Ich hatte diese smut Szene im Kopf, is mir wochenlang im Kopf rumgegeistert. Irgendwann hab ich mich hingesetzt und zu schreiben begonnen. Aber der Beginn, das Setting und die Vorgeschichte haben so lang gebraucht, jetzt bin ich bei der eigentlichen Szene angekommen und hab keine Puste mehr 😕 die letzte geschriebene Zeile ist literally "auf die Knie!".

Was also nun? Einfach mal so posten und hoffen, dass ich irgendwann noch Energie für den Rest finde? Einfach sein lassen? oder gibt's gute Tipps zum Wiederfinden von Motivation? Was meint ihr?

Danke erst einmal für dein Vertrauen, uns das zu erzählen. Schreiben kann eine ziemlich persönliche und emotionale Sache sein, besonders dann, wenn es mal nicht so vorangeht, wie man sich das vorgestellt hat.

Ich glaube, ich kann dir guten Gewissens versichern, dass du damit nicht alleine bist. Jedem von uns ist das wahrscheinlich schon mal passiert (klicke hier, um ein Meme zu sehen). Und wahrscheinlich hat jede Person eine etwas andere Art und Weise, damit umzugehen. Das kann auch von Geschichte zu Geschichte anders sein. Deswegen hier meine Top Tips zum Wiederfinden der Motivation:

Zum Anfang zurückkehren Weißt du noch, was dich ursprünglich zu dieser Geschichte inspiriert hat? Was es als erstes geschafft hat, dich zu motivieren? Hast du vielleicht etwas gelesen, das dir die zündende Idee gegeben hat, oder hast du einen Film gesehen? Kehre dahin zurück und versuche, dich an das Gefühl zu erinnern; an den Moment der ersten Inspiration. Und wenn das Gefühl zurückkommt, nimm es und lauf davon nutze es zum Schreiben.

Den Nachtisch zuerst Wenn mir die Idee zu einer Geschichte kommt, dann meistens in Form von kleinen Snippets, kurzen Sätzen, einzelnen Augenblicken. In der Regel versuche ich, diese Augenblicke erst dann auszuschreiben, wenn es sich in den Rahmen der Geschichte fügt. Aber wenn man gerade nicht weiterkommt, kann es hilfreich sein, genau diese kurzen Snippets aufzuschreiben. Oder einfach den Teil der Geschichte, auf den man sich am meisten freut, ohne sich Gedanken um die Chronologie zu machen. Mittendrin einsteigen, meinetwegen sogar mitten im Satz! Schreib das Beste zuerst, nimm dir den Nachtisch. Der Hauptgang folgt vielleicht von ganz allein.

Neues entdecken Du hast es versucht, aber irgendwie ist dir das Gefühl für die Geschichte abhanden gekommen? Nichts von dem, was du dir vorher schon überlegt hast, kann dich motivieren? Dann suche woanders nach Inspiration. Vielleicht hilft es dir schon, eine Tatort-Folge zu rewatchen. Oder eine andere Fanfiction zu lesen. Vielleicht gibt es aber auch Musik, die dich inspirieren kann, oder ein Gedicht oder ein Fanvideo oder ein Tumblr-Post oder, oder, oder ... Du könntest zum Beispiel nach Playlists suchen, die deine Vorstellung von der Stimmung in der Geschichte einfangen, oder ein Pinterest-Moodboard erstellen. Das habe ich zum Beispiel auch gemacht, um mich bei einer meiner Geschichten selbst zu motivieren (klicke hier, um ein Pinterestboard zu sehen). Alles kann Inspiration sein!

Kopfsprung und rein Manchmal macht man sich zu viele Gedanken und steht sich damit selbst im Weg. Manchmal ist es am besten, einfach nur drauflos zu schreiben. Ich weiß, ich weiß – das ist immer der Tipp, den man nicht hören möchte. Und natürlich klappt das auch nicht immer. Aber es klappt häufiger als man denkt. Einfach mal alles aufschreiben, was einem in den Kopf kommt, ohne auf die Form zu achten, ohne sich selbst zu zensieren. Mir geht es so, dass ich hinterher oft selbst erstaunt bin, was dabei alles zustande gekommen ist.

Change is a good thing Verändere etwas. Irgendetwas. Das kann innerhalb der Geschichte sein, es kann aber genauso gut der Ort sein, an dem du schreibst, oder das Medium. Probier das Bett, das Sofa, den Boden zum Schreiben aus. Probiere es mit der Hand. Oder am Handy. Ändere etwas an der Szene, an der du schreibst. Zum Beispiel das Wetter oder die Uhrzeit oder den Ort, an dem die Szene spielt. Das klingt simpel, kann aber Wunder bewirken. Vorausgesetzt natürlich, es handelt sich um Sachen, die noch verändert werden können.

