“so,” dustin says around a mouthful of french toast that has him spewing crumbs everywhere, “can i ask about…y’know…you becoming…you?”
“yeah, sure. ask away. we didn’t do secrets before this,” evie freezes briefly as she grabs a napkin to give him. her face cringes slightly. “sorry about that, by the way.”
dustin flaps the napkin to wave her worry off. “dude, you could literally get killed if you tell the wrong person.”
“way to remind us,” robin rolls her eyes over her coffee mug.
“anyways!” evie cuts in with a clap of her hands. “your questions?”
“oh! right. i wrote them down,” dustin says and pulls out his phone to open his notes.
“he wrote them down,” robin repeats sarcastically under her breath, earning a snort from evie and a glare from dustin that has her raising her hands in surrender.
dustin takes a sip of his orange juice and clears his throat. “okay. did you know before you left hawkins? how did you figure it out?”
“yeah, i knew before i left. i think right around when the whole…vecna thing happened was when i really understood what was up,” evie nods thoughtfully, “like, i always felt…different? or just lost, i guess. and then with starting to find words to put to my feelings, like transgender and dysphoria, it started to feel like maybe i wasn’t so weird. robin and i went shopping and tried on like skirts and stuff and that was wild. and then i started thinking about all the girls i had dated and what that meant, and honestly, i think i wanted to be them rather than be with them.”
“so if you didn’t want to be with them, are you gay? or…i guess straight? like you like dudes?” dustin asks, his brows drawn as he listens.
“y’know, i haven’t really thought too much about it but…yeah,” she shrugs. “i guess i’d say i’m straight since i like men.”
“cool,” he nods with a smile. “damn, so even as a girl, you and robin still won’t date.”
“oh dude, i was struggling helping her out with everything after her boob job. i swear, i was no better than a man,” robin says across the table.
“she wore an ace bandage as a blind fold,” evie laughs, tossing her head back. dustin giggles as he watches robin pick up the newspaper to smack evie with, her cheeks bright red.
“is it only robin and now me who knows?” he continues along with his questioning.
“you two and my dad’s secretary since he didn’t feel like answering the phone. she congratulated me, by the way,” evie smirks at the end. just picturing her dad’s face if he were to hear the news. the rage, the steam coming from his ears. screams that could be heard blocks away as he throws another lamp. and his loyal secretary of 8 years has already congratulated his daughter and told her how happy she is for her. robin high fives her every time she gets to mention it.
“damn! i cant imagine how much that took for you to cal him. nice work,” dustin smiles proudly. “would you ever want to tell more people from hawkins?”
she’s silent for a minute. it’s something she didn’t think she’d ever consider doing. and yet, she can’t outright say no.
“i think so. someday. i hope.”
“i could…ease them into the idea so it’s less of a shock? just like…gauge where everyone’s head is at in regards to transgender individuals, give you two updates, see where to go from there?” dustin suggests with a shrug. robin’s brows raise under bangs. now that’s an idea she hasn’t had yet.
“that sounds…good,” evie nods confidently after a second, a new smile blooming on her face. robin cheers from her seat and throws her arms in the air. “just be subtle! don’t walk in all ‘hey guys, how do you feel about hypermasculine jocks from small towns turning into women who wanna be barbie?’.”
“oh no, you stole my plan word for word,” dustin rolls his eyes. “no shit i’ll be subtle. it’s a shame a side effect of estrogen isn’t intelligence.”
“don’t forget i’m hosting you,” evie warns with a pointed finger.
“yes, mom,” he sighs heavily, “okay, you can stop me if this is too far. you said you got your boobs done, did you get…like…the surgery? like the surgery?”
“not too far, honestly. yeah, i got it about…a year ago, actually! ahh happy birthday to me!” evie claps excitedly.
“does it work?”
“DUSTIN!”
~
“i just don’t get why he hasn’t said anything. he said he would update us what she’s like, i mean c’mon, he’s the first one invited over! the first one allowed over! he promised to text when he got there, what if something happened? did everyone die? him and robin are silent! nobody answers their texts!”
“eddie! will you please just stop? dustin is fine and i am sure he isn’t wooing your fairy princess, love of your life, big stupid crush, ms evangeline,” gareth groans. he’s laying upside down on the couch in his and eddie’s apartment, curls dangling to the ground. it’s been forever of listening to eddie gush about robin’s roommate and now it’s just even worse with dustin staying with them. the least eddie could do is stop pacing in front of him, he’s making him motion sick watching his legs go back and forth.
finally, eddie flips down next to him with a heavy sigh. he takes a long swig of his beer, effectively draining half of it down his throat, before just staring at the ceiling.
“i’m sorry, i’m sorry. you’re right. everything’s fine. plus, it’d be pretty fucked of him to go flirt with her when i called dibs.”
“you can’t dibs a woman-“
“yeah, yeah, shut up.” eddie lightly kicks at gareth’s shoulder. he sighs again, his finger fiddling with the wrapper on his beer bottle. “…do you think he’s mentioned me?”
“that’s it, i need a knife.”

Caine x Jessica Rabbit Reader
Tumblr media
The game was finally getting an update, you know for the adult audience, that will fly right over kids' heads. There was a whole new room and it was built just for you, (y/n) Rabbit.
"Everyone, I have brought you all here for the new update, and instead of an adventure, we will watch a show. Apparently, the star of the show is called (y/n) Rabbit!" Caine announced excitedly, this caught Jax's attention.
"Wait rabbit!?" Jax looked up.
"Oh god, we don't need another one!" Zooble scowled at Jax.
He scowled back at them about to make a snide comment about them until Caine started talking again.
"Ha! Yeah you might know her," Caine laughed as they all walked in. It looked pretty nice but it was kinda empty there were a few npcs scattered about. They all sat at three tables near each other, and the show started. The more the show went on with different people on stage the more it went on the more npcs pilled in, a lot of them were getting really excited, and some waiter npcs put drinks on the tables, they inspected it and it was alcohol, Caine sniffed it, this certainly wasn't family-friendly. Suddenly the lights dimmed and lots of people started clapping and ran to the bottom of the stage, the group looked around confused. Caine hollered waiter,
"What's up with everybody!?" he asked the wooden doll.
"(y/n) Rabbit is performing tonight," they answered and walked off.
"Everyone here's got a thing for rabbits then ay?" Caine said, the six turned to Jax, and he looked a bit uncomfortable. But then the music started and they all looked to the stage.
"You had plenty money, 1922~" a leg stuck out the curtain. You stepped out. Many of the npcs started whistling and cheering.
"You let other women, make a fool of you~" You sang as you turned in your sparkly dress.
Gangle was unphased with tears in their eyes, Zooble's eyelids lifted, Ragatha started blushing so did Jax, Pomni wasn't even paying attention, Kinger's pupils dilated, and Caines eyeballs bulged.
"Why don't you do right~" you walked over the wall.
You leaned against it and slid seductively down.
"Like some other men do~" you sang, Caine's jaw lowered. You walked over to an npc that was leaning towards your legs,
"Get out of here~" you kick them away.
This finally catching the attention of Pomni and she was shocked at what she saw.
"Get me some money too~" Caine's bottom jaw dropped on the table. You started to walk down the path of the stage.
"If you had prepared twenty years ago~" npcs gathering around your feet.
"You wouldn't be wanderin' now from door to door~"
One npc got close and you put your hand on his face and pushed him down,
"Why don't you do right~" You walked in the seven's direction.
"Like some other men do~" you sang as you stepped on the table with Kinger, gangle and Zooble. Caine reattached his jaw.
You put your hand out for Kinger to take, and he did, helped you down.
You went behind him, reached for his head, bent down and pinched his cheeks.
"Get out of here~" you got a handkerchief from nowhere and shined his head with it and dropped it, and he caught it.
"Get me some money too~" you then proceeded to walk up to Caine,
You were much bigger than he was and he was very small compared to you so it was a funny sight when you sat on his lap.
"Get out of here~"
Caine was suddenly very nervous and the six watched in amusement.
You put your hand under his jacket touching his shoulder, and grabbed his top hat. Leaned in like you were gonna kiss him and he leaned in too.
"Get me some money too~" you shoved his hat into his face/teeth. He scrambled to put his hat back on, and you got off him and went around behind him stroking his shoulder and getting on the table.
"Why don't ya do right~" you stretched your leg up posing, got up again, turning and leaning on the table towards Caine.
"Like some other men~..." You grabbed his bow tie and pulled him up off the chair. Your lips really close to his face. Caine started to sweat, you could hear npcs ohing in the background and then one going so far as groaning.
"Doooooooooooooo~" You let go of his bow tie, he forgot he wasn't floating and crashed back onto the chair. You walked back on stage and the curtains went back down covering you up. All the npcs stood up cheering, roaring, screaming, whistling. The seven sat there in silence, well, except Kinger, he was clapping with the npcs.

𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐄𝐘𝐄.
priest!suguru geto x fem!reader. a part of JUDAS, a kinktober drabble series.
tw: talks on religion, smoking :: edit: UPDATED
wc: 2k :: masterlist :: previous part
Tumblr media
Sunday went as smoothly as he’d mull over in his head. The sermon was made to be a continuation of the previous one: where to find strength through God in the path of life’s obstacles. With Suguru moving voice and emphasis, the communion consumed and praised Him to be.
Wednesday rolled around, and it was a night of Bible study but more importantly, the potluck everyone was waiting for. Mrs. Kaskai and a few other church women set the picnic tables outside in the courtyard, her husband getting the lights to work around wooding postings. Mr. Weren brought propane for the grill, excited to be cooking ribs he had marinating in the church’s kitchen for a week now. With the Father’s help, they worked together as one to make it all happen for their community.
Suguru clicks a spoon to his glass to gather everyone’s attention. It was once simple click and heads turned without a second wasted. Children were hushed to soft murmurs and babbles, and all eyes were on him. Like they always were. And as always, he presented himself with a smile.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that the food we have here today isn’t like any other. Practically have a few five start chefs among us.” The crowd laughs heartily.
“The effort is seen and worth appreciating, especially with the succession of the bake sale!” Claps and cheers could be heard all around, including the father’s. They simmer down for him to continue. “It’s worth the celebration, so here we are, to bless and be blessed. Let us bow our heads.”
Small groups crowed around the food tables to get their pieces. As Suguru gives a nod of gratitude for Mr. Everest putting some on his place, he glances down to the array of foods. Each with their own signed cards of what was made and by who. His eyes glance over the varied names. His steps slow as they narrow in concentration, wanting to be sure he was seeing things correctly. A dark chocolate cake sat in front of him, with your name signed at the bottom. Did you come through here already? How come he didn’t see you?
He glances around, searching for your face in the crowd. When he came up empty-handed, the priest moves to allow the line to flow again.
The night went on as lively as ever, talking with each smiling patron after the next. He’d smile back, laugh with their jokes, but feel as though he was much farther from everyone than he really was. His words were half-hearted at best. Every now and then his glance takes him outward, looking to his surroundings. After the third or maybe fourth glance around, he eyes figure sitting on top of the hood of a car. A figure he’d recognize from his distracting thoughts.
“Are you alright, Pastor?”
He nods, blinking himself back into conversation with an older woman and her daughter. “Yes, my apologies.”
Those eyes wonder about again after the reassurance was made. Suguru knew the real answer to that question, and the one thing he could do to fix it.
The church parking lot only had about four street lights. You were under one of them, sitting atop your car, with a scent that he knew as clear as day. He shouldn’t approach you. If you looked like you wanted to be left alone, the result would have been just that. But his dress shoes keep their path, walking in your direction. Your head turns when you seemed to notice him approaching. Eyes glance at him up and down, he surely wasn’t mistaken on that. “Evening, Father.”
He greets you back with a mention of your name. Glancing away, he catches how you has a good view of everyone in the courtyard. Looking back, he asks. “Not one for these kinds of things?”
You blow out smoke to the side with a scrunch of your lips. “Not particularly.”
“May I ask why?”
Your smile feels like fingers crawling up his back. “Aren’t you off the clock, Father? No need to try and pull a confession.”
A warmth spreads on his cheeks, causing him to look away with an embarrassed chuckle. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to-“
“I’m only teasing you.”
What you pull from your pocket causes Suguru’s mouth to dry. A pack of cigarettes with a slight dent at the top. You pop open the carton, pulling out a stick. You look to the pastor, who watches your hands until he catches your gaze on him. It’s like you’re getting even worse for him to ignore— trading one slight for another.
He nods his head in your direction and you give him the pack. He hears the flicker of a lighter as he puts a cigarette on the trim oh his mouth. It parts, about to ask you for the light, until he feels something grab his shirt. Suguru looks up to catch the end of your cigarette with yours. Your eyes focus on making sure his lights, while his eyes can’t seem to turn away from your face. Not when you were so, so close. His heart picks up in light patters, hoping— praying, it was masked in his breathing.
He could only find himself to relax just as you finished lighting. You pull your head back, hand holding your sitting firm up from behind. Suguru leans his weight against the car with his back to you, entirely quiet.
There he was swirling in a spiral of water that never seemed to end. Why did you do that? The lighter was right there. He was just on the brink of being swallowed whole in your proximity. If only you ate a bit more.
He pulls the cigarette from his lips with shaky hand, blowing smoke off to the side. The silence remained so, but surprisingly to him, his shoulders begin to slack. His exhales become heavier as they roll out every stress of just that week. All in the intimate quiet you two shared.
“I suppose this was a much needed break.” He speaks up behind another inhale. You let your cigarette hang off your mouth as you glance to him. “Even you need breaks from all that religious zeal, Father?”
You were teasing him, he caught on it this time. Suguru laughs quietly, letting smoke follow after. "Of course I need a break," He replied. "As the head of this community, I feel responsible for everyone's well-being. Sometimes it's difficult to look after so many people at once.”
You both took a drag from your cigarettes. Your eyes look to the sky, watching as your smoke dissipates. Once again, you felt yourself be honest on holy ground. “I can’t imagine having to listen to them. Trying to solve every problem they have with a book older than the earth itself.”
Suguru didn’t know if he was supposed to take offense or not. But you weren’t exactly wrong. He knew how the people in the congregation operate. “People don't realize how much they project onto these ancient scriptures," Geto replied, nodding his head in agreement. "They don't consider the context of when they were written and how it may apply to their own situation."
He took another deep drag from his cigarette, exhaling the smoke. You slight your head in agreement. "Some people love to rely on something outside of themselves to tell them how to feel and how to live, I suppose."
What was that that felt like a wound in his chest? Pride?
“You don’t exactly sound like a believer.” He huffs.
“Neither do you.”
Something twists in his stomach. The same feeling of having your hand caught in the cookie jar as a child. He lashed his head to you, you and your calm expression that gives him even more whiplash. You shrug, pulling the tobacco tab from your lips. “Promise,” You finger traces an X over your chest. “I won’t tell a soul.”
Suguru catches your witty smile. Another tease, at least he had hoped with the hard swallow down his throat. Still, you did manage to get an amused exhale out of him.
“I…” He begins, only for his eyes to fall to the ground. His words change. “I just see things a bit differently than some of them.”
“Well?”
The pastor takes a quick inhale. "I believe a priest should listen to the scripture and offer guidance where needed, but also try to instill their own values and morals into the teachings."
You arch your brow. “That just seems…normal.”
He took the cigarette from his mouth, holding it in one hand as he leaned his back against the car further. "Some members think that's a blasphemous way of looking at it," he added. "That I'm perverting their precious lessons."
He laughed, exhaling a puff of smoke.
"I say, what's so blasphemous about using your own brain?"
Your brows quirk together, turning your head to the lively scene ahead of you both. “I didn’t know there were some in your congregation that find you that way.”
"I've learned a lot about my own congregation," He explained. "The members who are devout to the scripture are very sensitive to my every action. Any perceived flaw is bound to become a rumor in these circles."
Suguru paused, taking another drag. "Thankfully, I've managed to build up a good reputation within this community."
He glances over at you, eyes doing a once over before speaking. “To which you seem all the more distant from.”
You scoff, a cloud of smoke harshly pushed onto the air. You take your eyes back to the lively scene. The children playing in the grass, the sun setting behind the fumes of a grill. Chatter and booming laughter. It all seemed perfectly cut out for a holiday card. “I’m doing all this for my mother.” You murmur. “And I know when I don’t belong somewhere.”
He looks back to the ground. Those words sounded like ones that were temporary. He hoped not but the idea of you being here permanently didn’t seem too right.
A nudge of his neatly dressed shoulder snaps him out of his thoughts. His head bounces up to look at you. You were already half way down your cigarette when you talk. “Speaking of…you should go back.”
Maybe those words were his saving grace. A holy light appearing in the confusing darkness, perhaps a blessed creature creating a path to redemption. A way for his thoughts to distance themselves from your consumption. Perhaps your words were a moment of actual divine intervention.
"I think I'll stay with you." He states, almost confidently. “I…enjoy your company.”
The ends of your lips quirk up. Your hand pats a spot next to you on the hood of the car. Suguru looks between before obliging. Once he gets himself situated, he sees the view that she has of the social event. The congregation was in bursts of small groups. There was one person however, going from one group to the next with a slight of urgency. That group looks between each other, one straying off to act like the first— questioning and questioning. Suguru only let out a sigh, not a doubt in his mind what they were looking for.
You notice, turning your head to look at him. Huffing, you throw your finished cigarette on the gravel. He reluctantly goes to stand, running a hand through his hair as your hand pulls another cigarette. You place it at your lips. “Seems that’s your-“
That evening air beginning to settle in seemed long forgotten. You’re frozen in place as you’re met with his cigarette lighting the end of yours. His hands were placed on either side of you on the sleek hood. Suguru stood still between your legs to ensure that it would light— that he wouldn’t throw up his own heart. He simply just— moved. Jumped at the opportunity when it was clear for him. His tab was much shorter than when yours in the beginning of your smoke session, making your faces all the more closer. He could feel your breath tickle his face, just as still as he was. His eyes slowly look up to yours, that have been staring at him this whole time. The look within them changes. One that makes his throat too dry to speak.
“Careful there, Eve.”

