somebody to you ; 01
parts: 01. 02.
Tumblr media
Itadori Yuji.
Your longtime crush. Your childhood sweetheart.
When he introduced you to his newest friends, Megumi and Nobara, your heart warmed up at how his eyes sparkled whenever he talked about them and how he ran up to them while grabbing your hand, overjoyed like a small kid.
Weeks turned into months, and months into years. Now, today, you planned on confessing your feelings to him. Little did you know, his spikey-haired friend, Megumi, kind of guessed that you liked Yuji. For a long time now.
Yuji had the purest heart you had seen, and though he was as warm as the sun and radiated his sunshine energy to everyone around, you knew he felt lonely. He had always felt like he had everything but the love of a family, with his grandfather gone as well, until he found a family in the company of his friends. You, were indeed special to him, but the boy was too oblivious to think and differentiate his feelings.
A bit too oblivious that his response to your confession left you dumbstruck.
"Really?"
The strawberry-haired boy looked at you with a grin on his face.
"I like you too, Y/N! You're the bestest of all best friends I've ever had! But Megumi and Nobara are close to my heart too.." He drifted off, glancing at the two who glared at him in shock.
Leaving you blinking in disappointment and embarrassment. The two others had the same reaction as you.
Was he trying to say he saw you only as a friend or was he dumb to not realize you were confessing to him?
'I shouldn't have said anything..' you thought.
"But you've a special place in my heart too, Y/N. You're a really good friend!"
Yuji flashed his teethy grin to you, while Megumi raised his hand to smack him from behind, as Nobara held back her urges to throw her purse at the dumb boy.
You sighed, looking away while you felt a tad bit disappointed. Clearing your throat, you bit your lip awkwardly. Embarrassed, and even more flustered due to his friends witnessing your awkward moment, you wanted to go home and question your choices today.
"I'll go home. I just remembered my mom telling me to grab some groceries on the way back. See you later," was all you said before awkwardly walking out of the scene, leaving behind a confused Yuji.
"Huh- okay, Y/N! See you tomorrow!" He gave you a big wave before turning around to face his friends.
"Fushiguro-"
Megumi immediately smacked his head with an irritated expression. "Are you stupid?" "What was that for- oi, Nobara!" Yuji grimaced as the said girl pinched his sides. He looked at the two with a stupidly innocent face. "What did I do?" "She confessed to you, you dimwit! And you threw off the entire confession! Did you really miss the point?" Nobara rambled, using her hands while she ranted for a dramatic effect. "She likes you more than just a friend, Yuji! She literally told you she liked you! She didn't mean that as a friend!"
"Eh?"
Yuji blankly stared at the two, while having the hood of his shirt dragged and held up by a silent Megumi, who had much to say but chose to glare at him instead.
"You mean she likes me?"
"That's what I'm saying!"
"You mean she LIKES me? Like, in that sense? Like a lovey-dovey sense? Y/N likes me like that?!"
Nobara sighed in exasperation.
Megumi facepalmed. "Yuji, do you like her back or not?"
His question made Yuji stop and think. Of all the times you had been a little too kind to him. All the instances where you'd put him first before yourself, and cared for him like he was your treasure.
When you gave up all your academic opportunities because you felt like Yuji deserved it more.
When you let him cry on your shoulder all night long after his grandfather's passing.
When he fell sick and you took two weeks off school to tend to him.
When you got the news of him eating strange things and all the weird incidents that took place in your school one night, the way you scolded him for his carelessness before breaking down in sobs, thankful that he wasn't hurt as badly as his two other friends.
Yuji had mistook all this for simple, 'friendly' concern and selflessness. Especially when you would get jealous whenever he got confessions from other girls, he thought you were just being protective of him as a friend.
Then, it hit him.
You had been liking him for a long way back, and even his friends knew, except for himself.
"Fushiguro, I.." He began, his words trailing off. He clenched his fists and ran off, escaping his friend's grip.
"I gotta go and tell her something! Sorry!"
Nobara squinted her eyes at the running man. "We need to follow him," she muttered, receiving a nod from the other side.

Missing You (1/1) (jegulus)
Regulus came home, and immediately knew something was wrong. Usually James was prepping dinner, and Harry was sitting at the kitchen table chatting away about his day, doing homework, or reading books. James was usually just as relaxed and animatedly chatting back.
"What's wrong?" Regulus asked, coming in behind James, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder. James turned in his arms, leaning against the counter and meeting Regulus' gaze.
"I don't know hun. I picked him up and he was quiet. Then we got home and I asked him how his day was, and it looked like he was starting to cry and then he just ran up to his room and closed to the door." James bowed his head, giving a small shake. "Now he won't let me in."
Harry was still only just 10, but to have him this upset and not wanting to talk about it was very unlike him. James didn't know what to do. "Something happened at school maybe, but I don't know." James trailed off. "You okay?" Regulus asked, and James looked up to meet his gaze again. "Yeah just worried about him." James replied. "I'll go try, can't hurt." Regulus said, kissing James on the cheek and turning to go upstairs.
"Harry," Regulus said tentatively as he knocked on his door. Harry opened the door a smidge, looking in the hall to see who was there. "It's just me, do you want to talk?"
He opened the door a bit wider so Regulus could come in and then hurriedly closed it behind him. His eyes were red and puffy, and as soon as Regulus sat down on the edge of the bed Harry ran into his arms, flinging his small arms around Regulus' neck. "Hey little man," Regulus soothed, rubbing his back. "Want to tell me what's wrong?"
"I miss mama," he whispered, sniffling.
"Oh darling, of course you do." Regulus heart was broken. But he only held Harry tighter.
"You can't tell my dad because I don't want him to be sad." his voice was so soft and small, Regulus almost missed it.
Regulus squeezed him once again, and then put his hands on Harry's shoulders and held him out in front of him a little to meet his gaze. "Oh Harry, your dad wouldn't want you to be sad all alone. And it's okay to be sad. Especially if you miss your mama." Regulus explained.
"I miss your mother too you know," Regulus added. "She was a very dear friend." Harry looked at him with big wide green eyes. "You do?" Harry asked.
"Oh yes. You know, sometimes it helps to hear stories about the people who are gone." Regulus suggested. "I bet your dad has lots of good ones, should we go ask him?" Harry nodded slowly. "Will you ask him for me?" Harry whispered, eyes still so wide. "Of course," Regulus said as he stood and Harry grabbed his hand as they walked downstairs.
"James," Regulus called as Harry sat down at the kitchen table. James turned, eyes running over the scene in an attempt to read the situation. "Harry would like to hear some stories about his mama. I was thinking about the time she charmed books from the library to fly out of anyone's hands to her if she needed them."
"My mama?" Harry asked with a small giggle.
James smile spread big on his face. "Yes your mama. She also was the most kind and gentle person. She once took care of all your uncles and me when we were sick from a prank gone wrong." James face softened as he remembered. Harry perked up "is that how you know her special tea recipe?" he asked.
"It sure is love," Regulus replied. "Do you remember something about her?"
Harry thought for a moment, and James looked on with a worried face hidden behind a gentle smile, Regulus still caught it though. "I remember when she used to read books by the fire and that she always made silly voices for the people in the books. And that she would sing even though she was bad at it. And I remember that she once told me that dad was 'a nutter' but he was sunshine anyway, and she always called me baby boy even when I was 5!"
A small tear crept down James face, as Harry talked on about his mom. James missed Lily everyday, and things were easier with Regulus in his life now, filled with a different kind of love that could never take Lily's place, that never tried too. James always remembered the anniversaries, her birthday and the day she got sick, and always the day she died. Harry rarely talked to him about it, he was only just 6 when she passed. A bit young to really understand it all. Regulus of course knew Lily, and Harry was sure to tell Regulus about her in the beginning; like he didn't want Regulus to take her place. Of course he never tried, and Harry had grown so accustom to talking to Regulus about her that James suspected it was easier for him to tell Regulus about her than James, who couldn't help but cry each time. Part of him wanted to show his son emotions were not something to suppress, but there was something magical about the way Regulus listened that always made space for whatever came up.
Now it's been nearly 5 years and Regulus suspects that's probably why it's hitting Harry a bit harder now. Or who knows some kid might have teased him about it at school or talked about their mom harmlessly. Regulus doesn't know what triggered it, it doesn't matter much to him, so long as Harry is comforted and knows he is not alone.
Sirius and Remus came just as James was plating dinner, and they were now telling raucously loud stories of the time Lily purposefully blew up a pumpkin pie Marlene made because it tasted terrible and didn't want to hurt her feelings.
"What's going on in here?" Remus asked, and both he and Sirius in turn came to kiss Harry on the head. "We are telling stories about my mama!" Harry said still giggling. When Remus and Sirius stopped for a moment, same assessing the situation eyes, Harry stated: "well I miss her you see, and Papa said if you tell stories about the people you miss it's like they are right here again with us."
Regulus' mouth parted just enough for James to notice what was for him a jaw drop. And then his son's words processed in his brain; that was the first time Harry had called Regulus Papa, and never having been asked or told to before. Sirius heard it, but with a quick flick of his gaze to Regulus and back to Harry he said, "that's absolutely right. The ones that love us never truly leave us," and with that Regulus stepped over to press a kiss to Harry's head and they sat down to Remus taking his turn to tell a story about Lily.

thinking about these narrative decisions:
- mike lying to el saying his grandma is sick and that’s why he can’t hang out, el breaking up with mike, mike thinking he didn’t do anything wrong as if he wasn’t the one lying to el and not rushing to go apologize to her vs mike being distant from will because he’s busy focusing on el, will and mike arguing, and mike immediately going to go apologize to will and admitting he was being an asshole
- mike looking weirded out and confused when el kisses him goodbye and tells him she loves him (even though they had no problem kissing all season and mike said he loved her at hopper’s cabin and tried to tell her at the grocery store)
- mike looking back at will’s house then the scene goes to will crying then back to mike at home embracing his mom and all of this is happening while hopper is saying i feel distant from you, i’m afraid of change and i don’t want things to change, and wanting to turn back the clock
- mike reading a letter from el that mentions will might like a girl because he’s been acting weird and might be painting something for the girl but she hasn’t seen the painting
- mike not giving a proper hug to will at the airport
- mike immediately asking “what’s that?” in reference to the painting and will telling him it’s a painting he’s been working on only for mike to say “cool” and stare at him in return and then flinch when argyle speaks (mike flinching to argyle saying something implies he was in deep thought about something and i’m going to take a wild guess and say he was thinking “why 😠 would 😠 will 😠 bring 😠 the 😠 painting 😠 he 😠 made 😠 for 😠 some 😠 stupid 😠 girl 😠 he 😠 likes 😠 to 😠 see 😠 me 😠 when 😠 we 😠 haven’t 😠 seen 😠 each 😠 other 😠 in 😠 MONTHS??? 😡”)
- mike and will having an argument at rink-o-mania where mike claims will sabotaged the entire day despite the fact el just got humiliated by her bullies which is what actually sabotaged the entire day. the argument then continues with dialogue such as “well, what about us?”, “meanwhile, el has like a book of letters from you”, “that’s because she’s my girlfriend, will”, “and us?”, “we’re friends. we’re friends.”
- mike not being able to tell el he loves her and getting defensive blaming “mouth breathers” and claiming she sounds ridiculous even though he KNOWS he hasn’t been writing or saying “i love you”
- mike not telling will what him and el were arguing about
- mike going to will to apologize and admitting he was being a self-pitying idiot, “i didn’t say it” “you didn’t have to”, admits that hawkins isn’t the same without will and feels like he lost him, then proceeds to tell will he wants them to work as a team and best friends
- mike doing a triple-take look at will while will is also staring at him
- mike agreeing with will when will says “what if they don’t like the truth?” (if mike loves el romantically then why would he agree with this? el wants him to love her so if he explained himself like he said wanted to, then she would like that truth. so what would he tell her that would be true that maybe she wouldn’t like? also this is the 2nd time he’s brought up the argument with el and still won’t tell will what it was about)
- mike describing meeting el as “simple dumb luck”
- the van scene script including a line that says something about mike noticing el doesn’t need him anymore
- el drawing the two stick figures over byler and one stick figure over herself
- mike mentioned to dustin how el saved the world twice, tells el she’s a superhero in their argument, compares el to superman, and in his love confession he calls her a superhero. all the meanwhile, el’s storyline is about her developing autonomy and becoming more than just someone that has superpowers
- mike telling el he loves her after he hears will’s feelings disguised as el’s which makes mike feel secure and loved because how will loves him is how he wants to be loved. the only problem is that those are NOT el’s actual feelings. he made a love confession and feels loved not from el’s love, but from will’s love
- the parallel where we see that el is able to defeat vecna when her mom tells her “i love you” vs el losing against vecna when mike tells her “i love you”
- mike and will standing next to each other in the final scene with the two other couples
i mean the duffers are clearly showing the breakdown of mikeven and the buildup of byler. and what really drives all of it home is that mike believes will’s feelings are el’s and that the painting was el’s idea!! none of that is true though!! and one of the themes of this show is “friends don’t lie”, so the show can’t end with mikeven being endgame when their relationship is based on a lie. what kind of endgame couple would that be if mike believes el feels that way about him when she never said any of those things? like will was the one helping to fix their relationship. all mike did was seem like he wanted to breakup with el and once they reunited you got the same vibes that maybe el wanted to breakup too.

