Series Masterlist
Pairing: High School! College! Leon Kennedy x Dancer! Fem! Reader
Summary: You’re a bored, but ambitious high school student who can’t wait to escape small town life and make it in the big city. You thought you had it all figured out, until you unwittingly befriend the resident golden boy, Leon. A series of events beginning from junior year to college until Resident Evil 2 Remake.
Warnings: 18+ Swearing, Recreational Drug Use, Eventual Smut, No (Y/N), Ambiguous/Open Ending
Content: High School AU, College AU, Pre-Resident Evil 2, Fluff, Romance, Cliche, Friends to Lovers, Hurt/Comfort, Angst, Lack of Communication
Author's Note: Cliché alert and mostly fluff in this chapter! There’s been a mini time skip, but I wanted to show that Reader x Leon became fast friends in the meantime and are relatively comfortable with each other. I made Leon a lot cheekier this round, but I feel like he uses mischief to mask his true feelings.

Chapter 2: More Than Meets the Eye
The first couple of weeks of the new term had already flown by and managing your tight schedule of school work, actual work, dance and cheer practice left you with literally no time for anything else. Sighing as you yanked open your locker to retrieve your school books, a familiar figure popped up at your side, slouching against the metallic compartments with a loud thud.
Without even turning your head in its direction, you already knew who it was. “Hey, loser,” you called out, smiling inside.
“Hey, yourself,” came his gruff reply.
As you finally faced the culprit, you and Leon laughed at each other’s greetings.
“So, since it’s a Friday, wanna hang out and watch something tonight?”
Both of you had been almost inseparable until school started, and that’s when you guiltily kept postponing your regular meetups in favor of working on your future goals.
“Uh… I don’t think I can.” You rubbed the back of your neck sheepishly. “I seriously need to get some studying time in and I have cheer practice after school.”
“What was that again?” He put a hand to his ear, listening for something non-existent and pausing for dramatic effect. “All I heard were excuses.”
“Hey-”
“Come on, relax.” Placing his hand on your shoulder, he gave it a tiny squeeze. “School’s only just started. You’re gonna burn out if you keep going like this.”
“Leon…” It came out a lot whinier than you intended.
His eyes widened as you caught a brief glimpse of something devilish in them. You knew it was too late to stop the bullshit that would come out of that filthy mouth any second now.
“Mm, say it like that again.” Ah, there it is.
Groaning internally, you smacked his hand off your shoulder playfully. “Ugh, you know there’s no way-”
You turned your head around, checking behind you before lowering your voice. “-I’ll ever get outta here, if I don’t push myself from the start.”
He straightened up a little as he considered your words. “You hate this place that much, huh?”
“You think?” It came out almost as a whisper.
“Shame,” he muttered. “Well, tell you what,” he glanced quickly to the side before looking back at you. “Since you’re so damn keen on this study session, we could do that and then grab some burgers after. Maybe even a movie. How’s that sound?” He puffed his chest and looked almost victorious, as though he knew it was an offer you couldn’t back out of.
Fuck Leon and his persistence. “Yeah, fine,” you grumbled as you shut your locker in defeat.
Once again, that smug grin flashed across his face. “Great, so uh, see you at 5?”
“Mm hm, library,” you nodded reluctantly.
“By the way, your girl gang is here,” he motioned with his head in the direction behind you. “Guess that’s my cue to leave.” Before you could respond, he had already walked ten paces away.
Nobody likes gossip. Ever since you had started hanging out with Leon, people talked and they assumed many things. How far the rumors reached, you didn’t know, but you didn’t want to ruin things between the two of you. You cursed small town gossip under your breath. This was probably one of the few genuine friendships you had, so you tried to keep things as lowkey as possible. Thankfully, Leon agreed to play along. For now.
You tightened your grip on your books as you spun around, plastering a bright smile across your face as you greeted your teammates, who were still sporting tans from their holidays and bubbly chatting with each other.
“Hey, babe,” Kayla, the cheer captain, moved in to give you a quick hug. You caught a whiff of her tropical-scented, coconut vanilla perfume. “So where did your boy run off to?” She winked, giving you a side smile. The other girls around her immediately broke out in hushed whispers.
There wasn’t anything malicious about her question. In fact, your teammates were nice enough, but they could be rather superficial and nosey. You tried to downplay it with a look of confusion in your eyes, shaking your head as you remarked, “He’s just a study partner, Kayla.”
Some giggles broke out and your ears burned. Great, they didn’t buy that a single bit. Defending yourself would just raise more suspicion, so you unhappily resigned yourself to the fact that you were probably doomed for the rest of the term.
“Yeah, whatever.” Kayla waved her hand dismissively. “Was about time anyway, and he’s quite the catch.” She licked her lips suggestively, but quickly added, “Not as good as mine though.” Of course, her obnoxious football boyfriend. You tried to hide your grimace.
Flipping her shiny, raven-colored locks, she continued, “Still, very cute. I approve.”
Your mouth ran dry. Why couldn’t they just mind their own business? You swallowed your anger as you tried to change the subject. “Um, cheer practice at 3, right?”
She snickered, seeing right through your act. “Yeah, same as always.” She turned to leave, wiggling her fingers as a form of goodbye. “Oh, and you’re leading warm-ups today. Ciao, babe.”
You could hear audible groans coming from the rest of the team as they trudged off with Kayla. They definitely weren’t looking forward to your intense warm-up session, but to you, warmer bodies meant lesser injury risk and better preparation for stunts and routines. Pursing your lips at the less-than-ideal conversation you just had, you tried to shove it to the back of your mind as you hurried off to class.
━━━━━━━━━━━
As you flung open the double doors leading to the school’s indoor gym, you were greeted by the unfamiliar sight of another group you didn’t exactly recognize next to your cheer team. It seemed like Kayla was speaking to their coach, as she nodded a bit too enthusiastically - a nervous habit she displayed when she was irritated but didn’t want to show it. Slowly, you inched closer to listen in on their conversation.
“There must have been a double booking-”
“I’ll sort this out with the admin right now,” Kayla offered.
“It’s just going to eat into practice time. Anyway, this lot won’t need much space today. Functional training.” He sucked his teeth and gestured towards the group. That’s when you spotted Leon, sitting at the side with his arms across his lap, chatting merrily with another girl on his team.
Just my luck, you sighed, folding your arms as the coach continued, “I’m sure you girls won’t mind sharing?”
You saw Kayla clenching and unclenching her fists as she hesitantly agreed to the proposal. With that, she spun around and called out shrilly, “Ladies! We’ve gotta share the space. We’re taking this half.” She drew an imaginary line with her arms as if to stake her claim, before brushing past you seething, “They always think they can sideline us, like we’re not important.”
At this point, Leon made eye contact and waved over. The girl beside him suppressed a laugh and you weren’t sure whether she was embarrassed or making fun of you. Furrowing your brows, you gave a hasty, lopsided smile before heading over to your side of the gym, making a mental note to question Leon about that exchange later.
Wasting no time for further pleasantries, you proceeded to blast your high-energy mixtape on the cassette player as loudly as possible, secretly smirking as you heard the coach swear under his breath at the intrusion.
“Ok, everyone! Let’s get those heart rates up!” You hollered, running through the exercises as they copied you dutifully, breaking out in a sweat and panting furiously.
Your eyes filtered through the crowd, checking for anything they could improve on, as you continued calling out prompts. “You can lift your legs higher than that!” Hm, that sounded rather… You ignored that prickly feeling at the back of your throat and continued, “Face up, not to the floor!”
When it came to the stretching section and the music toned down, you suddenly heard the unmistakable yell of a reprimand being given from the other end of the room. “Kennedy! You can stare at girls after training!”
Wait, what? Your head darted in the direction of the bellowing. Sure enough, you saw the coach glaring at Leon, who seemed pretty flustered as he denied the accusations with a feeble “I wasn’t!”, which was met with roars of laughter.
Really, Leon? Getting distracted by a bunch of cheerleaders? You were oblivious to what actually happened there and decided to pay no more attention to it. Instead, it was time to go through the routine and fortunately you were relatively decent at compartmentalizing.
“Alright, a few things I wanted to point out,” you began. “This part’s looking good, but it would start off even more amazing, if you frame your body like this.” Adjusting your shoulders with your arms slightly back, profile tilted a smidge upwards, you angled yourself in a semi-diagonal position, shifting your weight towards one leg as you lengthened the other for the prep stance. The other cheerleaders shuffled around, attempting to imitate what you showed.
Kayla motioned for you to demonstrate the full sequence before she took over and you obliged. “Ok, watch me.” You danced through the routine dynamically, hitting all the accents and flowing through the softer parts more sensually. Whipping your hair around as you transitioned from a body wave into a hip roll, you swung the pom poms above your head at the same time and trailed them across your body.
It all seemed to happen in a haze, but after coming out of the next spin, you somehow ended up holding a gaze with those same piercing blue eyes that had caused you so much trouble today. They widened and flickered, but didn’t break away for what felt like an eternity, until-
“Leon Scott Kennedy! I swear to god!”
Uh oh.
“You either train, or you can leave!”
Leon’s cheeks flushed bright red as he bit his lip, stammering, “Sorry coach, won’t happen again.”
You’d never seen Leon get this unnerved, which concerned you. He emanated a natural sense of confidence and was usually laid-back to the point where nothing could ruffle him. In any case, you were also sure as hell everyone heard and saw that commotion, especially since a number of students were now looking between him and you, mumbling to each other.
Nothing could beat the relief you felt when Kayla took over your position, as you stepped away from the center to join the rest of your team. Just when you thought you were in the clear, one of your teammates scooted over to you, whispering seductively in your ear, “Ooh he definitely enjoyed the show you put on.”
━━━━━━━━━━━
