There's only one thing Roy can tell Elric that will keep Riza from putting a bullet between his golden eyes.
He tells him about the array that he burned off of Riza's back.
"Damn," he says after, "and I thought my family was fucked up."
Roy just bared his soul and revealed one of his deepest secrets.
Elric grins. "Yeah, yeah, thanks, I wasn't looking forward to dying."
Alex had waited an appropriate distance away, hands over his ears, while Roy spoke to Edward, but now he bounds over and shouts, "How are my dear Maria and Denny? Are they following my loving orders?"
"Of riding my ass and getting in my business, you mean?" Elric snaps.
Alex grins so wide that it almost looks like his teeth are sparkling. "Indeed!"
Denny and Maria know that Alex is alive and are following Elric on his orders. That explains - well, everything, really.
Elric softens, an actual, normal smile coming across his face. It almost makes him look his age. "Yeah, they are. Anything you want me to tell them?"
"To keep up the excellent work!" Alex, tears streaming down his face. Roy isn't totally sure why.

Yeah, I don't like incestuous relationships either, but if it's in the story we have to analyze it.
I don't know if this helps you, but here in my country, this anime is within this genre. Even if elsewhere it does not have this classification, the story itself leads to this path.
"How is the Gothic novel characterized? The Gothic novel is an essentially hybrid manifestation, a link between the novelistic and the novel in which an atmosphere of mystery, affliction and terror prevails."
There's a strange duality to the relationships in this series. If I were to ask you if you could name me any JSHK romantic relationships that are TOTALLY HEALTHY, could you name them for me?
Mitsuba x Kou It's not canonically romantic yet, but even before it is, Kou is aggressive and demanding of Mitsuba, not to mention that he puts Mitsuba's wants above his own. Mitsuba, on the other hand, demonstrated a desire for "death together", which Kou tried to do without hesitation. A guy tried to take his own life for someone else, and Mitsuba wanted to trap him in the PP arch along with him.
Aoi x Aoi Akane is extremely possessive, aggressive, jealous and intolerant. When I say intolerant I am referring to anyone who has a romantic interest in Aoi. He doesn't give her the power of choice, he simply decided that she is his. Traces of an EXTREMELY abusive and DANGEROUS relationship, yes, imminent risk of death. Many REAL LIFE cases start like this. Aoi is jealous of Akane's popularity (in terms of friendships), and doesn't think twice before impaling him.
Hanako x Nene It follows a fine line between Aoi x Aoi, the difference is that Hanako is not aggressive, BUT, he is vengeful. We constantly see him punishing Nene when she shows interest in other guys. He makes decisions about her life alone without consulting her and without allowing her to choose what is best for her or not. He is jealous, possessive, insecure and needy. Hanako would be able to kill Nene if he believed it was the best option for her. I don't need to mention the PP arc or the number six arc. Nene is a girl who tends towards disrespect, she flirts with other guys in front of Hanako, even though she is about to enter into a relationship with him.
This is just a SUPERFICIAL summary of the three main ships in the series. They all seem to want to culminate in tragedy, something that fits into the gothic genre.
Besides of course, the relationship between the twins, a mysterious and dark relationship, you can't follow this relationship without thinking that there is "something strange"
If we compare, for example, the relationship between Edward Elric and Alphonse, we see here a healthy and common relationship between brothers, with its ups and downs and with great brotherly love between them. Remembering that Edward's entire journey is dedicated to his younger brother. Ed made a mistake in the past and his younger brother suffered a serious consequence, Ed took responsibility and promised to solve the problem. They are together almost all the time and yet you clearly see that it is a healthy relationship.

Not in the case of twins. There's a strange ambiguity in what they consider "love", it doesn't feel like sibling love, and it's not ordinary love, it's something more obsessive, more… how can I say… suffocating? There's something I still can't see. It's not just "maybe it's incest" it's something more than that. Maybe one day I will be able to organize my ideas and think more clearly.

meant to post this a goodly while ago but it's been sitting in my drafts. i've been getting antsy not being able to post anything finished yet, so here's a backup plan i forgot about lol
wrote this a few years ago, but i do still genuinely love this. it's got the vibes i honestly always look for. despite being out of season, i hope you can like it too!
pairing: none, vaguely edward elric x oc rating: G warnings: spoilers for conqueror of shamballa, mostly angst tbh, mistaken identity, this is the isekai version of fma, a bit of fluff, this is mostly kind of wintery cute, not much else tbh

There's no good reason for Edward to be keeping the windows open when it's below freezing outside. When I get to their apartment, the door is unlocked. I don't bother knocking and simply let myself in. I quietly take off my boots after closing the door behind me, but keep my coat on. Even the heating's turned off. Is it something that reminds him of home? Doesn't Alphonse have anything to say about it?
I busy myself going around closing all the windows and brushing the snow off the sills. Pull the curtains open as far as they go. The living room first, then the dining room, Alphonse's room, the guest room. I falter in front of Edward's door, still slightly ajar. I can't hear him snoring. Is he asleep?
Even though my knock is gentle, the door slowly opens. Edward is sat up, propped against the headboard of his bed, a book open on his lap and several notebooks and loose sheets of paper strewn around him. The winter breeze makes his open curtains flutter. I pull my gloves off and stow them in my coat pockets and move to the window to close it.
"Don't close it all the way," a mutter comes from behind me. I oblige; I leave the window cracked a little less than an inch. Crank up the heating on the radiator. I can't see my breath, but it must be a just thing. I turn around and ball my fists at my hips.
"I know, I know," Edward dismisses with a wave. His eyes are still closed and his head is still leaned back. The book in his lap is closed, and he carefully puts it aside. "Is Al home yet?"
"Not yet no," I reply, feeling the frustration slowly leak away from me. It's hard to stay angry at him, like this. I let my arms fall by my sides and look to his bedroom door. "Have you eaten anything today?"
Edward throws an arm over his eyes and groans. Guess not.
"I hope you're okay with potato stew," I say over my shoulder, striding out of the bedroom, past the dining room and into the kitchen. I let my coat slide down my arms and toss it haphazardly at a chair. Don't really care when it falls off. Throw my scarf in the same general direction.
While I busy myself peeling and chopping potatoes and a few other vegetables, I can hear Edward shuffling around in his room. Probably gathering all his books and loose papers into... some kind of disorganized and precarious tower I'm bound to topple over later.
"So about tomorrow," I call out, over the sound of the boiling pot of water. The door to his room slowly clicks shut behind him. His hair's an absolute mess.
"What about it?" He asks, stopping in front of the coat on the floor before picking it up and letting himself sink into a chair at the dining table.
"Gracia invited all of us to dinner. Did you already forget?" When I turn around after carefully sliding the cut vegetables into the boiling pot, it's to see Edward wrapping my scarf around his neck. He pauses for a second, long enough to look lie someone with his hand stuck in the cookie jar, but eventually shrugs his shoulders.
"I still don't see why we have to go if Officer Asshole is gonna be there," Edward grumbles, pushing the wrapped scarf further up his face and looking away. "We're not... Al and I aren't even religious."
The correction stings. But I let it slide. It can't be helped if I look like her.
"It doesn't have to be about religion," I point out, adding salt into the pot and stirring absently. "It's just an excuse to get together and have good food. It can be, uh..." Frown and stare at the table before looking back up at Edward. "The word for 'décontracté'? Relaxed?"
"Casual," he replies easily, frowning in turn. "I guess. Can we leave early?"
"Not before gin and coffee."
Edward groans in time with the squeaking of the door's hinges. Alphonse shakes the snow from his hair and coat before realizing I'm at the stove.
"Anne! I didn't know you were coming over!" Alphonse rushes over, drops a kiss of each cheek, and peers over the simmering pot. I slap a hand with the ladle.
"Get those wet boots off this floor you brute! It's bad enough you dragged in the tempête with you." Alphonse has the decency to look sheepish before scuttering back to the front door and removing his boots. Wipes down the floor with his feet with a dishtowel I throw at him.
"How long til that's done? I'm starving," Ed laments from his chair, leaning back onto its hind two legs.
"Maybe you wouldn't be starving if you'd actually eaten today, Alchimiste."
Edward bristles at the name. "I told you to stop calling me that."
"J'arrêterai quand ça sera faux."
And the conversation ends there, until Alphonse sweeps back in at the table to speak to his brother. They both are too absorbed to pay attention to me, and that's perfectly fine.

