I went to an anime and games con as an adult for the first time today and you bet your shit I wore a Karasuno uniform (along w/my actual volleyball trainers & authentic volleyball related injury bc when I commit I commit). Have a rare picture of me & then erase it from your minds:

Anyway, it was a super cute but exhausting day. I went expecting to absolutely RINSE my money on Bakugou & Bokuto merch, but couldn't find any Bakugou merch I liked and only found ONE Bokuto sticker. Anime cons letting me down on my best boys. So... if you go to an anime con that has Bokuto merch, plz send it to your sad pal in London??

I did find some super cute other Haikyuu merch (shared below), a Haikyuu "surprise box" (which, considering I have about 11 million characters I like, surprised me with Oikawa, one of the few characters I don't love that much LOL) and some wild as fuck MHA merch in a "surprise bag" that mostly looks like stolen art (???)

The MHA bag in question which contained a variety of (stolen fanart??) posters, bookmarks, temporary tattoos, colouring pages, other random stuff and a SHOTO CUSHION COVER???

i dont have any witty comments or insights for this page. i am however looking into making keychains and pins. i have limited ideas for pins, my usual manufacturer makes wooden pins up to 4cm in size which is too small for what designs i have already but i did get a couple cat designs for fun.

keychains i have the opposite problem where i have too many ideas for my budget. some are just my usual lgbt stuff and some are fanart because i have 2 anime/gaming cons in august. (also a couple other cons in late september!) but keychains are more expensive than stickers so i can't do them all (specifically i was going to do some spiderverse stuff but also the owl house and mha). one day ill probably do some sac merch but thats like, for future me with a bigger budget since oc stuff doesnt sell as well sadly.

anyway thats how my life's going. also i'm 25 now too i guess. i lied about no commentary for this page i got a new tablet from my parents and at first i was hesitant because my old one worked fine but then i tried my new one and was like holy shit this is what a good tablet feels like? because my old was a hand crampingly small cheap wacom with terrible pen pressure but i didnt like, realise that since all ive ever used were small cheap tablets. i feel like that naruto guy (rock lee i think) dropping his training weights. still adjusting though

I usually don’t make posts like this bc sharing hobbies and interests on the internet makes me very very anxious for whatever reason but I really really wanna share this issue of the Dragon magazine I found at the thrift store yesterday!!!!!!!!

25th anniversary edition of the official D&D magazine !!!!! It is issue 284 and it came out in June 2001. Unfortunately it did not come with the advertised bonus CD rom when I bought it though :[

I’m gonna use this post to show off some of the stuff that’s in it that I really liked or found interestingggg :]

First off we have a full spread add for baulders gate 2, which is kinda funny considering the third one didn’t come out that long ago. I want to eat this ye oldie early 2000ds generic fantasy font I bet it tastes like burnt shortbread.

A little step by step on how the artist made the cover which I find like. Infinitely charming. Especially since this cover itself is so gorgeous. I hope Todd Lockwood is doing good today.

A full page add for an online anime fantasy rpg called Nexus the kingdom of the winds. OUGGGGEEEEE this art style,,,,,,, it takes me back to places it takes me back to like that one vampire anime and clanad and YouTube anime top tens. Fuck graphic design we should start putting sparkles and radial gradients on everything again.

Two little sections where it seems people can submit photos and stories about themselves or their game members to be published. The Dm of the month one is genuinely heartwarming and cute. The thought of Steve seeing that he won made me smile. Also “Nubile dwarf chicks” and “chaotic secretive” is a great example of how early 2000nds out of pocket this issue can be sometimes. You can fucking smell the energy off the second image.

A full on campaign setting of the real city of London. I didn’t take pictures of all of it but it has a history section, locations, npcs, adventure hooks, and what even looks like a little blank dungeon layout of a mansion . I feel like putting real places as campaign settings has always been like, a thing, but I don’t see it too often. Its charming I like it.

