#personally I think the link that went into the shrine is not the one that came out

It's pretty fun for me to play Zelda games in a manner mostly isolated from fandom opinions. Like don't get me wrong I've absorbed a lot of LOZ spoilers, headcanons, interpretations etc. via osmosis, I am not playing these games blind. But regardless of how many spoilers and fanart/fanfic I've seen going through the AO3 tag after playing BOTW was still an Experience because it made me realize that the way I interpret both Link as a character and the game as a whole is apparently completely counter to the majority fandom opinion. Something I was blissfully oblivious to while playing the game.

Okay SO. Theory Rush after finishing Tears of the Kingdom. Go.
The Zonai are said to have descended from the heavens to help found Hyrule. I can think of another race that descended from the heavens. Do you guys think the minish are native to the Zonai sky islands?
Does the Depths set look a little familiar to you? This along with Josha's theory that people once lived down there, I wonder if the interlopers were present in the Depths before being banished to the twilight realm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The architecture and robot designs from Skyward Sword have a distinct Zonai look to them! So that leads me to believe the Zonai were the race that created the Lanayru Mining Facility.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It might even be that the Past from Skyward Sword is indeed the time period that Zelda was transported back to! Maybe the legacy of the kingdom of Hyrule goes back even further than the fight between Hylia and Demise: though I admit the early appearance of Demon King Ganondorf throws a wrench in this theory.
About secret stones and the amber relics in Skyward Sword: I want to say there's a connection between them, though amber relics don't seem to be as rare and important as secret stones, (we find them in abundance in Skyward Sword and they don't do much). Of course, i haven't played SS in a while so if they have any more significance it's escaping me at the moment. For the time being I'd like to think ancient hylians might have carried them around as good luck charms to emulate secret stones of their own.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Legend of the Great Sky Island mini quest in has the construct telling us that the island was supposed to be where a hero will one day awaken to defeat the Demon King. I know our Link wakes up on this island, but there's definitely something eating at my brain about the Great Sky Island being related to (or perhaps even IS) Skyloft, and that the awakening of the hero is referring to Skyward Sword Link. (This potentially supports the theory that the Past in TOTK predates the war between Hylia and Demise)
There's a pretty good chance that Rauru and Sonia's child could have been named Zelda, after the sweet time traveling girl they practically adopted :) the first princess of Hyrule named after the last princess of Hyrule.
There is a giant dragon skeleton in the Gerudo Desert Depths, big as or even bigger than Farosh, Dinraal and Naydra. It is my belief that this mystery dragon became a dragon ala Secret Stone alongside the three aboveland, but was killed at some point in the Depths. I don't know what four people decided to become dragons, but my strongest theory is that Dinraal, Farosh and Naydra are the draconified forms of the oracles of the Golden Goddesses, Din, Farore and Nayru. So who is this?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seeing as the Lightroots underground are activated via Zonai hand terminal and each Lightroot lies directly beneath a shrine on the surface, I think the Lightroots are extensions of these shrines, having grown straight downward to light up the underground. This is probably obvious but I just barely figured this out 😅
Since Rauru, sage of light, and a new Temple of Time are in this game, I want to think that this person and location are more than just Easter Eggs to Ocarina of Time. I think that the sage from Ocarina of Time was named after King Rauru, though I'm not sure whether him being the sage of light would have been a coincidence or a direct inspiration.
What I do think is that he indeed did put the triforce in that very same Temple of Time and all the sky islands went to the Sacred Realm until Tears of the Kingdom, when they came back to earth and appeared in the sky. That's just a theory but why else would the sky islands be reappearing as if from nowhere?
Speaking of which, there were floating masses in the sky in Minish Cap, namely great big stone temples and fortresses. Minish Cap takes place during the early days of Hyrule, which would be pretty much right after the Zonai descended. Perhaps the Zonai are the Wind Tribe mentioned, and the people we see in game are their descendants, who look much more hylian than Zonai due to being crossed with full hylian genetics over the generations?
Anyway I need to retouch up on my Zelda lore to make sure I'm getting the details right, (that, and i haven't yet 100% the game so i may be missing some totk context), but I HAD to post my thoughts and get them out there! I'll add on later if I think of any more, in the meantime feel free to brainstorm!

feelings on the ‘link who went into the shrine of resurrection isnt the same one who came out’ theory/hc? apologies if this has already been clarified
sigh. this theory occupies the exact same niche in my mind as the "link is dead in mm" theory tbh (by which i mean its the bane of my fucking existence.) Technically, i believe it is possible within the preestablished lore of the franchise. However, I think the only way you come to a conclusion like this is by deliberately ignoring a lot of the writing of the game.
in my opinion, loz as a franchise is at its best when it functions as a thematic narrative. my favorite games in the series all function as narratives on two levels--the first is the obvious one, the hero's journey story that the player actually physically plays through. the second level is the one that really hooks ME on these games though, and that's the thematic level. oot, for example, is essentially a story about a young boy going on a journey to save his kingdom. But on a thematic level, it's about the relationships between adults and children and the trauma of growing up. breath of the wild functions similarly. essentially it is a story about a boy waking up with no memories and saving a princess from a monster. but on a thematic level, botw is a commentary on trauma and growth and healing.
the gist of the theory you're talking about is that the original pre-calamity link was unable to be resurrected and the shrine of resurrection just made a new one in his place, and that's why he has no memories. depending on how deep into the theory you go, some suggest that everyone the original link knew pre-calamity is in on this conspiracy and are deliberately gaslighting the new link into believing he is the same person as the original. to be entirely honest, i think it technically works on a purely literal level. COULD the shrine of resurrection have probably made a new link? yes. COULD zelda and everyone else be conspiring to convince link he's a real boy? sure. technically yes. there's not REALLY anything wrong with this from an in-universe standpoint. it's all technically possible. but imo the only way to come to this conclusion is to ignore the fact that botw functions on a secondary level as a metaphor.
I think there's a tendency among a certain type of superfan to forget that media is created by PEOPLE, and that writing decisions are made deliberately. especially in a game as vast and immersive as botw, it's admittedly easy to forget sometimes that the world and the narrative were crafted by human beings and therefore narrative and worldbuilding decisions were made for a reason. but if you take a step back and analyze it from a writer's perspective, botw's thematic narrative is almost richer than its face-value story. it's built into the characters, the world, the lore, EVERYTHING in the game is structured around its central themes. this is part of what i believe makes botw such a successful and relatable game. Its central message, that it's never too late for growth, that healing is possible, that just because things are broken doesn't mean they can't be fixed, is woven so beautifully into the very bones of the game. There's a REASON that link wakes up with no memories, and it's not because he's a victim of a kingdom-wide conspiracy about his own death. it's because he is meant to seem broken beyond repair. he wakes up on the near-abandoned great plateau--DELIBERATELY abandoned, because the player is meant to view the world as broken beyond repair at this point in the story, with no memories, no heart containers, no stamina. A shell of the warrior he once was. and the rest of the game is dedicated to the discovery that he can heal. he can find his memories, he can grow stronger, he can form new relationships and he can do better. hope was not lost when he fled hyrule castle 100 years ago. hope is never lost so long as there are people who are willing to keep trying to rebuild. hyrule is not a dead, abandoned kingdom as it first seems when you awake. Hyrule is ALIVE. there are cities and stables and merchants and travelers and people living and dying and continuing on every single day.
to suggest that link didn't actually survive requires you to, at best, deliberately ignore all of that thematic setup, and at worst, retcon it out of existence. if link isn't really link, if the whole world is conspiring against him, then that means that the original link really was doomed. that he can never heal from what happened to him. that he was exactly what he believed himself to be--a failure who doomed hyrule to a century of suffering. it removes link's agency and his impact as the main character of this story--if he was never hurt in the first place, he has nothing to heal from. there's no message there, nothing to be learned. he's just going through the motions of the story because he's been told to--arguably falling into the exact same trap that the original did.
again, is the theory technically plausible? yes. in-universe, the groundwork exists for it to have happened. but if you refuse to look at a narrative outside of its own governing universe, it's easy to forget that people tell stories for a reason. botw is written the way it is because its writers had something to say. Why does link lose all his memories after the shrine? In-universe, this is a mystery, yes. to someone who is only willing to examine that plot point within the confines of that universe, yeah, it seems like a plot hole, and yeah, this theory might explain it. but from a writer's perspective, it's not a plot hole at all. it's a clear, deliberate writing decision. just because a story asks you to suspend your disbelief a little bit for the sake of the greater narrative doesn't mean that the writers are actually secretly plotting a conspiracy and link isn't really link. it means you're being asked to either willingly suspend your disbelief, or examine why you're being asked to do so from a writing standpoint.

Hello Beautiful Beasties!
Smut-tember 23, Day 19: Wild x Reader(GN) - A Deserved Rest
Summary: Wild has been searching high and low for a way to get Zelda back. With all his hard work, he deserves a time of rest and enjoy his time with you.
Word count: 1,621
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You had known Link since he moved into the little house across the bridge in Hateno, giving him a warm welcome home. Your grandparent knew Link when they were children, Link living in the same house with his parents. Your grandparent had heard of the Shrine of Resurrection and made it their job to make sure that the house Link grew up in stayed ready for him when he woke. It became your job and you did your best with it.
You watched over his property while he was gone for weeks doing hero stuff and you admired him for how dedicated he was with the burden he was given. He needed one less thing to worry about and you did that for him.
One of those times that you were in his house while he roamed the country, you cleaned up the place a bit, inside and out. Exhausted, you fell asleep on his bed, telling yourself it was only an hour. It wasn't…
You slept until it was dark, distant thunder waking you. You startled at the realization, then startled again when you saw Link sitting in his chair near the bed. You bolted up, apologizing profusely for your actions. He only smiled and told you that you were always welcome in his house and in his bed.
You didn't think you heard him correctly at first or think that he was that blunt with things, but when he stood with eyes locked with yours, you sat back down on the edge of the bed. “How long have you been here while I was asleep?”
“Long enough to hear you say my name over and over while dreaming.” He tilted his head slightly to the side, asking, “Wanna tell me what it was about?”
You couldn’t hide the blush on your cheeks or how they became more red as you looked at the outline of his hardened cock. Being the type of person to act more so on impulses, like him, you grabbed the belt that went around his hips, pulling him closer. He gave a delighted hum as if hoping you would show instead of tell.
You had stripped him of the belts, unlaced his trousers, yanked everything down to get to the object that had been filling your dreams, taking it in your mouth. That was the first of many encounters like that and you looked forward to every single one of them.
