Honestly, Danny doesn't know how he gets into these situations. It's probably the fault of a deity or an Ancient or someone. It's most definitely Clockwork's fault.
Going on that mission with Constantine sounded like a good idea at the time, and Raven was going to be there! She's the best impulse control on the team. He realizes he should've clarified why Raven was going with them. Evidently, it was not to help or be impulse control for the Ghost King and the Alcoholic Soul Whore. (Don't tell Constantine that's his nickname) Raven was going along because she had business at Titan Tower. It should've been obvious, but Danny is not the most observant.
Either way, he was wrong. He thought going on this mission with John - there was a demon running around an apartment building and people were, apparently, quite upset about that - would deter the Justice League from hounding him like roaches. He was right about that, but also very wrong because the proteges took the opportunity to sniff him out like the bloodhounds they are. Unsurprisingly, Red Robin was at the head of the charge.
Raven, the traitor, sat back and laughed at him. She wasn't laughing, but it was obvious that she found his misery amusing.
Anyway, this lead to a citywide hunt for Danny. Anytime he spotted even a hint of any of the Titans chasing him, he was gone. He couldn't stray too far from Constantine, though, and Beast Boy had a nose like a damn elephant.
The chase lasted a solid three hours before he had to let them catch him, if only so that he could tell them to leave him alone because he's there on official JLD business. Not like that would actually work, but he had hope. Unfortunately, he forgot that Red Robin is Bat Trained.
Danny took a second for himself before the Titans caught up with him. Was this really better than Deadman harassing him about his first time in Gotham? No, it wasn't. It wasn't any worse, either, and he didn't know how to feel about that.
"Are you finally done running?" Red Robin asked, landing in a crouch in front of him.
Danny folded his legs to sit criss-cross in the air as the rest of the kids that had been chasing him joined RR. "You make it sound like I'm a criminal."
"You ran like one," Beast Boy pointed out. Fair, but rude. "And, dude, I don't know if you know this, but you smell horrible."
Danny placed a hand on his chest with a dramatic gasp. "How dare you! I took a shower just last week!"
Raven was now unamused.
Superboy gagged a bit. "He's right," A small shudder. "I couldn't smell it before, but I can now that you're so close to me."
He sighed with equal dramatics as his gasp. "I guess I can never get rid of the smell, even after all this time."
Wonder Girl tilted her head to the side slightly. "Oh? And what smell would that be?"
"The smell of death," John Constantine, ever a man of impeccable timing, turned onto the side street to join them. He largely ignored the kids in favor of the ghost child who isn't actually a child but no one listens to him when he explains that so he's probably going to stop trying. "It lingers. C'mon, kid, we've got a demon to exorcise."
Danny huffed like a petulant child, "Still not a kid!"
Constantine continued walking away. "Still don't care."

I’m absolutely OBSESSED with the concept of “Glamrock DJ Music Man”.
Not only can he give like, the BEST hugs ever, and kids likely wouldn’t be as scared of him, and he can DRAW, But there’s also so many ways that DJ being this shape would drastically change the flow of my AU!
If DJ looked like this? He would no longer be confined to the Arcade. He would have the freedom to roam where ever he wants to like the others do. So when DA starts acting weird and eventually disappears? Instead of just sitting there and hoping for the best.. DJ would just straight up leave the Arcade and go check on him. In which Sunny would be able to explain what was going on in the safety of the Daycare.
DJ would have access to so much more information as well! When Freddy and the gang started acting weird and disappeared, DJ would be able to actually go and talk to them. In which he would find out that something is wrong with all of them. DJ being unable to leave the Arcade has greatly limited everyone’s flow of information, considering the “bug” didn’t effect DJ the same way it did the others.. He could have witnessed everyone's slow decline into malfunction with clear eyes. And probably could have stopped it. He could have even told Freddy and the others about their weird behavior once they were fixed. But alas, in cannon he just simply cant leave the Arcade. And thus couldn’t help any of his friends in their time of need.🥺

Crossposting here my thread about how Ben Fox of Shepherd treated me over my "incredibly weird" "non-standard" name. All emails are included in the above thread. Shepherd often cold-contacts authors, so I'm putting this out there in the hopes of it reaching trans indie authors before they're forced to go in blind to working with a site that prominently features queer book lists while direspecting authors behind the scenes.