Season One Episode Seven
Dr. Spencer Reid x Reader
Words: 5301
Series Masterlist
Summary: Y/N’s graduation calls for a celebration, but a case could get in the way. Nerves around her upcoming birthday make Spencer and Hotch worried.
Notes: Guys we are so close to the season finale! I can’t thank you enough for the love I’ve gotten on this series and I am so so excited for you all to read the end of season one. Also, I couldn’t find anything that actually gave Hotch’s dad’s name, so I just made one up. There isn’t a lot on their dad in general, so I created my own backstory for the Hotchner family because I wanted this chapter to really focus on Y/N’s relationship with Aaron. Also, graduations are exciting and all, but they are long and boring, so I am kinda going to skim through the actual ceremony.
-
The hospital discharged you with only a suitcase and a piece of paper in your hand. The social worker walked you down to the lobby, informing you that they took the liberty of getting clothes from your house. Hence the suitcase. She insisted on carrying it, which should have seemed like a nice gesture, but it felt more like she was taking the one thread you still had of home.
It was a crime scene now.
Your uncle Robbie stood on the far end of the waiting room. His face was red and puffy. You’d never seen him cry before. To be fair, you hadn’t seen him in three years. You wondered if he was crying more for his sister in prison or the daughter he now had to take care of.
Focus Y/N. If you ramble now, everyone will think you’ve snapped.
Just like mom.
You forced your mind to stop jumping from subject to subject and focused on what was in front of you.
Robbie was talking to a man in a suit. They both looked so serious. Robbie almost looked angry.
“Thank you for your help,” the serious-suit-man said, reaching to shake Robbie’s hand. He didn’t take it.
The social worker cleared her throat. Both men’s heads snapped to you.
“Hey kid,” Robbie greeted. He wiped his face with his sleeve and leaned over so he was eye level with you. “Are you ready to go.”
You wordlessly handed him the paper in your hand.
“That’s the number you should call if she starts to feel… sick again,” the social worker explained.
You looked over Robbie’s shoulder at the suit-man.
“Are you here to ask me more questions?” Your voice was hoarse and made your throat sore from having that stupid tube shoved in it for so long.
The man’s eyes softened, but not like Robbie’s self-pity. Instead of leaning over you like you were a kid, he sat down and motioned for you to join him. You broke away from the social worker and took your suitcase from her.
You sat down.
“Do you remember much about your father?” He asked.
You tensed. No one had asked you about him. They all wanted to know about your mom. You shook your head.
“I know he was a jerk.”
The man blew out a breath- almost a laugh, but not quite. There was something familiar about him in a way you couldn’t explain. You’d never seen him before and yet the feeling in your previously hollow chest made you feel like you’d known him your whole life.
“Do you remember his name?”
“Don’t you know your father’s name?” You snarked flatly.
His mouth formed a thin line. He nodded. “Roy Hotchner.”
You leaned away from him, that feeling in your chest almost becoming suffocating. “How did you know that?”
He turned to Robbie. Robbie crossed his arms over his chest.
“Go ahead. She’s gotta know at some point.”
The man looked back at you, eyes full of the emotion his expression was hiding. Fear, confusion, surprise… but most of all there was a kind of curiosity. It matched the thoughts running through your head.
“Roy Hotchner is my father’s name,” he said slowly. “My name is Aaron.”
“What are you talking about?” You started to hyperventilate, making your throat even worse. “What does that mean?” Your hand shook on the arm of the chair.
He gently put his hand on your arm. Your brain told you to jerk away. You didn’t know this man. You didn’t believe him. No.
You remembered your mom telling you your dad wasn’t coming back. He was going back to his other family.
His other family.
You stared at Aaron’s hand. Somehow, the touch calmed you down despite your mind being anything but.
“It means I’m your brother.”
-
You awoke to a symphony of delicious smells wafting to the bedroom from the kitchen. You searched the room for something to wear. Clothes had ended up in various locations thanks to last night's activities. Slipping on a sweatshirt and a pair of shorts, you went out to investigate the source of the aromas.
Spencer stood over the stove, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows and his tongue poking out of his lips as he attempted to flip a piece of french toast. You crept up behind him and let your hands run down his back, your lips gently pressing against the back of his neck.
“G’morning,” you muttered against his skin.
He turned around with a mildly disappointed frown. “You weren’t supposed to be up yet. I was going to serve you breakfast in bed for our first official day living together.”
You’d been moving your things in for the past few days and last night you’d finally gotten everything settled. Hence the celebration in which your clothes had ended up strewn about the room.
“Well now we can have breakfast together,” you said, bringing his lips to yours.
His pout turned into a content smile. “Okay.”
You perched on the corner of the counter and watched as he plated up breakfast and poured you a cup of coffee. Once he’d set the table, he swiftly turned around, put his hands on your waist and kissed you again. Your arms went around his neck and his hands moved up and down your thighs in a motion that made you forget about the delicious meal on the table.
A phone buzzed and for once, it wasn’t his.
“Just. Leave. It,” he mumbled, separating each word with a kiss.
You put a finger to his lip and scoffed. “Oh no. You get to know how this feels for once.” You picked up your phone with a smirk, satisfied with his adorable frustration. “Hello?”
Spencer began his tactical approach to your neck, his lips trailing up and down, finding the spot that made your breathing falter.
“Hey, Y/N.” The voice on the other end was not one you’d expected to hear.
You shoved away from Spencer and hopped off of the counter. “Sean, hi.”
Spence watched your body language completely shift gears. The hand not holding the phone went around your torso, locking your arm in front of your ribcage. Defensive. You were protecting yourself. You started pacing, feeting padding across the floor with and increasing speed the longer you listened to the silence on the other line. Your voice changed too. You sounded hopeful, but he could hear anticipation. Waiting for the disappointment. You’d expected this.
“Listen, I appreciate you sending me an invitation, but I’m not going to be able to make it to your graduation,” Sean said.
“Oh.” You wished you could sound surprised, but you just couldn’t bring yourself to try.
“Yeah, there’s a bunch of stuff I have coming up for work, and I just don’t think I’ll be able to get away.”
Couldn’t he at least pretend to sound upset?
“I understand. Thanks for calling.”
“I’ll talk to you later,” he lied.
“Uhuh. Bye.”
You set the phone on the table and sat down, your back facing your concerned boyfriend. Your voice may have remained neutral, but everything else about your demeanor betrayed your emotions.
Every time, you let yourself hope a little and every time, he lets you down. He comes up with some excuse. He finds a reason to not have to see you so he can go on pretending that you don’t exist.
“Is everything okay?” Spencer asked, though he knew it was a stupid question.
You picked up your fork only to set it down again. Even the sweet cinnamon scent couldn’t tempt you now. “Sean isn’t coming this weekend.”
Spencer took the seat next to yours. “I didn’t even know you invited him.”
“That’s because I knew he wouldn’t come.” You made no effort now to hide the bitterness in your tone. “He does this every time and I let myself think he might actually change, but he never does.”
“But you’re family,” Spence said, “why wouldn’t he want to support you for something so important?”
You scoffed. “Sean doesn’t see it that way. To him, I’m just a reminder that his perfect family was never really perfect.”
Spencer set his plate aside and leaned towards you, his chin resting on his fist as he listened intently. You went on.
“When Aaron was growing up, our dad was… well he was a jerk. He pressured Aaron to be perfect- the perfect student, the perfect citizen, the perfect son. And when he drank, it was even worse,” you explained. “By the time Sean was born, people in the neighborhood were starting to notice and Roy Hotchner couldn’t have that. So he took a trip to Fairfax and found a new medium for his anger.”
As he listened, Spencer’s eyes never left your face. The hazel pools had become a comfort that you frequently dove into, especially when you talked about your family. You could see the flicker in them, his beautiful mind taking in your words and sorting through them like pages in a book.
“Sean was never really exposed to our dad’s darker side because Roy took it out on my mom. He grew up thinking that his dad was perfect- exactly the way he wanted to appear. So when he found out about me…” You laughed humorlessly. “I guess he’s never really forgiven me for ruining that image for him.”
Spencer nodded and you could see the gears turning in his head. You narrowed your eyes.
“What?”
He just shrugged. “I was thinking of the statistics of families that break apart after a tragedy, but yours is a unique situation because you didn’t know half of your family existed until after your tragedy and then I started thinking about siblings that grow up with an abusive parent, but you didn’t meet your brothers until well into your teenage years and-” He cut himself off, his smile turning sheepish and his cheeks growing pink. “And then I just figured that my facts wouldn’t be very helpful in this situation, so I wasn’t going to say anything.”
You laughed, tucking his hair behind his ear so you could kiss his cheek. “You’re adorable.”
He wrinkled his nose with a frown. “I am not.”
“That’s what I should call you now,” you teased, popping a piece of french toast in your mouth. “Dr. Adorable.”
He chewed his breakfast aggressively, but even his mock-anger was cute.
“After this weekend, I”ll have to call you Dr…. Can’t Cook,” he muttered. You raised a brow at his horrible attempt at an insult. He sighed, which turned into a laugh. “I couldn’t think of anything better, okay?”
Your eyes caught a glimpse of your watch and you quickly shoveled a few more bites of toast into your mouth.
“I forgot, I’m shopping with Emily today for something to wear for graduation,” you said. You dabbed the syrup off of your lips before leaning down to kiss Spencer’s temple. “I’ll see you later, yeah?”
“JJ hasn’t called us in yet,” he chimed, crossing his fingers.
“I love you.” You kissed his lips and smirked. “Dr. Adorable.”
Spencer shook his head and waved you out. “I love you too.” He watched your eyes catch on the calendar on the wall. While your expression didn’t change, he saw a flicker of discomfort. You quickly corrected it and smiled back at him before opening the door.
He knew, of course, that Sean was the least of your worries. The true source of your recent nerves glared out at him from the calendar.
Next week was your birthday.
-
By the second store, Emily had figured out something was up. Everything you tried on was wrong- this was too tight, that was too loose, this was too old-fashioned, that made you look like a little girl. But it wasn’t the outfits that were upsetting you.
By the time noon came around, you both decided to take a break from shopping and grab some lunch. She got a sandwich from the food court and you got a granola bar from a vending machine.
“Alright,” she started, eyeing your meager attempt at a meal. You hadn’t even started eating, you just toyed with the wrapper. “Spill.”
“What?”
“Come on, don’t think I haven’t noticed how weird you’ve been all day.” She playfully poked your arm. “What’s going on?”
You split the seam of the wrapper between your fingers and listened to the crinkle of the foil. The problem with her question wasn’t finding an answer. It was sifting through all of the answers in your mind to find the right one.
“I think it’s all just a lot,” you shrugged. “I mean, I’ve been working towards this my whole life and it’s finally here. And with next week being… well, you know. Everything is just happening all at once and I’m not really used to having so many people supporting me.”
“We can be a little overwhelming, can’t we?” She laughed.
You smiled and this time, it wasn’t forced or nervous. “It’s not that. I think I’m just used to only having one person to make proud, you know? For so long, all I’ve wanted was to be just like Aaron. The big brother that saved me.” You hadn’t realized how much you meant the words until you said them. Without Aaron, you didn’t like to think where you would have ended up. “Now, I have even more. I have you and Penelope and this whole team that I’m not even actually a part of. You all just took me in like I was one of you. Like a family.”
You realized you were rambling and paused, but the sincerity in Emily’s eyes urged you to keep going.
“And then there’s Spencer.” You smiled. “He’s so intimidatingly brilliant and he’s helped me so much to get where I am. We just finished moving in together and I’ve never been that close to someone before, which is both terrifying and wonderful.”
“I still can’t believe he let someone into his little world the way he has with you,” she awed. “It just shows how crazy he is about you.” She leaned forward and lowered her voice. “Okay, I’ve got to know.”
You held up a hand, snickering. “If this is another question about how Spence is in bed, I’m not answering it.” Ever since you’d become friends with the ladies of the BAU, you’d been bombarded with questions of the intimate kind. You kept your lips sealed- of course for Spencer’s privacy- but also because it was fun to watch them squirm.
“Come on, I’m not Penelope, okay?” You both laughed so loud that the people around you made faces, but neither of you cared. “No, I was just curious if it’s weird, you know, living with someone who works with your brother. Hotch is our boss and all.”
Again, you couldn't help but smirk. “Some days, I think Aaron wants to kill both of us but others, it feels like we’re competing for who’s his favorite genius.”
“Sounds like an interesting dynamic, for sure,” Emily noted with a chuckle. You both finished your lunches and stood, ready to set off for store number three when her phone started to ring. Her expression immediately shifted. “It’s JJ.”
Your heart dropped. She answered and grew more dejected as the conversation went on. You tried not to show the crushing disappointment on your face as you realized what it meant.
The ceremony was in two days.
The team, Spencer, Aaron… they weren’t coming.
-
People needed help. Lives were at risk. They were what counted right now.
“It’s just a ceremony,” you reasoned, carefully working your tone so he wouldn’t hear the hurt building in your chest. “Really, it’s not a big deal.”
“Don’t say that, of course it’s a big deal,” Spencer said. His guilt was evident in his voice. He knew how much this meant to you and he’d been so excited to see you complete this step in your life. More importantly, he knew how much it meant to you to have your brother there. “I just wish there was something I could do.”
“Just focus on the case now, sweetheart.”
He grimaced. He didn’t deserve the comfort of a pet name. “I’ll still be thinking about you, okay? And who knows, maybe we’ll get through this one quickly and we’ll all be back in time.”
“Maybe you will.” You tried to sound optimistic, if only for his sake. You didn’t want to get your hopes up.
Spencer felt a light tap on his shoulder. Hotch motioned to the phone.
“Can I talk to her?” He asked.
Reid nodded, his conflicting emotions clear in his eyes. “Hey, Hotch wants to talk to you, so I’ll call you later, okay?” He lowered his voice, shrinking under his boss’ stare. “I love you.”
You smiled at his shyness. “I love you too, Spencer.” You heard the phone change hands and felt a new wave of sadness at your brother’s voice. He almost sounded worse than Spence.
“We’re going to try and make it.”
“I know.”
“If there’s anything I can do to get back in time-”
“I don’t want you guys to worry about it,” you said firmly. “Someone out there needs your help more than I need you to be at my graduation, Aaron.” Your voice caught in your throat and a tear fell down your cheek. “Why don’t you guys just call me when you get back? That way I’m not a distraction or anything.”
Aaron sighed and couldn’t think of anything else to say. “Alright. We’ll talk more then.”
“Tell everyone to be careful and come home in one piece for me. Goodbye.” You knew if you said anymore you’d break down, and you couldn’t let your feelings get in the way of their work.
The apartment seemed to loom around you, reminding you just how alone you felt.
“It’s just a stupid ceremony,” you repeated to yourself. If only you could tell your heart that.
Hotch handed the phone back to Reid and took the seat across from him with a grim expression. The younger agent put his phone in his bag. His shoulders lowered, his whole demeanor deflating as he spoke.
“I almost wish she showed how upset she is,” he said. “Somehow her being so understanding just makes me feel worse.”
Hotch nodded and gave him a knowing glance. His sister’s ability to forgive for the sake of his work was something that he struggled with for every missed dinner, every plan canceled.
“Get used to it.”
Both men turned their gazes to the window, remorse weighing heavily on their minds.
-
No texts, no calls, no word of return. It was what you had told them to do, but it didn’t stop the lonely, sinking feeling from invading your chest as you parked your car. You were half tempted to not even go. They gave your diploma whether or not you went to the ceremony and with nobody there to watch you cross the stage, part of you didn’t see the point.
But if you didn’t go, both Spence and Aaron would scold you for it. Besides, you knew how badly they felt about having to leave and if you missed on their account, it would just make things worse.
All you needed to do was sit through all the speeches and get it over with.
“Who needs anyone else?” You said to your reflection. “You are a badass who got two PhDs by the age of twenty-four. You can be your own audience. Come on, Y/N.”
You made a mental note to stop talking to yourself and checked your phone one last time.
Still nothing.
Other graduates filed in and you met with the section you’d be seated with.
First the walk out, then finding your seats, then the speeches. Everything passed in a bit of a blur. The crowd in the bleachers around you all blended together. The longer you sat, the more your mind wandered and darkened.
All this, because of that day.
Ten years ago next week. Right. Next week. Your birthday. Twenty-five years. For most people, it’s a birthday to reflect on changes good and bad in their adult years. For you, it was just another reminder. The ten year anniversary of the worst day of your life.
The first speaker sat down.
Please God, just let this end.
You thought again about what this anniversary meant to you.
Ten years since you’d met Aaron. Would you ever have met if everything hadn’t happened?
 Would you have met Spencer?
Ten years ago, a horrible event changed the course of your life, but would you have changed it? Of course, if you could go back and save Tabby and your friends, you would. Their lives were just beginning and the mind of a twisted-up woman cut them short. But the family you have now, the people who loved you and protected you and made you feel whole again… you wouldn’t trade them for anything.
Somewhere during your time of reflection, they’d finally started reading the names. You had to force yourself not to look too relieved, but it seemed the people you were seated with shared your mildly impatient sentiment. Especially since PhDs would be read last.
You ticked off each person before you. English, engineering, law.
Derek once asked you why you chose two PhDs, rather than just getting a single degree in forensic psychology.
“Well, I’m an overachiever,” you’d joked. “But I think it’s also because they each mean something different to me. Meeting Aaron made me realize that there was so much more to what happened than what everyone was saying. Psychology is to understand why my mom did what she did. Criminology is to try and make sure it doesn’t happen to anybody else.”
Derek had just smiled and shook his head. “Man, you and Reid really are perfect for each other.”
They began reading off the PhDs. Your row stood up and lined towards the stage.
This was it.
Your heart was pounding so much you almost didn’t hear your name being read. As you walked across the stage, a chorus of cheers and applause- and was that an airhorn?- followed. Your eyes tracked the crowd for the source of the sound and your heart swelled at the sight.
They were all here.
Emily and JJ shouted your name. Penelope, of course, brought the airhorn. Derek whistled loudly, his arm slung around Spencer’s shoulders, who beamed down at you with more pride and love than you thought was possible. Dave gave you an approving thumbs up. And at the end of the line, was Aaron.
His gaze found yours. He smiled. He really smiled.
You waved at them as you walked back to your seat, not bothering to hide the tears now streaming down your cheeks.
No, you wouldn't trade them for anything.
They were your family.
-
The waitress led you back to the room Dave had reserved. Spencer’s hand rested on the small of your back. He couldn’t stop looking at you. Ever since you’d met back up at the apartment to change, he hadn’t stopped grinning.
Hell, you were almost late because you couldn’t keep your hands off of each other.
Everyone was already there, waiting for the two of you to arrive. As soon as you stepped in the door, you were greeted by shouts and clapping.
“Is there a doctor in the house?” Derek yelled.
You rolled your eyes playfully and pulled him into a hug. “Wrong kind of doctor, Morgan.”
He smirked. “Whatever you say, Professor Hot Stuff.” Spencer made a face and Derek ruffled his hair. “Aw, don’t worry Pretty Boy, Y/N’s too smart for me.” He winked at you and pat Spence on the shoulder.
You continued around the room, thanking everyone for coming and nearly being tackled in a hug by Penelope.
“I always knew you’d make it, kiddo,” Dave said as you embraced.
Finally, you made it to the other end of the table where your brother stood. Neither of you needed to say anything. You just pulled each other into your arms and let the reality of everything soak in.
You pulled away so you could look up at him. “I couldn’t have done any of this without you.”
He put a hand on your cheek and saw everything you’d become. You weren’t that scared teenager anymore. You were the brilliant, kind, incredible young woman in front of him and he couldn’t help the tears welling in his eyes.
“I’m-” he cleared his throat. “I’m so proud of you.” Before he got too choked up, he took a step back. “There’s someone else here who wanted to say congratulations.”
Jack appeared from behind him, holding a beautiful bouquet of daisies. Haley stood next to him.
“Congratulations Aunt Y/N!” He cheered, handing you the flowers.
You squealed happily, kneeling down so you could pull your nephew into your arms. “Thanks buddy!” You looked down at the flowers. “These are amazing, thank you so much Jack.”
“You’re welcome.”
You stood up, put a hand on his mother’s arm. “Thank you so much for coming.”
Haley nodded. “I wouldn’t miss this for the world.”
There was a look, a moment exchanged between her and Aaron. Neither of them said anything, but even you could feel it.
Everyone found their seats, with you at the end, Spencer and Aaron on one side and Haley and Jack on the other. Under the table, you placed a hand on Spence’s leg. He’d been bouncing it up and down out of nervousness, but you couldn’t tell what he was nervous about.
With everyone else in their own conversations, he leaned over to you.
“I have something for you.” He pulled out a long, thin box from his pocket and set it on the table next to your flowers. “It’s a graduation present and, I guess, something to celebrate moving in together.” His voice was almost a whisper, but you could still hear the intensity mixed with slight anxiousness for what he wanted to say. “I know that we haven’t had an exactly normal relationship, given my job and who I work with, but I wanted to give you something to show how I feel.” He laughed lightly. “Even when I’m not great at saying it.”
Your fingers trembled as you opened the box. Inside, a gold chain held a locket shaped like a small book. His eyes urged you to open it. You read over the words with awe in your voice.
“If it is true that there are as many minds as there are heads, then there are as many kinds of love as there are hearts. Anna Karenina.” You put a hand to your lips and felt another wave of emotion overtake you. “Spencer it’s… this is beautiful.”
“You like it?” He asked.
You pulled him into a kiss. “I love it.”
You stood and he draped the chain around your neck, fingers grazed your skin as he fastened the clasp.
Down the table, Penelope clinked her knife against her glass and called out for you to make a speech. Soon, everyone had joined her.
“I think they want a speech,” Spencer laughed.
“Alright, alright,” you said, holding up your hands.
The room fell quiet and everyone’s heads turned to you.
“Firstly, I just want to say thank you all for being here,” you said. “I can’t even begin to tell you how much this means to me. And thank you Dave, specifically, for booking us the expensive restaurant. Otherwise, we’d have had to make do with Spencer and I’s apartment so-” you applauded him and the group cheered.
You looked around, the emotions in your chest almost becoming overwhelming. Spencer’s hand took yours, grounding you again.
“When I was a kid, I thought I wanted to be an actress. I wanted to be famous and to move far away from Virginia and never look back.” Taking a deep breath, you went on. “And then everything changed. My mom was gone, my friends were dead, and everyone I knew didn’t know how to help. I was a terrified fifteen year old girl who’s world had ended.” You turned to your brother. “And then I met Aaron, this crazy FBI guy telling me that I was actually his sister. At first, I wanted nothing to do with him. What was it I told you?”
He chuckled. “Something along the lines of ‘get lost you lying pig,’ I think.”
Everyone laughed.
You continued. “Well, he was persistent. He knew that my uncle wasn’t fit to take care of a traumatized teenager, so he did everything he could to make sure that I would be okay. After a while, I realized I wanted to help people and to study why bad things happened. I wanted to learn how to stop them. I wanted to be just like him.” You lifted your water glass and everyone did the same. “Thank you, Aaron, for raising me into the person I am now.”
After a moment, everyone applauded and you sat down again. Your brother didn’t say anything, but he looked at you with a pride that only someone who’d watched you grow could truly understand.
Plus, you were pretty sure you caught him wiping away a stray tear.
Dinner was served and the celebratory tone of the evening made the room lively and bright. You talked and laughed and blushed at a few of Haley’s embarrassing stories about your later teenage years. Penelope made a quip about your college relationships and Spencer’s eyes widened. Aaron covered his eyes with his hand.
“You dated your professor?” Spencer exclaimed.
“Traitor,” you said to Penelope, but you couldn’t help but laugh. You put a hand on Spencer’s arm. “That is a story for a different time.”
It was Dave’s turn to share something he remembered from when you were younger when JJ’s phone rang. A collective groan filled the room.
“Sorry guys,” she said. “I’ll be right back. Rossi, keep going.”
She stepped outside and Dave continued his story. When she came back, however, she’d gone white as a sheet and her expression was deadly serious. She hurried to Aaron and whispered something in his ear. You watched them and felt a panic settle in.
Aaron turned to you. “I have to go.”
“What’s wrong?” You knew that look.
“It’s just a possible case, but I should help JJ look into it.” He stood and kissed the side of your head. “I’m really really happy for you, Y/N. I’m sorry I have to leave early.”
“Aaron?” Haley said nervously.
“It’s okay.” He gave you one last look before going into the hall with JJ.
Spencer saw the fear in your eyes. “I’ll go see what I can find out,” he said. He rushed after both of them, catching up just as they got to the parking lot. “Hotch!”
Aaron stopped and turned back. Spencer ran over to him.
“What’s going on?” He asked. Everyone in that room could tell that this wasn’t just a possible case.
JJ answered first. “A man was murdered in Fairfax, Virginia.”
Spencer’s brows drew together. “That’s where Y/N is from.”
“Don’t tell her anything,” Hotch ordered.
“Why?” Spencer gulped. He already knew the answer.
Hotch and JJ looked at each other. He turned to Reid with an expression so intense, it frightened him.
“He was poisoned.”
The exchange between Hotch and Reid left both of them understanding the implications of the situation. The fear. What this would do to you.
The two climbed into the vehicle, leaving Spencer’s mind reeling.
What was he going to tell you?

