He's kind and an obsessive perfectionist who fills his entire wall with the weirdest motivational posters. Shirogane is very devoted to his love. He likes penguins (Kaguya and him is peak asd4asd and bi4bi btw)."

Kirito -

"He's autistic and bisexual as hell, and there's a good bit of trans coding in him 🥺

Autism coding: Bro's literally got a sword and swordfighting hyperfixation where, despite playing a game that focuses around guns, he still chooses to use a sword!! We also see him completely missing Asuna's flirting at first (he tells her she could have just checked her friendlist to make sure he was alive, in response to her tracking him down to see him)

Bi coding: Dual wielding swords is literally a euphemism in Japan for bisexuality; and Kirito initially tries to hide the fact he can dual wield out of fear of how the people he's close to will view him (and once he reveals it to them and they accept it, he begins to be more open about it.) Also in the Underworld arc he becomes very close with Eugeo to the point of living with him (and sharing a bed on occasion), and there are several parallels between Eugeo and Asuna, and they're so gay for each other that despite the anime having only a toned down version of it, they're still very affectionate (Also of note is that Eugeo is the only guy in SAO canon to consistently have a 'laying in bed with Kirito' talk CG in the spinoff games) (There's more but it's spoilers and this is a shortened version)

Trans coding: Kirito is very trans coded in the light novel (which shows Kirito's thoughts in much greater detail than the anime) Aincrad arc reveals that Kirito explicitly Does Not Like his real face, and dislikes how feminine it looks (he mentions that its led to him and his cousin being mistaken for sisters) And in Phantom Bullet arc, he's visibly uncomfortable at being mistaken for a girl due to his avatar's appearance, and in response to being misgendered he briefly panics and checks to make sure his chest flat (at least in the anime adaptation) 🏳️‍⚧️"

Shirou -

"Has one goal in life and ignores almost everything in favor of trying to fulfil that goal."

Keith -

"Speaks in a way that is seen as weird and has mannerisms others think is funny. He struggles with not being taken seriously by others because of this and many of the things others say goes over his head. He struggles to connect with other people because of these things. His entire arc in the second film is about him deciding that the people who don't accept him for who he is aren't worth it and that he's going to continue being himself."

Junpei -

"for other fans of this series, I know the more obvious representation here may be Luou, Junpei is So Good. his special interest is ballet and he has so many hangups involving how his family sees him and how other boys his age interpret him to the point that his idea of masculinity is extremely narrow and he enforces social rules on himself to mask and keep people from realizing that he loves something that Isn't Manly. he misinterprets social cues and takes things literally, like assuming that when Miyako asked him to dance with her she meant Right This Minute rather than as a pair in the studio. for some reason the point where he cuts his hair super short to prove his devotion to ballet is also sticking with me, I think maybe it's the combination of the way it's normal for boys/men in Japan to do that, yet Junpei didn't realize that kind of attitude/action didn't suit ballet at all? he wasn't aware that the context was completely different. Junpei also doesn't act or pretend very well, he's gotta put his whole entire ass into his roles, which he then proceeds to get TOO into and cause a lot of trouble, without giving too much away! he's really relatable to me as someone who's socially anxious but very skilled at masking, and seeing him become more comfortable with himself and start to show how he really feels is so inspiring to me."

Kazuma -

"He may be (wildly) misguided but his intentions are good kinda! He’s just the Guy of all time idk how to explain it."

Overwhelmed thinking about Urianger and Alisaie... I've always seen her as the trans twin (based on recognising trans autistic lesbian friends in her :P I know it's more popular to see Alphy as the trans twin but this is my personal feeling for me where I know it in my deepest heart of hearts, I'm not looking to invalidate anyone :D).

And like. She clearly figured that out IMMEDIATELY. Toddler gender euphoria moment, kinda thing. Urianger was the next person to know, and who knows how he recognised that and that she was Not The Same As Alphy... but he KNEW. And was her biggest supporter when she was baby, he's been calling her "my Lady" with utmost sincerity and mutual delight since she was knee high to him. (He had no idea why it felt so good being the No.1 Ally or why Louisoix being so immediately cool with it was a personal relief)

I think she deferred that half year before entering the Studium behind Alphinaud while she got herself sorted out coming out and transitioning, she always sounds so down about being behind him by a few months but this headcanon means she had a lot more going on internally to deal with! Paperwork to sort out! Not thinking about magical theory and politics ALL DAY like certain twins.

