The Long-Ass Walk of Shame

Jen’s afterglow is fading as she walks down the dim, draughty corridor lined with flickering torches. Even so, she can’t help smiling as she hugs the black satin dressing gown against her body. It’s not hers, but she might just keep it.

There’s only one downside to hot sex with an Asgardian goddess: the long-ass walk of shame down endless Asgardian corridors. Her feet ache from a night of dancing, her face aches from smiling so much, and… everything else aches in a very pleasant way.

Bruce probably noticed Hela flirting with her. Actually, everyone probably noticed. The Avengers had been summoned to a long, boring, official meeting that boiled down to “yeah, Loki took out half of New York but he’s very sorry and he won’t do it again”. He’d been imprisoned (for now), but Odin clearly didn’t think Earth was his problem. Tony sassed the crap out of him and Steve struggled to keep the peace. Meanwhile, Jen had stared at the gorgeous gothic princess sitting opposite her and entertained some filthy daydreams.

Hela, the goddess of death, had long black hair and eyeshadow that belonged at a rock concert, with a deep and sultry voice. She seemed equally bored by the proceedings. Perhaps that was why those grey eyes had finally locked onto hers. Then her pale lips curled into a smile.

He pulled her up from the blanket, Gwen giggling as she fell into his chest. He laughed into her neck as she clung to his sweater. “Dance with me,” he whispered. She tipped her head back to look into his eyes, blinking heavily against the dim evening light. Peter grinned at her and began to sway, and she let him move them in slow, sleepy circles. “But Peter,” she whispered back, crossing her wrists behind his neck, thinking about anything and everything but tomorrow. “You can’t dance.”  He gave her an offended look, and she couldn’t help but laugh again. Peter sighed against her lips. “I just want to forget, Gwen.” He brushed an Eskimo kiss against her nose. “I just want to remember you.” The sun was setting over the lake in front of them. The music from her radio was an echo haunting the air around them. She acquiesced. Gwen let herself fall into his arms, one final time.

The Morn After

ThorBruce fluff fic for @marvelrarepairbingo2022​ Prompt: Thor and Bruce cook a meal together

When Thor awoke, Bruce was gone.

He squinted at the empty space beside him, struggling to recall exactly how the good doctor had ended up in his bed. Asgard had celebrated the arrival of its new year, and all had partaken in the feasting and drinking that followed. Perhaps a little too much drinking. He licked his dry lips and winced at the headache throbbing at the base of his skull. It was fortunate that they had reached his bed and not passed out on the floor.

Groaning at the bright sunlight flooding the room, Thor clambered out of bed and cast about for his clothes. They were strewn all over his room, and his tunic (crumpled beside the door) was stained with wine. Of his cloak there was no sign.

Thor turned again to the empty bed, unsure if he’d dreamt the events of last night. He remembered bouts of drunken singing, Bruce clutching his shoulder and laughing, a brush of lips in the dark, swiftly followed by cold, skilled hands…

Yet now Bruce was gone. With a sigh, Thor stood over the washbasin and cleaned himself. So many days had begun thus: waking to an empty bed with vague memories. It was common knowledge amongst the folk that their prince was a talented, if fickle, lover. Plenty would approach him, but few stayed past the morn. Somehow he had hoped that Bruce would be different.

Pitching a Tent

Summary: Bruce sneaks into Thor’s tent on the Avengers’ camping trip. Neither of them are good at keeping quiet.

‘Ah, Banner.’ Footsteps approach. Bruce looks up to see Thor, wearing a red chequered shirt and jeans and looking like a woodsman who just stepped out of a fairy tale. He nods at the tent. ‘May I assist you with your erection?’

Bruce grins. ‘Maybe later.’ He glances towards camp, but no one is paying them any attention. Natasha appears to be demonstrating how to kill someone with a can of beans. ‘Actually yeah, could you help put these pegs in? I can’t get them to stay…’

Thor unhooks Mjolnir from his belt, kneels down and hammers the pegs into the damp ground. Whilst he works, Bruce admires the way his jeans hug his ass. ‘Will that suffice?’ he asks, sitting back on his haunches.

Bruce peers inside the tent. Half of the interior isn’t quite resting on the ground. ‘Not sure it’ll stand up to much… punishment.’

‘No matter. It is not the tent I shall be punishing tonight.’ Thor shoots him a sultry look that makes Bruce’s pulse quicken. It’s going to be a long evening.

I Just Can’t Give You Up

A short while later, Bruce is dressed and ready to face whoever the hell brought him here. As he descends the spiral staircase, he hears funk music playing nearby: James Brown’s Get Up Offa That Thing. No AC/DC? Definitely not Tony.

At the bottom of the stairs is a roomy living space. One corner is a dining area, and the man at the table springs up and marches towards him. ‘Oh, hey! Good morning! I was starting to worry about you.’

Before he can respond, Bruce’s hand is grasped in a firm shake. ‘You were?’ he stutters.

‘Yeah. You were out for nearly fourteen hours. Must have needed the rest.’ He grins, flashing white teeth. ‘I’m Justin Hammer. I’m guessing you’ve heard of me?’

Of course: the perfectly-coiffed hair, the glasses, the grey suit with matching waistcoat… Justin Hammer has been all over the news lately. He’s not exactly the poster child of selfless acts.

Bruce glances around. There are no bars on the tall glass windows, and the place is full of very breakable furniture and ornaments. ‘Did you… kidnap me?’

‘Kidnap you?’ Justin looks scandalised. ‘Gosh no! Actually, you came to me. I found you unconscious in the snow after Hulk crashed out in my backyard – literally.’ He finally drops the handshake. ‘He also threw a semi into the koi pond, but I’ll get that fixed.’

