Had lots of fun with this especially how I feel like I've finally taken a breath of fresh air after getting burnout from linework and sketching, so thank you for making me think long and hard for a couple of days on how i wanted to do this, the limitations and challenge you've given for this dtiys was headache inducing in a good way that I'd always welcome, since it's helping me improve and have fun. So thank you and congratulations again!

Now let's talk about the illustration itself, the inspiration came from when we were tasked to act, aka theater. From that one thing it set off all alarms in my head that THAT was the one! So I went with that and began thinking of other words, "Dramatic, Dynamic, Tragic, continuation and Symbolisms etc. And with the words now chosen my brain began to visualize exactly what I wanted, and ofc the original art as my base, taking the pose and making it as dramatic as possible while still retaining the original pose but making it feel after it's the continuation ofc inspired by your reply "nah it's not already in him (unless u want it to be lmao)" so took your words and ran with it! XD

Plunging that knife into Cole's heart and ripping out that same knife to create something beautiful.

The Lilies and Spider lilies, I wanted them in illustration as symbolism of sorts, I've never been good with symbolisms but still wanted to try em. (By google definition) Lilies mean life while ofc Spider lilies means death, in the illustration i tried to make the lilies on Cole transition into spider lilies, as well as the petals on blood trail towards Jay's knife while there’s a actually blood dripping down going pass the spider lilies and lastly the petals that are drifting upwards towards the stage light is presumed to be.

Since I've taken theater as inspiration ofc i really wanted make sure that the lighting gave what i wanted it to give, while it also became a challenge for since i realized that lighting and shadows were one of the things i lack so again thank you @zaptrap for making this dtiys because not only was it fun but gave me a milestone that i wanted to achieve which is to improve on understanding with lights and shadows and i have achieved it subsequently thanks to this dtiys!

Now you might've noticed Jay's design. It's actually because when waiting for the references I already started doing the illustration. Since i didn't wanna burn out my overload of motivation with doing nothing.

And this is the illustration 3hrs in. As you can see Jay would've looked completely different and wouldn't have any no parts of his face showing because I thought that literally half of his face was metal xD the thing on his chest would've been different, no metal parts going down his abdomen, no belt, and the boots. So for his design here i did change some aspects of it like the chest part and a lil bit on the boots and ofc giving Jay's face back, but kept some of what i originally drew which is not adding the metal parts on the abdomen and keeping the ribbon belt and mixed the boot with some parts of Jay's shoes in the references. I kept these because i thought it add to the compassion and overall flow of the piece especially the ribbon belt (I don't know what they're already called but i need something to differentiate them 😭) because without it it feels to much empty space that the drifting petals wouldn't be able to fill in as I wanted it to.

Anywho again congratulations @zaptrap ! I really REALLY had fun with this and I hope this piece makes you feel rewarded for reaching the milestone of 1k because you deserve em mate!

Fifth House

I'm hearing "hypervigilance". Maybe people with this placement could not be fond of social gatherings or crowds of people that they don't know because it tends to always result in someone offending them or overstepping their boundaries. Romance and sex could be a muse for what these Natives create. A lot of you could be into writing eroticas or making erotic art that have a high potential for generating a lot of wealth. I'm seeing a push and pull, where if you're not being a heartbreaking Casanova, then it's you being heartbroken by your romantic interest(s). I feel like this placement could indicate being pulled into love triangles or situations where someone feels strongly for you, but you don't feel the same way about them. You could be always searching for a new hobby to take interest in or not tied to the same methods of where to seek fun, which could be reckless at times because I'm seeing that you guys could maybe bargain and take risks a lot to experience something for the thrill. Aphrodite in the 5H, could also increase the probability of having twins for children or raising a large family.

Sixth House

Natives with Aphrodite in the 6th house could want absolute control over their daily endeavors and could be deemed as very picky. I feel like these individuals are the type to prefer their own home cooked meals, from scratch, with careful precision on where they get their ingredients from. They prioritize having a stable and comfortable lifestyle and could attract the best of the best when it comes to finding the right person to service their needs. Luxury is again, subjective, but I feel that these individuals are able to obtain high quality things and refuse to settle for anything less. A dirty bathroom could be one of their top pet peeves. The way that they live and how they carry themselves could provoke a lot of envy in others or the way that Natives with Aphrodite in the 6th house, pride themselves could be offensive to others. It may look like you're being a snob, but you guys are just very comfortable with what you're familiar with and are particular about how you're being catered to. The roles can also sometimes be reversed, you could be offended by people who suggest that you make a certain change in the way that you do stuff.

Seventh House

In your close relationships, you could be showered with love, affection, and attention. Natives with this placement could be viewed as very dreamy and euphoric by their romantic interests, but there's this distance here that makes them feel like you're unobtainable. I think of this placement as the painting that illustrates the birth of Aphrodite, where she's standing on a clam shell in the middle of the ocean with people surrounding her. You're the center of attention in your love interests' lives, it's almost as if you steal them in a way from their own personal endeavors as you powerfully draw them in while they simultaneously could go to extreme lengths trying to intimately reach you. Seduction is truly an art form for the Natives with this placement. They have very vixen-like auras, high potential of becoming sex symbols, but also prone to being sexualized unwarranted. Ninth House