(Améliance was DELIGHTED btw and was like "I always wanted a daughter! I have so many wonderful ideas for outfits for you!!" and then instead of giving her entirely identical outfits to Alphy, gave her nearly identical ones with pink details instead of blue ones.)

meanwhile Urianger has not figured out a single thing about himself while wandering around in his dysphoria robes and cowl, hanging out with the overtly sapphic Moenbryda who also won't stop hitting on him once they're older and never wondering why she has a soft spot for him as well as her little squad of girlfriends. Oblivious to being collected into that group even when he is kissing Moen all the time.

Anyway it took Urianger all the way until he lived in Il Mheg to finally trans his gender to whatever arcane and wonderful thing it is now. Nonbinary? Agender? transfemme? he/him but it's on thin ice? :P He's on a journey.

So he's the baby trans and Alisaie gets to support him and answer all his stupid questions because she now is his elder in queer stuff :') And thinking about her being his mentor absolutely obliterated me, okay.

hi i was last anon (i was nervous sorry) uhhh can u give us more thoughts on transfem jack…

i just think its one of those headcanons that just,,, makes SENSE yknow. its not my default for jack as a character but its one of those things that clicks into place and makes you go 'ohhhh yeah. yeah that'd make sense.' like a big thing for jack as a character is they're never allowed to express any vulnerability in the show. they HAVE to be the leader, they HAVE to be the protector, they HAVE to be this one-note hypermasculine force that everyone they care about can rely on and everyone who could threaten them will be intimidated by and its killing them. the only times jack is openly vulnerable is when they're by themself in 'santa fe', with katherine in 'something to believe in', and ONE line with davey ('its good to have you back again' 'shut up') and even then thats debatable. and jack being transfem really recontextualizes that because vulnerability of any kind is still to this day considered feminine and (especially for those who are viewed as masculine) weak. which just makes it more poignant when jack is allowed to be vulnerable imo.

i dont know if jack would be able to be open about their identity in canon era right away. jack the cowboy is a persona that keeps them protected, and they need to maintain that for as long as they're a newsie. but i think they'd trust some people with it. medda would be a big one; she creates this very safe place for jack in the theatre, its one of the only two places in the show we're able to see jack show their innermost feelings. i like to think that through this soft and reassuring place she makes for jack, she encourages them to be more Them. like if jacks a little too enamoured with the stage makeup the bowery beauties use, or if they stare at the feathers a little too long. i think medda's the one they feel safest and most assured expressing femininity around.

that being said, i think spot's a close second. spot's always been the one to say that being a girl doesnt make her weak, but being tough doesn't make her any less a girl, either - and i know a lot of fanon believes they had some kind of sibling-ish relationship as they grew up, so there's got to be a lot of trust there. i like to think they bring jack to some girls poker games and all the other girls figure it out pretty quick - there are definitely some trans girls at brooklyn - and even if some of the brooklyn girls dont totally get it, they'll still respect it.

they'd obviously talk to katherine about it, but not right away, even when they do start seeing each other. katherine holds a lot more societal power than jack does so even though they've had their breakthrough together and know they can rely on one another and express their vulnerabilities to each other, i still think jack would be wary. i think the more they get to know katherine's life and the company she keeps (i know she's covered for bill and darcy SO much) they start opening up bit by bit. katherine's nothing but supportive. i know her autistic girl swag ass is looking for any kind of resource on gender nonconformity she can find.

davey and jack i imagine have pretty frequent conversations about feeling different, feeling wrong. imo, davey listens more than he talks (and he talks a LOT) so i think this is something davey might've picked up on before jack ever had to tell him. neither of them would have the vocabulary to explain it, but i don't think they'd need it. i like to think they agree to move in together as they grow older and leave the lodging house, and that davey goes out of his way to make sure jack feels comfortable expressing themself there, as its probably one of the only places they could.

