We humans have that tendency to desire the impossible. Our desires have this innate potential to counter our destinies. Why do we do that? Why do we always seek the unattainable gem/ that obvious misstep/ that inviting slip up? There is nothing wrong with setting ambition high. Aiming the zenith is confidence much needed. However, with that confidence, we should invite an aura of acceptance. The night blooming moonflower can always desire to dance a duet with the roses, but it should also embrace the fact that ‘the desire is a chimaera of impossibility’. Desire translates as a struggle, yes! Struggles translate into scars, the prickly pears that augment your beauty, so alluring. Struggles are essential. It is during the time of absolute downfall that one finds the grace of love, the grace of wisdom, a touché of their inner spirit, a dab of their wilderness, their strength of thoughts and words and deeds. We are in our worst state, exploring the best during struggles. It is life! And a wise soul will hold acceptance closer to the heart to traverse the lane of poise. I am choosing to practise acceptance and embrace the nature of the inner desire – if it’s tangible or not…. Mistakes – that ceaseless entity that never forgets to inflict at least the slightest turmoil at every point of life. It is omnipresent. Mistakes like the ‘ability to breathe’ is common to every human being. I lost track of ‘the Argh!’ moments in my life. The irony is one doesn’t remember the past mistakes all the time. This entity – this treacherous shadow comes into focus only during the most lonely, the most depressing times. I cannot fathom to bring out an explanation on why the mind shows such vehemence towards one’s soul. I am just tired with my mind’s play with a gush of bad memories from the past when my soul is sinking in the gloom. I wish the duality just vanishes and mind-soul becomes one entity so that they can rejoice each other’s presence. Well! That’s not going to happen. What can happen is that – we humans can learn to forget those mistakes that are regretful and hurting. We can grow towards embracing those glitches and grace a path where we would never ever attempt to touch that error again. To do that – it is essential for us to fondle over a variable named calmness. Autumn is around the corner - the changes will become apparent in few weeks. The leaves are going to change colours sooner. They will go from green to red/yellow/ orange until their dried up branches cannot hold them anymore. Then they will wither from the trembling branches - falling to the ground - resting on the empty streets to be swept away by those that clean the street. Swept away and bundled, they are burned - raising as ashes - travelling with the northern winds that brought their fall in the first place. What are your life goals? 24 years of existence in this world and I don’t have a definite answer for the question. ‘Follow your passion’ – that advice is everywhere. Graduation ceremonies, guest-lectures, motivational speeches do not move on without stressing on it. It’s all over the internet. It almost seems that the phrase is omnipresent. As I hear so many people preach about establishing passion as a career, the quest towards comprehending ‘what my passion is’ began daunting me. And I realized. Wait! I never have an ideal passion. To all those stuffing the idea of passion and thinking about it each moment: What is the deal when there is no definite passion? If someone tells me ‘passion is something that you would love to do’: then I never had a singular passion. Oh, wait! I think I am passionate about finding an ideal passion itself. If you are so adamant in finding that one life-goal, realise that passion can be an accumulation of thoughts/ ideas. Restricting life to one corner may bring more harm than good. If you don’t have a passion/ have multiple passions at the same time, join me. That’s completely normal I guess. If you do have a passion, that’s great. Stay connected with your passion but never make it a lifestyle: unless you are super patient, super talented (pose some unique talent that could rush you to the spotlight), adaptable and does not depend on monthly paychecks. You are the only one who is going to be there for you always and it’s important to take your mind to places, soothing, to give it the peace to function better. The greatest gifts are already in your possession and it just needs some time of self-reflection to understand the gifts, open the hidden potentials and work towards nurturing the person you are always meant to be.
