anyway this is the beginning of my twewy fic that’s been consuming me for the past month. it’s like. almost 11k now. i'm so close but the last 5% goes the slowest always. neo spoilers obvs.

The route is a little different each time, but it follows the same rhythm. He hits up the usual spots—the scramble, Hachiko, 104. The mural in Udagawa. Then over to Cat Street, and always ending at the river, looking down into the dark entrance of that tunnel.

He’ll mix it up in between, depending on how the mood strikes. Take a loop through Dogenzaka, linger around Center Street or roll through the park. Headphones on, music playing, he keeps it loose and lets his board lead the way, hoping it’ll take him to what he’s looking for.

Scramble’s as crowded as ever today. Beat steps off his board and crosses on foot to avoid crashing into anybody. As he moves along with the stream of pedestrians he keeps an eye out for a pair of headphones, Jupiter brand clothing, a bright head of hair on a scrawny frame—the kind of familiar things that could use a second look.

In the middle of the crossing, he stops. Someone bumps into him, but he stands firm, and the crowd flows around him. He closes his eyes and focuses on screaming one thought as loud as he can in his mind, loud enough to drown out all the noise in this city.

Loud enough that if someone was out there, listening, they couldn’t help but hear him.

A moment goes by. Beat opens his eyes again and keeps walking, stepping onto the curb just as the walk signal blinks over to red.

The three of them used to search Shibuya together, at the beginning. But that was a long time ago. Now each of them does their own thing. Beat likes it better this way—alone, he can cover more ground faster on his board. And he can roll with each hit of disappointment as it comes, easier than shielding someone else from it.

Most days he’ll find Shiki by Hachiko. She brings homework or a sketchpad and sits on the railing nearest to the statue, working, but mostly waiting. They don’t always talk—sometimes there isn’t much to say, and he’ll just give a nod as he glides by.

It hurts to see her sitting there. Makes it tough to ignore that hollow feeling in his chest when the same yearning is written clear on her face. Every few minutes she’ll look up and scan the crowds around her with a kind of quiet hope, then lower her gaze again in resignation. The same motion over and over, day after day.

They’ve never brought it up, but Beat knows she can feel it just as much as him, that Neku isn’t erased. That connection from their pact never disappeared, not completely. When they fought the Noise together in the UG it blazed like an inferno, since returning to the RG it’s dwindled down to a spark. But it’s not gone, and neither is Neku. He isn’t even that far away.

He feels so near that Beat can’t shake the sense that the next time he looks over his shoulder he might see Neku there, looking back at him.

Shiki isn’t waiting outside today, but Beat spots her in the nearby cafe, sitting at the counter against the window, facing the square. Her stuffed animal is placed on the tabletop where it can be easily seen. Shiki smiles brightly at Beat and waves at him through the glass, and he waves back and heads inside.

“I heard it was going to rain soon, so I snagged a seat in here,” Shiki says as he sits down on the stool next to her. She pushes over a plate with an untouched half of a sandwich. “Here, you can finish this if you want.”

Beat’s not going to say no to that. Shiki sketches a bit frantically on her tablet while he eats. At one point she lets out a stressed little sigh and scrubs at the screen to erase half her work.

“Whatchu got there?” Beat asks.

“I’m finishing some new concepts for our winter collection. We got funding to double the size of the launch, if you can believe it. I’m hoping we can fit a few more items in.”

“Winter? But it ain’t even summer yet.”

“I know, I’m super behind, actually.” She taps on the screen and pulls up a picture of a plaid coat, smiling at it fondly. “I think Neku would like this one, don’t you? Maybe he’ll be able to wear it in the UG.”

The figure she drew doesn’t even have a face, but it’s Neku. Something about the tilt of the head, the line of its outstretched arm… Beat can’t pinpoint it exactly. He has no idea how Shiki does that, or if she’s even aware.

“Ever since we got the shop in 104, I sometimes think… what if he just walked in one day?” Shiki confesses. She adjusts her glasses as she looks up and gazes out the window hopefully. “I mean… I guess it could happen.”

Beat takes a quick glance over his shoulder. “Yeah. I know what you mean.”

“Anyway, how’s Rhyme? I’ve been so busy, I haven’t talked to her in a while.”

“Good. Busy, too, burnin’ through all those computer courses she’s taking. She’s always holed up in her room, and I don’t understand half of what she’s talking ‘bout these days.”

“She’s still trying to find a way to hack into the UG, right?” Shiki taps a finger against her chin thoughtfully. “That would be amazing. Is it even possible?”

“If anyone can do it, it’s her,” says Beat, his pride clouded with worry, because, honestly, he wishes she wouldn’t. He hates the idea of Rhyme getting mixed up with the Reapers again, even from behind a computer.

“What about you, what have you been up to?” Shiki asks.

“Nothin’ new,” he says with a shrug. “Hittin’ the streets, like usual. Been a long time since I seen anyone from the UG, though.”

“Besides that.” There’s a concerned crinkle between her eyebrows. “How’s school? Or— are things at home any better?”

Beat smiles. “It is what it is, like my sis’d say.” He stands and slings his bag over his shoulder. “I gotta bounce, yo. Later, Shiki.”

“Bye, Beat. Maybe I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Some event is going on at 104 this afternoon, the entrance is blocked by a crowd of excited teenagers. Beat gives them a wide berth as he takes his usual quick pass by the building, watching the bustling shoppers and the big video screen for signs of anything suspicious that might hint at the Reapers being up to some shit again. He doesn’t spend a lot of time around here, it’s always too busy, and Shiki’s got this one covered.

There’s a lot of people carrying shopping bags from her store today. He’s happy she’s making her dream come true. She was so torn up with guilt over it for so long, even though they all know it’s what Neku would’ve wanted. It sucks that he isn’t around to see it.

Beat tries not to dwell on these kind of thoughts—there’s no point to it, and it’s not his style, better to keep moving—but as he heads up Center Street he passes a group of friends standing outside a photo booth, laughing loudly over the pictures they’d just taken, enjoying their day together, and he’s freshly gut-punched with how fucking unfair it is.

They won that game. They’d made it out. They were *good*. For those few short weeks, it had really felt like things were going to work out.

Coming back to life had been like a second chance. He and Rhyme were closer than ever, and he had some new friends, forged in fire. His parents were actually a bit better when he got home from the “hospital”, distraught after nearly losing both their kids, and they were cutting him some breaks for once. He even tried pretty hard with school again, and did alright on a few tests.

Not that it was all great. He’s still haunted by that lost look on Rhyme’s face as she sat cross-legged on her bedroom floor their first day back home, her old diary open on her lap, flipping through half-blank pages. “There’s nothing here,” she’d said quietly, with a heartbreaking kind of acceptance.

Beat stood in the doorway, his shaking hands clenched uselessly into fists. “I’m sorry,” he choked out. His vision blurred with tears, and he fought them back, knowing he didn’t have the right. He shouldn’t be crying, he wasn’t the one to lose something precious.

“Hey, it’s okay.” Rhyme stood and gave him a comforting hug that he knew he didn’t deserve. He was probably holding her too tightly, still trying to convince himself that it was real, that she was really there, but she didn’t complain. “All that matters is that we’re together.” After he finally managed to let her go, she went and picked up the diary from the floor, shutting it with a clap. “It’s a closed door. I just have to find my window.”

Rhyme smiled then, small but determined, and Beat knew she would be all right. She always finds a way to face forward. And, for the first time, he felt like maybe he was, too.

It was nice, for a while. But it sure as hell didn’t last.

Now he moves through this city on an endless loop. His grades are trash, his parents barely speak to him except to complain about what a disappointment he is, and he spends too many nights awake trying to outrun nightmares on his skateboard, which just makes the rest of it worse.

But none of that really matters. Not school, definitely not what his parents think of him. The only worthwhile things he’d ever done had been with Neku. They saved Rhyme together, and this whole city. Beat owes him everything. He’ll be damned if he lets his best bud just slip through the cracks of reality. He’s gonna keep looking, no matter how long it takes.

5. Tsurugi Kamiya from Servamp

Does he look like a knock off Izaya? Yes. Is he? Very much no.

Tsurugi is like my no 1 reason for getting back into Servamp, I left right in the middle of his arc and I ;-; IS HE OKAY??? DID HE GET AWAY FROM TOUMA??? DID HE BECOME WRATHS EVE??? NOBODY TELL ME I’LL FIND OUT ON MY OWN.

Servamp was one of those shows where I didn’t really have a fav main character for a good while until this guy showed up. This guy is an absolute crazy little monster I can’t overemphasize on this, his coat is used as a fucking straight jacket I’m not even kiddin

You get introduced to him and he’s scary and terrifying because he’s so strong, like he’s one of those strongest in the series characters and since he and the heroes are on semi opposing sides he is a serious threat. So you get introduced to this guy who seems borderline crazy and feral and then...you get to see him goofing off with his two boyfriends and their kid and it’s just

Like Tsurugi had a horribly abusive childhood and was basically raised like an attack dog and his previous partner :) well he do be trying to seriously kill him don’t he. But look! He found his own little family he can be semi normal in!! Until is torn apart by his abusive adoptive father figure :D!!! I ABANDONED HIM IN THE MIDDLE OF THAT ARC AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

4. Izaya Orihara from Durarara

Ah yes, the og queen bitch. Has my taste for villains ever recovered from Izaya? No. If your villain isn’t at least a bit like Izaya I’m not interested. Durarara was one of my first serious fandoms and Izaya was the first character I ever wrote for and I think you can explain me as a person if you consider Izaya was my all time fav at 13. I can’t really say anything about Izaya that hasn’t been said thousands of times before, I love how goofy and overperformative he can be, I love how there’s so much in him once you crack him open, I love how good of a villain he is for a messy story such as DRRR, puppeteer villains are really a league of their own. We need more puppeteering twinks, maybe then I’d be more into villains yaknow.

3. Hawks from Boku no Hero Academia

To no ones surprise!Him! I’ve been drifting off from BNHA recently what from catching bad case of JJK what from just reading n watching more other stuff and honestly that’s probably good because I’ve been into BNHA for a couple of years now as my main fandom and I really could have used a break. Not to say I don’t like BNHA anymore tbh I think right now BNHA is the best it’s ever been just ya know, drifting. That being said my love for Hawks will never die, god what a good boy and we got his backstory too aaa ;-;. BNHA was just like Servamp, something I liked but didn’t really have a fav character in until this random support character strolled in and won my heart. God I love how much we got on Hawks. He’s completely different from his initial impression and his unrelenting strive to do good despite being thrown from one horrible situation to the next is just ;-; HES SUCH A GOOD BOY. He’s selfless to a fault, literally putting everyone before himself and putting himself down for not being able to achieve more than is humanly possible I’m just ;-; I WANT HIM TO BE HAPPY. He just makes my heart happy, he’s good and warm and hardworking and in a manga where trauma plays such a major role in so many characters it’s so good to see Hawks there, having been through three different types of hell and still coming out unnerving in his goodness. All I want for him is to have a good life and to one day be able to smile for real.