Prompts Es gibt viele Seiten und Posts, in denen Writing Prompts bereitgestellt werden, manche speziell für NSFW-Werke. Klar, manchmal soll so ein Prompt eine ganze Geschichte inspirieren, aber es gibt auch Prompts, die zum Beispiel aus wörtlicher Rede bestehen und gut in der Mitte einer Geschichte eingebaut werden können. Vielleicht nimmt sie dann noch mal eine ganz andere Wendung als erwartet ...

Talk dirty to me Je nach Stimmung kann es hilfreich sein, sich mit anderen Leuten über die Geschichte auszutauschen. Durch das Zusammenfassen der Handlung gewinnt man selbst einen Überblick darüber. Man kann seine Gedanken besser sortieren und mögliche Ideen durchspielen, ohne sich auf eine festlegen zu müssen. Vorschläge, die das Gegenüber eventuell macht, können einerseits neue Möglichkeiten eröffnen, andererseits aber auch den Blick für das schärfen, was man eigentlich will. Außerdem bekommt man direkt Feedback, was sehr gut für die eigene Motivation sein kann. Zum Glück gibt es hier im Fandom viele Leute, die sich gerne neue Ideen anhören!

Raus damit Was, wenn man nicht mit einzelnen Leuten darüber sprechen möchte, aber trotzdem Feedback haben will? Ich habe auch schon gehört, dass es für viele Leute motivierend sein soll, ihre Werke als WIP (Work in Progress) zu posten. Das ist definitiv auch eine Überlegung wert! Nicht nur, dass man wahrscheinlich schneller positive Bestärkung erhält – die anderen im Fandom können auch schneller in den Genuss kommen, die Geschichte zu lesen. Egal, ob sie schon ganz fertig ist oder nicht. Manchmal macht ja gerade das Lust auf mehr!

Abstand zum Text Aber wenn das alles nichts hilft und man sich auch noch nicht bereit fühlt, die Geschichte als WIP zu posten – und beides kann vorkommen und beides ist okay –, dann ist es manchmal am besten, einfach ein bisschen Abstand zum Text zu gewinnen. Ihn liegenzulassen. Für ein paar Stunden, ein paar Tage, vielleicht ein paar Wochen. Ich habe eine meiner Geschichten sogar erst nach fünf Jahren fertig geschrieben, auch das ist möglich. Manchmal tut es einfach gut, sich selbst nicht unter Druck zu setzen und abzuwarten. Ich muss da immer an ein Zitat aus Kiki's Delivery Service denken:

“Stop trying. Take long walks. Look at scenery. Doze off at noon. Don't even think about flying. And then, pretty soon, you'll be flying again.”

Und mit diesen Worten möchte ich diesen Post abschließen. Ich hoffe, ich konnte dir ein bisschen weiterhelfen. :)

Bestimmt gibt es hier viele Leute, die noch mehr gute Tipps auf Lager haben. Gerne immer her damit! Es schadet nie, sich über verschiedene Techniken des Schreibens auszutauschen, finde ich.

Step 1. Observe the situation. Look at the opposition with a question of benefit:how can I twist these words in my favour?

Step 2. Structure a counter attack. This must include both a subject of annoyance(preferably something you are obsessed with), and a redirection of motive.

Step 3. Best case scenario, you can share your own link in retaliation. In other words, uno reverse the opposition.

Sorry about the short hiatus.

We are now starting to improve from being sick with COVID enough that I have been learning some Java. I have been programming with Python for 10+ years now and I feel it's time to branch out and have chosen Java as my first SERIOUS programming language outside of Python. I have programmed in Go, some Dart, Ruby, JavaScript and several other languages but never really felt like they were something I could dedicate myself to learning like I have with Python. However, I have discovered a love for Java as the Java language is rich and also object-oriented more in the way that Python is (that's how I feel). I realize the syntax is a lot different, and I have had some learning barriers because of the complexity of the language, but overall I am feeling confident I have what it takes to become a great Java developer too.

My top tips for learning a new language for people coming from a language like Python are: Take notes: Notes are incredibly helpful when trying to figure out what you need for certain situations. I recently had some issues with the scanner object (taking input for Java) in which I had to look up what I needed from my notes. I now have built half of my first Java program!

Practice, practice, practice: Even if you understand a concept, if you are like me, you need to repeat it several times to cement it in your brain and be able to remember it the next day. There are many places to practice what you've learned but jumping into projects on Youtube, doing coding challenges, or trying to build your own solution to whatever you want to using documentation will help you a lot!

Join a subreddit or at least engage in a community: The most helpful thing outside of the other tips that I do when learning or practicing any language is to join a subreddit and search for programming buddies or people to make friends with who have similar interests. It's fun to code with other people and gives you experience working on a team as you would at a job! /ProgrammingBuddies subreddit is excellent for this!
