Hey guys!! It's been a while hasn't it?

But fear not as I'm back with a new illustration, namely a Metroid 35th Anniversary tribute piece for Game-Art-HQ.com!Since this year is full with videogame anniversaries, Game-Art-HQ was kind enough to invite me and other great artists to begin the celebrations with a bunch of cool illustrations.Anyway, I went ahead and gave my best to make a worthy tribute to what is my favourite Nintendo franchise.Funny enough it wasn't always like that... I remember the 1st time I played a Metroid game. It was Metroid 2 on my red zora Game Boy and man!, I wasn't impressed. Truth be told I died a bunch of times at the begining of the game and never looked back. So yeah, my first impression wasn't very good but a few years later I'd be singing its praises to the heavens. Thus enter Metroid Prime!!The game was out for a while now and the reviews made me curious about the latest adventure of Samus but still I wasn't willing to give the jump. After a rough period in my life I was in dire need of something to help me forget those hard times and upon finding Metroid Prime at half the price I decided to give it a chance. Low and behold that was all that I needed to pick up myself again and to finally appreciate this amazing game series.Needless to say that after Prime I went back and played all the Metroid games that I could get my hands on and I loved everyone of them!

This commentary is getting long on the tooth so let's dive in this piece where you'll find a bunch of Samus enemies representing each entry in the franchise like Mother Brain from Metroid, Kraid from Super Metroid and Meta Riddley from Metroid Prime.Like always I hope you guys like my take on this characters!Until next time!!!

Hey everyone!!Pikmin 3 deluxe is out for some time now on the Nintendo Switch and like usual I'm late to the party as per usual!Anyway, If some of you don't know, Pikmin is a series of real time strategy games created by Nintendo where you find yourself stranded on a unknown planet and use the titular creatures help to explore, collect precious items and fight in order to survive in that hostile environment. Despite RTS not being my cup of tea, I love the Pikmin games! Probably it's the unique gameplay of picking and throwing Pikmin all while solving puzzles or the gorgeous visuals with lush forests, bottom clear rivers or dangerous caves. In the end it may well be the cute Pikmin themselves that sold me on this game. Even to this day I can't forget the sadness I felt when some of my Pikmin were left behind at the hands of a cruel fate. Poor guys...Unlike Mario and Zelda, Pikmin doesn't sell a lot despite being great games ( and the same could be said about many other forgotten Nintendo franchises ) so I hope that my piece here helps some of you at least try the demo on the eshop! Hey everyone!With Halloween fast approaching I'd like to share with you guys one of my all time favourites especially during this time of the year.Zombies ate my neighbors or just Zombies here in Europe is definitely a cult classic that I always come back to!So basically you can control one of the two protagonists, Zeke the cool 3d glasses kid and Julie the smart red hat girl in order to rescue all of your neighbors from the classic movie monsters. There goes the neighborood!! In this run and gun game you'll have a bunch of weapons at your service such as water guns, soda cans, tomatoes and even the ocasional power up that transforms you into a monster destroying everything in your path.Full of humor and references you and a friend can face the likes of zombies, Vampires, chainsaw wielding Lumberjacks with hockey masks, evil giant babies-- that's right evil giant babies!-- through shopping malls, football fields, pyramids and evil laboratories all while rescuing cheerleaders, oblivious barbecue chefs, thrill chasing tourists and even that pesky teacher that hates you!Other thing that makes this game so much fun is its music, recreating perfectly the action on the screen ranging from wacky to moody tunes.Man, I remember first playing this game at my best friends house on his Snes and loving every minute of it, so much that I had to get a copy for myself but on the Sega Mega Drive, since that was the system that I had as a kid. Despite some minor differences here and there the game was the same and thus it became my go to during Halloween!Anyway, I hope you enjoy the piece and if you can try this game out with a friend, I bet you'll have a laugh while at it!With that said happy halloween, stay safe and until next time! Super Mario 3D All Stars

Let's start the celebrations!

Super Mario is celebrating his 35th birthday and what better way to do that than showing you some of my favourite moments of the Super Mario 3D all Stars collection games through my illustrations!

Super Mario 64 -The battle beetwen King Koopa and the Plumber is coming to an end, when Mario grabs the big lizard by his tail and after a big swirl throws the menacing Bowser through the air falling right onto a bomb."So long King-a-Bowser!!" shouts victoriously the little moustached hero.

Super Mario Sunshine - Away from the hustle on the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario and crew decides to take on a well deserved vacation at the sun-drenched island resort known as Isle Delfino. Upon arriving our hero finds himself in a horrible mess. Someone is polluting the island and the locals say that Mario is the culprit!! Now Mario has to clean up his name and the island with the help of FLUDD- the latest invention from Dr. E.Gadd.

Super Mario Galaxy - Welcome to the Galaxy!! My Super Mario 35th anniversary celebration reaches a cosmic conclusion with this piece. Princess Peach invites Mario for the Stardust festival and what seemed a pleasent evening turns into a nightmare. Once again the evil Bowser kidnaps the princess and this times takes the castle along into space!! Now its up to our italian plumber to save the day, or should I say the galaxy!