2. Gojo Satoru from Jujutsu Kaisen

Again no surprise since I’ve been so into jjk lately. Satoru is p high up rn cuz I’m mainly into JJK now but god knows where he will actually settle. He’s not even really my favorite character in the show, that goes to Inumaki, but this is a list of who I think about the most (tho all of these characters are either no 1 or no 2 for their shows) and boy my brother and foxy can tell you I’m constantly thinking about this bitch. I didn’t really care about him that much at the start but then I got to Hidden Inventory and OH BOY MUCH TO THINK ABOUT. Satoru is such a wonderfully complex character whos evolution you can clearly follow through the years. He’s under so much pressure as the strongest sorcerer to deal with everything and he has to operate in that system trying to change it for the better while at the same time trying to make sure his students arent sacrificed in the name of that change. He has a very goofy disposition but along side with Nanamin who’s a lot more explicit about it, it’s clear he cares about mental state of his students a whole lot. He knows this world is terrible and that the will come out of it with scars and that he can’t protect them from all of it, but he balances protecting and letting them grow as much as he can. They need to grow so jujutsu society can change after all, but they also need to be protected so they don’t fuckin die before that can happen. This is without all the many many opinions I have on Hidden Inventory and SatoSugu as a whole, how they influenced each other, how differently they reacted to their shared trauma (Funny how everyone on this list is fuckin traumatized) and what resulted from it. How their fucking love story is dramatic enough to be a Shakespeare play. Also I like it when he’s long and goofy ahahah

1. Chuuya Nakahara from Bungou Stray Dogs

If there is ever a day when I don’t go feral over Chuuya I’ll probably be dead. He not only lives in my head rent free he owns the place.

HES SO UNDERUSED.

BSD has such a great setup with Chuuya, like he’s ex partners with the mentor of the main character who got betrayed and abandoned when the mentor left shared evil organization. Sounds like grounds for drama right? YOUD THINK SO. Like Chuuya and Dazai have such a great and interesting dynamic and you can feel how strained it is from the distance and betrayal and they bicker and fight as their defining relationship trait BUT there is such a strong underlying trust to all the fighting. These two trust each other with their whole lives and that hasn’t changed despite everything, despite how much time has passed and how much that trust had been tested. So you’d think he’d be an important character :) HES STUCK IN SUPPORT HONESTLY HES STUCK IN BACKGROUND UNLESS HES NEEDED TO DO SOMETHING COOL AAAAAA. Chuuya is literally one of a kind, I’ve never seen a character with such a good design and such an cool power and such an interesting relationship to one of the main characters and such a love and support from the fandom BE SO UTERLLY AND COMPLETLY WASTED. Even when we get Chuuya scraps they rarely build on relationship he has in canon but just throw in new random ones at him (tho that’s a broader problem of Kafka throwing new characters at the plot instead of developing the one he already has really). We get a hint of a cool fight with him? Completely cut out, More often then not it just feels like he is benched because he’s so damn strong there would just be no plot tension if he went in and broke some heads (which is also a problem with Satoru, guys stop writing op characters if you’ll just put em on the bus aaa). Anyway he’s completly and utterly wasted by the plot.

And it’s such a waste because he’s such a good character. Like he’s a member if the villain organization and is obviously by that very vicious and violent but also so empathetic and kind to people he considers his friends. He and Dazai have the brawn and brain thing going on and stg Chuuya is like the only brawn I can think of that is classier then their brain. Look at how this guy dressed, he’s high class gay, hat, choker, coat, gloves, he is bringing in the looks. I love how he can actually be completely calm and rational and put together but then put him with Dazai and it’s back to ‘we are 15 and we will scream out heads off at each other’, they are so childish.

Anyway I love Chuuya he deserves to be treated better and I will never stop screaming about Chuuya ever

evermore

okay when evermore came out I was re-reading harry potter (cause that’s my coping mechanism don’t @ me) but yeah I realised those lyrics fit so well with harry’s perspective at the end of Order of the Phoenix after sirius has died (rest in peace my beautiful boy...)

But yeah here is my lyric anaylsis:

I’ve been down since July - End of Ootp takes place at the end of the school term in june/july time

Motion capture put me in a bad light - Not as strong but ‘motion capture’ like photographers (and the press) in the daily prophet had been coming for Harry all year

I replay my footsteps on each stepping stone, trying to find the one where I went wrong - Of course in the aftermath of everything we know self hating harry was overthinking every action he took that lead up to sirius’ death and 100% beat himself up about it much much more than is shown in the books

Writing letters addressed to the fire - Sirius was his main correspondent, with him gone, he has no one left to write to. All his letters may as well be thrown in the fire, there’s no one left to send them to. And also the association with talking to sirius in the fire. Now sirius is no longer there he can only toss the words he would tell him into the fire, but there’s no one there anymore.

And I was catching my breath, staring out an open window catching my death - (Okay I know the opening of the song sets it out as November but work with me here) beginning of HBP, Harry is sitting next to his fogging window waiting for dumbledore to arrive (and let’s pretend it was cold) and he describes how that summer he’s been living life on a loop (a consequence of his grief and his fear of the unstable situation) and he’s clung to this promise of Dumbledore’s visit leaning out of the window, unsure if it’s too good to be true in his new bleak existance

And i couldn’t be sure, I had a feeling so peculiar, that this pain would be for evermore - Do I even have to explain this one?

Hey december, guess I’m feeling unmoored, can’t remember what I used to fight for - Well if we’re going by the time referenced then around christmas time Hermione and Ron fall out and also Harry believes the stuff about Malfoy and Snape and no one else does (Remus actually puts down his theory on Christmas day quite forcefully) and whilst yes obviously Harry does know what he’s fighting for (since he refuses Scrimgeour when the latter asks for his help) it is bleak time when no one will listen to his theories or give him the time of day. And we all know Sirius would have.

I rewind the tape but all it does it pause on the very moment all was lost - So I don’t know if you can tell but Sirius is my favourite character, and clearly I was a lonely child cause I feel very very real grief when a fictional character dies. And I have re read Ootp many many times and every single time I will see every decision made that lead to his death and scream (internally ofc i’m not an animal). And I’ve dedicated hours to replaying things to see how they could’ve turned out differently. I’m sure Harry did too.

Sending signals to be double crossed - Every time I always see that chapter when Kreacher goes to the Malfoys and comes back happier than normal and harry’s like ‘this is sus but whatever’ and you’re just so wrong if harry doesn’t think about that and hate how he got doubled by kreacher and voldemort.

Can’t not think of all the cost, and all the things that will be lost, oh can we just get a pause? To be certain we’ll be tall again - I don’t need to tell you all the things that Harry lost the moment Sirius was taken from him. A father figure. A connection to his past. A friend. A comfort. Moments and memories. It’s like the most traumatic grief possible on it’s own, but then on top of it he gets told he’s like mankind’s canon saviour and he doesn’t get a real moment to process it all really cause he comes back to school and starts Voldemort defeating training and I don’t Harry has ever really felt tall in his whole life. This poor kid.

Whether weather be the frost or the violence of the dog days -So there’s that scene I always associate this HBP with Katie being cursed by the necklace in the snow and the obvs the scene at the end with the freezing lake etc like the whole story feels frosty to me. Not just weather but relationships, it’s suddenly hard to know who to trust, (and the Romione fight) and obvs the rise of voldemort promises a return to the style of life from the first war (i.e. the violence of the dog days). Also dog. Padfoot.

I’m on waves, out being tossed, is there a line that I could just go cross - I’ve sort of said this already but Harry has so many things in his head with defeating Voldemort, his friends fighting, processing grief, falling in love (yes i ship hinny fight me), the world going to shit, you tell me this boy didn’t once think he’d love to just leave it all and go see his godfather again

And when I was shipwrecked I thought of you in the cracks of light I dreamed of you it was real enough to get me through, but I swear you were there - First off this is like gods version of a bridge, like Justin Vernon really outdid himself. Secondly Sirius’ death was a symbol of the start of the meaningful things in his life that start to be taken away. And he will fight in their name. And that’s how a 17 year old boy started a revolution. And won it. Cause he held onto the things that had once given him happiness in a life that was so bleak, and fought to see them again. The boy ESCAPED POSSESSION BY VOLDEMORT AT THE END OF OOTP BECAUSE THE THOUGHT OF DYING TO SEE THE THINGS HE LOVED WAS SO STRONG. THE BOY WALKED TO BE KILLED CAUSE HE’D GET TO SEE THOSE tAKEN FROM HIM AGAIN. ONce again I say, this. poor. boy.

And I was catching my breath, floors of a cabin creaking under my step, and I couldn’t be sure I had a feeling so peculiar, this pain wouldn’t be for evermore. - Okay not canon but image after the final battle of Hogwarts maybe that day, maybe months later, Harry comes back to Hogwarts and goes to the shrieking shack, to the place where he first met this man who would change his life and though he’s not here anymore, he knows that he’s out there, proud of him. And now the fighting is over (no harry does not become a cop wizard I refuse [redacted’s] suggestion) he can begin to greive and come to terms with everyone he’s lost. And he can realise, this pain wouldn’t be for evermore.

hi it's your secret santa! first of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! i hope you have a wonderful day! how are you celebrating, if you are at all? safely, i hope! either way i hope you manage to find a way to have a great day full of love!! consider my christmas gift a belated birthday gift as well lol. anyway i loved reading your last answer, it was so thoughtful and sweet. i realized after reading that i barely know anything about dove lol so follow up q: what about dove makes you love her so much?

sorry for the late response! the last couple days have been v busy and ive been super tired and dissociative on top of it so i made a point to save this bc i wanted to give it my full attention!

first of all thank you!! i was going to do a virtual meet and greet with one of my favs from jersey boys but he got confused about timezones so we rescheduled but were doing it next week! then i went to a virtual walt disney family museum panel, had pizza for dinner and watched some liv and maddie, my mom made a cookie cake that we ate while watching the grinch musical, and then some friends and i watched the jersey boys movie together over skype!

im so glad you enjoyed reading my last answer! and oof thats another loaded question (i love it tho)

- like i said when first talking about what drew me to her and liv and maddie, a big thing is just how much passion and love she puts into her characters. ofc she puts passion into every character she plays, but its the passion she puts into characters like liv, maddie, and mal that means the most to me. that goes back to the fact that ive dealt with a lot of negativity directed towards me for enjoying disney channel, and then you have dove out here saying “yah im a teenager/twenty-something who not only respects what theyre doing on disney channel, but puts my all into it” not to mention she even won an emmy for playing liv and maddie in season 4! i hope that passion and talent has started to change the conversation about disney channel, and tbh i think it has at least a bit. ofc, none of this is to say other people her age acting on disney channel arent talented and passionate, but idk, something about her has always stood out to me. i find her to be more animated and expressive than most. it can be hard for me to read emotions in live action movies and shows, so thats been really important for me. not to mention she was not only playing the lead but TWO lead characters on a four season show with distinct personalities but also subtle similarities. AND the main character in the biggest DCOM franchise in years for 5 years running now. PLUS the fact that there was a period where those were both happening at the same time. she was only 16 when she started all this and hadnt even had any big roles prior to it!! she had a lot of responsibility so it was amazing to see her not only pull it off, but excel at it.