I had just been moved to Germany when I first met Edward.
I had been hired by a prominent physicist for both my knowledge and ease with a typewriter. With the glowing commendations of one professor in particular, I had managed to find work in Germany. As a woman, having studied in medical sciences as much as was allowed, this was more than I could have hoped for. My employer treated me well enough; made no sexual advances and never alluded to wanting anything more than what my brain could provide.
And the pay was decent enough. Worth the glares and snide remarks from some of my peers, at the very least.
It hadn't been a week before I was accosted. I had been returning from a local shop after dropping off one of the several typewriters that had been left in disrepair. Someone kept shouting, "Anna!" I didn't believe someone was calling out for me until a hand, too solid and uncomfortable, landed on my shoulder.
I turned and moved to slap the arm away, but it barely moved. My knuckles were sore from it. Cradling my hand, I took a second to look at the man who'd grabbed me.
"That is you, right? Anna?" Golden eyes were wide in hope and disbelief. Whoever this man was had seen in me someone he'd clearly been missing.
Nevermind that I had never in my years seen eyes as pure a gold as that.
"Désolée, mais..." First, he frowned. And then it was like a stone wall passed in front of his face. "I'm sorry, you must be confusing me with someone else, sir. My name is Annelise."
The man's arm, until then still hover at my shoulder, slowly fell as he took a step back. As he opened his mouth to, no doubt, apologize, his wince didn't escape me.
"Attendez, votre—your arm. It is—ah, merde. C'est quoi..? Artificial?" I tried, gesturing vaguely at his right arm.
Again, the man frowned, but looked more like he'd been punched in the gut. Grabbed at his right shoulder with his left hand and dug his thumb in.
"Yeah, it... Sorry, I didn't mean to bother you." He turned and took a step to leave. I don't know what possessed me to grab onto his good—real—arm to stop him.
"J'ai dit d'attendre, goodness. If the joint is sore, I can help you," I breathed out, taking a step forward. "I studied medical sciences in Grenoble. I may not be who you hope for, and I may not be a doctor, but I can help." I hesitantly let go of the man's arm. He looked down at the sidewalk for a moment, then out across the street, then off into the distance.
A change seemed to come over him when he turned around. Eyes gleaming and grin sharp, he extended his right hand out to me.
"I'm Edward Elric. Sorry if I scared you. It's nice to meet you, Annelise."
I sighed in relief, and shook his hand. Didn't flinch at the pressure he undoubtedly intended to be painful, and gave him a firm shake.
"You worked with Monsieur Heiderich, yes? On the rocket demonstration last year?"
Edward's eyes widened almost comically. "You—yeah, yeah that was us. I'm surprised you know about that."
"My employer takes great interest in the advance of technology." I let go of his hand and turned back to the direction I had been going in. Probably... Doctor Moore wouldn't mind if I brought in a stray. Especially one with a brain. "Also, I'm... sorry for your loss."
Edward followed next to me, hands in his pockets, as I lead him to the office. His expression felt bittersweet. "Thanks, but it's not like we were that close. Where are you taking me, anyways?"
"The office I work in. Doctor Moore has a few tools that—"
"Wait," Edward stopped, again, in the middle of the sidewalk. Turned me around again with another hand on my shoulder. The movement of his right arm seemed even more unnatural, now, and he didn't even try to mask the hiss of pain. "Doctor Moore? Physics and its Relation to the Unseen and Occult? That Moore?"
It was my turn to be wide-eyed and caught by surprise.
"Y-yes, that—you've heard of him?"
There was a darkness that passed in Edward's eyes, just for a moment. Something I couldn't understand. It was gone before I could think to ask about it.
We spent the next fifteen minutes walking and talking about Doctor Moore's theories, comparing personal interpretations of his work, and discussing Edward's prosthetic arm. Somewhere along the line, I learned that his left leg had also been lost. He didn't explain how, and I didn't ask why. The rise and violence of the nationalist regime alone had wreaked so much havoc. It wasn't my place to ask.
Once at the office, Doctor Moore didn't even ask why I had brought a stranger—and a man, no less—along with me. He simply offered Edward coffee and a seat by his desk. I didn't even need to do anything. I was promptly shooed away to continue working with the only functional typewriter as the Doctor worked on Edward's arm. He may have chosen physicist as a working title, but Doctor Moore was, at his core, a doctor. He was more than happy to help Edward with his arm.
As well as his damaged nerves. And sprained muscles, and torn ligament, and—
Needless to say, Edward ended up coming by the office every few weeks, after that. When I asked, before he left one day, he simply shrugged and stated that it was easier this way than constantly being judged by someone in the public practice. I would stay at my desk after that, quiet, serve coffee when asked. There was no doubt in my mind that Edward was there to dig into Doctor Moore's mind just as the doctor was happy to do the same in kind.

"At least make an effort to look happy, you sans-coeur," I whisper harshly, elbowing Edward in the ribs, careful not to drop the package in my hands.
"What are you talking about. I'm absolutely ecstatic."
"Pince-sans-rire."
The door opens to Gracia's glowing smile, the smell of mulled wine and the chatter of a small crowd. The roar of the fire I know is burning is buried under laughter.
"Boys! Annelise, I'm glad you could make it. Come in!" The opens the door wider. "Maes is by the fire with a few friends from the college. Noah should still be in the kitchen." The brother go through first; Edward practically makes a beeline to the kitchen, barely taking the time to toe off his shoes. Alphonse heads for the sitting room. As Gracia closes the door behind me, I stay by the landlady and offer her the blue, ribbon-tied box.
"Félicitations, Madame Hughes. I hope the pregnancy is going well," I say, handing over the box. The mother-to-be looks surprised, for a moment, before her face crumbles into grateful happiness.
"Thank you, Annelise," Gracia whispers, a hand on her swollen belly as she cradles the box to her chest. "For the gift, but for taking care of Edward and Alphonse. I know they're a handful."
I take care of putting my own coat and boots away, wrap my shawl tighter around my shoulders and follow Gracia to the kitchen. Alphonse is chuckling at something and Edward seems like he's violently trying not to smile. The darker-skinned woman, whom I assume is Noah, cuts herself off mid-sentence when she sees me. Gracia throws me a knowing look before puttering off somewhere else in the house to deposit the gift-box. Noah rushes over to me and clasps my hands in hers.
It takes a few uncomfortable second before she looks up at me. Tension seems to ease from her shoulders.
"It truly is good to finally meet you," she says quietly, slowly letting go of my hands. Her voice sounds like honey and silk. She returns to the counter where she was preparing what seems like dough for a pie. I can't help but stay riveted in place, looking up at the brothers.
Edward shrugs and Alphonse looks something akin to apologetic.
The Rroma are like that, I suppose.
The rest of the evening goes on mostly without any other strange incidents. I help Gracia and Noah in the kitchen after they manage to chase Alphonse and Edward out. Noah and I revel in the mulled wine and laugh together at the stories Gracia tells of the boys while they were still her tenants. When the turkey is ready and pulled out of the oven, you can feel the conversation dying in the rest of the home as everyone remembers that this is meant to be a Christmas dinner.
The table in the dining room is in fact two tables shoved together, and even then it's a tight fit for the twenty three people present. Maes offers a toast, in general at first, but then goes into specifics about a "return home to those who are lost" that seems to personally affect Edward and Noah more than anyone else.
The food is delicious. And I have never tasted a pie so sweet.
Once stomachs are full and eyes are glossy with satisfaction, coffee and tea are brought out. Edward and Maes ask for a Brandy nearly at the same time. I ask for another glass of wine. A man named Jean—presumably a friend of Maes—excuses himself to go smoke outside, but not before he's served a glass of Brandy of his own.
Most everyone retreats to the sitting and drawing rooms. Gracia and Noah make quick work of clearing the two tables in the dining room. Edward and I are the only ones who remain seated. I feel the pocket sewn into my shawl even more acutely at the moment.
"I know you don't celebrate Christmas, usually, but..." I start slowly, looking down into the deep maroon of my glass. I put it down on the table in front of me, and pull the small envelope from my shawl. "I have—someone.... merde que c'est dur à expliquer."
"It'd be easier if you didn't say it in French," Edward says, and though the tone his joking, his face seems uncertain.
"Not like you can't understand it," I mutter in reply. Take a deep breath, and slide the envelope across the table to him. "For a while, now, I've been having dreams I can't understand. Everyone looks the same, but everything is different."
Edward's hands slam on the table as he stands up. Excuses himself and sits back down when Gracia rushes over to see if everything's alright. She leaves, but only reluctantly, and only after I assure her it's fine.
"She had a message for you—the one I share a face with. I don't know if she knew I could see through her eyes, but I wrote it down as soon as I woke up." I wring my hands in my laps. I'm not sure how he'll take it. "Joyeux Noël, I suppose."
So many emotions cross through Edward's face when he tears open the envelope and unfolds the several pages inside. The complex circle the Other Me had drawn was hard to replicate and took several days—and dreams—to remember correctly. The notes were even harder to copy down, originally written in a code I couldn't begin to understand on my own. Without reading much of the letter proper, Edward lets his hands fall onto the table quietly and looks up at me.
"This... you know what this is, right?"
I hesitate before nodding. "I wasn't sure if your stories were ever true. I'm sorry—I know you and Alphonse always insist they are, but it's hard to believe. But doubt is a part of the scientific method, right? But think I understand, now. As much as I can. And if a little sacrifice means helping you and your brother go back home..."
Edward stands abruptly—again—and begins walking away. I stand up to go after him before realizing he's making his way around the table, pages still held tightly in his left hand.
I did not expect the tight embrace he wraps me in.
"Thank you," he whispers into my hair. My heart stutters. It takes a moment to decide to rest my hands on his sides.
"De rien," I whisper back, doing my best to ignore Gracia in the doorway and Maes sipping his drink somewhere behind me.
Edward seems to regain some sense of self and quickly holds me at arm's length away. His eyes are gleaming and he looks a second away from crying. I can't help but left out a breath of laughter.
"Sorry, I—it's just—"
"It's after coffee. Shall I go find your brother?"
Edward breaks into a smile, drops his arms by his side and tips his head back.
"Yeah. He'll want to head back when he sees this."
Gathering my shawl back over my shoulders, I quickly down the rest of my glass of wine, and venture out into the sitting room to find the younger brother. Jean has found a spot leaning against the fire place, warming his hands, and nods in my direction. Alphonse sits on one of the couches and talks animatedly with a dark-haired man, who greets me when I approach them. Introduces himself as simply Roy, and explains, as a matter of pure coincidence, that he will also be starting work under Doctor Moore after the holidays.
Eventually, once we manage to collectively pry ourselves away—from the other guests and Maes' incessant rambling about his wife—I let Edward and Alphonse walk ahead to talk among themselves. Edward won't be able to keep quiet until they get home, and Alphonse had firmly announced that they would walk me home no matter what.
As thick snowflakes lazily make their way down, onto the street and into my gloved hands, I begin to think that maybe this isn't too terrible. Maybe being a conduit to something bigger than myself is alright, if it means returning two lost boys home.
Put my hands into my coat pockets and amble behind the brothers.