The minute practice ended, you bolted straight for the restroom, just so you didn’t have to deal with anyone else for the time being. Hiding in one of the cubicles for a good 10 minutes until you could hear the last footsteps trickle out of the hallway, you unlocked the door and stumbled over to the wash basin, splashing cold water on your face. Checking yourself one last time in the mirror to make sure you looked presentable, you inhaled a deep breath before exiting and making your way towards the library.
From afar, you could see Leon waiting patiently outside of it, as though he fully trusted that you would still show up after that little stunt he pulled earlier. Walking gingerly towards him, you cleared your throat.
“Oh, hey. So… what’re we studying today?” He asked casually, while browsing through his pile of books, as if nothing had happened.
“Math. Definitely Math,” you concluded, also pretending to ignore the white elephant in the room. “If that’s ok with you?”
“Sure, I suck at it. So why not?”
The study session went by rather sluggishly and uneventfully, with both of you going through equations after equations and figuring out the logic together. It was a wonder you could concentrate at all with the events of the day playing back in your mind like a broken record.
You were thankful for Leon’s earlier suggestion of burgers when it was time to pack up to leave. He gave you a knowing smile when your stomach growled and you placed a hand over your belly instinctively, as you cast back a self-conscious glance. It seemed like he had thought of everything again, where you often had trouble remembering your own basic needs when you were lost in your schoolwork.
Both of you plopped down on the cushy, retro red seats opposite each other in a booth at the only diner in town, getting in your orders as quickly as possible. You suspected that he was just as famished as you, but trying his best not to show it. During the waiting time, the two of you caught up with and exchanged news on all the goings-on of the past weeks.
When your orders finally arrived, you snatched up your burger, devouring large chunks of it, while Leon looked on amused as he bit into his.
“Wuhhff?” You managed to cough out with your mouth stuffed with food.
Almost instantly, he mimicked your reaction, resulting in a fry being thrown in his direction, as he ducked to avoid it while snickering.
“Here, you got some sauce on your chin.” He reached out with a paper napkin, gently wiping it away, as his bright blue eyes bore into yours. That prickly sensation you felt earlier in the school gym started to bloom again, as you squeezed your eyes shut and cleared your throat. “Is it gone now?”
“Uh… y-yeah.”
Fluttering your eyes open, you caught sight of him looking down at his plate, suddenly completely engrossed with his meal, as he chucked the used napkin to the side. You were quite certain you spotted a pink tinge dusting his cheeks while he slowly chewed his food.
The table grew silent as you muttered a quick, “Thanks.”
Giving it a few minutes before you attempted any form of conversation, you casually decided to bring up the topic you had both been avoiding till now.
“So…” you breathed, testing the waters.
“So…?” Leon questioned, raising an eyebrow, still munching the last bits of his burger.
“At the gym. What was that all about?” You picked at your fries nervously, as you felt a rush of adrenaline coursing through your body in anticipation of an answer.
“What do you mean?”
Ugh. He’s deflecting again. But you weren’t about to let this go so easily. “Don’t play dumb, Kennedy.”
Leon paused, and you could see the wheels turning in his head as he considered his words carefully. It only took a moment for his face to light up as if he hit the jackpot. “I got distracted, that’s all.” His signature smirk broke out across his lips, before adding, “By you.”
The boldness of his answer caught you by surprise, as you choked on your food. Patting your chest, you gulped down some water before sputtering, “Excuse me?”
All at once, he was back to his usual, composed self, as he remarked, “You dance really well. Can’t I admire that?”
“Um… y-yeah, I guess.” You weren’t sure how to respond. Coming from a background where dance teachers often gave you tough love and criticisms in an effort to spur you on, you never really learnt how to accept compliments.
“A ‘thanks’ would be nice.”
Clenching your jaw, you wished you could wipe that stupid smirk off his face. Trying to approach it from a different angle, you blurted out, “But, people talk.”
Leaning back against his seat and placing his hands behind his head, Leon seemed unfazed. “So let them talk.” Noticing your frown, he continued, “What’s wrong if they think we’re dating? Am I really that bad to be with?” He mentioned it as if it was the most normal thing to say in conversation between two friends, and the worst thing was that you didn’t know how to counter that.
“No, you’re gre-,” you quickly corrected yourself. “I mean, you’re fine.” Sighing, you explained, “I just don’t want things to be awkward between us.”
His gaze softened as he reassured you, “It won’t, trust me.”
Since he was that calm about it, you decided not to pursue it any further. Maybe you were thinking too much into things. However, another question popped up in your mind. “Who was the girl you were speaking with back there?”
He propped himself up again, a little taken aback by the quick change of topic. “Oh, you mean Val? Yeah, we sometimes participate in relays together. She can be a real handful though.”
“She seemed to find me amusing,” you pointed out.
“Really? I didn’t notice,” he shrugged and scoffed down the remainder of his fries. You searched his eyes to detect if he was messing with you, but couldn’t find anything of the sort. “I told her about you.”
Well, that explains it. Crossing your arms, you prepared to release an earful until you were interrupted by the grinning idiot in front of you. “Do I even want to know-”
“I said…” He drifted off, taking his time to sip his soda, leaving you hanging on purpose. You subconsciously leaned in closer as your patience started to wear thin. He lowered his voice, presumably to utter something serious. “You’re the coolest kid I met over summer.”
“You’re such a dork!” You exclaimed, as you punched his arm lightly from across where you sat.
“Ouch! And here I am baring my soul to you.” He rubbed his arm melodramatically and feigned a hurt expression on his face, which only served to encourage you to taunt and play fight with him further.
Sometimes he could be so infuriating. But funnily enough, that was part of what drew you to him in the first place.
━━━━━━━━━━━
It turned out that Leon had rented some VHS tapes from Blockbuster, so you had the choice of either heading to the local cinema for a late night screening or watching a movie from the comfort of his home. Naturally, you picked the latter. Going to the cinema together would seem too “date night”-like and you had endured more than enough gossip that day to last a lifetime.
You greeted his parents as they kindly let you and Leon hog the living room TV. Before heading upstairs to their bedroom, they gave a half-hearted reminder not to stay up too late, that they knew would go unheeded. They were friendly and way more relaxed than your parents, so much so you preferred hanging out at Leon’s place over yours.
After making some hot chocolate, you settled onto the couch as Leon popped the tape into the video player. Relaxing into the cozy atmosphere, you hugged the warm blanket he offered you and savored the steaming drink between your hands.
Unfortunately, the day’s events probably caught up to you, as your eyelids grew heavier as time went by and you were fighting a losing battle to keep them open. At some point, you must have drifted off to sleep and then accidentally used Leon as a makeshift pillow. He swallowed thickly, as you curled up beside him, resting your head against his shoulder and nuzzling his neck, completely unaware. His heart was pounding so hard in his chest that he was afraid he would wake you. Something made him instinctively wrap his arm around you, even though his mind was screaming to do the exact opposite. This is just gonna make things worse, he sighed, but he didn’t feel the urge to remove it and maybe he could get away without you knowing. So he let you sleep soundly until the credits ran.
“Hey.” He called out softly, as you stirred. “The movie’s over now.”
Blinking groggily, your vision was still blurry as you tried to make out where you were. You weren’t sure if you felt an arm around you or just the back of the couch, as you rubbed your eyes.
“You fell asleep,” he explained, as he let you go and tried to shift away from you as stealthily as possible, hoping you wouldn’t recall the previous position you were in.
“Hm?” You stretched your arms out, yawning lazily as you scratched your head. “Uh, what time is it?”
“Just past midnight.”
You jerked upwards, startled. “Shit, so late? Your face swung in his direction. “You didn’t wake me?”
He bit his bottom lip, eyeing you apologetically. “You looked like you needed the rest. I didn’t want to disturb you.”
You buried your face into the bunched up blanket on top of your knees, groaning, “Ugh, my parents are going to kill me.”
That drew a faint laugh from him. “Don’t worry, I took care of it.”
You turned towards him with a puzzled look.
“I called them before-” he stopped himself abruptly, as you noticed him tense up.
“Before what?” You questioned out of confusion.
“Nothing.” He shifted uncomfortably in his seat and refused to meet your gaze.
You narrowed your eyes at him, trying to figure out if something out of the ordinary had happened. It started off as a vague recollection of falling asleep, maybe leaning against something and the smell of fresh citrus and musk… which smells exactly like- Oh god, no. Your stomach dropped. The realization that you had snuggled with Leon in your sleep dawned on you and your head was whirling.
At this point, Leon knew you had worked out what happened, so he did the only thing he could do in such a situation. “Man, you were heavy.”
That snapped you out of it and earned him a slap to his chest. “It was a joke, jeez!” He raised both hands up in defense and quickly moved to a different topic, “Anyway, as I was saying, your parents told me to walk you home when you woke up.”
“Oh… thanks,” you shook your head and sighed. “Sorry to put you through the trouble.”
He waved it off. “It’s really no big deal. I’m just glad I finally got to hang out with you again.”
“Yeah, me too,” you admitted. “This was nice.”
As you got up from the couch to prepare to leave, it seemed like Leon had another idea. Grabbing your wrist, he coaxed, “And?”
You knew what he meant and nodded in agreement. “And… I promise I’ll make time for this in the future.” A random thought flashed across your mind as you grinned cheekily. You had to get him back after all his teasing. “How about…”
“I’m listening,” he mentioned with a hint of suspicion in his voice.
“...we meet for more study sessions?”
It was his turn to groan, as you giggled uncontrollably. “That’s such a cop-out!” He responded accusingly.
Placing your hands on his shoulders and bending down to meet him at eye level, you pleaded, “Come on, we could do something fun after too?”
Rolling his eyes, he rebutted, “You’re kinda driving a hard bargain here.”
You weren’t ashamed to play dirty though, so you turned on the best doe eyes you could muster, and insisted, “Please?” You knew he was a lost cause now.
“Damn it, that’s not fair,” he grumbled, though he eventually gave in. “Ok fine, but only if fun’s a guarantee.”
“Deal.” With that, you took his hand in yours, giving it a firm handshake.