- i just love like....her aesthetic?? shes always seemed to be a very old soul to me, into old jazz music and poetry and stuff like that. its just very charming. and for her to have that aesthetic on top of being a disney channel actress is a fascinating juxtaposition.

- this is kind of sappy and it gets tiring to hear it said over and over again but that doesnt mean it isnt true: i love how transparent she is about her struggles with mental health issues, trauma, and such. she has been for a long time but even more so over the last year or two. no shade to anyone else, but a lot of actors dont really give you a look into their personal lives, they just share and promote their product. im not saying theres anything wrong with that, its good to know what youre comfortable sharing, ive just felt all the more close to her with her being as open as she is, especially as someone who has gone through trauma myself, albeit different from hers.

- kind of connected to that, i love how important spreading kindness, positivity, and love is to her. thats another thing thats been said a million times but still, its very important to me.

for example. she’ll randomly tweet things like “i love you” a lot. im one to always think of the thought process that goes on behind whatever someone posts, texts, etc., bc personally i put a lot of a thought into pretty much anything i say or do before i put it out there publicly, probably bc of my social anxiety. even tho its a simple statement and takes her a couple seconds to post, she still had to have the thought “i want to remind my fans that theyre loved” or something along those lines. and she has this thought FREQUENTLY. to just randomly get a notification every few days or weeks or so of her saying something like that is just very heartwarming to me.

the reason i connected with miley so much when she helped me through my initial trauma was bc it felt like even if no one loved me, she loves her fans, thus she loves me. thus the person i love and admire the most loves me. even if its only one person, it can be enough. it was for me at the time. i feel that same way with dove. when she came into my life, i didn’t feel as unloved, but her love was still helpful to me.

- of course i need to specifically talk about her kindness in person too. dont get me wrong (ive been saying that a lot havent i lol), i totally and completely loved her long before i met her, but naturally, i love her 10x more after the experiences ive had getting to know her in person.

i could go ONNNNNNN about the experiences ive had with her, and i have lol, and if you already heard me ramble about this in the server i apologize, but the most important thing ive taken away from every encounter ive had with her is this: she always goes the extra mile. she always goes out of her way to make people feel special. what i mean by that is she could say/do HALF as much as she has when meeting me and i would still leave over the moon feeling loved. you can tell she does this in excess bc she really truly means it and cares about people like me, she doesnt have any kind of ulterior motive and isnt just going through the motions doing whats asked of her, she simply cares about me and the rest of her fans. some examples - the first time we met, i was sobbing (lol) and she hugged me for a really long time, rocking me back and forth, brushing my hair with her thumb, calling me sweetheart and honey. she even started to tear up a bit herself. - a couple months later, i went to my first liv and maddie taping. i was preparing to reintroduce myself (i looked a little different bc id been cosplaying as maddie the first time i met her) and ofc when preparing myself, i fantasized pretty heavily as i usually do and pictured myself showing her the pic of us on my phone, her gasping, jumping out of her chair screaming, and hugging me, thinking that was probably way more than i was gonna get. that is EXACTLY what happened. then she went on to tell me how my costume made her whole weekend. things like this would continue to happen where i would set the bar impossibly high and not only would she meet it but she’d exceed it. - our usual interaction from there on would start with her face lighting up when she saw me, her calling me some kind of cute name like love or baby, and then hugging me without me even having to initiate it. - when i saw her in mamma mia, i didnt know when id be seeing her again afterwards after pretty consistently getting to see her for 2 years, so i wanted to make sure we got some kind of closure. at the stage door, i reminded her how much she meant to me and just expected like an “aww i love you too” or something back, but she said “you are an angel in my life” and i will never forget that. obvs, i havent told her ALL the details about what she and her characters mean to me but like...she can tell. she can tell if im in a homemade maddie costume sobbing into her arms that theres something there, and shes VERY appreciative of that. - i thankfully got to see her at a meet and greet a few months later and every time i thought i should get going cuz i didnt want to hold the line up, she would just open her arms for another hug. speaking of being appreciative, she even said “thank you for being such a supportive fan.” as i left, i turned around to say one last goodbye. i made sure she wasnt with the next fan yet and yelled out “bye!” and she yelled back “I LOVE YOU!!” and blew me a kiss. again, its the little things. - i saw her at a small panel in new york a few months after that. she walked in the room when the lights were down as they were playing a clip, she quietly waved hi to everyone, then saw me and loudly whispered HI BABY!!! and stopped on her way to the stage to give me a hug. (then she looked at me from the stage and asked which way i thought she should cross her legs for the interview lol) - sometimes when she sees im next in line, shell give me a knowing smile or whisper “hi baby!!” or something like that. she saw me in the crowd after clueless and seemed to make a point to come to me last bc she knew wed be talking for a while, which we did. she even told me she’d seen me in the audience, asking if i was in the front on the left, which i was.

even all that is still just scratching the surface. weve “known” each other for 5 years now and every time i think she’s done the most she can do, she outdoes herself again. not to mention when im at these events, i see her treat all the fans she meets with all of that kindness too. naturally all of this has made me love her all the more.

- finally, lets just be honest here..........................shes REALLY fucking hot.

Hi! I was going through the layla x warren tag and stumbled upon your layla x warren essay (amazingly written by the way!) in which you said to check out Our Times. I was curious so I decided to check it out. I just finished it, and I am in tears! I love the movie- thank you so much for recommending it!!!

Oh my gosh! Hii!

I am so obsessed with the concept of Layla and Warren... They should have been endgame is all I’m saying (and will continue to say)! I mean come on, they have that sunshine character steals the heart of raincloud/grumpy character and it's just amazing! (But also, if you think about it, Warren is actually the one to steal her heart!)

(However, I understand that in my post I hate on Will and its unfair because that boy is literally a teenager who’s just trying his best.) I am also very obsessed with the fake dating / the whole we need to team up to do something but end up falling in love with each other plot! It’s just so good and so iconic and I cannot! And Our Times honestly does that plot so well!

Truly Lin and Tai Yu are literally so cute? Lara Jean and Peter K. who? (jk... unless)

There were so many iconic scenes? Them with their dog? Her crying in the rain? Him risking it all (literally) to get her a gift? Just the movie is iconic shit, and I kid you not, I watch it at least once a month (because I’m apparently someone who feels the need to inflict pain on themselves EVERY month).

When will I find myself a Tai Yu?

Also if you like Our Times, you should watch this other movie with Vivian Sung (the actress for Truly Lin) called Love The Way You Are that came out last year! It’s not as good as Our Times, but it is hella endearing and I love it! Plus the main couple is freaking cute!)

1. Better Days (2019)

I’m going to start with a disclaimer and say It is not a comedy or a rom-com like Sky High or Our Times, but its SO good! It also deals with some pretty heavy subject matter (bullying/suicide)... So I understand if its too heavy for you...

But if you don’t mind the heavy subject matter, the main characters have crazy chemistry and they are honestly too much for me! I love them so much! They deserve the world... did I mention I love them? They’re dynamic is so beautiful and sad and it will definitly make you cry is all I’m saying!

But its about this teenage girl who’s being bullied and befriends/hires a local small time gangster for “protection” from her bullies.... needless to say there are sparks! ( Aditional notes: When I say this movie is good I’m not joking, its been nominted/won multiple awards... )

2. Sen Çal Kapımı (2020 - )

Okay, if you want to delve into the addicting world of Turkish dramas and are obsessed with the concept of fake dating (like I am), than this is the show for you!

It’s a Turkish rom-com show that is currently airing on tv (as of today there are only 3 eps out)... It about the main character who’s hopes of going to Uni are shattered when she loses her scholarship because of the mishaps of wealthy business man (who she hates... obvs)!

So, she goes to confront said man only to find herself relunctantly agreeing to be his fiance in exchange for a job... Needless to say things get out of hand very quickly!

So, you know its going to be good stuff? I mean, they “hate each other” but have to pretend to be fiances... and have crazy chemistry? It’s too good!

(additional notes on the subject of our times, the lead hero in this show has a dog and uses it to see the heroine and if that isn’t a Tai Yu move than I don’t know what is!)

3. That Thing Called Tadhana (2014)

This is one of my favourite Pinoy movies! (Though On Vodka, Beers, and Regrets might be my new fav) Anyways its about this young woman who’s a hopeless romantic who just broke up with her bf and is doing some travelling to get over him. Cue her at the airport struggling to meet airline baggage requirements when she meets a man who comes to her aid. They decide to travel togather, and form a friendship as they attempt to med each other hearts.

It’s very cute and sweet and sad, and I love it!

4. Aśk 101 / Love 101 ( 2020 - )

So apparently I am a total ho for Turkish tv shows!

This show is so freaking cute I cannot! Its a netflix show and its so endearing and I love it!

It’s a Turkish Teen Drama set in the 90′s about a group of teenages rebels (?) who would be expelled from their school if not for their teacher who vouches for them.

When they realise this teacher is about to move to a different town, they know their chances of staying in school and not being expelled are non-existent. So device a plan to have he fall in love so she'll have a reason to stay in town with them.

And let me tell you! The ships in this show are so pure it literally makes me want to scream! I love Sinan and Isik + Burcu and Kemal

Those are really my only tv show/movie suggestions that have similar premises or dynamics as Our Times... However, we will do some honorary shout out, shall we? (Which is to say, I’m going to spazz about random shows/ships)

Dark (2017 - 2020)

Dark is literally like none of the concepts I described above? Purely because it's a mystery/thriller about the disappearance of two children in a small German town. It’s a very explicit and dark (pun intended) and grim show... and has some serious eerie feels!

HOWEVER!

I would actually die for Aleksander and Regina Tiedemann so jot that down!

(LOOK AT THEM!) If anyone looked at me the way Aleksander looks at Regina, I would probably die!

you blushed and tugged a strand of loose hair behind your ear as you felt stares scanning your body and face.

you quickly brushed past the guys, trying to ignore their advances and whistles, if only ryu was here..

"hey cutie. excuse me? don't run from me."

a deep, raspy voice caused all the hairs on your body to rise ans stop in your tracks.

"listen.. i have-"

you started and looked at the man in front of you. your jaw almost dropped, this jersey, the big number one. this was the captain of karasuno's opponent. what was he doing here, shouldn't he be warming up at this point?

"a boyfriend? oh i know. just let me escort you to the stands."

he grinned, putting an arm around your shoulder, leading you up the stairs. you tried to slip out of his embrace, to no avail.

"tanaka!"

he yelled out, victorious grin plastered across his face as he pulled you even closer, hand resting on the curve of your butt.

your boyfriend's confused look turned sour and then furious as he slowly understood the situation.

"you fucking asshole! let go of my girlfriend."

he would've sprinted up the stands to kick his ass but daichi held him back, whispering something to him.

without a further comment or action the other man left you alone, making his way towards the court, burning stares of karasuno's whole team fixed on him.

