in the lead, like always, and she’s found the door Cal was looking for. It’s on the left side of the tank, and there’s a big sign on it stating STAFF ONLY.
Well, if it’s STAFF ONLY, maybe they should’ve locked it, because Miri nudges the button with the Force and it slides back immediately. They dash through and follow the staircase that leads up, up, up, up. There’s no one here. Cal can hear the water lapping on the side of the tank, smell its overpowering salty scent. It’s kinda gross, actually. He puts his datapad away and then leaves his backpack off to one side. He peers down into the water, but all the fish are way down deep. He can swim, but not all the way down there.
“Help me find some food!” Aster says. “That way, we can bring them all to us.”
Nodding, Cal looks around and sees a huge bucket marked ‘CHUM’. He grabs the handle, ready to tell Aster he –
She can’t believe he proposed. Proposed! And here, in her favourite place in the whole galaxy! Now, if she can convince her boss to let them have the actual ceremony here…
Cal blinks back to the present, glowing with someone else’s happiness. Aster just laughs at him, grabs the bucket, and starts throwing the chum into the water.
It doesn’t take long for the fish, including one of the rabbit sharks, to suddenly break the surface. Aster squeals with delight, reaching out to pet as many of them as she can. She giggles. “They’re so slippery!”
Following her lead, Cal reaches for the rabbit shark. His hand lands between its big ears, the skin beneath his fingers bouncy and slippery. Cal gives scritches to as many of the fish as he can, laughing at them all. There are a lot of them, so many the water’s all churned up. He’s not entirely sure how they’ll even get in the water when there’s so many –
“Cal! Aster!”
It’s not Padawan Miri shouting at them. It’s Master Entola.
“Come here at once!”
Aster and Cal share a look. Busted. Still, Cal thinks as he stands back, grabs his backpack and turns to face Master Entola, it was definitely worth it…
…although he’s not so sure he still feels that way when he and Aster are assigned extra chores and meditation on why they mustn’t run off, and he’s definitely not happy about missing out on ‘saber practice for one whole week…
But not many people can say they got to pat a rabbit-shark…

Tumblr media
"Mhi solus tome,
Mhi solus dar’tome.
Mhi me’dinui an,
Mhi ba’juri verde."
Intense concentration furrows my brow as I massage my temples, striving to translate the unfamiliar words. "For fuck's sake," I mutter, frustration punctuating each syllable as I kick a nearby pebble with surprising strength, eliciting a muffled groan and the metallic clang of beskar as it ricochets off a distant helmet.
Two weeks may not seem long, especially when operating undercover among a terrorist faction whilst the galaxy is engulfed in war. It would probably be advisable to keep a cool head and avoid making a big deal out of insignificant subjects—such as unfamiliar phrases. However, when those words escape the lips of your longtime crush, delivered with an unexpected fervor while locking passionate eyes with you in a language foreign to your ears...
Well, needless to say, I've devoted more time to overthinking it than I care to admit.
When General Skywalker tasked us with shadowing Death Watch until the Jedi Council reached more intel, I hadn't given it much thought... admittedly, he hadn't specified that by "us" he didn't mean Ahsoka and me, as usual, but rather the captain of the 501st and myself—the very someone I've harboured feelings for since the day we met.
Nevertheless, I maintained my composure, played my part, and stayed under the radar, much like Rex, until Death Watch proposed an elaborate ceremony—a ceremony whose name I could barely pronounce, let alone understand its significance. Before any suspicion could arise, Rex quickly agreed in my place, and now here I am, entangled in some eerie ritual with a military captain whose gaze seemed entranced, so intense was his focus.
"If I had my datapad right now...," I hiss under my breath, casting blame on whoever decided I should leave my sole translation device behind. Likely Skywalker.
The crunch of gravel under heavy boots interrupts my daydreaming. I spin around sharply, only to find the very man haunting my mind approaching. "I figured I'd find you here," Rex hums as he settles beside me. "Yeah," I reply with a dry laugh, brushing the dust off my hands. "Sorry, I suppose I just needed... alone time. After everything yesterday, you know?" Rex's eyes widen almost comically, and he sheepishly scratches the back of his neck. "Oh... yeah."
The ensuing silence gnaws at my nerves, prompting me to pop the question after another agonising five minutes. "Hey, about that... what did those words mean, anyway?" "I'm not sure what you're referring to," Rex responds, avoiding my gaze. I gulp. He can't have forgotten, can he? "Come on, Rex... It seemed significant." After a moment's hesitation, Rex sighs, running a hand over his buzzcut before raising his head to face me, though still evading it. "I..." "Yes?" "Alright, fine. [Name], don't panic, but... we might have accidentally... gotten married."
...
"WHAT?"
"Shh!" Rex quiets me with a gentle hand over my mouth, his eyes darting cautiously around us before he releases me. I shake my head slowly, puzzled. "Sorry, but what?" "The, um, the words... they were Mandalorian wedding vows," he admits, his tone tinged with uncertainty. I can't help but laugh. Married? Us? "You're joking." "Unfortunately not," he replies, a slight smile tugging at his lips, before his expression shifts to sheepishness as he rubs the back of his neck. "Though I do believe you'd make an excellent partner." Suppressing a chuckle, I ignore the warmth creeping into my cheeks.
"Actually, I realized we needed a distraction when I overheard some members gossiping behind our backs. They were growing suspicious, so I thought perhaps they'd relax if we participated in some traditions." Rex sighs, examining a pebble he's picked up. I shoot him a hopeful sidelong glance before quickly looking away, feeling my heart quicken.
Force, this man is captivating.
Silence envelops us once more as we both drift deeper into our own thoughts. When I sense the gravel shifting under his weight, I raise an eyebrow. "It wouldn't bother me, you know?" A lump forms in my throat, causing a series of coughs to escape at his words. "Wh-what?" "Being with you." Suddenly, his warm yet weighty hand finds mine. Sweat prickles at my heated skin as I keep my gaze fixed ahead.
"R-rex, are you suggesting...?" "[Name]," he interrupts, turning to face me. Before I can evade his gaze, he gently lifts my chin, compelling me to meet his eyes. I run my tongue over my dry lips, which his gaze is now fixated on. "I want you. And I know you want me, too." His proximity sends shivers down my spine as goosebumps ripple over my arms and back. His newfound confidence is palpable. "I've noticed the way you look at me, how you stare. I know, [name]," he murmurs against my lips, "what do you think?"
I flush, gripping his wrist as I lock eyes with his warm gaze. "I think you're right." Rex chuckles deeply, resonating like a rumble in his chest. "Good." And before I realize it, his lips meet mine,
Time seems to slip away as I surrender completely to the kiss. Eventually, Rex pulls back, leaving me breathless, and flashes me a mischievous grin.
“So, about that wedding night…”

Eldritch Clone Troopers Again
I’m gonna revisit the Clones-Become-Something-Other idea but this time it’s not because of the Jedi.
The galaxy is, to put it bluntly, really fucking big. There’s a lot of weird not-understood-by-any-or-many stuff in it. And sure, the Force is all-encompassing and omnipresent, but that doesn’t mean everyone understands it the same. That doesn’t mean it’s the same everywhere.
Imagine if, by the end of the war, there’s at least 5 different kinds of Other/Eldritch SOMETHING going on with the troopers because they just keep running into the batshit weird stuff.
What doesn’t kill you changes you and all that.
And the changes spread somehow. Spread like a song, from veteran to shiny, from battalion to battalion. The shinies change to match their brothers, brothers who do not find something to change them find themselves matching their brothers. Like a disease some say, because they’re scared and they don’t know what’s happening and change can be terrifying and it’s up to their brothers to say it’s alright, we’ve got you, metamorphosis isn’t easy but it will pass. The changes spread like a song and when they hit other battalions that have their own song they don’t go further there, because they’ve already got their favorite tune and it’s not about to change, so they compare songs and cheer or tease about each other’s lyrics and melodies, and maybe trade tips, but they don’t trade songs.
No one knows who changes first.
Maybe it’s the Wolfpack, and oh they will never hear the end of the jokes, jokes that must be either run with or hated, because a hurricane brought on land forced them to shelter in an abandoned temple for long enough to be noticed. Those people were shapeshifters once, skin changers and berserkers, and their deities (deities are not representations of the Force but they’re the next best thing, beings made of the Force without being the Force made Flesh, and thus not bound to mortality, though they are not everlasting) remember and miss the days when they had worshipers who took the forms of animals and sang in chorus.
Each member of the Wolfpack can take the shape of a canine. Give it some time, and it seems like every canine in the galaxy is represented somewhere by a clone trooper. There’s bleedover between their two skins now, eyes that are not a human’s but not their creature’s either and thus don’t fit into either face, teeth too sharp and too many for a human and paws with just enough fingers to grasp. These troopers have a taste for raw meat now, for the hunt, and sometimes they laugh and chase their brothers around Coruscant and sometimes they hunt droids and generals, and sometimes they bring down creatures three times their size and feast. They howl and bark and cry together, a sound that shouldn’t harmonize but somehow does, and together they sing.
The 501st and the 212th will never agree who’s fault this was or who gets the credit, depending on who’s talking. It surprises no one that they change together, it would have been more of a shock if they’d each become something separately. They can’t agree on what it was that changed them either. They agree only on the planet. Maybe it was something in the water, which was drinkable but ran golden in every light, maybe it was the ruins, whose stones made their jedi wobble without knowing why, maybe it was the planet itself. The planet that was awake, and watching, and listening. The planet that felt the beat of the troopers’ feet when they danced and tasted the blood they shed and who knows the logic of a planet?
They’re growing now, these troopers. Growing thorns in place of nails and flowers in place of eyes, and their blood flows thick like sap. There’s green on their lips now, chlorophyll that tolerates the rations but practically purrs in the sunlight, and whenever there’s the slightest chance the troopers strip down as much as they dare and soak in the sunlight, relish in the heat and light on their green-tinted skin and the ferns that curl along their scalps, the petals growing around their wrists and the algea growing between their toes that relishes the cool of water. They love to dance in the sunlight and their footsteps sign their names where they step, leaving new leaves and budding flowers in their wake.
The 327th plays host for one month to a flock of something that isn’t a phoenix or a firebird, but those are the only words they can think to apply. No one knows how they got on the ship. But their general says they’re peaceful and friendly besides, and radiating light in the force like a star (and aren’t they made of fire in the same way, they are not candleflame or forest fire or lava but starfire) and they make the cold of space warm, so the men grow to relax around them and are sad to see them go. They don’t take all of their warmth with them.
Spill their blood and it’s scalding hot, searing rock and metal and burning holes through fabric, raising blisters on the skin of anyone who doesn’t match their boiling heat. They could shower in icy water and fill the room with steam, indeed water sizzles when it lands. One trooper, with too much time and the right material, finds out that yes he can fry an egg on his hand and that’s a funny story but it’s also the least of what they can do, because these men can dance in a forest ablaze and fear neither heat nor smoke, can walk over lava and stare into suns, the suns that their eyes resemble because they’ve turned into stars. These troopers burn and shine and to compare them to distinct lights is much less of a metaphor than it was before.
Coruscant latches her teeth into the Coruscant Guard and there’s nothing they can do about it. That planet is a different kind of war than their brothers are facing but they’ve got casualty lists nonetheless and it takes no less persistence and skill and luck to survive it. There’s darkness in the city, pushing at the light of the Temple, and there’s light in the Guard but it’s the darkness that seeps into their blood, pulsing through them with each beat of their heart and each inhale.
It’s hard to look at the Guard now. They’ve become creatures of blood and shadow, muscle and bone, and death is just a word now because they know their bodies like no one else and they can simply knit themselves back together. The shades in place of their skin cover but do not hide the flesh beneath, the roll of organs, and where their eyes should be are pits or flickering streetlights or something moving that can only be glimpsed. Their minds seep along each other like oil on water, touching without merging, and it doesn’t make them safe it doesn’t fix the problem, but it keeps them from ever being alone, keeps any more of them from dying at the hands of those they protect, and that’s no small thing. The Guard tends not to speak much, but they tap constantly, tap and drum their words and tunes and the constant pulse of their shared heartbeat, their shared blood.
The SCUBA troops are the ones that bring the ocean into play. They catch the notice of an old god-goddess-divinity in a deep ocean, someone that isn’t really awake but instead the divine equivalent of half-asleep and half-dreaming and, much like a human just awake enough to not properly be asleep, makes a vague change to their dream without thinking about it.
These troopers don’t walk so much as flow; somehow they always look like they’re moving through water. Gills carve through their skin and salt water feels like coming home but fresh water is almost as good and aside from their gills only a few of them become like fish, only a few find their fingers webbed or learn they can grow tentacles at will, but all of them can swim through any water like they were made for it, can see through it clear as day, can laugh and dance on a ship in a thunderstorm without fear. And oh their dreams, they find their brothers in their dreams, bring them out of the choppy dark of nightmares and into the soothing calm of sweet dreams, they dream of things that are long gone and things that might be and things that could have been but never were, things that are known and things that cannot be understood.
Slowly, they grow to see the changes in their other brothers, their family, and it’s always a shock but it’s a good kind, oh you’ve changed to tell me how, how do you find it, it’s like unexpectedly meeting an old friend you haven’t seen in years but in minutes you’re sharing everything that’s happened since you met. And these changes, they don’t make the troopers force users but they give them a bit of awareness, enough to see who’s changed, to see the fingerprints of the force in the galaxy.
Some of them return to Coruscant and the Guard’s constant armor is as almost as much to keep them in the “proper” shape as it is to protect them and they above all know how to hide, so it takes sometime to see those fingerprints of change on them but they do and oh you’ve changed too what on earth did you run into to make that happen you’re supposed to be safe from the craziness here and one of the Guards laughs. It sounds like choking and cracking bones and hysteria.
Palpatine dies within a week. The war ends soon after.
When the clones rejoice, there are those who can change their skin and those with flowers for eyes, those burning with plasma and those who bleed uninjured and those who could walk the depths, all side by side and celebrating together as family does. Some of them are singing songs with harmonies that can’t be matched, some are dancing in a way that leaves clover behind them, some are shining in effusive joy, some are drumming out their pulse in accompaniment to the singing, and some are dreaming this for the little brothers awaiting them on Kamino. See your brothers in joy, see what you can become, we’ll be there to get you soon.

Once a Mother, Always a Mother
Anakin Skywalker x Reader
Obi-Wan Kenobi x Reader (Platonic)
Leia and Luke Skywalker (Mother!Reader)
Request: Instead of a Jedi, can she have Scarlet Witch’s powers? She was a friend of Padmé and Anakin fell for her when they first met. They still get together, (y/n) used her powers when she saved some young Jedi from Anakin’s genocide? In the end, she still gives birth to Leia, and Luke then got separated. She faked her and their children’s death so that they would be safe. She’s like Wanda from M.o.M with Obi-wan at her side, she wanted to bring her daughter back to a safe place. When Leia first met (y/n) she could immediately see the resemblance but kept it a secret since she could sense that she shouldn’t know about it. They still were able to save Leia and Luke, (y/n) nearly killed Reva when she thought she harmed Luke.
Request sent by: @oyasumimosura - I hope this is what you wanted!! I made some minor changes but I hope you enjoy it :)
A/N: I actually started crying at the end so grab some tissues.