Baby on board: A wish is made
I’ve never been much of a writer, but I suppose a bit of explanation would be appropriate. If I don’t write all of this down, I’m afraid it will simply fade into oblivion…
These past days seemed they would be as ordinary as ever: Stay at the base, practice, etc. But nothing is ever as it seems… At midnight last night, Nightmare, through a series of visions, explained why I am… the way I am… an experiment… a project…
At an early age I was captured and mutated by him… to be used as one of his pawns. Although I was returned with minor changes, he followed me, watched me grow.
I was disgusted.
And little did I know, my living existence would be our downfall. Shortly after this discovery, I blamed it on my father, all of this, because he couldn’t protect me. I left our base outraged, only to be immediately ambushed. And upon return, I found that our base was destroyed… and everyone was gone. My… family was nowhere to be found.
I was alone.
I fled the planet on a barely functioning ship, and found a more peaceful, blissful planet nearby, stationing myself in a small village, Cappytown.
And here I am. I’m lucky to have lived but… truthfully, I don’t know how things could get better. Maybe… somehow..
I’ll write if something happens.

It’s time for a DylanZeIntroduction!
I’ve already posted one of these before, but that was closing in on a full year ago, so it’s very old, very shitty, very outdated. Let me start again:
Hi, I’m DylanZeMuffin, but I prefer to just be called Dylan! There are many things to go over, so I’ll just list them in an organized manner…
I’m 16yo. That means I’m a minor, and I don’t want to see NSFW, nor do I want to hear anything more than sex jokes. I love sex jokes & dark humor, sure, but let's hope you can realize when enough has been enough.
I go by He/Him pronouns.
I am a learning, (mostly) self-taught artist, and a (pretty much entirely) self-taught voice actor! While I’m proud of my art, I am mostly known for my voice acting as I am THE OFFICIAL VOICE ACTOR OF 2011 SONIC.EXE FROM JOEDOUGHBOI’S 2023 REMAKE OF THE ORIGINAL FANGAME.
I love my girlfriend!!!
I barely use Tumblr. These past few recent posts plus this one have all been over maybe two hours as I am just now remembering this site exists after about a month of total inactivity. If you’d like to keep up with my content, such as my art, voice acting, and general commentary, the best place to do that is Twitter. If you don’t wanna step foot on Twitter (understandable), YouTube is also an option. My username is simply ‘DylanZeMuffin’ on both websites.
I am a HUUUGGEE fan of Five Nights at Freddy’s! It’s practically what I grew up with when I was younger, and it still is to this day, to be honest. A few other special interests of mine would include Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic.exe, & FNF. Yippie!
If you’d like to contact me for anything potentially important, my Discord tag is also, simply, ‘dylanzemuffin’
That’s mostly it for random trivia facts, now here are a few examples of my works, both art & voice acting!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Don't take this piece of VA work seriously please, lmao. I put it together in the span of like 30 minutes like a month back as an inside joke within a Friday Night Funkin' dev server.
Alright, thanks for taking the time to read through my flurry of bullshit! Bye!!!

Coffee Shop
A03 Request: Vinny and Tim meet each other at a coffee shop and find each other cute
Back to main Contents || Back to One-shot Contents
Vinny rarely found time for himself where he didn’t feel like HABIT would leap out with some mocking words or some vague direction to point him in saying things would get better. But the coffee shop in town was nice. Peaceful. He could sit at one of the little tables and watch people go about their lives oblivious to the monsters lurking out there. How lucky they were…
Things changed a few days ago. A new guy had been behind the counter with ‘Tim’ written on his nametag. Vinny couldn’t pinpoint what it was about the dark haired man but he found his gaze slipping from the laptop he pretended to work on or the coffee his sipped at to simply stare at the short man while he worked, always quick to look away when dark eyes darted his way as if Tim could sense the stares.
Today was starting out much like the past couple days had been. He ordered and found his usual table, pulled out his laptop, and began people-watching while scrolling every now and then through various notes about the mess HABIT had created of his life. Eyes drifted from the teens laughing over something on their screens to the counter where Tim usually stood to see… He was gone?
“Oh.” Disappointment went through him. Maybe he’d gone on break and would come back later.
“Looking for someone?” Tim’s voice had already become all too recognizable and when he spoke right next to him Vinny visibly jumped.
“Oh, uh, no. Just spacing out I guess.”
Brown eyes bore into him and Tim sat Vinny’s order on the table before leaning on the flat surface. He could see right through that lie. “You’ve been watching me. Who are you?”
Vinny knew well enough what paranoia sounded like. Who was Tim? Besides even more handsome up close apparently. He was glad his beard helped hide the blush on his cheeks.
“Vinny. I just… I come here for coffee a lot.” Not a complete lie and the other employees could back up that without hesitation.
“And?” Tim slid into the seat next to him, eyes never breaking contact.
Heat warmed his cheeks and ear tips. “And I might’ve noticed you’re new here… and that you’re cute, and stared a few times.”
He’d say he wanted to be anywhere but here confessing he's practically been spying on a cute guy, to the cute guy, but he would prefer this for eternity than whatever diabolical scheme HABIT was probably cooking up. Vinny stared at the screen as prismatic screensaver bubbles floated across the otherwise black screen. This guy was going to think he was a complete weirdo and he’d have to find another coffee shop to lurk in.
Tim chuckled next to him. One of relief that momentarily made Vinny wonder what he’d thought the answer would be.
“Sorry.” Tim apologized, settling more comfortably in the seat and staring at him with dark eyes that had melted of most suspicion. “I’m new in town… Had some bad history with stalking before so… Can’t be too careful. Name’s Tim but, uh, you probably knew that with the nametag and everything, huh?”
History of stalking… Instinctively Vinny’s mind began to trail back to the early years when he and his friends had been making a joke health channel only for things to actually start stalking and killing them. Surely not… No. Tim? Tim, the man he’d just met. What were the chances?
“Didn’t mean to freak you out, I’m not great at spontaneously asking someone out.” The last time he’d dated anyone, they died. Not that he could just say that, but it was a good reminder of why he might not want Tim too close. “Admire him from a distance. Keep him safe.”
“It’s fine.” Tim fiddled with Vinny’s cup, teeth biting his lip for a moment in thought. “I’ll make you a new one, on me. Didn’t mean to let it get cold.”
And just like that, Tim left his side. Somehow, the air around the table felt colder than the drink probably got after only a few minutes. Vinny watched him remake the order. Had he scared the man off? “Should’ve just… tried to say anything else.”
Barely a minute later and Tim returned with a new drink, steam rising from the hole in the lid. “I have to get back to work but I get off at six. Usually take my breaks at one, for future reference.”
Vinny couldn’t open his mouth to respond fast enough before Tim was walking away again. Did Tim actually like him back? Confusion ran through him as he spotted Tim staring at him and making a turning motion. He pulled the cup closer and turned it, eyes widening as his heart skipped a beat. A phone number. Tim’s phone number.
His gaze sought Tim’s again and he swore the man winked as he ran a hand through his hair while turning to respond to his coworker. Vinny couldn’t believe his luck actually turned out good.
“Just don’t let HABIT find out.” He felt giddy despite the risk he was about to take by letting Tim get close. “Tim actually likes me back!”

