Ka-Kacchan 😫💦 (Bakugouwu x reader SMUT 🤯)

I walked into the hero association with my long Blonde hair flowing in the wind. “SARAH!!” Deku called, walking over to me. “Baka-Deku, what do you wabt?” I asked, making a cute face. “I heard Kacchan wants youuuuu” he said raising his green puffy eyebrows. “Ka-Kacchan?? Why.. why would he ever want me?” I asked, batting my bright blue eyes in his directuon. “I do not know Sara-chan” he answered, blushing bright red. “I think… he might have a crush on you” I GASPED!! (author’s note: UwU OMGGG IT’S GETTING ~SPICYYYY~) I smiled sweetly at deku before hopping over to Bakugou, flipping my hair over m shoulder. “Ohio K-Kacchan, what do you want?” I said, trying to be tough. He glared at me pomeranian hair sticking up as I touched him. “NOTHING YOU BITCH!!” He yelled, shoving me. I started crying. “BAKA-KUGOU WHY DID YOU DO THAT????” I yelled. He lookd at me. “Idk you’re just ugly.” He said and walked away. I touched my frail wrist and realized it was broken. I went to the doctor’s and got it fixed, mad at Kacchan te whole way. I saw Kacchan after work and went to be mad at him. “WHY DID YOU DO THAT?????” I screamed activating my Ice Quirk. “You’RE JUST AN UGLY STUPID EXTRA!!” Ye glared at me, hands booming. “IF I’M SO UGLU WHY DO YOU LIKE MEEEE?????/?” I yelled in his face. He gasped and tears fell from his eyes. “BAKAaAaAaAAAA HOW DO U KNOW THAT?” He said. “I know because your always mean to me :(“ I pouted. He said “t-th-that’s not t-true BAKA-SARAAH.” I grinned menacingly with my fangs. “Of course it’s true Ba-kacchan” “Don’t call me that” he said, blushing. “Ba-kacchan” I said again, my own cheeks getting red against my pale skin. He grabbed my arm “let’s go to my house and see if you wan’t to call me that again Baka-Sarah-chan”. (author’s note: OMGGGGGGG SMUT COMING SOON!!! TANK U FOR READING THIS FAR!!! We arrived at his house and no-one was home, it was just me and Kacchan (author’s note: SPICYYYYYY whatr you gonna do bakacchan O///O). He threw me on his bed and took off his shirt (author’s note: MMM HIS STOMACH I’M DROOLING ;w;). He pushed me down and went to the bathroom, when he came out he had no pants too!! I was surprised by his cream stick poking through his underwear. “Take off ur clothes baka” he huffed face very red. I pouted. “Make me Ba-Kacchan”. He growled ferally nd ripped mt clothes off my body. I gasped, pale Skin getting goosebumps. “There I made you” he said rolling his eyes. I blushed very hard. “Now let me show u what happens when you call me Ba-kacchan >:(“ (autho’rs note: *w* OMGOMGOMGOMG IT’S HAPPENING GUYSSS!! YOUR AUTHOR-CHAN IS SOOOO EXCITED!!!). I CAN”T KILL OUR BABY!!!!!!!!!” (author’s note: OMGEEEE THEY’RE FIGHTING 🥺🥺🥺) Kacchan sobbed. “I DON’T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO PAY FOR A KID!!” “YOU DON’T NEED TO, I CAN!!!! I DOUN’T NEED YOU ANYWAYS!!!!” I screamed, crying too. He left the call and I cried harder. Idk what to do with a BABY. He came to my house. He crossed his arms madly. “We need to kill the baby.” “NO I CAN’T DO THAT!!” I screamed (author’s note: OoOoOoOoOh THEY’RE GOING THRU IT!!!!!). “Why not????????” He pouted. His hands sparked. “THAT’S MURDER BA-KACCHAN!!!” My long Silky hair whipped around as I yelled up at him. He tried to hit my stomach, but I dodged and Froze him in placee. “DON’T HIT ME BAKA-KUGOU!!!!!!!!” I screamed. “STOP TYRING TO MURDER O U R CHILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” He huffed. “I DON’T WANT A STUPID KID WITH A WHORE LIKE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!” I gasped loudly. “I’M NOT A WHORE YOU’RE JUST A JERK!!!!!” He burst out of the ice and kissed me. “I don’t want a crusty crotch goblin to ruin our relationship” “He won’t I promise” I said blushing Red and patting my tummy. He sighed loudly. “Ok fine we can keep the cum droplet I just don’t wanna pay” I smiled “OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” “So……. will you marry me?” I gasped suuuper loud “OF COURSE BAKUGOU!!!!! I LOVE U!!!”

Ray Andy Mei Akira Bobby David & Deku Jr have explosion-Ice quirks, but Maya (author’s note: Maya is my faaavoriteeee UvU) has A SUPER POWERFUL ICE QUIRK (just like her mama)!!!!!! We lived a very happy nice life after that and had a ton of money!!

A/N: sorry for the late upload for anyone following, I’ve been pretty lax on uploading on here bc of the low interaction with these posts (I think like 3 people read this, maybe lol). But I’m going to try and upload them here just in case.

“We need to talk. Now.”

“Yes. That’s why we’re on the phone.”

“We don’t have time for games today. You need to come to the base immediately.”

She’d recognize that “not now, Nanami” tone anywhere. Whatever it was, it was serious. Switching gears mentally to brace for the impending shitstorm, she exhaled,” Give me 30 minutes.”

“20.”

“What? That’s not even realisti—” she stopped, hearing the phone click. Rolling her eyes, she watched her friend exit the post office and walk over to the car.

“So, I say we go to that new brunch place first and then—wait what’s wrong?” Hitomi pivoted recognizing her friend was much less enthused than when she’d left. Nanami turned to her, an apologetic look on her face. “The hospital has you on-call again, huh?”

“Duty calls, sadly.” She felt bad about lying, but knew she’d feel worse if Hitomi got caught up in her mess. “Though I don’t know how long it’ll take so we might be able to salvage the day.”

“No, it’s ok, I understand. Take your time, we can always hang tomorrow or later in the week. When do you need to be there?”

“… in 20 minutes.”

“That’s unrealistic.”

“That’s what I tried to tell hi—I mean them, but it’s an emergency. Mind dropping me off at my house?”

“You got it. I’ll drive, you watch for cops.” Before Nanami could protest, Hitomi screeched out of the parking lot and back down the road they came.

Waving bye to her friend, Nanami hurriedly grabbed her keys and work bag just in case the talk carried over to lab work. Running down to her car, she sped over to the base, basically rolling out of the car when she arrived as there were only 5 minutes to spare. Hearing a noise, she reflexively turned to look but continued running forward. Suddenly she felt herself run into a solid figure as she bounced back, falling onto her soon-to-be-late keester. Regaining her bearings, she looked up and saw an older gentleman in traditional attire, his hair slicked back and his face serious.

“Oh my gosh I am so sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going,” she apologized, giving him an earnest look.

He paused for a beat before giving her a kind smile, offering his hand to help her up, “That’s alright miss, no need to apologize. Where are you off to in such a hurry anyway?”

Crap, how do I get out of this one… she strategized inwardly on how to answer the question discreetly without sounding rude. “Oh nowhere, I just have to… make a house call! I’m a doctor, and my patient’s a massive germaphobe; very needy, you see.” She laughed awkwardly, hoping he bought it.

At her last comment, she could’ve sworn she saw a look of recognition flash across his face, but figured it was her imagination. “Oh, I see. Well he’s a lucky man to have you. As such an attentive caretaker, I mean. I won’t hold you up any longer, have a nice day Dr… what did you say your name was?”

“I didn’t.” She smiled, “You have a nice day too!” She said as she continued her jog to the base. She looked back to see him waving, returning it as she rounded the corner. Well that was close.