Warnings: Angst and a little bit of gore (if you squint)
Word Count: > 10k (don't ask)
Tumblr media
“Y/n,” Padme cheered, “I’m so glad you could make it.”
The Senator walked over and gave you a quick hug. You hugged back lightly and smiled softly. You and Padme have been good friends for a while. With your unique powers, you’ve always been an outcast. Padme saw this and took you under her wing. She’s always been your best friend and even, a big sister.
“Hey, you called, said you needed help, I’m here.”
She laughed softly and guided you to the sitting area. You arrived here on Coruscant on the count of someone trying to kill Senator Amidala. She was granted protection with Jedis but she wanted you too.
“The Jedi will be here soon,” Padme explained, “I’ll be talking with Captain Typho.”
Padme walked towards the balcony, overviewing the beautiful city of Coruscant. You, on the other hand, took a seat on one of the nearest couches. You watched as the Gungan, Jar Jar Binks, walked out of the room, towards the elevator.
“Obi? Obi! Mesa so smilen to seein yousa!” You heard Jar Jar yell.
You stood, knowing that the Jedi personnel had arrived. You brushed off the robes you were wearing. You wanted to look professional, even if you weren’t at the Jedi level experience. Sure, you’ve been training at the Temple. But, you had different powers than everyone else. You could use a lightsaber and the Force, but you rather would use your…powers.
“Good to see you again, Jar Jar.”
“Senator Padme! Y/n,” Jar Jar walked in with his two Jedi friends, “Mesa palos here! Lookie, lookie, Senator. Desa Jedi arriven.”
Padme turned around, smiling at the now older Jedi. She hasn’t seen them since the droid's attack on Naboo. She was grateful they had accepted to come back to her aid again, even if she didn’t need protection.
You followed her pursuit, standing next to the Senator.
“It’s a great pleasure to see you again, milady,” the bearded Jedi bowed.
“It has been far too long, Master Kenobi,” Padme shook his head.
Padme looked over the Master’s shoulders to be faced with a surprise.
“Ani? My goodness, you’ve grown.”
You looked to where your dearest friend was looking. It had felt as if your breath was sucked out of your body. That…Ani….he was handsome. He seemed too starstruck over Padme to notice you.
“So have you. Grown more beautiful. I mean. Well, f-for a senator, I mean.”
Padme nodded her head and smiled, “Ani, you’ll always be that little boy I knew on Tatooine.”
Ouch, you thought. You knew that would hurt.
Padme turned to look at you, “This is my good friend, Y/n L/n. She has been training at the Temple. She is a wonderful knight.”
The two Jedi turned their attention towards you. You nodded your head at Kenobi and held out your hand.
“Obi-Wan Kenobi. I’ve never heard of you,” the Master added, “who was your Master?”
“I’ve been tossed back and forth,” you explained, shaking his hand.
You held out your hand for the Ani, who was staring at you in awe.
“I’m A-Anakin Skywalker, Master Kenobi’s padawan. As I, have never heard of you and I apologize.”
The Chosen One. You’ve heard stories about the Chosen One and how they would bring balance to the two Forces. You’ve never expected it to be this young, handsome, Padawan.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you,” you smirked, “Anakin.”
You two shared eye contact for a moment and you both knew that this is where the fun would begin.
………………………………………………………………………………………
"And you're sure you'll be safe?" You were worried about Padme going back to Naboo. Sure, Anakin and Captain Typho's crew will be there with her. But, after the bounty hunter almost killed her with estranged worms, you never knew what could happen.
"Yes, Y/n, everything will be alright. I'll be safe while you are with the Jedis. Must I say," Padme looked behind you, "Anakin seems very fond of you."
You turned around to see the Padawan, staring right at you. You gave him a small wave and smiled. He realized he was staring at you and looked at his Master.
"Fond of me? You broke that poor boy's heart when you greeted him and said that 'he'll always be the same boy you met on Tatooine," you laughed.
Padme shared a laugh as well, "Why don't you come with us?"
You pondered on the suggestion. If you went, you could become a closer acquaintance with Anakin. Master Kenobi would be alone, though. You felt bad, for leaving him alone, but you knew he could handle himself.
"What about Master Kenobi?"
"I've already talked to him about it. He said it was okay with him and that you would be the one to keep his Padawan aligned."
You nodded and allowed her to step on the transport. You walked towards Anakin and told him the slight changes. You helped him with Padme's luggage, grabbing onto a small suitcase.
"Knight Y/n, I-"
"Please, just call me Y/n," you looked up at Anakin, smiling.
"Of course, Y/n, but I want to know your story."
You titled your head in confusion, "What about my story?"
You two began walking towards the Senator, who was waiting in the transport.
"Why is it that you've been trained at the Temple, but I've never seen you? When did you come to be a Jedi Knight?"
You shrugged, "It's more complicated than that and it's a very long story."
"Well," Anakin held out his hand for you while getting on the transport, "we have all the time. I'd love to hear it. I-I mean, only if you want to. That's your business and I don't want to-"
"Anakin!" You laughed, interfering with his rambling, "I'd love to share it with you. We have a couple of days to get to know each other."
"Yes," he lowered his head in embarrassment, "of course."
He couldn't help his rambling. His mouth always moved first, while his mind was trailing behind.
"Hey," you noticed his embarrassment, "it's okay. I ramble sometimes too. It's like my mouth-"
"Moves first, right? Then, your brain is a second behind."
You turned your head and faced him, "Yeah, exactly."
The two of you shared a moment of comfort, but then remembered about the Senator. You began walking towards her again, while she smiled sweetly at the two of you. She could tell there would be something between the two of you and she couldn't help but be supportive of you.
..........................................................................................................................
"Goodnight," you brushed your hair off your shoulder, "Padme. I'll be down the hall if anything seems to be a problem."
She nodded, "Don't have too much fun."
You scoffed and shook your head. Leaving the Senator's room, you walked down the Villa's hallway. It was a very beautiful building with delicate architecture. It was accompanied by a lakeside. You walked outside to the terrace. It overviewed the lake. Resting your elbows on the stone railing, you gazed at the stars.
"May I join you?"
Anakin's voice filled the void and you wave your arm towards you, "Of course."
Anakin slowly walked towards you. You quickly glanced over at him. He was in his robes, with no shirt on, and his long brown locks were sticking to his forehead.
"Are you okay?" You asked.
"Hm?" He hummed sleepily, "Oh, yeah. Just bad nightmares."
You nodded your head, understanding what it felt like.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
Anakin looked down at you and then back to the view of the lake, "I'd rather not."
You looked back at the stars. You wish you could look at every single one, but you know there are so many more out there. The stars were like stories. Each one had a different story to tell. You loved to gaze upon them. "They're beautiful," you said out loud, in awe.
"Yeah," Anakin agreed, "they are."
What you didn't realize was that Anakin wasn't gazing at the stars. His half-lidded stare was directed towards you. He loved seeing your eyes fill up in awe and your excitement when a star twinkled.
You looked down at your hands and picked at your fingernails, "My connection with the Force, it's one that I can't explain."
"How so?"
You sighed and lifted your palm. A dark red filled your hand. You've never shown anyone this, except for Padme and your Master. You threaded the mystical red around your fingers. You rested your hand back down and looked at Anakin. He was shocked. But, he was awed as well.
"When I was receiving my lightsaber, I needed to connect to a Kyber crystal. I did, and well," you paused, "it turned red. Something that only happens with a Dark Force user. I had and have no intentions of the Dark Side. Alas, the crystal didn't connect to my saber. It connected fully to me. My Master, well, he was shocked. He had never seen anything like it."
"Who's your Master?" Anakin had so many questions but decided to start small.
"Yoda. He kept me a secret, afraid of what the council would think."
You bowed your head in shame, "I've always been shameful of it. I've always been different from the rest. I don't have a lightsaber. I don't have the Force connection as everyone else does. Padme and Master Yoda have been the only people not to be afraid of my powers."
Anakin allowed his thumb to grip your chin, making you look up at him.
"Well, you can add another person to that list. I think...it's really beautiful, Y/n. You shouldn't be ashamed. That's one of the coolest things I have ever kriffing seen!"
You laughed, tearing up. Anakin took notice of this and wrapped his arms around you.
"Did I say something?"
"No," you fell right into his arms, "you said everything perfectly right. I've just never had someone so accepting in my life."
Anakin rested his chin on your head, feeling as if you were the one comforting him from his nightmares.
You fell right into his warmth, feeling a comfort you've never had before. You stayed, wrapped in his arms until he let go.
"You better head to bed," Anakin kept his hands on your shoulders, "I'll be up, watching the Senator."
You raised your hand to rest upon his cheek, "May I try something? It won't hurt. It's for the nightmares."
Anakin hesitated at first but slowly nodded. He leaned into your touch. You lifted your other hand, floating it next to his temple. With the wave of your hand, you slowly let your power connect with his mind. You closed your eyes and saw all the nightmares. Ones about his mom. Ones about the Dark Side. Ones about failing his Master.
Opening your eyes back up, you saw the look of relaxation on Anakin's face. He slowly connected his eyes with your eyes. You let your hand fall on his chest. He let out a shaky breath while leaning forward. You follow his pursuit, leaning in. You met halfway, eyes closed, letting his soft lips connect with yours.
The kiss felt like a missing puzzle piece that's been hiding under a table. The relief to have found the piece flooded your body. You've never felt so alive before.
You slowly let go of the kiss, your eyes still closed. Anakin was smiling. He felt the same way. He felt your power seep throughout his mind, finding all the dark. You filled his mind with light. Something he has been needing for so long.
.......................................................................................................................
Covering your face with a piece of cloth, you blocked off the blowing sand. Anakin's nightmares have been getting worse. The ones you tried to ease just kept coming back. Anakin cried in your arms. The nightmares felt real, and he couldn't rest.
Padme had allowed the two of you to go to Anakin's home planet, Tatooine, to see if his mother was alright. Your heart ached for Anakin.
You walked towards the small dwelling, to be greeted by a droid.
"Oh, uh! Hello! How might I be of service? I am C-"
"3PO?" Anakin finished the droid's sentence.
"Oh, the maker! Oh, Master Ani! I knew you would return. I knew it!" C-3PO looked your way, "I don't believe we have met!"
"I am Y/n L/n. I'm a Jedi Knight, and I-
"She's my partner," Anakin squinted his eyes at 3PO.
"It's lovely to meet your partner, Y/n. Bless my circuits! I'm so pleased to see you again, Anakin."
"I've come to see my mother," Anakin explained.
"Oh. Um, I think perhaps we'd better go indoors," C-3PO guided you to the front door. He walked down the stairs and greeted, "Master Owen, might I present two most important visitors."
"I'm Anakin Skywalker."
The man introduced, "Owen Lars. Uh, this is my girlfriend, Beru."
"Hello," Beru nodded.
"I'm Y/n L/n. Anakin's partner," you smiled at the title. It was much better, and preferred, than Jedi Knight.
"I guess I'm your stepbrother. I had a feeling you might show up someday."
Anakin backed up and looked around, "Is my mother here?"
"No, she's not," a new voice sounded and a man in a wheelchair appeared, "Cliegg Lars. Shmi is my wife."
Anakin shook his hand.
"We should go inside. We have a lot to talk about."
You, Beru, Owen, and Anakin followed Cliegg into a small dining room. Beru fetched a pitcher of tea, while the rest of you sat down.
"It was just before dawn. They came out of nowhere. A hunting party of Tusken Raiders. Your mother had gone out early, like she always did, to pick mushrooms that grow on the vaporators. From the tracks, she was about halfway home when they took her, " Cliegg sighed.
You watched as Anakin looked down. You rested your hand on his knee, getting no reaction from him.
"Those Tuskens walk like men, but they're vicious, mindless monsters. Thirty of us went out after her. Four of us come back. I'd be out there with them, but after I lost my leg, I just couldn't ride anymore un-until I heal."
Anakin nodded, while still looking down. You knew he was trying to be strong, but you also knew that he was a human too. He was trying to hide his emotions. All you wanted to do was say, "It's okay," but you didn't even know that it was going to be.
"I don't want to give up on her, but she's been gone a month. There's little hope she's lasted this long."
Anakin stood abruptly, swallowing his tears.
"Where are you going?" Owen asked.
"To find my mother," the Padawan answered coldly.
"Your mother's dead, son. Accept it," Cliegg argued.
Anakin walked out of the room, needing to catch some air. He knew his mother was still alive. She had to be. If she wasn't, why was he still getting nightmares?
You followed him, thanking the Lars family, and walked outside. He was wrapped in his dark cloak, staring at the two suns. He felt your presence and turned around. You stopped in front of him.
"You're gonna have to stay here. These are good people, Y/n. You'll be safe," he suggested.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, letting him fall into your comfort, "Anakin."
He wrapped his long arms around your torso. His cloak fell around you and breathed in his comforting scent.
"I'm coming with you, I can help."
Anakin backed out of the hug and sighed, "I don't want you getting hurt."
"I can take care of myself."
His shoulders fell in defeat and lead you to his speeder. You sat on the back, wrapping your arms around the young Skywalker. He started the speeder up and you were off to find Shmi Skywalker.
.......................................................................................................................
Anakin wanted you to stay back to keep watch. So you could warn him. You kept watching the tent he had entered. Suddenly, you felt your heart shatter. Oh no, you thought. You felt Anakin's heartbreak from across the land. But, then you felt anger. Revenge. Pain. Suffering. Death.
You watched as Anakin killed the two Tuskens, while the others surrounded him. You saw a look in his eyes that terrified you. It was an anger that you have never seen in somebody before. You used your powers to float down, helping Anakin to stop.
"Anakin!" You shouted, allowing some Raiders to pay attention to you.
You quickly sent them all into a daze with your power, letting them be stuck in their own mind. You ran towards Anakin, who was breathing heavily. He had just slain the last standing Raider. The thing that scared you was that he had no remorse.
"Anakin," you breathed, resting your hand upon your shoulder.
His head snapped towards you. His eyes were dark with rage. They softened when he saw you and your warm eyes. He diminished his lightsaber and looked around. His mouth dropped in shock.
"I-I don't, I killed them, my mom-"
You waved your hand, letting your powers calm him down before he had a panic attack. He broke, letting the tears he has been holding back for a while fall. He fell into your arms, clutching onto you for dear life. You didn't say anything. You let him sob and sob. He knew he had to protect you. He couldn't lose you. You were the only love he had left.
...........................................................................................................................
It had been revealed that Viceroy Gunray was the one behind the assassination attempts on the Senator and that Count Dooku was the one leading this all.
The Battle of Genosis was still going on. You and Anakin had arrived but got captured, trying to save Master Kenobi. You fought with a blaster, knowing you could do so much more. Your Master arrived, saving the Jedi from the arena. The three of you were on a jet, racing out of the arena.
The clones had joined the Jedi in the battle, making it impossible for the Separatists to fight back.
"Look over there," Obi-Wan pointed out. There were three escape speeders trying to, well, escape.
"It's Dooku, shoot him down!" Anakin commanded.
"We're out of rocket fuel," the pilot informed.
"Follow him!"
"We're gonna need some help!" You shouted over the winds and blaster shots.
"There isn't time! Anakin and I can handle this!" Obi-Wan answered.