Everytime I learn more of the Crypters
I just…man… I really don’t like them.
as individuals it’s really great learning who they are as people but when you get down to their motivations and their whole plan on the Lostbelts. It just sounds so so stupid and so….nonsensical? I’m only on Lb2 so maybe things will change.
I just don’t understand the point of ‘remaking the Age of Gods’. In the standpoint as a magus I would understand—Age of Gods means actual magic and not just imitation. Real magic where everyone can get a shot at divine mysteries etc.
but we’re talking HUMANITY as in humans, absolutely little to nothing to do with magi as far as I know.
And then Wodime’s whole declaration to Skadi was so stupid. He’s going to help the gods because humans did them wrong? So the gods can reign even now? Like I hope, I really, really hope this is a bad joke and he’s just manipulating them because this is the WORSE take I have ever heard. Because if this is real, please do your research, Wodime. The gods have always done the humans wrong….it’s practically in every myth…
Caenis is literal proof of that right there. Wodime’s own damn servant… Caenis was wronged by Poseidon, raped in a lot of variations for like no reason besides being beautiful or something, and Poseidon being ‘oh I’m a god yo ho-ho I can do whatever I want. But hey pretty lady I’ll give you ANYTHING you want so long as you let me f you with or without permission’ and then Caenis went after the traumatic experience ‘f you. Make me a man so I don’t have to go through that pain and shame of being with YOU or any other god again’. And freakin Wodime has the gull to be ‘humans did gods wrong’.
And that’s just one example in Greek. Greek (lol Wodime’s own dam Lostbelt) has soooo many more (in Percy Jackson they touch upon how the heroes aren’t all that because most of them went through hell because of the gods—it’s like Madoka Magica. ‘Oh you want to be a hero? Here, go through torture, killing your own family or having some jealous god cursing you or your spouse to do something else etc etc’.
I feel like the significance of Tiamat in Singularity 7 is important. Humanity broke away from the primordial mother for a reason and in the same way, soon let go of the gods and having that as a final singularity was amazing. Then we go full circle to the Crypters and then trying to undo that whole lesson.
There’s got to be more than this I hope.
And then just the state of LB1 and LB2 is so stupid. What’s the point of having these lostbelts when they’re so hopelessly devoid of…life? What’s the point of being human and making ‘my Lostbelt the winner in our dumb self-made consensual Cold War turn civil war’ if all you’re doing is stripping YOUR own people’s ability to be free? To be full of life that YOU went through and removing that completely…
I don’t know but I’m with Goetia honestly. His plan to annihilate humanity made more sense. He didn’t hate it. He just didn’t want people to suffer, and hey, it’s messed up but what way to avoid suffering of all of humanity then to kill it?

ok i’ve collected my thoughts on evil dead rise so under the cut i will share them hehe!! THERE R SPOILERS UNDER HERE!!! i talk abt what i liked and didn’t like and i talk specifically abt scenes!!!! if y’all wanna talk to me abt it more feel free to send me an ask, i’m abt to nap cus of cramps but i will answer them when i’m up <3 lmk if u agree or not and what ur fave scenes were!!!
so
i didn’t hate it! i’d say overrall this is a high three or a very low 4, but i don’t think i’ll be rewatching this any time soon :/ i def prefer the 2013 remake but this was still enjoyable and i had a good time watching it!!!
i think the problem i had was i had seen the trailers (which were all clips basically? at least the official ones i found on tik tok were clips from the movie) and had spoiled major moments of it for myself. normally i’m okay with and love spoilers but i think i would’ve enjoyed this one in particular more if the few scenes had been a surprise to me!!
things i loved: ELLIE!!!! holy shit, i truly think she stole the show. the difference in her as human vs as a deadite was so cool, i loved her mommy shtick she kept through out, and i think she was so eerie (i legit had a nightmare abt her killing me a few days ago before i had even watched the movie and that never happens) so!!!! i also liked the story and the change of setting, it being in an apartment and confined on that one floor (for the most part) was so interesting and i loved the difference in the book of the dead from the other movies AND the vinyl!!!! the gore was top notch and i saw lots of practical effects which will always make a movie at least 2 stars for me!! also the girl who played kassie was good AND she did her own stunt for the elevator scene which was so cool hehe. i liked the more subtle call backs to the past movies in the franchise more than the overt ones!!
i rlly liked the scenes of ellie in the hallway through the peephole and how there was blood dripping over it!!! i I LOVED THE SCENE WHERE ELLIE IS LAYING OK THE GROUND AND BRIDGET AND DANNY CRY OVER HER BODY BEFORE LAUGHING. it was such a good scene omg!!!! also the scene of bridget under the sheet floating down the hallway following danny and kassie GODDDDD!!!! and not to praise deadite ellie again but the way she moves was so cool hehe, i rlly liked how subtly off they all walked and how it felt like they were getting used to being in a body again!!!
i also loved the opening title card scene after the girl falls into the water!!!! seeing her rise up in a blasphemous way along w the title card and have it reflect in the water OH it was so good!!! and the scene where the girl is talking and saying the line of the book the other one is reading made me go 😦😦 so!!!
also im also glad they didn’t include a tree scene, but they payed homage w the elevator wires. that scene was unnecessary in the first movies and is one of my least fave parts of the franchise (especially with how Certain Fans treat it) so i’m glad they didn’t include it LMFAO
things i didn’t like: most of the acting 😔 i feel bad knocking the actors bc obviously i’m not one and idk how difficult it is, but the acting from the non-deadites really fell flat for me most of the time :/ the main girl, beth, was so close to mia in looks and attitude it just kept making me think of her which wasn’t good bc i prefer mia LMFAO 😔 the acting from bridget was rlly where i found the movie lacking though :/ some of the shots were def not my type of directing style but i know they’re all call backs to the franchise so i cant knock them too bad but the weird split screen stuff that happened (only 2 times???) was enough for me to text my friend and go “ew” LMAO. i also hated how under utilized the other characters were! the old man, the young guy who maybe had a thing with ellie, the 2 kids. it was rlly obvious they were there to boost the body count to me which sucked :(
also side note beth’s acting rlly annoyed me towards the end especially in the garage with the close ups of her face and her lip twitching but JDNWKDNWJ again thags a personal thing so i’m choosing to ignore it when i rate the movie
the baby stuff w beth was annoying as was the groupie thing but i think that’s just me so i didn’t count it against them hehe. the scene where all of the deadite are telling beth and kassie “dead by dawn” was so fucking cheesy i couldn’t find it in myself to be even a little unnerved which sucked bc i kind of loved the combining scene but it felt lack luster at the end… some of the character decisions were also so ridiculous and i KNOW it’s a movie but guys. stop leaving ur weapons embedded in them. TAKE THEM EITH YOU. PLEASE. i know it wouldn’t have helped but at the end why r u leaving it up to chance??? i also thought the ending scene was a little meh with her not noticing the blood filled parking lot until after she was in her car? idk and to add to that, the opening scene was kind of :/ but i liked the drone fake out they did

I’m finally starting to figure out how to record gameplay with OBS. It’s very basic though, and I do have some minor frame-y issues - I’m using an Acer laptop, for one, when I need something wayyyy more sophisticated, heavy duty, and expensive. I also made several mistakes - but I can fix those in editing.
While I never could end up doing Scarlet as a live playthrough yet, I will have it as a pre-recorded let’s play - but as it is my very first and I’m a newbie at video, recording, and editing, and there are gonna be tons and I mean TONS of issues I don’t know how to fix, it will probably be unlisted but I will link to it here. As I build my OBS skills (and maybe even streaming skills), I will be able to remake/replay Scarlet and Violet live or pre-recorded and it’ll be smoother with better audio and video! Course, I got a lot of other games to play (and replay) as well. After all, building islands in ACNH is something I’d like to do, and share the progress of. I also hope to replay Undertale (pacifist route only) in September, but I’d better not get too ahead of myself….
What matters is, I’m finally starting. I guess I just needed to get through my winter blues. After the fun of the holiday season, I get sad and unmotivated for two months! That’s why there hasn’t been much Castletown Café recently (and during my favorite times of year - October through December - I’m busy with seasonal activities and holiday-ing. Next fall, I wanna share all kinds of pumpkin recipes because I cook up a storm in my favorite season).
I hope to keep up with that again, though with how I tend to hyperfocus on one thing at a time, well, we’ll see. I hope to make more recipes and share them with you all as well as tread new ground in the world of live gaming, streaming, and Let’s Plays.
Anyway though, I have a question: what Deltarune food do you want to see me do next? Check out the #castletown-cafe tag to see what I’ve already made. I do know I need to start simple as I get back into the swing of things, as well as practice bread and candy. I have a list of all the food (even the cut content), so I’ll look to that for ideas.
Hope to see you all again soon. Stay determined everybody. ❤️

