Pleased to say that I ran an errand yesterday IN LACE-UP SNEAKERS! I had a more uneven/limping gait and relied on my crutch more than is typical for me, but I completed the entire errand.
Backstory: Following the surgery to fix my exploded foot bones I developed CRPS stemming from the surgical site. Ever since then I haven't been able to tolerate much of anything coming in contact with the top of my foot, exactly where shoes lace or buckle. So I've been living in ballet flats for the past three years, even in the snow.
I've been working on being able to wear closed shoes in my physical therapy sessions for the past year, and practicing wearing them (in progression from unlace to loosely laced) for about three months, so yesterday I decided to challenge myself and go out in them- and I did pretty OK