"No," Anakin argued, "she comes with me. She can help us, she's a talented Jedi knight. She can-"
All of a sudden, the transport you were on got shot, throwing you off the transport. You felt on a sand hill, rolling down. You groaned in pain, stopping yourself from rolling.
"Y/N!" You heard Anakin yell.
You watched as he got farther and farther until he was out of your sight. You rested on your elbows. Kriffing great, you thought. You were stuck in the middle of the desert. You couldn't help but think that Anakin was getting hurt right now. You surpassed the pain in your back and used your powers, making sure no one saw you, traveling the way Anakin's transport went.
.........................................................................................................................
You arrived at the transport only to see Obi-Wan on the floor while Anakin dueled with Count Dooku. You hid behind a pillar while Anakin fought.
You watched as they battled in the dark. You started getting worried for Anakin, as he broke his lightsaber, using his Master's. You looked for any possible option of a weapon, but you couldn't find one.
You felt a burn in your arm, confused that you didn't get shot at. You looked at Anakin, to his right arm severed from his body. He passed out from the sudden pain. You felt the rage take over. The anger. You allowed yourself to be seen by Obi-Wan.
"Y/n! Get out of here!"
Count Dooku turned around to face you.
"Who dares to challenge me?"
"Me," you raised off the ground, your power surrounding you, flowing through your veins, "you snarking son of a bitch."
You used all your might to rip off rocks from the wall, machinery, anything to throw at Dooku. Dooku was caught by surprise, allowing him to fall back in pain. He quickly got off, throwing his electric powers at you. You used your powers to deflect it back to him, resting your feet on the ground. Your eyes glowed a bright red as you began throwing the power at him. He tried throwing the same things you threw, only to be stopped with your other hand.
He quickly swung his red lightsaber at you, hitting you in the arm. You groaned in pain, looking down at your arm. You looked back slowly at Count Dooku. He was astounded. He had never seen anything like you before.
"Who is your Master?" He asked, very curious.
You didn't answer as anger filled your veins. Using your power, you lifted him into the air. He screamed in pain as your power slowly started to rip him apart.
"Y/n! No!"
Your head turned to the sound of your Master's voice. You quickly looked back at Dooku, letting him fall to the ground harshly.
Count Dooku groaned in pain as you stood there, breathing heavily. Your eyes still shining their bright red. You hadn't calmed down from your high yet. You haven't used your powers that heavily before. Blinking, you calmed down, but only a little amount. You couldn't catch your breath and you fell to the ground. Your body was exhausted and you fell into a deep sleep.
..........................................................................................................................
Waking up, your vision was blurred. You checked your surroundings and saw that you were in the medbay at the Temple. You breathed in deeply and groaned. You were in pain. Your back felt like an Eeopie had stepped on it, and your head was pounding. You felt something holding your hand. Looking down, you saw a sleeping Anakin. You looked at his right arm to see a robotic hand there. If he had already been fixed, how long have you been out for?
"Anakin," your voice was hoarse and your throat was dry.
Anakin woke up quickly, looking at you. He knew what you wanted without you even asking him. He grabbed you a small plastic cup of water and you drank it with no hesitation.
"Oh my stars," Anakin brushed your hair with his hand, "I was so scared you weren't going to wake up."
"How long have I been out for?" You asked, scared to hear the answer.
"A couple of weeks."
You sighed in defeat. It wasn't a perfect amount of time, but it wasn't the worst.
"How's your arm?"
Anakin chuckled, showing it to you, "I'm getting used to it. It feels really weird."
You smiled, glad to see him laughing.
"Did Count Dooku escape?"
"Yeah, Master Yoda fought him when you passed out."
You gasped, "Oh stars above. Master Yoda, he-"
"He was concerned for you. He didn't like seeing you use your powers like that, for sure, but he was more concerned for your well-being. He talked with Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan knows to keep it a secret. The only thing is is that-"
"Dooku knows," you finished your sentence for him.
He saw the worry flash through your eyes.
"Don't worry," he kissed your knuckles, "no one is going to hurt you under my watch. I'll protect you, just like you did for me."
"You saw me? At the transport?"
"I was up for the last of it. I saw your eyes."
"Are you scared?" You looked anywhere but his face.
"Of course not," Anakin gushed, "your powers don't make you, you. It's your personality. I fell for you before I even knew about your powers."
Anakin realized what he said and started blushing, "Ah-I mean-"
"Y/n!"
Padme's voice alerted you to look at the door.
"Padme!"
She came running through the door, careful to give you a light hug. Anakin stood up and backed up, allowing Padme to have her talk with you.
"I'm so glad you're okay!"
"Yeah, me too," you joked, smiling at the Senator, "I'm sorry we couldn't capture Count Dooku. I tried my best."
"Y/n, they told me what happened. You overworked yourself to save Master Kenobi and Anakin. I'm just glad to see you okay."
You and her talked for a little longer but she retired so she could talk with Chancellor.
"Have you gotten any sleep?" You asked Anakin, noticing the bags under his eyes. He took his spot back, sitting next to you.
"The first time was before you woke up."
"Ani!"
"I wanted to make sure you were okay."
You smiled at his stubbornness.
"Does Master Obi-Wan and Master Yoda know about us?" You asked quietly.
"No," Anakin stated, "but I'm pretty sure my Master has his suspicions."
You looked out the window to be faced with the beautiful Coruscant.
"Speaking of us," you turned your head towards Anakin, who seemed nervous, "I was wondering something."
"What's wrong?" You grabbed his hand and held it in yours.
"I want to protect you. I want to do you right. I want to be able to wake up with you beside me. No matter the consequences with the Council. Maker, I would leave the Order for you. When I first met you, I knew that you were going to be my partner. The one person I could trust and find comfort in. With that being said," his tired eyes looked into your teary-eyed eyes, "would you do me the honor of becoming Y/n Skywalker?"
You gasped in excitement and cheered, "Yes! Of course!"
You leaned up, the best you could, and hugged your newly-to-be husband. The tears were flowing from the both of you and you couldn't be happier to spend the rest of your life with Anakin, the boy who changed your life.
...........................................................................................................................
The ceremony you held was small. The marriage officiant, Padme, and the two of you. You and Anakin had decided to tell Padme since the wedding was held on the terrace of the Villa you had stayed in many moons ago. The terrace where you and Anakin had your first kiss at. You were flooded with emotions on your wedding day and you couldn't be more relieved to spend it with your one true love, Anakin.
...........................................................................................................................
It's been three years since you and Anakin had gotten married. The two of you stayed together during the Clone Wars. He was so happy when the war finally calmed down and he could return home to you. The two of you have kept your relationship a secret, it was only Padme who knew. You continued your study at the Temple, under your Master Yoda. You learned how to do more talents with your power and you learned how to control them.
Anakin had just returned home from rescuing the kidnapped Chancellor. You waited behind a pillar as you watched him and Obi-Wan discuss. You could have sworn you saw Obi-Wan's eyes flicker towards you but you decided to ignore it. Anakin began walking with Bail Organa until he saw you.
He excused himself and ran to you, picking you up and spinning you.
"Oh, Ani," you sighed, "I'm so happy to see you're okay."
"I've missed you, Y/n," Anakin smiled.
"There were rumors that you were killed and I-"
"I'm all right," he rested a hand on the back of your neck, "It feels like we've been apart for a lifetime. And it might have been, if the chancellor hadn't been kidnapped, I don't think they would have ever brought us back from the outer rim sieges."
He bowed his head to kiss you and you happily answered by kissing him back.
"I'm tired of all this deception. I don't care if they know we're married."
"Me too, Anakin," you hugged him again, "me too."
You started shaking in fear and excitement. How were you going to tell him?
"Are you alright? You're shaking," Anakin pulled out of the hug and looked down at you.
"Anakin," you looked down, "I'm pregnant."
Anakin breathed out in excitement, "Wow, that's-that's wonderful."
You smiled slightly, "What are we going to do?"
"We're not going to worry about anything right now. All right? This is a happy moment. The happiest moment of my life."
The two of you shared a kiss and hugged. Your life had finally felt complete, knowing that Anakin was excited to start a family. You were head over heels for him and would do anything for him and the baby.
........................................................................................................................
You were walking peacefully down the hallway. You were looking for Anakin to see if he had returned. Turning your head, you heard blaster shots going off. You walked briskly through the hall and met with a sight that you couldn't watch. You saw the clones killing the Jedi. Covering your mouth, you ran as fast as you could towards your room. The smell of charred flesh and your pregnant stomach were not mixing well together. You slowly passed a youngling learning room and walked in. The younglings were laying on the floor, with no movement.
You started crying at the sight. You saw that they were slashed with lightsaber burns. What monster could have done this?
You heard shuffling to your left and you looked to see a clone about to shoot a small girl youngling.
Using your powers, you pushed the clone back. Throwing your power at him, he was knocked out. You ran over to check on the youngling. "Are you okay?" You asked, kneeling before her.
"Master Skywalker," the youngling explained to you what had happened. You couldn't believe what you were hearing. All this time, it was your husband that was doing this crime.
The youngling was scared, you could tell. Resting a hand on her small shoulder, you comforted him, "Be strong, young one. Trust in the Force. The escape pods are open, I can see them down the hall. Run there and go anywhere. Anywhere but here."
The youngling nodded, "What about you?"
"I'll be okay here. Don't worry about me. May the Force be with you," you nodded your head at the shaking youngling. You made sure she made it to the pod. She gave you a small wave and you smiled, with tears flowing down your eyes.
You hid until you heard nothing left. That's what scared you. You quietly made your way back to your room. You could have sworn you saw Anakin but didn't want to approach him. You closed the door when you heard footsteps approaching. You quickly pressed your back against the door and covered your mouth.
"There is no one here, Lord Vader," a clone spoke.
You listened closely, "Alright. Continuing checking, then we can leave."
You heard the footsteps quietly go farther. You let out a shaky breath and cried.
"Y/n."
You stopped. He knew you were in here.
"Please," his voice sounded like he wanted to burst out in tears, "let me in. I can feel you."
You didn't answer back. You slowly slid down on the floor and started crying again.
"You weren't meant to see th-" he cut himself off, not wanting to bring it up, "I love you. I did this for you. I can protect you with my new powers. We can live a happy life with our baby. If you can understand, please meet me on Mustafar. I'll be waiting."
You heard him walk away, as you sat there crying.
You couldn't help but think that this was your fault. Had you done something to make him turn to the Dark Side? Your thoughts went to Padme. You hadn't seen her in a while and you doubted she survived. You assumed she was dead and that made you cry even harder.
You were torn.
..........................................................................................................................
Resting in your corridor, you heard a knock at the door. Holding your, now, bigger belly, you walked to the door to be greeted by Obi-Wan.
"Master Obi-Wan. What can I do for you?"
Obi-Wan spoke quietly, "May I come in?"
You heard a hint of worry and unsettlement in his voice but decided not to question it.
"Of course," you moved to the side so he could walk in.
"When was the last time you saw Anakin?"
"Yesterday," you walked back towards the couch and sat down slowly. You weren't lying. The last time you did physically see him was before he left. Obi-Wan walked behind you and sat opposite you.
"And do you know where he is now?"
"No," you answered quickly. You did know. But, he trusted you. You couldn't help but feel guilty, for lying to Obi-Wan.
"Y/n, I need your help. He is in grave danger," Obi-Wan begged.
"From who?" You gasped, looking straight at Obi-Wan.
"From himself."
Obi-Wan couldn't maintain eye contact with you so something was up and you could sense it in the air. You knew exactly what he was going to say.
"Y/n," Obi-Wan took your hand and held it, "Anakin has turned to the Dark Side."
You sighed, grasping onto Obi-Wan's hand, "I know."
This was now or never. You were going to tell Obi-Wan the truth. About everything. You couldn't hold back anymore.
Obi-Wan's head turned in confusion as he moved to sit next to you. You told him everything. Your relationship, the marriage, the babies, the incident yesterday.
"And," you started crying, "I can't help but feel like this is all my fault. If I talked to him, maybe I could have stopped him. If he talked to me."
Obi-Wan looked away, trying to obtain this new information.
"He was deceived by a lie. We all were. It appears that the chancellor is behind everything, including the war," Obi-Wan looked back at you, "Palpatine is the Sith Lord we've been looking for. After the death of Count Dooku, Anakin became his new apprentice."
You blinked tears away and you turned your head away, "Are you upset for us lying to you?"
Obi-Wan grabbed your hand again and slightly smiled, "I've known for a long time, Y/n. I could sense there was someone with my Padawan. I knew it was you. He cared for you. I'm sorry you have to be going through this. I understand why the two of you lied."
"Thank you," you hugged Obi-Wan. He was the only person you could talk to right now.
"I need to know where he is," Obi-Wan whispered, looking at you.
You let go of the hug to look at Obi-Wan, "You're going to kill him, aren't you?"
"He has become a very dangerous threat."
You shook your head, "I can't."
Obi-Wan's stare lingered for a while but he stood up, walking towards the landing pad.
"Are you sure you don't know?"
You looked down at your glowing red hands. Tell him, your thoughts were yelling at you. You couldn't. But, the younglings he had slaughtered. You couldn't help but think about the negatives.
"I'm so sorry," Obi-Wan walked off to the Jet but you stopped him. "Obi-Wan!"
He turned around to see you running towards him.
Crying, you admitted, "He is at Mustafar. But, promise me you won't kill him."
Obi-Wan looked down at you and couldn't help but tear up. You were going to be all alone if Anakin was killed.
"I can't promise you anything. I dearly wish I could, Y/n. I promise you that if anything happens," Obi-Wan kissed your forehead to comfort you, "we will keep your baby safe."
You stood there as you watched Obi-Wan fly off.
"Please, come back to me," you whispered, hoping that Anakin could hear you.
..........................................................................................................................
The contraction pains that were rushing through your stomach were terrible. You were transported by Captain Typho to a safe medbay to give birth. You saw your Master and Bail Organa waiting at the medbay. They helped you get escorted to a private room so they could scan and see if the baby was ready to come out.
Laying down in the metal cot, you groaned in pain as you felt the baby pushing to be let out. You turned your head and saw a burnt-out Obi-Wan talking to a medical droid and the two men who were already here.
The only thought you had in your head was, where's Anakin?
"Miss Skywalker," the droid walked in, "you are ready to give birth. Obi-Wan has agreed to accompany you during the birth."
You made eye contact with Obi-Wan and saw the broken look in his eyes. He made his way next to you and held your frail hand.
"Where is he?" You asked, sternly.
"Y/n, he-"
You screamed out in pain as the baby was starting to come out. You grasped tightly onto Obi-Wan, who brushed the hair off your forehead.
You screamed and screamed until the baby came out. You were breathing heavily, tearing up as you saw the crying baby being held in the nurse's arms.
"It's a boy."
Obi-Wan held the small, crying child in his hands, looking at you sweetly.
"Oh, Luke," you brushed Luke's cheek with your finger and smiled.
Suddenly, you felt another baby start to come out. Crying out in pain, you grasped Obi-Wan's arm again. You were confused but excited that you were having twins.
"It's a girl."
You held the baby girl in your arms and smiled, "Leia."
The nurse gave them small blankets to cover up their small bodies.
You let Obi-Wan take the babies out of your arms, the tiredness getting to you.
"Where is he?" You breathed out.