crutchie is interesting because while he and jack are the closest friendship in newsies, in a way they're both constantly performing to each other - jack with their big 'run away to santa fe' fantasy and crutchie with his constant blend of pessimism and cockiness that keeps him from dreaming too big, but also from thinking of himself as small. so in a way i think crutchie is the person of jack's close circle that they tell last. and i think crutchie might privately be a bit hurt about that but i think he'd still understand why it had to be that way. and even then i dont think he's anything other than protective and supportive. big brother crutchie forever.

thats kind of it, i think. obviously in canon era its something that'd have to be kept under wraps but i think with jacks whole 'sensitive artist' lifestyle they'd eventually find a community where they can Be without judgement. but as it stands they have their family to rely on.

Kaveh and Al Haithem don't hate each other, but they definitely are not good friends.

Speaking of, I think Kavehthem is super toxic. Source? My parents were just like them before getting divorced and now they dont talk to each other.

Diluc and Eula get fake married.

Childe has chronic pain and early-onset arthritis

Shenhe is actually Chongyun's mom, she gave him away when he was a baby for his safety, and the cover story she and the village gave was that she's just an aunt.

Opposite to how Chongyun's energy is pure Yang, Shenhe's is pure Yin, making her much more likely to attract demons

Heizou and Sango genuinely cannot get along.

Kaveh is actually from Aaru Village. Well, before his dad moved them to the rainforest.

Kaeya actually resent his Khaenri'ahn heritage, as it gave him the impossible burden of spying on a nation.

Btw, Kaeya would choose Mondstadt over Khaenri'ah anyday.

Diluc has a room for Venti at the Winery.

Also, Diluc and Jean are not the only ones who know Venti is Barbatos. He aint that slick.

Albedo, Sucrose, Kaeya and Hu Tao also know.

Sucrose and Albedo? Figured it out themselves.

Kaeya? Found out by accident after Venti got too drunk.

Hu Tao? She already had suspicions that Zhongli was Morax, and Venti showing up along with him, Zhongli and Xiao all being awkward just confirmed it.

Heizou and Yanfei are pen pals. They're besties, Your Honor.

Kazuha and Heizou once did it on the fucking beach during VHD.

This was also 2 years before they started dating. And 3 before they met Aether.

Heizou's a bottom btw. a bratty one.

He and Sango tried dating once while they still got along, but broke up long before they split off

Technically, because of the Irminsul wipe, Venti is still the youngest of the archons. Nahida doesn't know how to feel about this. Neither does Aether.

Heizou is allergic to mangoes. And Lavender Melon, and- actually this guy is allergic to near every fruit... Except for sunsettias and pineapples, strangely enough.

This doesn't stop him from eating candy. Much to Sara's horror.

Dw, she has the bfs gang up on him.

Heizou struggles with depression at times. And it's something he goes to therapy for. He hasn't done anything, but for a while it was pretty bad, especially right after the decree ended.

Kaeya has hEDS (Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome)

It means his bones are more likely to dislocate and pop out of socket if he's not careful.

Kaeya is also autistic with some pretty weird sensory issues. The second water gets in his boots this man will toss them off faster than Signora died.

Speaking of Signora. Aether and Venti held a small unofficial funeral for her on Cape Oath. They only had her mask to bury...

Faruzan has all but adopted Kaveh as her grandson. Kaveh has accepted this.

Aether is older than everyone (because, well, physical manifestation of a star) and doesn't tell anyone. He finds it funny

Hes also lactose intolerant. Lumine too.

Aether doesn't let it stop him. Lumine hates this about him.

Fischl is a system

The events of the Aranyaka quest and the Pari quest happened around the same time. How you ask? Aether didn't go to Sumeru alone, he brought Heizou and Kaeya (this is before Hei joined the polycule-)

Its also when Tighnari and Heizou eventually started dating because Heizou kept running off and dragging Kaeya with him when they were supposed to be recovering from the Samsara and Tighnari went "Oh godsdammit i like him..."

Cyno and Nari talked it out and Collei was also cool with it so Nari shot his shot and... It took longer than expected for Heizou to notice...

