#perhaps the pegasus series? loved those books
Note
quil!!!
i heard about your warrior cats adventure !
i think yellowfang was dark gray w/ yellow eyes if i recall correctly...?
also, if you have time/get there, i think youd really like the dawn of the clans series!! (they come after the omen of the stars series publication wise, but all you really need is to have read firestars quest after the first series ends)
Indigo! It feels more like a communal adventure at this point. It's not just me reading warrior cats, it's me reading warrior cats with a dozen eyes over my shoulder watching my every move. But in an endearing silly way.
Also looked it up and you are correct! That explains where the yellow part of her name comes from--I was reasoning it in my head as something to do with infection and diseases, but yellow eyes aligns more with the naming conventions I've seen.
I don't know how quickly I'll work through these books, if I'll really double down and try and make progress or if it'll be a casual thing, but I do currently intend to get that far! Even if Firestar's Quest is enough I will probably go in publication order as that's just how I like to do things, but I am now curious to see what you think I'd like about the series!

least favourite food?
A lot, honestly 😭 I’m a very picky eater and there’s so many things that just make me… gag. I Cannot eat them. An example would be beans! Any kind of bean! I despise them! They are disgusting to me!

“Dusk Court Knife” they really just made that up but okay 😭 Three mountain peaks for the three sisters is also fanon but anyways,
A theory is like to share with you is that shadow singing is not actually a gift of the Starborn bloodline or tied to the Dusk Court, but a gift from the Princes of Hel/the Underworld. That in CC, it was bestowed upon *some* of the Starborn out of Aidas’ love for Theia, and in ACOTAR was similarly gifted to Azriel when he was abused/tortured as a child (by a similar or same God)
The verbiage Cormac uses to describe where he got his ability aligns with similar gifts/blessings from the Lords of Death/the Underworld in the Maasverse (especially TOG). Not only that, but Cormac has never met another person like him (& Rhys tells Feyre Azriel’s abilities are likewise rare/he’s the only one in ACOTAR).
Bryce, with all her exuberant Starborn powers, doesn’t have the ability or anything similar. Her powers—Theia’s powers—align with those of Helion, Lucien and Feyre👀
And then, if we take it further, who shuddered in the presence of the mask? Who hypothesized that their ancestor once wore it? And if their hypotheses are correct, then the Starsword would be affiliated with…The Day Court. The court of the largest Star. Perhaps it is a made weapon, of sorts. And as Truthteller is her pair, perhaps it is likewise made…in opposition to Day, even? A relic of Night? The two courts with High Lords who are practiced in wearing a mask around the other rulers. The ones forging an alliance, and trust, without such masks.
Fanon allows for a lot of ties between Azriel and the Starborn. But canon relates the Starborn to Day.
🧼💖
You're brilliant! And thank you for sharing that all with me because I love how well it comes together. And I do agree, I see the possibility of Az having a connection to the the Princes of Hel as more likely than his being connected to the Starborn Fae. I also never understand when people try to lump Ruhn and Az together. I could be wrong but aren't Ruhn's powers similar to Rhys, not Az? And BOOM! with everything you said about Day Court, Helion, Feyre, Bryce (Lucien). Not to mention why on earth would Helion be in possession of the only remaining Pegasus unless there was something in his history tying he and his people to the lands where the "Dusk" Court would have been had they not been trapped between worlds? I also find it interesting how much SJM has been adding Helion into things. She could have easily kept him in the background until Lucien's story but she brought him in for Nesta's book and made it so that he (and not anyone else) was affected by the Mask. I do think Helion is somehow getting tied into all of this and maybe that's to open up the door for Lucien's future. Because really, you can't have Lucien as the Heir to Day if Helion's filling the spot of High Lord of Day for centuries to come. I mean, maybe SJM will end the series with us acknowledging that Lucien will step into the role way way into the future but I don't know. It feels like there has to be some "finale" to all the build up of Lucien being his Heir and beginning to show the markers of a High Lord.

the fifth summer - in which you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place
Perhaps, challenging Cabin Three to an impromptu capture the flag game had been a bad idea from the start. However, you fully blame their head counselor for egging you on in the first place.
If Jeon Jeongguk would just learn to keep his damn mouth shut, maybe you wouldn’t have felt the need to defend yourself. The only reason you challenged Poseidon’s cabin in the first place was because he called your battle strategy weak. Thinking about it now, you honestly don’t recall how the conversation even got to that subject—after all, you and Jeongguk argued a lot most days—but you knew he was wrong.
How could you—a daughter of Athena—have weak battle strategy? The idea was absolutely absurd. Your mother was the goddess of wisdom and battle strategy; and as a child who literally sprung forth from her brain, you inherited every drop of her skills.
While you admit that the son of Poseidon is probably one of the more capable demigods here—though you’ll never dare say it to his face—he’s also arrogant, and arrogance never wins in a game of pure strategy. Thus, in the five summers you both have attended Camp Half-Blood, you’ve won more capture the flag games than Jeongguk has. Maybe he forgot that little fact.
“Are you sure you want to lose again, Jeon?” you asked him, a smirk stretched across your lips.
“I think you’ll be the one losing today, miss goody-two-shoes.”
Unfortunately, neither of you managed a victory this time because a certain someone from Apollo’s cabin spilled the beans to Chiron. You don’t even know how Jung Hoseok found out about the game, probably from one of those sneaky Hermes kids, but you were going to—
“Y/n, I expected better from you.”
You freeze up at the disappointed look on Chiron’s face. Although your pride is wounded, you know he’s right—you’ve always been a top-notch camper, which is why you’re head counselor of your cabin. However, when Jeongguk gets involved, you just can’t seem to think clearly. Beside you, you hear the devil himself break into laughter. He attempts to hide it as a cough, but Chiron doesn’t buy it and shoots him a glare.
“Don’t think I’m letting you off the hook either, Jeongguk.” The boy sobers up. “You both know better.”
“Sorry, Chiron,” the apology simultaneously slips past both your lips.
The centaur sighs. “It was quite reckless to get both your cabins involved like that. It’s only the first full week of summer, and things are already this bad?”
You know he’s referring to the first time you and Jeongguk butted heads together. It was your second summer, and Jeongguk accidentally shot a canon of water in your face while you were practicing your archery. Your natural reaction was to shoot an arrow back at him. Obviously, you both got a mouthful from Mr. D afterwards.
Since then, as each summer’s gone by, it’s been little things—like tripping each other, spilling food on each other, causing the other to lose at games. This impromptu capture the flag is probably the worst thing you’ve both decided to do.
“I promise it won’t happen again,” you speak up, biting the inside of your cheek.
“Can you?” Chiron lifts a brow.
Suddenly, Jeongguk nods. “Yeah, I sure can. Because it was y/n’s idea in the first place—”
“Only because you made me do it!” you interrupt, facing him now. “It’s always you and your cocky attitude that gets us in trouble.”
“Well, what about your pride, huh? You’re too damn prideful to admit that you. Can. Be. Wrong,” he spats. “Have you thought about that?”
You are riled up; you can feel your body shaking. “I’m never wrong, Jeon Jeongguk.”
“I think that’s enough, you two.”
Taking a step back, you release a deep exhale and turn to face Chiron again. “Sorry…again.”
He just waves your words away and clears his throat. “I will let this incident go”—your ears perk up at that— “only if you two serve a punishment.”
Your stomach drops at his words. In all of your years here, you’ve never done anything bad enough to warrant a punishment. You’ve seen plenty of younger campers receive penalties in the past, but you’re eighteen now and the thought of having to do something embarrassing in front of the entire camp makes you nauseous. No one would let you live that down.
“How about cleaning the Pegasus stalls for a week?”
“A week?” you exasperate. Cleaning stalls was much better than doing something during the campfire, that’s for sure. But still—a week is a long time. You have campers to take care of. “I don’t have a week to spare just to clean—”
“Okay,” Chiron interrupts. “We’ll make it two.”
Jeongguk shoots you a death glare, but you can’t help the next words that tumble past your lips.
“But isn’t Taehyung in charge of the stables?” You refer to the son of Zeus. “Why the—”
“Should I make it a whole month?”
“Two weeks is perfect,” Jeongguk grits through his teeth.
“Okay, I expect you both to be at the stables sharp and early tomorrow morning then,” Chiron smiles. “Just be glad Dionysus isn’t here this week or you both would’ve had worse punishments.”
After he dismisses you both, you begrudgingly follow Jeongguk out of the Big House. By this point, it’s almost dinnertime and you really should make sure everyone in your cabin is already at the dining pavilion. As you’re lost in thought about what to eat for dinner tonight, Jeongguk suddenly turns around and forces you to stop in your tracks.
“Thanks a lot,” he practically spits out venom. “Your big mouth gave us an extra week with the Pegasi.”
“Looks who’s talking,” you frown. “You have the biggest mouth there is.”
“At least I know when to shut up,” he retorts. “Now, we have to clean the stables every damn morning.”
You roll your eyes. “Don’t act like I actually want to spend more time with you than I already do, Jeon.”
Bypassing him, you ignore his grunts of protest and make your way to Cabin Six. Outside of the gray building, you already see some of your half-siblings making their way to dinner. You greet a few of them, but they’re not who you’re looking for. Walking inside the cabin, you search the stacks of the books and finally find who you’re searching for. As if he knows you’re staring at him, he looks in your direction. “Hey.”
“Hey, Namjoon,” you wave at him.
He sets the book he’s holding down and begins walking towards you. “How did the meeting with Chiron go?”
“Oh,” you awkwardly scratch the back of your head. “Jeongguk and I have to clean the Pegasi stables for two weeks.”
Namjoon scrunches his nose at that. “That’s unfortunate.”
“Tell me about,” you sigh, and then look him in the eyes. “Because of that, would you mind helping me with counselor duties these next few weeks?”
“Sure,” he shrugs. “I mean, it can’t be that bad, right?”
You consider Kim Namjoon to be your second-in-command. As a son of Athena, he is equally as brilliant as you—if not more so—and is a natural born leader. And in all honesty, he could’ve been the head of the cabin; except, he didn’t want to. Something about how he’d rather spend his days doing more productive things.
“Yeah,” you nod, “just make sure everyone’s awake in time for breakfast—you know how some of the kids can be without proper nutrition—and morning activities.”
Namjoon seems to ponder this for a moment before agreeing and you both head off to the dining pavilion. You’re thankful that there’s someone like him in your cabin, that you two get to be technical half-siblings. Because it’s going to be a long next two weeks.
That night at dinner, as you’re drinking from the pavilion goblets, you feel a pair of eyes burn the back of your head. You don’t even have to turn around to know it’s from table three. Jeongguk’s predictable like that. And as you throw your food offerings into the fire and prepare for the nightly campfire, you never feel his gaze leave you.
***
A part of you wants to blame the fact that you hate Jeongguk so much on your mother’s rivalry with his dad.
Ever since Athena became the patron saint of Athens, you know she’s had issues with Poseidon. You don’t know why—olives are so much better than a salty water spring anyway. But you do know that it’s possible for a child of wisdom and a child of the sea to be amicable. Maybe even be more than that.
However, at the end of the day, it’s really just because of you and Jeongguk.
Ever since you were thirteen and started your first year at camp, you’ve hated him. What started off as a simple dislike became this thing where you can’t even stand to be in the same room as him. Every half-blood knows that you both are rivals, which is why you’ve never willingly been on the same capture the flag team or on a quest together. Not that you’d want to anyway.
Which is why it makes this punishment so terrible. You have no doubt Chiron knew exactly what he was doing.
Despite your repulsion towards the son of Poseidon, you wake up before the sunrises—which isn’t entirely unusual for you. But what is unusual is that you don’t even have time to pick up a book or look through your laptop. You already have somewhere to be.
After you pull on your orange t-shirt and a pair of denim shorts, you slip your sneakers on and make your way towards the stables. As you walk past the arena and volleyball courts, you’re surprised to see a few campers already walking around. A few of them give you curious glances, probably wondering why the head counselor of Athena’s cabin is outside at this hour; but you ignore their looks and continue marching ahead.
Once you make it to the stables, you already see Kim Taehyung unlocking the gate. He must hear you approaching because he turns around with a boxy smile on his face. “Good morning, y/n.”
You wonder how someone like him could be so cheery this early in the morning; on the surface, Taehyung appears rather nice—approachable, even. However, you know that he often has a storm brewing in his eyes. He isn’t afraid to zap people with lightning.
“Hey…”
“I’m so excited you and Jeongguk get to be here with the Pegasi. When Chiron told me about your p—I mean, when he mentioned that you guys would be helping, I thought it was very nice of him,” Taehyung finally unlocks the gate and beckons you to follow him.
Inside the stables, you notice that quite a few of the Pegasi are already awake and begging for attention. You pet one gently on the head, enjoying the soft hair underneath your fingers. Maybe this punishment wouldn’t be so bad.
“He wants to know if you have any carrots.”
Pulling your hand away, you realized you’re getting ahead of yourself. Looking towards the doorway, Jeongguk stands there with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face. You know he’s referring to the Pegasus, and you forgot that he could communicate with equines.
“Oh good, you’re here Jeongguk,” Taehyung claps a little too enthusiastically. “That way I don’t have to explain everything twice.”
The son of Zeus explains what he does every morning and every evening, and everything seems easy enough. All you and Jeongguk have to do is clean and feed the Pegasi. Taehyung mentions that he’ll swing by during the week if you two need help, but you let him know that he doesn’t have to do that—everything’s pretty self-explanatory.
“Also, you don’t have to worry about letting them out,” Taehyung continues. “Campers come to ride them during the day, so they should be fine when it’s nighttime.”
After he shows you two where everything is, Taehyung leaves you with the key and two to get to work. By the time you and Jeongguk are done with everything, it feels like hours have surely gone by. Although the work itself is easy enough, there are more Pegasi than you realized.
“How the hell does Taehyung do all of this by himself?” you ask once you put your broom away. You don’t expect an answer, but Jeongguk gives you one anyway.
“He’s been doing this since he got here. I guess he really likes Pegasi.”
Turning to face Jeongguk, you don’t miss the way sweat beads along his forehead and how he uses the bottom of his orange shirt to wipe it away. Your eyes travel down to the exposed skin of his abdomen, drinking in the sight of his tan and toned body. Before he can realize you’ve been staring for a second too long, you’re already halfway out of the stable.
Did I just check out Jeongguk? No, you shake your head; you were just looking at what was in front of you. Besides, he was talking to you anyway. You were not admiring him at all.
“What time are we supposed to meet back here?” his voice catches you before you can get too far.
You stop and turn back around. “I guess before the campfire?”
Jeongguk nods at that, and you proceed to ignore him for the rest of the day. At least, until you both have to be at the stables again later.

