Referring to the Ask Game here! 11. Bad or petty habits

I feel like this one is a bit boring but I'll try. He has a bad habit of underestimating Alice. Wherever they are he is calculating their proxemics to each other, how close others are to Alice and the best position he can be in to protect her should harm come her way. His thoughts are consumed with her safety - to the point it can be detrimental to their relationship or his own welfare, not that he cares *ahem Eclipse battle*. She reminds him all the time that she can protect herself, he taught her how to fight and she can best him when training. She learned from the best. Also, not everything is a danger. I imagine they get into small disagreements about this over the years, he is an "overprotective fool". She doesn't need saving all the time. As much as it annoys her though, part of her does find it endearing.

13. What gets them flustered.

SFW edition: Being proved wrong time and time again with his theories about vampirism, particularly newborn vampires (newborn Bella). Also realising the number of vampires who are allies of The Cullens, who all managed to co-exist amicably over the weeks they spent in Forks. As much as Jasper's views have progressed in his time away from newborn armies, he still gets flustered when it is so clearly obvious and in his face that he was wrong all these years. NSFW edition:

When Alice manages to surprise him by hugging him from behind. Especially when he's sitting down, and she wraps her arms and hands over his chest, kissing and paying close attention to his neck. He was taught to never leave his back exposed when a new vampire and throughout his time with Maria. The only person who can and will sneak up on him from behind is Alice, and he welcomes it for reasons that I'm sure don't need explaining...

Could you do head canons for how the Irish Coven reacted to initially hearing about Renesme because we see them showing up in Forks, but what was that initial conversation like?

•How did the Cullens convince Everyone to Come?•

I would like to say that while we see Carlisle and Esme basically plead with Amun to come I think he was the only who needed convincing. Even then, I think they asked them to at least visit as a favor.

Everyone else had a similar conversation to what Rosalie and Emmett asked if Garett. Carlisle needs a favor and would like you to come to his house. While the Irish coven was probably one of the few that got a letter or phone call, they like everyone else were just asked to come to Forks as a favor to Carlisle. They all probably freaked out, which I mean is reasonable. And Maggie probably had a moment where she wondered if her adopted parents would try and have a kid of their own (they wouldn’t) but I really don’t see much difference to what we saw in the movies. Canonically they all were shocked to learn about Renesme, so there’s not much headcanons about it. They were just not told. Which honestly, it’s so shady of Carlisle and the Cullens in general. Because while everyone says Reptar has the opposite of her dads gift, she has more of Renee’s gift.

Before anyone asks she does have a gift, or would if she was a vampire. Edward even says so in Midnight Sun. Her thoughts are loud and people flock to help her. Recession convinces everyone that she touches to help her. And I think the vampires that don’t touch her are aware of this lowkey. I also think Edward knows this and that’s why he’s adamant on everyone meeting her and asking them to let her show them. When really, it shouldn’t be necessary. Aro can hear her slower heart once she approaches, her touch is completely unnecessary. Would the Cullens do the same for their friends if they were asked to be witnesses? Besides Carlisle I doubt they would.

Carlisle never actually left the Volturi he's just part of a very Very long con by Aro to see who would possibly have motive/means to rebel against the Volturi...under the leadership of a benign "pacifist" who will never actually allow them to fight, therefore making sure Aro can eliminate them separately later, once he knows who they are

If it weren't for Eddy Boi being a mind reader, I'd soooo be on board for this. I read a fic a while back where Alice was an undercover Volturi member and it was delicious to read.

What impact do you think the various events of the saga had on Rosalie and Emmett?

Thanks for the ask! So, I think obviously there is tension when Rosalie doesn’t want Bella to become a vampire and Emmett does. I think it must be difficult for Emmett because he understands Rosalie’s POV but he also wants Edward to be happy. I think the New Moon phone call was a big issue for Rosalie and Emmett. I imagine that they had words about that when Alice, Edward and Bella returned from Volterra safe. I don’t think Emmett would have been too happy with Rosalie’s decision to phone Edward..Rosalie and Emmett go away in New Moon (this may just be my HC) If this is is true, I can’t imagine it was an easy decision and that their relationship was 100% normal and happy during this time.

Then there’s the events of BD. Yes, Rosalie is over the moon that she has a wee niece to look after/nurture but I think that longing of wanting her own child and envy that she has for Bella will eventually show up again. Bella has it so easy and has basically been handed everything on a silver plate. That’s got to hurt Rosalie. I think it also hurts Emmett. He knows how badly Rosalie would give anything to have a child and it’s the one thing he can’t give to her. It must sting knowing Edward and Bella didn’t even want children and they have a child. I think Rosalie longs for a child even more after BD (I’m a sucker for angst) and after Renesmee grows up (although I’m sure SM intends Renesmee and Jacob to have children 🙄 that Rosalie can live through).

Now this post may sound like I hate Rosalie but I actually love her character arc. I think she’s a very interesting character and there’s so many layers to her. I love that she has Emmett and that they have such an active healthy physical relationship after everything she’s been through. I think Emmett is good for Rosalie and exactly what she needs.