3 and 37 for ask game if you please :)
(rubs hands together gleefully) you asked about movies. this is my moment. Hold on to your hats, it’s Tentacledwizard Rant Hour.
3 films I could watch for the rest of my life and not get bored of:
FACE/OFF, dir. John Woo. 1997, rated R for faces being taken off, killing and murder, John Travolta licking his fake daughter’s face, pretty much everything you can think of that’s R-rated. Starring Nicolas Cage and John Travolta.
So, I was told I shouldn’t watch this movie because it was “boring” and “terrible.” ok, dad. sure. It proved to be neither! As soon as I finished it I wanted to rewatch it just to observe the nuances in Nick Cage’s acting. And John Travolta’s, but Cage is who I’m really here for. He plays this unhinged, flamboyant villain, then does a complete 180 (body swap, sorta) and plays a straight-laced FBI man PREVIOUSLY played by John Travolta (who, you guessed it, now plays the flamboyant villain).
The acting. The ACTING augh I could analyze it for hours. I’m not even good at analyzing facial expressions and stuff (it is the tism) but the acting skill in this movie made me even more of a Nicolas Cage fan. The sheer range of emotions that wash over his face during a fight scene in a prison. god DAAAAMN. He plays two men in one movie- one who’s just batshit insane and reveling in it, and another who feels like he’s become the former in more ways than just physical.
FBI Man finds himself melting into this persona he’s playing, and he feels perversely drawn towards the villain’s lifestyle. He’s wearing the face of the guy who killed his child, and he’s starting to enjoy it. Meanwhile John Travolta walks around wearing the face and mannerisms of a straight-laced FBI man, and his ascent to power is scary to watch. It’s (rolls around on floor screaming) it’s so good. I haven’t seen A LOT of movies so if you asked me this question in a couple months, my answers here would probably change. However, Face/Off is not moving off this list.
There’s even a funky little evil man who stole scenes from Cage himself. He plays the villain’s brother, Pollux (name sounds like Sollux, and he  points out the inherent eroticism of salmon in documentaries). Something about his line delivery has made me deeply obsessed with him. He and his brother are messed up and evil but they care about each other almost codependently. It’s fascinating to me. Also for some reason the scene where Nick Cage talks about his first date with his wife makes me cry. One second I’m thinking about the scientific inaccuracies inherent in the movie’s plot, and the next I’m looking at Cage’s sad face through a layer of saline. Curse you, sentimentality.
So, yeah, Face/Off is incredibly good. Certainly not perfect, but super fun. Also this is the 90s and all the stunts are entirely practical, which is super sick. The two golden guns are iconic and almost certainly inspired Jake English’s strife specibus, lmao. And… Nick Cage! Yeah I think that’s enough Face/Off thoughts I can put here before this becomes an entire longpost. (checks Face/Off google results) HOLD ON NOW there’s going to be a Face/Off 2? Or is this just a rumor? Woah. I will have to google this.
National Treasure, dir. John Turteltaub. 2004. Rated PG-13 for guns and a mildly suggestive scene because of course they had to put a blonde lady in a mildly suggestive scene, and British people. Stars Nicolas Cage, Justin Bartha, and Diane Kruger.
Yeah ok at this point this is like my default movie. Should I be ashamed for enjoying this? Nuh uh. Life is too short to be ashamed for enjoying a silly action movie. Im killing cringe culture with two golden guns. In other news I have seen this movie eight times, and talked about it to anyone who’d listen. Here is a full review of it that I wrote. When I missed out on a trip to Washington DC, I watched this to really immerse myself in the setting. When my mom and I wanted to watch a film, I put this on and she said “phallus” every time the Washington Monument was onscreen because she’s fun like that. When my best friend whom I love dearly came over, the first thing I did was put on National Treasure. It’s kept me grounded and also gives me a good chuckle at some of the goofier scenes. This movie is a…
It’s a…
The joke is low-hanging fruit, but yeah, it’s a national treasure. This is admittedly Cage at his most mainstream. He’s an action movie hero guy, but in a PG-13 movie made by Disney. When asked about a possible National Treasure 3 in interviews, Cage seems kinda annoyed. I mean hey, I would be too. His acting in this film doesn’t seem like something he’s personally interested in, although he does a good job. However, I think his character’s parallels with Nick Cage’s real life are pretty interesting, especially because the director knew Cage since highschool. More on that later.
Where Face/Off’s selling point was “Nick Cage and John Travolta swap faces,” this one’s is “Nicolas Cage steals the Declaration of Independence.” And then a bunch of other stuff happens, but that one sequence is the best in the entire movie. The parallels and differences between two teams’ methods of stealing the Declaration really got to me. After that, there’s a bunch of adventuring… making leaps in logic… puzzles… what’s not to love! :D I will say that the main character is somewhat casually misogynistic in this film, which makes me grimace every time. He does learn his lesson in the second movie (though he remains pretty static, which frustrates me because there was an OBVIOUS CHANCE for character growth there… hmm maybe I will review nat treasure 2 sometime).
Something I forgot to mention in my full review is that Jon Voight and Harvey Keitel are in this movie, which is quite the slay. However, this means that I ended up thinking of Jon Voight as a Good Guy the next movie I saw him in (Mission Impossible). Uh. so apparently Jon Voight plays a lot of villains. As for Harvey Keitel, he plays an FBI Man. (looks at “Harvey Keitel movies” page) OH SHIT he’s in THAT MANY iconic movies?? That’s awesome. He’s a cool guy!
Ok, let me talk about Jon Turteltaub. So Nick Cage and Jon Turteltaub went to the same high school, and they both wanted the lead role in Our Town. (Trust me on this, I’ve read like three Nicolas Cage biographies.) Turteltaub got the lead role, whereas Cage got the role of Constable Warren. According to this interview, Turteltaub never let him live it down. Ouch. So after that, Cage couldn’t stand Our Town. and then after THAT, Jon Turteltaub went on to direct the National Treasure movies. Guess who stars in National Treasure! Yeah, that’s an anecdote that is just really funny to me. They also collaborated on Sorcerer's Apprentice, which I have yet to see. Nick Cage plays a sorcerer, hells yeah. Now according to Turteltaub, “there’s a lot more Nic in [the sorcerer] than in [the main character of National Treasure].” Yup, that’s pretty much what I thought. (shakes head) Nick Cage movies, amirite? If you really want a lot more National Treasure thoughts, check out my review! Yeah ok that’s enough shilling for myself, ha ha. This is a cool movie and you can watch it whenever, with whoever. Probably. P.S. everyone is at their most autistic swag in this movie. But especially Riley Poole, played by Justin Bartha. I adore him.
3. Anger Management dir. Peter Segal. 2003. Somehow rated PG-13 despite the constant sex jokes. Starring Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson.
Ha ha, PSYCHE. i absolutely hate this movie
3. Employee of the Month dir. Greg Coolidge. 2006. Rated PG-13 for retail working and reference to Vince Downey [Dax Shepard] seducing women in various places around a Costco. Stars Dane Cook, Jessica Simpson, and Dax Shepard.
I really like this movie. What more can I say? It’s a low-budget rom-com from 2006, and the director did not need to go that hard with the gay subtext. But he did! And I am forever grateful. (checks time) it’s getting kind of late, so let me direct you to my super hype review that I wrote a while ago. The reason I wouldn’t get bored of watching this movie is the sometimes batshit, beautiful turns the plot takes. Bam, this rom-com is now randomly a sports movie for a few minutes. Now Vince and his sidekick Jorge are breaking into the main character’s house to make him late for work. I don’t really know how to explain, I just love that kind of thing in a movie. It’s unpredictable and fun in kind of a stupid way.
Also, Jorge and Vince are the emotional core of the movie. Their relationship is messy, but it’s even more sweet and heartfelt than the actual main romance of the story. It’s the romantic B-plot. If Employee of the Month were an Alternian movie, Karkat would go into a huge rant about its portrayal of moirallegiance through Vinzce and… Jorgay (lmao). Pretty similar to what I did in my previous review. If you realllyyyy wanna read a scene-by-scene breakdown of their relationship, check that one out! Actually that one is just me having emotions about them. “OMG THEY HUGGED.” u kno. that sort of thing lmao. @creatcher made some fanart of them kissing yey :D
So, yes, Vince and Jorge are amazing, and Jorge is especially amazing. Can’t wait to see Napoleon Dynamite (his actor plays Pedro in that one). There’s a lot to be said about the character Efren Ramirez plays here, but I doubt I have the expertise to really do a critical analysis. also this is still a low-budget romcom about retail workers. OH yeah also the plot is really funny- the romance turns out to have very little by way of stakes, so it’s actually Zack (played by Dane Cook) competing against Vince for employee of the month. That’s the core conflict of the movie. Well, one of them. They’re literally jousting in a costco like “two gay old sailors” (Vince’s words, not mine). This movie portrayed homestuck quadrants before they were even a thing (refer to a shipping chart @cgtg and i did for more clarity). Employee of the Month is unexpectedly great. Obviously none of the movies on my list are perfect- this one includes some racism/ableism from Vince, and I already mentioned the National Treasure misogyny- but they have a lot of redeeming qualities. And i mean a LOT.  they also all have a short guy for me to be obsessed with. So that’s the three movies I picked, and why I’ll never get bored of them. Hmm. I guess it depends on how many times I watch them!
Share a secret:
Hmmmm ok this is a tough one. uuuh… ok here goes: My darkest secret is that my crush looks exactly like John Egbert. There’s a real person in real life who looks like John Egbert. One cannot fathom the amount of horror this entails. They even have the same taste in movies. The same SHOES. That’s your secret for the day, tune in for more at 10!
Yep, I wrote a lot of stuff for this ask. It was fun, though. I enjoy ranting about movies. Thanks for the qs!

