Okay, so my thoughts on RUSH!:

I asked for a meal and Måneskin delivered a BANQUET! It’s a really good album overall: the entire band was on their A game for this one!! I really like the direction they took and the recent interview with Zane Lowe where they talked about the creative process makes me love it even more!

FUCK every basic bitch hating on this album because of the leaked lyrics!!!! Songs are not poetry and the instrumentals / vocal delivery can really elevate the entire thing!!!

Vic was born to play bass, Thomas is a legend, Damiano honestly has one of my favorite voices ever and Ethan is so good I just want him to [redacted] [crash sounds] [gunshots] [dogs barking]

My two cents song by song - that no one asked for - is below the cut

- Own My Mind is already in 3 different playlists of mine. Can’t wait to hear it liveeeee 9.5/10

- Tom Morello had less than 30 seconds and delivered everything in Gossip! Thomas is honestly so fucking talented, I’m gonna cry. Lyrics slap, instruments slap, promo slaped. 9/10

- My first hot take is Timezone. I already knew I would have problems with this songs when I heard it on the tiktok promo. Weakest link the first 5 songs. Emo as fuck, sounds like something a Wrapped Tour band would play (derogatory). Gets points because I can imagine a very aggravated Sony executive listening to “I don’t give a fuck about the contracts that I signed” and I giggle. Also, I miss being a teenager 7/10

- DON’T GET ME STARTED on BLA BLA BLA. Silly as fuck but I LOVE IT. God put Vic De Angelis on this earth just so she could EAT this bass line!!!! My fave along with Own My Mind 9.8/10

- Baby Said has old Strokes vibes so it’s right up my alley. Again, not very strong lyrics but the instrumental and Damiano’s vocals 🫶 8.5/10

- Second hot take: I appreciate its political commentary but Gasoline was never my cup of tea. I’m being very generous calling it “political commentary” tho, they could’ve done better. Gets points because Damiano quoting Chaplin during Coachella and yelling “FORA BOLSONARO” on my concert live rent free in my head. Loses points for being too long 7.5/10

- Feel is a banger!!! @ Walk Like a Badass Playlist on Spotify, we have visitors. Also, again, THOMAS ♥️ 8/10

- I love ass shakers and I especially love ass shakers like Don’t Wanna Sleep. AGAIN, THOMAS AND VIC 8.5/10

- I can tell Damiano was drunk as fuck recording Kool Kids, ICONIC. Also super catchy 8.5/10

- Ballad Alert! If Not For You deserves an acoustic version and I will bug everyone until I get it. Automatic 9/10

- Testing my patience along with Timezone is Read Your Diary. It starts great but then it just becomes a Disney Channel song, babes. A good Disney Channel song, but still. Weakest link on the second part of the album. Gets points for the bass line and, again, because I miss being a teenager 7.5/10

- The first song in italian, Mark Chapman GOES. HARD. AS. FUCK. Instrumental is point, Damiano’s vocals are DELIVERING and ngl it hits different in italian. Makes it to my top 5 of the album 9/10

- I already loved La Fine before, so I still love it but it loses a little of it’s charm when put next to Mark Chapman ngl. I have no choice but to rate it 8.8/10

- The biggest Teatro D’ira vibe on the album is Il Dono Della Vita. A very cohesive and emotional song instrumentally, I can’t wait to read the translation. I hope this one makes it to the live setlist so I don’t have beat anyone on their team to a pulp. It also reminds me: I will never forgive them for not doing Ventanni in São Paulo but doing it in Argentina. That was a hate crime against brazilians and THEY KNOW IT. I digress. 9.5/10

- Mammamia on this album feels like seeing a cousin at a family gathering lmao. Still SLAPS tho 8/10

- My top song on Spotify Rewind in 2022 was Supermodel, so I really like it. HOWEVER, it feels very out of place on this album and it doesn’t go as hard now that we have better songs. You can tell this was a “commercial” song because the other ones are so much more well made (even the ones I don’t like as much). Still has a place in my heart tho 7.8/10

- I really loved The Loneliest when it came out and I still love it! But it suffers from the same curse as Supermodel: the new ballads are so much better. All I can think about now while listening is “I hope they don’t pass up If Not For You and Il Dono Della Vita on the live shows so they can play The Loneliest”. I know it’s gonna happen tho, so I resent it a little bit. 8/10

They were a brand new band, with a hot new sound, a little rockish and a little pop/dance and I had their song, Supermodel on repeat that whole trip. Rush! tier-list

I waited a week to do that, to listen more closely to each song, which are my favs and which are definitely not. So here it is :

S-tier

If Not For You My favourite song from Rush!. I'm a sucker for sad ballad, and this is one is particularly well written. Top 5 of my fav Må songs overall.

The Loneliest Kinda for the same reasons as If Not For You. Brings me to tears almost every time.

In Dono Della Vita The most 'Teatro d'Ira' song from Rush!. Reminds of La Paura Del Buio, which is top 2 of my favourite Må songs overall.

