Well I ranted about Black Widow, guess I have to do it about Wandavision too.
The unreasonable amount of people saying shit like âIâm a marvel fan and Wandavision wasnât goodâ. First of all, what the fuck does being a marvel fan have to do with your bad taste? You think being a marvel fan makes you qualified to talk about Wandavision? Take a seat please.
Wandavision had the sort of depth most tv shows now lack so severally that theyâre all cookie cutter crap and so dry that you get bored part way into the first season. Without giving away the whole story for anybody who wants to watch it, Wandavision touches on grief in a way I donât think Iâve ever seen anybody do with a tv show. Knowing whatâs going on and knowing Wanda is in the wrong, we still fucking root for her because weâve connected with her pain and her loss. We root for her because the writing was so damn good it bound us to her and shifted our own morality. Is what sheâs doing fucked up? Yes. But the whole time weâre wishing she didnât have to stop because we want her to be happy. We know she deserves it.
Wandavision showed respect and tribute to the history of tv, to icons that paved the way, and it tied it in so beautifully with Wandaâs backstory that I cried. Cried! The psychology was brilliant. The reality of our own lives hits hard, that weâre all looking for that childhood happiness and clinging to it and making it our coping mechanism in adulthood.
Wanda is all of us.
And Elizabeth Olsenâs portrayal of this character was spectacular. She got robbed of that Emmy she rightfully deserved. She is an incredible actor who made me cry and laugh and root for her and wish beyond anything that I could help her somehow. She made Wanda this badass woman who suffered over and over and over again. Losing her parents, then losing her brother, having her powers grow out of control and hating and fearing herself for it, losing Nat, and Vision, and crumbling. But still, despite all that she persists and hangs on and learns her powers and even with all her grief we witness a transformation of Wanda into the Scarlet Witch yes, but also into this hero who acknowledges her faults. Who acknowledges what she did wrong and who she hurt, and she willingly sacrifices her happiness (again) to make things right.
And donât even get me started on how incredible the other characters all were. Agatha was insanely amazing (another Emmy that was robbed) and Monica too. Of course we always love to see Darcy and her sassy amazing self. Agent Woo gave us all feels and of course Vision. Billy and Tommy being cute as hell. I mean honestly the freaking depth and portrayal of even the side/minor characters! It was amazing!
Personally, it was one of the best shows Iâve ever seen. And itâs fine if you didnât think so but if you donât have a soul that kind of sounds like your problem.
Kidding kidding but letâs be real, itâs usually men who complain about Wandavision. The same men who complain about Black Widow. If you didnât like it or it wasnât for you thatâs fine too. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Just stop going around acting like an expert on the writing, on marvel, or on psychology. Iâm tired of the mansplaining of female heroes. And Iâm tired of excitedly discussing it just to be cut off with a âthat show was garbageâ. Thatâs so discouraging and mean. Weâre too quick to shit on female run shows and movies that we barely give them a chance to begin with. We set them up for failure immediately. The bar is so damn high for them (and they fucking meet it but youâre still mad) and yet itâs on the floor for the dozens of sequels or remakes of the same couple of stories (yes Iâm looking at you fast and furious and Spider-Man).
Maybe reflect on why you donât like Wandavision. If itâs because your fan theory didnât happen (ie most people who shit on the show) then thatâs on you. Not on the show, not on the actors, and sure as fuck not on the character.
I said what I said. Wanda Maximoff is a queen. Nothing she does is wrong ever. Thank you and see you all at my next rant.

Getting a little irritated at this constant âBlack Widow floppedâ bullshit. So here I am, ranting.
How about we stop saying it was a shitty movie, or the villain was âlameâ, or that itâs Scarlett Johanssonâs fault?
Letâs look at some facts;
Disney waited 10 years to make this movie.
Made the movie after the character was gone.
Constantly delayed the release date.
Released it on Disney+ because of âCovidâ as they said, which doesnât seem to apply to Shang-chi or the Eternals despite Delta being progressively worse now than it was in July for Black Widow.
Honestly all of this seems to stink and is really irritating me.
Letâs call it like it is. Disney wanted it to flop because they had no interest in giving us a good female led film (hell, all Captain Marvel got was hate). Black Widow âfloppingâ will be the excuse for âwell we tried a female led movie and it didnât do well so itâs just not profitable to make any moreâ. Personally, Iâm really tired of that excuse. Iâm so tired of hearing âit wonât be profitableâ and ânobody will watchâ. Women will watch. But we donât matter the way menâs viewership does.
People complain about Black Widowâs film because it wasnât as interesting as other Marvel films. Sheâs an Avenger without powers, as is pointed out in the movie repeatedly. She doesnât have magic or super soldier serum or billions of dollars worth of tech. She doesnât compare. And comparing is trivial and a waste of time. Sheâs a victim. A traumatized adult. Kidnapped and forced to be an assassin as a child. She reclaims everything she lost. Fuck, she reclaims herself. The movie even touches on trafficking and the ties between human/sex trafficking and powerful figures like world leaders. Itâs more real than any Marvel film but Disney failed it so amazingly.
And as always, they turned and blamed a woman for its failings.
Personally I loved the movie and stand by it being a good fucking movie. I donât see how people think itâs not a good movie.
AnywayâŠIâm mad about it and about the people comparing it to Shang Chi this weekend saying âwell Black Widow was just a shitty filmâ. Donât even get me started on the whining about how lame the villain was (FYI for women heâs more horrifying than any Marvel villain ever but men donât worry about villains like him. To you he looks lame).
But whatever, I digress.