Ajinweek 2022: Day 1, Crossover
I decided to write an Ajin and Levius crossover, partially because they are two of my favorite mangas of all time, but also partially because I think a lot of the characters would get along well, or at least find each other interesting. For simplicity's sake, and because this is for ajinweek, you don't actually need to know any Levius lore or characters to read this. It may make it a little more satisfying, but I think the overall idea is pretty clear.
Word Count: 558
Summary: Izumi has a brief exchange with a familiar stranger.
Izumi groaned as she looked at the line in front of her. How long did Tosaki expect her to wait for a damn cup of coffee…?
She scanned around the room, focusing primarily on the people standing in front of her. It appeared to be a pretty random mix: families, students, business people. One in particular stood out to her; a woman who looked just as exhausted as she felt. She watched the woman’s empty gaze drift over the seemingly endless drink menu.
As the woman was called forward, she stared at the menu for one more moment before sighing in defeat.
“Two black coffees,” she said, apparently overwhelmed by the number of options.
“Name?”
“Alicia.”
The line moved on and Izumi finally managed to order Tosaki’s drink. (Medium size latte, hot, skim milk, as usual). She picked up a scone for herself, because she deserved it after dealing with Tosaki all morning, and went to wait by the counter. To her surprise, the woman from before was still standing there.
“It’s supposed to be a black coffee,” she said, showing one of her drinks to the barista. “It’s practically white. He won’t drink this,” she frowned.
The barista was apologetic, and did go back to remake the drink, but the woman, Alicia, was looking more defeated by the minute.
“Let me guess,” Izumi said, leaning over to her. “For your boss?”
Alicia nodded. “He’s not usually too picky, but if I bring him back a cup of hot milk I’ll be hearing about it for the rest of my life.”
“Tell me about it,” Izumi replied, biting into her snack. “I’m waiting on a drink for mine. Unfortunately, he is picky.”
“I guess most people that warrant having an assistant probably are. In that regard, maybe I’m lucky,” Alicia replied. If she truly believed she was lucky, her expression did not reveal it.
“In that regard? How much of a pain is your boss, exactly?” Izumi asked.
Alicia swirled her own cup of coffee. “It’s complicated,” she admitted. “Can’t live with him, can’t live without him, y’know? Or maybe that’s weird to say about a coworker,” she frowned.
“I’m sure it’s different for you,” Izumi began, “but I think I sort of know what you mean.”
“Medium latte, for Shimomura?” a barista called.
“That’s me,” she reached forward, grabbing the drink. As she prepared to leave, she looked back at Alicia again. “I hope work goes easy on you,” she said.
“You too,” Alicia replied, the smallest hint of a smile appearing on her face for the first time.
As Izumi turned out the door, she reflected on the conversation. Where would she be without Tosaki? Worse off, right? But the sadness in Alicia’s eyes felt all too familiar. She wondered what tied her to her own boss. She hoped it was nothing so complicated or miserable as her deal with Tosaki. Let it be crazy high pay for a shitty job, Izumi thought, knowing it was unlikely.
Although the two never saw each other again, on occasion Izumi thought of the tired woman at the coffee shop. Although they’d shared almost nothing of their lives, she felt that they understood each other, perhaps more than anyone else in her life ever had.
I suppose if that stranger can tolerate a life like this, so can I.

I get emotional over the fact of how quickly Luis changes during the events of RE4 and how I hope that with the remake we get to see more done with his character. The most obvious thing being that we don’t really get to know a lot about him, apart from the pieces of lore scattered throughout the game that Leon can gather which most easily overlook. Apart from that we don’t get to know a lot about him, he never talks to Leon about his motives, backstory, or anything up until his moments before his death. I know they probably wont elaborate on it, but to think that Luis grew up in the village, moved away, came back as a researcher and firsthand created and experienced the terrible tests and things that unfold there, causing him to rebel against Saddler and know that what he’s doing is wrong. He’s the only one to take a stand and try to right his wrongs with the horrible creations he helped create ( like the El Gigante, Regenerator etc. )
For the most part Luis comes across as a morally ambiguous character in my eyes, only looking after himself, his own wants, reaching out to get help from Ada and hopefully granting a ticket out if at all possible and putting an end to what's been going on.  He doesn’t like to think of himself as a hero, doesn’t believe he’s a good guy by any means, but also still has the ability to help those in need, which he will do if it either benefits him, or someone has impacted him to the point of him thinking they are worth helping.  To think that Leon left such a mark on him, that he went from only looking out for himself, to essentially giving his life to someone who is practically a stranger because he knows it's the right thing to do. He could have kept to himself, let Leon do things on his own, even become infected, but he saw the good, the potential in Leon to risk his life time and time again to get the supplies needed to help suppress the parasites in both he and Ashley. The two of them wouldn’t have made it nearly as far as they did without his help and sacrifice.
Yes I know he only has like, 5 minutes of screen time but I’ve always loved his character and don’t think he gets enough credit as a companion like other RE games have. I know some people would argue that Ashley is the companion in this game, which sure, I guess so, but I do have hope that maybe we will get more time to work alongside Luis in more shootout moments and just overall give him a little more screen time to make his death impactful. If not I’ll continue to eat my breadcrumbs like a fat little pigeon and be content just seeing him finally in the HD glory he deserves.

What are Special's favorite movies? Genres or specific films, either way. And how does he like to watch them, i.e in his pajamas, at the theater, with snacks, etc?
”Aaaah, friend, so much as I would adore to try movie snacks like popcorn someday, the fate of a ghoul is such that I can’t taste it. Well, I suppose I could, if I really get my shapeshifting more technically sound… but that would require studying, which is not a favourite of mine… The mouth and tongue I can make now is serviceable enough to create the illusion that I can eat, but, I suppose to a human, it is like chewing on paper. like, yeah, I can put it in my mouth and crunch it up, but I don’t get nothing from it. I also don’t have saliva which I’ve been led to understand is an important component of eating… Ehhh. Someday, maybe Him Below will grant me this power.”
“Anyway! Oh man, I could talk to you for days about movies. Thrillers, uh, horror, obviously! But I also enjoy a documentary now and then, you know, good way to learn shit. Hmm… Old scifis really take on a different feel after I’ve got some catnip in me, though most of the time if I’m watching film I try to stay as, uhhh, sober as possible, at least on the first dozen viewings. I have a love for the older technologies, not due to any sort of dickish snobbery on my part, but I just like the, I think the word is ’aesthetic’ of ’em, the feel of ’em. The fuzziness of a bulky CRT screen, the weight of a VHS in my claws, the soft *shh* of a paper video case or the *ker-chmp* of the plastic clamshell case, on and on. Original cuts, no post-release CGI bullshit. I’ll take a hundred B-grade movies with corn syrup blood and ravioli guts and practical effects over high-gloss, expensive and quickly dated CGI almost any time. I’m not against the CGI, but there’s that feel, again, and I prefer the feeling of practical messiness to the feeling of ’oh this was done by fifty people who were overworked beyond exhaustion and then their company closed and they lost their jobs’ shit, you know? It’s like… I dunno, I just like the movies where, if effects are present, they look and feel, ehhhhhh, ’home made,’ I suppose.”
“Also while you got me on movies- fuck remakes, fuck prequels no one asked for, fuck movies you gotta do homework to enjoy, and fuck that one guy who can’t act so good but somehow is in every other movie, send him home and get new actors please, I wanna see new faces.”