Once at the front gate, the door opened before she knocked, an irritated Overhaul waiting on the other side. “What took you so long. I said 20.”

“And I was going to say that was unrealistic before you rudely hung up on me. Besides, I would’ve actually gotten here on time if not for your friendly neighbors. I don’t know how the HOA of this neighborhood decided to let you of all people in. Everyone else seems so nice.” She pouted.

“What are you rambling about?”

“Your neighbor? I ran into an old man outside—I didn’t tell him where I was going or why I was here, obviously—but he seemed nice, if not a tad nosey.”

At this she saw him pause, “… What did he say to you?” The question much meeker than the last.

“Uhm, I bumped into him by accident, so he just asked where I was going, told me to have a nice day... oh! Also, how lucky you are to have me. You know, obvious stuff.” His brows raised before she quickly clarified the last statement, “As a doctor! I told him I was your doctor. He was pretty nonchalant about the whole thing.”

Though he donned his usual mask, she could tell his features had softened at whatever he was thinking. She’d even bet there was a small smile forming, but at what she wasn’t sure, “Hm, I see. Well, there’s no use in loitering around, let’s go.”

“Well you’re the one that stopped but ok” she said under her breath. He turned, giving her a warning look as she shrugged, raising her hands in faux surrender.

They continued down the usual pathway in the underground base before reaching his office and passing it, going down a hallway she wasn’t familiar with. It gradually became much darker the further they went, and the air temperature felt as though it had dropped at least 10 degrees, almost causing her to shiver. After what felt like an indefinite amount of time they arrived at a door, but before Overhaul could reach the handle, it opened, a panicked Kurono standing in the doorway.

“He had a pill.”

Looking past him, Nanami could see the assailant from the night before. Though he was savagely beaten, it was apparent he’d killed himself with whatever pill was hidden in his mouth as foam was formed around it, his body still going through its final convulsions. Working in a large hospital, she’d seen her fair share of people dying, but to say it got any easier would be a half-truth. The vision was familiar, but it was still unpleasant, no matter who it was. In contrast, Overhaul seemed irritated for a second before realizing something and returning to his stoic expression.

“No matter, we got all we needed from him anyway. Follow me,” he directed at her as he left the room and Kurono to dispose of the body. Nanami somberly followed, mentally giving the man a moment of silence. Whatever happened, she knew the importance of remaining objective in the presence of death. There might come a time when she’d make some bad decisions herself—to put it ever so lightly— and she hoped whoever was there in her last moments wouldn’t relish in her death either. They arrived at the door of his office, the clicking of the handle rousing her from her thoughts. He sat down across from her on one couch as she sat on the other, now feeling a bit out of place in her casual attire.

“It seems you have a price on your head.”

“Hm?” Nanami squeaked, her face that of disbelief.

“The lackeys that tried to take you were sent by the head of the Okumura clan, a rival organization. He seems sure you have a unique ability and learning of our partnership only seemed to confirm this.”

“Bu…But I was so careful. I don’t talk to anyone about us, I take weird routes every time I come here, I always use the burner ph—“ she began frantically before he cut in.

“You were not at fault for this. One of the new recruits was abducted. He didn’t know much, but he gave enough information to pique their interest.”

“And what happened to him?”

He was surprised at the question, but answered anyway, “He was set free after the questioning.”

“Well where is he now? Maybe he can tell us something useful about them and what else they want.”

“He’s no longer with us.”

“… Like he quit?”

“…”

“Overhaul.”

“… As I said, he’s no longer with us.” They stared at each other, Nanami now knowing the “snitches get stitches” saying to be only half true. Something tells me stiches wouldn’t help him now… She sighed, his blank expression unwavering as he continued, “Also, there is no ‘us’ when it comes to you and I and the Okumura. You will stay here until this problem is solved.”

“I’m gonna do what now?”

“You heard me. Your apartment is no longer safe. Considering they probably expected to see their men return last night with you captured, they will undoubtedly send more to finish the job.”

She opened her mouth to speak before closing it again. She knew it wasn’t safe to stay at her place, but staying at the base was just a lot, especially if her assumption about not being able to leave was correct. “Ok, but I have work and a life. Am I just supposed to hide here and put all that on hold?”

“Would you rather put it on hold or have it all end?”

“…That’s not fair.”

“Most things aren’t.”

She shifted in her seat biting her lip, realizing she was losing the argument. Every counter she came up with she mentally shot down before speaking it. I could stay at Hitomi’s house? No, they’d just follow me there and attack her too, or worse… I could stay at home and defend my place? Except they wouldn’t stop coming. My place would be trashed and then the neighbors would find out...I could...

“I could go in myself and get them. It’s my head they’re after, I’ll just have to convince them it’s not worth the trouble.”

He gave her a pitiable look, knowing the suggestion was equal parts blind bravery and desperation, “Your training with Rappa has made you a capable fighter, but are you really prepared to kill another person, permanently? Dozens of them? Simply maiming them wouldn’t be enough, they’d keep coming until…” He paused as he saw her look down in defeat, her fists clenched in her lap, her jaw tightening. She was angry—mad as hell—but she knew he was right. She was a fighter, not a killer, and no amount of training could change that overnight. She knew the logical solution to the problem, but her nature wouldn’t allow her to solve it. Seated across from her, his head tilted as he gazed at her pensively. Overhaul couldn’t figure out why but seeing her so upset was… unpleasant. He wanted nothing more than to make it stop, though the motivation behind the action remained a mystery. “Dr. Watanabe,” He continued slightly softer than before, her fists unclenching for a moment at the change in tone, “Your strengths lie elsewhere. Strategically, it makes the most sense for you to be here. It will only be for two weeks.”

“Two weeks?” Nanami could tell he was trying, but the frustration with the situation lingered. Attempting to calm herself and accept reality, she finally managed to respond,” Can I at least get my stuff first?”

“Yes, but let’s be quick about it.”

“’Let’s?”

“You didn’t really think you were going alone, did you?”

“No!... Well, yes. Fine, let’s go.”

Short Story: A witches guide to time travel: A Witches Guide to Time-Travel: Rest and Recuperation

This story was written for a local short story competition for world mental health day

A Witches Guide to Time-Travel: Rest and Recuperation

Everybody needs a break now and then; Even me, whose job involves gallivanting across the time-stream and writing about my experiences. Believe it or not, time-travel can be exhausting, so I am here today with suggestions for some of the best places to rest and recuperate during your adventures. As always, my focus will be on the past, as the timeline after your present can be difficult to navigate, even for the most experienced travellers.

Before you leave:

• If you are coming from a present, be sure to read my article on first-time time-travelling. Even if you have travelled before, it's important to brush up on the steps needed, and make sure you have the right amount of beet juice and to see my recommendations of the best brands of ritual chalk.

• once you've decided on a destination, make sure you are well prepared, with maps, appropriate garb, comfy shoes and some knowledge of the culture.

My top 5 self-care destinations:

So, it's time to decide on the right destination for your break. as you read through my top five suggestions for the most relaxing places in the time-stream, think about what sort of a holiday you want. Are you taking a few well-earned long service days off work for a quick trip somewhere warm? or a couple’s trip to get to know each other a bit more? or is it the school hols, and time to take the little ones somewhere a bit more interesting than Melbourne? whatever the occasion, I have been to a few of the best places for a break from the present.

5. City of Love, Booze and Jazz

If your way of winding down is winding up, then why not take a trip to jazz-age Paris. Imagine Promenading with the who's who of the world, dressed to the nines, with a view of the Eiffel tower. Believe it or not, France was the spot to be in the 1920s. I found this out by accident on a botched trip to Massachusetts to pay a visit to Emily Dickinson, which I was rather disappointed about. I was quickly immersed in the extravagance of the era. Think Jazz, think booze, think French accents, bobbed hair and clothes so covered in beads and tassels you could make a few hundred dream-catchers with just one. Dive deep into the intricacies of Dada and cubism or stay on the surface of the culture and join the party, it’s up to you.