Aphrodite in the 9th house could indicate successfully charming others to reform their mindset about a philosophy or religion and to let go of traditionalism. These individuals are likely to become major figures that people seek for insight and direction to understanding what their own beliefs are or the epitome of a religion. However, this placement seems exhausting for these Natives because they could be heavily projected on or put on a very high pedestal that they didn't ask for. This could also indicate attracting people with cult-like behavior. They may abhor closed practices, closed minded people, or closed marriages. They could also be prone to polytheism. Natives with this placement could be highly drawn to traveling to places where there's a lot of water. Twelfth House

This placement reminds me a lot of the malice Aphrodite had towards Psyche. You could have experienced a lot of heartbreaking betrayal relating to cheating or people trying to cheat you out of what's yours. You could even deal with a bunch of one-sided competition. This, to me, is similar to Aphrodite in the 1st house, there's a divine beauty that these Natives carry that's not seen with the naked eye, but is quietly yet heavily admired unlike the 1H placement. These individuals flourish in their own solitude and benefit more when they worship themselves instead of worshipping others but they could often restrain from this by choosing stay humble. Despite their humility, they could have a significant amount of secret admirers that create artistic tributes for them. People could also be prone to fantasizing about you a lot.

Like if he realizes he 'accidentally' missed one he will start his crazy kisses all over again before you can even protest (and you will, I just know some of them are disgustingly wet sometimes)

To catch his attention, you need to stand out to him first. If not while playing soccer then something from your appearance (could be hair, a tattoo, or in this case, your beauty marks) or even certain actions

LOVES staring at the ones on your face randomly or when he wants a reaction out of you

If he doesn't get as strong of a reaction out of you from his staring like he hoped, don't be surprised to feel a pair of lips on your face where one of your beauty marks are if you turned away from him and him saying/whispering one of his terms of endearment for you (in german!) before pulling away and looking at you again with his smug face (Do not be fooled by this, I really do dislike Kaiser)

Which reminds me, his more popular names for you are Schätzchen/Schatzi (both mean "Little Treasure", but I think Schätzchen can also mean something else, so I just put both), Spatzi (Little Sparrow), and sometimes Liebe (Love). No, it doesn't matter if you are taller than him, he will still include the "little" part of the name

He really does love your beauty marks as much as he loves you, there is literally no doubting it and he won't even let you say anything bad about them, let alone anyone else (seriously, dude gets scarily serious when you do, I would be scared for the person that said something bad about your beauty marks)

He loves kissing them even more though, he does it teasingly sometimes, but you can tell when they are loving without the teasing in them just from how he is kissing them

Constantly praising your beauty and emphasizes how your beauty marks are included in that praise no matter what

I think something missing from this discussion is the fact that enstars as a whole places its characters under some form of an archetype or (external, internal) assumption/limitation, and then allows the character to break free. this also adds on to the grander scheme of akira incorporating and then breaking the pre-established harmony (leibniz's philosophical theory about causation under God, which is named across various ES stories & even song lyrics. though in our case, God could be taken as author and audience. how this manifests in the enstars world is a more nuanced subject I won't address here).

so, yes, eichi fits under archetypes himself, and this is done on purpose. however, he breaks away from both the 'powerful cartoony student council antagonist' and the 'sad & pathetic lonely rich boy' by existing in a balance (or paradox) of both willful cruelty and innocence. he's a coldly refined high-class boy with fine-tuned mannerisms, and also a stupid teenager with a terrible sense of humour and a knack for making puns that nobody laughs at. he's a neglected and helpless little boy in a cold hospital room, and also someone who was capable of weaving and dealing a tidal wave of pain so massive it could break and reform people's lives. he is a rational pillar, raised to be the caricature of a pure-bred conglomerate heir in an uptight old money family, and he is one of the most unstable and self-deluded characters in the whole cast. he has a deranged, almost monstrous will to stay alive and warp the world as he sees fit, to be an author and a protagonist, and yet he is brutally fragile and plagued by so much guilt and shame that, at times, he'd rather erase himself from the script altogether.

there's a million more examples I could give for his contradictory nature, but it boils down to this: perpetually, eichi is a compass pointing in two opposite directions, and the only thing holding him together at the seams is love: the one he carries and the one he receives in turn. love, as paradoxically and as universally human as ever, keeps him alive and destroys him to the core.

all I'm doing is barely scratching one inch of the surface, and yet I still get terribly sad when he gets boiled down to or described as "the sick rich guy who was into a theater kid and started a war :P" when he is so much more. he is an antagonist, a protagonist, an author, a puppet and a stage actor. he is a narrative microcosm, and I think he can offer so much to any reader who takes the time and care to reach a hand out to him!

I almost didnt want to publish this after reading and rereading it, i think you put it all so beautifully. But i need to post it so hopefully more people will see and reconsider their perception of eichi. A truly beautiful ask to end the night with

MORE FAMILY INTERACTIONS

There are plenty of new ways to interact with all the members of your family and lots of new content for different age groups. Most Sim Elders enjoy a good power walk around the park, a puzzle at the Recreation Center, or their role as caretaker of the family Keepsake Box. They're the best at Giving Life Lessons, Reminiscing on Good Times, and sneaking treats. Sometimes they even have a favorite grandchild! Speaking of grandchildren...

Toddlers are getting quite the update in this pack. As with Infants, we are adding 18 discoverable Toddler Quirks that change a Toddler’s behavior. These are discovered over time and make each Toddler unique, beyond their traits! Some examples include: Aggressive, Picky Eater, Early Riser, Little Singer, Good Appetite, Loves Water, Hates Bedtime, Loves being Carried and more.