I don't know why but I just love to show them off to my blog reader! lol It has a wonderfully written character, an interesting and complex story, and a great message about what it means to be human. There are many philosophical and moral ideas and themes, such as science and religion, science and humans, war, slaughter, militarism, and political corruption, to name a few. Without ruining the ending, it must be said that this is one of the most satisfying endings I've ever encountered, solidifying Edward Elric as one of my favorite protagonists. This story contains a little bit of everything. Any manga fan will find something they enjoy about it.The quality of the manga itself is excellent. Although it is bound with paper, it is convenient because the thorns are less likely to wrinkle. I think there are some minor contradictions in the translation, but it's easy to miss them in the grand planning of the story. The poster is a beautiful and nice size as a bonus.Hiromu Arakawa is a great mangaka and she praises writing this story. This is something I carry with me for the rest of my life.Well, I know it little pricey, that's why I give you another option - it's to buy per volume!Here's the example of Fullmetal Alchemist Volume 1... Just like I mentioned above the Fullmetal Alchemist manga has been adapted into 2 anime series - the 2003 version and the Brotherhood version in 2009.The differences?Brotherhood is a close adaptation of the manga, but the first few volumes are a bit shiny and, to be honest, a lot of them are omitted. That said, nothing left behind is explained, and everything left behind is featured in the 2003 show. The 2003 show is unsightly to diverge halfway, but filler episodes intended to set the original plot of the anime appear here and there in the first half.It's a good idea to look at both Brotherhood and 2003. Both have really good stories that are almost unique to the others. If you like the series enough, the manga is worth reading later.So, let's talk about the Fullmetal Alchemist anime, in case you want to collect its Blu-ray!

Fullmetal Alchemist continues today as one of the best anime series ever made. Not only does this collector edition deliver show justice, but it's also arguably one of the best Blu-ray releases Funimation has ever created.Moreover, it's a considered safe for younger audiences (9+)But overall, it's a series about two brothers who made a mistake and are trying to fix it. Since they are young, I think children over the age of 9 will benefit a lot from the story. But it's also a story that adults enjoy! So, you can make the Blu-ray as part of a gift for your children, as well!Watch it with your child and enjoy the ride quality.It's Worth Watching!!!Overall, it's an incredible series. This was not only the first Blu-ray release of the original FMA anime but also the first to be released in one complete package.  Let's Watch It! The show itself was great. It's usually people's opinion about which series is better. This or the Brotherhood. I look at this first sensation and say that this version focuses on many characters and you are becoming more fond of them. Next, take a look at Brotherhood. And the package itself was very clean and nice. My corner was a bit rough as it came with another item. Great animations, great voice acting, great characters, great plots.  Let's Watch it! This is top-notch for the people here. If you've never seen the original, you're following the manga more faithfully, so take a look. If you've seen the original, see this too. At first, it doesn't have the same emotional moments as the original anime but understands that they're trying to get past the old ones as soon as possible so they can reach that part. First of all, if you're a fan of Fullmetal Alchemist, this is a must. That said... Let's Watch it! This was a great ending to the series. Fans who watched episode 51 before this seemed a little disappointed at the end of the series itself. It was fairly open-ended and had little effect on the actual character resolution. But the movie is fixing this. It's a great ride from start to finish that will satisfy you when the end credits start rolling. It's a good idea to watch the FMA at least enough to get to know the character, without giving anything, but ideally, you should have watched the entire series before watching the movie.When it comes to video/audio, movies look great on Blu-ray. The colors are vibrant, the audio is crisp and clear... There are a few issues with line consistency, all of which are significantly improved over DVDs. If you like the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist, this is good for you. Well, if you like the series even a little, it's a good one to get again. So get it. Did you take it? good. Let's Watch it! It has four OVAs. It has been given a brief review of certain issues that are important to the world of Amestris and opposes alchemists in all states of the Homunculus (2003 series version).It's not interactive.  Instead, the viewer is addressed by different characters during the story, as if you were attending. This is followed by three short OVAs. The "Chibi Wrap Party" is set up as if the characters were gathering after the film "The Conqueror of Shambhala" was filmed. This is a live-action feature that shows that Al is looking for Ed in real-life Japan (models can be seen in various places in the live-action), and finally, Ed, Al, and Winry roam the modern city trying to meet someone for a special birthday. Dune, 2021 (absolutely stunning, cannot recommend enough, whether or not you’ve read the book)
Wolfwalkers, 2020 (I loved the first two films in the Irish Mythology trilogy and this one completely blew me away)
Black Widow, 2021 (found family, no romantic subplots which is practically unheard of, women kicking ass, and a canon ace character? Sign me tf up)

Still ongoing and basically 80 chapters of Edward Elric bitching about wizards and saying fuck 3,000 times. I hadn’t laughed this hard since I read The Martian.)

Five good/positive things that happened to you in 2021
Seeing friends again!! I got to go visit a good college friend I hadn't seen in years since we graduated, and another friend I'd only seen once since we graduated came to visit twice! (Why do all my friends live across the country?)
I wrote. So much. Fanfiction 🤣 Hit a major slump this fall when rising COVID cases in my area started to make work hellish again, but I'm starting to get back into it!
Started therapy for the first time back in May. Also recently started a new antidepressant, after a bad adverse reaction scared me off from them for a while. Still have a long ways to go, but I'm feeling much better, and I haven't had an anxiety attack at work since.
Realized I'm asexual! Which explains soooo much about my life 🤣 Still coming to terms with it in some respects, but simply knowing brings so much peace and pride in my identity.
I got a Tumblr in 2020 but this was the year I really started becoming active in a few fandoms and really connecting with people on here! It's been a blast, and I love freaking out about shared interests with you all💕

Progress evaluations are one-on-one consultation meetings between academy students and their teacher. Their purpose is to inform academy students of their strengths and weaknesses and guide them down their ideal path to becoming a strong shinobi. Upon graduating the academy and passing their jounin-sensei test, new genin return to the academy for one final consultation. (Or: The story of what happens when Umino Iruka uses his final meetings with his students as way to send them off to become the best shinobi they can possibly be.)