Prologue
“Thank you for your hard work, everyone. Another life was saved”
Everyone in the operating room clapped in synchronized order and cheered for a successful operation for our last patient today. I smiled and gestured for the nurses waiting outside to enter and attend to our unconscious patient before leaving the surgical area.
“Good work, Doc” One of the melusines bid while I passed by the halls, followed by different medical practitioners from different departments.
I merely replied with a smile. I was tired from operating a whole number of patients, plus assisting the nurses in the emergency room for almost 24 hours now. It’s difficult being the Head Chief  of Fontaine’s medical hospital, a lot of people need me.
But, someone back home needs me more. I’m sure they can handle a day while I’m gone, right? I need to make up to my love.
“Mommy!”
I immediately brightened up when I heard her cute little voice calling for me, I picked up my pace to meet her embrace. My little girl is still small, so I had to kneel in front of her. She was still wearing her pajamas, but it looked like her babysitter fixed her appearance up before they picked me up from the hospital.
“Breakfast, mommy?” My six-year-old asked while tilting her head to the side. Isn’t she cute? Asking if her mommy has already eaten. I wonder where she got that from.
“Not yet, baby. Is croissant with strawberry jam okay? Let’s grab some on our way home.”
She nodded her head in excitement and held my hand before we started to walk, merrily humming and giggling. She must’ve missed me so much to the point she’s stuck like glue to my side. Somehow, it pains me whenever I think that I have to leave her back home again with my sister for work.
Speaking of. “Where’s Mommy-two?”
“Mommy-two dropped me off near the hospital, in the waiting shed.” She replied, then looked at me in the eye as if she was pleading. “Please don’t get mad at her, I think she has an emergency….”
I smiled at her fondly. “It’s okay, I’m not mad. I know you’re a big girl. Mommy-two informed me beforehand that you were waiting for me outside.”
My sister, Marissa, I often leave my daughter to her care whenever I have to work. She insists on taking care of Penny since her career isn’t as demanding as mine, and often offers us to live with her but I refuse. I already owe her a lot and my daughter is my responsibility.
“Mommy! Mommy look! New pastries!” Penny squealed in joy and it was like there were stars in her eyes when she pointed at the displayed pastries by the shop window.
I laughed and opened the door for her, my little girl immediately went in and looked around to find what she wanted. As for me, I went straight to the side of the counter to get a tray to put the pastries in. But instead of getting the tray, I grabbed a hand by accident.
I was about to apologize but the moment our eyes met, cold water was washed over me.
“....ah, Melissa”
I felt suffocated all of a sudden, my breathing became heavy and I was restless. I even abruptly released my hand from the tray we were holding and it fell on his feet. I apologized in a hurry, repeatedly, and almost in a chant while panicking because I didn’t know what to do.
He’s here! Wriothesley is here!
Can’t I just run away? I don't want to be here! I don't want to talk to him and I'm sure Wriothesley doesn't want to talk to me even more!
“Melissa! I’m okay. Please calm down sweetheart.”
Oh my god, I think I’m going to faint.
I badly wanted to run out of the shop especially when I heard the softness of his voice, the worry in his eyes, and the gentle way he caresses my arms in hopes of calming me down.
“Mommy? Are you okay?”
When I heard Penny’s voice full of worry, I stiffened. She was walking behind Wriothesley with her arms full of baguettes. She stopped in her tracks and her brows furrowed at the sight of  Wriothesley between us.
“Why are you touching my mommy? Who are you?”
He’s your father, baby.

A Night of Song and Laughter (Part 10)
I decided to get this story up to speed on here, so I won't have to worry about posting and updating on AO3 on a different schedule. So you'll probably get anothter part later as well! This is another big one, so get your reading monocles out!
In this one Astarion makes jokes about marriage - and maybe, just a little bit, Tav would love if it wasn't a joke some time... Also Tav thinks she's made a big mistake - so get ready for some angst.
Song for this one: Dancing with our hands tied - Taylor Swift
Rating: Explicit
Pairing: Astarion/Fem!Tav (You)
Tumblr media
(Gif from here!)
After the kiss Astarion smiled at you with a mischievous glint in his eyes and before you could protest, he grabbed you by your thighs and lifted you up and spun you around. The crowd happily cheered him on. You were only surprised for a second, grabbing for his shoulders because of the sudden loss of balance. But he held you firmly, spun and spun you, then softly set you on the ground again. You giggled almost senselessly and grabbed his face with both hands, he mirrored your emotions with a soft chuckle. Your audience stomped and clapped and demanded yet another kiss. “Should we?” Astarion asked. “You need to ask?”, you quickly replied and leaned in to give the people what they wanted.
When he broke the kiss this time, he grabbed your hands from his face and quickly moved them, so you’d spin through under his arm. With a wink and a soft motion of his head he signified you to bow. You happily obliged, earning loud whoops from everyone around. When you rose up again, you tugged on Astarion’s hand you had been holding the whole time to make him bow as well. You didn’t have to tell him twice. Ever so elegantly he bowed deeply, back straight, one foot delicately behind the other – looking like a dancer or someone ready to start a fencing match. Also – you had an excellent view of his delectable butt. The crowd clapped and cheered, someone whistled even.
Rising up he dragged your arm so you’d move up close to the vampire and held both your hands lovingly close to his chest. “What in the nine hells did just happen?”, the elf asked silently and looked at you softly.
Now that the tension from the fierce song and dance had been resolved the people slowly dispersed and went back to their drinks, companions or game of dice. The mood was different from before though – some looked positively flushed, if not to say aroused, others looked like they could really use a quick nap. Whatever had happened, it sure had been more than a simple musical act.
“I don’t know. And I don’t know what it means? Are we basically married by the Gods now or something?”, you replied and playfully pursed your lips at Astarion. The vampire laughed and moved a strand of hair out of your face, something twinkled in his ruby-red eyes: “Oh darling, if you really wanted me to put a ring on you…”, he chuckled but the look on his face was not as joking as you thought it would be. But before you could question him about his reaction, you were interrupted. “Well, not exactly married by the Gods since I am sure Gods don’t really care about such puny earthly deeds, they usually only pretend they do”, a deep velvety voice behind you said. You turned while keeping your hands on Astarion’s chest. It was of course the bard drow that had climbed down from the stage and had sauntered over while the usual tavern business had started to swell up again. Directly behind him was his partner, the female bard. She smiled sweetly and openly at you, and you couldn’t help yourself to feel inclined to her. You felt Astarion tense under your hands though. But he stayed silent, seemingly wanting the drow to just explain himself.
The drow stepped closer until he was almost as close to you as you were to Astarion. He angled his head to one side and smiled – not really in an unpleasant way but you still felt on edge. “May I?”, the drow asked, raising an eyebrow and looked at you in a way you would have taken as a serious kind of offer on any other occasion. He was pointing at your right arm.
Astarion tensed even more. When you threw him a quick glance you saw how his eyes had narrowed at the drow. You could almost feel the growl getting ready in his chest to get out. The bard lifted his hands defensively: “I mean you no harm nor any other malicious thing. I’d be a fool to lay a hand on your companion, high elf, not after you successfully completed the ritual. I merely intended to show you something.” The vampire’s tension eased slightly but he was still standing stock-still.
You cleared your throat and slightly turned to the drow, offering him your arm. He took it and rolled up your sleeve to your elbow – was there something shining on it? Then the drow turned to Astarion, who’s shirt had already been rolled up to his elbow so you had no trouble seeing that there was also something shining on his forearm. Your brows furrowed trying to get a closer look, but the drow made you put your arm to Astarion’s so you were both holding onto each other’s wrists. And when you touched you could suddenly see it a lot more clearly all of a sudden: on your arm seemed to have appeared a kind of tattoo, slightly and iridescently shimmering in a mix of mother-of-pearl and silver. It had taken the form of a delicate vine decorated with beautiful blossoms, twisting and turning up to your wrist. You gasped loudly, your eyes widening, and looked up at Astarion in shock. The vampire’s eyes had widened as well and you could see his gulp as he slowly, as if too scared to look, twisted your wrist to show what had appeared on his forearm. And there, in the same colour like on your skin was another pattern moving from his elbow up to his wrist to where your bodies connected: his markings looked like the embroidery you might find on a fine doublet, all curves and swirls and undulations. It was incredibly beautiful just as yours were, but you couldn’t help the incredible panic and guilt that started raising in your stomach.
You were now the reason another sort of claim had been placed on Astarion’s body without his consent. You drew your hand back in a rush and grabbed your arm with the markings and cradled it to your chest as if it had been hurt. Your eyes shot to Astarion’s which had been staring at his forearm but now were filled with sudden hurt. Realizing you’d sent the entirely wrong message you immediately wrapped your arms around him and hugged him tightly while burying your face in his shirt. You could feel tears well up in your eyes again. At that moment you couldn’t form words – the whole night had been a rush of happenings, lots of alcohol, you felt so exhausted. Astarion softly held you, but you could feel the hesitation in his posture.
Before you could completely spiral a soft touch on your shoulder made you lift your face from Astarion’s chest and turn your head. The wood elf had stepped close and offered you an understanding and warm glance. “It can be a lot to take in. Trust us, we know”, she spoke softly and looked up to her partner next to her. She grabbed the drow’s arm in the same manner you and Astarion had held each other’s wrist a moment ago. Once they touched you could see a similar set of marking albeit of very different styles. His were shadowy tendrils, hers branches of a tree and feathers. They also glimmered in the same way, silvery-white like moonlight.
Then the wood elf stepped to you again and touched your cheek softly in a way you would’ve found way too intimate for someone you didn’t know. But it comforted you. “This is a blessing by the Gods. The markings showing how your souls belong to each other but also who you each are at your core.” She looked deeply into your eyes, then moved to cradle Astarion’s face the same way she had done with you.
“And you must remember that this is an incredible gift, freely given with no strings attached. Not binding, not hurting, merely an offer and an opportunity very few will ever experience”, she continued, her thumb moving over Astarion’s cheekbone. Surprisingly you could actually feel him lose some of his tension under her caress.
With another smile the female bard stepped back and smoothly threw a long strand of her powder-pink hair over her shoulder before grabbing the hand of her soulmate again, looking up at him adoringly. “We will leave you now – enjoy the rest of the night”, the drow finally said and offered a nod. You returned his gesture and quickly smiled at the female elf before turning back to your soulmate. “Thank you”, Astarion solemnly offered and bowed his head slightly. Then the two bards left you.
There was still some space people left around you, so you used the moment of small-ish privacy to grab Astarion’s hands again – which immediately made both your markings flare up a little. They were still pretty subtle and could easily be hidden by a shirt sleeve but it made you wince nonetheless. “I… I don’t know what to say, Astarion, I…”, you started but where again interrupted when you saw Daegin and Lira approaching from the corner of your eye.
“Looks like you’ve gotten yourself into something, huh, Astarion”, Daegin said teasingly grinning. But his smile immediately dropped when he felt the mood wasn’t exactly thrilled – or maybe it was because Lira whacked him on the back of his head. “I think, it’s best for me to drag this damn dwarf home and then hit the hay as well”, the half-elf spoke to you with some concern in her eyes. “You mean the other way round, I’m not letting a lady walk home alone on her own”, the damned dwarf immediately protested to which Lira shushed him.
“Anyways, you two look like you might just want some privacy now, so we’ll leave and just meet again soon here. Maybe around the same time next week?”, she offered. You and Astarion nodded wordlessly in agreement. So your two friends made to leave – not without Daegin giving Astarion a kind of awkward pat on the back. When they had left it was only the two of you still standing in the open space in front of the now empty stage.
You looked up into Astarion’s eyes and he looked back into yours. The hurt you had seen there had subsided but still he looked… afraid.
You opened your mouth but, like a fish, no sound came out. But you though of something. “Will you come with me? I know there’s a balcony here. Maybe we can get some air there and talk”, you whispered silently since you didn’t feel able to speak any louder at the moment. Your eyes were pleading and Astarion simply nodded and motioned you to lead the way. So, you did. Back up the stairs to the gallery past a bickering Kirin which you both simply ignored. You walked over to the bar which was mostly empty at this time.
The bar maid came over: “Oh hey, it’s you again. I wasn’t sure the first time but I think I know you – Tav, right? You come here often with your friends don’t you?” She beamed at you – she was a beautiful blonde woman with rosy cheeks and round loveable face. “And oh, so you must be the lucky lady this one was talking to the half-elf about right. Hey, you were also here together once tonight, but you were fighting like two street cats, so I thought you must be friends or mortal enemies or something.” She happily blabbered on while connecting all the dots of all the conversation she obviously picked up on. You carefully threw Astarion a side glance and caught him doing the same which made both of you immediately smile. Happy that at least some of the tension already seemed to falter between the two of you, you turned back to the woman’s rambling: “And weren’t you two also the ones the crowd went crazy over? Are you famous or something? Oh, and how was the bottle of Maeve’s specialty – good, right? Want another one? You only need to ask nicely.” At that part she leaned over the bar a bit and winked knowingly at Astarion.
You turned to your partner, now already starting to feel the slightest bit pissed off. But Astarion cleared his throat with a cough and graciously ignored the wink and its intention: “We are not looking for a drink, we were simply wondering if there was a space where we could have some privacy to talk, say a balcony or something?” The blonde looked from him to you and back to the pale elf. “To talk, hm? Alright, because it’s you, I’ll allow it. To the right next to the counter is a door and after that a small corridor, the door at the end let’s you out on a balcony. But keep the talking decent – we have enough complaints from neighbours as is.” Opting just to ignore the commentary, Astarion simply nodded in thanks to her, then grabbed your hand and softly dragged you along. He opened the first door for you and elegantly stretched out his arm to let you go in first, all while in silence. You felt uneasiness creep up your spine again at his behaviour – silence really didn’t become him and was completely untypical for him.
As you walked down the corridor in silence you wondered in a passing thought how much just one door already helped to keep out the busy noises from the tavern.
“So”, Astarion finally said, relieving you from suffering in silence “was that the famous Maeve, by the way?” You looked to him over your shoulder: “I don’t think so. And I guess no one really knows – for all I know it could be secretly a dog running this place.” That thought made the vampire chuckle.
Then you reached the door, opened it and found yourself on a small stone balcony; railing overgrown with ivy, looking out on a small back courtyard. You dimly remembered trying to climb off the balcony trying to flee a brawl and almost breaking your neck.
The moon was almost full in the dark night sky, crisp night air filled your lungs, and it was primarily one thing – almost perfectly silent. Which was surprising for you coming out of a tavern and a huge city surrounding you. You closed your eyes for one short moment when you stepped out on the balcony. Astarion was standing next to you. Seemingly also sighing in relief at the sudden freshness and silence.
You plucked up your courage and turned to Astarion, he mimicked you. Openly, you looked into his eyes hoping to already convey with your eyes what you’re about to say. But as you saw into his ruby eyes that are so open and vulnerable and full of love at the same time, you decided to stand on your tiptoes, close your eyes and kiss him first. It is a sweet kiss, almost chaste. Your lips’ touches featherlight. The vampire lifted a hand to your face, softly cradling your cheek in his cool palm. You stretched out your arms to wrap them around his neck, so he bowed down a little.
It also almost felt like a do-over for the first kiss you ever shared: which had been incredible and unforgettable but laden with too many other intentions.
When you opened your eyes again and softly broke the kiss, you breathed in to speak. So did Astarion. And then you both stood there, mouths open to say something. “You first, love”, he whispered softly and gave you a peck on the tip of your nose, the faintest hint of worry in his tone and eyes.
You cleared your throat and spoke: “Astarion, I’m… I’m sorry, first of all. When I withdrew my hand back there when the bard was explaining what all this stuff had meant, it might’ve come across as me recoiling from the thought of being bound to you for all eternity, when in fact, that’s not it at all. Because I would love that! Selfish as I am, I want you to be mine forever. But I would never, never force you to. And so, I feel like I forced you to do something that you did not consent to and also… now you have new markings on your body without you getting a say in it and I feel awful about putting you through this and…” You started sobbing, breathing in raggedly like having little hiccups. Astarion grabbed your face and made you look at him: “Hush, darling, shhh! You are spiraling! Shh, it’s alright!” His thumbs moved calmingly over your face: over your brows, beneath your yes, rubbing circles on your temples. When you had calmed down a bit, he finally spoke: “Listen, my heart, I was taken aback when you whipped your hand from mine, because I thought the moment I fear the most had come when you realized that it was actually a terrible idea to be with me, let alone for eternity.” Your brows immediately furrowed and you wanted to protest, but Astarion put a finger to your lips with an “uh, uh, uh”. “But I realize I was wrong – a rare occasion but it does happen maybe once ore twice in a century. And before you say, yes, I really do believe you want me by your side – at least for now.” That put a stop to you wanting to protest for the moment although it still broke your heart to hear that he still thought you would change your mind sometime in the future.
“And as for this”, the vampire continued and lifted up his marked arm. The swirls and curves were now barely visible as if the light had burned out for the night. “I understand what you are trying to say and also yes, it is a bit off-putting and I will have to get used to it but it is still an entirely different thing from what Cazador put me through.” He twisted his forearm back and forth to look at the pattern: “In fact it is quite beautiful, don’t you think? Yours too. But to be honest I am almost more inclined to find out about what other things this blessing might have in store for us.” His eyes went back to yours. “You think there is more about it?” “Oh, I am sure there is more, but that’s not for tonight, my love. I think we already had  a night, didn’t we?” You hummed in agreement and put your arms around his neck again and tip-toeing. He took the hint to kiss you.
This time the kiss was much deeper than the one before. Lust and need tangled with it. Astarion softly moaned into your mouth, then lifted you up and softly set you on the railing where you could easily also wrap your legs around his waist. He went to deepen the kiss even more when another thought crossed your mind. You broke the kiss, earning a displeased grunt from the elf. “When you said… you’d put a ring me. Did you mean that?”, you asked him breathlessly. Astarion blinked, obviously surprised by the sudden change in topic. “Hmm, of course I would if that is what you wanted. Maybe not right now or rather not yet, although” – he lifted his marked arm again – “as the drow said, what more could it possibly mean after this?” You pout at him. “Well, I don’t know, could be nice, you know, when the time is right”, you mumbled. Astarion threw his head back to laugh: “Alright, noted. Tav wants a real wedding when the time ss right, with a real ring. I’ll happily buy you the biggest one I can find in Baldur’s Gate, no, Faerun!” “I don’t care about all that shit with diamonds and pearls, you could put a paper ring on my finger for all I care. Also – you are full of shit.” The vampire chuckled: “Don’t discredit my love for you that way, darling.” Your eyes widened and you swung to box his shoulder – which almost send you sailing backwords off the railing.
But thankfully the elf caught you from breaking your delectable little neck with a shocked facial expression and immediately put you on steady ground. “Leave me a piece if you actually want to get married one day. And now let’s please stop talking about this, all this sweet-talk will make me throw up.” You moved to box him again but he easily dodged and grabbed your hand. Keeping hold of it, he leaned down to kiss you again.
You were still standing there, all tangled up in each other and halfway to letting it become not decent, when the door to the balcony slammed open and Kirin stepped out. He was completely out of breath, leaning on his knees. When he had regained some he said: “By the Gods, ye damned elves, keep it in ye pants! Lass, pretty face, ye need to leave, right ‘bout now!”