I had to edit this drawing today, because I needed to put my tumblr name on it, as well as edit out Sunset's third arm that wasn't being held by Scourge.
I mean it is possible for some humans to be born with more than two arms, or only being born with one.
and besides that one error I made on this drawing, I also had to edit the ends of Sunset's hair to have some yellow.
I believe that if I remember right,
this was inspired by Shadow Meets Equestria Girls,
it's a crossover and it's on Cryil Smith VA's Youtube Channel,
their channel and works is one of many Youtubers,
I want to be protected from the video/episode stealing shisno.
I really REALLY can not stand those toxic-youtubers,
you do NOT re-upload a episode of Helluva Boss on your channel,
to share it, if your gonna share it, put it in a link to someone.
I’m still not okay with finding out what that youtuber today.
and there is a reason why I put Redacted instead of their real youtube name.
when I was first looking up Helluva Boss, it was to see if episode 6 was out yet, but then I found that there was another episode stealing jerk.
if a youtuber is gonna re-upload a video from another youtuber,
it should only be if the original is off of youtube.
it’s because of most toxic-youtubers, that half of other youtubers
who don’t know where the original videos come from
and don’t bother checking the description below more carefully,
that the original ones end up getting false reported,
and if I had to guess, if you don’t inform that you have a youtube amv you made and uploaded on both youtube and at another video sharing site, and a person sees it over at the other place first
and then see it on youtube, it is possible they will not think they are the same person and will falsely report the video.
that might of been the reason for what happen to one of
the Undertale Amvs. either the person who false reported saw the sub version of it by a person who got permission, or they saw it on another video sharing site and then didn’t bother to ask before jumping the gun.
later I am gonna write about how the Toxic-Youtubers
need to be stop, because of their taking episodes or amv and gmvs
without permission of the other youtubers that end up the victims.
right now I’m just going to post some drawings up on here.
I don’t think Sunset will end up in Shadow Meets Equestria Girls,
at least not to my knowledge.
too bad she couldn’t stop Discord, Celestia and Luna
from turning Cozy Glow, Tirek and Chrysalis to a stone statue.
could of used the Element of Empathy during that battle.
I still love the last episodes and all the other episodes of MLPFIM.
but if characters like Discord, Celestia, Luna, Star Butterfly, Scrooge McDuck (from the ducktales reboot) , Pink “Rose” Diamond,
and Mr Death’s girlfriend Miss Life from Adventure Time series
(worst Mom Ever of all time.)
do a Anti-Hero move, and end up hurting others who for what they believe is the fully the right thing to do.
no matter if Discord had turned Cozy bad or not,
it is possible that the reason why she was trying to get rid of the magic,
was because of how Unicorns (even if it’s not all Unicorns)
treat Earth-Ponies and Pegasus as second class citizens.
the only ponies that seem to higher in rank than Unicorns,
would be Alicorns.
in theory, the Bat-Ponies might be treated third class citizens,
seeing as no filly or colt or equine of the bat-ponies
have ever made much appearances or went to Twilight’s school of friendship.
let’s turn to the Buffalo in MLPFIM,
we know that the earth-ponies took over their lands and planted apple trees.
but it is possible that the Buffalo weren’t the only ones who lived in the land that would then become Equestria II.
before they were driven out, Tirek’s family ruled the land that would then become the new equestria.
and the three wendigos are possibly from the Equestria I,
before Equestria II was founded.
I believe that the wendigos are the spirits of the original sirens
that Stygian met and when he went to get help,
the three original sirens end up tricking three little filly sisters
those being Adagio Dazzle (the eldest sister)  Aria Blaze (the middle sister), Sonata Dusk (the youngest sister)
the siren gems end up bonding to the three young fillies,
and transforming them to sirens, while the originals
become the wendigos.
wendigos go after ponies with negative energy/magic,
the dazzling’s use to do the same until their power was taken away,
but it returned to them when they re-learned how to sing,
and it appears their powers might of changed a bit.
find the magic is one of my favorite songs that is sung by the dazzlings.
when the three of those sisters
(and yes they are really sisters in canon)
were tricked by the original sirens who then became wendigos,
Stygian did not see this and because of him and Starswirl and the others, innocent fillies that were overcome by the power that was given to them by the wendigos, were banished from equestria I.
over time the Wendigos frozen the land beyond healing,
and all ponies moved to another land, taking it over,
and driving it’s original ruling family and half of their people
to a new place, possibly underground.
the only ones that were left, was the native animals
such as the bugbear, chimera, cockatrice and other monster type animals.
the animals that weren’t originally from the land that would become Equestria II, were brought from Equestria I by the ponies.
the other natives of Equestria II besides Tirek and maybe even the changelings,
would be the Buffalo.
before earth-ponies became crystal ponies,
they took the original Queen Changelings Crystal Empire,
this was long before they become what they look like when we are first introduce them, in theory, I think they look like their reform selves
but possibly in Crystal form.
I wont force other fans to believe that theory,
but I see it as headcanon.
the earth-ponies that would become crystal ponies,
were welcome into the crystal changelings home,
but then were exiled by them and without the crystal heart,
they slowly became corrupt and starve.
over time the earth-ponies that took over their rightful home
became the Crystal Ponies, maybe by Princess Amore’s Grandmother.
I guess it could be possible that Amore didn’t know how the Crystal Ponies and her grandmother had founded the Crystal Empire,
not knowing it was the original home of the changelings,
and without the power of the crystal heart to share their love that would then in return feed them, they would slowly become the changelings that we end up introduce to.
I also have a theory that Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie
and Rainbow Dash from the human world, might really be the original ponies from Equestria, from the first season of when Nightmare Moon returns.
like what if when any pony finds out the truth about the history of Equestria, they were taken to that magic pool, cloned
and then banished to another portal to the human world
or the mirror to the human world was open by Alicorn Magic.
the only one who possibly didn’t have a human counterpart,
was Sunset Shimmer and Starlight Glimmer, well they might have in the fanon.
but we know that most of the humans we see in the human counterpart world, aren’t seen in Equestria.
what if Trixie from the human world, was really the original Trixie
who had used the Alicorn Amulet and after everything seem to work out in the end, Trixie was taken by Celestia to the magic pool,
cloned and then the real Trixie was banished to the human world.
even if most of the humans from the human world,
would be originally born humans, most of the humans could turn out to be ponies who were banished by at first Starswirl and then later Celestia.
at some point Celestia stop that kind of banishment,
and started to turn ponies into stone instead.
I think that half of the pony statues we see along with Discord,
were real ponies once, who perhaps were the original elements of harmony along with Celestia and Luna.
but they were betrayed by Celestia,
and when Luna found out the truth of what happen to their friends,
it gave her the final push (besides the other being jealous that their subjects seem to love Celestia more than her.)
to give in to the negative side of Alicorn Magic,
and transform into her dark half.....which is Nightmare Moon.
the Statue Pony that looks like they are holding a stroll,
might be the element of inspiration.
the book of the elements of harmony, was perhaps rewritten,
to hide the fact there was more than just six elements.
to hide this truth, Celestia took the elements that she and her sister could not use, and destroyed them and threw their shards into the human world, where they would end up in a cave
and then grow into a new tree of harmony for the human world,
and later their power will be given to Sunset and her friends.
Rarity was original suppose to be the element of inspiration,
but because of the word might not be understood,
it was changed to generosity.
it is easy to explain the element of inspiration,
it’s like you get a idea that inspires you, like drawing a fan art
or writing a fan fic or writing a story or drawing that doesn’t have to do with fan art or fan fic and or if you write a song or poem.
that is what is the true element of inspiration is like.
Trixie being the element of forgiveness in Princess Trixie Sparkle,
is awesome.
in theory if she ends up meeting Starlight in that fan series,
I think they would still end up becoming friends because of the bond they shared in the canon.
if my theory ended up being true, and not just a fan theory.
if the shards of the lost elements of harmony were destroyed by Celestia, then thrown into the human world and ended up in a cave,
and then grew into a new element of harmony tree, or what appears like a broken tree crystal rock thing.
then those broken shards would have some of the original powers of the elements that are still in equestria, in them which would grow each of all the elements, first the ones that are needed by Sunset and her friends, then when the time comes the lost elements would grow from that crystal rock tree stump.
one of those who might be the ones who represent the lost elements of harmony.
might be Trixie, Moondancer, Starlight Glimmer, Wallflower Blush,
Juniper Montage, Maud Pie, Vinyl Scratch possibly.
those who are the Neo-Elements of Harmony,
would have to be Smolder, Yona, Gallus, Sandbar, Ocellus
and Silverstream.
and if Cozy ended up forming a friendship and deep bond with those six.....she might of became someone who represented the element of empathy.
and those who represent the lost elements of harmony
might be Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, Diamond Tiara,
Silver Spoon and Silverstream’s brother.
there is always the comic series of MLPFIM,
and maybe Cozy, Tirek and Chrysalis
will be given freedom in the comic series...maybe, I don’t know.
anyway I hope some of you like this drawing that has a ship
of Nicolette x Fiona and Scourge x Sunset.
even if this was partly inspired by Shadow Meets Equestria Girls,
it is still possible that Sunset might not end up in that fan series.
but it be nice if she was, and Scourge fell in love with her.
if anyone can reform Scourge and understand why he became the way he did, it would be Sunset Shimmer.
in this drawing Scourge captures Sunset, that is why he is the only one smiling and she is not too happy,
but it also hints that they will fall in love.
and it is Scourge and Sunset’s love and bonding with each other,
will help Scourge reform, he will still be himself,
but be a bit different too.
well that is how I view it anyway.