Children also are getting a lot of attention! For the first time, Children have received four new Aspirations: Slumber Party Animal, Mind and Body, Playtime Captain and Creative Genius. With all the new content for kids in this pack (the Treehouse, Splash Pad, Bike, Sleeping Bag, Slumber Parties, Friendship Bracelets, and more) there's plenty to aspire towards. Just make sure to keep their confidence high! Or don't, but we know you'd never hurt a child's confidence. Right. Riiight? Because just like lost teeth, Childhood Confidence is also an aspect of growing up that every Child Sim faces in this pack!

GROWTH IN MILESTONES

Through Sims’ experiences and relationships, players will begin to encounter Milestones, which will provide a way of showing players their Sims’ current growth, as well as their lifelong touchstones that continue to impact them as they age. So I moved the other of the chapters because I needed this part first than the next one 🤭 celebrating @zablife piscean season in this chapter, with special thanks to @forgottenpeakywriter for the moodboard!

“Is something wrong with the photographer we hired for the previous play?” Heidi asked confused after hearing Enda changed the plans.

“Cillian can do it, he’s got a good eye, even signed up for a professional photography workshop, isn’t that right?”

Heidi was in shock. “What?!” This wasn’t a school play.

“Yeah I took a course a while ago, I do it because I like it and if you think I can-”

“You can and you own me so many favors, it’s the least you can do.”

Heidi didn’t need any more stress so she decided to walk backstage to take a look at the scenography. But as Cillian and Enda followed her, they found the cast singing the Happy Birthday to Lee.

“Thank you guys so much for this beautiful surprise.” She was touched by the love she was getting.

“First of all, happiest of birthdays,” stated Enda moving past the people “secondly why do I smell chocolate?”

“Marianne baked brownies!” Lee answered with excitement.

Enda adjusted his glasses on his nose. “Oh! That’s wonderful.”

Cillian joined the group to give Lee a hug and wish her the best, then he turned to face his friend. “You won’t complaint then? See? She’s your favorite.” He stated pointing at Marianne.

“He can’t stand chocolate.” Heidi clarified to the group, winking at the leading role.

“Sorry, I didn’t know… I asked Lee for a few options of desserts she liked.”

“Nah, don’t worry really.”

Cillian and Heidi laughed thinking how different it would’ve been if it was them instead of Marianne.

“That means I get two brownies.” He chuckled accepting the napkin Marianne offered him. “Right? You baked really?”

“I did, from scratch.” She answered proudly with a smile.

“You didn’t add the special ingredient, did you?” He squinted his eyes and lowered his voice. “Are you going to get us all high?”

Marianne looked at him scandalized. “Of course not!” But then she laughed just as he did.

Cillian focused on the flavor, taking in every single bite. “Next time you make these, don’t share, I won’t tell them you brought more.” He pleaded enjoying the fudgy texture in his mouth. “So good.”

“As if we get an exclusive contract of brownies?”

Cillian took the last bite, wishing the taste could last longer. “Just like that.”

“Thank you so much for that, best brownies ever.” Lee joined them sitting on the edge of the stage.

Their friendship was something that words couldn’t explain, Marianne and Lee simply clicked, it was as if they had known each other for a long time, reconnecting somewhere down the road. It just bloomed.

One day after their rehearsal, Lee took her on a tour around the city, showing her some of the most famous places around… and of course Lee was teaching her some Irish words she might need. Marianne even asked Lee to move her things to her dressing room, that way she wouldn’t be alone and Lee wouldn’t be sharing it with the other girls all tight in a small room.

“You saved the extras, right?” Marianne asked wrapping one arm around her shoulders, Lee had been helping her with some of the questions she thought that were silly or embarrassing to ask, she also had a lot to learn from Lee because her experience in theater was impressive.

“You gave her more brownies?” Cillian asked pretending to be offended.

“Hey, she’s the birthday girl she needs extra to take back home.”

Then Cillian leaned in front of Marianne towards Lee to whisper: “forgiven, just because it’s going to be your birthday.”

“Alright, let’s do this, general lecture from the start.” Enda called everyone and motioned the actors to move chairs around.

“I got you something too,” Marianne told him, looking for something in her bag. “Now you’ve at least something different to cook.”

Cillian stared at the book she was giving him; a 365 cookbook guide.

It took him several seconds to be able to look at Marianne, it was the meaning behind the gift; she listened to the things that worried him, and not only that, she was providing a solution to one of the many problems he was facing. Sure, a cook book wasn’t going to solve his life or help him grief, that wasn’t her intention.

It was just more than that.

“Thank you.” Was all he could reply.

As they took a break from the rehearsal, some of the actors decided to go out for a smoke, or a quick run to the bathroom. Marianne decided to start working on one of her assignments of the week, she needed to read a book and make an essay of it plus a presentation with the most important bits.

Lee was taking the opportunity to ask someone to take pictures of her with the balloons and brownies, she was just too good both in front and behind a camera, and even better on stage.

Cillian felt a bit out of place, all of the actors and actresses were quite younger than him and although he technically wouldn’t be on stage with the rest of the cast, but he would say his lines as the narrator from a cabin, he quietly made his way towards Marianne. He felt at ease around her, comfortable, she didn’t make him feel awkward or aware of his age, or his grief, not even of his “fame”. It was so easy to just be him.

“How’s school going?” He chuckled at his own words as he joined her, sitting by her side. “Sorry that sounded like a such a dad thing.” He laughed imagining how his own sons would roll their eyes at him for asking the same thing daily.