=====================================
A young man dressed casually walks along the back of the concert, finding a comfortable spot among the empty seats at the back. He sees many beautiful girls walk out to the stage and preparing to perform for a special stage.
There were many beautiful faces but he smiled, focusing his attention on one of them. They waved at the fans who have been waiting for them to do this special stage, one of the girls looking around, as if looking for somebody that she is waiting for.
The girl spotted him and started smiling brightly, waving in the general direction to where he was sitting. The young man keep on a serious face and posed a little finger heart for her. Making her blush and look away, himself smiling like a fool after seeing her reaction.
She looked back at him, showing a small finger heart at his direction.
Then the girls started performing, dancing and singing along to the song. He smiled and clapped along to the music. In the middle of the performance, he took out a large fan board saying, "KIM MINJU! KIM MINJU!" and started swinging the board, making her smile brightly during the performance.
After the performance, everyone left the concert except for the young man, who sat the back and waited for Minju to come after the performance. The idols have a chat with the director and staffing team, who praised them for a successful performance before they head into the make-up room to remove their make up and change out of their outfits.
While waiting, the young man gave a box of cheese cake to the staff for them to share.
"Thank you for the cheesecake. You always bring something for us when you come over." The staff thanked.
"No worries, glad that you like it."
"I will tell Minju that you are waiting for her"
"It's okay, let her take her time. I can wait for her."
After awhile, the man looked back down at his watch and the paper bag that he brought. Just then, Minju came by and tapped his shoulders. "Sorry, did you wait very long for me?" She asked, sitting down at the seat beside him.
"No, your performance was amazing. I like your voice and your dance." He complimented, making Minju blush.
"Really? I was worried that it might not be good..." Minju confessed.
"You are Kim Minju, you can do it!" He cheered her on.
Then he picked up the paper bag and took out some of Minju's favourite dessert, Cheesecake.
"Thank you, Y/n. You must have been tired... You said today you were going to inspect the factories and store outlets around the city. How was it?" Minju asked.
"It was tiring, there was alot of travelling and talking with the staff and all. But... Now that I am with you, I am no longer tired. You give me energy and motivate me." Y/n said,  smiling at Minju's reaction who is blushing and laughing when he held her hand.
=====================================================================================
As Y/n is walking with Minju around the streets, and having their own date in the cold winter. Y/n decided to talk about Minju's contract extension. "Minju... Your contract is expiring with your agency. What are you planning to do?" Y/n asked, wondering what is her next move.
"I think... I will be signing as an actress under another company. A company that has more experience and can help me in my career." Minju said, while she held on to his arm and continued walking, feeling the warmth of Y/n's body.
"Why not... take a break from all and have good rest. You have been working alot, you deserved a break." Y/n said, stopping and looking at Minju's eyes.
"My mom is sick, she's in the hospital. I need the money to take care of her and for her to do surgery. And you know my father..." Minju stopped before continuing to walk on her own, looking down.
"Don't worry, I will take care of you and your mother. Let's get married, and you will have nothing to worry about." Y/n said, chasing up to her, and proposing for them to get married.
Minju smiled back, "You sure you want to get married this young? I thought men usually like to enjoy being unmarried for a while more." She teased.
"As long as i'm marrying you, nothing can worry me." Y/n said, making her blush and look down.
"Have you told your father about us yet?" She asked, making Y/n hesitate a little.
"You haven't told him, have you?" Minju asked again, confirming his suspicions when Y/n nodded guiltily.
"I haven't had the chance to... It's just that... You know... He is very strict about finding a wife and all." Y/n explained.
"What if... Your father doesnt approve of me and wants you to marry some other girl... Someone who is rich and even prettier than me." Minju asked, worried that she might lose him.
"No! It will never happen. I will make sure that we are together, no matter what." Y/n assured her.
"Okay. I trust you." Minju said, smiling as they held each other's hands.
====================================================================================
The next day, when Y/n is at the office, he came to his father's office and wanted to talk to him about Minju. But his father asked him to go home and get into a fresh new outfit before coming back to the office.
Once he was back, his father and him got into a car and the chauffeur started driving without his father speaking a word..
"Dad? Where are we going, we are supposed to still be working at this time." Y/n asked, wondering where they are going.
"Don't worry, and just sit quietly." His father told him.
Soon they arrived at an expensive, luxurious restaurant, where they went to a private dining room. Upon entering the room, he realised what was going on.
His father wanted to set him up with one of Korea's biggest companies' heiresses.
As they sat down, the girl's parents and his father were talking happily. They were satisfied to see their child's future spouse. They even called a matchmaking lady to see if they were compatible, to which the lady said yes.
"The groom is talented and is already helping his father to manage the business at a young age. While the bride is pretty and educated, she will be sure to help her future husband in his business dealings." The matchmaking lady said.
Y/n sighed as he realised the mess that he has gotten into.
=======================================================================================
After the lunch, where the Y/n met the girl and her parents, their parents asked them to go out on a date and know more about each other. Y/n wanted to refuse but he didn't want to embarrass his father or the girl and her parents. So he decided to agree first before saying he had something to attend to.
Y/n and the girl walked in the streets of Gangnam, the girl seemingly happy about the prospect of having Y/n as her husband. Y/n meanwhile thinking about how he needs to solve this big issue.
He wants to marry Minju...
So as they continued taking a slow walk, until they met a cafe, the girl suggested to go to the doctor. "I'm feeling cold. Let's take a seat in the cafe and we can talk. It's warmer inside."
"Sure." Y/n forced a smile.
Once inside, they both ordered drinks and found a seat beside the window where they get a very nice view of the streets.
The girl introduced herself before asking Y/n about his hobbies, what he does in the company. Y/n just answering them, and waiting for them to pass by.
"Hi... my name is..."
By an hour, Y/n decided it was enough and he told the girl that he had matters to tend to in the company and he had to go.
When they were both leaving and about to exit the cafe. Y/n saw Minju walking from a distance and panicked. He quickly stopped the girl at the door.
The girl was flustered when Y/n stopped her with his body and he asked her if she wanted to have a longer conversation,
"Actually, the weather is great. Do you want to go back in for another conversation? The company matters can come later." Y/n suggested.
"Sure!" The girl lit up.
Then Y/n quickly pulled her by the hand and sat at the same seat where they were originally.
Once they had their drinks served and continued talking, Y/n let out a sigh of relief as he didn't see any traces of Minju nearby.
He looked back at the girl who was sitting in front of him, who wanted to know more about him.
"So... what was your name again? Sorry, I'm a little bad with names." Y/n asked, this time actually paying attention.
"My name is Wonyoung... Jang Won-young!" She said brightly, happy that her soon-to-be husband is interested in getting to know her.
"My name is Y/n.... Lee Y/n." Y/n introduced himself.
Y/n looked around and out the window, hoping that Minju is no longer around. Y/n decided to spend awhile talking to Wonyoung before he leaves.
Wonyoung asked a few questions about his hobby and talked about her's, before she talked about what kind of wife she would be. All the while, maintaining an aura of pleasant, and something about her that shouts expensive.
"I would be a wife that would stay at home and take care of the children. I can also help you in your business. I seen how my parents work the business and I learned a few things, hopefully it will be of help to you." Wonyoung said, her hands on her lap, maintaining the elegant pose.
Hearing her plans for when she is married to him in the future, Y/n got uneasy and forced a smile. "Are you still studying or have you graduated?" Y/n asked, slightly interested since Wonyoung mentioned she learned a few things about business.
"Ah~ I just started university a year ago..." Wonyoung said, shy.
"A year ago !?!? H-How old are you???" Y/n asked, surprised and bewildered.
"I am about to reach 20 years old this year." Wonyoung said, brushing her hair to the side of her ear.
"I know you are 24 years old already, and graduated from Seoul National University. And you did it, with honors." Wonyoung said.
"How did you know?" Y/n asked, surprised.
"Your father told me." Wonyoung answered politely.
Y/n nodded.
"I think it's getting late. How about we go home?" Y/n asked.
Wonyoung agreed and got up with Y/n. Y/n took a quick scan around the area and was worried that Minju might still be around.
"Are you leaving now?" Wonyoung asked, her eyes shining at him.
"I will send you home first." Y/n said, making Wonyoung smile at him.
Y/n flagged a taxi and opened the door for Wonyoung to sit first before he sat inside.
Little did he know... Minju saw him and Wonyoung... She observes them for a while and sees them leaving together in a taxi...
=================================================
That night, Y/n went to Minju's show and brought gifts for the staff and her. He got into his seat, found Minju and smiled at her, waving at Minju.
Minju looked at him for a while but did not smile back. In fact, she looked like something was on her mind throughout the night.
When the show ended and Y/n went to look for Minju. She looked a little sad and followed him to his car.
They both sat in the car, however their expressions were different.
Y/n was excited to see her while Minju was disappointed.
"Do you want to go eat? I found a new place." Y/n suggested.
"I saw you with a girl today..." Minju admitted.
"Y-You saw me?" Y/n stuttered guiltily.
"Who is she? Is she the girl that your father wants you to marry?" Minju asked.
Y/n nodded, ashamed.
"So you have not told your father about me? About our relationship?" Minju questioned.
"I..." Y/n was at a loss of words.
Minju disappointed, asked him, "What are you going to do now?"
"The marriage isn't confirmed yet. I'm hoping to convince my father to let me decide on my own marriage." Y/n said, hoping to reassure Minju.
"I even got a ring for you." Y/n said, taking out a box which contains marriage rings and showed it to Minju.
"Trust me please. I really want to marry you Minju." Y/n pleaded with Minju.
"I don't know... I'm really worried. I don't come from a rich family. The girl that I saw today... She is pretty and carries around a rich aura. I'm assuming she's a heiress." Minju said, sadness obvious in her voice.
"I will tell my father about you soon. Please give me some time." Y/n held Minju's hand.
"You have been saying that for a long time. I think we should stop seeing each other if this is not going to work out." Minju said, releasing her hand from Y/n's grasp.
"Minju!" Y/n reached out, hoping to stop Minju.
But Minju unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car, walking away.
==================================================
Y/n went to the office, sighing, stressed and not know what to do. He doesn't want to disappoint his father but he loves Minju. He went up to his office and heard some voices in the office's resting area.
"Ah, boss. Why are you sighing?" A voice said.
"I'm just glad that my son is now fully grown up, and he's about to get married." Y/n's father said.
"See! Look at boss! Ever since he seen his future daughter-in-law, he has been smiling from ear to ear." Another voice said.
"I still remember how when Y/n was a kid and followed his father around in the old company office. He looked weak and was always sick." One voice said.
"I'm just glad that he grew up well and is healthy." Y/n's father said.
"He is also fit, and studies well. He graduated from a top university as well. Can you imagine that?" One of the voice continued.
"I don't expect much from Y/n to be honest... I just want him to marry a decent girl, have some kids and live a good life. I'm planning to pass the company to him once he is more experienced and ready to manage the company." His father confessed.
"Ah, boss. You are preparing to retire already!"
"I started this company from nothing. Now that the company is big and developed, I can finally pass over to my son. I am also growing old, I can't manage it forever." His father joked.
Y/n could hear the sound of Soju being opened and poured, his father and his long-time employees celebrating.
He sighed once again and left the office. He drove to the Han River, where Minju and him used to go on dates all the time.
Now, late at night, and alone. Y/n looked at the blue river and smiled, looking back at the memories of him and Minju. He relaxed and took a deep breathe.
"What should I do..." He mumbled.
He sat for an hour alone, before he drove back home and took a rest for the night.
==================================================================
It had been a week since Y/n met Minju. This time, they agreed to meet at the Han River, where they had many memories together.
"Minju." Y/n said happily, when he finally saw Minju after a week.
"Have you told your father about us?" Minju asked.
Y/n looked down and shook her head.
"So you really are going to marry that girl instead." Minju realised.
"I don't want to! But... I don't wan't to disappoint my father." Y/n admitted to Minju.
"But how about... you be my mistress?" Y/n asked, timidly and ashamed.
"Mistress...?" Minju felt shocked at his request.
"You know that my mother raised me alone single-handedly, and I grew up without knowing my father." Minju started to have tears in her eyes.
"How can you ask me to be a mistress?" Minju cried.
"Minju... I..." Y/n felt helpless.
"I don't want to force you. I will leave." Minju said, wiping her tears away and turning around to walk away.
"Minju! Are you going to give up on our relationship." Y/n asked, helding on to her hand.
Minju looked back at him in sadness and left him alone.
===================================================================
"Appa, can I talk to you about something?" Y/n asked, when he reached home.
"What's wrong?" His father asked, concerned and sitting at the couch.
"Do you want to come out for a meal with me?" Y/n asked, sitting beside his father at the couch and looking at him.
"Sure." His father agreed.
Y/n brought his father to a restaurant where it was peaceful and pleasant environment.
"Why did you bring me here?" His father asked as they entered the restaurant.
"I want to show you someone." Y/n said, smiling.
When they were led to a private table, Minju was already sitting and waiting for them.
"Who is she?" Y/n's father asked.
"She's Minju, my girlfriend." Y/n revealed.
"Girlfriend!?!" His father was shocked to hear him.
"You are supposed to get married soon, what are you doing?"
"Minju and I have been dating for a long while. I wanted to tell you about it, but I couldn't find a good opportunity..." Y/n answered, gathering up the courage to say what he didn't dare to say for the past few months.
"She looks familar." His father asked, looking at Minju carefully.
"Minju is a singer, she is also an actress and music show host." Y/n introduced, smiling at Minju and proud of her.
"A singer? Also a host?" His father was infuriated and looked at Y/n, disappointed.
"Why did you choose to date someone like that?" He continued.
Y/n didnt expect his father's reactions and looked at Minju who was scared.
"Appa, Minju is a good woman. She is good at singing, kind and gentle!" Y/n argued.
"You are already engaged with Wonyoung. Don't do anything that will embarrass me." His father scolded him.
Minju held her hands tightly, nervous and did not know what to say or do.
His father gave him an ultimatum. "If you decide to cancel your engagement, and marry this girl. I will disown you!" His father said to Y/n, looking at Minju angrily before walking away.
"Appa!" Y/n called after his father, hoping to stop him, but to no avail.
Y/n looked at Minju before chasing after his father. Minju herself left behind, looking pathetic as she sat alone at the restaurant.
=========================================================================
After that incident, Minju and Y/n did not talk ever again. Even when Y/n called or texted Minju to contact her, she did not reply to him.
It had been 3 months, and it was close to Chuseok, an event that is auspicious and it is also an time of the year where familes gather together to celebrate and spend time together.
Chuseok was also the day where Y/n and Wonyoung was supposed to be married, but Y/n has been thinking of Minju. He wants to cancel the marriage but he is not willing to offend his father and the Jang family.
On the weekend, Y/n went to Minju's last day as a MC and see Minju again, having missed her so dearly.
However, he couldn't enter the building and wasn't allowed to see Minju. Minju herself even hiding and running away from Y/n when the show ended.
3 days later, Y/n was coming off from work when the director of the show contacted Y/n.
"Y/n, are you free right now?" The director asked.
"Yes, I am in my car right now, driving back home." Y/n answered.
"Can you come over to the SBS building? I have something to pass you." The director asked.
"Is it is something important?" Y/n asked.
"It's from Minju. She have this handwritten letter for you." The director said, which made Y/n turn around and drive quickly to the building.
Y/n arrived at the building and received the letter. "Is there something wrong with you and Minju? I never seen you at her mother's funeral." The director said as he passed the letter to Y/n.
"Her mother died!?!?" Y/n asked in shock.
"She didn't tell you? Her mom died 2 days ago. That night, when Minju finished her last day of being the MC. She didnt even stay behind for a farewell party, she immediately went to see her mom in the hospital. That night, her mom passed away..." The director informed him.
"Well, tonight she gave me this letter and told me to pass it to you tomorrow but  I need to catch a flight tonight." The director said, before leaving the building.
Y/n opened the handwritten letter from Minju.
'Y/n Oppa,
I don't want to trouble you nor don't I want you to be disowned by your father. I love you but I hope your marriage to Miss Jang is happy, You should forget about me.
Now that my mother is dead, I no longer have any family with me. There is no more meaning for me to leave in this world.
I will leave this world and join my mother in another world. Don't worry about me, I will be with my mother, and I will be happy.
By the time, you see this letter, the news of my body being discovered in the Han River should have reached you.
Please do not blame me for being selfish.
Love,
Minju.'
Upon reading the letter, Y/n quickly got on his car and drive immediately to the Han River.
Y/n prayed as he drove, hoping to stop Minju before she commits sucide.
Once he reaches the Han river, he ran to the spot where Y/n and Minju spend the most time around and once he reached the place. He ran around, hoping to find a glance of Minju.
While looking around, Y/n found Minju walking slowly down to the river. Y/n took off his shoes, trying to grab Minju back and away from the water.
"Minju! I'm here!" Y/n shouted as he ran into the water.
"Stop!" Y/n shouted at Minju, as he sees Minju submerging into the water. He dived into the water and grab Minju away.
Y/n pulled Minju away and got onto the ground.
Minju spit out water, coughing once she got pulled onto the ground. Y/n too himself, spitting out water and lying down on the ground. Happy and smiling that he was able to save Minju.
"Oppa? Why are you here?" Minju asked, looking at Y/n, herself wet and hair all messy.
Y/n pulled her into a tight hug and kissed her. "Why didn't you tell me that your mother was sick? Even when she died, you should have told me!" Y/n berated her.
"I don't want to disturb you from your marriage. You are getting married soon, and... I am no longer your girlfriend..." Minju said, pushing Y/n away.
"No! Minju, when I read that letter and on the way here. I realised that I love you, I can't lose you." Y/n explained.
"I am going to cancel the marriage and marry you." He continued.
"What about your father?" Minju asked, worried.
"I'm sure my father will understand. If it means me getting disowned and offending the Jangs'. So be it. I know that I can't lose you." Y/n said, holding Minju's hand.
Minju smiled and nodded, hugging him.
Y/n told his father about his decision and even told his father that he will love Minju forever. His father, helpless, could only give in to Y/n and even helped him cancel his wedding with the Jangs'.
Instead, Y/n would marry Minju and they held a small private wedding.
In a year's time, Minju would give birth to their first child together, a son.
"Minju, I'm very thankful that today you are alive and married to me. I can't imagine a life without you.. Or our son." Y/n said, patting Minju's hair after she gave birth to their son.
Y/n kissed Minju on her cheeks.
"I love you."