When the princess was saved and brought to Hateno to live, you felt welcomed by her. She seemed rather attached to Link and he to her. When asked, Link told you that she needed someone she could trust after so many years tucked away and that he felt a duty to help her adjust to her new life and that she would never mean anything to him in the way you did. You were suspicious of that, but he was true to his word. After a few months of traveling to reacquaint the princess with the other races of Hyrule, Link came back to you and moved in with you, giving her majesty a place of her own until she became queen.
Then the Upheaval happened and both Link and the princess went missing for months. You were relieved to see Link again, thinking the worst had happened to him.
You wanted this time to be different for him when it came to being the hero. Last time he had you, but it didn’t compare to how you thought it should have been. So when Link said he built a new house and wanted it to be a home for the both of you, you vowed to make the home a place of rest and not a place of anxiety over the princess. You were going to take care of him.
“Ooooh no you don’t! Shower, clean clothes, sleep and eat is the only thing you are doing today Mr. Hero of Hyrule.”
“I could just go to a shrine if I wanted to.”
“No. Now get going to the shower.” You swatted at him to get going to the small bath house around the back of the house.
He pouted, getting closer to you. “But I took a rain shower yesterday.”
Huffing you corrected him. “That is not the same thing and you know it.”
He kept pushing. “I need to go see Teba toni-”
“All you are seeing is the inside of your eyelids, one way or another. You have been non-stop for weeks and everyone knows it. Take at least one day for yourself to rest and recover. You deserve that.”
“Okay okay.” he laughed. "What if I wanna see more than just that?” He was looking at your rear, only covered by an undergarment. You threw the ladle in hand at him, making both of you laugh harder.
You cleaned all his weapons, shields, clothes before moving onto taking care of his beloved Epona. The sweet girl was easy to work with. Back inside, you started preparing dinner and something sweet. As the foods cooked, you restocked supplies for Link. He was always running out.
Busy portioning out meals for him on the road you didn’t hear Link come down the steps or get behind you until his arms were circling around you, chin on your shoulder. He hummed a sleepy “Hi”, nuzzling his face into the crook of your neck.
“Hi to you too. How are you feeling now?” Link had been asleep for over eight hours.
“Hungry.” When wasn’t he?
“You can eat when I am done separating the food.”
Link’s hands laid on your hips, dipping into your trousers. His right hand that was replaced during his few months sleep was a bit cooler, giving a contrast of temperatures. The nails on that said hand scraped upward on soft skin, giving you goosebumps. “What if I am hungry for something else?”
You could already feel yourself getting aroused just from the little bit he was doing and saying. You must have been more deprived of his touch than you thought. You took a steady breath, closing your eyes to pay attention to his warmth against you. “And what would this something else be?”
His left hand stroked you as his right went to your entrance, nails threatening to hurt you if you moved wrong. It was his way of controlling your movements. “Something tall and oh so sweet.” His right fingers worked their way inside you as he described your body out loud.
You moaned out his name as fingers thrusted in and out of you, other hand still stroking. You were losing against his menstruation and wanted to give into it. “L-Link… I’m close.”
Link stopped and removed himself from inside you. “I’m going to take off your trousers and when they are off, lift one leg onto the counter for me.” You give a nod.
The cold air of the house had you shivering, but you still did as he asked. Leg up, you wait for his move. You jumped when his mouth kissed your rear, going inward to your entrance. He spread you open, tongue pushing inside.
You grabbed the edge of the counter so you didn’t fall and you would if he wasn’t holding you in place. His tongue did wonders, but you wanted something else of his. “Link please.” You wiggled in the most teasing way with his mouth still on you.
His right hand slides up your spine slowly until he has it on the back of your neck, pressing you forward and down. You loved when he held you down like this, making you obey. The sound of clothes being tossed without a care made you bite your lip. It was one step close to what you were wanting.
A thick cock head rubbed circles around your entrance and you wanted to growl at how torturous the anticipation was. He knew what he was doing, how the waiting would make your neediness rise. He too slowly pressed into you, giving you only enough at a time to keep you begging.
He stopped all motion when he was flush with you and it took everything in you to not move more than enough to adjust to the feeling. Feeling his stuttering breath on your back said that he was struggling too. “How do you want this?” He asked in a lust tone.
“Hard and fast.” tumbled out without thinking. Link didn’t hesitate to start ramming into you full force, thrusts quick and hard. You were more sensitive from the waiting he made you do and you already had tears at the corners of your eyes, voice high pitched, nearly a scream. Anyone going by the house was going to get an earful of how fantastic their hero felt as he fucked you with everything he could offer.
Your leg slipped out the counter, but it didn’t matter, Link wasn’t going to stop. His hand reached around to force you to climax and you actually did scream out as your body seized up with the intense please. Link still didn’t stop. He didn’t stop until he knew you couldn’t take anymore and that alone was his satisfaction. He could have ended then and been fine, but you felt too good around him, squeezing tight like a vise and he came.
He pulled you upright so your back was to his chest, asking, “Are you doing okay?” He was panting against your neck, holding you tight.
“More…”
“Neither of us are leaving this house until we have had enough of each other.” Three days…It was three days before you two couldn’t move any more and had to stop the intense bedroom activities
Keep it Naughty you Beaitiful Beasties!🖤
I love how you just pointed out that the Hero’s Aspect opens the door for theorizing because like…for all the stuff that is unexplained in totk, I actually like it that way BECAUSE I can make theories, you know? I feel like people wanted stuff shoved in their faces and just chalked it up to “Nintendo is lazy” when they didn’t get that.
I am sort of split between the sentiments? Some unexplained things are soooo fun to explore and analyze because like you said, it is not in-your-face obvious what they mean and they could mean a million different things! They exist, they are there, they were definitely put in the game to be noticed, and yet they weren't explained. For example, the Hero's Aspect, or the connection between dragons and Zonai, or the exact locations of the ancient palace and temples and other places we see in the Tears. I only need a little clue and I will be thinking about it for months, exploring and looking and reading and having so much fun without EVER having my theories proven right. Headcanons are fun!!! Imagination is fun!!! BotW and TotK lean into it with their entire weighs. You make your own story in these games.
On the other hand, some things are sooo weirdly retcon-y, even when only compared to BotW. Why does the Zonai Forgotten Temple predate the Loftwing-style Forgotten Temple and doesn't even feature Hylia's statue? Why are we establishing Rauru as the one from whom Zelda inherits her sealing powers instead of Hylia? Why is Gerudo King Ganondorf given a totally different backstory to the one he had in BotW? The funniest thing is that these issues are so easily fixed. Reframe the beginning of the cutscene so we never enter the Forgotten Temple proper and stick to the Zonai rooms. Make Sonia the one with the sealing powers and the Zonai ancestors the one with the time powers. The Ganon one is not from the main game and is instead from the Creating a Champion book so it can technically be overlooked, but still, big L for me and every other person lovingly thumbing through that book.
And then there is the third option, some things are double-edged from the get-go. I don't need an explanation for where the Sheikah tech went - obviously it was either dismantled or repurposed, and the PurahPad and the towers still work powered on the blue source so it's not like it magically disappeared... But what happened to the Divine Beasts, the enormous semi-sentient machines that def can't be dismantled like that???? Couldn't SOMEONE maybe mention that they idk. Went unresponsive when the shrines retracted so they hid them away until they are needed again. OR, why does only half the NPCs remember Link, instead of either everyone forgetting or everyone remembering him and avoiding this weird distance created by half-assing it? Basically, I totally understand why people don't like it because I also dislike it, it's not game-breaking but why not just go all the way.
This was a long-winded way to say that while I absolutely agree that the speculation and theorizing is one of the most fun parts of both the games, it is also disheartening to be tripped up by the devs throwing their own lore in the trash, so I sort of get the complainers. I don't believe in the Big Timeline and will never complain about games not adhering to it, but I am pretty disappointed the devs didn't pay closer attention to keeping the lore clear between sequels at least, ESPECIALLY because it's so clear they were wonderfully pedant about other parts of it.
A joyous wedding...
masterlist!
gn!reader x dorm leaders
Overview: Cheers! Smile! Laugh! and Be joyful! 8 people are about to be wed! Wear your best clothes and don't forget to have a big smile for the bride and grooms invite you to their joyful occasion!
______________________________________________________________
Today marks a very joyous wedding
Bells can be heard echoing through-out the a church signifying someone is to be wed.
Colorful ribbons, flowers, and magic is all over the place decorating and making it seems like little stars filled the venue.
The venue is filled with people, fairies, and species of all kinds, friends, teachers and the closest people to the bride and grooms . Dressed in their finest suits and gowns suited to the theme of their wedding.
The procession will start any minute.
And it did.
7 groom dressed in beautifully fine white suits with their signature colors lining their sleeves, collars, suit, etc. And a single rose at their breast pockets.
With this hand
I will lift your sorrows
Your cup will never empty,
for I will be you wine
With this candle,
I will light your way I darkness.
With this ring
I ask you to be mine.
They stood Infront of the altar awaiting their bride.
And low and behold the heavy wooden doors open revealing the person they love the most. They wore a beautiful luxurious white gown/tuxedo, filled with glitter, beautiful embroideries, and such made by the one and only Divus Crewel.
Their faces were covered with a long white veil whilst their beautiful hands held onto a bouquet of roses the same color as each of those on the grooms roses.
On the bride's left is the great headmage of Night Raven College whilst on their right is Divus Crewel. Their arms linked onto each arm of the bride.
The three took synchronous steps onto the red carpet until they reached the altar.
Malleus Draconia took them from the two and led them to their side, as they all spoke their vows.
"Hey Deuce..." Ace says as he stood infront watching the bride and grooms.
"...Yeah?"
"Do...do you really think this is...you know the right thing to do..." Ace whispered as he stared sadly at the bride and grooms.
"..."
"Keep your mouth shut Ace...we have nothing to do about this...if those guys hear what you said things won't end well..." Jack answered.
"I...I wish 'that' didn't happened...then it wouldn't have ended like this..."Epel said as he did all he can so he won't cry.
"Don't cry Epel...this is supposed to be a happy occasion...keep it up." Jack said as he reassuringly patted Epel's back.
"Grim and Sebek, has been silent from the start...do you think they're ok...?" Deuce asked as he watches grim walk up to the front while he carries a small pillow with the rings of the bride and grooms.
"Grim's definitely not...just look at his face, it tells everything..." Epel answers.
"Sebek on the other hand...yeah he's definitely just like us..."Ace answers.