Bruce laughs awkwardly. ‘Send Tony the bill. Um, I should go before I break anything else.’ He’s already backing away, wringing his hands. The less he has to do with Justin the better.

He’s halfway to the door when Justin calls, ‘You won’t stay for breakfast?’

The final word stops him in his tracks. Bruce is suddenly aware of the gnawing ache in his stomach. ‘I’m not hungry.’

‘You sure? We’ve got waffles, croissants, pancakes, French toast, avocado toast… all vegan, of course.’ When Bruce turns around, Justin shrugs and smiles. ‘Tony’s not the only one who can Google things. You’re like me, you like sweet things.’

The table is clustered with white plates on a blue tablecloth, all piled high with Bruce’s favourite breakfast foods. His mouth waters. ‘Just breakfast, huh? No strings attached?’

Justin sits down, already tucking a napkin into his shirt. ‘The door’s right there. We both know I can’t stop you.’

Thor and Bruce regularly have nightmares. The solution: sleeping together. And if they accidentally wake up cuddling? Well, that's just fine too.

Bruce knew he wouldn’t be getting any sleep tonight.

It had been an utterly hellish day, beginning with an Avengers alert at 4am and culminating in a long and harrowing battle including an unplanned Hulk-out. Bruce had endured the post-battle lunch, and the debrief, and the movie night, feeling like he wanted to claw out of his own skin. But he smiled and nodded in all the right conversational places, and remained sitting on the couch until everyone else went to bed.

Well, everyone except Thor.

A storm had been brewing all evening, and Bruce gazed out of the window, watching the rain fall. ‘Something on your mind?’ he asked eventually.

‘No.’ Thor had been pacing up and down for the past hour or so, twirling Mjolnir. The faint whistle was doing nothing to help Bruce’s growing headache.

He rubbed his eyes in irritation. ‘Do Norse gods sleep, or are they usually too busy drinking and celebrating?’

Thor looked up sharply. ‘Of course we sleep. I thought you were supposed to be intelligent.’

Bruce blinked back at him.

‘That was rude. I’m sorry.’ He stopped his pacing. He sighed. ‘I… have slept little of late. It tends to make me ill-tempered.’

‘Bruce tapped a finger on the back of his hand. If he kept tapping, he couldn’t doze off. In theory. ‘I don’t sleep much either.’ Even though every inch of his body was begging for rest, he couldn’t give in.

Thor’s scowl softened. ‘Why not?’

He also has an outstanding mentor who’s trained and guided him during his career. When he meets up with Brock Rumlow for one of their frequent get-togethers, he can’t resist poking a little fun.

The other person knew how to react and, almost instinctively, turned with the vigilante, ending up on top of him again. Matt didn't mean to react to the quick change in position, but he couldn't help a soft moan when the half-god's full body weight was on his lap again, a familiar hardness pressing into him. The arousal building up in him was enough of a distraction that Matt didn’t notice when Loki leaned over him again until cool fingers touched his ribs. A soft chuckle was the only answer to his gasp. It was a new sound, a fond laugh, nowhere near the mischievous snicker the rest of the world had gotten to hear. And for Peggy Carter, it's going to be a gift exchange to remember.

Want What You Want and Can't Where You Can't by TheUltimateUndesirable for Wolfsheart (James "Bucky" Barnes/Loki, Rated M)  Bucky drastically underestimated what he was getting into when he agreed to be Loki’s fake boyfriend to please the masses. It’s not the history or lies that got to him. No, in the end it ended up being Loki himself. Something everyone warned him about. Generally speaking since he highly doubted any of them expected the two of them to actually become friends. Let alone the more he desires.

sleep in by lavenderism (vorpalinas) for Sivan325 (Logan/Scott Summers, Rated G)  He doesn’t want to open his eyes just yet, and not because of the consequences doing so would bring, but because he wants this moment to last just a little longer. It’s warm here and, besides, he wouldn’t be able to crawl out of bed if he wanted to. His limbs are too tangled with another’s to allow much movement.

Under Your Protection by TrashficParlour for Kleenexwoman (James "Bucky" Barnes/Steve Rogers,  Rated G)  James couldn’t help the wide grin that spread upon his face at that. He was doing something right. So right, in fact, that a forest spirit knew who he was.

I Just Can't Give You Up by Blizzard_Fire for TrashficParlour (Bruce Banner/Justin Hammer, Rated T)  Justin tasks Bruce with "keeping an eye" on Tony Stark. Bruce's attempts to stall him somehow turn into flirty texts and dinners at fancy restaurants, until it's hard to tell how much of this is still a charade. The other Avengers think Bruce is getting in too deep, but Bruce starts to realise that there's much more to Justin Hammer than anyone realises...

Diamond In The Rough - An Emma Frost Story by alex_greene for scottxlogan (Logan & Scott Summers, Emma Frost, Rated T) Emma Frost spends Christmas Eve rescuing her favourite boys, Scott "Cyclops" Summers and Wolverine, after they get into a scrape while saving the day. They enjoy themselves so much that they forget what day it is.

All the way home I'll be warm by Wolfsheart for Writerpete (Peter Parker & Tony Stark, Loki & Peter Parker, Rated T) After saving the world a few times, Peter Parker feels older than he should, is a bit moody, even post-holiday gift exchange and food eaten and all the other feel-good moments with his Avengers family. He thinks no one notices, but of course, two in particular do and provide the much-needed comfort and advice.

We have enjoyed the community created here and especially in our MRP Discord Group. You've all really astonished and warmed us and made our hearts happy! The fics and art that have come out of this bingo have been a fantastic and fun treat for everyone!

Our first round has finished, and soon there will be a Master Post of all the fics here before Round 2 cards go out for those who've requested them. For those who haven't finished Round 1 and wish to, their cards can be continued with before taking on Round 2 cards.