Obi-Wan's blue eyes connected with your stressed ones and you knew exactly what had happened.
"I tried to help him. I failed him, Y/n. I'm sorry."
You silently turned your head to face the ceiling. Your whole body was numb with heartbreak. You knew that Anakin dying had a chance of happening. You just couldn't believe it actually did happen. Your lover, husband, soulmate. He was gone. You closed your eyes as the tears trickled down your cheeks. Obi-Wan let you rest, carrying the babies to rest in their cots.
Before Obi-Wan stepped out, you stopped him.
"I can't take care of the babies alone. With Anakin gone," you cried, "they need to be separated. Away from the Sith. I'll fake my death and go into hiding. We can fake their deaths as well. They can be safe without me."
Obi-Wan nodded, "That's a brave choice. I admire it. But, where shall they go?"
Bail Organa stepped into the conversation, "I'll take the girl. My wife and I always dreamed of adopting a baby girl. She can be safe with us on Alderaan."
You looked at Leia. Her peaceful sleeping. Looking at Luke, you smiled. You could already tell he would be just like his father.
"What about Luke?" You asked, turning your head towards Obi-Wan.
"I'll take him to his family in Tatooine and watch over him. Master Yoda and I already talked about it," he ran a hand over his face.
You hummed in agreement, too exhausted to answer. You let the sleepiness take over and you rested.
Soon, the nightmares that were once fixed, would return. But this time, much worse.
.......................................................................................................................
"I'm looking for a ship. I was tracking its signature," the much older Obi-Wan, who now goes by Ben, asked a bystander.
It has been a couple of years since the downfall of Order 66. You had joined Ben on Tatooine, feeling safer with another person around. The two of you had gotten much closer and he was like your brother.
The two of you had just arrived on Daiyu, trying to find Leia, your daughter. She was 10 years old now. Bail Organa had contacted Ben, informing him that Leia had been captured. As soon as you heard that, you knew you had one mission.
To find your daughter. No matter who or what you had to hurt.
"You're in Daiyu now. All signals in or out are blocked. People like their secrets out here," the bystander explained, walking off.
Ben shrugged at you, walking towards the city. You pulled the cloak hood over your head as you followed the ex-Jedi Master.
Ben was looking at a Clone Veteran while you traversed into your own world. You looked at the environment in Daiyu. It was a very bright, but chaotic planet. You could never imagine someone living here.
"Alright, clear the path," you heard. You didn't look behind your shoulder, knowing that it was Stormtroopers. Knowing they were here meant that some precious cargo was here. To them, Leia was only praise. Praise so they could get a promotion.
"You want some spice?" A young girl came up to you.
"I got Kessel pure, glitterstim, and Felucian. What do you need?"
Your eyes flashed red, "I need information. I'm looking for my daughter. She was taken, and she's on this planet."
The girl scoffed, "Well if she's here, you're never gonna see her again. Nobody leaves this place. I was someone's daughter once, too."
You glared at the girl, your hands shaking with rage. They were flooded with a powerful red while your eyes shared that red.
"Listen, I-"
"Please do excuse my sister," Ben pulled your hand into his, trying to calm you down, "she does miss her daughter."
"Here," the girl dropped a small canister in Ben's pocket," this one is free."
The girl looked at you, "Couple more of those and you'll forget she ever existed."
Breathing heavily, you titled your head in anger.
"Y/n," the accented voice went in one ear and through the other.
"We need to find her," you snarled, "now."
..................................................................................................................
"Hey," a lab worker followed you and Ben into the hallway. You stopped with Obi-Wan as the worker approached you.
"What are you doing back here?" The worker stood in front of you.
"Oh, it seems we have lost our-"
Ben wasn't able to finish his sentence, as you used your power, shooting at the one worker. He got pushed back into a wall, knocking him out cold. Using your power, you surrounded the other worker.
"Where's the girl?" You whispered, pulling the worker to be faced in front of you.
The worker didn't respond.
"We can do this the easy way," you started pulling the man apart, "or the hard way."
"I-It doesn't matter! I'm dead anyway!"
You laughed, as your eyes glowed a dark red, "Just remember, this was me being reasonable."
You wrapped a leg of red around the worker's neck, making him lose air.
"Y/n! Stop!"
You ignored Ben's pleas as you watched the man lose his breath slowly. The man made pleading eye contact with you and whispered where Leia was. You dropped the man on the floor.
"Th-thank you! I-"
The man's body dropped as you snapped his neck.
"Really?" Ben's judging voice startled you, as you forgot where you were.
"Don't act like you weren't about to knock him out."
"Knock him out," he whisper-yelled, "not kill him! For the sake of the stars, you must learn how to control your anger."
You rolled your eyes and you quietly walked towards the cell Leia was held at. Ben stood in front, checking his surroundings.
Ben opened the door to the cell. There was a small body covered in a sheet.
"Leia," you breathed, walking briskly. You uncovered her, to be faced with a dummy.
You gasped when a strong pair of arms slammed you against the metal wall.
A man walked in, facing Ben first. Two creatures held Ben while two held you.
"I didn't know that Jedi could bleed."
While the man did his villainous dialogue, you closed your eyes and focused on the minds next to you. Invading their head, you leaned in and whispered, "Sleep."
The one guard had done what you asked, slumping against the wall. The other guard looked confused. He didn't know what had just happened. He looked at you and he saw that you didn't do anything. Your astral body image floated behind him, warning him, "Run."
The man yelled in fear and darted out of the room. The three that were left faced their attention to you.
"Well, everybody bleeds," Ben smashed the canister he got earlier on the floor, grabbing you, and pushing you out of the room. He closed the door while the fumes closed in on the guards.
"What did you do to that guard?" Obi-Wan pulled his mask down.
"Just gave him a little scare," you smirked.
Ben nodded at you, not wanting to know what that meant.
"Stop," you held out your hand to a cell door, "she's in this one. I can feel her."
Ben stepped towards the door and opened it. You walked in first, not seeing Leia. Suddenly, a small girl ran at you, kicking you in the leg. She tried running away but Ben grabbed her.
"Let go of me!" She yelled.
"Wait!"
"Let go!"
Ben put her back down on the floor and backed up. Your eyes started tearing up. This was your daughter. Your Leia Skywalker.
"Who are you?" She defensively asked.
"Y-Your father sent us. We are here to help you," Obi-Wan had his attention on you, to see how you were holding up.
"Where's the army?"
You kneeled to her level and breathed, "I promise you, Leia, we will get you out of here. We will get you home. You have to trust m-us."
You shakily cried as her brown orbs looked at you. She was a spitting image of you.
Leia looked at you, noticing how she looked so much like you. She decided not to say anything, dealing with the mess of the problem already.
"Come," you held out your hand, "we are gonna get you out of here."
Her small hand grabbed onto yours and you almost broke down. Here you are with your daughter, ten years later, and she had no memory of you. You and Ben led her out of the room. Ben noticed your state and placed a hand on your shoulder. You smiled at him.
Only if you knew that Leia did have a small memory of you. The forehead kiss when you had just named her. Leia held onto it like it was going to slip away.
.........................................................................................................................
Anakin was alive. Leia hadn't figured it out yet, that you were her mother. Reva had been a youngling during Order 66. Tala had sacrificed herself. And now, here Ben was going to face Anakin alone.
"Are you serious?" You yelled at him, on a private part of the ship.
"I have to, Y/n. I need to see him for myself. I need to face him, alone."
"I need to see him too! He was my husband, Ben, he was my best friend."
"He doesn't know that you are alive. It's best to keep it that way. It will keep you safe. Leia safe. Even Luke safe."
Your eyes glowed red as you stepped into Ben's face, "Don't you dare bring up my children. It is not their fault."
Ben saw the hurt in your eyes and wrapped his arms around your shoulders.
"I need to see him, please, I need closure," you didn't mean for it to come out as a beg, but it did.
"Stay here with Leia. She needs you."
You sighed and let go of the hug, "Be safe, Ben. Please. I can't lose anyone anymore."
He smiled softly, "May the Force be with you, Y/n."
"May the Force be with you, Ben."
He walked off to the dropship and waved goodbye.
"Are you okay?" Leia walked behind you.
You wiped off the stained tears, "Yes, I'll be okay."
Leia sighed, knowing it was time to bring it up, "Are you my mother?"
You sighed in defeat, turning around. You faced her and saw that she had your old blaster holster wrapped around her. You knelt as she walked towards you.
"Where did you get this?" You picked up the holster in your hand, smiling at the memories.
"Ben gave it to me before he left to talk to you. He said it was my mother's and judging by your reaction," Leia placed her small hand on top of yours, "it was yours."
You chuckled, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry for leaving you when you were younger. I've regretted it for the past ten years. You weren't supposed to know."
"It's okay," Leia comforted, "I understand. You wanted to keep me safe."
"I can't make up for the ten years I have missed," you kissed her hand, "but I know I will get you back home."
"I've never felt like that was my home. It never has been. I don't want to be a princess. I want to be a fighter."
"Just like me," you teared up.
"Just like you," Leia smiled, "mom."
You gasped as she called you that. You've longed to have your children in your arms again and here was one of them, calling you mom. You pulled her into a warm embrace.
"Is Ben my dad?"
You laughed, "No. Ben is your...uncle. Ben was there for me when I lost your father. He would make a great father figure."
"Who is my dad?"
You let go of the hug, "That's another story for another time."
Leia looked into your eyes, "Go. Ben needs you."
You blinked, "Are you sure? I don't want to leave you after just getting you again."
"I know you'll come back for me."
You rested her forehead against your own.
"I love you, Leia," you closed your eyes, "don't ever forget that."
"I love you, too."
You kissed her hairline and raced to the escape pod the ship had. You tapped into Ben's presence and headed to him.
...........................................................................................................................
You heard the rumbling of rocks being thrown at something. No, someone. You ran and hid behind a pile of rocks. You peered to see Ben throwing rocks at him. Your Anakin. Darth Vader. You watched as Ben and Anakin battled. It ended with Ben slashing Anakin's mask open. You gasped as you saw him.
"Anakin is gone," his voice was distorted. You could hear a hint of Anakin, but all of Vader, "I am what remains."
You saw Ben start to tear up.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Anakin. For all of it."
"I am not your failure, Obi-Wan. You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker. I did," this was Anakin saying this. You heard his voice clearly and loudly. You fell onto your knees, clutching your stomach, sobbing quietly.
"The same way, I will destroy you!" Vader had returned, wanting his revenge.
Ben whispered, "Then my friend is truly dead."
"Goodbye," Ben turned around, "Darth."
Ben walked away but saw you. He ran towards you and whispered, "You can't be here."
"I-please. Let me see him. I can erase his memory of him ever seeing me. Please," you begged, sobbing.
Ben nodded, "I'll be waiting for you."
Ben walked off.
This was it. After all these years, you would be facing him. You knew it wasn't him but you couldn't care less. Calming yourself down, you snuck behind him.
"Obi-Wan!" He yelled, wheezing.
"Anakin," you softly cried.
His six-foot-tall body was hunched over but straightened as soon as you said his name. He turned around and titled his head.
"Y-Y/n?"
You walked towards him, crying as hard as you ever had. You slowly placed a hand on his masked cheek.
"It's me."
You knew it was the last hint of Anakin talking to you when he threw his lightsaber to the ground. He leaned into your touch and collapsed into your arms.
"I thought you were dead. They told me you were dead."
"I know. It was for the best."
He cried. Yeah, the Darth Vader was crying in your arms. But, it wasn't Darth. It was Anakin Skywalker. The scared boy from Tatooine who had fallen in love with you.
"My love," you whispered, "don't cry."
"I failed you. I left you," he looked up at you, "the baby?"
You couldn't resist yourself. He wasn't going to remember anyway.
"Babies. Twins. A boy and a girl. Luke and Leia."
Anakin smiled, "Are they safe?"
"They will be," you backed away from the hug, sobbing, "but, you can't remember this."
"W-What?"
"You can't know I'm alive. You can't know about our babies."
"No," he stood the best he could, gripping onto your arms, "we-we can pretend! Like we did many moons ago. We can sneak around. I won't be with the Dark Side. I'll be with you."
You laughed, while the tears slipped down your cheeks, "We can't, Anakin. It would ruin everything."
Anakin cried, lifting his hands on his mask. He took it off and revealed his look to you.
"I need you to see me," he lifted your hand to his cheek, "before we say goodbye."
You cried even harder at the sight of him, "I love you, Anakin Skywalker. I'll love you even when your Darth Vader. I'll be there for you, even when I'm not. Your bad times. I'll be there. I always will be."
Anakin kissed your forehead, "I love you, Y/n Skywalker. Even when I become him again, I'll remember our forbidden times. The times when I was able to love you. I'll love you always. I love you in every universe."
The two of you were sobbing as you shared the final kiss. Your lips connected and it was the most closure you have ever gotten. His rough lips, which had once been soft, had given you the sense of comfort they had all that time ago on Naboo.
"Close your eyes, please," you pleaded, "this won't hurt."
"I love you."
With those final words, you placed your hand next to his temple and let your power flood his brain. You replaced the memory of your meeting with the memory of him and Ben fighting. Letting go, you watched as his body slumped to the ground. You knelt down to his body and kissed his forehead. You grabbed his broken mask and placed it back on his head.
"Goodbye, my love."
........................................................................................................................
You and Ben had arrived on Tatooine. After everything that has happened, you wanted to see if Luke was okay. You arrived only to hear Beru and Owen calling out for Luke.
"No," you mumbled, the tears still falling from the conversation with Anakin.
"Where is he?" Ben asked, supporting you with his arm.
"He is gone."
"I'll look in the Dune Sea. We search until we find him," Ben grabbed your hand and led you to start walking.
"Ben! Y/n!" Beru called out.
You turned around to see the Inquisitor Reva, carrying Luke's body.
"No!" You shuddered, seeing your son's dead body.
You stood in front of Ben, Beru, and Owen. Your body filled with the emotions you have been feeling for the past years.
"You killed him!" You screamed, floating in the air. Your eyes had glowed a darker red than ever before.
"No, I-"
You lifted Reva, making her yell out in pain. You made sure your power made her body burn and boil. You choked her. And choked her. And choked her. You summoned her lightsaber in your hand and ignited it.
"This is for my-"
"Y/n!"
You snapped your fuming head to see Luke, waking up. You gasped and shot the both of you down. Reva was writhing in pain. Ben ran to check on her as you watched Luke crawl into Beru's arms.
"Luke," you whispered, walking towards him. Beru allowed you to hold his frail body. You whispered your gratitude and held him tightly. You have been watching him for the past ten years. You saw him pretending to pilot. Just like his father.
He still wasn't fully awake, so you decided to place peaceful dreams into his mind.
"Luke Skywalker," you brushed his hair to the side, "you will become one of the greatest pilots and Jedi the galaxy has ever seen. Just like your father. Your father and I are so proud of you. I will always be with you, even when you can't see me. May the Force be with you, Luke."
You kissed his forehead and gave him back to Beru, who smiled at you.
You looked towards Reva and Ben. Walking towards her, you kneeled in front of her.
"I'm sorry," you whispered, looking down shamefully.
"It's okay."
"It's not. I almost killed you, Reva."
"I understand your pain. You thought I killed him. It was okay."
