CW: body size mention, weight loss, internalized fatphobia

Today I'm officially 3 months post-op from a VSG.
HW: 345
SW: 337
CW: 288
Total loss: 49 lbs!!!!
GW: 170-190
Honestly this is one of the best things I have done for my body physically. My chronic back pain is improving (still have a herniated disc that may require a fusion) and my energy is returning to "normal" levels. I'm losing hair (a common problem after traumatic surgery) but thankfully I inherited awesome thick hair genetics so you can't tell. 😉
I'm mentally struggling with the internalized fatphobia that keeps coming up. Lies about my body, my value, and self-worth were deeply ingrained by people I love (and thought they loved me back) and it's a HARD pattern to break. My brain says that people only want to be around you if you have something to offer them, and now that I look like I'm fitting into this "you must hate being fat so you got weight loss surgery" thin-idealist mindset people want to interact with me. 😮‍💨 I'm struggling with the new found attention from people who would have ignored me before and it's making me really angry.

1 Day Post-op ——-> 2 years & 4 months post-op. Since I missed #transformationtuesday for the past few months, I thought posting one was long overdue! 😝 My tool is a little duller than it was in the left photo, but my mind is sharper. If you commit to life beyond the tool, it will work for you! Best decision I’ve ever made. #weightlossjourney #beforeandafterweightloss #vsg #fitness #weightlosssurgery #weightloss #weightlosscommunity #rny #bodytransformation #wls #vsgjourney #wlscommunity #vsgcommunity #bodypositivity #wlsjourney #fitnessmotivation (at USA, Canada and UK) https://www.instagram.com/p/CngVJPNOuwR/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

did you have weight loss surgery? some of your most recent text posts are reminiscent to my early post-op days.
Yeah, I had the VSG. I’m slowly adjusting to this new life. I’m on day 4 post-op.

I lost 22lbs (I’m 6&1/2 years post op vsg) in 3 months and I’m so damn proud. 20 more til my lowest weight post op and 20 more from there (so 40 from where I am now) to my ultimate goal weight for plastics.

Six Months Post Op VSG: Stalls
Six Months Post Op VSG: Stalls
Half a year down. One more year to go. I say this because that’s how long it may take to reach a goal weight with gastric sleeve. I’ve hit a stall recently. Mostly due to what I take in as food. Plus lack of exercise. I’m going to reset and start over. Back to strictly healthy foods and water. Along with upping my physical activity and holding myself responsible to go to the gym. The only cheat…

I’m going on 6 years post op and I’ve gained weight 😨
My lowest weight was 155 and I stayed there for maybe a year and was steady at 165. Last year I crept up to 175 and this year I’m at 195. I started eating really bad and didn’t pay attention to my weight. I started an intense diet that many of you did pre-op (protein shakes) to see if that will give me a boost. I’ve had string cheese and nuts here and there. Hoping to see some progress in the coming months. I’m going to try to wear the same thing when I take my weekly photos.

6 Months post op today! 125lbs lost.

Lately I’ve been more focused on what I’m gaining from this experience. More to come on that later. I’m having a hard time putting into words how I’ve been feeling.

Officially 1 Week Post Op!
I had gastric sleeve surgery 12/29 and I'm officially one week post op. A lot of my pain is behind me. The first two days were the absolute worst. The pain from the surgery was bearable but I pinched a nerve in my shoulder from sleeping so much on my back and that was excruciating. I cried on e because of that pain. I stopped taking the pain meds day 3 and now I only feel mild discomfort on my biggest incision when it's in a weird position.
Everything seems to be healing nice. My bandages are off and my steri-strips are beginning to come off today. The one strip that's come completely off shows a nice healing cut. You can barely see it!
Eating has been...something else. I'm on full liquids for 3 weeks and that's been the hardest part of this change. Most days I do really good. I hit my fluid goals and protein has not been an issue at all. There have been two days where I get depressed because I miss eating but it passes and remember I'll be able to eat the foods I love eventually.
I'm getting sick but otherwise things have been going smoothly!