marry me, idiot - chapter three
Tumblr media
okay, I'm sorry this took so long, but like I've been saying!!! I'm updating as I finish, which isn't something I've done before, so it might be a bit longer between updates!! I hope you guys enjoy this!! 💓 2.7k words
series masterlist
It seemed like everyone in the office has crammed themselves into the Pit shooting area.
The set led you to believe that you might've been playing Beopardy, but the questions board was nowhere in sight.
You and Spencer were situating yourselves on a set of stools in the middle of the table, two stools on your right and two more on Spencer's left.
Shayne stood in front of the table, conversing with Kiana as he prepared to host, making sure his mic pack was on.
Your partner in crime and you began whisper yelling at Kiana, trying desperately to get her attention, both of you wanting answers.
"What are Rhett and Link doing here?" You hissed, palms flat on the table as you leaned across with wide eyes. Spencer nodded vigorously beside you, his eyes widened as well.
"Okay, lan wanted to do a newlyweds game with you guys and a few other sets of best friends, just ones that aren't engaged." You two nodded along as Kiana spoke. "So when he went to lunch with Rhett and Link today, he told them the idea and they loved it. Bossman swapped this shoot with another Pit shoot. We weren't planning on doing this for months." Spencer sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. You nodded, brows still furrowed in confusion.
"That's great, I'll probably strangle lan later, but why are Rhett and Link here, like right now?" You spoke in a hush, your eyes darting frantically from where the duo stood to Kiana.
"Well, they said they had the free time to watch it, but I think Ian may have asked them to join you guys, so.." Kiana grinned awkwardly, knowing how quickly your faces would drop from showing any semblance of happiness. Ki thanked her lucky stars as Lizzy called out to her, allowing her an excuse to leave you two. "Spence, we really have to sell this, I don't wanna disappoint the work dads." You took his hand in yours, squeezing softly as you angled yourself toward him as he sighed, nodding his head.
"I didn't expect them to care this much, honestly." He chuckled as a clap on his shoulder causing him to jump.
"Congrats you crazy kids!" Link cheered, grinning as he looked between the two of you. "Marriage is so exciting and y'all are just marrying your best friend; y'all are gonna be so happy together." He laughed, pushing his glasses up a bit as both of your cheeks tinged bright pink.
You bashfully thanked him, making small talk between the three of you before Brennan called for places.
Spencer let out a sigh of relief when the Mythical duo sat on the stools closest to you, the ones beside him still left empty.
Rhett whispered a congratulations and squeezed your shoulder as he walked behind you. You turned to your right, met with grins and thumbs up from the both of them.
After a bit of bullshitting with the crew, Noah and Keith finally strolled in about half an hour later, quickly taking their stools beside Spence's. You two found this game to be quite easy, sitting beside each other for eight years and helped you two pull far ahead of the other's.
Rhett and Link gave your pair another round of congratulations as they said their goodbyes.
Shayne finally got a free moment to talk to the two of your after you'd removed your mic pack, handing it off to Brennan.
"You guys did great, with the show and the show you put on." Shayne chuckled, keeping his voice quiet as you laughed, a blush creeping on to your cheeks as Spencer laughed.
You and Spencer had blown everyone out of the water from he very beginning, nailing every question. Eventually you two settled on bullshit answers, allowing the other's to catch up a bit. You still managed to rack up 24 points, Koah with 17, and the Mythical duo had 15.
The three of you said your goodbyes and went your separate ways. As you and Spencer headed toward your office space, you intertwined your fingers with his, grinning brightly at him.
Spencer gave your hand a gentle squeeze and smiled back.
You continued through your routine in comfortable silence; there was a mutual understanding that today had been a lot on both of you, more than you had expected.
You said your goodbyes to a few people before Brennan halted you, calling you over to his desk, Spencer not far behind you.
You two looked at the monitor over the taller man's shoulders, a smile blooming over your cheeks and a blush across Spencer's cheeks. You didnt know what to say, the picture was so perfect. The screen was taken up by a shot from this morning.
You stood with your arms wrapped around Spencer's shoulders in the photo, his around your waist, your foreheads pressed together as you smile at each other.
Spencer wanted that picture tattooed on the inside of his brain. You both looked at each other with so much love, it was so much better than any of you had expected.
"Say something, please. Ki and Alex were about to cry when I showed them." Brennan chuckled, glancing at Spencer, who meets him with a massive grin.
"That's amazing, Bren. I can't believe it." Spencer gripped his friends shoulder softly, the excitement buzzing through him as the next picture appeared.
You gasped softly, pouting your bottom lip out. It was a shot of your left hand outstretched, your fingertips gently pressing against Spencer's as your ring shown in the early morning light.
"Okay," Brennan closed the tab as you huffed, Spencer scoffing a bit. "I can't show you anymore, Rachel has to pick out which ones were gonna use, then send you guys everything."
You two did attempt to protest, but Brennan shut his monitor off, putting an end to any further arguments.
You had every intention of dropping Spencer off at his apartment and then leaving, but your bladder had other plans.
You left the bathroom wiping the residual water on your hands off on your pants, smiling brightly at Spencer as he sat at his desk, an absurd amount of tabs opened on his laptop.
"I know there's gonna be a budget for this wedding thing but can we put up money for it if we want to?" Spencer asked as you approached him, resting your head on shoulder as he clicks through various different shotgun wedding chapels in Los Angeles.
"I mean, I don't see why we can't, but what exactly are we paying for Spence?" You chuckled as he leaned back in the chair, turning to press a soft kiss to your cheek. He closed his laptop and set it aside, patting his desk as an invitation for you to sit.
He rolled his chair back as you sat, scooting himself a little closer again, sitting just between your legs, his hands on your knees as he grinned up at you.
"Okay, this is just an idea, so hear me out." You nodded slowly, used to hearing Spencer's ridiculous ideas out. You were normally very encouraging of anything he'd presented, but now that you were gonna be directly effected, again, by this one, you were understandably hesitant.
"l'm thinking that we can rent out a little wedding chapel for the day and shoot the actual wedding. I'm trying to contact a few and see if we'd be allowed to film in the first place, but basically, we can rent out a chapel, have the whole shebang of a shotgun wedding, and we end with saying 'I don't' instead." He grinned, shaking your legs softly as he sat back in the chair.
Spencer took a deep breath, his eyes locked on yours as he watched the gears turning, knowing that every outcome of this was running through your mind. Eventually you shrugged, laughing softly.
"Email the idea to Ki, lan, and Lizzy to make sure they're all cool with it and then we can look into it,"
You punctuated your sentence with a smile and a nod, Spencer springing from his seat to wrap his arms around your waist, resting his head on your shoulder.
"I can't wait to not marry you dude." He chuckled, grinning as you wrapped your arms around his shoulders, pulling him in tighter.
"What if we did get married, though?" You laughed, biting your lip as Spencer pulled away, a puzzled look on his face.
"Well, like, for the benefits, like we planned to before. I'm not looing for anyone and you said you weren't either, so what do we have to lose? It'd be kinda fun to pull one over on the office, too, yanno." You explained as you felt your cheeks quickly redden, never before had you noticed Spencer's eyes quite like this. You followed as he gazed you over, his baby blue's seemed to take in every detail of your body before his eyes met yours again.
You took a deep breath, shuffling in your seat and straightening your back. Goddamnit, Spencer didn't make it easy to be his best friend when he did things like that.
All you wanted to do was jump into his arms and kiss him until he was all you could taste, smell, feel. You wanted so badly to tangle your fingers in his hair as you two became a mess of limbs and moans. You didn't want anyone touching him like that for the rest of his life.
This was the closest you could get to that.
The tax break was a far thought in your mind as you felt your grip at the edge of his desk tighten, your nails dragging across the laminate.
Spencer sighed, his heart racing as he ran his hands through his hair, tugging a bit at the roots. You began to swing your feet, pulling his attention back to you once more.
How was he supposed to say yes? How was he meant to tell you just how badly he wanted to actually marry you, to wake up with you every single day for the rest of his life?
He was holding out hope, he still is; one day, you'll admit it, that you're so madly in love with Charles Spencer Agnew. It'll happen, he's just gotta hope.
"Yeah, fuck it, let's do it."
A grin quickly spread across his face as he nodded. You quickly jumped to your feet, tackling him into a hug as he pressed his lips to the top of your head, a grin on his face, too.
"Marry me, idiot" Spencer chuckled, squeezing you tighter.
"I will, Spence." You looked up to him, slowly breaking your embrace, his eyes scanning your face with a soft smile on his lips.
You yawned, rubbing your eyes as you leaned back into your desk chair. Maybe those blue light glasses would be wortha shot because, fuck, did your eyes hurt. Staring at a screen with the same audio clips on loops, the same frames all day long should be a special form of torture.
You heart aches as you glance to your left, the blank monitor and empty chair cause your poor mood.
You had to thank Spencer later, his absence allowing your mind to wander into thoughts of your empty stomach and quest for food. You stretch a bit as you move from your seat, slowly making your way toward the office kitchen. It wasn't uncommon to see Garrett in the shared space.
He grinned as soon as you entered the kitchen, spotting you through the window, causing your smile to drop. He was making what seemed like a normal sandwich, but with Garrett there was no telling what he'd done to it by now.
"I'm not tasting whatever you're making, Garrett." You held your palm up as you maneuver around him, moving to search the fridge for any of Spencer's leftovers or a freebie up for grabs.
"No, it's about a games video, don't worry." Garret laughed as he continued to prepare what you could only hope was his own lunch. You grinned, spotting Spencer's Panda Express lo mein from the day before, your fingers wrapping around the box. He's used to Kiana or you stealing his food, he wouldn't mind.
"I'll hear you out." You nodded toward the tables just outside the kitchen as you grab a fork, leaving the room just as quickly as you'd entered it.
You took up a spot at a small table in the corner, kicking out the chair for Garrett as he followed behind you.
The two of you ate in silence, enjoying the small moment of quiet in such a rambunctious office space.
"So, Shayne and Spencer wrapped on their game earlier than we expected, so would you be able to shoot a video today?" He questioned, eyes not meeting yours once as you spoke, his words purposefully vague.
You cocked a brow at him, stabbing at the noddles as you thought over your day. It wouldn't take you too long to finish up the Pit video you were working on, and it didn't need to be up for another week. You just liked to be head of schedule.
"Sure, Garrett, I'm gonna assume you don't want to tell me what the video is going to be and will accept whatever fate awaits me." You nodded curtly, pulling a laugh from the man before you.
You finished up your food, the both of you entering the Games' shooting room to find Spencer glued to the screen, the mouse moving and clicking constantly.
He grinned as he peaked over the screen, his eyes immediately finding yours.
"Oh good, now you can come be lonely with me." He laughed as you slid into the chair beside him, your eyes rolling.
"Wow, Sims 4, Spencer? Are you ill?" You chuckled, pressing the back of your hand to his forehead.
"There was a wedding expansion pack recently and thought it'd be fun to have our wedding in the Sims first." He explained as he clicked arounda bit.
"Look!" He grinned as he pointed at the screen, eagerly awaiting your approval as you grinned. Spencer had created a Sims version of the both of you, quickly sliding the keyboard and mouse toward you.
"Okay, plan your wedding outfit. Whatever you want to wear, babe." He pressed his lips to your warm cheek, your lip tugged between your lip as you tried to conceal your grin.
You picked your outfit, deciding on a simple dress and heels as the crew gave you the thumbs up, signaling the begging of recording.
"Howdy all," Spencer laughed as you groaned, looking to him with a furrowed brow. "Today, my lovely fiancee and have decided to have our Sims wedding."
You laughed, rolling your eyes as you turned toward the camera. "Obviously because The Sims is the most realistic representation of how our actual wedding would go."
"It's definitely not because I have a problem." Spencer scoffed, holding his hands up as defended himself.
The whole thing went to shit extremely quickly, but you couldn't care less. The Sims wedding was a horrific disaster, as most things with the game seem to go.
None of your guests would sit, your Sims wouldn't cut the cake, Sim Spencer peed his pants, and a fire started.
You wanted to focus, to feel more into the video but you couldn't. Spencer had decided to let you control the game, allowing him plenty of time to stare at you, lean into your side, place his hand on your thigh just out of frame.
Your heart was thumping harder against your ribcage with each flirtatious move he made. But it wasn't actually flirtatious. It was for the video, for the fake relationship you two were caught in.
Spencer was riding on a high of happiness at this point. Everytime a camera was on the two of you, he'd get to do the things he'd been dreaming of.
One day he'd get to hold you, kiss you, touc you in every way he's wanted to for years.
One day, just not today.