Find more of this OC here!
Hey! I did a rewrite of the ending of Supernatural. It took a really long time to complete, so it would mean a lot to me if you check it out. Here’s a link! (it’s on my personal account)
--------------------------------
I didn't realize how hard it was going to be for me to get back into hunting when I got back.
Sam was trying to be nice and help me, but Dean and I kept bumping heads. It was rough. He just had this wall up to me. He hadn't apologized for the British Men of Letters thing. He refused. Acted like he could ignore it and I'd magically wake up and forgive him.
I wouldn't.
He betrayed me.
He turned his back on me and wasn't even brave enough to admit what he had done.
He just let all of it sit there and fester.
And I wouldn't let him back in unless he showed some form of remorse.
I walked into the map room just as Sam came in with coffee and breakfast. I grinned and nodded at him. Dean was sitting at the head of the table, looking over some article on his laptop.
"Hey," Sam said. "How you feeling?"
Dean stayed silent. I glared at the back of his head for a moment before forcing a grin for Sam's sake.
"I managed to accidentally get Jack to watch Star Wars," I said.
He chuckled, "Accidentally?"
"They walked in while I was watching Clone Wars," I explained. "I said it was easier for them to watch it themself. So… they're on an adventure."
Sam nodded before looking at his brother. I saw his smile falter a little bit.
"What you working on," Sam asked.
"Dead guy in Madison," Dean said bluntly. "Police say it was a home invasion, but neighbor claims that she saw the vic's dead wife leave the crime scene."
"Let's check it out," Sam replied as he made it down the stairs. He handed me one of the coffees.
"What, you ready to ditch Damien," I glared at Dean's nickname. He could at least have the decency to wait until I wasn't around. "What do you wanna do? Leave them in a ring of holy oil with some Netflix and a frozen pizza?"
"Ha," Sam spoke up before I could. "No. Actually, I thought we'd bring them along."
"Are you sure about that," I asked. "We still don't know much about their power yet. Might be risky."
"Yeah, hell no," Dean added. I rolled my eyes. Not what I said, but go off, jackass. "What, 'Adventures in Babysitting' the Antichrist?"
"Not the Antichrist," I corrected. "Kid's sitting in bed watching Jedi fights."
"Yeah, whatever, I still say no, thank you."
"Dean, we can't hide Jack forever," Sam argued. "And just keeping them cooped up here isn't working."
"Yeah, it is, actually," Dean said. "Wanna know why? Because as long they're here, then they aren't out there doing God knows what. So what, does this mean that your plan to bring Mom back isn't working? 'Cause I'll say it again: Mom's dead, Sam. Lucifer ripped her heart out. Now the sooner you can wrap your head around that, the sooner we can all move on."
I felt sick to my stomach. When did Dean start to sound so much like his dad? Was that a new thing or had I just been willingly ignoring it?
"So, you're saying you want to move on, from Mom," Sam asked.
"Right now, I wanna kill some dead guy's dead wife."
"Dean, that isn't what this is about," Sam sighed. "Jack needs to get out. They need to get some air. We all do. They're a good kid. Just give them a chance, please. For me."
That got Dean to finally agree.
I was quick to get my bag packed. Sam offered to grab Jack. I made it to the garage before either of them. Dean was waiting there too.
I looked at the floor, quickly getting in the backseat without saying a word. I only heard Dean sigh.
I only looked up again when the car door opened. Jack got into the seat next to me. I grinned at them. Sam and Dean were mumbling to each other.
"First hunt," I muttered, nudging them with my elbow. "Are you excited?"
"A little bit," they nodded. "Kind of scared."
"That's normal," I promised. "Hunting isn't a fun activity."
"But it can help people."
"Yeah."
The drive to Madison was quiet. Almost suffocating. If the bunker was tense, putting it into the impala almost turned the damn thing into a solid.
As we pulled up to the victim's house, Jack was digging through the fake IDs that Sam and Dean had made through the years.
"I thought lying was wrong," Jack commented. I bit my lip.
"All right," Dean ignored him. "Here we go. Victim: Wes Bailey. His wife, Erica, died six months ago. Heart thing, out of the blue. Question is why'd she come back from the dead and knife his ass?"
"People come back," Jack asked.
"When people pass, and their soul can't move on-"
"They're called ghosts," Dean cut Sam off. "And hanging around makes them go looney tunes. Uh... they go crazy."
"Since when do ghosts kill someone and then walk out the front door," Sam asked.
"Maybe it's a revenant," Dean suggested.
"What's a revenant," Jack muttered to me.
"More like a zombie," I shrugged.
"There's our witness," Dean pointed.
"Okay, we're gonna talk to the witness, check out the crime scene," Sam explained.
"You two stay," Dean leaned down to look through the window. I rolled my eyes.
"You two aren't getting along still," Jack noted.
"It'll pass," I said as I opened my laptop.
Like I did each time they brought it up. Did I believe it? I don't know. Did I think it helped keep Jack from blaming themself? I don't really know that either.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm looking through articles," I replied. "Any information we can find that is connected to this case, the better."
"Then, we should check the crime scene."
"Well, the boys are going- Jack?"
They got out of the car before I could stop them. I tucked my laptop away and follow them into the house.
Jack had stopped right next to a bloodstain. They reached out to touch it.
"No, no, no," I grabbed their arm. "No touching blood."
As we stood up straight, Sam and Dean walked in.
"I told you to wait in the car," Dean snapped. "The hell are you doing?"
"We're trying to help out," Jack explained. "(Y/n) said the more information we can get, the better."
"I was talking about news articles and related cases," I clarified, so the brothers didn't turn this on me.
"How is this helping out," Dean asked.
Sam held a hand up to his brother, "Dean. Thank you, Jack. Did you guys find anything?"
"Nothing new-"
"This," Jack pointed down at the bloodstain.
"We were only in here for a minute," I said.
I walked to a countertop while Sam talked about the EMF reader. I found a calendar with appointments marked off.
"Guys," I said when the EMF reader didn't work. "He was seeing a grief counselor."
"Is that important," Jack asked.
"The counselor would have all of the details on their life. Could be the culprit."
"How about we check the wife's grave to see if it's a revenant," Sam suggested. "If it's not, we'll give the counselor a visit."
We all agreed.
After seeing the body still in the coffin, we were on to the next theory. Dean burned the wife's body as a precaution and then we left.
The next morning, we got reports of another murder. Once again, Jack and I were told to wait in the car.
"Let's actually just wait here this time," I muttered.
Sam and Dean were only at the scene for a few minutes. They asked a few questions, checked for EMF, and then got back in the car.
We stopped at the police department. Sam ran in to grab a file while the rest of us waited outside. Dean sent Jack to grab him some food, making me roll my eyes again. Still, I bit my tongue. It wasn't worth it.
"Where's Jack," Sam asked as he walked out. I pointed to the food truck Dean had sent him to. "Dean."
"It's a food run," Dean explained.
"They aren't our intern," Sam said, seemingly exhausted with Dean's behavior. "I asked you to keep an eye on them."
"I can see them."
I scoffed before I could stop myself. I felt Dean's glare shooting into the side of my head.
"Jack keeps staring at me," Dean complained.
"Because they want you to like them," I spoke up. "Accept them."
"You know what, whatever," Sam held out the file. "Take a look at this."
"What is it," I asked as Dean looked at the file.
"It's a grief journal," Sam said. "Your theory about the counselor seems to be fitting pretty well."
"It was the same counselor," I asked.
"Mia Vallens."
I nodded.
"Shrinks. Snake oil for the mind."
"Or, y'know, licensed professionals that know healthy coping mechanisms," I corrected Dean. I read a few too many psychology books when I was staying with Bobby.
Jack walked over before Dean could respond to me. Sam handed me one of the drinks. I grinned and nodded as a silent thank you.
"So, say this Hannibal chuck is a medium, right," Dean said. "Pisses off a spirit. A ghost shows up, notches a kill, and takes off."
"What if it's a shifter," I offered. "Less complicated. She sees their life stories. We have no EMF."
"Either way, we can't go in as F.B.I.," Sam added.
"Alright, we have to go in as something else," Dean shrugged.
We ended up waltzing into a family therapy appointment. Pretty clever idea on Sam's part. Dean was grumpy. Jack was just kind of following along like a lost puppy. As we made it to the counselor's steps, I touched Jack's arm.
"It's gonna be fine," I promised quietly. "Follow Sam's lead. It'll all work out."
Jack nodded and stuck by my side.
Dean and Sam tried to talk to the receptionist, but the counselor stepped downstairs and looked at us.
"You lost someone recently," she asked.
"No-"
"My mother," Jack cut Dean off.
"Our mother," Sam corrected. "We're having a difficult time."
She invited us to her office to talk after introducing herself to all of us.
"Your mother, she passed quite suddenly," she asked as we all walked in.
It was a plain room. Gray walls with white furniture. The only pieces of color seemed to come from the books and statues on her shelves. Sam and Dean sat on the couch, Jack sat in one of the armchairs, and I sat in another. She took one chair that could easily see the rest of us.
"Uh, yeah," Sam said.
"Most of my clients are the same way," she explained. "No warning, no goodbye, no closure."
"Pretty much the same for us," Sam continued. "So, how does this usually work? With your patients?"
"Usually, they just start talking about the person they're lost."
"Oh, well, Mom was great and now she's dead," Dean snapped. "What's the deal with catharsis?"
"I'm sorry?"
"We were wondering what that is," Sam tried to save the discussion. "A past patient of yours referred us, she's a family friend."
"I don't talk about my patients," she explained. "And they aren't supposed to talk about me."
"Of course, but your process-"
"My program is a range of things," she cut Sam off. "Talk therapy, meditation. You ever journal?"
"Our dad did," Sam answered.
"I did," I said. "I fell off recently."
I ignored Dean and Sam's shocked looks.
"Dean," she nodded to him. "You journal?"
"Ever since I was a little girl."
I bit back an urge to snap at him. What the fuck was that about?
"You think this shrink stuff is a load of crap," she said. "Am I right?"
"How'd you guess?"
"Then why are you here?"
"Because we all agreed we'd give it a shot," Sam jumped in. I would beg him to let Dean sit in the hot seat a little bit longer. "Right?"
We all nodded.
"My brother hasn't been processing his grief," Sam explained.
"Really," Dean asked. "No, I'm good, actually. With death, closure, whole frickin' bottle of Jack."
"Are you," Sam looked at him.
"Yeah. Because I know that Mom's dead, and I know that she's not coming back."
I suddenly found a spot on the floor to stare at. I didn't want to be involved in another discussion about Mary fucking Winchester. She was the wrench thrown into my life. I could empathize with Sam and Dean, but I couldn't keep being reminded of her. Of all that she did.
"Okay, I hear what you're saying," Sam said. "I just wish..."
"You wish he'd be more open to therapy," Mia tried to complete his sentence.
"Sure. Exactly."
"Alright, this is a safe place, right, Doc," Dean asked. "Okay. My brother's delusional."
"Dean," Sam said.
"You said you wanted to give this a shot, right? Here we go. He won't even admit that Mom's dead. Won't even admit it. If he admits it, then it's real."
"Stop," Sam muttered.
"If it's real, then he has to deal with it. And he can't handle that."
"Right, because this is so easy for you, huh?"
"No, it's not easy."
"Yeah, but at least you had a relationship with Mom. Who did she always call? Who did she look to for everything? You had something with her that I never had. And now I'm supposed to accept that I never will have it?"
Sam stood up and stormed out of the room.
"(Y/n)," I almost jumped when she said my name. "How have you been dealing with this?"
"I... Well... I didn't have a great relationship with her when she passed," I said, feeling Dean stare me down. "She... She sided with some people who were really, really bad to me. She got Sam and Dean to go along with her. I left to stay with a friend. She passed while I was gone."
"You feel like there's something there that never reached potential?"
"I wanted to trust her," I blinked away the tears in my eyes. "She couldn't hold up her end of that."
"And Sam and Dean," she continued. "How has this strain affected your relationship with them?"
"Sam apologized as soon as he saw me again," I explained. "Kept saying that I deserved better. Dean... Dean hasn't said much."
"(Y/n) won't grieve because it's easier to see Mom as a villain."
"I never said that-"
"That's why you're still holding a grudge," he cut me off. "You want someone else to blame for you running away from your family."
"She wasn't my family. Family doesn't do that."
"Family doesn't run. They stick together. Thought you'd know better."
It sounded so much like John. Every ounce of it. There was no way he didn't hear it.
"Okay, John," I stood up, watching his jaw clench at the name I called him. "I'm done. I am so done."
I walked out of the room and met Sam near the water dispenser.
He saw me and immediately pulled me into a hug.
"I want to go home," I muttered.
"I know," he replied. "Just gotta get this job done."
I nodded, hugging him a little tighter. I stepped back slowly. He handed me a little disposable cup of water. I chuckled, thanking him quietly.
I took a sip just as Sam's attention latched onto the sign blocking off the stairs. I looked over at it before glancing at the receptionist's desk. He was gone.
I dropped the cup in the trash before walking over. Sam followed close behind me.
When I didn't spot anyone by the stairs, I climbed over the sign and slowly started walking up. I stopped a few steps from the top. There was blood on the banister.
I hit Sam's shoulder and pointed over at it.
He nodded at me, and we both grabbed our guns.
The upstairs was empty. The first door we checked led to a small bathroom. There was blood on the shower curtain.
As Sam turned on the light, I grabbed the edge of the material. After a deep breath, I whipped it open.
There was skin in the bottom of the bathtub. A lot of it.
"Shifter," I muttered as Sam walked over. "I knew she had something to do with this."
"You have a radar for shifter cases," Sam said as he used something to pick up a piece of skin. "Seem to catch onto them really fast."
"Thanks, it's the personal trauma," I mumbled before turning around to start running back to the room Dean and Jack were sitting in.
We froze outside the door for a moment before heading in with guns drawn.
"She's a shape-shifter," Sam said.
"No, no," Mia held her hands up and backed away toward the wall.
Dean pulled out his gun as he stood up and moved next to Sam. Jack stepped behind me.
"We found hair and teeth," Sam explained. "You must've shed your skin just a couple of hours ago."
"And here I just thought she was annoying," Dean muttered.
"What's going on," Jack asked.
"Doc's a monster," Dean replied. "She killed her patients."
"No," she repeated. "No, no. I am what you say, but I have never killed anyone."
"Then what are you doing here," Sam asked.
"I'm helping people. My patients. I shift into the person they've lost so that they could see them one last time, so that they can say goodbye."
"Well, Wes Bailey, Gloria Simon," Dean listed. "They're both dead."
"What?"
"Gloria was killed by her son, or at least someone who looked like him," he continued.
"Three nights ago, Wes was killed by somebody who looked like his dead wife," Sam added.
Mia seemed stunned. Completely caught off-guard.
"Wanna tell us how you're innocent again," Dean asked.
"Okay, um," she took a deep breath. "I have an alibi for Wes. I volunteer at the women's shelter downtown. I was there that night. You can call them."
There was a moment of silence.
"I know you guys are hunters," she said. "But please, I am telling you the truth."
Dean stepped out to call the women's shelter and check her story. It was only a minute that he walked back in and said that it checked out. I lowered my arm.
"Well, if you're not doing this, then who is," Sam asked.
Mia was silent for a moment, "Oh, God. I think I know."
She walked over to a metal drawer and pulled out a small box. She held out a photo of some guy.
"His name's Buddy," she said. Dean snagged the picture from her. "When we got together, I was young and stupid. He's a shifter, like me. The only one I'd ever met other than my mother. But he liked to hurt people."
"Did he hurt you," Jack asked. The first time I had heard them speak up since we walked in the door.
Mia nodded, now avoiding eye contact, "I left. Changed my face, my name. Buddy wouldn't just kill people. He'd ruin their lives. He said he liked to see the look on their faces when they realized they had nothing left. What I'm doing here... I know it can't make up for what... what he... what we did, but I'm trying."
"If it's him, he's targeting your patients," I looked at Sam and Dean. "He had to get in here somehow. He couldn't know enough about these people otherwise."
"Who else has access to your office," Sam asked her. "Your notes, your appointments?"
"Patients and staff are in here all day," she replied.
"If you had to pick one," Dean pushed.
"Uh... Tom, my assistant," she said.
"I'll check it out," Dean muttered.
"I'll come with," Jack offered. Dean almost stopped them, but Sam cleared his throat.
"Fine. Whatever," he muttered before he and Jack left.
"Do you have security cameras," I asked after they had left.
Mia nodded and walked us to a computer set up.
As we started going through the footage, Dean called. Tom had been cleared. All we could do now was hope that we managed to spot someone's eyes flash in the camera.
"So... tell me," Sam tried to make conversation while we looked. "How exactly does this work with your patients? You show up as their dead relatives, and they think what?"
"Honestly, they don't really care," she replied. "They chalk it up to hypnotism, a lucid dream. They explain it away because at the end of the day they get to say goodbye."
"And that works," he continued.
"People... we're hardwired to want closure," she shrugged. "You never got a chance to say goodbye either, did you?"
"There," I said, cutting Sam off before he had to respond. I pointed at the man we had passed on the way in. Sam rewound the footage. "Flicker."
"Who's that," Sam asked.
"That's John Dristoll," Mia explained. "I only started seeing him a few weeks ago."
"We need to track him down," I said. "Do you have an address?"
She nodded, going to grab a file. She handed it to us as we walked out the door.
We found the address pretty fast. The guy hadn't been too far from her office, probably hoping it would help him keep an eye on her.
I tucked a silver dollar into my hand as we got out of Mia's car and started heading up toward the house.
"The door's open," I said, jogging over to it.
"(Y/n), wait," Sam followed me. "He could still be inside."
"And leave the door open?"
"Ever heard of a trap?"
I paused, "Good point."
I pulled my gun out and walked inside. Sam followed close behind me.
Nothing.
There was no sign of anyone there at all.
We drove back to the office in silence. As we walked in, we both looked at each other. It was faint and wasn't clear, but we had heard someone yell.
I pulled my gun out again.
Sam took the lead, heading towards the office.
"Sam! We're in here!"
I grabbed Sam's arm as he put the gun away, "Dean would come out here. Or tell us why he couldn't. He wouldn't say something so basic."
He paused before nodding and holding his arm up again.
As we pushed the door open, Buddy- who had been pretending to be Dean- was thrown into the far wall. Sam pulled me to the side as a bullet went into the door next to us.
Buddy started standing up. Sam fired a quick shot at him as I started heading over to Jack and Dean.
"Are you okay," I asked Jack, touching their arm. They nodded. They didn't seem seriously hurt, just exhausted.
I nodded back and grinned at them.
I looked at Dean, "Hey, Dean."
I grabbed the sides of his face so I could look at him. I patted his cheek a few times. He blinked at me as he adjusted to his surroundings.
"There he is," I said. "How are you feeling?"
"Like I just got hit in the head really hard."
"Don't be a dick," I replied.
Sam tossed me the keys to the handcuffs. I undid them as fast as I could. I jumped a little when Dean pulled me into a hug. I slowly hugged him back. It was nice.
I stood up a few moments later, helping Dean off the floor. As Dean and Sam spoke with Mia about what to do with Buddy's body, I grabbed Jack.
We stepped outside the room for a minute.
"How are you feeling," I asked.
"Tired," they replied. "I... I used my powers though. They worked."
"I know," I nodded. "I'm proud of you."
"Mia... She took the form of my mom," they continued. "She let me say goodbye to her. Talk to her."
"How was that," I was already grinning.
"It was nice. Really nice."
I hugged Jack, closing my eyes for a moment. They deserved that. I was happy for them.
We made the drive back to the bunker that night.
After putting my bag away, I went into the kitchen. Water and sleep were the top of my priority list at the moment.
Dean was standing at the fridge when I walked in.
I almost turned around.
"Kid," he said before I had a chance. I looked at him as he closed the fridge door. "Can we talk?"
I felt a pit in my stomach.
"Please?"
I nodded.
He motioned over at the table.
"What happened at Mia's... that wasn't okay," he started. "I shut you down and I'm sorry-"
"You don't think that's why I'm upset, do you?"
"Well, I didn't think it was the only thing-"
"Dean, I couldn't care less about that damn therapy appointment," I said. "I care about everything before it."
He looked down.
"You keep trying to avoid it," I let out a sigh. "Nothing's going to change if you can't take some accountability for what happened. You worked with an organization that tried to kill me. You would've rather watched me leave than fought back against them. And then, I come back, and you don't say anything to me. You shut me out. Won't talk about what happened. You are upset with me for being upset about what Mary did to me. I can't win here, Dean."
He looked at me again.
"I want to trust you, but... I can't trust someone who won't even admit he did anything wrong."
I wiped my eyes, barely having noticed that I had started crying.
"I just want to know that you get it," I muttered. "I want the Dean who raised me back. I... I want my dad back."
"I am right here," he promised, leaning forward. I shook my head. "I... I know I messed up. And I should've talked to you and I should've apologized. Hell, I shouldn't have let you leave in the first place."
It was the first time in weeks that I felt like I was seeing a genuine part of him.
"Until you called me by my dad's name, I didn't fully realize what I had been doing," he continued. "I... I betrayed you. And I tried to claim it was for the greater good. I shouldn't have given a shit about that. Because you're my kid. You should've come first. No matter what. And I am so sorry."
Dean reached over and touched my arm.
"I don't care how long it takes. I don't care what hoop you want me to jump through. I just need the chance. I will do anything to prove that I am sorry and that I am on your side. I'm right here, kid. I'm not going anywhere. I'm not leaving you behind again."
I placed my hand over his.
"Okay?"
I nodded, trying to stop my crying.
"Come here."
Dean stood up and pulled me out of my spot. He hugged me tightly. I closed my eyes and hugged him back.
"Come on," he said after a minute as he stepped back. He grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of the kitchen and into the library.
"What are you doing," I asked.
He stopped next to the table and held a knife out to me.
"What?"
"Sam and I carved our initials into this table," he pointed down at the carved "SW" and "DW". "It's your turn."
I grinned and took the knife from him.
I froze for a moment. I was contemplating what I should be carving. After a minute, I grinned and started carving.
I stepped back a minute later, setting the knife on the table.
"Three letters," Dean pointed out.
I nodded, pointing at each letter as I said what they meant, "(Y/n) (Y/l/n)... Winchester."
Dean froze for a minute before smiling and pulling me into another hug. I hugged him back.
"Love you, kid."
"Love you too, Dean."