masterlist
It was not difficult to spot Rose Harrington in a crowd of people. Her luminous smile was easy to find in room of others, her smile lit up the entire room – it was near impossible for her expression of happiness to catch onto your own. Though it seemed more challenging to find her than it originally seemed in the eyes of the Nazis situated in Dunkirk.
Rose Harrington was an exceptional young lady. Fluent in four different languages; Italian, French, German and English, the top of her school in academics, nurse and a British spy under the orders of the S.O.E to pose as a German Nazi nurse on the wretched battlefield in Dunkirk.
Though here she sat, on a dreary June day, listening cautiously to the radio cracking out words to keep the Nation up to date on the war situation. She watched as they steady rain tapped against the windowpane, the droplets racing each other to the bottom of the window. It had been a month since she returned from her deathly mission in Dunkirk, scenes which she had seen, endured, flashing through her mind every now and again causing her to inhale sharply or pinch her arm. She had seen death beyond belief, she had escaped death too many times to count on her polished fingers, but she would do it all again to know that she had helped a multitude of people by her actions.
A sudden noise awoke her from her unconscious daydreaming, the entrance door opening, causing her to jolt in her spot on the armchair. Rose gently rose to her feet, chasing the sound of the door and rattling. Her father’s figure came into view, making Rose ease her mind. She furrowed her brows as she noticed him search through doors of the cabinet, throwing keys onto the dark wooden surface on top.
“What’s happening?” Rose questioned, walking closer towards her father, who looked up at her in light shock, “They’ve called for little boats to rescue the men at Dunkirk, I’m going” He muttered, inspecting a key before placing it in his pocket and turning around in a hurry to the cupboard on the other side of the entrance. Rose studied him, determination beginning to course through her veins, “Ok, I am coming too” she pronounced softly, slipping on her black oxfords, “No. No you are not. You have done more than enough with this war. Plenty” He ordered, pointing his finger towards Rose sternly to which she returned with a shake of her head, “No. I want to do more. I can do more. It is for my country. You need help anyhow.” She insisted, clearly not straying from her decision by shrugging on her coat.
Joseph Harrington was a Captain in World War I. He suffered, he had to make several hard decisions which would haunt him in his later years. He loved his family dearly, but the weight of war on his shoulders sometimes became too heavy for him. On some occasions, when fireworks would boom through the neighbourhood on New Year’s Eve or he would read a newspaper recalling the events in the war, he would burst into fits of rage. Chairs, glassware and the delicate skin of the ones he loved would break when he came into these fits, leaving tears stained on everyone’s cheeks as they began to clean the mess made, Joseph sitting in his arm chair; a glass of bourbon resting in his trembling hands. The Harringtons knew that it was just shell shock, that he did not mean to do such things and they still loved him, but that did not stop them from pits of fear overwhelming their stomachs. Joseph was positive that letting Rose come with him was one of those decisions which would leave him overcome with distraught in the future, but he also knew his daughter. She was determined, she never gave up.
“You’re just like your Mother” he sighed, grabbing a bundle of ropes out of the cupboard and opening the front door, Rose smiled graciously before walking swiftly out the door.
“Diese britischen Bastarde werden keine Woche länger durchhalten (These British bastards won’t last a week)” a man spat, blood pouring out of his arm, a sizable gun shot wound evident in his bicep, “Wir töten sie wie nichts (We’re killing them like its nothing)” he continued. Rose sat him down on a stretcher, tying a bandage around the wound tightly whilst trying to not listen to the Nazi’s gross bragging. “Was passiert da draußen? (What’s happening out there?)” Rose asked innocently, looking up at the man’s wicked blue eyes curiously.
“Sie schicken sie nur unvorbereitet ab (They’re just sending them off unprepared)” he replied glancing at the other men in the open area, “Wir greifen sie heute Abend an, ein offenes Gebiet entlang der Küste des Strandes, wo sie sitzen (We're attacking them tonight, an open area along the coast of the beach where they're sitting)” he smirked proudly as Rose returned it with one of her own (of course it was fake, unbeknownst to him). “Ich weiß, dass du einen guten Job machst, das machst du immer, was mir den Job als Krankenschwester erleichtert (I know that you do a good job, you always do that, which makes my job as a nurse easier)” She smiled, beginning to clear the blood made by the man, who chuckled lightly at her joke.
“Heil Hitler (Hail Hitler)” he proclaimed, to which Rose strained a smile of pride. The man rushed away, laughing along with a bunch of men in their Nazi uniforms a few metres away from her. She made a mental note to ensure she did not leave any details out in her telegraph back home, these details meaning life or death for many men.
Rose could not see home. Nor could she see the blood-stained beaches of Dunkirk. She could only see the unforgiving deep blue waters of the ocean which stretched for kilometres, and boats. There were boats of all different sizes and colours littered along the water, all come together to save their men. She inhaled deeply, smelling the saltiness on the sea breeze and the petrol fumes expelling from her boat’s engine.
“It’s quite amazing, isn’t it?” Rose spoke out against the apprehensive silence which clouded the boat, “What is” her father muttered, eyes on the water in front of him as he steered the boat, “The number of people, number of boats” she replied looking around them at them all, a sense of patriotism filling her insides. The flag of the union jack whipped around behind them, cracking with the pride of the British.
The boat was a moderate size, with a timber finish and a deck below. It had become slightly rusty from the lack of use, blue paint beginning to crack and chip off on the sides. Nevertheless, she was still the Harrington’s beauty, Pegasus was her name. Before the war, before Rose had grown up, it was a family boat. On warm summer Saturdays, the Harringtons would take Pegasus for a dip into the Iris Canal, with packed ham sandwiches and a treat of a biscuit, courtesy of Doreen Harrington. Doreen and Joseph would sit back in the boat, Doreen perhaps reading a book whilst Joseph nostalgically smoked cigarettes. They seemed so calm in comparison to Charles and Rose, who were playfully splashing the cool water of the river at each other, laughter floating down the canal.
If you had met Charles and Rose, you would be surprised to hear that they were not Siamese twins separated. They were each other’s best friend, they never fought, they simply enjoyed one another’s company. Charles was a year older than his sister, a shy young man with outstanding engineering talents. As the war began to unfold, the unspeakable idea arose in the Harrington household brought up by Charles. “I must go, it would be cowardly if I didn’t” he spoke calmly to Rose who stared down into her lap, tears rolling unconsciously down her rosy cheeks.
“Its not cowardly at all Charles. It is ok to not go, to say no to being killed.” She choked out, looking up at Charles who was standing in the doorway of her bedroom. “I’m not going to be killed, Rose. I will survive.” He breathed, walking towards Rose and kneeling in front of where she sat on her bed. Rose looked back down into her lap, fiddling with her perfectly polished hands. “Rose” he whispered, wrapping his hands around Rose’s little ones to stop her anxious fiddling. Rose stared deeply into her brother’s, the calming blue matching her own. “I promise, I will survive” he continued, a small sympathetic smile growing on his face. Rose breathed deeply, the thought of losing her brother becoming a little less overwhelming at his promise. “Even if you do survive, you’ll turn out like Dad” she muttered, a single tear falling. Charles sighed shakily, wiping the tear away with the back of his hand. “Not if I can help it” he smiled sympathetically, “I don’t think I’ll ever be as bald as him” he joked, grinning largely. Rose chuckled, sniffling up her last bits of sadness and pulling her broken parts back together.
The faint outline of the grey shores of Dunkirk beach began to appear as Rose and her father drew closer to the men. Rose inhaled, looking out towards the shore. She began to feel a slight pull at her stomach, and she hated herself for it. These men had been sitting ducks for months, a multitude dying in the meantime, she had merely spent a month in Dunkirk. Now was not the time to be fussed about her own apprehension, but rather saving heartbreak from families.
The dreadful smell of smoke and burning oil filled her nostrils, making her become suddenly alert. She studied along the surface of water, noticing a large ship beginning to capsize – smoke puffing from the wreck. “Dad” she walked over to the port side of Pegasus, trying to catch a closer glance. Joseph looked over to his daughter, staring past her shoulder at the mess of ships and smoke on the water. He remained focused on the sight, turning the boat around and accelerating her to the fastest she could go with a great roar from the engine.

