It's so easy to let the mind control you. It will take all its focus and put in in the things that have happened and might happen. That way you will constantly be in a state of regret of the past or anxious for the future. It's soo simple to just see what's in front of you and enjoy the present moment as is but it sure isn't easy. Then again it's not the things you have to do that are difficult, it's more about not doing the things that don't serve you. It's just a constant compulsion to throw rocks in the lake to see the waves forming. Yes you cannot control the waves and ripples that are already being formed but you can stop throwing the rocks. And when you do that and peacefully just observe the waves, they start to disappear. True happiness lies within. We often chase happiness in things or experiences or even people but that is just a temporary feeling of pleasure. Happiness, the true happiness is the feeling of joy. Joy that comes from contentment. That contentment can never come by chasing something external. It can only come from accepting that you are enough, that you are worthy of your love and respect despite all your flaws. It comes from loving yourself exactly the way you are.