You couldn't control your emotions anymore so you cried and leaned into Ben.
"I wanted to thank you," Reva coughed, "for all those years ago."
"What?" You whispered.
"I was the youngling you saved. During the Genocide. You gave me hope. I've never forgotten about you," Reva explained.
You leaned toward her and hugged her. One that both of you needed.
........................................................................................................................
"You okay?" Ben asked you, he rubbed your shoulder.
"Better than I'll ever be," you slightly smiled.
The transport jet's door opened. It revealed a surprised Leia. Her droid, Lola, floated behind the two of you.
"Lola!" She exclaimed, running towards her droid.
"Who are we to separate a young girl from her droid?" Ben joked.
The two of you walked towards Bail, who welcomed you in a hug.
"Obi-Wan. Y/n."
You accepted the hug and then hugged the Queen.
"We can never repay you two. Thank you," the Queen expressed her gratitude.
"Well," Ben turned around, "she has already done that."
"I fear for her future. The Empire grows stronger and bolder."
"Well, if you ever need our help again," you added, "you know where to find us."
"Let's hope that day never comes," Bail shook yours and Ben's hands.
Ben walked over to Leia to talk to her.
"Bail, I'm sorry but I-"
"We know. She told us," the Queen answered.
"I could erase her memory, if you would like," you suggested, looking at her laughing with Ben.
"Actually," the Queen stepped forward, "we would love it if you could stay with us."
Your eyes widened in shock, "W-What?"
"We can't separate her from her mother, who she wants to know so much about. You can protect her here."
You smiled the widest you have in a long time, "Thank you so much!"
You hugged both of them and ran towards the other two. You watched as they shared a hug.
"Goodbye, Princess. May the Force be with you," Ben finished.
He stood up and waited to the side for you. You faced him, holding Leia's hand.
"Ben, the Queen and the King allowed me to stay here and protect Leia. I hope that is alright."
You felt Leia's hand squeeze your hand in excitement, not knowing about this surprise.
Ben smiled and crossed his arms, "Of course, Y/n. You deserve to live in happiness with your daughter after everything you've been through."
You teared up and let go of Leia's hand, hugging Ben tightly. "Thank you, Obi-Wan Ben Kenobi. For everything you have done for me and Anakin. For my family. You have been the greatest brother I could have ever asked for," you whispered.
Ben started to tear up, as well, "And thank you, Y/n Skywalker. For being the greatest younger sister I could ever ask for. You deserve the world. You will always be, and have always been, a wonderful mother."
You allowed Ben to say his farewell and to board the jet.
"May the Force be with you, Obi-Wan."
"May the Force be with you, Y/n."
You watched as his jet flew away. You knew you were going to miss him. You've been with him for the past ten years.
"He'll always be here, in spirit," Leia grabbed your hand again.
You knelt to her height and clasped her face with your hand, "Leia, I want you to know about your father. He was a passionate, fearless, and forthright boy. You share those qualities with him. He was a wonderful man. A leader. He loved me until the day he died. He still loves me. Us. He is watching us from up there in the stars. I do wish I could tell you more," you looked at the sky.
"It's okay, Mom."
You stood up and clasped her hand. You walked towards the Queen and King, who welcomed you into their palace. You knew that this was your new home. You wished it was your new home with Anakin, Luke, and Leia. But, you couldn't complain. Ben was watching over Luke. You had Leia. You were once their mother, and you were always going to be their mother.
The End.

Character Masterlist:
Requested by: @nev20
Tumblr media
OMG I'M SO SORRY FOR THE LONG WAIT. I got held up with school and other personal matter 🤧
I turned your idea into an x reader story, I hope you don't mind!
Anyway, here is your request, and I hope you enjoy!
Word Count: 2,567 words. (it's kinda long)
Warning(s): Fluffy fluff, some angst, mentions of Order 66 and death, Leia running away, not proof read, lot’s of uncanon stuff (becuz its better that way)
Reader is GN, or at least I tried to keep it that way. Let me know if I missed anything.
Outline: After Anakin defeats Darth Sidious in a gruesome fight, he leaves the Jedi Order to settle down with you. Fourteen years later, you are both blessed with a daughter and son: Luke and Leia. However, because Anakin Skywalker was a famous Jedi, the descendants of him are worth a lot of money to bounty hunters, so you and Anakin live in constant worry of your beloved children being whisked away, far from your reach.
Our Intentions Were Good, I promise
Tumblr media
“Anakin!” You yelled with a hoarse voice over all the chaos that was going on in the Jedi Temple. You could sense his presence nearby, but with all the Clone Troopers storming around the temple killing Jedi in their wake, you could not help but feel worried for your lover.
You, Anakin and the rest of the Jedi Council discovered that the Sith Lord behind all the issues was none other than the Chancellor. It was a big shock to Anakin, and you knew he felt betrayed since he basically considered him as a father. But you had always had your suspicions, and the discovery only made sense to you.
You hear your name get called through the rubble and dust flying around the temple and you spin on your heels to see where the voice originated from. You let out a shaky breath when you noticed it was Anakin, and he was okay.
“Ani!” You whispered and ran over to him and tightly embraced him in a hug. He hugged you back and buried his head into the side of your neck and inhaled your scent.
“You’re okay, I was so worried for you,” Anakin said, biting back a sob.
“And you’re okay,” you giggled when he began to kiss you tenderly on your cheek.
“Of course I’m okay. I am the Chosen One afterall,” he said with a hint of pride in his voice. You rolled your eyes at his banter and gently kissed his cheek.
“Where’s the Sith Lord? Did you arrest him?”
Anakin hummed in acknowledgement before continuing to kiss your cheek passionately.
“Anakin–I’m trying to have a conversation with you,” you giggled in between kisses.
He sighed heavily and stepped back a bit to look you in your eyes.
“We managed to arrest him, however, Master Windu was. . .killed in the process. Which leaves Obi-Wan as the new Head of the Council.”
You gasped at the news and you felt your eyes burn. Master Windu was your own mentor when you were a Padawan, and basically the Father figure you never had. Even though he seemed very distant and cold-hearted, he would once in awhile have his moments that left great memories of the time when you were a Padawan under his authority.
“It’s alright, darling,” Anakin said, kissing your lips gently. “He’s in a better place now.”
You nodded your head slowly, and buried your face into the crook of his neck.
“Let’s go home, Ani.”
+++
Not long after Order 66, you and Anakin officially left the Jedi Order and got married. It was a small but beautiful ceremony; with only a few people invited. Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padme Amidala, and Anakin’s old Padawan, Ahsoka Tano.
About a year later, you brought two beautiful children into the world: Leia and Luke Skywalker. Leia looked a lot like you, but had Anakin’s strong will and personality. Meanwhile, your son looked like a spitting image of your husband, but he had more of your quiet and laid back personality.
Now, your twins were nearing the age of thirteen, and you couldn’t believe how fast your small babies were now young adults.
One problem, however, was the constant worry of your children being abducted from you due to them being related to Anakin. You both were aware that both Luke and Leia had a bounty on their head worth thousands of credits. Anakin and Obi-Wan had both tried to investigate who was behind the order of their capture, but they never succeeded. So, you found yourself being incredibly over-protective of your children.
You homeschooled your children because you were scared of them walking by themselves to and from the public school. You didn’t allow Leia to go out with just her friends even if she was accompanied by their parents, and you never allowed Luke to be outside by himself.
Were you taking all precautions a bit too far? Of course you were. You and
Anakin loved your children and were too attached to risk the chances of them being taken away from you.
+++
“Mom, dad, can we ask you something?”
You looked up from the holopad you were scrolling through and noticed Leia and Luke were both standing in front of you with anxious looks on their faces. You raised your brow and beckoned them to walk up closer to you.
“Yes you two?” Anakin said with a small look of concern on his face.
“Umm. . .” Luke started to say, but immediately lost his train of thought and snapped his mouth shut.
“You know how today marks the fourteenth year of peace throughout the whole galaxy, right?” Leia began.
You glanced at Anakin and noticed he was also confused as to where this conversation was going.
You nodded your head at your daughter to continue and she shakily inhaled.
“There is a parade and fair–”
“No” you and Anakin said at the same time sternly, knowing exactly where this was going.
“But why?” Leia pleaded, tears began to form in her crystal eyes.
Luke sighed heavily, and with heavy footsteps headed to the staircase to head to his room.
You pinched the bridge of your nose in annoyance.
“Leia, we have been over this many times. I would have thought you would know by now.” You said.
Leia’s face slowly morphed into one of pure grief and frustration.
“I HATE THIS! You and dad worrying about EVERYTHING!! This whole thing is so stupid!” And like that, she stormed out of the room and slammed her bedroom door when she reached it.
You shook your head and looked at your husband to see his reaction and noticed he was already looking at you.
“She is kind of right, you know?” You began. “Our children are basically secluded from the rest of the world, let alone other kids their age. It wouldn’t hurt to let them go out once, would it?”
Anakin hummed in thought.
“I’ll think about it. I think you might be right.”
“The parade doesn’t start until nightfall, so you just sit there and put your one brain-cell to work, darling.” You teased as you stood up from the couch you were previously relaxing on and began to head to the kitchen.
“At least I have a brain-cell, sweetheart.” Anakin bit back to which you turned around to smack him on the top of his head.
He chuckled and grabbed a hold of your wrist before pulling you down harshly onto his lap.
“You are such a bully, darling.” Anakin shook his head. You huffed at that.
“And you aren’t?”
“No, I am just your teasing husband.” He said, glancing at your lips before pulling you into a long and passionate kiss. You hummed and smiled into the kiss. You reached your hand behind his head, and moved your hands into his hair, before pulling hard on it, causing Anakin to jump and disconnect your lips.
“HEY! You’ll pay for that!” He warned with a slight smile on his face. You rolled your eyes before squirming out of his tight hold.
“Only if you can get me!” You giggled lightly before sprinting out of the room and running up to your joined bedroom.
+++
“Ugh, why is mom and dad so strict?” Leia complained as she dramatically plopped onto her brother's bed. Luke shrugged and continued to tinker with Lola, Leia’s small robotic companion.
“And you are so helpful Mr. I-don’t-dare-disobey-my-parents.” Leia said with venom  laced in her voice.
Luke sighed heavily and ignored the rest of Leia’s banter.
After a stream of censored cursing and complaining about how her life is so miserable, she decided that she was going to take matters into her own hands.
“I am going to sneak out of the house.” Leia said with some excitement in her voice.
Luke just about choked at his sisters ‘revelation”.
“Umm. . .no you aren’t” He said sternly.
Leia chuckled before sliding off his bed and began to walk over to her slightly older brother.
“You aren’t the boss of me Luke. What are you going to even do, cry and tell mommy and daddy? You’re no fun at all. In fact: you’re straight up boring. I don’t need your consent. I’m doing what I want.”
And with that, she stormed out of the room.
Luke sat at his desk quietly, thinking hard.
“She wouldn’t actually do it, will she?” He asked Lola, who was still off and had most of her parts laid out on the table.
He sighed heavily but decided his sister didn’t have the guts to carry out such a dangerous idea.
Or, so he thought.
+++
“Leia?! O.M.G girl, I thought your parents were gonna say no to you turning up!” Leia smiled when she recognised the face of her best friend, a Twi-Lek named Brigade, and her friend, Han Solo.
“Yeah, they did say no. But I came anyway.” Leia said matter-of-factly.
Brigade gasped and squealed with excitement.
“About time you take control of your life! That’s so badass of you!”
Han Solo chuckled at that and patted Leia’s head fondly.
“And if anything happens, don’t forget I’m here.” he winked.
Leia rolled her eyes at his playful banter and noticed that the streets of Coruscant was more packed than she expected.
“Wow, there’s a lot of people here.” She trailed off.
“Yup. But it’s normal for an event like this.” Brigade said casually.
+++
“Luke, what do you mean she left?” I panicked when I entered Leia’s room and found it empty with her window wide open.
“I-I am so sorry, mother.” Luke stuttered. “I didn’t think she’d actually do it and decided against telling you. I should’ve and I am so sorry.”
Anakin had his arms crossed and he was staring at the ceiling as if it was the most interesting thing in the room. You cleared your throat to gain his attention, to which he obliged.
“Ani? What are we going to do?”
“Well, we need to go find her, first of all. But this event is a planet-wide thing and I don’t even know where to start looking.”
Luke gulped and began to burst into tears.
“I am so sorry! It’s all my fault!”
You reached out to your son and hugged him tightly, kissing him on the top of his head.
“It’s all of our faults. We have been too strict with you children and this behaviour was bound to happen eventually. If anything, it’s our fault.” You said calmly, glancing at Anakin to see him nodding in agreement.
“Now, let’s go find your sister.”
+++
“Umm. . .are you sure this is safe, Brigade?” Leia asked, gulping heavily when Brigade split up from Han Solo and was leading Leia away from the rest of the crowd to an alley-way close by.
“Yup! Totally safe. As long as you're here with me.” Brigade said carelessly.
Leia nodded and tried to take her friend’s advice to heart, but through the force, she could sense something terrible was about to happen.
“Well, well, well. Look-y here! The Twi-Lek actually did it!” Leia heard a voice from behind her and she spun quickly on her heels and noticed there was two masked people in front of her. A man and a woman.
“What are they talking about?” Leia asked cautiously.
Brigade slowly faced Leia with an emotionless expression.
“You should’ve stayed home, Leia. Coming out here by yourself was foolish.”
“What do you mean? What are you on about, Brigade?”
“When I first found out how high the bounty was for you and your brother, I knew I had to get close to you. I’m sorry if it hurts, but my family needed the money.”
Leia felt hot tears fall down her cheek at the news. Her childhood friend had been using her this whole time?
“What the Kriff, Brigade. You traitor. I thought we were friends!” She sobbed.
Brigade continued to stand completely still without showing a pang of regret.
“So sad, but we have no time for theatrics! The big man wants the job to be done A-S-A-P. We have a ship to catch.” The woman said carelessly, as she dug into a satchel that was around her shoulders and pulled out a big sack of credits.
“A thousand credits, just as we promised you.” The man said.
Brigade caught the bag and opened it and looked over her newly-earned loot.
“Thank you, Leia. You just saved my father from a certain death.” Brigade said with a small smile on her face.
Leia felt strong arms grab her by the shoulders and she felt herself get yanked to the ground.
“I got you Leia!” She sat up and noticed Han had rushed into the alley and was now fighting for his life against the two masked people.
“Run! Get out of here!” He yelled at her. Leia quickly scrambled to her feet and rushed out of the alley, searching for the direction home.
But, once again, she felt someone grab onto her, making her let out a bloody sounding scream.
“Leia, it’s okay!”
Leia recognised the voice of her father and latched onto him tightly.
“Dad! I am so glad I found you! You and mom were right! Everything here is dangerous, please take me home!”
“Leia, what happened?” you asked with a calm voice bending over slightly to reach her eye level.
“Alley-way, and Brigade selling me or something and- O.M.G! Han is there all by himself! He needs help!” Leia exclaimed with complete terror and worry laced in her voice. She pointed at the direction she came from and her father nodded and began to rush that way.
When he was out of sight, Leia looked back up at you and could see that you were smiling and looked the complete opposite of how she expected.
“Why are you smiling? I thought you’d be so mad at me.”
