So maybe I never got an owl carrying an acceptance letter to hogwarts. I still got my letter into the wizarding world.

I got it when first opened the first book.

I got it when I watched my first hp movie.

I got it when my friends and I pretended we were wizard dueling with sticks in the schoolyard.

I got it when a fanfic brought me to tears.

I got it when a parody made me laugh so hard my belly hurt.

I got it when I found people I could count on, no matter the distance between us.

I got it when people chose to stand up for what's right against what brought them together in the first place.

Here's to all of us who never got a hogwarts letter. We got something way better in return

after watching over his son for years, James Potter was struck with an idea. a Brilliant idea. one that he's sure would work. after consulting his best friends, they spent days writing scripts and rehearsing. then the day came. it was regulus' birthday. you see, james' boyfriend missed out on watching over harry and had always regretted it. in the early hours of the morning, when the sun still hid beneath the horizon, regulus would whisper to james about how they could've been a happy family with harry. this broke james' heart. SO for regulus' birthday, james worked with the marauders, the valkyries, and the slytherin skittles to create 'A Very Potter Musical', a dramatised comedy version of harry's hogwarts experience. he knew this would be perfect; it would let regulus see what he missed and, to be honest, cheer him up a bit. james would play harry, sirius would play ron, lily would play hermione, and their other friends were cast too. even severus played himself. it was an Event. it was Brilliant. regulus laughed, cried, and smiled through the entire performance, unable to look away from his favourite people's ridiculous singing and dancing. it was a day regulus would remember forever. he told harry about it many years later. harry had laughed, his smile bright within his wrinkled face.

The part in AVPS where Snape randomly pretends to mistake Lupin for Hagrid gets way funnier when you remember that Brian Holden would go on to play Hagrid as well.

Snape wasn’t making a joke he was just seeing into the future.

(Not to mention the other part where Lupin mentions his best friend and someone guesses “Hagrid?” Two Lupin and Hagrid jokes in one musical—coincidence or foreshadowing??)

Okay well as you may know from looking at my blog for five seconds, I saw the matinee for Starkid Innit. During the interval and after the show I wrote down some notes. I tried to get them in chronological order but my memory is dogshit and I definitely missed some stuff, I hope you appreciate it though.

. COREY SINGING SHOW STOPPIN' NUMBER. OH MY GOD. (The entire crowd joined in, also, Jeff and Jaime as Steve and Stu)

. Everyone cheering so loud when Joey and Lauren came on stage, and them claiming we had no idea what they were going to sing, and it was actually a completely new song (it was Granger Danger obviously)

. And them continuing to claim it was new throughout the song

. As I expected, I almost cried during Not Alone. Also apparently Darren thought it was going to be a big hit??? And just begrudgingly let them use it for A Very Potter Musical

. So sad Jeff’s mic was so quiet for “I WANNA BE A MODERN DANCER”

. THEY SUNG WANNABE BY THE SPICE GIRLS

. The fakeout of everyone leaving stage, then the band coming back on and playing the start of Goin' Back To Hogwarts

. Singing (/ shouting) Goin' Back To Hogwarts along with hundreds of other Starkid fans was so exhilarating, I loved it and I almost cried (also I'm gonna be so hoarse tomorrow)

Izzy’s side

She didnt know how long she had been staring at the sky for. Every star took her breath away, every single time. Knowing her mother was up there looking down on her and smiling. A glimmer in the sky to the northeast made a crystalline tear slide down her cheek and become solid, disappearing into the leaves on the forest floor. “Hi Mum. I miss you too.” 

As Izzy continued to stare as a sharp lupine howl, louder than any she’s ever heard broke her trance-like state and caused her head to whip around in that direction. That was close by. Very close  by. 

Izzy took a deep breath and slowly began floating towards the sound of the noise. Getting closer and closer. She found cover behind a large decrepit structure and watched from the shadows as a large furry creature was hunched over against a tree. Having been sliced from looked like a fight with a bear. 

The beast panted, clearly in shock but also to conserve blood. It was injured pretty badly. The Starkid’s heart ached seeing a creature in pain, even one as terrifying as this. She had no medical supplies to think of and she couldnt just leave it to die. 

She had to do something. unfortunately the beast spotted the glowing woman and gave a warning growl. 

“Easy boy.” Izzy spoke calmly. “I’m gonna find you some water. Okay? I promise I'm not going to hurt you.” 

She slipped inside the structure looking for anything that could hold water and perhaps a rag or something. 

She found an old shirt hanging off a railing and a weird glass bowl and quickly floated back to the lake to gather water. The beast was still there when she returned. 

Another warning growl. “Easy, You’re hurt pretty bad. Please just let me help you…” 

The beast swatted at her and took off, deeper into the woods.