In this incarnation of TMNT, the turtles fight the evil Kraang. Their main target is April O'Neil. The reasons why have been kept vague until it is revealed that she herself is a mutant! Not any mutant but a combination of Kraang and human DNA.
9. The Philosopher Stone is made out of People (Fullmetal Alchemist series)
Brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric committed the ultimate taboo and attempted to bring back their deceased mother. However, in the process Ed lost his arm and leg while Alphonse lost his body and became a soul bound to a suit of armor. The brothers came to believe that only the philosopher stone, who is said to hold unlimited alcchemic potential, was the only way to get their bodies back to normal. That dream is shattered when they learn that the stone is made by killing thousands of people.

8. The Author was Stan's Twin Brother (Gravity Falls)
Gravity Falls is a town that holds many secrets. During their summer visiting their great uncle Stan, Dipper and Mabel discover a mysterious book that holds the secrets that lie beneath Gravity Falls. A major theme throughout this show is "who is the author" the mystery twins encounter many strang things in their quest to find out who they are. Only to have it revealed that Stan's brother was the author.
7. Chad is still in the KND (Codename Kids Nextdoor)
In the beginning of this series, Chad or #274, was the leader of the KND. Until his 13th birthday, when he betrayed them. Throughout the series Chad joins the KNDs nemesis, the teenagers, and takes a part in their plots to destroy the KND. However, when #1 is given a chance to take him out, Chad reveals that he never left the KND and was working as a spy.
6. Grandpa Max was a Plumber (Ben 10)
Ben 10 tells the story of ten year old Ben Tennyson who is on summer vacation with is grandfather and cousin, traveling the U.S in an old RV. On the first night Ben finds the Omnitrex, a device that allows him to transform into different aliens.
By the end of the first season Max reveals that he was a Plumber, an intergalactic police officer, and had know the whole time what the Omnitrex was and the Aliens Ben transformed into. While not a huge twist (the series would have some bigger ones as it continued) it was still a shock to learn that Max knew what was going on the whole time.
5. Rose betrayed the Huntsclan (American Dragon: Jake Long)
Dragon Jake Long fell in love with a member of The Huntsclan, Rose or Huntsgirl. However, she in turn fell in love with Jake not knowing that he was a dragon. Rose gets the chance to kill Jake, if she does she will become a full fledged member, but Jake shows her his human face. In turn she lets him go and runs away.
During the second season, the Huntsclan attemp to destroy every magical creature by using mythical skulls that grant anyone who brings them together a perfect wish (Think the dragonballs). In the last moment she strikes down her master and instead wishes for the destruction of the Huntsclan, knowing that that will include her.

4. Rose Quortz was Pink Diamond (Steven Universe)
Many believed that Rose Quortz, the leader of the resistance and mother of Steven, had shattered Pink Diamond, one of the heads of the Gems. However it is revealed in season 5 that she WAS pink diamond and had faked her own death to protect the Earth.
3. Nagisa's blood lust came from his mother (Assassination Classroom)
Class 3E is the bottom of society, but they have been given the chance of a lifetime. A being who can move at mock 20 says that he will destroy the Earth in one year, unless one of them can Assassinate him. He takes on the role of their homeroom teacher to better prepare them.
Out of all the students in 3E, Nagisa Shoita was the lest impressive. He was small, weak, and looked more feminine than his female classmates. Yet, Nagisa has the national talent of an assassin. He managed to get the drop on their gym teacher, a man who is skilled in many fighting styles, and took down an ex military officer (twice). He has surprised his classmates with his abilities, feom getting the drop on top assassins, including their homeroom teacher, to installing fear with just a glare.
However, this came at a price. His mother is abusive beyond reason. She forces Nagisa to grow his hair long, makes him wear dresses and other feminine clothing. On several occasions she has bashed his head into solid objects. She is unpredictable, forcing Nagisa to do what all children in that situation do, learn to control his emotions and read the thoughts of others. This woman created a viper.

2. Eric Cartman and Scott Tenerman are brothers (South Park)
Cartmans mom has always been loose. The identity of her son's father was likely going to stay a mystery. But during the second episode of season 2 we get our answer (kinda). The answer was given now we could move on.
In a later episode Cartman gets scammed and humiliated by Scott Tenerman, an older teenager. So, Cartman devises a scheme. In the end Scotts parents are dead and eaten in some chille.
Many seasons later its revealed that Scott's Father and Eric's are one and the same. Ms. Cartman amd the town had lied about his identity in order to protect his public image. Thus Cartman killed his own father.
1. Zak Saturday is Kur (The Secret Saturdays)
From the beginning I knew this would be number one.
The Secret Saturdays is about a family of scientists who study crypteds, or strange creatures with unique abilities. The most dangerous was Kur, a creature said to have the power to raise a crypted army and take over the world. Zak has the ability to manipulate crypteds leaving him and his family to believe that shoukd Kur be unleashed onto the world, Zaks power woukd be the only thing that coukd stop it.
At the end of season 1, the truth is revealed that Zak IS Kur.
The entire first season is dedicated to finding Kur and talking about how dangerous he is. Then it turns out that it's Zak, a 12 year old boy with a kind heart. I cannot describe how shocked I was, then having to wait years to find out the outcome (we moved around alot) killed me.