And all of them went quiet, gazing sadly at the procession and the grooms.
Riddle, Leona, Azul, Kalim, Vil, Idia, and Malleus took their rings and wore it and finally they face their bride.
Gently removing the veil, they smiled softly as they all took their turns to kiss their hand. Idia gently holds their hand and carefully slips the ring onto their finger.
Then they all took turns kissing their bride on their beautiful red lips.
The crowd erupted in cheers as petals were thrown and magical lights shoot around making it seem like there were stars inside the shrine.
They all smiled, cheered, celebrated, cried tears of joy...
yet they all knew...deep down. This is something that should not be celebrated.
This wedding...should be something else...it shouldn't no it's definitely shouldn't have been a wedding...but if 'that' incident didn't just happened...then maybe it should have been a 'real' wedding.
A true celebration...
True happiness...
...truly a happily ever after for all 8 members of the newlywed.
Their touch should have been warm, the same goes for their lips and their eyes should have lit with fire and excitement.
They wouldn't have to cover their face with heavy makeup and painted their lips a bright shade of red...
They wouldn't have to assist the bride, in person and through magic...
yet they did...
For the bride...is gone. Dead...
Their touch was as cold as ice, their lips face and lips a shade of blue, body so thin and light that it could be blown with a single breeze.
If only 'that' didn't happen...they would have been truly happy.
They wouldn't have to be so depressed that they would use magic to preserve their cold limp body and wed themselves to it...
They couldn't accept it...no they never could.
"Ah...mc why don't you open your beautiful eyes?" Riddle asks with a wide smile.
"Tch...such a beautiful day, and your missing so so much herbivore." Leona said.
"Ah hold on their makeup is kinda smudged, excuse me mc...let me fix it for a sec." Vil said as he asked Rook for his makeup kit and started retouching their makeup.
"You truly are so beautiful mc-san! This is why I no- we could never stop loving you~!"Kalim said as he latched himself onto their lap.
"Kalim, Be careful! You'll wrinkle up their beautiful outfit." Azul scolded as Kalim only laughed in return.
"...Mc-shi..." Idia said. "don't worry once we get home I'll make a new body for you, something that won't rot away....you'll be fine, ok?" he whispered.
"Now now everyone, it is time for the reception, isn't it? Shall we go celebrate with everyone on this happy day..." Malleus said as he carefully slid his arms on their bride carrying them princess-style as they walked to the reception hall.
clack clack clack
this funeral...or may I say their wedding is truly a sad sight to behold...
....Happily (N)ever after....
Chapter (Japanese)
(Please hit the green thumbs up at the end of the chapter to show support)
Rough translation by me
P1
Asako: A-anyways! If you're ever in trouble, I'll help you out, okay!! If there's anything I can do!!
(sfx: stomp)
Asako: Bye!!
...
Hikaru: Sorry I'm late.
P2
Yoshiki: ...Sounds like Asako has lost some of her hearing in her right ear
Hikaru: ...That's...
Hikaru: ...probably because I touched her a little
Hikaru: People, well...they break if I mess with them a little bit. And then after that, they start to hallucinate and die of their own accord
Hikaru: But Asako is mentally strong, so she didn't break, but...
Hikaru: Instead, the effects may have showed up in her ear...that's my guess
P3
Yoshiki: That's something that you did to her though
Hikaru: ...I do think that it's good that it was only her ear
Yoshiki: *sighs*...how cold of you.
Yoshiki: Let's go to the library
Hikaru: Yeah
Yoshiki: (Shouldn't keep hiding it forever...I guess)
P4
(sign: Cultural Center/Library)
Hikaru: That's a lot of books!
Yoshiki: We're looking for a map, an old one
Yoshiki: Ah, here's one...this map is early Meiji, from the later half of the 19th century
P5
Hikaru: Kibougayama... isn't anywhere on here
Yoshiki: No wait, here's Mount Tenban, and if this is the shrine, that means this is...
Hikaru: Sute...? Huh...?
Yoshiki: No, you're supposed to read it right-to-left
Yoshiki: ...Darumasute*?
(* - 達磨 (daruma) - a Daruma doll (wiki); 捨 (sute) - to throw away)
P6
Hikaru: "Darumasute"? What kind of name is that? Was Kibougayama actually named that all along?
Yoshiki: ...Let's line it up with the other maps. We have ones of Kubitachi and the other surrounding areas too right?
Yoshiki: Darumasute - there's a long and narrow region that extends downwards near the bottom. There isn't a place like that now.
Yoshiki: Udekari and Ashidori - these aren't any different from today
Yoshiki: Udeiri - this village has already been abandoned
Yoshiki: Kubitachi - the kanji for it is different from what it is now*
(* "tachi" - present day 立 (to stand/rise); originally 断 (to cut off/sever))
(Names and approximate meanings so far):
Darumasute - 達磨捨 - to throw away a daruma
Udekari - 腕刈 - to cut off the arms
Ashidori - 足取 - to take the legs
Udeiri - 腕入 - to contain the arms
Kubitachi - 首断 - to sever the head)
P7
Yoshiki: Is this... the shape of a person?
Hikaru: Huh!?
Yoshiki: The names of the places even correspond to the body parts...The arm is where Udekari is...The head is where Kubitachi is...Then the "daruma" refers to...the torso?
Hikaru: What the hell!? That's so creepy!!
??: Um, excuse me...
P8
Librarian: Your voices are a little too loud...
Yoshiki: Ah! Um...
Hikaru: Sorry 'bout that
Librarian: No worries...
Librarian: ...Is this a school project or something?
Yoshiki: U-Um... We're Kibougayama High students from Kubitachi...and we were looking up our local area...o-or something like t-that...
P9
Hikaru: Pfft.. (He gets like this whenever someone scolds him even a little)
Librarian: Oh my... I'm also from Kubitachi.
Hikaru: Huh, how about that!
Yoshiki: Oh, really? ... Then maybe we might have met you before when we were little...ma'am
Librarian: Oh, no, you wouldn't have...I've been away for 20 years and only went back after my mother's recent death...
Hikaru: ("recent death"...Ah!)
Hikaru: Are you by any chance...Matsuura-san's daughter?
Twitter extra (link):
Yoshiki takes being scolded badly
It seems that it's more shocking to him since he's usually well-behaved...
Yoshiki: Ah! Um!
'Hikaru' (Hikaru) is fine with it
Hikaru: Sorry!
By the way, I've updated the place names in the previous chapter to match the correct readings.
There was also a typo to one of the lines in it that was officially corrected after the original translation was posted, so if you saw the original post and haven't gone back, you might want to double check, thanks.
Childe/f!Reader 2,598 Words - SFW Bamboozled into marriage, awkwardness, fluff, future smut
---
“You’ve been around Childe again, haven’t you?”
Paimon, paragon of astuteness and observation, clocks the ease that settles over your shoulders for the following days after your discussion with Childe. Coming to an agreement feels like a significant weight has been removed from your shoulders.
Yes, everything is progressing as planned, but knowing that you’re going into this with clear intentions is a whole lot easier than it had been only a few days before. And there’s something to be said about how his agreement to go a little slower ignites something inside of you to take things faster.
It’s as easy as verifying with Zhongli that he’s able to officiate it - as Zhongli, not Rex Lapis - and then hunting down your husband-to-be with the news that you’ll be getting married that afternoon. Surely it wouldn’t be ideal for Childe, he’s likely working his Very Honorable and Very Respectable job, but it’s obvious that he’d drop everything if it meant he’d be getting what he’s repeatedly said he’s been wanting for a while now.
Since the moment you met, running from Millelith when he’d so-heroically come to your rescue, it seems. If you knew back then that things would end up this way, would you have humored Childe at all? Though his charm and personality had lulled you into complacency back then, knowing what you know now and how you’d ended up…
You think the answer is yes.
Miko would be rather upset if you just went off and had someone else do it, Geo Archon or not. Surely Childe wouldn’t mind a bit of a trip to get this whole business done - he’s waited long enough. And how many other people could claim their wedding was officiated by Guuji Yae of the Grand Narukami Shrine, anyway?
“Hello!? Are you even listening to Paimon?”
Snapping back to the reality of Liyue Harbor and unable to really lie during her inquisition, you give Paimon a sheepish smile that speaks far more than your words ever could. Yet you provide them anyway in an attempt to soften the blow. “We had a talk and cleared some things up. Everything is fine now, Paimon.”
“You’re still wearing the ring.”
“Yeah, I am.”
And the discussion falls flat there. Because it’s obvious you’d come to a decision to go through with it, and there’s very little Paimon can do to persuade you otherwise. What point is there trying to dissuade you, when you’ve already tuned her presence out in favor of looking down at your hand flat on the table, ring glittering on your finger attractively?
Very little, it seems.
“Anyway,” Paimon urges, fluttering about your head in a shower of constellations, effectively grabbing your attention from both her erratic movements and the crumbs of Lotus Flower Crisp fluttering on top of your head, “Paimon heard from Keqing that the blockage at the Chasm will be cleared up soon! A few more days, tops! Then we can get a move on and see if we can get more information about your twin from the Dendro Archon.”
That should be good news. It should bring excitement to your heart, since you’ve been stagnant for so long after that entire situation in Inazuma that resulted in very little information. But that stagnancy was the perfect environment to cultivate this odd arrangement with Childe, and now you’ll need to just leave.
Swallowing around the sip of tea you’d just taken, you answer with a little less gusto, “That’s wonderful. I’m sure if anyone knows something, it’ll be the God of Wisdom.”
“You’d think! But Zhongli has been alive for so long and still won’t tell us anything!”
Another gripe for another day, you think as the next round of food comes and Paimon’s attention is attracted to Jueyun Chili Chicken instead of your fractured family life and confusing love life. A blessing in the disguise of spicy peppers and roasted poultry.
Liyue Harbor is prettier at night time, you think.
Its golden hues give way to rich, warm shades of red and brown as the sun goes down and the lanterns strung in front of stores and across the roads and walkways are lit by the public. The ocean looms dark in the background, only a smattering of light reflected on the calm waves from the moon above.
Somewhere behind you, just off the living area, Paimon snores away in the bedroom. If she were any bigger, it would be a nightmare trying to climb into bed, but it’s easy enough to shift her around to make some space, and she tends not to wake up in the middle of it.
But your thoughts are a little too restless for sleep, and the tea you drank had a bit more caffeine than you’re used to. With your elbows on the window’s edge and your chin propped on your crossed arms, you loosened your grip on your thoughts and let them run free.