Three years later
The gods seemed to be smiling down on the twin green dragons, as though they knew they made the right decision. Princess Helaena shortly became Aegon II’s second wife and they were to quick to have children; twins by the name of Jaehaera and Jaehaerys who were coming close to their third name day and a babe that was only a few months old by the name of Maelor. You did feel horrible that Helaena had to marry Aegon in the end, although she reassured you it was her duty of House Targaryen and she cares more that you are happy with Aemond.
You had your hands clasped in front of you while standing in the courtyard with a small smile on your lips. Your arms cupped around your budding stomach that was barely noticeable, the only ones knowing that you were with child a second time were your mother and siblings. Your father was the only one to not know; you were waiting for the right moment but it was as though it never seemed to be the right time. Your trips to see him with Vhaenys at night even became less frequent.
You watched as Aemond tried to block Ser Criston’s strikes, only for his shield to be knocked out of his hand by Morningstar. You smirked lightly knowing he was not going to take that well. As the two of you got older, the more aggressive of a swordsman he became.
As more people gathered around to watch the young Prince, the louder the whispers became, although it was not about the Targaryen prince. Rhaenyra and her family were to arrive today for the trial of her second eldest son’s parentage and claim to the throne on Driftmark. Everyone knew the truth and that was that Lucerys along with Jacaerys and Joffrey were bastards.
You were snapped out of your thoughts when Aemond got the upper hand and a wide smile came onto your lips. You giggled while clapping for him, everyone cheering.
Criston laughed a bit, the sweat beading down his forehead. “Well done, my prince,” He said, still catching his breath a bit. “You will be winning tourneys in no time.”
“I don’t give a shit about tourneys,” Aemond began, turning his gaze ahead of him. “Nephews…have you come to train?”
You turned to look at his direction, noticing Jace and Luke. You frowned a bit while looking over them. Lucerys looked nervous, terrified even meanwhile his elder brother had a look of anger and disgust.
You walked closer to Aemond with a small smile and kissed his cheek lightly, his gaze turning to you. “Well done, my husband,” You whispered while placing a hand on his arm, your violet eyes wandering back to your nephews.
“Thank you, love,” Aemond replied and turned to get his shield back.
You sighed and looked down at your hands, glancing back up to your nephews. In the nine years that you have not seen them, you have learned forgiveness. You knew though your husband has not been the same way.
Everyone’s attention turned to the gates when it opened, Lord Vaemond walking through with a handful of guards. He had a smug look on his features as he passed by the group, his eyes on Lucerys.
“Aemond, we should go,” You spoke softly grabbing onto his arm once more.
“Why? I want to catch up with my sweet nephews,” Aemond said with a taunting tone to his voice.
“Aemond,” You scowled, your voice firm.
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
“Why do you defend them?”
“What?” You asked laughing a bit.
“Those bastards,” Aemond clarified watching you grab a shawl to drape over yourself. Your stomach may have been small, but the wrong person could notice and gossip would surely spread. “You were quick to go to their side.”
“Aemond,” You said with a sigh and walked close to your husband. You held onto his arm lightly and smiled when he looked at you. “You are being paranoid. I am always going to side with my husband.”
Aemond looked over you and let out a sigh. “I know you would choose me over them. I do not need to be paranoid.”
You giggled as he began to lead you to the throne room. “I would always choose you, my love.”
You stood on one side of the throne room, your eyes settled on the Blacks who was not too far away. Due to your father’s health, your grandsire was in charge of the trial. You knew it would give Rhaenyra and her son an unfair advantage although you dared not say it out loud.
You glanced towards Aegon who stood on the other side of Aemond. You knew he was still hurt from your choice to annul the marriage and he has hardly acknowledged your existence since. It was clear how unhappy he was with his marriage to your elder sister though, yet you were relieved to finally be with the love of your life.
You wrapped the golden shawl tight around your body as Rhaenyra took the stand although she was interrupted when the doors opened. All heads turned as the King was announced, a small smile coming onto your lips. Even though he was so frail, it was relieving to see him.
It was hard to see him struggle towards the Iron Throne, although everyone respected his wish to let him climb the steps on his own. You kept a hand lightly on Aemond’s arm while your father’s brother helped him up the last few steps and onto the throne, your eyes wandering down as you lightly felt the leather of your husband’s jacket.
You took a deep breath as the court commenced, your eyes flickering up to Lord Vaemond while the Princess Rhaenys made a marriage pact. He clearly did not look pleased, protesting that he would not allow such actions.
“Say it,” You heard your uncle challenge Vaemond.
Vaemond had a smirk on his lips, his eyes connecting with Rhaenyra’s. “Her children…are bastards!” He shouted, his voice booming through the throne room. “And she…is a whore,” He spat, the venom clear in his voice.
You glanced over to your father as he brandished his knife. “I will have your tongue for that,” He threatened.
You closed your eyes remembering the threat your father made all those years ago. One would have their tongue cut out if they questioned the parentage of Rhaenyra’s three eldest sons.
You opened your eyes, gasping as Daemon suddenly sliced Vaemond’s head in two, his body collapsing to the ground, blood everywhere.
“He can keep his tongue,” Daemon said, leaning against his sword- Dark Sister- while looking up at his brother.
You looked up at your husband, a small frown on your lips as you squeezed his arm tightly while your mother quickly ushered you and your siblings out.
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
You stood beside Helaena while everyone waited for the King, your father having wanted a dinner with his entire family again.
“Are you excited to be a mother again?” She whispered out, placing a hand on your stomach.
You giggled lightly with a soft smile and nodded. “Yes, I am and I know Aemond is too.”
“I can not wait to have another,” Helaena said a bit dreamily.
You smiled lovingly at your sister, knowing she was not happy with Aegon but she at least had her children. You glanced over when the doors opened and took your seat beside your husband.
You looked over at Aemond noticing his eye was set across the table, looking over at Lucerys and Rhaena; Luke was looking a bit worrisome but you knew Aemond was smart enough to not try anything at dinner. Not while your father was there at least.
You sighed as you took a sip of your wine after your prayer to the seven. You knew your mother was still not happy with what you said three years ago, yet you ended up getting what you wanted.
You smiled as the feast commenced after a heartfelt speech from Viserys. You knew the one thing that mattered most to him was family and it meant a lot for everyone to, at least pretend, to be cordial.
You stared at your husband when he stood up, his chair scraping across the floor. You held his hand to urge him back down and he only sat back down after Jace made a toast to him and Aegon. Aemond looked over at you, a glare settled on his face.
He jerked his hand away from yours, narrowing his eye a bit. You shook your head while frowning, looking down at your wine cup, taking a long drink of it. You were loyal to your husband, yet he needed to learn not when to act like a child.
You relaxed in your seat, frowning more when your father was carried out and sighed. You were about to stand up and announce you were retiring early, feeling a bit ill but quickly shut your mouth when the kitchen maids came in with a roasted pig. You stared at it while they sat in front of your husband, closing your eyes when you heard Luke laugh. You were not there for the pink dread prank but Aemond did complain about how embarrassed he was, his sole blame being on the bastards.
You jumped when Aemond suddenly punched the table and stood up with his cup raised. “Final tribute,” He declared. “To the health of my nephews: Jace, Luke, and Joffrey. Each of them handsome, wise…hm…strong.”
“Aemond,” Your mother warned as you stood up.
A frown settled on your lips as he continued on; “Come…let us drain our cups to these three strong boys.”
“I dare you to say it again,” Jace said boldly, Aemond’s attention turning towards him with his cup still in his hand.
“Why? Twas only a compliment. Do you not think yourself strong?”
Aemond chuckled as Jace suddenly punched him, Luke trying to help but Aegon pinned him to the table. Your husband only laughed, proud of his comment as he set his goblet down while your mother rushed over.
“Why would you say something like that in before all of these people?” She hissed.
“I was merely expressing how proud I was of my family, Mother,” Aemond began removing his arm from her grasp turning to Jace and Luke who were being held by the kingsguard. “Mm, though it seems as though my nephews aren’t quite as proud of theirs.”
“Do not act like a child,” You hissed at your husband who turned his attention to you, shocked. You sighed at him before following your nephews out. “Jace,” You called softly. “Luke.”
The two turned and frowned at the sight of you. “Did you need something, aunt?” Jace asked softly.
You sighed softly, looking down at your hands with furrowed brows. “I want to apologize for Aemond’s antics.”
Jace shook his head a bit. “You should not be the one apologizing.”
“Yes, but he is still my husband.”
Jace gave you a small smile. “It is quite all right, really.”
You took a deep breath watching them begin to walk off once more. “Wait,” You called walking closer to the two of them. You frowned looking between the two boys, both spitting images of Ser Harwin Strong. “I forgive the two of you.”
“For what?” Luke asked, frowning.
“For what happened all those years ago…both sides were in the wrong and I believe now may be the only chance I can say my peace.”
Jace smiled lightly, taking your hands in his. “All is forgiven, aunt,” He said quietly and leaned up kissing your cheek lightly.
You returned his smiled, looking over at Luke although his gaze was elsewhere. You followed his gaze and frowned at the sight of Aemond who was clearly angry. You quickly left to be at your husband’s side, Aemond glaring down at you.
“We will discuss this matter on the morrow,” He hissed out, grabbing you roughly by the arm to lead you to your marital chambers.
You sighed while looking down with a frown, staying silent. You had a pit feeling in your stomach, not knowing what the morrow is going to bring.

Chapter Two: Tire Swing —✧
Series masterlist
Chapter Warnings: Cursing, mentions of abortion, mentions of sex
Author's Note: New updates coming soon! This one's sort of short but kit just fit that way. Also, if you notice each chapter is named after a song from the movie, if you wanna listen during reading...enjoy!
—✧
SCHOOL WAS THE LAST PLACE I WANTED TO BE RIGHT NOW. Surrounded by people who I hated, who hated me. No one knew besides Kenny and Kyle, but somehow it felt like everyone was staring at me. Like everyone did actually know. I hated it. As if the perfect way to pull me out of my hatred, a was roughly knocked into by one of my fellow peers, watching as he let my book tumble to the ground, and break. Fantastic.
“Your book fell apart.” He teased, laughing as he and his friends walked away. I nodded, bending down to pick up my book, glaring at his chuckling face.“It must have looked at your face.” He said again, making his friends laugh even harder.
The funny thing is that Steve Rendazo secretly wants me. Jocks like him always want freaky girls. Girls with horn-rimmed glasses and vegan footwear and goth makeup. Girls who, like, play the cello and read McSweeney's…And wanna be children's librarians when they grow up. Oh, yeah, jocks totally eat that shit up. They won't admit it because they're supposed to be into cheerleaders. Like Wendy, who incidentally is into emo losers like my brother.
“All right, people. We're doing a chromatography lab today. So find your partners and break into groups of four.” Our science teacher announced, making me smile over at Kyle as he smiled nervously back. I couldn't tell if the nervous smile was due to my visit the other day or if it was just his normal awkward teenage boy smile, but he seemed a tad more nervous than usual. We moved to get with our lab groups, me and Kyle standing beside each other opposite Clyde and Bebe, our usual lab partners.
Beside my boys, I had always been rather close with the girls as well. Bebe included, which was what drew us to group together in the lab. I loved Bebe, and I loved Clyde just as much, but it was easy to say work was rather difficult to complete with the two lovebirds. And bless his poor little soul, but I have absolutely no idea how Clyde managed to get into this class in the first place. I'm almost positive he cheated on Kyle's placement test.
“Well, there's nothing like experimenting.” I said, extra cheerily making Kyle chuckle nervously, before handing me his notebook.
“I did the prep questions for this lab, so you can copy my answers…” He said, making me pout at him.
“Oh, I couldn't copy your work.” I said, smiling at him as he turned to me with furrowed eyebrows.
“You copy my work every week.”
“True.” I sighed, taking his notebook. “I'm kind of a deadbeat lab partner.” He pouted back at me, reciprocating the look I gave him earlier.
“I think you definitely bring something to the table.” He reassured me, picking up the small round paper for us to begin our lab.
“Charisma.” I said, both Kyle and I nodding with agreement, before I turned to the other two, clapping my hands with even more fake cheer than before. “So who's ready for some chromomagnificence?” I asked, and Bebe sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose and looking down at the ground.
“I have a menstrual migraine, so I can't look at bright lights.” Bebe said, rubbing her temples lightly. Clyde sighed, looking up at the ceiling with evident annoyance.
“Bebe, I told you to go to the infirmary and lie down. You never listen to me.” Clyde whined, making Bebe scoff, rage suddenly forming in her face as she turned to Clyde.
“No, Clyde, because I don't take orders. Not from you and not from any man.” Bebe hissed, glaring at Clyde, cousin the boy to shrink down slightly, looking at the other side of the room to avoid her eyes. Like I said, work was very difficult.
“You've been acting like this since I got back from my cousin's in Boulder. I told you, nothing happened.” Clyde groaned, and Kyle looked between the two nervously, before looking back at me.
“I'm gonna set up the apparatus. Juno, do you wanna plug in the Bunsen burner?” Kyle said, carefully placing my safety goggles on my face, leaving a red tint where his fingers gently brushed my skin. He didn't think anything of it, I'm sure he didn't…but I did.
“My pleasure.” I smiled, snapping myself out of my gaze, about the turn on the bunsen burner before Bebe spoke up again.
“I'm going to the infirmary.” She slowly stood, smiling softly at me about to walk away.
“Call when you get off the rag.” Clyde grumbled, making Bebe snap and turn to him angrily. I turned the bunsen burner on, and it was as if the fire on our table raged inside Bebe as well.
“Fine!” She shouted, her blonde curls whipping around to her back. “Call when you learn to love instead of cheating at your cousin's, and cry about it...Because you had four Smirnoff Ices and Snow Peak Peach Boones!” She quickly walked away before Clyde could anger her further, as both Kyle and I looked at Clyde awkwardly.
“I've actually heard that the Snow Peak Peach flavor...Is the best flavor of Boone's. Isn't that right, Ky?” I said softly, elbowing Kyle to catch his attention and save me from the awkwardness I ultimately walked right into. Kyle just looked at Clyde and nodded, before we all gulped silently in the awkward silence, finishing our science lab.

“Hey, yeah, I'm just calling to procure a hasty abortion.” I said into my phone, laying upside down on my bed as I struggled to hear the women on the other line. This phone call, maybe one of the most important phone calls of my life, ironically was being done over a Hamburger phone. Don't get me wrong, I loved my hamburger phone, but this is life or death we're talking about, and I mean literally death. Besides, you could barely hear anything through this phone without a proper throw against the wall first.
“What?” I shouted, the women taken-a-back, unaware of the brutality of my Burger phone.
“Can you just hold on for a second? I'm on my hamburger phone.” I chucked it against the wall, then shook vigorously, not caring about the dirty look and judgements I was most likely receiving. I was getting an abortion, this woman already knew more about me then most people.
“Okay, yeah, now I can...Yeah, it's just, like, really awkward to talk on.” I chuckled lightly, before stopping when I realized she didn't find it funny. “Yeah, yeah, I need an abortion.” God this was hell.
“I'm 16.”
There was a momentary pause on the other end, like the lady was shocked. I'm sure she got this call 10 times a day from people just as young as me, which made it even stranger that she paused. Why would she pause?
“I'm gonna say it's been about two months and four days since the sex. Mind you, that's just, like, a guesstimation. I'm sorry, how long have I been what?”
I hate it when adults use the term "sexually active." What does it even mean? Can I deactivate someday, or is this some sort of permanent state of being? Is it like a super power I gain or is it just another boring disadvantage in life, like getting your period of hitting puberty. I guess Kyle went live that night and that's why he got that look on his face.

“You should have seen this octopus furnace at work. I had to get on my HAZMAT suit just to get into the thing.” My dad explained, the family sitting together for dinner, not entirely listening to what my dad was saying. I knew it had to be some sort of bull crap because what the hell is my dad, the geologist, doing with an octopus and a hazmat suit?
My dad used to own a weed business. Though my whole family had their flaws, my dad was a special egg. Not as much the black sheep of the family, more so the multicolored glow in the dark sheep who performs at the strip club on weekends. Not that he does perform at a strip club, though that wouldn't be the craziest thing he's done. After we nearly lost our minds during the pandemic, and I nearly lost my life due to my father’s weed business (story is later to come), I think something must have clicked in his head that he could miss this. This domestic life he always yearned for when he was growing up. I don't think he ever really knew it was there til it was almost gone.
Moving back to our old home made for many more family dinner’s. Forcing me and stan to the dinner table all year long, and earning the occasional call from my older sister Shelley. She checked in quite often to make sure I was still alive having dealt with Dad and Stan, though I was always okay. Now we live the most normal family life we can, and my dad got his job back as a Geologist, and even still writes for songs under his LORDE alias, though Stan and I like to pretend that part isn't true.
It was really good for my mom though, to have her family back the way it should be. Sharon Marsh was the best mother a kid could ask for, and never failed to keep dad in line when needed. My dad going clean did good on fixing their marriage as well, bringing back a lot of care and love they didn't even realize was still there. She still work’s at the reception desk at Tom’ Rhinoplasty, business booming a much as ever these days…figures.
“So, Juno, how was your little maneuver the other night?” My mom asked, smiling over at me kindly. I puffed up slightly with pride, wiggling my eyebrows at her.
“The one where I moved an entire living-room set from one lawn to the other… Or the one where I downed a 64-ounce blue slushie in 10 minutes?” I said, shoving some more food down my face as my dad looked at me confused.
“Juno, did you by any chance barf in my urn? You know that nice urn by the door? The one I got up in Denver? There was some blue shit…” my dad looked over at my mom’s testing look, before clearing his throat and correcting himself. “I mean gunk... stuff in there this morning.” My dad rambled, referring to the urn that no one knew nor cared about. It was an ugly piece of crap that my dad claimed was ‘a cultural must have’ and that we would be wrong not to show it off. It was stupid, and ugly, and yes I did barf up almost all 64 ounces of that slushie in it.
“I would never barf in your urn, Dad.” I said, holding my chest with fake hurt, earning a smile from my dad. I had that poor man wrapped around my little finger for as long as I could remember. “I mean, maybe Stan did it.” I said, shrugging in Stan’s direction. My older counterpart glared up at me.
“Bite me sewer rat.” He said, making me look at him with fake hurt, neither of us being able to hold back the slight laughter that evaded our faces.
“Stanley! Don’t talk to your sister like that.” My mom said, making Stan scoff and roll his eyes. I nodded with agreement.
“Yeah Stanley, be nice.” I teased back, flinging a few peas at my brother, causing his to look up at me with a smirk, about to fling some right back at me.
—✧
I left early the next morning for Women now. I was scared, really, really scared. I had written paperwork printed out in my bedroom, that I had made 4 copies of after having messed up 3 times. The crumbled papers laid on my bed, while the other was folded neatly in my bag. I just wanted this to be done. I wanted to do it and I wanted it to be done and dealt with. But God, I was such a fucking idiot.
“Juno?” My brother called, knocking on my door to call me to come hang out with him and the guys. “Hey, June the guys are coming over, make sure you have some damn pants on this time for the..” he paused when he opened the door, noticing my absence in the room. He furrowed his eyebrows, knowing it was a Friday and we had off from school today, I should’ve been here.
He walked deeper into my room, softly calling my name again in case I was hiding in my closet or something, and that’s when he noticed the papers. He rolled his eyes at my mess, about to pick them up and throw them out before a certain word caught his eye.
“Abortion? Why the fuck…” he mumbled, unscrambling the paper as he read it. His hands seemed to go limp, and his heart beat increased. His throat went dry, and he stared at the paper with a colorless face.
‘Women Now Abortion Clinic’
His eyes scanned down further to the bottom.
‘By my signature I agree to and have read all of the conditions that come with the women now abortion procedure… Juno Sloane Marsh”

