My favorite genre of Mihoyo character is ones where other characters will describe very specific things about their physical appearance only for said things to either straight up not appear or barely appear in their designs

Subset of this would be characters who are described as behaving a certain way only for their movements to be restricted to stock animation

thinking about how pretty much every single show with lesbian representation has been cancelled or ended by the network in the last year. it hurts so fucking much to see shows being cancelled that have a huge fan base or killing off lesbian characters without a second thought. it’s not gay shows that are being canceled, no, it is wlw shows. mlm shows have continued to go on getting praise and renewals where shows like first kill, even though they’re cheesy and shitty, that have lesbian main characters one being a black woman and having a half black cast are cancelled. it had twice the viewing of shows like heartstopper, a show with two white gay men leads, that got renewed in the first few weeks of its release. even with netflix setting first kill up to fail by releasing it at the same time as huge shows like stranger things and umbrella academy, it still was a huge hit and had such a loving fan base.

the wilds with a lesbian main couple and diverse female cast literally centered around the concept of girl power. huge and dedicated fan base. cancelled. killing eve lesbian main characters one of them being sandra fucking oh that explores the dark side of ourselves while giving really good rep. one of the most dedicated fan bases i’ve seen. cancelled. and not just that, what could have so easily been a happy ending for the couple was ripped from us in the last five minutes right after the characters finally admitted feelings after four fucking seasons. one of them is murdered right in front of the other.

i can’t speak much to shows like everything sucks and the society because i haven’t bothered to watch them knowing they get cancelled. i don’t want to get attached to beautifully written and relatable characters for some big rich homophobic network to tell me no, no you can’t have this anymore. that’s happened too many times to me. right as the couple is happy and things are okay, one of them dies in front of the other like clexa, villaneve, dani and jamie from bly manor. some don’t even really get the opportunity to get to that point and others are just left with their relationship unfinished, with things left unsaid. and don’t even get me started on queer baiting.

yeah gay shows in general with good representation are fucking hard to come by but i’m sorry. mlm don’t face the same kind of hardships that wlw do. there’s a reason burying your lesbians became such a well known trope. because lesbians in shows die all of the fucking time for no good reason. i wish companies like netflix, hbo, and prime would stop fucking being cowards and admit the real reason they’re cancelling these shows. it’s not because they’re not being viewed enough or don’t have a strong fan base. it’s because they’re fucking lesbophobic i don’t want to hear anything else about it or any bullshit that it wasn’t a big enough hit. it may be the 21st century but lesbians aren’t magically equal even within the lgbtq community. the only place to get good representation these days is from fan made sources like fan fiction and fan art. made by people who understand how hard it is.

it’s where we get to see what we’ve always wanted to see, the characters we love, loving each other and being happy. we don’t have big writers scratching ideas because it “wouldn’t look good or be good for ratings”. we get a world where villanelle and eve lived happily ever after instead of villanelle dying in front of eves eyes and and floating into the abyss. not some bullshit from laura fucking neal who knows absolutely nothing about the characters we know telling us it’s what they felt was right. glad burying your lesbians feels right to people. but in our fan spaces we get to see villanelle make it out alive, we get to see them have a normal life and watch movies together. we also get to see and express what we feel is right with the fuck ton of queer coding in media. we get to see nancy and robin fall in love, emma and regina confess their feelings for one another, and any of the endless amount of amazing ships that we desire. there is a reason we flock to those spaces, it’s where we feel safe, seen, and where we feel like maybe one day we can have a relationship like that, to be loved like that. but it sometimes doesn’t make up for seeing it all play out endorsed by a company and written by people that actually care about representation and their viewers instead of just money. we all want to be loved and feel accepted and seen but sadly, because of the events of the last year, i’m not gonna hold my fucking breath.

Fallout (spoilers!)

@bourbonthesecond: The new Fallout show has canon incest. The lead has been fooling around with her cousin but breaks it off for an arranged marriage. It's apparently enough of a feature in Vault life that they have laws against it but it seems to be fairly culturally accepted. He's heartbroken and rebounds with her best friend.

