An aging master grew tired of his apprentice’s complaints. One morning, he sent him to get some salt. When the apprentice returned, the master told him to mix a handful of salt in a glass of water and then drink it.
“How does it taste?” the master asked.
“Bitter,” said the apprentice.
The master chuckled and then asked the young man to take the same handful of salt and put it in the lake. The two walked in silence to the nearby lake and once the apprentice swirled his handful of salt in the water, the old man said, “Now drink from the lake.”
As the water dripped down the young man’s chin, the master asked, “How does it taste?”
“Fresh,” remarked the apprentice.
“Do you taste the salt?” asked the master.
“No,” said the young man. At this the master sat beside this serious young man, and explained softly,
“The pain of life is pure salt; no more, no less. The amount of pain in life remains exactly the same. However, the amount of bitterness we taste depends on the container we put the pain in. So when you are in pain, the only thing you can do is to enlarge your sense of things. Stop being a glass. Become a lake.”

"Put away," or killed… Requiem Interra Pax, John… May your death not be in vain.
The idea of role models was always weird to me.
No matter how you look at it though, John Lennon is, to this day - one of the greatest fucking men to ever live - and he shaped my life in many ways.

"My heart is afraid that it will have to suffer," the boy told the alchemist one night as they looked up at the moonless sky.
"Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams."
The Alchemist
Beautiful.

This is such a true statement.
Nothing is more freeing than the act of freeing yourself from all of the ties. No grudges, no regrets, no worries.
Before you begin on the journey of revenge, dig two graves. ~Proverb

I've made this journey before but without guidance or understanding.
I make the journey again and its like seeing it through different eyes. I understand it. Its beautiful.
Is it better to subject myself to the stress of trying to complete the daily tasks asked of me or is it better to reject those tasks because I know that they will cause stress and disturb my peace of mind?
If you can’t be at peace doing daily tasks, where else do you expect to find peace? Hang-gliding with lemurs in the Himalayas? (That does sound pretty sweet though.)
Rather than renouncing daily tasks, renounce your stress. Peace is found within. Is the peace that can be disturbed actually peace?
"A man who is advancing will begin to enjoy the deeper beatitude, whether he is at work of not. While his hands are in society, he keeps his head cool in solitude." ~ Ramana Maharshi
Practice daily meditation and constant mindfulness. You will become aware of yourself as this spaciousness through which things come and go. Emotions, thoughts, feelings, all of it. Peace is that space through which those phenomena parade.
It’s not about rejecting some of those phenomena nor clinging to others but instead being unconfused by the whole show.
I’d also highly recommend the book The Places That Scare You by Pema Chodron.
Namaste :)

Oh the truth in these words.
So wake me up when it’s all over
When I’m wiser and I’m older
All this time I was finding myself
And I didn’t know I was lost
I tried carrying the weight of the world
But I only have two hands
Hope I get the chance to travel the world
But I don’t have any plans
Wish that I could stay forever this young
Not afraid to close my eyes
Life’s a game made for everyone
And love is the prize

There's this story in my head about a boy who is barely 18. He drives a volkwagen bus and meets the girl he had never seen but he'd known her his whole life.
