The Cursed Seed and the Fertilizing Flame Summary:

After Belphegor accepted a strange seed from Solomon, it grew around Belphie- trapping him in branches while he slept. Lucifer or Asmo can remove the branches and free Belphie; he falls, and Beel catches him. After rescuing Belphie, Lucifer picks up the seed that started it all and heads for the library. There MC meets up with Satan, who seems to recognize the seed. However, before he explains anything, Mammon interrupts- wanting to sell it. But he leaves just as quickly as he entered after Lucifer says he’s keeping it. They head to Crocytus Hall in search of Solomon and- once found, he explains that it's a modified Hell Blood Blossom seed.

Usually, they feed off the blood of demons, but this one feeds off of dreams. After their short talk with Solomon- MC and Lucifer return to the House of Lamentation, where Levi begins to explain a theory. He believes that the Hello Blood Blossom is in love with Belphie because of the folk tale that Cherry Blossom Trees in the human world feast off of the blood of humans they like that are buried under their roots. After Levi freaks out about the seed, Solomon shows up at the House of Lamentation and offers a solution to their problem- a Fire Festival is being held in the Devildom, and everyone is invited to throw in unwanted items and burn them. Lucifer agrees it’s a good idea and heads to the castle to ask Diavolo for permission- which goes well. After they return, Lucifer tells his brothers and the MC to gather up anything in their rooms they wish to burn- then basically demands that we see him in his room later on.

After joining Lucifer in his room, we discover the reason he wanted us there was to help him go through his cursed objects collection. He explains that he’d rather get rid of dangerous items from his collection than see another person he cares about be affected by one or something similar. While we’re having that touching moment with him, Asmo enters the room and declares that he has something for the two of them. Asmo offered his older brother a talisman to take the curses off his collection- so he could just burn the paper instead of the objects themselves. Lucifer was very grateful and got to work removing the curses while Asmo and MC went to clean the hallway. Next, everyone was at the festival admiring the broad flames- Simeon and Luke had joined them on their trip as well.

Prowlbee with them and the team learning what ADHD is. And it's some human that finally diagnoses Bee with it. Knowing how Cybertron is, they likely don't have proper neurodivergant care if at all

Bee and Sari thought of a fun idea for an activity to pass their time since the tv was broken- quizzes.

It started innocent with quizzes about how much do you know about a certain game, then it went to magic and spirit animals- that's when Prowl decided to join in. And so now all 3 of them were sitting on the couch with their techpads/phones answering quizzes about personality types and similar.

Bee was the first to break the enlonged silence. "Hey uh- Sari? What is ADHD? I just got that on the quizz." Sari looked up from her phone and looked at Bee's datapad- he had a different quiz than her, maybe because he was keen on finishing his the fastest and finding some other ones for them to try.

"Uh i think it's when your brain can't focus on one thing for long. It's like, you can't sit still and you wanna do so much stuff but also can't - and you have those vivid ideas when doing certain stuff,.. at least from what I heard." Sari explained, she wasn't a medic and didn't have it diagnosed herself so obviously she didn't know much.

That however was enough to get Ratchet's attention, the old medic was fixing said tv not far away from the group. He listened to the whole conversations and walked over to Bee. "Show me that techpad."

"Uh- sure?" Bee didn't know whether to be confused or concerned.

"So what's up? Does Bee have ADHD?" Sari asked as Ratched read the article that popped up along with the quiz result.

"Obviously no, that's not a thing on Cybertron!" Bee was so confident, there was nothing wrong with him at all- "No, you do."

Bee only blinked when Ratchet anwered. "What."

"On Cybertron, certain personality traits and glitches are most often not taken as anything more than said personality traits and glitches. Many disorders are not registered in Cybertron's health database. From the medical archives on Earth I can see humans came to a conclusion of the importance of them needed to be catalogued." Ratchet explained calmly before he handed back Bee the techpad. "Your behavior is one big stamp confirming this, you have ADHD."

Bee just stared off to some wall. Huh, so that's why he's like this?

He didn't get to ponder in awkward silence for too long before Prowl spoke up, he was doing his own quiz while listening to what just happened here.

"Hey Sari-" He looked up from his own techpad with an undeadable expression. "What does "autistic" mean?"

So yeh, those two learned something new. And neither of them have any idea how to deal with it. XD

I had this idea for a while now, so glad i could finally write it.

I think Ratchet would prescribe him some calming meds for it that Bee of course forgets to take often. He only remembers they exist in his drawer when he's all over the place and it's miserable to do anything.

Prowl- idk what about Prowl, Prowl is just Prowl. There ain't much trouble with him.