Anon:  I imagine you must have gotten a number of asks about this by now but!! I just watched the Fallout show with my partners and I'm not over the canonical cousin-incest that takes place in Vault 33 lmao. Episode 1 has characters casually talking about fooling around with their cousins as kids (before moving on to "real" relationships for the sake of procreation), and the protagonist's cousin is openly in love with her. She turns him down, but to me they felt like that had more chemistry than she did with her actual love interest lol.

I really enjoyed Fallout (a couple things about it make me scratch my head but I enjoyed the ride either way) and I’ve seen it twice now. 

It’s clear that, at least in Vault 33, fooling around with your cousin is no big deal. I’m not familiar with the games, so help me out here if you know for sure, but the vaults seem to have 100-200 people if they’re full. While I can see how that would lend itself to cousins fooling around, from lack of selection, it’s also not like there wasn’t anyone else she could be with. 

Lucy states that her reproductive organs are intact and she maintains good hygiene, but she hasn’t been able to find a suitable marriage partner in their vault. 

So, except for Chet being her cousin, and she agrees that cousins shouldn’t have children together, she considers him a suitable marriage partner. (Given their limited gene pool, cousins really shouldn’t be having children together in that context, probably. But how long before they’re all cousins anyway? Maybe it’s a pointless delaying of the inevitable.)

She tells her friend Steph that after ten years of “cousin stuff”, she’s ready for the real thing. It’s unclear if she and Chet were having sex, it kind of sounds like they weren’t doing the kind of stuff that could have gotten her pregnant. But ten years! That’s a long time. 

This whole thing was a little strange, because it’s played for laughs, but there’s just a little more to it than that. Chet is in love with Lucy, it wasn’t just fooling around for him. And Lucy says that everyone knows he’s in love with her. No one cares about that either, but they all follow the rule that she and Chet can’t marry. So that was interesting point #1. Interesting point #2 is that Chet is one of the main characters in the Vault 33. He’s secondary character overall. He could have easily just been a throw away character never mentioned again. Interesting point #3 is that Chet being in love with Lucy gets mentioned again, a couple of episodes later. In a rather sad way, when Norm suggests that Chet came with him to investigate Vault 32 because he’s still in love with Lucy and being with Norm reminds him of Lucy. It’s like, ok, make me cry. Why is this so sad!

While it isn’t discussed explicitly after that, it’s pretty clear that Chet isn’t happy with Steph. For more than one reason, but probably mainly because he’s still in love with Lucy. 

I assume, given the circumstances, that Chet is the maternal cousin of Lucy and Norm. While Chet and Norm spent quite a few scenes together, I didn’t like that they never referenced that they were cousins, too. This is a tangent, but when Chet was sent to live in Vault 32, Norm called him a coward instead of being like, “Bye, Cousin. I’ll miss you!” But I think he was just bad at showing that he felt abandoned and that now he would be alone with all of his questions. But what I’m really getting at is that Norm had lost his mother, his father, and Lucy, and then his cousin gets sent to live in the other vault and they’ll only see each other every three years, if even. 

I also wanted to note that Norm calls Chet a coward, which was really hypocritical since we know Norm feels guilty about hiding during the big fight, but which also isn’t fair because when Lucy wanted to go to the surface, Chet wanted to go with her and she had to drug him to stop him. 

I really can’t believe that the show has a tortured canon cousins relationship, with sympathetic unrequited love and the two of them forbidden from marrying. 

While of course Lucy has a canon love interest on the surface and likely won’t be back to Vault 33 anytime soon, it is kind of fun that her arranged marriage, her “real thing” ended up being a man who tried to kill her. It’s like, Chet is looking pretty good right now, isn’t he?

So I dont know about y’all but Eddie isn’t dead to me.

He got out of the upside down, he got his name cleared somehow, he walked that stage got his diploma and “ran like hell outta there” and him and his uncle now live in another place. He still plays with his band all the time, he still joins the boys for there campaigns at the school even though he doesn’t go there anymore, he starts to become a big part of the gang and there all friends now.

Edward Munson gets his happy ending not because I said so, but because he deserved it after everything that town put him through. Because I’m tired of people who are different getting killed off just because well.. there different.