The Stars are Bright Enough, my Dear
For the first five years of her life, Winry Rockbell lived in a modest apartment in East City.  Her parents were both doctors, but her mother only worked part-time so she could look after Winry, and both her parents found time for her and loved her very much.
When she was five, her father sat her down and told her that he and her mother were going to have to go away, maybe for a very long while.  That they still loved her very much, but that they were needed somewhere else.  He told her that he and her mother were going to go to Ishval to help people, and she was going to go to Risembool to live with her grandmother.  He told her all this very simply and very seriously and asked her if she understood.  And Winry, five years old and very, very brave, whose parents had taught her kindness all her life, said, “Yes, Daddy,” as solemnly as she knew how.
So, a couple months later, Winry hugged her parents goodbye on the train platform, and she cried a long time, and she was a little scared to be going away to live with her grandmother, who she only knew from a few weeks visiting in the summers and monthly phone calls, but she pretended not to be.  (And her parents hugged their little girl, and they wiped their tears away before they could really begin falling, and they were very scared to be going off to a warzone, but of course they pretended not to be.)
That first year, Winry probably spent more time at the Elric’s than her Grandmother’s.  Nothing against Granny, of course, Granny was wonderful, but the Elric boys made more interesting company for a little girl, and Mrs. Elric made the best cookies.
Looking back on it, Winry would remember that first year in Risembool as a sort of pinnacle of her childhood, a time full of lighthearted adventure, a time when nothing bad had ever happened, and it felt as though nothing ever could.  That isn’t true, of course.  It is a hard thing for a child to lose everything she’s known, to lose her parents.  Those first few months, especially, were difficult, with everything so quiet and strange.  But the Elrics, then and always, were like a force of nature, so much louder and larger than life, and they swept her up with them in all their adventures to see the world as they did, and for them, 1904 was the year before things began to go wrong.
The year that Winry was six years old, Mr. Hohenheim went away.  He did not sit his sons down very seriously and explain where he was going and what he needed to do, he did not ask them if they understood, and he did not say a tearful goodbye on the train platform.  He simply stood up one day and left.
Edward Elric was enraged, six years old and ready to fight the whole world, but mostly his father (whom he only called “That Jerk” because he didn’t know the word “bastard” or “Fucker” yet) if he could get his hands on him.  Alphonse was mostly sad and confused, and he trailed after Ed like a baby duckling, partly because Ed was his older brother, and Al clung to him in a world that no longer made sense, but also because even at five, Al considered it his job to look after Ed and make sure that he didn’t get himself or anyone else hurt.
“Maybe,” Winry said to Ed one sunny day, “Maybe he had a good reason to leave.  Maybe he had somewhere he needed to be, maybe there’s something important he needs to do.”
“Bulshit!” Ed said.  “Shit” was a word Ed had only learned recently, and he knew his mother didn’t like him to say it, so he used it sparingly, exactly, like a hidden knife to be pulled out as a last resort.
“That’s bulshit,”  Ed said, “That Jerk didn’t have a good reason.  There’s no such thing.  Parents aren’t supposed to leave their kids, not ever!”
And Winry, Winry didn’t know what to say to that.
Mrs. Elric died on a late spring morning almost a year after Mr. Hohenheim left.  Winry went to her funeral, it was the first funeral she had ever been to. 
Ed and Al stood on either side of her, like they couldn’t bare to stand next to each other, like maybe if they looked at each other they’d hurt each other with their sadness.  Alphonse had sobbed silently, shaking, with tears streaming down his cheeks so hard and fast that Winry was vaguely worried he’d get dehydrated, but not making a sound.  Ed had sniffled violently, dashing his tears away with angry motions of one hand, while he held on to Winry’s so hard with the other that it hurt.  Winry had been the only one who cried like a normal person, noisily, with snot getting everywhere.  She felt a little silly doing it, because Mrs. Elric wasn’t her mother, but Ed and Al were both so quiet it scared her, and someone had to break that silence, and anyway, she couldn’t stop.
Edward took to grief with anger, as if he could beat it into submission.  But since there was no one to be angry at in this instance, he was merely sullen and bad-tempered and prone to blowing up at everyone at the drop of a hat.  Al was a forlorn and equally stubborn shadow following him.
Both brothers refused to move in with Granny and Winry.
Winry was seven years old and not prone to patience, and she didn’t understand people yet, quite as well as she thought she did.
“I wasn’t this silly when I was five,” Winry said.
“What do you know?”  Edward yelled, “It’s not like your parents died.”
Winry would get a letter from her parents twice in a year, if she was lucky.  She had learned to write sending them letters, she wrote to them every single day at first, until her little hands ached and sloppy letters filled the page.  She knew that they never received most of them.  As time went on her letters dwindled, until now she only thought to write to them every few months.  The last time Winry had written to her parents was soon after Mrs. Elric’s funeral.  She had been halfway through writing it when she realized that her parents didn’t really know Mrs. Elric, and she broke down crying and never finished the letter.
Winry listened to the radio and wondered how much of what it said was true.  She was seven years old and just beginning to understand what war was, beginning to see the edges of it.  She helped Granny with the soldiers stumbling home, saw their scars and missing limbs, saw the things even Granny couldn’t fix, and heard their stories sometimes, when they thought she wasn’t listening.
“It’s not like your parents died,” Ed said, and Winry screamed right back at him.
“They could have!  They could have died months ago, and we wouldn’t know.”
Ed and Winry didn’t speak to each other for a long while after that.
“It’s our house, Winry,”  Al explained in the end,  “We can’t just leave it behind, because if we moved in with you it would still be our house, and it would still be right there, just sadder.  We can’t live next door to us, it wouldn’t work.”
The Elric house had belonged to Mrs. Elric’s parents before they died.  Ed and Al had lived there all their lives and so had their mother.  Winry supposed that Granny could remember a time when the Elric house hadn’t been built yet and there weren’t Elrics living in it, but most people probably couldn’t.
Winry’s memories of the city were growing fuzzy around the edges, so far away it felt like another world.  And even then it had only been the apartment, and her parents had only been renters.   But Granny’s house was still Granny’s house, the place she’d come to visit every summer of her life.  Even after two years it still felt like a long, extended visit, even if she had begun to have an unpleasant, twisty feeling in her stomach that her parents were never coming back, and she would stay here forever.  Even if she had the even more unpleasant twistier feeling, that she couldn’t picture a world where her parents did come back.  She couldn’t imagine living in a place where she didn’t know everyone by name in a ten mile radius, couldn’t walk down to the general store by herself and do the shopping, couldn’t wander all across the hills and half-drown herself in the creek with the Elric brothers. She couldn’t imagine ever leaving Risembool now, couldn’t imagine leaving Granny or the Elrics.  But still, it was Granny’s house and not hers.  It was different for Ed and Al.
“Okay,” Winry said, and that was the end of it as far as she was concerned.
Granny, of course, had her own opinions, but in the face of steadfast Elrics, there’s really nothing that anyone can do.   Ed and Al ate and washed their clothes with Granny and Winry, and they even took their baths in Granny’s big copper tub, but every night they went to bed in their own house.
For another two years things were alright, they were comfortable.  Winry and the Elric brothers continued to be the young terrors of Risembool.  They didn’t spend so much time playing games of pretend, games began to feel a little too hollow, the real world to spread about them a little too real, for them to want to play at being legendary alchemists or heroes of myth.  At least Winry supposed that was Ed’s reasoning.  She herself had never been that passionate about larger than life fantasies, only happy to follow in the brothers’ wake and familiarize herself with the wide, sprawling country.  They still wandered, free as the wind, ditching school to alternately be an annoyance underfoot, and help out in the surrounding farms.  Ed and Al studied their father’s books, advancing in alchemy in leaps and bounds, while Winry spent more and more time helping Granny with automail surgery.  But the year that Winry was nine, in the spring shortly after Alphonse’s birthday, the Elrics left.
It was an inevitable sort of thing, the Elrics were never the sort of people who stayed, and there had been a kind of frantic energy in them, ever since their mother died, that only built and built as time went on.  They said they had learned all they could from their father’s books, and were looking for a teacher, which was fair and true enough, even if Winry would have preferred if they were more patient.
“Those boys,” Granny said, “Will either kill themselves or change the world.  There's no stopping them either way.”
As someone who had spent two years trying and failing to tell the Elrics what to do, Winry supposed she was an expert.  
As for Winry, she felt a little lonely and strangely left out, but she didn’t have much time to dwell on it.  
Not long after, in that same year, the Rockbells received a telegram.  Winry’s parents were dead.
Winry stared blankly at the typed words.  There wasn’t much in the way of typewriters in Risembool.  Print was for the newspapers and schoolbooks, impersonal, having nothing to do with her.  Winry stared at the odd, blocky letters, and it didn’t feel real, like a story from somewhere far away.
Well, she supposed it was that, technically.  
Granny had tears in her eyes.  That was the surrealest part of all.  Granny and crying did not belong in the same universe.
Winry didn’t cry.  She thought she should.  She had cried for Mrs. Elric, she should cry for her own mother.  But she didn’t. 
It didn't feel any different, was the strange thing.  She caught herself forgetting.  Wondering if her parents would send a letter, wondering if she should write, and then remembering that they were dead.  She hadn’t written them in months.
When Mrs. Elric died it had been like the entire world had shifted, like she had left an eternal hole In Ed and Al, a gaping, black void that could never be filled.  There had been a fire in Edward’s eyes, a rage, all consuming, roaring, unstoppable.  There had been an emptiness in Alphonse’s, less noticeable, quiet, but vast, and to Winry, at least, who knew them so well, both before and after, far more frightening.
Winry looked at herself in the mirror, and she didn’t see any difference at all.
Then she did cry.  Curled up on her bed, wondering what was wrong with her, that she wasn’t broken, and feeling ridiculous for it.  She cried.  For her parents, for Ed and Al, for something she couldn’t reach, and didn’t know.
The Elrics, she knew, were hardly a good template for healthy grieving, but they were the only example she knew of children who had lost their parents.  
She had grieved her parents once, when she was five years old and lonely.  She had been so very sad then, those first few months.  She tried to remember it.  Tried to feel what her younger self had felt for parents who were so very large and kind and real.  But all the edges were blunted.  She thought her mother’s hair had been light brown, but she couldn’t be sure.  She wondered if it had actually been blond, and she had blended her with Mrs. Elric.
She had grieved once, when she was five years old, but she had not understood then.  And she had been so sure they would be back soon.  Maybe a few months, maybe a year, and for a five year old that was practically forever, but then again it was nothing like forever at all.
She had not quite grieved when her parents left, and now, four years later, it was too late, and she grieved the loss of her grieving.
The Elrics came back in March, just after Winry’s tenth birthday.  The Elrics came back as, Winry realized, she had never doubted they would.  She and Granny welcomed them home with plenty of yelling, and all the hugs they would allow (some, in Al’s case, and very few, accompanied by loud protestations in Ed’s).
Ed had always had a knack for getting into fights, and Al had always had always had a knack for getting out of them, one way or another.  But now it seemed that someone had gone and given them actual training, which was vaguely terrifying.  They also seemed to have found their alchemy teacher, and were brimming with alchemical ambition.  
Given all of that, and given that Winry herself was now something of a full time apprentice/assistant to Granny, and had to attend school at least three days out of five because Granny said so (and Winry wasn’t the sort of girl who ran off and disregarded everything her legal guardian said just because she wasn’t her “real parents”) they didn’t spend as much time together as they used to.  But still, it was good to have them back, even if “back” sometimes just meant she could see the lights on next door at three o’clock in the morning.  It was comforting to know they weren’t off who knows where in the wide, wide world, like somehow she could watch over them.
What time they did spend together, they mostly spent in Mr. Hohenheim’s study, talking.  Ed and Al were only interested in Science, they considered themselves to be adults now, and had left more childish pursuits behind.  At barely-ten-years-old, Winry thought this might be just a little premature, but then again, who was she to say no to Science?
So she and the Elric boys spent long happy hours debating the merits of different metals and alloys.  Ed and Al knew all sorts of things about atomic structures and the interactions between elements that Winry was eager to learn.  They seemed to have returned from their journey of self discovery with a keen interest in anatomy and human biology, and Winry happily answered all the questions she knew, and looked up what she didn’t with them. 
There were some things, of course, that Winry didn’t know, and neither did Granny, automail was hardly a general field.  Risembool didn’t have a library, or much that could satisfy the Elrics’ voracious appetite for knowledge.  Mr. Hohenheim had quite a bit about biological alchemy, but of course the boys had read it all through multiple times by now.
My parents would have known, Winry thought.  Odd, how she thought of them more now that they were dead than she ever had when they were alive.
Thinking of her parents, though, gave her an idea. “We could take the train to the City, just over the weekend,” Winry said, “They have the library there, it’s free and they let anyone read the books, at least the medical ones.”
“Why didn’t I think of that,”  Ed said.
Winry asked Granny’s permission to go to the City, because she was polite (yes, really) and not an Elric.  Granny gave it in the way that meant she knew perfectly well that her asking was just a formality.  The way of a person who did not exactly think that her grandaughter taking an overnight train to a large city with only two other children for company was exactly a good idea, but who had more or less discovered the uselessness of “putting your foot down” when a couple of recently bereaved little boys had concluded that the concept of adult supervision was optional.
It was strange to be in the City again.  She had forgotten what it smelled like, and yet it was simultaneously the most familiar scent in the world.  She hadn’t been here since she was five years old, and early childhood felt like another dimension, which she was now looking in on from the outside, too big to fit in it, and too small to reach its bigness.
Ed and Al took the lead as they headed out through the city in search of the library, and that was its own sort of strangeness.  Edward always led the way at home, of course.  He was, as he was always reminding her, the oldest.  But Winry could remember when they were all very small, and she told them stories of the City, how she had told them there were buildings made of concrete that went up and up and up, and had metal inside for bones, and how Eward and Alphonse had stared at her with wide, wide eyes and didn’t believe a word.  Now they were Men of the World, and she was only a little girl from Risembool, who could hardly believe that the buildings went up so high without falling over, even if they were smaller than she remembered.
Or, well, really Ed and Al were still only a pair of small, country boys, even if Ed thought he was a man, and they were doing their fair share of wide-eyed staring.  But Alphonse knew how to weaponize that, and got them good directions instead of muggings.  As always, Alphonse was a little terrifying. 
They reached the library and Ed and Al were in love.  The rows upon rows of books were certainly impressive, but personally Winry preferred places with more grease and metal and an actual human patient, alive and messy.  Books were important and necessary for understanding what you were doing, but she preferred the doing, she’d take metal and gears and good old fashioned elbow grease over the library any day.  But then, that was alchemists for you, alchemy was all theory that sometimes somehow became reality.  Or blew up in your face.
That being said, Winry still dove headfirst into this treasure trove of knowledge, and she was surprised to learn just how much she already knew about medicine.  Ed and even Alphonse were geniuses in such a loud, flashy sort of way, they shone so very brightly, that Winry had never thought of herself as anything exceptional, she was the ordinary to balance out their ridiculousness.  So it was a bit of a shock to realize that at the age of ten she knew more about, say, the human nervous system than most doctors.
Eventually though, Winry got bored of arguing with the Elrics about exactly how much selenium there was in the human body (answer: who the hell cares?) and wandered over to the mechanical engineering section instead.
Looking back, Winry could hardly believe she hadn’t realized the boys were about to do something incredibly stupid, as though as long as they were right in front of her nothing bad could happen.
One night Winry was woken by a loud, metallic banging sound.  When she ran down the stairs and opened the door, a huge suit of armor was carrying most of Edward Elric. 
Winry had never once been sick at the sight of the parts of a human that were never meant to be seen beneath the skin and flesh, and she refused to be sick now.  Instead, she scrambled to stop the bleeding and tried to remember what blood type Ed was.  Granny was there moments after Winry was, and together they managed to mostly keep him from leaking and get him to surgery where they got some replacement blood into him.  The suit of armor had Alphonse’s voice, but that was a problem for later.
Ed wasn’t dead. That’s all that could be said for him, really, he wasn’t dead.
In the end, Alphonse told them the story of it, how he and Ed had tried to bring their mother back, how Ed had traded his arm for Alphonse’s soul and sealed him into the armor.  It all sounded like some sort of nightmareish fairytale. 
She and Granny manhandled Ed into a wheelchair in the morning, and manhandled him into the Granny had made up for him all those years ago when Mrs. Elric died.  He looked terrifyingly small with half his limbs gone, he looked terrifyingly small, broken and quiet and defeated.  Ed spent the days sitting in his wheelchair, silent and unmoving, like a dead thing.  Alphonse sat next to him in a heap of metal, silent and perfectly still, like something that had never been alive.  It was difficult to keep from staring at Ed.  Winry was used to seeing people who were missing limbs, some of them chose to get automail and some of them didn’t, but it was Ed’s quiet that was so loud, so wrong, so impossible to ignore. 
Winry didn’t know what to do.  She wanted to scream at Ed, she wanted to help somehow, she wanted to snap him out of it.  But Winry had matured since she was seven.  She knew that wasn’t how trauma worked, she knew better than to yell at people who were hurt.  So Winry tried to be quiet and she tried to be kind.  It only added to the bizarreness of the situation, and if Ed were in any state to notice would have found it very creepy.  (Alphonse did notice, and later he would tell her that he appreciated the effort, but please never be nice again.)
Then, a random soldier walked into their house, yelled at Ed, and snapped him out of it.
If anyone asked, Winry wouldn’t have been able to explain why it needed to be her who made the automail, she just knew that it had to be.  It had something to do with Ed, the way that he prickled at charity, the way he could never quite trust Granny, even if he loved her very much deep down, and it had something to do with Winry, the way he was her best friend, the way she felt responsible, and the way that this felt like a milestone with no turning back, one the Elrics had already crossed and she needed to be a part of.
Winry was ready.  She knew her way around a wrench and a scalpel.  She had been helping Granny for years, and she was very good at it.  She knew she was ready, and she knew it had to be Ed.
Granny did not ask questions when Winry told her what she wanted. She only looked her up and down, as if weighing every inch of her.
“Alright,”  Granny said, “Do it properly then.”
Winry did do it properly.  She kept her construction of the arm and leg simple, even though her mind was buzzing with innovations she wanted to try out.  She only made sure that it was easy to modify as Ed grew taller and she found ways of improving it.
And at the age of eleven, Winry performed her first surgery.  
When Winry Rockbell was eleven years old she walked with her two best friends to the train platform.  She hugged Al even though he couldn’t feel it, because she knew he would appreciate it anyway.  She didn’t hug Ed, because she knew he wouldn’t appreciate it, and because she thought if she hugged him she might never let go.  She had promised herself she wouldn’t cry, she had been sure she wouldn’t, but she cried, a little, anyway.
“You understand why we have to go, right?” Ed asked, with that pinched look he had always gotten on his face when she cried for as long as she could remember.
“Of course,”  Winry said with a firm nod of her head.  Because despite all the times over the past year she’d yelled at him and called him an idiot, all the times she tried to change his mind, of course she understood.
So the Elrics went away to join the military, and Winry stood on the train platform in Risembool and watched them go.