“Well, technically you’re.” Marianne looked at him. “And let me tell you how much I admire how well you’re doing it by yourself, it’s not easy.” She had seen how he was always checking on his sons, always worried about what they might need.

Dimples showing from his huge grin. “I try my best, even though sometimes I would love to know what I’m doing.” Shifting on his seat, he turned to face her. “But to be honest coming to a new place, accept something like this without being familiar with the theater, on your own far away from your loved ones…it’s so brave of you.”

But she was already shaking her head.

“I’m convinced I’m exactly where I am supposed to be.”

He believed that as well and felt so proud of the big steps Marianne had been taking, everything she had learned so quickly. But it wasn’t really a surprise, she was so dedicated and he could see the compromise she felt towards the play from the first day.

As they were complimenting each other, they saw Enda typing on his phone.

“Hey, I’ve to go… my wife got hit by a cab and her car got a minor damage, but I want to see if I can help with the insurance.” Enda explained, his words coming rushed.

“But she’s alright?” They both asked.

“Yeah, can we move the rehearsal for tomorrow?”

“Don’t worry about it.” Cillian assured him, then looked at Marianne. “I’ll go with him, let Heidi know please.”

It felt so strange to have the rehearsal canceled, but it was understandable, family came first and they could always do extra hours the following day. But that gave Heidi, Lee and Marianne the perfect excuse to head over to the leading’s role flat to celebrate Lee’s upcoming birthday.

“Finally! Nachos night wohoo!” Lee expressed loudly.

“And tequila.” Added Heidi with a big smile, leaving her bag on the couch. “I can’t even remember the last time I had a night off.”

“Mum endless duties, huh?” Marianne turned on the lights, Heidi let a low yeah out and saw her rush to put the dirty dishes in the sink, that morning she left in a hurry and the last thing on her mind was doing the dishes.

“Ah, don’t even worry about it.” Lee brushed it off stepping into the kitchen to open the bags of chips.

“I’m still trying to decorate the place, so the walls are a bit in blank.”

Heidi joined them placing the lemons they bought. “Try to look for things at the thrift store, much cheaper.”

“I love second hand things.” Marianne admitted offering them the dip she talked about for the chips.

“We can go together if you want.” Lee proposed before taking the first taste and making a face of how good it was. “Uhhh it’s spicy!”

“Don’t worry, the margaritas will wash it down.” Heidi laughed handing her a glass of the mix.

Marianne giggled they weren’t even in the first round. “Take it easy with the tequila ladies.”

Heidi brushed it off with a wave of her hand while taking her first sip of the night.

“Tequila es mi Amigo.” She said proudly in Spanish.

“Okay I don’t want your partners blaming me for getting you guys drunk, so I’m making some tacos to balance the booze.”

Heidi and Lee looked at each other. “Tacos!”

And they all cheered, toasting for the friendship that just took off thanks to the play.

“Hey Alex!”

“Hi! Welcome back.”

“How are you doing?”

Marianne saw her roll her eyes dramatically. “Mr. Alex had the fabulous idea of baking banana bread, he insists on adding it to the regular menu, but I’m not sure.”

“Why not?”

“It’s just… I don’t know.” She shuddered. “Forget it, you don’t have to listen to my rambling, the usual?”

“Yes please.” Marianne asked. “And a slice of the banana bread to try it.”

“Don’t let him hear you buying that or he’ll take the pastries away to put the bread there.” Alex joked pointing at the counter.

The café was pretty much deserted at that time, most of the people back in the office or on their way back home, so Alex took the opportunity to have her five minute break, joining Marianne at the corner table, by now she had added a Reserved sign at the time she knew they would be coming.

“What is it? Something’s bothering you.” Alex pointed.

Marianne sighed, dropping her gaze to the table. “I had a phone call with my mum this morning and I was so excited talking about the play and the looks we’ve been trying for the role, and…”

“That didn’t go well?”

A small shook of her head and Marianne looked away, trying to focus on the people passing by the window.

“Hey, I’ve been there… if only I could tell you how many people told me opening my own café wasn’t a good idea, there are so many places already, the mermaid chain is eating the business, blah blah, you name it.” Alex brushed it off waving her hand. “But I trusted my dream and look at this place, just before you arrived it was packed, these are the first minutes I’ve been able to sit down for a while.”

“Thank you for reminding me of that.” Thinking about it yes, there would always be rocks along the way, but she never had anything easy. “Thank you for providing the inspiration I needed.”

“Well, you know where to find me, always up for a cheerful talk and a coffee.” Alex smiled and left her spot to go back to work, as the owner of the café she loved to be involved in everything.

Marianne started working then in one of the assignments of the week, trying to find the balance between dedicating time to her studies and the play, making the most out of every chance she got. Thinking of how to explain her arguments in her essay, she looked outside, the day was beautiful, sunny and clear, people passing by until her eyes found someone familiar, the man who had been encouraging her to trust in her newly discovered talent.

Whistling, he walked past the window next to her hiding his blue eyes from the world behind his classic Ray Bans, a basic black t-shirt and jeans, his serious expression on point as if he was lost deep in his thoughts.

She then found herself in the reflection of the window.

Girl, you couldn't look better

As Cillian walked inside the café, Marianne saw Alex stopping her conversation with the staff, mouth hanging open, she had confessed her heart still skipped a beat every single time he walked into her café, Marianne knew she was a big fan of his work and it was funny to even see her husband teasing Alex about the regular blush Cillian provoked in her.