4. Feeling Bookish?

The Library of Alexandria: if you're anything like me, you could spend a month in this amazing structure. It is not only a huge collection of papyrus "books" filled with information lost to anyone after 30 BC, it was a research facility, and contained meeting rooms, gardens, and many interesting people, worth stopping in your sight-seeing to have a chat to. It's one of my favourite places to spend time, browsing the content of its shelves, and as an added bonus, there is plenty to see and do in Alexandria itself, including, if your timing is good, visiting the Pharos of Alexandria.

3. Time to Chill

A fan of winter sports? last year, I took a commercial skiing tour in Gondwana during the Karoo ice age. What an experience! There were five of us including the guide, a fellow I shared a few classes with in university, and asked me on the trip for some publicity. We trekked for four days, from the meeting place in the middle of a white expanse of nowhere to another, white, chilly nowhere. If you need time to think, where the only sound is the wind across the snowfields, far, far away from any other people, this is the place to go.

There are a few warnings that come with this destination:

a) pre-prepare the ritual. It's cold. It's snowy. There is nowhere to draw the symbols you'll need to leave. If you are going alone, paint your ritual on fabric large enough to stand in, and keep your beat juice in an enchanted thermos, so it doesn't freeze. those of you still using blood, I suggest taking at least one backup thermos. If it gets too hot or too cold it will not work.

b) don’t forget to slip-slop-slap. It may be cold, but the sun is still strong, and the reflections make the UV much worse.

2. The Floating City

Last week, before I returned to the present to find a WIFI connection to update A Witches Guide to Time-Travel, I spent four days in Venice in the 18th century. It was a week of being ferried around on boats, seeing amazing buildings, famous art and exploring this amazing city. It's a place for everyone, but I would definitely recommend Venice to those looking for a romantic getaway.

1. Sweet Home

Sometimes the best places for a holiday are the ones closest to home. Think of that favourite natural spot near home. Whether its beach or bush, chances are, in the modern era it's starting to get pretty crowded with tourists who've discovered the spot from locals Instagram (oops). I have a favourite swimming hole I visit when I'm home, but sadly there are few times when the weather is warm that you can be there alone to enjoy the rapids, the crystal waters, and warm rocks on your back when you get out of the chilly water. So, I've taken to travelling back a few decades, to before the internet.

So take your time, lie back and relax. No noise pollution, no one to walk past as you go for a cheeky skinny dip. What could be closer to heaven than that?

Enjoy your getaway and take the time out of your sight-seeing to do what you went there for, relax and recover from the exhaustion of the everyday.

It’s a Boy-Girl Thing - E.D.

Authors note: I’M BACK! for those who care: my holiday was sO MUCH FUN OH MY GOD!! I had the bEST time!!! sadly school has started again and i’m drowning in homework again!!!

disclaimer 1: over these past few weeks I’ve received so many asks about whether or not I was still gonna update this: the answer is YES!

I hate the feeling of letting you all wait or maybe letting you down when i’m not posting as often as i (and you) would want me to.

the things is that (and this might come as a shocker) actually do have a life outside of tumblr. I’m in my senior year of high school and I trying to get good grades, so I can get into a good university next year...

I do love writing this and I am so excited to continue writing this story (and more!!) and I will not stop until this story is finished!!! I promise ahha!! I see those messages as a compliment (bc apparently you all like this very much and want to read more) but sometimes they make me feel a little bad/stressed because i feel like I’m let you all down... so yea..... I hope you all understand!

Although the constant bickering between the two drives everyone around them crazy - the two live their separate lives peacefully. At least that’s how it was until they wake up one morning and every had changed…

You liked sports. You honestly liked being active. But not in late summer, when it was hot like an oven outside and the air humid.

You could feel the sweat dripping down your back, your shirt completely drenched. Your heart beat banging in your head and your legs shaking. You squint your eyes against the intense sunset.

Ethan had made you run around the field all afternoon. He had made you run laps, do pushups, situps and all different sorts of exercises which names you had forgotten right after Ethan said you could stop doing them. After finishing you had dropped yourself next to Ethan on the grass: completely worn out.

‘What are you doing?’ Ethan had asked.

‘I’m taking a break. Actually, not even a break: I’m done! I think if I continue I might get a heart attack or something,’ you breath still went rapidly.

Ethan just laughed while grabbing a water bottle from the cooler he had taken with him. ‘What are you on about? This was the warming up!’ He threw a cold bottle of water next to you in the grass. Your hands quickly opened it and you gulped down half of the bottle before glaring at Ethan.

‘I’m definitely warm…’ You mumbled annoyed.

Slowly you had gotten up from the grass and Ethan had made you catch footballs for an hour. The sun was now setting and your whole body ached. You fell onto the bench at the side of the field.

‘I don’t think I’ll ever be able to leave this bench. I can’t carry your body anymore Eth,’ you sighed and wiped your forehead with his shirt. It didn’t help much: your shirt was completely soak. Ethan stood in front of you, grinning. Silently you watched the sunset behind the hills.

‘Let’s go home,’ you said, getting up. You grabbed your bag and looked at Ethan. He was still smiling at you. ‘I thought you said “you were never gonna be able to get off that bench”,’ he chucked at you. You rolled your eyes, but couldn't help but let a smile creep on your face.

‘We really need to head home though. Grayson said something about a party this morning and I think he really wants to go,’ you say as you walk towards the parking lot where Ethan had parked your car earlier.

‘Who’s hosting the party?’ Ethan asked you, eyeing your in a curious manner.

‘Austin, I think…’ You say, trying to remember what Grayson had said this morning. ‘He said Austin invited you both. And that it would be a big party. Apparently his parents are out of town.’

‘You should go,’ Ethan says, as he opens the trunk. You put the footballs and bottles of water and other training gear in the trunk.

‘I don’t want to go,’ you say in all honesty. Ethan rolls his eyes as he closes the trunk again.

‘Grayson and I never go somewhere alone-’

‘Yea, that’s kinda weird: you two should try to being more independent,’ you cut him off. Ethan eyes you angrily - irritated that you cut him off, but ignores your comment.

‘Like I said, before you cut me off: we never go somewhere alone. If Grayson wants to go: you go with him,’ Ethan says as he walks towards the driver seat. You walk towards passengers seat and get into your car.

‘I don’t like those kind of parties! What do you want me to do while I’m there?! Also; this could only go wrong. Someone will definitely notice something’s off!’ You tell him, trying to convince him why you shouldn’t go to Austin’s party.

‘You can try talking to some girls?’ Ethan suggests chuckeling, but quickly comes back from his idea: ‘Wait, no! Don’t talk to girls! You’ll for sure embarrass me!’

You glare at him. ‘What’s that supposed to mean?’

‘Y/N, you might have a 4.0 on your GPA but you definitely don’t have a 4.0 in flirting,’ Ethan laughs at his own joke.

‘I’m not that bad….’ You say softly.

‘You know what, I’ll go to the party as well. That way I can keep an eye on you so you don’t embarrass me too much.’ Ethan says. You give him another glare. Annoyed how he won’t trust you.

The field wasn’t far from your home. Ethan parked in front of the Dolan house and you got out of the car.

‘Do you need to pick an outfit for tonight too - or do you trust me to pick one out myself without embarrassing you?’ You snarled at him. Ethan looked unimpressed by your remark.

‘Nah, you’re good,’ he simply said, pushing a strand of your long hair out of his face. In the days that he had been trapped in your body, he had only wore your hair down. It was now that you relised it was probably because he didn’t know how to tie a ponytail with long hair. You huffed and walked towards the trunk where you got the footballs and other training gear.

You walked towards the Dolan house without saying goodbye to Ethan. You dumped the training gear in the garage and walked immediately upstairs. You grabbed a clean pair of undrwear and some basketball shorts and walked towards the shower.

