I'solan Solar System - Planet Descriptions and System Diagrams, Visuals
Visual Description of First Landing
“Surrounded by black obsidian, lifeless, and a small river cuts through the rock on your right, leaving smooth edges on its banks. It’s the only sound. A ways off, you can see green plants of odd shapes and various sizes..(wind)(light).. It’s brighter than night should be and too dark for day; everything has an odd (stygian) blue cast to it. In the sky, a silver band is backlit by an endless number of stars.”
Additional Descriptors: Dusk, before sunrise/sunset, Antarctica autumn, Storms, Fog, Eclipse, Caves, Silver curtain

The I’sola live on one of a set of rotating twin planets (a binary planet system). These planets have opposite and interlocking magnetic poles, which allow them to stay as close as they are without incident - gravity pulling them together, magnetism repelling them, and inertia helping to keep them apart. Hoset and Ma’al, or Hephaestus and Pan, share both an atmosphere composed of oxygen and carbon dioxide (percentages varying throughout the year) and a glass ring made of shattered meteors that orbits the twin system. The planets themselves are vastly different from one another.
Hoset/Hephaestus
Hoset is the planet that is unable to support life. Throughout the year (623 days), carbon and other material falls to Hoset in the way of meteors. These materials build up until the system gets close enough to the sun on its elliptical orbit and Hoset lights on fire for a fairly short burning season (44 days), burning out all of the oxygen in the atmosphere and replenishing the carbon dioxide necessary for the I’sola that live on Ma’al. Hoset constantly faces the sun and rotates at about the same speed as Ma’al.
Ma’al/Pan
Ma’al is a black planet with large, fast-moving rivers running to the poles. As the ash from Hoset floats over and coalesces into these rivers and fertilizes much of the planet, it ends up at the poles where enormous geysers shoot it up into space, sometimes temporarily creating dark clouds in the sky. There are two times of Ma’al’s rotation cycle: the Ring and the Eclipse. The Ring lasts for three quarters of the rotation and  refers to what we would think of as nighttime, with a silver band of light standing out against the night sky, no moon to speak of. The Eclipse refers to Hoset standing out as a black circle in the sky, covering the sun but leaving a surrounding fiery afterimage, the ring fading into black as it draws away. During burning seasons, Hoset simply looks like a large sun. Each rotation lasts 31.5 Earth hours though the I’sola speak of time in terms of rotational degrees - 0°/360° being the center of the eclipse “Ban” (meaning halfway) and 180° being Midring. “Planetfall” is when many I’sola go to rest, looking like an inverted sunset/sunrise.

Image 1 (Left): A diagram of the I’solan Solar System, with its binary planets: Hoset and Ma’al. The gray planet is Ma’al, consistently the furthest from the sun - the I’sola live here. Hoset is depicted as white, in its burning seasons, and black when it sits as a dreary, dead lump of rock. Hoset’s burning seasons occur when the planetary orbit is closest to the sun; it lights on fire and burns for two seasons throughout the year. The oval around the two planets depicts the glass ring that Hoset and Ma’al share. It is made of melted bits of meteors and it refracts sunlight around to the back of Ma’al even during its ‘night’.
Image 2 (Right): A diagram of the day cycle of Ma’al, as it relates to Hoset. Ma’al (in gray) rotates clockwise as depicted above. Between 45°-90°, Hoset is hazy and slightly more distant in the sky, the sun more blinding than eclipsed by the dead planet, and the ring slowly fades in or out with the darkness. At 0°/Ban, the center of the eclipse, there is a complete solar eclipse, a void backlit by the sun. During the burning seasons, Hoset looks fiery red.

Image 3 (Above): A depiction of the I’solan written calendar. The ring rotates vertically around the binary planet system, and the days can be tracked by the angle of it in the sky.

J'onn: Cola is used to remove rust, imagine what it's doing to your body!
Ma'al: getting rid of all that lame rust lmao.
J'onn: that's not how it works-
Ma'al: idk bro I've been drinking cola and my body is rust free.
This is for @jesncin and their version of J'onn and his brother Ma'al. Check it the heck out, I can promise that you won't regret it.

Ty for the ask! sorry it took so long to get back :0
Since I've been writing for a bit today, I figure I can share a short snippet, rather than just a sentence. This is for my humans are weird story!