ANYWAY PARI QUEST

Along with Heizou and Kaeya, Kaveh and Nilou also went with them.

As you've spotted, there isn't a single healer among them

Heizou preoceeds to give Kaeya his spare catalyst and turns that boy into a healer.

"Sorry Aether, I turned your boyfriend into a healer"

The catalyst was the Inazuma craftable one...

Kaveh and Heizou actually hit it off pretty well, bonding over being geniuses in their respective fields

Nilou is Mom friend. Im correct. She calls people "darling" and "sweetheart"

Anemo should be allowed to swirl Dendro so it does in my universe.

Kaeya and Heizou are the ones to find the door to Khaenri'ah... Kaeya doesn't react well and all Heizou has to go on is that maybe the Abyss hurt him somehow

He's kinda right, but its not the full picture.

Also Cynonari have absolutely no clue where those two are at this point... They are Freaking Out because Aether is off doing other things and told them to keep those two in Ghandarvah Ville...

Heizou punches Al Haitham in the fucking face.

Lyney has longer hair, and it's braided over his shoulder like in Lisa's alt skin.

Lyney's outfit is also 30% more slutty because holy shit its an abomination.

The twins are both cats. Lyney is SUCH a catboy (derogatory)

Lyney is just "He could have rocked my shit...why was that hot?"

Wriothesley is Suffering because he lost a match to a twink

Heizou is Not friends with the Orphan Trio lol, but he is friends with Chevreuse. They bonded over shitty dads

Heizou also just goes home with the Inazuma cast after the Fontianalia Film Festival

Yanfei and Cyno also go home lol cause Natlan would not be the best place for them

Heizou, Kano Nana, and Gaming are cousins on their mother's side. Their moms were sisters and grew up in Konda Village.

Gaming and Amber are cousins on the paternal side

Gaming does NOT forgive his father during Lantern Rite. He's also angry at Aether for telling people his private matters.

Heizou is there during Lantern Rite because Favoritism Privilege. Heizou is also upset because he's been there.

Heizou's brother is named Yamashi and his mom is Kanae. The father stays nameless bc fuck him.

Hi, quick and Maybe silly question: how do u decide what youre gonna post? as in, out of all the new stories you might see, what makes you choose one to put up? (I love this blog btw)

I get most of my articles from a collection of RSS feeds from most major and independent news sources in Canada. I read them in order until something piques my interest.

I have a pretty low threshold for what is interesting or newsworthy, so that's why you see a mixture of major news stories with minor or local issues. They're all interesting to me. I'm Autistic so that's probably why it works out that way (i.e. special interests).

I also have a strong sense of empathy, so it makes it easier for me to put myself in others peoples shoes and realize the importance of social issues even if I'm not a part of a specific marginalized group. I'm also Disabled, low income and Trans as well, so I'm well tuned to some of these issues by default.

Chūya can tell though bc when Dazai's faking, they always have one hand closer to their body (it was for missions in the pm)

Jouno had no moral qualms at all, but was worried about their organizations

Dazai's response was something like "nah fukuzawas walked in on me and Chūya it's fineee" and Jouno opened his eyes to give the most blank stare of blank stares at Dazai.

Dazai is really really quiet most of the time, so when they're with Jouno they make sure to always knock their hand or foot on stuff when they move so Jouno doesn't have to work as hard.

All of them have chronic pain and help each other with it as much as they can

And now, I slide Tecchou in to finish the polycule

Dazai is the only one who will try half of Tecchous food combos

Tecchou was worried about dating Dazai & Chūya but decided it would be okay eventually

Has no idea how Chūya knows Dazai is faking dead, just uses the autism to know /j

DDLC Fanfic: Since We Met by KeroZombie

Hey all! Here's my first DDLC fanfic recommendation: Since We Met by KeroZombie on AO3! This is a Natsuri ship oneshot that shows Natsuki reflecting on the past leading to their current married life. I'll start this with the AO3 tags/categories, then my thoughts will be under the cut!