"hey tanaka, your girlfriend really is pretty all over, huh? i bet she'd look better with me, don't you think so?"

it felt as though time had stopped, tanaka's expression shifting. his face was pale in shock, a scowl slowly starting to form.

his aura made even daichi shudder, nobody dared to even put a hand on his shoulder to calm him down.

"you think so? i don't know man, did she relieve your stress this morning or mine? does she look at you with sparkling eyes or at me? does she call you by your first name or me? does she hold your hand and tells you she loves you? the prettiest girl from karasuno is my girlfriend, not yours."

after he turned from him it felt like everyone in the hall resumed breathing as your heart was racing. there were tears pricking at the corners of your eyes, hands trembling slightly.

"ryu, do your best."

you whispered, eyes fixed on your boyfriend, who seemed to be on fire as he spiked one ball after another.

the third set was nearing the end and karasuno had the match point. kageyama had set to tanaka more than any other player this whole game, as if everyone had agreed to let him destroy the guy who put his hands on his girlfriend.

"ryu, show them who's boss!"

you yelled, your eyes meeting your boyfriend's.

the ball flew through the air, meeting tanaka's hand and the smashed it into the court, followed by a glass-shattering scream of triumph and superiority.

your arms flew up in the air, hands formed into fists, mirroring the screams of your boyfriend and the people sympathizing with karasuno.

after the match had officially ended and the players shook hands, tanaka stopped in front of the opposing team's captain.

"i won. the win is mine. i will always win. you can try again, but i will always remain on top."

both of them knew he didn't just talk about the match but also about you.

"ryu!"

you beamed, running down the stairs, jumping down the last few, into his arms.

"you were amazing, i'm so so proud of you!"

your voice was muffled against his damp jersey, his hands roaming your back.

"i could only do so well because you were there to cheer me on."

he muttered, a blush present on his cheeks. he'll never be left alone because of this, all the boys would tease him for the rest of the tournament.

"are you okay?"

he asked, setting you to the floor, fiery eyes meeting yours. he was still furious, you could tell.

"yes, sorry that i didn't defend myself, i was just shocked."

he shook his head, taking your hand into his.

"it's not your fault, i'm sorry that i wasn't there to protect you, princess."

your heart skipped a beat and a cherry red painted your cheeks at the nickname.

daichi said, sending you a warm smile.

you giggled and hugged your boyfriend once more, before letting him go.

born in mapo, seoul on april 15, 1992; he’s currently twenty-eight years old.

TW ABUSE & ALCOHOLISM ---

his childhood wasn’t great. his mother was 19 when she had him and he was an accident, so she had no idea how to raise him/how to be a parent at all. plus, she only married chanwook’s dad because they had a baby together; he wasn’t a good guy at all, very aggressive, manipulative, hateful. he also had a drinking problem and it wasn’t uncommon for him to come home in a drunken rage, hurting anyone in his path, if he even came home at all.

he had a lot of pent up anger in his childhood because of his relationship with his father & he always took it out on the wrong people; his mom, his peers, his teachers. never anyone who actually deserved it. started acting out A LOT in middle school and his attitude persisted all throughout high school; he was always looking to pick fights, everyone knew he wanted to fight so most people avoided him.

when he was fifteen, he started hanging out with a rougher crowd & they frequently snuck into the local bars/clubs. also started drinking around this time -- this was the official end of his childhood.

him & his friends started rapping as a joke when they were together, mimicking the nameless performers they saw in the little clubs, but chanwook actually? started to like it? he was pretty good at it, too, so after a little persuasion from his friends, he started performing under the alias “jace”.

at around 16/17, he stopped going home so much because it was just... never a good experience, started staying out on the streets all night or sleeping in subway stations; frequently misunderstood as being homeless, but sometimes he definitely looked it. got into some trouble, but nothing too bad. was pretty much always just getting chased off by business owners/irritated cops/etc bc he was always somewhere he shouldn’t be.

things pretty much stayed the same until he was 20 & he was scouted by a representative from atlas records after one of his performances. he denied the offer at first/claimed he wasn’t interested at all, and he really wasn’t, but he also had no idea what he was going to do with his life, had no education or career plans, couldn’t keep being a street rat forever, so he eventually agreed.

when legion first debuted, there was a lot of criticism surrounding chanwook -- people he’d known while he was an underground rapper started making the connection & thought he was a sellout, netizens found old videos of him & claimed that he wasn’t idol material because a lot of his lyrics were very misogynistic, vulgar, cocky. neither side was happy, but the netizens settled down a little after he clarified that he hadn’t actually written any of his own lyrics in that time (which was a lie) and apologized gravely with promises to be better in the future. obv the underground scene just screamed SELLOUT! even louder but you gotta do what you gotta do.

his image during debut days was... a whole mess because his anger was definitely still present, but the only way he could express it was through disobedience -- he loved to do the opposite of what he was told to do, or to just take things overboard. he played every part he was assigned wrong; if he was told to be chic & mysterious, he’d be distant and a little rude; if he was told to be funny, he’d make outrageous jokes & would constantly show a very fake smile. the general public assumed that his unpredictability was his image, so it became his image; the company was content bc he finally simmered down a little and stopped acting like a fool, he was content because he felt like he had won.

there are definitely still people who think he’s sexist or arrogant, probably even people within the industry. esp since he has a little bit of a reputation for flirting with idols (male or female presenting -- he doesn’t care), but is always shot down.

has a tattoo of his mom on his chest, and he’s never had something ruin so many chances. pretty much any time he tries to hook up w/ someone, they see the tattoo of his mom and they’re either so shocked or so amused that it ruins the mood. rip chanwook.

not really angry anymore. he can still give off that energy because of his rbf & the rumors attached to him, but he’s come to peace with most of his inner turmoil, no longer wants to hurt people or start fights just for the fun of it. would much rather vibe, and with that said, he’d probably even prefer to vibe alone.

right now....... his goal is pretty much just to change the stigma of idol rappers but also try to stay on the public’s good side.

Narrator's POV

A month had passed and Barbara had settled in her normal life again; two weeks after her trip to New York, she received a call back. The casting crew wanted to see more of her, so they asked for a self-tape which she filmed and sent out the same day. Now it was about waiting and hoping she actually got the role.

Barbara's POV

It was Lili.

"Hi, Barbs!!", she kissed my cheek before entering my apartment. "How's it going?"

"Good! I was about to take a bath when you called", I glanced to the empty corridor. "Where's Cole?"

"Ummm, he's away for a few weeks. Life's hectic with all the photoshoots and trips...", she went to the fridge and grabbed a water bottle.

"I heard he was in... what was it? Lychee?", she spat the gulp of water she'd taken, I screamed like a drag queen as I dodge it. Her face was wet and contorted in laughter and I couldn't help but cackle at the sight.

"Liechtenstein!", she managed to say when the laughter was fading away. I grabbed some paper towels and started cleaning the table "I-I'm sorry, Barbs!", she was still trying not to laugh.

I brushed it off with a shrug, "Meh, but to be honest you're welcomed to shoot water from your nose whenever you want. It was hilarious!"

She chuckled, "That's why I love you, you make me laugh when I feel like crap..."

"Aww, it must be hard being by yourself in that huge house", I muttered holding her hand in mind. She stared at me pouting and with puppy eyes, I hated seeing her like that. And then it occurred to me!

"Lils, I'll tell you what..."

An hour later, my whole squad was at my place (except for Cole, obvs) and they had invited their own friends who had invited even more people! Music blasted the speakers, people danced in the living room and my kitchen was overflowing with snacks and bottles; I gawked at the sight of my house being invaded like that. There were about 20 people in my small living room, I checked out the window and there were other 20 hanging out in the corridor.

"What are we gonna do if someone calls the police?", my best friend Ellie told me.

"It wouldn't be the first time, would it?", and it was true. My friends and I had a long record of police officers calling our parties off, but that was before everyone got jobs or a boyfriend or girlfriend and couldn't meet anymore. In fact, that was the first time I saw all of my friends in months!

"Come, Ellie", I urged her putting an arm around her shoulders. "Forget about them and let's have fun!"

In my bedroom, our closest friends sat on my bed or on the floor or the yellow sofa I had in there.

"Barbs, do you like pineapple pizza?", Keery asked me as soon as we entered the room.

I squinted at him, "Uhhh, what?"

"Barbs, remember the time we went to Santa Monica with my mom?", that was Lana, she was sitting on the edge of the sofa, looking dark and intense. Her hands were open at the height of her chest, she reminded me of that guy on the History Channel who talks about aliens and shit. "Remember?"

I shook my head, "Uhh, yes. I remember, why?"

"Okay, pay attention", she pronounced every word calmly: "What did we eat that day?"

I frowned in disbelief, "How the hell would I remember that? That was last summer!"

"Barbs!", she growled "We had pineapple pizza that day!"

"See? That proves it!" Keery chimed back in with a loud clap "Pineapple pizza is so horrible that she can't even remember she had it"

"Okay, what the hell is this all about?" Ellie asked with the same frustration I was feeling. Lana crossed her arms and gave the boy a killer look. He narrowed her eyes at her, then glanced at everyone in the room before stuttering:

"P-Pineapple pizza!"

The rest of my friends chuckled.

"They can't agree on what ingredients are best in pizza", at last Logan explained the situation. "Joe said pepperoni and Lana said pineapple..."

"I said bell pepper", the redhead Madeleine broke in. Everyone stared at her "What? Bell pepper, unlike pineapple, is unproblematic"

I took a deep breath, "Well, pineapple pizza blows, to be honest"

"Whaaat?!", Lana gasped and gave me an indignant look.

Keery elicited a loud "HA!" before pulling Maddie in a kiss, "I won, babe!"

"Hey, hey, hey!", Lili threw a handful of popcorn at them. "No eating in front of the poor!"

"Yeah, can't you see we are three virginal damsels whose men are far away?", Ellie added in a fake baby voice. I chocked on my drink.

"Men?", Logan shifted on his seat and raised an eyebrow at me. "Whoa, I didn't know Barbara had a new boyfriend"

I glared sideways at my best friend, if looks could kill...

"That's because I don't have a boyfriend, Lerman", I responded sharply and bit on my cup. My friends knew everything about me, but I hadn't told them about me and Ben. Only three of them knew, which meant...

"Oh, don't look at me", Lili raised her hands quickly. "I didn't breathe a word" my eyes then drifted to Ellie who snorted and gave me a really? kind of look.

"What's that about?" Keery demanded, glancing at his girlfriend. "No one has told us anything about a boyfriend"

"Oh, good because I don't have one!" I sang stomping my way out of the room.

"Wha- hold on!", Logan jumped off his seat. "No one's leaving now that you dropped that bomb on us", he scanned the room, the others nodded in agreement. "Well, no one except me... We need alcohol for this", he said before stumbling to the kitchen.

I told them everything. Well... I might've skipped the part about Ben being in Bohemian Rhapsody and the fact that we had sex (twice) the night we met. But all in all, I told them every detail about my breakdown and the café and the brunch we had the next day and how he'd been a gentleman for taking me to airport.

"Wait, what's the name of this guy again?" Lana asked me once I'd finished telling the story.