“Oh, I am mad at you, Leia.” Your eye twitched in annoyance. “But I am so thankful that you are alright and nothing happened to you.”
Leia sniffled some more and buried her face into your warm body.
“I’m sorry, mum.” Leia cried.
“Shh. . .let’s talk about this when we get home.”
+++
“So, you actually were going to take me and Luke to the event?” Leia asked with complete disbelief in her eyes.
You nodded and looked over at your husband who still was nursing a bruise he had gotten from the fight on his left cheek.
“Yes, your father and I have decided that we can’t make you guys live in solitude for all of your childhood, so we agreed to take you out into the city some more. However, because of your behaviour, you should expect to not be going anywhere for a week.”
Leia nodded in understanding, but she couldn’t help but smile.
“You’ve actually decided that mum?” She asked.
You chuckled and raised your arms to invite your two children into a hug. They both giggled and practically jumped into your arms, making you fall back a bit.
“I love you mom!” They both said at the same time.
“Hey! How about me? I saved your friend and got your ‘attempt captors’ put into custody!” Anakin said with a fake frown on his face.
“Yeah, thank you father.” Leia said with a genuine smile plastered across her face. Anakin also smiled and joined the group hug.
The Skywalker family was happy and safe once again.
A/N: OMG!! This x reader was different from the ones ive previously written, i hope you enjoyed it! And thank you for requesting it! I enjoyed writing it so much

I feel like the whole ending of Din taking Grogu as his apprentice just has exactly no emotional impact for me because it's not the ending we were supposed to get and it sort-of starts to feel like a smack in the face.
The entire story was set up as getting Grogu back to his people, back to where he belonged and would be happiest. Grogu was never going to be a Mandalorian, even if he learned to love Din.
I've compared this show's initial concept to Ice Age before, but I'll do it again. It doesn't matter that the baby cared for the animals, he'd never BE an animal himself and is always going to be happiest when reunited with his father and his people. That connection the baby had to the three animals who worked so hard to save him and return him to his family is no less meaningful for how temporary it was always going to be.
In this case, it shouldn't have ever mattered whether Din and Grogu cared for each other because Grogu was always going to be happiest once he was reunited with the Jedi, with his true people who could communicate with him and help him learn to control his abilities and give him the tools needed to overcome the trauma of his past.
None of which means that connection that Din and Grogu had wasn't important or meaningful, particularly to Din himself, but just that it shouldn't have changed where Grogu ultimately would end up and the people he belonged to.
Grogu should've become a Jedi apprentice, he was always meant to be a Jedi apprentice, this was the choice he made decades ago when he was found and brought to the Jedi in the first place, it was the choice he made when he reached out to Luke at the Seeing Stone. Having him become a Mandalorian apprentice (since when have Mandalorians had APPRENTICES???) instead of a Jedi apprentice just seems like such a major fuck you to that prior storyline.
It also just feels like such a major fuck you to the Jedi themselves. That it's BETTER for Grogu to have specifically a parent and a house with a white picket fence rather than a group of Masters and a Temple. This entire season felt like it was trying to equate the Mandalorians to the Jedi, in how big of a threat they are to the Empire, and in how important they are to the narrative. But Star Wars just isn't about Mandalorians and it never will be. There's no way to re-insert Mandalorians into any of the three trilogies, so they are always going to remain irrelevant to the Skywalker Saga. And I feel like Favroni take this as a personal insult and just don't care for the Jedi as much and Grogu's fate feels like it reflects those feelings.
And so the only emotion I can feel at Grogu becoming Din's son and apprentice is bitterness. And a yearning for what we could've/should've had.

Rebels Rewatch: "A Fool's Hope"/"Family Reunion And Farewell"
*singing*
~I'm glad that you were here with me/Here at the end of all things.~
Live reaction version.
Yeah be prepared for a lot of Lord of the Rings quotes and song lyrics in this one, lol.
Hey, don't blame me, the writers were the ones who made it clear they were hopeless Tolkien nerds.
And yes I am packaging both (all three?) episodes together. This is how it was aired, this is how it was experienced, you're gonna get the full treatment.
This does mean though that I will be very stingy with the pictures. Apologies. Blame Tumblr, not me.
Anyway, we start off the finale by gathering all the disparate parties that we completed the Friendship Fetch Quests for. Rex, Kallus, Gregor, Wolffe, Hondo, Melch, and Ketsu are all Back For The Finale. Which is a trope that I absolutely love in all shapes and forms, and it's even more appropriate for this show given that Ezra's main character "superpower" is literally making friends.
The connections and bridges he built all come back to aide him, not for any selfish motives of their own or because "the enemy of my enemy", but simply because Ezra has asked them to come.
"It's for Ezra," is all Hera has to say, and Hondo is immediately, genuinely pledging, "For that boy, there is nothing I would not do."
It is... incredibly heartwarming.
And I told y'all Hondo was a romantic at heart, and genuinely misses the days when the Jedi were around. And also that in the Rebellion Era, the Jedi still represent the nobility and goodness of the past.
After the titlecard, which still has no fanfare, we get this scene:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Come, you all knew I was going to cap it. Sabine's concern is so soft, the hand she places on Ezra's shoulder and the way she asks if he's okay so gentle.
The visual similarity in this scene and two scenes prior to this are interesting. This scene is firstly visually reminiscent of the Kanan-Hera scene in the beginning of "Kindred" (inviting comparison to the main canon ship of the show), and also the Kanan-Ezra scene at the beginning of "Jedi Night" (which emphasizes again that Kanan and Sabine are the two Most Important People in Ezra's life).
Ezra sits in the exact same pose, in the exact same place, that we saw Kanan meditating at, suggesting that he is also hearing the echoes of things to come, having similar visions of the future. This is certainly supported by his dialogue, where he mentions, "Something's changed... Something's happening." and that he's had a vision of Palpatine sending Thrawn back to Lothal.
Honestly I'm surprised it took Palpatine so long, lol. Thrawn: Treason supposedly takes place over the course of... a week? And the events of "Rebel Assault" to "A World Between Worlds" can't have been more than three or four days.
(This is why I reject the official canon timeline for Rebels, Season Four's events are crammed into the space of a month or two AT BEST.)
But anyway, Palpatine is pretty pissed off about the whole Temple thing so yeah, he's sending Thrawn back to retrieve Ezra personally. This seems to be a big ol' sticking point for our favorite blue bastard because he is NOT HAPPY when he turns back up.
You can't blame him really. He'd barely left Lothal and his TIE Defender project got literally blown up, so he had to spend the budget meeting arguing for what was essentially a smoking crater, and the wager he made with Krennic et. all. ultimately went nowhere because he lost on a technicality, and then the Emperor starts questioning his loyalty because his old Ascendancy friends showed up during the shenanigans, and then Palpatine dismissed him to go clean up the mess on Lothal and fetch him back a teenager for Sith sorcery bullshit.
...He'd had a very bad week, is what I'm saying.
I got off topic there, where was I?
Oh yes, Ezra's risky gamble. Fun fact, that was the original title of the episode, "Ezra's Gamble". I assume they axed it because it would give too much away. And like I've said before, if they could have avoided showing Ryder in footage taking the Dome for the finale previews, they could have really sold his false betrayal.
Pryce does not look like she's having a good week either lol.
Ezra continues to be cryptic about things, yet another hint to us that he's gotten "insider information" from the Force, as it were, and has made plans according to multiple possible outcomes. This is just one of the reasons why he outmaneuvered Thrawn, the other major one being that there was no possible way for Thrawn to predict Ezra throwing space whales at him lol.
This interference by the Force could have been a bit of a Deus Ex Machina but I think it's pretty clear that the Force only shared what might happen and left Ezra to figure out a solution on his own.
And his solution was space whales. XD
That comes later though, after this very risky gambit with letting Ryder broadcast their location to Pryce. A lot of things could have gone wrong. Hera might not have made it back in time. Ryder could have decided to genuinely betray them. Rukh could have gotten in a lucky strike and incapacitated him.
We are apparently putting a LOT of trust in the Force today.
This action setpiece is a great one so I'll just cover a few of my favorite highlights:
Tumblr media
All the shots that track Sabine as she jetpacks around the battlefield.
Tumblr media
Ezra versus Rukh.
Tumblr media
Zeb going full feral with the minigun.
And of course on the other side of things Hondo trying to count the number of times he'd been collided with pulling off this exact maneuver they're using lol. The blockade seems to have thinned from "Rebel Assault", not as many capital ships?, so maybe I was right in that Thrawn called for reinforcements to repel the attack. Still gives Ezra the highest kill count by proxy at the end of things.
Oh and once again there's a moment where someone threatens Sabine in order to force Ezra to surrender. <3 Love that.
Pryce is awfully smug until the Ghost shows up, lol. (To heroic Main Theme fanfare into the Rebel Alliance theme of course.) Someone on the writing team understood the power of a good Eucatastophe. (Tolkien term, it means "the sudden happy turn to good".)
The clones also get a leitmotif fanfare as they debark the Ghost.
And we get a lovely Force Theme as Ezra gets his most badass shot.
Tumblr media
Hell yeah.
The wolves sequence is amazing. The dramatic chorus, the chaos, the wolves skirting the veeeeeeeeeeery boundary of what's allowed on a Y7 show lol.
You know some of the troopers got ate.
One last shoutout to Hera using the Ghost to straight up smack a gunship out of the air and now we've come to the end of the setpiece. It can be hard sometimes to fill a full episode with one action sequence but this episode pulls if off perfectly. It never feels stale or boring, there are multiple bits and moments that just work. (I've always loved the moment where Ezra lunges for Ruhk's energy staff and uses the momentum of Rukh lunging for the same to straight up yeet him off the platform.)
Ezra's completely nonphased at Hondo's slung arm shoulder hug now aww.
Moving right along into the next segment...
Tumblr media
This soft intro with Ezra talking to his parents' picture, telling them they are the inspiration behind his actions, how he wishes they could meet his new family, how he knows what he needs to do, but he's afraid. T_T Hgn he's precious and so mature and I love him so so much.
He knows what he might have to do, guys. He knows he might never actually see Lothal again and he's still prepared to make that sacrifice if he has to.
He's SUCH a good Jedi you guys I can't.
Kallus gets a token line here about his defection which is... okay. But again, really needed more from this arc for it to have a full impact.
"We come to it at last; the great battle of our time."
One casual wolf threat later, Pryce has agreed to transmit the victory codes and our heros fly off to the capitol to pull off their boldest venture yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I will never ever get over this moment. Sabine so attuned to Ezra even without the Force that she can tell just by looking at him how distracted and sad and scared he is.
How Ezra so clearly wants to tell her but holds back, and substitutes instead a declaration of absolute faith and trust.
And how she sees right through that and knows Something Weird Be Up With The Boy, Yo.
But like so many other conversations between the two, things are left unfinished, the mission and circumstances taking precedence.
Love the two quipping back to Pryce tho. <3
Still a crapton of air pollution over the city. This would clear up dramatically in the climax, for a bit of a symbolic moment.
There are SO many callbacks to previous moments in the show in this sequence, I noted a couple of them in my original liveblog but I'm certain there's a few I missed.
The music cue is great too, as is the effective silence once they've taken the bridge. A little bit of musical breathing space before things get hairy again, courtesy of Rukh ambushing the others back at base and stealing a gunship.
You know? I'm not quite sure what the plan was for if they managed to destroy the Dome before Thrawn got back. Seems a little shortsighted to blow up all the fighters and equipment and your city shields. A single Star Destroyer is more than capable of leveling cities and there are several in orbit around Lothal.
This honestly lends even more credence to the idea that, Force visions aside, Ezra was largely making this up as he went and had NO idea what he was doing lol.
Indy Ploy versus Xanatos Gambit. Indy Ploy wins by virtue of there was no way the Xanatos Gambit could predict the level of crazy Ezra's ideas were.
Tumblr media
Amazing how empty the streets are when they've been emptied of Imperials.
Thrawn arrives, per schedule, and parks right over the Dome so that can't launch, lest they create catastrophic collateral damage. Important to note, for the people who want to nitpick No Endor Holocaust scenarios, the show specifically details that the city shields put out by the Dome deflected the Star Destroyer wreckage when the purrgil came, and that the Rebels directed the Dome to explode over the bay, not the city. The Cadet Academy is also a completely different building.
I mean, sure the debris from the Dome probably isn't great for the bay's ecosystem but honestly the water was probably already super polluted from the factories, they had to clean it up anyway.
Where was I? Right, Thrawn getting to be really awesomely creepy. The placid, "Are you quite finished?" gives me chills every time. Once again let me praise the expression work on this show because Ezra's soft Oh Crap look is amazing.
The dawning horror on Sabine's face too.
And then this music cue! The tension is drawn out just long enough for us to fully appreciate the horror.
Tumblr media
:((((((
They even give us a nice wide-shot to appreciate just how much damage just those few seconds of bombardment did.
I had a rant here originally about the dumbass headcanon that Thrawn targeted empty buildings in this sequence (that may or may not have originated from Timothy Zahn himself) but if you've been following me you already know how I feel about it. It's asinine and I won't entertain it. Moving on.
Backed into a corner, Ezra knows he has no choice but to give himself up to Thrawn. This track in the score, "Sabine Sees Ezra" perfectly captures the sorrow and drama. It starts with a strained version of Ezra's theme, that doesn't resolve, fading instead into mournful original strings. Hera's entreaties for him to stay are painful, we can't help but think of what must be in her head--she just lost Kanan, she's afraid to lose him too. But Ezra is a Jedi. He is the guardian of Lothal. So he must make the sacrifice no one else can. He can't choose to be selfish.
So while Hera and the others try to figure out a way around the problem of Thawn, Ezra goes to confront it head on, secretly signaling to Chopper, who has been entrusted with so much of this plan.
And Sabine sees him.
Tumblr media
It's a consistent theme throughout their relationship. She sees him. She notices him. She's attuned to when he's upset. She perceives him in a way that's unique from everyone else.
And he trusts her so implicitly that he silently asks for her help here, and after a moment of agony she does it, because she trusts him too.
These two just break my heart. :(
Sabine keeps looking back at the empty spot where he had been. T_T
There's a theme here about attachment and loss again, and it comes from Sabine. Like a Jedi, she's able to let go of her fear of loss and trust Ezra, whatever happens, and is able to encourage Hera to do the same. Her theme plays out here, strongly, before giving way to an excerpt of the Main Titles theme, uniting the Rebels in their heroism.
Ezra's theme playing again here, skittish and frightened. Once again the expression work is heartbreaking. Ezra looks like he's steeling himself, holding back his fear. He's resigned to his purpose, but that doesn't mean he's enjoying it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND NOW WE GET MY FAVORITE HANNIBAL LECTURE/SHUT UP HANNIBAL EXCHANGE! :D
The dialogue between Thrawn and Ezra here is so good.
"You could have chosen to let your people die. However... you chose to be a Jedi." Jedi cannot help what they are, the Jedi Code is like an itch he cannot help it *sobs in Kenobi feelings*.
Thrawn pontificating about how petty things like ethics get in the way of being efficient. He picks at Ezra from several different angles in this conversation, first by deriding the moral code of the Jedi, then by pointing out that their righteousness did not save the Jedi in the end, all that's left are frightened poorly trained children--a clear dig at Ezra himself. He laments what a shame it is that the Jedi didn't apply their powers in a way he deems would have been effective, implicitly suggesting that the Jedi should have used their power to dominate and conquer--Might Makes Right, after all, if you have the means to achieve a certain end you should use it.