Dazed and Amused- TADC fic- Teaser
It was a typical day in the Digital Circus.
Everyone had just gotten finished unclogging the pipe maze of an infestation of surprisingly aggressive gummy worms. A fantastic adventure that was clearly just Caine giving them busy work that he didn’t want to do himself.
“Excellent job in snaking those drains! And in record time too! You should allll be proud of yourselves. Look at Bubble, he’s thrilled! He’s so happy! He’s… Bubble, goodness me, STOP. Whatever you’re doing, please!"
Bubble turned to face a cringing Caine with a mouth overflowing in half-chewed gummy worms. Them slowly sliding out of his mouth as he replied.
“Sowwy boss.”
“Ahem, in any case…” Caine turned back to the others with a little spin of his cane. “I think you all deserve a just reward and a day out, soooo… We’re going to the DIGITAL CARNIVAL!”
There were some mixed reactions amongst the group, but one was very vocal.
“Really?! Hurray!” Gangle cheered, clapping her ribbons. Her comedy mask still stuck firmly to her face. It was a wonder with how lost she had gotten during their excursion.
As a matter of fact, it was the longest Gangle had gone in a while without breaking that mask. So, instead of her typically sulking self, she was overflowing with excitement, bouncing in place.
And it was all because Jax too had gotten lost in that stupid maze. He gave the masked tangle of ribbons a slightly irritated look.
“Ugh,” he groaned in exaggeration.
He made a show of it but, much to his continued displeasure, Gangle took absolutely no notice of it. Someone else did though, the ragdoll standing directly to his right who quickly chimed in.
“Well, you’re the one who’s always claiming that everyone’s too gloomy. You should be happy she’s happy,” Ragatha whispered to him.
“I said she was being a drag. I didn’t say I wanted her to become annoying,” Jax clarified.
Ragatha rolled her eyes from him to Pomni. Giving her a ‘are you hearing this?’ sort of look.
Pomni looked back with a visibly uneasy look replacing her tired one from a few moments ago. That was right, Ragatha realized. Pomni hadn’t gotten a chance to go to the Digital Carnival, and she could only be wary at Caine’s enthusiasm.
“Don’t worry, Pomni. This is going to be fun! The Digital Carnival is great, really,” Ragatha assured.
Before Pomni could even reply, Caine literally inserted himself into the conversation by popping up in between them. It made Pomni jump and even Ragatha took a partial step back in surprise.
“And now it is even better!” he proclaimed. “I have updated it with more rides, more attractions, more prizes, and plenty more bug fixes!”
“Bugs?” Kinger snapped his head over with a confused blink.
“Oh yes! The, erm, minor issues from last time are a thing of the past! For example, the roller coaster- the cars no longer fly off the track!”
“Aww, but Caine, that was the best part! Coming down at breakneck speeds and then fl-ying off at the turn and breaking our necks,” Jax mockingly complained.
“I’m sorry, Jax. I know you like the thrills, but safety is this park’s number one concern!” Caine insisted, Jax’s shtick flying right over his head. Caine then leaned in and whispered behind his hand- loudly, mind you- “We also have a tunnel of looove~.” He winked.
“Oh that’s…” Ragatha said back with an awkward smile. She stole a look to Jax and saw the absolute look of offense and disbelief that was now on his face. She squeezed her hands together. “That’s great.”
Jax looked at her with just straight-up disbelief now.
“It is! Especially for any love birds tweeting about,” Caine hinted. If that wasn’t obvious enough, he then nudged Pomni repeatedly until he was sure she got it too.
Ragatha only kept smiling to cover her embarrassment.
“I think you’re tweeting outta your- Wait, if we’re going… Shotgun!” Jax suddenly cried. He thrust an arm up in the air as his face broke into an eager smile.
Ragatha pursed her lips as she realized what she had inadvertently let happen again.
“Why, you eager beaver you! Of course you can drive, Jax! I appreciate the initiative,” Caine complemented.
The others weren’t nearly as thrilled. Gangle was making sure to hold her mask on, Kinger got a downright dazed look, and Zooble gave a loud groan.
“God, Jax, didn’t feel like giving anyone else a chance?” Zooble asked.
“Nope! You snooze you lose, Picasso,” Jax said, strutting by.
“What just happened?” Pomni asked for clarification.
“Jax is driving again,” Ragatha sighed. She rubbed her arm. “He’s… a little bit of a leadfoot.”
“…Wait, we have a car?!”
Ragatha laughed a little. “You could call it that… but I wouldn’t.”
“…That doesn’t bode well!” Pomni said with a tense smile.

Victory tour of the 66th hunger games
Now 14, almost 15 Persephone sits on the train on the way to district one for the start of her victory tour.
The tension ever since she got back has been strong with everyone, she's been more comfortable with mags but other than that it's been off. Not like she was doing anything, in fact she would consider herself thriving, god knows what the others thought though.
Walking out of the room part of the train she sees finnick sitting on one the couches in the main area staring at the scenery before them
"Hey fish sticks" Persephone says breaking him out of his trance by sitting next to him
Jumping slightly he looks over at who was sitting next to him before relaxing again
"Fish sticks?"
He replied
"Yeah? I felt like getting creative, I kinda was kinda gagged by my own thoughts" the newly victor replies
"Gagged?" Finnick asks once again
"God do you only ask questions" Persephone replies slightly annoyed
Giving her an annoyed look he returns his gaze back to the window in front of them
With a moment of silence he breaks it by asking her another question
"How did you do it" he exhales  before starting again "I mean I saw you in training, you never once hit a target, your score was a three, I mean the way you killed them wasn't out of defense, it looked like you have been doing this your whole life an- and the way you acted before.." finnick says with a worried tone not so much scared as she thought it was gonna be
"Jesus I know I blonde but I'm not a fucking idiot"
Persephone replies
"It was easier than I thought, like I don't know? My grandma would train me every day until the day she died because she knew there was no escaping the reaping, and given the fact that my family never cared enough for my survival someone had to" she finishes with no self pity in her tone
Their conversation was cut short by the screeching of the trains breaks
"Alright, Persephone this is it! Make sure to keep a smile on your face and chin up shoulders back!" Anya tells her before dragging her up from her seat taking her to the train doors
"Chin up!" Anya tells her once again putting her fingers under her chin pushing it up
Anya was the only one who treated Persephone no different regardless of the way she acted, scolding her in motherly ways, treating her like a daughter. Even though she said she felt comfortable around mags it's probably because the woman didn't even speak
Doors opening shes met with citizens of district one screaming her name trying to push their way through the peacekeepers
Making her way to the Justice building she looks out the window and sees everyone from one sitting down waiting for her to come out
Anya hands her a stack of flash cards which she guesses is her script.
Scanning over it she looks back up at Anya and finnick
"Im suppose to praise the tributes?" She says almost like she didn't believe what she just read
"Yep!" Her and finnick say at the same time but in very different tones
"I literally gutted both of them from the inside out." Persephone says "not to mention they were really fucking annoying"
"Oh- well- um?" Anya stutters out but is cut off by finnick
"It's time to go out now, follow the cards." He says sternly
Persephone gives a sarcastic smile before walking out to the stage
Met by loud clapping and some cheers here and there she steps up to the microphone.
She begins the speech but is interrupted by yelling
"That slut isn't sorry for anything! She doesn't care she killed son!" Someone says who she assumes is the family of one of the tributes
Followed by other people shouting derogatory comments at her. Jaw clenching she drops the cards from her hand
"One job, she has one job" Anya says behind the doors to herself
"What do you want me to say? I'm sorry for killing your annoying fucking children? Maybe don't be so cocky, I mean-" she cuts herself off by a laugh
"He got killed by a child! I gutted that bitch from the inside out-" she's quickly stopped by finnick and Anya running through the doors grabbing Persephone and dragging her into the room
"Are you out of your mind?!" Finnick yells at her
"Okay first of all don't yell at me, and second of all what was I supposed to do?" The girl says
Sighing finnick rubs his fingers in his temples getting a headache by the continued yelling from the next room over.
"I'm sorry- just please stick to the cards" he says in a defeated tone giving her a pleading look
The rest of the tour went by in a blur and now she finds herself in a dress walking up to the steps of the capitol party that was thrown for her. Her outfit consisted of a satin cream colored flowy dress with designs of dainty flowers colored with light pinks and sea greens along with sunset oranges, she wore her hair blown out with a lace bow in it and dark brown heeled boots. Not much for a capitol party but she loved it
(it's on my Pinterest board called birds of a feather the user is coachella_woodstockinmymind)
Finnick was to the right of her and Anya to the left
"Alright, remember be respectful, smile, interact and most importantly-"
"Chin up shoulders back- yeah yeah I know" Persephone cuts off her escort in a monotone voice
Finnick leaves her side quickly after finding one of the other victors from past games leaving her to fend for herself
Asshole
Surprisingly Persephone quickly finds her way around the area even finding it in her to converse with some of the others. She actually found herself having fun for the first time in a while but that ended shortly when a man started talking to her. Now don't get her wrong she loves herself a good man but definitely not the one that's in front of her
She's staring at her glass of water as the man talks her ear off about god knows what, it's very clear he's from the capitol with makes him ten times more insufferable than he already was. Her attention is quickly taken by the sounds of loud laughter coming a few feet away from her, turning her head she sees finnick with another woman who's stroking his arm rather seductively as he gives her his "charming smile" tensing at the sight she feels her heart speed up but not in a good way. She can't figure out why though.
Looking back at the man in front of her to take her mind off of what she just saw she lazily engages in the conversation replying to him every now and then.
Taking a gulp of her water as her throat was rather dry from her nerves she's hit with a wave of dizziness, all the colors start merging together making a sea of neons, her mind goes fuzzy as she tries to understand what the man is trying to say.
He has a sickening smile on his face as he grabs her arm leading her into the building and finding his way into what she assumes is his room.
She doesn't know how she got here standing at the top
of the cement staircase looking down at everyone dance and laugh and talk.
Her once gorgeous cream colored dress now dyed in a crimson red, her arms, face and hands are sticky with wet and dry blood, her soft blonde hair now a mixture of red a blonde stick to the sides of her face.
Making her way down the staircase heels clicking with every step sometimes leaving a bloody shoe print behind.
She doesn't feel dizzy anymore, her muscles feel tingly, she has unnatural feel of happiness. No one has yet to notice her. She doesn't know where finnick or Anya are and she doesn't care.
A new song on the speakers starts playing, feeling the music run through her eardrums, flow through her body.
Making her way to the colored floor she lets the music run through her.
With every twirl her dress flows around her, every move of her arms she can't find it in her to worry about anything around her, not the body that lies in one of the rooms of the capital, not the stares she's now getting, nothing.
"Persephone!" She can hear someone call her name but she doesn't bother to look at who's calling her, her body being controlled by the music flowing through her ears, flowing through her head.
"PERSEPHONE" she feels a familiar hand grab her arm turning her towards them.
Looking up she sees the wide worried eyes of finnick.
She can see his mouth moving at a rapid pace but all she can do is smile.
She feels the embrace of his body as he wraps his arms around her in a protective manner and then she feels the hand of Anya on her back rushing her to the exit.
And then everything went dark.
𝑫𝑨𝑹𝑲 𝑩𝑼𝑻 𝑱𝑼𝑺𝑻 𝑨 𝑮𝑨𝑴𝑬 𝑷𝑨𝑹𝑻 𝑰
Not long after the incident at her victory tour Persephone  found the comfort in different substances wether it was pills, powder, liquids that she injected into her veins, it didn't matter, she was happy.
She didn't look like a drug addict on the outside. That's one thing she made sure of, if there was going to be something she cared about it was going to be the way she looked.
(For the sake of the story we are going to pretend glimmer was from district four)
Years passed and she's laid off the drugs, not completely but she wasn't doing them hardcore like she was. She stopped talking to finnick, or was it the other way around? Persephone doesn't even remember, she still finds herself missing his touch, missing his words and the way he spoke to her but if he didn't care neither did she. But she did.
Making her way to the Justice building for the reaping of the 74th games she had to mentor for this year.
Arriving at the building a little over an hour than when everyone else was supposed to be there, she sits on the floor of the stage lighting a cigarette she found loose in the depths of her purse. The only thing she has been doing these past years was writing. Wether it was songs or poems she was never seen without her notebook in her hand.
Thirty minutes go by and she soon gets bored especially after her cigarette went out, closing her notebook she begins digging in the pockets of her purse hoping to find a loose pill to get her through the reaping.
After digging for a minute she feels a little circular loose pill in one of the pockets. Mystery pills at its finest. Placing it on her notebook she crushes it with the back of one of her rings and going in to snort it
"What are you doing." A voice behind her asks the rhetorical question
Whipping her head around she sees finnick standing in the doorway with his arms crossed giving her a look as if he's waiting for her to answer him
"Um- praying?" She replies questioning her own sanity
Wiping the residue off of her nose she stands up walking over to him
"What about you fish sticks, why are you here so early" Persephone asks trying to change the topic
"How long"
"What?"
"How long have you been putting that shit in your body" he asks gesturing his hand to where she was sitting
"Hmmmm" she hums tapping her finger on her chin pretending to think, pursing her lips when she can't think of anything to say back
The conversation is cut short by Anya entering the room
"Hello lovely's!" She says oblivious to whatever is going on
"If you don't mind I'm going to steal Persephone from you" Anya says looking at finnick
"Nope not at all." He replies glaring at her as he walks away
As soon as Anya and Persephone enter another room she embraces the young girl in a secure hug. Which tells her that she knew what happened
"What did I do wrong, why did he stop talking to me?" The young victor says just above a whisper
While Persephone can seem like a cold hearted bitch, she gets attached quickly.
She fell in love with every guy she ever dated, wether they were smart, dumb, nice, cruel, it didn't matter.
It might have been because the only person who cared about her when she was younger was her grandmother but now she's dead so..
"The best ones lost their mind" Persephone quietly says
"So I'm not gonna change, I'll stay the same" she finishes looking up at Anya
Anya looks at her with soft eyes before embracing her again resting her head on Persephone's head
"If could take your pain and suffering away I would. But that's not how the world works unfortunately, I think the best thing you could do is talk to him, not talk about the problems but talk to him about anything try to get comfortable" Anya mutters into the girls head.
The reaping began and her, finnick and Anya walked out onto the stage.
She felt her body calm as her nerves began to settle
"Hello, hello! Happy hunger games and may the odds be ever in your favor!"
Just like every other year she tunes out the historical movie on the games and begun looking around at everyone that was sitting before her.
Making eye contact with a younger girl with blonde wavy hair, shorter than persephones.
The girl gives Persephone a smile before returning her attention back to the screen
Furrowing her brows she looks over at finnick to see him already looking at her. Giving him a smile, he returns it before quickly looking away.
Persephone zones out until Anya starts getting ready to name the tributes.
"Our female tribute representing district four is.." she says as she digs her hand through the large bowl full with names
"Glimmer Belcourt!" The girl who Persephone realized was the girl she made eye contact with walks up to the stage
"And now on the the male tribute...."
"Cameron Dyer!" A curly haired lanky boy walks onto the stage with a terrified look on his face as his family yells for him in the background
"Ladies and gentlemen these are your 74th hunger games district four tributes! You may shake hands."
Finnick, now standing next to her he gives her a knowing look after seeing the boy who just got reaped
"Huh, dyer, kinda an ironic name" Persephone mutters to herself not meaning for finnick to hear but she realized he did when he stifles a laugh making her smile to herself.
Making their way to the capital she can't tell if she hates glimmer or not. The boy on the other hand is a lost cause he hasn't spoken a word and his fists have been clenched, she can tell he isn't pulling a Persephone levito because she obviously invented it therefore she knows who's playing it.
Glimmer talks the mentors ears off and Persephone learned to tolerate her even coming as far to be good acquaintances but not changing the fact that she wants to punch her in the face. Persephone, glimmer and finnick all make conversation throughout the train ride, not so much Persephone and finnick but at least they are talking more and she would take that over not talking at all.
Every now and then she would try to get Cameron to talk to them but he wouldn't, he would just shake his head which made her roll her eyes at the boy.
Near the end of the train ride Persephone and Anya are gossiping about the recent dramas in the capitol before they arrive at the large building.
Anya gives them the same instructions as she gave Persephone years ago. Chin up, shoulders back.
Stepping outside they are all met by the flashing on lights and names being called left and right.
Glimmer is waving and smiling, playing the game perfectly and Cameron on the other hand..
The parade went by in a blur, a few sleeping pills later Persephone found herself knocked out cold on the couch of the capitol apartment where the mentors stay.
After having a talk with Anya about the parade finnick walks into the apartment that him and Persephone shared, finding her dead asleep on the couch with her arm and leg hanging off the couch.
Walking up to her he finds a bottle of prescription pills and a glass of what he assumes to be alcohol.
Rubbing his hands on his face sighing he looks at her taking in all her face features under the moonlight.
All he wants to know is why. Why she turned to drugs and why can't he bring himself to give into her pleads for him to stop ignoring her.
Picking her up bridal style, he takes her to her room placing her on the bed and takes her shoes off before laying the blanket on top of her and walking out closing the door behind him.
Authors note: I have never been so consistent with a book ever omfg anyway I'm gonna update the playlist so it's not just gonna be lana and so it can fit the ideas I have for future chapters!