Barb was weird, and only had like one friend she was an outcast, bob was bullied and had no friends he was an outcast, Fred was a bit weird and seemed to only have a few friends and one of them being dead. And Eddie the metal-head, rock-loving weirdo was the biggest outcast of them all and he died why?

Because he was different, he didn’t need to die he could of lived, I’ll never understand why they sacrificed him and he was perceived as a coward/no hero, when he was just as willing to do the things Steve, Robin or Nancy would do. And why was he a coward, because he ran from Chrissy’s death? Like any other normal person.

And they all went on like nothing happened two days ago. Like he wasn’t a living human being, like he didn’t have his own hopes and dreams. It was just so simple to let him live. Like he just wanted to listen to Black Sabbath and his other music on the way to school and dress in cool clothes without anyone judging him, he wanted to “snatch that diploma and run like hell outta there”. He wanted to play in his band in his free time and get lost in the music and he wanted to play D&D with the boys just to escape reality for a bit because we all know how shitty it can be at times.

He might just be a show character but to them he was alive, and he was real, and to me he was real as well, because I felt like I belong with him like if a took a sit at his table he wouldn’t shun me away he’d welcome me in instead and he’d embrace my differences. he made me realize it’s ok to be weird and different, it’s ok if you talk to much and people don’t understand you sometimes. It’s ok if you struggle at school because of your ADHD or your learning disabilities or just because school is hard it’s ok to be different with him because he’s different to. He has had such an impact on my life one I didn’t think he would, so in the end It’s like his death meant nothing to them, once they got what they wanted out of him they just didn’t care anymore.

But I know I would care… just like so many other would too. If it was me I wouldn’t stop looking for the guy who let me sit at his table because I had no one else to eat with, if it was me I’d advocate for him ever single damn day, because he might talk a big game but he’d never hurt anyone on purpose, especially the way Chrissy died. If it was me I’d mount his death like no other telling everyone the truth of what he was really like. Because the boy with the childish grin and baby brown eyes who’d give you the shirt off his back just to see you smile, didn’t deserve to die a for a town who never saw him as anything more than a freak and now a monster.

Anyways, thank you for coming to my Ted Talk y’all. This is just how I feel about Stranger Things as a whole I feel like more outcast/different people die then any one else. Chrissy died and she was popular but we all know she would fit right in with Eddie and the gang, Jason died because he’s an asshole and deserved it and Billy died to further the plot for Max. Honestly no surprises if they kill off Will or El, next season because there different. Or maybe not since they’re scared to kill off the main group people, I think they even probably felt like they pushed it far this season with Max. 🤦🏻‍♀️

In conclusion, Eddie didn’t deserve to go out that way or at all. He deserved the whole damn world and I’m so fucking sad I couldn’t give it to him!! Eddie Munson I’m so sorry the Duffers did you so dirty!! 😖

Here’s what everyone was totally waiting for: my unsolicited thoughts on this cartoon man panel thing I found that got posted on YouTube! I… ended up writing MUCH more than I thought… but you know what, I can’t do text cuts on mobile. So I’m not cutting it. Sorry not sorry for forcing you all to read my opinions. 😆

I just kind of focused on the PPG parts because those are really mostly what I was interested in and scrubbed through the rest (since I’m not a huge fan of Foster’s, love WoY but just am not as invested in it as deeply, aaaaand I’ve only seen one or two episodes of Kid Cosmic). The whole PPG section was essentially me just nodding my head at all the stuff I knew that was repeated from other interviews (immediately blurting, “COWARD,” when he said he wouldn’t name them Pink/Green/Blue, occasionally laughing at the “I’m weird~, I’m artsy~, I’m not like other girls~” type of comments 🤣) but mostly agreeing on what he said about the girls. I mean, no surprises there! It’s cool to see how he’s thought about it all, especially in regards to the 2016 reboot and the live action thing.