"Ben, his name's Ben"

"Bennn... what?", my heart started pounding in my chest. I didn't want them to know his name, or find out about what he looked like or what films he'd been in. I wanted the Ben thing to finish once and for all.

"I-I don't remember his last name, I think he didn't..."

"Okay, give me second", she picked up her phone and started scrolling. My chest almost exploded, it was nerve wrecking! What if she knew Ben from somewhere? And then it dawned on me: Lana was in X-Men as well as Ben! "I worked with a guy named Ben that looks exactly like you describe him", I held my breath as she handed me her phone. "Is this your Ben, Barbs?"

My soul left my body as soon as I my eyes landed on the screen; It was a photo of Lana and Ben smiling outside a garage. I was right, they knew each other and I was SO screwed.

"So?", Maddie demanded to know. "Is that Ben or not?"

I decided there was no point in continue hiding it.

"Yes, that's Ben."

"Are you seriously gonna tell us you didn't sleep with this guy?", Keery was in complete disbelief but I wasn't budging. I'd promise myself I would bury that part of my life deep down the mud.

"Wow, is it so hard to believe that I actually behaved?"

"No, that I can believe...", he retorted.

"...When the guy's ugly", he continued talking as he pointed the photo in Lana's phone. "But this guy's a hunk!"

"Yeah, I don't buy it either", Logan took the phone and started tapping. I buried my head on my hands, I was pretty sure he was googling his name. Suddenly, he gasped in awe. I closed my eyes shut. "Girl, there's no way in hell you didn't sit on this guy's face! Look at him"

The others shuffled and soon let out excited screams and snickers. I begged the gods, any god, to just end my life right there, there was no way any of my friends could live down the fact that I slept with Ben Hardy, even if I hadn't explicitly told them that bit of information. They weren't stupid.

"Have you talked to him since then?", Lana asked. The others were still admiring Ben's body (they wouldn't show me the phone, but I could sense that's what they were doing). I shook my head no. "Are you for real? Why?"

"I promised myself not to get involved!" I explained, lying on the floor. Soon after she did the same. "He's far away in London, busy with projects and I'm here in America and... I'm just not ready to start a relationship, not after what happened."

"Yeah, but you need to let it go, Barbs!", she flipped around so she could see my face. "Sooner or later, you'll have to accept that what happened with Harry isn't your fault. And that another guy could love you the way you deserve."

I sighed, "I don't think about Harry anymore, you know? The fling with Ben kinda gave me that extra push I needed to finally let him go..."

"Then what's the problem?"

I pursed my lips before muttering, "I don't want to get hurt again."

The gossip about Ben soon wore off and the party finished without any policeman coming to my door. I yawned as I wandered around the house, picking up empty cups and bottles from the floor and the furniture, Lili and was doing the same in the other rooms. When I finished cleaning, I roamed through the hallway and into my living room where I found Ellie and Maddie sleeping on the big couch.

I smiled, I'd missed my girls loads! Keery was outside, smoking a cigarette. I plopped on the other couch and allowed my eyes to rest, I felt exhausted from all the dancing, drinking, cleaning and the nerve wrecking confession to my friends. Soon after, I felt the couch dip on the side, I opened my eyes enough to see a blur: it was Lili. I smirked and let myself snuggle on the couch, resting my head on her legs.

She stroked my hair as she spoke, "Thank you for this, Barbs. You really cheered me up with the party", I half smiled as I felt myself drifting away. "Oh, and by the way, I found your phone in the fridge. Ermm, don't ask me how it got there, but I think your agent really needs to talk to you."

She placed my phone in my hands, and like I could I opened my eyes to see that I had 72 missed calls from my agent! "Holy fuck!", I got up abruptly as I scroll on my phone looking for her number. "Holy shit, holy shit..." I pushed the call button and waited. She is going to kill me for calling her at this time!

After a few tones, she picked up, "Hi, Amber? I'm sorry, I-", she spoke quickly in the line, so excitedly that she forgot to yell at me for calling her so late. My heart sank. "A-are you sure?!", a huge smile was starting to form on my face. Lili was looking at me, mouthing for me to tell her what was it and Keery had come to the door when he heard the commotion. "Wait, Amber! Can you say that again for the people on the back?" I put my phone on speaker and waited.

"...you got the role! I repeat, you got the role!"

"Holy crap!", Keery yelled putting both his hands on his head.

Lili and I screamed at the top of our lungs, so high that Ellie and Mads woke up screaming as well. Maddie rolled off the couch, ending on the floor with her red hair tangled all over her face.

"What the fuck is happening?!", she yelled from the floor, she was in a kneeling position now.

"Barbara got the fucking role!", Keery came forward and picked her up in an effusive embrace before kissing and lifting her in arms.

"Ohmygosh!", she said as he put her down and both of them rushed to hug me.

Ellie followed, hugging me from behind, "I knew you could do it, you beautiful bitch!"

I laughed as I let myself absorb all the love my friends were giving me. I was about to start a new chapter in my life, one that could change my life forever and I wasn't letting anyone get in my way.

52. How long could you go without talking?

Hum... I actually can go for long period of silence, it’s the super power of social anxiety and depression.

BUT let’s answer this for when I’m good (aka not silenced by my MI): I’d say a whole day so 24h. Sometimes I just need to take time for myself and i just chill silently (including social media silence).

60. Do you believe in aliens?

Yes! I do. To me, considering how big the universe is, I absolutely believe we’re definitely not alone. Also my wife (Thirteen, the Doctor) is an alien so obvs I believe in them😉😉

That said, I’m not so sure about aliens on Earth. I mean, if they did come at one point, I think they saw the mess that humanity is and they went: "nope, not going near these terrible aliens" (because to them we are the aliens).

But maybe there’re some hidden aliens here (not necessarily with human form) that observe us and right now they’re calling their people and screaming: "I WANNA GO BACK HOME HUMANS ARE TERRIBLE ALSO THEIR PLANET IS GOING TO BE DEAD SOON BECAUSE OF THEMSELVES SO REQUESTING IMMEDIATE APPROVAL FOR GOING HOME NOW!!!"

Dragons! Because unlike dinosaurs, they still exist so they definitely won the game. Also dragons have been friends with witches for ever and they are very loyal, AND THEY MAKE FIRE WITH THEIR MOUTH HOW FREAKING COOL IS THAT (the answer is awesome cool!!).

Even though I heard that alligator (or crocodile I don’t exactly remember which one) are said to be dinosaurs or the evolution specie from the dinosaurs equivalent??? I don’t quite remember.

And also my bad, there’s still Denver, the last dinosaur. But Denver looks like a dragon so I guess he can be cool with dragons. cliche move: yall got paired up together

the project was basically one where you guys could freely talk about any topic relating to modern day society

you guys had to prepare a powerpoint expressing contrasting views to the topic and then also include your own

didnt seem hard enough, but since you were being graded on this you had to put in 110% effort overachievers ayyyy

so yall got to work, tryna think of what topic you could write about

and after much debate and thinking you both eventually agreed on writing about how social media portray young men

first yall were gonna do women but felt that others may do that,,,, and also that the expectations men had werent spoken of as much so this would be interesting

in lesson you made a quick plan about how you were gonna go about this

decided that it’d be best if you both worked on the powerpoint together, but done research separately so you could just merge the two when making the powerpoint. like, nana would find bad views and you would find good ones.

so you went your separate ways after that lesson and met up the next day

yall chilled out in the library after school and started your individual researching

and after like the first hour the cuTIE asks if youre hungry and youre like yeah a lil’ bit, so you guys pack up your stuff and head down the street to the cafe and eat a bit there

he pays even tho you had previously agreed to split it :(((

but the whole thing runs super smoothly bc na jaemin flashed thAT SMILE @ YOU AND ALL YOUR WORRIES DISAPPEARED BEFORE YOU GUYS EVEN INTRODUCED THE TOPIC

the whole thing went really well, you guys took turn answering questions your peers and the teacher threw at you and when yall were done he sMILED AGAIN !!!!! and like yall felt super confident bc that went hecking well

when you got your results back it was an A*/ A+ and nana sent a message to you like “OMGGGGGGG WE DID IT!!! YESSSS!!!! MY AMAZING HARD WORK PAID OFF”

Pilot Outline??

So imma do it - I’m gonna try something I rarely do...a story outline!! Something I hate doing!! That’s how PUMPED I am aklsdjflkdjsf ;DDD Also, I feel like I need it to get my thoughts in order bc basically the inside of my skull is just incoherent screaming on a constant loop ;DDDD WARNING: this is gonna be a long post!!! ;D

main purpose of pilot: to introduce main characters (main protagonist: roran; main antagonist(s): cassius, rowena, dmitrei, dezód), world, & general plot

must establish what is normal vs what therefore is not

also the foundational relationships, which are roran & arya (at end), roran & charles, roran & cassius, charles & cassius, cassius & rowena, the resistance

things to consider: the 5 w’s

who

when

why

main action of the pilot episode (which must, itself, act as the inciting incident for the action of the entire series):

additionally each primary character, as well as the episode plot, should have some sort arc a la:

beginning/inciting incident/set-up:

so roran is our main character, but since his story doesn’t really start until the end of this episode (finding the egg), he is not the protagonist of this particular episode. in fact, as i’m thinking about it, he might not even be fully introduced until a later episode - finding the egg could essentially serve as his introduction?????? bc im finding it a bit jarring to try and introduce both his thread and the ~political thread at the same time in terms of keeping things happening and not just focusing on exposition??????

i’m struggling to narrow down what to focus on in the pilot and what i’m starting to wrestle out of all of this is that...maybe alexandir or alaric or even cassius or rowena is the protagonist of the pilot episode??????

So here are some potential outlines as a result of this line of thought!! I also 100% feel we could overlap all of these and, if we go that route, that should make a nicely full episode!! I’ve isolated 6 (w a possible 7th in Roran??) potential focal characters for the pilot that I think, woven together, could form a pr coherent story for the pilot. Whatcha think?

focal character: ALEXANDIR GODIVA

INCITING INCIDENT: The war is won

start: establish alex’s experience in the war!! show the flow of his life and how he feels to see it come to an end

inciting incident: alex’s fifteen years of life must now change as he leaves behind combat and returns home

to a family who wants him dead - a fact of which he is utterly aware and doesn’t particularly expect to survive

RISING ACTION: alex returns to the imperial city

obstacle to overcome (that is, particular incident w/ which the episode will deal): ???????????? maybe he helps GUIN????

establish character arc obstacle: his family wants him dead!!! he wants to change aragoth for the better...and survive it

also wants to find and help the rebels!! and throne HELENA

his bio states that he would’ve returned earlier, but he spent time looking for aalis - i’d forgotten!

no one at home is particularly happy to see him besides some kids who he doesn’t really know!! #goodtimes

midpoint: alex tells CASSIUS just what he thinks and that sort of clears the air even tho alex is probs like ‘yup im 100% dead now’

tension rises: the possible helping of GUIN????????? something else????????

climax: more to do w the possible helping of GUIN???????

dénoument: he may or may not suspect guin’s involvement w the resistance but he at least knows there are other good ppl at court

resolution: alex decides he’s gonna do everything he can do to help aragoth here at court && even goes to coucil meeting

START: we spot alaric helping out some beggars, giving them bread and coin tho we see he doesn’t have much, himself, see his forest home, etc.

we don’t know anything about his background tho we only know what we see today

except for a loose sprinkling of little clues

we also see his relationships w the various members of the resistance tho probs focus most on GUIN for this ep

and also CEDRIC just bc they’re so tight but GUIN’s def the bigger character here to focus on!!