5 weeks post-op
First few weeks, lbs were dropping daily. And then....nothing. Stalled out and left holding my dick (so to speak...) for the past 2 weeks.
Combined with liquid diet, I lost 32 lbs. And then I was taken off my hydrochlorathiazide (diuretic which helped my blood pressure meds - which I’m also off now). Gained 5 lbs and there I sit, no matter what.
I’m exercising 5 days a week.
I’m eating between 600 and 700 calories a day (Doc says aim for 1000 but that’s utterly impossible with what fits in my stomach.)
I’m drinking water (though I’m finding the 64 oz goal to be elusive).
I don’t know what else to do.

✨3 weeks post-op Tummy Tuck & Breast Reconstruction✨ The last 3 weeks have not been fun. I know everybody experiences pain differently.. but y’all.. this surgery is no joke😂 Don’t get me wrong - I’m so happy I did it & have absolutely ZERO regrets.. but that shit hurts😂 Here’s a couple updates : •The last drain finally came out on Monday since it was starting to get infected. Plus the line was breaking from stripping all the time & I had trimmed it as much as I could. So it was time. Y’all weren’t lying when you said you make a complete 180 when the last drain comes out!! I feel soooo much better than I did just a couple days ago!! •My hips are still swollen.. hell my whole body still feels swollen but the 2nd picture shows how much it has gone down over 3 weeks! My back in particular is finally starting to return to its normal shape. Bruising is also getting better slowly. •I tried a compression binder that I bought before surgery & it felt like it was ripping my muscles apart so I actually decided to get some spanx high compression garments. These are feeling much better & actually more supportive! This is what my surgeon recommended from the start but I thought a binder would be better.. clearly he knows best😂 •Went back to work today & did better than I expected. Getting up & down is still sore but I can feel it getting better every day. •Slept in a bed over the weekend with about a hundred pillows & I just was not comfortable. Never thought I would be excited to get back home to my recliner 😂 •Biggest focus right now is my fluids & trying not to overdo it. I’ve always had an issue with getting enough fluids since VSG, but have got to start making it a bigger priority. That & not trying to be superwomen when I feel slightly normal 🙃 Anyways.. thank y’all for the continuous love & support! Couldn’t have made it this far without y’all!! #tummytuck #mastopexy #vsg #vsgjourney #wls #wlsjourney #wlscommunity #wlssupport #wlstransformation #tummytucksurgery (at USA, Canada and UK) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnYXNXjo6Tr/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

2 Weeks Post-Op
It's been officially 2 weeks after my gallbladder removal surgery. I had my post-op follow up appointment yesterday. My 4 incisions wit dermabond glue are looking good. 2 of them already have the glue fallen off. I kno it sounds gross, but it really doesnt look as bad as it sounds lol. It just means I'm healing really well.
The appointment was super quick, and I was pleasantly surprised that I somehow lost 3 more pounds within a month! My BMI is now 28.8 and I'm 158lbs. Taking my height into consideration I'm now considered overweight!
My whole life I can only remember being obese or morbidly obese. I kno you have to consider your muscle mass and bone structure when measuring your BMI. However, I really wasn't all that healthy or muscular back in the day anyway. Even though I'm still overweight it's still a success to me, so I'll take it 😊 lol.

Oops...
Sorry, seems I forgot to post anything after I had my LBL in October.
Well, it’s June now, coming up 9 months post-op. Everything went awesome and I healed up great.  I’m not 100% happy with my results because I wish my surgeon had done more to deal with the excess skin on my upper stomach, but there’s no money for revisions, so I’m learning to love what I’ve got.
I’m dealing with a bounce-back of 30lbs from my lowest weight and that’s been hard. Last year was tumultuous and I spent most of it recuperating from plastics. Now I’m finally starting to get back on track with food and fitness to really learn what it takes to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle.
This is a marathon, not a sprint.  If you’re pre-op or less than two years post-op, you really don’t have any idea what life is going to look like down the road.
Be gentle with yourselves, pigeons.