I mean, agh, I dunno if I would say them getting older takes the Powerpuff out of the Powerpuff Girls (like… not gonna lie, REALLY bummed my mood to hear him go, “Oh, if they get older they’re not Powerpuff anymore, they’re just three super girls,” like…… I dunno, similar to other comments he’s made in the past that have irritated me, I’m sure it might’ve just come out bad and he didn’t mean it that way, but the way he said it just made me feel awful for the characters… sheesh, Craig, God forbid the girls grow up, then they’re just like eeeevery other woman, they’re not ~special~ anymore 😬😬😬) but like I understand that, what makes the girls different than other superheroes, specifically in the OG show, is that they’re little kids and they deal with kid issues. But… they’re also special because they’re sisters! They also have this cool id, ego, superego thing going on (I guess it’s more accurate to call it their heart, mind, and soul connection, now that I’m re-reading this, but what other superhero team has that? It’s very unique to them). Those are just two other big parts of who they are! I don’t think it’s impossible to have them be adults with adult issues (there could certainly be similar types of adult responsibilities that might serve as “kryptonite” as well, ones that are also more universally relatable). And I don’t think it’s impossible to make something with these three very interesting, iconic, strong characters in a setting where their femininity still wouldn’t be the main focus. They still would be living very unique lives: they don’t have secret identities like most superheroes, they still could be trying to live “normally” despite their amazing powers, like… it’s not that you automatically have to focus on them being women all of a sudden when they get older. You can still treat them like, you know, people. Why it seems like there’s an inability for these reboot creators to do that, whether they’re writing them young or old, I’m not sure (…I mean on a certain level I know but I won’t let myself rant about that). …also, yeah, like I’ve said before on here, for live-action you’d need a much bigger budget to even begin to give any of the villains worthy representation! Anyway. I guess tl;dr I personally would of course prefer them be their kids selves because that’s the original concept but yikes dude. I dunno, the comment just rubbed me the wrong way. 🫤

…also, I don’t know if it’s just me, but he seems to really light up talking about the Foster’s thing he wants to do. I would really, really, really want him to just work on THAT instead of doing that plus a PPG reboot. That kind of passion put into a project is great! I keep thinking about how PPG suffered with Craig having little to no involvement with it while working on Foster’s, and keep thinking about how… yeah, essentially, the PPG reboot is happening because money. Which, it is what it is, let’s face it, but I just hate thinking how, if they’re being worked on at the same time, the quality might suffer on one or the other, and I have a nagging feeling that it would be the PPG that would suffer, especially since I don’t really detect that same genuinely excited feeling he seems to have about the Foster’s thing when he’s talking about the PPG. …I dunno. I just feel like the, “Stop, stop, he’s already dead!” kid and I don’t want the series to needlessly suffer more. 🫠

Also that whole “bigger battles, tougher stakes,” etc., thing for the PPG… like, yeah, sounds cool I guess, but I hope it’s fun? It sounds like the edgy kind of tagline I would hear from these kinds of animation bros who want a darker, super-bloodier, serious PPG. I, too, love a good brawl and some gore now and then, but there is…… a balance. I hope he doesn’t veer too off-course in an attempt to make the series what other people haven’t made it. It’s a cursed enough series for something like that to happen. I dunno. I am trying my HARDEST to stay neutral about it guys, I am going to try to just bleach my brain and forget anything being said about the reboot. 😩

omgg thank you for asking!!! i’ve literally never actually talked about them on here except for randomly tagging post with their names lol. the ones for the short story I mentioned are kinda still works in progress (ig they all are but y’know) but i have another book series i’ve been working on with a whole cast of characters. so basically the main character is named adyen and he’s pretty much that archetype of “chosen’s ones best friend who gets killed off early in the book”. except he’s aware of that and actively tries to do something to change it. he’s human and good with a sword but that’s about it which in a world w magic and stuff is kinda hard for him. his (ex) best friend is lila. she’s the “chosen one”. she’s this super powerful elemental fairy who is being trained by lucien who is the head of the “revolution” (long story short it’s not quite as black and white as it seems) and she’s slowly becoming a different person than before and changing into someone adyen doesn’t know both by lucien and lucien’s right hand woman, jaya’s hand. they’re separated for a while and adyen decides to join one of lucien’s little war camps w a bunch of other “rebels” where he meets poe and piper who are twins. pipers a big fighter, really believes in the cause. poe doesn’t like fighting and they’re not a coward exactly but they just aren’t really built for fighting. while at the camp poe meets kol who’s a siren (but isn’t like seducing poe or anything). at some point they all find out lila has been kidnapped by the dark mages (the ones lucien is fighting this war against) and adyen and the twins come up with a plan to save her that involves adyen going in disguise into the dark mage kings castle. the dark mage king happens to be a guy around adyens age named kieran. the more adyen gets to know him the more he starts to wonder if he’s on the right side of the war. right now i have the series lined up as three books and ive been working on it for like 5 years now which is crazy. all of the characters have their own struggles and experiences that have been so cool to write and ughhh i just love them so much!!! i tried to keep this kinda short lol so consider this an introduction post to on a collision course with fire (the working title of the series) and i might have to talk about them even more in the future as they continue to grow and change!!!