Controversial Disney Opinions
1) Austin and Ally should have stayed just friends. Sure, I ate that shit up when I was like 10 but now I’m older, I know better and they had zero chemistry. Any other ship between the ships on the show would be marginally better than a*slly. I am not saying this because of the Raini and Ross rumours, I’ve had this opinion for quite some time.
2) I disliked Mason and hated Alex and Mason together. Mason is jealous to an almost possessive degree; he eats Alex’s ex boyfriend (hilarious ep tho), he ruins Alex’s award ceremony because he was jealous of the beast tamer, when Alex and Mason are broken up, he is relentlessly pushy in getting them back together, even when she reject him. He also told Juliet that he loved her, which was apparently because of his werewolf hormones but even then, that would mean there were some feelings there. He also never truly accepted her for who she was, for example in the Alex vs Alex movie, he is pissed at her for using magic to make them lunch and he along with her family tell her how selfish she is and how she needs to grow up and change. Alex deserved so much better.
3) Andi was my favourite character from Andi Mack. She was selfish? She was overdramatic and complained a lot? Well she was 13 and going through a major life change, cut her some slack.
4) Riley was way too overhated. She was naive and detached from reality? Her parents raised her to be sheltered and her best friends continued sheltering her. She was way too coddled but that was not her fault. Personally, her and Farkle were my favourite characters on the show.
5) I never liked Gordo and Lizzie together. I just hate the trope where person A pines over person B while person B is not really/barely interested.
6) I don’t ship Phineas and Isabella together for the same reasons stated in 5).
7) I actually like Ferb and Isabella together. I just think their personalities would mesh better together and there were a bunch of small hints. For example, there was this one scene in the Summer Belongs to You movie where Isabella is crying over Phineas who is oblivious about Isabella being sad, while Ferb comforts her. Isabella says, “I wish he/someone would the sunset with me” and who was watching it with her? Ferb. To me, that scene just showed that Ferb understands emotionally her more than Phineas and I feel like Isabella is more calm with Ferb because she isn’t obsessing over ever interaction between them. And you may argue that she is obsessive because she has a crush, however you can have really strong romantic feelings for someone and not spend your time obsessing over them.
8) I was rooting for Candace. Not because I think the boys should be punished but because I was sick of their mom bad-mouthing Candace behind her back to her friends and treating her like she was crazy. It made me so mad. Also how was it possible that the whole town except for her knew about the contraption Phineas and Ferb were building.
9) Vanessa dating Ferb at the end ruined her character. Vanessa has known Ferb since she was 16 and he was 10(?). In the ep where they’re all going off to college, I’m pretty sure they say/imply that they’ve been dating for a year. So either Vanessa started dating him when he was 17 and she was 24 or they started dating when he turned 18. Even then, she wouldn’t magically catch feelings for him when he turned 18, she had to have feelings/some sort of connection to him before. So a 24 year old Vanessa had feelings for a minor, the same minor that she knew when he was 10 and she was 16. Absolutely vile and disgusting. This ship makes me furious and I can’t believe this was written, let alone approved.
10) ‘Act Your Age’ didn’t make sense. Baljeet said that they didn’t tell Phineas that Isabella had a crush on him because they don’t talk about feelings but that is really OOC. Baljeet literally told Phineas and Ferb about his feelings for Mishti and about his feelings of getting a bad grade, so the claim that they don’t talk about their feelings is completely false. They are all so close and Phineas’ best friend is literally his brother who he spends 24/7 with. You’re telling me that they would shy away from telling Phineas about Isabella’s feelings if they thought he liked her? The only plausible reason that makes sense is that no one in their friend group thought that Phineas liked Isabella back and they didn’t want Isabella to get rejected.