INCITING INCIDENT: tax collectors come to town to further clamp down on the ppl!! no thanks!! #getoutofmycounty

alaric quickly sees that he can turn this to their advantage, however, as all the gold that’s been collected has to be transported

and they can 100% make that work for them

we also see through this, not only that he’s done this before, but also that he has a history w the roads, the county, the laws...

OBSTACLE TO OVERCOME: ppl!!! starving!!!!!

ok he doesn’t have any permanent fix but he’s got some impermanent ideas to help things along!

and he’s working towards a better future so there’s that!!

MIDPOINT: setting the plan in motion i guess???????

TENSION RISES: receives info from CASSIUS via GUIN!!!!

CLIMAX: the whole burning village scenario

DENOUMENT: handing out all the $$$$$$$ to the ppl successfully but knowing that ppl have been hurt and killed

and things could easily have gone ever WORSE

‘if only we had a dragonrider on our side too hmmm’ ~alaric, probs ;D

RESOLUTION: resolution is a really strong word for the end of a pilot ep ;D but i guess he knows better what the stakes are

and can plan accordingly

focal character: CASSIUS MONTAGU

start: cassius is tasked w the v happy task of getting to tell ROWENA her uncle is coming back!! yay!! not a dreaded thing at aLL!!!

inciting incident: returns the imperial city to find that the privy council is meeting w/o him rudE!!!! 100% convinced they’re plotting

(lbr he’s probs right)

acts! like! an! ass!

++ a fun meeting w ROWENA #notweird

obstacle to overcome: aLEX is baCK!!!!! & this is weird bc cassius likes him which is worSE then when he doesn’t like ppl!!!!

also keeping the status quo, in general, on an even keel despite the resistance

esp bc 50/50 chance he’ll have to kill alex asp too

also fun bc asp they’ll be the two (2) suspects for JON’s murder and cassius be like [ x ]

midpoint: he and alex reach a weird understanding in that alex tells him exactly what he thinks and cassius is like ‘...yeaH’

and weirdly pleased to learn that at least one (1) person is still honest

even tho it sucks bc alex is like ‘yo i know what you did and whY’

also use this confrontation to build up cassius’ bad rep ;D

tension rises: something w the resistance and getting the queen’s tax???????????? and alex??????????????

climax: an adventure scene!! someone/something 100% gets set on fire and cassius walks through it like the bad, bad badass he is

dénoument: the resistance still gets the $$$$$$$ tho even tho like a town or something has been burned to the ground

and obv the privy council spins this to their benefit likE ‘those evil rebels burned ur village!! by summoning the fury of cassius!’

resolution: mah boy knows he needs to stay on his toes

but honestly pr much things’re the same for him as they ever were

so i guess this is basically a ‘the hero’s journey’™ ep for him that way ;DDD jk jk

focal character: GUINEVERE FONTAINE

start: we start out w her at the resistance camp as someone fighting to make a better world!!

not ready to show too much of her life, that’ll come later, she’s mostly a bridge between plots here

we can probs infer tho from her dress and ofc her court connections that she’s of rank

also the fact that at court she’s ‘lady fontaine’ might give some of that away aldjfklsdjfkljdsf

inciting incident: the meeting w ALARIC at camp where they hatch their possible redistribution of wealth scheme ;D

obstacle to overcome: she’s a spy!! her whole situation is just terrible!!

mostly tho trying to get info to the resistance from court w/o getting caught herself

esp bc she’s exploiting CASSIUS and that’s just...noT the position you wanna be in

esp when you watch him walk out of a fire unhurt and ur like ‘im gonna piss off THAT guy’ isabella does NOT approve

midpoint: guin uses a moment of CASSIUS’ tenderness to get some precious info...

tension rises: that she then has to get to the resistance w/o being caught!!

cue a whole sneaking around scene(s) && ahhhhh suspense stuff probs

what is this precious info you may ask???? NO! CLUE!

climax: deF a scene where she almost gets caught and maybe even thinks she’s been recognized for a moment

dénoument: it turns out she’s scott free buT she now knows she needs to be v, v careful

resolution: she’s still alive AND still in danger but she decides to continue anyway bc she’s a brave babe and believes in good <3

focal character: ROWENA GODIVA

start: the mysterious gracious queen enjoying her regal splendour!! its good to be queen!!

esp a dark queen

beautiful, and terrible as the dawn, treacherous as the sea, stronger than the foundations of the earth! all shall love her and despair!

inciting incident: CASSIUS brings her some bad news that not only is her uncle NOT dead, he’s also coming back home a hero

making the political situation untenable for offing him quickly

instead she has to reward him!!! gross!!!!

ofc she decides to use this v reward to kill him AND warn AVELINA but we don’t know that yet

or really anything she’s thinking!!

obstacle to overcome: rowena’s got a few! but she thinks atm that she’s stopped the prophecy (which she believes was about her not dezod)

her main thing now is mostly maintaining her own power: a goal troubled by alex’s reappearance esp w/ ROMAYNE

++ the pesky resistance situation but mostly she just sicks CASSIUS on them

and (eventually) she turns both political situations to her own favor...as always

AND punishes CASSIUS for letting things get out of hand by arranging her wedding to someone else!!

midpoint: announces her intention to wed ROMAYNE, thus helping to neutralize him as a political opponent, etc.

and essentially making him a glorified hostage yay!

dénoument: good help is really hard to find, these days, but at least CASSIUS isn’t 100% useless ;D

he’s still just as good at burning down villages and instilling the fear of GODS in the populace as ever so that’s something ;D

resolution: everyone’s in line atm...but rowena knows well and good that won’t last and she has to remain vigilant as ever...

focal character: ROMAYNE ‘i was a male war bride’ VITALIS

start: romayne decides to change EVERYTHING by helping aragoth overcome his bro and subjugate the southern isles

inciting incident: this plan quickly backfires

not only is he ~not king, or even governor, but he’s now a pawn in an entirely foreign game of chess on someone else’s board...again

but romayne’s nothing if not resilient and he determines to find a way to adapt to this, too

obstacle to overcome: basically everything in his life tbqh ;D

jk mostly surviving the imperial court and esp his bride-to-be who he’s 50/50 sure means to do away w him soon after marriage

also arriving at court and learning he’s def noT gonna be the governor of the southern isles like he’d imagined

also, like, trying to understand them and their customs etc - makes him a good exposition tool too ;D

hi these pictures are for ants but i was just looking through my listening history on last.fm over the last five years and lmao. i’m gonna’ talk about it to myself bc i want to take a nostalgia trip. idk if any of you can relate lets gooooo i wrote a wall of text

2011: first of all. my indie phase is missing somehow. i don’t know if it was 2010 or they didn’t count but honestly that whole thing deserves recognition. two door cinema club / foals / we are scientists / mgmt ahhhhhhhhhhh. i remember i become an indie poser bc i wanted to impress one of my crushes at the time lmao what up dalila. but i really did get into it and it probably shaped a lot of what i listen to today.

but let’s be real. it was also the start of my scene phase. we got the classics all right here folks. i was a HUGE of mice fan for a long time. nothing really stands out since i’m sure it’s a rise records cringe core playlist up in here. altho dgd sneaking in there :’) most listened to song: the amazing atom by at the skylines. it’s still a banger what can i say

2012: i looooooved teenage scream. and that’s a 100% why that’s outrageous is there even tho they aren’t even that popular. such a good album tho!! i like the transition to super good music like hands like houses and let live. both had amazing albums. shout out to coyote theory. you guys never did work out but i did love your ep so much. of mice disappearing is pretty amazing but i really didn’t fuck with anything other than their self titled special mention to a bunch of emo bands that barely didn’t make it like la dispute and touche amore. surprisingly crystal castles and cold war kids are hanging in there pretty well too. also probably one of my first rap artists to be in my top 30ish is mac miller lmao. kinda embarrassing but it was sort of my late night starcraft album as weird as that sounds most listened to song: vibe by coyote theory. seriously underrated!!!!

2013: dance gavin dance is here. i got super into them around this time. i think my habit of calling dgd and hlh my first and second fav bands ever started around this time. my love for baao started around then (wow thought this was more recent tbh) my dgd love showing even more since tilian made the list and jonny craig solo was #11 i think. tilian won out bc he had a super solid album and for jonny it was mostly just loosies i think. great year.

shoutouts to strawberry girls and death cab coming pretty close to making the list. strawberry girls was my study music and i went through a resurgence in my death cab phase. nothing especially weird around this point tbh most listened to song: paddington frisk by enter shikari great song obvs but its a mnute long so it shouldn’t really count. the lives we live by jonny craig comes in second which should be the real winner tbh. it was my go to song to introduce people to god.

2014: more jonny craig love with slaves taking the top. i remember listening to starving for friends on repeat for days. pvris came into my life around here as well thank u god. everythings pretty normal except for jennifer rostock right?? i had a friend from germany at this time and the band is actually super good. they had some screamy parts even tho it was a rock band for the most part but there were some (really catchy songs) ayy i remember learning how to scream a bit in german to go along with one of the songs. elenora is super underrated btw i loved their album.

special shoutouts would go to ariana grande and versa! ariana’s second album was my jam. i mostly listened to heavy-ish stuff around this time and it was my go to when i needed some chill bops. versa gets a shoutout bc of my eternal crush on sierra. nothing too weird about 2014 i think. most listened to song: starving for friends by slaves. duhhh ISLES AND GLACIERS 2 WHERE!??

2015: drake?? blackbear???? halsey???? no regrets all three are amazing and my evolution into a teenage white girl was in full effect. but no jokes tho blackbear is still one of my favs and i had too many halsey sing alongs ahhhhh but yes so glad i listened to enough camping in alaska for them to get on here. SO GOOOD. because the internet meant childish gambino got on. probably my first rap love tbh i know i’m very basic lmao. ttng is such a solid band too. palisades had such a cringey album but i loved that too

shoutouts to a lot of emo bands that are around 10-20. i love u guys too also for a fact i listened to a lot of j cole’s 2014 forest hills drive but i know for a fact it didn’t count since i used to listen to it on my phone mostly. i think it was my favourite album of the year most listened to song: on the run by dance gavin dance :’)

2016: T H E T R I L O G Y THO!!!!!!!!!!!! i’ve heard echoes of silence ages ago and loved it but for some reason never followed up on any of the weeknd’s other stuff. guys i fucking died when i heard house of balloons. if i’m allowed to count trilogy as one project then it’s my favourite album ever easily (but since that’s cheating i’ll say house of balloons is top 5 for sure) also yes. it’s all rnb and hip hop. i think a lot of things happened in 2016 and i wanted a change bc there was bad nostalgia in a lot of the stuff i listened to and i slowly started on a lot of this stuff anyways the last year so it was a nice change to change things up. trap soul was great. rodeo was album of the year probably. TORY LANEZ CRUEL INTENTIONS MIXTAPE IS THE BEST ALSO.

dance gavin dance i will never forget you and you’ll forever be my favourite band i’m so sorry you’ve been relegated to #14. the internet is also an amazing band and was so close to making top ten, most listened to song: free by 6lack. loved it. also just wanted to say initiation by the weeknd was 2 and grey l.a by blackbear was 3. deserved tbh

2017: early predictions are a lot of rnb at the top, a lot lot more emo stuff filling up the bottom ten i think

GOT7 Flight Log: Turbulence in LA Recap

So where do I even start because this honestly was a really really good experience

So first off, for the first time in all the concerts I’ve been to, there was no security check? Which was great because we actually all got into the venue and our seats within 10 minutes max of being in line! But at the same time I feel like it could be potentially dangerous because you never know what might happen.