How do you think new characters like Skye, Aunt Julia, and Cleveland would be integrated into s3 of tsitp? How do you think Steven, Taylor, and Cam Cameron would fit into s3’s storyline, since they’re given more prominence in the show?

i loved cleveland in season 1 (and his brief appearance in season 2) and i would love to see him in season 3. i think that laurel deserves to be happy with him but more importantly i want to see his relationship with conrad. it's mentioned in passing that cleveland has called conrad but like i need more than that, conrad really needs that support and deserves it since the people he loves most treat him like trash. i know conrad has a lot of deep bonding moments with laurel in book 3 but he deserves that father figure

i think aunt julia was brought into the storyline truly to mirror the relationship between conrad and jeremiah, so i could see them utilizing her to help conrad and jeremiah make up. aside form the fact that i just don't think jeremiah deserves to have conrad in his life, i honestly don't know how they'll fit everything into one season so i am once again in my prayer circle for book 3 to be split into two seasons

i'm going to be so real with you i have no idea what the purpose of skye was. they added nothing to the story so the only way i'd see them being in season 3 is in relation to the wedding/aunt julia (though i didn't read the books so idk how close they actually get to the wedding.. like are guests in town already??)

same with cam cameron. he's a fun addition to the group but there's not much to him outside of that, i think he should be brought back maybe with some of the deb girls just for the fact that they're all in cousins during the summer and he's a cutie that we all love. if the writers weren't such cowards then he could've dated jeremiah but now i don't wish that cruel fate on anyone 🫠

steven and taylor are mains so i could see them having their own storyline with their relationship away from the others. i don't know what they're doing while everything is going on with belly and conrad at the summer house but they'll definitely have their own plot in addition to being with the group closer to the wedding. i think a big role for them will be sort of the outside pov of the triangle (with king steven being team conrad vs taylor slumming it on team jeremiah 😂) i am going to need steven to be a good brother and tell belly what's up because not only does he know and love belly as his sister, he knows and loves conrad as his best friend/brother. i would absolutely love it if steven gave conrad some sort of push to tell belly the truth before its too late or likewise gave belly some sort of push towards accepting she'll never love jeremiah the way she loves conrad

i would also pay real american dollars to see steven and taylor beat up jeremiah when they find out he's a cheater 🙊

I like that Clams and Rider have a lot in common but are opposites in ways as well. They’re both “tSuNdErE” edgelords But one is an (aggressively) good kid who would decline but thank you for your friendly offers and the other would curbstomp you if you get in his way (AKA he would actively push you away). Anger is both their main expression But one is very expressive in general while the other has a resting bitch face. They’re both goth But one is more specifically punk. They both visibly obsessively train on that RISE & GRIND💪😤‼️ routine But One mains a lightweight weapon covering the ground in ink while the other Murders with a heavy weapon. 

Sidenote: I like to defend heavy mains on my team as an Aerospray cuz they tend to get targeted often and can’t react quick enough to flankers. They can go on a Splatting spree while I cover the floor and stack up victory points. If I slapped these two idiots on this scenario this strat would be in-character for Clams since a big part of his team’s shtick is them having each other’s backs. I also like the “mutually protective” element there.

Neither of them seem to be the type to be very vocal about love. So a romantic relationship would be extremely awkward at first. Clim could give a smooch and Ride goes “bro that’s gay” and Clammy’s like “THAT’S THE POINT YOU IDIOT”. And then they don’t make eye contact for a week. Or Raider could literally just smile and Clambert faints and dies. They are very bad at this. But they will get better and open up more (when alone).