I initially found this one while browsing the Trans Natsuki (Doki Doki Literature Club!) tag (which is pretty great btw). I was intrigued by the idea of seeing Natsuki and Yuri grown up and married, but also reflecting back on their past together. KeroZombie is a really great author, I read a lot of her fics and they're all great! She really manages to capture the personality of each girl, but also throws in so many headcanons and fun twists that really make this a great read!

It's not all fun and cute though, it talks a lot about Natsuki's journey with her dad, her struggles to express emotion, etc. so don't go into this expecting just cute domestic bliss! There's a healthy dose of that, but the Emotional Hurt/Comfort tag is 100% what this is.

Overall, if you're looking for a great take on Natsuri that you may not have seen before, this fic is totally for you! It really makes you think about what you may headcanon for certain aspects of the characters, and some great examples of how to write hurt/comfort with natsuri! Really really great fic, totally recommend it!

ok y'all i got to the episode She of The Good Doctor, the episode lots of you warned me it was transphobic, and I have some thoughts...

I appreciate your warning, it is an episode full of missgendering and discussions of difficult decisions made mostly by cis people, about the life of a trans girl. But I really really liked the ep.

For a bit of context. The patient is a 15 year old trans girl, Quinn (played by a trans actress btw), with testicular cancer. There's a discussion of stopping puberty blockers and then discussion of surgically removing both testicles (one of which is medically necessary). Because Quinn is a minor, the medical decisions are made by her parents, who support her and love her very much. Quinn's grandmother, is not so supportive, a lot of "he's confused" and "what if he wants children in the future". She even acuses the parents of abuse. When they're discussing what to do, there's a medical emergency and Quinn need to go into surgery immediately, so there's not a lot of time for making a decision. The parents consent only to the medically necessary surgery, so they take out the cancer affected testicle, leaving the other one intact. Quinn is sad at first, but she had already made up her mind about getting gender reaffirming surgery as soon as she turns 18, and her parents were on board with it (not that it was necessary, but it's nice).

Now, another big part of that episode, is Shaun's "sience says he's a boy" and all the missgendering. Which I'm not defending, I'll never defend transphobia, but I do understand. All the other neurotypical doctors were accepting of the trans patient, so I see how it looks. And as someone pointed out, there's quite the overlap between autistic people and trans people, so it would have been nice to not have all this. But, I also know that Shaun wasn't in a very supportive household, he left home when he was a child and was homeless for a while. His only firend was his even younger brother (so far there hasn't been mention of any friend in med school either). So I get how a guy like that, regardless of his autism, could be very ignorant about trans issues, you know?

Yes, I would have loved to have better writing in this ep, more support from that front. But in the canon of the show, in the world, from the point of view of the characters, it does make sense, and it is in fact very nice. Shaun asks lots of questions, some quite stupid, some quite personal and Quinn answers them, to quote her "I'd rather people ask questions instead of pointing and staring". He ties, he hears her, and he goes out of his way in the end, to really understand what she meant. I also feel like he might relate a bit, it is actually quite lovely.

I was sort of expecting to feel as horribly angry as I felt when watching that one really acephobic episode of House M.D. (you know, both being David Shore's creations), but it was much more enjoyable. Although to be honest with you, I do hold on so tight to Wilson trying to learn about asexuality in that ep, even tho the conclusion of the case was "syptom" and "faking" for both characters presented as ace. I do try to focus on the tiny glimpse of light lol

ok long ass post just to say, althoug there's a lot of missgendering in "She", I felt that it was a really lovely episode. Thank you so so much to the people who warned me about it, that's always welcomed, and this is in no way a diss on anyone who felt really uncomfortable by the ep, you're feelings are valid <3 but I don't think it was as bad as I thought.

To make up for missing yesterday as a treat here are all the Star Trek characters who are ace:

Seven of Nine-Voyager (Not Picard)

also winning the coveted A4 spot (asexual, aromantic, agender, autistic) Seven could not catch a break, just 4 seasons people constantly telling them she's doing humanity wrong and pressuring him to conform. It could not be a more relatable character tbh.

Billups-Lower Decks

Come on. seriously. we all know this man is asexual. just watch the show it's not subtle. If you disagree you're just wrong.