So I got into the venue pretty early so I went to go find where my seat was and then went to go wait in the insane bathroom line so I wouldn’t have to go during the actual fm. While I was waiting in line, this girl in front of me asked if we were allowed to bring in water bottles because she thought we weren’t allowed to and was super thirsty so I offered her some of mine and she thanked to me and told me papa tuan had arrived outside and was taking pics with people outside but I was already inside so I couldn’t go back outside.

But anyways so after the bathroom I went back into the venue and as I was entering I heard all these screams and people waving and a mob in my aisle and thought got7 was here but there was mob so I couldn’t see. I went to sit down and asked the girls next to me what happened (I was sitting second from the aisle on the right) and they told me that Papa Tuan was actually sitting right across the aisle from us, hence the huge mob. The whole two rows were full of Mark’s family and they were sooo nice and sweet and patient even when hordes of fans were asking for a picture with them. Eventually a security guard had to step in and literally stand in front of Mark’s dad and physically prevent people from asking him for pictures. The whole time he was super nice to the fans and indulged them and it was also really cute because they received a lot of goodie bags and gifts from fans and also had a light up board for Mark that had ‘Tuan” on it in Chinese. We (the girl sitting next to me that I made friends with) also wanted to go up and ask for a picture but didn’t want to be annoying or rude and crowd them too so we held ourselves back haha. But we did get a picture at the end and Mark’s dad was so nice he even asked if we wanted to take a video which we did but neither of us were prepared for a video so it’s really just a super awk video of us smiling in the camera for 5 seconds haha. I really wanted to say something to them but I blanked and also my Mandarin isn’t good enough to say anything substantial unfortunately.

But moving on to the fanmeet itself, IT WAS SO GREAT. I think they performed like 5 songs - Hard Carry at the end, Just Right, Prove It, Boomx3 (Jinyoung asked Double Bam to introduce the song lol), Fly (THIS WAS SO GOOD LIVE), and other songs which I totally blanked on, also I think No Jam ?? also maybe home run?

But in between they had like a Q&A questions with questions from fans written on post-its and each member picked one.

The first one was Jackson’s question and it was for all the members - “What is your ideal type?”

He made Yugyeom go first lol the poor baby who says his type was a cutie sexy igot7 I think, and bam bam says his was similar, mark says his was igot7, jaebum said he has none, jinyoung was like ‘just one word. you!’, and youngjae pointed at a girl in the crowd and said you and she cried and the mcs were like dude you made her cry and yj was like half laughing but also felt bad so he told her not to cry which tbh I’m sure made her cry more hahaha. But jackson said his ideal type was a girl who only loves him because ‘you can’t share girls you know???’ and said he’d see those who were interested after the show. Most of the members tried to speak in English most of the time which I appreciate but I could see them struggling but still trying which was super cute.

They also asked for their favorite disney movies to which jinyoung answered toy story and mark said storks? and also dumbo I think which is really a great movie I am also a fan. And Jaebum really likes La La Land and the members made fun of him saying he also knew the OST lol and they made him sing a couple lines from it.

Jinyoung’s question was his first impression of the members lol and he said he first impression of jackson was that he was a hk actor lol, mark was darker than he is now, youngjae was really cute, bambam was TINY like 3 ft tall and jackson being jackson was like no like THIS tall and gestured like 1 ft above the ground and eventually got on the ground pretending to look for bambam cus he was so small haha. jaebum he said he knew jaebum for 7 years and he used to be more quiet and stuff and yugyeom he thought was older than him lol.

Jaebum’s question was what inspires him when he writes/makes music I think and he said that like it comes from his imagination but also the fact that people are listening to what he creates gives him the motivation and moves him to keep doing it and thanked us for being the reason (he said it almost all in korean and mumbled a lot so sorry if I missed something).

There was also a question to JB about why he likes or what he likes most about RnB and he said he liked that the beat isn’t that strong but chill so he can jam and also he just likes it lol.

It was a little awk because some of the members picked questions directed towards other members but it all worked out so it was okay.

There was also a question asking for bambam and yugyeom to do juju on that beat and they did and it was so cute and everyone went crazy.

After they did another song and then was the game time !! They passed out raffle tickets when you first came in and drew them and if you won you would be paired with a member for a game of like korean hacky sack they called it and I guess there were two rolls of tickets they used - one started with 264 or 294 and another roll started with 918 (my type) and obv no one shuffled the tickets or mixed them because 6/7 members picked a ticket starting with 2 and I died because why why why did no one shuffle but jackson got a 918 at the end and was confused and asked if all the tickets were supposed to start with 2 because his didn’t and he was confused and half the place screamed because FINALLY we had a chance which I guess jackson took as a cue that nope there was nothing wrong with the ticket. obv I didn’t get to go on stage but tbh with only 1/7 even picking a 918 ticket, I literally had probably a 1/600 chance so yeah.

But anyways while the fans who got picked were lining up, got7 played the guess the song game and were very into it but also very bad lol. jinyoung like gave up halfway and put his head on top of the speaker to hear better but i was like woah kid calm down are you trying to go deaf please be careful. but eventually even the mc felt bad for him and gave him a chance and i think (?) whispered the answer to Jinyoung but he either didn’t hear it or what because he still answered wrong lol and was like he (the mc) told me! youngjae was very good at this game and jackson and everyone else was a mess lol. and bambam had the most dramatic baaaaaaammmm when he wanted to answer. the punishment if you got the answer wrong was to to ahgase (basically a baby bird squat thingy and flap their arms it was so cute)

next was the fan game where they had to hacky sack and everyone introduced their partners and asked their favorite song and bambam called his partner noona after he found out her age and jackson was really happy because his partner was from china but also lw salty because her bias was jinyoung haha everyone was kinda bad at this besides jinyoung and his partner who got like 15?? and everyone was like woaahhh and they had really good chemi and did like a little pose and when he asked what her favorite song was he whispered to her so she said her favorite song was his song lol. and youngjae’s asked her age and she answered who’s that and he was like wait what oh okay what’s your favorite song and she said who’s that and he was like YOU DON’T LIKE REWIND?????? but anyways mark ending up beating jinyoung and his partner and was so happy he hugged his partner and picked her up (she was this small cute girl with light up green shoes) and everyone SCREAMED lol. jaebum’s partner got one and he was like YES to be supportive and then he got one lol and was like YES to save face it was great. bambam let his partner go first and was like ‘my queen go first’ and i died it was so cheesy and yugyeon went last and accidentally hit his partner with the thing they were kicking and she played along and pretended to fall down and he fell down and they hugged after and it was so cute she was nice and funny.

Hmm after this I don’t really remember what else happened besides more songs during which I screamed my lungs out and probably creeped out and annoyed the people next to me with my screaming.

During the ending speeches, yugyeom thanked all the fans for their burning passion and love, bambam said la felt like a second home and really really liked it and would come back soon and cooler and shock us?? i forgot what jaebum said but mark spoke in english and said he really appreciated la fans because it was because of us that he could come back to see his family and said they counted on us every time they came to the us and maybe they would come back for kcon or some other time this year?? his family next to me cheered a lot during this and the crowd awww’ed a lot. i also don’t exactly remember what jinyoung said but i’m sure it was along the lines of thank you and i love you and we’ll be back soon. jackson also spoke in english and basically said happy new year and that haters will never be satisfied so to live doing what you like and what you want to do because it’s your life. and last but not least youngjae was the cutest little thing he thanked us and said la made him happy but also he was really happy because someone he really liked was here (elliot yamin) and the mc asked who it was and youngjae was like please turn on the lights where is he and the lights above the balcony turned on and everyone pointed to elliot yamina and sanjoy and their other friend and people screamed and the mc/members got youngjae to sing ‘wait for you’ to elliot yamin and it was so cute he was so happy.

and then the members waved and left but there was an encore and everyone ran down to the stage for the encore and originally the security guard wouldn’t let people pass and was like physically pulling people back but eventually let us go and i found out later that mark’s dad was the one who walked up and asked the security guard to let us go but she said no and he said just let them go up and she let us go PAPA TUAN IS SO NICE HOW but anyways it was very squished and hot up front and a girl idk used me as an armrest to record ?? i didn’t even know her and another girl had her arm like pushing against my face and pushing my head out of the way trying to record. but the members were taking fan’s phones and taking selfies of themselves and members and the crowd and taking videos and i saw jaebum up close and jinyoung they’re so so goodlooking and yugyeom paid a lot of attention to our side of the stage and they sang no jam and it was so great. after the encore, i went back to my seat and we asked mark’s dad for a picture and he literally looked so HAPPY when we were the ones who were asking for a picture not him but he was so nice.

and then they asked everyone who wasn’t p1 or p2 to leave and checked wristbands and p1 went first with the group photo and it was so different from normal group photos where it’s like just the members standing and fans sitting and just a simple picture. everyone was back hugging or holding hands with the fans except jaebum the awk child who held thumbs up signs or made faces but literally did not touch the fans and i regret not doing p1 because it was just advertised as a group photo but literally the chairs are all in a line so as you leave the stage you also get a hitouch. but halfway through the staff realized their mistake and put staff members in between the chairs and got7 (who i am now gonna call gotsob (shout out to arandelly for this) because they make me sob with happiness/they’re so kind/goodlooking/talented/what is wrong with them sometimes)

anyways for the the hitouch my friend and i were originally really close the front of the line but we got so nervous because we didn’t know what to say to the members or even if we should say anything and who should we talk to so we stepped out of line to brainstorm and all of the sudden the members were gone and we were like what?? but then the mc was like people have been doing hitouch and getting back in line so we’re gonna figure it out and bring them back out after but if we catch another person doing that we will cancel the whole thing so during the wait the best thing i could think of was to tell jaebum i love him (typical but all i could think of) and jackson to come back soon in canto (because i personally get excited just hearing cantonese spoken at school (i got to ucla so its lot of koreans and not a lot of canto people so i imagined jackson would be even happier hearing canto because hk and he lives in korea) but they rearranged the order of members after they came back out (it used to be jaebum second from the front and jackson at the end of the line but now it was jackson first then jaebum right after) so i was too nervous to say anything to jackson because he was first and then it was jaebum but jackson was so nice and smiley and jaebum had a slight smile but still a little awk and youngjae was super super sunshiney so that made me less nervous and bambam was also very smiley and all the members made eye contact when you passed by which was really sweet and for yugyeom i had to reorient myself and look up because he was so tall and mark was like saying bye to everyone as they passed by and jinyoung was last but he didn’t really make eye contact because he was looking at the next person behind me so basically i highfived him while staring at his side profile lol and awk saying bye to all of them. there was actually enough time for me to say something to all the members but i had no idea what to say so i literally just stared at them and smiled as i walked by so i’m pretty sure they thought i was unenthusiastic and awk and gah i am ashamed

also one thing I noticed was jaebum kept putting on his hood during the songs??? I’m not sure if it was too bright or he was trying to focus or the lights hurt his eyes?? or if that’s what he normally does?? It was the first time I’ve seen him do that so I wasn’t sure. Like i understand people put up their hoods when they’re dancing but he just did it for like the whole song??? even fly which is kind of an upbeat song?

also during the song game jaebum said his name really cute so everyone was making fun of him like jaebeom ! jaebom!