Hilariously enough I like to imagine that the relationship evolves the same way my feelings towards the pair did overtime. At first I thought nothing of it then I was all like “mmm edgy squids” as a joke but bro... I don’t think it’s a joke anymore. At first they’d see each other strictly as rivals. I can see mutual respect with Rider being ranked S+ which Clams would likely aspire to be. And Clams valuing teamwork and trust is something Rider needed a whole character arc to learn and likely still needs to improve. They would realize they have a lot in common they can agree on and bond over. And a Good rivalry would encourage them to work even harder and learn from each other. From there I guess it gets sus. But it’d take a while for them to admit how they feel to themselves, let alone to each other.

Which brings me to one issue... Neither of them would be the type to make advances. If any progress is made it’d likely be accidental. Maybe one of them gets caught listening to Splatoonified MCR and the other goes “Yo is that Splatoonified MCR” and both of them in their heads go “This mf is Not straight”. They’d require some scenario pushing them to open up and maybe non-verbally confess otherwise they’ll just keep it to themselves.

Sidenote: I also like PartyPunk (Aloha & Clams) so in my stupid little head Aloha would play a wingman-type role as someone who is much more comfortable with that kinda thing as opposed to the other two Cowards. But this is not about PartyPunkRock so that’s for another time.

Speaking of scenarios. I'm a sucker for the Tending to Wounds scenario. They can battle (for no reason) until Rider gets wounded and Clams abruptly cuts the battle like “OH NO I AM SO SORRY”. Rider goes “Naw I’m good come at me bro” and Clams is like “WTF NO?” Cut to Clamlet tending to Ridr’s wounds switching between apologizing repeatedly for causing the wound and scolding him for disregarding his own injuries. Meanwhile Riddlr is just sitting there slightly embarassed like “bruh I can do this myself”.

Another one I had in mind for a while but I don’t want to spoil too much cuz I wanted to make it a proper art post. But remember when Rider wore a sick knight costume. He’s not very knightly character-wise but it looked cool. Clams however would fit the role perfectly. What if they were both rocking the knight drip... That is all I will say.

Sailor Moon Crystal Takeaways

More concise, more polished, more in tune with modern expectations - but in exchange, less distinctiveness and generally less charm.

The music is great.

Season 1 is the weirdest. Like in the manga, the beginning feels way too fast, resulting in way less chances for Ami, Rei, and Mako to establish themselves. Rei in particular is a lot less fun in this version.

Biggest gain in Season 1 is going with the manga’s version of Mamoru, rather than the absolute disaster of his story in the original show. I also preferred this take on the showdown with Beryl.

The Four Heavenly Kings were especially strange. Keeping them alive past their initial sections of the season was an interesting change compared to both the manga and original anime’s stories, but they felt so much more generic here. In particular, what the FUCK did they do to Zoisite and Kunzite?

Nephrite ended up as the most memorable, and I watched the dub so I got Liam O’Brien’s excellent voice for him, but it was still a big step down from his excellent arc in the original anime. Also in one of his manga chapters he transformed into a bride and Usagi transformed into a groom to go after him and Crystal included that storyline but didn’t have either of them genderbend for it. COWARDS.

Season 2 felt like a much better fit for Crystal’s style - I actually liked it this time. Also I think this was where the visuals got better, Season 1′s faces in particular were bad.

It helps that this was when the main characters’ screentime started adding up to enough to feel more substantial. Unfortunately, the villains never really got this chance, in any of the seasons. The original anime had so many fun villains.

I’ve only read up to mid-Season 2 in the manga, so past this point I’m not sure which things line up with it and which don’t.

Season 3 had some fun stuff with the outer senshi, but less so than the original Season 3. It was weirdly light on Haruka/Michiru outside of one of the closing songs, but went heavier on Haruka/Usagi and Chibiusa/Hotaru, as well as on Haruka being bigender as fuck.

Original anime Haruka and Crystal Haruka are my two favorite Sailor Moon characters. They’re both wonderful in their own ways.