You took a quick shower - the same way you did that morning. This time the towel didn’t drop and you got the underwear on in one go. You stood infront of Ethan’s side of the sink and sprayed on some cologne. You closed your eyes as you inhaled the scent: it was smelled very good.

You walked out of the bathroom and layed down on Ethan’s bed. The party wouldn’t start till 9:30 - so you had a good three hours to kill.

Before you really could think of something to do, Grayson barched into the room. These boys left eachother no privacy did they?!

‘E,’ he exclaimed as he jumbed on the bed next to you, ‘wanna play some video games?’

And before you knew it, you were walking towards Grayson’s room. It was practially the same as Ethan - but with different colored bedsheets and instead of a poster of a motercycle there was a poster of old looking car. You recognised Grayson’s Ford Bronco - altough the one on the poster was red in color. Grayson turned the PlayStation on and handed you a controller.

‘Dude!!’ Grayson yelled at you. You stared at the screen. “YOU DIED” it read in thic red letters.

‘I swear I shot them first! I don’t know how I died?!’ You said annoyed.

‘Why are you so bad at this game?! Did you lose all your skills while haning out with Y/N today or something?!’ Grayson said jokingly, although he stilled looked a little annoyed at you for losing.

‘No,’ you mumbed while restarting the game. Playing video games was more fun then you innitionally thought it would be. Grayson was good company too, chatting away about his day.

‘How is Y/N doing?’ Grayson asks suddenly. You huff, concentrating on the game, ‘she’s good.’

Grayson falls back on the bed, starring at the ceiling, ‘she looks good.’

His comment makes you forget the game and within a second the red letters spelling out “YOU LOST” fill the tv screen again.

‘What’s that supposed to mean?’ You ask Grayson, confused. Grayson gives you a ‘like you don’t know what I’m talking about’-look. You gave him the ‘I-really-don’t-have-a-fucking-clue-what-you’re-talking-about-so-tell-me-now’-kind of look.

‘You said it yourself E: she has a good ass!’

You look at him in shock. It was weird hearing Grayson making comments about your ass - well just any ass - without getting red and flushed.

‘I never said that!’ Ethan would never say something like that about you!

‘Yea you did, like three days ago,’ Grayson says while taking the controller from you hands. ‘But don’t worry, I won’t tell Sophia tonight.’ He chuckles at his own joke. He walked towards the PlayStation and turns it off.

‘Is she gonna be there too?’ You mentally roll your eyes. Your energy level for this party just dropped to minus 6.

‘Yea, so let’s have some diner and get ready for this party,’ Grayson says as he walks out of his room. When he’s halfway down the stairs you hear him laugh and say:

‘and don’t forget to bring protection! We don’t want any surprises in 9 months!’

Lenten Season: The Rejection And Betrayal - Mark 14

Rejection and betrayal are probably some of the biggest fears of every person. The great majority, if not all, strive to prove their importance, to earn recognition and fame. Moreover, in some cases, people willing to lose their humanity in exchange for prestige and influence. And all these are the result of fallen human nature that dictates the way people live. Furthermore, pride is the greatest sin of all. Pride is an engine, and it carries behind a whole line of other sins.

Because pride is the reason for fleshly desires (Gen. 3:6-7), that is why rejection and betrayal hurt. That is to say, the wrong perspectives built upon the foundation that has nothing but perishable things will eventually fall, and great that fall will be (Mat. 7:27). Consequently, rejection and betrayal could bring a person to the point of devastation and complete void. And indeed, Christ Jesus is the only one who can fill this emptiness and restore the brokenness.

This time, I do not want to go through the whole history of events in Mark 14. Therefore, I would encourage you to read Mark 14 beforehand. Please, take your time to study these chapters by yourself, with your family or study group.

Rejection and Betrayal by religious leaders

At the beginning of Mark 14 author tells us how religious leaders were preparing a plan of rejection and betrayal of Jesus Christ. Thus, the ones whom God separated to serve Him and appointed to be holy unto Him now seek to kill the Son of God. Moreover, they wanted to trick the Lord Jesus, so He will give them a reason to accuse Him and put Christ Jesus to death. But because of the fame of the Messiah, which quickly spread and far beyond Jerusalem, they feared that instead, the people might revolt against them (Mark 14:1-2).

The stone which the builders rejected

The rejection and betrayal by religious leaders were not something new in the history of the Holy Land. The march of the prophets started from Obadiah in 850 BC and ended with Malachi in 424 BC. The Lord God has sent many prophets to the wicked kingdoms of Israel and Judah. Thus, their mission was to warn and to reprove leaders from their evil ways. So, out of twenty kings of Judah, only eight of them have listened to the prophets. But the nineteen kings of Israel have rejected all the prophets. Sadly, after rejection and betrayal, most of the prophets got martyred.

The parable of the Lord of the Vineyard in Mark 12:1-12 (also Matthew 21:33-46 and Luke 20:9-19) summed up these 426 years of the march of the prophets. Furthermore, during another 400 so-called silent years, the Lord God turned from the children of Israel. However, rejection and betrayal by the religious leader brought God's quietness and obliteration over the kingdoms. And as Mark 12:12 says, the chief priests, scribes, and elders knew that Jesus Christ spoke about them in that parable.

Rejection and betrayal are not a choice

Just like in the times of prophets, when pride and self-righteousness of leaders tranquillized their humbleness and fear of the Lord God, the religious life of the priests times of Jesus was rotten and self-centred. Thus, their rejection and betrayal are not necessarily a choice but a result of the continuous life in sin and rebellion against God. The pious life that they practiced was rather mechanical than holy. And such a routine, godless religious life made their hearts callus. The hearts that are incapable of receiving the Word of God and the promised Messiah.

I have touched on this topic in the Bible Study about Fasting According To Jesus – Matthew 6:16-18. Maybe you will find some time to study this one too.

Question to ponder:

Do you see any of the similitudes between the religious leader times of prophets or times of Jesus and the religious people nowadays? Do you see the presence of rejection and betrayal in the modern church? How about your pious life?

Treacherous and faithful types of Christians

There are many Christians who profess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. They have prayed the prayer, got baptized. Further, they go to church every Sunday and even attend Wednesday prayer meetings. Moreover, they do partake in Lord's Supper and other important religious activities and celebrations. From first sight, they are but typical new-born Christians who fully devoted their lives to serve the Lord Jesus. However, the examples from Mark 14 that we are about to study will reveal to us the true nature of those who are treacherous and who are faithful ones.

Mary of Bethany - faithfulness and devotion

Mark 14:3 tells us the story of Mary who lived in Bethany. She came to the house of Simon the leper when the Lord Jesus had dinner with His disciples. Mary brought with her an expensive alabaster box full of aromatic oil from India. She poured the contents over Jesus' head, as an anointing for His burial.

Some disciples responded with indignation that the perfume had been wasted, for its value was over three hundred pence - a worker's pay for an entire year. And the most vocal among the twelve was Judas Iscariot. He insisted that such an expensive oil should have been sold and the money given to the poor, as a generous act during Passover.

But the real intention of Judas was a selfish one. He was concerned only for his bag of money (John 12:4-6). Moreover, he and other disciples were scolding the woman. Therefore, Jesus said to leave Mary alone. His point was that they always have the poor around them to minister unto them, but He would not be with them always.

Mary of Bethany may not know the whole idea behind the ministry of Jesus as the Christ but she knew for sure that the Lord is about to die. And wherever this gospel shall be preached, her gracious act will be known to the whole world for a memorial of her (Mark 14:9).

Judas Iscariot - rejection and betrayal

Meanwhile, Judas Iscariot went to the chief priest to betray Jesus unto them. Further, he was waiting for a good moment for rejection and betrayal of the Lord (Mark 14:10-11).