“Hey, woah you’re busy today.” He pointed out after greeting Marianne with a hug and a kiss on the cheek. The table was full with a heavy book, notebook and several school items.

“Hi… yeah I need to finish this by the end of the week, but I don’t want the rest of my homework to pile up.” She moved her things and started to clear up the table. “Nice haircut.”

Small lines formed around Cillian’s eyes as he smiled shyly. “Yeah? I think the barber was in a bad mood.” He admitted running a hand through his hair. “Shorter than I usually prefer.”

The curls were gone, she noticed. Briefly looking at his forearms, veins standing out as he took the book, but she quickly moved her eyes in the opposite direction.

Call it crazy, and yet, is there anything better than this?

Life just couldn't be better than this

“The secrets of marketing.” Cillian read out loud.

“It’s so interesting, it talks about the power of positioning the product right inside the consumer’s mind and the rest is done like magic.” Marianne explained with a smile.

“Sounds easy.”

“It is.” She assured him battling her eyelashes. “Look at what happened to Kleenex, that’s the name of the brand, not the product but when we need one we don’t ask for tissues, unconsciously we ask for a Kleenex.”

Cillian chuckled realizing it was true.

��I remember during live tv there was a promo for a brand of bread and the man making the advertising got the name of the brand wrong, sure he corrected the name but the mistake was done… the popularity of the other brand went up to the sky, while the other was paying for the ads.”

“That’s a big fuckup.” Cillian shook his head. “Guess more people went to buy the wrong brand after that.”

“Who can resist a free promo?” Marianne was happy to see him interested, sometimes she had to stop talking because people couldn’t understand her passion. “It’s different in the art world… look at Banksy, nobody knows who is he, but when one of his murals is discovered, people can’t stop talking about him.”

“Quite rebel, huh?” He remembered the news making a big deal for one of his paintings and the criticism towards the government. “I really liked the girl with the balloon.”

“He knows how to get people talking, curious to see his next painting or mural.”

He really loved the rich diversity of conversation they could have, Marianne was one of those rare people who wanted to know more about what she ignored, and decided to share those things she knew about.

“Here’s your tea.” Alex approached their table, placing the cup in front of Cillian. He shifted on his seat to take his wallet out, but Alex brushed him off. “It’s already payed for.” She took Marianne’s and left with a smile.

“Thank you, but you didn’t have to.”

“It’s only fair, you’ve helped me a lot, outside the rehearsals schedule free of charge.” She replied taking out her script and notebook, she had a few questions.

“Which reminds me… I’m the one asking you for help now.”

Marianne frowned. “Everything alright?”

“Yeah, yeah… I just- you mentioned you needed to find another job so wanted to ask you if you want to work in my production company, it’s a small team there’s the tech guys, the assistant, accountant and the rest of the team comes and goes.”

“How could I possibly help you? I know nothing about producing.”

Cillian looked at her while sipping on his tea. “A lot, actually.” He scratched his arm nervously. “You would be in charge of the budget and projects.”

She had managed CAPEX before but for companies in different fields.

“I’m taking charge again and I’ve a couple of projects knocking on the door, your financial insight can help me a lot.”

“If you think this is what you need then-”

“It would be a good complement, I mean you can work from home all the time and at your pace so once your done with rehearsals and homework you can dedicate as much time as you need.” Before she could give him an answer, he added: “You’d get a laptop too, so you don’t have to go the campus to borrow one.” He knew she had been going there at night to upload her homework in the library because she sold hers before moving overseas.

Look around you, so many things to do and try

No one's judging and the rules really don't apply

Take a bite of whatever feels right and woah

Yeah, it couldn't taste better

“Why do I feel like I won the lottery when I arrived here? I mean… how can I say no to you? Seriously you could ask me to walk on hot stones and I’d do it.”

“Oh no, I’d never do that.” He chuckled and reminded her of her boss, willing to do anything to keep the talent on his team, he had created a whole new job position for her to stay once she graduated, he was then moved to another area and after settling down offered her a promotion in his new team, he was devastated when she announced she was quitting her job to study abroad, but assured her her job would be waiting once she finished her studies.

Choose the path you want and take it (and take it)

If you don't fit the mold, doesn't matter, go on and break it

“Most of the decisions I’ve made here have been in a heartbeat, so what’s one more?” She covered her mouth with her hands and looked at Cillian. “Fine, let’s do this!”

Nothing had been happening as she had planned out… but that’s the beauty of life. Whisper your plans to the universe and watch it laugh at you, she thought.

LADY GAGA ATTENDS THE 2023 OSCARS

After a long blackout season, Lady Gaga finally returned to the public eye at the 2023 Academy Awards held at the Los Angeles Dolby Theater.

Not only did she grace us with several looks, but also with a surprise performance of her “Top Gun: Maverick” movie title song “Hold My Hand”.

Styling by Sandra Amador and Tom Eerebout with assistance by Victor Cordero, Gianni Catalina and Venetia Kidd. The hair was done by Frederic Aspiras using Joico while glam was done by Sarah Tanno-Stewart using Haus Labs. Sweet and short manicure by Miho Okawara who used OPI.

Mother Monster made her entrance wearing one of the freshly debuted Versace Fall/Winter 2023 closing numbers seen on Gigi Hadid — a semi-transparent black tulle corseted bustier top with bullet bra, long wool-silk box pleat drop-waist skirt with frontal projected kick and silver Nastro Gianni Medusa 95 belt to perfectly reflect the Italian fashion label's house codes!