Progress report
Haha where did I left off last time. Um, I don’t think I ever really started documenting it. So, my body donor arrived after the LNY and waited for another month, I finally beheaded her mid-March. I hadn’t done anything since except buying two more pieces of green at the most I’ve spent on doll clothing so far. A few days ago, I drafted and mocked the base dress for her. It was a simple mid-sleeve A-line dress. I did modify the pattern five times but it is easy to sew with few seams. I enjoyed the experiment process so I can get it right and I don’t want to waste the actual fabric.
1. Babysoka
I did all of these thinking before I purchased the jointed 18″, however, I still want to further modify it. One thing is her thighs are a bit loo long and less cute in proportion. It would be fairly straightforward just to remove a section of it and reattach. The scar would be covered by leggings/skirt anyway. But I can live with that and it’s more an aesthetic choice than practicality, so I’m still debating if it’s worth it. I think we can decide that after we finish the base colouring and outfit. Secondly, the hands. They are not removable but fortunately not entirely glued shut. I should be able to separate the palm from the ring in the wrist joint that refuses to unplug. The outspread fingers made it difficult to dress and the sleeves would need to be widened in consideration, which deducts points in accuracy. At first I thought I’d just made it removable but It came to me that I might as well give it fingers articulation? I’m not sure how yet, but I sure can find resources on that. I wonder if I could just buy a pair of bjd hands in the right scale? On top of my head I could try the traditional armature + foam/clay. I can imagine it working like HTka’s seamless arm but I’m not sure I can stand the hands being a different material and texture with the rest of the body... But before all that, I think maybe the palm could be pushed together a little with a couple of hot water dunk. I’ll try that next time.
The lack of ankle articulation bothers me too but it’s not that essential really. I’ve just been spoiled by mtm/ht 😅
Babysoka is a little overshadowed by August arriving and overloading school work made me forgot about her for more than a month. I, actually don’t have a deadline to finish her... I guess I’ve been seeing a lot of people also making their own Ahsoka 18″ doll (but AG or human) I feel like I could slack and take the time to perfect it. Especially the dress. Because I want her to be glam. Eh, glam is probably not the right word but I want to give her a better dress than the one layer printed painted on shift she had in the show. At this point this project has deviated so far from the original vision of “Animator replica” I might as well to give her the best. I guess it’d be a really thoughtful sentiment to finish her in time for my (hypothetical) graduation ceremony? I bet she’d be cuter than what everyone else has. I don’t actually want to take as long as til November, but finishing her in June seems a bit ambitious. I mean I could do it if I had my June weekends cleared but I don’t want to promise anything. It could maybe bleed a little into July but I prefer not what with the handover holiday and I want to reserve my birthday month to FODka whom I’ve been neglecting for nearly a year. We still have to finish that photoshoot from last birthday, bottom line. We need to remake some part of the rex sailor and hopefully make another two? in the series (fives and wolffe).
2. August
Then August is, for August, definitely, and it’s definitely a two-months minimum project, may even bleed into October. I guess that’s alright. Fall feels like a right season too. I already thought of the staircase and balcony where I want to take the photos (in TST). It looks SO good in my head right now and I’m really excited for it. The thing is as much as I have the energy to throw myself headfirst into a project now after a long time, a lot of IRL logistics is preventing me from working on it including but not limited to the NECESSITY to move out, or at least a MASSIVE rehaul of my current living arrangement and of course, career. Having a job is only going to boost my creative input because then I’d have a rigid schedule plus sense of security with an active income. (It would also unironically encourage me to splurge on fabrics and accessories but)
All that aside, let’s get back to the exciting part! The base dolls for August has arrived and I’ve been playing with them for the past two weeks. I had SO much fun. I can’t believe my first barbie is, this. I’m not sure I own an authentic barbie when I was a child but I must’ve had a few hand-me-downs. I was bit of a ‘girl toys are stupid!’ kid but I really wanted a styling head. I like the more ‘practical’ toys like doll house, closet and cook sets. Anyway, it’s also hilariously ironic my first hair play doll is a Ken doll. His hair was so soft I’m honestly surprised.
It was a delightful experience unboxing the dolls. Not the plastic part but, the joy and excitement of a new toy and to marvel at a thing of beauty. Looks #8 is gorgeous, even without the Ventress inspiration I would love to own one and I do NOT regret buying doubles (I want a third one). I’m honoured to have her as my first official barbie. Her eye makeup steals my heart and that hairstyle and platinum blonde is everything. She is so cool I love her. I lol at her box hair because I didn’t expect that much gel lol. I made sure to research twice for the flocking before washing it out. It’s not all out yet but you can try flipping the hair and this is where I want a third because I was suddenly very inspired to give her a Marilyn/50s inspired look🤣? I immediately want to order extra fashion even if I have more urgent matters. It’s kind of hard to imagine her outside of a black-and-white palette right now, but I’ll see what happen. I think I might unbox the other one after I finish August but I’m already overwhelmed with how many toys that’s fighting for my attention now😂
#9, has such a himbo energy I can’t stop laughing the moment I lay eyes on him. Those horrible silver pants (quality’s fine but the COLOUR) need to go but I don’t have replacements so he’s still wearing that right now. I really like the sculpt, that some say is indigenous inspired. He’s like the perfect base with the chin and cheekbones and hair and just a bit darker. I’m so excited to do his hair. I just line up two braids in front of him and the vibe was already there. Technically I CAN just do his hair and leave everything later but I’m gonna delay that satisfaction for myself.
The other surprise was the MTM body deserves more credit than I gave it. It was so fun to twist it and turn it and not having to be mindful for damage like an HT. It’s an unfair comparison and it’s probably my fault, but Andra IS posing a lot better than HTka lol. It’d be interesting to compare HT’s male body with #9.
Naturally, the official plastic feels so much smoother and sturdier than the knock-off that’s 1/10 its price. However, in terms of articulation, the knock-off is only slightly behind. If you’re using them as clothes hangers, a knock-off is an alright substitute. I’d have less worries in dyeing them as well. That would leave me more budget for hunting a better headsculpt, that’s all that’s important.
Finally, not a complaint but a MAJOR problem I’m not sure how to solve yet: height difference. And it’s honestly, only important to me looking at them in person because I could’ve let him stand on a box or photoshop it somehow. but... #8 and #9 are exactly the same height and Vos needs to be taller than Ventress by 13cm, a little more than 2cm in doll form. And it’s not their problem, Vos is just extra tall at 191, Ventress is accurate. I don’t want to go out and buy a new male body just for this (time cost), but it’s lowkey driving me crazy if one of the cutest thing between these two doesn’t exist. I think I might give him surgery in the thighs not unlike Babysoka 😅😣 (and Vos’s height need to be solved for fit and proportion is crucial for a white tie event!)
Actual Progress: Well, I haven’t sourced the fabric yet, but at least I’ve figure out how to do the skirt. I will make two layers. The top black semi-sheer chiffon (for screen accuracy) slightly gathered and the under layer shiny (possibly gauze or a soft netting) - with beading/sequins/glitter/silver thread - haven’t decided for ~glam~. I don’t think they need to be sewn together, despite the unfortunate fact the look will never walk down the runway :( I am a bit worried about how the edges should be finished, but I’m sure I will learn in time. I tried draping a corset once so I should be able to do it again. It’s sourcing the snakeskin leather that’s hard right now. Also the book’s description and the concept art is a little bit different. The book said the bodice has ‘a subtle swirling pattern of dark-purple embroidery’ and I took it to mean the fabric is purple flocking + black velvet background but the concept art shows a scaly with specific placements that it is clearly product of manipulation instead of just a natural piece of leather. What the book says was a miniskirt thingy sandwiched between the corset and the main skirt train. I still want to use velvet/flocking for it instead of embroidery because I like the contrast it gives with the hard leather. But there’s still room for it because the decoration on the gloves is 99% embroidery-required. It would probably be more mismatched if silk is used for the gloves, but leather gloves doesn’t seem as flexible... Yeah, that was the major obstacle to the bodice besides a well-constructed corset. I want to use a glossy leather but I’m afraid of the inherent thickness of the material and how badly it shall translate into doll form. Lastly, the CORSET – the lacing. I’m gonna be crazy if I have to actually lace it every time I put on/take off the outfit (no that I expect to change outfit a lot, given how many pieces of armour there is in the bounty hunter outfit). So it was already kind of begging why BOTH front and back is laced in the design  instead of the one side clasped norm. Like, do you UNDERSTAND it begs WHO lace it up boy. Anyway my conclusion is the back is going to be a faux/pre-laced and become the top of the Velcro* piece. After another count, the 11 dots are not grommets but… button cores the lace go around? Can it really be secured this way?? What about the lace itself? Literally a lace? a ribbon? a string? embroidery thread?
That’s a lot on my plate, but mostly the sourcing of fabric. I shall make another trip but the last two hasn’t been inspiring. I’d rather buy fabrics in person just to support local sellers unless it’s something so specific I can only find with a keyword search.
For Vos, “black trousers, comfortable leather boots and a white tunic with bold golden stripes” is all that there is. I scratched my head how that could be formal enough for a gala. It, isn’t even three pieces? Anyway, it’s Star Wars so I really shouldn’t think about it in normal fashion terms. That said, the shirt + pants combo seem too Earthlike and modern compared to the robes and gowns of the gffa. Either way, it falls to me to accesorise him and what do I know of menswear. I tried to search for runway looks from the late 90s (both centuries) and McQueen for inspiration. In the end, I decide to go with my original vision of a poet/pirate shirt. Exaggerated bell sleeves but tight cuffs, low neckline for sluttiness, and a contrast of material in the shirt (stiff) and sleeves (short), symmetric. The trousers can just be kept sleek and crisp like described, with traditional, or maybe more expensive wool/suit. I hope I don’t ended up over designing it, because my brain is telling me either the top or bottom should have a subtle pattern. I might be holding out on a double gold chain cape just now even though it’d be delicious to lean into the vader/dooku imagery, but GLOVES IS A MUST. Not sure how to fit it on without mittenized but I will save the thought for now.
oh the other thing I found was I was hoping Ken shoes could fit Ahsoka but his foot is longer than hers by 1cm ☹
Yeah, but for August I guess it’s this just now. I have the base dolls and I’m ready to do the hairstyles, so repaint and skintone is ready as that is. In the meantime, I must source the fabric and hopefully produce a drawing of Vos’s outfit. They have suitable plastic shoes for now and we can decide later whether to make fabric/leather shoes. Lightsabers and power source can be helped with gundam sabers and photoshop magic so that’s taken care of. If the result turns out really really good and I wan tto take the extra step of accuracy I could always find a 3D file online and print them in school. Oh Jewelery! The snakc necklace is kind of important so I do want to make it metallic. I hope a snake ring work in scale, otherwise I might have to sculpt it from silver clay.
Now that’s done, I think it’s kind of, interesting, to think it’s only natural to turn #7 into Rhayme. I think it’s an interesting idea, and I certainly would love to take inspiration from Tamika’s layered hair colour and baby hairs, but I think I prefer Rhayme to be taller (she should be able to share Ventress’s clothes remember), and a pale doll is probably better for dyeing. Nevertheless, a petite pirate captain is super adorable!
That’s it for now. I realize I just left my first custom experiment halfway hehe. The Visions project is still on. I have all the materials set, and I’m ready to retry that mess of a faceup haha. It IS really hard to draw anime eyes but I will afford to be patient this time. Just that with all these projects lined up seems like I won’t allocate time to it until Visions S2 airs lol. Well, maybe it can be a background distraction project. All these the most difficult thing is filming it. I need to get back the small camera and setup and that but I don’t even have a reasonable workspace 😂 (remember what I said about living arrangements) Not expecting to launch a youtube career but I owe as much to document the process. 🤷‍♀️
3. Toys
Yeah, I bought so much I could make a haul. I lowkey want to do it, a low-stake video just rant about what I like. That said, probably can’t be around to film it until after the 20th. And then HT releases Ahsoka and Anakin pretty close for me, just two weeks apart. I was two hours behind on Ahsoka and had to wait for an entire month, but I was a day late for Anakin, and I got him the next day! Which means not much people ordered Anakin. Can’t say that’s a good thing for the future of the CW line, and can’t say it’s the wisest of the people if CW flashbacks ended up real in Kenobi. I have only unboxed both figures for checking and left their lightsabers untouched so far. Last Thursday morning, I thought I could finally catch a breath with the exams and pose Ahsoka and Rex in the Kotobukiya stance, and then the Amazon orders arrived, just after noon, I got the message Anakin has arrived. And I have to pick the busiest time to go to the store🙄. Anakin was really fun, and his outfit was done so much better than Ahsoka’s 🙄 (It’s lined, and of a much softer polyester than Ahsoka’s single-layer plastic). Even though it’s $100 more but minus rolling eyeballs, it’s well worth it with an extra cape and light-up saber. The armour piece being extendable to allow movement took me by surprise. I guess hot toys is just better at making male figures than female ones. I don’t know when I’ll have time to play with them with so much projects in the wait.