What are your thoughts on the recent manga developements? Like the climax of the vs stanley arc and the suika mini arc etc, idk ive just been loving the recent chapters and wanna hear more talk about it and your rants so far have been really entertaining ^^

WELL i did make an entire playlist based off those 3 suika chapters so i guess you could say i’ve been enjoying the current arc gfgfh. ok here are my VERY extended thoughts on the last 10ish chapters under the cut (manga spoilers obv) (LUCY DON’T READ THIS ONE FR) (also cw for like.. discussion of diseases and stuff tho i dont go too much into detail, i’m not an actual doctor obviously dfgdfg)

this ended up being way longer than i expected so i tried breaking it into a few sections and adding images to make it easier on the eyes, i’ve really loved the south america arc as a whole but these last few chapters have been especially amazing

vs stanley climax

first of all, i gotta love how you called it the "vs stanley fight", and i mean, you're technically right since he is the antagonist of this arc, but it's interesting how they never have a direct faceoff with stanley, it's more like stanley and his troops attacking super one sidedly in a way the kos can't really fight against, so they use communication between their different teams to trap stanley & co in a situation they can't run away from and win in the long term

i love that dr stone "fights" are most often won strategically rather than in a straight up 1v1 brawl, in fact those more standard fights are most often used as a way to keep the enemy at bay until senku & co can figure out a way to actually win, also it's just really cool that the team that delivered the final blow was thousands of miles away from where the actual fight was taking place, or even hundreds of thousands if you count whyman as the "person who delivered the final blow"

stanley theorizes at the end that the kos will probably keep his statue as a hostage to make xeno work for them on the rocket if he wants stanley back (lmao gay), but considering their track record of letting past enemies join the crew, i have a feeling we’ll have both xeno and stanley (and the rest of the americans) back rather than just xeno

the only antagonist so far that hasn't been redeemed is ibara, who is just being kept as a stone statue somewhere, but you could tell that would be the case based on his design alone, he just screams *irredeemable villain*

xeno and stanley, while antagonists, are also clearly designed to be likeable characters, so i don't see them getting the same treatment

the only problem would be keeping a constant watch over xeno to make sure he doesn't do any Side Projects™ and develop firearms again, but it could also be that xeno was actually convinced of senku’s philosophy in their last talk before the beam hit, so maybe he will be willing to help even without having stanley be a hostage, but i guess we’ll just wait and see

as a side note, whyman periodically sending the petrification command was basically a chekhov's gun now that i think about it, so it makes sense in a meta way that a second worldwide petrification would happen, why establish it if it wont come into play later in the story? i actually felt kinda dumb for not seeing it coming fgdfg

aftermath/suika chapters

the first strategy they had for defeating stanley was a good one, but it wouldn't really make for good storytelling if it just Worked and they won just like that, it would be pretty anticlimactic after running from him for almost 20 chapters, so it makes sense then that what they had to go with in the end was the same strategy, but on a much bigger scale

suika being the one to be depetrified first and have to save everyone is also a good choice both thematically and to make sure the victory isn't too easy

having someone like senku or chrome who understands the platinum method to make revival fluid and then have it done in less than a day, or having suika simply find some extra revival fluid lying around like she was initially planning would, again, be anticlimactic, it would've lacked impact after everything they've been through

these 3 chapters also nicely bring back the theme of science not being exclusive to the “pros”, everyone can use it as long as they have the proper steps to follow, the most impressive example before this was the corn city crew managing to make a diamond by following senku’s instructions despite not having any scientists on board (and before that, gen and the villagers making a telescope)

and now suika is even more impressive, being a literal child and all, even though she wasn't able to understand the more complex methods, there was still a way for her to succeed, all she needed was to be patient and diligently go at it step by step, i adore these 3 chapters and i love suika so much now it's insane

suika being the one to get revived serves another purpose as well...

honestly, already around 188/189 i was starting to get really worried about how the story would handle the emotional aftermath

shonen jump manga has a tendency to just gloss over the psychological consequences of traumatic events (one moment i remember finding really frustrating was in bnha, when kirishima gets really fucked up during the overhaul arc but the next time we see him he’s just joking around about looking like a mummy because of all his bandages🙄), so i was worried they wouldn't treat the aftermath of an event like this with the gravity it deserves, (i think LITERALLY DYING could be considered a traumatic event but i'm no psychologist🤔)

suika’s time alone shows a nice contrast to senku, while senku is definitely not emotionless, during his time alone before taiju was revived he is still very cool and collected, not showing any emotional weakness like the king of repression he is

suika is a whole different story, she’s a kid, she doesn't repress her emotions like senku does, so during her time alone she is scared and lonely, especially at the beginning, we see her breaking down into tears multiple times, imagining her friends statues talking to her, hugging kohaku’s statue for comfort etc

this really provided the emotional catharsis i was hoping for, through suika, the audience is genuinely able to feel the gravity of what has happened

i do wish more of the older characters could be allowed to show emotional weakness like this, but i guess having suika serve as a proxy for everyone works well enough

on that note, senku was alone for only 6 months and even then its implied in treasure island that he may have a problem with loneliness

suika on the other hand was alone for YEARS, i can only imagine how that affected her mental state, tho honestly i can't say i expect the story to delve into something like that too deeply (or at all) since this is a shonen manga after all..

immortality

i’ve seen some people interpreting hyoga’s resurrection in 197 as “they can revive somebody that died from an injury, but people will still die eventually due to old age”, but i don’t think that's really the case, people don’t just die from “old age” by itself, they die because their body slowly degrades over time, which makes it harder to fight against numerous diseases, one of which will eventually get you and kill you

but dr stone (aka the combination of medusa+revival fluid) can nullify that degradation and bring your body back into a healthy state, we’ve already seen this with kaseki on treasure island where senku explains that dr stone healed his arthritis, a disease which probably would have lead to his natural death sooner or later

while we already know kaseki was in better shape than most people his age, it’s still surprising to see an old man like him jumping around so energetically, thats how much the restoration improved his health

we also know it healed mirai who was brain dead before being revived, so i think it's a pretty safe bet that it can heal other brain related diseases such as alzheimers

if so, then dr stone can heal injuries, diseases and even death as we’ve seen with hyoga, i think it’s pretty accurate of senku to say that humanity has gained immortality with it

honestly this development has been a long time coming, the idea of dr stone being able to bring back the dead was introduced as early as the first arc when tsukasa killed senku but taiyuzu were able to bring him back, but it really does seem like such an out there concept so i’m interested to see how they will base it in science... (and also how they will handle the whole… moral dilemma of immortality but i ain't ready to even attempt to think abt any of that)

my favourite theory that has sprung up from this is that if people really can live forever thanks to dr stone, it could be that whyman is actually a normal human who has been continually petrifying and reviving themself to live for 3700 years

wat will happen nixt?

back when 196 came out it kinda dawned on me just how much the crew has been set back in the progress they've made so far that it was giving me anxiety for real gfgdfg

seven years have passed, and in that time a lot of the tools they've made must have degraded, along with that, everyone they've revived so far has been turned to stone once again, there was nobody to upkeep the wheat fields and sundial and basically everything they've left in japan, and after all this time even the perseus must be in bad shape and in need of repair, as chrome suggests

how long will it take them to repair the ship? to repair all the tools they've lost? their original plan was to go around the world building cities where they can get all the materials to work on that rocket they’ll be making eventually, they already kinda started up corn city, but that has been out of commission for a while now, they were planning to build superalloy city in south america and have barely started on that

so they need to keep building these cities but also need to go back and revive everyone if they don't want their progress to go to waste, how will they go about this?? will they just tackle it one by one or split into teams, so one team can stay behind and work on superalloy city and the other can go back and revive everyone? who knows?? ryusui certainly made it sound way easier than how i've been imagining it dfgdfg

other than that, i gotta wonder are the kingdom of science really the only humans left on earth now that there's been a second worldwide petrification, or has some other group revived somewhere during the timeskip, OR maybe there might be another group out there who also devised the revival formula and was able to escape the 2nd petrification, which would then give them 7 more years to develop while senku n co are just stuck in stone 🤔 dr stone has always had some human antagonist so i wonder who’s next now that xeno and stanley have been dealt with

honestly my favourite arc has always been age of exploration precisely because it doesn't have any human threat and the characters are just left to craft and work on rebuilding society without the pressure of a looming war or a crazy american hunting them down, so honestly i'm hoping we will get another arc like that now, i think the crew definitely deserves it dnjd

random bonus ramblings

-using poop and shells to create nitric acid and it being a process that would take a long time is something that has already been mentioned multiple times in the series, so it’s really cool to see it actually utilized in the story rather than being random throwaway info

makes you wonder what other seemingly throwaway lines could actually be foreshadowing...

-since joel managed to fix a medusa im very excited for him to be revived so we can learn how he did it and how the petrification works in the first place!! (and for joel and kaseki to finally meet in general)

-drst has a habit of introducing a character in one arc and having them be Just kinda There for some time until they finally have their time to shine in a later arc, examples being minami and of course yuzuriha, so i'm wondering if the same will happen later on with some of the americans, charlotte seems like a good contender for this (the girl that suika saved in 185, i gotta wonder how she felt having to shoot down the people who saved her life)

-on that note i feel like matsukaze also still hasn’t had his time to shine or contribute in any unique way yet (other than exposition gdvdj)

-i was also really liking dr brody as a character so i was kinda disappointed that he just blindly decided to kill everyone in corn city instead of talking and trying to come to an agreement w them like he has been up till then (though i guess it was necessary for the plot🙄), interested to see what they do with him as well

-i wanna see stanxeno on screen makeout sesh 🙄!

-will senku not losing his petrification cracks be explained? if he still has them, will xeno, stanley, luna etc still have theirs too? (honestly i hope so, i don’t wanna have to stare at xeno’s big shiny forehead for the rest of the series gsdhgfd)