One of the worst justifications for the Hamas massacre that I have seen is the idea that the Palestinians had been suffering for 75 years, and such a long period of suffering is what made them be so brutal towards the civilians in the Jewish state.
This ignores, of course, brutal massacres that happened way before decades had passed since Israel's Independence War (which the Arabs started and lost). One such massacre took place on March 17, 1954. Less than five years after the end of that war. The other day, we commemorated 70 years since it happened. In order to remember, one reporter interviewed a survivor.
The entire piece was too long for Tumblr even after I downgraded the vid quality, so I edited out parts that were less relevant to understanding the massacre, and the story of this one child survivor.
Translator's notes:
-> Chaim'keh is the affectionate diminutive for Chaim, Mira'leh is the same for Miri.
-> In another interview, Miri shared that the reason her dad was taking them to Eilat, was because he wanted them to move to Israel's most southern city, meaning he felt Chana and the kids should see it.
-> This is the Ma'ale Akrabim road, you can see how serpentine it is, and the bus was driving uphill, explaining why it had to slow down so much that it became a perfect target for the terrorists.
Tumblr media
-> 'Confirmation of killing' is a military term, referring to any situation where after shots have been fired at someone, the shooter comes closer and shoots (or wounds) again, from a much smaller distance, to make sure the victim is indeed dead, and not just wounded.
-> Chaim was shot in the head point blank, but somehow he technically survived. However, he was left in a coma for the next 32 years, before passing away and becoming the final murdered victim of this massacre.
-> Excluding Chaim, but including Miri, 5 people survived the Ma'ale Akrabim massacre.
-> Ha'Shomer Ha'Tzair (Hebrew for: the young guardian) is the first Zionist youth movement, established in 1913. It's also a socialist one.
-> A chuppah is a canopy under which Jewish couples get married.
-> Sayeret Matkal is an elite Israeli unit, whose most well known operation is the 1976 IDF rescue of Israeli and Jewish hostages (all the non-Jewish hostages were released, other than the French air crew of the hijacked Air France airplane, because the Captain refused to leave the Israeli and Jewish hostages on their own. The kidnappers were 2 German terrorists and 2 Arab ones who were members of a Palestinian terrorist organization. The Israeli and Jewish hostages were held in an airport in Entebbe, capital of Uganda, that the terrorists believed the IDF couldn't reach, since the distance was greater than Israel's airplanes could fly to and back, and passed over enemy territory. Several movies have been made about the operation, including an Israeli one, which was nominated for an Oscar, for best foreign film, in 1977).
-> Z"l is the English transcription of the Hebrew abbreviation ז"ל, which stands for may his/her/their memory be a blessing.

Things will get better, even if they're weighing you down right now. Everything will work out, even if you don't know how right now. The light will come, even if all you see is darkness right now.
Because Allah promised you twice:

ZIONIST COLONIAL SETTLERS ATTACK PALESTINIANS IN AL-MUGHAYIR IN THE OCCUPIED WEST BANK
📹 Several casualties have been reported in the attack of Zionist colonial settlers against Palestinian families in the village of Al-Mughayir, located in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governate, northeast of Ramallah and southeast of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank on Friday.
Earlier in the day, several armed Israeli colonists also stormed Palestinian lands on Al-Ma'rajat Road, northwest of Jericho, while Zionist settler colonists also raided Palestinian agricultural lands in the village of Fasayel in the north.
According to reports, armed Israeli colonial settlers from the illegal colony of Ma'ale Efrayim raided Palestinian agricultural lands north of Jericho, while Israeli colonial settlers also hurled stones at passing Palestinian vehicles on the Ramallah-Jericho road.

Belajar

As part of the second stage of the “prisoner exchange” deal, 39-year-old Israa Jaabis, sentenced to 11 years in prison for the terrorist attack near Maale Adumim in 2015, returned to the Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabl Mukabr.
On October 11, 2015, near the HaZaim checkpoint, near Ma'ale Adumim, Israa Jaabis detonated an explosive device made from gas cylinders when her car was stopped by an Israeli police officer. As a result of the explosion, the policeman suffered burns to his face and chest. Jaabis herself was seriously wounded but survived. The Bureau of Prisons paid for two surgeries to reconstruct her hands.
She's basically did this to herself.

I think what’s tough most of all is someone pretending or just saying that they Love and miss you. They don’t actually mean it. They want you to prove it over and over again while they continue to devalue your love and demean the life that you lead. While putting no efforts in whatsoever. It’s an endless game that they play but that your supposed to feel content with.
I am so sorry that you are finding yourself in that situation. You deserve better than that. You deserve a love where you feel safe and content, not something that is build off lies and drains your energy. No one deserves to be treated that way.
I wish you so much love and healing. May Allah swt. grant you jannatoul firdaus and may He reward you abundantly for your sabr, Allahuma ameen.
And always remember:
فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا
Fa inna ma'al usri yusra, inna ma'al usri yusra.
"So verily, with every hardship, there is relief. Verily, with every hardship, there is relief." [94:5-6]

Life feels better when lived under the folds of Islam. There's so much peace in letting things go for the sake of Allah. Islam isn't a set of rules, it's the way of life. My heart literally blooms every time I'm out of classes after uni, knowing I'm doing my best and Allah's watching me and most importantly Allah's always there to help me.
Allah gave righteous friends to some of us, the rest remain battling strangeness all on their own. Both are a blessing. I believe every hardship dealt with patience is compensated with a lot of peace and ease. (Fa Inna ma'al yusri yusraa)
Let your heart taste the sweetness of life and allow yourself to cherish Allah's blessings and all that is allowed. Convince yourself.. wrong is wrong and cannot be changed. Accept it and change yourself, there's a lot of peace in letting go and in patience 💗💗💗