The Clash of Stars Book 1: The Key now finished and ready to read!
The five Clans — FlashClan of the mountains, EchoClan of the caves, CoveClan of the beach, BlossomClan of the meadows, and AmberClan of the forest — have lived in relative tolerance, as one would put it, for decades, maybe even centuries. Their lives carry on normally enough, but there seems to be something missing in their very souls — a long-lost and nearly forgotten power, higher than their warrior ancestors and the shadows they keep away, in the claws of every Clan.
Between an ongoing conflict with FlashClan and EchoClan, a sickness beginning to spread through the Clans' most vital resource, a negligent leader, and a deputy that won't step down, chaos seems to be fastening its grip on the Starlit Cape. Join Sunnyheart, Thornpaw, Ottercall, Wolfpaw, and Ghostpaw as they attempt to make things right — before everything goes awry.
Read it here! Cover art drawn by the amazing @harriertail!
The Key is the first installment of a Warriors fanfiction series I’ve been working on since January centering around fantasy Clans. I intend to write more arcs, both sequel and prequel just for fun with three books each, but for now we’re focusing on this first arc, which is now a third of the way done!
If you’ve been waiting for it to be finished to check out, here it is! I highly recommend downloading it as an EPUB or MOBI file and reading it on an e-reader, I’ve cleaned it up so that author notes don’t cut into the immersion and such, with a new foreword to check out at the beginning.
I say it a lot, but any and all support and feedback in regards to this is highly appreciated! Thank you to everyone who’s been supporting me on this project, which has been fantastic practice for learning about storytelling, worldbuilding, and character development.
With that, I’m going on a break to avoid burnout. I plan to read this all together at once after my break and get started on my notes for the next book. I’m hoping to have news in regards to that by Spring 2022.
That being said, hope you all enjoy! I’ll hopefully have more time and energy to draw some cats, if Sinnoh remakes don’t take all of my attention between now and then.
Thank you all again!

Oh yeah I forget you play Pokémon. What were your thoughts on the recent Pokémon Presents presentation, as well as the Sinnoh games we just had? (The Diamond and Pearl remakes plus Legends Arceus)
I don’t have enough of an opinion on the Presents just because I need more to make an opinion. The Grass starter is definitely my favorite though; something about the Fire one is putting me off and the Water one looks like a Ducklett and Wingull had a baby.
I didn’t touch the Diamond and Pearl remakes for multiple reasons. I’ve played through generation 4 so many times and I just had no interest in playing a 1-to-1 copy of it even with what was added to it.
Legends Arceus has been fun so far (I caught another random shiny between my last post and now and at this point I think the game is screwing with me; they’ve also all been Gen 4 Pokemon which was interesting), but there are some issues so far that make me think the game wasn’t polished up properly (for reference as to where I am, I’m up to the third Ride Pokemon):
- Climbing is borderline unplayable and I’m constantly frustrated by it. I’m aware of the exploit to help but it’s either not perfect or I haven’t perfected it. I’m always feeling either like, “I should be able to make this,” or, “my player character should be able to walk this on her own.” There was a particular spot in the third area that I felt like should be simple platforming, but the Ride Pokemon just doesn’t want to, and I only finally got up thanks to the second Ride Pokemon and some conveniently placed treasure as motivation (as he can “climb” better due to the speed increase of the motivator). Basically, slopes that look they should be easy end up being a gamble of me running/jumping blindly at it until it decides to let me up.
- There’s a quest to go around the region and find certain “static Pokemon” that I find fun, but their hitbox has been absolutely unfair to the point where I’ve wasted 20+ balls trying to catch a few of them (I reset but still). The light balls I wanted to use on all of them for consistency are either very broken in their hit box or I’m really unlucky, because most of my attempts plink off. As soon as I hit the Pokemon, it’s a guaranteed catch, but the game just doesn’t want me to have nice things.
-- (on a mini-tangent, there’s a hint to find one of them that feels intended to mislead you because the actual place the Pokemon is at isn’t where it implies it should be)
- Certain menuing seems broken. The way I sort my requests keeps resetting back to its standard even if it tells me I’m sorting the way I want (I’ve also passed over completely/grayed out missions before and they go back to not being grayed out for no reason (merely a visual glitch but still).
- Small issues with being noticed. Sometimes alpha Pokemon will “follow” after me while I’m hiding in grass, despite having not noticed me (with the “...”/”!” sign, sometimes I’ll still have the visual “noticed” warning on the top of the screen even though the music is chill and nothing’s happening, and so on.
- There’s an equivalent to Breath of the Wild’s “Bullet Time” mode, which is hampered by a difficulty to catch Pokemon partially submerged in water. Maybe I just haven’t practiced enough yet but I cannot do anything of value with it. Many a ball has been lost to the ocean.
- Speaking of catching, sometimes my Pokeball will just... plink off the Pokemon’s head entirely for no reason and I still don’t understand why (they haven’t noticed me and aren’t in a state in which the ball should). The game doesn’t hold you hand all the time but there are instances where I feel like it should’ve guided/instructed me better on why certain things happen..
- Cutscenes are still hampered by the usual “fade to black so something can happen off-screen” thing. In addition, there have been a few minor visual “glitches” that thankfully don’t bother me overall but are still there and proof of an unpolished game. The belt on the Karate Gi outfit glitched during a cutscene, some characters’ idle animations are clearly missing a frame of animation while others have this thing where they or parts of the clothes “snap” to a certain place in the animation (Choy, one of the people you buy items from, is a good example of this; I’m constantly distracted by that little white thing at his waist clicking/snapping back even though the animation should be smooth), I’ve had multiple occasions where the grass blowing in the wind has just given up and keeps flickering back and forth in its animation, and so on.
Granted, I have weird luck with “breaking” games but I feel like this isn’t all me. I can deal with the not-super-perfect visuals because I don’t really care about that and I am genuinely having an overall-positive experience, but there have just been a few too many times where I think to myself, “That definitely wasn’t supposed to happen.” There are multiple quality of life features that I approve of but the game does require some mental hurdles for me to get over whenever I sit down to play, as I know they’re all going to happen.
My experience can be summed up as, “The game is unpolished, but I’m having a lot of fun.”

"Don't you forget about me, please. I don't care about anyone else!
But you, you don't forget about me, I'm telling you!
I'll come back and haunt you if you do!"