Her jewelry was provided by none other than Tiffany & Co. who chose some of the most stunning diamonds for her. Just like these $1,950 solitaire brilliant diamond stud earrings.

It’s rare to see archival pieces on the red carpet—it happens occasionally but not as often as jewelry historians would hope. This 1960s necklace of platinum and diamonds definitely made sure to catch all the attention.

She also wore the house’s “Victoria” collection platinum and diamond cluster bracelet...

...and a whopping $20,800 platinum and diamond pavé band ring from the “Soleste” collection.

To create the look, Tanno used products from Gaga's beauty brand, Haus Labs. She started with Color Fuse Blush.

"I used “Dragon Fruit Daze” first which served as the base, and then we layered with “Watermelon Bliss” to add depth,". For Gaga's red glossy lip, Tanno used Atomic Shake Lip Lacquer in shade “Cherry Shine”. "It was the first time I've used it on the red carpet — It deserved a moment!"

Tanno also reveals the reason why Gaga's skin wasn't flush after removing so much makeup before she got on stage, crediting the Triclone Skin Tech Foundation, which she wore on the carpet, for being very gentle and soothing on the skin.

"Because our foundation contains fermented arnica it calms and soothes the skin while you are wearing it — I believe this is why I didn't have to worry about any skin irritation after such a fast removal." Tanno explains.

For her raw performance of “Hold My Hand”, Gaga went for a bare face and a minimal outfit consisting of pieces we’ve seen her rock before in her off-duty hours.

She rocked her favorite Saint Laurent black skinny jeans with slashed knees she owns and loves since 2016! It was paired with a vintage band tee she turned inside out, which I have yet to ID.

The shoes are the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star classic low-top sneakers in black canvas.

There was actually a third outfit change that was not broadcasted on TV! LG wore a vintage Versace Spring/Summer 2002 black silk gown with lace insets and jet crystal embellishment. Above you can see a similar, shorter version.

She also added another Tiffany & Co. ring onto the mix. It’s the alternating ring in platinum and diamonds ($19,500) from the “Victoria” collection.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but what were your thoughts on the Atlanta Cats production?

I am so glad you asked! The Atlanta production was a lot of fun and also very unique.

The choreographer (Baayork Lee) made the decision to leave a great part of the choreography "as is" and Jacob Brent was brought on to teach the Opening and the Jellicle Ball. This meant that elements that are no longer seen on stage were added back in - the Munk/Victoria lift in the opening, "British airways" and the Minuet section in the Jellicle Ball. It was pretty much "98 on stage" and the cast did a *fantastic* job with the dancing. "Macavity" was left as is, as well. Most of the new choreography flowed nicely and was fun to watch.

Plato/Macavity and Pounce/Tumble traditional tracks were split up between Plato/Macavity who did the Tumble flips AND flips during the Macavity fight, which was *great*, and Pounce who did the White Cat Lift. Macavity didn't get any henchcats - he had to drag Old D away on his own.

Munkustrap gives Tugger a big nuzzle during the Deut Duet which made me very happy. Tugger was spectacular - AND I might add looked *straight* at Void and mouthed "Love you" 😊😅

Grizabella had a phenomenal voice - very well trained, very powerful. She was so tiny and Munk was so tall!

Caitlin was a stunningly beautiful Victoria. And very fluffy! Munkustrap was also excellent - more scrungly, but just as fluffy (a Munkustrap should be Soft)

Harry Francis threw himself into the show 300% and made it his own. The Misto solo was basically kept intact - with added flourishes from Harry. He really lit up the stage, both during his solo and after. Just such a fun Misto to watch! We were able to catch him for a short conversation after the show - just letting him know how much we loved seeing him on stage and the original Gillian Broadway choreography.

There were also Actual Babies! A few students came out in the audience prior to the show to be Cats, and to hang out with the bigger cats during the first Act. They got to join in "Jellicle Songs" and the Ball as well!

ALSO EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: BOTH Tugger AND Munk got to Dance Princess Louise during the Ball!!!

(And Munk got to do a lift during the Honkytonk 😌)

There was no Electra for this production but there *was* an Etcetera and she was absolutely adorable.

I'm sure there are so many things I could add - I don't know if anyone else has seen the show, but please add any thoughts!

We had a wonderful time (Also found some truly amazing Sticky Toffee pudding just steps from the theater) and were so glad were able to make it.

Ale, in the MT, which ballerinas do you think are 'one of a kind'? Like, there are some really good dancers in the theater, but the two names that instantly came to my mind were Skorik and Novikova (if not counting Vishneva). I'm asking bc of your recent ask, and how dancers find much more inspirational the ballerinas of the past in Russia, so I was wondering if there's still some inspirational ones in the current season.

Thinking of the phrase "one of a kind", I agree that Skorik and Novikova have both established themselves as truly exceptional, idiosyncratic artists on stage. I think you can add Kondaurova and Tereshkina there as well. They're simply inimitable, these are the women who have defined the Mariinsky for the last 15 years.

It's quite remarkable that all those talents have coincided, and I'm quite confident that the same quality of the roster isn't going to be matched any time soon. People can certainly argue that the current principals can't stand up to the golden generation of MT ballerinas from the late 90s-early 2000s but that's a separate topic.