Of course, Jesus Christ knew that one of the twelve will betray Him. Moreover, Jesus made an announcement about it while they were having Lord's Supper in Mark's personal room in the house of his mother (Mark 14:15, Acts 12:12). And such an announcement shocked His disciples that they started questioning the Lord, so He will tell who is that betrayer. However, Jesus did not reveal the identity of the one who made rejection and betrayer. Otherwise, they would not let him leave the room (John 13:27-30).

So, Jesus' final words were that it would be better for that man if he had never been born (Mark 14:21). Of course, that speech Jesus addressed to Judas. Thus, the Lord announced his "rewards", to suffer the terrible consequences of his rejection and betrayal of the Messiah.

Rewards from men are immediate, from God - imminent

I am going to stop at this point to summarise the sections above. And now it came much more clear to me the meaning of the words of the Lord Jesus in Matthew 6:4,6,18. Particularly, this sentence (with a big emphasis on the last word): thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thy openly. And that is one of the reasons why I read KJV ;)

The moral here is the following. Nobody knew the real intent of Mary of Bethany when she "wasted" such an expensive oil for Jesus' anointing. Moreover, they reprimanded her for that. That is now we know that her motives were gracious, however, immediate rewards from the fellow-Christians were murmuring. And on the other hand, Judas Iscariot whos idea was to sell the oil and give the money to the poor instead. I am sure that his idea was approved by the majority. But secretly from his Master and brother, Judas was nurturing rejection and betrayal of the Savior of the world.

However, the Lord Himself dot the I's and cross the T's. He is the One who sees the hidden parts of every man. Only Jesus knows the secrets that we store in our hearts. Thus, the rewards are imminent and He is the One who is to sound a trumpet (Matt. 6:2). For the faithful Mary of Bethany that is a memorial of her along with the preaching of the Gospel. But for Judas Iscariot the Betrayer - condemnation, eternal death and separation from the Glory of God.

Question to ponder:

Would you like to receive a reward from the Highest? Or your chasing after rewards from the men? Apart from attending church services and reading the Bible, how do you work out your salvation (Philippians 2:12)? What do you think your reward will be?

Rejection and Betrayal as a result of sinful life

As I have mentioned in the first section of today's weekly insight, rejection and betrayal are not a choice but a result of sinful life. That is to say that a person will not come to the point of rejection and betrayal of someone if he/she would be righteous. But as we know, there is no one righteous, not even one (Psalm 14:1-3, Psalm 53:1-3, Romans 3:10-12). Judas Iscariot was not better than that who never truly repented of his sins but followed Jesus because of His name and glory for the sake of his personal gains.

And yes, we are not better than Judas Iscariot in some or another way. Do you remember that passage from Genesis 18:22-33? The passage when Abraham was interceding before the Lord God to save Sodom and Gomorrah for the sake of righteous people. And there was none, except Lot and his family of two unmarried sons, two unmarried daughters, two married daughters and their husbands. But God would never destroy the righteous with the wicked. Thus, he saved Lot's family.

But this time, all the way around. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the perfect and righteous man, came to save "Sodom and Gomorrah" and took the punishment in our stead. There is no one righteous, not even one but God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

Question to ponder:

What sin made Judas Iscariot come to the point of rejection and betrayal of our Lord Jesus? Search your heart. Is there any secret part that you hiding from God, an area of your life that has to be repented of?

Insights

No matter how religious you are, no matter how spiritual you are, you are sinful by nature. There is no one righteous, not even one. And your piousness does not make you more or less sinful in the PERFECT eyes of God.

Many religious people of all times are blinded by their pride and self-righteousness. They cannot accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Thus, rejection and betrayal are the only results of their wicked life.

If you seek the Lord Jesus Christ with all your heart, like Mary of Bethany, God's reward is a memorial of you forever on earth and in heaven. But if you still serve your sins, your reward is eternal damnation.

God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16)

If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, why not now!? Please, do not wait until it is too late! Embrace God’s Grace, Mercy and Love now – Accept Jesus Now!

Hello my lovely peeps!

This is about all those prompts in my inbox! I have gotten so many many awesome ones over the time that my inbox is pretty nicely full heheh - since its always such a compliment and a rush of yaaaay-feelings I still want you to send me tons <3

The thing is tho, with some of them I don’t feel like I can write them. Some bc I don’t think I can do the stuff that’s asked justice, or it’s something I can’t quite get behind or something for me (for my personal version of them at least) feels ooc or for the simple fact that even tho I love the prompt I can’t seem to come up with anything for it.

But I don’t want to just delete them, since you wouldn’t know if it’s still coming or is a wip or if you should look for someone else to write them. I thought about addressing them via the . + tags thing but that would mean 30+ posts and I’d have to come up with @soandso anon names you’d recognize as yourself.

You were having the absolute worst day of your life. Your alarm clock didn’t wake you up and you ended up being late to class. Once you got to class, you remembered at the last moment you had a test in Korean, which Mr. Nam decided to be super generous and make the test worth a hundred points. And as if that wasn’t enough, you came home with a sprained ankle after landing wrong when you failed to spike a ball. The day just couldn’t get any worse.

Your mother was driving you to the doctor, seeing if she could get some aspirin or some other cream that would help your ankle heal faster. It was already 8PM, and surely only the surgeons remained at the hospital at this time.

You sit patiently in the waiting room as your mother wandered around the shelves filled with many different types of creams and medicines. You tried to stand up and shifted some weight onto your right foot, but that only made you wince in pain and you fell back into the seat. The painkillers were losing its effect and the pain was coming back.

“Ugh, I hate this so much!!” you said a little too loudly, earning you a few shushes from various nurses throughout the room. You sighed in frustration.

Soon, an hour passed and you were still waiting in the waiting room, getting more and more impatient. The nurses that lingered at this time began to pack their backs and head home. Your mother was considering to just go back home and come again tomorrow. She begins to lift you up.

Suddenly, you hear a shout and footsteps quickly approaching you.

“No! Don’t lift her up like that! It might cause further damage to the ankle!” a man approached you. He grabbed your other arm and shifted some of your weight onto him.

“O-oh!” your mother exclaimed. “Are you a doctor here?”

You rolled your eyes. Seriously Mom? His badge, stethoscope, white coat, and clipboard- she still had the nerve to ask.

“Yes… I am. And how long have the two of you been here? It’s 9:10pm already… Has no one offered to help you yet?” He asked, concerned. You nod slowly. He sighed.

“They should get fired…” he mutters under his breath. “Come with me. I’ll examine you. It’s your right ankle, right? It looks like it’s badly sprained…” You nodded. “Does it still hurt?” He asked worriedly.

The pain has dulled quite a bit, but it still hurt. “A little bit…” you hissed as you tried to shift your weight onto your right foot again.

“Don’t do that! It’ll make the sprain worse. I’ll quickly examine you and you can go. Follow me.” He leads you into a small check-up room and tells you and your mother to wait as he turned in some papers.

You stared at your foot. The sprain had turned purple. How did you even sprain it? You knew it’s because you failed to do a spike and probably landed wrong, but how? Your ankle throbs at the thought of it and you shuddered.

The doctor comes back fairly quickly with a new clipboard and pencil. “Alright, let’s get this over with quickly. Tell me your name, age, and how you got the sprain.” You nodded and quickly told him the information he wanted.

“My name is Y/N L/N, I am age 17 and I got the sprain earlier today when I was playing volleyball. I failed to spike a ball and I landed wrong, but I didn’t notice until I started walking and my foot started throbbing really badly…” you trailed off as you waited for him to finish jotting down the things you told him. He nods.

“Okay, take off your shoes and socks and let me examine it.” You followed his instructions and he observes the sprain. After a while, he glances up and asks, “Have you applied any sort of cream or taken any medicine?”

You shook your head. “I did take some painkillers to dull the pain, but that’s it… the effects are starting to fade and it’s starting to hurt a lot more now, so can we please hurry-” you spoke faster and faster with the returning pain. He nods quickly and jots a few more things down on his clipboard.