For this week's personal project, I decided to draw Astrid, the lovable lynx character from "Spiritfarer".
"Spiritfarer" is the best game to come out in 2020. I know as far as hot takes that one is glacial, but it's the game I found myself needing the most during the absolute garbage fire that was that year. I did play a lot of "Animal Crossing: New Horizons", quite enjoyed the "FFVII Remake", and I will eventually put my hands on "Hades" and "BPM: Bullets Per Minute", but in terms of what really got to me "Spiritfarer" is without rival. I can't think of any other game I both dreaded and looked forward to more than this one, where practically every milestone was an arduous process of going through the five steps of grief. I've drawn the comparison to "Undertale" in terms of emotional impact, because if that game had one absolute sucker-punch of an emotional conclusion, "Spiritfarer" is that conclusion every two hours, and I won't lie after a while it was eroding on my motivation to play it. Nevertheless I did finish it, and it was a pretty satisfying experience I will never forget.
And then there's Astrid.
Astrid is my favourite character in "Spiritfarer", but perhaps not for the reasons you'd expect. I've come to realise many who play this game latch onto it from a purely personal point of view, and with me and Astrid is no different. She reminded me a lot of a good friend of my family named Caridad Yobero.
Caridad, or Cari as we called her, was this very sweet old woman who lived in front of our house in Madrid for basically all of her life. She was wonderful, sweet, kind of a badass (she lived through the Spanish Civil War), and she struggled during her late life with sarcoma, which ate at her legs. Still, she was as bright and well spoken as anyone, and my God did she have a prodigious well organised memory. She was like a library in human form. Last time I saw her was in 2004, during her birthday of all times. She had invited about fifty people to the event, and it was a wonderful good time. Before I left I did have the chance to give her a hug, and maybe it was a thing of destiny, but what do you think was the last thing she said to me?
"Now, whatever you do, don't forget about me. If you forget about me, I'll come back and haunt you". So you can see why, when Astrid and Stella were going towards the Everdoor, that the moment Astrid said that was when the waterfalls appeared, and they didn't stop. Every trip to the Everdoor hurt, but Astrid's was the only one were I got legitimately upset. I tossed my Switch to the empty seat of the sofa (I played the Switch version), put my hands on my face, and then didn't touch the game for a whole month. I just couldn't will myself, the impact was too much, and it might've been a coincidence but holyshit man what a hell of a coincidence.
Astrid's great, Spiritfarer is great, so of course I was going to draw her.
Please, let me know what you think of it in the comments. I appreciate each and every single one I receive.

You’re A Fan Of The 50s ~ BTS Reaction
Jin:
“This place looks amazing,” Jin chuckled as you pushed the door open to your favourite diner. “I feel like I’ve gone back in time sixty years.”
You smiled across to the waitress, sliding into one of the booths at the back of the diner. “So, how did I do? Is this a good place for date night together?”
“Really nice,” he smiled, taking in everything around him. “I just can’t wait to eat now,” he laughed, looking around at the other tables in the restaurant.
You passed him across one of the menus, “their burgers are incredible by the way, I always end up ordering one of them, they’re delicious.”
His head nodded, “maybe I’ll have to trust your judgement as you know so much about this place. And if it’s bad, I’ll have someone to blame too.”
“That’s unfair,” you laughed, “trust me, you’ll like it. And if you don’t, then you can pick where we go on our next date night to make up for it.”
“I’m sure it will be nice,” he smiled, closing his menu as a waitress approached. “How about you order for me, and I order for you?”
“You’re on, but make sure you get it right!”
Yoongi:
“This is incredible, how did you even find this place?” You asked Yoongi, peering out of your car window at the gorgeous setup of the drive-in cinema he’d found.
He glanced across at your wide smile, “it was actually Jungkook who told me about it, he thought it would be right up your street.”
“It really is,” you giggled, turning around to face him, “I honestly can’t thank you enough for bringing me here, I’ve always wanted to come to somewhere like this.”
Yoongi leant across as you stretched your arms out to hold him. “I have to admit, it does seem pretty cool. I wasn’t sure about it at first, but it seems fun.”
Your head nodded, “it just feels like a huge cinema, I promise you’re going to love it. Just roll the windows down and we can relax.”
“There’s some snacks in the back too,” he added, glancing up at you, “just to make it feel like we really are at the cinema together.”
“Just when I thought this couldn’t get any better,” you chuckled, “you really have thought of everything. This is turning into the best date ever.”
“I’m glad you like it so much, it’s perfect.”
Hoseok:
“I can’t believe how fun this is,” Hobi chuckled as he twirled you around the dancefloor, “I never imagined a dance class could be as fun as this is.”
Your smile widened, relieved to see him having so much fun. “I always told you to trust me when I said you’d like a fifties dance.”
“I should have listened,” he admitted, coming to a stop as the teacher yelled for a break. “Do they do these things weekly? Can we come again next week too?”
You led him across to where your bags were, “you’ll be exhausted if you dance here and then at work. Are you really sure you want to keep coming here?”
Instantly, his head nodded. “It’ll be fun to do something with you, especially something you enjoy so much, it can be our little thing.”
“I’d like that,” you smiled, taking a hold of his hand, “and I really appreciate how willing you’ve been to try something that I like too.”
“Well, you’ve always supported me in the things I do, so now I’ve got a bit of time off, it’s important that I support you to,” he smiled.
“I’m glad you like it here; I knew you would.”
Namjoon:
“They really had Monopoly back then?” Namjoon quizzed as you passed him the old board game you kept that had been passed through your family for years.
You nodded, blowing off the dust as you handed it over. “When my grandparents found out how much I loved those times, they gave me their version.”
“It’s so old,” he giggled, lifting the lid of the box off. “It’s definitely not like a Monopoly board that I’m used to, even the counters look so old.”
Namjoon unfolded the board, flicking through the box of paper notes that came with it. “I’m surprised it still has all its pieces after all these years to be honest.”
His eyes looked across at you, “there’s a lot more pieces than we have these days. I wonder if all of these places still exist today.”
“I would imagine so. Think about all the remakes that have been made now, but this will always be the original one,” you pointed out to him.
“It is quite cool to have an original, but regardless of how old it is, I’m still going to beat you,” he announced, “I hope you’re ready to lose.”
“There is no way you’ll beat me at this.”
Jimin:
“How are you so good at this?” You yelled as Jimin continued to pull you round the roller-skating rink. “I thought this would be a good idea, but my butt has never been so sore.”
His smile grew, taking hold of your other hand too. “You’ve just got to practice and try and keep your balance, I promise it’s not that hard.”
“Well, that’s easy for you to say, flying around the wink,” you sighed, feeling yourself stumble yet again as Jimin held onto you.
He stayed still for a moment, holding underneath your elbows to steady you. “You were the one who wanted to give this a try, you can’t give up now.”
Your eyes rolled, “I didn’t imagine it would be this hard though. Anytime I watch other people do it they make it look so easy, including you.”
“To be honest, I have done this before,” he admitted, smiling weakly as your eyes widened. “I didn’t want to let you down by telling you this isn’t new to me.”
“At least I know now why you’re so good,” you groaned, “but if you’ve been before, you can help pull me around for a little while longer.”
“I’ll help you all night long, I promise.”
Taehyung:
“I’ve not seen a vinyl player this old in years,” Taehyung smiled as he walked into your home, instantly flicking through your collection of records.
You glanced across at his wide smile, “have a go at playing something if you want. I’ve not used it in a while, but I’m sure that it still works well.”
“I’m too scared to break it,” he chuckled, having a read through every record that you owned. “I never expected that you’d have an actual vinyl player at home.”
You walked across to his side, picking out one of the vinyl discs. “I’ve had it for years, it was a birthday present from many years ago, I never wanted to let it go.”
Taehyung watched on as you put one of the records on, “there’s something so majestic about a vinyl player, so much better than what we get these days.”
“That’s part of the reason why I kept hold of it,” you informed him, “Spotify is good, but the music doesn’t sound the same as it does on a vinyl.”
“That’s very true,” he mused, as the song began to play, “can we leave it on? I just want to enjoy listening to the music for a while?”
“Of course, it’ll keep playing as long as we want.”
Jungkook:
“What are you watching?” Jungkook asked as he walked into the living room, watching as you paused the movie. “Is this what I think it is again?”
Your head nodded, patting the space beside you. “If you’re going to moan about Gentleman Prefer Blondes, you can walk back out the door.”
“But you only watched it last month,” Jungkook laughed, sitting down beside you. “It’s a good film, but have you ever thought about watching a different film.”
Your head shook, laying across his chest. “This film just makes me happy, I always imagined myself as a bit of a Marilyn Monroe deep down.”
Jungkook’s smile grew, “I could see that; you’d make a great Marilyn. I mean, you’ve watched her films enough times to know all about her.”
“She’s one of the greatest actresses ever,” you scolded, pressing play on the movie again, “now if you’re going to stay, you have to be quiet.”
“I will, promise,” he whispered, resting his hands through your hair. “Are you comfortable? I wouldn’t want you to miss anything.”
“I hate how sarcastic you can be sometimes.”