𝐁𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 from a distance as JJ finished hanging up the Pouglandia sign that he a had made from a ratio of cloth and the char off a burnt stick but before the brunette could comment Kiara was already a step ahead cheering the blonde on with all her might
The girl took a step back bare feet sinking in the sand as she began to walk away her orange top that she had made out of one of the blondes tank tops clinging to her body like an overbearing hug leaving the pair alone
Everyone had a job to do and a partner to do it with
Everyone except Bonnie it seemed she did task plenty to keep herself busy and the pogues alive such as cooking meals, showing John B how to crack coconuts more times than she could count beyond her ten fingers, and weaving baskets to carry fish and different berries in
But what partner did she have? JJs attention was basically Kiaras and Pope had Cleo now the girl was inevitably alone
"Going somewhere?" Bonnie didn't turn her head to look at the dark skinned boy on the side of her as she hummed continuing to walk along the trails worm by their feet
"Thought you were picking berries with Cleo" Pope raised his eyebrows slightly inching up to his hairline at the girls tone he didn't think she meant it she always sounded more harsh than she intended majority of the time
"Got done early, when you weren't with JJ I came looking for you" He said in a mater of fact tone as the girl pursed her lips continuing walking her trail
"I think we should just live here, when JJ said it first I thought it was just stupid but I think I could do it with you two." Bonnie finally looked at him and she couldn't help the small smile on her face and Pope didn't miss even when she tried to shake it away
"Come on Jimmy Neutron we need to head back" The brunette sighed watching the sun begin to set on the horizon and the pair began their walk back to the beach
<><><>
"If you could do it all again what would you do different?" Sarah questioned the group sitting in a circle playing one of the games they found themselves playing often
"Get the gold out before Ward did." JJ stated
"Maybe hide the cross a little better." Pope sighed
"Not yell murderer at Ward maybe" Kie grimaced at the thought
"Not threaten to kill Rafe in front of a police station" Bonnie shrugged
"Uh, steal a couple bottles of rum before we jumped off the boat" John B finally responded
"Yea why didn't you do that actually?" JJ questioned turning around to look at the boy with a playful glare
"Maybe 'cause I was in a fight to the death?" The tan boy rolled his eyes
"I would look both ways before crossing the street" Cleo turned to look at John B pausing from sharpening her knife the group took a few more turns until the badly woven hat got placed upon Bonnie's head
"I think I'll finally go with a dare" The girl rolled her eyes as the group clapped JJ going as far as whistling at her finally abandoning the 'safe' answer as John B called it
"I dare you to go with the big jump no one's done it yet" Kiara challenged as Bonnie immediately began to shake her head at the thought as everyone began to boo at her
"Hell No absolutely not" The girl laughed shaking her to the point where she couldn't notice JJ slowly rising out his seat until he finally tackled the girl girl beginning to run off with her in his grasp as she screamed and yelled the girls began to giggle excluding Kiara as Sarah blew kisses in her direction and Cleo help up a heart made from her hand
JJ looked for a good climbing spot and found the best on the other side of the makeshift mountain finally sitting the brunette down on her feet
"JJ I'm not going up there" Bonnie stated looking how far up she would have to climb it was dumb and dangerous
"Come on princess, I'll go with you if it makes you feel better" He was cocky and no matter how much she said she hated it deep down the blonde knew she hated it a little less with him he knew her better that anyone
They knew her better than anyone.
"Come on one foot in front of the other one arm above each other" The pale boy encouraged as Bonnie began rock climbing to the top as he trailed behind her
"Shut up Maybank" The girl didn't know how many times she had rolled her eyes in a day but it had to have broken some record as the pair finally made it to the top they could hear the cheers from their friends down below
"Oh shit" The hair on her neck began to stick up from the cool breeze nipping around her body was the mountain always this far up?
"Don't get cold feet now Bon come on, if you don't hurry I'll throw you I swear" JJ was already at the tip of the platform ready to jump with no hesitation and Bonnie was in the middle of the landing with the almost ground area looking over the rocks
The girl screamed out a laugh as the blonde began to approach her with a small smile on his face
"WAIT okay, okay I'll jump. Just, just let me take off my shorts these are the only dry pair I have" The girl shot the blonde a pleasing look as he stood in his tracks waiting the pogues could be heard by both of them from down below but it began to become background noise as the brunette began to slip the brown shorts off from her waist along with the waist beads her and Sarah's had made with rope and rocks the had searched for around the island
JJ had stretched a hand out to her which she took stepping away from the pile of clothes she had left as the made their way to the tip of the peak the girl had to admit the view was beautiful
"On three" JJ began to count down their fingers still intertwined with one another as he stared at the girls smile her shoulders slightly shaking in anticipation
𝐎𝐍𝐄 He couldn't process how someone like her could even give him the time of day. How she could let him into her bubble of creativity, let him touch her upon her spirituality, she was something that he could understand unlike any subject in school or any problem through at him in life. He knew that she couldn't even begin to understand how bad he has it for her, how bad he has it for them.
𝐓𝐖𝐎 The blonde then turned to look at the dark skinned boy below them both. He was sure that he was the smartest person to walk the planet he'd be an Einstein one day going off to make the world better and giving the government a run for their money leaving him behind taking his heart with him and he'd let him take it to the ends of the earth with no fuss
𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄 It was settled how could he let someone like them go? The simple answer was that he couldn't even if we wanted it was a the stupidest mistake anyone would ever be able to make and he was sure of himself he wouldn't
𝐆𝐎 They finally jumped still hand and hand as the cold water hit their skin screaming was the first thing they heard when their head were out of the water beginning to swim to shore as the girls laugh erupted his ears as a melody
Pope was the first to reach them both engulfing the two in a hug the water transferring to his shirt off their bodies didn't seem to phase him as JJ laughed openly pushing his wet hair from his face before wrapping an arm around them both before Bonnie's did the same both arms wrapped around both boys shoulders and waist
Her boys they all thought
<><><><>
"That's what I'm talking about now freshly caught" The group sat around a fire eating fish in silence Bonnie had her head rested on Popes shoulder and her legs were over JJs lap as he rubbed his palm against her flesh leaving a trail of goosebumps as he went
The rest of the pogues couldn't help but sneak glances in awe it took long enough John B would say but the silence was enough and spoke for itself
Kiara watched them all with a sinking feeling in her stomach she wasn't chirpy about it how was she supposed to be when the boy she had feelings for found that same feeling in other people?
<><><><>
Pope could feel himself stir as he began to blink away the sleep from his eyes at the sound that evaded his ears on the usually silent island when the pogues weren't talking and the waves weren't crashing against shore he happened to look up in the sky at helicopter that flew over the ocean close to the island
"Guys wake up!" The boy was immediately up on his legs grabbing his shoes and JJs lighters that once rested in Bonnie's bag before he was off
Bonnie woke up the sight of the brown skin boy that once lied next to her running from her peripheral view was enough to get her on her feet as she quickly tapped JJs thigh before going to follow him
It didn't take long to catch up to Pope as you both ran up the hill to a pile of wood that you had made just in case as the boy cursed at the spiking lighter that wouldn't erupt in the wind until Bonnie cupped her hand around it making a small flame that was enough to light the sticks and tree branches as the pair began to yell waving their hands in the air
"𝐇𝐄𝐘, we're over here!"
"𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄 help us!"
The plane continued a it seemed no matter how much the pair screamed it was deemed useless as they both panted heavily until the plane began to turn to its side wings frozen in the air as it turned around
"Pope, Pope they see us!" The girl yelled tapping his shoulder jumping up and down until the boy picked her up his arms resting under her thighs spinning in circles as they both screamed in victory
The pogues began to run after the plane that landed in the pond as the door opened and a middle aged man long hair and a button up shirt stepped out
"Well what do we got here?" Pope ran up to John B wrapping an arm around his shoulder as both boys exclaimed in victory while Bonnie approached JJ with a bright smile that he couldn't quite mirror as she hugged his side her head resting against his bicep and just the peak of his shoulder and the blonde didn't hesitate to hold her before he handed her her bag
"You know, just some castaways." John B replied brightly
"Well I'll cross that off the grocery list, you know I got just the thing for y'all the two things you need on a deserted island first aid and rum" The man tossed both of the said items the rum landing in the pond before getting picked up by Sarah and the first aid landing in Popes hands
"So what's the story, you guys sink a boat?" He said as if it was the most reasonable thing in the world
"Jumped off one. Her dads." John b replied nodding over to where Sarah stood beside him with a skeptical look on her face
"In-laws man their tough. Well have no fear Jimmy's here I got you" The group began to laugh
"Well all hail Jimmy guys! Let's go." Cleo cheered as the group began to get on the plane the last two left were JJ and Bonnie as the two looked at each other before following their friends
"So what we're you doing all the way out here?" JJ questioned not fully sitting back in his seat Bonnie sat In between both him and Pope waiting for the man's response
"I got a little guide outfit in Saint Vincent I was spotting fish." Jimmy responded starting up the plain as the engine roared to life
"What we're you spotting?"
"Oh you know the usual Wahoo... I'd hand on to something get a little spicy on takeoff" The brunette didn't miss the look on JJs face as he squinted at the man before before clutching onto one of the handles that hung from the ceiling as the plane began to accelerate up into the air
"Wahoo don't run in September ever. So whoever this man is he's not a fisherman" The girls head snapped to look at the blonde her lips slightly parted
"Maybe the run just starts earlier out here" Pope tried to reason a small look of alert taking over his features
"Are you sure about that? In the Caribbean" JJ shot a look at the boy as Bonnie's knee began to bounce up and down a habit she had when she was trying to think or when she was anxious
"No I know what this is, he's working for my dad and he's probably been looking for us the entire time." Sarah spoke up in her seat next to Cleo all eyes shifting to her
"All right we gotta find out looking for some sort of... clues" The blonde trailed off as he looked at the bag on the back of the pilots chair as he looked at Bonnie and John B
"Hey Jimmy, how long you had this bird?" The boy questioned as JJ stretched an arm across the isle way sticking a hand in his bag
"Probably about ten years"
"How long you been flying?" Bonnie spoke up as the man shook his head with a smile that made her stomach uneasy
"I've been flying all my life"
"Uhh who's the lovely lady right there?" John B through another question back like a grenade ready to blow
"That right there? That's Cynthia" The man laughed loudly overly loud the Bonnie though his headphones probably had something to do with the fact
JJ began sprawling some of the things he got from the man's bag out on his lap as Bonnie picked up the book flipping through pages for anything useful as JJ handed Sarah a picture
"The costal venture oh my god this is the boat we were on with Eberhimi and the cross" Sarah whispered
"So he was looking for us?" Cleo questioned even though it was more than a statement as JJ agreed nodding his head
"He's working for my dad" Sarah declared before the plane began to shake as Bonnie fell into Popes side the boy wrapping his around her without missing a beat
"You guys better hold onto something we got some unexpected turbulence up here" Jimmy called back
"Guys whatever it is it's happening fast look." Kiara pointed out the window and everyone could see an island the plane began to approach
"It's Barbados. It's where I lived there before I moved with my dad to the cut" Bonnie stated as she remembered the memories she had before her dad moved them both to the obx just when she was seven on the peak of turning eight
"Okay there's seven of us, one of him. You know my vote we storm the cockpit." JJ stated the girl honestly questioned it logic majority of the time
"No who's gonna fly the plane dumbass" John B protested
"I've seen Pope fly simulators" The blonde responded and the girl pinched at his arm for putting him on the spot to which he pouted genuinely beginning to rub his arm
"I crop-dusted for my uncle last summer this is not the same thing" The brown skin boy shook his head
"We don't have time to pretend that's a real option" Kiara responded
"Do you have an idea?"
"Something safe."
"Why don't we just wait until the plane lands somewhere safe, and if someone comes to mess with us we handle it." Bonnie interrupted the banter and everyone seemed to agree
"I like the handling part" JJ responded and the girl couldn't help but roll her eyes
"Just put that back" She pointed to the stuff in his lap as John B began to stir up conversation with Jimmy again as the man turned his head catching JJ putting back one of the books he had taken back in his bag
"Hey what the hell are you doing man" He had reached back pushing JJ letting go of shift sticks to control the plane in the process as the plane began to drop
"FLY THE PLANE!"
"Please fly the plane!" Jimmy had finally took control of the stick pulling upwards with abnormal force and soon the plane finally crashed in the water beginning to sink
"We got to get out come on" The group jumped one by one until it was Bonnie and Kiara left Pope had his arms out for the girl and Bonnie reluctantly jumped out the plane into the boys arms as JJ took the girl from his grasp beginning to swim of the direction underneath the pier
"Kie went the other way!" Sarah exclaimed as they watched the girl begin to run of the shore deeper into the island men dressed in khakis and cargos chasing after
"What are we going to do we're going after her right?" John B questioned as he watched his best friend get dragged away
"What can we do?" Pope questioned
"That girl always has to play fucking hero" Bonnie panted JJ still holding her tight in his grasp
"Guys my dad didn't, didn't sell our house we can crash there until we figure something out" The girl continued beginning to shake from the cold clear water and the pogues had settled on that idea quietly swimming to another part of the shore making it to land

Recap:
As Azara approached the boys, she heard the two of them laughing and joking.
“Look who decided to grace us with her presence.” Alistair crossed his arms over his chest, raising an eyebrow, though his smile gave away his teasing.
She hummed, leaning against the stone next to the fireplace between the two boys.
“Nice of you to finally wake up, Atlas. Was worried you had overslept again.” She teased back.
Alistair's eyes widened at her, while the other boy burst into laughter and clapped her brother on the back.
“Definitely related with that sense of humor. I’m Sebastian Sallow, by the way. Welcome to Slytherin, best house if you ask me.”
“Thank you, Sebastian. I’m Azara Valentine.” She crossed her arms in front of her out of habit, eyes wandering over him.
Sebastian had deep brown eyes with some sort of golden shift in them, freckles adorning his cheeks, slightly textured curly brown hair that reached his ears, and a gently angled jawline. Very boyish, but in a more mature way. Charming.
“Not everyone has a ministry escort to school, you know.” Sebastian commented, looking her up and down in curiosity.
“He was a friend of Professor Fig’s who only joined us for the ride.” She looked away from him remorsefully, still trying to rid her mind of the images that plague it.
“Still, though- impressive. Dreadful way to go, poor fellow. Glad the two of you and Fig are alright though.” Sebastian was trying to cheer the both of you up after seeing the grim looks, and it worked for the most part.
“It was dreadful, certainly-” Alistair started.
“But quite an experience, nonetheless.” Azara finished without missing a beat.
The twins exchanged a look, chuckling as they did it like second nature.
“What an interesting perspective the two of you have. Say, how did you guys manage to escape?” Sebastians head tilted as he leaned closer out of instinct, likely without thinking about it.
Azara and Alistair exchange glances, communicating without even saying anything, both trying to figure out how much they should or could say to their new friend.
“It’s all still kind of a blur, If i’m honest.” Azara scratched the back of her neck sheepishly.
Sebastian shook his head in apology.
“I don't mean to press you, either of you. Promise. You both just get yourself settled, we can talk more later if you’d like.”
Alistair waved him off as Azara smiled.
She watched as Sebastian picked up the book he had in hand when she first walked in.
“What were you reading?” she asked softly, as if she wasn't sure if she was allowed to ask.
Sebastian turned the book over in his hand, a mischievous smile taking over his features momentarily.
“Just a spell book I picked up. It has a few interesting things, just not exactly what I was looking for. I’m sure the two of you will find out soon enough that not every spell you might need can be found in our assigned textbooks.”
This captured their attention more than before. Alistair perked up, standing straighter with the thought of learning something not in the curriculum.
“Are you saying that some spells aren't taught here?”
“And which ones?” Azara was also intrigued by the thought.
Sebastian smirked at the twins with a laugh. “Seems I may have met a couple of kindred spirits. But that is a conversation for another time. It was good meeting you, Azara, Alistair. Good luck today.”
The twins said their goodbyes before wandering around the common room together.
“I liked him. Seems like the kind of person you’d hang around, don't you think, Atlas?” Azara looked up at him for a moment before looking back around the room, eyes landing on a wizard's chess game being played back toward where Ominis still stood by the window.

