how to stay motivated long-term
trust, me i know that long-term motivation and consistency is hard. long-term motivation might be difficult to maintain, but there are effective techniques to help you stay focused and determined. whether you're seeking personal ambitions, academic achievements, or professional success, here are some strategies to help encourage motivation:
understand the reason behind your goal ☆ does your goal contribute to personal growth or meaningful relationships? ☆ how does your goal impact others? ☆ is your goal meaningful to you? if your goal lacks meaning, it may be hard to maintain motivation.
positive and negative motivation motivation can come from different places ☆ positive motivation: the desire to experience pleasure ☆ negative motivation: the desire to avoid something (an outcome) both types of motivation have their place, so learn to recognise what type fits in where. (post on this coming soon)
set up systems use your initial motivation to set up structures: ☆ create routines, systems and habits that help you towards your goal even when your motivation fluctuates ☆ when your emotions wane, rely on these systems and disciplines to maintain momentum
break down goals ☆ tackle one goal at a time to avoid feeling overwhelmed ☆ set achievable milestones and celebrate each step forward ☆ keep the momentum going by focusing on manageable tasks
validate good work ☆ give yourself a little reward, or thank yourself, for completing hard tasks ☆ this reinforces motivation and encourages effort
remember--motivation isn't in a constant state, it ebbs and flows. these small tips will help to stay motivated. i'm going to provide more information in upcoming posts, and i will link them here once they are published.

this is a fun little challenge i created that'll hopefully help u to build good academic habits that'll improve ur grades and help inspire you to pursue excellence in ur academic life.

STEP ONE : ROMANTICIZE THE HECK OUT OF SCHOOL
when u learn to enjoy going to school, your going to be motivated to do well in school. because school is so IMPORTANT not only for ur education but also ur future. so take school seriously. and if u wanna become an academic weapon for the long term the best thing u can do is learn to make the best of, and enjoy it.
some ways to romanticize school :
create a school playlist that embodies the school vibes that u wanna have : i have lots of new jeans in my school playlist : i rly like the songs cookie, ditto and hurt for when im at school
ur appearance : if u go to a school where u dont have to wear uniforms, i strongly recommend getting dressed and getting ready meticulously bcuz when u look good, u feel good, and therefore u perform well. if u do wear uniform, wear accessories or hairstyles that make u feel and look pretty. i wear leg warmers with my school uniform and my signature is hair clips and barrettes.

read at school : i always walk around with a book bcuz i like to read a lot but if reading isnt ur thing, listen to a podcast about something that interests u (i rly like true crime)
take pride in ur notes : invest in cute stationary! i swear, sometimes i dont feel like studying but since my stationary is super cute and pink i get motivated to study just by looking at it lol. invest in quality stationary that u love and make ur notes look pleasing to you, and also effective. effective + aesthetically pleasing.
doing homework/studying in the library : or at least changing the scenery and location that u do ur homework from time to time. do yk how boring it is to do work in the same place every single day? give urself a break from the places u see all the time and spend time studying or doing homework outside of ur home. in a cafe or in the library, inside or outside, just change the scenery a bit
start a video diary : i started a little video diary with my friends so that we can remember our school memories. i just think its rly cute and a great way to bond with ur friends, make memories, and romanticize school.
STEP TWO : CREATE A STUDY REGIMEN
every single day study (at least for a little bit) ofc this will vary depending on ur personal schedule but the goal is to do a little bit of studying everyday, and if that isnt possible, designating 3 days a week to a thorough studying session.
the way that i divide my time with a study session is 40 minutes of work time and 20 minutes of downtime. during the 40 minutes of work time u need to LOCK IN. lock in on whatever assignment needs to be complete or lock in on whatever material it is that ur studying. ofc this'll differ between all subjects but dont study all subjects in one night!! thats ambitious, but i find it'll just burn u out so stick to studying for 2-3 subjects max.