Coming Home
So people are starting to self-isolate for their health, and of course that means I’m going create content to make their lives just a little better! Whether you are separated from friends or family and/or sick I hope my content makes things a little brighter.
Here’s some Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood for now. Three tiny one shots. Can be taken as one or three. So...a three-shot? Post-canon but before that one picture :). Will maybe try to get some Zelda stuff out ahead of “schedule” but we’ll see. She says as if she had a schedule in the first place.
Stay safe, be kind and considerate to others, all that good human being stuff.
“Rockbell Automail, how can I help you?”
“Um…”
Ed snickered away from the phone.
“Yeah, I’d like to make an appointment,” he continued with his signature smug smirk.
“Are you a returning customer?”
“…no.”
What a lie.
“So, a consultation then?”
“A week from today,” Ed said. “Three o’clock.”
Winry was surprised at how forward he was, yet she scheduled it anyway.
“Okay, you’re in the books,” she said, closing the pen while holding the phone on her shoulder with her head.
“Oh, I almost forgot! What’s your name?”
Ed smiled and leaned back in his chair, placing his right foot on his left leg in a relaxed position. With a casual tease, he started,
“You might know me as the Fullme—”
“ED!” She exclaimed, Ed leaning away from the loud noise with a chuckle.
“You jerk!” He heard her say once he returned to the transceiver. “I wrote that in pen!”
“Wait,” she heard, just right before she was about to cross it off. 
“Keep it,” he said before hanging up abruptly and bursting out in laughter, Winry simultaneously letting out an excited inhale with wide eyes.
“Alphonse!”