A section on how to assemble your own monster models. Admittedly I know close to nothing about model making so this was an extremely fun read for me

A bunch of PC portraits of half dragons that are so so cool. You see a lot of stuff about people getting really specific designs about different hybrids like oh a dwarf tyfling looks different than an elf tyfling n that sort of stuff in the modern day but you don’t really see it canonized at all. So it’s really interesting to see that concept in an officially published D&D thing, even if it’s just a magazine. I really like the dwarf one a lot.

Possibly my favorite thing ever is this cartoon that reads like a fucking wizard tumblr shitpost. Like down to a fucking tea this is some shit the evil wizard blog would say and it makes me so so so happyyyyyyyyy. It’s the cadence that amazes me they got the tumblr wizard cadence exactly right. Im posting this shit on its own without shame bc I need people to see it. Pour me something whimsical and arcane bar wench.

Death Note the Musical @ NYCC2023: Album Listening Party

As described by Playbill: "A late-night listening party of the recently announced studio concept album will follow at 9 PM, with Valdes and John-Wilson joining along with host Louis Hobson and special guest Ashley Loren (Moulin Rouge! The Musical)."

I want to emphasize that the listening party happened almost 12 hours after the morning DNTM panel and on Day 3 of the con. People were exhausted, but so many people still made it a point to come check out the new album for a show that has never been performed in the US. I got there 40 minutes before the start time and there was already a sizable queue. Anyway, here's the deets (I don't have a full recording of this since my phone was about to die so this is just what I remember):

Louis Hobson, one of the producers in London and producer for the concept album, did trivia and gave away merch. He introduced the album sneak peeks with, "Some of these tracks just came to me today and we put them in the show today."

Frank Wildhorn was in Hawaii and couldn't make it, but he recorded a brief video to say hi. I saw it shared as an Instagram story later but I can't find it now so it's possible it didn't get preserved. Luckily I was still recording at this point :)

"Hey everybody, aloha, this is Frank Wildhorn, the composer of Death Note! I wanted to welcome you all to comic con and to this wonderful adventure that we are all on. For a few years ago [sic], when I was asked by my Japanese producers to do a musical of Death Note, I wasn't so into anime and the manga world, but my kids were, and my kids introduced me to the genre, and it's amazing - it's such great source material and of course it has the best fans in the world, you guys. I'm so happy and honored to have the chance to do this for you and i hope you enjoy the experience of comic con. Much love, aloha, arigato gozaimasu, ??? signing off."

They had planned to do a cosplay contest, but it was immediately evident that @seximexipapi (IG) should win:

Not sure why Secrets and Lies and Stalemate were cut but I'm glad to finally be getting The Way Things Are in English.

OH and I remember at the very end Hobson vagueing about big news coming soon :)

So my name is Stitched-Mouth, mostly known as Stitched. I’ve been writing for about 6 years now and have been on Tumblr for about 4 years. My original account, @stitched-mouth, was recently terminated which was heartbreaking. I lost a lot of work and motivation. But I managed to save my Kinktober and Valak works which could have been lost as well. My Kinktober works will come out every day and are all currently up to date, my Valak works will be reposted on here when I can.

Just wandering what is there to know about Barry (my sister told me about you so I'm asking you)

Well, aside from what we’ve seen (or rather heard) of him in the demo, we do also have this handy dandy profile about him linked over on the official Sunny Day Jack twitter. Though the official tumblr’s link about him gives a little something... extra.

Barry is the manager of the Frozen Yogurt Shop that the player works at! We’ve decided to give him a sprite for the next demo update, so don’t worry if you may have forgotten him for a bit.

anyway i was going to draw the lineart more scribbly like the one overlayed there but it felt like it might look lazy so i redrew it and used the old lineart as a fun voerlay.

It's a bit of a mixture of all kinds of things but I usually go for anything gaming-related and the artists. Hyper Japan is also pretty fun!