STEP THREE : ADVOCATING FOR URSELF
this step is for everyone who feels a bit shy during school but u need to raise ur hand and ask questions!! dont focus on simply learning the material, the goal is to understand the material. understand it enough so that then u can explain it to someone else. thats how you can know when you've studied enough.
dont feel bad for asking a bunch of questions, its literally the teachers job to help you. so advocate for urself, if u need extra classes or a bit of extra help make sure that u get that for urself bcuz at the end of the day the only one responsible for ur grade is you.
STEP FOUR : THE RULES OF THE CHALLENGE
complete every assignment as if it was for a grade - dont half ass ur assignments, give every assignment 100%
study a little bit everyday or have thorough study sessions three times a week
romanticize school
ask one or more questions per teacher

252 days of productivity
what's on: ステラ (Stella) by Leo/Need
hi everyone, i'm yuki and this is a blog dedicated to 252 days of productivity (that i'm hoping to achieve.)
some things about me: i'm applying to several colleges this year. i enjoy flavored milk. i struggle with sh. i have Big issues with procrastination and mood swings. i'm constantly rolling a large boulder up-hill. i'm basically what you call a gap-moe.
i'm currently in a downward spiral.
not being disciplined, not giving my best, not living upto the potential i know i have.
my life is designed by failures and hardships, some are my fault, some are not. i've chosen to make peace with that. i've chosen to give my absolute best to whatever i shall pursue. because that is the only way forward.
i've chosen to apologize and to forgive. to run ahead. to fight for my way. to look back, but not with animosity and regret but with understanding and acceptance.
this project is an attempt to dig myself out of my hole inspired by binging five seasons of haikyuu!! in a row. i will be recording my progress these next 252 days. i hope to make some friends on the way.

i woke up around 9.30am today, and i have been super duper tired all day!! so not much productive has been done because i didn't need or want to today :p either way, i did manage to get 40 minutes of final revision for tomorrow's econ test (yes, a test on the first day back from christmas break) and i also cleaned out my pencil case, and my two school bags so i still consider it a productivity challenge success C:

I wanted to get up at 5 today to study as I couldn't really study yesterday. I messed with my alarm until it was after 8 when I finally got up... Despite ne being really disappointed and angry with myself for that (I was really looking forward to getting to so early to study the night before), the day turned out to be really nice. I:
spent quality time with some family
listened to some good music
revised physics for an hour (decided sleep is more important than studying right now)
watched some short self-improvement videos
wrote down my MIT's for tomorrow and rough plan for next week

- ate MAPO TOFU and went to the fucking ART GALLERY with my loved ones and it fixed me
- unpacked my suitcase and spring cleaned
- history wider reading
- drew up a battle plan for the easter holidays
losses:
- i haven’t seen my family for weeks and the 1st thing we did when I got home was argue. it’s like a tradition LOL… kind of bittersweet in a way
- interrogated by my mother vis-a-vis the many many relapses. had the “it’s all about self-discipline/do you need to speak to a professional/you gave yourself this problem” talk for the 1000000th time. Can’t really make a joke about this. sorry gang

re-starting 100 days of productivity
last time i made a promise to myself that i would do 100 days of productivity (march 9). i broke that promise, only posting consistently for 14 days.
and i think it was because of these things.
i had too many non-negotiables, which made starting each day overwhelming
i didn't let posting become a habit, and gave up when it got hard
i was focusing on achieving 100 days when i was still only a couple days in. i need to simply focus on the days around me--getting better than i was yesterday, and setting myself up for tomorrow.
and so, here are my new non-negotiables:
daily posts and that means posts that i write on the day! not scheduled posts!
eating wholesome foods that are good for my mind and body
maintaining the habits that i have built of: study, sleep, stretching and training
i'm going to begin today. good luck me, i guess.

No stimulation/media 30 minutes before going to sleep. ✔️
If I start a task, I'm going to finish it no matter what.
Meditate (guided or otherwise) for 10 minutes. ❌
Read 20 pages of a book. ❌ (after my exams)
Do not touch the phone/social media apps/Netflix while studying. ⭕

Took part in the commemoration of the victims of the Katyn massacre
Did my Pilates
Drew Greek columns
Listened to a lecture on art history
Like every Friday, there was thorough cleaning
Saturday
Shopping
Some morning exercises
I baked a Shrek cake
Made a playlist for learning, boosting self-confidence and a playlist of French songs
And Sunday
I prepared a self-presentation for the DELF certificate
I studied for an admi law test for an hour
Do exercises with trigonometric functions
2 pilates hours
I prepared myself for the new week
I think I managed to have a really productive weekend and had some rest at the same time. Next week is going to be very busy and I'm afraid I may not make it on time but I still hope that I will be able to organize it enough.