Cyberchase Character Discussion (for your local Cyberchase trivia quiz) - #3: Jackie

Here we go again. I've made this style of post about Inez and Matt, and now it's Jackie's turn.

#3: Jackie

Let's start with her bio from "Meet the Cybersquad". Again, this almost 25 years old now, so who knows how much of it is still canon.

So, we get our introduction to Jackie. She's smart, funny, has a plan, and is over-the-top. Yeah, that's accurate so far.

For some reason, this page was not in her original bio when they released it in 2001. They went back and added this page later in 2002. This is the only bio that I have seen that had content added like this. This page lets us know that her favorite color is yellow, and she loves tofu burgers. I don't know if the show has confirmed that she is a vegetarian or vegan. She is shown to care about animals, so I wouldn't be surprised if she was canonically a vegetarian.

Her favorite book is one that I hadn't heard about until now: "Walk Two Moons" by Sharon Creech. In this story, the 13 year old protagonist, Salamanca (Sal) Hiddle, goes on a cross-country road-trip to visit her mother. There are themes of coming to term with loss and building new relationships. It makes me wonder if, at some point in development, the show-runners might have been interested in giving Jackie a tragic loss similar loss to Sal. I haven't seen the later seasons where they bring in the kid's families, but I don't believe they have gone that route so far.

For her favorite music, we get two bands: Destiny's Child and NSYNC. These are very much a product of the time. Destiny's Child actually disbanded in 2006, as the members went off to do solo work. NSYNC disbanded in 2002, and then reunited in 2023. Well, we know that Jackie loves her R&B and Pop music, so I'm sure she found other bands to follow since then.

Her favorite movie is Shrek, which only came out in 2001. Matt and Inez have definitely sent her all the memes that have come out about that movie since then. Her pet peeves are bugs and anything messy. Yeah, that still tracks. She has a "Wheaton Terrier" named Brandy. I don't know if the spelling has changed over the years, or if they just made a spelling mistake in her bio, but I have only seen it spelled as "Wheaten".

Jackie also gets a bio from Nelvana, which is pretty cool. I've only been able to find surviving archives of bios for her and Matt. They have sections for Inez, Dr. Marbles, Motherboard, The Hacker, Buzz, and Delete. However, all of those are left empty in the surviving archives of the pages. I don't know if bios were completed for those other characters.

We get emphasis on the point of Jackie being organized. We also get more insight into how she solves problems. She uses diagrams, charts, and graphs among other things. She also touched on her tendency to use initials as shorthand for things. I remember the Blue Bunny Place (B.B.P) from "Of All The Luck". Was she hip in 2002? Is she still hip now? I'm not qualified to say.

We also get an introduction to Jackie through the official prequel web comic, "How It All Started: Episode 3". We see Jackie making her own skirt out of strips of fabric. I assume it is for cheer-leading.

Narration: Meanwhile, on Earth, three kids who don't know each other are about to have the adventure of their lives.

Jackie: I gotta organize this stuff

Narration: meet Jackie, who has her own sense of style...

Here's Jackie's Official Cyberchase Trading Card.

When they picked her favorite line as "Make room! I gotta pace!", they probably picked her most iconic line. She loves video games, piano, and foreign languages, which is great. We do get to see her play an unnamed videogame during Season 1 Episode 25 "A Battle of Equals". The hero "San Man" is trying to save the environment by stopping the villains that are trying to pollute it. One villain is called Johnny Grime. There are number riddles, and they are the same sort of riddles that the kids solve during the episode.

I don't think we ever see her playing piano or speaking a second language on the show. Quick question: What are those shoes that she wears? Inez has a pair or blue boots. Matt has a pair of red and white sneakers. Jackie's shoes are a little harder to place. They are purple, and they have considerable heels. Were these meant to be high-tops? I don't know that I've seen high-tops with heels in that size before.

The big thing that people remember Jackie for are her dramatic outbursts. And her most iconic one is probably from Season 3 Episode 4 "A Piece of the Action". You can tell that someone in the animation department had fun with this one.

Jackie: Great! Now we'll never get into Hacker's control center. And if we can't get in there we can't stop Hacker. And if we can't stop Hacker, he'll erase Motherboard's memory with the magnetite! Cyberspace is doomed! Doomed I tell you! Doo-hoo-hoo-hoomed!

Matt: And the award for best dramatic outburst of today goes to Jackie!

Jackie: Matt!

What else can I say about Jackie. Well, she has an amazing tolerance for cold weather. Even in Arctic Cybersites, she still made do with the same short skirt.