GARVEZ STORIES
And if... my life occasionally wiped out... the uselessness of these insecurities... I wouldn't tell you...
*checkmate
She is not openly crying, but she is so close. -It cannot be true. I can’t believe. I don’t want to believe it.- she shakes her head, while her friend increases the grip on her hand, even though he is no less upset. -Why shouldn't she have told us?- Morgan would like to console her, but he can't. He's too busy cursing himself for not seeing the signs first.
-That's exactly the point, Penelope.- the older man explains to calm down her. -We are her family. And remember what Doyle's goals is?- awareness makes its way into her chest as she nods.
-We have to find her.- she looks above all at Hotch, who seems strange, different. But it will all be in her head, she sees things that are not there, perhaps she dreams of them as well. And it would also be easy to believe it, if she didn’t have certain marks, signs on her body, which persist in not wanting to go away. But this story is not in the least important now that they have lost Emily.
The last piece of the puzzle, the discovery of Lauren Reynolds' identity, also reaches the other teams, which for the occasion gathered in their initial formations. In the IRT, Clara is definitely the most upset. They worked together for years, she considers her as one of her best friends and she cannot understand how she could have been so blind, and above all why she didn't trust her. Once, perhaps for too many glasses of wine, she had told her they were like sisters. Jack tries to convince her that it wasn't her fault, almost unnecessarily.
Mick, who has notoriously always had a soft crush on Prentiss, lets out his anger by punching things. Gina tries to calm him down and finds no other way than to hug him. It is the first time it has happened in years and years of working together. Both remain puzzled by the sensations they feel, but don’t have time to deepen them.
In the remaining teams, it is those who have collaborated with her for a few days, since they are part of the same group, to be confused and most affected by the story. Someone even makes a joke, citing the film with Juila Roberts, but is soon sedated.
Four days have passed since that night and Luke was no longer able to even approach her. He saw her in passing, during some general meeting, but she avoided his gaze and vanished instantly. Phil snatched the truth from him, almost choking on his beer, but not the details. He gave him a pat so hard that he almost broke a bone. But he couldn't help it. This coldness on his part mortally wounds him, but he expected it. But when Vladimir tells them the latest discovery, Luke instantly senses the effect this thing will have on her and abandons the discussion before it's over. Dalia stares at Phil, convinced (rightly) that he knows what's wrong with Luke. Claudia manages to calm her down; she is the only one with this magical power.
Luke practically runs to her office, but freezes, recognizing the male tone and the nuances of anger in his voice. -But I know why you're doing it.- an evil, really bad laugh, thanks to which he would have already gained a punch, if only he had this guy in front of him. -You fucked with that man of the fugitive team, that seems to have come out of a Mexican comic book.- he doesn’t even feel particularly offended to be defined through a stereotype, indeed, he is almost happy, because he captures the only positive side of the thing: what there is among them it is so evident that even this jerk has got there. -What is his last name? Alvarez?- a crooked grimace paints the lips of the Latin hearing his surname wrong. He looks around, but no one is coming, so he keeps eavesdropping.
-It's Alvez, and whit whom I fucked or not, is no longer your business!- a noise, like something being pushed. He hopes that it was she who did it and not the other, because if he only dares to touch her hair... -We are not together or am I wrong?- his heart jumps for joy, considering that in a bizarre way she is defending him, and also... Them.
A snap, compatible with a slap. It takes him a while to understand that probably he has beat one hand against the other. -No, you're right.- another laugh that is half a sob. -Luckily I didn’t buy that ring.- Luke's eyes widen dramatically.
-What?- Penelope's upset cry is reflected in his stomach.
A series of sighs. An exasperating pause, before Kevin continues. -I wanted to make peace with you, take you out to dinner and ask you to marry me.- was he really ready to take that step? Was he really that close to losing everything? But inside he feels that she wouldn't have said yes anyway. -So, there would be no more breaks. It was fun, when we were younger…- he continues to explain, then he laughs again. -What a jerk I was.- at least he was able to say one right thing.
-Maybe it was fun for you, but certainly not for me!- he instantly recognizes the shades of pain in her voice. Somehow, for some strange, arcane reason, she really loves him. Not enough, or she wouldn't have ended up in his bed. And this is not a male chauvinist thought but a simple observation.
-Tell me, plum sauce, have you ever loved me?- he imagines them. He sees Kevin trying to take her hand, one last desperate attempt. But he also sees her reject him, free herself. -Because I find it hard to believe, given the speed with which you threw yourself into another's arms...- in fact melancholy quickly turns into sadness.
-I didn't throw myself in anyone's arms!- she protests and Lynch can't know she's telling the truth. It was he who captured her, and it was a hard fight to win.
An ironic laugh. Luke clenches his fists, looking around again. -Want to deny? Come on, Penelope, I saw the way you look at him and how he looks at you.- his heart begins to beat wildly. -You two had sex with your eyes during the meetings, but from the way you treated him today... in my opinion he also hit the target. - how the hell did he notice? Is it so obvious? Will his friends, his team, Dalia, have noticed it too? What about her team? Morgan? All the rest of the world, including Flicker? He believed he had been clever and discreet. Before he hit the target, as Lynch called it, they had exchanged short, stealthy looks at strategic moments. But he's right, that was a kind of foreplay.
A loud noise, of something or someone who is pushed and ends up against some wall, pulling down what is hanging on it. -Stop it, Kevin, I can't stand your tone anymore!- pain and anger continually exchange roles, in her voice. -That's why I don't want to go back with you.- Luke closes his eyes, savoring the moment. -Alvez has nothing to do with it. You men must always find a lover, a scapegoat to feel you have a clear conscience, don't you?- he imagines the grimace on her mouth and feels the urge to kiss her. -I'm sorry, it won't be like that. And yes, you were right not to buy the ring, because I would never have said yes!- as he had imagined. -Now, go out, please. I want to be alone.- it spends a few frightening moments of absolute silence, before he can hear the steps of the man coming towards him. He barely hides himself just in time. He has an absolute need to see her, but he respects her will. Loving often sucks.