A-tier

Timezone Underated song in my opinion. Cute emo vibes at first, but still poignant lyrics. Really feels like being inside Damiano's head when they're abroad and it's sad. Sorry, I like sad. La Fine Also lots of 'Teatro d'Ira' vibes. Amazing guitar rifs and bass lines. Will be a banger on stage, like Lividi Sui Gomiti or In Nome Del Padre.

Mark Chapman I stand my ground as a lover of their italian songs. Another crazy guitar rifs, feels like Thomas keeps upgrading his game, and I love it. Another banger.

Mamma Mia Bottom A-tiers because we've known this one for a while and it feels weird to have it in the album. Still love it as much as as the first time I heard it.

B-tier

Read Your Diary This is the beginning of trouble, as I think Rush! as a lot of "pretty okey" songs. Read You Diary is still a great one, love the bass line and the energy from the chorus. Own My Mind Pretty catchy, but maybe a bit more simple than Read Your Diary. Really gets stuck in my head from time to time. A cool kick to launch the album.

Baby Said Same logic, pretty catchy, but feels like it's a bit more pop than Own My Mind. Pop songs are okey, bands need them to be on mainstream radio. Not always the vibes I'm looking for in Må, that's all.

C-tier

Supermodel Again with pop songs. Never been a huge fan of Supermodel, never will be. Still reminds me of my trip to Rome last summer, so I don't hate on it.

Gossip First hot take for Rush!, but I really am not a fan of Gossip. Despite the collaboration with Tom Morello, I think it's a not a good song, very repetitive and kinda boring. Has some real poor lyrics in my opinion.

Gasoline I think I prefer to listen to Gasoline over Gossip. Still put that one on bottom c-tier because it doesn't feel like a Må song, and most of all because I think it doesn't belong in this album. They wrote that one in support of Ukraine, and this real strong political stance feels weird next to Baby Said and Feel. Overall, I think the order of the songs in Rush! doesn't make any sense.

D-tier

Feel Some of the poorest instrumental of the album to my taste. Still, I guess it will be fun to dance to in a gig.

Don't Wanna Sleep Very conflicted on that one because I want to like it, but I don't. Too similar to many other songs of Rush!, which I think is the main problem with this album : too many songs. I could listen to Rush! with skipping Don't Wanna Sleep, and seriously don't think I'm missing anything on what they meant with this album.

E-tier

Blablabla Here we go. I hate Blablabla. I get the message, it's punk, it's supposed to sound like this. I still think it's terrible. Utterly terrible.

F-tier

Cool Kids Again, I get what they meant. But Damiano was wasted recording this and it shows. It's bad, like really bad. It doesn't even feel like the song is finished. I actually can't listen to that one to the end. Their worst song to my opinion. I'd listen everyday to Are You Ready, but not this. Pass.

TAYLOR MOMSEN On TAYLOR HAWKINS Tribute Concert: 'It Was An Absolute Honor To Be Asked To Sing At That'

THE PRETTY RECKLESS singer Taylor Momsen spoke to NME about her involvement with the tribute show for FOO FIGHTERS drummer Taylor Hawkins in California in September. At the event, Momsen fronted a band including former NIRVANA members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic and SOUNDGARDEN's Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil, playing versions of SOUNDGARDEN's "The Day I Tried To Live" and "Black Hole Sun".

"It was an absolute honor to be asked to sing at that,” said Momsen. "I loved Taylor dearly. What an incredible musician and one of the best people I've ever met in my life. It was just an extraordinarily moving night. The energy in the room was beautiful. Everyone who was there was there for the right reason; egos were checked at the door. And then, obviously, to play with some of my heroes of music was just unbelievable. I have to mention Dave and the FOOs as well; the way they went about the show was so well done and so beautiful. It was a very moving evening, very emotional. I feel like Taylor would have really loved it. Dave did a wonderful job honoring his friend."

Prior to the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert, Momsen had sung with Thayil and Cameron at a show honoring SOUNDGARDEN's Chris Cornell. Thayil and Cameron also appeared on THE PRETTY RECKLESS's latest album, "Death By Rock And Roll". More recently, Thayil guested with THE PRETTY RECKLESS on a live rendition of SOUNDGARDEN's "Loud Love".

After celebrating Hawkins's memory and music with a special six-hour gig in London on September 3, the Forum gig saw many of rock, heavy metal and pop music's biggest names unite in honor of Hawkins, who died earlier this year while on tour with the FOO FIGHTERS. Among the other musicians who appeared at the Los Angeles event were QUEEN's Brian May and Roger Taylor, MÖTLEY CRÜE's Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS' Chad Smith, Wolfgang Van Halen, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's Josh Homme, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE's Brad Wilk, RUSH's Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, BLACK SABBATH bassist Geezer Butler, METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich, former SKID ROW frontman Sebastian Bach, Miley Cyrus, Pink and Kesha.

The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts ticket and merchandise sales are benefiting charities chosen by the Hawkins family: Music Support and MusiCares.

THE PRETTY RECKLESS will release a new collection of music, "Other Worlds", on November 4 via Fearless Records. The effort sees the group delivering its first proper acoustic recordings, unexpected covers and other reimaginings.

