Marvel Comics Announces New Giant-Sized Issues to Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Giant-Sized Issues
In the 1970s Marvel Comics released Giant-Size issues, and now, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Giant-Size editions, Marvel is releasing more Giant-Size one-shots. 2024's Giant-Size one-shots will also include backup reprints of key stories from Marvel's past. Additionally, Marvel Comics is reprinting Giant-Size Super Stars.
Giant-Size Super-Stars #1, the first Giant-Size title ever, is getting a special facsimile edition. Gerry Conway and Rich Buckler's 1974 story featured The Thing and the Hulk's rivalry. "Like all the best bouts, this one takes place in the ring at Madison Square Garden—with the Fantastic Four watching on! In the green corner, it’s Bruce Banner’s incredible alter ego! In the orange corner, it’s bashful Benjamin J. Grimm! But there’s a twist to this fight that you won’t believe—and the formidable warrior Thundra is on hand to tag in! Will it be Clobberin’ Time for the Hulk? Or will the ever-lovin’ Thing get smashed?" (Marvel Comics)
Giant-Size Super-Stars #1 Facsimile Edition, featuring a cover by Rich Buckler, goes on sale on December 27, 2023.
The Giant-Size celebration kicks off with Giant-Size Spider-Man from writer Cody Ziglar and artist Iban Coello in which "Dylan Brock has a bone…or a brain…to pick with Miles Morales." (Marvel Comics) The edition will reprint Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli's Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man #22, which featured the conclusion of Miles Morales' first battle with Ultimate Venom.
Giant-Size Spider-Man #1, featuring a cover by Bryan Hitch, goes on sale on January 10, 2024.

On this day, the anniversary of Miles Morales’ first appearance, we should remember his beginnings, his original Ultimate comics that introduced this courageous little boy who overcame his fear of what being Spider-Man would mean for his future
Who proved himself ten times over to those who thought he didn’t belong
Who made the choice to throw himself to a world he knew killed good people like him every day
Who faced the horrors
Who learned the hard way that no matter how much he doesn’t understand it, there will always be people who’ll do anything for all the power and none of the responsibility
Who deep down only wanted the best for people
Who hit his breaking point and came back stronger than ever

Miles 🩷
Anyways it’s really cool that marvel had a character who was suddenly introduced into a new timeline where they didnt previously exist and has to deal with the ramifications of that alongside the loss of their previous mentor figure and friends.
And its really on brand that they barely explored any of that with miles and made up a new white boy with some extra fanfiction style sad ritz to have that storyline instead 🤡