Captain Marvel Easter Eggs And References
My goal for Easter egg lists is always to get them up within a week of a movie’s opening, or the same night that a television episode airs, but I’ve had an injured wrist/thumb that has made writing difficult. So, Captain Marvel hasn’t been delayed because of a busy life, but because I’ve been trying to rest my hand. I’ve been wearing a brace and thumb stabilizer for most of my day for the last few weeks, so I should be getting back to normal soon.
As usual with my Easter egg lists, this list assumes you’ve seen the movie, and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe  for that matter. There will be spoilers. You have been warned. I’m sticking mainly with comic and MCU references, so you won’t find a lot of pop culture ones here. If you want someone to give you the 90s rundown, I’m sure you can find it online.
The Stan Lee Tribute
Every MCU movie opens with the same sequence, highlighting the heroes that are part of the universe. This is the first Marvel movie to hit theaters since Stan Lee’s death, so they did something a little different. That sequence instead highlights him. The color scheme and the background text remains the same, but none of the actors are there, just shots of Stan Lee from different movies and red carpet events. I won’t lie. I’ve teared up a little every time I’ve seen it.
Hala
Both the name of the main planet and the capital city in the Kree Empire. MCU fans saw it before in Guardians of the Galaxy, though it was a bit darker and didn’t seem as tech-friendly. It makes me wonder just what happened in the years in between.
“There are tabs for that.”
Not an Easter egg, but a tiny bit of world building. Going into this movie, I think most people knew that Carol Danvers AKA Vers was really from Earth. But, I find it interesting that Yon-Rogg is so quick to offer Carol a Kree sleeping aid. It reinforces the idea we’ve seen on Agents of SHIELD that human and Kree physiology are relatively compatible.
Supreme Intelligence
Less of an Easter egg and more of a direct comic book adaptation, the Supreme Intelligence is also an A.I. in the comics. There, it’s made up of all of the minds of the smartest and most distinguished Kree after they day. That’s presumably what Yon-Rogg’s “join the collective” comment meant in the movie as well. The idea of it becoming the person you most admire is created for the movie.
Carol’s Inhibitor
The comics have tried many different inhibitors on characters with super powers over the years. The X-Men usually have collars. Alien species like their neural inhibitors though, which is what Carol appears to have when she trains with Yon-Rogg. Kudos to the MCU for keeping their tech consistent across movies and TV since it appears to be the same type as what Quake ends up with in the future on Agents of SHIELD. Interesting that Daisy’s is embedded in her brain tissue while Carol’s is on the surface of her skin. Something changed in the decades in between - probably the fact that Carol was able to disable hers. Then again, so was Daisy.
Starforce
This is considered a group of supervillains in the comics, so perhaps movie fans might have expected their turn if they knew that. A few of the members are different in the comics. For example, Yon-Rogg isn’t a member, but Ronan the Accuser is. ScreenRant did a good job at running down who’s who in the movie version since they’re all comic book characters. You can see that here.
Torfa
Torfa is a relatively new creation in the planets. It first popped up in 2014, which tells you the movie pulls from a lot of the new comic book continuity. Like the movie, Torfa was a planet where refugees lived. Also like the movie, not all of them survived the hostile atmosphere, though in the comics, it was chemicals, not Kree that were hostile. Carol also had it out with Starlord’s comic book dad there.
Talos
Talos is in the comics, but apparently he’s also a Star Trek reference. Not a Trekkie, though I do find the franchise interesting, so I’ll direct you to this article for a full explanation.
Carol’s Look
One of Carol’s most iconic looks in the comics is her mohawk. She gets it for the movie in the form of her helmet keeping her hair in place. Her uniform, with the green color scheme, is one all of Starforce uses, but it’s also a nod to the original Captain Marvel’s uniform in the comics. In fact, the color changing of her suit appears to be a nod to a few other costumes she had in the comics too. The red, yellow, and blue came later. I’m just glad we didn’t have her bathing-suit like uniform of her Ms. Marvel days.
Maria “Photon” Rambeau
Maria is created for the movie (her daughter is from the comics), and though we learn more about her much later, we see her callsign on her jet during Carol’s early flashbacks. Photon is actually one of the many superhero names Monica Rambeau uses in the comics. Nice touch.
Carol’s Family
Carol’s family flashbacks only ever show us her brother and her father. We don’t get much of an idea about her homelife other than her relatives not wanting her to be as rough as the boys. That’s very much a part of her comic book background. Her father favors her brother so much that, even though Carol has the better grades growing up, he only pays for her brother to get a university education. Carol joins the Air Force for the free tuition and to prove she’s as good as the boys to her father. (It’s also interesting that we never see her mother since a recent retcon in the comics has her mother as a Kree refuge and Carol’s birth name as Car-El as she’s half Kree.) It’s also interesting to note that a lot of Carol’s major stories in her classic comics involve her losing her memories and having to figure out who she is all over again.
Lieutenant Trouble
It’s a cute nickname for Monica with Carol’s military background. It’s also a nod to another little girl Carol new in the comics with the same nickname and Monica being a police officer in the comics when she’s introduced as an adult. She’s also from Louisiana, just like the Rambeaus are in the movie.
Dr. Lawson
We’ve got some genderbending going on for the new generation. In the comics, the original Captain Marvel is Mar-Vell, a Kree soldier sent to Earth to monitor the planet as it gets destroyed by Galactus. Mar-Vell comes to sympathize with humanity and turns on the Kree to help the humans. He also takes the guise of a scientist with NASA named Dr. Lawson while he’s undercover. Sounds familiar, except her Lawson and Mar-Vell are a woman and the race she sympathizes with are the Skrulls. The original story also had Mar-Vell and Carol ending up in an accident with a piece of Kree technology that left Carol with his powers. I love the twist on this origin story. There’s plenty of nods to the source material without Carol’s jealousy of Mar-Vell from the comics, and without her playing second fiddle to a heroic dude for a long time.
Project PEGASUS
In the comics, Project PEGASUS is a unit researching alternative energy sources. It also acts as a prison for those with superpowers. We’ve actually seen mention of it in the MCU before. For the MCU, it was created in the 1940s when Howard Stark found the Tesseract in the ocean while looking for Captain America. It was a joint venture between the Airforce, NASA, and what would become SHIELD to study it. It gets a mention in a few of the tie-in comics for the MCU movies, but specifically, Tony Stark mentions he wants files on it to JARVIS when he’s going through his dad’s stuff in Iron Man 2. A sign for it also appears on the wall in a SHIELD facility in Agents of SHIELD.
Blockbuster And Radio Shack
A+ choices for the businesses for Carol to run into. Two companies that are essentially extinct 20 years later, but were cutting edge at the time. (From what I understand the Blockbuster scenes were actually filmed at the last Blockbuster left in the US. It’s in Arizona. Go figure.)
True Lies
True Lies gets noticed in the video store because Carol shoots the standee, but the spy movie is known for a fighter jet sequence, and it was the first true “blockbuster” movie because it cost over $100 million to make - unheard of in 1994. The fighter jet prop used in it was also repurposed and used in The Avengers, so it’s like Easter egg inception here.
Universal Translator
So much is made about alien races speaking English in the MCU. In the comics, pretty much anyone traveling through space has a universal translator built into their ship or their helmets. This one off mention from Carol reminds us of that, though she’s likely speaking English anyway.
Coulson the Skrull
Phil Coulson appears as a rookie agent in the 90s. I’d wager this is one of his first big jobs since he’s still on evidence collection. You know him from the Iron Man and Avengers movies as well as, you know, Agents of SHIELD. I like that he’s the one a Skrull simulates instead of Fury because there were so many theories about who could be a Skrull when they were announced for this movie. It’s also a nice misdirect from Marvel that there’s concept art out there of Fury’s transformation from a Skrull, but not Coulson’s.
And, I mean, Nick Fury’s not an Easter egg, so I don’t need to remind you he basically started the MCU with Hulk and Iron Man, right? Though this movie does make me worry about his driving record in the MCU. He seems to end up in a lot of accidents.
Stan Lee And Mallrats
Stan Lee’s cameo is extra special because it’s also a nod to a real life cameo of his. How very meta. The script he’s holding on the train is for Kevin Smith’s Mallrats, where he really did say the line, “trust me, True Believers,” something he also said a lot in his editorials in the comics.
Kelly Sue Deconnick
When Carol gets off the train, she passes a woman with red hair and glasses in her walk. That’s Deconnick. She wrote the Captain Marvel comic book series a few years ago that this movie pulls a lot of its nods (and aesthetic) from. We can likely credit her with the surge in popularity Carol’s seen the last few years, and the reason she had a movie in development at all.
1989
In case there’s anything noteworthy for you in the year Carol ended up in Hala: Ron Perelman bought Marvel Entertainment Group, the massive X-Men Inferno story arc played out, the new Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD comic launched, and Jubilee made her comic book debut.
1995
Likewise, for Carol’s return to Earth: the Age of Apocalypse comics launched, Thor made his 400th comic book appearance, comic books like The Fantastic Four and The Amazing Spider-Man had landmark issues as well, and a bunch of Punisher comics were cancelled, only for Marvel to turn around and launch a new Punisher comic later in the year. The Skrull Kill Crew mini series also launched.
SHIELD Logo
Thanks, Carol for calling out the fact that a covert group shouldn’t put their logo on everything. Fans have been saying that for years. Also, nice touch that it’s not the sleek and modern logo we see in Agents of SHIELD, but the older one seen on the Wall of Valor in the MCU before.
“Smile for me.”
I know that Brie Larson was asked about this moment in an interview and said it wasn’t an Easter egg. But the fact that she was criticized so much by male fans for not smiling in promotional materials made me add this to the list.
SHIELD Medical Examiner
Nelson Franklin played him. He also appeared in an episode of Agents of SHIELD. Maybe they’re just relatives.
A “Full Bird Colonel”
Carol calls Fury this during their chat at Pancho’s. His military history before joining SHIELD is right in line with the comics. Of course, he was from New York, not Alabama there. He also says he likes the B’s and spent time in Budapest. Not the same mission as Hawkeye and Black Widow though, right?
“Just Fury”
Nick Fury also points out that he only goes by Fury. Not Nicholas. Not Nick. Just Fury. I intend on going back and finding when in the MCU someone calls him Nick to his face. Maybe it’s like a distress signal for him.
“You look like someone’s disaffected niece.”
Fury says this to Carol when he points out her clothes not fitting in on a secret base. But it reminded me of the comments about her looking like Emily VanCamp, who plays Peggy Carter’s niece Sharon.
The Welcome Wagon
Carol’s not familiar with the term, though Fury is. Probably because that’s what they call the intake program for new “assets” with SHIELD. That’s what Coulson eventually wants Skye to do when he adds her to his team in Agents of SHIELD.
Ronan The Accuser
You probably recognize Lee Pace’s character from Guardians of the Galaxy. In that movie, he was after a little purple gem that turned out to be the Power Stone. He’s a Kree purist, out to conquer neighboring lands and make sure the Kree stay in power. He’s not all that different here. His mention of coming back for the weapon and the woman at the end is likely a nod to him pursuing other Infinity Stones, even if it’s not clear that he knows what they are here. By the time of Guardians, he’s got whole rituals he’s participating in, which includes painting his face in Blue Kree blood. It doesn’t look like he’s quite that fanatical here. He does, however, inspire loyalty in Korath, who eventually works for him directly, which does make me wonder what happened to Yon-Rog after this and how much Korath told Ronan about their encounter with Carol on Earth as well.
“That’s a flerken.”
Goose likely gets his name from Top Gun, but he gets his alien identity from the comics. In the comics from a few years ago, Carol has a companion on her spaceship - a cat named Chewie. As Rocket Raccoon points out to her, “that’s no cat. That’s a flerken.” Like Talos, Rocket was right. Chewie ends up having a whole litter of flerkens. Goose just eats things and people at convenient times.
Women Flying Combat
Maria notes that women weren’t allowed to fly combat in 1989. That’s true. They weren’t allowed to fly combat until 1993, a few years before the movie is set. The first woman to get to after the ban lifted? That would be Jeannie M. Leavitt. Now Brigadier General Leavitt, she actually trained Brie Larson for her role in the film and appears in the new Air Force ads.
ASIS
The name given to Lawson’s new aircraft, as mentioned briefly by Maria, is ASIS. It’s a nod to Marvel’s Ultimate universe where that version of Captain Marvel developed it. Carol was his head of security, and his girlfriend, in that universe.
A Kree Blood Transfusion
We find out that when Carol was brought to Hala, she needed a blood transfusion to stay alive. I like this nod to GH-325 on Agents of SHIELD, but it does make me wonder why Carol was saved from going mad. Is it because that particular Kree on the series had something in his blood that made everyone end up with it driven to find the ancient city? Is it because Carol was already brainwashed into thinking she was Kree? It’s interesting that Kree blood often comes with messing with memories though.
A Kree Imperial Cruiser
Mar-Vell much have had some military connections when she left Hala and came to Earth if she had a cruiser. We’ve seen them before in the MCU commanded by Ronan’s people. The design here is basically the same, but again, it looks like she’s got more tech, likely because the scientific nature of her work. It does make me wonder if she ever ran into the other smaller ships stationed near Earth that were monitoring the planet for Inhuman activity. (Remember the ones left in orbit to destroy the inhuman abominations in Agents of SHIELD?)
The Tesseract
The Space Stone certainly gets a lot of mileage in the MCU. Hydra wanted it, SHIELD experimented with it, Loki stole it, and now, we found out what else SHIELD was doing with it besides Fury’s secret weapons making team. Lawson, though we see her as part of the air force, is a SHIELD scientist. Like I said, PEGASUS is a joint effort by a few groups. She’s using the Tesseract for space travel though, like it should be.
Quadjet
Nice touch that Carol and Maria use a quadjet to rescue the Skrulls. Why? Because just a decade later SHIELD is using the later model - a quinjet.
Carol Stopping The Warheads
This imagery, like a lot of what comes with Carol glowing and flying, is straight out of the comics. She actually flies into Earth’s atmosphere and slows a sentinel from crashing to Earth in one comic. It looks nearly exactly like this sequence, except, you know, there are other Avengers with her in the comics.
Sizzling Power Lines
We hear the crackle of electricity and see power moving along the lines when Carol brings Yon-Rogg to Earth. This looks to be a nod to how her power works in the comics. She doesn’t just magically produce photo blasts. She absorbs ambient energy from her surroundings to fuel herself. That’s why she doesn’t technically need to eat, or even why she doesn’t need to breathe in the vacuum of space. Her power converts energy around her to sources to sustain her.
Mother Flerken
This has to be a nod to the fact that MCU movies don’t drop F-bombs, though Samuel L. Jackson loves them.
Mar-Vell. Two Words.
Fury mistakenly calls Mar-Vell Marvel. Carol corrects him. That’s kind of how the Captain Marvel term came to be in an alternate universe in the comics though. No one could pronounce Mahr-Vell in the Ultimate universe, so people called him Captain Marvel.
“We found her, and we weren’t even looking.”
I know that this is a nod to Fury’s eventual gathering of the Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, and Hawkeye together. But this is also a reminder that for decades, SHIELD was seeking out people with powers. As Agents of SHIELD showed their audience, some of those people were then locked up and exploited by Hydra agents working undercover. SHIELD still likely has a lot of super powered skeletons in its closet.
Mid Credit Scene
What a surprise. Captain Marvel will show up after the pager is activated in Avengers: Endgame. We’re all surprised, right? (Sarcasm, I know.)
Special Thanks
During the credits, there are a slew of comic creators listed in the special thanks section. Among them are heavyweights like Brian Michael Bendis, Mark Waid, Ralph Macchio, Gene Conway, Jack Kirby, and Chris Claremont. I honestly missed that section the first time and didn’t read them fast enough to catch more. But they aren’t directly responsible for Captain Marvel, but instead had a huge effect on Marvel comics as a whole with massive runs for different properties.
Post Credit Scene
Goose coughing up that tesseract was necessary for Fury to later use to attempt to develop weapons, just like Hydra, in a secret SHIELD program that Captain America won’t like in The Avengers.
A few side notes:
Coulson’s Gut
To be perfectly honest, I feel like Coulson’s part was originally just a generic rookie SHIELD agent in the script. I think when they got the chance to add Clark Gregg to the cast, a few things changed, like this exchange between Fury and Carol about going with your gut instead of following orders. That has always been Coulson’s thing. And, even though Fury is always yelling at people to follow orders, it’s actually how he operates too. It’s why he’s always set up ways for himself, and his proteges, to work around the system. I like that it was touched on here since it’s such a big part of Agents of SHIELD.
Coulson’s Kree Knowledge
Does this create a plot hole? Coulson specifically remarks to Fury at the end of the movie that he heard a Kree took out his eye. But when Lady Sif made her appearance on Agents of SHIELD, Coulson had no visible reaction to her telling him that Kree were one of the blue skinned aliens she knows of. Also, does Coulson even know they were (mostly) blue? After all, he might not since his only face to face with a “Kree” was Carol. It makes me wonder if he suspected the alien that provided GH-325 was Kree all along. Obviously, this is just the kind of thing that happens when universes expand, and it can all be explained away with SHIELD’s use of their memory machine on him, but it still makes me wonder.
Fury And The Women Around Him
I love the theme in the MCU of Fury surrounding himself with powerful women. We’ve seen that Maria Hill is his right hand over and over - even when she was working for Stark. We also saw that he and Natasha Romanoff were close. He trusted her to do the dirty work Steve Rogers wouldn’t. We also know he trusted Sharon Carter and Melinda May to report to him directly during their spy work. Now, Carol Danvers inspires the Avengers Initiative and he invites Maria to work with him after spending one mission with her. I want to meet Fury’s mom. Because she must have been one hell of a woman.
That’s it. Anything I missed? Feel free to tell me because there’s no way I caught every Easter egg.

