This is unrelated to Sherlock, but I am also obsessed with MCU Spider-Man and I have an ace headcanon to share:

Peter Parker is heteromantic asexual.

I don't have a deep canon compliant explanation. I just happen to be asexual and once I read a fanfic where Peter was ace, ace of hearts by ironfidus. Check it out if you want it's awesome. From the day I read that story, I decided to headcanon Peter as ace.

I plan to one day write a fanfic, which will basically be a complete rewrite of Far From Home in which Tony is alive, Mysterio doesn't attack Peter's class on their Europe trip and it can basically be a super fluffy and awkward slowburn romance between Peter and MJ.

The main conflict in the story is Peter's asexuality. He is terrified of asking MJ out, because he knows that one day he'll have to tell her he's asexual. While he knows she's an LGBTQ+ ally, he has no idea if that extends to asexual people, even though it of course should. Beyond MJ's reaction, he has no idea how anyone will react to him if he comes out. He's not even out to Ned, May, Tony, anyone.

But eventually, he gets the courage to ask her out. They go on their first date, where Peter blurts out that he's asexual. MJ doesn't leave. She supports him. She wants to be his girlfriend.

Then they live "happily ever after" I guess. I enjoy imagining that their relationship lasts a lifetime. Through going to different colleges, different careers, a few rough patches. But they always work things out. Eventually they get married, have a family (ace people can have children too), grow old together.

I feel like that would be fun to write and feel more rewarding than the way their relationship happened in the movie.

He also comes out to all of his found family and they all support him as well. He had every reason to be worried, but everything worked out in the end.

I have no idea if I'll ever write the story, but I've already come up with the perfect title. Of Hormonal Teenagers and Quacksons. Despite London not being one of the locations on the trip in the movie, I feel that it would be a missed opportunity to not make a quackson joke in the story. Peter should definitely pronounce croissants in Tom Holland's accent.