Winry clasped her hands as the train came to a stop, puffs of steam billowing around the steel plating until they cleared.
Her long, blonde hair had been blown by the exhaust, yet now it settled, dangling upon her shoulders. 
She stood right where she last saw him, the exact spot that he disguised a proposal as a desperate exclamation of the “laws of equivalent exchange”. She wondered if all alchemists were so set in their ways and words.
Then again, Edward Elric likely didn’t know of any other way to say it.
She maintained the anticipation in her heart as people started to step off the train, greeting them with a soft smile while still leaning her head left and right to get the first glimpse of him.
And, of course, he was the last to appear, his flamboyant nature to make every entrance his and his alone not quite lost. 
Edward beamed a great big smile at the sight of Winry.
He stepped off the train and didn’t stop, his bag releasing from his fingers as he walked to Winry like only she mattered.
His bag could fall to the tracks for all he cared.
Winry giggled as he approached, Edward bringing both his hands to her cheeks.
“How’s your le—mm…”
With a downward tilt of his neck he had captured his lips with hers, Winry returning the gesture by going in her tiptoes and placing a hand on the back of his head.
She withdrew as she came back down, Winry pursing her lips with a gaze angled slightly downward. It was as if she was trying to contain a laugh.
“What?” He asked with a chuckle.
Ed looked to his right, doing a double take before he registered their audience in his mind.
“Oh,” he said, his face bluing and paling as he seemed to shrink down, hunching over with his arms hanging down.
Before the couple was Pinako Rockbell, Mei Chang, and Alphonse Elric, all with mouths popped open in shock.
“Who knew that two months in the West would make Edward Elric such a romantic?” Winry asked, running her fingers through his hair before rearranging it the smallest ways.
“Only for you, my dear,” he grumbled.
“B-brother…” Alphonse stammered.
Ed perked up immediately, scratching the back of his head.
“H-hey, Al.”
“How come we never do that!” Mei exclaimed pointedly at Alphonse with her hands on her hips.
“Whoa,” Alphonse said, holding his hands out. His face was burning red. “H-hold on.”
Pinako paid them no mind, pacing towards Edward and Winry.
“It’s about time you came home,” she said. “I don’t want to see you and your brother continue your father’s nasty habit of staying away.”
“You know I couldn’t stay away for long,” Ed replied as Winry took notice of his bag, grabbing it before returning to his side. “I guess you could say that my life is here.”
“I see,” Pinako replied before starting a walk off. “Come now, Mei, let’s finish teaching you how to make that pie.”
“Alphonse’s favorite pie!” She exclaimed as fisted hands squeezed her cheeks, the light in her eyes so big that it almost washed out her surroundings. “Are you coming, Al?”
“Yeah, I’ll catch up in a bit,” he said, prompting Mei to walk along the path with Pinako.
He looked to his brother with a warm smile, both with golden eyes that teased tears. 
All this time and Edward still knew to treasure how lucky he was to have his brother. After everything they had been through, to hold him in the flesh was something he hoped he’d never take for granted.
So, no words needed to be said as they hugged each other, the presence of the other such a familiar comfort even when they let go.
“I hope you didn’t have to much fun in the East without me,” Ed said.
Al gave a small laugh, his shoulders going up and down with a shrug.
“Nothing I can’t recall.”
“Good,” Ed said.
Winry handed the bag to Ed before they started walking along, Ed slinging it over his shoulder.
They watched Alphonse run to catch up with Pinako and Mei, Winry surprised by the sensation of Ed’s left hand entangling with hers.
She looked to him, yet his focus was on the horizon, that determined gaze he would get when he knew he would win a fight or when he was about to clap his hands together to perform alchemy.
Only now it was softer, his eyes brightened by the sunny day, those golden eyes catching light in such a mesmerizing way.
“Granny has been calling me Winry Elric ever since you left,” Winry said as they strolled along the path. “She refuses to address me by anything else.”
Ed smiled to himself.
“Why would she call you that?” He teased.
Ed’s smile released further when Winry purposely and playfully bumped into him.
“That’s all you’ve got?” he retorted.
“I didn’t bring my wrench.”
“You might need a whole stash if we’re getting married.”
“Already taken care of, pipsqueak.”

Winry grabbed a wrench from the tray beside her, running her thumb up and down its’ edge with a smile.
This was the wrench she had used when she first built his automail appendices, the arm and the leg that were taken because he loved his mother and brother so much.
She looked to him now, laying on his bent arms with his hands clasped behind his head, staring at the ceiling.
The strength in him was truly in his care for others, how that never faltered, never degraded due to fear. His love, all love, is what makes humans greater than their sins, their lust, their greed, their gluttony, their envy, their sloth, their wrath, their pride. Edward knew well that to forget love and compassion was the greatest sin of them all. 
So, to have his love was the greatest blessing Winry could ever hope for.
Perhaps young and naive to some, that young boy he once was knew little of the world and its’ rules, performing the taboo with only one consequence in mind. Some might warrant him a monster for attempting human transmutation, damning his brother’s body and his own limbs just to see the life in their mother’s smile.
Yet, there are far worse monsters than those who value, above all else, life.
There was, after all, no equal trade for life. Unparalleled are the bounds by which it portends, for miles and miles, infinite reaches to foreign places. The truth is, that life could only come from love, and vice versa.
Winry shook her head, pulling her out of the trance.
Using the wrench, she tightened the mechanisms, Edward repositioning his head to comfortably look at her.
“You’re beauti—AAH!”
He sat up straight at the sensation.
“WINRY, I SWEAR TO TRUTH!”
“Sorry,” Winry said. “I may have gone too far.”
Edward’s head fell back onto the pillow with a sigh.
“You were saying?” She prompted with a smirk.
“You’re a real piece of work,” Ed said, grumbling, his forearm on his forehead.
Winry’s expression grew into a smile as she adjusted his automail’s tightness.
“And,” he started, blushing. “You…y-you’re beautiful.”
Winry started to blush as well.
“As beautiful as any human can be, n-not that there are laws to dictate—”
“Do male alchemists know anything about talking to girls?” Winry interrupted, replacing the wrench in her hand with a screwdriver
“Probably not,” Ed replied, relieved that he was stopped from blabbering on.
“If our Flame Alchemist is any indication,” she said. “I’d have to agree.”
Winry sat back in her chair.
“How does that feel?”
“Better,” Ed said, sitting up completely and testing slight movements of his leg.
Winry stood up, collecting her things.
“If I don’t get to my room soon, Granny will tease me for the rest of my life.”
“You mean the rest of her life.”
Winry chuckled.
“Sometimes I feel like she’s going to outlive us a—EEK!”
Edward had suddenly grabbed her by the waist, giving her no choice but for her to surrender to his hold, them both falling to the bed.
“Ed!” She yelled, laughing as he tickled her with a mischievous grin. “Ed, stop!”
He stopped immediately, her back now flush against his chest, his hands hugging her waist.
“I love you, you know that, right?” He asked near her ear.
She turned herself to face him, cupping her hand at his cheek.
Winry kissed him deeply and passionately, Ed matching if not surpassing the desperation.
“Does that answer your question, pipsqueak?”
“Will I ever live that down?”
“Not until you drink milk.”
Edward grumbled indistinguishably as Winry stood up to leave.
He sat up with a thankful smile as she neared the door, his eyes full of love. He couldn’t stay mad at her long.
Winry opened the door only to see Alphonse about to knock at it, Winry raising her eyebrows in surprise.
“Hi, umm,” Alphonse said, lowering his arm. “Could you keep the noise down? Some of us still have sleep to catch up on. You know, being a suit of armor and all.”
“It’s been two years, Al,” Ed said dryly, unamused.
“Still…”
“I was just about to leave anyway,” Winry said, assuring him.
“Yippee,” Alphonse said unenthusiastically as he walked off. He did sound tired.
Winry gave Edward a peck on the lips where he sat on the foot of his bed.
“Goodnight,” he said out of the kiss.
“Goodnight, Fullmetal Alchemist,” Winry said, closing the door behind her and departing.