Long, harrowing sigh. Honestly this might have been the most unsatisfactory way they could've handled this whole deal for me. It was nice to finally see Kanaya flip out (I've been cheering for this forever, this much was cathartic), but something about the framing of Rose and Jade's motives just really ticked all the wrong boxes for me. Especially the way they seem to entirely upturn Rose's characterization. This cold, calculated depiction of her is very... Strange. Especially considering her extremely well-documented track record of impulsive, emotionally-driven decisions. It's weird to see her discarding any attempt at making amends with Kanaya in favor of being like, "I have seen the future, I know that you will forgive me, therefore I don't need to worry about any of this." Rose definitely has a penchant for fucking things up via immense hubris, but that never came with a total disregard for consequences. "A lot can change in 20 years" but we don't SEE that change in Rose. It feels lazy, and honestly more like whoever was writing her simply doesn't have an actual grasp on her character.
All of Rose's talk about inevitability was. Very strange for her too. I guess if I want to be generous I'll probably assume that they're trying to have Candy Rose mirror Meat Rose in being a character "puppeted" around by the narrative (cue Dirk and Rose "free will" conversation), but I don't really think that takes away from Rose's disconnect being very out of left field.
Although also in this same vein, the way Rose talks about her powers brings me back to this line (page):
So I guess at this point the most satisfying thing we can expect to see happen here is having Rose's ideas about inevitability promptly overwritten when Kanaya doesn't forgive her (or otherwise fulfilled in such a way that's ironically very unfortunate for Rose).
I'll save dissections of Jade's characterization for people who have a more thorough understanding of Jade than I do. I do think that her going, "You don't understand, Kanaya! Sure I fucked your wife, but sometimes people BOTHER ME with their PROBLEMS" was comedically eye roll worthy. I don't get the impression that either Rose or Jade are meant to be particularly sympathetic here, and I don't want them to be, but I do think that the way they went about making these two unlikeable is very forced and barely a passing attempt at being actually true to their characters.
Full marks for this panel though. The symbolism here of Kanaya painting over Rose's color (literally "removing her from her lips") is very good.

Love (cannot emphasis how much sarcasm there is in that word) that an official Canadian government response to high cellphone rates is to switch carriers.
Switch it to what? We basically have three companies since one was allowed to eat the forth (with the government saying it wasn't anti-competition and the company eating the other pinky promising they wouldn't jack rates up). Even the smaller companies have to rent infrastructure from the Big Three so there's only so much they can do if that rent costs an arm and a leg.
And that's not touching on how many "small companies" are actually just subsidiaries of the Big Three. You may save $5 but you're still with Telus/Rogers/Bell.
Or that the actual small companies tend to have shit coverage because they don't have the infrastructure available to them and are prevented from getting it. Or their traffic is throttled in favour of the Big Three's customers. Or both.
Or that they're extremely regional thus aren't an option for a huge chunk of Canada's population.
We have no true options and the government has shown time and again that they're fine with monopolies, in multiple industries, and don't care when said monopolies jack up prices to make shareholders and the c-suite more money at the expense of everyone else. At most there will be a verbal slap on the wrist and a giftcard for $25 that people have to register for, for a decade and a half of price gouging.
It's not talked a whole lot about outside the country from what I've seen and heard but Canada is a country of monopolies. A handful of companies own nearly everything, every province has a family or two that owns a hell of a lot (Nova Scotia is basically owned by one family at this point), and our government ignores it. Even the branch that is supposed to be against monopolies is fine with mergers and takeovers in most cases.
Because, you know, the company said it totally wouldn't use consumers' lack of options to increase prices.