Like usual I hope you guys like my take on these three classic games.

Gemini Knights of the Zodiac Future Armour

Hey guys! This was my entry on the Saint Seiya Awakening: the Knights of the Zodiac contest.

So the goal was to create a new skin for Saga the Gemini saint but with the twist that he comes from the future! With art direction by my good friend prof. João Matos, we came with the idea of a mech style armour and a small robot ball that serves as the shadow gemini saint in the mobile game.

Anyway, I don't think my entry will win but still it was pretty fun working with this concept.

Hey everyone!Recently I got to play Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair and you know what? I really liked it!It's no DKC Tropical Freeze but it's the closest we'll get of a new DKC game. Capital B is back to no good and only Yooka the chameleon and Laylee the bat can save the entire Bee kingdom from certain doom!But in order to do that, this dynamic duo needs to enlist the help of the beethalion, so they can pass all the traps that await them at the Impossible Lair. So with colorful visuals, great platforming and especially, David Wise music, you'll have hours of fun in this game.Anyway, I did this piece entirely digital with Krita so I hope you guys like it!Please stay safe and until next time! I don't know about you guys but man!, SoR4 sure is an outstanding game. Suffice to say that I had my own share of doubts about this new entry in a well loved series but I'm happy to say that those fears were unfounded. Dotemu, Lizard Cube and Guard Crush Games did and amazing job and I say that as a huge, huge fan of SoR.I still remember how impactful it was for me, the 1st time I played Sor 1! Especially in the audio department--Yuzo Koshiro did a work of genius!! So how does the 4th entry in terms of music? Is really good! Olivier Deriviere's soundtrack does justice to Yuzo's work. There's especially a couple of them that I just can't stop listening to and those are Down the Beatch and Rising up. The latter one is the music from the elevator stage, the scene that I depicted in my illustration. So about that, Blaze is fighting some badguys in the obligatory beat'em up elevator stage!It is so much fun doing combos in Streets of Rage 4 and when coupled with a fantastic music like in this level?! Man! I knew that I had to capture this moment.Anyway, visually the game is gorgeous to look at, so hopefully I didn't disapoint you all with my piece.Well, I could be here all day babbling about what could very well be my favourite game of this year, so I'll stop right here.Please stay safe and until next time!! Panzer Dragoon Remake

Hey everyone!I've been playing Panzer Dragoon remake on the Nintendo Switch. As a big fan of the original games on Sega Saturn, I couldn't pass up this opportunity. Basically, Panzer Dragoon is a rail gun shooter where you ride a dragon while fighting against an evil Empire in a post apocaliptic world. As if that wasn't enough, in your journey through lost ruins in the sea, vast deserts and lush forests you'll encounter a variety of monster that'll put you to the test. All this alligned with an amazing soundtrack that brings even more life to this world! There's nothing quite like Panzer Dragoon's music. I love it!!Nowadays you may not think much of it but back in the day this game was the showcase for the Sega Saturn 3d graphics capability, a true killer app to that system not only for the visuals but for its innovative gameplay. While you could only shoot forward in other shooters like StarFox, Panzer Dragoon would let you shoot all around your character.The only negative about this game and like many others of this genre is that it was a short experience.Anyway, the remake is all of this that I just said above with an added paint coat, a remixed soundtrack and a new way of control that I don't like very much, thankfully MegaPixel Studio left the classic control so that's not a problem. The only issues I can see is the aiming, that for a few times won't lock onto enemies and a weird lag when rotating the camera.When all said and done, I still enjoyed my time with Panzer Dragoon remake (my kid loves it too!!AHAH!). I miss these kind of gamesand I can't wait for the remake of Panzer Dragoon II Zwei!Well, like usual I hope you like my take on this game and please stay safe during this troubling times.Until next time! The Ninja Saviors:Return of the Warriors

Hey guys!Here's another great one I got to play last year.If you're like me and remember fondly the arcades I bet that you may know the name Ninja Warriors!As one of the best side scrolling Beat'em ups of all time, you take control of a bunch of Ninja robots fighting through waves of enemies in order to save the world from an apocaliptic future.With that said Taito decided to remake this masterpiece with improved visuals, audio and a couple new characters, turning this game even more legendary. Speaking of audio, you should totally listen to the soundtrack by zuntata (Taito's in house band).Anyway I played The Ninja Saviors on the Switch but you can also get it on the PS4. If you like this kind of games you should try this one out! As for the piece, I went with the 3 iconic characters; Kunoichi (red ninja girl), Ninja (blue with the nunchaku) and Kamaitachi (the one jumping with the curved blades on his arms) running in the direction of danger on the first stage of the game.Hope you guys like my take on this classic!Please stay safe and until next time. Hey guys!Last week I had the chance to finish Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 and since I've never played any game from this series before, I was quite surprised how fun it was.Anyway I had to do some sequential art and what better subject than one of my favourite parts on this title. Basically Deadpool is at the Xavier Mansion, to be more precise at the kitchen cooking a bunch of enchiladas when all hell breaks loose!!
