the books are so interesting because we’re stuck in lucy’s head so we arent supposed to know certain things, but after being given the show, the interview scene is so much funnier because lucy is testing the objects snd she says

Family Nap Time

It's 1 pm when I propose a nap with my lover over FaceTime. She's even awake since 7 am, running on 3 hours of sleep because she refused to go to bed angry with me. And I had been up till 4 am singing our son to sleep on a video call. My lover and I had an argument last night, one lasting for hours. We talked it through for a long time, finishing the night off by telling them to go to sleep and her insisting on a bedtime FaceTime. She sleeps better when on a call with me.

Which is why I proposed a Nap Time. A very needed naptime on both ends, since we stayed up so late. So we FaceTimed and laid down in our separate beds and I got to watch their eyes flutter closed in a sleepy trance, so easily relaxed when I'm in front of them. I stayed awake to make sure she fell asleep.

Our son texted me then before I could close my eyes to sleep. He was scared. I tell him I'm here. I always will be. I poured my heart, telling him I'm never gonna let anything bad happen to him ever again. I'm his Mama. I will keep him safe.

He tells me he's sleepy, but too scared to sleep. I ask if he wants to take a nap with Mama over a video call, and he quickly agrees, knowing he'll feel safer then. Knowing I will keep him safe.

I set up my laptop for the video call, my phone with my partner's sleeping face set up beside it. He joins the call and I give him a smile "There you are!" I say in my Mama voice, the one that always makes him smile back at me. Sure enough, he gives me the cutest grin, hugging his polar bear stuffie closer to his blanketed figure in a giggly embarrassment.

"Hi, sweetheart. It's just me, just Mama. You're safe with Mama, bub" I tell him softly as he nods into his polar bear. His eyes start closing and soon enough, his breathing deepens and slows as he drifts off to sleep. I take a deep breath. He's safe with me. Nothing can happen to him when he's with me.

I shift my gaze from my sleeping son to my lover, her relaxed face and calm breathing making me want to smother her in kisses and hold her close till sleep arrives for me too. Looking back to my precious baby boy, his face finally wiped of fear and worry, his mind no longer consumed with doubt that I love and care for him. I just want to hold him. Rock him to sleep. Sing him lullaby's every night, tell him that I'm gonna make all the pain go away so he never has to feel any again. Kiss his forehead and tell him that Mama is always gonna be here and make sure he's safe. Tell him he never has to be scared with me ever again.

I smile, looking between two people I hold close to my heart. Both of them in the most relaxed state they could ever be. A feeling of domesticity fills my chest as I imagine us doing the same in a place of our own, taking daily naps and holding each other. I smile to myself.

They are my future.

They are my hope.

They are my family.

- jarl and atreus have no problems acting all romantic and cute, even if they are not a couple yet, its just jarl showing much affection and atreus giving it back in a far way more cheesy way

- like they ALWAYS hold hands, but for atreus is a thing that you do between very close friends right? :D