It’d happened faster than  he cared to admit. This brat taunting him, and then the next thing he knows there’s a building coming down around them. Bastard disappeared before he had a chance to keep track of him. There was a family inside. There was a woman and her children and he couldn’t stand by and watch them die in order to chase after that son of a bitch.

Hands clapped together and walls raised to hold up the collapsing building around them, Edward racing over to the to make sure they were fine. Checking for wounds and using his alchemy to clear them a path, but the ground was still shaking and the building still coming down around them. A board struck him in the back of the skull and the blond hit the ground. 
Everything was black. 
He woke to that bastard’s face and rope tied around his wrists. Where is he? He doesn’t know. His head hurts. He’s dizzy, but still his shoulders roll and his wrists tug as his arms move while he tries to snap the rope that binds them. 
Sonnavabitch is goin’ ta regret the day he fucked with Edward Elric. 
He’s growling and hissing, ready to spit fire at his captor. This is fucking bullshit, absolute fucking bullshit. Bastard’s smart though. Bound him at the wrists and the ankles. He can’t just get up and run, or kick the fucker for taking him lightly.  He will though as soon as he gets these ropes loose enough. He’ll break that bastard’s nose with one solid shot right to squared center of his face. 
So all he can do is listen right now and he hates it. 
He’s prattling on about some alchemy bullshit and normally Edward would have tuned right in but this fucking bastard pisses him off. He’d really love to introduce him to his automail. Fist or foot, either way is fine with him. He’s calling him bait and referring to some Metal beast.  
Metal beast?
It all clicks into place in a few seconds then he thinks about the only metal thing he’s ever seen around. The only metal thing that would come for him.  He’s so angry that the slip of a comment on his size goes in one ear and out the other. Gold narrows down to daggers.

After their parents are killed in a plane crash, Ryuuichi and his younger brother Kotarou are taken in by Youko Morinomiya, the stern chairman of an elite academy whose son and daughter-in-law died in the same accident. The Chairman makes it clear that in exchange for being their legal guardians, Ryuuichi must work outside of class hours at the school’s daycare, where Kotarou will stay during the day.
The series tells the story of the daycare children’s antics as well as how the two brothers adapt to their new lives.

4. Fruits basket - comedy romance slice of life
After her mother’s death, Tohru Honda finds herself living with the Sohma family consisting of three cousins: Yuki, the ‘prince charming’ of their high school, Kyo the hot headed, short tempered outcast, and Shigure the mischievous novelist, if not sometimes that of a pervert. 5. Say I love you - pure shoujo
Friends will only let you down—that is the sad truth Mei Tachibana lives with, ever since she was wrongfully blamed for the death of a class pet by her so-called friends in grade school. Since then, she stays away from people in order to avoid ever being hurt again. However, Mei’s life begins to change drastically when a misunderstanding in high school causes her to encounter popular student Yamato Kurosawa.
Yamato finds her intriguing and insists on being her friend, even though Mei wants nothing to do with him. After a disgrace in the Grand Prix Final, Japanese figure skater Katsuki Yuri seeks to retire. Victor Nikiforov, Russian world champion in figure skating is known for his surprises but is feeling stuck when he realises he has no more surprises left. When Yuri dances to Victor’s most famous routine 'Stay Close to Me’ the video is posted online and is seen by Victor. In this moment the Russian world champion decides to move to Japan and become Yuri’s coach. Over the course of various competitions, the two form a powerful bond and see that each other was all they needed to accomplish what both had hoped for.

7.  Kyou kara maou - comedy, fantasy adventure with a hint of gayness
Kyou kara Maou! revolves around Yuri Shibuya, your average Japanese teenager. One day, Yuri sees a classmate being harassed by bullies. Thanks to this intervention, his friend is able to escape, but unfortunately Yuri becomes the new target of the bullies in the process and gets his head shoved into a toilet. But instead of water, the toilet contains a swirling portal that sucks him into another world, largely resembling medieval Europe. There, he is told that he will become the next Demon King due to his black hair and black eyes, traits only possessed by the demon’s royal lineage.Yuri’s arrival is met with some skepticism by some of the demons, who view him as unworthy to be their king. However, after Yuri wins a duel by utilizing his magical powers, the demons slowly begin to acknowledge him as their monarch. Yuri must now learn what it takes be a true Demon King, as he tries to keep the peace between demons and humans in this strange new realm.

The Elric brothers’ mother is dead and their father has long since abandoned them. Deciding to perform a forbidden human transmutation to bring their mother back, they end up losing their bodies. Now Edward must join the military in order to gain certain alchemical privileges, with his one goal being to restore his brother to his original state. But with war on the horizon it’s only a matter of time before they are both forced to question their morals and ultimately decide the value of human life.

10. The world god only knows - comedy romance
Keima Katsuragi prefers immersing himself in the 2D world, chasing digital girlfriends. However, after answering a mysterious email he finds himself bound by a contract helping the demon Elsie capture 'lost souls’ from the underworld. He must now win over these real-life ladies in order to fill the void in their hearts which these souls have entered, releasing the souls and allowing for their capture. Also to further motivate, if he does not perform this 'duty’ a collar around his neck will explode.

Ed / Draco / Ling Headcanons
[these are based in the far future of Preelikeswriting’s epic “Through the Gate” series on AO3 (please read if you haven’t already! you won’t regret it). Ed accidentally ends up in the Harry Potter world and goes through a lot of things, but one of the end results is me shipping him with Draco. and of course i had to make it more complicated and add Ling to the mix. so here we are]

or Ed just straight up takes Draco back to Amestris when he leaves, and they become a power couple there. the public loves them. Mustang hates them. all of Ed's parents gain a new son and Al gains an older brother
Mustang is def included in Ed's parents adopting Draco though. he sees himself in him and it's rough at first, but Riza helps him help Draco
for people who haven’t listened to me ranting about how many people have adopted the Elrics--just. everyone, ok? Mustang, Riza, Olivier, Pinako, Sig, Izumi, Miles, Darius, and Heinkel are the main ones i think of, though. and now getting back on the Ed/Draco/Ling train--
I know Ed grows, but just: tall Draco looming over Mustang for his short husband Ed

and to make it more complicated: Ling and Draco meet and hate each other at first. It's the worst case of "too-similar / jealous of the other's relationship with Ed / thankful for the other protecting Ed when they couldn't be there / I don't know how to handle how handsome and cute you are so get out of my sight" you've ever seen.
Ed finally gets fed up and just... invites them both out to this nice restaurant he made Mustang get them reservations for, because Ling loves food and Draco loves fancy and he loves them
Mustang asks Riza to follow them and make sure they're safe, and she only agrees because it's THEM and there's bound to be trouble. but there isn't and she manages to get the cutest photo of Ling and Draco each kissing one of Ed's blushing cheeks
anyway this is mostly a mess of feels right now, but come help us upgrade from our two-person canoe! there might be a fic or three in the future (who knows. not me)