Nostalgically looking through Digimon Survive prerelease footage and noticing that Saki looked a LOT younger in the early builds. Makes me wonder if her character was also going to be substantially different. Mild spoilers for Saki’s character ahead.
I've seen a lot of people say that Saki doesn’t really feel like a 12-year-old. I believe this is intentional. There’s dialogue in the game that alludes to the fact that Saki looks a bit older than she actually is, which means that this is something that’s true in-universe that the characters take notice of.
I think Saki makes a lot of small choices, conscious or unconscious, to make herself seem just a little bit older. The way she carries herself, her makeup, stuff like that. She tries to come across more like a teenager than the pre-teen she actually is. There’s a lot of different reasons why that could be, but given that her central character conflict is about being honest with her emotions, I think she suffered from a series of small invalidations over the course of her life that has led to her wanting to construct a persona that would be taken a bit more seriously.
Not to get too personal, but when I was younger, I had to go to frequent doctor’s appointments for a medical condition, much like Saki. Something I remember from that time is that that it felt like I was constantly being reprimanded for things I felt no fault at all for. A lot of doctors and nurses were very rough with me and ignored me when I said something hurt, and my mom once told me she was embarrassed to be seen with me because of “how much of a scene” I caused every time. (This was mostly just me crying when the nurse took 10+ pokes to find my vein).
All that said, I think Saki probably had similar experiences at the early stages of her sickness, and was chided for being too “childish” for complaining about the doctor’s appointments, which made her think she’d be taken more seriously if she seemed a bit older. Along with other experiences, she came to believe that her authentic self was fundamentally “wrong” somehow, and thus began the character arc we see in-game. Given that she’s heavily implied to be some flavor of sapphic, this may tie into that as well.
Given that she was drawn to look a fair bit younger in the beta, however, maybe she was originally going to have a fairly different character. At the very least, she probably wouldn’t have been considered to look older than she is in-universe. Given the way this game is written, that probably would have had some difference. Very little in Survive comes across as superfluous fluff unrelated to characterization to me.