ASOIAF meme
Tagged by @robb-greyjoy, thank you dear!
Rules: Answer the 10 questions below. Then make up 10 of your own for the next person to answer and tag people.
you can change one thing that happened in the course of the story. what do you pick? I mean, any minor change can change the story so much, but probably that someone other than Aeron (i.e. someone who cares about him) is there to welcome Theon to Pyke. Of course it’s essential for the story that he is NOT welcome and DOES NOT feel welcome in the places that should be his home, but listem to me, ok? If he had someone to give him a hug there, it would be so, so good and important, ok?
what’s one POV chapter we haven’t had yet/didn’t have in the books that you would really consider bartering your soul (or corrupting GRRM) for? Robb, no doubt, for his insight on Theon. Because Robb is to direct and honest to not feel his feelings or to avoid thinking about events, so he’s bond to have lots of opinions and thoughts about the Winterfell era. Plus, I want to know all about his gay feelings.
tell us about your favorite under-appreciated character in asoiaf and why they’re great. Ok, I don’t know how under-appreciated he is, but I love Quentyn. I feel like most people don’t like him much because Arianne doesn’t like him and she outshines him so much, but I’m always more into the characters suffering due to stupid duties they have to fulfill than into the rebellious characters. He’s brave, he’s smart, and he knows he’s doomed and he tries anyway because he must, even though heartache is eating him alive and he’s already lost so much even before being burned alive. And he thinks he’s boring and awkward, but he’s not, Barristan’s opinion aside. His friends love him dearly and he had at least one girl that loves him at home and his father relies on him. If he and Arianne had met again, she’d love him too, I’m sure, daddy-issues aside.
what’s that one minor scene no one ever remembers that you wish they did because it says so much about your fave character/ship/the story’s significance? "Please," she said, "I do love you well, milord.""I must go." He hurried after his uncle, who was already well down the pier. Theon caught him with a dozen long strides. "I had not looked for you, Uncle. After ten years, I thought perhaps my lord father and lady mother might come themselves, or send Dagmer with an honor guard." (HE ASKS AFTER HIS PARENTS, OK? And some lines later he asks where Asha is too. He craves their love and approval, he dreamed so much about going back to the Islands and having a family just like the Starks since they wouldn’t have him and that they would welcome him and love him just like the Starks did for each other but not for him, never for him, and he just gets dismissal after dismissal even when he’s trying. I think the manner of his arrival colors much of his interaction with Asha when they do met and have that humiliating convo, misoginy aside, because he just talks all about his grievances with his family with only the slightest probbing, because he needs to talk about it, and she is mad at him for it, but it’s not like he’s going to cry to a hot stranger how he feels bad he’s unloved, so he makes it all about his family’s faults. And at the same time, we have the captains’s daughter desperately trying to show him she loves him, and he dismisses her utterly. There’s some classicism and misoginy in his answer, but you know what else? Theon doesn’t know how to receive affection, he’s embarrassed, he’s umconfortable, he doesn’t know how to be loved because so few people have shown it to him.)
you can bring back one dead character at the price of another’s life. who comes back and who goes? Robb can come back (it can also be Robbwind, god forgive me) and Ramsay is going down.
what’s your favorite character from your least favorite house? Loras.
what’s your least favorite character from your favorite house? Balon (yes, the Greyjoys are my faves, sue me)
you can invite to dinner five people from any time period in asoiaf/pre-canon. who do you choose? I only want chill people for my own safety, but I’m a nerd, so Good Queen Alysanne and Septon Barth, Sam, Sansa and Alleras/Sarella.
what’s the fandom you’d die to see crossovered with asoiaf/got? My head says Full Metal Alchemist but my heart is singing Pegasus Fantasy XD
when the series is over, what end should the iron throne meet in your very humble opinion? (intact? destroyed? intact after a secession? WE WANT TO KNOW) Destroy it!
I’m supposed to make new questions, but those are so good? Unfair XD
1. Who is going to survive and rule each region by the end of the series, in your opinion?
2. What song do your associate with your fave character?
3. A pov you wouldn’t mind not having and why.
4. A moment in the books/show you found cringe-worthy.
5. What is your faves worst characteristics?
6. Your most hated character best characteristics?
7. How would your fave fare in the real world?
8. What do you think will happen to the Night Watch in the next book?
9. Whos is going to bite in before the end, and who’ll survive winter?
10. Who GRRM killed and then realized he shouldn’t have?
I’m tagging @blueagia, @cafeleningrad, @distractedbylife, @incblackbird, @lordhellebore, @omgellendean, @wedonnotcare, @wynafryd-manderly, and @togglemaps, if you guys want <3