It’s little wonder about what topic they settled on. The ring is warm against your finger.
The light of the hanging lanterns grows fuzzy and formless as you squint your eyes, finding amusement in the way it all bleeds together if you stop looking so hard. Sometimes the details don’t matter when it’s just as pretty when less-defined.
Just like your relationship with the man standing below your window, hands in his pockets and watching you quietly. Childe positively glows in the night of Liyue, his copper hair turning to a blaze of fire with such complementary colors. For just a moment, he watches you allow your thoughts to wander, completely oblivious to his presence.
A little impatiently, only because Childe is pleased to have gotten to see you, he calls your name gently as if he weren’t looking to startle you. Visibly your thoughts grind to a halt, and your eyes flick down to look at him on the street below. It’s not very far; you’re only two stories off the ground floor.
Like a siren song, his voice floats up from below, “You know, every country in Teyvat has its own version of the same old folktale. Do you know it? It’s about a princess with hair long enough for her prince to climb it to the highest room of the tallest tower she’s locked away in. Then he rescues her, they get married, and live happily ever after.”
Tilting your head so it’s your cheek on your arms instead of your chin, your pensive expression turns a bit dreamy as you ask, “Do you think you’re my prince, then? My hair isn’t nearly long enough for you to climb your way up here.”
Rocking on his heels, his eyes dart from your face to the side of the inn. His intentions are clear, but you have no time to stop him before he takes a running start and grabs on to one of the low-hanging eaves, pulling himself toward that first overhang. Then, a hop to reach the next one that wraps around the building with narrow terracotta tiles.
Childe slips into the room with little fanfare, and you turn to follow his trajectory as he lands on his feet and lets out a little breath - as if that were enough to exert him in the slightest. It’s darker in here, the glow of his hair is dimmed, and his eyes seem fathomless and dark as he turns to look at you. The upturn of his lips brightens his expression considerably, from ominous to pleasing in the blink of an eye.
“Now, I suppose I should rescue you next. Once we’re out of here, we can return to my kingdom and be married. Then we’ll get started on that happily ever after.”
“One chapter of the story at a time, Prince Charming.” Your tone is filled with faux irritation; both of you understand it’s nothing but a farce. Though, perhaps you understand it a little better, considering the thoughts that have been running rampant through your head for days now.
You expect him to take a seat on the sofa, or even just lean against the wall. But with a huff of breath, he settles onto the window seat next to you and mirrors your position - arms crossed on the ledge, chin resting upon them. Once more, the glow of Liyue Harbor graces his features, and that ethereal beauty comes back.
Perhaps you’ve been thinking about him a little too much.
Childe’s lower lip juts out, blowing  the single strand of his long bangs up for a brief second before they fall back down. A fruitless endeavor, one that he doesn’t attempt again as he breaks the silence. “So, for this next chapter, what comes next? Is this where the Prince confesses his love? Or should we settle for True Love’s First Kiss?”
“Is that a Snezhnayan thing, or something?” You ask, trying so very hard not to watch him from the corner of your eye. You fail, and he knows it, but for once he has the grace not to pounce on an opportunity. Once more, you’re stirred by the thought of him simply remembering your request to take things slow. He’s not perfect, but… he’s trying.
Archons, you like that a little too much.
A smile curves at his lips when he hears your little comment. “I’m pretty sure Mondstadt’s version mentions something similar. Tonia has me send books home all the time, and I have to give them a quick read to make sure they’re appropriate.”
Because of course, he’s responsible like that. Checking the contents of books so they aren’t too much for his little sister. Your fingers tap on the outside wall of the inn, just beneath the window, and his eyes move to the fidgeting movement as you double-back on the conversation. “I think I know the next chapter.”
“Oh? Should I ask for spoilers, or enjoy things as they come?”
“Spoilers might be necessary on this one.” You stop your tapping, instead pressing your nails into the wood. Not enough to damage it, but the pressure is nice to ground yourself as you go ahead and lay everything on the table. “Good stories always have a bit of hardship, don’t they? This next chapter, your princess needs to move on to Sumeru for a time.”
“Ah.”
Childe’s response is… hard to read. For a long, long time, he says nothing at all, and neither do you. You’re not the only writer of this fairy tale, and it’s his turn to come up with the next step of this dramatic little chapter that has fallen into your lap. In reality, the solution is simple, and twofold.
Either you get married before you leave Liyue - likely within the next few days. It’d have to be a shotgun wedding, with none of the promises you made to Yae Miko about fluttering off to Inazuma for a wedding ordained by the Guuji herself. It would cut out a lot of the fluff, and while at one point you would’ve been just fine with that, recent events and your own traitorous thoughts have brought that preference to a bitter end.
With that option off the table, it leaves only…
“We’ll have to have a bit of trial before the wedding. Some strife in a story makes the payoff all the more sweet, and I’d like to savor ours, if you don’t mind.”
A complete swap from how adamant he’d been you don’t dally too long on a decision at the beginning. But these sorts of things are a two way street, and by making your own journey down it, perhaps he isn’t as skittish. You can only surmise he thought you were going to find a way to back out of it before, and that’s the reason for his wish for swiftness.
But now you’re willing, now you’re beginning to want this, and Teyvat has thrown a rather annoying wrench in your plans. With Sumeru comes distance and time, that’s a given. But with the way your search for the Archons has gone recently, Sumeru will likely bring the Fatui.
Which puts you at odds with Childe yet again, even if he necessarily won’t be there. Your presence will be enough of an inconvenience that this entire matter might not survive if he receives orders to take you out once and for all.
Would he accept them, you wonder?
“I might not be here when you’re finished with your business in Sumeru. Occasionally I have to leave for… business.”
“I know.”
“I’d like to ask you to wait for me here, but… that’s not fair. I’m not stupid enough to think that sitting at this window and sighing longingly out at the harbor while waiting for my ship to come in is your only goal. You need to find your sibling, and there are steps you have to take to do that. I’m not one of those steps.”
Shifting a little, you turn to him and regard his expression as he looks out in the direction you’d been distracted with for most of the evening. He looks rather forlorn, despite his acceptance of the situation. Clearing your throat, you attempt to ease his ache, at least a little. “Maybe not a step, but… a handrail? If I stumble, maybe you can be there to help keep me steady.”
Childe’s chin lifts off his arms and he scrutinizes you for a beat. The suspicion melts away, and in its place is the slow crawl of a smile that’s infectious, your lips wobbling as you try not to return it with too much enthusiasm.
With the amber light, the too-full feeling in your chest, the warmth coming through the open window, everything seems to slow to a crawl. Your thoughts, your breaths, your heartbeat. Childe unfolds one arm from the window’s ledge reaching his hand out to glide along your jaw, fingertips pressing into the soft skin just beneath your ear.
It would be so easy to just lean forward and fall into him. To kiss him and end all this odd tiptoeing around where you’re unsure of where you stand. His position has been made clear; Childe said so himself that he loves you. But distance makes the heart grow fonder, and certain feelings clearer.
So, you double down. Not only will that distance come from Sumeru, but also the way your spine locks to keep you from falling into a trap of your own making by kissing him as deeply as he’ll let you.
“I’ll wear your ring while I’m gone.”
“And what about me? Is there a souvenir I can keep close to soothe the aching of my bleeding heart?” On anyone else, it would be sarcastic. And maybe it still is when it comes from him, just a little bit. Except his fingers glide down your neck and his eyes follow their movement with a quiet sort of wonder, and you’re not quite sure he’s telling a lie.
Swallowing thickly, a motion he traces with his thumb once it passes, you play along with a weak smile. “I’ll see what I can find for you to treasure.”
Childe’s mouth opens, a bit too quickly, but whatever he’s about to say dies as he snaps his mouth shut and thinks better of it. If his past requests were to be extrapolated upon, you have a strong feeling of what little keepsake he’d ask of you - one you’re not quite sure you’re ready for, yet.
Or, perhaps you are, and you’re just frightened.
Is there a fan theory you’ve seen for Aurora or any other story that you really enjoy, regardless of whether or not it is/ was correct?
Ophelia was pregnant and/or Gertrude killed her
In Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Wasp's powers aren't just from Pym Particle technology - she's also secretly a mutant. There's subtle textual support for this if you look, it's just never brought up
Batman Beyond is specifically the alternate future that happens if Damian Wayne is never born. Disproven in the comics and as far as I know this is just my personal theory, but I like that it allows for the Beyond future without dooming Main Canon Bruce to a lonely and depressing old age sans batfam
Han Solo is slightly force-sensitive which is why he's so lucky and such a good shot, but he has no idea and would be very frustrated to learn that he's been subconsciously cheating
Rey is descended from Obi-Wan, probably through Satine (obviously not canon but I was solidly in this camp and maintain it would've been better than what they went with)
The Arkenstone is a Silmaril which is part of why everyone gets so weird about it
Everyone specifically calls the One Ring "precious" because it's a tiny fragment of sauron's soul and his original name meant something like "precious" or "beloved" and everyone it gets near subconsciously picks up on that residual vibe without knowing why or even realizing it's happening (I don't remember the details on this one but it was very cool)
Zion is just another layer of The Matrix
The hidden SOS signals in the BotW Divine Beast themes correspond to when each champion first called for help during the Calamity, and correspondingly, since Vah Medoh's SOS starts the latest of the four, we can deduce that Revali waited the longest to send out his distress call because he was too proud to admit he was outmatched. Bonus theory, the bullet-time feature is actually Link's special champion ability (like Mipha's healing, Revali's gale, etc) and thus exists diegetically in-story rather than just being a game mechanic
My personal BotW theory that'll be proven or disproven whenever BotW 2 comes out: the Triforce of Courage is notably absent from this incarnation of Link - because it's currently being used by that spooky green ghost arm to seal mummy-Ganon, and that ghost arm definitely belongs to a previous Link. This sealing is why Ganon's previously-ubiquitous mortal form is now only known in legend and he's just been farting out metaphysical calamities every few thousand years - some past Link used his part of the Triforce to lock Ganon down and stall the cycle of reincarnation. Bonus points if sealed-Ganon also has the triforce of power and they're just locked in a stalemate until BotW 2 begins and the spooky arm merges with Link. I have a lot of thoughts about this game and I NEED IT
my other BotW theory is that every time Link dies it's not a timeline-breaking game over - the local Koroks just lug him back to the shrine of resurrection and pop him back in for a few minutes to juice him up. the less silly version of this theory is just that the sheikah slate automatically warps him back to the shrine of resurrection when he goes down and then warps him back later, but I think it's funnier if a bunch of koroks crowdsurf him up the Great Plateau
Day 71: Shark Combat, Zora's Domain Healed, Link Sleepy
We unlock the fourth and final water pump for the Water Temple mid-morning.