˗ˏˋ Finally, becoming a student! ´ˎ˗
Kind of a short and boring chapter, slower updates for now cuz school just started a during sunday, sorry!
Tumblr media
Crowley darts his eyes left right, looking at you pouting in your seat, pushed on to it by Deuce, and the angered beast on his own seat, not making eye contact with you.
"I've been meaning to ask, but.." He sweats, "What happened between these two?"
Ace sighs, "Grim ate a rock off the floor and Y/n tried to make him throw it up." He explains nonchalantly.
Deuce shudders at the memory. "They suddenly had the strength of a hundred bears, Ace and I barely managed to pry them off Grim."
"...I see.." Crowley blinks, before relaxing in his seat. "In any case.."
Then he sobs.
The cards and the beast flinch, taken back by Crowley's sudden burst of crocodile tears.
"Oooh....Ohhh.... OOOOOHHHHH!! Sob..!!"
"WHAT'S WITH THIS GUY??" Grim questions, staring at the crying crow.
"In all these that I've been headmaster.." Crowley suddenly calms down, speaking again. "For the day to come that students of Night Raven College to hold hands and defeat a common foe!" He cheers.
"What?! I did not hold this guys hands!" Deuce shouts, disgusted.
"I would never do that either, gross!" Ace gags, before raising a brow. "Wait, how old are you, Headmaster??"
"I am overwhelmed with emotion." Crowley ignores the question, looking at you. "This incident confirms it. You are without a doubt a future beast tamer!" He exclaims, pointing at you.
"Students of Night Raven College are budding mages chosen by the Dark Mirror. But due to their excellence, many of them turn out to be prideful, egoistical, and self-centered individuals who never give a thought about cooperating with others."
"You're really not saying anything good.."
"You cannot use magic. But maybe, precisely because you cannot use magic means you could give instructions to magic users and get them to cooperate." Ouch
"Surely a mediocre, run-of-the-mill human like you is exactly what this school needs right now!" Double ouch.
"He's just insulting everyone now!" Ace widens his eyes.
"I have no doubt that your existence is essential to the future of this academy." The masked man begins again.
"So says my intuition as an educator. Along with rescinding Mr. Trappola and Mr. Spade's expulsion, I shall give you qualifcations to attend Night Raven College as a student."
"EEEHHH?!"
"Cool."
Crowley coughs into his hands, ignoring your lack of reaction. "But, there is one condition." He says.
"You can not use magic and complete all your lessons, that's where Grim comes in."
Said beast's ears perk up.
"You have proven to me that you possess enough talent to become a mage." Crowley continues. "Therefore, I shall enroll you two as one student."
Grim's blue eyes light up as he hears this, bewildered. "Fggnaa?! I can go to this school too..as a student?" He asks.
Crowley nods his head."Yes, provided that you don't let ever an incident like yesterday occur again! Do we have an agreement?"
Grim stays silent, still not believing his ears. "Fggnaa..W-we..we can.." His words don't come out.
Your eyes soften and you smile, clapping your hands lightly. "That's great, Grim!"
Grim smiles, jumping out of his seat. "Fgggnnaaa! I did!" He cheers.
Crowley then opens his drawer, taking out a shiny crystal. "Well then, I shall give the symbol of your status as a student of Night Raven College. A magic crystal." He says
"Whoa! A magic crystal?" Grim widens his eyes in surprise, staring at the gem.
"It is the norm for students to have their magic crystals in the form of a magic pen." Crowley explains.
"But, You wouldn't be able to grip it in your paws, right? It is a special custom."
Crowley begins to smile, a sign he's going to praise himself. You immediately tune out his voice.
'Oh, I wonder if Ace would like to eat dinner with us.' You think, you need him to not steal the tart if you don't want Riddle to overblot.
"I did it!" Grim brings you out of your thoughs. "I'm so cool! I got my own special magic crystal collar~"
"Listen, Y/n." Crowley calls. "As you can see, Grim is not accustomed to human society. It is up to you to make sure he doesn't cause any trouble!" He says.
Ace smirks, laying a hand on your shoulder as he chuckles. "Look at you! School's just started and you're already a prefect?"
Deuce brings his hand to his lips. "I see. There's only two of you in your dorm.." He mutters. His fist hitting his palm as he smiles. "So monitoring Grim makes you a prefect!"
"Pufft!" Ace laughs. "Isn't that unheard of? For there to be a prefect who is unable to use magic."
His gaze softens and he gives a genuine. "Nice. It's cool. A superviser who is unable to use magic!"
You smile along with the cards and the beast, "I'll do my best!" You exclaim.
"Good luck, prefect." Ace says.
"I see, a prefect." Crowley murmurs. "I do have a work request.. and having a title makes it very conve..I mean wonderful!" He corrects himself.
"Prefect, I entrust you with this."
Crowley hands you a familiar camera. 'I almost forgot about this.'
"This is nicknamed the 'ghost camera'." The crow says, your eyes glued to the camera as you observe the littlest detail.
"Ooh, my grandma's told me about those." Ace mentions. "It's a super old magic tool, right?"
"It's not that old.." Crowley sighs, displeased with the description. "It's true this may have been invented during your great grandmother's time, or your great-great grandmother's time."
"There is a very unique spell cast on it." He explains, "It not only captures the subjects' form, but also a part of their soul."
Deuce raises a brow. "A part of their souls..?" He questions.
"Memory: A fragment of Remembrance" is another name for it." Crowley says, "Further more, the most interesting thing about this camera is that the souls of the photographer and the photographed become deeply connected and the memory in the photo comes jumping out!" He finishes.
"It comes jumping out?" Grim asks, the crow nods.
"Depending on how close the subject and the photographer are, the picture could move like a video." Crowley explains. "Or bring to life the situation in the photo. Fascinating, right?"
"Bring the photo to life? It's lkke a ghost photographer!" Deuce exclaims.
"Yes, therefore it is called a 'ghost camera.'" Crowley says.
"People would scream 'ghost!' in surprise when the memory comes jumping out."
"A camera for freaking people out.." Ace furrows his brows, who would make something like that?
"Prefect." Crowley turns to you. "Please take photos of Grim and the other students to leave behind many of your memories of your lives in this academy." He says.
"La-lalala~ Take lots of cool photos of me~" Grim sings.
"Be sure to leave a memory especially when someone misbehaves. It's the most suitable way to report to me, Right?" The headmaster speaks. "To give you such a rare item, does my graciousness know no bounds?"
"Thank you headmaster." You smile.
Crowley smiles back at you, "It is already late. Let's save the detailed conversation for tomorrow." He says, "Return to your dormitories, everyone."
You all nod and leave the room. Grim finds his way in your arms as you picked him up.
"La lala~" Grim begins singing again, "I start as a student of Night Raven College tomorrow. I'm gonna leave you all and take the top spot!" He says.
Ace furrows his brows. "You talk big for someone who is only half a student.." He sighs, "Anyways, it's fine." You see his eyes soften slightly.
"We're classmates tomorrow, Prefect, Grim." Deuce speaks up, smiling.
"I'm glad to attend here with you guys." You say with a smile.
The tip of Ace's ears turn red as he scratches the back of his neck. "Saying stuff like that is really embarrassing, will you stop?"
Deuce chuckles. "That's true. Even if we don't want to, we're going to see each other everyday. I'm even in Heartslabyul with this jerk." He points to Ace, making him glare.
"The thought of having to see Mr. Serious mug everyday makes me sick." The ginger gags.
"That's my line, truant Ace."
"You guys are still fighting?"
A familiar voice joins in the conversation, you all look up to see the ghosts from the mainstreet.
"GAAHHH!" You all scream, you feel your heart jumping out of your ribcage.
"GRIM! FIRE!"
"DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!"
The beast still follows your orders, and a he breaths out a burst of flame aiming for the ghost.
"How rude! I don't wanna talk anyway..!" The ghost's voice echoes as he disappears of to who knows where.
Grim pants, shaking. "It's that ghost again..."
"Who even are they?" You ask. Ace turns his head to you.
"You seriously don't know?" You raise a brow, making him facepalm himself. "Right, another world.." He mutters, recalling you telling him of your situation on the way to the Hall of Mirrors.
"He's the Mainstreet Ghost, randomly appears a few years ago and mostly sticked to the, well, Mainstreet." Ace explains, "He quickly became popular outside of NRC because of him helping others or spooking them."
"And everyone is okay with him staying here..?" Grim asks, the card duo nod.
"He's seen in a good light thanks to his navigations and information about the great seven, so the headmaster just let him be, I guess.." Deuce says.
'None of that is helpful to finding out why he isn't in the story.' You groan.
"Oh, yeah." You perk your head up. "You guys wanna eat at our dorm? Dinner must've already passed at your dorm."
Ace shakes his head, "Nah, I'll just eat whatever is in the fridge." He says.
"I'm not that hungry either." Deuce mentions, "It's already late anyway, we shouldn't impose."
"It's not imposing if I'm inviting you." You sigh, "Oh well, don't steal a tart or something."
Ace raises a brow, confused by your words, but doesn't question it.
"I'm hungry!" Grim says, raising his paws like a toddler.
"I know, I know.. Let's just eat leftovers." You mutter, he seems content with that.
"As long as it tastes good it's good for me!"

The roses are painted bright red with brushes held by card soldiers, singing as they do so.
"Hurry, hurry! We have to paint them all red!" The Ace of Clovers rushes.
A small blonde girl clad in blue raises a brow, "Why do you need to paint a roses red?" She asked.
"Well, the fact is, Miss." The Two of Clovers begins. "We planted white roses by mistake."
"The Queen, she likes them red," The Ace of Clovers continues. "Of she saw white roses instead, each of us will quickly lose our heads!"
The blonde gasps, putting a hand to her mouth. "Goodness!" She exclaims.
"Since this is the part we dread," The Three of Clovers speaks up. "We're painting the roses red."
Your head begins to ache at the sound of the door banging loudly, Grim turns and groans at the noise.
'I just told him not to steal a tart..' You scowl, getting up from the bed already.
You and Grim walk to the foyer, you immediately open the door to reveal a collared Knave of Hearts.
"Ace, what're you doing here this late.. Gah?! And what's with the collar?" Grim questions, looking at the heart-shaped collar on Ace's neck.
"I'm never going back to Hellslabyul ever again! Starting today, I'm going to join your dorm!" The ginger announces, surprising Grim.
"You WHAT?!" Grim shouts.
"How about we talk about this inside?" You say, letting Ace in.
You go to the kitchen to make some tea while Ace and Grim go over to the living room, sitting down on the torn couch.
"Geez, this place is a mess." Ace darts his eyes around. Grim huffs, crossing his paws.
"If you wanna be apart of this dorm then deal with it!"
You return with a small tea set that you found in the cupboards and the kettle, pouring tea for everyone in the room.
"Thanks." Ace smiles, blowing on the hot tea.
"So, what exactly happened?" You ask, sitting down.
"That's the same collar that red-haired senior put on me during the entrance ceremony." Grim mentions, "What's it doing on you?"
"I ate a tart." Ace replied nonchalantly, sipping on his tea.
"Huh?" Grim blinks. "A tart?"
"You heard me. Literally just that." Ace sighs. You slouch in your seat as you cross your arms.
"Didn't I tell you not to? Truly, you are such a knave."
Ace looks at you with confusion, raising a brow, a signal for explanation that you did not get.
"There were three whole tarts! So I just took one slice!" Ace yells. "Then that tyrant of a dormleader collared me for it! Saying something about them belonging to him." The ginger huffs.
"........"
"........"
"You're both in the wrong here, y'know?" Grim speaks up first.
Ace finishes his tea. "Don't you think it's a little much to seal my magic because of one tiny tart? It's like having my arms and legs chained up." He says.
"Besides, there were three whole tarts in there! There's no way he can finish them."
"If there were that many tarts, don't you think it might be for a party?" You ask.
"Yeah, like a birthday party!" Grim adds.
"A birthday party...?" Ace mutters, looking down as he thinks.
"Did you apologize?" Ace furrows his brows at your question, clenching his fists.
"Isn't this the part where you say he's being to much of a power freak?" The ginger pouts, you just shrug your shoulders.
"You're also at fault for eatin his food." Grim says.
"Just apologize to him tomorrow."
"Fine, whatever." Ace grunts, displeased with both of your reactions and lack of sympathy. "But you're coming with me! This is your idea afterall." He adds.
"That's fine with me." You nod.
"So, where should I sleep for the night?" The knave asks,Grim gives him a puzzled look.
"Wait, you were actually being serious?" The beasts questioned. "All the rooms but ours is still a mess. Better get scrubbing." He tells Ace.
"Bleh, I am not cleaning up." The ginger then turns to you. "I'm practically a noodle and won't take up much space, so let me stay in your room!" He begs.
"Sure." You smile.
"W-wait. Seriously?" Ace blinks, surprised by your quick answer.
"No."

You were at the door before the Two of Spades even knocked, unlocking the door as he did.
"Ah, good morning prefect." Deuce greets. "Is Ace here?"
You simply nod. "He's eating breakfast with Grim, wanna join us?" You ask.
"No, it's fi-" You don't let him answer as you drag him and throw him on the chair, a plate of eggs and sausage already on the table for him along with orange juice.
"Deuce? What're you doing here?" Ace asks in between bites.
"I, um, heard what happened from the other residents." Deuce says, dazed as his eyes are fixated on the plate of food.
He then turns to Ace, a look of disappointment on his face as he breathed out. "You really are an idiot." He mutters just loud enough to be heard.
"Shut it! I don't wanna hear that from you!" The ginger grumbles, "By the way..Is the dormleader still mad?"
Deuce shakes his head. "Not really. He looked a little irritated at these three guys who missed morning roll call...The most that happened is they met the same fate at you." Ace gave him a questioning look as he furrowed his brows.
"That's your definition of not really?! He's angry, no matter the way you toss it!"
"Ah, Ace." You speak up, finishing your food. "Have you found a way to apologize?" You ask.
"I hate this so much. Why am I the one apologizing?" The ginger groaned.
"We've still got time before class, and I'm curious about other dorms." Grim says, "Let's go on a wander while we go watch Ace's apology." He suggests.
"This isn't some kind of show!" Ace yells.
You all have finished your breakfasts and found your ways in the Heartslabyul dorm. The heart shaped rose bushes everblooming, complimenting the red and white dorm with heart patterns.
'No wonder it's called Heartslabyul.. ' You think to yourself.
"Woah! This is gorgeous!" Grim exclaimed, turning to look at every sight in his view. "It's so much better than whatever ours is!"
"Crap. I've gotta hurry and get these roses painted." You hear a mutter from nearby, Grim's ears perk up as he does too.
"Hey, someone's here." He says, the card duo and you follow the beast to near where the maze is.
You see buckets filled with red paint, some spilled on the ground and one knocked over. Footprints were left behind and there are some white roses standing out from the red ones, paint on the roses still drying.
You see a certain diamond on the ladder, his eyes and mind focused on the roses and nothing else.
"Hello?" Your voice startles him. He turns to you, and see how his green eyes shined brightly under the sun and how his ginger hair is of a lighter shade of red than Ace.
"Hm? You guys need something?" He speaks.
"What are you doing with that?" Ace asks, pointing at the buckets of paint and the brush in the diamond's hands.
"This?" Cater raised his hand. "Can't you see I'm painting the roses red?" He replied dryly.
"But why?" Deuce looked perplexed.
"Ahh, it's been a while since I've got to see cute reactions like this. Actually, aren't you guys the students who destroyed that 10,000,000 chandelier yesterday?" The card duo and the beast sweat at the question.
"Ugh..We're never gonna stop hearing about this until graduation." Ace exhaled.
"And you're the one who added on even more punishment by stealing the dorm leader's tart that very same night!" The diamond pointed at him.
"I feel so lucky meeting you guys! Hey, hey~! let's take a selfie! Yaay!"
None of you have time to decline as he instantly whips out his phone (or maybe it was always in his hand?) and points it it himself and everyone else.
"Can I put this on magicame? Tell me your name so I can put you in the tags."
"I'm Deuce Spade.."
"Ace."
"Grim and my henchman!" You flick him away.
"It's Y/n." You correct the beast.
"Boop! And up it goes~" The green eyed diamond smiles, tapping on his phone. "Oh yeah, I'm Cater Diamon, I'm a third year." He finally introduces himself.
"You can call me Cater or Caycay, nice to meetcha~"
"This guy is really carefree." Grim mumbles, trying to bite your ankle as revenge for flicking him away like crumbled paper.
"It's nice to meet you too." You say, smiling.
"Ah, you're the student that became the prefect for Ramshackle dorm!" Cater points out. "You seem to be setting in pretty well. That place is so dark and unmagicammable!"
"Man, this guy really doesn't shut up does he?" Grim tries to speak. Keyword being tries, as he is current muffled by your hand to keep him from biting you and what ever noise comes out of him is barely understandable.
"What am I doing? I don't have time to chitchat!" Cater slaps his cheeks lightly, holding onto the brush with a firmer grip.
"Can you guys help me paint the roses before the party tomorrow?"
"But why are you doing something so weird anyways?" Ace tilts his head.
"Because red roses at a parth are the most photentic I guess?" Cater brought his hands to his lips, shrugging his shoulders after. "I've also gotta color in the flamingos for the croquet march, so mt hands are full right now."
"You have to color in flamingos?! Your chores are so weird." Grim says, staring in disbelief at the boy.
"So the tart Ace at was going to be for the dorm leader's birthday party..." Deuce mentions outloud. Cater raised his brows.
"Ummm...No? They're for our dorm's traditional 'unbirthday party.'" The ginger says. "The dorm leader chooses a random day that isn't anyone's birthday and we have a tea party."
"The heck kind of tradtion is that?!"
"Worry about that later! Just focuse on painting the roses red!" Cater looks to you and Ace. "Since neither of you can you magic right now, here's some paint."
Deuce widens his eyes in surprise as he stares at the ginger. "W-we can change color with magic?"
"I've never done something like that!" Grim exclaims.
"Don't worry! You're amazing upperclassman CayCay will help!" Cater does a peace sign as he strikes a cutesy pose that makes you die on the inside.
With your brush in hand, you begin painting. Making sure none of the white is shown.
It would be no good if Riddle beheads another person even before his overblot.

Meeting The Favorite || Bradley Bradshaw
Tumblr media
It was seven p.m where you were. Six p.m where Bradley was. At least you thought it was. You were staying over at your Aunt’s house for thanksgiving, wanting to spend time with your family more due to you being way too far for them to come over. You missed him.
It’s been five days without him, and the only reason he couldn’t go was because he was teaching a bunch of students for a mission that was supposedly done yesterday. It would be a miracle if he was here for tomorrow.
Sighing as you cut up the carrots, your cousin couldn’t help but wonder why you were sad. “Cousin,” she started as you placed the knife down. “What’s got you so bloom?” Daniella asked, popping a cherry into her mouth. Your sister came into the room and plopped right next to her. “Nothing, nothing.” You dismissed it. They didn’t know about your six month relationship with a fighter pilot, an aviator of the navy. “We can see it on your face. Do you miss home?” Your sister asked.
You bit back your cheek. You did. You missed your home, the one where everyone knew each other and we’re friends, the one where through out the days and nights you could hear the jets and airplanes all through out it. And you missed your boyfriend. “Yeah.” Daniella smiled softly. “What’s got you so smitten about that town anyways? It’s a desert!“ she laughed out. “The people,” you placed the carrots in a pot to warm them up.
Your aunts and uncles, and parents all came rushing through the room. They had gathered all the ingredients for tomorrow. “Alright. Thanks (y/n), we’ll store these for tomorrow.” Your aunt, Moni had said. You smiled at her and the cousins and you all went outside. “So..” your eldest cousin, Bernard started. “I heard from a little birdie (y/n) has a crush!” He clapped his hands. Your eyes widen.
“What? No-” you protest. “Oh (y/n), you think we don’t know? we see your Twitter.” He said, as he pointed to his fiancé. “The last update we got from you was six months ago. ‘I think he’s gonna ask me out!’ You tweeted.” You internally groaned. You forgot, that Twitter was like a diary to you and you spelt all your small secrets to the world. “Okay- yeah, maybe I did met someone there.” You told them.
They all squealed like five year olds. “Uhh (y/n)?” Your aunt, Alessia, called out as she opened the door. “Yeah?” You question her. “Some guy named Bradley Bradshaw is saying that he’s your boyfriend and he’s waiting outside the door.” Your mouth dropped open. “I KNEW IT, THANK THE TWITTER APP!” Your cousin’s fiancé’s girl shouted, and everyone ushered inside after you, as they watch you walk over to the door.
“Bradley? I thought the training wasn’t over-” he cut you off. “Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and the cadets wanted to stop here. They said I could give them hell after the week is over.” He smiled brightly. You smiled back. “Oh I’ve missed you,” you cooed. He wrapped his arms around your waist, bringing you closer. “Also give them hell? Seriously- you’re the last one they think you’re gonna give them that.” You joke, completely forgetting the family is there.
Bradley snorted, “yeah I know, but hey with this new rank of mine I gotta make myself a name!” He cheered. “You’re a captain now? No more calling you lieutenant Bradshaw?” You tease with a smile. “No more.” He finally kissed you on the lips, and you instantly kissed back. You missed those lips of his. “Ahem,” your younger cousin coughed. Your eyes widen and he jumped from the sudden push you gave him.
“Uh- uh guys this is Bradley Bradshaw, Bradley this is my family.” He smiled and gave them a nod. “Nice to met you all finally, heard lots of stories.” Your dad coughed and placed his hands on his hips. “I heard a new rank up? Excuse me?” He asked. “I-I work for the navy, I’m a fighter pilot.” Bradley stuttered out. And the family was in love with him.
Safe to say, they have a new favorite of the family.
——————————————————————————
A/n: I just know Bradley would be adored by the family. And he’d love it very much, seeing as the only family he ever has were the people in the mission and maverick and penny. He’s just glad he finally got to meet your side of the family! :)