Yugioh has so many missed opportunities that I'm almost 100% sure you could have atleast five entirely different manga from that alone, I mean
-Takahashi's original veiw of a horror manga about an "evil" spirit making death games to torture people
-A series that concentrates ALOT more on Atem's past and delves deeper into things like the creation of the items, the battle between the pharaoh and the theif king, magic in ancient Egypt, the creation of duel monsters as soldiers versus a game, etc
-The original idea behind Atem's past with Preist Seto being Atem's freind turned enemy and the two of them being locked in an eternal battle, with closure being modern!Seto and Atem's relationship starting as enemies and ending up as freinds, with modern!Seto taking possession of the Millennium Rod again and reclaiming his memories
-Sticking with the tournament style of storytelling and getting to meet more diverse duelists and keeping more of the side charectors (like Mai, Marik, Duke Devlin, etc) around as actual competitors, growing their motivations and fleshing them out, and Atem's past unraveling slowly by meeting more possessors of Millennium Items throughout these tournaments (this is especially true if we're talking about the anime because the anime went on for so much longer than the manga and it would have made more sense to stick with the tournament style for that)
-The God cards remaining a bigger and better plot point, Joey having technically beaten Marik means that he's the true owner of Ra and instead of Atem having the cards and just... sorta... putting them in a drawer to never be used again... he, Seto, and Joey all have their chosen god card to use throughout the series before ultimately putting the god cards to rest with the Millennium Items, and sort of combining a little on the third idea, each Millennium Item having a modern day "rightfull owner", as this point was sort of roller-coastered about (the eye chose Pegasus for example, but when he stopped being worthy, it no longer worked for him, the same happened to Ishizu with the necklace) and wile they all could be put away in the ground at the end, multiple allies of Atem's being able to control/possess one of the items would have been really really cool (IE: Seto, as the reincarnation of Seth, having rights to the rod, Atem having the puzzle, Ishizu keeping the necklace, etc) and some of those owners could simply be chosen as Worthy because the original owner didn't have a modern reincarnation (IE: since Mahaad was unable to reincarnate, Ryou was chosen as the "rightfull" owner, and should have been able to *use* the ring instead of merely being *possessed* by it, perhaps Joey could have proven himself worthy enough to possess one of the items, that sort of thing)
And this is just what could be *ENTIRE* series of their own (I'm sure this isn't all of it either) there are so many charectors that deserved better stories, arcs, or explanations that maybe could have gotten more of their stories told in one of these formats (IE: Mai, Marik, and Duke almost certainly would have gotten better treatment if the tournament storytelling had stuck longer and they had been allowed to really participate past Battle City, the story of Kul Elna and the ancient Egyptian charectors could have been much better handled with a more expanded story about Egypt, etc) and on the one hand I'm so glad fanfiction and roleplay and the fandom community exists for this reason but on the other hand it's just ... I've seen ALOT of books/shows/etc with missed opportunities but I'm not sure if I've ever seen one that's simple as varied in the "The groundwork is there for this, it just needed to be expanded on" type of what-ifs as YGO and it's unfortunate that instead of those expansions we just keep getting progressively futurisitc spin-offs with entirely different charectors and more really weird mainverse tie-ins (I'm sorry, a dueling academy is never going to make sense to me)
I love YGO so much but I can't help really wishing it had taken some different spins here and there- or atleast tied up some of the stories it began a little bit better, even if they were just little charector epilogues that.. made a bit more sense
I would have settled for anime filler

AD ASTRA 2018: A CRITICAL REPORT, DAY 1: Friday July 13th, 2018
Tumblr media
Ad Astra! The GTA’s King of Science Fiction Book Conventions! My associate Drew B.S. Reynard aka B.S. Pegasus and I left for the con on a hot and sunny Friday afternoon, my sorry excuse for a wallet (an old mailing envelope) stuffed near to ripping with colorful bills that would soon be spent on an infinity of BOOKS. Drew and I had been discussing my grumpiness at the fact that reading novels does not seem to be nearly as popular with the geeky public these days as it was back when I was a little schoolgirl, there being an infinity of competing media out there to consume *cough* Netflix *cough* in this year of 2018 A.D. So, on that note, I hope that the following Adventure Report just might convince you, Dear Reader, to pick up a new book or two! READING IS GOOD AND WONDERFUL!
Before starting our rounds at the convention, we stopped by Made in Japan’s Teriyaki emporium for a delightful evening meal. The spicy food I ordered stung my eyes, but I figured as long as I didn’t make eye contact with my meal it would be all good (and it was delicious indeed!). And then, on to AD ASTRA! My first order of business was a tour of the Dealer’s Room. Myth Hawker Travelling Bookstore really caught my EYE: they were selling a number of books from various small Canadian publishers, many of which I had never heard of before. I really liked the cover art of many of these indie books, particularly those featuring detailed sci-fi and fantasy paintings. It is a fact of life that I am often seen online lamenting the state of modern book cover art, as many of the titles from major publishers these days generally feature large-sized text or modern-style graphics on the covers rather than awesome paintings…this has probably contributed to my current habit of hoarding titles published in the 60’s and 70’s. It’s very nice to see modern indie companies follow in the classic tradition: long live painted cover art! I stopped by artist/writer Sharon Sasaki’s booth on the way out of the dealer’s room…her series of endangered animal paintings was very impressive, filled with vivid colors and textures! She also brought along her military science fiction books, Welcome to the Madhouse and it’s sequel, Bud by the Grace of God, a set of novels which she described as being somewhat similar to M.A.S.H. Make sure to visit her website at: www.sesasaki.com After my little shopping tour, I attended my first panel of the con, “The Nature & History of Witchcraft”, presented by Graham J. Darling PhD (a research chemist and member of the SCA). I thought the title was a little misleading, as it was mainly about practitioners of harmful magic and other evildoings; using the terms “witch” and “witchcraft” felt very much like adhering to the unfortunate stereotype of witches being evil. Perhaps “The Nature & History of Black Magic” (or something along those lines) may have worked better? Dr. Darling started off with an introduction to various magic-using figures throughout history and classic literature, and then moved on to examining historical accusations and witch hunts. I can’t speak for the accuracy of the presenter’s information, though a few of the audience members were not impressed. His knowledge of Wicca and modern Witchcraft, in particular, seemed very lacking.   Once this presentation was over, I headed directly to “The Mines and Foundries of the Imagination: Where Do You Get Your Ideas”, hosted by authors Luke Maynard, Stephanie Bardy, Stephanie Bedwell-Grime, Arlene F. Marks, Amanda Sun, Mike Rimar, and Brad Horner. I loved this panel, and found it both very entertaining and very informative! A few of the useful tips I learned for those times when my brain (AND YOURS!) can’t seem to formulate any decent story ideas: 1. Try “What If’s” 2. Look up a stupid law, and write a story describing why it exists! 3. Start with someone else’s story (Star Wars, for example), and then replace one thing at a time until it’s unrecognizable (Star Wars…with PIRATES). 4. Read a lot! It also helps to avoid reading books from the genre you’re writing at the time…you might find something more unique this way! 5. Get your ideas from dreams! (this happens to be my preferred choice of idea-finding) 6. Take note of weird little things in real life that present questions. I’m not sure why this is the first thing that popped into my head, but I just remembered a time when I saw a dog walking down the street with an extra long tongue and had to point it out to my friends. POTENTIAL STORY HERE??? 7. Pick 3 random books and combine their ideas! 8. Use “Random Meme” facebook titles (those games where “if you were born in November, you’re a werewolf”, and “if you were born on the 3rd of the month, you’re also really smelly”, those sorts of memes that everyone has seen 4.5K times). 9. Use cut-up sentences (from newspapers or old, mediocre magazines that are heading to the garbage anyway. DO NOT CUT UP BOOKS, books are special.) 10. Finally, check out the #mswl hashtag on Twitter, to find “manuscript wish list” posts (I do not use Twitter, though YOU, Dear Reader, might.) Apologies if that particular section of my write-up felt a little long! I always end up becoming massively stuck whenever I think of what to write for a fictional story…all of the above sound like fun and helpful suggestions! Overall, the Friday of Ad Astra was a fairly short and relaxing event; I attended only the two panels described above, and spent maybe an hour or so wandering around. Of note: I managed to meet up with Julie Dobson, author of Lester’s Great Adventure…a super cute book I happened to illustrate! Check out Julie’s website at: http://juliemdobson.com/ ! Sadly, I was not able to attend Ad Astra’s regular Karaoke session at the hotel bar, though past editions of this get-together have been great fun! (I have never participated though; I’ve only ever been an enthusiastic audience member. I am the opposite of Snow White: when I sing, small animals RUN AWAY.) As the evening drew to a close, my head was filled with thoughts of going back home to my sweet doggie. HOWEVER. One final, magnificent stop awaited Drew and I before we could leave: A delightful room on the top floor of the hotel where lucky congoers could find the mythical, magical…Walking Tacos. One of them, in fact, walked right into my stomach. DELICIOUS!!

wait omg ive never met a fan of the pegasus series !!!!!
Oh well we can fix that! Hello! I am quil bookwyrminspiration, and I am a fan of the Pegasus Series by Kate O'Hearn! Now you've met one :)
I adored those books when I was younger and reread them as many times as I did keeper--although I didn't keep up with my rereads so my knowledge has faded a bit. But I've still got them all on my shelf! And I've got O'Hearn's newer books as well, though I haven't read them yet.
My favorite has always been book 4, Origins of Olympus. I could never quite put my finger on why but I just loved it. Something about the relationships/camaraderie and discovery of ancient history, perhaps? And the time fuckery was interesting as well.
I must admit I cannot stand book 5 though, Rise of the Titians. Lauren just...Palen I don't know what you see in her I could not stand her. Was very glad when we stopped focusing on her. Maybe I'd be kinder to her if I reread it now that I'm a bit older, but I'm not certain. Old habits die hard and my habit is being annoyed by Lauren.
I've only ever met one other person who's read the pegasus series, and that was Nattie--I actually bought and gave him the first two books in the new Titans series, but we fell out of touch so i'm not sure if he's read them. I have not yet, but I plan to!
Anyway, I read the pegasus series so much! Dear to me even though it's not as popular and I don't talk about it very much :)