“Okay. The sprain isn’t that bad, but it will get worse if you don’t take care of it. For now, you will be on crutches. Do not put any weight on your foot whatsoever, let it heal by itself. I will prescribe you with some medicine to take and also a cream for you to apply, and it should heal after a week. But if not, please feel free to come again,” he explained.

“Thanks so much, Dr. Kim… S-Seok…” your mother started, trying to read his name tag on his coat. He chuckles. “Dr. Kim Seokjin. But you can call me Dr. Jin or Seokjin, if you like. There are many Dr. Kims around.” You and your mother nod in unison.

“Would you like to go pick up your medicine for your daughter? Don’t have her walk too much just yet. I can bring it over to you if you want-”

Your mother shook her head. “It’s fine. Thank you so much. I will go pick it up myself. But how long is Y/N going to be on crutches?” your mother asked. Dr. Jin thinks for a few moments. “It depends on how quickly the ankle heals. Everyone is different, but most people only need crutches for 2-3 days after the accident. Here, go pick this up at the pharmacy. It should be a matter of minutes before it’s ready, I already sent them an email.” Dr. Jin hands your mother a slip of paper with the name of the medicine on it. “Thank you so much.” Dr. Jin waves it away. “No problem. It’s my job. I will watch your daughter while you’re away.” Your mother leaves the room for the pharmacy.

You and Dr. Seokjin were alone. You sighed and leaned back into the hospital bed. Dr. Jin notices how frustrated you looked. “Having a bad day?” he asks. You nod slowly. “A very bad one.” He sighs. “I can tell. It’s been the same for me recently… patients coming in and bugging me at 12am, nurses delivering the wrong type of medicine... Just not being able to save people in general frustrates me. I’m a surgeon, and the past two operations I’ve had were unsuccessful.” He sighs.

“But I can’t blame it on anyone. I brought this upon myself, I wanted to save people… But I’m not enough.” You watched as he took off his stethoscope. “I can’t think straight anymore…” he says as he rubs his temple. You press your lips into a straight line.

“Maybe you just need some sleep. You’ve been working late recently,” you said. Dr. Jin looks at you. “M-maybe you’re right. I-I’ll have someone sub for me. Thank you, Y/N.” His perfect pink lips that you haven’t noticed before curve into a smile, a smile that made your heart skip a beat when you did. “Oh- uhm… N-no problem!” you managed to stammer out.

His dark brown orbs smiled at you. God, he’s so freaking pretty, you thought to yourself. Wait, Y/N- stop. You’re like 5 and he’s like 30 years older than you. He probably already has a special someone… you thought to yourself and sighed sadly at the thought.

Dr. Jin tilts his head at your deep sigh. “Something on your mind? Feel free to tell me. It’s never good to keep things inside yourself,” he says. You shook your head. “I-it’s nothing. Just some thoughts about how I’ll…” you stopped. How I’ll what?

“...get through school with this thing!” you pointed at your wrapped ankle. “Yeah!” you said with maybe a little too much enthusiasm. He cocks his eyebrow. “Really?” You nodded quickly. “Yep!” You screamed for yourself to stop. Y/N, what the hell are you saying?! You never act like this, you’re making this more awkward than it needs to be-

Your thoughts were interrupted as your mother comes back into the room with your medicine. “Thank you for looking after Y/N. We will be on our way now!” Your mother came to lift you out of the bed. Dr. Jin blinks a few times, then remembers. “Oh wait! Don’t go yet. I still need to retrieve your crutches. I’ll only be a minute.” He chuckles nervously and quickly leaves the room.

Once he left, you let out a sigh so happily that your mother became suspicious. “Y/N…?”

Before you realized what you did, you blinked and snapped yourself out of your lovestruck trance. “Huh? Oh! What?”

Your mother’s lips curved into a smirk. “Oh, there’s no need to hide it. It’s written all over your face~” Your face burned a tomato red and you looked away. “What’s written all over my face, hm?”

“Oho, don’t worry love. I think I have some feelings for him too- don’t tell your father!” your mother whispered jokingly. Your mother’s whisper wasn’t soft enough, as Dr. Jin stood in the doorway, shocked by what he thought he might’ve just heard. Your mother realizes another presence in the room and turns around to meet his face. “O-oh! You’re back!” You see a faint blush spread across your mother’s face.

You snickered at your mom’s reaction. “Oooh mom, I’m gonna tell dad~”

“Mm-!” your mother glared at you. Suddenly, you hear a loud laughter. You glanced over at Dr. Jin, who was bent over and cackling. He loses balance for a second and leans into the door, but balances himself quickly. He tries to regain his composure but fails, a giggle escaping his mouth.

Oh what the heck- he was practically seducing me a minute ago, and now he’s acting super adorable- you stopped yourself before your thoughts got too far.

“H-here are your crutches-” he manages before another giggle gets the better of him.

You suddenly felt a giggle climbing up your throat as well, just from hearing his laughter. It was so contagious- if it was a virus, you would’ve died already. Before long, you, your mother and Dr. Jin were crying tears of joy.

“Oh Dr. Jin, you do have a very good sense of humor and a very nice laughter-” your mother praises him as she cleared her throat. “Thank you, ma’am.” You winked at your mother and earned a slap from her. “Ow!”

The three of you burst into laughter again.

You soon left the hospital with your mother after thanking Dr. Seokjin again, your night a little brighter after the events that just happened. You held the little slip of paper that had Dr. Jin’s number on it. You smirked at your mother who doesn’t notice and hides the paper in your pocket.

AY2019/2020 year 1 semester 1 review

Started school around august after orientation camp in july, and had to study after doing nothing for months after a levels and finally had the taste of the rigour of this major.. semester 1 went by too quickly..

Modules taken this semester:

CS1010S Programming Methodology (Python)

Prof: Ben Leong

Exam Dates: 2 Oct (Midterm) / 16 Nov (Practical Exam) / 27 Nov (Finals)

Weightage:

Coursemology – 25% (25%)

Participation – 5% (5%)

Midterm test – 15% (-)

Practical exam – 15% (20%)

Final assessment – 40% (50%)

(those in brackets are for those taking alternative final)

S in CS1010S is for science students, most students are either science students (DSA/ Life Science plenty) or BZA students.

Overall this module easily had the highest workload compared to other modules, having to rush missions every week, complete tutorials (this is pretty standard duh) and lecture trainings before deadlines for bonus points on a gamified platform. One could sit at their table wracking their brains for the whole day and still not be able to come up with a feasible code, or have their codes stuck with some bugs and not knowing how to continue. Really, without the help from fellow friends this module would be hard to get through. Luckily my TA was kind (and patient!) enough to explain such that my brain could get it. Ended up having to IP this module sadly… This module really requires your wholehearted devotion and really tests your patience i must say, especially for people who are not too intellectually inclined (aka me)..

They introduced a new scheme this semester aka Alternative Final, meaning you get to retake your midterm and finals by tabao-ing it into the next sem except you do your finals during the recess week instead of the finals, kinda like a half-retaking a module? Your grades for finals are IP-ed (in progress) rather than letter grades and the finals and midterms will be accounted for in the following half a semester albeit under different weightage components.

They said its a introductory module, but …………..

This year’s practical exam was particularly hard i think i had friends (even the zai ones) getting single digit marks… banked full in on the Method of Life question (Q5) of finals which is a giveaway question asking you how you can apply the concepts to other parts of your life and your main take-aways from taking this module (filled up the whole page and got full marks for it 4m) without this question i would have failed the paper..

Now i have to work hard the next sem… its kinda sad for us BZA students because CS1010S is a prerequisite for those wanting to take BT2101 and CS2030/2040 modules in the following semester (y1s2). Future students (esp BZA) please take the advice to consider this when deciding whether to IP…. because guess who didnt and regretted not thinking deeper…..