The next generation, so to speak, houses a lot of beautiful girls with gorgeous physiques who dance quite well. In many aspects, their technique, dedication, and stamina are quite inspirational. However, far fewer women can truly make an emotionally charged impression with their dancing. Of those I've seen live, I'm not dreaming about their performances, I'm not rewatching their videos to enjoy and learn. If I want to practice a variation from Raymonda, I'll watch recordings of Novikova or Lopatkina, not Iliushkina or Khoreva.

Of those who've graduated in the last 5-7 years, the only one who I personally feel has delivered truly spectacular, memorable, and moving performances is Shakirova.

I decided to draw myself an OC in the style of Hell Boss and Hazbin Hotel. And now I’ll tell you a little about each. Well, since I couldn’t decide which species I see myself as, I drew them all. Get ready, this post will be long.

I haven’t come up with names for everyone yet, so for now they will all be “Chertila” I started from the very bottom and took the imp. An ordinary resident of the circle of anger, who took a design course, earned some extra money and was able to move to Impsiti, where she bought a nice and cozy room, continuing to develop her client base. Sometimes he works part-time at a local coffee shop when there are no orders. He also enjoys shooting in his spare time, preferring rifles and crossbows.

Along with the imps, hellhounds are located in the hierarchy. I'm bad at conveying sizes, but she is a small black Spitz. I haven't decided on a specific breed yet (German or Pomeranian). “In Hollywood, action filmmaking was kind of looked down upon until The Matrix, and then people realized that action could also be part of the story,” [director] Stahelski notes. “I come from a place of loving dance and theater and fine art — action can be all of those things — and one of my favorite painters is Caravaggio.” When he was looking for a cinematographer for John Wick: Chapter 2, Stahelski recalls, “I asked myself, ‘Who paints with light?’ The answer is Dan Laustsen.” In strictly cinematographic terms, Parabellum functions less like an action movie and more like a Hollywood studio musical. The film’s first battle is a close-quarters knife fight in an antique weapons shop, where the camera cuts from wide shot to wide shot, sustaining the action in long takes so that the audience can better appreciate the physical prowess of Reeves’ performance — an elaborate fighting style that combines Japanese judo and jujitsu, Brazilian jujitsu, Russian sambo, Filipino kali, and Muay Thai, more for the benefit of show than for self-defense. “Ninety-nine percent of high-level stunt work is dance — not pirouettes, but how you move your body,” asserts Stahelski, who continues to train stuntpeople with Leitch through their company 87eleven. “I love the aesthetic of motion. A lot of our shots [in Parabellum] are lifted straight from Singin’ in the Rain and West Side Story. We’re mixing Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin with Hong Kong cinema from John Woo, Jackie Chan and the Shaw Brothers.” “We wanted to go wider than Hollywood action films normally do and really show off the choreography,” Laustsen agrees. “When the camera, lighting and actors are all moving together, it really is a dance.”

“After we made Chapter 2,” Laustsen notes, “we discussed how we could make 3 even more visually powerful. The main setting was still New York, but we wanted to bring out the city even more forcefully. We decided to shoot all at night, with rain as much as possible. Rain is fantastic because it gives a third dimension to the picture, but it is a challenge to do it, especially in a city like New York.”

The Master Anamorphics’ low-distortion design also prevents dramatic, streaking lens flares, and so the technicians at Arri Rental in Secaucus, N.J., fashioned a flare filter — comprising three strands of nylon fishing line stretched across an empty filter frame — for the XT’s and Mini’s Internal Filter Modules. When a front-of-lens filter produces a flare, Laustsen observes, it “just looks like the light is catching on a piece of flat glass in front of the lens. It’s more beautiful when the flare comes from the lens itself” — and that’s the effect that was replicated with the behind-the-lens nylon lines. “With the filters inside the camera,” the cinematographer adds, “it was also easier for first assistant Craig Pressgrove to do the lens changes.”

The exterior of the Continental was shot in lower Manhattan, but the hotel’s interiors were filmed in downtown Brooklyn, in the former Williamsburgh Savings Bank tower — which now serves as an event space —whose glass-and-wrought-iron front doors open to a 128'-long vaulted banking hall with limestone facing, marble floors, carved teller stations, and a 63'-high ceiling supported by Romanesque columns. For its role as the Continental’s lobby, the hall was furnished by Kavanaugh with two round settees crowned with statues of the Roman war gods Bellona and Mars, a fully-stocked bar, and a lounge on the mezzanine.