Setsuna’s story was expanded on relative to the original anime, it was neat seeing her have an actual civilian life.

I dinged Season 1 for taking away Usagi and Nephrite’s genderbending, but points to Season 3 for having Minako do it. And in Mimete’s episode, she’s one of my favorite Sailor Moon villains.

Season 4 was the shortest, just a pair of movies, but like Season 2, I think it took well to Crystal’s more concise approach. Which may be another way of saying that I think these two had the least to lose.

The trio were my favorite part of the original anime’s Season 4, but like a lot of the villains, they had much smaller roles here. In Crystal, Hawkeye is the trans/gnc one rather than Fisheye, which I hadn’t expected to be one of the things consistent with the manga, but looking it up, apparently it is. In the dub, Mako refers to Hawkeye as “they”, which was neat.

The outer senshi show up throughout the whole second half rather than being ignored, which was a nice change of pace. Loved the scenes of Haruka/Michiru/Setsuna raising Hotaru together.

Season 5 hasn’t released yet, but I’m looking forward to it.

Minato Li, Ultimate Child Prodigy (he/they): Minato is about 13 years old and is very quiet. He doesn’t like talking very much but loves talking about things he likes, like trees and birds. They’re also quite strategic and hate being treated like a dumb kid. (Owned by Lynx)

Hosei Goto, Ultimate Falconer (she/he): Hosei is a tough person who doesn’t beat around the bush. She’s blunt but not mean, and he’s generally the one calling other people out. She’s been a falconer for quite a while now, and his favorite birds to work with are ghostly gyrfalcons, ferruginous hawks, and harpy eagles. (Owned by Lynx)

Hotaru Akahoshi, Ultimate Engineer (he/they): Hotaru is impulsive and high-energy, often needing to be active and doing things with his hands. He is good-natured and well-meaning but can be overbearing and a bit annoying at times. His only dream is to design a rocket ship and leave earth behind. (Owned by Ghost)

Takemi Kikuchi, Ultimate Origami Artist (he/they): Takemi is quiet and skittish, and in all honestly, a complete pushover. He just wants everyone to be nice to each other… That’s not happening any time soon. (Owned by Ghost)

Tomari Fujikawa, Ultimate Skateboarder (he/him): Aloof and aggressive, Tomari found his niche of being the voice of (somewhat) reason amongst the group. While he can come off as a dick and a bit of an idiot, he’s really just a big softie. (Owned by Ghost)

Aloe Vera (He/Him):  It sometimes seems like he has some sort of "magical plant power", but In reality the Ultimate Gardener is just a planting genius. Tbh, even though I had 3 people in my list as to who would be killed in Vol 2, Mike was even one of them and I felt like that he could have been a main candidate just because of having him do a heroic sacrifice instead of say Eddie or Max. Since Will's painting showed him being in the front, protecting everyone, which could be some foreshadowing.

Although they could save something like that for S5 so I'm still holding out on that.

I feel like that they’re saving the bigger character deaths for season 5, since that’s likely gonna be a big battle finale. I mean think about it. Say your fave character is Mike, or Steve or whatever. If they got killed this season, people are gonna be turned off and not wanna watch the show anymore cause their favorite just died.

But if they get killed off in season 5, it’s not gonna have repercussions for the showrunners. They’re not gonna lose any future money or viewers, it’s the last season of the show. That’s their safest bet for killing off the core original characters. So I feel like next season the more main cast will be in danger than side characters

Unless, you know, the duffers are cowards and somehow mess it up on a “Game of Thrones” level

time to vent into the aether I guess

i am so tired of my useless cunt of a life. 33 years of FUCKING NOTHING. I’m sick of this. i don’t feel respected, anyone even remotely local blows me the fuck off. no one makes plans with me anymore. I’m a dog in a cage waiting for someone to come play with it and no one will. or they hang out with someone who actively adores my abuser/assaulter. that feels great.

The friends that live near me aren’t even always busy. I’ve told them many times “hey if you have free time lmk I’m always down to hang!!” And they say “oh yeah sure! It’s been awhile!” And then they constantly make posts about being bored on their days off with nothing to do. like…. Thanks. Thanks a lot. I’m nothing. if I had a heart attack and died these people wouldn’t even care. It’s multiple people.