Ezra tanks that calmly, pointing out that the Force isn't a weapon.
So Thrawn switches tactics, now lamenting that he must destroy Lothal (no you don't you asshole you can literally just disobey orders and defect, the total genocide of Lothal is entirely within your power to prevent) and oh, isn't it such a shame about Sabine.
And that hits Ezra's berserk trigger lol.
He snaps back at Thrawn. You're a tyrant, a bully, you didn't make or earn any of this, you just took it because you could, because you think your strength makes you right.
Thrawn essentially confirms that, "Yeah, having power does make me right." before leading him down to where the Temple doors have been set up for his meeting with the Emperor. Which kind of makes me think Thrawn wanted the opportunity to dress Ezra down and soften him up for Palpatine's manipulations because he could have just had the troopers shove him into the hanger first thing.
Subtle animation appreciation moment: The way Ezra keeps looking around in astonishment, wide-eyed, at the sight of the Temple doors.
Palpatine cloaks himself in white like an angel of light for this final temptation, wearing the guise of a friend or kindly old grandpa. It's every bit as unsettling as it seems.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile with the B-Squad, Mart reveals that--like Chopper--he has also been entrusted with a crucial part of Ezra's "Just in case" plan. (Theirs is an underrated friendship, fanficcers you have let me down, again, why do I have to write all the things I wanna see more of?)
That shot of the wolves running alongside and under the Ghost. *chef kiss*
I have no idea when Ezra found time to figure out a signal the purrgil would respond to but I very much want to see that scene.
Sabine: "He [Ezra] knows what he's doing." Lol are you sure about that, 'bine? I think he had no clue the whole purrgil thing would work.
Palpatine is so slimy here, ugh. Acting like he did Ezra a favor by desecrating the Jedi Temple. Ezra's all ready to fling back anything ol Sheev throws at him here until Palpatine takes aim right at the heart of his greatest weakness.
Because after all this time, Ezra has never quite fully gotten over and accepted the loss of his parents. He's still at heart a lost little boy who misses his mom and dad.
The score goes almost Stravinsky-esque here, suggesting the Faustian nature of the deal Sidious is offering.
Meanwhile down in the gullet of the Dome, the Rebels are working feverishly to regain control of the the shield generator. There's some great coordination here between the teams and the control, Sabine really shines as a leader.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Word of God behind the scenes confirms Ezra is seeing THE day his parents were taken, his seventh birthday, when he could hear his mom and dad calling for him but didn't come because he was goofing off.
Hey uh, can this boy's life stop being ENDLESSLY SAD please? That'd be nice.
Love how Gregor calls for "something drastic" and Zeb immediately thinks, "Right, yeeting myself at the enemy." lol.
Gotta respect a man whose strategy is to fling himself full force at the enemy.
And the obligatory Make TCW Fans Cry Moment with Gregor here.
Palpatine keeps digging. This is your heart's desire isn't it? Don't you deserve this? All you have to do is open this one little door. He tries to keep Ezra's attention and focus on himself, even when Ezra asks what will happen to his friends if he makes this choice.
You can undo their deaths, Palpatine promises, about Ezra's parents. You can save them. I can help. It's the exact temptation he offered Anakin all those years ago.
"I have the power to give you what you want. You won't have to face this loss."
Like a devil, what he offers is a two-edged sword. What he is offering can't actually exist. Because if Ezra goes to be with his parents on the day they were arrested, how will he be able to make it here to open the door for Palpatine? Will Palpatine have to trap him in a closed loop, retrieve him from wherever he will end up in the alternate timeline, to ensure he can't fix this one fatal mistake?
See Palpatine doesn't care about breaking the timeline, he will gladly do it and rule over the ruins. But if Ezra reaches for this vision, he dooms his friends. He allows Palpatine to gain power beyond his wildest imaginings, turn himself into lord and master of time itself, a physical god.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So Ezra must deny himself, accept the loss, and let go.
Tumblr media
And he does.
The Emperor's hologlamour flickering and failing as his rage ascends is really effectively creepy. Also HOW ABOUT THEM RETURN OF THE JEDI PARALLELS?
Years down the line, yet another pure-hearted Jedi boy will stand before the Emperor, throw his offer in his face, and tell him where to shove it. Even the dialogue mirrors Luke's.
"You're wrong. I have a family. I don't need anything from you."/"Never. I'll never turn to the Dark Side. You've failed, Your Highness. I am a Jedi, like my father before me."
"Unfortunate. Destroy him!"/"So be it, Jedi. If you will not be turned, you will be destroyed!"
Poetry. Pure poetry. <3
Ezra gets a nice little face off against the Royal Guards, with some lovely whump in the form of whatever those pikes are doing to him, but manages to weasel himself out of the situation. And then somehow fights his way all the way up to the bridge. So proud of him.
The Rebels get the shield up just in time to prevent Thrawn's full scale bombardment, Rukh frying rather dramatically in the process. Lol and ouch with how irreverent Zeb is over the comm.
So now all that's left to do is break the stalemate and remove Thrawn from the chessboard.
Tumblr media
HELL YES.
Oh hoooo man this twist isn't even really a twist it just makes too much sense for Ezra, for his character, for the themes of the show, for how to take Thrawn out as a threat while respecting his acumen as a strategist. (Gotta throw something at him he would never suspect lol.)
The musical build-up is amazing. Dooming low bass notes, drolling percussion. The strings build up, crescendo-ing.
AND THEN THE "WRATH OF NATURE" CUE FROM "THE CALL" COMES IN WITH GLORIOUS FULL ORCHESTRA.
The Hyperspace theme comes in as well, and the purrgil proceed to utterly decimate Thrawn's fleet. By proxy this gives Ezra probably the highest kill count on the show, as the purrgil must have taken out the orbital construction stations, a good chunk of the Star Destroyers up there, and all three of the ones above the city. (Somehow Palleon survives to join the Council of Evil in Mando Season 3 lol.)
Sabine looks SO confused, ha ha.
Tumblr media
What a great shot.
Thrawn tries to get in a final, Taking You With me speech only for Ezra to be like, "Joke's on you that was the plan all along. You're not taking me with you, I'm taking you with me."
I do love Thrawn's increasingly panicky WTF expressions as things progress.
THIS ADORABLE #MARRIED BANTER BETWEEN EZRA AND SABINE AND THEN HOW THEIR THEMES ARE TONALLY INTERMINGLED IN THIS CUE.
Subtle animation appreciation moment: The way Ezra's left arm hangs limp after Thrawn shoots his shoulder and the pained grimace he gives when he turns around to seal the door behind them.
Tumblr media
He looks exhausted.
Pained grimace number two as Ezra raises his injured arm to wind up IN AN EXACT TABLEAU OF THE POSE KANAN HAD AT HIS OWN HEROIC SACRIFICE.
HELLO YES, ALSO ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOMENTS BETWEEN EZRA AND SABINE AS SHE BEGS HIM TO GET OFF THE CHIMAERA.
ALSO IT BEARS EMPHASIS BUT LOOK HOW THE GLASS SHARDS STILL WHEN EZRA RAISES HIS OTHER ARM.
EZRA IS LITERALLY HOLDING THE OXYGEN INSIDE THE BRIDGE WITH THE FORCE, WHILE HOLDING THRAWN AND THE DOOR IN PLACE, WITH AN INJURED ARM.
Ezra Bridger is the greatest shut up.
The purrgil charge up. Everything goes white. His theme bellows at full heroic volume and then...
Quiet.
Utter awed quiet.
Right, so you wanna know the other of the two times I cried at this show? Ezra's sacrifice right here. Waterworks.
"We set out to save the Shire, and it has been saved. But not for me. I have been too badly hurt. The last pages are for you, Sam."
Sabine is handed Ezra's lightsaber by Chopper, and takes up his mantle, finishing his mission and leading all the rest of them to safety as the launch the Dome and blow it. (Her journey to becoming co-protagonist is complete.)
Chopper gives us a final goodbye message from Ezra (that makes me sad again), and they soar over a triumphant freed populace.
Fade out and then...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*SOBS ABOUT THE BOOKENDS FOREVER*
Shot for shot. Shot. For. Shot. And I am UNDONE.
Lothal is free. The Empire never had a chance to retake it. Likely couldn't spare the manpower from the rest of the galaxy, first off, also replacing all those ships they had in orbit has gotta be expensive, and I suspect Palpatine just put glassing Lothal on hold until the Death Star was completed. And well... we know how that turned out lol.
The Fellowship broke, but they seem to all keep in touch, if Sabine's voiceover is any indication. Kanan's legacy lives on. Our crew found peace.
And last...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A sworn promise to find a precious friend and bring him back home.
The finale of Rebels is near perfection. With a very few quibbles here and there (the purrgil could have been just a smidgen more set up, Kallus's arc still needs to have some decent onscreen content for his redemption happy ending to be earned) it is the best Rebels has to offer.
The callbacks and bookends undo me. The music is full of wonderful dramatic cues. The animation is gorgeous. Everything comes to full completion and it is a very satisfying end.
Overall Season Thoughts:
Season Four is almost a bit nostalgic, returning to the tightly written narrative of the first season, but even more tightly tied together. None of the episodes feel wasted or superfluous. The major character death midway through is given plenty of narrative weight and time for the characters to adjust and grieve. Objectively it's probably the best season overall, none of the episodes are misses.
Even with the unanswered mysteries, the season feels solid, and a fitting conclusion to the overall Rebels saga.
---
And that was Star Wars: Rebels, the little show about a Found Family that could. It is my favorite new Star Wars content and what actually dragged me back into fandom after years away. It is heartwarming and exciting, poignant and hopeful and I'm so so glad I was taken on this journey.
Here's hoping the lost son of Lothal can make his way home soon.

Creche Guardian
Kitsune!Anakin context here but TL:DR a Force Temple takes issue with Anakin’s human form and transforms him into a Kitsune as that’s more becoming of the Chosen One and better reflects his Force connection. Anakin is not impressed.
A side effect no-one expected from Anakin’s transformation was for the younglings in the Creche to love him. They already had childish awe for him on account of all his nonsense and daring feats. He's a General, the Chosen One, and one of the youngest Knighted Jedi. That has many connotations. But most importantly to them, he now comes with massive fluffy tails??
He has to go to the creche as part of his duties after he's knighted to teach them what he has learned to get where he is… only to have about four kids bury their faces in his tails (which now number three) that are built like cushions almost immediately.
Crechemaster: ... Ah Anakin: Help me
There is no escape Skywalker, enjoy your new Creche duties. And he... does?
I've spoken about my thoughts on Anakin burying any parental instincts he might have once had, in another life, but when he tries to pry the kids off of him they are all just so sad. They don't want him to go and jesus christ does Anakin long to be wanted. Even if he’s a little confused by their antics and overwhelmed by all the questions. Of which none have to do with his Knighthood. Kids are simple in comparison to adults so Anakin stays put. Just for this session, he says to himself, only to be found three hours later by Obi-Wan, fast asleep with colourful chalk dusting his fur and children passed out all around him, using the tails as pillows. The Crechemaster looks delighted.
With the transformation, Anakin had slight concerns because he felt that the Kitsune form was actually just a reflection of the monster he could become from within; his propensity for rage and violence. But the kids don’t see a monster. They see a massive fluffy creature who likes to play with them. Anakin has always had mischievious streak, he likes to play games. It goes a long way to helping him accept the more negative parts of himself and that there are always facets of one's being that won’t always be good - it’s how you choose to deal with those faults that matter.
When he eventually develops more tails as the war goes on, he submits to having some of his free time while on leave from the frontlines be in the creche (He’s not as desperate to see Padme in this AU). Sometimes teaching, sometimes helping the Crechmasters wear the more energetic ones out by racing through the Room of a Thousand Fountains. Sometimes just dozing in the middle of a pillow fort, bracketed by his tails on all sides like a padded chair with the younglings haphazardly lying all over them because soft. They feel especially well rested after having a nap on him and seem even more energetic when they wake up, to the Crechemasters consternation. (Like conductive charging your phone but with the literal walking talking Force Nexus)
He has so many little siblings. They’re so small and so fucking funny. He’s realising that kids are hysterical actually and he’s now a big brother to lots of baby Jedi who he can introduce to all the Temple droids, as well as show them all the service tunnels and ventilation routes. He can teach them verbal binary with whistles just to piss off the Crechemaster (revenge for not helping him in the first place) and suddenly all the kids are just conversing in short beeps and trills to a pack of mouse droids.
Anakin: My army grows Mace: Skywalker, for the love of…
Kids are simple, but they are also more delicate and he can’t let his lack of emotional control hurt them. They react poorly to his outbursts of irritation.
Anakin: I'm a monster. I made them cry. Obi-Wan: Ah. What happened? Anakin: Two kids had picked a fight with each other. I tried to separate them but they're so wriggly. I must have lost my temper or gotten snarly because suddenly all of them were crying. Obi-Wan: ... Anakin: I'm awful. How do I fix it? Obi-Wan: If I had known all it would have taken was childcare to get you to learn patience and mindfulness I would have thrown you in there years ago Anakin: You'll help me? Obi-Wan: Anakin, of course I will
Oh man, imagine when he works out how to do illusions.
It would require a level of control he does not currently possess (ever in canon tbh) but he has enough power to make them very convincing. Maybe he practices for the kids? He recreates stories into visual shows, just weak manipulations of light at first but then the more he does it, the more his natural flair comes through and he can make entire productions fill the creche rooms. He bases his stories off of tales his mother used to tell him (given his mother is still alive it's not nearly as traumatic to talk about).
Every Jedi knows that Skywalker is prone to attachments, so obviously him spending so much time with the kids has a lot of them worried but there are new baby force sensitives coming in and younglings are always leaving to become initiates. It gets him used to the idea that though he doesn't see them anymore they're not actually gone. Things come and go with time.
Still, if anyone were to hurt any of the younglings they would have to deal with a very angry, very big Kitsune guarding the doorway and all his many sharp teeth. I’m not saying he’d kill a bitch in the Temple, but the Order would absolutely never see the intruder again.
Kitsune are possessive, they guard what is theirs.
He may or may not skip chances to meet with the Chancellor when he’s planetside simply because he did promise to spend time with the younglings next time he was in the Temple. The Chancellor will understand. You just don’t disappoint kids.
The Chancellor does not understand and actually accuses the Jedi Order of keeping Skywalker from him, only the Council had no idea that Anakin wasn't meeting with the man anymore. Intentionally or not. Obi-Wan may or may not victory-punch the air when he hears the news and goes to spend time in the Creche with Anakin and all his tiny siblings. Anakin has decided that the part of his Kitsune self he wants to embody is the Protective element. He becomes the Big Brother to so many and solidifies his role as a family member within the Order regardless of how he thinks the Council views him. Loyalty secured.
Then there’s Order 66…
There’s AUs where O66 gets prevented because he manages to get his head out of his ass, but what if he does all that, works on himself, finds a place within the Order he’s happy with and O66 happens... anyway? Palpatine was ready to hit the button regardless in RotS, he just wanted to know if Anakin was in or not. In this AU, he most certainly is not. Plus, Palps doesn't have quite the same strangle hold on him as he does in canon. Got nothing to bargain/manipulate him with either since Padme isn’t his secret wife so their relationship wasn’t a card Palpatine thought he could play.