Tumblr media
It's been great weather the last few days, absolutely gorgeous skies. The last time I spent this long in Zora's Domain, it was perpetually raining. It's nice to see their beautiful architecture in the light.
We head back up to the central panel. Time to see what's under all that sludge.
It's just… a little guy?? But - oh. It has a shark.
Tumblr media
We engage.
After a hard battle, the creature explodes into Gloom.
Tumblr media
The last of the sludge dissolves. The waterfall runs clear. We did it.
Tumblr media
Now, for Sidon to receive his birthright.
We approach the secret stone suspended at the altar of the temple.
A vision. Sidon's ancestor in that dream space, the Sage of Water.
Tumblr media
She shows us her perspective of the Imprisoning War. And she shows us her conversation with Zelda afterwards. My Zelda. Warm, determined, golden hair glowing in the sunlight. This is my Princess.
Tumblr media
Sidon accepts his birthright, and I welcome his avatar by my side with honour.
Tumblr media
We head back to the domain - Yona will be worried.
King Dorephan is healed, the sludge disappearing from his wounds as it vanishes from the waterfalls of the domain. All is well once again in Zora's Domain.
And yet, things still change. Dorephan grants the crown to Sidon. He has proved many times worthy of it. He announces the domain's support against the Demon King and his marriage to Yona in the same breath - he never did do anything slowly!
Tumblr media
After the announcement, we discuss what we know. He agrees that it was not truly Zelda who attacked Dorephan, and he agrees that we need to know more.
I wonder if Tulin or Yunobo have found out anything? It's been over a month since I left Goron City. And almost two since I left Rito Village. I should do some base-touching once I've said my goodbyes in the domain.
Muzu is headed to Lookout Landing - I'm sure I'll see him there. Khira and Chroma are now Queen's Attendants, and have been tasked with finding my Zora's helm - which is in a sky fish? Could it be the same sky fish which held the puzzle of the droplet before? I should find it, if only to stop Khira from bullying Chroma about it.
Tottika mentions a cave with a glowing rock - a shrine? It's southwest of here, in Ralis Pond Cave. I'll make a note.
Impa is here! She wants to know if I've seen the geoglyph in the Gerudo Highlands that looks like a person - I have not. I should go there next, anyway. Gerudo Town and Lurelin are on Purah's list of places in trouble, and I haven't been to either yet.
Yona is working with Jiahto to also find the Zora greaves - they think they might be at the waterworks. I suppose I can visit again.
Cleff ate a bright-eyed crab whole, and is obsessed with them now. He wants ten, but I only have three. Maybe one day.
Fronk's wife Mei went to a floating place for fish, somewhere across the East Bridge. Is this the same wife who once jaunted all the way to the Rutala River? I'm sure she'll be fine, but I'll keep an eye out.
Now, to get to that sky fish island, I should go… actually, no. I'm exhausted, and the sun has set.
I need to sleep. I head to the inn, but Kodah wants to tell me a story he and Finley found in an ancient manuscript. It sounds like there's a shrine at Tarm Point, southwest of here. That's nice. Finney and Sasan are already checking it out, so I'll leave it to them for now. Now… sleep.
🧊 🔥 ⚡️ DRAGON ORIGIN THEORIES BOTW/TOTK ⚡️🔥🧊
⚠️ SPOILERS FOR TEARS OF THE KINGDOM ⚠️
Gonna talk about Dragon Tears and their associated memories, along with the final boss, you have been warned!
So, everyone’s seen that cutscene where Zelda eats a secret stone and becomes a dragon. This is the ONLY confirmed way that someone can turn into a dragon/how dragons are created in the BOTW/TOTK universe.
Tumblr media
So does that mean that Farosh, Dinraal, and Naydra were all human/hyrulian race at some point?
This is the only canon way for someone to become a dragon, or for dragons to be created. So that means at some point in time, 3 people consumed a secret stone, therefore becoming dragons. These dragons are Farosh (Lightning), Dinraal (Fire), and Naydra (Ice).
Transformation Theories
General
As of the time of this post, none of the dragons have been spotted in Rauru’s time, also known as the origin of Hyrule. The most recent spottings have occured in the BOTW game, and at the latest appearance chronologically, was before Link awoke in the Shrine Of Resurrection, 100 years after The Great Calamity. Now, there’s always the chance that the dragons were in hiding during the events of The Great Calamity, along with The Imprisoning War, but for the sake of clarity, im just gonna say that they weren’t around for Hyrule’s founding by Rauru and Sonia.
According to the Hyrule Compendium articles for each of the dragons, they are said to have existed since ancient times. Since there’s a likely chance that these dragons didn’t exist during Hyrule’s founding, the most likely time that they first were created was 10,000 years ago, during The First Calamity, in which the Zonai incarnation of Link (Link with the ancient heroes aspect) and the Zelda from 10,000 years ago, fought off Calamity Ganon with the Divine Beasts and 4 Champions for the first time. That is the most likely era where the dragons were first created.
🧊 Naydra 🧊
Tumblr media
I think out of all of the dragons, Naydra would have been the first to become a dragon. Out of all of the 3 core dragons (Going to exclude the Light Dragon and Demon Dragon, since they either became dragons recently, or returned to human form), Naydra has the most emphasis and screen time, to the point where they even had their own side quest to purify them in BOTW, since Ganon himself deemed them as a threat and corrupted them with Malice.
Naydra mainly circles around the Lanayru and Necluda regions of Hyrule, even full on circling Hateno village in TOTK. Im going to assume that they were a Hylian, like Zelda, and perhaps circle their own hometown (Hateno) to watch over and protect it from Malice and evils after their encounter with Ganon in BOTW. Considering the ammount of effort Ganon went through to seal/impair them, Its likely that Naydra was a sage or priest towards Hylia, likely being a person of importance and immense power.
My idea as to why they swallowed a secret stone revolves around the sage idea. Perhaps during/after the events of the Great Calamity, fearing the return of Calamity Ganon, swallowed a secret stone in order to help the heroes in the future against Ganon, or maybe to just watch over their home. Some other ideas is that they were at the brink of death, injured during the calamity, or simply at old age, and wanted to keep fighting. Either way, they were likely a religious figure of great importance who wished the watch over their hometown.
🔥 Dinraal 🔥
Tumblr media
Dinraal resides in Eldin and Akkala (along with a bit of Hebra in BOTW), and mostly hangs around Death Mountain in TOTK. I think Dinraal would have been the second dragon to transform into one. While they definitely don’t have as much focus as Naydra, there is an associated side quest involving the leviathan ruins that leads you towards their location.
Obviousl, Dinraal would have been a Goron, hanging around Eldin and Death Mountain, and mostly fire-related areas, except for traveling around Hebra during BOTW. Considering that Ganon himself ignored both Dinraal and Farosh, it’s likely that these two dragons weren’t sages or priests, but there is a likely chance that Dinraal was a sort of protector of Eldin, perhaps even being the Goron Champion during The First Calamity.
The reason as to why Dinraal became a dragon has to do with my theory of them being a protector of Eldin. In order to watch over their home, they swallowed a secret stone and became a dragon, fully devoted to watching over their home. But, as they were a protector of Goron City, it is likely they couldn’t travel far during their days before dragonization, which in turn results in them venturing towards Akkala and Hebra during BOTW, doing the exploring they never could.
⚡️ Farosh ⚡️
Tumblr media
Farosh, of course, is the youngest dragon out of the 3. Compared to the other two dragons, Farosh is relatively ignored gameplay wise, with my only discovery of them being when they emerged from Lake Hylia during their route. Compared to the other two dragons as well, Farosh has the most diverse path across both games, from 3 seperate spawns in Lake Hylia, The Spring Of Courage, and the Gerudo Highlands, and later in TOTK circling around the lower Gerudo Desert, leads me to belive that they are the youngest of the 3.
Considering Farosh’s path, it is likely that they were either a Gerudo or Luerlin Village Hylian, hanging around the Faron and Gerudo regions mostly. However, considering Naydra’s Hylian background, along with Farosh’s lightning element, I am more inclined to trust the Gerudo bloodline more. Their inconsistent path, along with being relatively ignored story-wise, leads me to believe that Farosh wasn’t a well known figure during their life before before being a dragon.
Leading on from the fact that Farosh wasn’t well known, there is a high chance that they consumed a secret stone to become well known. Perhaps they wished for the attention and praise they never received, and thus became a dragon in order to compensate for the lack there of. Even if this theory isn’t true, there is a high chance that Farosh consumed their secret stone in an impulsive move, maybe to defend it from the Yiga Clan (If the Gerudo Bloodline is considered fact), or in a bid for praise and recognition.
Feel free to share your own ideas on this theory, along with your interpretations of how the dragons came to be!
Still Here
Tumblr media
Pairing: Kantou!Manjiro "Mikey" Sano x f!reader
Summary: he'll never let himself make another stupid decision again, especially when y/n was the loyalist and most precious of them all and he just abandoned her. It explains all the incidents that occur around him...
Warnings: contains chapter 236 onwards spoilers, possessive themes, suggestive themes, angst, fluff, swearing
Authors Note: I need more Kantou Mikey stuff. This is a lowkey mess but I was just blurting the narrative I keep thinking about😭 kinda short
Request: @airbendertendou encouraged this I got you bb
_________________________________________
There was a lot to unpack about Mikey. There was a lot to hate, yet a lot to like but finding the middleground was the blurry part. It took the strongest minds and thickest skin to even just follow him, let alone talk to him. In other words, deep down, his Kantou Manji Gang were frightened of him, and that fear is what kept them around. Fear kept Toman away, maybe. Or maybe they distanced because that was their ex-presidents wishes and the loyalty formed never crumbled like presumed. Who knows, Generation One Tokyo Manji was no more and never spoken about again.
Generation Two was led by Takemichi, and that alone was brave yet deeply respected by Mikey, though he'd never admit it. But there he was, standing on a storage crate, at some random train tracks, watching the Crybaby Hero endure more physical pain then he could ever imagine. His hands balled into fists in his pockets, seeing this second generation just made his chest tighten painfully. Did they laugh like back then? Did they ride around at night like back then? Were they safer without him now? His dark eyes tracked various men fall to the dirt, Kantou and Toman, he didn't care. Besides, she'd take out any remaining bastards. That's right, he still had her. And just as the chess pieces moved to give Toman the upper hand, a blur of his gang's infamous white trench coat flashed past him. She had arrived just in time, like always, just as his memory of reuniting with her rolled in his head like an old film.