Ah one more thing to take note is the weightage is quite different for those IP/ alternative final people, theres higher weightage for the papers :_D

Ben Leong is a pretty good lecturer, hes solid in delivering concepts except my brain may be a little too slow for him.. Theres also lecture videos online that you can refer to and thousands of papers (with solutions!!) waiting for you to do.. something uncommon for many modules i heard? also, you get to see your final (scanned) paper through a website, in ben leong’s words “how cool is that?” he also uploads the mark scheme for your reference which is pretty cool imo. He’s a very interesting lecturer.

MA1521 Calculus for Computing

Prof: Leung Pui Fai

Exams: No midterms, just an online quiz (4 questions, most get full marks for), and the finals

Weightage: cant really rmb the weightage but i think its 40-60? i think tutorial attendance isnt graded..

They said this was just a repeat of H2 maths with more stuffs well boy i must say this wasnt as easy as they said.. okay maybe for me, ive always struggled with maths for a really long time. Surprisingly got a B for H2 Maths, i got a B3 for O levels really the blemish in my results. Got a B- for this module. Many people will say this is an easy module, you can trust them a little different in my shoes i guess. I didnt turn up for lectures for the half part of the semester since he talks a bit too slowly so i just watch the webcast sped up. But being a procrastinator i’m really behind on webcasts by the time the exams came.. i think i spent too much time on CS1010S and its still not enough.. if you dont have the discipline to watch them religiously at home, i would suggest you go for the lecture even though he may talk abit slowly but it forces you to not miss out on them. I dont really had the time (is it i wonder?) to do the tutorials either so i was also behind on them.. most of the time i just sat for tutorials and took the answers down to only work on them many weeks later (much regrets) so i didnt really understood what was going on as the TA went through. please dont be like me… the recess week was for sure not enough to revise/ learn all the content for all your mods for both midterms/finals so please dont be lazy like me…. this is the suffering i brought upon myself TT

Overall i think. it is not that hard a mod if you do your work consistently.. things got a little confusing towards the end i heard they dropped a whole chapter this semester glad they did.

MA1101R Linear Algebra I

Prof: Wang Fei

Weightage:

Finals (28 Nov, 2h)— 60%.

Mid-term test (4 Oct, 2h)— 20%.

3 homework assignments (4% per assignment) — 12%.

An in-class Lab (MATLAB) quiz — 8%.

This was one of my most hardest period in my life and i say this on PERIODT. As if maths wasnt tough enough, this will really declare a survival of the fittest among your remaining brain cells. Friends told me maths came into their dreams… pls extinguish my soul. You must be thinking i am crazy for wanting to take 2 math mods in a sem right? ?

Yeahh no one really does that but it was my idea because i didnt want to do maths together with all the core core mods (BT and CS) next sem so i decided ah i should just get maths over and done with ( hAH real joke bc i couldnt clear CS1010S and i cant take 2k level mods for BT and CS and unlocked clown outfit because theres one more ST2334 core mod that involves probability and stats so much for thinking i will be over and done with for dealing with maths– someone tell me why did i choose this major again?)

Somehow along the way i realised the bell curve for this was surprisingly high i think those who chose this mod intend to delve even deeper in mathematics, mayhaps i joined the wrong major. The R in MA1101R actually stands for rigorous i didnt realise until my friend read the fine prints in the SOC Course Curriculum for BZA or sumn. Pure hell. There are 3 homework assignments (graded mind you) and most of the students get around 50++/60 i think i was the one of the rare few who flunked quite badly and always eyeballed by my TA (who is a prof for some 3k or 4k level maths, not for this mod though). I approached him for consults and for help and he was nice enough to sit me down and explain slowly. He’s pretty good at explaining slowly although he’s pretty fast in class (and most of the semester i had close to ZERO idea what was going on in class for pretty much most of the mods). Shockingly managed to pull out a C from my butt. The intellect of the students are no joke.. Homework assignments are every 3 weeks starting week 6 i think (so week 6, 9, 12) and i think are there to make sure you catch up with the work.

Oh lectures-wise, i sat for ½ of his classes, i really absorb almost nothing.. the rest of the lecture hall seem to get it though or so it seems. so i stopped attending my own lectures to watch the webcast for Prof Victor Tan too. His webcasts/lectures are really popular and it really owe it to his teaching, apparently he taught Wang Fei before and of course had over ten more years of experience. WF’s lecture turn-outs are comparatively less compared to VT. And on panopto (webcast platform) i think it was almost always 360++ views for VT as compared to a 80++/ was it 30++ for WF if i recall correctly. VT slides are also more concise and simple to understand where as WF’s ones are similar to the textbook. You are also required to purchase a textbook for this module costs around $20 from the co-op store in science and i urge you to purchase it asap when the profs announce they are made available bc they run oos quite fast.. the tutorial questions are from the textbook and the textbook is very simple and straightforward and put together by some of the lecturers/profs in school.

BT1101 Introduction to Business Analytics

Prof: Dr Sharon Tan, Desmond Ong

Weightage:

1. Online Quiz & Datacamp Assignments — 7%

Tutorial 1-4 — 8%

Tutorial 5 onwards — 15%

In-class Assessment (Written) — 10%

Practical Assessment — 20%

Final Assessment — 40%

In class assessment is held 2ish weeks after your midterms week so its kinda like your midterms?

Mm i would say this module is the most ?? its hard to put in words but if you read up the confessions page (NUSwhispers) regularly you would see many complaints that the mod is structured not as neatly as CS1010S its quite here and there everywhere and personal opinion, sometimes i dont know what i am supposed to learn but i guess its like that? The profs seem to value not wanting to spoonfeed and us learning on our own and stuff like that. I heard the mod was much harder in previous years and they simplified it a lot compared to in the past (which i really thank god) but its still a bit ?? They split it into two halves, first half of the sem is taught by Dr ST (Descriptive Analytics) and the next half by DO (Prescriptive and Predictive Analytics).

There are online videos to be watched every week even though you get lectures once every 2 weeks when Dr ST teaches and tutorials to be submitted to your TAs that are graded only after about 6/7 weeks. They leave comments (½ sentences someitmes shorter) and your marks received and thats about all so you dont really know where you went wrong since they are not marked paper and pen way. The tutorials are coding exercises for questions using the R language. They also used Datacamp to drill some of the basics of R for a headstart. Her workshop style lectures are a lot of on the spot learning how to code and stuff which i lag behind a bit because she goes a bit fast in order to cover everything. We learn new content via the online videos that we have to watch every week and theres quizzes for them too weekly iirc.

The next half by DO had no online videos (great!! and no quizzes!!) but weekly lectures and graded tutorials are due every 2 weeks(!!). There are still weekly tutorials but its only graded for every 2nd one, wow this saved me a lot of time phew. I didnt get to do the tutorials for those that are not graded but read through the questions so that i get a gist of whats going on, and somehow i really dont have the time to do it? CS1010S really absorbed a large chunk of my time cries. Finals was a oK it was not that bad i think. There are 20 MCQs and then about 4 structured questions? Closed-book with 1 A4 sheet cheatsheet.

Oh and the bad part about the tutorials are the tutors wont provide you with the model answers/codes so you’re really just on your own. You either get it or nah. :_D

GER1000 Quantitative Reasoning

Weightage:

1. Tutorial — 10%

2. 10 Weekly Quizzes — 20%

3. Project —35% (Presentation 10%, Final Report 25%)

4. Finals (28 MCQs, 2h) — 35%

No lectures so no profs, just weekly online videos and quizzes.

Tutorials are every odd/even weeks depending on the slot you chose.

Groups are arranged by the TAs beforehand.