Odo-Deep Space Nine

Another A4, if there's one thing you can rely on Star Trek for it's the A rep (in infinite combination). (btw I also support trans masc readings of Odo, also whatever's going on between him and Quark)

Yes he has canonical romances and relationships, yes I am ignoring them they're weren't good. Odo started the show just completely baffled and a bit judgey about sex, romance, and gender roles and he should have stayed that way.

Jean Luc Picard-The Next Generation

Remember when Riker tricked him into getting a I-wanna-fuck statute on the sex planet and instead Picard went on an archeological scavenger hunt while dealing with multiple scammers and thieves?

I love him for his genuine hatred of/discomfort with children, his various hobbies, and his lack of time or interest in relationships.

I apologize for finding Q's stalking and sexual harassment of him funny.

Data-The Next Generation

Honestly I'm just going to point In Theory (4.25). The most annoying thing is the show trying to act like it proves Data doesn't have human feelings. When we all know he has friends he cares about. He's close with various members of the crew including Troi and Geordi. He gave Keiko away at her wedding. And look at that picture, that's Spot and Data loves her very much.

In summary, Data doesn't need to want sex or romance to "be human" or "have feelings". He's fine with friends, and his cat, and his autisum.

Tendi-Lower Decks

Because I want her to be.

Ok, I do think it'd be fun to explore an asexual Orion and validate her close relationship with Rutherford as important AND platonic. And we need more femme-presenting/assumed ace (coded) characters on Star Trek. And it'd be really cool to have 2 ace characters on a show.

Also cause I want her to be.

Spock-Star Trek

Did you think I forgot him? The original? The blueprint?

Now, obvious sidenote, I believe in the premise and it's very embarrassing of Star Trek to keep avoiding confirming it, and also I just think Kirk/Spock/McCoy is the ideal dynamic and basically what's already going on. And maybe in either of this ships mentioned, they fucking nasty (or whatever)

However, none of that prevents Spock from being asexual. Which he is.

Dumping some headcanons cuz my brain go brrrrrrrrrrrr and I can't draw all of them

These are gonna be random so don't expect a theme

Btw, the ones that are about the turtles when they're older is based of these

- Leo and Donnie (late 16) got their eyebrow piercings together. In fact, they did them on each other.

- like duh Donnie is autistic and Mikey is ADHD but so is Leo and Raph (Raph autistic and Leo ADHD)

- after the shredder but before the kraang, Draxum went to each of the brothers rooms and apologized to them, individually, about his past actions and for the harm he caused. (Yes, he straight up says sorry to Leo about throwing him off a roof)

- the only ones who can actually sing is Splinter, April and Mikey. Leo technically has a good voice but hes a bit tone deaf and doesn't sing much. Donnie sings more then Leo but Leo is still better. Raph can't sing, not that he doesn't but his voice is more talk-y when he sings.

- donnie and Leo (13) came out as trans at the same time (accidentally), and Leo (14) came out as gay later. Donnie never came out as bi, just started wearing a pin. Mikey (late 15) did the same thing about her gender and sexuality. Raph never came out because he never thought about it until he was 18.

- Draxum was (either) in the hidden city at court or was at a Dinner-Lady conference during the kraang attack.

- when Casey first meets Draxum, he didn't know who he was, untill he realised he was also 'dad' that future!Leo used to talk about. He just assumed Leo was only talking about splinter.

- Leo calls both splinter and Draxum 'dad' cuz he thinks it's funny to confuse them and everyone else around him. Mikey calls splinter 'pops and papa' and Draxum 'dad'. Raph and Donnie calls splinter 'dad' (and all the other father nicknames) and only refer to Draxum by his name. (Tho, one time Raph called him 'pops' and it hit him to his core).

- Donnie was the one to suggest pronoun bracelets to Mikey when they figured out that Mikey was genderfluid. Mikey ended up making everyone pride bracelets.

- Raph has a few tattoos on his arms. he got his first one at 18 at a yokai tattoo shop and it was a dragon (cuz why not). one of them says 'あなたは一人じゃない' ('you are not alone') and another one is a sai.

- Leo also has a tattoo. It's a stick and poke he did himself on his ankle (like an idiot). He did it when he was 17, it took all night and it immediately got infected. It's literally just a shitty star.