______
It's funny, really. Manjiro never thought he'd see y/n again after what he'd done. He was certain she'd leave like everyone else did. But no, he abandoned her, at the Musashi Shrine when he finally disbanded Tokyo Manji. The flashbacks of her face sinking and eyes watering - trying so desperately to not cry - daunted him, reminding him that he just couldn’t do anything right. Feeling her warm body slack into his chest, arms tightly wrapped into a strong, loving embrace and whispering a mantra of apologies and how it was for her safety. And he was gone by the morning. The first time he woke up one morning alone felt surreal. Rolling over onto his side to a cold, empty mattress was heart wrenching. The silence of his room deafening. He missed watching her clean up his clothes, hearing her hum a song and most of all, feeling her hands brush over his face while she cooed him awake. Everything was just dingy and cold. It was the first time the painful loneliness hit him harshly throughout his body, but convinced himself it was for the better.
However, not for long. He just couldn't let the one person who fully understood him fade away like that. He'd spend too many nights laying awake in self-pity, exhausting himself in reasons why he was the fool. Until news about a series of massacres occurred around Shibuya and Kantou, the link between them being enemies of Mikey's. Seemed like those who spoke shit didn't live until the morning. Originally he assumed it was just an rumour, but as the days went on, it continued for a year. Whoever was behind it was certainly passionate.
Mikey couldn't recall his thought process to why he was stood at her door at this unholy hour. But he wasn't complaining as for the first time he wasn't doubting himself, or hurting his own feelings. It wasn't her childhood home, it was a decent apartment. Raising his chilled hand to knock, he paused. What if her partner answered, what would he say? 'Hey I'm her ex who left her almost crying'? All he knew that it was the final time he'd ever probably see her, fully expecting to one sore arse in the morning from being kicked up it. She was fiesty like that, and he loved that part of her. Exhaling heavily, he knocked quickly, cold air dispersing around his face - he should've worn his coat. The slower the door opened, the more nervous he felt about who was opening it. Relief flushed through him upon seeing her face staring back at him with wide eyes, she hadn't changed at all.
With eyes softening and lips curing into a warm smile, she spoke quietly, "You found me!" Her giggle rang loudly through his ears, feeling his heard pound through his ribs and into his throat. She was happy? To see him? No yelling? "Come in, Jiro, it's late." Jiro. After all this time, she still called him Jiro. Without a word, he nodded, following her into the kitchen, slipping his boots off in the entrance way. Life felt normal again in that moment, she was humming while he stood brainlessly against a counter, watching her stir tea. Almost normal.
"Ugh, Jiro, what did I tell you? At least wear a hoodie when it's cold?" She was normal. She still felt the same. She was scolding him like old times just as he loved.
"I don't understand," his voice was low, gravelly to be specific, head hung in shame, "Why are you so happy after what I did? Aren't you upset?"
Y/n stopped stirring, the spoon clinking against the marble counter, "No. I'm more than relieved to see you. I missed you after all. I mean, it did hurt knowing I wasn't to come find you." She was right, she didn't come after him, like he said. "But I did help the best I could from afar. You have a lot of enemies, Jiro. They were a pain in the arse, but you're safe now."
"I should've known it was you. Still the loyalist of them all." Shock wasn't the word to describe the electricity surging through his body, but whatever it was brought tears welling in the corners of his eyes. Y/n was there with him from childhood, tutoring him, patching him up, scolding him for dumb decisions, supporting him through quite literally everything (including loss); she always put him first. She had almost completely unpacked his personality over the years, which is why when disbanding Toman slipped out his mouth, she wasn't surprised. She knew Mikey cared about Toman, and if saying goodbye ensured their safety, then so be it. That was him putting Tokyo Manji first. And she loved him for it, she loved everything about him, including his violent times and that proved to Mikey that she really was his pillar of sanity. "I-I'm so sorry for leaving you when all you've done is look out for me. I...I thought I'd lost you!" Mikey lunged towards her smaller body, knocking the air out of both of them as they collided. His tightly wrapped themselves around her neck, burning his face into her shoulder while her hands gripped the back of his t-shirt. Their clothes soon soaked with warm tears and muffled sobs before pulling away hesitantly. Y/n pressed her palms to his cheeks, pulling him down until their lips met for a messy kiss, feeling the world disappear around them when the warmth of tongues swirled with starvation. Mikey's hands slid down to her hips, roughly drawing her closer to his to make up for the time he spent in a cold isolation.
Pulling back for air with a string of saliva, for the first time in too long, Mikey smiled weakly, pressing his forehead to hers, "Y/n, baby...please...please help me take over Kantou, we'll do it together. I need you."
"Absolutely, Kantou will be ours. I won't let anyone hurt you, Jiro." Y/n snaked her hands into his, a nostalgic devilish grin on her lips.
Manjiro's hands cupped her jaw, "You're all mine, okay? Nobody's gonna touch you, nobody's gonna take you away from me. It's us against the world. You'll always be by my side. I love you so much."
"Forever and always, we do this together now. Don't go disappearing on me, I love you. I love you, I love you, I love you so fucking much, Manjiro."
"Say my name again, baby. I want only you to use that name. Say it again." He hissed, pressing her back into the counter, arms caging her between his body and propping his knee between her legs.
"Man~ji~ro," She whispered, capturing his lips into another heated kiss. He'd be waiting for this moment. The moment to have her back in his arms to take care of her in ways no one else could. Most importantly, he had his pillar back by his side to lead another strong gang, that's all his life meant. Y/n and delinquency; that's all they ever wanted together. But for now, he was carrying his lover to her bedroom just as he'd missed.
The Cowboy’s Ice Princess ⛸ | Rhett Abbott Headcanon
Link to my Rhett Abbott Masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Takes place in the year 2021 (I know OR came out in 2022, but they more than likely filmed last year so im using that as the timeline). Also content warnings: light mentions of sporting injuries and misogyny/sexism by the press.
Rhett falling love with a Olympic figure skater would look like:
It all began when Rhett was asked by Cecelia to take Amy to her ice skating lessons. First off, the man didn’t even know his niece was enrolled in them. second, where the hell was he supposed to take her? After gaining the information —which was that Amy’s classmate had their birthday party at the ice rink in the city where she immediately fell in love with skating and begged for lessons—Rhett was giving the address and the two were on their way. “We’re gonna be really early, uncle Rhett,” she said when she saw the time, deep down it excited her-knowing that before her lessons were the training hours of a famous skater. Rhett, unaware of what the girl was thinking replied, “well, there ain’t no harm in showin’ up early. Better get you started now.”
When they arrived at the rink they were really early. Like Amy still nearly an hour till her lessons started. Only a few cars were in the parking lot so Rhett suggested they wait in the car until it got closer to the time, but Amy was like “no! Let’s go in! I don’t mind waiting inside.” “Well alright….” Walking toward the facility, Rhett missed how beneath the name of the building it said, “home of Olympic Champion, Y/n L/n.” Inside the lady at the counter smiled at Amy saying, “you’re early today Amy. The ice won’t be ready until they finish up down there, but i can get you your skates and you two can head on over to the bleachers.” Picking up her skates, since Amy didn’t have her own personal ones to bring, she carried them past the concession booth and locker room entrance to the stairs leading to the bleachers where music could be heard through the speakers.
As soon as the rink was visible, blue eyes landed on the figure gliding across the ice like she was a ballerina doing a solo on a the stage. Even from a distance Rhett noticed her beauty, which was only accentuate as she danced across the ice. She was dressed in a black turtleneck and leggings, white skates in her feet and hair slicked back into a tight bun. Rhett was pretty much frozen, captivated by the lone skater who was in her own element, unaware there were onlookers besides her coach who was off to the side. Each spin, each jump, each glide and Rhett felt like he was in a trance—until Any pulled him out by hissing under her breath, “stop being creepy and sit down, uncle Rhett.” When he did Rhett noticed a look of awe in Amy as she watched the skater, leaning in to whisper, “this why you didn’t mind waitin’ in her’ when you still got plenty of time?”
With a grin and not taking her eyes off the skater, Amy began to rant to her uncle, “That’s Y/n L/n—one of the best figure skaters in the world. Some weeks ago some of the girls I do lessons with told me ‘bout her after I asked about the little shrine dedicated to her when you first walk in. You didn’t see it but it’s on the other end of the counter if we would’ve turned right instead of goin’ straight,” Amy paused to watch the woman, Y/n, complete a triple axel, one of the most difficult jumps in the sport. “Anyways, Ruby told me Y/n’s trained at this rink since she was five years old and is one of few people from this city to make it big in the world. She’s competed on the international level since 2010–and went to the Olympics!! Three times!! She’s trainin’ for the 2022 Games in China happenen’ next year. Her trainin’ is right ‘fore my lessons but gramma always brings right on time so I never get to see her unlike some of the other girls. I heard people on tv call her the ‘Ice Princess’ —not ‘cause she’s a great skater, but ‘cause she’s rude to reporters—but some of the girls say she’s very nice and welcomin’ when they’ve gotten a chance to talk to her before class.”
Impressed and captivated by you, Rhett does a google search and finds your career stats. Whistling under his breath, Rhett reads that since your debut at the 2009 U.S Figure Skating Championships at the age of 14, you’ve gone on to become—in your discipline of the women’s singles— a six-time National champion, a four-time World champion, and are currently the reigning Olympic champion of the 2018 Winter Olympics. Rhett also reads you have three World silver medals, are the 2014 Olympic silver medalist & the 2010 Olympic bronze medalist as well as part of the 2014 & 2018 U.S Olympic bronze medal teams. Bringing a total of five Olympic medals in three appearances. Rhett even came across a YouTube compilation titled, ‘Y/n L/n being the Ice Princess & snapping back at reporters for 4 minutes straight.’ Curious, Rhett watches it and all he saw was you acting how anyone would when asked about their weight, diet, personal struggles, and that they were getting old in a sport known for young girls.
What made Rhett’s eyes gouge from his head was when your information read that you were actually from Wabang. “No fucking way,” he muttered just as the music ended. Lifting his head he saw you exhale and skate in the direction of your coach. He couldn’t hear what was being said but soon you were back in the middle of the ice doing spins so fast it made him dizzy. You continued practicing elements of your routine for the remainder of your training. When it came time for you to exit the ice, feeling bold, Amy jumped up and raced to the entrance of the ice to meet you there with Rhett calling out to her. The sound caught your attention, where you smiled at the sight of a little girl beaming up at you with awe in her eyes, “well hello.”
