About a year and half ago I wrote a song about an incredible story, the story of a girl who always lived on the outside, looking in. Figuratively and literally. The juxtaposition of her loneliness and independence. Her longing and her stillness. Her curiosity and fear, all tangled up. Her persisting gentleness… and the world’s betrayal of it. I wrote this one alone in the middle of the night and then Aaron Dessner and I meticulously worked on a sound that we felt would be authentic to the moment in time when this story takes place. I made a wish that one day you would hear it. ‘Carolina’ is out now 🥺
You're abruptly woken up by the sound of your ringtone. You answer the call without bothering to look at who you're answering or what time it is.
"Y/N, get your ass down here. I'm taking you to see the compound," Tony playfully yells.
Shit. You had forgotten that was today. That also meant that today's moving day. There isn't much to move anyway, and it's all packed up in Stark Towers. Tony promised to get you new furniture so the place would flow better. He also promised to take care of all the boxes with things you were keeping. You tried to resist the help, but as usual, he wouldn't let you.
"Shit, Ton. I'm so sorry, I guess I overslept. Give me like five minutes."
You wipe the beads of sweat dripping from your forehead and take a huge sip of water. Breathing heavily, you grab your phone to check the time.

You and the team have been training for hours. Your muscles ache, and you wonder how you're still standing. At first, the team went easy on you, testing to see how much you could take. They soon realized "easy" wasn't in your vocabulary when it came to combat. The group switched between 1v1 combat, weight training, and skill and technique training.
Everyone turned out to be an extremely worthy opponent, and you were all practically on the same level. Well, besides Bruce. He's a sweetheart, but The Hulk is who you'd need in any real fight.
You slide your back down the padded wall and attempt to get the very last sip of your water out. You hear a chuckle but can't find the energy to see who it came from.
"Here. I just got it from the fridge," a familiar voice says as he places the plastic bottle next to you.
T'Challa has offered Bucky salvation in Wakanda. He promises to help de-program him as long as Bucky agrees to stay in Wakanda under their supervision. It's an excellent offer, one he can't possibly turn down. Seeing him go won't be easy, though.