What is your favorite scene that you have written for Parfait so far?
I haven't written anything on paper (cos i dont know which writing format would be appropriate for it, i know, its embarassing) but I have a scene of how Florabelle and Parfait became girlfriends
One day, before Tombsteel and the Ironites came to Prettiopia, Florabelle invited Parfait to visit a field covered in roses. When Parfait asked why, Flora reveals she planted this entire field just for her and gives Parfait one of the roses to keep. Overcome with emotion, Parfait broke down crying. She tearily replied how she cant accept this because she doesnt deserve such a gift and that she feels she's a barely qualified princess. Florabelle had noticed her best friend's self deprecation but she never got the full story of why shes like this. So Flora presses her for answers on why she feels so negatively about herself all the time, Parfait confessed that ever since her mother died, she always felt like a burden. Here's some of the dialogue:
Parfait stared at Flora's saddened expression and stood there in fear and unease. She mustered up enough courage to tell her friend why she couldnt accept this lovely gift:
Papa wants me to be like mom. She was graceful, demure, delicate, a storybook queen. But no matter how hard I try, I can't be like her. So I try to be myself, but even thats not good enough. said Parfait, struggling to hide the tears in her eyes.
Why cant you tell your dad to stop pressuring you to be a certain way. Florabelle replied, increasingly worried for her best friend's uneased state.
He's probably just preparing me for the job. Dad just wants whats best for me. He said it himself, he thinks i have potential to be queen someday. But until then, I have to make him proud. I have to... I owe it to him. said Parfait.
Do you really? Florabelle questioned.
I want to...He's the only family i have. A-aand he's sick... Parfait answered, slightly quivering in fear and voice cracking under the pressure of the words she just spoke.
Yeah... its a difficult situation. But still you shouldnt put so much pressure on yourself.
Flo, I have to prove I can be a competent leader in my dad's absence. I cant just dance around, hang out with friends and party... Which means I have to put my own feelings aside. My own happiness. Everyone loves me and thinks im the best... But I'm not... i'm so used to giving and being kind to others. Parfait remarked.
But what about being kind to yourself. Flora noted back
Cos its selfish. said Parfait.
No. There's a difference. Florabelle curtly replied, her paws on Parfait's shoulders.
Not to me, there isnt. Flo, you put so much effort, love and care into all this but its not my birthday, Papa's birthday or the Prettiopia's founder's anniversary. This flower, this field... I cant have this. Parfait replied with dread and guilt.
Why? We're best friends, we can give gifts to each other anytime
Exactly! Because its from you, its special. Its meaningful. You know how much I love roses and you planted a whole field of them! If it was Rags giving me a spinning top or something, thats one thing. But youve made me something special. So special that I cant have it. said Parfait.
Why? replied Florabelle
Cos I can't, okay? said Parfait.
WHY?? said Florabelle, raising her voice slightly.
BECAUSE IM NOT WORTHY OF THIS!!" Parfait yells, tears streaming down her face.
All I'm worthy for is for throwing parties, making people laugh, hosting ceremonies and festivals, BIG events. All my life, Dad never thought i would amount to anything but now that im being regent in his place, it's my chance to finally prove I can be the heir he's always dreamed of and...the daughter he wants to love... Parfait confessed, now turning away to stop Flora seeing her in this embarrassing state.
Fayfay... Florabelle whispered sympathetically.
So, please, Flo. I cant accept this... please dont hate me... said Parfait, tears clouding her vision, as she gives back the rose. After a moment of silence with Parfait's barely audible sobbing, Flora grabs Parfait's paw and puts the rose back. Parfait looks up, confused and afraid, Flora rushes in to give her a big hug and a kiss on the cheek.
Flo? Parfait questioned, confused.
I love you. replied Florabelle
Oh. Oh sprinkles... y-you do?? said Parfait, now blushing like an apple. She never realised her best friend had feelings for her. In hindsight, she shouldve seen that coming.
Heehee, for a while. answered Florabelle.
Oh, i feel stupid now. Why didnt I see the signs? said Parfait.
Fay, even future queens cant read minds. replied Florabelle
The girls laugh.
Listen I dont know whats going on inside your head or what your dad's like, but I want to be there for you. Florabelle declared, holding Parfait's paws.
Flo... Me too. said Parfait, before she knew it, a warm relaxed smile stretched across her face, causing Flora to smile back.
What are ya smiling for? said Parfait.
This is the first time I ever see you smile like that. Whenever you're on stage or hosting a party, you smile all the time. But this one you got on? I want to see that smile more often, if thats okay with you. said Florabelle.
Fine with me, girlfriend. Parfait replied, beaming with joy.
Florabelle and Parfait both clip on roses on their dresses, symbolising their love for each other and hold hands as they walk and laugh into the horizon.
-----------
So yeah thats what ive got so far. its a work in progress but I thought it was a lovely scene showing how Flora, despite not knowing the full story of Parfait's situation, shes still willing to love and support her and Parfait reciprocates, finally happy to be with someone who loves her unconditionally. Any changes I need to make, please let me know.

•TV show: "Criminal minds".
•Content warnings: A teenage girl's death, a mother losing her only child, a son losing his mom at a very young age, both of them still missing the girl, mentions of electroshock and the marks it left on people, the possibility of the girl having died because of it and the hospital staff having gotten rid of her body, the girl wanting her mom to take her home and the mother being unable to because of something her daughter's boyfriend had decided, the girl trying to run away from the hospital but being unable to, the girl being considered mentally ill because she is gay, her having cheated on her boyfriend and her mother at first thinking they were doing the right thing for her child, but now feeling guilty about leaving her.
•Some of the lines are almost the same that are in a scene of the "Cold case" episode this story is inspired by. I did modify them a bit, though. I didn't just copy and paste them.
•I'm sorry if Emily and her mother are out of character. I just thought it made sense for the story to make them the way they are in this chapter.

The bridge to Heaven
Chapter 15: A mother's guilt
Two days later, as soon as the retirement home the woman lived in was opened to visitors for the day, around 10 am, David and his wife went to visit Elizabeth Prentiss.
Part of them didn't want to bother Emily's mother again by bringing memories related to the death of her only child to light, but they knew they had to do it if they wanted Elizabeth to know the truth and Emily to get justice.
When they arrived in Elizabeth's bedroom, they found the woman sitting on the sofa next to her bed, with her grandson Declan next to her.
Although he was over 40 years old and also a father by that time, the man was crying desperately, while his grandmother held him in her arms.
"I know she cheated on him, but it was just a kiss, nothing more. Why did Dad have to send Mom to that place? I want my mom" Dave and Erin heard him say through his tears, and their hearts broke for that man who inside, was partly still a small child hoping his mother would come home.
"It wasn't about the kiss, Declan. There was a lot more to that situation. Your mum wasn't sick, but at the time she was believed to be. I'm very sorry" Elizabeth tried to explain, great sadness evident in her voice.
Then, when she looked up and saw Erin and David, she let her grandson cry some more for a few minutes, then she asked him to leave the room while she talked to the writer and his wife.
"We know what happened to Emily" David told her as soon as Declan had left the room "Not the whole story, but most of it. Why did you agree to send your daughter to Brockview?".
"I thought I was doing the best thing for Emily, but when I went to visit her a week after her hospitalization, I realized that wasn't the case" Elizabeth explained "As soon as she saw me, my daughter started screaming and crying, begging me to take her back home. She wanted to come back to me, but Dr. Kearns wouldn't let me take her away. Apparently, Ian had asked him to give only him the chance to get Emily out of there".
"And how long did she stay there?" David asked her.
"Seventeen days, then she died" Elizabeth replied through the tears that were now running down her cheeks "She had tried to escape a couple of times, it seems. Once they caught her and brought her back, the other time she gave up herself. She was probably afraid that I would agree with Ian and send her back to that place. That's why she didn't come to me".
Instinctively, without even thinking about what she was doing, Erin took the woman's hand and squeezed it.
She was a mother too and although she didn't believe she could have been capable of sending one of her children to such a place, she empathized with Elizabeth Prentiss a little and had compassion for her.
She couldn't even imagine what it was like to live with that guilt for all those years.
"Thank you for your help, Mrs Prentiss" Dave then told her, before saying goodbye to Elizabeth and leaving the room with his wife.
"They gave her that dress at the hospital" was the first thing Erin said to her husband when they got to their car "The electroshock explains the marks on her temples".
"During that therapy something went wrong and Emily died, and then the nurses got rid of her body" David responded, thinking he had finally found the solution to that case.
Unfortunately, however, even if only slightly, he and his wife were still off track.

Guess what? You’ve died. Rumor has it that you were trampled by a pack of buffalos. Gruesome, I know.
You’re in heaven now, gods a nice being doesn’t hate anybody, etc. and they fucking love movies in heaven.
Films to Be Buried With questionnaire:
What was the first-ever film you saw, or remember seeing?
What was the film that scared you the most, and do you like being scared?
What was the film that made you cry the most, and are you a cryer?
What film is TERRIBLE but you love it?
What is the film you once loved but watching it recently you realise it’s terrible?
What is the film that means the most to you, not because of the film itself, but because of the memories, you have of it?
What is the sexiest film?
What’s a film that isn’t probably supposed to be sexy but you found yourself turned on by?
Which film do you most relate to?
Which film is objectively the greatest ever?
Which film is the one you’ve watched the most?
What’s the worst film you’ve ever seen?
What is the film that’s made you laugh out loud the most?
Who do you want to have a movie night with when you get there? (Famous people.)
What was the first-ever film you saw, or remember seeing?
Star Wars 2 (Attack of the Clones) people were dressed up as Jedis at the theater I saw it at, and 4 year old me, was awestruck. There were lightsabers
What was the film that scared you the most, and do you like being scared?
When I was little, I was terrified of “The Dark Crystal” and I still find it scary as an adult, like the scene when they’re beating up the other bird thing, and when the old bird is dying, and the fire, Jesus, I hate it.
What was the film that made you cry the most, and are you a cryer?
Ghost, with Patrick Swayze makes me sob every time I watch it. I’m not a crier, but that movie gets me in every way possible.
What film is TERRIBLE but you love it?
The Frighteners. Objectively, it’s pretty bad, the cgi is bad even if you remember it was the 90s, but I love Michael J Fox, he’s my hero, and I fucking love that movie.
What is the film you once loved but watching it recently you realise it’s terrible?
Not terrible in an objective sense, but the cgi in Toy Story did not hold up and I truly hope they remake it someday with modern animation abilities.
What is the film that means the most to you, not because of the film itself, but because of the memories, you have of it?
Dirty Dancing. When I was little, if I stayed home sick from school, it meant my mom and I watched dirty dancing and ate ice cream.
What is the sexiest film?
Ghost. I’m an artist, so that pottery scene, really gets me going.
What’s a film that isn’t probably supposed to be sexy but you found yourself turned on by?
Jurassic Park, for all the wrong fucking reasons.
Which film do you most relate to?
Midnight in Paris. It’s a shit movie, but it’s Owen Wilson, wandering around Paris and getting to go back in time to meet the great artists, Dali, and Picasso, and it’s just, like everything I wish was true.
Which film is objectively the greatest ever?
Back To The Future. I think it’s flawless, and it gives Spielberg vibes despite being a Zemekis, I fucking love it. Comedic timing is perfect, writing is great, and I think it’s one of the few that stands up without becoming offensive over the years.
Which film is the one you’ve watched the most?
Jurassic Park. It’s my comfort movie to be honest, I love the CGI, and I just think it’s beautiful, and I honestly kind of enjoy the dinosaur violence
What’s the worst film you’ve ever seen?
Napoleon Dynamite. I live in Utah so it’s a big deal here, but I hate it.
What is the film that’s made you laugh out loud the most?
We’re the Millers had me cackling on Sunday actually.
Who do you want to have a movie night with in heaven? (Famous people)
-Michael J Fox (alive currently, but by the time I actually die, I don’t think he will be. Sue me.)
-Freddie Mercury
-Robin Williams