This was pre-allocated for us so (grits teeth). Honestly a waste of time. One of the mods i neglected till the end to focus on other mods (which was worth it). The workload was manageable, of course (if not how to neglect). Every 2 week you meet together wiht your groupmates to discuss tutorial questions (each group will discuss 1 qn) and every tutorial class ended about 30min earlier. Nearing the end theres a group project report and slides to be done. Report is in the form of QnA so you just answer the questions and slides/ presentation is going through an article of a topic you chose (theres about 10) and you analyse the QR part of it what is good what can be better, etc. Theres also a bit of the stats part with probability and stuff but its a OK. Bell curve steep for finals (40 MCQ, 2h) but most finished in 1h and left the hall, i was one of the few who stayed till the end even though i was just staring at the paper into the depths of my soul for reasons unknown) It’s a lot about experiments not really the scientific/ calculations part of it but understanding about coming up with experiments, the pros and cons of carrying things out a certain way in loose terms something like the art of crafting experiments? makes you think a bit deeper how and what people think and not so dry i guess.

i guess thats a wrap–new semester starts soon :( i think this might be the first module/semester review tumblr blog but i hope this can be of help to anyone, to anyone at all. the owner of many of similar review blogs get really stellar results which i may be too out of league from so i hope this brings comforts to those who are doing not so well and encourage them because im not any different we exist, and we’ll survive.

If You’re Broke, Stop Scrolling & Read This!

I keep seeing what seems like a trend on here....people that are broke are just sitting around and accepting their life and aren’t making changes. I’m here to offer a few tips to you guys because YOU DON’T HAVE TO SETTLE WITH BEING BROKE AF! I’m not even joking, being broke/poor is not fucking fun && no one has to go through life living that way. You will need a mindset shift && I’m hoping this post can do that for at least one person.

1. Your friends- If you have friends that are broke, drop them. If ya’ll sit around all day not doing shit, fucking around, acting stupid on snap, relaxing and shit, drop them. There is this saying that goes something like “ Your income will be the average of the 5 people you are around the most” that shit is true and guess what....that includes family members too. If you want to become rich, you need to find rich friends, and you know what, it isn’t hard at all. As far as family goes, I’m not telling you to cut your family members off....but maybe give them less of your time. If you have a friend or family member that is always broke and asking for shit, do not feel obligated to help them JUST CUT TIES WITH THEM.

If you want tips on how and where to find successful, rich, productive friends, literally google “how to find rich friends” ,“where to find rich friends” or something similar. If you need any help, inbox me.

2. Your Mindset- Fucking change it! Seriously, stop being so fucking negative. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SETTLE FOR ANYTHING IN LIFE! YOU CAN DO JUST ABOUT WHATEVER YOU WANT! YOU CAN BE WEALTHY! I’ll give book recommendations to help with this. Listen, its time to stop thinking white people are the only ones “with money”. You need to know that you can have the things you want just like “them”. Go ahead and get on google (when you finish this post) and look up “law of attraction” just to get a general understanding if you’re not familiar with it.

3. FUCKING READ!- This is so important! Guys, I have a friend (associate now but we were BFFs in high school) that will be 30 this month. She has one child and lives between her grandmother’s and mom’s houses. She drives a car she doesn’t like and she works a minimum wage job as a cashier/ stock person. I’m definitely not judging her but the way she lives should not be how anyone that is damn near 30 should. Anyway, I only brought her up to mention that a few years ago when I was into flipping houses I told her to read a book that changed my life and her response was “Girl, naw, I ain’t tryna read no books, I don’t want no shit dats gonna change my mind n shit”. BITCH WTF!!! The problem IS your (her) mindset! You think the self made rich got there by keeping the same mindset they’ve always had? You think they got their by cashiering? You think they got there without reading? HELL NO! READING IS ESSENTIAL, I really don’t even know why I didn’t make it number one tbh.

There’s another saying/quote that I was told used to be said “back in the day” it goes something like “If you want to hide something from a nigg** put it in a book because they don’t read anyway”......and sadly. most people (not only black) haven’t read since high school. NOT TALKING ABOUT READING FICTIONAL BOOKS TO PASS THE TIME EITHER! I’m talking about self help, business,finance and personal growth books. This is so important, I really can’t stress this enough.

If you wake up and log onto social media immediately, FUCKING STOP AND READ INSTEAD.

IF YOU JUMP IN THE CAR AND START LISTENING TO MUSIC, FUCKING LISTEN TO A BOOK INSTEAD, AT LEAST FOR A PORTION OF THE RIDE!

Look, social media won’t do shit for you unless you’re using it for marketing. Oh and guess what.....that music you’re listening to every time you hop in the car, those singers and rappers are already rich and aren’t doing shit for you. So stop waking up and doing meaningless shit....READ a book instead.

And I bet, if you ask any self made rich folks how they spend their days, they will mention reading....even if they read books for pleasure now, they’ll tell you that they used to read about business,self help, finance etc when they were still broke and building their business.

Conclusion: Fucking read, get new friends and work on changing your outlook on life. If you find yourself broke af but you and you friends are smoking weed all day or riding around your city not doing shit YOU JUST MAY want to follow the instructions in this post.

What things make you smile and all warm-fuzzy inside? CATS no seriously, i can have the worst day, but when i walk home and get to pet a cat on the way, i instantly better. i remember coming home after my last final exam all upset and a cat meowing at me and purring and wanting to cuddle with me and i couldn’t help but smile!

What things make you feel a bit sad (don’t push yourself to answer this one)? my current family situation, there’s a bit of drama and fights going on.

What things inspire you to grow? anything and everything, to be honest. there’s new things you experience and learn every single day. things you conquer and master just fine and mistakes you make and all of them shape you into knowing what to do next time a bit more.

The last song(s) that you couldn’t stop listening to? i can’t really think of anything right now, uhhhh, i’ve been listening to the trust me durarara!! ending lately again haha

5. Are you an introvert/extrovert/ambivert? What kind (are you a shy extrovert, super confident introvert, or perhaps a really confused ambivert :0)?: i’m an introvert through and through. i wouldn’t say i’m exceptionally shy nor super confident. i’m somewhere in between. it really depends, around my friends i’m outgoing and cheering and with certain strangers, especially if i know i have to talk with them for literally no longer than 3 minutes right now (i.e. a cashier or someone you walk past) then i’m polite and rather talkative. i just feel exhausted even after spending a lot of time with friends, though the time was enjoyable, but i need my alone time for sure.

What calms you down? the triangle breath! it’s my favorite method to use whenever i feel anxious, upset, angry, or just need to stop and pause for a few minutes. you picture a triangle in your mind (you can even trace it with your finger, or if you can draw it on a piece of paper). you take a breath in through your nose, tracing one side of the triangle. then you breathe out through your mouth, tracing the second and third side of it. other than that, listening to music, taking a nap, petting a cat, watching videos of cats or other cute stuff, sometimes playing a video game.

A character that you really relate to (perhaps you have similar personalities, or maybe you came from similar backgrounds)?: this is gonna sound trashy, but saeyoung choi from mystic messenger and there’s a story behind it too. my friends were playing it way before me and told me “there’s this character that looks just like you, you know nerd glasses, messy red hair, always wearing a baggy black hoodie. he even acts like you, making puns and using memes ALL THE TIME!” and it’s true lmao. also, kaneki ken to some extent? like i really resonate with his personality, the choices he makes, his thoughts speak to me, he’s pretty harsh on himself and goes through ways that are self destructive if he can help others with it.

One thing you love learning? language, it’s just fascinating to me.

Angst or fluff? ANGST, I AM THE ANGST QUEEN, COME ON

If you punch yourself, does that mean you’re strong or does that mean you’re weak? neither and a little bit of both at the same time. let’s go deep in on this one and take the “punch” as emotional self loathing. bashing yourself down definitely doesn’t mean you’re strong, it doesn’t make you tough at all, it only means you’re harsh on yourself. it doesn’t make you weak either. you’re making yourself believe you are weak, but the fact that you endure that and still have the power to do so, means you’re tougher than you’re think.