So, O66 happens and people are in the same places as they are in canon. Only when the call gets sent out this time, Anakin is actually in the Temple already. In the Creche. He has to face down against his own men in blue and white, who are not listening to a word he's saying and actively trying to kill him. Him and the younglings he's with.
Anakin is remembering Fives ranting about clones being forced to kill Jedi and wishing he were here now. Fives who is still out there somewhere, having run when Fox conveniently missed his shot but no-one has seen him since. Anakin is thinking of Rex, who is with Ahsoka, and how this could destroy them both. To say he's a little conflicted is an understatement but it probably only takes one very near shot at one of the kids for Anakin to bug out.
You do not go after his kids.
He doesn't normally go full fox mode in the halls anymore because he's gotten fairly big, but it certainly works as a body shield to stop any more shots making it through while he shepherds all the younglings into the ventilation system where the clones can’t follow. Anakin tries to go easy on his men, incapacitate rather than kill because he knows what is wrong here, but good god they are not making that easy and he is so very angry.
It doesn’t occur to him, until much later, that he referred to the younglings as his kids. Those parental instincts hit him hard.
When he feels it’s safe to do so he follows the younglings he squirrelled away by going Teeny Fox Mode and finds them all huddled together at a junction. They’ve met with a couple of Padawans whose Masters had also yeeted them to safety and a group of Initiates who have learnt the value of hiding in the ventilation system from Ahsoka Tano (It’s the Gathering gang, I love them so sue me). As a Knight, they kind of all default to Anakin to know what to do and there are not a lot of options. They can’t stay in the vents forever and they have to get off Coruscant, but to do that they need a ship big enough to cart all of them away that can leave atmo.
Then he remembers there's a Paladin-class corvette being retrofitted as the new Crucible ship in the hangar. The hangar is not as empty as he would like when they get there but the Crucible II is still there and he’s got no other choice but to chance it.
He can now use every trick he’s ever learned to get the clones patrolling there to leave; his illusions, better force control, himself as a meat shield. All to get the kids into a transport and the fuck off Coruscant. Ganodi mentions she has flight sim training and is immediately put in the co-pilot seat. They miss Bail arriving at the Temple by a few minutes as they leave the planet and jump to hyperspace. Anakin wants to find Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Padme, and Rex. Anakin has no idea what Palpatine has done at this point all he knows is he is now responsible for these baby Jedi and needs help. Please someone help him.
He’s covered in blaster burns, very confused, angry, and sad all at once. One of the Padawans, suggests naptime in a fit of hysteria and Anakin thinks that’s the best idea he’s ever heard. Ship wide naptime. Sure, why not.

Hi! While you'll get some conflicting stuff in Legends (I think I remember a brief mention of it in The Approaching Storm which made me roll my eyes because it was Luminara thinking it and Luminara was wearing her own outfit with her own accessories already, in contrast you also have things like Obi-Wan’s river rock from Jedi Apprentice, which is a possession, so it was entirely dependent on which author you were reading) so it’s not totally coming out of nowhere, but it’s one of those things where it’s a random author from deep supplementary material because they just assume the Jedi can’t have possessions, but higher canon contradicts it. We see a handful of rooms in the Jedi Temple and they do tend to skew towards simple in decor (but you also have to consider that animation is HELLA expensive for something that’s only going to be used once, that’s why characters stay in the same clothes in animation so much of the time, because it costs a lot of money to design an outfit that can move around the way they need) but we can see Jedi possessions are not forbidden: - Anakin’s room is chock full of stuff:

Barriss has her prayer statue that’s unique to her:

Depa went all out in her room:

Yoda has candles in his room as well:

There’s a few quotes from Disney canon that says even Initiates have possessions:      “But this morning, [Qui-Gon had] had to pack his few possessions in a small bundle and leave the crèche where he’d lived as long as he could remember.“ [Master and Apprentice]     “So instead Obi-Wan trudged to his room. It was small and austere, but a shelf above his bed held a few treasures he had gathered. A rock from Ilum. A flower Siri had once tucked behind his ear as a joke. A shell Prie had given him that was probably from an unspeakably terrifying creature she adored. The spoon from their initiate days that Bolla had for some reason decided was his favorite, so they all made a game of stealing it. Obi-Wan had won, he supposed, since they were no longer younglings.”  [Padawan]     “Qui-Gon sat on the simple gray cushion he kept in place of more elaborate seating. He had never added furniture for hosting guests. Obi-Wan always felt like he was somehow intruding, like there really was no place for him in Qui-Gon’s life. He knew Siri’s master had a table for two in her living quarters where they took most meals together, and Prie’s had insisted on a Padawan room right next to his own so they could have easier access to each other when studying together.” [Padawan] (I don’t have the direct quote on hand, but in The Clone Wars: Stories of Light and Dark, Katooni also has a poster of Ahsoka on her wall that she hung up.) Overall, I look at it this way, there are three things that are going into what we see with the Jedi: - Every single frame of animation costs money to make and TCW was not rich at the time it was made, so rooms are designed simply because it was cheaper - The Jedi have a touch of ascetism going on because they’re not super big into worldly possessions and they’re Buddhist monks - I think it works really well as a theme--most Jedi just don’t need stuff, they’re content as they are.  If they want some stuff, they’re perfectly fine to have it, not once does anyone give Anakin a bad time about all the stuff in his room, he openly displays it, it’s fine.  But as a theme, Anakin’s a character who clings onto things, who has trouble letting go, who wants to be surrounded by tangible things, rather than living in harmony with the transient nature of life. Jedi seem to naturally lean towards not having a lot of possessions, they just don’t seem to need them, but they are emphatically NOT forbidden from having them!  There’s nothing in canon that I’ve ever come across that says they’re frowned upon, either. It goes hand in hand with how Jedi are often seen wearing outfits from their birth cultures, like Shaak and Ahsoka with their headddresses, Luminara and Barriss with their head coverings and tattooss, things that are just theirs. So, you’ll see it come up in fic a lot and it’s not like it came out of nowhere, but primary canon does say, yeah, Jedi can have possessions, but they don’t really seem to want or need to have very many of them.

I woke up today and chose violence, so this is my "Rael Averross is Luthen Rael" in Andor endgame theory.
"Calm. Kindness. Kinship. Love. I’ve given up all chance at inner peace. I’ve made my mind a sunless space. I share my dreams with ghosts. I wake up every day to an equation I wrote 15 years ago from which there’s only one conclusion, I’m damned for what I do. My anger, my ego, my unwillingness to yield, my eagerness to fight, they’ve set me on a path from which there is no escape. I yearned to be a savior against injustice without contemplating the cost and by the time I looked down there was no longer any ground beneath my feet." - Luthen Rael (on why he's a fucking Jedi)
Luthen Rael, a Jedi?! Yeah kinda really seems like it
I'm hardly the first person to have picked up the hints that Luthen Rael was a Jedi at one point. He whips out a kyber crystal like it's nothing, specifies that his whole life changed 15 years ago (count back to Order 66), perceives that his embrace of anger instead of a list of ideals that sound a lot like the Jedi code is a failing, and the "share my dreams with ghosts" line sure does sound like the survivor of a genocide that targeted a specifically psychic community of people. He carries around that stupid wooden "walking stick" thing that's obviously a barely-disguised lightsaber. His fucking SHIP has a big lightsaber beam for christsakes.
In a universe where several Jedi do survive to go on to help the Rebellion under assumed identities, it's not a stretch to think that there's a conveniently-placed, established one still on Coruscant working for the proto-Rebellion in the years leading up to Andor.
So why do I think Luthen is Rael Averross, Dooku's first apprentice?
The clue in their similar names would certainly keep with the tradition of Jedi in hiding barely changing their names (looking at you "Ben" Kenobi who dresses in ... a Jedi robe.) But there's more than that.
The last time anyone saw Rael Averross was the end of the Master and Apprentice novel, where he's at the end of a 7-year-mission out of the Temple, faced with the possibility of joining Dooku, and uncertain about his future with the Jedi Order. While he ultimately doesn't decide to follow in Dooku's footsteps, his future after that does not seem clear. We don't see him again, not even in Tales of the Jedi. We know he was brought to the Temple very late (at age 5) and judging from Pijal, is very comfortable living outside the Temple as a regular guy. We know he has some difficulty feeling a sense of belonging in the Jedi Order, which seems to have worsened after Dooku left. If he left the Jedi at some point after Pijal, as he seems to have at least considered, he could have been well placed to survive Order 66.
There are other small details that could hint at their shared identity. Luthen's profession, running an antique shop full of very significant prequel easter eggs, fits with some backstory - Dooku's preoccupation with artifacts and Rael Averross's likely exposure to them. In fact, the Jedi prophecy holocrons that Dooku, Qui-Gon, and Rael all seem to obsess over at various points are even literally present, stashed in his shop. He doesn't speak with a Coruscanti accent. He's in possession of a blue kyber crystal (Averross fights with a blue lightsaber.) Rael Averross is politically connected from his time as regent on Pijal; Luthen Rael also utilizes such political connections. Luthen Rael even has a trusted, young female protégée and confidant -- if you want to go all into Rael Averross's Lost Daughter Trauma.
Both Dooku: Jedi Lost (2019) and the Master and Apprentice (2019) novels which came out ahead of Andor's 2022 release date go out of their way to flesh out the character, place him in Dooku's inner circle, and detail points of connection like the artifacts and holocron study. In a meta way, I wondered why they were spending so much book time on a relatively minor character only tangentially related to characters who get screentime. (For example, new canon hasn't touched any of Qui-Gon's previous apprentices, and if the point was just to explore Dooku's other students, Komari and Galidraan would tie in with the Jango Fett storyline and the Mandalorians.) These choices aren't random or at the author's whim; in an interview, Cavan Scott of Dooku: Jedi Lost infamy mentions he was specifically told to stay away from Dooku and Rael's apprentice days in that book. Someone in the greater Star Wars content ecosystem was paying attention to this character. Why?
Why not?
I think the biggest argument that he's not Rael Averross is the physical appearance - Claudia Gray describes Rael as short and "tan"/dark skinned, Stellan Skarsgård is a a 6'3 Swede. Probably that should stop my argument right there, but unfortunately, it wouldn't be the first time Star Wars has retconned right over a fairly large detail like that, and frankly, has a problem doing that more often with nonwhite characters. (*making direct eye contact with Clone Wars's take on Sifo-Dyas, but even Quinlan Vos occasionally gets white washed*)
Ultimately, I don't think that Andor is the kind of show that will want to show you a Luke Skywalker cameo; in the same way, I have a hard time imagining that if this theory is correct, we'll get more than a nod and a wink confirmation. The show is all about little people coming together to fight the Empire.
But I think there's at least a decent chance that Luthen Rael is a familiar face, and if so, I can't see a better place for one of the disaster lineage to end up.

Grogu touching the snout of Boba Fett's rancor. Image from The Book of Boba Fett, Season 1, Episode 7, In the Name of Honor. Calendar by DataWorks.
Grogu never thought that he was going to be lucky enough to see a rancor, let alone touch one. But he had. Been lucky that is. Most people didn’t hope to get that close to the huge critter. Rancors were extremely large and very scary looking and weighed more than a land speeder. They were also carnivores. Yikes.
Honestly, Grogu wasn’t really worried much about that last part. Sure, other people needed to worry about a rancor eating them or grabbing them with their huge hands, but not Grogu. If you think that’s just because he can use the Force and is very special because of that… you’d be correct.
“Know your strengths and weaknesses, young Grogu, and you will make wise choices.”
Obi-Wan Kenobi told him that and Grogu was grateful for the advice. It had served him well over the years. Grogu didn’t have to wonder if he should try and overpower the rancor with a fantastical feat of strength. That would be silly. Grogu wasn’t even half a meter tall. He was just over a third of a meter in height which meant that the rancor was easily 14 times as tall as he was! Fourteen! He couldn’t even put his arms all the way around one of the rancor’s digits.
Nope. He couldn’t use strength.
Then rancors were only sort of sentient. They were trainable. They mostly knew friend from foe. They were a lot like a very large barghest. And them imprinted on the first person or creature they saw. They would be devoted to that being and protect them at any cost.
Grogu had spent time reading up on rancors as part of his training at the Jedi Temple. The critters were originally from Dathomir, but had been found on other planets. They definitely weren’t native to Tatooine, but few of things on Tatooine were native species. He suppose that’s what happened when smugglers and gangs and other criminals made a place ‘home’. They brought things to that place that just didn’t belong there for one reason or another.
But the lack of full sentience in rancors meant that Grogu couldn’t negotiate with the big critter. He couldn’t just smile and giggle and win them over. Nope. Rancors didn’t seem to care about things like that very much.
That all meant that Grogu had to deal with the rancor using a different tool. One that he was reluctant to use right up to the point that he saw the huge critter try to bite his dad’s head. Thank goodness Din Djarin had been wearing his beskar helmet. While Grogu wasn’t typically a fan of his dad hiding his face, it really helped that day.
The rancor attacking his dad meant that Grogu had to take firm action and it had to be decisive. But he didn’t want to see the critter hurt. Not like what happened with the mudhorn. He didn’t know the Mandalorian as well back then, but he really wished Din Djarin hadn’t felt the need to kill the critter and had just stunned it or something. The Force was not well served by diminishing the lives that supported it.
That created a dilemma that Grogu had to be creative to deal with. He couldn’t just lift the rancor up and shake it and drop it. First, that just seemed mean and second, it would put him at substantial risk. Picking critters up required a lot of concentration and focus. One of those scorpan things could have hurt him or one of the Pykes, if any of them were still living. No. Grogu had to do something different. Something subtle. Something that the rancor would actually like.
Grogu thought about his choices for a split second and remembered another saying that the Jedi Masters used from time to time at the Temple. “If all else fails, take a nap.”
Grogu couldn’t remember who said it, but one of them did and it was good advice. Sleep resolved a lot of problems. Not sure if you are really hungry or just bored? Take a nap. If you can’t fall asleep you are really hungry. Not sure if you should study more or go outside to play? Take a nap. If you fell asleep you didn’t have enough energy to do either thing. Need to deal with a rampaging rancor but you don’t want to hurt the critter? Use the Force to make it take a nap. Easy peasy!
Kind of.
Not really.
Yes, it was the best possible outcome. The critter stopped attacking his dad and didn’t threaten anyone else. It was obviously tired, scared and injured because the Pykes were mean and the Scorpan droids didn’t care who they fired at. So getting it to calm down, feel drowsy, forget the pain, and feel warm and secure and loved, which were big elements of using the Force to make a critter fall asleep, was a very complicated and delicate balance. That took a lot of focus, persistence, and compassion. And energy. A lot of energy.
That made Grogu’s next decision far easier than he imagined. The question had been should he run over to Peli and give her a hug and check on that tooth she lost, or should he run over to his dad and make sure his helmet hadn’t gotten dented by the rancor’s teeth. He made the only choice his training had prepared him to make.
He took a nap.
What was good for the rancor was good for the Grogu. It was as simple as that.
