Official Warrior Cats Social Media Guidelines

"Respect your fellow community members. Act with care and patience, remember that the Warrior Cats community is vast and made up of people of all ages, from all cultures who live all over the world, and that some people will have different opinions. Be mindful of how you react to those who disagree with you.

We want to hear from you and encourage comments, questions, critiques, and suggestions. But please stay on topic and be respectful.

Watch your language. We do not mind the occasional cuss, but we will not tolerate targeted offensive language, hate speech, racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, sexism, religious zealotry, xenophobia, stereotyping, or bigotry of any kind.

Do not threaten another member’s safety and privacy or harass anyone. This includes doxing and misuse of the @ function within the comments section and defamatory, vulgar, inappropriate language within responses to other community members.

Be authentic. Please ensure comments are not dishonest, deceptive, or misleading, in violation of the intellectual property right of another or in violation of any law or regulation.

We may use your comments/posts. By commenting on our posts or tagging us in on our social media channels, you understand that your posts may be used by us on our other social media channels and the Warrior Cats website. Do not submit any ideas or images you wish to keep confidential or expect compensation for. In addition, when you post in any of our social media channels, your name, profile image and social media handle will be visible and associated with your post and if we re-use your post elsewhere, we may display your name, profile image, and handle there as well.

You must be at least 13 years old to participate. If you are a minor in your jurisdiction (but at least 13), please do not post your comment without the knowledge and permission of a parent or legal guardian. If you are an adult, and your post contains the name or likeness of a minor, you must be the parent or legal guardian of that minor.

"The Warrior Cats social media team has the right to monitor all comments and content and to reject or remove any inappropriate or offensive content, or anything that is in violation of the above guidelines, and the right to block the user. On both Instagram and TikTok we use filters to automatically hide obscenities and will also use our own discretion to hide/delete comments that go against these guidelines. Our social media channels are moderated daily all year round, with reduced hours on weekends and holidays. If you have questions, need support, or guidance we always aim to respond. If you see something that does not seem right, or that makes you feel uncomfortable, please try and make us aware if you feel able to do so."

I take a liberal approach to what qualifies as drag, but the tl;dr of it is that my criteria for whether a performance is drag are: queerness (the essential ingredient!), performativity, emphasis on visual cohesion, a strong sense of irony/affinity for the deviant (from queer to queer y'know) and last but not least if it would be really funny to categorize them as a drag artist

i feel like the tiktokification of the concept of art styles has resulted in people skipping learning anatomy/color theory/composition/pretty much every basic skill in order to try to copy some artist's work they saw

#as general guideline: u should understand how to draw fairly realistic anatomy before u stylize it #because if u don't understand how to draw something its not rlly a stylistic choice if it looks unrealistic its just anatomically wrong #also please learn shading/color theory/lighting as well #it'll improve your work by leaps and bounds be able to incorporate eye-pleasing colors and correct lighting #also try to develop your own styles rather than just learning how to mimic whatever's doing well on social media #anyway art rant cuz im bored #ghoul groans

I decided to read those Facebook guidelines recently just out of curiosity. Well... apparently if you keep over-socializing aka overposting, you end up in Facebook Jail from between either 3 days, to 6 days and then something like a month. Zuckerberg is being so dystopian with his stupid rules and algorithm bots. This has been the experience for me so far at least.

After reading over the newest guideline update, it is so on-brand of Tumblr to take a good idea — ending the porn ban and fully implementing their new content flag feature — and do it in the most convoluted and questionable way possible; keeping porn both banned and unbanned in some bizarre Schrodinger’s Cat-esque situation where sexual content is allowed and not allowed at the same time with no real explanation of what is and isn’t acceptable so you’ve presumably just gotta gamble and see whether Tumblr judges your nsfw post as a “goodie” or a “baddie”.

this falls into ‘if everyone would just’ venting so don’t take it too seriously but it severely irks me when people are addressing a specific problem from a specific population and do so in a completely ineffective way, you’re not talking to the people this relates to you’re talking to yourself. that’s fine but effective rhetoric is understanding an audience and tailoring your argument to what is most effective against them, not what would be most effective against you. pathos, logos, ethos, whatever the fuck. all communication is manipulation and you are not putting nearly enough effort into manipulation.

I can't find a helpful query about this to google so here it goes: why do report systems on social media have categories?

Like, if I report someone for hate speech here on Tumblr, but what they're actually breaking is the explicit content rule, is the team in charge of reviewing just gonna ignore it?

Wouldn't you get more accurate reports if there were people whose job is to categorize the reported posts? And why categorize them at the reporting stage at all? If you want statistics, it would make sense for the moderator who took action on the post to choose a category, no?