Anyway, here's the prototype for Jackie. She had a completely different hairstyle and outfit. She was also called Julie. Again, I consider her current design an upgrade from the prototype.

We get more discussion on Jackie being a gymnast and artist. She loves Instant Messaging. I guess that would have been AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) at the time.

Breaking the Fourth Wall – A gift fic in a special format

Fandom: Gravity Falls

Summary: Something sinister lurks for the girls and Pacifica, and Audrey steps up to face the threat.

Dedicated to @mercedesaria, for her love of a 90s-2000s sitcom.

Thanks to @bonpocalypse for giving an initial read and vetting through this story!

Notes: Audrey, who is more on the forefront here, makes her first appearance in Six and Seven, in which she bullied young Nilam until Great Grunkle Ford mediates the situation. Aria wrote a review saying how she was “very partial to that name”, given she writes a series featuring Audrey whom Jonathan (rather reluctantly) takes under his wing as a teacher-student. The two grow closer over time as the events unfold. Truthfully the name was taken from Pau’s next-gen comic which features a similar flashback of Cedric being bullied by a girl of the same name. Nevertheless, I decided to flesh out Audrey more, particularly in Episode IV: Death and the Maiden, and also in this gift fic.

For this work, I took a look over a few episodes of Boy Meets World, which is a sitcom Aria based her fanfiction series Autumn in Philadelphia from, and decided to write this story in a screenplay format. Canned laughter, recorded applause… those are something you can find from a 90s/2000s sitcom, while the sitcoms of the 50s were filmed before a live audience. Other inspirations also include DuckTales 2017 episode Quack Pack (although that's more of an 80s sitcom) and Wandavision.

I had an idea of the four friends doing a social studies project on the 90s/2000s and hence they reenacted a few scenes. The one they are reenacting at the beginning is from Boy Meets World Season 2 Episode 20 Pop Quiz, as the headmaster admonishes the two students for their appalling grades. Something unsettling happens, and it turns out to be a glitchy showman from Zoe’s video app that decides to take control of this show. I debated various ways on how to deal with him before deciding upon a game show. The scene featured at the end is transcribed right from Mercedes Aria’s Autumn in Philadelphia Trilogy – Squirrelly Funerals and Nutty Neighbors.

To Aria, you’re a dear friend, and I’d like to thank you for your incredible support and the valuable feedback you’ve provided on several of my writings. As of late, I had the opportunity to delve into your own stories, which are nothing short of extraordinary especially since I garner deeper insights from watching the show. I love how you integrate your OC into the canon – how Audrey becomes a mother figure for Shawn and is a close partner of Jonathan. It’s a pleasure to have you not only as a writing friend but also as someone whose work I admire wholeheartedly. I look forward to many more exchanges of creativity in the future.

I totally hear you - it's definitely a lot of work 😅

The reason I'm recording footage of the gameplay + main story of the original OM right now is because I want to save and archive as much content from the game as possible. With NB being released back in April, a lot of support for the original game has started to die off (no more main story chapters/continuation, no more Pop Quiz events because they just have the same events as NB, no more new cards because it's the same cards as NB, etc)

So if they end up permanently shutting down servers for the original game and it becomes no longer playable, I want to have as much content preserved as I possibly can 🥰

Yeah, I'm afraid that's how it's going to happen, that they're going to shut down the original and then we won't have access to any of that anymore! Recording it all is the smart thing to do for sure.

I recorded a few of my favorite Devilgrams, but that's all I managed to do even though I'm worried about that inevitability. There's just so much content, though if you only do the main story it might not be as bad! At least then you'll still have that part of it.

They should just update the game enough to keep it playable for us, but the chances of that happening seem slim lol. They really made it sound like the original would still be updated as usual, but then that turned out to be the opposite of what has happened.

Though I do wonder if they're considering somehow merging things? Like would they ever move the main story from the original into Nightbringer somehow? I have no idea if that's even possible, but it'd be preferable to them just making the whole thing inaccessible.

And it's ok! Unfortunately most of these books have never released outside Italy, though I've seen some pictures in polish and russian!

Types of books I've seen so far were...

Narrative, mostly side stories set in the main canon. From illustrated books to just plain text, there was quite a variety of choice depending on your age. After season 5, they're all illustrated storybooks. Quiz, sticker books, coloring books. The usual Winx Club "Guides" for kids for daily life, fashion, manners and such. They were mostly aimed at any kid who could read, so 6 years old onwards. The comics/magazines had a slightly higher target since the official Winx fanmail would talk about slightly more pre-teen topics and questions. Pixie Mag was the one for much younger elementary schoolers.