"Death By Rock And Roll" was made available in February 2021 via Fearless Records in the U.S. and Century Media Records in the rest of the world.

Upon release, "Death By Rock And Roll" topped multiple sales charts — including Billboard's Top Albums, Rock, Hard Music, and Digital charts. The record also yielded three back-to-back No. 1 singles — "Death By Rock And Roll", "And So It Went" (featuring Tom Morello of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE) and "Only Love Can Save Me Now" (featuring Thayil and Cameron). The band has tallied seven No. 1 singles at the rock format throughout its career.

Last year, Momsen — who rose to fame portraying the character of edgy little sister Jenny Humphrey on The CW's "Gossip Girl" — described "Death By Rock And Roll" in an interview with ABC Audio as a "battle cry for life and for hope."

The song I decided to analyze is Crack Addict by nü metal band Limp Bizkit. This song was initially supposed to be released as part of their fourth studio album, Results May Vary. However, the band never officially released this song, and it was only used as the theme song for WrestleMania XIX, where they performed this song, along with Rollin’, with Korn’s guitarist, Brian “Head” Welch. At this time, the band consisted of Fred Durst on vocals, Sam Rivers on bass, DJ Lethal on the turntables and samples, John Otto on the drums, and Mike Smith of Snot, replacing Wes Borland on guitar.

Crack Addict follows an ABCABCDECF format. The song opens with an intro that highlights DJ Lethal’s sampling of Spoonie Gee’s 1979 single, Spoonin’ Rap, over Mike Smith’s open guitar chords and John Otto playing quarter notes on a closed hat with a kick and a crash every four measures, ending with a fill that consists of the kick and snare over a very brief guitar riff which leads right into the first verse. Here, we see a continuation of the drum pattern used in the A section and an expansion of Mike Smith’s intro riff with Fred Durst rapping about fighting, rioting, and bragging about how cool he is. The verse ends with a drawn-out guitar chord with a brief return to the quarter note hate, except this time they are open.

The chorus contains heavy chords, fast and impactful drums, record scratches, and Fred Durst screaming about fighting someone. After the chorus, the song returns to the A section before starting the second verse.

The second verse is very similar to the first, both in style and lyrical content. One thing that really stands out to me in this verse is the reference to the names of Limp Bizkit’s previous three albums. A return to the chorus then follows this verse.

The bridge highlights Sam Rivers’ bass playing over hip-hop-esque drums. Fred’s vocals switch from rapping and screaming to traditional singing. The pre-chorus continues the instrumental of the bridge but then switches to a heavier sound, similar to the chorus. During this section, Fred gives context to why the song is titled “Crack Addict” because he is “addicted to crackin’ skulls when punks start static.” The song then returns to the chorus and ends with a brief outro that is filled with rest notes on every other beat.

The only gripe I have with this song, and Limp Bizkit during this time, is that it lost its original feel. With the departure of Wes Borland came a departure of a key part of their signature sound. Wes added a unique take on guitar riffs that could only be equaled by someone like Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine. While Mike Smith does an amazing job at keeping the energy that characterized nü metal, it just doesn’t feel like the iconic Limp Bizkit that dominated the late 90s and early 2000s with Three Dollar Bill, Y’all, Significant Other, and Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.

Overall, Crack Addict is a fantastic record that encapsulates the spirit of nü metal but doesn’t feel like it was made by the “nü metal giant” that is Limp Bizkit.

Öt év után tér vissza az EXIT-re egy háromórás szettel az mts Dance Arénába. Jövőre, a fesztivál első napján ez az élő legenda ismét színpadra lép a "legrobbanékonyabb közönség" előtt, ahogyan már számos interjúban hivatkozott az EXITre. Közkívánatra Bonobo, a különböző zenei stílusok keverésének mestere, a világ legnagyobb fesztiváljainak headlinere most először lép fel Szerbiában. Öt Grammy-jelöléssel büszkélkedhet, amelyből kettőt csak idén kapott, 2017-es Migration turnéja során kétmillió ember előtt lépett fel, míg névadó LP-je a Billboard legjobb dancealbumok listájának élén végzett. A legnagyobb dance-slágerekért Willy William, Ian Asher és Steve Angello felel, a regionális szenzáció, Joker Out pedig tovább fokozza az izgalmakat. Az EXIT több műfajú kereszteződésében, az ikonikus Visa Fusion Stage-en a Villagers of Ioannina City görög rockzenekar és a Lakeside X cseh szinti-pop együttes lép fel. A súlyosabb hangzás hagyományosan az Explosive Stage-nek van fenntartva, amelynek eddig a svájci thrash metal együttes Coroner és a kizárólag nőkből álló Nemesis death metal csapat lesz a főszereplője. Az EXIT Fesztivál következő kiadása, amely az EXIT Starseeds tematika alatt fut és mottója, hogy: "Ébresszük fel együtt a szuperképességeinket!" - 2024. július 10. és 14. között várja majd a fesztiválozókat az egyik legkülönlegesebb fesztiválhelyszínen, a Péterváradi erődben.
