September 19, 2023 (Toronto, Ontario) In response to the so called “Million Person March for Children” events planned by ultra-conservative forces on September 20, 2023, the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL), affiliated unions, along with labour councils, are joining with community organisations to plan province-wide events in solidarity and support of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Last week, Premier Ford and Education Minister Lecce made harmful and irresponsible comments, suggesting that public educators are trying to “indoctrinate” kids who decide to use different pronouns. Their divisive actions are fanning the flames of these same ultra-conservative forces that are attempting to manufacture false divisions between parents, educators, and students over issues of student privacy and gender expression.
The OFL, member organisations, and community allies have a proud history of supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and uniting against all forms of hate. Progressive organisations like the OFL are grounded in principles that oppose systemic oppression, foster community care, and celebrate love over hate. [...]

Canadian Anti-LGBTQ Protests
To all the Canadians out there in Tumblrland. I hear there are going to be a series of anti-LGBTQ protests across Canada sometime soon. I don't know what to make of this. I can't imagine that most Canadians hate like that. It seems that this is another case of those in the minority opinion making loads of noise. Is this another conservative campaign thing? What say you? I would like to know more.

worst fear nearly came true
I got fucking followed, at night, alone, with low battery, by someone who knew I'm trans. I was lucky I had enough battery to call my uncle who confronted the guy and caught him in a lie that proved he was watching me and knew I'm trans. best part is? he matches the description of a suspect of a shooting that happened earlier today, something I narrowly avoided witnessing. if I had have left the house a few mins earlier I would've seen it happen.

City of Valleys 61
Another June Steven Steven unlocked his front door. The light he had left on in the kitchen was burned out. It went on when he tried it. He must have forgotten to turn it before he left.  Church Street had been thick with fags and dykes and far too many couples. Still the crowd energy reassured him. He was no longer the one queer in the world. There were thousands of them out there who enjoyed…

Went to the Pride parade in London yesterday. Had an amazing time, there were literally thousands of queer people and allies all around me. I felt so safe, and accepted. One of my coworkers came with me to be a supportive buddy. And I got to educate him on the varying Flags and identities that were on display.
I got in a mock fight with somebody dressed in as a medieval spearman. I had complimented them on their look, (which included big fancy facial hair curlicues) and they stopped and, "Went wait wait I had planned to have the biggest hat here!" So I whipped mine off to compare sizes and their friend was like, "There's no contest, you're not even close!" My hat was bigger. Haha I win. They immediately went "Noooo.. I-I'll fight you!" So I whipped my hat off again to use as a shield and their friend goes, "No good! Shield too big!" Haha.
We saw furries, we saw Pupmen (boys?), we saw every flag on the list, we saw families covered in rainbows, we saw so many rainbows! We saw drag queens, we saw friends, we saw Family.
It was a really fun and awesome day and I'm so so grateful that I was able to experience that. Seeing the amount of families there just everybody chilling and having a good time and complimenting each other. There was literally no hate at all, no protesters showed up, it was all just about love. It was absolutely wonderful.

Statement from the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC): This Wednesday, September 20th, far-right, conservative and anti-trans groups are organizing protests against teaching 2SLGBTQIA+ content in schools. These protests are being organized under the hashtag #1MillionMarch4Children.
The protests also support recent legislation passed in Saskatchewan and New Brunswick which demand that teachers advise parents if their children request to be called by a different name or pronoun. While these groups claim to be in support of ‘parental rights’, the protests are actually anti-2SLGBTQIA+ hate rallies which aim to eliminate Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) curriculum and policies from Canadian schools
Politicians across Canada and the Conservative party in particular, continue to threaten the human rights of 2SLGBTQIA+ people by failing to support 2SLGBTQIA+ positive legislation. Sadly, these politicians are actively enabling these anti-2SLGBTQIA+ protests to occur in 80 locations across Canada, with large events planned in major cities. PSAC strongly condemns any and all bigotry and violence that threatens the fundamental human rights of 2SLGBTQIA+ people
September 20th will be a challenging and scary day for 2SLGBTQIA+ peoples and their communities. PSAC joins in solidarity with you. [...]

« Je te lève, brandi bien haut, pour que vous voyez bien, je suis franco-ontarien ! »
Just a pride drawing for Franco-Ontarian day!
September 25 is the anniversary of the raising of the Franco-Ontarian flag. The flag was raised for the first time on September 25, 1975.
The official day recognizes the contribution of the Franco-Ontarian community to the cultural, historical, social, economic and political life of the province.