Parabellum’s stages were located at Gold Coast Studios in Long Island, N.Y. The first of the production’s two notable stage-bound sets is the Continental’s terrace, for which the Rockefeller Center rooftop garden was used in Chapter 2. The schedule didn’t allow for much time to shoot Parabellum’s scene, which takes place at sunrise. “You cannot make the sun rise [for] a movie,” Laustsen notes wryly. “It’s one or two shots, and then you have daylight, and then you’re fighting to control the light.” So, for more control, the scene was moved onstage, where the set was surrounded with a sectional 45'x350' bluescreen lit with SkyPanel S120s; a 120' black velour curtain was used to control blue spill coming from off-camera. Early-morning ambience was provided by 176 overhead SkyPanel S60s, and the light of the rising sun was simulated by a 20K tungsten Fresnel and a 24K Dino light with medium bulbs, both gelled with 1⁄2 CTS. The other key set built at Gold Coast was the “manager’s office,” a labyrinthine two-story glass-and-steel structure meant to represent the top floors of the Continental, with a 270-degree view of the adjacent skyscrapers. It’s in this space that Wick and Zero ultimately face off mano a mano. “The concept was to create a space where everything is exposed, a place where there are no secrets,” Kavanaugh explains. To help him integrate the lighting into the design of the set itself, Laustsen worked with a virtual-reality computer model based on Kavanaugh’s design. “Chad, Kevin and I had discussions about color — cool lights inside, warm light outside,” says the cinematographer, who wanted what he describes as an “organic” light element for both spaces. The art department therefore added a 35'x14' LED wall to the set’s second floor and a 28'x12' LED billboard to the rooftop; the latter was positioned between the glass structure and a 40'x440' Rosco SoftDrop that was backlit by 150 SkyPanel S60s through Magic Cloth sourced from The Rag Place. Almeida and his rigging crew installed more than a mile of LiteGear Chroma-Correct RGB-Daylite LED LiteRibbon into the glass and steel set, using aluminum profile and plastic diffusers provided by Kavanaugh’s art department. Cues were orchestrated from an ETC Ion Xe console operated by Kent Arneson; Laustsen took advantage of that control to increase the intensity of the light over time — until the very end of the fight, when the two combatants are photographed primarily in silhouette against the LED walls.

Wick literally fights his way through the set — alternately smashing his opponents and being smashed through glass pedestals, walls and floors — until he comes face to face with his nemesis. “We filmed this sequence with a [Chapman/Leonard Hustler IV] dolly and a Libra head, a Steadicam, and a couple of crane shots [with a MovieBird 45 and Aerocrane jib],” Laustsen details. “We didn’t want to go handheld because of all the straight lines. It would be a much more powerful look for the film if the frame was always parallel to the set.” “When we did bring in lights for the close-ups, we used Arri SkyPanel S60s and Astera AX1 LED tubes that we could attach virtually anywhere using magnets and clips,” Almeida adds. “The Astera tubes worked out great because they’re easy to hide, and if you saw a reflection, it just looked like the lighting that was built-in already.”

ik its been like a week i just saw someone else's post recapping their experience and wanted to add mine ^^

as compared to ytc in busan screening, a LOT quieter?? i did the math and realized 7 members vs 20 members = energy and attention split between a lot more people i guess. witnessing solo/unit stanning irl was kinda crazy LMAO

Thank you for all your support and ignoring all mistakes!! 😘😘😘

On Stage Day

Another shift where Armie is on pins and needles.

He wants to see Timmy on stage acting, for fucking sake!

Timmy has sent him a text message - thank heaven! - saying that, thanks to his soup, he feels completely healthy again and can perform.

The hour strikes, Armie again changes hastily, this time into his new shirt, and gets a cab.

As he hurriedly arrives at the small theater, Pauline immediately sees him and beckons him over.

Armie's heart almost slips into his pants. That he would also meet Timmy's family today was somehow not on his mind.

So Pauline introduces him to Timmy's mother and tells him that their father is abroad but then the play already begins and Armie can take a breath.

They play 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.

When Timmy told him he was going to play Puck, Armie honestly thought it wouldn't be that far off from the elf that he sees in front of him every day at the mall.

Friendly, cute and pretty.

But hell what is that? Timmy's Puck is some nasty little shit! A string puller beyond compare, regardless of loss and so much fun to watch! Armie is totally impressed and thrilled. On top of that, Timmy looks completely hot too, hair spiked, kayal around the eyes, ripped jeans, leather jacket with nothing underneath... and then a choker around his neck!

Sure, Timmy looks beautiful, Armie knows that even when he closes his eyes, but he had forgotten how incredible hot Timmy is too.

Still, Armie tries not to think too much about it, and certainly not about their shared experience in the mall restroom, which is just creeping back into his memory, but Timmy's mom is sitting not too far away from him, so no, these are NOT thoughts he wants to have right now.

But Timmy's performance gives enough to keep him busy in his head anyway. For this little shit, despite all his nasty behavior, manages to have a certain depth, a tragic component, something to emphasize with that Armie can only marvel at Timmy's talent.

If he hasn't just seen an acting gem here, he doesn't know anything anymore.

After the show, Armie stands next to Pauline and Timmy's mother and lets their happy chatter wash over him. He just has to be careful not to miss his cues.

And when Timmy's mother invites him to the Hanukaah party the next day, he says "yes" for the time being, because he has the feeling that a "no" wouldn't be accepted anyway.

And then Timmy is finally there. And looks absolutely stunning again.

He greets Armie effusively and beams at him, and Armie is so in awe that he would love to have him all to himself.

But it's clear that Timmy doesn't have that much time for him, Armie didn't expect that at all. Timmy often gets drawn into other conversations, and there were probably some agents in the audience who want to talk to him, too.

Armie is having a good time nevertheless, someone is always around him, Timmy, Pauline or their mother, almost as if they are trying to make sure he is having a good time too.

"I heard my mom invited you to the party tomorrow," Timmy says, standing next to him again at some point. "I'm sorry for that. She gets a little gushy sometimes. You don't have to come if it makes you uncomfortable."

"Should it make me uncomfortable?"

"No, it doesn't have to. It's just… it just my family you know..." Timmy says apologetically, as if he's a little embarrassed by his family, and Armie has to laugh.

"I like your family. And I'd like to come. If you don't mind."

"No, no." Timmy hastily answers and once again their eyes are locked before he adds softly, "I'd love it if you came."

And when Timmy's gaze turns into a smile, Armie understands for the first time in his life what it means to have butterflies in his stomach.