- April is an intersex lesbian and is dating Sunita.

- Leo started collecting rings when he was like 12 and has slowly started wearing them around 16. He likes to stim by wiggling his fingers and hearing the clicks. Donnie hates it.

I don't have a ton of headcanons when it comes to the elemental schools (drake family apologist here, whoops) but let me try to format this concisely. Not all of them btw sorry I’m lazy.

Halston Balestrom

Some flavor of neurodivergent, He would probably jump when really excited about something. Because, well, he's a frog but also as a form of stimming.

He does actually use his cane as a cane. I love self-projecting my disability onto NPCs.

Dalia Falmea

Lesbian??? Yeah she's a lesbian.

Generally struggled in school, not necessarily because of what happened in the BOXES event but because of other factors too.

She saw Ambrose as a mentor and/or father figure (apparently she was saved by him when she was younger according to the role call for her!)

Lydia Greyrose

Very grandmothery, especially towards my ice wizard Sasha.

Strict on attendance, but would be understanding if it were an emergency etc etc. Communication is key with her.

Moolinda Wu:

Very empathetic towards students if they're having a bad day.

Felt, and still feels a little out-of-place being the replacement professor after Sylvia died.

Cyrus Drake

Autistic, probably undiagnosed but his special interest was painting before it became myth magic. Also the black sheep of the clan.

Like his twin, I headcanon he's trans. They both DIY'd HRT before arriving in Wizard City and the reason why he's bald is because he shaved it off after seeing Malistaire's severely receding hairline.

Gay!

Malistaire Drake (well. was a professor..)

Extremely hard on himself. Often refuses help from people he doesn’t know well.

The arm he lost and regrew suffered nerve damage. Sometimes it goes numb or even limp.

Sylvia and him were T4T.

PTSD.

Sylvia Drake

She was originally a pyromancer before switching to Life magic.

Short, kinda chubby and the polar opposite of her husband.

She also has severe PTSD.

She was already chronically ill pre-terminal illness and I think that just made it progress faster.

Wait, you wrote BDTA?? Just wanna jump on the bandwagon that my-deer-friend started because I loved that verse <3 The whole series is bookmarked and it definitely left a profound impression. Especially the one written as an article by A. Hamilton, that one felt like such a masterpiece to read.

I remember trying to picture John's art, and the 'tumblr discourse' fic of the series (genius btw). I remember how I broke a little when that poster had seen the picture of John after the attempt and said "how small he looked" 😭 shit i'm shedding some tears rn, that line just gets to me for some reason, as if i can see him

Body horror fascinates me, especially as a trans man, so I seriously adore the concept of this world. This may sound a little nonsensical, but the way you write is evocative of paintbrush strokes on an impressionist painting to me.

I agree wholeheartedly with my-deer-friend; BDTA!John is precious and intriguing, and he pops into my head now and then, just wondering about what his life has been like before the story and what might be in his future.

hi oh my god we are so flattered. yeah that was us!!!

we have so many thoughts about we never really learn-- at one point we even had a whole bunch of lore for the ten deaths of acadia setter, despite the fact that its narrative purpose is exclusively to be Problematic. every tumblr discourse must pull in some very irrelevant dispute about a piece of media. there are so many tiny details in that fic that we think a lot of people overlook but We Know. we know they're there

the way people received this particular fic is interesting too, because without the context of the later work + stuff we haven't even written we can totally see how it reads like john's suicide was mostly about this internet cyberbullying stuff but oh, boy, it was not. it very much was not. after not a perfect son i think most people have figured it out but there was a while there where we were always internally like "oh you don't even know the half of it"

we're obsessed with body horror also-- for us it's not just being trans but also being autistic and plural and just all around weird. love monsters. love fucked up shit. also that's so very kind thank you!! verbal impressionists, that's us, i guess?

(his life before the story: sucked, but in various different ways. his future: no spoilers, because the urge to come back to this series is hitting us. we left the next fic (which is mostly about our unhinged polly headcanons) unfinished, but we're thinking of finally finishing it + going through the hell of putting all the html for it in properly.)