fuck it. be creative even if you never really *make* anything. write out plot synopses of stories and then move on. design OCs you'll never use. make mood boards and concept art and don't do anything with them. life's too short to forget everything that inspired you and creation doesn't have to be "complete" to be worth the time you put into it.

I was feeling alone and I didnât know what to do. So I wrote about it because the words on the page felt like a voice echoing back. And it was better than the silence.Â

Everyoneâs talking about the racism around Archieâs birth and while I donât and never will negate the importance of this topic, I think we also need to have a frank discussion about mental health.
Meghan Markle had to BEG the institution for help because she didnât want to live anymore. She had to beg her husband not to leave her home alone because she was afraid of herself. Her mental health deteriorated and she had to beg for help and she still didnât get it from the institution. Instead her and her husband had to pick up and leave to literally save her life. Not only is this disgusting but itâs just another reminder that mental health matters arenât taken as seriously as they should be. That women, especially black women, go ignored by an overall bigger system that simply does not care.

The Power of Fandoms
When the credits roll or I read the last page of a book, I spend hours, if not the whole day thinking about the world I just left. It seems like a much better world than the one Iâm in. And for a while all I can think is, I wish I really was a part of one of these worlds.Â
I may not actually have gotten a letter from Hogwarts, or been given the power to become an Avenger. I wasnât a part of an ancient coven, or born the daughter of a cursed king. Iâm not a mythical creature on a journey. I wasnât chosen to travel all of time and space. I may feel the Force but I canât use it to move things with my mind. Iâm not a demon slayer or a monster hunter. Iâm not a member of the hidden leaf village. Iâll never sit on the Iron Throne. Iâm not the daughter of a Greek god or a hobbit. I wasnât ask to choose a pokemon when I turned 10. And I canât control one element much less all of them.Â
But I kind of did get all of those things...didnât I? Hell, we canât physically live in those worlds, but the way human imagination thought them up, made them real, made our lives better with them...Shit I think thatâs pretty amazing. We imagine ourselves in those stories. We dream them up. We argue passionately and take quizzes to find out what our roles would be in these worlds. We discuss hypotheticals, write fan fiction, scream and cry our excitement, and love characters like family.Â
So Iâve lived a lot of lives. House Slytherin, Avenger, Daughter of the Women the Trials could not burn, Princess of an Ancient nation, mermaid, Amazon, Â Companion to the Doctor, Jedi, ANBU ninja, Daughter of Athena, Pokemon master, Firebender, and all around badass.Â
In a universe nearly 14 billion years old, I got to live at the same time as these stories, and Iâm pretty damn happy about it. So donât grieve that itâs not real because It is. And all we can do is keep the imagination running, enjoy, and live long and prosper.Â

The Truth of MBTI
Weâve all heard, and will keep hearing, that our Myers Briggs Personality test results are meaningless.Â
Probably.Â
But you know what isnât? The fundamentally human desire to find and grasp onto some sense of understanding about ourselves, each other, and the human condition overall.Â
Maybe the Typing doesnât matter. But weâre trying to find sense in this world that sometimes feels like it has absolutely none. Weâre trying to understand who we are. And even if the assessments arenât accurate or scientifically proven, who cares? In the end, the results helped you feel less alone. Knowing your type made you realize that youâre not broken.Â
We've created a whole world around this with all the funny content that makes us laugh and scream âomg thatâs so me!â. And thereâs nothing wrong with that. Thereâs nothing wrong with a sense of belonging.Â
In the end, we all just want to understand ourselves, understand each other, and feel a bit less alone. So the truth is, it doesnât matter if the letters mean anything, or if they're scientifically accurate, or if some people rolls their eyes, because seeking understanding is beautiful enough to stand on its own.Â
So do you. Keep associating with your personality type. Be proud. Read up. Tell everyone whoâs negative to find something else to complain about (trust me they will with ease) and just fucking be happy and belong.Â