I finally finished Stargirl today and that was one of my favorite series finales ever and one of my favorite shows. I know that parts of it were most likely hastily thrown together since the show was cancelled, but I still loved it. The scene where “Sylvester” tells Pat that he’s just a sidekick and was a distraction before Courtney lets him know that Pat is her hero and that Pat is her father was beautiful and I want it on a constant loop in my head. Rick being in pain because of the limiter being removed and the whole team gathering around him because they wanted him to stop being in pain, even if it meant not being able to help them made me cry. The death of the Crocks was so sad; I loved them so much, and they were truly Pat and Barbara’s best friends in the end there. I sobbed at the scene where Artemis threw the weight in her room and Barbara comes in to give her a hug, telling her to come back to their house.
I spent the last hour of the show crying, probably more than that really. I was truly shocked that Sylvester ended up being the Ultra-Humanite and while I’m not sure if the twist was planned from the beginning, it made sense with how they explained it. I do wonder if we’ll ever find out what happened to his brain that’s just been sitting there in a vase for 9 months, in agony over Pat. Beth asking her parents to be her sidekicks and them being closer than ever, leading to Yolanda calling her mom to tell her the truth—even though things had been rocky and her mom definitely has some apologizing to do to her daughter. I was so happy they followed up with Mike getting to see his mom again and getting the closure; yes, I did start sobbing again when he called Barbara “mom.”
The Mahkents: so glad the grandmother died. I was getting sick of her. My favorite Mahkent is the grandfather; he’s a sweet, precious old man who needs to be protected. Cameron is sweet and I hope he gets ahold of his powers and doesn’t let the grief and rage overcome him, like his father. Jordan looking at his son and telling him not to force him to do what Brainwave did to his son floored me. Courtney said exactly what I was thinking. I appreciate Artemis getting her revenge and not leaving me hanging there.
I do need to know if we are ever going to get answers for any of what happened: What did the Flash come and get Shade for? What are they doing with the whole brain situation with Sylvester and are they going to keep him on life support for the rest of his life? Did they find any of the other JSA member’s kids? Are we going to get to actually see Beth and Rick’s wedding? Did they actually get married since the Flash came and stole The Shade away? Did Yolanda’s parents ever apologize to her for the way they treated her over a mistake and her later being a victim? Did the Dugans just end up adopting all the stray kids? I need to know!

Tbh I have never seen a villainess manga/manhwa where the FL is like Oh youre cheating on me??? Well let me have a good time and get a lover as well, because if you get to have one I do too. Like all those humiliating situations FLs go through with their husband and mistress would be a lot more even if they had their own lover. Like oh you wanna flaunt your mistress to everyone and dance with her at social events? Well here is my lover/mistress right by my side and Imma dance with them and not mind you. The husband is saying the FL is cold and arrogant and cannot show love? Well here is once again her own lover/mistress to prove you wrong because guess what someone was fucking your wife last night and it wasnt you
Honestly there are probably some that exist! From what I've seen, the manhwa community is similar to the manga community in that it follows trends and many things can be published or produced at once, so maybe it's a matter of trying to shift through all the bulk?
I think the thing that's infuriating is most of these dudes are such fucking chumps that they would get jealous, but their reaction would probably be to tell their FL "oh, you're clearly doing this just for my attention, how childish of you" and it's like fine call me bozo the clown because I'm about to get a wacky creampie from your brother/rival
Honestly I wish the story existed where it's like "you know what crown prince? Not only am I leaving you, im leaving you for your father the emperor. I'm your mom now boy, go to your room"
I have been reading so many Villainess/Revenge manhwa and I honestly can't recall any like you're saying. The closest thing I can think of is a scene from "I Want To Become The Emperor So I Need A Divorce" where the husband's lover's uncle who runs a theater company is hosting a play meant to mock the FL, and when her shit husband asks what she thought of the play, and she lied and said it was nice and then he goads her further to start reciting her favorite line, she calls his fucking bluff and walks up to the actor that had played her husband and starts reciting exact lines, but in such a way it seems like she is genuinely flirting with the actor, and she even puts a royal gemstone on his finger to symbolically say "you're as good as the duke" and he gets so fucking mad he basically had the entire theater company ruined
I just want to watch garbage men be ruined, like I am actively seeking out stories where women leave their shit partners and enjoy watching them mald and seethe while living a better life with their new partner. I can't wait for the final season of Remarried Empress, and Father I Dont Want This Marriage, and kt isn't a romance but I think I will DIE if I never see the ending of Actually I Was The Real One because that fucking bitch tried to steal her family! And I also found an extremely similar manywa that's brand new called The Saintess Returns as a Villain and maybe that will be good but it is still too early to tell.
And you know what, I know a good revenge manhwa but it's more revenge in the form of "you neglected me and made me feel like shit so im running away and cutting you out of my life and even when I need support you aren't good enough" and that would be The Time Of The Terminally Ill Extra. It hasn't updated it forever so im afraid it might be dropped but it's about a girl who has been shoved to the side for the sake of her sickly younger sister who she has had to compromise everything for, even entering school late to take care of her, giving her her toys, being trained to never disobey or show she's unhappy because even when she cries she's told "how dare you cry when your sister is in pain?". Well, it turns out the FL is terminally ill, even sicker than her sister, amd she decides to run away and never even tell her family, who initially don't even care she's missing and then proceed to not believe it when they are told their daughter is fatally sick. I might actually start reading the novel because the story has me so invested. The FL has an uncurable illness called Artist's Disease where she can bring to life anything she draws but at the cost of her own life, but her family neglected her so fucking much they never even knew she liked to draw or noticed how extremely gifted she was, which, the extreme talent is a symptom of Artist's Disease because their abilities are "blessings", and if her family had noticed and gotten her diagnosed earlier she wouldn't be dying. But even as it's killing her, she refuses to stop drawing because it's her passion and joy. She grew up so lonely that as a child she would draw fairies and other people to talk to her and be her friends and her art is extremely personal to her that she would literally die than give it up. I really hope this manhwa finishes like I have heard spoilers about because it sounds like everything turns out alright in the end, but not before massive heartbreak 🥺

My Only 12% - episode 13
This got very very sad, so I will start off with the joyful (and pixelated) screenshot of Cake gazing up at See-eiw with the biggest heart eyes ever. He has so much love in his face whenever he looks at Eiw.
So. The happy first half. Their first morning after. I loved how it felt different and special and yet still like every other morning they woke up cuddled together in the same bed. The whole thing with Cake's jealousy is cute and fun instead of creepy and annoying. I think it's because everyone teases him about it and isn't taking him seriously. And he's not really taking himself seriously. In fact, I'm guessing he's not even really that jealous, he's just using it as an excuse to bring up "I'm See-iew's boyfriend! See-eiw is my boyfriend!" as often as he can. Because he's really excited about that. He's using it as a way to show Eiw and himself that their relationship has changed, that he's allowed to claim him now.
And then the sad part. It felt very real and uncomfortable and brought up all sorts of feelings about mortality and family. I thought it was well done. Honestly, I could say more but I don't really want to think about it. The scene with the two moms made me cry. Is making me cry just writing that sentence.
I loved seeing Cake caring for See-eiw so tenderly, with such an understanding of what See-eiw needed from him. The way he got the water ready as soon as Eiw's mom said she was wanted it, and then handed it to him right away, because he knew that Eiw would want to to help her himself. Cake was there for Eiw and nothing else mattered. And I was worried at first that Eiw wouldn't let him help, that he would blame himself for spending too much time with Cake and not seeing his mom get sick, but so far no. Instead he has turned to Cake as his first refuge, finding home in his arms. That was so beautiful how his mom put it, how she gave her implicit blessing.
Peak on the other hand. Peak was not selfless in his love. I'm still mad at him. Mostly I'm trying to pretend that part didn't happen, but it looks like his attempts at courting return next week. Grrr. (I do realize that Hom could appreciate his attention, could want him and consider it a welcome distraction. But I don't care; I'm still mad.)
I don't really have a prediction of how next the final episode will go. Will Cake and Eiw continue to face the world's troubles as one, or will there be bumps between them. I'm sad we only get one more hour with them, I've loved them so much. But I'm excited for their happy ending after all this heartache.

Let's talk about the last HSMTMTS episode.
I LOVED IT. It was HILARIOUS. Carlos' drama was so fun to watch !
And the end. I loved that everyone exploded. Like no more secrets, finally everyone knows everything and hopefully it can only be better.
About the Portwell/Rina drama, honestly I'm just sick of it. At least it wasn't uncomfortable like in the previous episode... Ricky crushing on Gina: not new. Gina being angry at EJ: legit. EJ who doesn't understand why she is angry: also legit.
I don't ask for the moon, just a little of 💫 COMMUNICATION 💫. It not THAT hard. Like Val, I'm on Gina's side, she has every reason to be angry at EJ, I just hope it will be resolved next week! Is he calling Gina's mom at the end of the episode?
About Jet and Maddie: YES YES YES YES. Finally we know what happens between them! And Jet's song was soooo good!! I can't wait to see Maddison coming at CSL, to see the two Maddie be happy together! Plus, it's JoJo Siwa!!
Ashlyn and Val: Wow, I didn't expected Ashlyn to react like this... She definitely feels something for her, but she won't recognize it because she loves Big Red. And honestly, I love Ashlyn and Big Red, they are the best couple of this show, no drama, just chill... I'm totally for Ashlyn to be bisexual and to crush on Val, but I don't want the best couple of the show to break up... And we don't know what Val's sexual orientation is, maybe she's just straight and that's why Maddox stop crushing on her?
I just want to talk quickly about Ricky and Gina: yes there was something, yes he feels something for her, but honestly? I feel like there was so much more potential in his scene with Jet... They could be really interesting together, and like I already said: anything other than Rina/Portwell drama is welcome... Even in his scene with EJ, the slap scene, there could have been something between them, more than just the fight for a girl... 🙄
Kourtney being judgy was very fun, Gina's catchphrase was on point, Val's psychology was impressive, Carlos as the director of this was amazing, Maddox crying was cringe AND hilarious, Jet being the bad boy was very funny, his accent made me laugh!
Carlos' list was the best thing of this episode. It was very funny when he used his marker to validate an action. And RIP Ricky, but except Gina, I think everyone knows it.
I also really liked Kourtney talking to the girls, it was very nice seeing her reassuring them!
The performances were really good, I liked Anna and Kristoff duet, just like I liked the duet between young Elsa and young Anna (+Olaf). But I really think my favorite performance of the episode is Jet's song. I love the music, the lyrics, his voice... So great! I really can't wait to see the next episode!
Oh and we finally saw the scene that was in the trailer with Ricky and Gina! People thought it would be in the dance episode, but no! And I think it's better that it was here!
To end this post let's talk about EJ: as Sven it was ridiculous. But very funny. But what about his name!! His parents really named him Elton John?! And now his dad is surprised that he doesn't want to be a business man?! With a name like this it was obvious that he would love being on stage! And the revelation about 'Rocketman', like Carlos I thought it was something more original than that!
Anyway, great episode this week, I liked it better than last week's!