Introducing herself, Amy politely asked for a picture which you happily agreed to just as Rhett approached with an apologetic expression. Immediately you thought he was handsome and looked away when you connected eyes. Gosh they were the most gorgeous shade of blue you’d ever seen. “I’m so sorry, ma’am. We didn’t mean to bother you, Ms. L/n.” You brushed it off saying it was not a problem and you were enjoying Amy’s company, hoping Rhett couldn’t pick up on the fact you found him extremely attractive. Since Rhett had the phone, he quickly snapped some photos of you two before he and Amy thanked you for your time. Amy’s lessons were about to start so you wished good luck and to have fun before heading to the locker room to freshen up and change since you weren’t gonna be back in the rink till later that night.
Rhett could not stop thinking about you after that. Whenever Amy had lessons Rhett would offer to take her, making his mother confused, and, coincidently, would arrive 20-30 minutes before her lessons just to watch you train. Sometimes her friends in the classes were also there, so it worked out cause then they weren’t the only two being lowkey creeps. Finding it amusing—especially when Rhett tried to make it look like he wasn’t completely captivated by you—you’d wave to them and say hello when passing by on your way out. Rhett would tip his hat, giving you a smile that nearly knocked your skates off.
Amy had lessons every Saturday & Sunday afternoon so after a month of admiring each other from a distance, you made the first move by approaching him after changing into your hoodie and jeans, “This seat taken?” “Not at all. Please, be my guest.” You two talked the entire duration of Amy’s lesson. After finding out they were also from Wabang, and Rhett mentioning he read you were from there, you explained to him, “Yeah my ma worked as a nurse here in the city and would bring me everyday while she worked almost a twelve-hour shift. I basically grew up in the rink. My pops was a ranch hand ‘til he hurt his back and homeschooled me so I could skate. I moved closer to here when I turned eighteen—but my folks still live in Wabang and I visit every week.” Rhett then talked about his family’s ranch and bull riding and soon Amy’s lesson ended. While she was getting changed you and Rhett exchanged numbers after the cowboy asked if you wanted to get coffee the next time you were in town.
The feelings between you two bloomed over several weeks of texting, phone calls, and going on dates whenever you were in Wabang or having Rhett travel to the city. One of your dates actually was bringing him onto the ice after the days lessons were done and nobody wad there. That memory would go down as the funniest night of your lives with Rhett losing his balance, bringing you both onto the ice several times because you two were holding hands. “C’mon, cowboy, give me one lap without falling and I may just give you a kiss when the night ends.” Oh you bet your ass he did everything in his power to not fall on that one lap. When it was a success he immediately asked for his payment, and so your first kiss happened right there in the middle of the rink. From that moment on you were his and he was yours
When you came to the ranch Rhett would teach you to rope and ride a horse. His mother nearly had a heart attack when you met for the first time, obviously knowing who you were because she’d seen the shrine dedicated to you and your accomplishments at the rink. She couldn’t believe her son actually was in a relationship with you. Amy was over the moon and happy for her uncle. Royal and Perry were actually impressed but lowkey made bets on how long it would take for Rhett to fuck it up.
Rhett was head over heels for you and made the promise to never let you down. You were his woman and he became your biggest supporter. Even when Amy didn’t have lessons Rhett would come to the rink in his free time to bring you food or sit in on your practice. He saved up money just to travel and watch you compete, spent time on learning the different moves and jumps, and how the scoring works. You’d made it known to him that the upcoming Beijing Games were to be your last if you made the team so Rhett became your personal cheerleader to motivate you to do your best. “Baby, you’re gonna make that team—no doubt ‘bout it. Just keep doin’ what’re doin’ and that gold medal will be yours again. And I’m gonna be cheerin’ you on every step of the way.”
You made Rhett feel things he never thought he would feel. You inspired him, motivated him, was not only his partner but his best friend. With you he never felt like a disappointment. You made him laugh, held him when he cried after a bad day, encouraged him to follow his dreams. Rhett loved you so much he couldn’t picture a life without you. Even when he would rant about how you deserved better than him, you stayed by his side, kissing him breathless to show you were just as crazy about him as he was of you. “I don’t ever wanna hear those words again, Rhett Abbott. I don’t just open heart to anyone. You are the most amazing man I’ve ever met, and I love you so much and I’m going to make sure you know that everyday. You’re my cowboy, Rhett Abbott.”
You would attend his rodeos, cheering in the stands which has some of the locals shocked to see you there. Although you no longer lived in Wabang many of the residents knew who you were. Whenever the Olympics came around your picture was on the front page of the newspaper, detailing your accomplishments. Many couldn’t believe one of then had made it to the worlds greatest sporting stage and was recognized as one of the best athletes in their sport. They also couldn’t believe the notorious Rhett Abbott had managed to pull you—confirmed by the dropping of jaws when Rhett swooped you off your feet to kiss you when he finished his ride. He’d been up front with you about his reputation, but you assured him you’d never judge him by his past and as long as he continues to be the man he was to you then you were in for the long haul. “C’mon, cowboy, let’s show ‘em you’re better than what they perceive ya.” With his Stetson on your head, you had to hold back smirking at the disappointed looks from buckle bunnies.
Being a professional athlete working to defend an Olympic title was challenging. There were days you didn’t hit your routine as sharp or fell on a jump. About three month before the trials you lightly sprained your ankle when you landed wrong on your triple axel, putting you off the rink for two weeks for it to heal. During that period your stress and anxiety was high, worried that you were falling off your game and would miss your chance at winning a second gold. 2018 was the best year of your life, winning your first Olympic gold in your third Games. Since then the commentators have put a lot of pressure on you and have go so far as to call you the ‘Ice Princess,’ due to your stone cold attitude at the press when they’ve asked offensive questions you’ve called them out on instead of giving a sugar coated answer to remain polite. Only the media seemed to be your enemy because friends, teammates and even competitors had praised you for standing up to the press.
On those days that were hard Rhett would take you out on a nice date before settling down for the night by cuddling on the coach with the fire going and have a movie on the tv. Rhett would hold you in his arms, running his hands through your hair and murmur words of encouragement. “I know you had a rough day, baby. But just ‘member that each rough day is a sign to do better the next. Tomorrow is a new day. You just gotta rest tonight and put your mind at ease, so let’s talk about anythin’ ‘sides the ice.”
When the trials came for the 2022 Winter Olympic team, you were the #1 overall skater for your discipline securing your spot on the team. You were in tears, hugging your coach as Rhett, his family, and your family cheered in the stands. He even had to wipe his face, overcome with emotion and met you when it concluded with a bouquet of flowers and a passionate kiss. “I’m so proud of you, darlin’. So so proud,” he said in between kisses, “you were incredible—I knew you could do it.” Unfortunately Rhett wouldn’t be joining you in Beijing due to the COVID restrictions set in place, but he promised to be up every morning to watch you skate. It was a tearful goodbye at the airport with Rhett telling you how much he loved you and would miss for the next two and a half weeks, and after several kisses and promises to call everyday he finally let you go so you could get through customs.
Rhett and his family sat down to watch the opening ceremonies of the Games where you led Team USA as their selected flag bearer. You looked so adorable in your outfit that Rhett couldn’t help but take a picture if his tv when the camera panned to you. Not much of a social media person, he did however post it on his story with the caption, “That’s my Ice Princess♥️⛸.” The nickname you once hated ended up being your favorite whenever Rhett called you it. Only he could make you flustered when it rolled off his tongue. He was your cowboy, you were his Ice Princess.
Making through with his promise, Rhett got up at the ass crack of Dawn the days you were set to go on the ice. Qualifications, team finals, short program, free skate, he was on his couch watching it live. When it came back you were the #3 overall qualifier, Rhett was over the moon. Then he and Amy cheered together when the USA claimed the silver metal in the team. He watched you with beaming eyes on the screen medal yourself and hold it up with pride.
On the day of your free skate, the final segment of the women’s signals skate finals, Rhett held his breath and was on the edge of his seat when you stepped on the ice. The last to perform, becoming a two-time Olympic champion would be down to the four minutes ahead if you. All through the routine he felt that familiar skip in his heart like the first time he saw you. You glided across the ice with ease, like a ballerina on stage. Each twirl, each jump was perfection and you hit every single element, finishing the routine with a grin on your face. You knew right then, as did the small crowd of local spectators and members of team USA as well as Rhett and y’all’s families back home. They were already celebrating with Rhett having tears in his eyes the moment your name came up with the overall total next to the #1 spot.
Rhett never thought he’d find love—especially with someone as amazing as you. You were the definition of perfection, the most dedicated, inspiring, beautiful person he’d ever met and everyday he thanked whoever above to allow him the honor of being your cowboy. When the gold medal was placed around your neck, and you announced the closing of a chapter with retiring from the sport of figure skating, Rhett couldn’t wait to be a part of the next chapter. But no matter what you did on or off the rink, you would always be his Ice Princess.
Can you rank the heroes?
Tumblr media
...this seems dangerous. There's a lot of Heroes, how is he supposed to rank them? Based on what? "I'm not exactly comfortable ranking the Heroes of Hyrule. So let's try a different aspect."
"The Hero of the Sky," legend? "Hylia's chosen Hero, the story that is painted in the textbooks, speaks of one of absolutely dedication and bravery. All the heroes have courage, though the way in which that ability presents itself is different for each of them. The Hero of the Sky wasn't handed a destiny like everyone else, he chased his path because he wanted to save someone important to him. He faced his future with courage that presented itself as the will to go further than anyone else. To not back down even when he's told he's not doing enough."
"The Hero of Twilight," what an odd title, "had to face obsticals that no one has ever been presented with before. He had to fix the mistakes that the Sages and his ancestor created. He had to experience physical and painful changes to his body that leave irriversable marks on them. They had to find the courage to become not only the Hero of Hyrule but an entirely seperate person and creature at the same time. Arguably, they went through the most changes of any Hero and they managed to overcome it and use it as a strength."
"The Hero of the Wild," a ridiculous title, "there is arguably nothing braver than failing and getting back up to face that failure. The Hero of the Wild was defeated, he fell and died--more or less." It is called the Shrine of Ressurection. It implies he died. "Not only did he fail and die though, but he found the courage to get back up and save the world not just once, but twice. With everything that was done to him, with the suffering, the anguish, the failure, and the loss of a limb. Courage and bravery don't always walk hand in hand, you can have courage and be absolutely terrified at the same time. I'm sure many of the Heroes would agree with me. But the Hero of the Wild I believe is the best example of both. Of overcoming one's faults."