Fairy Tail Chapter 532-533 Review
youtube
I'm not entirely sure if this is affected by Golden Week, but regardless, we are treated with double chapters. I'm not sure if this is a sign that the series is ending before the movie, but it's narrowly close to it as the final boss has traditionally evolved to the unstoppable form. As the arc reaches to the exciting phase, there may be a sign that things could go a bit odd.
When it comes to entertainment, I'll say that it was a success as the event begins to enter the last act or the middle of the last act, however you prefer it. The first chapter focuses on Zeref and his bidding farewell to Mavis as he makes his move that has no return. The second chapter focuses more on one buildup with the Book of END and the showcase of immortal.
Truth be told, I thought the first chapter was the strongest of the two. It's mainly because the focus didn't drift away to show sign that a new deus ex machina is underway and this was a moving chapter. It's practically the last confrontation with Mavis before Zeref's master plan begins.
We do see more of Acnologia and Pegasus as it gradually gets worse for Pegasus, so it's only matter of time that they will lose. Jellal decides to handle the situation alone. Hm, well I have yet seen a storyboard with him for the next movie, so perhaps there is a death flag after all. It's a preparation stage as with Zeref enters the climax.
It's a bit strange that Natsu goes to his dragon mode and proceed to be halted by Mavis. It's like we have no right to be thrilled with the action. I thought that was strange on how the last chapter's cliffhanger suggests a lot of fighting. I don't even know if I should be bummed or be fine with it. It does engage to the next part quicker as Zeref grabs Mavis and begins to drain her magic. Good work, Mavis.
Zeref announces his reasoning behind the plan and it's a convincing argument on his behalf, I'll give him that. In fact, this part is emotional. He claims that Acnologia could not be defeated by magic, so that would mean for eternally, Mavis and Zeref would have to endure the beating by him forever.
The whole scene is what sells the chapter. Mavis thought he can be killed by Acnologia, but it turns out he can't die at all; it's an endless torture. In short, Zeref will lose if he doesn't pull Neo Eclipse. That fear look in his face is telling on how desperate he must do this.
Zeref has no choice since he can't even defeat Acnologia. It's like saying, "Well I can't beat him. Time to use cheat code." He has to go a different direction to win. The sad part is that Zeref in a way doesn't want to do it because he did cherish the moment with Mavis. Now that he's heading towards to his main goal, his last words to her is where his true color shows. For a while, we have seen him as a total villain, even if we know some of his other traits. Now he finally lets out.
It is a tender moment and it ends with a farewell address that they may not see each other in a restart timeline. But he promise to defeat Acnologia in the timeline as comparing to the first page, which by the way confirm that they went all the way, signify that he can't live in this world anymore.
It is pretty dark, but if Zeref knows about the Time Lapse, why not use it on Acnologia? Unless this is his way of hinting that whatever Anna is doing won't work. Maybe it can be that, I don't know entirely. I can't say if that's considered a plot hole, but perhaps I should wait further for anything new. In his defense, I could still see a reason to use Neo Eclipse: to start as a normal kid again.
What's also strange is that they had a love scene. I assume that first on-panel kiss was the confirmation of the pairing. When did that happen? I thought the pairing confirmed and then she goes to sleep. I wonder if that's considered a retcon. I guess the pairing confirmation happened much earlier.
Now that Zeref has absorbed her magic, he does the pose that pretty much yells, "Here is the perfection!" I wonder if that would mean he would be going around saying "ningen." In the end, he achieves the White Mage form and yes, this is the final boss transformation, shounen style; but I do like the design.
The second chapter is more of showcasing the power-up of Zeref, the White Mage. It's a typical format that when a villain gain a new power, they will have to look devastating and somehow always begin fresh and untouchable. Therefore the chapter actually goes by quicker than the last.
It does have some moments that are worth noting, even if one is more on standby but perhaps not for long. Fairy Tail members such as Laxus and Gildartz are reunited, meaning their battle has ended. I think it is a bit of a shame is for now at least that the finale will only leave those main characters we have seen many times.
Granted, they are main characters but I feel as if the side characters didn't get so much momentum before closing the series. I always adore on how Full Metal Alchemist handles the finale, and while it doesn't have to be the same, it should have been treated better. But maybe there's room for one last moment.
There is a small sad moment that does play a part later on and that's a reminder of Makarov's death. It's a bit sad that Laxus couldn't return home to give him the proper sendoff. I'm still puzzled if he is dead for good or resurrection is on hold. The series is close to the end, so we shall wait and see.
The part that is interesting yet worrisome is with the Book of END. As odd as it was to see it return abruptly because of Zeref's transformation, it's a bit shaky that another deus ex machina is in preparation and it has to do with changing the letters. I don't know if it's only fixing the problem of Natsu will die if Zeref dies, but that's concerning. It's like something out of Studio Trigger animation, where it can go over the top fast and become stylish Dragon Ball Z.
Lucy insists to find a way to change the letters, so we'll see how that plays out. Judging by the last part of chapter, it's no coincidence that it may be a case of "just in time." It is true that it is "logical" that the book would connect to Natsu, so changing something would change him as well, but hopefully it's not that easy.
As for the last part, it's pretty much the showcase of  immortal. Natsu whips out a powerful attack at him that it would have been amusing if Zeref really got heavily damaged. It would be a nice change. Of course, he is unharmed, though his power now allows him to rewind the event, fixing the Guild in process. I wonder if Mashima is a fan of Dragon Maid.
The best part to me is Natsu said sorry to Makarov for destroying the Guild, yet Zeref taunts him by repairing it so to say and stabs the hell out of him. The badass line comes after by replying back at him with, "no need to apologize; because he's already dead." Natsu not only lost single-handedly, but learning about his master's death destroyed him for good. That was a really good scene.
Both chapters have pretty solid art and it's done more on the emotional level, including the action set piece. Zeref's transformation design looks neat, though I get that he's a white mage, it wouldn't hurt to have some shade. I wonder if the color would help out though. It does come across as a fantasy game final boss look. As for the set pieces, they are presented well with Zeref's last words to Mavis and Natsu's defeat. That shot of him in defeat is well addressed.
Overall, despite some of the questionable parts and iffy developments that could lead to a game changer with least rewarding, I had a good time with these two chapters. It has a moving moment with Zeref and Mavis, Acnologia continues to put pressure, so there's tension behind it, and although in a typical fashion, Zeref in his new form presented strong with that one hit and line. The series has now enter the last phase; be ready for a farewell.

Dating 911 by Kathleen Grieve
Commiserating with girlfriends over butterscotch martinis, emergency room nurse, Roxanne Carter creates the idea of The Dating Manifesto—a not so scientific research project which promises to point the way to dating success. She wades through a series of unsavory, stale dates while gathering data to find the potentially most suitable single men available, literally putting her back at ground zero.
Just when she is ready to give up on dating, in walks sin personified in the form of a sexy firefighter, tainting all of her previous data.
A traumatic warehouse fire leaves firefighter Jett Avery's closest friend dead. The false mask of charm and pretense is slipping as Jett tries to repress his turbulent emotions, remorse, and guilt. After months of anguish, the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder seems to be taking over his life and he needs an outlet, fast. In an attempt to combat the worst of his depression, he decides to use his brand of therapy—Sex. The remedy, usually a quick pick me up for Jett, has lost its luster. He is almost ready to give up until he encounters a wicked seductress who ignites a fire he's not ready to put out any time soon. The bonus? She's an ER nurse with just the right kind of healing, the missing element Jett's search had not yet uncovered. He finally feels alive when he's in her presence.
Jett’s twin brother, emergency room Doctor Cruz Avery, the playboy of the ER, decides Roxanne is the woman for him. He places all brotherly affection aside and is in hot pursuit, complicating an already tricky situation.
Roxanne finds herself battling a growing competition between brothers for her affection. She discovers she’s drawn to both men, making it difficult not to compare them, and finds herself with an important choice to make. Jett hounds her during every date, and the irresistible hunk generates an indomitable need to play with fire. Yet, there are qualities in Cruz that slide right into the appropriate dating criteria of her Manifesto.
Does she choose the brother who by analysis is the perfect match? Or the one she can’t resist?

Saltwater Siren by Muffy Wilson
Was it love at first sight? Perhaps. Many thought it might have been the work of the unscrupulous Sea Witch, Hermione, long a bitter and banished King’s Court Matron. So, was it the crafty wiles of Hermione, scheming to seek her sordid revenge, or was it a simple matter of serendipity? All we know for certain is that two young royals, one landed and one not, met during a raging storm as fierce and intense as the love they would none too soon escape. Was it fate, design, or—perhaps—black magic? Who’s to say?
What we do know is that it was sensuous, erotic, and insatiable as they fought to extinguish the passions that flamed their heat by indulging in every desire that swept them into one another’s arms. Their shared carnal voracity fanned an appetite no amount of indulgence could satisfy.
After all, it happened…Once upon a time…

Kiss of the Fallen by Kharma Kelley
Dear Readers, I just wanted to be left alone. I wanted nothing to do with the war brewing among all the Supernaturals and have grown tired of fighting all these centuries. All of us are screwed up anyway; but who am I to judge who drinks blood and who eats souls?     As luck (or lack thereof) would have it, I get sucked into one last mission with the vampires and the next thing I know, I find a half-naked demon chained to my bed; and let's just say she is not happy.  And, as much as I enjoy seeing a beautiful woman grace my bed, unfortunately, I'm not happy either.     Of all demons, someone delivers to me a Black Blood Slayer; demons bred to do one thing and one thing only: kill vampires.  Her blood is spiked with a desire I long to tame, but if I do, I could be six-feet under... again. And this time forever.  But her fighter's spirit and tenderness shakes me to my missing soul, wanting to claim her with a need I cannot name.  But with both of us on the run and my people gunning for us, how can I be sure she wants me to love or to kill?     -Commander Tristan Castillion, Vampire Royal Guard
Selene by Shelique Lize
My name is Selene and I am a moon goddess. Between my siblings and me, we control the balance of the universe. Without us, the mortal and immortal realms would be thrust into eternal chaos. Don’t ask me what that means. It’s what I’ve been told for as long I can remember. I have never questioned my existence because it was the only life I have ever known. Then one day, everything changed when I became enthralled with the earth.
I couldn’t resist the alluring beauty that beckoned me almost every single night. My curiosity was so fierce and dominate, it was becoming impossible to ignore it and I gave in. I found the only god brave enough to take me to the mortal realm but he wanted something in return. He wanted my body, and I gave it to.
I went to earth and experienced life like never before. It was like my eyes were opening and I started to question my entire existence. Feelings all of a sudden are very present and then everything changed again, when I fell in love with a human.
Being a goddess has never been so complicated.