I’m invisible to everyone. Even the things I’m proud of I feel like they get torn down. My love for certain characters because someone HAS to love them “better”, THERE IS NOTHING ELSE I AM GOOD AT. I am a stupid useless lump of meat with no skills and no talents. at least let me have this.

I have so little comfort content and it’s hard to make my own when the fibro and arthritis AND carpal tunnel are all flaring up bad and making drawing the way I do impossible right now. I hold a pencil and it feels like knives.

I’m getting sicker and sicker. My body is in a constant state of adrenal response now which is funny because I’m also sleeping about 15 hours a day. I can’t stop being tired.

I wish I were dead but I can’t be because I’m a coward and I keep holding up hope stuff will get better. But it won’t. None of it will. I’ll be denied for disability I’m sure because I have been three separate times, even though it’s all worse now.

I don’t have income or any money of my own and my bf can’t help me anymore and I don’t wanna ask anyone. I’ve done it too much. I can’t do it anymore. People already look down oj me for it. “you’re a grown ass adult lmao” tell that to literally every part of my body that doesn’t fucking function right. I went to vocational rehab. I have now watched Stranger Things season 4 part 1

Below are my predictions for part 2. Most of them are guesses at who's going to die...or at least is most likely on the chopping block (not necessarily all of them will, just that they’re the most likely to). 

Putting a readmore for both length and potential spoilers. 

Deaths:

Murray - we like him, he's fun. Also, he's too useful and versatile. He is the adult Dustin (a little odd in a good way, the first to see the solution). Killing him shakes the team, leaves them short a resource. Plus, they (probably) won't reunite Joyce and Hopper just to kill one of them, but there is only a single door, maybe two between them and a demigorgon

Eddie - he's the closest we have to a Barb/Bob/Billy this season. Made to be an instant fan favorite. Would traumatize a large % of the main team. Had a whole speech about being a coward, which usually comes before being The Hero. Also we have too many older teens, it's time to pare down

Jonathan - he’s loveable and beloved, he’s one branch of a potential love triangle. He’s served very little purpose so far this season, and is set up to be feeling lost and Purposeless™. That to me, screams Heroic Sacrifice, prime material

Steve - only if they don’t kill Jonathan - the hair, the charm, the heroism, the 9 lives. He’s a fan favorite, and has survived longer than I think a lot of people thought he would. Also we’re getting a lot about how he’s a great friend to Robin, and Dustin looks up to him, and reminders of how different he is than expected/the season 1 version of him. Plus teasing a potential rekindling of a relationship with Nancy. It would be hitting where it HURTS. Plus, what better way to say “I still love you” than “I died to save you”? 

Brenner - because fuck that guy, and El needs to do something to escape. 

Other Predictions:

Vecna is Not going to die or be defeated. Because I don’t think they’re going to be able to pull off “somehow the Upside Down opened for a fifth time, but this is definitely the last time we promise.” 

Vecna being the big bad for season 5 as well, also sets up the last of my Death predictions, which is El. It would have to be an endgame move, because she’s obviously the main character. But if she is like Vecna, and Vecna is the key to the Upside Down, the best way to protect her Family and make sure no one can get in again, is to destroy all the keys. 

Isolating Nancy was a mistake. Especially when afterward you gave her information. Because she is clever and determined and willing to do whatever it takes. She will not only survive but walk away with at leaar 2 pieces of information useful to beat him (his identity and something else we viewers don't know). We’ve seen that Nancy is one of the toughest characters in the show, and everyone loves her, so she’ll have plenty of people trying to save her. (Also I would love it if Robin, somehow, is the one to know her favorite song to get her out of her current predicament, but I’m guessing it’s going to be another little hint at her and Steve being Meant To Be™ that he still remembers it.)

Alt to pretty much everything above: despite this season leaning farther into Horror than ever, no one important is going to die. The good guys will reign triumphant. Everything will be peaceful and bright and full of hope. And then something will happen in the last seconds to CRUSH US (Will floats up into the air perhaps?)