Tumblr media
"Link," the Hero of Time, "was a child." The perhaps most wellknown fact. "He was maybe, barely, ten or eleven when we dragged him into everything that was going on. A child who can't even consent to medical care let alone make the choice to run around battling monsters in the name of a Princess he probably didn't even know existed. Everyone seems to believe his journey started after he drew the Master Sword, but that's far from the truth. Even before he drew that sword, he had to run around collecting the tools to unlock the Sacred Realm. He had to watch the Deku Tree die and be blamed for it." he wonders, sometimes, if the Kokiri blamed and hated him for it. If he knew that.
A shaky breath is taken in.
"The Hero of the Wild spent his entire journey alone, that is horrible and sad, and arguably worse than the others. Sky had Fi, Twilight had the Princess of Twilight, and Link had Navi and--myself. However, I believe there is nothing more lonely than having people around you and being unable to reach out for them. Constantly, the Hero clearly wanted, needed, whatever comfort wanted help and I just shoved him away." It's hard to say which one of them was the lonliest. He thinks, in a way, all of them were just alone.
"Link was used by everyone around him. The Deku Tree, the Princess, The Goddesses... myself. Everyone took advantage of him and he selflessly continued to help the world because he didn't want to see anyone else get hurt. Because he was asked to. Because I manipulated and pushed him. And then, even after his journey, he ran off somewhere that treated him even worse and he still found the courage, bravery, selflessness to help people."
Tumblr media
"All of them deserved better."
So I found your post on ToTK insightful, but one thing I didn’t see you cover is how according to the narrative, when Zelda went back 10,000 years she went to her distant relatives. It was still her kingdom, just very early. What do you think of how this ties in to the themes you were talking about?
Sure thing! Hope I can address this well.
For those not in the know, this is the post we're discussing--the Orientalism of the Mummy in Dehydrated Ganon.
I also want to qualify this with two things:
I'm not Native. I'm a Black person speaking as someone who also has a heritage closely related to colonial violence and white supremacy, but not someone who can speak for Native people. I can only go by what more experienced people have said and books and readings from them.
I'm using the word "Native" which itself encompasses several different people. I don't use this to imply they are the same or interchangeable with the cultural practices and ideas the Zelda franchise is drawing from.
To your question, I feel it doesn't really change much thematically because neither Zelda nor any of the Hylians in the present day have any cultural features, practices, or attitudes that codify her as a Native person except as a costume or set of resources and knowledge associated with her.
It's not portrayed as if it's her heritage she's been disconnected with, but is effectively portrayed as a white person being introduced to an entirely new culture in how exoticized it is.
With the Zonai, their coded status comes in the form of their way of dressing, the Geoglyphs being Nazca lines, the designs of the shrines, the Zonaite outfit Link has, etc. It also narratively shows up in how it's framed as "archaic" in-game as referenced by the naming of the armor related to the Zonai versus the white rule the land has in the present day and how they're portrayed and characterized around extinction.
It's almost point for point the exact narratives and ideas about Native people colonizers use in real life. Native people imagined as a people who no longer exist but still had worthwhile resources better suited in civilized (white) hands.
A big part of why the myth of Native extinction gets pushed so hard in real life (and in turn is repeated and propagandized in media about Native or Native-coded characters) is because it reframes how we talk about recompense for them.
If you imagine a world and buy into the repeat narrative of Native people all being extinct, there's nobody left to do right by. It helps shape the conversations around policies and decisions by people in power.
Things like environmental justice, land back initiatives, reparations, healthcare access, and many other things Native people advocate for are pushed aside by erasing the people fighting for it. It's a form of colonial erasure meant to justify inaction.
So while Zelda technically is a descendant of the Zonai, the story doesn't really do anything with that to challenge the way it's recreating a colonial narrative about Native people. We've historically seen her as a pure white woman, one whose purity is contrasted with the toxicity and dangerous wickedness of Ganon.
The few times we do get characters with features or a heritage that deviate from eurocentrism (ex. Nabooru, Urbosa, Demise, Princess Hilda, Tetra, Midna, Ganon, Sonia, Telma, etc.) they're either the villain, sympathetic only in how they directly align and submit to Hyrule's power as one of the "good ones" or they're just murdered or erased from the story entirely.
The Gerudo are out looking for boyfriends, but we overwhelmingly see this in relation to white men in-game despite there being numerous dark-skinned Zelda characters in their partners and even in who is spying on them or trying to sneak into Gerudo town as a bunch of creeps.
Zelda as a franchise is very dedicated to positioning whiteness as inherently superior and more desirable.
The (white) Hylians have a god-given right to control and rule, and all of the non-white races of people are better off for it. While Zelda is technically a descendant of a Zonai, we still see her effectively as an innocent and almost holy white woman.
The franchise operates on the idea that some people are born with magic abilities and are essentially destined to rule over others and that any challenge to that superiority is inherently evil. The characters who ever challenge that are either villains or are antagonized and cut down for it.
"Hey, Zelda." Link gave the dragon a watery smile, sitting down and patting the fur next to him. "It's been a while, sorry. Penn needed my help with a story."
He blew a strand of hair away from his face, wrapping the wings of his glide suit around him as protection from the wind. "It's stupid that I'm doing this again, isn't it? I spent a year putting off fighting the Calamity, and now I'm just wasting time exploring the Depths and Hyrule again. I found Mineru three months ago, for Hylia's sake." He gave a weak laugh. "Although I don't think Josha would call it a waste. You'd like her."
"I know what you'd tell me– 'The Demon King dealt a great blow against you, Link.'" His voice shifted, mimicking her accent. "'Taking time to recover is not a waste, and if you throw yourself injured into a fight again I'll drag you back by the ear!'"
Zelda let out a low rumble.
"Yeah, yeah, I know you hate it when I do that." He sighed. "But I am nearly healed. Almost all of the gloom's effects are gone, my arm nearly always feels like it's mine." He cleared his throat. "Anyway, have I told you how the others are doing?
"Sidon and Yona are doing pretty well– the official wedding is coming up soon. Sidon's really growing into being king. Yunobo and the kids are doing good too, last I saw, but I haven't been over there in a while."
He rubbed the sages' rings with his thumb. "Tulin's been training pretty hard; I think Teba is getting worried. He reminds me a lot of Revali, actually, with that. I still don't remember much, but I do know that he was always training. Probably just to show me up, but still.
"Riju…" He picked at his nails. "I understand why she gave me access, but I miss being Link, Hylian vai, and not Link, hero of Hyrule and the princess's guard. I don't think most of them have connected the dots, but even if I do find my vai clothes again, it won't be the same. Now that they've seen me as a voe, they'd figure it out right away.
"Is it… weird, that I liked being a girl?" He closed his eyes, leaning back against Zelda's mane. "It was… nice. I don't know how to explain it, but… I wouldn't have minded living in Gerudo Town. Being 'little Hylian vai' for more than just a few trips.
"What do you think Riju would've said if I told her that? Would she have allowed it?" He laughed bitterly. "I'm only telling you this because you can't understand me. Pretty messed up, right?
"I asked Mineru about draconification, if she had found a way to reverse it after all these years. She just looked at me. Probably would've talked me out of coming up here, if she knew. Seems like that type of person."
He sighed. "No more royal line, huh? I think Hyrule will be okay, though. They survived for one hundred years with the Calamity still hanging around, I'm sure they can find a new leader, especially with the groundwork you laid."
He smoothed a hand over her fur. "The kids in Hateno miss you. I haven't told anyone what's happened to you yet. Impa and Cado know, but only because I started crying when I saw your final memory, and they got– worried."
He ran his hands through his hair, dislodging the mask, and sighed. "Do you want to know something weird? I think I saw you before. Flying over Hateno, when the Calamity was still around. I thought it was just Naydra, but… it makes more sense if it was you. It was practically destiny for me to fail you again, huh?"
"Fuck. Fuck." He pressed the palms of his hands against his eyes. "I miss you. I miss seeing you wake up in a bed next to me, I miss hearing you and Purah talk about where the shrines went. I miss seeing you smile, hearing you laugh at my stupid jokes, watching you spend hours focused on your research."
Tears dripped from his hands, falling onto Zelda’s head, and she let out a low, mournful cry. A dam broke, and Link shuddered, resting his head in his arms as the tears poured out.
"I can't do this." He gasped. "I can't pretend everything is normal, when you're gone but you're right here and– and–"
His fists slammed down, but stopped before they could touch her head, instead gently smoothing out along her fur. "I hate this. I hate my arm, I hate how Tulin was forced to grow up, I hate how much Hyrule has changed, I hate how you had to give your life just to fix the sword I broke."
His voice broke. "You're always cleaning up my messes. You held back the Calamity, and now you did this. I should just– just go and find him, before all of this is in vain. Ha, who cares if I'm not ready? As long as that bastard goes down with me, I don't care. We all know I should've just stayed dead."
Zelda growled, long and low.
He wiped his eyes. "Probably just tired of me being up here, aren't you. It's not very comfortable, is it? It's not because you can understand me, I know you can't. Mineru made it very clear that even a moment of lucidity would be impossible.
"But… I'm still coming up here. Still talking to you, like as soon as I beat him everything is going to go back to being normal and fine, even– even though it's not. Even though you'll still be up here, forever. Just a dragon. Never Zelda again."
More tears replaced the ones he had wiped away. "It should have been me, stuck like this. I've always just been a failure, and I saw how strong you were, how your abilities started to grow. If I had– if I had just died fighting against the Calamity like I was supposed to, maybe then you wouldn't even have gone down there and he wouldn't have woken up!"
He sniffled. "Goddesses, what am I supposed to tell people? 'Sorry, Zelda turned into a dragon thousands of years in the past, and no, sorry, only like ten people in the entirety of Hyrule can see her, and yeah, sorry, it's all my fault again.' That's going to go over well."
Zelda growled again, tossing her head.
"I'm sorry. I'll go now." He ran a hand over her mane, smoothing out a few windblown tangles. "...I'll visit you again before I go fight him. Say goodbye. I don't think I'll be coming back from that, and even if you can't understand me, you deserve to know."
He stood up, wiping his face one more time and securing the mask over his eyes, and leapt into the sky.
A low cry echoed from the sky above him, and Link's eyes burned.
